*scooping up popcorn* How's ruru?
really in pain jellen..but coping
Oh no!
!! what's wrong with Ruru?
I wrecked my knee lynxxx
Hi Jellen - how are you
Jellen, would you please take a look at tr8-45? I'm trying to get the same ending as the sn ...but am having trouble....Thanks
not tennis - showing off in front of Agassi?!
tr8/45 is a plural for tr7/32
Try the same ending as the dogs who indicate where game is. In other words, use the po8 as your model.
Hi, lynxxx...I'm a little miffed at men, except ruru...but otherwise okay...
Try the same ending as the dogs who indicate where game is.
hi Haz & Samantha
Yo.
Hello, lynxx and all.
my tennis is over for this year
hi haz
Hello, Haz
are you going to be OK Ruru? what is going to happen with it
I will need surgery
Do you get a replacement knee? Are you going to be . . . BIONIC?
I won't be able to kneel on magnets that's for sure
I can hear a theme song in the background
Do you people ever sleep
I'm just saying that the potential to be AWESOME is in there somewhere
well I just got up from a Nana nap - does that count Nonna?
Not that ruru's not already awesome . . .I mean, oh shut up while you're behind, Samantha
<---not feeling awesome right now
Thanks much, Haz. It wouldn't take it the first time I tried.
I see you are in Oz I am having a Nanna nap mysekf
You're welcome, gapeach.
how are the newlyweds haz?
They're fine, getting their house in order, quite literally.
Or is that an NZ flag I can see Lynxxx
do they live somewhat close to you or far away now?
Aust. If you click on the icon photos you can see details of players Nonna
They're about a 10 minute drive away so they're not that far. Sorry to hear about your knee, ruru.
thanks haz.. that's nice that they didn't move a long way away. I'm happy for you
My inlaws live a solid two day's drive from me. They've been known to drop in unexpectedly. :0
Thank you.

good to see a decent sized grid for the weekend! :)
Greetings friends!
good morning!
nice to see a decent-sized grid on a Saturday

hi chic
Hi ruby
Roti
ty chic, that started me off!
Sorry
I don't mind a bit... how are you chic? And are we the only ones here?
I thought mrp was here. I'm ok got up in wheelchair today and went therapy. I'm just sick of the food.
when my husband was in hospital, I brought him food from home as he wouldn't eat anything
I'm on special diet don't want to screw. With that but I'd kill for a yummy medium rare hamburger
how long will you be in hospital?
'cyber passes a yummy medium rare hamburger' to chic...xxxx
With cheese and fries of course
hi dizgrannie!
oopsie 'cyber passes the cheese and fries as well'...lol
Not sure my next appt is sept fifteenth
hey ruby, hows things?
He will tell if I can put weight on that leg
we finally have some hot days, but I don't mind, except for the tiny biting "aoutats" which are very annoying
google is my friend...aoutats are mites...grrr irritating little buggers...
but these bite and I seem to be allergic so they never stop itching, even after a few days
have you tried calamine lotion or a steroid base cream
I've tried everything! The problem with the latest is that it is just under my eye and I'm afraid to use anything topical (or scratch)
the pharmacist gave me pills that totally paralyzed me and didn't stop the itching anyway
OUCH!!!
just couldn't lift my arm to scratch lol
ruby, take some antihystamine, they work wonders. I used to come up in great big pussy lumps when I got bitten by mossies or anything but a chemist recommended taking them and I have built up an immunity so things are much better these days
the pill she gave me was a very strong antihistamine and I felt like one of those people being executed by lethal injection when he is given the first med which paralyzes but keeps his mind awake
husband's daughter is sending some benadryl from the US
Hi all, I was advised by the doctor to take vitamin B1 which I take every day, the mossies dont like the taste so you get the occasional bite but it doesn't react like it used to, I spent every holiday abroad at the doctors because of mossie bites
what food has B1? and hello norma
Hi ruby... I buy the tablets from the health food shop and take one every day, miracle cure
ok, next stop, B1 tabs!
My daughter takes them also and she has had a miracle cure also, she used to swell and get hard lumps now not a problem
morning all
Morning carlee
hi norma
{{carlee}}
hi ruby !!
this is a nice grid, 125 words in about 40 mins
the mozzie situation here is not good and in urban areas theya re spraying for mozzies b/c of west nile
we don't have any mosquitoes, I guess because of all the bats but these biting insects are awful
but makes me sad as we dont see bats as much anymore :(
love the bats! they live in a cave in the cliff above our house and look like tiny black butterflies when they come into the garden at dusk
they have the cutest little faces...
they notice when I'm out tieh Ruby and make circles around us, coming very close but just out of arm's reach
we jsut dont see them in the cities now at all :(
you should go to Austin where my son is; bat-watching is a huge event, right downtown
i remember once the trees got big enough in our neighbourhood when i was growing up suddenly we had squirrels and bats
it was very exciting
yay, half and time to take a break. See you later!
byebye ruby ( 2 from nbt/nbs then back to bed for me)
and nbt/nbs in 36
back to bed i go
good morning a
ll
hi girlies! and boyzies :)
hi gal :)
such a quiet night for a saturday!! I have no milk, it is intolerable! :)) LOL!
lolllll... sounds like you are still breastfeeding
BUT, I do have wine! so no tea without milk, but don't need milk for wine :) * am able to justify it *
hi sprite ! **hugs**
sounds perfectly reasonable to me
you just put a song in my head... can you guess which one?
...
Hi?
hey lady :)
Hello my dear
Hello ladies how goes it ?
how's life today?
hi chic :D
Hi Chic
I just got an upset tummy and I'm awake again
Waiting for other computer to be available in order for pizza
aw :( Sorry to hear that.
but glad to see you, chic. Hope your tummy settles soon.
I could do with a pizza and an extra computer as well, grin
Me too I was asleep and a nurse woke me up again
Chic do you have Camomile tea?
jeezz chic that is so stupid! Why can't they let you sleep?
I just took a pill not what I wanted to do
Heron I'm hospital they don't have natural stuff
O crap hope you are ok
fireflies, btw. Very very nice and easy grid.
apart from the tummy and the lack of sleep, how are you doing, chic?
I was up in the wheel chair today and went to the therapy room for a session with therapist. It was intesting
Ginger Ale is also good for tummy owies
oh great you were up :) Did it go well? What did the therapist say?
Yes I did quite well with all the tasks. She praised my efforts. I'm still having an A fib but the BP is low
sorry, was called away.. back now
well take care of you! Easy does it. Wish I could stay but I have to go. Big *hug* for you both.
The cardiologist was supposed to come today but he didnt
Thanks sprite byee
Bye Sprite.
Get better CHic
It will be awhile until surgeon says I can get up and bear weight on this leg
We3ll I am off too

