Hi everyone - jilli, you did better than I, so many of our holiday pics were slides
never found a to 6 ...
Actually, I could tell a taleabout my icon -- I think I'll add it in the profile...
good idea
This grid looks tough.

has everyone had a shingle vaccination if you are 60 and over??
ra 6/30
my sister thought the vacine was too expensive so didn't have one. Well this last week she broke out with shingles.
snags, I'm on a waiting list -- no vaccine abailable here just now.
Her hubby went the next morning and had one.
Her hubby went the next morning and had one.
Be sure and get it. The things are terrible.
I come in at the weirdest times! Had shingles years ago. Have one of my coworkers mumps.
holiday tale told -- see profile.
GAVE ONE OF MY ....
I know -- a friend here got it last October and is still suffering the after-effects
great story Jilli, but horrible for hubby. :)
I wasn't aware of the vaccine! must talk to my Dr.
yes, poor guy!
Jilli, can you cross over into the states and have one??
hello all - over here our blood bank asks recovered shingle patients to donate blood - apparantly good for cancer patients
Dont put off the vaccine if you can help it. My sister in law has a useless right hand from them.
wow, quite a holiday jilli! How well I remember Hurricane Hazel
really ursh??
flosey, there's only one place giving the shot -- in Victoria. And snags, some friends went a couple of years ago to Bellingham, WA and got the shot. We're hoping there will be some here very soon.
Hope so too.
I'll be seeing him early July, so will ask then
flosey, you just have to make an appt at the place in Vic. Our docs have nothing to do with it, and it's not covered.
Insist if you havetooflosey.
Be firm............ :)
I am headed to bed....... take care all.
The vaccine is only about 50% effective but if it doesn't totally prevent shingles, it's not as severe, they say.
oh, will get the # from you then?
G'night snags and thanks for the advice.
Yes, flosey, I have it.
yes, thanks Snags
does anyone have a clue for the f word?

night jilli
so many words tonight you only get by monkeying
true there's some real curly ones
i get as far as I can and then use lickety to complete
oh, me too vanilla
just finished watching the new True Grit movie with hubby, rather enjoyed it... westerns not really my thing, usually
I've never seen the first one, rbud
I read that the new one was much truer to the book - John Wayne was nearly a buffoon in the first one, in my opinion
wasnt wayne always?
Jeff Bridges was pretty good in this one.
ah, I'd like him better too
he's aging nicely, I've enjoyed his newer movies. good parts.
I don't see many movies, simply because hubby doesn't care for them
a long way from Starman, haha.
sometimes see them while visiting with my kids
well, our dau rents a lot of movies, she got this one for her dad, has to be back tomorrow, so we stuck it in the player - we don't use the thing much.
we have one but don't know how to use it! Son coming Friday, he'll set it up for us
I guess since we both stayed awake through the whole thing, it had to be pretty good, haha!
the kids have the new fangled tvs, huge screen and all the new additions - like pausing a show if you have to take a phone call, or such
oh, too new for us, though it sounds intriguing, I have to admit. I keep telling people we're never getting any TV that won't fit in my 70's solid oak TV armoire, forget it.
don't blame you rbud, sounds like a nice piece of furniture
it is, stained glass doors, nice.
we have a very ancient tv in the bedroom - bought when the kids were in high school - now that's really going back
they're all in the 40s
:)
42, 43, 46, 48
I don't really like the big flat screens, the picture looks funny to me, I've stood in the store and shook my head over them.
guess I'm getting old, haha!
but movies are flat
I mean theatre movies
shoot, haven't been to a movie in 20 years, I imagine. Not sure why, just easier to wait for them to come out on DVD or even to regular TV. The kids go all the time, though. (they're 20 and 23 now)
well, it is nice to see them in the comfort of your home
one thing hubby doesn't like is the smell of popcorn
I used to go a lot when I was a kid, mom always sent us to the latest Disney movie or whatever was playing on the weekends, probably to gat some peace and quiet! :)
*get
back in the early 60's

Yes thanks
beautiful 9 today. Nice find!
Got that
good one, isn't it
Yes
I am playing whilst sitting in the garden.it is a lot cooler than yesterday, 93degrees
it is awful here today. It jumped from 20 C to 35 C in one day, and today is still hot, but no sun, thunderstorm threatening but not breaking. It is like wearing a wet blanket.
Mainly the same here in london
I will dance when the thunderstorm breaks :)
Shame iwill not be able to see it!
yeah... well we can dance together in spirit ;)
Morning all. : )
hi Molly :)
Fixing bacon and eggs for my son before he heads off to work.
aw lovely.
He's a counselor at a summer camp and absolutely loves his job. Nice to see someone happy to go to work.
oh that is so wonderful. My kids go to a summer camp and the people organising it are just the best.
not surprisingly I end up with only T words left.
This group he works for is top shelf as well. He's been working for them for five years now and still loves it.
Too many T's today.
I won't be surprised if my kids are going to end up helping on this camp either. In one or two years they are too old to come along as campers, so they may want to join as helpers :D
2 left...
last one was a 7 I should have seen way before. But... fireflies!@
anything I can help with before I leave?
say hi?
hi all
evening all :)
whoo hoo sprite
hi jmc, sprite et al :)
Hiiiiii jmc :)
hi mrP, how's life today? Fever abating?
sprite, have been sick all day and alseep... will get to your email i promise!!
hello everyone :)
hot/cold constantly
hi annie :)
hi Annie :)
poor mr p
hi annie
hi mrp :) --sorry youve got a fever
Hi jmc :)
mrP, my email can wait for as long as it needs, there is no rush whatsoever. Just concentrate on getting over the flu for starters, ok?
BTW, my profile pic is for a friday... had to use it cause there are quite a few clues with my pic in the grid today
""
stats (not clue) on the 9?
I am always looking out for friday word day clue and it comes up every other day!! LOL :))
lol good one. Sorry I have to go, all the best to all of you. *hugs*
st9
bye sprite, enjoy the rest of your day
when you look at the skies in the evenings, you see it, Annie
oh gods, I am so sorry. I thought Annie was asking, never saw Kaplan's post. Sorry Kaplan.
hi kap
ok, poofing before I make more of a mess ;)
bye sprite ((hugs))
bye sprite
it's ok- I was blind to the needed
cblo stuk in the grid
clear skies of the evening show this luminence
hi kap
I mean blind to the combo . I am having coordination problems tis morning
Kap, I've come to discover that "stats (not clue)" just doesn't work. Such is life.
it works some times
Sometimes it works.
it really depends on how crowded the chog is
I also figured out that when you answer that you should say "st9 - Stats for Kap" or someone will think you are asking. Living and learning.
who asks what when.
Who's on first?
that is a good suggestion molly
what's on second
or just ask for the clue. Now who will enforce this new policy?
Babbleland is anarchy. No rules, no enforcers.
nothing to enforce--just a good idea
*puts pb keys in a hidey hole*
*Sneaks around looking for the hidey hole*
*sits on hidey hole*
st**s for the Y please

