has to be a w 7
hi all
Proper noun, I guess, glant
hi and bye jmc
vash do you have the plural of frets
exactly 1/2 way, time for bed, goodnight all
yes
well, I've just entered di4 - herb name - which must also be a proper noun but it's accepted that - so frustrating at times
found it...it's a wo 6/7
WTG VASH!!!!
thanks
had to rely on moreword.com for those 2
guess i must be out of coventry, if you are talking to me
i just have a hard time multi-tasking...can't talk and work the board most nights
*sigh* or maybe not....will be back to chat when either i am or you are in a better mood...it's probably me...manic depression kicking in
smile granny rose - the very act causes the release of some endorphns
ok, vash, seems you and i are the same...i like to chat, but the grid becomes all important...hmmmm. do you think i might have become addicted to this game???
no...not at all
lol
*peeks in to give grannyrose a big but gentle *hug**
glant, thanx... trying to smile....but all seems too hard at the moment
ahhhh, sprite, thanx, lovely to see you, my dear
sorry granny....hope things get brighter soon
was lurking but wanted to let you know I care :)
vash, i MUST STOP SMOKING.... have tried all other avenues, but meds seem to be my last chance...coming off my current med which contorls my MD and fibromyalgia, have to be clear for 1 week before i can start the med , champix or zyban. * fingers crossed*
it is a tough place to be, when all seems too hard and you feel really really down. But you are an experienced lady, lol... you know things will be better in a while.
oh..ugh that's awful...glad i never started smoking, what a horrible habit to try to break
thanx, sprite, your vote in my ability counts soooo much
i wish you the best of luck with it...
smoking is very hard to stop - but when the right psychological moment arrives, it suddenly becomes quite easy. I tried to give up because other people told me I should and always failed.
thanx vash, plan on being around for a long time yet, but does it have to be so d**n hard, for goodness sake!
make sure you have plenty of oral stimulation, rose (not trying to be flip now). Toothpicks to chew on, some hard candy to suck on, everything that helps in that way.
One day I looked at the last cigarette in a packet and suddenly thought 'this will be my last one' and it was... 12th june 1982 - and I had been a 30 a day lady for about 12 years.
glant, this time i want to stop, for me and pnly me, not because others want me to.
yes I have a friend who did it just like that, Glant. But sometimes it can work just fine when one feels the need to stop, only it can be a fight.
my father kept sticks of rutabaga in cling film in his pocket when he gave up after 35 years - he said nothing lese stopped the cravings as well!
lol, can i use himself, do you think? am on leave for 3 weeks, mother mac goes into respite tomorrow, so heaps of prayers pleeeease
if you want to stop granny, it will be easier. It is just like any other addicition - you have to fight the physiical cravings - which wear off uite quickly all things considered - and the psychological ones, which are much harder.
prayers for you, rose, and full confidence you will help yourself do what you want to. You will make it.
i found the 'routine' cigrattes that i always had with my morning coffee/tea break at work etc the hardest, so when i finally gave up it was at the beginning of a vacation when there was no routine to worry about - good luck with whatevere works for you grannyrose - and you know we will be here cheering you on form the sidelines
*sigh* the med is supposed to stop that, plus i have lots of support from himself and my kids
plan yourself some small meaningful rewards along the way - like milestones
lol, sprite, you know how stubborn i can be....well...maybe obstinate...
it might help to see the addiction as a small child, rose. A child you have to educate. It wants, wants, wants and it wants it now! And you are the adult who distracts it, is firm when necessary, rewards it for trying so hard.
it's well after midnight here, i need sleep
good night everyone...and take care granny
hi
good idea, glant, the first one will be to see my bank balance go up, instead of steadily down.* grin*
lol yes rose, but that will work for you, not against you. You will stubbornly stick to the quitting, no matter what.
nite,vash, sleep well
hi egbok
rose: another great stimulant then would be to put all the money you would have used for smoking in a jar. Buy yourself something wonderful from it when you haven't smoked for a set period of time.
evening egbok
sprite, the lure of Fiji???? perhaps
looooove fiji
well there you go! Love is a very effective help against cravings.
(making love too, btw)
ooooh, gotta a gree with you there....does that get better, too?
absolutely! More oxygen in the blood, better orgasms!
just love a goood cardio workout* grin*
and if you should feel like a cigaret after sex, just make some more love :)
LOLOLOOL....himself will be so pleased
and what glant said too, btw... we are here for you. Babbling helps too. And if you want, you could pick up some new computer game that keeps both hands busy :)
brb, glass needs refilling....just who is it, who keeps emptying it, i wonder?
it just fell, rose. it just fell over.
now spritey, how far are you into the grid? neeed a hand?
I have 95 left and happily plodding along. Thanks though :)
okay, will pop back in later and see how you are going.it's a lovely grid.
am having a lot of fun with it so far. All the best, rose, and remember we are thinking of you.
thanx sprite, don't think some of the others quite understand, but hey, probably my fault, for not keeping them in touch,. i don't like being all doom and gloom
rose, you are welcome in chog whether you are happy or do4. We love you just the same. And no, some won't understand, but most will, and that is what counts. *hug*
* feels the love* thanx sprite, see you in about 15 mins.
ok, I will be here for certain :)
i need stats for the first R in first column and the i in 2nd column for nbt please

oh whats that?
something like morewords, but ordered in another way.
whats the website?
http://www.a2zwordfinder.com
ty checking now
ah looks nice. ill bookmark
I like it that I can check several wordlengths at once. I can glance over the page and the words that use the grid letters jump out.
yeah it lokos really easier than MW
it is something personal, I think. Some people love mw, but I find it a bit unclear.
yeah mw is.. idk.. i have to change the ending of the url every time i use it lol
lol
Morning all. May I please have a cl** for cu7-40? Thanks
well, if you are like me and you spot word patterns easily, the options of 'contains' and 'ends with' are nice too.
hi gapeach, you can make pudding from it
Ah, thanks so much, sprite. Hope you have a good day.
okay, sprite, am back...how goes it?
yes I am fine, thanks :) I hope the same for you.

does Sandyloo still play babble? I haven't seen her for a very long time, but she was as much of a Tour fan as I
why isnt indian a word?
I haven't seen her here in ages :(
I've seen her name in 'who's on line' ruby
neither is American or Australian
it is probably a proper noun, cosdem, needs a capital. I think it is silly that it isn't valid.
ah yeah oh well iw as all excited cause i thought i found an in6
but thats ok i have no more in6 left lol
aaah, we must be playing at very different times, then
if you see her, please say "hello and bon Tour" from me

Hi...and CRUD...got the 8...

it iw related to the wo5/20
being from our planet, a lot
TY!!!
does anyone want a feel for the other 10 without a direct clue

