I have to stick around for another 2 hours -- must take an antibiotic pill then.
time for a cuppa jilli??
are you still feeling ok jili? how's the scratch?
I'm fine, thanks, dee -- and it was a bite, not a scratch. It was still bleeding this morning but I think it's stopped now.
hoping it doesn't get infected...
what bit you?
I was at the Chemainus Theatre this afternoon for a lovely buffet lunch and a matinee -- great performance of Fiddler on the Roof
oooh, one of my very favorites!
kje, it's a cat bite. The very friendly neighbourhood cat I've been very fond of did it for no apparent reason. Really chomped!
where?
Dee, that's what the antibiotics are for.
Right leg, kje, in the front.
OK, nm... just wanted to make sure you got abx... cat bites are always treated
I got the owner to take me to the ER and was treated right away with antibiotic ointment and dressing.
oral?
or just ointmet?
topical in the ER, now Amoxillin and Clavulin pills, 3 x a day for a week, then it will be checked on.
oral what?
antibiotics, ruru. Behave.
ok
hi ru
hi kje and jilli
re 7 x 5 so far

Hi ruru.

has anyone seen my dear Met on this weekend?
haven't seen met for a while
not me, pug, but I haven't been here a lot.
I'll have to email him....
just thought I'd ask
he does lurking fireworks all the time nowadays
wonder if he does lurking other things
I know but he does usually babble on weekends
Oh LOTS of things
he should be coming down in 2 or 3 weeks ! I can't wait to see him !!!
that's nice
but yes he primarily lurks ( as do I) but I've been checking the "my friends" tab 7 he's not been on
I'm going to start lurking now too
why's that?

funny word that trollop
I love it
geez ruru, I think we chased everyone out of the chog!
I guess.. this is role reversal.. they are all lurking on you..lol
I'm just busily looking for words and hanging on yours