(except the black ones of course)
Hey, there's breakfast in here.
mmmm breakfast
french toast with strawberries, maple syrup and marscapone???
i must be sick i am never hungry this early
You know, we are a C short of gin and tonic in the grid. Damn.
*Checks JMC for fever*
a little early in the day molly
I like to plan ahead. : P
haha
can't eat breakfast until about 11am ... same as you jmc??
*Looks around for limes*
i never liked breakfast--if i get up at 4 am i can eat around 7
it was tough growing up in the south--the land of really big breakfasts
you could have a killer gin! ;)
i just skip to lunch--even though i have read all the stuff about breakfast
we have tea and half a muffin for brekkie here... morning tea is our snack, then late lunch and small dinner
stuff that jmc, you do what your body wants to
but do have some type of sugar in the morning to kick start the brain
And I am the polar opposite. I have a better appetite between when I get up and 11AM than I do all day. I could skip lunch and dinner and survive on early morning breakfast.
i think i could have developed the habit if i had grown up somewhere that only did continental breakfast
i could skip breakfast and lunch and only eat dinner
with a body like yours MRP you can eat anytime you like - the rest of us - well we need to follow some 'rules' (PS that is a royal 'we')
i do that when i am going out for dinner... works fine for me too :)
I hear ya Lynxx
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day
well i am no skinny winny myself
oh lynxx!! you too kind! I did have to watch my food during my PCOS time... but now weight is normal and am doing bloody well since treatment of the nasty C too
okay i must be going to feed the cat (who does like breakfast) before the gym then off to close on my son's new house
Oh Yay! A happy day for you JMC.
see ya jmc :) enjoy
how exciting jmc - or is this all part of your new life as a legal type
bye jmc, great day
http://tinyurl.com/64eu38x
Morning Annie, fellow breakfast lover.
no this is just me as a mother! :-)

*starts up the helicopter*

BBL
oh how fun....]byebye lynxxx
so you have to replace your hot water heater?
Yes.
If it isn't one thing it is another...
how true, ugh
We were hoping to get the dining room floor finished this weekend. Now maybe not.
generally yes....bea...its called life...all u can do is roll with it..
oobla dee, oobla dah..
hi
herin ! hello, how are you?
pretty much my anthem aloy... just float through life like a piece of flotsam on the current... stear as best you can to avoid the whirlpools and rocks....and hope somewhere along the way you arent on the niagara river headed for the falls
hi herin...am so going to make beef curry this week and make the naan
I am ok but if I go it is because I have sketchy net
steer* even
ok.. have a mystery here - desktop connection is fine but nada on the laptop - will figger it out later
Carlee I am so so sorry that link didn't work stupid FB is being stupid. That naan you need to fry it and also stick close to the instructions apart from ovening it you end up with naan cookies
Aloy is your modem wireless?
unplug and replug in the wireless modem aloy
ty carlee, will do
how much oil herin? and what heat?
yes, wireless
That is a great Idea Carlee
That is a great Idea Carlee
anyone have a clue for to 7.40 ?
dont have it annie..sorry
Like you cook pancakes. I use garlic butter then fry till brown then dry on paper towel.
I just found it...
not there yet, Annie.. but will look
to + not day
thanks guys
another song from West Side Story now in my head, ty Bea
I was also going to add that after each naan you wipe the pan clean as the butter will burn and taste yuk
ok thanks herin... will do....
Hi Annie
Hi Bzz
might even make today...not sure when going grocery shopping...am avoiding the inevitable....
brb, need a bagel
Hi herin
.. talk of food and my tummy rumbles
am thinking beef curry done in slow cooker....basmati rice... and naan....yummmm
*hands Aloy a bagel with cream cheese on the side*
i can make some tziki on the side...
Carlee little bit of experimenting is ok. The worse you can do is burn them. I also found that I divide the large dough into half then get hand fulls and roll out till thin. Nearly see through thin. Do not over work and let sit for 15 min
http://tinyurl.com/2393tay In case you are all wondering this is what we are talking about
Dang it now you are making me want to get up and fry some bread with jam on it
phone
yeap..tonight..is the night..for making beef curry...
its just a must do...tunny is saying YES YES YES!! ( insert meg ryan in the diner doing an impromptu imitation.....)
I just made 4 pieces tonight and have the rest in the fridge
i'll fry it all... i will have teenagers at some point wanting foodage
I drove B nuts singing Naan Naan Naanny Naan Naan
I fry it when I want it. Cold naan is icky
pop in oven wrapped in a slightly damp dish towel on warm...
Point that.
or a toaster oven...
making my grocery list...i need virtually everything...
.. back with an onion bagel.. beef curry sounds wonderful
and i want fruit for grilling later this week...pineapple, banana, maybe plums????
it just sounds right today aloy...i havent been in mood for curry for a long time..but today it just feels... right...
and tomorrow i will make some french fries..and we can do left over curry with chips :)
I confess, have never fixed beef curry, always fix chicken curry
Oooo I have an AWESOME Idea for bananana
i usually do shrimp or chicken too or just veggie...
ag
but i do do queema ( ground beef and potato curry no sauce..is a dry currie)
curry* even
and ur idea herin?
You get a banana skin still on - wrap in foil leaving an opening at the length of the top of the banana. Then slit the banana down the non bendy bit. Stuff banana with Chocolate, seal the foil grill
banana boats...also add mini mashamllows
we do at camp all the time :)
When cooked you can tell that take off foil and carefully the skin and eat with ice cream or mascoponi cheese
mmmmmmmm.. Brilliant I don't have to explain it then
nope..u dont...its standard campp fire fare...its either smore's or banana boats
Have you seen the square marshmallows for smores?
no... but i use reese penut butter cups instead of choclit
I think Jiffy Puff make them
ok..gotta run.get dressed...get my arse in gear and get my groceries so i can make my curry
here is a sarter recipe aloy http://allrecipes.com/recipe/spicy-bee f-curry-stew-for-the-slow-cooker/detai l.aspx
ri5 tighty , lefty loosy
toodles all
thanks aloy