good morning everyone
a lot of words that sound like 1950s cleaning products or plastics, but aren't really words
Cat farts are awful.
hah Kap, good morning
good morning.
hi all from scenic iowa (looks at corn fields)
lovely corn fields, JMC and good morning
No lucite?
well they are nice but you seen one and youve seen them all
well i did pass a custom plastic molding company in ill on the way out
or maybe that was indiana--too many i states
love the looks of farm land
actually i do too mom as much as a gross
jmc, are you on business or pleasure?
both
:-)
I hope you have a wonderful time and pleasant weather
it was nice a cool last night and i always enjoy this event
i am hoping this is too far west for my stalker guy to show up--but i doubt it. he is the only fly in the ointment.
you have a stalker guy?
oh well when i finish with my job in 28 days he will no longer care about me
oh dear, so sorry to hear that. I hope he doesn't show up
you will go into private practice then?
a fairly benign stalker guy as these things go
i never really left mom--did it on the side--so i will just turn it up again while i take a masters in conflict transformation
that sounds interesting
i am looking forward to it except that i never did that well in school
with age comes wisdom, school will go much better for you this time around
:-) i hope so and i suspect it is more seminars than lectures
not sure how much wisdom--more patience though
:-)
definitely more patience but not so much going on in life in general as when we were younger
... you'll find that often the profs will hate you because you know as much as they do (just not as well organized) and you can see the flaws in their arguments ... the other students think you're wise and that everything you've done is amazingly amazing because they haven't done anything yet ... ...
good morning doseffing, I agree
lol that doesn't sound promising dose
doubt that they would hate jmc, she is such a sweetheart
lol not everyone thinks so mom i actually have a reputation for be a crusty bitch
... it's fun ... it seems you know that things don't signify the end of the world and there is a tomorrow ... which allows you to enjoy it more than you did the first time
you? never
i did take some mba courses a while back btw in which i wrote of an MLK speech and the class critic was i had not cite
Crusty bitch? *Has a looked of shocked surprise on her face*
i said how do i cite myself i heard him say that
morning Molly
wipe that smirk off your face molly! haha
*Gives JMC a hug, from one crusty bitch to another* : )
Molly ? nah
... and the other citation you get to use is "a private conversation with so and so when he was a drunk out of his mind undergraduate" ... that one is always impressive ... "you know so and so?!!!"
well this is a course that many older people take along with the straight out of college crowd so i won't be alone in being amazing
*Pictures JMC in a straw hat and overalls, preparing to pick corn*
lol that would be. . . . hmmm cong. charlie wilson (I was one of the girls in the hottub) jim hightower and molly ivans come to mind
no thanks molly i have conference to attend to give speeches and sell my book
morning everyone
never actually did the hottub but spent many a night at the restaurant at the kennedy center

lol sounds like a good idea ot me
is the U a UT word?
I haven't Babbled for yonks, and didn't used to tackle large grids, so I'm quite pleased with myself that I have managed 71 words including both 10's and a 9
that is so cool Ex i got 1 of the 10s and one of the 9s
... two are ... just make sure that you keep on going until you get the z in too ... ... they other is what you get when you don't find the two "ut"s ...
UT 8 woohooo
got the z
dose can you clue the IN please?
OR 8/9 :)
in + or8
I can get you a few ... a movie term 5/12 and plural ... a legal term 6/21 and third person ... a 5/12 that I don't recognize ... a 10/77 meaning too much which should give you two math terms starting with o

hello. tired from the contre-le-montre!
hello ruby
hello teach
are you in Canada for a holiday or have you moving?
moved* duh
we are here in British Columbia for a wedding. Wedding was held up in the mountains surrounded by snow covered peaks
Have been on the road for one week and will not be home for another 2-3 weeks
aaah, I am rooting for a fellow named Hesjedal from Vancouver who is riding for an American team in the Tour de France
I've never been in western Canada, but it must be beautiful!
we are 3 hours east of Vancouver. the bride is from vancouver and my nephew will be at the university there starting next fall
bigger than WV mountains, hahah
the mountains are beautiful and they have had a very heavy snow pack from last winter and a cool spring. The road up to the wedding site just opened last week. WV has hills but not mountains. We do have the highest ski area east of the Mississippi
higher than Vermont?
I live at the base of Killington in Vermont.
... ruby ... think Alps ...
I'm not a skiier, but they advertise that the dtop at Snowshoe is greater than any of the other easdtern ski areas
dose: I live in the foothills of the Alps
Went skiing once at Killington back when i was in college. Now just enjoy x-country skiing
I can't afford to ski there!
we moved here partly for the skiing, but now we've given it up
Someone told us yesterday during the wedding festivities that they reopened a ski area on Mt Wilson (somewhere in BC) for this holiday weekend (Canada Day was Friday)
good day all

HI Scrabs

come up to British Columbia where there are snow-covered peaks all around
Would LOVE TO!!!
Not that hot here but still hot. 80-82 for last few days and all thru this week. I'm doing yard work and came in for lunch and rest.
Nice Scrabs. We aregoing to yard work tonight when it cools down
I was in the southwest 2 wks ago and on 6/19 we started hiking at Bryce Canyon in snow and 34 degrees, it warmed up to the 70's later that day. A few days later it was 90+ at the Grand Canyon and then 100+ at Zion.
huge branch came down over the neighbors driveway in a thunder storm last night. waiting on dh to get home and break out the chain saw

TY DR
Love both Bryce and Zion. We are going from here to the Olympic Peninsula and then head home through the Tetons where we have been many times
missing one U
For next year's guided hiking trip we want to do Yellowstone + Tetons.
Go to Moab next time - you can go to Arches - take a bike!
Yellowstone is my FAVORITE
Our guide for this last trip told us about the wildlife.
we did yellowstone, tetons, arches all in one trip was awesome
my cousin leds winter Yellowstone trips. I think they're through National Geographic
I would like to do a mountain biking trip but none of my friends would do that.
*leads
Rasta, I went through "The World Outdoors" and was extremely pleased.
We like staying on the Idaho side of the Tetons and have camped in a Idaho Forest Service campground just out of the west gate of Yellowstone. It used to be too crowded in Yellowstone but friends were there earlier this month and said the crowds were sparse - but also still lots of snow.
If I were wealthy and could retire I would visit ALL of the national parks!
we stayed in Gardiner. It was great. I forgot, we also went to Jackson Hole. Awesomeness
did you buy a park pass? It is worth having
We are in Manning Provincial Park in the Cascades in British Columbia.
For our group the cost of the trip included admission to the 3 parks.
On the east coast we love to go up to the parks in Nova Scotia
we are only going to Eureka Springs for a week. Too hot to ride anywhere and the fires also present a problem
My DH loves Nova Scotia
missing one U and one N
Every corner of Nova Scotia is something different. Cape Breton - on the north - is the most unique.
are there degrees of uniqueness?
Point of Information! If you are 62 or over - you can get a free pass.
nice!
A free pass in to what?
all national parks and fed recreation areas
We just got the Golden Eagle pass this past week and it was $10
That's one advantage to aging, I guess.
I'll say!
bbl have fun
Scrabs, haven't seen you in a while. How goes it?
hi, all -
I was in the southwest for a week, got back a week ago, and my head has remained out there. I was a zombie this past week.
Hi Sue
hi, scrabs! the southwest will do that to you...
We spent our 40th wedding anniversary in the Baltics. I was Babbling from there
I wouldn't mind a trip in the southwest. Hubby wants to go to Antarctica :-(
we have been on the road for a week and are taking a lazy day today to do nothing and rest up
Estonia, Latvia?
Tell hubby to go to the south pole and you can go to the southwest.
Antarctica is a big chunk of ice. What does he want to see there?
MOO
MOO
MOO
BAAAA BAAAAA
don't feel good, am going to lie down for a while, see you all later
Scrabs, that's what I say. At least in the Baltics there was lots to see and do. We went to Helsinki, Stockholm, St. Petersberg, Riga and Talinn
What were the highlights?
Bye Sue
Definitely St. Petersberg. We had our own private guide and got to spend 3 and 1/2 at the Hermitage [not nearly enough].
Everything else, but Helsinki was fascinating
My husband was on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". It aired on May 17th
So did he become a millionaire?
No, but he won $21,500!
That's great!
We were very proud of him
So, with his earnings he wants to go to Antarctica. I have zero interest in that. I'm trying to find someone else to go with him.
What does he want to do there?
It's difficult for me to understand. See wildlife, climb on ice. Swimm in heated water. I'd rather go to the Gallapogos
Yep, I don't understand either. Does he want to accomplish visits to each continent?
I don't think it's that. He hasn't been to Australia. He is very interested in polar exploration thogh. He could just read a book abut it. But, I'm not the one who won the money. And, I don't want to stop him from going
I'm giving up here. Have 102 and I don't think I'm finding a whole lot more. Poof
And I am returning to the garden.