hi dart
stuck at 232-- going to list
235 should list soon
good morning all
hiya sprite
hello sprite! how have you been doing?
great icon sprite
hiding behind the 8, ruru? :)
hi flosey, thanks! Hi jilli, kinda lousy, to be honest. Waiting for the noise to stop. End is coming near though :)
yup
love your icon, sprite, lol!
thanks :) It is one of my favorites!
fireworks...hi ruru
construction nearby sprite?
wtg dart
wow, darty!
I like yours too, jilli and flosey. LOL @ the baby wash... I was told I had to hold the baby by the ears and carefully pull him through the water... by the ears so I wouldn't scald my fingers ;)
my neighbours, flosey
that is weird, sprite!
no it was a joke, jilli. After that, I was told to hang him by same ea4 to dry.
ROFL! ROFL!
maybe this is a good moment to tell I never actually did that...
now that IS funny sprite!
;)
does anyone have a clue for mi7 and 8 please?
haha!
not me, flosey
that would be June flosey
hi everyone
too early for me, I haven't found any biggies yet. Hi west!
the time between youth and old age flosey
flos...june or july
thanks west, got them
hi Chessy
hi sprite I see your darling is in the grid
thanks west and hi!
thanks west and Chessy
Hi Sprite and everyone :)
hi da**
hi west
hi jilli and chessy
lots of them even, west :)
hello Chessy
I see sprite he's a popular boy today
Today is our 46th anniversary
he is... every day, grin. He is the loveliest dog in the whole world.
plus it's Father's Day so he gets 2 for 1
well, happy anniversary West and Hubby
omg.. 46th?
thanks flosey
oh wow west, congratulations! Beautiful. Going on 50!
We're going away and I should be packing
Congrats west!
did they have tv's back then?
Where are you going?
where are you going west?
hah we had a little black and white
no but they did have billiard balls, I think
with no remote control
down to Williamsburg sprite
he has business meetings Tues -Thurs so I'm going
how lovely, west. I hope you have a wonderful day together. Lots of hugging!
thanks sprite and all
the good thing is we're driving so I can just throw stuff in the car
that's my kind of packing lol
We went to Williamsburg and I bought a sampler pattern there which I worked -- really enjoyed that.
what is a sampler pattern?
I've never been even though we lived in VA Beach and the DC area
I'm really looking forward to going
that was 1989. A sampler pattern is a replica printout on linen of an embroidery piece done by a child (usually) back in the 1700s -- at least, that's what mine is. Come tho think of it, samplers would make a nice icon theme.
putting it in right now!
I love American history so I'll be in my glory
The only trouble is they're not usually square...
Juli 26, jilli. And we can make them square.
It's a most interesting place.
Jon sat next to a woman on the plane yesterday who went to William and Mary. She told him to have lunch at the Cheese Shop
your enthusiasm is so wonderful, west :) I can see you shine from across the ocean!
that's me perspiring
I kow how to make them square, sprite, but not everyone does.
it's supposed to be 95 all week
I'll gladly teach them then
wow -- we've been having very cool weather -- not even up in the 70s.
wow that is kinda hot, west. Make sure to bring a hat or parasol.
that's in southern VA not as hot here
a parasol !! that would fit right in
brb, need something to eat
oh yes! And it is great to have your own portable shadow.
bfn flosey
ttfn flosey
send some of that this way jilli...been between 95-102 for the last week...and in evening..t-storms with up to golf ball size hail last 3 days
I'm just tackling the re words. I hate re words.
ooh that's not good
I am ok, there are no Ks today
and not normal, is it ?
poor dart!
there haven't been for quite a few days
sounds impressive. Not good for cars though.
uh-oh...killed the chog
somebody clicked the red X
we're all running to get fans and ice water for you dart
red x?
don't you know the red X, jilli? You will find one at the upper right corner of each window.
not used to the high temp/humidity....still used to mn weather I guess
my x isn't red here, sprite
well, here it is raining cats, dogs and whales, and my love is going out today to canoe! With a group of people from canoe club... what are the odds he will be all alone there?
hmz... you are right, jilli. To be correct, the X is white and it sits in a red box.
if the canoe club people are anything like golfers, they'll be out in full force.
does he like the rain sprite?
can't wait to hear his stories later on, lol. West: no usually he doesn't. Secretly I suspect he wants to show that it doesn't mean anything he just turned 54. ;)
men !!
*grin*
it was, it is and will always be... an alien breed!
men are from Mars
me and ruru covering our ears
but we'll keep them
present company excluded of course
I'll keep mine for as long as they are willing to share my life, west
bedtime, I'm off, have 75 for tomorrow
goodnight all
night flosey, sleep well
nite flos
wow flosey -- good job! And goodnight!
thanks everyone, chat's been fun
I am having a bit of a brick wall at halfway point
I've put aside the re words for now
back for a sec, jilli, I sent a second message about an hour later, better method
I saw that flosey and thanked in reply.
lol... this is a meta conversation
flosey was sending a recipe for rabbit-proofing a garden
almost 230 am here...nite from me as well
gnight dart -- don't melt away!
thx jilli..think in about 3 days highs will only be 88 (31C)
I like temps in the 80s
I'm back. Just remembered I hadn't run the dw
good night dart and flosey
wb west
thanks sprite you always make me feel welcome
:) just like seeing you
when do you leave, west -- in the morning?
and me you
like seeing most babblers most of the time
I think we'll leave around noon jilli
yeah it is a good bunch, mostly
that sounds nice, west -- have a great trip!
his chore is to take the cats to board at the vet's
that should take all morning lol
herding them might!
we really have no set plan..hope to be past NY before the beach traffic hits
lol yes, that's what I mean
just tell them it is absolutely forbidden for them to go there.
that should work sprite
that's the great thing about driving -- no set timetable.
his mistake is getting the kennels out ahead of time...and they know!
took him 12 hours to get home from CA yesterday. He was flying United and got home just before the computers went down
Hadn't heard about those computers!
ouch! That sounds awful :(
still had weather delays
oh yes. he was exhausted
dinner was a little dried out but he was so happy to have real food
public transportation... leaves from a place you are not, to a place you don't want to go, at a time that doesn't suit you.
so true !!
aw poor man
air travel used to be fun
I think this trip will be good for both of us
except for that woman in our new car
you so deserve it, west. I hope it will be all you long for.
voice of the new GPS
lol! let her be silent. Just look at the screen.
I love my GPS. I've called her Felicity and she has a British voice.
she's so mixed up. we went to our cousin's daughter's graduation party and she brought us 'round robin's barn
I have been told you can get another voice if you want... like Tom Cruise's or George's...
this one sounds like Wendie Mallick
ooh George
You can always make her recalculate
I think I'd like Richard Burton
you can keep Cruise
she does but she's just not my cup of tea
she keeps interrupting me !!
I don't want either. Now sean connery maybe... or Jeremy Irons.
how rude, west!
on the way home she took us through Providence right smack into a Gay Pride parade
How was she to know!
she is pretty liberal
I know but it was kind of comical
turned us left just in time
excuses excuses excuses... of course she should know. That is her value over that of a map, right?
(we are very oldfashioned here... we re4 maps)
I think I will give her a name..love Felicity but she's not British
Wendy should work?
that would be my job and I'm not a very good navigator
but that's our 2nd daughter and we like her
Wendy, for wending your way?
ok, not Wendy. How about Anita?
let me think about that
Rhoda?
lol nice one. The Wayward Wench?
for our state
Anita Clue
LOL
Well, Rhoda for your state and for the roads she makes you take.
Clueless outside of Seattle
yes !!
for some reason she kept us off the highway today..what should have been a 10 minute trip turned into an hour
maybe you need to check the options and settings? She might be programmed for seeing routes.
Bad girl!
she probably had too much to drink
Does she have traffic jam sensitivity?
we just haven't had her long enough
bad Rhoda. No more wine this month.
I don't know
it didn't seem very busy today
she might be a rowdy Rhoda
now going up to Maine on a summer weekend..that's crazy
Rowdy Rhoda..very good !!
back in a few, I need some sustenance
Well, I can get ready for bed now and take my pill. Won't have much time tomorrow -- going to play bridge and I still have 106 left. Goodnight all!...*poof