you guys are wonderful! You make me feel like cooking (and that takes a lot!)
Awww
Awww
hi ruby.. ooh, that beef curry recipe calls for a whole jalapeno pepper
just printed it out
when I was still doing elaborate cooking, I used to make whole Indian meals, including making my own fresh cheese for deserts
wow ruby
made lamb curry mostly plus a really simple lentil recipe if anybody wants it
and a wonderful, also simple, side dish of ground peanuts, coconuts and brown sugar
we should have a "what's for supper" chat every day - but only tried and true and delicious meals can be suggested
it was fun and interesting, but my energy is gone. I'd be happy to share any ideas if anybody wants them
I've become a lazy sloth in my old age!
speaking of which, Indian rendered buttrer is in here
( is that where this all started) I just came in to the room
no, carlee and herin started it
can't blame it on FM... where is she anyway? haven't seen her in ages
in the US, I made friends with various Indian ladies over the years, and they gave me great American substitutes for things like buffalo milk!
thinking.. what is close to buffalo milk?
e.g. Bisquick plus powdered milk into a stiff dough which you fry in a syrup flavored with saffron and cardamon to make gulab jam
jaman*
FW.. and I have to scoot, so off I go.. ruby, just cook what you feel like cooking and don't feel bad if it isn't elaborate.. sounds like you have been there and done that and now.. just have fun in the kitchen.. I love to cook now, but I didn't when I was constantly rushed.. ciao for now, Poof
{{aloy}}
hi again, all!
{{_sue}} how are you doing?
pretty good, ruby! how are you?
enjoying the hot weather, what a pleasure!
nice!! It is really nice here today, warm but not muggy and very sunny.
this is a funny grid, 5 gh words so far
the heat feels good on these old bones!
are things moving forward in a favorable way, sue?
no sleep for me!! Hi again ruby :) Hi usue :)
I only have three gh words so far but am just starting
hi, mrp! Is the flu getting better?
hi again mrp
oh so slowly sue!! how are things on your side of the fence?? everything settling down?
anybody have a clue for the 9?
sort of, mrp; it will be a long time before things are really settled but my son seems to be doing better
compound word, ruby, the only glow at ni*** if there is no moon
compound word too ruby
glad he is coming through ok.... poor child
I have an appointment with a therapist for him on Thursday - he may not want to go but I plan to insist - he's been through a very traumatic experience and has been in a dysfunctional relationship for 4 years
therapy is the best!! good for you sue!!
he needs to feel the pain and let it go
and to learn that he did nothing wrong (except love and trust someone who wasn't worthy of it)
is she still harassing him via text??
no, I've cut the connection between their phones and the police have warned her off
good job... great mum
this 'wire in the blood' is absolutely bloody fantastic!!
TV series, mrp?
the episode is 'justice painted blind'.
yes sue... amazing!
they only filmed three? series, they are like telemovies. it became too epensive for the BBC and they cut it. darn shame
just googled it - I could watch it on hulu
i love tony robson... excellent acting
well, hello there, MrP ::has difficulty making eye contact::
I think what really makes this series is getting to know the main characters and the relationship between them
hi eva!! LOL!!
I have a Tshirt for my son that says 'tell your boobs to stop staring at my eyes'!
your icon is in the grid today...heh
well, I have been waiting for ages for the friday theme, but every other day it is in there!
Eva, you just reminded me of that Saturday Night Live skit "Women With Eyes Where There Breasts Should Be"
<--- realizes that she needs to reload the page to see mrp's icon
i am nothing, if not subtle. ;)
their...
lol, erda, I was thinking that too...
Well, at least all the y-chromos will be happy.

Hi Nef! So happy to read the good news about your hip replacement.
yw
Thanks, I wish it would happen sooner, Molly
hi Nef - just read your profile. I AM way out of the loop! Hope things keep getting better!
yes, thx for the 2 ri6, hoot! And great picture!!
thanks, hoot. Life's been rather hectic here so I don't have time to play or chat as much
I've been fighting the weather! Either no power or having to shut down because of the lightningz1
Are you an owl fan too sue?
time for me to go to work - see you all later!
Everyone had such nice icons today
ok - bye for now
and yes, hoot, I like lots of different animals, there is a great horned owl family that always nests near the biology building on campus
and now I really am leaving :-)
It's amazing! BF has them at work and I have NEVER seen one in the wild!
got the 8, plus have NBT. Still need the 9 for NBS though
They are beautiful birds, and symbolic of magick, prophecy and wisdom.
Holler if you want a clue for the 9 Nef.