no, but he is on Facebook you could send him a message there
ok can try, though I always have trouble finding babblers on facebook, lol. They mostly don't go by their babble names.
he is Crosshair Smith
oh! Well that should be easy to find, thanks :D
sprite, are u still there ? i recently asked cross for his email add. and i do have it if you want...
Hello Babble friends. A belated Happy Canada Day, and an early Happy 4th of July to all concerned. Hope your holiday weekend is going fantastically :-)
hi soodle ... and thx !!
ei 7 clue please
nm got it
Hi Soodle.
Science, you're getting like Peri. Asking for a clue and getting the word a second later. : P
Hello (((Molls)))). A very happy 4th to you! How I would love to be in the States right now! :-)
I am blind! LOL
you are so right molly, exactly like peri !
tough grid today!
Well Soodle, if you like crowds, there are lots of pretty fireworks events to attend. My son and I go to a little out of the way spot where it's not crowded but you can still see a show. It's nice.
I was in Florida on July 4th, 2000. I loved every mili-second of it...
bbl for last 18... by all "poof"
Bye Mont :-)
i am struggling on the su's after the one whiat i dont know what it means but it ends like the do one for italian for soft
One 4th, I would love to see fireworks over the water.
Moll, thats so weird. My one and only Fourth, and I got to see fireworks over St Petes
Kazz - I am useless to you. I have only just started. Sorry.
Dire Straits does a song Su***** Of Swing
doh Molly - thanks
<-----------Loves Dire Straits.
<-----Turns speakers up to EAR BLEED for "Money For Nothing"
Mark Knopfler is a HELL of a guitar player.
<------ the saxophone on Your Latest Trick makes my knees go weak! And don't get me started on Romeo & Juliet..... (When the Soodle Memoirs are written, a whole chapter will be devoted to activities performed with Romeo & Juliet playing in the background....... Don't ask..... You'll just have to read the book!!
The Soodle Memoirs are going to scorch the best seller list. Remember the little people.
I mean, us little people, not THE little people.
Nuttin little about the people in the Soodle Memoirs..................
<-----There she goes, lowering the tone again........
hello dear friends!
((((Trif)))) in the nick of time, to save me from myself!
howdy again everyone:)Mark Knopfler kicks ass!
indeed I will not! I want to hear MORE about the Soodle memoirs! I have to live vicariously through others now....
Hey Crossy :-)
evening everyone
howdy soodles
howdy kazz
howdy triff
My lips are sealed.... (until the book tour!!!)
(biting tongue to avoid saying something like "speaking of big boys...it's crossy!)
:))
i let my fame fly before me
Trif, May I compliment you on your remarkable self-restraint....
yes, you may, especially because of what I did NOT say in response to what you just said! Snark, snort, snarf!
ROFL!!
it is tough being this famous...a curse, but i live with it...
so, I am supposed to be getting ready for a Dependence Day party, but the weather is looking a bit iffy, so I am babbling instead.
Pish posh, Trif. Our national day is in March. If we let the weather get the better of us, there would be no Paddy's Day. Go with the flow.....
its not my party, I am merely attending. Just not much in the party mood today...BIG tired
WOOOT - found both tens, all by my lovely self!
<----------- Would trade left leg, a kidney and possibly first-born son to be in the US right now!
<--------would love to be in Ireland right now, kicking back and visiting with Soodle!
The words grass, other side and greener spring to mind......
*Makes a mental note that July 4th and surrounding dates will be on the Soodle book signing tour*
the words Hedgehog, Leonidas, and Monsoon come to mind....
Thank you, Moll. Now all I have to do is write the book! Trif, can you not buy from Monsoon online?
nope. they don't ship overseas....nor do they have an online clearance rail.
there are 3 monsoons in the US now, and all in the same city, a mere 500 or so miles from here!
Well, if you ever saw something that you REALLY REALLY wanted on their website, I could get it for you and post it over.
ah, how I adore you soodle!
Genuine offer, Trif! (and there would be no postage charges, I could sneak it through my office postage)
thanks my love. I wll let you know! Oh, hey - did you happen to watch the RTE coverage of the queen's visit to Cork?
trifs AND soods!
I did, Trif! And I was hugely delighted with how the visit went. Most people here were a bit apprehensive about what the loonies might do, but it was all very very positive. I thought the fishmonger in Cork was fantastic. I bet he will be Sir Fishmonger in the next honours list!
((((Carlee)))))
My ex's cousin was the presenter! He lives in Cork and works at Tyndall, so they asked him to help out. His name is Simon Elliott
hiya soods
Hello carlee!
how is everyone tonight?
Wowsers!!!! So, (again vicariously) you have been hob-nobbing with the royals!!! I am impressed!
he didn't get to meet her or anything! He was actually in Dublin, watching and commenting on the action in Cork.
and meanwile wills and kate are here in canada
but he was so excited!
I am fine carlee = trying to decide whether or not to go to a July 3rd party -- its starting to rain here
Good enough here, Carlee. A bit peed off at the thought of work tomorrow, while all my transatlantic buddies are celebrating.......
and here i am debating on washing up a sink of dishes...
well... canadians are working...
if that makes u feel better
my office is open tomorrow, but thankfully I was not scheduled to work
whoopie cushions all round - fireworks for me
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*for kaz
Wow, not much is open around here on the 4th.
huzzah for kaz!
come over here....everything is open ;)
Molls, remember my 'noo shoos' I was gloating about a few weeks ago? I wore them to work last week, and very inelegantly fell on my ass, as I walked over cobblestones. The shoes have been consigned to the Charity Shop bag.... :-(
Whoo-hooooo Kazz. Well done!
Cobblestones and good shoes rarely mix.
thank you all - have a lovely 4th all of you that celebrate - I wil think of you when I am slaving away in work
I trawled through YouTube in case I was caught on CCTV, but mercifully I appear to have escaped.
okay, I have to make a decision. I am going to go rally the troops and gain opinions. Many happy returns to those americans amongst us
happy 4th trifs if i dont see u
Many happy returns Trif. Enjoy the party.
so what is new ur way soods
Not an awful lot, Carlee. Kinda sorta seeing a new man (very early days) but he is keeping me entertained!
yesterday fir the first time in more years than i can comfortably remember, I got sunburnt legs
And you, my friend? Hows life with you?
excellent...that is always fun ;)
tomorrow i hit the pavement on the summer job search...
Kazz.... No sunscreen?
Hi all...
i am going to apply at the call centre... they basically hire on the spot..and we will see what happens...
hi sista
...looking for input on flooring again...anyone game?
Oh, Carlee, good luck on you mission. Round these here parts, jobs are very thin on the ground.
err no - which is really stoopid as this is the 3rd saturday on the trot when i have got sunburnt - different places though
hi sistah...happy hunting! :)
what kind of flooring we looking into pini?
pini - what do you need
LOL Kazz - and you a meterologist???? What hope do the rest of us have?
this is for the kitchen..yes?
Hi Pini :-)
well it even worse cos i said to my hubby - oh no we wont get sunburnt
I got the number for the allowance I'm getting for the new floor covering...wondering if I should really consider the laminate flooring...
Kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway
laminate u have to be careful about washing
it cant get soaked
we put it in our living room
we parked at South Haven Point and got the ferry over to Sandbanks and then walked to Poole and had lunch in Fishy Fishy which is an absolute fabby restaurant and then walked back - 12.5 miles all together
my kitchen dining we laid raw slate ( I love it0 very forgiving in the "newbie tile laying dept as not one piece is same thickensss...not one piece is exactly square...
my kitchen/dining room are together...
Golly Kazz. Well done you!
flooring - dont get light coloured carpets if you have any of the following: pets, kids or husbands (or men in general)
what a nice walk, kazz ;o)
u just have to be meticulous in the grout removal..and seal the slate...and periodically reseal the slate
ROFL...thx kazz...I was thinking a lighter covering (have a pet)
it was fantastic - but the sunburn came from the sunlight reflecting off the sea water
dont do light..in fact....do laminate then..with an area rug
