hello molly
stupid birds and a sun up too soon...i've been awake since before 6
Hi Ruby
Stupid birds? : (
days are getting very long here, too
so far north
hi molls... {hugs}
when they are yippy outside ur window before 6 am...stupid birds
once i have had my coffee..not so stupid
Birds in the early morning are just fine with me. Yippy dogs are another matter entirely.
( by the end of june..sunset here is 10 pm and sunrise is about 5 am..birds start before sunrise)
( we arent used to sleeping with our windows open yet molls...)
it's like that here, carlee
I was very surprised at first, never noticed anything that dramatic in Miami or even NY
The really amazing thing about birds is that they all hush, right before the sun comes up.
will be more so for crossie just 3 hours north of me
we have mostly squawkers, few singers
just a homely merle who sings arias in the evening
My husband, aka The Grumpy Canadian, used to feel the same way about birds outside the bedroom window, when he was still in bed.
i am still in bed..maybe he and I are related
Ruby, that sounds like a country/western song. A homely merle who sings arias in the evening : )
there are two, but only one of them has such wonderful songs
uh oh, heading for the PB
I'll make breakfast, or lunch, or whatever meal you're on now.
something sweet, plz
Perfect, sweets are good any time of day. Cinnamon rolls?
oh yes!
with lots of butter
birds are fine, seagull screeching ofver the next door neighbours broken open garbage is not.would think he has never heard of garbage cans

we live on the shores of a large body of water..use garbage cans:(

my best friends daughter..poor child...when she really gets laughing...sounds like a seagull...as soon as that happens..i loose it and laugh so hard i cry
and not as high as our house
we call the s**T hawks
we are only on a lake too ruby
poor thing! lol
well..i was being polite..landfill chickens works too
that's like what people call pidgeons
i know ruby...but OMG... i just have to think of her laugh and i start to chuckle...when i am around her and it happens I start laughing so hard i cry...then she laughs harder at me...is a viscious circle
pgeons?? forgetting my English....

I could never learn Welsh. Words without vowels hurt my brain.
i find welsh very interesting but as you say, looks tough to learn
my dad and mum are both welsh of origin, when he was younger my da would slip into welsh when he had a drink or 2 in him,but i never paid much attention to it
and we came over in 66 but he was the black sheep of the family and never talked about the u.k at all unless you dragged it out of him
hehe, reminded me,he could do a scotsman voice perfectly,he would get the brogue going then go on about haggis, pet dimes and lucky tin can collections
yaa a nice je 7/52
sounds like the he 7/36 but double up on the second e

