you should hear what's going on here.
what?
let me turn up my speaker a bit
Don has just dropped all 4 heat lamps from our new ceiling heater in the bathroom.
oh my goodness.... broken?
hot?
he swept all the shards up, and then spilled them all again. lol.
how awful
just the bulbs? or the actual lamps?
oh absolutely, dee. am trying very hard not to laugh. dee, the globes can be replaced. not him...
I hate the sound of breaking glass
we discovered that in our kitchen... anything glass that falls from your hands shatters on the granite countertop... literally explodes
i mean, why would you put 4 heater globes on the top of a cupboard you were planning on moving???
oops!
why not IN the cupboard? for goodness sake!!
can't say a word... have done similar stuff myself...
I always feel so stupid afterwords
dee, one of the reasons i had vinyl tiles laid in the bathroom was for that exact reason....wasn't counting on Don dropping 4 heater globes onto the floor.
Almost had a glass catastrophe here; bought a huge, heavy vase at Pier 1 for the glass table in the nook... picked it up to move it for dinner and the base of the vase literally broke off; hit the glass table, but neither shattered... my guardian angel was watching out for me that night.
I bet.... expensive lights, too.
oh, yeah, i hear you dee. now that would have been catastrophic!!!
.. those who live in glass houses....
oh, hello, ruru
could not believe it... I think the vase was flawed... bad glass blowing ... bottom snapped right off
hi ru LOL

this one had a few nasties in it....like the ha8.
that's my name with an accent volley lol
ummm, that is ma8
it's been a tough week here... 47 year old died... she dated my nephew in high school... remember that as if it were yesterday... stupid cancer
lol dart
what kind of cancer?
breast cancer... had it beaten for 5 years and then it came back fast and furious
super healthy, beautiful woman until that hit...
oh, dee, so sorry, hun. was she close to you? or is it the feeling of your own mortality? i know nowadays i feel the death of someone close to my age, very personally.
another dear friend dxd with mesothelioma... has never been around asbestos (that they can discern)... came out of nowhere
both granny; she was very close to being my niece... really can't remember why they broke up
so sad...I has a girlfriend I had dated and almost married...we broke up and she eventually married someone else...had a baby and then died of the same thing at 31......I found out about it when someone said they saw the notice in the paper
dee, tears pouring down my face...that is what happened to my darling robyn. the cancer even invaded her heart.
the same age, even.
hate it ... it has to come from all the chemicals in our foods and meats... getting way too prevalent in all ages
sounds similar rose... had gone into her brain just a month ago... and other vital organs... cannot believe how fast it metastasized
31 is hideous dart ... how old was the baby?
told my hubby I am not reading the newspaper or answering the phone for at least a week
baby was less than a year old....never will remember her mom except in pictures
heartbreaking
i know, dee. robyn's death was too fast for any of us, within her circle.
My mom passed of breast cancer that metastisized to her spine and brain she fought for just over three years before giving up the fight.
I cannot believe we haven't found a cure, particularly since it is striking all ages and even both sexes these days
taylor, that is too sad, hun. my heart goes out to you.
so very sorry for your loss, taylor
have my checkup in the next few weeks and really dreading it
ty both. It has been almost 8 years, but feel like only yesterday. I miss her so much and wish she could be here to see my twins.
dee, you are so right. the number of young males( and i mean 20-somethings) who come through for surgery for cancer....and the old chooks like me are left behind to grieve for the loss of them.
girl should be about 15 by now
I totally understand that, taylor; my mom died in 90 of colon cancer
i never kept track of my old girlfriends
wonder if her dad remarried, dart
none of them, ru?
taylor, believe, hun. she is with you everyday, watching over you and your children.
so true, granny
nope.. not really dee
I still want to pick up the phone and call her... odd void.
not sure...someone showed me the notice and asked if was her....i went to see her parents to see how they were doing...had a nice chat and they were caring for the baby while he worked...haven't seen them since...and now we are in diff states
I am curious about a couple of mine; the others could be on mars LOL
really tough situation
why didn't you marry her dart?
may i share something really lovely with you all? ( deviating from the current topic of chat)
yes?
she went to guatemala for last semester of college....liked it and wanted to join the Pe5 corp and go there for a while...I didn't
big difference in life choices... makes sense
the other AM, at 6:15, when i had just got up, was feeling pretty ordinary, as you can imagine. Don walked through, kissed me good-morning, and went off saying ' i feel like a frog'
I already had a job forecasting weather...she was just getting out of school
you would have been Darto in guatemala
el darto
hey everyone
ROFL
i said ' huh?', and he said...i have just been kissed by a princess'
oh.. how cute granny

hello madjc
awww... many brownie points banked with that one
LOL darto
made up for broken lights in advance lol
lol, yup, dee
shattered beams?
hey madjc....you are almost in the grid
hey grannyrose - peas under the mattress?
hey scouser....lol
whew I almost misread that scouser
lol, ruru....that would be under the bed....in the goesunder mayhap?
As a child I could detect the tiniest wrinkle in the bed and my Ma called me the princess. My grandchild is just the same
lol I hate wrinkles, too
and dart, i have the-one-in-a-million hubby, the rest of the good ones are all here.
in the UK the under-bed-facility gets special spelling: gezunder (as opposed to the gezinter which is maths)
rest of the good ones are good spellers?
and me...dee and scouser...wrinkles in the sheet ....aaagghhhh
special grannyrose and hubby.... bless
like it, scouser, will try to remember it....no promises, though.
i like to make wrinkles in the sheet
LOL
There you go ruru the toothy goat strikes again
* ugh* ruru, too much info
crap granny.. I ain't looking for no pea
well, all...best be going, busy day tomorrow
bye volley
good time to split dee.. i'm getting warmed up
hugs to all my babble buddies!
Rest well, and have a great day!
just crap, no pee...hmmm, how do you do that, ruru?
To return to the grid pe6/27 - can the 5/14 be a verb?
night, dee. rest well, my friend
i'm diurinal granny
yes, scouser
grannyrose dont take ruru literally
not going there, ruru
I'll bidet you all a good night too
talk about lowering the tone ruru
lol darto
it gets worse
oh, dart...et, tu, Brut?
hasta luego
buenas noches
lol Dee if you are still there
night, mate, hope you have a great rest.
thx gran pooof
damn.. if I could just run him off before he finishes a grid
damn.. if I could just run him off before he finishes a grid
scouser, learned my lesson long ago...never take the ruru seriously
haha...ru...ru.... got caught by the hicc-uup.