slate's probably more expensive than vinyl and/or laminate tho :(
Pini, I would be careful about putting laminate down in a kitchen area, where there might be spills, splashes etc. But for a living/relaxing area, oak laminate is wonderful. I just got my lounge and hall done in it and I am seriously impressed.
my slate was i think 1.00 / tile... it wasnt that expensicve
you can get vinyl that looks like slate but is much easier to keep clean - we are going to get some for the bathroom
most peeps dont like cus it is uneven...and not one tile is exact same colour as other..and diff thicknesses
that sounds promising, sistah...
check it out at home depot...i got black...
Oh, I think thats the beauty of slate, Carlee.
AND slate holds heat....so is not cold like ceramic
it's amazing really...I kept asking the flooring guy questions and he kept answering all the way around it as if I was some dumb stupid woman
and...i found..u know how your feet hurt standing on ceramic????
i want slate in my dining room with nice dragons blood red walls and black velvet curtains
slate b/c is uneven...i didnt get the same effect
alrighty then kazz...that reminds me of one room that they did on that home decorating show from bbc...
dude with the hair did a room...and they hATED it
i mean she threw a fit
I remember "Trading Spaces" had a room like that!
i have always wanted this - with a christmas tree in the corner
probably the same show
alrighty then
i remember that - said it looked like a tarts boudoir
:)
:)
was trading spaces the brit one or the americn one?
either one would cover it, sistah...
I'm guessing more Brit tho
it was the brit one with dude with hair and hyphenated name
it was called Changing Rooms here
Oh, Trading Spaces is the US version...
wore the floral pants..or the leather pants...
thats right Laurence Llewellyn Bowne
Something Morgan-Llewellyn, I think his name is? I usually like his designs.
oops Bowen
the really tall guy, longer dark hair, yeah...him!
I was close! LOL
Cue Soodle to brag about recent DIY! My bedroom was in a dreadful condition. Walls with wallpaper which must have been put up using Supergle... etc etc. I put up 'lining paper' - plain white paper, then painted 3 walls in Magnolia, and the fourth wall in a deep Navy Blue. Navy curtains on the windows, and cream bed-linen, and its a new room. And more importantly - all my own work.
changing rooms... yes...there was the very waspish fellow who had a think for pale blue...and white..every room he did was pale blue..
that was it..llewellyn
sounds lovely, soodle!
perfect soods...
I love blue and white with silver accent
he still pops up every now and again. Love the idea for a bedroom like that - ours is going to lilac or lavender with a colour called Blossom white on the walls
And, for once I treated myself. I don't get manicures, or facials, or massages, but I splurged on Egyptian Cotton sheets and duvet covers. Its my haven, and I can't go into it without a surge of pride (and amazement that the wallpaper actually is still attached to the walls.... LOL)
ok...I'm off to do more flooring homework...thx for the input (beware--I may be back for more)
okie kookie later pini
youre welcome pini - dont take no crap from the salesman
even better, soodle, when you know you did such a great job on your own...and splurged a little, too!
ttfn
i would love cotton sheets but they are so in sos to keep looking immaculate
i love my cotton sheets...
would not sleep without them..cotton flats in summer..flannels in winter
<----- not enjoying this grid
we only have light weight bedding all year - usualy coton percale as it washed niceky and dries quick and donest need ironing
ok..i made a yummy dinner... but i still want something...
err keyboard cant keep up with brain
i found the grid really tricky until i went to lickety and then aprt from the ones i needed clues - which wasnt that many they clicked into place
its a boring grid...
its just not..clicking for me today...
will try to gget to 1/2 way
I recently invested in 400 thread count sheets. I will NEVER go back.
arent they lovely molls...
Ditto Molls.
I have to talk myself into getting out of bed every day.
I threw the flannel sheets out. I run way too hot for those.
And no matter what the day throws at you, if you have had a good nights sleep, you are in a better position to face it. Therefore, I can justify my expenditure on decent bedlinen on the grounds of improved mental health!
i need them in winter..mind i keep the heat low in winter so as to enjoy the fireplace
i'll second that soods
What Soodle said. I have recently come to embrace the phrase "I deserve it".
no more of this fsss
( female self sacrificing syndrome)
Hmmmm. 2010 was the coldest winter on record here. Several mornings,I woke up with frost on the INSIDE of my bedroom window. My bedrom was in such a dilapidated state, I was ashamed to have a plumber in to check out the radiator. By decorating my bedroom, I have now guaranteed the warmest winters in living memory for the next 25 years! Sods Law!!
excellent... and here to hoping the plumber is cute ;)
<--- Has never seen a cute plumber. Ever.
The last one I had in here looked like an alcoholic leprechaun, spoke with an Irish accent and started every sentence with my name (a habit that is like nails on chalkboard for me)
u hate having someone say your name too?
i always feel like i am in trouble... that someone is mad at me...
now..carlee..kokie...hun...some other pet name/ nic name..fine...but carolyn... yeesh...what did i do now to piss you off
I don't hate someone say my name. I hate someone starting every sentence with it. It's redundant. Big storms brewing here.
jusdt been off filling in the daily calorie diary and exercise - only 15 minutes today
The last time I had a plumber in my house, he was doing whatever plumbers do, and when he was finished, he tapped on the front door and came in, to the indelible vision of moi, perched, like a queen on her throne, upon the toilet. I'm still not sure which of us was most traumatised.
I am blushing just remembering the whole horrible experience.
Will that be part of the memoirs? : P
i need a plumber to take out our redundant gas pipe in the living room
my plumber is a friend's hubby..abnd he makes allthe "plumber jokes" and always says when he is coming over he expects me to be wearing a skirt...
( he is harmless..crude... but harmless..and has proven many times that he is iincredibly loyal and very protective of my kids... )
A whole chapter, Moll. To compound the humiliation, he was a rare breed of plumber - Good looking.A Colin Farrell lookalike...(he clearly carefully cultivated the Colin Farrell lookalike thing, with designer stubble, tattoos etc) I am squirming remembering it all....
righto off to bed to cuddle the hub - see you tomorrow
btw..i never wear the skirt..and he always complains..but it is goodnatured
Kazz - enjoy!!!!
soods....i cant tell you how many times buddies of my son barge in on me on the throne... i just dont even care now... ( they didnt "see" anything)
ok..gone to wash up my dishes...back later
Ladies, the lock on the bathroom door has a purpose.
Especially when you have a house full of teenage boys.
Oh, I know that nothing is 'seen' Carlee, but its just the whole indignity of the thing... Like when I was 18 and hospitalised following a car acciddent. I was confined to bed, and the nurse had just brought a bedpan. The boyfriend of the tiem arrived to visit me, bringing with him an ice-cream cone. He disregarded the pulled curtains, and awarded the ice cream to me. So, I spent the next three quarters of an hour, uncomortably on a bedpan, chatting to a boyfriend, eating ice-cream.
Sheesh! Nobody is going to buy my book..... all my secrets are being revealed on Babble! Anyway... Its time I was in my (Egyptian Cotton) bed. Good night everybody, and have a wonderful 4th of July.
oh man, I started the grid, and then looked, wow. 254.
*nods head*
and Sprite asked for clues for her last 3 words - therefore it has got to be horrid/long
yup, now i have 38...
it's ok till you get to about 180
i am at 97 and getting stopped... ahhh.
hi Owl - thats what I found too
check for superlatives and comparatves
also plurals w ithout singulars
have a bunch of those so far, i just need to focys..
focus
I just listed - need to get things done today
how are you feeling red? lyn i listed at 76 to go
I am feeling a little sore, but in general I think I am doing OK. Mostly having a lot of trouble with anxiety regarding the procedure...
you are facing another?
I hope not. But we will not know if this was successful until I can start running, in October. So I get nervous.
well that is a long time to spend worrying
Yes, it is. It goes up and down based on the day...situation.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hi min
hi Min
Hi Minver