I'll agree with the rest

bye guys
back. A nurse friend had to vent about her Dad; she's very long-winded
And everyine left
everyone who's chatty I guess
Hi again Nef
hi Molly
how's everything going with you?
Not bad.
does that mean "not good" also?
No, I'm doing well. I just had some fresh tomato/vegetable juice that I made last night. Whee, I was a little heavy handed on the tabasco.
that sounds really good! Our tomatoes are way behind -- all of our veggies are this year
This was all from store bought stuff. My garden tomatoes are still small and green, but looking very healthy.
(I keep trying to make words out of letters that are already blackened out; must need coffee!)
And I noticed two blossoms on the zucchini plant last night, which is nice because I thought I was losing that plant.
I haven't been out to the garden sinceSunday; the strawberries are probably being eaten by all the bunnies by now
we've found at least 3 nests of bunnies in our yard this year. My daughter goes out there and catches a bunny and bringsd it in for DH's Aunt to see
They are cute, but they will eat up your vegetable garden no doubt.
they eat the veggies,we eat the rabbits, the circle of life:)) hehe
I haven't eaten rabbits since I was young, crossy. We had neighbors that raised them (not sure what wild rabbits would taste like; not crazy about some wild meats taste like
i am just joshing with you nef, they have a gamy taste and are rather oily and best suited for stews only
not something i actively seek out for dinner;)
besides scrabbs would kill me:)
I don't like the gamy taste. When DH was a hunter, he'd go up to a friends' farm and they'd bring back venison that had been corn fed. It was delicious! But another friend would hunt in Wisconsin and the venison had a gamy taste-- too many acorn fed deer there!
and if you are in the bush and in need, porcupine is better anyways
EEEWWW! Thanks, but no thanks! (I live in the City!
acorns can make meat bitter, acorn meal can make a suitable bush flour, but only after it has been soaked for 24 hours and rinsed well, then dried
No eating bunnies!!!
crossy will not eat the bunnies kap
thank you
If forced into survivalist mode, I would be fishing while others hunted.
and a wounded deer run too long can make meat inedible.a deers heart and blood works are an amazing thing.if you just wound a deer and do not bring him down cleanly,he can run for hours and hours, replacing his blood loss easily, but the iron build up in the meat gets crazy.so rule number one is,if you cannot do a clean kill,do not take the shot
I promise not to ever shoot a deer, crossy
lol,i am sure that is best nef
(not an hunter; I'll join Molly at the fishing hole)
I shoot deer with my camera, that's it.
we get amazing salmon here nef come onver and i will take you fishing
Nef, I think I'd go live where I could shrimp. It's amazing how much shrimp you can trawl in an hour.
i am good a foraging mushrooms and other veggies in the woods
hi all
mmmmmm..shrimp,with a bucket of burbling garlic butter....
We went fishing up on Lake Superior and also Lake Michigan a few times. I always caught the biggest salmon without trying; had to have someone else finish reeling them in for me
here for a few minutes
i caught a 40 pound salmon once...took 25 minutes to bring him in
howdy jmc
morels! Jmc, I had several morels in my front yard this year! They were so good!
Foraging is a good skill.
that is not a good eating size though..ten to eighteen pounds is best
*starts chopping dill*
morels are especially easy in a way since they look like nothing else
wtg nef
Salmon with dill and lemon butter. The best.
should of been here at fiddlehead time..was chaos lol
I caught a 20 pound salmon on each of 2 trips. DH threatened not to take me any more
sorry crossy the canadians can keep fiddle heads
lol nef..it is a truth that the one in the boat with the least experience will always catch the biggest fish lol
I'd love to try fiddleheads. I've read so much about them
the season for them is so short..2 to 3 weeks tops
better than rape from WV
Ooops! gotta run! Taking DH's AUnty to the mall to buy her some smaller clothes. She says it's time (she's been sleeping in the chair for over an hour now)
and you always have to leave 2 on a plant
bye nef
tc nef
BYE! BBL!
i must go too
bbl
yummy -- lunch is served!!
And what are we dining on today Ms Short And Blond?
today is chorizo + cheese wrapped up in a crescent roll (2 of those) and a side salad with field greens, boiled egg, corn, carrots, blue cheese + dried cranberries with a balsamic vinaigrette
i also have a snack pack for dessert. ;)
Wow! That sounds delicious.
hi all, help with st9 pls
What shines from the twinklies in the sky Peri
mmmmm. *sits next to EvaN and nibbles daintily* hey all, about to take a "webinar" on use of technology in education, but couldn't resist popping in...
duh, had both words, did not think to put them together, ty
it IS, molly! and surprisingly, this was a "fridge cleanout" meal!
bbs
*Fluffs a pillow for Stid in case she nods off*
A+ on leftover usage Eva.
last night i served these with salsa, but i forgot to bring some + they didnt have any in the caf, so i grabbed a little thing of hot peppers. going to use these sparingly...
just coined a phrase "pit stick" as in: teenagers should use one first thing in the morning, especially in the summer!!!!!
i have recently discovered that you could wrap up pretty much anything in crescent rolls, pizza dough, phyllo, or wontons, and it somehow just tastes better...heh
stid, as my hubby would say, they need some DO for their BO
Going without deodorant in my house was non-negotiable. I have three sons, I know what happens when that gets ignored.
LOL evaN!
okay, I am off to the seminar... see you soon! *poof*
I'm all for anything wrapped in dough Eva. Especially if it involves cheese.
im still working on figuring out how to stuff more filling in here...it seems so full when i try to wrap them up, but then the crescent roll gets all puffy when it bakes, and it seems more roll than filling...
good evening everybody
My stromboli is simply frozen bread dough, defrosted and rolled into a rectangle, then layered with pepperoni, ham and white American. Roll it up, bake it and slice it when cooled. My kids beg for that stuff.
Hi Ruby
i made something similar once, only i did it calzone-style... strombolli may be a little easier...
Try rolling the crescent dough thinner Eva.
i think i will try that next time. that was the epiphany i had after doing it this time...heh
You can use anything for the filling. Italian sausage, cheese and onion is another one I make. I know someone who does a cheeseburger one.
And how is our Ruby today?
our "our ruby" is hot! It is about 95F, very rare for here
and ty for the st9 clue, I didn't even have the beginning of it...doh me
Ruby, you are always hot, whether it's 95 degrees out or not. : P
:D
may I have stats for the 7's? I don't even know where to start!
ar 7/28, st 7/32 and to 7/40
there are 2 x ra6, any clues please?
thank you. I'm putting the monkeys to work
ra + my pants are too **** (alternate spelling)
thanks molly
man-o-man, those chorizo rolls were so yummy....and i still have a ton of meat left at home, so i think i may have to make a few more batches tonight! i have been looking up healthy recipes today (not that my chorizo rolls are healthy) and i have a lot of inspiration, so i may go into a cooking frenzy tonight!
ty for the ra6
Any clues for the gr6
meaning free, gr6
gr6 is another way of saying thank you
chorizo rolls sound like Spanish pigs-in-a-blanket
ruby, they kinda are. i have done them im phyllo dough, which gets kinda crispy, sorta like an egg roll... but this bath is done in crescent rolls, so they are kinda soft...
fireworks
the other ra6 is describing something shoddy or unkempt. Starts with what you clean with, ends with a childs game.
hello again everyone
hello river
they sell packaged phyllo dough here made with butter and it's wonderful. I'll have to try it with chorizo as I never thought of that
and thanks again Molly
Eva, chorizo freezes well if you don't want to use it all right now.
Got is thanks!
great clue
lovely clue, molly
I must get back to work - have fun all
molly, i think this has already been defrosted...i believe once defrosted, meats shouldnt re-freeze?
Correct Eva. Cook away!
Fried, crumbled chorizo, a can of Rotel tomatoes and some melted Velveeta cheese makes an awesome nacho dip.
yup. i will try to get my dinner for tonight (hubby is at soccer, so im flying solo) and our dinners for tomorrow night too (i have running, so i sorta have half-a-dinner before and another half-a-dinner after)
<--- Is floored that Eva's husband will eat chorizo.
oh wow, he LOVES chorizo!! sausage in general, but especially chorizo -- he actually bought this batch!
missing et6, any clues please?
Crystal m*** + charged particle
one of my favorite recipes that i did aws chorizo + goat cheese in phyllo dough. hubby doesnt eat goat cheese, so i did regular shredded cheddar for him. we both LOVED them! it was a ton of work, with the phyllo, but hubby liked them so much he told me he would help next time...heh
et + greeting + not off
Oh that sounds good Eva. I would opt for the cheddar too.
does he like merguez, eva?
thanks ruby
and that's fireworks
what is that, ruby? its new to me...
*Makes a note not to use drug clues anymore*
yay flosey
ty for et clue milly
it is spicy lamb sausage, our local halal butchers all make their own
must run, hubby will be back and have errands to run - getting ready for son & family arriving Friday morning from Toronto
Fresh ground sausage is the best.
Bye Flosey have fun.
we eat white sausage for weekend breakfasts
ty Molly, will for sure, first time our two grandsons will be meeting, one 13, the other 2
ruby, i would LOVE it, but hubby doesnt eat lamb. he claims it tastes funny, but he also admits he hasnt had it since he was a kid. i had considered sneaking it to him and telling him it was something else, but i dont wanna be THAT sneaky...heh
bye and good luck with the grid, be back at flip
husband wouldn't eat lamb until I introduced him to couscous and memerguez
he was used to his mother's lamb chops
stats for the f? it stands between me and nbt
and marinated leg of lamb cooked on a spit
i keep trying to explain to him that our tastebuds change as we grow up and that a lot of things he may not have liked as a kid he might like now. i was SUPER picky as a kid and hated most foods, but i try almost anything now -- and have found i like a LOT of things i didnt like as a kid!
I can't see what I'm typing, hence the typos. sorry
fy5/20
ty ruby
fy + double consonant + vowel
ty molly :)
I think I tried all other permutations
Dammit! Sorry Harry, I missed your request for stats. Going to the PB now.
molly (milly), the reliable, may I have a clue for the to7, please?
hi harry

Ruby, not today, but... (evening)
are there any words starting with to*, part of the foot? you could call a sock a to*hat
I have no sevens...but I have the 8 and 9
No toe words Ruby.
slap me with a fish!
I know Ruby, I felt the same way after searching for that word.
oh - that was a clue :) now I have a 7
I was thinking of using a West Side Story clue, but I'm never sure who is up on musicals here.
or maybe to*****'s the ni***
to7, to7, the s4s will shine to7
gonna be all ri5
<---loves West Side Story

Hey Lbd
hi molly!
13 left, going for the list
omg! How do you get so many words?
I have 68 left
It takes some getting used to. And people help with clues sometimes.
i've been playing a long time, after a while you just know what words to try.
ladytraveler for a first time, you are doing good. I still have 78 to go
I hope with practice it gets better!
thanks Mary
lady traveler, you are doing great! just keep plugging along, and try different spellings, i.e. US spelling vs British spelling, and sometimes just stupid spelling! ;-)
I've been doing alot of the stupid spellings. lol Thanks for the tips LB
Lots of stupid spelling. Lots.
lol
teta
sorry again!!
No problem, you'll get used to switching from box to box.
finito!!
Yay LBD!!!
wow!!
compound words nearly choked me!
texty
I'm an idiot!!
nope, just a newbie! :-)
congrats ibdawger. Ladytraveler that's the reason I avoid chatting. You'll get use to it.