top of the pencil and variations
not getting your clue, crossy, and gm car
Did you all talk a bit?
ah, thanks! yes. secondo especially.
REALLY!??!?!
so -- here's MY tidbit of the day (with a tip of the hat to crossy....) About a month or two ago I took my mother out for a meal, and our server was EXCELLENT, totally patient and respectful of my mother, and was just all around perfect. So, I wrote a letter to the restaurant manager, and also sent an email to corporate, telling them how great she was. Took mom out for dinner last night to the same place, and asked if same server was on, and could we sit at her table. Let me tell you, they were FALLING over themselves to make sure we had a nice meal. The MANAGER came over to shake my hand and tell me how much it my feedback meant to them. Not only did our server get a HUGE commendation from corporate, but so did the manager, and Irene, the server, took me aside to thank me and say how inspired she was, and that it rarely happened that people took the time to thank servers when they are excellent, and she was encouraged. People really don't do that kind of thing enough, and I am here to tell you - they should.
Amen! Well done!!!!!!
Trif that is lovely :)
I really was only thanking her for being excellent. paying it forward, if you will. and it really does come back to you tenfold. Seriously, its likes we were celebrities in there - the other waitresses were all peeking at us, it wsa almost funny
I once phone a company to say how well someone had done when serving me (can't remember what it was now) but the company didn't have anywhere to put me through to. In the end I went to complaints and they said how very rare it was for someone to bother!
bus...brb
hooray katie! what does it say that they did not have a praise department, but only complaints? how sad is that?
I know a sad reflection of how we respond to service!
Can I just ask, we are coming to the states and are a little confused by tipping - is it 15% for drinks and food and what about people in the hotel and taxis?
very nice story trif.and how well do i know it.i have been in the service industry for 30 year, and you are often treated less than human, more like an atomaton whose sole purpose is to serve food,or pump gas or sling coffee or burgers so good feed back is a rare thig.if you do a good job they do not see you at all,if you do a bad job or have a bad they, they are phoning head office to have you keelhauled,so that is a nice refreshing story:)
hmmm - car isthe best person to ask. I usually only tip 15% if the service was just okay, but 20% is becoming the standard I think. Taxis are 10 to 15% I think, and I have no idea what to tip people in hotels, as I am cheap and usually port my own stuff around
i just finished up 30 years of running service stations
selling a product to people that they hate having to buy lol
hang on - i am so out of the loop - have you retired crossy?
semi-retired trif
which parts of you have you retired? ar ar ar
i had my first station at 18,so time flies
lol, everything that involves, lifting, bending over or usage of the knees lol
keep some parts for Elegant! women have NEEDS you know!
not to worry:))
okay, time's up for me, unfortunately. duty calls. I am subbing for the OM again this afternoon, so I will be PAID to play babble around 1 est. hoorah!
god bless the little blue pill...but i have a bit of a problem..says on the pack "up to 24 hours"..errmmm, what do i do with the other 23 hours and 50 minutes???? lol!
sweet JESUS crossy!
hehe,crossy is bad
bet that launched coffee over a few keyboards
I would say so!
hahahaha! okay, seriously, I am gonna be late! but will be laughing all the way to work - thank you!
np:))
tell care I said bye and I will see her later when I pick up tertiare, okay? thanks! blessings to all
towel rack i suppose....
thanks for the help trif - double glazing salesman at the door!!