Don't have it. Truly struggling today.............
wh7: wild rejoicing
tx gray -- you just gave me 4 words!! :-)
ah, I see Meryl is in the grid today :-)
Good morning kids.
hey, scrabs!
I need to pack and depart for vacation but am checking in here for a bit.
where are you heading? :_)
morning, all!
hey, sue :-)
Adirondack Mtns--my favorite place in the world. That could be my only vacation destination forever and I would be happy.
sounds great, scrabs!
ooohhh, bet it's gorgeous up i the mtns!
*in
and morning, scrabs and une!
I am having separation anxiety about leaving the bunnies. My 23 yr old nephew will be here.
Hi Sue!
totally understand -- I really miss my pups when I'm gone :-)
great that you have someone who can stay with them
presumably your nephew knows how to take care of the bunnies...
I snuggled up Gandalf and Tucker but I cannot catch Miss Bea down here.
playing hard to get? LOL
btw, une, I went to high school with Meryl (she was a year ahead of me)
Sue, he lived with me from 16 until he graduated from college in May. Now he has an apt with friends in Buffalo. (30 miles north.)
really?! wow . . .
But like any young male he needs to be trained so I always have to give him detailed instructions and reminders.
:-D
ah, so he knows the bunnies well, good. And I am familiar with the training of young males, as you know :-)
the time I left my daughter's boyfriend to house/petsit while she and I went to NYC, I left a loooong list of instructios! LOL
(I have left mine at home for a week with the cats and dog, and everyone has survived, but it does make me a bit nervous...)
he did a great job!
I have one escape artist -- always worry that she'll make a run for it!
I didn't do that with my trip one month ago and the sink was full of dirty dishes, he left uneaten plates of salads in the bunnies' rooms, did not bring out the garbage for pick-up, ...the bunnies were cared for just fine though, so I shouldn't be too picky.
Dopey and oblivious = so many young males. I tell him that he and his future wife will thank me someday.
i be a big list maker LOL
oh well, dirty dishes seem to be unavoidable - even my 62-year-old still does that :-)
I survive with lists. Read "The Checklist Manifesto" by Atul Gawande, MD. He discusses how crucial list are in so many fields---airline industry, medicine/surgery...
will check it out :-)
Quick read.
gm
Hi kje!
wow, scrabs -- rave reviews on amazon!
morning, kje
thought you were hiking today scrab
gm une
It is his 3rd book. He is a surgeon in Boston.
Have a great vacation, Scrabbs!
and good morning, you all
morning, annie!
Yep, leaving soon, as soon as I leave here, get laundry downstairs, throw clothes + stuff into large duffle bag, fill cooler....I am pokey in the morning.
he is a good writer
Hi Annie + Bobby
Yes, he is.
hi scrabbs, une, sue, kje...told Bobby you said hi and he smiled..he just got up...my grandson is a teenager today
happy bday to your grandson!
Congrats. Bar mitzvah coming up or already done?
hi, kje and annie!
thanks, will pass on your greeting....was
congratulations to your grandson, annie!
teenage boy... wow
Little One, one of my beloved DS patients, and her family came down here to visit me last week. They are my friends too. She is doing great.
thanks, uu
Scrabbs, does she work in a workshop or is she too young?
She's just 2 1/2 and we are eagerly waiting for her to walk on her own. She has gained 2 lbs since heart surgery in May.
Oh, Little One! That is wonderful that she is doing well. She is in my prayers too.
She is so darn cute!
Bobby walked at 23 months.
I bet she is. Some DS kids are just adorable.
Her setbacks = 2 wks in PICU in Dec then 8 wks in PICU at Duke in the spring.
That's a lot for a little one to handle. Her parents too.
Certainly worse for the parents + all who love her. She will never remember those nightmares.
Thank G-d.
How are Mary's children?
Little kids are very resilient. They stay in the present moment and just want to play.
Mary's kids are doing well. They also came here with Little One's family. Mary and Little One's mom were close friends. I met Little One's mom during the funeral when we sat together at the Mass. She was a pallbearer and I did a reading.
Mary's youngest broke her wrist in mid-July and got her cast off last wk.
How old are they now?
The oldest and youngest will be 11 and 4 soon. The boy was 7 in the spring.
Oh my..time does goes on. Does the older girl remember her mother?
The grieving is hardest on the adults because we know what the kids are missing without Mary, and what Mary is missing.
Yes, very and sadly true.
She does and is afraid of forgetting what her mother looks like, what her voice was like, the color of her eyes, etc. The boy lost his memories for her about a yr ago. The youngest never knew Mary, just knows Mom is in heaven.
Are there any recordings of her voice?
Videos + lots of photos, but Dad is not ready to view and share those.
And Mary recorded audiotapes during her illness.
Terrible deep grief. The children will always have the recordings in time.
At some point, probably as adolescents, they will want to know details about their mom.
On a happier note, the bunnies will be fine and you have a great week. you deserve it.
I'll return Wednesday evening. After I find 4 more words I will get ready.
The pull of Babble. LOL
Yay. 100/165. Off I go! Enjoy the day!
Bye!
The third wh7/52 (last wh7) is an extra word on Lickety's list.
thanks
roper
oops
sorry
Molly, I have all the wh 7's...there are 4 of them
Wow, that is weird. I have all 12 w's and there is still the last wh7/52 on Lickety that makes a 13th w word.
I have none, if anyone wats to clue
there are 10 wh's
hi kje, wh5....war cry
and extend for 5 more
ty ty ty
yw yw yw
Again, weird. 10 wh's and 3 we's would make 13 w words.
ah, no making wh7?
ah! alt spelling
there are 2 war cries that end in 2 vowels, kje
Molly, there are 13 W...and they are all legit words
Like I said Annie, it's weird. The grid I'm looking at says there are 12 w words.
Molly, are you on babble expert?
Mine says 12 too.
Nope, regular Babble. Thank you Bea, I thought I was going nuts.
12 w words here too
Im playing on Expert and there are 3 we's and 10 wh's and they are all accepted words
annie - expert has 13, babble has 12
okay
Lickety, and therefore Expert, quite often has extra 'valid' words as the version of Enable that Lickety uses is more recent than Babbles. Not uncommon for this to happen Mollly
good evening, lynxxx
... is the latin abreviation for "that is" accepted on Expert as an ending for the war cry?
Hello Miss Annie and all
That would be the extra word Dos.
... yeah, that's it ...
perhaps babble is being prudish?
Nah!
So technically speaking, points are only counted for the Babble words, not the Babble expert words? Is that correct?
yes
Babble Expert is NOT connected to Babble
hungry
must go hunt and gather... bbiab
Bye kje - enjoy
depends on what I find, lyxx ; )
morning all...can someone pls give me a clue for the de 6/27

Now I'm really confused. In the reposting of the list, I still have a missing wh7. And the legit wh7/56 is now missing.
good morning Molly
Hi Mom, how are you?

Hello MRP
car.ee; is there a reason you aren't sleeping?
Hi mrp :)
hi peri and Annie
hi all :) lickety is getting the job, it just has to be created (interim job) for him so he can take the position. I hate corporate politics!
I can't figure it out Nef. I take my melatonin, but am still staying awake. I have always had insomnia issues, but thought they had gotten better.
At least the kids are gone for the weekend....but I do have a ton of typing to do.
hi peri! did the timtams arrive??
ok, keep us posted, I am looking forward to meeting you both!
hi car, annie, nef et al :)

Good luck to Lickety!!!