bye sprite I'll probably be gone when you get back so tons of hugs
good night too jilli and gentle hugs for you
debating whether I should take my laptop on the trip..if I don't I'll have 500 emails
night jilli, night west
*hugs* west and have a terrific time. Leave the laptop. When you get back, let the emails come in, then sort them on sender. Very easy to remove the non essentials.
good idea sprite.
See you when we get back.
bye hun!
good morning. How nice! A big Sunday grid!
hi Ruby, hows things in your neck of the woods? all dandy here.
we've finally had enugh rain but it is surprisingly cool for June
now, I'm waiting to see if the figs ripen or fall off
how about yu? how are you feeling?
have to go get ready for lunch. see yu later, one short of half :(
aaah, half
Hi all. Got exactly halfway through on the first run through. Back for more later.
morning all
Morning Carlee
morning molls
hows things ur way?
Not bad. Cloudy Sunday morning. Making sausage biscuits.
And you?
sunny here... having a piece of the dreaded banoffee pie ( too lazy to cook as i am headed bac to the house shortly for the last clean ...sign is up ) and i have a cat on my ass
Well, best of luck getting it sold. I hope that goes quickly so you can get it behind you.
me too!!!!...i think it will...the neighbourhood sells...and...everythign inside is breand new...EVERYTHING...
brand* new even....
The market is slowly getting better. And it sounds very "sellable".
carlee - you inspired me, i made a banoffee pie yesterday too
there are alot of houses on the market here...but...there is only 1 other house comparable that we can tell..and it is on a busy street...and is priced slightly higher ( ours is a quiet crescent)
YAY Banoffee pie!!!!!!!!!!
Morning Hurshy
morning
how did ur banoffee turn out hursh?
well i made it up myself and it wasn't quite "offee" enough, but that was easily fixed by adding extra toffee chips.
I thought you didn't like coffee Hursh
i don't, the offee is toffee, not coffee
i'm amazed that you remembered about the coffee :)
Ah, I see. I thought Carlee's recipe had sprinkled coffee crystals on it. I'm sure there are a lot of different recipes.
yeah my sense was that everyone has their own variation so i just made up my own version
That's the best way to do it. Everything I make has a tweak or two in the recipe from me. It makes cooking creative.
i did graham cracker crust, then a layer of caramel with toffee chips, then a layer of banana cream, then a layer of whipped cream.
i dont like cocoa on top of mine... and when i say coffee crystals...less then 1/2 tsp on top of a 20" pie top
Now see, because I don't like bananas, I could change the banana cream to french vanilla cream and I would like it.
just enough u decorate the top instead of pastey white goo... u cant taste the coff at all
vanoffee pie
that would be vanoffee pie molls ;)
snap hursh
Indeed. : D
oh i'd be able to taste it, carlee, blech
i was able to taste the alcohol in a lemonade that had .5% alcohol - my brother in law thought i was a freak
Strong sense of taste and smell. I have that too. Except I am Hursh's polar opposite, I LOVE the smell of coffee.
weird. ea7 works but if you type eye**** in, it doesn't say "not in grid", it says "not in dictionary".
C*O*F*F*E*E
I guess the unpredictable world of enable considers ey7 two words.
guess so
Oh, the definition of ea7 is some sort of jewelry. I guess that is why it's one word.
afternoon all - any clue for the de 6/24 please
remove a stain
thanks kje
yw
not the real def, but easier to clue
I think more people would get that clue than the real definition.
i am down to 15 - all s's and t's - lots of letter combos i struggle with today - big problem with sa's for no real reason
Save one, the sa's are all weird words
well that last bit of lurking paid off - i have now finished and now i can go and do some house work - lots needs to be done today still
dare dares
!!!!! Kaz !!!!
good morning!
congrats Kaz
HI
((Herin)) good evening
Hugs and how you
I am just fine, thanks. And you?
Party last night was a big success
excellent.
All the sausage rolls got eaten and there was only a quarter of cake left
good time was had by all I take it
wow, that is impressive
I will find a pic and put on FB later
I look forward to seeing it
Everyone had a great time.
I think I made close to 60 mini rolls
you have been busy
is it past midnight there? I have a hard time keeping up with the time
No 11pm
I was
hello, babblers
hello ((Welki))
I am just emailing the picture to me now
herin, can i friend you on fb?
mom, are you on fb, too?
YEs sure
oh wait, we're already friends :)
I am
Silly :D
no, not us, herin (mom and i are already connected)
I was thinking we were, Welki
O in Moms friends I am N Sim**
Mom, is that your handsome sweetie in that picture?
I love the babble community on Facebook. It is fun to see who everyone is
Cake photo is up
what a lovely cake Herin
<---- oh to be 50 again :-)
I know that it looks a bit squished.
Good morning...and Happy Father's Day!
I am waiting for the person whose birthday it was to put it up on FB
(((Car.))) good morning
Hi Car
Morning Car. My boy and I both wished our Dad's a Happy Fathers Day in The Summerlands.
Happy Father's Day to you as well lol
Hi herin! Nice looking cake!
Morning Molly! Morning Mom!
Hello ((Molly))
Mom the actual cake was chocolate mud, and the bottom layer was raspberry buttercream and plain icing the top was Almond paste
Thanks. I was stressed about it because everyone was going to see it
wow Herin, you are quite the baker
The Summerlands Molly?
I can be. Special occasions I like to bake but himself doesn't eat sweets and if I made everything I would like I would be a rolly polly.
Hi Molly
haha ... I wish my sweetie didn't like sweets as much as he does
The cake was a diabetic coma waiting to happen
I bet
We saw Harry Potter today on the big screen today.
I have never seen or read Harry Potter
have you seen all of them, Herin
Me either Mom! I thought I was the ONLY one!
I have read all the books.
they are some thick books
<-- has never read or seen a harry potter book/movie, either
Not all I haven't seen the last one yet. The one that was released last year
I read at bed time and I can only imagine the pain if I fell asleep reading it
And we had the biggest freeking tub of popcorn too
with butter I hope
Yep and salt.
So darn expensive though :( But since we do this so rarely why not
it is expensive to go to the show here. $10 for a ticket and $12 or so for a small drink and popcorn
agreed Herin
$7 each ticket and jumbo popcorn 2 drinks 2 choc tops
This was because the show is old
dang it .. logged out, logged in, closed browser, rebooted laptop .. still can only see tiny cake icon!
guess I had better start my day. ((Hugs)) to all of you
(what's a chocolate top?)
Bye Mom!
Hi Welki!
hey, car
Choc top um it is a cone ice cream with icing. I think you lot have Hursheys Hard set icing
Welki, I love your quotation.
i stopped going to the movies years ago. i don't mind paying (even though it's pretty expensive), but i can't stand the kicking on the back of my seat, the constant phones going off ... no more ushers! (dating myself)
Ok it is hursheys Shell icing
hi, godthaab ... thanks :)
thanks for the translation, herin
Hi Godthaab
I imagine it is quite a good book.
Hi, all.
I had these girls behind me that wouldn't stop talking. Very annoying. When I saw Lord of The Rings part 2 about half way through someones phone rang and they walked past. I hissed ''Walk back past me and it will be a bad idea'' They spent the rest of the movie on the step
HI God
HI, herinfernallady.
Herin is fine
Name That Noun: French Existentialist!
ette
sartre :)
You win a car!!!
hello all
and yikes
Hi TO
Hi TO!
do i have a choice? because at this moment, i sure would like a bentley continental gtc :)
No problem. I will send one right over. What colour?
yawn
is mom here?
one just like this, please: http://tinyurl.com/yh7eqey
hi to .. mom was here, went off to start her day
Welki, I'm with you on the movies. If I go, which is rare, I go to an off beat time showing hoping for a thin crowd.
I do that Molly
And the only thing I buy is a drink. I bring my own popcorn and snacks.
Since we go so rarely why not. BUt I have in the past
i don't watch many movies, even at home. i have a difficult time sitting still that long (welkimania)
Welki I was at a concert and stayed in the same spot for more than 5 hours
Don't get me started on cell phones during a movie or a church service.
My phone is off even when i am at a coffee shop
Nice car, but I prefer the old behemoths. I see there is a used one for sale! Only 81, 000 British pounds!
Good for you Herin. I think certain people need a 12 step program for cell phone addiction.
Where are you in Canada?
If I am with company even with my partner phone goes off