thank you
np's....next?
promise not to clue unless you ask
ty grannyrose
I have ci 4 off the c in the corner.. the stats for the other is?
ch7
I put in the old favourite et4/5 right at the start and it did not show up in the grid, only in the list cos it can go in three ways. It still hasn't decided
scouser, et4/5 is definitely in the grid, and the list should accept it.
ruru, did you get the ch7?
ac6/24 plz
ac6, what a good tennis player does to an opponent( past tense) + 2 vowels
the other one
oh, ok, ac + 5th vowel + past tense of to consume
thanks
that ch7 should have a capital letter
np's oggy. and how are you, today? it's freezing(almost) over here. what's it like in your neck of the woods?
I got the ac6/24 but why tennis? botany I thought
scouser, when a tennis player serves an unreturnable first ball it's called an ace
sorry completely muddled the two clues and the two responses ....... par for the course
lol, wrong sport, dear
ty grannyrose
please can i have a clue for the 8

hello oggy and rose and flaks
{{ruby}}}
{{rosie}}
yeah its 9.30 in the morning over here
I am already tired and the morning has barely begun
lovely to see you, dearest friend. and how is DH?
hi ruby
walking my monster puppy is a huge effort, fun but physically difficult!
Hi ruby.....
morning oggy!
oggy, that means a long day....and ruby...:(
Dh is doing all he can to bring down my good spirits so I am just trying to ignore him as much as I can
hi flask
he is depressed and constantly looking for slights, sadnesses, regrets, etc.
Thank God for the puppy and for Ruby's hanging in!
yeah, time for shower before work, see you all 2morrow have fun
bye oggy!
bye oggy, hagd
daut
hmmm....first thought...is give him one in the.....nah, not appropriate....give him another campari...i don't care what time it is.
hello hello no no
oh, what good news...ruby is still with us...my darling, hang onto every precious minute.
she seems energized, walking again, eating well, alert
she's still breathing pretty hard part of the time, but a month ago, I thought she was a goner
lovely, ruby. you must be on top of the world.
does DH realise how sick she is? or is he incapable of holding onto that thought?
I kept telling him that she was breathing too hard for months and he kept saying "There's nothing wrong" Maybe it's just that he can't hear her
* nodding 8 that's probably true, ruby...he can't hear her.
but because I give her a one-hour massage every night (figuring it can't do any harm), I am much more intimately involved with her
ruby, you were always intimately involved with ruby. unfortunately, DH will never know the joys of connecting with ruby, either emotionally or physically.
he talks abut how much he loves both dogs, and I think he does, but doesn't spend the same kind of time I do with them
off to get my own meds ready for tonight and tomorrow AM. and, so sad, ruby. he doesn't know whatheis missing
he's missed a lot! see you soon sweet Rose. And my house is filled with yellow roses right now and, unusually for these inexpensive ones, they are fragrant
back again for a bit - window fitting men came and istracted me LOL
Could I nget a clue for ma8, please?
abet
lummy. hard to clue.
sorry
m + 4 vowels + a small involuntary movement of a muscle
the vowels are in alphabetical order, only one missing is o
sorry 2nd and 3rd voels are transposed
wow, thanks glant, never would have seen that one
somebody clued it earlier, i'd never have got it in a million years
Is the last for letters something you scratch
i meant four letters
no - last 3 letters are like a small nasty insect
maoiitch
sorry
or a small movement of your muscle which annoys the heck out of you]
no o in the word either LOL
is it a four letter word beginning with it
no - m + 4 vowels + 3 letter word
if you tok last four letters they would remind you of words related to pee
it is a 3 letter word meaning an involuntary movement
*took
3 constanants correct
M, 4 vowels, involuntary movement ( 3 letters)
I know I am driving everyone crazy but are the last three letters *** tac toe?
Yes
got it finally, thanks
it was a hard word..wtg!
clue for ch 7, please
ch7 - start like the cheese, end with a man's item of neckwear rearranged.
good morning, Haz, still morning there?
Hello, Annie, yes, just about 11.20 here.
I should be further along with my housework but I've allowed myself to be distracted.
5 hour differnce, got the ch, thanks
babble distraction is good, the housework will always be there
You're welcome.
I know, but I do like the place to be tidy.
You can just imagine all our versions of tidy compared to Haz's :P
Good morning, Ata! Bear in mind that I'm the daughter of a houseproud mother and the wife of the tidiest man alive.
I am tidy also but I wouldn't want to be in a "tidy" contest with Haz
Exactly :) Dust beware!
good morning, Ata :)
I should be working too but I finally remembered at 3am what I've wanted to tell Haz for about a week!
Aha! Waiting in anticipation....
it's very boring, really, though. I found a book in a charity shop the other day that I've always wanted to read because it was held up as A Bad Example in the Chalet School books and banned from all dormitories
Were there tidier men who have passed away?
hello BR :)
It may be possible, BabbleRabble, but it would be a close run contest.
The Constant Nymph by Margaret Kennedy. Read it yesterday, what an amazingly 1920s book. Quite wonderful.
What was the book, Ata?
Hello, Annie.
and the name of the book is.......
I must have a look for it. What was the basis of it being disgraceful and a bad example?
I am going to look for the book.
Ata may just have set us down the road of disgrace. I will have my censor's pen at the ready.
The title sounds familiar as a film starring Bette Davis.
Can a beautiful woman be all bad?
Oh, its wonderful, you must all read it and howl with laughter at some of the attitudes. Its very racy, Haz, far too much for the chalet school. Love affairs and running away to Munich
Oh, Munich. Well, there you have it.
but set in Switzerland very close to where the CS was meant to be at the time
Or was it Berlin that was beyond the pale?
there is pregnancy and opera and libertudinous attitudes and passionate kisses on the hand and willful young men determined to take innocent girls off to depraved places (MUnich again)
I think it was made into a few films over the years
It sounds as if it has shades of Henry James.
I've obviously led a sheltered life, I'd never heard of it.
the opening page is wonderful, all about how is was generally accepted that no-one of any wisdom or gentility could ever come from Hammersmith
and Hammersmith is where or what?
It's like Augustus Carp, whose father never allows their home to be pronounced in French fashion lest they be corrupted (Chez Nous)
Hammersmith is a district of London.
I've only ever heard of it through that one horrified reference by ELinor Brent-Dyer. You must must read it.
I must get it.
Poor Elinor. Maybe it was reading the book that caused that teacher's hair to go white overnight.
Its actually a very good book, anyway, but now with the extra layer of seeing the attitudes and thoughts of that time. One poor (and annoying) child is refrred to as "it" half the time because none of her siblings liked her
Annie, we should explain the Chalet School book references. Written by Elinor M Brent-Dyer, a series of books about the adventures of girls at a boarding school in Switzerland. She copied and pasted descriptions from one book to the next.
Okay, no copy and paste in her day but the characters were always described in the same way. One girl had the purity of voice of a choirboy.
and the girls were all very jolly hockeysticks and didn't look at men until they very nicely got married to the local doctor
and jolly plucky
I love it!
And one teacher 'Bill' (I think) had the distinction of having her hair go white overnight because of a lucky escape from the Nazis. I declare it was more likely the reading of that book that did it.
Word of the day from Ata...libertudinous. Love it. : )
EBD wasn't the greatest writer, but her books were wonderful in childhood. If rather simialr from book 1to book 57
The school library had lots of the books but I don't think I ever got to read them in order.