I only have one de6/27 to uncurl
de6/27= to uncurl hair
hello everybody
half this AM
hi ruby
hi there ruby
hey rube
hey movieman. have not seen you in a while
and ty for my last 2 d's MM
Hi kje
Hi movieman
hi car
Guten tag everyone
Uncurl hair? Not sure what that means. Makes me think of straight.
Think of the process to get ones hair curly...pe4
Could I please have a clue for the first in 5/10?
i have it in my email peri
ok
in5= still, not moving
The first one I have is burial
hi kje, sand, MM, baby, car et al :)
Oh yes I've just seen it. Thanks a lot.
morning everyone:)
Hi crossy
Making your sauce today!
((crossy)) !!
I could resend it just to be sure it is correct
Thanks movieman
(((MRP)))
hey crossy
this is such a wonderful group !
yw tabby
howdy peri,car,et al
((ruby))
and hello pe** (do we get special dispensation to not go to the PB?
{{crossy}}
no prob peri, please do
hi ruby **hugs**
Oh crud. Didn't even see it! TY ruby!
i think we best get dispensation or we will all be in the pb
what a party that would be!!!!
ty ruby did not see my name in the grid;) and yes you do
ill b ring the vodka and the bacon
I believe dispensation is required when referring to one's proper name
it is finally hot here, so I'm drinking rum and coke
Yeah rum & coke!!!!!
that might make you sleep car.
Nope. Doesn't help.
The other night I took 2 tylenol PM and then took my melatonin and still only slept for 3 hours.
alcohol makes me sleepy for a while
OMG! Football EPL has started again!! be still my heart!!
I'm all bitten up by aoutats, some kind of biting mite, the only bad thing about this place
maybe some Ativan or the generic verson, car. that helps me
that's true pe**, and then you wake up at 2AM!
same peri, and then I wake up in the middle of the night.... is not a good remedy for sleep, only for relaxation
tylenol pm does not work for me
mm,we have just been issued a severe weather warning,t-storms advancing in front of a cold front bringing hail and damaging winds...gonna be a interesting afternoon..so if i vanish, you know my power is out
Chelsea are taking on West Bromwich Albion this evening
I have been hesitant to take a prescription sleep aid as I am the head of household with 2 kids and an elderly mom, but something has to give.
my family in London are all serious Chelsea supporters
car your melatonin levesl may be normal, if so melatonin might not help
i see that MM, is happening is just over an hour from now!
the generic version of the atavan does not leave me sleepy the next day like the Ambien does
Lets see if they can win their first game under Villas-Boas
100 left, bbl
Go to bed MR Pres.
am watching arsenal v liverpool... and no, don't tell me the results please
car - do ot use ativan as a sleep aid
infern, you go to bed! ;)
{{herin}}
fyi - good sleep hygeine is superior to sleeping aids in ALL long term studies... personally, I would not use any of them
I used stilnox as a sleep aid and did NOT sleep... nor do I remember a thing about the 4 hours of sleep walking that I did
NO Rage is epic
when I had chemo, my consulting MD in Boston (I was in Miami) told me to tell them to put Atavan in the drip and it kept me from getting sick
since my apnea has developed and i have that ungodly cpap machine the best i get is 2 hours at a time say fromm 11 pm to 1 am,then up till dawn, then a hour or so then the day begins..:/
ativan is a decent antiemetic for chemo regimens... we use a combo ativan, benadryl, haldol... but that is completely different
poor crossy :(
4 hours max in every 24:(
I was very lucky
what a f'er crossy!
but 5 min here and ten min there
I need (and get) 8 hrs
DH takes naps totalling more than 8 hrs but thinks I'm a lazy slug
it is like sucking on a vacuum cleaner set to reverse and having the thing blow dry air down yer gullet all night
too vivid, crossy! hahah
what a load of shite!! the game is started for us at 55 min?? all nil all, but still! I paid my money to watch this on foxtel, live!!
lol
:(
any clue for the wh7 after Burger Kings sandwiches?
they did not start the feed till 55 min in?
that is a rip off
DH needs a wack up the side of the head ruby, with a nice heavy skillet
too right crossy, it is a promised programe of full football of the WHOLE match and we get this?? just wrong
ty ouw, that gave me a bunch!
back. Aunt Jean was in bed and loves to watch the cooking shows Sat. AM. She just couldn't miss "Julia" today! :-) (now I need to read back and catch up with the chog!)
i would give them a call if you paid special for this programme
did anybody see the movie Chocolat where Lena Olin smacks her brute-of-a-husband with a skillet?
yes
cast iron, of course!
don't do it ruby!!!
one of my favorites
I think it's funny
i remember ruby!
crossy slowly backs out of the chog....
keep the fantasy alive ruby
hey, ruby -- just watched "Joueuse" -- very good film but was surprised to see that the class struggle exists in France like in England . . .
no, I feel sorry for him, if he wants to liken me to a marmot, sobeit
be careful crossy, be very careful
Crossy you take care
Sandrine Bonnaire was excellent and it was fun to see Kevin Kline in a French film :-)
for sure, une, even in our tiny village it is obvious. But since we're American, we're exempt
Crossy....your sleep pattern is what I have been doing the last couple of nights. Sleep until about 2 and then I am up.
I haven't seen it, une, but will watch for it
indeed car, then maybe an hour or so at dawn
do any of you have a 'special' story about what you did to your partner to get a point across?? One that involved some type of destruction??
it's out on DVD
Yup. Finally feel asleep after 6 and then just tossed and turned.
coastal scenes in Corsica -- gorgeous
but i fall asleep initally in less than 2 min.mrs says i have fallen asleep in the midst of speaking
never, mrp, I just walk away quietly
Nope. Takes me forever to fall asleep.
<-- loves Corsica
ok, just passing thru -- byeee *poof*
<----- wants to see corsica
when I have trouble falling asleep, I just think of 7-letter scrabble words. Works like a charm
howdy une...bye une
so, I am the only one that has thrown the iPhone, xbox and computer over the balcony???
Uh oh...
you are my ideal drama queen, mrp!! I wish I could be like that!
that is an expensive fight, mrp
I am dull dull dull
sometimes mrp..i want to toss it all over the side, pull the damn fuses put a nice wood stove in and a bunch of kerosene lamps and lock myself in a room with 200 or so good books
ok,,, maybe I am insane then... but on the night (after night, after night after night of being ignored and told I was a B, I reacted)
mrp, are you looking for hints to use on Lickety? I didn't do anything "destructive" to DH; but he definitely got my message about his clothes on the floor
The wh listed words are incorrect. Here are the correct ones: wh4/9, wh 5/20, wh 4/11, wh 5/22, wh 7/56, wh 7/52, wh 7/52, wh 8/70, wh 5/20
this is a lovely chog but I have to go feed the troops (small army, 2 dogs and a husband :( )
Mr. President - You sound like 'War of the Roses' (1989) Classic, epic fight scene between Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.
did someone give me a clue for the last wh7 or did I miss it?
{{molly}} with the great last name!!!!
nef, he got my message about his his clothes on the driveway !!
War of the Roses is like DH's previous wife!
it isn't war of the roses. not at all,... but he pushed the boundary and I pushed back
see,he did it wrong in war of the roses,i am the type who would get a chain saw cut the whole darn house in half and let her pick a side
I just kept kicking his clothes under the bed (since he kept leaving them on the floor where he took them off) until he had nothing to wear and couldn't figure out where all his clothes went! :-D
husband, the other day, in a fit of pique, threw a Baccarat glass on the floor. I just (quietly) cleaned up the mess
tell him to toss it in the fireplace like the greeks do at parties
Ouwac, did you see my post? The word you're looking for isn't in the grid. Well, it isn't accepted. It's in there.
i am not a complete biyatch, I run on that about 25% of the time, but he went well past his 'used me by' date, and I reacted to it in a way I thought he would understand
or get plastic wine glasses for him
more worried was I that one of the dogs would get glass in his foot
Wow. I would have made my DH clean it up!
thanks moooly
you're a better man than I, nef, I was afraid for the dogs! He would never clean it up carefully enough.....
I need a clue for the WH 5/22 please.
my mrs does not do tantrums, they do not work on me,but she has other morse subtle and more devious methods
bbiam... must go kick weed's butt in scrabble
It was kind of frustrating this morning, looking for that word. Then the list got updated, but now the wh 7/56 is missing from the list.
wh5 - war wh5!! or indian yell?
Duh. NM. Found it.
Car...wh5 dee doo
Need to take a break. See you all in a bit....unless i fall asleep!
crossy, I know the tactics, and they work well! :)
sweet dreams if you do, car....!
I don't care enough any more to devise tactics
see you all after dinner
bye ruby!
tc ruby
And my FB chat went off to bed. Hello everyone I missed
ruby, time to get out... caring is what matters.
hi herin. What are you doing up at this time of day?
howdy herin
herin and I are both in not sleep mode
yes,if you and your mate are just pulling along like a pair of old plow horses only because that is what you have done the last 20 years,it is time to freshen things up
I guess you're right, mrp!

the best thing to do are for just beacuse

soccer boots signed by Tim Cahill of Evertaon

everton even
not exactly something you can use?
what the heck was that?? I only pressed enter once!
hic-cups. We all have them at 1 time or another
take the boots to a pub that really gets into the footy on the big screen and auction the things off to the highest bidder
good idea crossy!
(I can't thik of a single word starting with an E that works in this grid today!)
en8?
What would a person do with someone else's soccer boots anyway?
think sword nef
Nef - ep 4/5 fencing
fireworks unaided, last word dr6
thanks Shirl. I've been trying everything that doesn't work so far! :-)
eo 4/4 going on forever
well nef, it is up to the individual as to what value the boots have to them
congrats gremlin
en 6/18 - main course of meal