as in I ignore it
alberta, god. (i like the old ones, too)
I'm in The Big Smoke
you're up in slave lake? is that what you mean?
Ummm,,,, not quite... (Very funny)
I have to run. See you later!
oh, it's not funny. slave lake, a small city in northern alberta, just about burned to the ground last month)
OK I must must must go to bed. Later have a great Sunday
*killed the chog*
g'night herin
nights
morning, all! just restraining myself from throttling my son...
it's five o'clock somewhere *hands uusue a bailey's*
*sigh* thx, welki :-)
he now has both phone chargers, and I had to wheedle a third one out of him, as well as both sets of car keys. grrrrr.
more girlfriend issues? i'm not caught up ... last time i 'saw' you, you were on your way to a lawyer's office for a consult
no, the gf is apparently out of the picture (moving out of state) so I canceled the lawyer. this is just him :-)
(he's a little ADD, so I try to cut him some slack, but every once in a while I get fed up)
whew .. well this sounds more like 'normal' throttling issues :)
indeed (oops - turns out I still have one set of car keys, so he's only lost one of them...)
still, it's always time for a bailey's :)
that too :-)
Oh, easy solution. If he loses his car keys, he can't drive the car. : D
works for me. if you lost yours, though, would he have to give up his to you?
yeah, and if he loses his phone charger he can't charge his phone. I am getting close to both of these...
of course, welki - I own the car, and I'm the one who works for a living...
Preventative solution: Put a hook by the front door. Tell him that THAT is where his car keys ALWAYS go. Consequence of losing car keys is no car.
about the charger ... what about getting one of those charging pads? stays in one place
we've already done that with the garage door closer, molly, so that's a good idea.
i put my keys on hook for that reason *lol* ... when i see they key rack, it's a trigger for me
and I'll look into the charging pad - do they work with all phones?
I used to work with a woman whose 23 year old daughter was constantly over drawing her bank account. Guess why? Mom was monitoring the account and making deposits to save the girls butt. Ergo, the girl learned no consequences. To this day that is still going on.
there are universal ones and brand specific ones .. you'll have to make the dreaded trip to best buy
<---- Recommends Best Buy on line. Going to Best Buy is torture.
he's finally learned not to do that, molly (at least I think he has), and I don't bail him out anyway. He does have a part time job with direct deposit, so he has some motivation.
and I am a geek and actually kind of like Best Buy :-) (I just get them to leave me alone)
i am one of the few that think going to best buy is like going to f.a.o. schwarz for grown-ups
(geek, too)
ok, gotta go get dressed, bbl!
uh oh, i missed costco business hours, must now go to big box store hell
and i don't even know why, i just need to go. how weird is that? i mean i have not been for a moth, think of what i could be missing :/
sounds familiar, owl ... i received two emails from one of my internet providers confirming top ups on the account. tried to call them to advise i might have been double charged ... get this, they're only open mon-fri, 9-5!
ohh, ignore that post .. thought you had business to do with them, not a 'must go' experience *lol*
oh ok, i know, i promised my hairdresser i would pick something up for her. and with sample, there is a free lunch
but i was dizzy after taking ed today, two docs disagee o dasage it seems
ohh, just reminded me
The RE's are going to do me in
hi annie
Hi Owl, how are you?
fine, and you?
fine, too
except for the re's
hello, back for a bit
Hi ((ruby))
hello ruby
anyone have a clue for re 7/32 after to peruse a book again
term for used tires
to rip again?
(pl)
I have that, welki, need the one before that one
wow, thank you for those and the pl 8!!!
ae 6/21 plz
like the ed5 roman senator, just add an a
ae+***l pickle+vowel
anyone have a clue for the last re7/32? Please.
re7 - the screen behind the altar....? Is this the one you need? I haven't looked at the list yet so don't know quite where it's placed
ty both
after the tires, annie?
did you go to the Mermaids Parade yesterday, Annie?
can i have a clue 4 the pr9 please
bless you, Owl
sorry, rasta, dont know the name for the screen behind the altar
ruby, No did not go to the Mermaids Day parade, been there, done that.....terrific traffic tie-up tho
ok let me think how to clue, it is a common babble word
back with breakfast, will eat quick as church starts in 15 min...
aaah, I thought it might be walking distance.....
ends with spanish word for the number of times you use re
hey even mentioned it in the Int'l Herald Tribune
It is walking distance..far, but still walkable
let's see... - if you do again AGAIN - then pl.
I like your, Owl. Very clever
sorry its not the pr i need its the te9 please
you can walk to coney island, annie? *jealous* i have a friend who went yesterday, looked like fun
Owl, thanks so much...got it, now I know the name of the screen...babble is very educational
among other things ;)
what is the mermaid parade?
That's how *I* justify it lol
welki, Yes, I can walk to CI...sometimes the crowd gets out of hand and was not in the mood for that yesterday
I'm jealous, too, I miss the ocean
*pcituring mermaids amblugn along on fins like flipper*
understood, annie .. but i loved walking the boardwalk in winter
Owl, your clues for re7/32 was genius
*preens*
welki, I walk the boardwalk in wintertime too...it is so beautiful
i have never been there, my dad talked about it
ruby, we need a dose of ocean
i was thinking that earlier today, only 1 1.2 hrs away
I wish I could move the Atlantic around for you, welki
I am very far inland; lakes are not the same
see you later {{hugs}}
bye, ruby, hugs back
i was in jersey last month and spent every possible minute on the shore. maybe someday, i'll make my way back east permanently
bye, ruby
youwere?
come home, welki
*sigh* if i could, i would
There's a lovely ocean on the west coast too. Warmer water even
well rasta .. if you had a choice, which one would you choose? why?
but not bathing friendly. not human friendly.
i've spent time on both coasts ... it's like annie said. the atlantic is 'home'
the jersey shore is surprisingly nice, if you haven't been there, and if you go in august the water is quite warm, nice waves too
When I've been on the east cost, people sit on the beach, but no one swims. Why's that? We've had east coast visitors come with us to the beach and not bring their swimsuits. Very odd.
<-- swims in the atlantic, can fall asleep floating on the waves :)
that's odd, rasta, I grew up in NJ and spend most of my childhood in the water :-)
And maybe afunction of where I've been, no doubt, but better sand on the Pacific
i have been to manhattan beach and no bathers there.
<-----------swims in the Atlantic too
nice sand in NJ too, at least there was back in the 1950s and 60s :-)
could i have a clue for the 3rd letter of the t9 please
hehe, i went to kingsborough for a while
Well I'm glad to hear some people make use of it lol
and some beaches in florida are nice too although the waves are tiny
there still is, sue .. at least there was last month :)
and now i have to run, bbl!!!
me too .. later, everyone
<------- loves feel of concrete beneath her feet yuck crabs
True, I haven't been to FL. I guess my experience is ME and CT
i don't see how folks can swim there, the beaches are rocky
found it thanks 4 all your help
Just doing a drive=by - Happy father's day to all my Babble peeps! Headed out for a motorcycle ride - maybe even swinging up to Bike Week in Laconia!
hi angela
Enjoy your day everyone! Mwah! *poof*
back
is all the beach talk over? the ocean off Miami was the best, like a bath
I love the ocean. Haven't seen it in years.
angela should adjust her meds..lol
I'm an extremely poor swimmer, sink like a stone, but could paddle around in shallow water in Miami for hours
hi hi ru ru
hi ruby... how's france holding up?
getting ready for the Tour!!!
What's behind the 8 ball Ruru?
oh.. yeah..
my bad sense of humor Molly
is anybody old enough to remember fortune-telling 8 balls?
oh sure
"come back again later"
I remember Magic 8 Balls. Outlook good.
My sources say yes"
yes, molly
It is decidedly so.
haha jan
Just stopping by--no way do I finish this grid. Or even come close. Too much to do.
Another fly by chatter
Or a driveby chog comment?
200 words, a small milestone!
now I have to fix dinner, see yu later
Not small at all. This is one of those grids where you need to try out every single variant on a word stem, so it's easy to miss ones. So getting to 200 is no mean feat
Bye ruby!
the chatter-nooga choo choo must be going by..
Time to make a father's day brunch--so have fun, all!
bye jan
Pardon me boys...
hi all pls clue the first re6/18 and 7/28 thx

