From what little news I've heard this morning, it's headed his way. I saw an exit on the Jersey turnpike that was closed because of flooding. They said that has never happened before.

Yes, that's what it sounds like. He's on top of a rather high ridge, so no risk of flooding (he's a good 100' above the nearest river), and he doesn't have any tall trees near his house, so probably the worst risk is power outages.
Although he does have some rather large windows on the east side of his house; if they break it would be pretty messy.
Haven't heard much about glass damage from this storm. Mostly trees down and roofing off.

They bought 500 lbs of sand bags and placed a large tarp along the back of the house. Their house has never experienced flooding and they believe the builder was smart enough to grade the land correctly back there.

besides MRP...ther eis one mum i know she had a mastectomy 2 years ago..and now has stage 4 brain cancer...and a girfriedn of mine...is only 30..never smoked a day in her life...has lung cancer ( only found it cus she was camping ( she is a girl guide leader0 and fell and thought she broke a rib..went for xray....there was a shaddow... so did a biopsy and yeap is cancer..starts chemo tomorrow am

Phoned another part of the family, all were home and safe, but the lake had overflowed and the wind was threatening to blow the roof off. Waited a bit, worrying that son and d-i-l had gone kayaking, phoned again, no answer. Left another message. A few minutes ago (their midnight-ish) son phoned. Had been watching a movie and didn't hear the phone the first time. Went to bed. Got up for a pee and got the message after the second time. All well. Phew!