Is the total for today 265 or 266
265 for Babble 266 on Lickety.
it is a wh bzzz
Thanks, kje. I've got it.
Lickety says 265 for me.
pe7 = French for father + an atom?
French father + charged molecule
good clue rbud
and grem
yay, grem! ;p
Yes, but Lickety lists a 3rd wh 7/52 that is not accepted in the Babble list. And Lickety is missing wh 7/56
a molecule which is in many cases just an atom!
ohh, okay - I just checked the total number
I'm guessing the wh7 it has is a variant spelling of the first wh7 (change second to last letter)
ty rbud
ey?
ie
Hi all...
howdy jellen
hi jellen

thanks, will check it out
hi BR. Are you enjoying the nice weather this weekend?
Hi Everyone
Hi, DR and BabbleRabble
hi DR
Hi Jellen
hi Jellen (didn't see you before)
Hi Nef
Howdy Nef!
No A in the grid.
How's life treating you these days, Jellen?
clue please for the last wh 7/52
No A, no play.
sorry Kaplan
S
sammy, the wh 7 is the extra word in Lickety's list
Oh, life is okay...Back in the dating world, which is strange...
oh, give it a try, Kap. it isn't too bad so far (although I'm chatting nearly as much as I'm finding words!)
Jellen, I couldn't imagine that!
so even though lickety says i need another w, i am ok?
Sorry, sammy, senor moment: one 2h 7 ends with a double vowel
yep, sammy. You are OKAY
thanks nef
sorry, sammy. I don't know what I'm talking about (and this isn't the 1st time that that's true) there are 2 wh7/52, one is making wh and the other is the person making it
The list has three wh 7/52 === the last wh 7/52 is the extra
thanks for the info, BR; I haven't listed yet
Concerning the wh 7's - are there 4 all together?
Time to get moving...see you all again soon...
Oh, is kje still here?
for something truly cutting edge,i submit this as my tidbit of the day!!
http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1QZEub/w ww.designboom.com/weblog/cat/16/view/1 5557/tesco-virtual-supermarket-in-a-su bway-station.html
yes, the first one is a wh 7/56 ---- like I said, the last wh 7/52 is the extra
I have a bad joke to share...is that okay?
bring it on jellen
Two hillbillies are having lunch when a woman seated nearby begins to choke. Hillbilly asks her,"kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no. Hillbilly asks her "kin ya breathe?" Woman shakes her head no.
OK, Thanks. If someone had po 5/12ed it out, I had alread found 3 of the 7's, two 52's, and the 56. Now I'll look for the other 52.
oy I know this ;-p
Hillbilly walks over, lifts up her dress, yanks down britches and licks her butt cheek. The woman has a violent spasm and spits out food. The hillbillies' buddy says "ya know,I heerd of that there hind lick maneuver but I aint niver seed nobody do it"
<----hillbilly present.. ahem...
pfft, ruru!
LOL
LOL, Jellen!
jellen, i KNOW that guy... he lives just a couple of doors down from me
lol, sammysmom
and you don't want to smell his breath!
Oi, I can't type today. hadn't and already.
how he can afford to live in this neighborhood , i do not know but ....................
i love hillbillies.i learn all kinds of new words like "ustacould" as in "hey billy-joe,can you still play the pianna? "why no billy-bob,but i ustacould" :)
isn't toonie a canadian coin?
sad to say,yes it is
as well as a loonie
boatierra, there are only two wh 7/52s in the grid ... the third is an extra.
but we also still print 1000 dollar bills ,so we got over it lol
So I should stop driving myself crazy? *stops looking*
but it is also slang term
thx :)

mrs. Goldberg filed a suit to have enable remove it BR..that's why
the "tricle-down theory" is fine br,but the rich seem to think if they make the table with nice high sides, then no crumbs will be wasted on the poor and natural selection will finish them off, then all that is left are those at the table
then the floor can be swept and everything is nice and clean again
terrible having to step over that stuff every day on the way to the office you know
crossy...?... are you rambling or something?
took me years to understand, but many years a go my father was in a hard bind and we resided at a rich aunts for a bit till we got on our feet.she made my father sort church donation envelopes and mark the totals in a ledger and he was paid the going wage at the time.then one evening she came into the parlour and anounced that she had set up a charity dinner at 100 dollars a plate to help some orphans home and could we set up the hall.we watched her leave for the event, all regal and wearing a 250,000 dollar pendant.thats when i finally understood this segment of the wealthy..she is off to a 100 dollar plate charity diner, wearing 1/4 million dollars on her neck, and does not get the irony...
sorry yes,i am rambling and will stop
crumbs indeed br lol
time for a nice tea i think..brb

At least this simple little grid had a few new words.
this one has been easier than the last few
that's encouraging to know, ruru. I haven't had time to do grids with all the stuff going on here lately and am hoping to finish this one for a change! :-)
but I'm not done yet.. nef.. just so far it's been pretty easy other than the beauty salon word
e

nothing changes, I only had trouble finding the words I had trouble finding.

hey babble, do you think i have a chance at getting compensation for a needlestick from an IV in a nerve gone wrong?
back but no hope for much more
should i show my insurance to a doc's office i have been referred to to have tests done on my nerves?
you can do it ruby!
have you lost any function, Jen?
oh crap... I think I left about 5 miutes too log this time
hahah, kje, only have 145
flavor is good, but slightly dry
very limited function, nef, pins and needles in my arm all of the time
I just saw a stat that said only one in six malpractice cases result in a settlement or verdict
then i will be number 6
why would you not show your insurance to the doctor
so they don't "charge" my insurance, they pay for it
yep, much too dry... drats
good night
do you see what i am saying, the nurse put the IV in and it must of struck a nerve and now i limited mobility in my left arm
that will be a very tough case, jen
You can have the pins and needles sensation for a long time. It usually does get better as the nerve regenerates I think. I had nerve damage from my foot surgery back in 2006; now have the pins and needles sensation in the foot as the nerve regrows (they are terrible slow in growing, though)
have you had PT?
no not yet
i haven't seen the neurologist yet
OK, I am off... hagd all... I need to get moving
bye kje
bye kje..
was this needle in the inner elbow area (antecubital space)? And you should talk with the doctor about who to see
did you read the article, kje? cya
bye kje. Sorry your salmon is dry
no it was on the topside of my left hand
the nerve damage would be to the nerve beyond the needle site; so if it was in the back of the hand then only your fingers and grip would be affected
yes, making it hard for me to work
sometimes i get a pins and needles sesation in my whole arm
hi all, and my non-word is yooper (resident of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, from u.p.)

back. I had to do something for Aunt Jean; then fix her a lunch. (I've never had or cooked blood sausage before and DH is off on an adventure right now; of course that was what she wanted!)
nef, sometimes i get pins and needles in my whole arm, numb=y feeling
have you been "protecting" it or holding it in an odd position? Sometimes that can cause that sensation too. By holding it in a protected position it can cause some swelling in the areas around the shoulder and impinge on the nerve up there
back to the trouble spot
the damned wh words.............. i am still missing one
is it the imaginary word again?
i have been wearing an wrist brace, i didn't wear last night and not wearing it now and it seems worse
do you have the curds and ---- one sammysmom?
i have the first 4 ok... then i have wh7/56 which is not on lickety's list
Do you have the wh5 before your wh7/56?
then it seems that there is a 7/52 after the 8/70 that i am missing
I think lickety removed the wrong wh 7. he should have left in the wh 7/56 instead of the last 7/52
yes bzz
i have wh7/56 that is on lickey, is there another one?
I don't have all of them yet (haven't listed, but I have the 7/56 and then 2 wh 7/52 and a wh5/20
then i need a clue for the last 7/52 please
Try the wh7/52 pie
between the 70 and the 20
or sit on a wh7/52 cushion
Wh7/52 joke cushion
I think that that is the fake one, sammy
if you mean whhopie c9 which i say is a word) lickety says it is not a word
it is spelled with a double vowel, sammy
whoopie
i have that one
my list says i am missing a 7/52 betweenb the 8/70 and 5/20
THAT is the extra word that BR told you about
it's a fake
then why do i still need a word
i see what you mean sammy, it is not taking the "ie" one
so i cannot complete the grid
this is so frustrating
The ie one is NOT counted in the grid.
what does the grid box say you are missing? Word tiles and stats)
correct bzznbea
(sorry, I haven't listed yet so I'm trying to help while still in the dark)
it says wh4
on this page, check your Word stats list; is it a 7 you are missing for sure?
but i have both 4.s
refresh?
Do you have 3 we4.s?
i tried refreshing
no only 2
You need 3
is there another wh 4?
All we4/8
i think one of the wh7/52 should be 7/56 as it is not listed
thanks bzz-- it was the damned we4/8 that i was missing
Good!
YAY, sammy!
i think i will go for a head bang up against the wall and calm down
thenks again ( s'mom slowly shuffles off hanging her head and enduring the smirks of chuckie and sammie cat)
sammy, it's Okay. we all do that