I need an R from the bottom one please
Tanja, that is sweet of you.... I am finding this grid to be too much. I have 96 words. only.
peruse again, wild
hi, red! I have 112 but they are not coming quickly.
ty
Plus I am annoyed.
oh, why, red?
My friend want to go to lunch with me, and told me to pick the place, so I did, but now they want to go to a place that is like 30 mins away from me...
that's a long car ride - are you up to it yet?
SO I suggested two other places, then they asked if I wanted to go another day, so i finally had to explain that the drive, plus all the sitting in the end will cause me pain...
Plus, I gotta admit, I dont love that place that much, to drive there.
{{{{{{{red}}}}}}}
Well....sometimes being more honest is the better option. Hope they understand. i mean, it is a chain, and the place I suggested was also a chain.
no point hiding the fact that you are still recovering from surgery, and that limits what you can do!
She has to know that, she is the one who drove me home after. I think in fact, she just wanted to go back to Bahama Breeze. It is closer to her house....
ah. well, sometimes people overestimate how quickly you will recover, and need reminding.
well, I feel funny about it, just texted that to her and now no reply, but she is probably at work.
se 6/21 ??
dot have it sammys
thank you for listening to me grouse.
me either ....
geez, red, after all the grousing I have done on here the least I can do is listen to other people!! (I have found that this is a very good place to grouse although I try not to do it TOO much :-)
hi everybody and happy fathers day to those who are celebrating

