{{rbud}}
Good morning, ruby, rbud.
hi, ruby, vash, g'rose, and anyone else...
rose, are yu stil here?
gm, haz
ruby, I saw in the chat log yesterday that you had found Max's body.
yes, he drowned in the fishpond from which he has been drinking for several years
he is buried in the garden next to Cleo and Rufus
I haven't stold my husband, as he is too fragile to handle it
yes, ruby, so sad about max
oh, my! I missed that, my sympathies, ruby! - and you were right all along about him having passed on.
It gives you some kind of relief to know what happened, I hope?
thank you all
Will your husband not notice the grave?
yes, it is surely better than if he had been hit by a car and died alone in the bushes somewhere
no, he doesn't notice much and it is off to the side of the garden, under the pines
how is the new little fellow doing?
the handyman and I put pine needles and cones over it, so it isn't noticeable
the scary thing is that he drinks from the pond, too.
(not the handyman, Rufie)
maybe time to fence the pond?
yes, we are trying to figure out how as the ground around it is sloped (hence the low, drinkable spot)
I take it the pond is still stocked with fish?
they have not been very visible yet as it is still cold at night
but there are some huge ones in there
So you've got to figure out a way of keeping the pond with the fish off-limits to the pup without letting your husband know why.
exactly
and, for the moment, he can just barely reach it
call it a decorative whim, maybe?
whatever we do must be sturdy because he's a strong and stubborn little fellow
but then you'd need a pretty fence, lol
it is hard to imagine how Max fell in as he only put his front paws and big head over the edge to drink
ruby, would explaining that you were afraid that ruffino might fall in help. then present the netting as a fait accompli
Stage an incident in which the pup apparently falls in. Your husband doesn't need to know that the pup is wet because you've doused him with a watering can.
yes, I've already raaised that issue, before I knew about Max, but husband didn't even want to hear it
that's a funny idea haz, thanks for making me smile!
good one, haz
I'd love to know if it works!
And it would be in the pup's best interests as well because you would never forgive yourself if anything really did happen to him.
I tried to scare him away from the pone yesterday, but he stubbornly practically knocked me down to get at it!
It's going to be a case of tough love all round. Or could you pretend to fall in the pond as well?
well, there are those electric barriers you bury, but the dog has to have the matching collar, and I hear it doesn't work on some.
once they get past it once, they know it only lasts for a second
<-- can't swim either
Watering can and strategic bits of pondweed....
Rufie loves the pond weed, must smell delicious
aired
haha, tell him the dog caught a fish? ;p
no more chat for me! is there coffee in the PB?
Nobody saw it, ruby, we're too busy hatching schemes.
that is kind, haz!
I must take a break and get some chores done. I'll see you later, bye for now!
bye, haz
bye, Haz!
good morning :)
morning deb, back for my last 12 words
denied
oops. Is there any peanut butter in the pb?
help with the Y please?
Whoopee. Lickety is back. Have just noticed
yu 4/7
thank you ;)
morning all!
HI and good day
getting lots of red boxes, going to reboot. bb.
bbl, that is
lol, good morning and guess what my first word is?
... Snoopy had a happy one of them ...
indeed
crossy has a bacon one of them
... I'll bet that it really sizzles ...
it,s a cooker:)
hello again
... morning
cooker? sizzles? snoopy? what planet am I on?
... the top line
good morning friends
hi ruby, what's ruffie up to now?
big hug for trif, crossy, dose, etc.
Hi Trif, dose, crossy
{{bichon}} he's splendid
... g'day
and Max's sodden body was buried (quietly) yesterday afternoon, next to the two other dead pups
oh, ruby, how sad! you will see them all, over the rainbow bridge, honey
you found Max, how? He's gone?
the handyman found him at the bottom of the fishpond where he always had his late-night drink
he'd been doing it for years
can't imagine how he fell in
Alas. So sorry
... heart attack?
he was so big, though, that he only had his front paws and snout in the water; I can't imagine how he could have gone over
I'm hoping it was his heart
I am glad you found him, though. We had a BELOVED cat who did the "go off iinto the wood' thing at the end of his life, and it was torture, the not knowing
that's what I was afraid of; at least he was home
exactly. do you know the rainbow bridge poem, ruby ? it's pretty hokey, but I love the concept
I don't know the poem, but I knew what you meant. There is surely a special place in heaven for our lost animals
hang on, I will find the link for you....herin is wearing off on me, as you can see!
could you send it to my e-mail, trif? hokey would feel good right now
gm, everyone, clue for the lone E second row?
... the bird
er4 flying babblet
ty, dos.
ty, ruby
just sent it ruby....
thank you, I'll read it in a minute, when I give up on finding more words
((ruby)) ((trif)) and everyone else i missed who are just coming in:)
good morning everyone
I hope it helps, even a little
howdy riverdance
{{river}}
((ruby)) so sorry to hear about Max
thank you, river, it is very sad
I'm not telling my husband
Yes I know only too well - I lost my old girl this week
how old was she?
just shy of 14
that she had a long, good life, doesn't make it any easier for you I'm sure. We invest so much of our hearts into our animals
she is also buried in our back yard next to our first dog
I'm going to plant lilies of the valley on all 3 graves now
we sure do - they are like our children
but much less critical -- she said, smiling ruefully
see you later, folks {{river}}
Good morning / afternoon .... I can't stay but wanted to stop in and say hello
(((Ruby)))) my heart aches for you.
(((River))) and you as well
... oh well ... there's two thirds done ... must go something which others consider useful ... barkeep! a good day for everyone! ... ... bye for now ...
what a wonderful community babble is! I know I am stating the wicked obvious, but sometime it just needs saying
bye dos
bye dos
Hey Everybody!
Trif...do you still need pizzas from BJ's?
howdy car:)
hello again - got interrupted at work - I should go anyway before I get in trouble - have a great day everyone
Bye River!
Hi Crossy!
I ditto what trif said - bye folks
it is now time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!
yay!
:)
There are over 40 ships buried underneath the city blocks of the financial district of San Francisco. The abandoned gold rush ships and the wharves were buried when landfill was used to fill in Yerba Buena cove and create more land for the residents of San Francisco.
cool!
indeed;)
oh hey car! yes please on the zas!
K
did they crush them first, crossy? it seems to me like they would decompose and fall in....
bbl, time to send hubs off to work.
Bye Dawg!
could I have a hint for the y please?
a hut
fish me for nbt! thanks pet
right column grey - woot!
What is the second E? I have em 4/5
not only a hut, but a Mongolian tent