A lot of humidity too, kje?
I have a question, can you tell me why steam comes up through the pavements of NYC?
No idea, Jivingjenny0
through the grates
kje, I realise it comes through the grates but what causes the steam?
there are an awful lot of basements, subways, pipes (plumbing, HVAC, electric, etc.) and other assorted utilities and infrastructure under that city. I'd guess the steam has to go somewhere
It's the steam heating system in Manhattan/ New York that you're thinking of. Steam is generated by power stations underground and piped into buildings for heating, cooling or power. The steam from manholes, etc is a build up of condensation and drips hitting boiling pipes and evaporating. It's a pretty dangerous system and pipes blow under pressure fairly frequently sending up boiling steam. give me good old gas central heating anyda
there ya go
sounds right to me, too
Thanks BabbleRabble that seems a good explanation and one that my brother in law has been trying to find out for ages. I told him it would only take me a few minutes lol
Thanks BabbleRabble that seems a good explanation and one that my brother in law has been trying to find out for ages. I told him it would only take me a few minutes lol
<---- being reminded of the famous scene in The Seven Year Itch :-)
there's a statue of that scene in Chicago, I think
Its a pretty iconic scene, Java. I absolutely love that movie :-)
Taylor Swift just tried re-creating that in concert. It didn't have quite the same effect. : )
I *think* I just read something about it just being put up - bigger than life, too. And people can peek underneath, if they are so inclined
no pun intended
LOL, Molly. Taylor's biggest fan (my daughter) showed me the video. Fair play to Taylor....she soldiered on!
Did you see the pic of my Suzie with Taylor?
I did Soodle, it's adorable. At least Taylor was professional enough to have dance trunks on under that flouncy skirt, "just in case".
Apparently, the scene in "The Seven Year Itch" had to be re-shot because Marilyn was wearing see-through panties the first time. Enough said.
According to the Taylor Oracle (Suzie) they were magic knickers. (The 'suck it all in' underwear). Though why Taylor Swift needs magic knickers is a mystery to me. Theres more meat on a butchers apron than on her!
There I go. Killing the chog again.
eop
Somebody has to take responsibility, Soodle
Hi Gwen, Hi Wht :-)
Hi everyone
we're all just in awe of your extensive knowledge and know we can't compete...
My knowledge of Taylor Swift is confined to a medley of three songs that our community band played, for the purpose of attracting tweens. Still haven't listened to her sing them.
My 16 yr old daughter is obsessed with Taylor Swift. She met her in Dublin at Taylor's only Irish gig. She claims it was the best night of her life. I'll try to put the pic in my profile.
Hi everyone
We did manage to convince some girls to sing along with us at one of our concerts. Let's see, White Horse, Love Story, and something else.
Not sure if I was sucessful changing my icon...
hi, all! busy Saturday for me...
Yes we were, soodle
I can still see my beloved cherry blossom tree. Hi Sue :-)
I see the cherry tree in the chog, but a different picture when I click on your handbag
and I was reading the earlier discussion of Marilyn Monroe; there is indeed a giant statue of her (in that pose) in Chicago.
There are many photos and articles about it; here is one: http://theweek.com/article/index/21739 3/chicagos-beyond-kitschy-marilyn-monr oe-statue
or if you google marilyn monroe statue chicago, lots of things will come up.
Chicago... yet another place on my list to visit. My brother was there in July & said it was an absolutely beautiful city. Le sigh.
Personally I have mixed feelings about it; seems a bit, well, rude.
and soodle, if I refresh babble, I see your girls :-)
I'll be in Chicago in September for a convention, but don't know if I'll have the time to see the statue.
Yikes!! 26 foot tall?
Well, it's right on Michigan Avenue next to the river, java2, so if you're downtown at all it will be hard to miss.
indeed, soodle, it is quite the thing.
soodle, what does your daughter's T-shirt say? (I'm guessing something related to Taylor?)
I might pass it on the way from my hotel to McCormick Pl., but my days - and evenings - are a bit full.
do you know which hotel, java2?
I'm in the Best Western
'I'm A Proud Swifty' is on her T shirt. (She has a Twitter account with that name, apparently). And Wow, at 26 feet, hard to miss is a bit of an understatement!
there's a Best Western Grant Park, which is reasonably close to McCormack Place - if you're in that one you won't go past Marilyn as she is north of the river
Yup, that's the one. But we will be taking an architectural tour (I think on/from the river), so I might see it then
oh, the river architectural tour is great! You should see it from there. (and even if not, the rest of the city is very interesting :-)
It's not my first time in Chicago, nor the first time for the river tour. But I do enjoy seeing what's new since I was there last. It's been about 4 years, I think.
Some years ago, Dublin City Council erected a statue in honour of Molly Malone (made famous in the song Cockles and Mussels). http://tiny.cc/7n8ha. There was outrage at the amount of cleavage displayed by Ms Malone!!
I don't know what they would make of Marilyn!!
was the Trump Tower done when you were there before? (it's done now...)
The last river tour, we had a docent who used to work at SOM and she knew a lot of dirt - stuff you don't ordinarily hear. Lots of fun. I don't think the Trump Tower was done then.
well, in Chicago's defense, it is a temporary installation; last year they had a similarly-sized American Gothic (the farmer and his wife with the pitchfork)
Well, if Milwaukee can have the Fonz, and Minneapolis can have Mary Richards, why not Marilyn?
Oh right. I didn't realise it was temporary. What becomes of the statues when they are removed?
ti 5/10 plz
Molly's have been known to display cleavage on occasion. : P
LOL.. Mary Richards, as in Mary Tyler Moore?
Actually, I think American Gothic was the farmer and his daughter...(no, there's not a joke there)
Yes, Mary Tyler Moore as Mary Richards, throwing her beret in the air.
LOL, Molly
I loved Carlson the doorman in that show......
ivesy, I have a plural that ti5/10
ty!
MollyL.... I'll bet there is a Malone in your family tree if you search hard enough!
Experiencing hunger pangs. Bye!
dunno what happens to the statues, soodle...
and bye, gwen!
Happy munching Gwen :-)
Bye!
Well, between that song, and my boyfriend Desmond and his barrow in the marketplace...I should really have a wheelbarrow, shouldn't I? Oh-blah-dee
life goes on...
so I have the two words from the e that's one down from the upper left corner, but no words from either of its two e neighbors....any hints or clues?
there's one that means to wear away
oh, duh, thx java2!

How are all of you?
hanging in there, waiting for a ride home (supposedly I could walk but I am lazy)
going away next week to an elderhoster (now road scholar).
will miss babble.
Oh Mixi that sounds fun.
sounds like fun, mixi! What's the theme?
music festival and Shakespear play.
Oh very nice combination!
*jealous*
going with mother-in-law, leaving hubby at home.
I assume in your case this is a good thing.
how nice for your mother in law.
we did it for our third wedding aniversary too. tee hee.
mother-in-law is great.

Hi Red. I was in the bath when you came in (but thats probably TMI!!).