Is that a hint for the other 9, sammy?
I was doing absolutely nothing before (except I actually was getting more activity when I worked, since I took the stairs several times a day)

Hi Honey, just started.
re6/18 - get money for working, again.
Hi Haz
thanks haz
and ty
Hello! And you're welcome.
good afternoon all
Hi Dan
Hello, dan.
Haz, who is the handsome boy?
It's Rory McIlroy, from Northern Ireland. He's currently in the lead in the US Open, and I'm hoping he's going to win.
Oh, of course.
it seems pretty likely, Haz
Hubby likes him.
We're not counting our chickens, but my goodness, he's played so well.
Amazing!
I'm not even a lifelong golf fan or anything but he's done us proud - not just in his play but in his demeanour etc.
True Haz
Okay, going to head off. Enjoy this nice grid and keep everything crossed for Rory! Bye!
clues for sp8, re8?
sp8 adverb of the 6 before
we're pulling for him too Haz... for more reasons than one ! We are big golf fans and he's a breath of fresh air on the tour.... in fact there are several nice young players. I'm just going to turn on the TV and hope that he can maintain his 8 stroke lead... even add to it !!! Good luck to Rory !
ty bzz
re8 - reused tires

I ceded to stupidity a while back, lol
i didn't think you can do it again and again and again ...
NEVER!

Aloy stupid
we have a beautiful polished wooden re7/32 behind the altar in my church :-)
I have no idea what that is diane
I have no idea what that is diane
I can't get it to take that word for me. oh, well.
it is a wall, or partial wall
dictionary says ---- a screen or a decorated part of the wall behind an altar in a church. or the back of a fireplace or of a medieval open hearth.
Hi, folks--i need help with my last two -- the eel6/24 and the last de6/24 -- any clues out there?

It was a word that I never learned until my 50's, when someone left an endowment to build one in my church
el was just clued foam
and fw, hold on foam..
de6.24 is like taking a stain out of clothing
de + the Brits would say, "have a **** of tea"?.. they say it in the movies

bye, tanja
ruru! what happened to the smiley goat?
oh.. I took a new cue
*snerk*
half way. gonna go upload pics of the baby treerats. back shortly.
The second re7/32 is the dumbest word I've ever seen.
Oh yeah, Ru scratched the goat.
Hmm. Maybe I should update my icon too.
if the second re7/32 is the one that starts with a repeated pair of letters, it's an altar screen (it does look odd, though)
alright; will see if that worked.
At least there is some logical definition of it. As it looks, it seems absurd.
Cute Jes
thanks :)
and fireworks:)
yay, tanja!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay Tanja!
niceway to start the day:) Haven'tfinished a biggish one in ages
thank you guys
Good morning all

Maybe DrG lives near Red and the storm is effecting Babble too! Morning Peri & Red. Good to see you up and about Red
I am liking this grid. down to 109 left. no list

Hi Lyn.

I will start a game of scramble later, Jac
I haven't seen you for months Jac. How is everything? You are back to good health now?
Okay Peri (re Scramble). Sounds like your wrist is doing well - it's only days since the op.
Just found a nice, normal ey6 & 7.
I asm trying hard not to get the bandage dirty or wet. see the doctor on Thursday
Op???? what have you had done Peri?
I had the sheath that covers the tendson released on my left wrist due to tendontis. lot of pain since Feb.

Glad it was only minor surgery - ouch

Hi welki.
hi Welki
that cheesecake looks scrumptious, jac ... i've been thinking about it since yesterday!
Sorry welki! LOL. I'll have to post the recipe soon.
i've been craving cheesecake since april (welcome to diabetesville, welki)
Oh dear - you've got diabetes? There may well be a recipe that would be suitable for you. Have you looked on line?
down to 99 left, no list, time for dinner, my sister bought me some sushi, bbs
Peri - enjoy!
bye Perfi, enjoy
nope, not recipe hunting yet. still trying to get things under control. until i do, i'm resolved to follow a pretty strict diet
enjoy, peri!
bye, peri
Good for you, Welki. I know it can be difficult to get it right at first. (Partner's bro-in-law is diabetic.)
I'll change my picture.
some days it's not that bad, others are torture. it was a bit of a surprise ... no chance to give just diet a shot (pardon the pun). straightaway to oral meds and insulin
nooooooooo, it's a beautiful cake!! leave it as your icon, it's lovely!
Oh, okay. Just didn't like to upset you.
heavens, no. now grocery shopping ... that's a new experience *lol*
I was borderline - surprisingly too! - its the no symptons that tricks you
I'll bet.
exactly, lynxxx ... no symptoms. i ended up in urgent care with a blood sugar of 31.8 (572.4 in US numbers)
when i do something, i do it well :)

