here are the instructions she gave me: Instructions from ARB for putting babble grid results into profile: • Copy word list into an Excel spreadsheet (the word, the number of letters and the points go into 5 columns (because of ? for dictionary). • Then insert a column after the word. • Then write a formula in the first line after the word, example - " =left($B1,2)" (the $ makes the formula absolute) • Then copy the formula all the way down (put cursor in bottom right of the top cell with the formula and drag down to end of word list). • Voila you have 3 columns with first 2 letters, length, points

I've got used to it now. Gave up with the colour about a year ago
never much understood the whole issue with greying. I don't care at all. So, I have lots of grey in my hair.

I think the big mistake is when women of "a certan age" dye their hair black. It is much less kind to the wrinkles
comes from the same place as the size zero thing sprite
but you almost never see a grey-haired French woman. They can be 100 yrs old, walking with two canes, and they have red hair (or, worse, pink)
black is awful, actually makes people look older, which I guess isn't the intention
I think so too, Kallia. A sad thing. I may be messed up in many a way, but I am pretty comfortable being me and looking like me, which is greying and much overweight.
I sometimes think hard black is only for the very young.
we have a (male) friend who I'm sure dyes his hair black (or else it's a bad toupee) and it is awful

we have an Irish friend with a red-haired daughter who went "goth" and dyed her gorgeous red locks pitch black.

everyone thinks I am the youngest by about 15 years
serves them right! I think we have a choice, as we age, to be a little overweight and have fewer wrinkles or to be a little "chicken old lady" like me
lol... time will even out most scores, won't it. It is so sad, people comparing their children. Each is different, and unless ill, perfect in their own way.
my mother had fewer wrinkles at 85 than I have now
gives me a little satisfaction...I know its unworthy, but still lol
I am severely overweight but I have almost no wrinkles. My sister, 3 years the younger, is much slimmer but also much wrinklier. So I guess you are right.

it is very hard on the children. But then again, they are wise enough to know people can break under stress and duress. Nobody is infallible. If they can see that eventually even big bads can be forgiven and people can actually grow from them, it will give them a lot of confidence.

from what I know about it, they are right.
I know a couple of recovered alcoholics and always thought they were such lovely people because they had been to hell and back but since becoming involved in Al Anon I have realised that they "live" their 12 steps every single day
I would take the company of people who have been through hell and back over that of people who never had a hard time anyday.
Yeah sprite surviving hard times does make us humble and grateful and therefore happy

I have agreed to teach an honors seminar in the spring (honors students have to take an upper-division seminar outside their major) - I decided to do sports physics
I draw a pie chart for adolescents--168 hrs in a week. The challenge is to keep the wedges at appropriate sizes, i.e. do not allow "social life" to dominate. Keep sleep and school wedges at right sizes.

I really can't handle the thought of sick children. When I was pregnant, I was taking a CPR course. When it came time to do the child portion, I kind of flipped out just thinking of a child in such a severe position.
I truly have PTSD from my experiences over the years--dying kids, death, etc.
please, I would love that! in the 70's I had a boyfriend who streaked once,; it was inter and he wore a stocking cap and workboots!

I have many friends there that were stranded - it did make communities come that much closer together. I have been very busy at work handling those claims - dont usually work them directly but was helping with the VT office as many employees couldnt get in to work...roads were gone.

We harvested (well, picked) the apples from our two trees this week. I've made an apple pie and apple sauce. I also found a good recipe for pear crumble. We are so blessed with bountiful crops.

Jes, I didn't get up until 3:00PM....I have my days and night turned around. It was a beautiful day. I've had this problem for several years now. Other that allergies and sinus problems I'm OK.
there was frost in some of the valleys a couple of weeks ago but not here. They said that with all the water (to say the least) we'd have great foliage, but so far not that intense. But we're not at peak yet.
I'm not sure though that they weren't just trying to get the tourists to come to make up for all the destruction and loss

Yes, Eva, I live in GA. The winters are wonderful but the summers are wicked. Most people just go from one airconditioned place to another.

don't suppose the pups had been separated before that? incubation is 3 - 10 days, so if they were just separated, your friend's pup is probably exposed too.

I lived in CT for 7 years (I had a couple of strokes in 2002), my youngest daughter came and took me back to CT with her. She has a friend that is a teacher in Chicago who comes to visit every year and they go to Vermont for a couple of weeks. They say it is a beautiful state.

Hi Nef, I fell over a high 300yrs old kerb, broke my wirist, rearranged my face against a stone wall. The look would have been perfect for Halloween cos it really scared the kids. I was on hol for a week at my daughters and my husband says I'm not leaving the house again, a joke of course but I am now lacking my usual confidence. Plus today I had an Xray to check if I also broke rib/s!!!

Jellen -- COMFY shoes, clothes that don't need dry cleaning and are easy to get dry-erase marker out of... and that don't gap. I wear turtlenecks or a shell under every shirt just to be on the safe side.

there are some very comfortable slacks I got from Coldwater Creek that are zipperless and pocketless. Don't know about you, but if I have pockets I use them -- and THESE hips don't need extra baggage!

I swore by the J.C. Penneys' Worthington slacks myself, Jellen. I bought 2 pairs at a consignment shop and wore them pretty much continually for 3 years for work and they still look nearly brand new
When I find something I like, I try to buy several pairs/sets right away. Inevitably, the things I like are the ones that get discontinued... *sigh*

They have elastic waist but it doesn't buckle and are a knit, but they look more like a nice solid twill.

I think that there is such an amazing difference in womens' body shapes! I have a friend who has to buy a size 16 pants (to fit her hips and thighs) but then needs to take in the waist 4-5 inches!
Nef -- I'm the other way round -- big waist, no backside or hips, short legs where even Petites are too long.
hi jilli. This is such a neat theme for tomorrow! Guess what?? Tomorrow is Aunty's memorial, and she was a "machine operator" and sewed clothes for 30+ years in the clothing industry!
So I get Lands' End Sport knits (with pockets and full elastic waists) in 10-12 Petite and may not have to shorten them much, but they're still baggy in the rear.
Oh Nef, that's great that we can respect her memory that way.