is it even a word? it sounded like it should be!
term of the day from ata "jolly hockeysticks"
No, it's a new word.
But it should be a word, it sounds good.
I now declare it is a word.
isn't it interesting that one can make up words and other people get what they mean even though they aren't words. people are clever
Absolutely. If my husband can create new words and terms, so can Ata.
but I could never be as brilliant at it as Mr Haz!
He gets names mixed up so he christened the George Foreman Grill either 'The Greg Norman' or the 'George Formby'.
he is the master of that!
Mr Haz - equivalate = approximate to or be equivalant to.
I like that one
neologism
approxamatizationalism= the art of equivilating
He wondered why the man who wanted assisted euthanasia didn't go to that Adidas place in Switzerland. (Dignitas)
a friend once told me about a big bombing in the news in Belgravia. He meant Belgrade
One of the funniest I've heard recently was a friend whose boss got words terribly mixed up. He once declared that the world was his lobster.
LOL!!
And couldn't understand why people fell about laughing.
LOL
have you had any mad clients recently?
Yes! I told you about the woman who kept ringing the wrong number and leaving messages for the vets?
yes!
She was absolutely furious that the vets didn't ring her back and gave off that she could only get through to an answering machine. We have no answering machine....
It was hilarious because the people who kept getting the messages put the call on youtube.
Oh I'm so glad I turned chat on this morning. "The world is my lobster." : D
I must be off. It was so very nice "listening" to you both. It made me think of FM.
I hope she didnt see the youtube!
The emergency seemed to be that her chihuahua had bitten her and she wanted the vets to come and tell her what to do. This was after midnight... I'm so pleased we didn't get the call because I'm not sure just how tactful I could have been.
Bye, Annie, nice to see you again.
we miss her :(
We do - every day.
I would have told her to get a proper dog
The other interesting thing was a frog having an x-ray.
really?! a pet frog??
Yes, a pet frog. It was bendier than it should have been - calcium deficiency.
a bendy pet frog ... I love your life
Never a dull moment, you just never know what you're going to hear when you pick up the phone.
was it a normal frog or one of those huge bulbous bullfrog things?
PHone - who knows what this will be?
Atalante, is your work to make the world a better place over for the moment?
no, I'm just having a few weeks off to deal with real life angst and trauma. Which is rather relaxing!
I'm officially due 3 months leave, so I thought I'd take a few weeks worth!
Well, if your work is that stressful, taking a break is a wonderful decision.
and babble seemed back to being "normal" compared to a year or so ....
normal ina relative sense of course!
There are constant cultural changes here with the new arrivals and drop-offs of some of the veterans.
which is good. but chat did go a bit mad for a while with certain people and certain attitudes!
I know of what you speak .... I had an interesting go around with the "comic."
yes .... I just couldn't deal with all that. This is meant to be fun.
but luckily, as you said, there is constant revolution of people and ideas and it seems a lot more back to calmer and nice now
though I like not this grid
I pretty much go word to word until there are no more .... yes there are some difficult finds in this one
a 9 letter does seem rather improbable
I am the tortoise
oh my! ata! I haven't seen you in what seems like years!
hi ruby!
I could clue if you wish
And I'm back - no pet talk, just a friend for a chat.
I ama the walrus
Coo-coo-cachoo Ruby. : )
what sort of frog was it? I am intrigued!
It was an American bull frog, I think.
oh, yes, one of those bulbous things. ugh!
Husband got the task of taking it back to the branch surgery after it had woken up from the sedation. He was quite tickled when it puffed itself up in defence.
we had huge poisonous dinner-plate-size frogs in Miami. They could kill a dog, just by being bitten
it must be quite a specialise task to sedate a frog? cold blooded vs normal etc
They probably had a textbook to follow.
they were fasciniating to see, but it was always a problem keeping my pups from investigating
If they haven't done an operation before or if it's quite complicated, they'll bring a textbook into the theatre to follow the pictures.
I love the idea of a pet frog/toad
<-- loves reptiles
call me a worried pet owner, but I always like the idea of a vet knowing what he's doing rather than following a textbook :)
Step one. Sedate the frog. Step two. Spreadeagle the frog. Step three, x-ray the frog. Step four, pray while attempting to waken the frog.
I've had vets here take notes when I've asked for Prozac with my poor Max (RIP)
Oh, it's really only if it's a very complicate orthopaedic operation and it's just for back-up rather than trying to fly blind.
vets here never heard of an autistic dog
I had never heard of a cow frog: http://tinyurl.com/9tkbxum
You need a set of little badges showing what people have experience in. Mr Haz can have a new one sayign "frog!"
(This is me trying to restore Ata's faith in the veterinary profession)
ata: does your neighbor still have that gorgeous chow?
since I last "saw" you, we've lost our beloved Max but have a magnificent puppy, Ruffino, 9 months old on the 13th
friend, not neighbour, but yes she certainly does :D
and he's related to all our others
what a splendid name! what colour?
we are lucky to have found him to fill the space in our hearts
he was supposed to be red, but he's shaded blonde and quite light with a white tail.
But neighbors think he's Ruby's son, lol
how lovely!
he's enormous (more than 50 lbs at less than 9 mos, and smart, affectionate and athletic
and he's given old Ruby a new lease on life, DH, too
awwww :)
I can't imagine having only one dog as these are so fragile
they never look very fragile!
They're chihuahua sized under all that fur.
they don't look fragile, but in order to have these sweet lovely ones, I think they've been bred too much. However, they are the sweetest, lovelist dogs of all. Ruby weighs about 75 lbs and Rufie is on the way....
no fat, though
and the puppy has paws twice the size of Ruby's
he's a moose
awwwwwwwww
I am very fortunate to have found these wonderful dogs
you need a spaniel :)
haha, only if it has bacl gums and a purple tongue! Husband had a spaniel when he was a kid
Not that we're biased or anything.
that was black*
of course not
How are your babbling skills, Ata, have they been diminished at all?
not doing very well today!
ata: if I can find your e-mail address, I'll send photo of Ruffino
he is perfect, or, as the vet says, "magnifique"
elegaer@gmail.com
ty, will send
do you have any experience with field spaniels, Haz?
Name that Proper Noun - goddess of witchcraft
??
hecate?
just guessing
Not really, Ata, certainly not in terms of hunting/working dogs. We've encountered some that are a bit skittish/nervous.
Very Excellent! You win an Eye of Newt!
ty godthaab
just have an idetic memory
phantom attitude
If Marie Antoinette were at sea, she'd be serving ga6/27 from the ba6/27
How do you relate to Hecate?
my only other possibility apart from a working cocker. I like spaniels between cocker and springer size. I suppose even a Welshie would fit that category though
hello carla and my atittude is definately phantom
Hi. PS - I knew the Hecate thing from Buffy. :-)
Yes, Welshies are definitely in the field category.
I don't know where I knew it from
hecate=wannabe best friend?
Oh yea! Welcome to the Dark Side.
my life tends to verge on the dark side lol
Haz, I like your clues!
Thank you, godthaab.
Great clue hHaz
Hi all....clue please for bo5/18
Fr word meaniing German
is that la pe6 Marie Antoinette?
bo5/18 - what the French call the Germans during WW1. b plus Scot exclamation finish with a vowel.
Yes, she was very pe6. And not even French.
{{bichon}}
was she du5?
Hi ruby
No, Austrian.
I thin Austrian
snap, haz
well I know, but that couldn't be a grid word :P
and had lice in her peruque! eeew
It could have been a phantom.