Hi Bichon!
i have seen some old pics trif, and strangly, they were not crushed, just the old decks stove in and filled
hi car, Trif, crossy
huh. I am sure they knew what they were doing.....
howdy bichon
hello bichon
we have recentlt come across old "landfill ships" near our fort york and it is the same
chilly morning here
very chilly here too, but I cannot BEAR to hear one more new englander b*tching about it. It's MARCH, it's supposed to be cold - duh!
TY! AMEN!!!!
sorry, that probably sounded way harsh - maybe I am just weary of bostonians and their whining
last week we had glorious spring weather
everyone whines
name that proper noun! youngest brady
I agree Trif, 80 degree weather is not normal for this time of year, it is supposed to be cold
us too, but that was a complete anomoly
remember,at that time, anyone near the water had a ship and when they had finished their usefull life they were hard to git rid of,here in collingwood, many were towed out to deep water and scuttled, but in areas where shore front land was scarce they were often just used as fill
We did too! And now everyone is pissed off it is cold again! Welcome to New England! If you don't like it, move!
I adore the word scuttle....
I never thought about that Crossy. I figured people would just have used them for fires. How interesting! Very good tidbit today!
the timbers were often coated with pitch, and not good for fires
We were talking with a young couple who are moving from Westchester [suburb of NYC] to Moscow, Idaho. We are so jealous
Oh. I guess that would be true.
I know they still sink old metal ships, to help create reefs
Idaho is GORGEOUS!!!!!
too much work to take the innards apart as well, when you have all that first growth forest right handy
I agree, but the cultural climate is so different than the NE
I need the left side E please?
em4 - sound medical
Yes! Perhaps that is what they are looking for. Definitely a change!
don't have it car, or the left r
em4 - prince of persia
From the left, dear....
ri 5/12 is the R
oh, duh,sorry - my bad
a seasonal minus 5c here today
ty car
phantom for me today is "numeric"
Yup..me too!
bien sur, ma soeur!
Blah, blah, blah, Peewee!
Another phantom: generic
did anyone get the 2nd column e?
not me
got it er 4/4
wheee nbs!
oh, I have that one...hold on
Yeah!
its' the bird, I think
er 4
why isn't icer a word. Someone at a bakery
Got it!
Or a mobster that kills.
OK. I have GOT to work now! Bye everyone! Have a great day! {{hugs}}
Trif...if you need anything else at BJ's...shoot me a text or email a list.
okay. i think I am good.
but thanks though! have fun!
oh, hey -- the pool blew away yesterday - that was fun!
:(
it really was funny - just went andgot it, and put it back. gave me a chance to rake the sand under it, which needed doing anyway. I am going to start filling it next week.
it really was funny - just went andgot it, and put it back. gave me a chance to rake the sand under it, which needed doing anyway. I am going to start filling it next week.