LOL LBD!

welcome ladytraveler! hey all!
hi there stiddy. for dinner I am making pepers stuffed with quinoa and morningstar crumbes and feta ceese
ty stid and peri
57 left and stuck
it is a very addicting but fun game and most of the people here are very nice
sounds good, peri! We are having food, as yet unspecified! *grin* I have been trying to get myself back on track with some online coursework today. And running errands.
I made quinoa for my students for a lesson and the loved it. Everyone tried it.
has anyone seen or heard from BR, bad flooding in his area
Is stiddy in the PB? Looks like it from the SMILE.
no one else will eat it here, more for me :)
Peri, that dinner sounds awesome!

Good afternoon, anyway!

clue for the ar7 please
hi all...
i am back to try and enjoy t his grid...
Hey purple foot
hiya molls
this grid doesnt look any better after a day in the garden pulling weeds and such
ar + ooposite of yes + couble consonant + vowel
And what is growing in your garden?
Argh, double consonant.
atm?....she has mint EVERYWHERE
Oh, well...there is only so much you can do with mint. I only have one plant.
i have no idea what the hell the woman was thinking...purple irises ( the mounds are choked and in desperate need of thinning this year )...and MINT
i have about 40 around the perimeter of the yard
ty
they are gorgeous..and healthy...and.minty
What in the hell does someone do with that much mint?
i have 1 red rose ( a climber) and i have grapes......
i have NO freakin IDEA
i will pull most of it... and i will attempt to dry most of the leaves..so i have lots of dried mint for tea... but..seriously...40 freaking plants (give or take)..i kept wondering why my dog comes in smelling minty...NOw i know...
the stuffed peppers are in the oven. had to cook the quinoa first and preheat the oven, taking longer than I had expected. hope they taste good
That's about all I use mint leaves for, is tea. My roses are not doing so well this summer. *sigh*
now back to find my last 54 words
Hi Peri.
hey Molly
Sounds like it smells good at Chez Peri. : )
Chez Peri, ha ha
I will share the recipe if it turns out ok

But I am liking the Chez Peri :)

Jeff, is that a papillon?

we got him last summer from a rescue group
he was 2 YO and only weighed 3.8 pounds then
he is cute, glad he has a good home now
now he's around 6.5 pounds and doing well

I'll never forget being at my son and girlie-in-law's college graduation party. That was my first exposure to beer pong. I can't believe people actually play that game intoxicated.