Bye Trif!
Hi Kaplan!
ok,crossy will behave now..sort of..
Hi Katie! About tipping....If the service is good in a restaurant, I tip 20%...but I do that on the TOTAL of the bill. Some people don't tip on the tax, but I do. If the service is poor....15% flat. From what I hear, for porters and bellhops, it is $2.00 per bag. Taxis are 10-15% as Trif mentioned. Maid service at a hotel depends on your stay and how much you mess up the room. I think average is between $3-5 per day. Remember though, these are service positions and they are generally paid a lot lower than average because they get tips. That being said, they should always provide excellent, knowledgable and friendly service. If not, it reflets in their tips.
And for the record...in my training for Hotel / Restaurant Management, I have done every one of these jobs...except the cab driver....although I do take a lot of people on airport runs!
I think because of that, I tend to be more generous with tipping.
I also think because of that I tend to expect more as I know what it takes to do the job.
Dawg...did you ever get the J?
OMG! I got the 9!!!!!
yaaa!
because of my work history,i also am more patient and tip more when it is warranted
See! But does it annoy you when you find someone doing the job half-assed?
it drives me nuts
Thank you so much car, the tax question was my biggest confusion.I took have done bar and waitress work so have always tipped well, just our idea of tipping well and yours is not the same lol
though tips serving fuel are few and far between,we were out in blistering heat and numbing cold, but it is a product people hate to buy..were we so different from the pretty waitress who brings your fish and chips and a beer?..always irked us
if i had to hazard a guess,it would most likly be 100 cars to 1 tip
I totally agree with you Crossy. While full-service stations are very rare these days, I appreciate it when someone comes out in the weather, either hot or cold, to wait on me and fill up the car. They deserve a tip!
we were going to get the shuttle from the airport but decided to get a cab instead so suddenly the question of taxi driver tips became more urgent
@ 200-400 cars a day,and yes car we were a dying breed as a full serve
I am only guessing here, but I think that the average consumer may feel that the gas prices are so high, so the attendants must be making a lot of money.
Ok Katie, then you would tip the driver $2 per bag and something additional for driving.
we don't have full service stations here and haven't had since I started driving (26 years ago). We are moving to no service at all stations where you pay by card and there is no person on site
we do not work for big oil or the refinery..many gas jockeys are paind min wage, lol the operators sometimes ended up with less once all the bills were paid
I hate progress.
I just don't think people realize that Crossy.
thanks car - it is very British to get so stressed out about tipping incorrectly ;)
know what i was making on fuel at the end????
I must have been British in a past life then! LOL!
four cents a litre...thats it 4
I am afraid to ask Crossy.....
Oh my god! That is horrible.
gosh that is so low
refinery/head office got the rest
I need clues for the J's please.
self serves get 1-2 cents per lit
I haven't got any yet car
you try to break even on the gas and make money in the store...untill they came out with credit card pumps that is
i will not miss it
good morning my dear friends
It is mainly our supermarkets that have them crossy and they only want you to go to their station so you will shop in their store. Adsa/Walmart are the ones that started it and are fully pay by card but now most of them have at least 25% of pumps as pay by card
Hi Mom!
morning Mom
hello ((Car)) and Katie
Mom is back! Yay!
katie box store/gas combos were our nemisis, they could sell fuel at cost and make it up in the store
Hello Molly