Whole Foods had a sale on mangoes, so we got 10 of them for $10 - I'll bring a few along :-)
sounds good:)
now..english muffins, texas toast or frsh bagels...
peri, en8 add the gerund to the end or en6.24
name that proper noun! adrian monk's wife
if i knew who he was,i might of had a chance guess his wife lol
I want crossy's breakfast!
bummer, my connection is still lousy
and Monk's wife is Trudy but half my posts aren't getting through
common over ruby, bring some preserves for the english muffies
ding ding ding!

(who is Monk, anyway?)
and thanks for the 8, crossy, now nbs and nbt
thats what i was asking ruby
is that discrimination against physicists, uusue?
TV detective, ruby and crossy, with OCD, played by Tony Shaloub. Very funny.
if you were in France, you could arrange a "manif" (demonstration
crossy used to like columbo
right now, they are running all the old Clint Eastwood movies on Fr TV
probably, ruby, but I will reboot my modem just in case. back soon.
the way he always ALMOST let the bad guy get away and you are yelling at the tv"COLUMBO! the bastard did it! get him" and just as he was about to leave he would turn back and give the patented columbo zinger and nail the bad buys but to the wall:))
bady guys butt*
i love columbo too
and jessica fletcher, although that show is so much sillier and more preposterous.
but my absolute FAVORITE is PSYCH!
which is silly in a whole different way. a good way.
that was murder she wrote as i disremember:0
yep, murder she wrote
i have been watching a lot of the reruns of it lately.
whats it mean when all your favorite sit coms and movies are now on history channel? lol
or deja view
that there's something really wrong with the history channel?
or tv land
yeah tvland is the best. deja view i don't know if we have in the US but that is a good name for a channel.
put on the regular channels you see some reality show of people banging each others fiancess on some island and they get eliminated if they do it wrong i suess lol
tadone!! finito
yaa for lbd!!
woot daw!
I am struggling to find words
well the USA network makes good shows, crossy.
hello?
they did monk and they do psych and a bunch of other good ones.
oh, there I am. Maybe the ether will quit eating my posts.
howdy suze
name that proper noun! current chairman of the republican national committee
i got a sudden urge to hunt down all the episodes of serlings twilight zone on dvd(on a tidbit note, did you know rods brother rob was an author?? i have his book "the left seat" in my book case and rob often helped write episodes for the zone
sorry hursh have no idea
Nope, ether is still chopping away. Guess I can only post reliably from my phone or office. Sigh.
i can see your posts sue
Oh well . Must get on with my day. Bbl.
it's ok, if people don't know, they don't know, no biggie
That's because I'm on my phone now, crossy
i avoid all politics as a standard rule right till they start pimping themselves for a upcoming election, then i read it all and vote for the one i think will do the least ammt of damage
You didn't see the ones where I was lamenting your absence - must go get my own breakfast :)
all i can say is if the supreme court overturns the health care reform i am going to have to seriously urge my husband to look at canada and europe when he's on the job market in 2 years.
because that will lead me to conclude that the US government is so screwed up that it will never again do anything useful.
crossy loves his prvincial health care
now it is not perfect hurshy, but no one loses their home if they break a hip..everyone pays at tax time and everyone get health care..period
we did get one useful thing recently. a judge ordered the FDA to make rules to get antibiotics out of livestock feed.
so you want to eat a sick cow?
i added up all my cancer med bills from 5 years ago, without our health care i would of had to spend 200,000 dollars all told
they don't give antibiotics to SICK animals, they mix it in with the feed and give it to all animals. result: overuse leads to superbugs that we get sick on and antibiotics are not effective to treat.
do not want to eat one that gives me tits cause of growth hormones,or comprimises my immune system cause it is jammed full of antibiotics
hmmm we feed cattle...
i buy my beef right from the farm, safer that way
yes you are right
Costco has good quality meat. I buy it all there.
that is where we get ours... our own
remove the middle man and support your farmer

yes, factory farming is the most horrid thing ever. the humane society does continue to make steps of progress in that though. it is very impressive how they work with big corps like walmart and mcdonalds to get them to require new standards from their suppliers.
yes they work hard at it now,was horrid in the past
we still have a long way to go.
yup
so, i have en8, what do the other 8's start with?