was he standing outside whilst giving that forecast? :/
DC, right??
that's a lot, lil, but not out of the question in an intense storm
power was out from about 4:30 until a few mins ago
Cos, second st 5/14 is st 4/6 with an extra vowel in the middle.
no Wolvie, Newport News, Virginia... about 3 hours southeast of DC
my second st 5/14 st plus sounds like egg maybe
lol
ah
at least i remembered VA. lol
yes indeedy! tis Virginia
hmmmm egg?
Lil, stop attracting all that electricity right this minute!
ha! I can't help it molly
Cos, the st4 that is a deer with an extra vowel in the middle
i know - ends like the insurance GIA nt that failed , lol - just reverse that start
got it thanks for the clue guys
hi, molly!
Hi Sue
uh oh now the TV is broadcasting the severe weather alert ag5
st7 too?
bummer, lil!
st4ga4 is NOT a word? horrors!
i said the exact same thing word for word last night lil!
it was a great movie!
except for "horrors"
and tv series :)
just looked at your weather map, lil, if you are in the city the next set of storms may miss you but there's another set after that
what city, uusue
well all - bb later - have to make supper. :-)
this is Hampton Roads, there are about 7 cities
I was looking at Newport News
later Wolvie, nice to see you !
no i am not in Newport News proper... I am on the York River in Yorktown
Oh great Lil, just looked at the weather map. What you have is headed my way. *Goes to charge all charge-ables*
sowwy Molly!
brb rurnning to 7-11 to get a refill before the rain starts
Well, by the way it looks, it will hit overnight.
run cos run!
run cos run!
*Wonders what Cos is refilling at 7-11*
There are storms around Hopewell that are headed your way, lil, but they don't seem to be moving fast
OK thanks for the update
there's a bigger clump over by Lynchburg. The whole thing looks spotty, though, with storms forming, dissipating, and reforming, so it's hard to tell
I find word of mouth combined with looking out the window and flipping a coin are much more accurate than what the TV weather idiots say
Hi all. Just starting and have many words to go before I sleep but if I take the road less traveled, it might be better. I see Lil*monk you don't properly live in Newport News. We did years ago live in Denbigh. Kids went to the schools and we loved Williamsberg, etc.
I like to look at the maps myself, if possible
hi, gmere!
Spot on about the weather Lil.
oh there's a story on the news that is about to make me cry... did yall hear ? The elderly woman who was searched at the airport and was forced to remove her Depends so she could be searched. How horrible.
We are map people but understand some people have no afinity for them.
Hi uu. Makes you want to not travel by airplane these days, doesn't it.
Yes Lil, TSA needs to be disciplined for that.
oh stidgemere, small world eh?
Hi Grand Mere.
Truely, also lived in South Carolina near Sumter long ago. The city, not the fort.
Stidgmere, I am in Yorktown village, by the battlefields.
it wouldn't happen if they would just profile people atsecurity
oh no! I hear sirens ag5
What do u mean, ldaytravel?
<--- just flew from Chicago to Newark, really like the new scanners
the TSA thing on the news
like El Al does, lil (I have flown them too)
ok back
Loved Yorktown and Cornwallis Cave. Great Greek restaurant there 30 years ago.
did someone clue the st7 yet
uusue, the new scanners? Are those the ones where they can see you naked?
stidgmere, I live up the hill from the cave, I can walk there. The Greek restaurant is long gone, I heard it was totalled during Hurricane Isabel
those are the ones, lil - I have metal knees so with the new scanners I just get scanned and go on with my business. otherwise I have to have the full patdown, which doesn't offend me but does take a long time
Only time I look thin is on the xray machines.
no i don't think so, cos
lmao
ahh, places the same but change happens.
ladytravel, what did you mean by profile
Cos...go up a ****rcase + *** Golden Girls
thanks molly :)
old ladies with depends have never blown us up!
i was close. kept using the r which was my problem
that st7 is WACK
been through it with El Al, lil - they have trained screeners who have a little conversation with you about where you are going, who you are visiting, why you are going - they are very good at spotting suspicious people.
4 left.
Yeah, well profiling doesn't work either. My niece was detained because she has dark hair and dark eyes and her name was close to a person on the "person of interest" list.
when i flew to MN 2 weeks ago... the lady behind me had some muslim garb on and she was asked to go ina special room i thoguht it was disgusting
then we're back to screening everyone including old ladies with depends!
well, there is smart profiling (based on actual interviews) and stupid profiling (based on physical appearance and name coincidences). smart profiling can go a long way. Like I say, the Israelis use it and they have about as much experience with terrorism as anybody
I'd rather screen everyone and be safer than not!
REgardless of how anyone feels about someone in muslim garb, I still think it's ridiculous to search an old lady in a wheelchair and have her take off her Depend
fireworks
The US has a lot to learn about profiling. And trust me, I know people who have gotten jobs with TSA and it doesn't take much.
Yay Cos!!!
main problem with what the Israelis do is that it requires intense training and the process itself is time consuming
the story is that the depends showed a suspicious spot on the screening
and yay, cos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTG cos!
what? ladytraveler?
Have you noticed how stringent our TSA screeners are and then coming back from overseas they just put you on the plane.
and TSA will not be paying for intense training!
if you are flying to Israel you have to arrive about twice as early as when you are flying to other places
<--- No comment on a "suspicious spot" in a Depends.
suspcious spot?
lol Molly
so if you want to hire a bunch of people at minimum wage and give them a few hours worth of training you are going to be stuck with what we have now
yeah, that's what the story was saying
More like a suspicious splot. Oops, I commented.
what does that mean, ladytraveler?
and I assume the suspicious spot was because the Depends were wet and therefore opaque to the x-rays (which only scan the surface, not like a medical x-ray)
OMG that poor lady
what are you asking?
I'm asking what did they mean by a suspicious spot
Old lady packs explosive in her diaper! News at 11!
apparently the lady herself (a retired nurse) wasn't particularly distressed by the incident but her daughter was so upset that she had to take a later flight
maybe she had a vibrator with her?
I'm not entirely sure
LMAO LOL
lmao
sure shes old but doesnt mean she has urges ya know
*note to self: leave the kitty buzzer at home next time*
There is not enough space or time here to tell you the stuff my TSA friend employees have found in luggage. One word...KINKY
well give one example, Molly... LOL
S & M paraphernalia neatly stored in zip loc bags.
Ew! hahahhahhaa
All kinds of people in the world!
Okay, icky news. Apparently there has been a rash of stun gun robberies at ATMs late at night. Take care folks.
Inever go to the ATM at ngiht!
walk-ups or drive-ups? or both? (I'm guessing walk-ups)
Smart Lil. In these tough economic times, criminals are resorting to all kinds of new moves.
but I never go to the ATM much at all as I am usually too broke to get any money out...
Drive ups Sue, that is what's startling.
Really!
interesting!
I almost never use ATMs. I am more likely to get cash back at the grocery store.
Dinner is ready at Chez Peri!! The veggie stuffe4d peppers trned out pretty well.
Ooo la la Mmme. Peri
MMmmmmm sounds good Peri!
yummy, peri!
Speaking of GOOD...I found Heath Bar bits to put in cookies at Wal-Mart today. There are some good cookies in our forecast.
<--- lines up for cookies
oh yes, Molly, I hve used those before
they are EXCELLENT
I think they will be awesome in brownies too.
Mmmm yes!
You're all making me want dessert
I am going to make an easy verions of Pan au Choclat this weekend. bought puff pastry for the first time today.
I made zucchini brownies the other day YUM
I need to go to Wal-Mart more often. Some of their grocery items are way cheaper than the grocery store. For instance, I pay 4 bucks and change for a large jar of Miracle Whip at the grocery store. 2.50 at Wal-Mart. And there were about ten other similar items at half the price.
sounds delish, lil
hi all...good time to come to the chog...I am still recovering from the BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE I had today. Yes, you read that right.
I buy Yoplait at Walmart, the price difference is almost 40 cents per cup, Molly
<--- agrees with Molly about Walmart
I totally hate shopping at Wal-Mart, but I can make a once a month early morning run for prices like that.
all the meat is cheaper too! oh and Perrier water, which I am addicted to, is about $3 cheaper per six pack
I go at the crack of dawn on a Sunday, it's usually pretty quiet then
Lil, Wal-Mart or Sam's Club?
I hate shopping at Wal-Mart but love their prices
Walmart, molly
OK i gotta run for a bit, BBL
No one is impressed by BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE? I about fell off my chair when I saw it.
*sneaks a piece*
walmart is too far away for me and so is sams club
sounds awfully rich, Krista
ar6 pls

hi TO
hi, jmc!
hi all
hey jmc
a + not wrong, peri
these clues are baffling to me!
It was a thin layer of baklava, so the sweetness was cut by the cheesecake part. Still sweeter than I like, but heavenly.

You've written a book? Do tell.

i don't really have enough sun for sunflowers.... it's tempting, but i find it hard to have a tree cut down
nice imagethere crossy
Mother Nature took down a tree in my front yard about 10 years ago and PRESTO I had sun! LOL
Please clue to 7 for me. What is the third letter .
to7 -- famous song from West Side Story
i've had one of mine fall, and another of my neighbors.. but there are so many huge oaks here... it would be a big job, have thought of finding some artistic arborist to trim just the right branches... would probably cost a fortune though
lol, leave it to une to find a broadway musical for a clue
today the minutes seem like hours . . .
of course! LOL
here are some nice pics of it..
http://www.collingwoodtrails.ca/Harbou rview_Arboretum.html

Hi everybody. How are you all this evening?
i am reading one of our very own home grown authors this week Farley mowatt. reading three of his works....grey seas under, followed by the serpents coil and will finish with one of his i have not read before called "aftermath:)
howdy nef
love farley mowat
lighe
did he write The Siberians?
this game is soooo frustraring!
I love Farley Mowatt and his stories of the boat that would not float. Also his description of the city folks who fell in love with all the ancient granite.
*frustrating
that's why we play it I think, lady :-)
no one has the ar 7???
I didn't even know there _was_ an ar7
lol
rur, are you playing mind games with us?
nope..it's my last a
drat.
this grid is a stinker
ruru, try the ai 4/4 - a vowel + a man's name
?? ai?
it's an AR?
yep
yep (that'a the - the vowel part
MINUS a vowel
does that make more sense?
no.. you've lost me completely.
AI4/4 Minus the second vowel (the i) Plus a man's name.
I'm lousy at cluing I guess sorry
I got it from your clue, Nef. (eventually)
I am really sorry I don't get it.
ar + do *** pass go + go directly ** jail
OH! The man's name! From the movie Beaches, Bett Midlar sang a song about the guy who supposedly invented the bra. His name was **** Titslinger according to the song
thank you both.. ugh..