Thanks :-)

A Soodlebath! Brimming with steamy water and good smelling salts.
Yup. A fragrant Soodle has returned! I am cleansed, exfoliated, powdered, and buffeted. The new, improved Soodle.
hi Molly
Hey Peri
Oooh! You smell good, Soodle! (Wandering back in to find a few more words again)
Hi everyone!

hi bichon
Oooh Nef.... you say the nicest things :-). Hi Bichon :-)
*Places a celery stick on Madame's pillow* (It used to be a chocolate, before the mad diet started)
Another gorgeous day in the Bay Area. Everyday sunny an not too hot
Sounds like you're having fun Bich.
A great time with the grands. We are going swimming now
Thanks Molly (I think). Are you in San Fransisco, Bich?
Have been for the last 9 days. I sadly return home Monday
I'm actually in San Mateo, south of SF
We usually don't spend time in the city
<-----Pea green with envy. SF was my absolute favourite city in the US. That seafood chowder in the sourdough bread features in my dreams.
Still very very envious!
Anytime anyone says "pea green" I launch right into The Walrus And The Carpenter".
sing out, Molly
Still with the Lewis Carroll?
that does not look right. Sing out loud, Molly
First Bichon gets me thinking about Seafood chowder, now Molly gets me thinking about Oysters..... sheesh!
hey there Kap and Yetta. did you find the ye5?
Hello again!
Hi Car ((())))
Yeah. Why?
just wondering thats all
{{{sooodle}}}
HI Kap :-)
Phantom Dorothy.