morning
howdy viajes
The problem with doing the puzzle at midnight is that the next morning I forget everything keep trying to put in words I've already put in
good news is you have a head start on it
i rarely attend the flip.too depressing watching vollymomdee and gremlinn polish it off in 15 minutes:)
haha. I don't watch the chat; I just get what I can and then go to bed
CE 6/27s?
got 1
I'm with you crossy about the flip. At 1 AM I couldn't think that fast
it is quite amazing to watch though..no hints just stats are flying
Aren't the stats clues?
It's been a feeding frenzy seeing who would put up a list first!
yes, but they go so fast. They're onto another one and you're still trying to get the grey cells moving
they are but not lie we clue then here sometimes with descriptives
i often clue with descriptives here, but never at the flip
You really haven't been here. It's rediculous!
like today dj4..i clued it as the fella in the lamp..but never at the flip jus dj4/10
And they've developed there own language.
their
what time does lickety come on? I'm just curious... I have no idea how lickety works
It could come right away at the flip or any time after viajes
lickety run on aussie time
I find it totally depressing and love it when I occasionally can pull a biggy right off the bat!
yeah, that's why I don't watch the chat box at midnight; I just focus on the puzzle and then I chat with you guys the next morning :D
there's a five letter word in this puzzle that I got right away somehow... :P
This gentleman in Australia developed a computer program that appears either on a separate page where you can paste in your words in a bulk add or to the left of the Babble Expert page
I think she's been doing it about 2-3am our time. It's never up before I give up.
1 AM here is 1 PM there
lol viajes, there are 56 five letter words,i am sure you will find a few
so it's just a person who sets it up?
yes, Lickety used to do it, but now his wife does it when she has time
yeah crossy but the da5/14 is really hidden in this one
yup
"just" a person???
lol@ JUST
I mean just one person, and not affiliated with Babble itself
Need food bb in a while
ahh,yes,no babble affiliation
just one person I meant!!!! not like a game company or something
I don't think MrsP is affiliated at all with Babble. It's Dr.God? No, yes?
so is Babble "just" a person too?
... Correct ... Dr. god is in Chicago ... MrP is or was in Perth Australia (I think)
babble is a software program created by our esteemed DR_god
Babble is Dr.God; Lickety is 100% separate
I'm not too sure of the history and set up of Babble
Does the grid get chosen automatically every day by computer or does Dr. G have to start it?
ah, Chicago... I knew it was central time, since the flip happens at my midnight
i am sure dr g worked alone and did not need the crew from bethesda to help:))
bethesda crossy?
sorry bichon, bethesda is a very large game design company
okay, not too up on these things
just like EA games
it is automatic.
there is even an indie game design company called "running with scissors" lol
Beside the Times crossword puzzle, I only have time for Babble.
bbl time for lunch
crossy just finished brunch..:)
the ri** of the anchient mariner
hopefully that wasn't what you had for brunch, crossy!

next will be the seed infused shotgun shell.just open the kitchen window, aim at your flower bed and fire off a few rounds
:)
ok,not god to be talking at myself like this, power nap time for crossy bbl...poink
thanks for the explanation of how babble is set up and works....never understood the history. Now I finally get it
Or you could plant perrenials and have the same ones every year with no real work involved.
Have you seen ads for the new paint that will put seeds on any paintable surface (like a chia pet)?
hee, hee, a chia flower bed now that there's funny!
Think of painting the whole house!

duh. i didnt see it at first! thx!

... or struggle on
thnx dose

dos - I need an answer from you. Guy on one of the bords has just claimed that Canada will not buy US chickens. Is this tru?
dos - I need an answer from you. Guy on one of the bords has just claimed that Canada will not buy US chickens. Is this tru?
Sorry cmp burped
... Don't know ... will look it up ... there are a number of marketing boards ... and there is likely one for chickens and eggs and they may have put something through
ty
... Yeah ... there are a number of farmer's organizations ... typically one in each province ... names like egg marketing board or egg producers association ... as I recall the situation from a long time ago ... there was a surplus particularly in Ontario and they were limiting farmers licenses to produce eggs and chickens and I'll bet the this contributed to making it next to impossible to sell American eggs or chickens in some provinces ... likely Ontario and Quebec which are the largest
... the American farmers ... which likely means large American food corporations ... are unable to get a license to sell in various provinces ... ... at least that's what I'll bet
That should be good enough for my purpose which is basically shutting up a loudmouth who is trying to scare people into agreeing to something stupid.
If you look up Pink Slime you'll get the idea. We don't want it...he thinks it's a great idea. Just a troublemaker.
... food shipments across the boarder is a really complicated and highly politicized process ... be careful ... there are a lot of really angry people on both sides of the boarder
not a problem. I just like to know the truth when someone makes a blanket statement with no backup!
bbl
... look at the Mad Cow fiasco ... it destroyed the beef industry in Alberta and a lot of small farmers went under ... not the large corporations ... because one cow from a Canadian herd was found with Mad Cow disease ... ... okay but the food that gave it the disease came from the states and was sold on the open market down there ... but they couldn't find any American cows with Mad Cow disease ... ... gimme a break ... oh well
I think the Canadians should come get their Gosh Darn Geese and eat those and leave our chickens to us! LMAO
good morning/afternoon/evening everyone
... why are they Canadian? ... they spend half the year in Florida, Georgia and Alabama ... ... of course they're a traffic hazard up here .... ... there's a flock of a couple hundred that nests around Whitby harbour ... and they love to get up and march across the main drag to the pond on the other side of the road ... thus stopping traffic for ten or fifteen minutes ... ... you can keep them down south for all I care
prin e
hah hah - or, give us the license to shoot them
hello everyone
Can someone tell me who it was that had to put down their rescue dog that they didn't have for very long?
My daughter is a teacher and she said one of her first graders wasn't there today because they had to put down their dog yesterday that was a rescue and they hadn't had it very long.
Strange coincidence.
... when i was a kid ... they were an endangered species ... they put three nesting pairs on Toronto Island in an effort to reintroduce them to the area ... ... I believe there are one hundred thousand living around Toronto now ... ... they keep talking about thinning the heard and feeding them to the homeless at Christmas ... ...