I promise no more cluing for me for the evening

Go, ruru! You can do it!
finally!.. the ra 6/30 was killing me

It's a nasty, twisty word.
I like that word!
I mean the way it works out in the grid.
okay. I agree it's twisty
heeth
Ooops! Sorry
LOL
now i have done the tidbit of the day but i MUST share this word....
Mamihlapinatapai: A look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but which neither one wants to start.
what language is that crossy?
it is first nation i believe
either unuit or one of the first nation tribes....you will have to google it
inuit*
I like that looks of it; and the way I read it sounds good too
it is a good word for a special time
Googling it it comes oup as Chilian and the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamihlapi natapai
up
still a perfect word
a word to describe a feeling of expectation,of nervousness,of perhaps a future..maybe love...
or more likely lust
that as well
ahh,the heat ..when your hearts beat as one..of giving your all and yielding to your instincts...of just staring into each others eyes for hours...
of reading more into the contraction and dialation of a a pupil and the flush of the skin that a million words could tell...
LOL! or whatever (I censored myself; don't know how many kids are here)
it is clean enough nef..it is all harliquin romance stuff dredged from my brain atm
well what *I* was writing wasn't! ;-)
I was into the ripping clothes thing.... ;-)
ahhh, bodice rippers...:)
shirts and such
oh, well, time to list for me. I can't see anymore words at this point
his hot breath upon your neck, sending out a message tothe pulse of your fevered bloodjust below the surface
lol
i can write pulp crap with the best of them:)
Crossy! It's getting hot in here!
oh my - what did I walk in to?
just a harliquin romance bodie ripper contest
okie dokie ;)
bodice
I think that that was in every single romance novel I ever read. I never read many of them; because they all started sounding the same after about 6 or 8 books
Hi TNC!
i can talk about bacon if you like
oooh, bacon - I can't have it anymore
Hi, Nef
i sould not have it either
damn kb
BTW, it is hot in my house. DH's Aunt is here and she likes it warm; we've been humoring her; but it's now 85 degrees (F) inside and only 80 outside.
I would like to try chocolate covered bacon
it would probably make me throw up!
that is crazy nef:((
it is, that's too freaking hot
i need it 70 or so inside..fans and lots of open windows...crossy does not do ac
she's 85, has lost 30 pounds since March (depression issues) and her place had a fire in the building and now she's with us. I just opened the windows and told her to put on the snuggly over her sweateer
my dad is like that, always cold
sweater
so she is 100 pounds soaking wet,no wonder she is cold
No body fat left to keep her warm I guess
my mil is going like that and it is hard on my mrs...
happens so fast
yes it does and it is hard on us
we are supposed to have snow tomorrow in the mountains and then over 100 on Monday - sheesh
i can relate nef..my mil..will not last out the end of next year at this point if this continues
and it seems to be no specific thing, just a general decline in all areas
TNC, that is crazy weather! Either stay out of the mountains or out of the valley!
stoopid weather!
hi everyone. weather in Sacramento strange also ... pouring rain here. By the end of June it's usually 100 degrees and nary a sprinkle until October. geesh!

aa5! poor Nef and DH!
i always tell my coworkers nef, that if you are cold put more clothes on, i can't take any off!

always good to make ru work for the answer! lol
he was not getting my clues at all
i'm sure your clue was just fine, Nef. sometimes we just can't wrap our minds to what's there. i know mine doesn't always figure out the clues given
brb, need more ice
I told him the ar7 was ai4/4 minus a vowel + a man's name; then later told him the man's name was also from Beaches **** Titslinger
Just for the record Nef, I know of Mr. Titslinger. : )
that is one of my favorite scenes
mine too, doxy
Molly, a real person with that name? Or the song?

That to 7/40 word is the opposite of today dan2bit.
I always wanted to have 5 or 6 kids. I was told that I couldn't have kids when I was 20; but we did manage to have 2 (that turned out to be busier than 5 or 6 I think!)

but hubby was one of 6 and i was one of 5 and we thought 3 was just ri5
what charlie brown often vocalizes, car.