Oy indeed.
Not just 'Would like some Seafood chowder' but actually craving some. And I'm not even pregnant..........
hi again, all! home finally...
and I have 127 left, so there.
WB Sue :-)
hi sue!
hi nef, and hi again, soodle!
Hi Nef :-)
soodle, Frank moved here after 25 years in San Francisco - he has been complaining about the weather ever since :-)
I don't consider the weather in SF all that great.
me either, bea, but apparently here it is either too hot or too cold.
And SF is "just right"?
evidently.
Hi uusue! Welcome back. 92 to go here.
I missed saying Hi to a bunch of you...so ...HELLO Everyone!!!!!
hi, car.!
hi, car.!
hi car.ee
phantom: torpedo
eeyore is sort of in the grid, car...
Grrr...I need 1 e, 1 i and 1 o to finish the vowels.
Yes it is!
Can not believe next month will be the 10th anniversary of 9/11...
I know Bzzn....still feels like yesterday on some days.
My one and only visit to SF was in March 2007. We left a damp, drizzly Ireland, and found ourselves in brilliant but not too hot sunshine in SF. I just fell in love with the place.
SF is also often drizzly, or at least cool, and foggy
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
I love it there too, soodle. I was there in March, 1999.
Hello Min! Welcome!
Hi Min.
Hey, Min.
Where did that Z come from?
Great clues in your story as always Min! TY!
My goodness... 10 years since 9/11? Its such a watershed in so many people's lives.... I find it hard to think its been 10 years. RIP to all those who lost their lives.
You're welcome car.eeyore. I gave up on grid already
Truth be told, I'm not looking forward to all the recounts of that day. It was a pretty scary time around here.
hi, min!
SOODLE!!!! Quit sitting on the return key!!!
I have mixed emotions about it. I think people have forgotten and have become so callous. I think it might be a good reminder of what is really important.
Soodle has passed out at her keyboard again.
But I do agree, it will be very hard to relive all of it over again.
Good point Car.
Yes, it was. Hubs and I had only been married a year. I had no idea that anything of such magnitude had occured until I returned home. Hubs grabbed me up and gave me the biggest hug.
I can't even blame the cat for that... I have no idea what happened. I'm sorry.
MollyL,I'll po5/12 you in the right direction for the PB
Hello uusue2! How are you? You picked another good theme for today. Did you do tomorrow's theme as well
Yeah, off I go.
I can only speak on my viewpoint in America, but it seems for a while we were united. Now it seems like petty shit and money is the only think that anyone cares about. I, myself, believe that the country has just about imploded. In some ways I feel that the terrorists accomplished what they set out to do.
I'm going to accompany Molly. In penance for my keyboard fail.
thx, min! I gave sprite a bunch of ideas but I don't think she's using them all at once
Oh ho! Up to no good in the PB are we!
Ssshh Molly. They will all want to come.
car.eeyore can join you because of her viewpo 5/12.
*Cough* Sputter* Um...saying penitent prayers in the PB.
Ugh. Oh Well. Time for dinner. BBL.
bye, car!
there's a party in the PB?
*Mixes drinks while saying prayers*
Molly + Soodle = Par-Tay!
Bless all those who distilled, Amen.
Goodbye car.eeyore! I'll see you later in the chat log.
indeed :-)
Amen.
My glass is empty. Back in a sec...
Our larger, which art in barrels, Hallowed be thy grain.
My glass is half full :-p
Give us this day our foamy head, And forgive us our spillages, As we forgive those who spill against us, and lead us not to incarceration, But deliver us from hangovers, For thine is the beer, The bitter and the lager, Forever and ever
Amen
got lots of clues from min's profile - thanks, min!
Now that I have said my bed-time prayers, I can go off to bed. Bless you all. (and thanks Molls :-) )
You're welcome uusue2.It has been awhile since I did one.My summer job prevented me from doing stories.
night, soodle!
Goodbye Soodlebum! I will see you tomorrow in the log
ah - I thought I had just missed them. They are great!
back for my last 13 - night Soodle
*Sprinkles holy water and faerie dust in Soodle's wake*
Hello all, I finished earlier, but here to clue for a bit if needed.
firewords
and the brewers are back on top
Hello Meliae! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Congratulations java2 on your fireworks! Good for U!
thanks, minveryork
(and if you're a mets fan, sorry about it - for now)
yay, java2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks. uusue
Congratulations meliae on finishing early! Good for U!
congrats!
I am popping back in.
Hi redturtlehead! How are you? Welcome to the grid.
hi minver.
Hey red! How goes the recovery?
hi again, red, and hi, champ!
Hello ChampFit! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
HI uusue!
just had to chase a few kids out of my driveway - it goes from the street through to the alley, and apparently they thought it was a thoroughfare. Which it isn't.
I spent the afternoon at Laser Quest with a passle of 12 year olds. I'm getting old and crochety...this last kid is killing me!!!
been there, done that, glad my "kid" is now 21!!!
Yeah, I spread them way too far out. No patience with this last one. Although it might be easier if we weren't in a drought with temps over 100 every day!
Indeed, champ! I only had the one, but was 38 at the time...
I was 36 with the last one. If I started that late, I woulda been one and done too!
The wife of one of my colleagues had 3 children after she was 40 - I would be dead, I think!!
No kidding! Nothing but harder as you get older. My brother started at 43. He has a 4 and 2 year old, and they're kicking his butt!!! I laugh. ;)
I bet!!
I had my first two in my early twenties, and my third in my early thirties. No WAY I could have any of that after 40.
Having grandchildren makes you realize why you have offspring early in life.
I had my first at 21. He
<--- may not live long enough to have grandchildren
He's dating someone with a 6 month old. I might be an insta-grandma one day. ;)
I was close Champ. I turned 21 ten days after my first was born.
I was 31, 33, 35, 36 when we had our 4 - they're great adults today, have 2 grandsons, both born to moms in 40s - everyone hail and hearty and very happy
and hi everyone
I was 31 & 36
hi all
hi, flosey and sue!
Hi all! Where the heck did Red go?
and hi again molly!
For me, pregnancy was so much easier when I was in my twenties.
maybe all this talk of children and grandchildren scared her off?
lol
TOTALLY AGREE Molly! World of difference between 21 and 36.
my pregnancies were a breeze
Amen that Champ.
also, Enable obviously does not have a PhD, or ho**er would be a word (it is the person who gives someone who is being awarded their PhD their ho**)
my pregnancy was just fine, although the birth itself was rather difficult
good word usue
Do not speak of enable to me. I want to smack it.
With a fish, Champ! I'll be right beside you!
I'm at 105 and seem to be a bit stuck...
88 left for me, which means I am 2/3 through, which is my own personal benchmark for when I can list, which I have now done.
I haven't listed in a week or more. Just sit here picking away...
I find it helps me get over the frustration bump.
Yes, I'm sure. I find it stresses me to fill in the blanks. Or maybe I've been an underachiever lately...that makes more sense!
hi everyone, clue for the tr6.21, the first one?
On a positive note, there were no A words in today's grid. Hoo-ah!
prefix for three + *** on a grecian urn
(it's also in the physics babblets list)
HATE the A's!!!
ty, UU
personally I think that any word that begins with a vowel is inappropriate
and don't get me started on words that start with two vowels. hello all
agreed...hellow peri!
hello...sorry!
hi, peri!
and two of the SAME vowel are the worst!!
indeed, uusue
Oooo, yes. : P
tada! finito!
YAY LBD!!!!! *relurk*
way to go lbd!
yay, lbd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and hi, stid! *whispering*
ty, ty, ty! some doosies today. hiya Stiddy!
done for me too, fireworks
whoooo hooooo PERI!!
yay, peri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yay peri!
YAY peri!!! *re-relurk*
tyty. now off to read for a while, hi and by stid
stidkid borrowing the computer. *poof*
hi, stidkid!
Good evening Babblers
hi, wht!
How is blessed Babbleonia tonight.
still clicking away!
droopt
CRAP! sorry!
nice try, champ :-)
typo on top of it!
Used in a sentence: Champ's eyes droopt as she attempted to finish the grid. : )
Say what you will Molly...the one i was going for was a word! :)
hi wht, champ, Moll, uuse, and everyone else.
But you stopt before committing a PB offense!
and hi stidmama
Heya Mab
Yes I did! What's in the PB this evening? Anything good?
hi, mab!
hi again. 95 left to find yet
Same here Nef!
I'm in good company then! :-)
I am down to 38. The grid is big but it seems mostly well behaived.
hi wht, nef, mab, molly, champ (cuz i didn't say so earlier) and UU.
31 here but I have been listing for a while
still holding off on the list. I have nothing for the 4th column O yet...help?
I have been listing for a while as well.
hi lbd and wht. I've been in and out all day; I hope to finish this grid (it would be the first one I've done and finished in about a month!)
oy4/11, what you say 3 times when the judge comes in
What the baliff says when the judge comes out
Of for goodness sake!
Ty Molly!
and then again with a different ending consonant
Unless you're Flip Wilson. Then you say "here come de judge"
it seems like a nice grid, but I'm concerned that I have only eight 7-letter words. I'm going to the list.
Sounds way better!
I'm low on 8's.
don't forget the -ier ending - it doesn't occur as often as it might, but sometimes it pops in and surprises you
Obviously I've missed several. have some though...
I have 6 of the 8's, only 2 of them are not plurals
stats for E in second column for nbs
er5/12
ty sue, will keep looking
*fish warning*
got it thanks
Only the sn8 and en8 are not plurals
en + first part of joyce kilmer's work + coffee *** or mary jane
sn 8/45 -- more of a quidnunc
WHAT??????????????????????????
more of the dog in Peanuts
thanks for dumbing it down sue!
or more officious
Quidnunc????
My point, Molly!
de6/7?
Champ, come with me and I will po5 out where the good liquor is in the PB.
uncurled, doxy
good evening from cambridge
wh 7/52 john wilfahrt was known in polka circles as one of the great wh 8/70
Hello Dorens
Oh...liquor!
ok, fireworks with one blank space in expert???
Lickety has an extra word today. Congrats Sue.
the third wh 7/52 is and extra in lickety's list
Hi Dorens
ty nef
hi wht... was in east arlington earlier.. waved to you from everett st.
Hello, Dorens
I can't believe I get BaRa's wh john clue.
And there is no wh 7/56 in Lickety's list either.
hello babblerabble, how are you?
So that was the breeze... :^)
oh well, i guess lickety is fallible (not infallible?)
mab, your age must be showing. ;-)
the first wh 7 is the wh 7/56
yup, cause there wasn't much else breeze, least not when i pulled in
that I actually know something about polka music... what's wrong with me? Jews don't polka.
no we don't, but we know about it, learned folks that we are
That must be the explanation, dorens. thank you.
Do you also do the schottische, mab?
I'm surprised yoni isn't in the dictionary. It's Sanskrit for the female genitalia
They don't? I didn't know that (I've listend to Klezmer music for a long time and thought that there was a resemblence
* not saying that goyim are less learned... don't want to start a flap about being a snob or anything. that was a JOKE*
funny bichon... not a joke? it IS
Nef, is Auntie in a better frame of mind at all?
<---Irish Shiksa takes no offense. : )
hahaha! good sense of humor, that molly has!
I wouln't joke about female privates
Barn dances were big deals years ago.
I took it as a joke.
bichon. you go straight to the penalty box then
It works in the grid, bichon. Off to the pb.
no no , what i said was a joke. then i asked if bichon was joking... cause of her yo** indiscretion. confusing myself and haven't even had a sip of wine
It does! It showed red when I first put it in. Okay, slink
Dang it! Bichon gets the booze!
mab, AUnt Jean is dying; she's now living with us. Her 92 year old bossy, walker-using sister just left yesterday. I'm so glad she's gone! AUnt Jean is loved and with us (her family) here
I think I deserve it.
I think I deserve it.
Hello Dorens! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
*sllinking off to 'fridge for a brewski*
oh nef... it's a mitzvah (check with the jews as to what that means). i am fine min, how's by you?
Can I get a clue for the de6,27?
{{{{{nef}}}}}
My monkeys are wilting.
to take the curls out of your hair, why
Undo a chemical curl Wht
*wht
sorry wht. too soon for me
(sorry, fingers have minds of their own)
Sorry to hear about your Aunt Nef.I just lost my G-Ma
I know nothing of Jewish words or traditions. :-( Raised in a small MN Catholic/Luthern town and no exposure to different religions. I'll have to look that up, Dorens.
You'd said a little while ago that she was quite depressed due to her nutritional status. Just wondering if she's still feeling that way. I mean, of course she knows she's dying, but at 90 plus...
ty uu and molly. I just could not see where that last 2 point tile was going to come from.
sorry to hear about your grandmother, min!
Maybe i should get my hair done more often.
it's a good thing nef... doing something good for others. a mitzvah. don't know if they count them up in heaven or what, but karma kind of thing maybe?
I am well Dorens.I just got back from taking dog on a walk.I have never walked him this late in the evening.
I think that de word is STUPID!
I tend to get it cut about every 2 or 3 months whether it needs it or not.
(wasn't raised with any kind of religion, just jewish traditions, and never knew the word before adulthood)
Thanks uusue2. She lived a good long life. She was 93.
might mean blessing?
Aunt Jean is only 86, mabs. Between the Congestive Heart Failure and then the fire in her building and the depression; she's managed to go too far down the road to come back even with my trying everything
sad nef... and condolences to min as well
oh, sorry, nef. And so sorry Min about your loss.
I'm sorry for both of you too. It's never easy, no matter how expected it may be.
Sounds like my Mom Nef. She's 87 and sleeps a lot of the time
So sorry to hear of your loss Min. (((Min)))
mitzvah actually means something one must do, like a law, but we use it more as 'good deed'
I just looked up that mitzvah word, Dorens. I guess I think that we have her here because we love her
really mab? never knew that!! thanks
that's what I just read: that it's actually a moral deed for religious duty or an act of kindness
And a Bar or Bat Mitzvah comes from that.
yes nef, of course you do, . I visited my beloved aunt juliet (actually ex husband's aunt, but we used to be very close and i do love the woman for sure) in virginia monday and tuesday... drove down a whole lot just to see her, she had a mastectomy recently and she's nearly 89. So her son told me on the phone it was a mitzvah and i said, i was doing it cause I wanted to. that's all. And we really had a blast
(((Nef)))) you are one of the good ones.
LOL, Molly! I wish that I was one of the good ones! :-D I think I just need to take care of people all the time!
clue for the ey5?
ey5 similar to eagles nest
I came home from the hospital on my 3rd day post-op after my hip surgery last month and tried to take care of Aunt Jean right away!
ey + ** p is what you say when some has deceased + repeat the third letter
oh nef, was that smart?
ty dorens and doxy. I never would have gotten that one.
i guess i mean was that wise? of course your intelligence isn't in question, but your good intentions and altruism can sometimes get in the way of doing what's best for you
probably not, Dorens. At least my family tried to slow me down; but they couldn't get her med schedule straight
but if you don't take care of yourself you're not helping the others-- learn to be a wee bit selfish, honey. I can teach you!!
I'm doing great now, Dorens. But I did realize that I couldn't do everything for Aunt Jean after that 1st day
OK, last one. pe7,32 for fireworks, please.
glad you're ok
French father + charged particle, wht
you're wonderful nef. Poor Aunt Jean... Yet she's so fortunate to have family.
sorry wht, i still ahve plenty left. don't have that one
sue just clued it