de 8/55 ... to undo the a6
ty. got it.

waht is it about the letter C that makes it so tough to find words?
mung not in dict? arent they beans? mung beans?
other than the fact that "the moon sometimes looks like a C...."

poll: do you like to meet famous people, given the opportunity, even if you don't really like them? or would you only take the opportunity if you did like them?
well, I think I would have to find them interesting in some way (other than just being "famous"), hurshy
well let's say it's a former long-time senator. and like most such, engaged in cronyism and things like that.
would you have time to talk to him/her, or just shake hands?
potentially to talk.
at a reception.
a small reception.
well, that could be interesting - I'd be inclined to pick a topic that I'm interested in, and one which they might have some experience, and ask what they thought about it
1 in favor. i guess maybe there aren't enough people around for a poll...
woot! i got all the R's!
yay hurshy!
the free food alone is enough of a reason for me.
phantom: murder
Free food is always a good reason.
phantom and murder in the same grid. Sounds like a plot

Is that word in common usge in the US - I have never heard of it

i think 'mudge' should be a word. definition contest open.
opera os for smart phone and tablet rocks!!!
hi crossy
howdy welki:-)
opera browser*
and you would not think so, but the browser choice makes a massive difference on how things like babble are displayed on mobile devices
mmm, perhaps it a bad sign when you purchace devices totallt on it, babble playability:-D
i've never heard of opera
google opera mini fot tablet or smart phone,it is freeware
i am running it on this tablet. seems to also compress data during streaming so you save on data use
how do you know all this stuff crossy
i love to research stuff thasaves money and enhances my computer enjoyment
I only play Babble in Opera on my PC, too, I love it. I only switched to Chrome for FB games because Opera has some flash limitations. Not many, fine for small point-and-click games (my first loves).
but I have no mobile devices for internet access and probably won't. I don't even have a camera on my cellphone, just want basic call and answer. Have a computer and a camera, don't need to take them with me everywhere. :)
guess I'm an old fogey, lol!
I will join you in Fogeyville Rbud. I don't need a computer with me everywhere either.
I don't anticipate evr wanting a Kindle or anything like that, either, I like books. Always worked for me. But what can I say, I'm a library director, haha! :)
back. just got done hanging laundry on the clothes line.. cheaper than laundromat
*ever - darn sticky keys
I have a Kindle and all I do is play Scrabble on it, in places where I have to wait. I prefer "real" books.
my old lady neighbors came out and helped me lol
And the only reason I have a Kindle is because my kids gave it to me. : ) Love clothes dried on the line Cos.
awww, cos is domestic! did the neighbors give you pointers? I have a clothesline, too, like to use it in good weather, just because.
lol yes they did.. then they took over and told me to sit down and watch
i think they enjoyed it!
rofl!!!
I never wanted a cell phone either. Will I end up with a Kindle years from now because it's dominant?
<-- Wishes she had kind, old lady neighbors.
i dont have a car. one of the neighbors let me use hers whenever i want. i really lucked out with my neighbors.
no neighbors here, unless you count the ones a block away across the street. we like it!
Would I have disdained television, or seen it for the wondrous invention that it is?
Consider yourself blessed Cos. Nice neighbors are hard to come by.
but I do have a lovely old-fashioned clothespin bag that hangs on my line.
Did I want my whole life to be on a laptop?
they gave me a spare clothesline today to keep so it was nice
ge7 please?
I hear ya, Kap. I only got my cell in the first place back in '99 when I drove a taxi, it was just too handy. still have the same number.
authentic, cos
Cos, you bring out the "Mom" in all of us. : )
ooh its on the tip of my fingers hmmm
thanks got it
you'll have to go out and hang clothes often, then, cos, or they'll be dissapointed.
lol molly i guess thats good? :)
yes i plan to do that rbud... it was just cute how they saw me hanging clothes and both cameout of their apartments and took voer
something they're experts at, lol! :)
Hope you Babblers don't mind me chatting about what has been going on with my life as of late.
The blossoms in Arboretum bloomed earlier than any year on memory, and I read that the hard frost will put stress on the trees, making them have to bloom twice this season. Which would be weird to see.
not at all blue
not at all blueheron, vent yer spleen:)
No, people chat here all the time
thank-you. I cannot cry anymore...it wrecks my day.
Also, the bees came are here too early, and the hard frost may kill many.
What is going on?
Aw Blue, what's going on?