firewords
mr furball is doing well. A bit miffed tonight at not getting all the attention he feels due. Too hot to snuggle a lot
Washington had a ra6 army at Valley Forge
yay wild!
YAY wild!
YAY, Wildcat!!!! WTG!!!!
ooh and thanks for the RA 6
I'm sure he's neglected and abused, the poor thing
what a horrible life he must lead
i should be reported to the aspca for sure
poor poor wee little kitty...
I might have to remove him from your care for such treatment
should I put him on the bus?
please
My two hounds are also abused ... no play today, too rainy. You should see the looks. I should be reported.
really ori. the nerve of you to not stop the rain for them
pack some dead mice, catnip, ground raw turkey and his back scratcher, comb, brush
all the basics
what, no raincoats and booties?
I'm sure they believe I have the power to do so and just don't love them enough to make it happen.
I tossed down lucky's tug from the roof today... I hate ladders.
or something like that
oh! and I collected more than a pint of strawberries from my untended garden this evening!
i think there's a massive research project going on among our animal friends...hmmmm, interesting how she reacts when I turn my back and pretend she doesn't exist.....different from the response I get when I pounce on her foot in the middle of the night. These humans are endlessly entertaining
the deer ate all my strawberry plants
the deer can't find my strawberries in all the weeds... but they took out one of my favorite (unknown) roses.
the bunnies ate my strawberries
aww stiddy
well I still have to get the trash out for tomorrow's pickup so I will bid you all a good night. hugs to the furball eva (and you too :))
to you and yours too wild
The heat killed my strawberries, despite the fact that it is now cold and rainy.
sweet dreams wild
oh the weather is just awful... everything here is late - if it's still alive
rice and mangoes may have to replace maple syrup around here
we have 3 rabbit nests in our yard that we know of; the darn things have eaten almost all the strawberries in the whole patch
It's peculiar weather. The figs though seem to really love it.
good news is that I saw at least one bat flying around feeding tonight!! Very exciting as almost all of them around here have died of white nose fungus
that is such an awful disease for the bats! We don't have it here yet; but I'm sure it will make its' way here in the near future
incredibly sad
that is very good news EvaN -- we have plenty of bats here, but the bug population is a little low from the cold weather
i hadn't seen one in a while so it really lifted my spirits
our bug population is way up because of the rain, and the lack of bats
oops- sorry Eva, my figners were typing without me.
It would be nice if they could find out what causes it
and a bumper crop of slugs and snails
talented fingers
hi ho
hey good!
if only i liked escargot in garlic butter
oh my time to change my icon
hi God!
time to go to sleep. Be well
ick. I don't like snails. eating is them is yuckier than stepping on them.
oh you flatter me nef
sweet dreams Eva!
LOL Nef is taking away letters and I am adding them in.
ACtually should head out. up to 97 words which is pretty good.
100 words...
but its early there stid
Oh dear.! I'm watching "How it's Made" and am not paying attention to my typing now
I am tired -- have been getting up early to get stidkid to 8:30 rehearsals (tom has been ill so trying to let him sleep in a bit). and since tom's not sleeping well neither am i
that not sleeping well is contagious
go and have a good ni*** sleep
yep. so tomorrow I am up early because the roofers might be here. I have plenty to do, just with I knew for sure! LOL
thanks good (((hugs all))) enjoy the rest of the evening! *hands out choclits * *poof*
niters, stid!
yay choclits
aril
DANG!
Off to the PB once more for me!
ty nef. didn't have that one
neither did I til then. Monkeys are working overtime now
hmm i suppose i could join you on a technicality
it's pretty hard to chat without the word you typed
yes i think in the unofficial top secret rules it is allowed
the rules for chatters anyway
blah im stuck
me too with 41 left. How about you?
hi all, 87 to go here, how's everyone?
unstuck now, down to 35
hi Gwen
71 to go, zip zip
afternoon all :))
mrp, what cleavage you have! lolol (is that for a holiday in australia?)
hi mrp. How are you doing?
clue for the ni6/33 please
something you wear to bed, snags
what happens if you wear sweats and overshoes and a sheepskin??
no one sleeps with you?
lol, yes hubby does, that why all the odd clothing !! Just teasing.
where does the sheepskin go? on second thought don't answer that? lolol
I take it you understood my clue then! :-)
lolololo
yes I did, thank you Nef and I am kicking myself............ duh
underneath the heels, Gwen
My apparel that I mentioned was something my first honey told everyone I wore to bed!! He even mentiong the overshoes were 4 bucklers. !! :)
That was his sense of humor.
(this conversation is now way over my head) lolol
lolol mine too Gwen
did you kick him with the overshoes? those buckles might catch on something then
sheepskin under heels helps prevent pressure sores in sick elderly people (I worked in ICU for 34 years-- does it show?)
Well the way he described it, no one intheir right mind would find anything even slightly appealing.
nef, you mean while walking, or sleeping, or what?
sheepskin was used whenever there would be pressure on the feet. Usually in bed; but also it could be used if they were up in a chair too
how do you keep it on? adhesive?
sorry, popped in and said hello and then got phone calls ***HUGS*** to all
the sheepskin was large and would lay on the bed (or on the chair footrests) and then we'd put the patients' feet on top of that
Nef, back when I started working as an aide at the local hospital, small town of 2500 ppl or so, we did the work of an Rn with the exception of shots. We did everything else. There wasn't that big of a pool of RN's therefore they had to rely on us.
just organised my trip to see my dad for a week!! leave on monday!! yayayayaya!! and taking lots of kids with me! Booooooo! but take the good with the ugly hey??
Have a great time MrP
maybe you can put the kids up on the cartop rack? lol
snags, I started out in high school as an aide in the local nursing home, became an LPN and then an RN. There's a big difference in each job; but each level thinks the same thing: that they did the same as the next higher level.
thanks snags! taking the train again!! best way to travel now
or, turn them into hood ornaments!! :)
where are you going, mrp? How far?
gwen, I am putting them in the back of 1st class and sittting up front in my own section!!
500km northeast to Dubbo... then 70km south to Gilgandra
going to my farm!!
in the middle of bloody no where!! just what I need
Iknow what u are saying Nef, but in this case, it really is true.
hahahaha! my son would enjoy being a hood orn!
lol mrp.
sounds great, mrp!
of course, you still have trains! (we usians don't travel by train much, with exception of some big-city commuter trains and subway trains
sorry for the tatas girls, but it was in the grid and had to use it as a profile pic, cause it is never in a friday grid!!
our country is as large as yours gwen
trains are the best form of transport if you are not in a hurry, and costs less than petrol and car use
we only have 22 million people here though
nothing to do with size, just the train industry got kicked to shreds by the truck industry. this was decades ago
I love to travel by trains, but our US mentality doesn't think about running them at sensible times and to the correct places anymore
there's a movement right now to pressure gibmint (or industry) to build high-speed rail here, but i doubt it will happen any time soon
we are lucky like that nef... can cross the whole country in three days and it is amazing!!
(oops, gibment = gubmint = the busybodies in washington)
we are going to Perth for sure in September... 3 day trip on the amazing cross country 1st class cabins. we have lot's of different types of trains and good timetables
high speed rail is great! shame we don't have it
but we will get it cause the UK is getting it.
good stuff Gwen!! hope it happens for you
the damage to the high speed rail system in Japan was just devastating!!
I hope and pray for that country still every day, and New Zealand
there's so much effin corruption in our gubmint right now, nothing's happening except more tax breaks for billionaires. GRRRRRRR
a$$holes gwen
yep. right now our state governor (Rick Snyder) and two other state governors (both also named Rick) are reaming the people good and hard
rick the prick!
times three!! lolol
our governor passed a law that he will fire the elected officials and appoint his own administrator of any town (city, village) that is not running the place right. Fascism.
Gwen where is that??
Somehow that sounds totally illegal
Minn.
michigan, snags. they are already up to no good all over Battle Creek
Minnesota??
i expect it will be overturned, but i also expect that none of the criminals will see any prison time
Was it Wi, that started with Scott Walker??
NOT MN, snags! I live here
Scott Walker is pretty rotten, too. I'm not usually one for punitive justice but these people are serious criminals and they need to be locked up
You need a recall election.
Agree.
Wisconsin's Scott walker needs to be run out of the country!
yes!!!!!
did you hear this one: CEO who ripped off about 2 billion dollars, he got less than 4 year prison sentence. Homeless man who stole $100 from a bank, then turned himself in the next day and gave the money back, he got 15 years
iwish we knew how to fix things in this country. The whole govt at all levels are for the most part...crooks.
Gwen, didn't the bank robber just want a place to stay, and free medical care??
the way to fix it is to outlaw all private money in campaigns. easy-peasy.
well, how friggin blind is justice!!
hi une!!
haven't watched my Wimbledon today!!! how is my Djok and Nade going??
don't know much else about the bank robber, just what i heard on Thom Hartmann's radio show. i assume the CEO was white and the bank robber was not, otherwise sentences might have been a lot different
I think that way to solve the problem is NO money from corporations, rich people or lobbyists should be allowed
and i want free medical care, too. humpf
Gwen .. you need to get your facts straight before you go off ... the robber tried stealing a dollar the first time .. he wanted to go to prision.
Novak breezed thru -- Rafa had an MRI after yesterday's match *gasp* -- thought he might have broken something in his heel but it's ok - - whew!!
all the big guys play tomorrow -- can't wait!!
poirot, i'm just comparing sentences -- stealing $2 billion vs. stealing $100 (and giving it back!)
sentencing in this country is insane
ok -- I'm gone -- BBL *poof*
bye Une!
And I'm giving up and going to bed too. Niters, All! Happy Babbling!
bye nef!
first 4 columns done, 20 to go
oh no, 7 to go and 7 minutes left!!
time to make me a snack. later, all
