good morning everyone:)do not worry bout sleep overmuch mrp,i have severe apnea and average 4 hours at a time,the rest of it is 15 min here,30 min there before work,5 minutes while laying in the bottom of the tub during a shower..the boy is a great adaptor and can find bits of sleep here and there..on the escalator..in that power meeting with the boss..stopped at a traffic light...lol

Oh Welki, I agree with your decision. I have seen kids spoon fed all the way through college with absolutely no appreciation for that and no idea of how to manage their finances later.

my oldest started in an accelerated med school program - then switched majors to music education. graduated and decided she wanted to be a paramedic - went to school (because i used to be an emt back east, she received a 60% scholarship) - she JUST finished her nursing degree and is starting her new job tomorrow

I'm not a big believer that college/university degrees are worth what they used to be.
she's an amazing kid, crossy (they all are) - wouldn't be surprised if, in a couple of years, she ended up back in med school.

i see degrees all the time in app at my station,too many thought 5 years of school 50 grand and a sheepskin on the wall would equal a 6 figure job...not anymore
my thoughts are a little different, molly - i think any education is worthwhile, but i don't think that everyone needs to have a university degree in order to be successful

I agree Welki, education is worthwhile. But many times people go through the motions and just figure that piece of paper will get them somewhere. And it ends up a huge waste, kind of like what Cross said below.
i see so many angry young adults with expensive degrees;(
our second oldest, the only boy, is also an over-achiever - masters degrees in math and physics and almost ready to argue his doctoral thesis in (i think) astrophysics

as a matter of fact,in many case,a degree is a handicap as i will not have anyone hired that i take time to train,that is only using my place as a stop gap till the next6 thing comes along..i get too tired to train a new body every 3 months

it's funny how one misses each pet for different reasons.
she was, and so sweet and good -- never touched a bird and there were lots around here -- she just liked to sit on a lounge chair and watch them at the feeders
i mean, people tend to think cats are interchangeable, but they aren't at all. aw, sweet.

i still get teary about cats I had 30 years ago.

Hi Jill, wish we could say the same about cats in our neighbourhood, we lost another four birds last week and have had to resort to extra protection for the others but pity the wild birds they are being decimated
cats are were introduced here and like foxes, rabbits, toads, rats, camels, etc and all kinds of plants, its been a disaster
funny how cats are different - i have 3 - two older ones dont bother to hunt - younger one seems to not have enough "killer" in him - he eyes birds but has never caught one - then again I do shout at him if I catch him looking at birds
my cat absolutely loves to cuddle... every night he likes to sleep on my chest and bury his head in my neck. Considering he's overweight it's uncomfortable but adorable.

very hard to keep rabbits out of a garden - unlike deer
we have lovely flowering tibouchina trees here in Dbn brought in from South America I think and they suck up and store water - now in Africa there is not enough water to do that so a lot have been chopped down - again some person brought them here thinking they were pretty which they are but best left in S American rain forests
we used to live on rabbit when we first came out in the 50's, so now can't stand them, they were here in their millions till they statrted poisoning them but they are making a return now
well, fortunately, we have a friend who is very happy to receive one, now and then
never tried rabbit - keep thinking "bunny"
I can't imagine eating them - same reason I guess ursh
used to love a good rabbit stew...yuk
The neighbourhood cat who bit me brought a dead baby rabbit to my door as a "forgive me" present.
son was horrified when he had dinner at girlfriend's home and rabbit was served - fortunately, there was a choice

they're still together, about 25 or so years later
I made a blah "roast beef" Meal on Wheels delicious today by using Bisto brown sauce thinned with Barefoot Zinfandel.
That might work with rabbit stew?