lol molly the mrs has an ebook reader and it is her REAL book before the advent of ebook readers, she was reduced to ten years of being unable to read due to a degenerative eye disease.i thank go every day for ereaders.plus in my case i have 6 bookshelves of REAL books and the house can stand no more, this way with my ebook reader,i can continue to enlarge my library without swapping houses every 3 year :)
you have a good point there, crossy. I might feel differently in your shoes.
I never used to think that books were a thing you could have too much of, but the paradigm is shifting.
with the readers i can customize the font size
there is no such ting as too many books,i can fit 10,000 on my ereader:))))
We were always taught in school that books required care and should never be mistreated
10,0000 books will allow me a min of 2 per week..if i live that long:))
It was always sort of a crime t do bad things to books, like hurt the spines or dog-ear the pages- remember that?
never kaplan,i "treat" all my new hardcovers before first read
Blue, are you still there? Go ahead and talk if you need to.
Now they're things that get thrown in the Goodwill bin
drives me mental when the mrs bends a softcover back on its own spine
molly... eileen's crush on smash looks kind of like anjelica huston's deceased husband i thought that was interesting. and yes blue go on
Yeah, Blue, didn't mean to talk over you.
my brother and his wife have been living with us for the last 8 months. I had a couple of meltdowns because I felt we needed space. This week my brother who is my closest relative tool a fall in our shower and broke his ankle and is in an acute rehab center until he comes home. I just feel like hell for asking them to move back downstairs. I'm just sad, that's all.
i think the bees will be ok, kap. a friend in Minnesota has at least one hive complex going. They can take the cold for a relatively short period of time.
Do you remember having a Library Teacher in elementary school
kap: i worked in a school 3 years ago and there was a library teacher there.
Blue, be easy with yourself. It was very nice of you to take in family and that is a hard thing to accommodate.
lol,i spent my lunches in the library in elementary school cap
Blue- that is awful
blue: im very sorry to hear ur going thru a hard time. family is always important but space is needed too ur a good person
Did you ever see "The Man Who came to Dinner?" Maybe you could watch it for comic relief.
i am sorry to hear about your troubles blue:) having family stay even for a short term is always disruptive
they must honor your need for space as well
and 8 months is a very long streach
thanks everyone:)
aw, blue. that is too bad, but i don't see how you could have really anticipated such an event.
It's a Moss Hart script about a character based on Alexander Woollcott who stays with a family in the midwest, breaks his leg and turns their household into a living hell. It's a comedy.
8 months, even my smile would be wearing thin if my brother and his wife and kids were crashing with me
i know that play well. blue should read it.
It's a fun movie.
Cos, I can only find older pictures of Robert Graham and they don't look anything like Thorsten Kaye.
Now it will be a much longer stretch, we had a friend come over today to build a ramp into our home for Lee to get into.
and downstairs will be safer for his recovery i am sure
well kinda... same built... both have same hair (robert was darker)
I have a breakdown if relatives stay here longer than two nights.
it all sounds exhausting, blue.
blue: my brother in law lived with us for a year so i can relate kind of but he didnt have a spouse
You have done your duty.
if there is a totally seperate living area or apt downstaris then thats where they should be
set the rules early and all must abide by them or you will go mental
Just take it one step at a time Blue. And don't beat yourself up for getting exasperated. It's a natural thing to do when your space is crowded.
i had my father with me for 6 months and can relate
I wonder why the Library teachers were always named Mrs. Fine, every one of them. I had three library teachers with that name.
don't get me wrong everyone, I grew up taking care of my brother..due to life circumstances..I was his second and perhaps only Mom.
The Man Who Came For Dinner was made into a movie? who knew...
Is it because of the book charge when you return it late? Seriously, this is true.
my nutball sister has stayed with us on several occasions, and has driven us all crazy every time. Has had to be practically kicked out every time, after far too long a stay, and is now hinting around about wanting to do it again. we are ready to scream.
It's a great movie, with Monty Woolley, Bette Davis and Jimmy Durante.
then say no.have to be tough with family sometimes are bud
Bette Davis plays Sheridan Whiteside's secretary.
rbud*
I usually end up contemplating poisening the soup.