and thanks for that, BR!
wow. lickety's list sure helps today!
nef, I recommend hospice if you don't already have it. They can help a lot.
Lickety's list helps every day, Dorens. :^)
thanks for that, BR. We have Hospice coming to see Aunt Jean and they have given us some of the same info
true, but i'm just clickety clacking along now that i have it..
hospice was so helpful when my dad was staying with me his last few months.. don't know what i'd have done without them
Aunt Jean is DH's Aunt, btw; the 92 year old Aunt (her sister) was telling us that Hospice was stupid. I ignored her
good thinking nef
http://www.medicare.gov/caregivers/
my dtr-in-law (who is bipolar and has lots of other mental health issues) and my grandson were here and very helpful; but the 92 yr old made her nuts again. :-(
well in + not starboard isn't a word... clue for in6/21 please?
middle part of your foot, dorens
thanks sue.. i often miss that one
yw :-)

and dinner time, see you all tomorrow!
babrab, you are such a great resource... have you ever thought of gathering your wisdom, resources, etc and creating a website?
Be well, Sie
or at least maybe a page for your babble buddies to turn to when they need (and you aren't always available)
bye sue
thanks again, BR
yes, bab, the medicare site is very good.

Goodbye Dorens! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log
thank you GA. I think it helps!
Thank you dear Molly.
Min, I came in a few minutes ago....gathered that something had happened (but don't know what). I hope you are well.
Greetings!
Hey there, origami.
hi origami
Hello origami! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I'm hanging in there. How are you Min?
I lost my Grandmother, but I'm ok. She lived a long life
Oh, sorry! It's always hard.
Your dog on the right has the same markings as mine.
is there an re6/18 word between re5/10 and re7/28?
Oh, dear Min I am so sorry to hear that. May God bless you and keep you and your loved ones.
Thank you gapeach1066 and origami.
sorry to hear of your news min
Thanks JenMO16
epode
re6/18?
The one on the right is a foxhound/pitbull mix ... one on the right is a black and tan coonhound.
oops ... one on th left is a coonhound
re 6/18 word is re5/10 word + a hook letter JenMO16
I have a King Charles Cavalier & he's blenheim colored
So how stupid am I?I did a load of laundry before. As I was putting the laundry into my dryer,I realize I had forgotten to put soap in the washing machine. So do I re4/5 the whole thing again or hope water rinsed it good enough? I hate to waste all of that water again.
I guess I'd just let it go unless it was very dirty clothing, Min. My high efficiency washer uses *maybe* 1-2 Tbls of soap anyway
There are people who say that you need very little soap to wash clothes. A lot less than most people use. I suggest letting it go.
Minver, I love Cavaliers. They are little sweeties
Thanks! Off to go put "dirty" laundry into the dryer.
I love Cavaliers too. Never heard of'em until I got one
Just think of how the happy little agitator and water lifted all the dirt out of the clothes. And you're not stupid Min. : )
Actually, I've seen Cavachons, Bichon mixed in
It seems Cavaliers can be mixed w/any breed of dog.
Phantom words for me today were opinion & torpedo.
min- i am not sure what you mean on re6/18, before the second re7/28 word
or the one before 2 re7/28 words
Sorry JenMO16.I probably clued the wrong one.I only have 1 re 7/28 word so far. I gave up on this puzzle.
oh okay
re 6/18, before the second re 7/28 is a person who pays a landlord
Another re 6/18 word is re plus ti 4/4 word JenMO16.
got them min, found the ones i was stuck on

Go gapeach1066 go!
Min, I'm showing haveing two left...but I still have wh7-52 the 3rd shoing on Lickety's List.....should it be there
showing
I don't know gapeach1066. I never finished this grid.
ga, there isn't a 3rd wh7/52. That's the extra word on Lickety
Oh, OK, thanks Nef.
Then I need ye5-14 and er4-4 the 1st...please. Thanks
and lickety doesn't list the wh7/56 (which is just proir to the 2 wh7/52's
prior
ye 5/14 is a Jewish word, GA (but I'm not sure what it means)
er4/4 is a sea eagle
Dog is waiting for me to goto bed.I think he is feeling a little out of sorts because hubby is not here tonight
I am off to go snuggle with my dog. I leave you with a story of clues in my profile if anybody needs to use it.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
Good night, Min! Enjoy your snuggles with your dog!
sweet dreams, Min, congrats to the finishers and hello all.
Thank so much, Nef. That was the last word for this grid. Thanks for all the clues. See you at the flip.
YAY, GA!!!!! WTG!!!!
YAY peach and sweet dreams
hi stid
Thanks, stidmama. Where in the world are you?
how are you doing Nef? all healed up again? running half-marathons, I expect...
in the pacific NW peach -- are you in GA or China right now?
125 left
Oh, I'm still here with humidity in full swing. Take care.
LOL, stid!!! NOT quite yet! still using a cane most of the time; but can go for short distances without (just til I start limping; then I must use the cane again)
go egbok go!
good for you Nef -- that's excellent. An advantage to the cane for me was always the amazingly buff upper arms... :-D
STID!!
mcurl!!!! *considers the irony of only seeing the 15-mile away friend on a server housed 1500 miles away*
ti 5/10 pls
crazy isn't it!
Carmon and I were thinking about hitting the farmers market maybe tomorrow
ooh! that would be excellent! They have some nice new craft booths this year.
I can't find that one red, sorry
found it thanks stid
wanna share? LOL
I usually go home saturday night but she's working on a cake for an anniversary party next saturday and I'm staying over again
that sounds nice, mcurl -- did you get all set up for the coming year then?
well, we're still moving stuff over and trying to determine what "furniture" will fit after all 30 student desks and chair are in.
Hey--North Thurston SD/Seven Oaks Elem. is going to be hiring a 3rd grade teacher
oh, ick. That is really a tight squeeze... I am glad to be subbing this coming year instead of trying to do the whole shebang
it's the plural of ti4/4 stid
:-D So I saw! there are actually several available positions out there -- too far to drive through traffic for me right now.
thanks red. fish!
oh darn--it's for my granddaughter's class!!!
LOL even better! I am really more suited for older kids, I think. 3rd grade would be nice though... *thinks about all the cool things I could do with a class of 3rd graders*
well, if you're planning on subbing perhaps you'll get over there.
I also know NThurston has a mentoring program for new teachers, and that would be really nice, too.
I know, the teacher she had for 1st/2nd loop was a first year teacher and she was really pleased with the program. She got moved to the 3rd/4th loop for this year (jordan's class) but the first grade class sort of exploded and they are going to have 4 classes instead of 3--so jordan's not going to have the teacher she had the last two years---darn; but a good opportunity....
HA! Halfway!
indeed, that does sound like a fine opportunity.
I only have 26 left and I doubt I'll finish---no babble expert since by laptop took a nosedive!
I will look, but not likely to jump... feeling I want some time to "gel" before going full time.
wh 7/52 pls the third one. it's my last word...help!
understand....my nephew subbed a lot this last year and is having trouble finding a job....pigeon-holed himself into Music 9-12 and nothing else!
there isn't a 3rd wh 7/52, it's extra on Lickety. And Lickety missed the wh 7/56
red there are actually only 2 wh7/52 and one 7/56; lickety's list--I heard/read in the chat was wrong
i have the 7/56.
luckily I have marketable endorsements, but I need time to be available to the family for a change. First-year teaching I know takes a lot of time.
i need one more W word
Jordan just came in and said she's taking a break from her paint by numbers because "momma is saying bad words and I don't want to listen"!
*gasp* poor kiddo!
momma is trying to make gum-paste roses for the cake!!!!
ah, I know which words she is choosing! LOL
thanks for those two wh 7s, btw
earlier in the week she was tackling roses from butter cream frosting....glad I wasn't here LOL
:-D
I am totally fading out. I have a bit of a cold, so going to sleep early tonight. (((Hugs and choclits for all))) *poof*
Dang! 20 woords let to find and I cann't stay awake! Good night and Happy Babblinng ALl!