oh my, folks in washington state are skiing in tank tops at crystal mountain

For those who do not have the 10 letter word yet, it is in my story of cl4 I put into my profile earlier today
Phantoms for me today are riddle, ridicule, & window.
ri 6/21 anyone?
So sorry, rururocks but I did not find that ri6/21 yet.
ri6 start like the ceremony but end like Mr Nixon's given name
i don't see a ten in your story, min.
Towards the end..."He believes I spend an in 10/77..."
thank you lynxx
in1077 word is toward the end of story 72 Temple Owl
ty min
*in10/77
yw
i have done nothing today, after returning from church. no ambition
Same here! The most ambition I had was to take dog on a walk. Don't even have ambition to finish the grid
but is it hot where you both are?
no, humid. rained for three minutes.
It is humid, but not too hot. It is cloudy&humid today\
106 F here today
wow - that's drippy!
is the or 8/9 fishy?
very similar to the io8/9 - same end
for Priests it is owl
or 8/45 is most of the in 10/77 word 72 Temple Owl.
uh, ok, ty
su 5/14???
So sorry, rururocks but I did not find that ri6/21 yet.

hi all and thanks. great clue lyn
hi Dorens. yw
Have had to refresh twice because the posts are not entering into the chog. Anybody else have a problem?
course i had to go back a ways to see what was being asked for....but it worked then
Hello Dorens! How are you doing? Welcome to the log.
not me Min
sulci
thanks lynxx
(heads to PB)
i'm ok min. and hi ru... did my entering discombobulate you that much???
lol ..probably
hi doren
zi pls?
hi owl. this does not look like an easy puzzle today, or is that just me, being slow cause of the drizzly weather here?
zi4 like a cash register ti**
you could come here to clear skies and 106 Doren
ty
Bye everyone - I'd better head out into the cool morning here
and i had just monkeyed that too I would take the clear skies and 106 (assuming low humidity?)
well, i need 38 and ill see if i feel like finishing later
no humidity
i need 137.. bye lyn (and owl?)
cannot find anything for the second column i except idli. rice/lentil pancakes from indian food, which of course is not naan, so not acceptable
Goodbye lynxxx! I will see you tomorrow in the chog.
i definitely would prefer over 100 degrees without humidity to 76, grey, constant rain
then again, i shouldn't complain. we had a nice sunny few days preceding this, and the plants must be enjoying it, how are you ru?
Well you are in luck Dorens because there's no ra4/4 or ri4/5 in the Penalty Box.I'll see if I have I you need
hah.. no, you are right min, i am on my way there... looking for a nice glass of wine
id 4/5 is rock singer Billy Id** and id7/52 is verb form of the if 4/5 word and id 8/70 is one who id7 Dorens.
ah i just found the id4/5. but thanks min
hi all
hello tnc
at least i've made the nbt, halfway bench mark -- now for lickety, I'm definitely turning over to him early today
Hello TeaNCrackers! How are you?Welcome to the grid
Dorens,I have a story of cl4 in profile if U need it too.
hi, all!
in10?
in10 .. a lot of something
it would take an in******** amount of cluing to get it
ty
had a bit of a meltdown earlier today but am doing better now...
in10/77:Husband believes I spend an in10/77 amount of time everyday babbling kje & hi there? How are U?
an in10 amount of priests in the schoolyard
oh my, should have read min's last post, still in pb. hello sue. want a glass of red wine?
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
and... I think I am offended by dorens clue ; )
that would be lovely, dorens, thanks!
hi, min! I got a lot of words from your story...
no no no, kj, you misunderstand. I am so sluggish today i wouldn't be able to think of a clever cl**
I would be.. kje
lol
<--sh** disturber
Glad it helped. An in10/77 came from my story as well.
: )
good thing I did, too, min, because I certainly am not finding a lot on my own.
hi min
what was the meltdown about uu?
just monkeyed a silly ti 7/8 combo. guess it will be one of those
plenty of those doren.. this is a toughie
oh, just life in general (including the fact that I can no longer type the letter j without using the on-screen keyboard)
bad combo, tough grid + fuzzy brain
Gave up on this at 2:37 with 175 words & 2011 points
well between you and kj, you could never pen a dear john letter, then
hands lint brush to doren
true, it would be a dear ohn letter and would not be nearly as effective :-)
thanks ru. that might help. i think i should have jsut stayed in bed today - well, at least i could figure out the te8 myself
well kj could do a dear joh letter
so between us we could get it done :-)
well that is true, between the two of you you could - except for geographical difficulties
Hi Sue, are you feeling better?
hi, molly, i am indeed, life kind of got to me earlier
Understandable Sue. Glad you got through it.
time for some dinner... bbs
bye, dorens!
that was really funny doren
hi, I'm new. is there a way to play against one other person and see what they are writing? And why does it say I have 5 hours for the puzzle?
or should I say that was really fuy dore
we don't play against each other here court
this is more of a cooperative game.
hi, court! check the help link above for basic info about the puzzle.
the trick is to finish the grid
5 hours because a new puzzle is posted at 1AM EST
there is a new grid every day at midnight central US time, so that's why the 5 hours
and you can't see anyone else's words or word list although there are a lot of clues in the chat
ok, thank you everyone!
yeah, it's weird that you can't see anyone else's lists. thanks for filling me in!
if you click on lickety's babble clues it will bring up a list of words in the grid, but only the first two letters and the total number of points
the help button explains how to calculate the number of points in a word - it can be helpful in figuring out which tiles are used
Hi Courtser! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I don't know, being able to see other people's lists would be like seeing other people's hands while playing cards.
61 left ugh the grid that never ends
HI gang
hi, science and DR!
Hi Gang
soory- I had to refresh- my chog was stuck
I am slow on this one... have been milking it along
me, too dr
stuck chog has been happening to me a lot recently too
I will stop blaming it on son's Xbox :-)
Yep- I was blaming Jakester also :(
Hello DR1965!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
My chat log has been stuck a few times today as well.
in 5/20 please
Hi Min- I m lazy today- how are you?
... in plus 75% of the direction that my skill is moving at this moment ..
LOL Dose!
lol, doesffing!
ty i's gone
I was lazy today too DR1965. Only thing I did outside of laziness was take dog on a walk. Laziness is great!
I agree Min- I needed it today
Hi doseffing! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
must be in the air. I did nothing but one load of laundry
go Science!
pitiful. should be using my time wisely and making stuff instead of being a louse
I did a bunch of cleaning but only after getting furious at myself and everybody else in the house including the cats
I should be cleaning
I even took a NAP
i watched Gladiator....
i always should be cleaning
I took a nap too DR1965! In fact, I took several naps.
li 6????
*Pictures everyone in Sue's house, including the cats, cowering in the corner and swearing to pick up after themselves*
I have plural flowers for an li6, science
Iam such a loser. Thanks sue
ROFL Molly- In my house it is just Jake who is cleaning his room .... I went to ask about dirty laundry and he closed the door in my face
and the boys did do quite a bit of picking up - the cats and dog remain useless, though
You are NOT a loser!
yeah, I'm not even half way, science, and much of what I do have I got from min's story
I am. I also inadvertently pissed someone off yesterday and now I feel badly about it
you'd be a loser if you DIDN'T feel badly about it, science!
I have a friend who got tired of picking up after the men in her house. So she starting pitching their crap out in the back yard. Amazingly enough, the y-chromos got a lot tidier. : D
(and believe me I have a prime loser in my life right now!!!)
Somebody pissed me off yesterday & they DON'T feel bad about it! However, that's a daily occurence with husband.I piss him off too and don't feel bad about it.
I am having fun sticking -ier and -ies on the end of lots of letter combinations - not getting a lot of real wo**s out of it but I find it entertaining...
Science, you obviously didn't mean to piss this person off. It happens. Don't beat yourself up.
I mean, wouldn't the pickles that have more di** in them be di**ier?
hi everyone, was lurking but I had to smile when Science said she pissed someone off yesterday. My mom always said it is better to be pissed off than to be pissed on
Don't forget the superlative
good point, mom :-)
I like that Mom
((Babble Rabble))) hello, I have missed you
gee, I don't know, BR, I might get some actual words that way :-P
she has some of the best sayings
hi br
Hello Mom! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Mom's Mom is a wise one. : )
Hi BabbleRabble! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
Hello BR- Nice to see you
Hi Min, so nice to see you
,
hi inge
hello Inge
hi, inge!
Hi Inge
ha - found the second 10 thanks to BR!! :-)
comes out of the woodwork to hug Babble Rabble....
hi, red!
((Red)) hello
* feeling left out of Red's hugs
Hi everyone!
uusue2, I think someone who has travelled the planet the most would be the wo5/20.Or someone who talks the most would be the most wo 4/9.
HUGS everyone, DR, Mom, uusue, Minver, BR...
If the waters that run deep can have an ier ending, I don't see why the pickle spice can't. But then, this is Babble, where nothing really makes much sense.
Hi Red _ HUGS Back
Hello redturtlehead! How are you? Welcome back here
st7?
Hello inge! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
I think I don't have the deep waters.
and I did get the most of the wo5/20, that was the second 10-letter wo**.
actually it's an st8
HI KJE- dont have the st7
Oh ok. I gave up on the grid so did not realize. Glad I did not put it into the chatlog. LOL!
thx, dorens! strange word, sigh
st5 is st*** waters run deep. The extension? of that is the 8.
is the st7 not real?
misspelled cow + a preposition as ** the doctor is **
I don't know kje. Looks like it needs a g on the end.
BR!!! I can't believe it!! Hello!
ty br
ahah! babrab. thank you
Hello folks
TY BR
thx, BR!
Really good to "see" you BR. I have missed you.
clue for in10?
Hello, HT
were the floods anywhere near you babrab?
Hi ((Une and Dorens))
the floods are about 300 miles west of me now
hey, mom :-)
hi ((Mom and Une))