Blue, sometimes it's hard to feel like you are always the "caretaker". Nothing wrong with that.
I even have to hide from her on facebook. she's a stalker personality, and goes on for hours about boring, stupid pointless BS constantly. plus tries to convert us to Muslim, which she pretends to be, but really knows very little about.
there is a reason portable "granny flats" sell like crazy at the motor home places...
Definitely try arsenic. Works wonders.
On her, not you.
;D
tell her you are into devil worship rbud and need a sacrifice and to come on over
Oh Rbud. I have such low tolerance for those people who "pretend to be". Bless you.
and a bit of old lace
lol!!! good idea!
Arsenic and Old Lace kap?
You could put a snake in her bed.
I'm just trying to be constructive.
oh, she wears the clothes, covers her hair, lectures me about mine showing... it's beyond ridiculous.
whenever the jehova witness are coming up the drive(you can always tell as they all dress like twins) i pour out a tray of vodka shooters, put them on the coffee table and fire up a porno before answering the door..they stay exactly 30 seconds:)
What did she convert from?
has married multiple Egyptians and been treeated badly every time, and still chases after more of them. obsessed.
I found that people who have very little of their own identity tend to latch onto the identities of others.
Multiple Egyptians? You mean like octuplets, or Siamese?
divorce like and egyptian..lalala...nope does not work
she was a basic Christian before, I suppose but really nothing.
Molly- hence Yetta.
rofl kap
I mean several, one after the other, lol!
I have this image of Egyptian octuplets at the altar.
Oh, like serial Egyptians, you mean.
that might be her next goal, wouldn't surprise me at all.
maybe she should relocate to Egypt
every family has to have at least one nutty member (your brother is not one, blue). or a few.
we drove across a few states together some years ago, had to stop at every Muslim temple we could find, sigh...
I wonder who the nutty person in MY family is?
Mab, I would like to have a word with whoever made that rule. : )
all my family is nuts(well except me of course) and my brother is ok as he is in las vega and thousands of miles away
lol, Kap!
hmm.... i wonder, kap...
At least I don't marry multiple Egyptians.
ne
Although Omar Sharif isn't bad.
last time she went to Egypt they locked her up in a mental hospital, so she doesn't feel they "get" her, either.
ne to you too, phan.
Hi there, Kap.
my neighbor has a fruitcake of a sister...talking to her is just nuts...she changes the subject every five words or so
i am of a belief, that once all family members get over the age of 19 and have a job, they should move at least 1000 miles away from any other family member...none of theis everyone loves raymond stuff;0
yay, crossy, please tell our two kids that, would you?
hi all
first ce5 pls
Families are a precursor to madness.
I have to go watch Jeopardy.
oh dear, I have no ce's, better get with it...
you are mean crossy.... they are just bearing witness to their beliefs. I am NOT Jehovah witness, but have found them to be kind people. I have one handicapped young fellow who asks to come to visit me because I am receptive. His name is Kaleb and he's been through hell in his life....His mom says this has given him a purpose in life..... just sayin'
Love Jeopardy kap
oh, not yet. maybe I'll take a shower.
ce + Ave Ma***
I just tell those who come to our door that I already have a religion, thanks but no thanks. seems to work.
ty Molly,
rbud,i have a friend,he is now 50-55 years old.has 3 kids all 20-27 now, they all got married, they all got girl friend pregnant, they all moved back home.he and his wife stood this for one year, then pulled the eldest son aside and sold him the home for 1 dollar and THE PARENTS moved out!
I say the same thing, bud.
exactly, rbud and most of them respect that
lol
I agree Diane and Rbud. I may not share beliefs with someone, but I try to be kind to them when they come to my door or approach me on the street.
they now have a nice little place on vancouver island..800 sq feet so not kids can move in
don't think we haven't considered running away from home, crossy, we certainly have! :)
I think family vacations are hell.
and they are 2400 miles away from all the kids..perfect
I think crossy was creating a fictitious scenario .... right, crossy ??
it is real diane
the parents moved out
left the house to the three kids and the wives and babbies
my hubby answered the door in his boxers and invited the Witnesses in for a discussion, they declined and haven't been back.
I meant what you do when the Jehovah Witnesses come up your sidewalk..... I do believe the last story.
oh,no,the porno part is real, have some old vcr tape of it from the 80,s and fired up whats behind the green door
there's an old piano, and they play it hot behind the green door....... la la la la
lol
rofl!!! you so bad, crossy!
my era