Would she have had a needlecase or would she have relied on others to fix her hems?

For the 9, think of the Sermon on the Mount.

I need the top lone O

oh! ty Ata
got it, ty haz
og4 = old runic writing system
the 8?
ma8
ma8 has the same structure as a word meaning 'grand' displaying majesty. Now replace the j with a vowel and the s for another vowel.
ok dont see it at all
Or, ma plus three vowels not in order, finish with an involuntary movement (three letters)
lost
got it ty
ty Haz, what a word
what the heck does that mean?!
Well done! Not an easy word to clue, I'm afraid.
It means you elicit information like Socrates.
of or pertaining to the method used by Socrates of eliciting knowledge in the mind of a person by interrogation and insistence on close and logical reasoning - oh of course!
well, it would take Socrates to figure that one out!
Use it in a sentence
at least it is not waterboarding
Let's be glad we have space in our brains to learn these things.
monkeys have fallen over dead, we need a vet!
Sherlock Holmes was ma8 in his methods.
can't find it....:(
there you go Haz!
Ruby, fifth month (in French), first two letters of the continent where you live, finish off with an involuntary twitch.
I should go and be useful. But very lovely to have a morning with you all!
ty, haz, now I'll try to put it in a sentence!
It was lovely to see you again, Ata.
bye, ata, it was lovely to see yo. Sending photos of pups
Be well, Atalante
I should head off as well. Happy babbling to all. Bye!
bye everybody, see you later
and thanks for the help
Be well, Haz
Thanks, BR, you too.
*gone*
Ruby, I don't think there are many people familiar with the ma8 word. : )
you probably know it, molly, you are the smartest babbler I know!
Not even close to the smartest and I've never heard of the word before today.
and could go head-to-head with Sherlock
first ac 6 please
ac + anagram for assistant
Or assistant backwards
rt
ty
nice clue, mols
Ruby, I don't use words like that in conversation. I prefer to be understood, rather than come off like a brainiac. : D
morning all!
suze! ((ruby))
hi crossy!
good morning babble friends
howdy river:))
hi river!
and it is now time for that special part of our show, when we give you crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!!
During a 1956 speech for his campaign of de-Stalinization, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev was asked by an unseen audience member why, as an advisor to the dictator, he had never stopped Stalin from committing his atrocities. Khrushchev immediately lashed out, “Who said that?†The room grew quiet. Khrushchev repeated his query to more silence, waited a beat, and then said, “Well, now you understand why.â€
Oooh. creepy!
Good morning and Hello everyone!
and a lighter bonus tidbit...
howdy car
hello car
In 1983, a tiny fleck of paint off an earlier spacecraft hit the windshield of the orbiting space shuttle Challenger at 20,000 mph, causing a crater to form in its windshield.
Hello, car. Hope you are well and smiling
hi BR! Smiling...as I know the bus is coming shortly!!! LOL!
Hi Crossy! Hi River!
morning all
howdy science
Hi Science!

hello bichon
River, can I have a hint, pls
anyone have stats for the 8 and 9
nm
e + sticky stuff
my chat response is very slow today
the nine refers to what was given at the Sermon on the Mounts
and that is the other word I always miss! I need to just start trying them every day!
ma+ 3 vowels and finish with facial spasm
Haz had a great clue or it a while earlier
It refers to Socratic dialoge
Is the A after the M considered one of the 3 vowels?
wow - thanks crossy
yes
sorry
no
? Now I am confused!
no,i was right first time,it is mathen 3 vowels
that is the craziest word i can imagine - who knew you could have four vowels in a row like that?
do not confuse crossy
ma then 3 vowels than facial spasm car
take the ma word pertaining to a king and substitue vowels
so the nine is the one that's socratic or sermon on the mount related? what's that start with?
I am off to make my breakfast - see you all later
yes stats for the 9 please,as bible clue does not do it
I finally got it. TY!
no, 8 & 9 not at all related. The 9 is the Sermon on the MOunt
good for you car, it's a weird word
That one I got!
right we understand that, we just don't know what it starts with
be 9 -- sermon on the mount
be 9/78
mm,means nothing to me
ty car
oh DUH, didn't look down to see that we had a B

Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association transition unit box assembly

Has your chiro given you any exercises to strengthen the back muscles?
no, nothing specific. but i do core strengthening things on my own.
I had back problems for awhile and just did the back exercises and the problems went away
nice, was it low back? do you have a link maybe to a place where it shows how to do them?
mostly abs and lower back
bottom c?
yeah i remember my dad's chiro giving him exercises to do, mine has only given me neck ones. he spent so many years in chronic pain before she fixed him!
http://tinyurl.com/23y5x2

yeah i do some of those exercises already but i'll have to try that last one since it specifically says low back
Have you got the panic attacks manageable?
i don't have real panic attacks - i only ever had one, when i tried lexapro. i just had Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which is under control, yeah.
aw man, i really thought be + ta4/5 would work.
I have some anxiety ... fortunately, the anxiety no longer grips me like a vice

it is a variant of the in
oh, well I see it is an archaic spelling, so I stand corrected.
my clues often are more pragmatic then genuine
so, hurshy, are you kicking yourself? I was not familiar with it.
no, not kicking myself. good thing too or i'd prolly make my back worse!
yes, I don't recommend it.
pampas cowpuncher

