My son and family live in a security estate in SA, and in CapeTown, which is safer than many other cities, I'm told.
Well, jilli, at least the accom. would be cheap - if you can make it up our stairs!
i know several SA people and their families who have moved here so they don't have to live behind bars and barbed wire in their own homes... with security and guns.
it is a lifestyle choice for some, of course, but I would not want that for me and my children.
I do want to get to Melbourne at least, after seeing cousins in Canberra and mrp in the Sydney area -- and maybe other cousins in Frenchs Forest

i am having a blah day and wondering if this is worth it as no one gets jobs following university anymore
and there are SOOOO many teachers who have been out of techers college now for 10 years still just a substitute teacher
off top of my head i can name almost a dozen teachers who dont have a full time position
But a college education will give you more options and better pay. It is worth it. Hang in there.

I saw a sign on FB about the definition for mom being someone who does the work of 20 people -- for free. I Know I spoiled my kids; I think we all do - but I think that kids need a reality check too and it sounds like it's time for carlee to sit down and do that with her kids.
I can understand Carlee's frustration. Unfortunately, a degree does not guarantee a job and if she is feeling this overwhelmed with school and the time and money it's taking, something has to give. Or her sanity will.

It works for us most of the time (we have 2 bathrooms on the main floor and one (3/4 bath) in the basement. But every once in a while we all use the one we're closest too

Four mentally disabled adults were found to have been kept in a basement (one chained to the boiler) for an indeterminate amount of time. Three people have been arrested. It's a benefits scam that involves even more victims. Authorities are still investigating. Those arrested are locked up on Million $ plus bail.
Happened in Philadelphia. They were locked in. No lights. Malnourished. Living in their own filth. Unbelievable cruelty.

Why can't the cats get their own damn food
except I hate it when they do and bring the bodies into the house
well. I found one of ours on the stove this AM, licking the bacon grease out of a pan *SOMEONE* forgot to clean and put away! I don't want my cats feeding themselves!
O gross. Bacon fat. Then again my cat had Ligonberry cordial the otehr day
(and the same cat is a good mouser; we had a hole around the outside faucet that needed repair and the cat took care of the intruders

i was using my inheritance from my mother to redo my kitchen and bedroom and put on a deck and i have been without the back of my house since sometime in july
and jmc too. construction always costs twice as much and takes twice as much time as you thot but this is ridiculous

when we did renovations my biggest complaint was not having a usable toilet for a week!
look here is how i look at it (most of the time): it is a house. I am a lucky person that I own it, I can afford to remodel it, I can afford to go to school, and i am in generally good health
but sometimes i get discouraged and forget that it is just a house