One of the many reasons I love Diane is that she is not afraid to voice her opinions on things. : )

spooky...
is it just me or is there an unusual number of made-up words in this grid?
That is an every day occurrence here.
true... but today seems to be more than usual
or maybe it's just that there are more 6- and 7-letter non-words so they are harder to monkey

Hello viajes. It's a net name I've had for a very long time.
oops, I meant to say, ur 5/14 please?
Hi Peri, Molly et al.

oh... I'm slow today. I blame the wine :D
in5/10 pls
viajes - da5.14 spells itself across the top line of the grid. *sings* - 'I'll have the last da5.14 with you.'.
Hi Welki.

I know Jacula. I am just being silly. :D
peri - in5/10 - no moving.
<--Thinks Via was joking about the da5/14

y/w peri.
how about in5/12? (for real)
bad bad news today. his tumor has grown large and so surgery must be done asap. we are all crushed. must do surgery that is far more risky than we thought before. now entire prognosis is much much worse. we are crushed. news came at 6 pm. terrible news. cant do partial surgery we hoped to do. must do all. very risky and very bad.
Oh no! Sorry mkg.
i am sure they wont update caring bridge for a while as both my daughter and her husband are so crushed by t his horrible news.
sorry to hear that mkg
in + ***p is what a leaky faucet does
Sorry, viajes, we've not met before. You can get asked to clue the simplest of words in this game. But it's only simple if you can see it or you know it.
ty for asking welki.
who is zakkai, mkg?
Mkg, that little guy of yours is still in my prayers.
we need health. we all focus on money and on acquiring a nice life style and poof, destroyed with disease of a child. i have no desire to do anything anymore.
np Jacula :D It is true. One man's obvious is another man's... something something... too much wine.
Fingers crossed for you all, mkg.
And thank you for the clue Jacula
i am so sorry to hear that, mkg - what a horrible shock. i thought of you this past weekend
your child, grandchild?
LOL. viajes. You're welcome.
hugs to you mkg. I did not know it was a child; that is even more sad.
ty all for the prayers. go to caringbridge.org/visit/zakkai to see updates. ty all. we now must see which surgeons can switch gears and do this terribly risky surgery. must get it all out of the spine!!!!!!!!!!!

i am so devastated that i have cried all evening and must snap out of it so doing grid.
peri - the poor baby has a tumour that has spread and twisted like ivy around his organs and spine. It's going to be a delicate operation to remove it.

FW,going to caring bridge
mkg...you must never lose hope...miracles happen every day...benign is a good thing...(((hugs)))...my husband has terminal lung cancer with mets to liver and SIADH all very very grim but we live every day the best we can and pray a miracle is discovered...I know how hard living with a horrid disease can be but positive thinking and attitude can make a difference prayers to you and those you love...
(((mkg)))
I'm with MPittore on the positive thinking, hard though it may be to do.xxx
do go to caringbridge and put in your e mail and password and click to get updates. caringbridge.org/visit/zakkai. and write in the guest book as they look at it and love seeing names they dont know! and send donations if you can to chai lifeline or their synagogue that is providing food and lots of help to them, as is chai lifeline. they provide social workers for the siblings as well. it is all so difficult.
ty mpittore. we dont lose hope but it is hard when the news is bad.
I believe there is as much power in positive thought as there is in prayer. I'm sending both out for your wee one Mkg.
mpittore, i live near you. i see you are in SS md. wow. i live in potomac on edge of rockville. we must meet.
ty molly and all of you. ty welki.
ty jacula.
going to do supper dishes now.
mkg you must be strong for your daughter...I do my crying in the shower so my husband won't know...we got devastaing news on 3/14 as cancer is back now on second line chemo...small cell lung extensive with liver mets and SIADH for a man over 60 hits all the worse things that can be but I pray he has quality and without pain and hope for anything positive for him and I spend time in good thoughts and love...there is no time to think why him...that is unproductive...I think thank god for him in my life for whatever time we have...think of the joy that baby has brought to so many...
<---Makes room on shoulder for MPitt to have a cry anytime she wants.
Hello all! Does anyone have a clue for the ji 6/39 word yet
ji6 sounds like late singer Houston's first name