Amen, crossy :-)
they've even changed the words in some of the old hyms.... good grief.... that was how they were written and we take such liberties in changing the original words of the author.
*hymns*
Why have they changed the words in hymns?
to make some of them non-gender, for one thing.
kids cant read them
rememer the flap when some idiot put forth thal all victorian books, mark twain was singled out should be altered to remove language or terms that are now deemed offensive??
alter history enough and we will not know what it was....
we dont anyway....
and by the way Molly.... finished book one of that McGowan trilogy... well written and researched. It took me longer to read because I kept looking up locations and artwork, etc. on my computer !
the bible was an early victim of this
I'm now excited to read the second one !
Oh jeeze. Just read an article on this. Apparently "God" is being taken out of hymns too. Hello? (Diane, I did the same thing with the books )
mm,you guys will have to get the white out going on the constitution lol
one nation under(unknowd diety)..kind of rolls off the tongue
My daughter read both the Davinci Code and this one first McGowan one.... she found the Brown novel a little disturbing, whereas she didn't feel that way about The Expected One.
I have to get my garden in... and then on to the second book !
how about one nation under no deity?
I didn't find The DaVinci Code disturbing. It's just another novel about how the divine feminine has been covered up by the church.
the davinci code was absolute literary rubbish...no character development...so many liberties with scripture and history... it was a cheap roller coaster ride...and the movie was even worse
then I will read it too !! Maybe she felt that way because she read it first !
I'd love to hear what you think, if you read it, Diane.
you will :-) ... maybe this winter, when we're down south.
time to make breakfast... hubby has just finished cutting the grass and needs to be fed :-) Be back later.
Back after a visit with the opthamologist...going to have the other cataract removed the end of October
Did I scare everyone away?
good evening all
hi Annie... not me, anyway. How did the first one work out for you?
hiya sprite :)
sprite, the surgery went beautifully. I am thrilled that I can see so well.
Wishing you all the best on your next surgery, Annie.
am so happy for you!
sprite, How is your hubby?
thanks, Molly
he is doing very well. Recovering nicely, no pain. He is being more active every day and it is really going well.
I am roasting peppers in the oven..going to check them
I am so happy for your hubby.
yummm that smells so nice
sprite, lovely scent. the skin is browning and soon I will remove, let them cool and then peel them.
I am so grateful. It went as perfectly as you can only dream about or pray for.
I love peppers. Such a great smell, makes me hungry.
*sending yellow, red and green peppers, roasted in the oven and soft..to sprite*
yummmmmmmmmmmmmy!
LOL
fresh pasta, roasted bell peppers with black pepper, and smoked salmon snippits. Wonderful meal. Very gourmet. And easy as pie.
hey, my language is in the grid :)
I just copied your gourmet meal. Will make it soon.
the pledge of allegiance was not in the constitution and was adopted in 1942 and the language "under God" was added in 1954 as part of the McCarthy Red Baiting Era.
just saying . . .
hi all
heyyy jmc :) Great to see you, has been some time. Lovely to hear your knowledge too, btw. How've you been?
hi jmc, very interesting about the Pledge of Allegiance
i have been okay. . .sometimes down in the dumps trying to get this silly organization rolling as i want it. . . but mostly fine
i learned that factoid about the pledge when I was doing the conscientious objector stuff. . .
*hugs jmc* Glad you are mostly fine. If anyone can get it rolling, it's you.
i keep thinking i have momentum and then. . . "thunk"
aarrgghh! Square wheels.
but i must say i have had wonderful support from Babbleland
woe be6,27 me, I need you to ed7,40 me with a clue for the ma8,55. LOL
exactly sprite hahaha!
I think most people know it's not part of The Constitution. Didn't know about the McCarthy era stuff though. Interesting.
babble rocks. Very good community :)
haha mixi!
lol mixi
i think you are right that most people know it is not in the constitution but most people think it is a lot older than it is. . .
it is probably the same as here... people think they know something and they never realise it isn't true. Takes a lot of proof to convince them.
ma + sounds like organ of sight + **thenasia, contoversial way to die + sound of clock, ***k tock
ok, that was one brilliant clue for one crazy word
terrible word . . . i had to look in the archives for it
totally stole it from grannyrose
in case anyone wants to know, it means: "of, pertaining to midwifery"
ty jmc, fireworks.
yayyyy mixi!
really I thought it had something to do with socrates...
What? You don't often discuss Socratic method? : P
whooo hoooo mixi!
now to watch tennis men's doubles final.
yw and ty for the two clues in your request mixi
congrats mixi
*giggle* Well eh... yes... but never knew this word belonged to that :D
i have used the socratic method in law school and since with some associates but i rarely discuss it
we discussed it and used it in the coaching training. But in Du5.
te 5/12 clue please ?
the ma is a style of questioning (Socrates)
hi smom
ah well i used to could say the pretty girl kissed the dog in Du5 but that was the height of my ability
hi sammy
sammy, te, double vowels, consonant
het knappe meisje kuste de hond? Well, I see where that could come in handy... ;)
I'll save ma8 for next time I'm in Whole Foods and someone wants to chat amidst the over priced produce. : D
what can i say i was 10 at the time
or te + my language is d*t**
lol
haha you are having a fine time with the du5 today sprite!
absolutely :D
I used to jump double du5.
i failed at du5 anyway because i had no ability to make guttural sounds. . .
Me too Annie : D
i used to go on du5 da4s
it is interesting how du5 is used in your language.
the only vowel i didn t try... thanks
not to mention a du5 uncle
yeah, that would be a problem indeed. We have nasty gutturals.
I know 'to go dutch' and 'dutch uncle'. No idea what du5 jumping is.
Well, I speak some Yiddish so I have no problem with gutteral words.
i wonder how du5 children who can't make guttural sounds make themselves understood. . .
ooops, that was the te 5/16......... still need the te 5/12
double du5 is jump roping with two ropes . . . it is a big deal in some areas of the country
Double du5 jump rope. Two ropes going at once.
hi jm
oh! I used to do that too. Thank you :)
I was very good at jumping double du5.
i see that it is popular in Belgium. . .
ah, here is what wiki says about the use of Du5: "In Britain, at the time of the Anglo-Du5 Wars in the 17th century, England and the Netherlands were at each other’s throats. At this time the English language gained a whole array of new insults (including "Du5 uncle")"
hi sprite....... i am wool gathering today
how nice, smom. Enjoy it. Te + double organ to see with + consonant.
I could still twirl, but I doubt I could still du5.
I know I can't anymore but it was one of my favorites.
hmmm that is not what i thought a du5 uncle was. . . i thought it was a guy who gave unuseful advice and criticism
going to check my peppers which are roasting.
it was so much fun to do. Also the twirling.
i can't even hula hoop worth a damn anymore
jmc: yes it is. Well, not unuseful, but critical and harsh and frank. In short: Calvinistic. Which is deep in our nation's roots.
All that booty shaking and you can't hula hoop? Shame.
I could never hula hoop. But I could jump ropes :)
hey the booty doesn't keep the hoop up
maybe mine does now, lollll. For a small hoop, maybe.
Yes, but one must move one's hips in order to shake one's booty.
shaking is easier than going in a circle. . .
I can shake it with the best of you, but not the hula hoop thing. The hoop was at my feet in two swings.
i was quite good at it as a child. . . but the body is less easily sent where i intend it to go
I heard it is pretty bad for one's hips, to hula hoop.
goodness sprite got me so fixated on the du5 i just found the di5! haha
no doubt sprite
lolllll
and the ai5 of course
*face palm*
and the cu5. Very nice language, mine.
didn't know the cu5 ty
yvw. I didn't either. Just trying everything, however silly it seems.
good point
*grin*
i was never good at it either... had ONE moment of gracefulness and agility..... it was in september of 1953..... had a perfect movement in a balet lesson....... never happened again and things went downhill from there.. am so gratful that my kids inherited their fathers agility and grace
its nice you have the memory of perfection. . .
at least you had one perfect moment :) That is a great memory.
cu5 rhymes with the cockney my old du...
hi deeha
hi Deeha
But can any of you help with te6.27 my last one
sort of a crazy thing
Hi folks how are you on this lovely day
sorry, not yet. Will help look though.
i am te in the head
pt of abbreviation for something complicated or te**nical
errr te6: past tense, T + sound that comes back to you minus last letter, give past tense ending
could also be spelled with a t in the middle
well you might be but I certainly arent!!! Got it thanks - that a very American expression
i love it when there are multiple clues all different
yup
so do I. So interesting. And the best part is at least one will work for the person who asked :)
it is an american pronunciation of a more general expression. . .touched in the head
ah ok. And what does that mean? A bit gaga?
Thats fireworks for me. Anyone want a clue before I go and watch the paraolympics - which have been on 12 hours a day here and are amazing. They have had a HUGE audienhce with every ticket sold out for every event.
is that an american expression too? yes. . .a bit gaga
close enough sprite
whoo hoo deeha
wtg Deeha! And thanks jmc and smom
not for me yet, thanks. Still need too many.
hi all
hi peri
Molls, it is g&t Friday, "clink"
hi peri
I just bought a really nice navy robe by LL Bean at my local thrift store for $10. it is long, to my ankles and has long sleeves. It is being washed as I type. The periwinkle robe I have is short, to my knees and has 3/4 sleeves so altho it is pretty it is not very warm
*Clink*
:)
how lovely, peri.
I just ate some of a mustroom truffle pizza from Trader Joes. it is really good.
New robe, cool beverage, good food, what a Friday!
it is a higher end thrift store and I have gotten some good buy there. but I also donate and shop at goodwill because it helps people.
indeed, Molls. and the house is quiet at the moment. Life is good!
I might indulge in another g&T once the robe is washed and dried.
jmc, I just read your profile about Citizens United. I couldn't agree more.
I have to go, dinner is served here. Thanks for the great chat :)
enjoy your dinner, bye sprite