263 steve
Good morning, all. Multi-tasking while eating my oatmeal w/blueberries & walnuts.
Think I'll give this away for tonight - Bye everyone
Could I get a clue for the last de5/14, please?
howdy judi..healthy breakfast indeed!
why is "reich" not a word? I know---enable, blah blah blah
enable is wounderous
Nothing like a good bowl of mush to start the day.
as is my spelling:(
Or one who paddles a small boat- the small boat is here, as is the past tense. Honestly.
ugh@ always had a vat of mush burbling on the back burner of the stove as a kid,you just cut a slice of it and grab a knife and fork...no wonder i do crossy breakfasts now:0
have to scoot off here and get some things done around here. (((Hugs))) to all of you
I was just lamenting that same thing, Kap. I think we should file a formal protest with the word police.
tc ((mom))
((Crossy)) you as well
i blame oatmeal, cream of wheat and puffed rice for the way i am today
I was frustrated about the paddler one as well
*bashes oa4 on water in frustration*
i think today when i get back from getting some supplies breakfast shall be over easy eggs, hash browns all fried crispy with green pepper and diced valencia onion and mushrooms, some of those wonderful maple and brown sugar breakfast sausages, crunchy toasted english muffins with strawbeyy jam or apple jelly and a tall glass of ice cold orange juice to wash it down
it's a miracle - no bacon
Well, that beats the shit out of oatmeal.
lol judi
lol, thought sausages and bacon would be a bit much
phantom: cherries
well..could wrap the sausages in bacon.....
are there any ch's?
pigs in blankets - yeah
:)
eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper:)
love pigs in blankets!
lol,i best put on extra
i am ok for the eggs though, bought a flat of dbble yolk browns from the farm yesterday:))
i love it when they get new layers:))
so... nobody knows if there are ch's?
no ch words
thank you ztink
what about cL?
can anyone help with me5/12?
take me4 and make it more so
Don't have it yet, medusa.
just got it
thanks. hurshy
yw
clues for any 8s or 9?
I only have the je8/70. Monkied it. Not sure how to clue it.
oh good, i'm having trouble with j's too
Je8: "Nutty Professor" Je*-- Lewis + tall grasses.
are you attempting it or should i morewords it?
oh you did it!
thanks
Actually, you'll get a 6, 2x7 and the 8 out of that. Just go crazy with the e's and r's.
hmm
thanks that's j's done!
None of the j's make any sense. Go figure.
good afternoon, Babble friends. A sizable one at last :)
Hiya, Sprite. Love the glow worm poem!
thanks Judi :)
Down to 67. Time for a break.
wow nice going! See you later maybe :)
good morning / hello all
hiya teach!
Good Morning All. the 9 is re + c 7/36
hi Nef
Hi Sprite. I love that poem/icon too! :-)
it makes me smile every day :)
do you have sun shining out of your bum too? ;-)
*grinnnn* I'd have to check that...
Judi, even with your clue, I haven't found a single one of those je's (I have 2 others, though)
double vowels; double cons Nef
hi phaeton
hi sprite...hi all
sprite, my dtr. sometimes says her job requires her to "blow sunshine out her a**" on some days.... (she works in tourism)
oh yes! Must be hard on some days. But rewarding.
Nef, about those 2 Js you have... one is like the italian greeting, could you pls tell me the stats on the other one?
thanks phaeton, but I've tried that too. (I must be slow this AM -or dense)
She normally loves it, sprite. But we all do have bad days
je 4/9
Nef: J + to e** is human, to forgive divine + past tense ending but double the vowel. Plural.
ah there it is, thank you Nef. Js done. Thanks Judi too for those 4 weird ones.
thanks sprite. I guess I stopped too soon when entering letters (who knew those were words?)
they are definitely odd
hi Sprite, nef and all, did you take one r out of those two fior the other j words?