Mixi - I've got the weirdest visualisation from your clue. LOL
well I needed to list for a lot more than Jac but have finished - now must run - Bye all!
Well done, lyn.
Mixi - actually, it's making me think of the scene in 'The Fly' when Jeff Goldblaum's extremities started falling off. :-(

I have a hard time watching that Red.. they are fascinating though
I know, its bizarre, but yet I am still watching.
Now toddlers and tiaras, I have to turn off, it is just gross how they dress those 3 yr olds like porn stars.
i'm horrified that they are encouraging that behavior by putting it on tv.
I agree! I have look at the girls in Jakes 6th grade class and it is SCARY
can't say as i've ever watched any of those shows.
ae clue please?

OMG, jes!!! *maternal cooing* they are ADORABLE!!
Tom helped me make a blueberry pie for my paternal unit today -- he did the crust, and the elder stidkid helped decide on the spicing for the filling. Lemon juice, cinnamon and a bit of freshly-ground nutmeg. It actually turned out well!
sounds yummy
It was good. I tried a small piece (it had wheat in it so I shouldn't have ... but every once in a while I break this one). I used the recommended amount of flour and extra tapioca in the filling, so it set up really nicely.
bbl
bye, doxy
later doxy
Hi all just starting and what stidmama says about the pie she is not exaggerating. It was delicious. We have some for tomorrow, too.

hey TO!
did everyone have a good weekend?
hi doxy hi stidge
jes, I am reading some of the cool tips on your clinic website: had NO idea macadamias could cause temporary paralysis in dogs!!!
yeah, weird, isn't it? let me know if there are questions/answers i should add to that page :)
ok,14 leftr and i am reduced to begging
Beg away
mostly, people here get expensive chocolate-covered mac nuts and they don't share them with the dogs! but it's rather a problem in hawaii
TO that is Awesoem. I have 148 left. Will never ever complete.
will help if I can TO, only halfway though
how are you doing red?
46 left here
stid, I hope you are feeling better.
stid, sorry you were ill
I really like how clean and easy to navigate the site is! Might consider making the title an automatic "home" button, or add a "home" link to the top of the menu bars for each page. Now that I have time again, I am going to play with the css for my website and add a better menu function... not happy with the fully expanded menu with the current version.
dr7/32 pls?
thanks red and TO -- I am MUCH better. Between the prednisone and the inhaler I am breathing much more comfortably now. And once I stop taking the prednisone in a couple days I will feel fully better I suspect. Turns out, even super-stid needs oxygen! LOL
dr + vowel + se4
dr+vowel+clear part of blood
ty must look that one up. 9 left
thanks, stid. bruce says he's contemplated that, but is dragging his heels because he's trying to make everything work whether you ahve java enabled or not, so it means making the button and then doing something else (at that point, i got lost... i am NOT the computer person!)
ey7/40?
oh -- that looks like a type of insect *runs to look*
heh. yes, even you need oxygen! :P
is it some sort of fruit fly?
nope, insectivorous plant apparently
ey7 is what protects your ey4

suggest that he just use css -- it's quicker to reconfigure and looks good in nearly any browser if you set it up right.
neither of those. last ey
ah well...that is exotic.

I see he already knows the css, so it should make good sense to him.

I need to buy this quilt material. I am sooo displeased with the nursery colors chosen I keep putting it off.
ah. well, windows and fans work for cooling, without being quite so inviting...
have you told neighbor to buzz off?
nursery, red? something I haven't heard about?
TO, I put a block of ice in a pot and aim a fan over it for extra cooling power.
can't, he does favors every once in a while, like took my lawnmower to the service place in his pickup
Not for me. No pregnancy, I can not move my leg in the direction to make that happen yet.
In my recovery I have re-taken up quilt making.
rofl... okay red, 'nuff said! LOL
They picked this mustard yellow and Olive Green!!!!!!!!!
ewww
ah, I would love to get back into that as well ... so many things I want to start again; today I used my cricut machine for the first time in months. That is my destination when I am done here as well.
I am making a nice flannel quilt, but I fear it will make me want to barf. they live in Michingan so he will need a quilt.
*gag*
how retro of them, red!
there is retro and then there is just plan gag me
I guess. I am struggling a bit with the pattern and putting patterns together.
what about making those accents on a deep grey or brown? might be less hard on the eyes if they are not the totality of the colors
a bit of red, too... *considers possibilities*
I picked a nice stripe pattern that has a bit of red in it. and a great zoo pattern
Problem is I have a green polka dot backing, and then the stripes...?
for the front?
thank you Doxy, I have seen the nursery, it is actually Gag me, gag me.
this is an html color generator I use a lot, might be helpful for this as well: http://www.visibone.com/colorlab/
But, I get a feeling it, like many things....
thanks Stid, I will book mark it. I have 2 baby quilts I need to make, and then I am going to try the big bicycle quilt to thank my Physical therapist.
I admit, i am really excited about creating something again...
TO... How many left now?
I bought a kit yesterday for a baby quilt for my new grandson due in October. I found a cute zoo pattern in browns
good for you, red! I know that feeling. It is so nice for me to have the energy to be creative again as well as to be able to look around and have the energy to put something AWAY. . . hadn't realized how truly awful and soul-sucking that grad school was until it was over. I am still having occasional nightmares... *shudder*
Oooh Doxy that is exciting about the gradnson!
what fun, doxy! nice to have a new one to anticipate.
but I think stid, that grad schoolin the end was worth it!!!!
I think the salary will be nice, if I ever get employed as a result. However, this was a BAD experience for me. Very few redeeming moments.
I love the zoo theme!!!
i am done.
zoos are wonderful with little kids!
Fireworks
I think the teaching is something you enjoy..
Congratulations 72 Temple Owl on fireworks! Hooray!
Whoooo Hoooo Doxy!!!