Hi dc, haven't seen you in ages...how are you?
alrighty, recovering from mono slowly. and you?
I'm well. Mono is nasty and I hope you recover quickly not slowly.
thank you. it's tiresome to say the least.
Tiresome is very descriptive. Are you being taken care of?
it's been Summer-humid here the last several days, after a hot-but-not-humid Summer.
same here.
i'm resting as much as i can, eating well.
I am going to fuss with the peppers. Anyone want a clue before I leave?
bye dear babblers...poof
be well, annie
dc, I did not know you were sick. wishing you a speedy recovery
pe4/14 was my first word :)
pe5/14 even
bbl
good morning everyone :)
dc, best wishes for speedy recovery. Takes a while to recuperate from mono. rest!
gm Nan
last ac 6, please?
like the 5 following it with an extra vowel in the 4th position.
the ac5
ty amelu
yvw! ~:o)
ma 8, please?
strange one.. French for month of May, plus abbr of European Union, plus small biting insect
ty sherb -- good clue! what a weird word
weird indeed... won't be memorising this one...
te 6/27, please?
te6 - computer geek... past tense
ty sherb -- didn't know that was a word!
2 more that have me stumped... ch 7?
I suppose they can't always be looking to the future...
wow! -- monkeyed it!
ch7 - guerilla leader plus French for 'say'
same way I got it...
*!* ta da *!* - ty for the help :)
well done!
anyone want clues before I leave?
hi all, back for the last few
on my way then -- back at the flip :)
hi sprite :)
hey nan :)
evening all - back for the last 25
hi Glant :)
Hi Sprite - how you doing?
pretty ok :) And you?
Great day today - lovely sunny weather and a day spent crafting woth a friend - nd two new windows installed - oh, and home made cake :-)
So I'm in a lovely mood
wow you must feel great! What a productive day!
yup! and i'm off on a machine embroidery/mixed media course tomorrow
you are on a roll :)
:-)
*feels exhausted just listening*
it was fun sherb
crafting is so nice. Gives energy, does not take it.
and now i'm chilling with myfriend chardonnay
tell her hi from me ;)
yes, i taught my friend how to fuse fabric with a soldering iron - we layered and joined and cutorganza all day LOL
lol! Never did that, but it sounds really nice.
it's kind of zen like when you get into it
and you get amazing results - just google images for Margaret Beal
I made paper today. From nettles.
*off to google*
I make soup form nettles LOL
I would love to make paper but need somebody to hold my hand the first time I try :-)
wow that is colourful! Pretty!
I like the sound of that... I didn't know you could solder fabric...or make paper from nettles... also off to google...
Glant, it is easy. It just stinks up to heaven :)
speaking of google, has everybody played with the star trek google doodle today?
hi dan... no I haven't. How do I do that?
Hi dan - didn;t know there was a star trek doodle
Glant, if you ever want a step by step guide, just email me :)
I think i have a book soemwhere but I don;t have all the equipment - a deckle
what is a deckle?
I thought that was what you called the large frame that you lay your pulp on?
lol I wouldn't know how to call it in english, you are no doubt right. It is easy to make. You need a wooden rectangular frame with metal or plastic ... what is it called... the stuff you have in open windows to keep the flies etc out?
gauze?
i know what you mean but don;t know the name either - mesh? but it's hard to get the metal kind here because we don;t have the screens on our windows
Didn't know you could use plastic - how fine does it need to be?
ah ok... well you can use the plastic kind as well. We did, today. You can tack it on the wooden frame with ... thumb tacks? From plastic it is even easier to collect, once it is dry.
rather fine. Like 1 mm holes.
i thought the plastic might have advantages (easier cleaning, no rust etc) but I have no idea where I would get it
i must google paper making supplies
so does your nettle paper have nettle leaves as inclusions od does the nettle make the paper itself?
and what colour os the paper?
yeah... or maybe try 'horregaas' and see if any du5 mesh maker will send it oversea for a reasonable price.
I guess you could insert a bit of the leaves if you wanted, but you make the paper from the stems. And after drying in the sun, the paper is a surprising white.
just email me if you want to get the whole process step by step, it is fresh in my memory :D
interesting. Nettle fibes are strong, they are made into fabric and have been for centuries
is your email in your profile sprite?
yes, it is :)
at the bottom
i think the modern name for the fabric is ramie
oh wow. Never would have thought of that. Will try to remember.
I have emailed you :-)
great! Will answer tomorrow, 3 more words and I am off to bed, am very tired (whole day of therapy). Tomorrow ok?
remember all those fairy tales where the girl was put in a tower and had to spin nettles into cloth? rumpelstiltskin might have been one
tomorrow is fine, thanks sprite
ok :)
and there they are... who'd have thought there would be th words today, lol!
have you finished?
yes, fireflies! A very good night all, see you tomorrow.
congratulations
nos da
thanks! *poof*
fireworks
and *poof*
yaa for glant!!
hi crossy *unpoof*
howdy:))
a fast day or a non fast day?
fast day
already had my alloted 500 cals
and, is a non fast da a slow day :-
i thought men could have 600
makes no nevermind.i would be just as hungry after 600 as i am after 500.it is just something to keep metabolism going anyways
I made an ionteresting low calorie soup today - called armenian soup - strange mixture of potato, red lentils, onion and apricots - with stock and parsley and cumin
ill have a cracker later;)
sounds different
how do you deal with the hnger - is it just a matter of telling yourself you can eat whatever you like tomorrow?
many good off the shelf soups fall easily within the 500 call total
exactly.i am thinking on tomorrows food
my soup tasted MUCH better than it sounds
I think I will aim to start this at the begi ning of October - I am off to visit my daughter in Cyprus at the end of next week
I think I will aim to start this at the begi ning of October - I am off to visit my daughter in Cyprus at the end of next week
tomorrow is roast pork with all the trimming and my famous home made yorkshire pudding all with rich gravy and dutch crumble apple pie
and i will eat whatever she gives me LOL
oh, that sounds wonderful crossy
my yorkie puds would bring a tear to yer eye;)
although i have never had yorkshire pudding woth anything other than roast beef or sausages :-)
do you make small yorkshires or one large one (2-3" or 9"+)
i use muffin tins for mine
anybody's yorkshire's bring a tear to my eye - except 'Aunt Bessie's'
bigger trays for toad in the hole and the like
small ones then - yum - my favourite, especially if they are cooked in beef dripping
i have never made toad in the hole - bit frightened of it LOL
if i go all traditional i used held back bacon drippings
get the pans nice and hot
never thought of uing bacon drippings
or peanut oil as it has a very high smoke point
mainly bcause most of our bacon is so pumped full of water that the drippings are full of that horrid white stuff
never thought of peanut oil either - good idea
up just lightly grease muffin tins with it.pre heat empty pans and add room tem yorkie batter
get the over nice and hot 450-500 f
and they will puff up beautifully
i always keep a small jar of peanut oil and a small jar of virgin oliv oil for cooking, extra virgin olive oil for salads as it has a lower smoke point
i usually have canola, chinese sesame, evoo, light oo, peanut, coconut, palm, and corn oils on hand.
wow
i cook a lot, :)
i like to grease muffin tins with palm oil, for example -- nice crisp crust, but no change in flavor.
Today's Google doodle really pleases me.
it's inspired...
ah, happy days... no, that was another show...
last ec4/6??? thought echt, but babble says "no"...
when sound comes back, sajarn