mmmm..crossy just made a home made shepards pie, lean burger cooked with sweet onions, mushrooms, peas shaved carrots,hp sauce and secret herbs and spices.i pop it in a casserole dish and top with whipped russet taters and brush it with melted butterbake for 30 min then ad 1/4 pound of shaved quebec applewood smoked cheddar and a dash of fresh ground peppercorns...
wow, crossy, that sounds great!
ty ruru
when the cheese starts bubbling and going a tad dark,it is done..serve with crusty loaf and a nice simple salad
Hello crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
howdy min
cu7/56?
compound word
got it, thx, dorens!
I so LOVE Shepard's Pie.Your recipe sounds delicious!
I made chicken scallopini.First time making it. Was ok
indeed min,if you like it with a bit of zip,add 6-8 drops of your fav hot sauce
and the carrots must be shaved with a good cheese grater
I have to leave out zip as I have sensitive taste buds.
i used to love shepard's pie. now, i just made dinner with ground turkey, cooked with red onions, mushrooms, zucchini, red and yellow grape tomatoes, cumin and other good spices, sprinkled with chopped cilantro. and ate it. No potatoes, No cheese. still good (and all the veggies came from the local farm store, so i feel doubly virtuous)
then try my basic recipie
i use sweet valencia onions
Well, I am eating veggie burgers and a salad right now.
sound good dorens
I also make a tater-tot casserole which is kind of like shepard's pie. At least it reminds me of shepard's pie.
i miss the cheese. but I'm trying to lose ten pounds desperately
or8?
I'd be sheepish to make a shepard's pie..
we never see tater tots here..i know of them from my american friends though
LOL rururocks!
hi scrabs, how are you?
Hello kids. I just returned from mountain biking on the trail in the park.

Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I am doing well--enjoying the days off to do gardening, yard work, and biking.
<---is on vacation this week
oridnate
---she misspelled it... still pb?--
almost scrabs
VERY CLOSE SCrabs - LOL
scrab goes to the bad speller PB
Swap 2nd and 3rd letters, kids. Sneaky clue, huh?
I am starting to become a fan of ground turkey.I had turkey burgers the other day and I did not taste the difference. Also have used it for tacos&it's delicious!
ru, your normal life sounds a lot like vacation. What are you doing different this week? more tennis?
I know how to spell the word but I cannot type well.
i've been using it for a while min, and every so often treat myself to a good beef burger... very rarely. But there is sure a difference.
taking Dylan to the Beach, hiking Point Reyes, going to Lake Berryessa to take him swimming.. tennis, tennis, and some wine.
I have that problem Scrabs
Ruru, did you watch Novak vs Rafa? Novak is playing superb tennis.
hmmmmmrather idyllic
re 7?
I did watch it.. a terrific battle.
Nadal was coming back.. he's really great
re7 ... someone who shuts themselves away from everyone ..
IT was a good match!
ty
They were both crushing the ball.
I thought Novak was folding in the third set
ty for re7
What is the other 10? I have in10.
crossy winces and balls being crushed...
wo 10
I don't think I've seen Nadal serve better than he did today
the most of this earth
not those kind of balls crossy
Sorry, guys. They were hitting the tennis ball with a high racket speed,
ahh ok
hitting those with racquets would be testicular manslaughter
Rafa is so focused, so intense and so patient.
.. or doubles ..
3 left and all s's
GO SCIENCE !
Hi doseffing
I have 100 left
Go SG go! Come on people, we have to help her.
I'll do what I can but I still have 77 left...
st 5/10 and st 5/12

what are they singing? (they are sooo good together)
do you know which ones, science?
st ... which one ... there are several of both ...
i have st5/12.. rhymes with what's in your head?
Dancing Cheek to Cheek just had it's final chord
st 5/10 around the one to not move
that's the best too, doseffing! love it
st5 = st + P*** a door open. Not push.
something to drink beer out of, science
change the vowel sg of the not to move
and the last st 5/12
st5 = German beer mug
... just straightening up the CD cabinet ... so I gotta play everything once ...
good evening evr1
hi, lady!