they are derived from arabic words, hence the different spellings. It means a blunt wooden javelin, used for certain games played on horseback in the middle east.
hi vanilla! Lonnnnng time no see :) Yes I did. And how are you?
Judi, I cannot read what is on your T-shirt. "How about a ..... cup of .....?"
well thanks, been finishing earlier last few weeks trying not to make it too late at nights
hi vanilla. I agree, long time no see (I'm not around at this time very often these days)
sounds wise. Love seeing you though :)
you too, we had a long lost cousin from Groningen here for a few weeks that was fun
oh how nice! I have several friends in Groningen, even though that is at the other side of the country. Glad you had a good time together :)
Heron recently told me that vanilla slice is some sort of a cake (I think; I was pretty sleepy when she was telling me about it). And here I thought that you had such an original name! :-)
tasty :D :D
yes, its a puff pastry with a custard and cream filling with icing on top
mine have a small dash of rum
sounds very good, but not something to have every day.
not the pastry, but the person for sure
I suppose its as Australian as Pavlova and Pie and sauce lol
ji4/9 anyone?
two more vowels medusa
something else I've never heard of....
medusa: like the italian greeting ci**
thanks sprite
yvw. I usually miss both of those.
pavlova was named in honour of a russian dancer, its a meringue desert with a crisp crust
you are having a holiday today sprite
I had heard of both. Kind of funny... dancers cannot eat zilch, they have to be so very thin, and this is a ri4 dessert!
And raspberries and peaches. Add those and its eggs and fruit so must be good for you ;)
lol hi spanner!
sounds yummy!
Hi Sprite. You good?
but it is odd that it would be named after a dancer
better than those heavy cakes
yes we do, vanilla. Today is Hemelvaartsdag... Ascension, I think? Tomorrow is an extra day off for both my husband and my kids. Long weekend!
I am well and not being too good, grin. And you?
It was named in honour of her visit, and the meringue if light and the fruit was low fat!
Remember when we were there in 2003 that lots of people went bike riding, they were everywhere
Good, knitting a new sock pattern :)
the bike is a very common means of transportation in the netherlands. And even more so in university cities, like Groningen.
oh nice! I love knitting socks. What is new about the pattern?
Just nice and lacey, I am into lacey stuff at the moment...
i have alot of sock patterns but they are all for working in rounds! am looking for one that is for rows!
Medusa you must try in the round, the results are much better, try it on a set of double ended pins...
oh I only work in rounds for socks. My grandmother taught me, she had this marvelous pattern, and I fine-tuned it even further, so I am happy with it.
I like my simple pattern - I sent you a copy sprite afew years ago - because I can fiddle with it and add cables and things if I wan to
yes I kept it, it is a nice one.
i just bought myself some double pointed ones. its silly. i been knitting for over 30 years and i never done rounds!
I havent knitted many socks lately. My 2 youngest have gone to live in Spain and its too warm for socks...
in that case, medusa, all you have to do is dare to try with 4 needles. Short ones, for socks. You have so much experience, you will be comfortable with it in no time.
need help with the 9 please
re9 - to lug something again
Sprite is right Medusa. Try it, you will never look back.
i am gonna give it a try. just have so many things on the go at the moment!
re9----to tote again, teach
I need to knit myself a pair of sleeping socks. Sounds sooo corny, doesn't it. But I have sick nerves and my feet are killing me... no feeling as in touch, but all kinds of pain shoots and crazy hot/cold stuff.