Hi stidmama! How are U?Guess what,I got a teaching job for the summer. I will be teaching ESL teenagers.

Minver! that should be interesting.
All right, Min!!! well done you! :-D
see you all later. Have a good evening and will see you tomorrow.
Doxy, I can not tell you, though I appreciate you sharing my opinion on those nursery colors.
Have a lovely evening, all -- jes, I was so pleased to be able to see you this evening! Have fun with the critters!
*follows doxy out of the room* *poof*

Crossy what a idellyic (sp) image you captured in your accounting of the day.
We took Murphy for a walk, went to Farmers' Market and bought greens and cherries, made leek soup for lunch to eat with some rustic style bread with olives in it, had pie from Stidmama and her family (blueberry), and are going to watch tv.
last word was te 7/36 - adverb form of te 5/10

LOL ruru....rock on!
I would have been a lousy Father
I mean...hang on...I realize maybe you are not "celebrating" Planned Parenthood, as much as thinking back on a sad occasion. I realize I might have been really inappropriate in assuming you were kidding, so please forgive me

so how many words can I get in 15 minutes...just geting on...yikes
I never wanted kids

Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
hi nef!
our grandson left about 1/2 hour ago; now it's Babble time! :-) (We had a delightful day and a lovely overnight with him; his mother did not come today after acting badly last evening again)
any hints for the 7s, 8s and 0s tonight? I'm guessing that there must be lots of compound words; but they aren't jumping out at me so far ... I do have the ea7/8 combo
port
oops! Off to the PB I go!
ey7 compound word
mi7/8 central part of a 12-month period

Why?
i decided to audit some college courses
and?
so now i am doing physics at mit and life science at ucle
ucla
WOW cool.
and the great thing is that i actually UNDERSTAND it !!
Very cool, sammys!
i will never do anything with the knowledge but it give me a great deakl of pleasure and increases my smartass bragging rights
You could always find some way to use it. You could tutor
and its free... free i tell ya !!
THat's Wonderful, sammys! That's the best news yet!
i am 72 and have no desire to share knowledge or anything with the younger generation at this time... if i had to teach, i would probably kill on of the little buggers before noon of the f irst day
Not teach but tutor. As in afterschool stuff. Besides Grama teaching is awesome
My mum is in her 60's and she tutors people that have need help with English
i think all grammar school teachers should have their salaries tripled and they should be allowed to use corporal p;unishment and they should be candidates for sainthood and get fre beer
I agree with the salaries Tripled
actually, i do not have the patience to teach or tutor and admire those who do... actually am in awe of them
It is good to teach
probably raising 4 kids did me in,,, i think no 1 daughter destroyed my last nerve 40 years ago
hehe. Kids do that
I can't staay awake any longer. Grrandson took a tolll onme! Goood night and Happy Babbling All!

yay, cos!

P's done. they were easy
hi sue
hi, cos! back home?
237 left. not making it lol but at least i have nbt/nbs
yeah.. exhausted.
I'll bet! Sounds like it was a great conference, though.
howard dean was great.. stole the show as usual.. he started off his speech by saying "we're going to michigan, nevada, south carolina......." then screamed lol
then said "im not the party chair anymore. i can say what i damn well want to!"
I like him more and more as time goes on...
and when he said "koch brothers" he prounounced it "cock brothers" then said he did it on purpose hahaha
well, they are certainly screwing all of us...
my lunch with carol moseley braun was very nice too.
I've always been quite impressed with her (she was my senator for a while)
mine too.. she remembered me from volunteering for her in 1998
said "hey i have some time. lets grab lunch"
you lived in IL then?
yea born and raised in chicago,. my parents live in oak lawn now.
not sure if you remember dawn clark netsch? shes my political mentor.
ah - I think I knew that but forgot.
Sure I do! What a mentor to have! (she should have been governor)
got my start in politics with her campaign.
she is an amazing, amazing person.
jim edgar is my most hated politican because of the smear campaign he used on her: "dawn clark netsch is a tax cheat. the truth is as ugly as she is"
i still have thebuttons she made after that that says "Dawn Clark Netsch: Not just another pretty face" :)
politics is ugly.
lol
you would have loved the panel i went to about women and politics. moderated by barbara lee of the barbara lee center on women in politics and carol moseley braun! it was fascinating. ill try to scan some of the hand outs
sounds great!!
but the panel on obama and gays was better... "what do you do whent he president isnt' that into you?" ---
yeah, really.
next year it'll be held in providence, ri and the keynote will be keith olbermann
ooh, will that be great!!
i hope to go. its providence!