:P
oh wow..good for you cos...i can only hope. I never finish the grid, just do it a little here and there.
I have an addictive personality so... its like I NEED to finish lol
i dont use the lists though, but I do ask for clues in the log sometimes :)
Step 1: Came to realize that we were powerless over finishing the grid, and our lives had become unmanageable.
if i ddint use the list i prob wouldnt finish.. would make it more challening
who wants a manageable life?
unmanageable? nah.
i have used the list once or twice, but usually im not on here long enough to go through the trouble of putting all the words in, and all that
That's funny Dorens. I know a lot of drunks who said the same thing for years. : D
fortunately, i don't seem to have an addictive personality when it comes to drinking, drugs or gambling. just this darned game!!!
actually, there isn't any real scientific basis in the construct "addictive personality." not that anyone needs to know that.
interesting, kap, and something I have long suspected myself
You don't need me to just drop that on you after days of not calling, not writing...
No scientific basis, but lots of people who can't do things in a non-addicted way.
:)
ok cant find the te5/12 feeling stupid
Love your icon, Molly.
frequent bablet cos. three vowels in the middle
te + double vowel + consonant

Jilly, question about the HCG diet. Does it require that you take an ice bath every morning?
HCG diet?
Injections of human chorionic gonadotropin plus a 500 calorie a day diet.
never heard of it
will google it
2nd ac6/24 pls
nm
LOL...sorry Mols...stepped away for a moment. No ice bath...
fw, now going to look up HCG diet
I didn't think so. Someone told me that today and I looked at them like they were nuts.
Peri...warning, very controversial and the tests show that the drops one can get on iinternet are dangerous. I went through a naturopath for my injections..
It's so sad that people believe whatever they read on the internet.
hi all!
Dr Oz was originally very against it, then he did a trial. The control group was to just eat 500 calories/day with saline injections, the test group had the 500 calories with the HCG injections. Both groups lost the same amount. The difference was the control group lost muscle, the hcg didn't.
Hi uusue
hi jilly!
bit of warning for those considering this diet....
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hcg-d iet/an02091
hi crossy!
suze!!
lol,i do not see the other sue on much anymore so i imagine i can dispense with using "suze" now
:-) whatever - you're the only one who calls me that so it's kind of special
I looked into it when a local MD that I respect discussed it as an option. Thoroughly researched it and like I said, utilized a naturopath that was also recommended by that MD.
did you try it, jilly?
just want our jilly nice and healthy:)
That's how I lost the 81#....
Jilly, that is the smart way to go about choosing a diet.
A few MD's I work with have changed their mind on it...
hard for me to imagine being able to stick to 500 cal/day...
But again, like any diet, need health practioner oversight AND you must change your ways or you gain it back
Changed their minds in favor or against?
LOL...that's the great thing about it, you really don't have hunger, now cravings, yes...but not any worse than any other diet
And yes Mols, for it
It's been almost a year since I finished. I admit, I have 7 # on but have been able keep any more off
well, you look great, jilly!
Thanks uusue! You can still see my fat photos on my facebook account...LOL
I also had the naturopath recommend using B12 as the mix agent for the hcg rather than saline. I thing that helped my energy
Physician oversight is so important for any diet that drastically reduces your calorie intake. Especially for people of "a certain age" (to be delicate) : D
A couple other nurses I work with did it, but all 3 have gained back and then some. I bought the book and followed it to the letter.
Maybe it was just the right time for me
Sadly, I know people who have had gastric bypass and gained all the weight back. You have to make it a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix.
Amen sista!!
me too, molly - no matter what, you have to eat less and exercise more.
And, speaking of "women of a certain age" one HUGE bene was that I had NO hotflashes when on the injections!!!
I have started exercising again, so that is something...
<--- is past hot flashed
*flashes
Good for you uusue!
I still have hot flashes after 5 years.
And I have my trail mix for those times I need to munch rather than simple cargs
I am 54, been past menopause for 6 years...still have flashes...*sigh*
anyway thanks to the chat and lickety I have nbt but am still looking for the 8
Dr. said I may have them forever. They are mostly not a problem.
ma6/55...can clue if need be
ma8,55 has 4 vowels in the middle.
and ends with a neurological condition
good grief, what does it do with them all?
*looking*
co6 pls?
To revise a document with someone
second person reviewing a document TO
ok, got the 8, thanks to you all and morewords!
ty
OK...bbs...gotta take a break...
pe5/12?
small, TO
usually has an e on the end
ty and bye all!
Hi there, y'all. Does the ma8 contain the ma4 above it? Thanks
No Pe5 it doesn't.
Thanks much, Molly.
as far as I can tell the ma5 contains no recognizable constituents whatsoever.
ma8...m + French goodbye without the D + facial spasm
Neighbor came to walk the dog.....sorry, I'm still looking. I have three french words for "goodbye" but so far, I haven't put them together.
oh, good lord, just heard that a big white supremacist conference is taking place in east TN next weekend, including David Duke . . . groan
Oh, dear God, Unea! I had forgotten that David Duke is still in the world. How awful.
wretched . . .
Molly, thanks so much....I'm still trying.
I need chocolate badly.
phone.....brb
ma + ad*** is French for goodbye + facial spasm
hey, molly
Unfortunately, there is a resurgence of white supremacist groups now that re-election is at hand.
unfortunately, in TN there's a constant presence, esp. in the eastern part of the state :-(
That is sad Une. I read that there has been a "call to arms" among these hate groups to try and defeat re-election.
reports from southern poverty law center are scary and getting scarier
their current count in TN is 39 active hate groups . . .
It's beyond me how people can let hate consume their lives like that.
yep . . . apparently it's a nasty combo of poverty, resentment, ignorance, and general family upbringing . . .
One of the saddest things I've ever seen is a clip of a five-year-old on a talk show saying "I hate n****** "
i don't know which is scarier, overt racism like that example . . . or racism boiling beneath a veneer of education and acceptable behavior . . . there's an awful lot of that around
can't we all just get along?
hey, shirl ;-)
Apparently not Shirl. : (
te6/27?
last 2 words . . . te5/12 and te6/27 . . . help please?