they are 2 combos, alt spelling, for blunt wooden javelins used in certain games in the middle east. J + to *** is human, to forgive divine, + past tense ending but double the vowel. Plural. The other combo is same but have a single consonant.

btw medusa, the lady in the vid holds her working thread to the left, which might be confusing. But the technique is just the same if you rather hold the thread to the right side.
bichon, double the R

wow, 66 C words
Hi kids.
hi scrabbs
I just finished with my morning session.
Hi Scrabs. Have you read the cover of Time magazine about attachment parenting. The 3 y.o. is nursing on the cover.
ca 8--one who follows a professional path. builds on the ca 6
odd word, ty Kateq
ty Kateq
yw
I saw the pic and read MANY essays about it. I also saw the mother on TV with a doc that supports attachment parenting. What ever happened to expecting kids to become independent, responsible beings?
I feel if a child is able to hold a cup he/ does not need to nurse, espec if they have some teeth. do not agree with attachment parenting
And what is wrong with a mother getting a decent night's sleep. The baby wearing I can understand
Breast feeding during toddlerhood does not bother me, but kids need to become separate beings, to not be the center of the family, to be independent.
Amen Scrabs. Encouraging attachment and dependence seems counter productive to me.
it most certainly does not need to be done in public
I agree with Scrabbs too
I have never understood militant, in your face, breast feeding mothers.
Yes, Molly. The goal of parenting is to prepare a child for adulthood, to give kids the skills to become happy, independent and responsible.
What I disliked most about that Time cover was the caption "Are You Mom Enough?" Mom enough for what? Everyone parents the way they see fit.
I LOVE watching babies breast feed--it almost moves me to tears to see the bond.
I know one of these attachment parents and she is, IMHO, nuts
Yes, the mommy wars were stirred up and mothers already experience enough anxiety and guilt, especially if they are working outside the home.
A mother with a 2 y.o. who is still nursing + a newborn with a need for frequent feedings would be too much for me.
well, they design the covers to get attention, so being rude and controversial gets attention
true viajes
I would bet that the TIME mother, as I have seen with others making similar choices, has allowed the child to come between the parents and create marital discord. I have seen many mothers become so attached to their kid that the father is pushed away. The marriage comes first or the family fails.
probably should have been single mothers then
How can a man and woman have a normal intimate life when their kids sleep with them every night?
I have known some marginalized, sad fathers that get outranked by the kid.
okay work time for via -- later all!
Bye viajes
And what about rolling over on the baby when sleeping in bed with parents
Yep, risk of suffocation.
My almost 3 y.o. grandson still sleeps with mommy and still has a binkie.
i never had any of my girls in my bed but emma who is 4 will get on end of my bed if she wakes up in the nite
This little boy will soon be in school and this Time cover will follow him for the rest of his life. What is wrong with this mother that she cannot prepare him for his adult life which will come all too soon. So sad for her and for him.
Sears, the Attachment Parenting guru, says that if you have to work in the first year of baby's life (hello, who doesn't) that you bring the baby to work with you (hello, who can do that?)
really, Molly, what a dumb thing to say by the doctor
bbl
The funniest comment I read about the Time cover was "How do I get this image off my computer? If the Feds raid my house I will be doing five to ten." (As in, it looks like kiddie porn)
I agree, bfdeele
It's the parents that create the overattachment to the child/children, to the detriment of the marriage and the kid(s.)
totally, scrabs, the kids just do what is asked of them
Did Sears take his/her child to work with them? I am so tired of these "gurus" telling people that they should do this, that, or the other, while they themselves do not do as they preach.
bbl
This kind of thing was common during WW II. Food was so scarce, mothers were reluctant to deprive their children of "free milk"...so they breast-fed their kids much longer than usual.
Gotta go pick up lunch at the restaurant across the street. BRB
Yes Erda, but I see that as a practical reason to extend breast feeding. These parents are in no need of such a thing.
I know that, Molly...
so, to change the topic, any clues for the e in the third row?
wipe the chalk, uusue
hi Babblers
oh, duh, thanks, ch!
and hi aloy!
hi aloy
all finished, sue?
not with the grid :-) but grading is done
lol, I meant the grading.. what a relief! congrats!
hi ch1212
I still have a few administrative tasks, though, and it looks like I may be acquiring a graduate student (!) - meeting this afternoon
and now I must go thanks for the nbt!!! see you all later!
back after a lovely dinner. Hi all.
bye, sue.. and hi sprite!
bye sue, hi sprite!
hi ch and Aloy :)
and bye sue
Back.
am wondering if there will ever be a grid without a word that is strange to me.. probably not
howdy Scrabbler, wb!
Aloy, pretty soon you will know every word in the dictionary. I know it.
it would be such a thrill to finish a grid without looking up a single word.. lol, no way, Scrabbs!
but.. when I play Scrabble with my friend, J.. (we have been playing for over 25 years).. she shakes her head and asks, "where did you get THAT word?"... and I say, "Babble" !
Geez, I already hear a screaming toddler out in the waiting room. The peace of lunchtime is over.
I do that to my sister. She gets so frustrated when I play weird words.
Are you back in Ohio, Aloy?
.. sending Scrabbs some ear plugs
almost, Scrabbs.. by early next week..
going back to a mess.. limbs down, grass way too high, broken furnace.. ugh
I have to laugh whenever I listen to the sounds of our office--crying, screaming, yelling, pleading...it's a zoo here.
good you can keep it in perspective, Scrabbs
Well, I understand that we take care of young animals, so we hear and witness animal behavior--even in adolescents.
back for a short while
hi medusa
hi medusa
hi hun
Alright, my first patient is being placed in a room. A sleeping toddler soon to be awoken. He'll freak out.
I'll be back if I can.
hope it goes well, Scrabbs.. (-:
?