nm
more like the lo4/5 before it sue
Doren, the crossword puzzle is not too bad this week.
Anybody want cantaloupe or watermelon?
will probably fall asleep doing it, scrabbs.. but i think there's an acrostic today, and that is my favorite! (had a mango today that was so good i could have cried)
Bye sciencegeek! I will see you tomorrow in the chog.
no thanks, scrabs -- have bing cherries!!
I like mangos too.
i love fruit . . . period!
particularly in the summer!
I so LOVE watermelon, but can do w/the cantaloupe.
My favorite melon though is honey dew melon,LOVE it
Me too, Min
<plum eater>
honeydew is great
hey ruru
Unfortunately, honey dew is also the most expensive.
honey dew and watermelon are my faves!
I like plums too
Une, I was thinking of you today when I was examining my columbines.
I like prune plums the best.
the dark really sweet plum that is so juicy it is dripping down the chin
I get a lot of "honey-don't"
Here is a joke: How come melons do not get married?
hard to believe your season is soooo much later than ours -- wow -- know you're enjoying them, scrabs . . . cut my first Casablanca lily today -- smells like gardenias -- *swoon*
I have a LIST of Honey Do's Ruru
Hey, this seedless watermelon has a few seeds inside.
LOL rururocks!
They can't elope/cantaloupe.
Because they Can't Elope!
LOL!
lol
My day and tiger lillies have not even bloomed yet.
Oh Scrabbler know that joke. I'm sure most people do
Hello ladytraveler1979! How are you? Welcome to grid
Minver.. do you know what sweet potatoes sleep in?
ruru, do you have Cavaillon melons in California? Very small and exquisitely sweet . . .
I might have to go into town to shop for mandos, plums and cherries tomorrow.
my day li**** disappointed me this year. don't know what's wrong with them
yes we do une..
hi min, thanks fod the welcome!
No rururocks.
man . . .
they are really great
so how'd you like the Wimbledon results today?
riat
their "yammies"
I need to trim back the trees in my yard and allow more sun to hit the plants.
ouch!!
LOL rururocks!
GROAN! !!!
Une, I was thinking of you. Rafa played very well but Novak was on fire.
mmm I'm happy for Novak.. he deserves it.. I think Rafa is injured but won't say anything... I thought he was surging back and his serving was the best I've seen him do
yep . . . sigh . . .
I still wanted Rafa to win
me too . .
Okay, how about GOL (Groan Out Loud)
They were pounding the ball.. both of them
what kind of injury, ruru?
it was a good match!
I read he is having a foot injury he got shots for
yeah, it was -- and it's so fun to see how thrilled his family is with his success :-)
those two players are clearly the elite of the tennis wo5
oh, the heel injury from earlier in Wimbledon . . .?
If rafa had taken that 4th set.. it would have been much different I'll bet
cracked me up when Novak tossed ALL his raquets up to the fans!!
i agree
Novak was serving killer aces and kept Rafa on the baseline on his heels so to speak
Novak certainly kept Rafa moving alot!
Popping back in for a few...
killed me to miss the first set but had to pick up donated food -- what a shocker to get home and find that Rafa already lost a set!
Hi Red. How is your hip?
It is always incredible to see them play.. I think that DJ is in Rafa's head a bit by winnning 4 of the last meetings
seat
hi again, red!
yeah and he lost the first two sets in a hurry
it's good Scrabbler, I think. My anxiety is really impairing me, but the hip seems ot be progressing all the same.
oops!! sorry!!
makes sense, ruru -- pretty hard to swallow
No, thanks, lady, I already have a chair here.
How was your trip Scrbs?
lol
still getting used to this game!!
nadal is going to cream him in NYC.. you watch
It's Ok Lady, next time can you drop a word I dont have?
hope you're right!
and they're both coming to Cincinnati, right?
lol I'll try!
Outstanding, red! Strenuous and fun hikes at Bryce, Grand Canyon and Zion. I developed heat exhaustion 2.5 mi down into the GC.
I don't know about that?
evening all
I climbed to the top of Angels Landing at Zion.
Glad you are now FIne and we enjoyed your pictures.
Need a glass of wine.. bb in a bit
I have 261 pics on my camera.
Hi Dan2!
scrab, you were in my neck of the woods (so to speak)
Hello dan2bit!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi, dan!
doxy, next Saturday I'm helping transport a DOZEN rescued doxy babies 9 wks old -- destination is Rhode Island rescue :-)
how sweet. Wish I was closer
Where exactly do you live, doxy?
Just south of Salt Lake city
only about a 4 hour drive to Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands etc.
We stayed in St George our first and last nights there.
Oh, doxy, I am in love with Utah. My head is still there.
I want to eventually live in St. George. I love it there
My photos are being delivered in a few days. I can't wait to see them.
The north has canyons and mountains with snow still in most of them. Most of the camping areas are still closed due to snow.
We have one ski resort that will still be open through tomorrow. There is still a lot of snow in the mountains here
fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was quite a struggle...
YEAH SUE!!!
wtg sue!!!
yeah, uusue2
Fireworks
congrats to UUsue and Doxy!!!! Awesome!
YAY Doxy!
that was a struggle today.
I am half way now..
yay, doxy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wtg uusue and doxy
was 90f here yesterday..strange as it may sound crossy misses those crisp bright winter days hiking the trails in snow shoes, going ice fishing, tapping the maples in the early spring for fresh syrup
Wow, My neighbours are setting off firewroks, sort of loudl and bigger than expected!
I am going to find something to snack on. Had dinner earlier, but want something to eat.
Talk to you all later.
Oh yes Crossy I will never miss any of that!!!
lol red
got a heat rash yesterday that is now raised into blisters,,thank god for hydrocortisone cream
Doxy, when we started our day at Bryce, 2 wks ago, there was snow in the mtns and it was 34 F and snowing!
yuck, crossy! Hope it gets better soon...
Yeah, people are doing firecrackers here too.
it will sue..we have a old rx of a nice 2.5% cortisone cream,it will do the trick
I'm sure it will cool a bit soon cross. its been unseasonably cool here. 70's
Where is the rash, Crossy? Is it itchy?
Dr Scrabbler is concerned about the blisters.
it is raided into welts with raised edges in the groin area..sorry ladies lol
raised
Oh Crossy- Jakester had similar issue this week... He told me he was " sunburned" where he could not out sunscreen ROFL
not ruptured blisters, but it was a close thing
we used cortizone cream and baby powder
Put some Gold Bond powder down there and if it doesn't improve in a day or 2 add an antifungal cream, e.g. miconazole, clotrimazole, etc.
* actually that was a DAD thing
using the cream and going comando style under the p.j bottoms lol
will do scrabbs
To quote Elaine Benes from Seinfeld, "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things."
the cortizone cream is ok for now scwabby?
NICE Quote Scrabs
well, some packages are bigger to carry round than others scwabby lool!
Oh My.
HUbby just asked why I am laughing
Steroid cream won't fix fungal infection, if that is what you have, so you'll know in 1-2 days.
all i can tell you is my shoes are size 14,want any more info and you ladies will each have to send crossy a dollar lool!
Crossy, women have their problem areas too.
is there a nice over the counter fungal cream you would reccomend scwabby?
only worth a dollar huh, crossy?
form all 500 of you lady lol
from
etut
lol
be back in a while....need a snack!
lol dr1965..just tell him we are discussing a crossy crotch rash lol
and apendage sizes lol
Miconazole, clotrimazole, etc--same stuff used for "athlete's foot." Or go to the women's area of the pharmacy and get the female versions of those. Haha.
i had a friend in college,we used to bar hop together and that man was amazing.he would leave with more women on his arm in one month than i did the whole year.one day i asked him his secret and he told me.."what i do is tell them my equipment is this big,and he held two of his fingers about 2 inches apart" i said "well how can that possibly get you the ladies like it does?" he said "well they are so fascinated because most guys lie about how large they are that they have to take me home right away just to find out for themselves"
mmm..athletes crotch lol
"jock itch", or tinea cruris in medical talk
cool,learn something new everyday:)
tad more than an itch though..hobbled home last night and i would not of been suprised to have seen blood running down my legs
pushed it waay too hard in that heat
Bright red, inflamed looking, usually burning and sensitive, often itchy.
indeed, could hardly touch it to apply cream etc
Crossy, scale back your training program.
lol,my training program is work and running around catering to all our lovely visitors from the city on this long weekend
We have fungi on our skin all of the time but heat and moisture in certain spots allows fungi to thrive.
i will definatly take your fungal cream advice ty scwabby
any clue for the in10 ?
nevermind...brain just kicked in...got it
.. in plus or 8 ... means way to much ...
crossy did an in10 ammount of talking bout his crotch in the chog lol
thanks for the 10! what is the other one?
i have a gift for the gab,and for text, when i use lots of text that makes me the wo10(superlative) that you know
wo10= superlative about wo5
wo ... builds from wo5
Just don't share any photos, Crossy.
lol,i messed that up..nm crossy..think a book is calling me anyways
tc everyone and happy babbling
poink!
thank you!
Goodbye crosshair! I will see you tomorrow in the log.
I have had enough too--been chatting and stuck with 118 to go for 30 min.
hey all! just finished putting together the DVD/CD shelves. Now I just need Tom to help me mount it on the wall... definitely a TWO person job!
AND the living room is re-arranged... and some of the clothes for autumn/winter are in vacuum bags and ready to go to the storage locker. :-D I hereby declare myself to be officially BACK!!!!
wb stidmama!
Way to go Energizer Bunny Stid!
HELLO stid! sounds like you are doing much better than I am at putting order to the house after months of neglect
:-D Well bugs, MOST of the progress is superficial -- dozens of unsorted boxes in the storage locker, but with them out of the house I have room to think.
hi, stid! You are in the grid :-)
AND I can bring them back in one or two at a time for sorting without feeling overwhelmed.
I am still working on my office. I am finding tax returns from 2005 that were never put away properly!
hey sue! I know -- but I don't count. when PERI is in the grid, she counts!
*Sue channels Dr. Suess*
you go, Bugs! :-D
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
It would go so much faster if I didn't Babble every day...
Hello Bugsaw! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
LOL I know that feeling, Bugs -- I deliberately didn't even log in until just now.
hey Min!
oh man... the whole network died! *sigh*
*wonders if anyone else came back...*
i'm here stid
sorry stid. I am here just into the grid
okay *relieved look* I was just worried...
don't worrry. your breath is fine
sorry, was testing batteries and putting them in flashlights
roflmao
and waiting for dinner as I am VERY HUNGRY
good idea, sue -- and when I unearth my flashlights from the monster cleaning I intend to do the same thing.
nice bright LED flashlight was my birthday present from Menards, I finally got around to picking it up
wonder if someone can help with a problem
maybe, Jen -- depends
Poor Sue, always waiting for dinner. : P
what kind of problem?
this is always a good place to try Jen
me and the dog and cats, molly :-)
my mom is 72, my dad is 71, they argue all of the time, will be married 50 years in August
Are you waiting for food delivery?
hm. opposites attract, Jen?
waiting for Frank to cook, molly
dad has seen the doc for forgetfulness and he wants my mom to go to a joint doc meeting to see if everything is okay with her and she refuses
... have they always argued or is this new behaviour?
keep going Jen
it is just worse doseffing
what is your dilemma then?
my mom thinks it is all dad because she keeps reminding him to do things but sometimes to the point of dad hating it
Hi. Jen yes they both need to see a doctor. Could be as simple as needing meds
hm... I wonder if he is trying to distract from his own forgetfulness by pushing things off on to her -- or if perhaps he really does see something in her that would logically require attention
mom still works part time in a day care, dad is retired
Well your Mum sounds as tough as boot nails. Jen
he just wants her to go the doc to take this same test
It wouldn't hurt for her to get a "baseline" anyway so if she does experience a decline later it easier to spot
she is herin, she is the oldest of 7 kids and dad is number 5 out of 6
well, either there is something wrong with her, or else there isn't - in either case going to the doctor wouldn't be a bad idea, especially together with him - that way the doctor can discuss whatever issues they have with both of them there - even if she has no problems and he does she will need to know what to do
... if there are no health problems ... then bored ... get him something to do ... that way she doesn't see him doing nothing and maybe she stops having so many suggestions
Dad could be deteriorating then but I wouldn't worry about the fighting at this point. My parents argued all the time too but it was the way they interacted.
*Lights fire under Franks butt so Sue can get fed*
and if there are issues, then personality changes can be one of the symptoms - understanding this can help them deal with whatever it is
He kept himself alive for 6 weekes longer than the doctors thought was possible so he could go home to be with her. Her dementia took over FAST after he was gone. She had lost her anchor
lol, molly, he's working on it, and he did a lot of cleaning today after I got all pissy so I am being nice to him now
there. NBT
yay, stid!
i have a feeling that when one them dies, the other is going to go quickly
Jen do you have a men's shed in your area
Jen, it's hard to watch your parents age. Especially if there are health problems involved. I'm sorry this is bothering you.
Anyone have a clue for RE7?
men's shed?
final thoughts (I have many heart-felt opinions on this issue) is just to be sure that ALL the medical issues (including possible depression) are addressed, since simple things like metabolism can result in symptoms that are mistaken for dementia
... you're right ... happens a lot ... same suggestion ... make sure there's something for them to do ... preferably that they want to do ...
bzz...spider.
It is a place were men in their retirement go and ''play'' in the man shed
www.mensshed.org/ here this is it in Australia
re 7 ... someone who shuts themself off from everything and everyone ...
TY peach.
Jen, would you Mum go to the doctor on her own? PErhaps she does not want to loose face
like a day care Herin?
brown spider
dad goes to coffee every morning in the retirement community
Yep but for grumpy old men to go and play and share stories
good cl4 Peach
YES! got a 10!
YAY STID!
Thanks, DR....couldn't think of anything else
*Tosses choclits at Stid*
go stid!
hey DR -- I love the invite to the "seussicial" on facebook.
Glad you saw it
THere is lots of Dr Seuss rhyming going on in my house
Jen I feel that it is best they get a check up. Your mother sounds like me. Not dying not going to a doc.
yep that's it, but trying to convince her is the problem
Do you have kids Jen?
there. 101 and done for the day. (((hugs all))) see you-all tomorrow! *runs off to do some studying*
Hugs Stid
no herin, i am a 48 yr old single woman, never been kissed, never been married
Bye Stid

Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the log.

***lurking fireworks*** (last word was dialect for teases). I did not enjoy this grid.
YAY Jill!!! **hugs** how are you doing?
hello stid and all!
was thinking about you earlier, and wondering how that cat injury is healing?
jill! I am making actual, real progress on getting the living room to look like a living room and not a corner of a dorm room!!!!
Thanks, stid -- it seems to have improved a little but still red and tender in the vicinity.
wow -- watch that carefully (I know you do) and don't hesitate if there is ANY question, to see the doc! *worried mama-friend look*
Congrats, stid! Now you have a little time for other than studies and duties.
I have an appointment with a GOOD doc on Wednesday.
yes, I am seeing how much I can get done when I am "me" and not "student-me"
Makes me more confident that I can actually teach. :-D
Welcome back to the world, stid.
good jill -- keep that appointment! **hugs**
You've been teaching all the time, stid -- of course you can!
Time to change my icon and story, but I did like these binary stars...
I saw that you had a lovely evening outside yesterday jill -- so pleased your little garden is doing well!
binary stars are a source of amazement to me -- how they manage to survive so close together without smashing!
The balmy weather helped!
We have enjoyed the nice weather, too -- Tom even mowed the lawn a bit today! Tomorrow we will make even more progress.
Well, here I go for the icon change -- back in a bit...
later jill!
*licks the chocolate off fingers*
*hands jmc a finger towel* hey there! just in time for me to hit halfway!
wtg stiddie i have 170 left
go jmc!
naw i am still tired from my 17 hours drive yesterday and have to get up for a workshop in the morning.
oh gee jmc -- a workshop tomorrow?
I was panicking because I thought my online workshop is tomorrow (having spent the last three days on housekeeping and visiting...) but I have another day yet to study and get things in order.
yes i am at my annual quaker gig in grinnell iowa this year
what is your workshop?
(grinnell is less exotic than kenya)
oh, that's not so bad, I guess -- glad it's now and not August. I hear iowa is hot in august
i am sure it is not hotter than Texas was when i was growing up
I am taking a 4MAT workshop online. Bernice McCarthy is actually teaching it! *mama in heaven look* I am SO enjoying getting some clarification of content that was hinted at but not actually taught in my master's program
what i hated was coming to iowa in january -10 or worse
study, stid? Workshop? I thought you were through --- ???
Mother recommended this course to me, she used a lot of these ideas when she was teaching
(some people never learn)
I am done with the master's bit, jill -- but enhancing my skills and learning a little more for myself is a wonderful thing!
Hi jmc
wow a train is going right through the middle of campus and within feet of the tents were people are camping
i bet all the campers are awake with the train whistle
good for you, stid, and I guess this is pressure-free?
and actually done done -- I got my final evaluation in the mail yesterday, which means that ALL the paperwork that was needed for my diploma is complete!!!!
gee whiz, jmc!
hi
flip now..............................
YAY STID!
And I bet that evaluation was sky-high.