Hello Jil

hi girlie...yep grid a pain today, but once I got going it went pretty fast...except for ma8/55...that was not fun...
heh, I am struggling with the 6's Jilly
gite
and attempting to put nonsense words in as well
I always go for nbt and nbs, so the 8 (being only one) had to be dealt with right off the bat....let me know if you need any clues
I'm back. Thanks for that ma 8.
will do, only 63 in, heh
I'll take a clue for the ma8 please :)
ma+3 vowels +ending with a neurologic condition

What's up at Jilly's place tonight? Still smokey?
MUCH better today, wished I could have been outside more...looks like it'll be back to smokey hell soon...
And how is mols?
Not bad. Glad it's the weekend. Nice to hear you got a breath of fresh air. Sorry it was so brief.
As much as I would like a few more weeks to get produce from garden, I think the best thing that could happen is a snowfall...(remind me I said that later)
bite your tongue, Jilly!
y'all need some of the rain we got yesterday to help put out the fires.
Ah but dawg...we gotta get that Mustang fire out!! We dyin here...
I don't think rain will be enough :(
i know a good snow would be helpful, but i have too many tomatoes that are green!
Oh gak, I'm not mean enough to remind you that you said something so horrid.
Some idiot on TV actually said "Well, us Montanans are used to smoke in the summer" Well, I am sorry..I grew up and spent all my summers in MT, and until about 15 years ago, there were NOT summers filled with smoke..
*steps off soap box*
*Applauds*
i agree, Jilly. that yahoo obviously hasn't been here long.
*refrains from making comment on global warming*
ahh, the inconvenient truth...;-)

Is Al Gore smoking in Montana again?
What stid mama is an ed****** (teacher)
OUCH...pb for me!!

hi stiddy
should I start this grid?
you'll have it done in no time, stiddy
okay *SPLASH*
*Commends Jilly on her effort to keep the chat free of grid words*
Yep, it looked dismall at first, but went really quickly. Very twisty however (proofread to avoid pb this time)
welp, got another o'dark early rising so must head for the pillows. have fun with the grid, hope to see you all sometime tomorrow.
sweet dreams LBD (((hugs)))
first ac 6-24?
NIters dawg...I'm heading into Missoula tomorrow for a conference....
*Makes LBD an honorary Irish woman for her frequent use of o'dark*
ac + assistant spelled backwards
add two vowels to the ac4 before it
ac+ encylclop***
*bad speller award*
thank you molly and jilly
It's raining clues, halleluiah
*would rather have it raining men*

AC is what we needed around here today, apparently hit 90 in Seattle (not quite so warm further south)
She's a wild one. Mr. Jilly better stay ever attentive.
not the ac word, just a/c *sigh* clearly I should not eat a sandwich while babbling
HE's reading his kindle right now...
Fire up big guy fire up! *giggles*
It all starts so simply. As the husband reads his Kindle, saucy wife entertains lusty thoughts of other men.
Never other men....
...mumbles .. gutter... mumbles...
*Pulling ruru up*
Ru, feel free to speak your mind. If people don't like it, they CAN REPORT YOU. : P
I will have NO ONE judge me...
Always the comic, you.
ROFL
judging from your attitude, someone woke up on the wrong side of the vinyard today... *wicked mama grin*
ACtually, it was pain from biting his tongue....
sorry stid.. it's just that some people here forget that this puzzle is a game, and it's fun, and people are here to laugh and have a good time.
Woe is me. This place would be so much better if it weren't for the bad seeds.
bah! humbug! no games allowed. work work work *purposeful mama look*
And on a Friday, that humor is greatly needed and appreciated!
Yes, much more than the Puritan ethic.

One needs a hebrew or arabic view with this grid...
oh! jilly -- you being a nurse. I am researching trigeminal neuralgia... looking for diagnostic criteria and treatments. WebMD or Mayo, or ... ?
I suppose I should get out of my gym clothes and get through the shower

*Reverts back to kitty/puppy talk* *Yawn*
LOL
Yummy Yummy Yummy in my Tummy Tummy Tummy...
Or flowers. Flowers are always safe and happy-happy talk.
wow. thanks for the NIH idea, jilly -- found a marvelous PA from 2003 about how the pain is generated in various issues related to trigeminal nerve malfunctions. It is really helping me get a handle on it (family history).
Second day Mols offers me flowers...
Peace, love and understanding Jilly. It's all fluffy in here now.
Great Stiddy!! My grandpa suffered from it. He stopped eating, chewing was too painful...
Mitt Romney, a teacher, and a mechanic walk into a donut shop ...
My grandmother (and one of her daughters) had it, Nana was so bad she would go more than a week not eating or drinking and she was very small to begin with. And then I have the migraines...
hey tor
Heyas kids ..
*waitng punch line* Hi torgone
So trigeminal nerve pain is pretty clearly in the gene pool. Now it seems one of my kiddos is having trigeminal issues, too. *very bad/sad mama look*
The all have donuts then they go buy puppies and kittens and flowers ..
the budgies are scattering their birdseed all over the dining room *sigh*
Yep, mine keep complaining about thier gene issues...
oh oh, and then what, tor?
Tor, how do I love thee, let me count the ways.
Now where's ruru?
He's at a coffee shop waiting for Mitt, the teacher and the mechanic to show up.
*laughing*
Mitt wouldn't drink coffee.... but anyway. now what, tor???
You tried Tor, you tried.
There's a political punchline, but I opted out to keep things light ..
kittens eat the flowers, puppies eat the kittens, and the zombies rule the world?
That's about right stid!
*sits on roof with AK-1000 and eats granola bars while waiting for zombies*
How do you get a drummer off your porch?
hm. a band joke. I might "get" this one... you hide the booze in the garage?
*waiting*
Pay for the pizza ..
LOL
rofl!!!
wow. I am actually down to 37.
When I grow up, I want to be smart again. Like I was when I was a teenager. Before I stopped knowing it all.
I solved that a long time ago...I never grew up
<---not sure what growing up is
Nice move Tor. The drummer jokes seem to be working.
What do you call a drummer who doesn't have a girlfriend?
okay, I looked this one up, because my kiddo's a tbone player: What is the dynamic range of the bass trombone?
drummer without a girlfriend... hm. *thinking*
Homeless!!
*ding*ding*ding* Molly!
oooh Molly! well done!
WTG Mols!!
I know all the musician jokes. Was married to one and dated several.

Good one stid

*groan* ruru's fine, I can tell!
*wondering if any of molly's dates were "horn-y"
: D
*big groan*
Molly would never hit a sour note....

I was drinking G&Ts long before that author was born!
Jilly was drinking G& T out of bottles with nipples on them
LOL...there's my ruru!!
G&T are not the letters that author is into
Let me guess...BDSM?