Aha I see the dreaded currency coins strike again in the j department!
I was thinking a mushed up way of saying the singer of "When You're Hot, You're Hot" : )
ty torgone and kazzer
Might be too esoteric, Molly ..
Cool, I didn't know I could be esoteric.
if one can be a miscreant, then why not a creant?
halfway!!!
How can someone be a mis of something that is not a word? It begs some contemplation.
it's like uncouth
hi all. jo clues please.
Jo's not home

Dave's not here man.

that's a very good question, Harry
I'm in a philosophical mood today :)
but babysitter is leaving, so I must go take care of the offspring. 114 left, bbl hopefully
also, if you can de5 (remove the oxygen), why can't you re5?
tv programs are often re(oxygened)
very true!
and they have the verb, but not the PERSON who enjoys books more than once... (the +er)
yes, especially when compared to some of the strange words(?) that are accepted
oops. in other news, it's very hard to find a six-letter word when you believe you are looking for a five-letter word.
<-- totally knows how to count
lol, have done that too
is the re9 a normal word? and is it related to the re8 after it? (I don't have either one)
no idea, didn't know there was one - I'm limping along here very slowly

Mary, to tote a package again
hi all!!
ok babblers, ive got a question for you all today...
hi scrambler
ty
it wasn't me!!!
when you have been in a position for several years and been with a company for a handful of years, if you are being promoted into a first-time management position, what percentage of a raise would you expect?
I havent the slightest...have been out of the workforce for over 10 years but congrats
20
Eveneing all, back for the last 33
10-20%
bbl!
Eva, doesn't your compny have a pay scale? If I get a promotion I already know what I will be paid beause the pay scale tells me
net
im sure we do, but if we do, i cant locate it. plus, this promotion is sort of not completely in line with what ive been doing, so im a little lost as to what i should be asking for
I own a company in t agree, more like 15% if your industry has been affected by the US / Global economy. I get a lot of resumes even for management positions.
pay scales?? i never saw one in 30 years.was always in the ceo office playing the game and hammering out a deal
oops fragmented sentence, :3
i agree w/Crosshair, a lot of companies these days won't even bother showing you one!
clue for the 9 please :3
thanks!
re9 - to tote again
and you are right there scrambler.my in box was stuffed with kids fresh out of university with new letters after their name drip drying on the degree swho were shocked to discover that the 6 figure jobs were not just sitting there waiting when they exited from the hallowed halls of acadamiae
the market here is flooded with over qualified individuals.
i know im not very aggressive when it comes to asking for raises + whatnot, and i really have no idea where my salary falls in relation to my coworkers. but regardless, this new position will be a lot more work + responsibility, and i want to make sure i am fairly compensated for that.
thanks! Giantarell
sadly, they were so overqualified, for the position,i could not hire them
you could always turn it on its head Eva and ask them what they consider to be fair recompense for the additional work/responsibility, and then argue up if you dont like what you hear
I agree with Glant
i know , it is awful for todays graduates and for the workplace in general!
can I get a clue for he 6/36
glant: thats pretty much been my plan, but id really like to have an idea of where i SHOULD be. who knows, maybe im already at the upper end? probably not, though...
it's a spanish word, title of a Joni mithcell album
might be a word for a wind?

this is wild.. here's a song in an early form: http://tinyurl.com/3dyexlq strange to hear it like that.
oh my gosh, she is so young, too! And very different hearing it 'raw' and fresh.
yes. I wish I could just learn an instrument and be proficient like that so quickly.
I agree. I'd even be happy to take a long time becoming proficient --- I've been playing guitar for 30+ years and still just plunking! lol!
http://tinyurl.com/7fzu9mh
I feel proficient singing, but not at piano, and I would love to play guitar, but I have never taken the time. I learned a couple chords once.LOL
I watched an old 1970's SNL with Paul Simon hosting, and Art Garfunkel came on too and sang. I loved, loved their exquisite harmonies.
My mom could hear a song and then sit down and play it with full accompinament.
I remember seeing that on tv when it happened!
My brother was like that too --- he never picked up an instrument he couldn't play beautifully within a day or two.
sigh.
I used to joke that I got the voice, but he got the musical talent!
stuck on the o's now -- will go and paint for a while
I have to leave too --- Beloved's car broke down, we had it towed, and the mechanic just called. Happy babbling all!
you like to sing?
... half way ... and it's much to hard work for me today ... think i'll finish walking home
... "Our House ... is a very very very fine house ... with two cats in the yard ... life used to be so hard ... without you ... ... " ... night all ... later days
You can Babble while you walk? : O
(dashing off) yes, I even had a couple songs on the radio years ago, just can't play an instrument very well. My brother was a master musician in bands in Nashville up until his death this year. Okay all -- see you later!
my two cats WANT to be in the yard,LOL I see them in the window and think of that song. And I remember seeing our two cats and thinking of that song 31 years ago.
you can't leave on that note!! what songs??
guess she can ;-)

What did you eat, Stidmama? Can your boy cook?
hi everyone, back to hopefully finish this!
LOL yes, all my menfolk can cook -- it's in their genes. It was panfried chicken smothered in bbq sauce, left-over roasted veggies from yesterday and rice. Satisfying and quick.
hey golfnut!
hiya:) I went to the home economics 5 course feast tonight. A lot of male students can really cook! didn't happen in my home-ec class way back when
ah, yes, golfnut -- about half the kids in the HS food classes I sub for are boys. They LOVE to eat!
lol, they made everything from the buns to the pumpkin torte. It was all delicious:)
viajes in the house
I only remember tuna casserole and tuna melt!
mmmmm. could end up needing a weight loss group if I taught in those classes too often!
hey viajes!
hi viajes
well, I doubt I'm getting much further than 100 tonight, so I'd better go. It was nice to meet you guys. Hope to meet more of you soon :)
hope so, andrew -- have a good evening!
