I made the kid I tutor "stay after school" yesterday for 20 minutes since he wasted so much of my time fooling around all morning. He was not impressed either but he turned on the juice in overtime and we left friends. It is life.
Problem is, cross -- that I go to sleep HOURS before he does. And his father while agreeing that the games are not optimal does not proactively support better decision-making.

yesterday during a dry moment I climbed on the roof and cleaned out the gutters. I have all the garden supplies under cover, and now just have to wait for a dry day to begin pruning the fruit trees. First year I have felt "ready" for the autumn!
Yes, we are finally getting rain but not as much as the west coast. They have a weather warning because so much will come down they could get landslides or flooding.

I saw some fishermen with poles on a local creek yesterday -- non-tribal members have to use poles during the run, and of course the poor fish really aren't interested in eating much by this point. I am glad the tides have been high to ease the journey into the creeks at least.
those were HIS decisions. If he doesn't learn that he can't do that without stressing himself when he is young, he will have to learn it when he lives alone and has a job. There will be worse consequences then. It is all relative. Relax and let him find his way. You know that he has a good heart and will not get lost. Have faith

My Tom's parents never visit anymore. I have stopped inviting them, he doesn't think to, and when I suggest he go see them (other side of the state) he never does.
LOL! We do like the pops concerts, and an afternoon one sounds lovely. We will scheme and make it happen :) I have to leave again soon to go back to Beloved. We're collecting signatures to keep our local police force. This will be the first time his parents have come to visit us in 8+ years.

my beloved lost her father just over a year ago att77 years of age.m.i.l is 75 and on O2 24/6 both of them were 60 year smokers.we visit.time is short and you never know what will be a week or a month from now

We stayed 5 nights in Honolulu but we took a day trip to the Big Island to tour the volcanos and then spent 6 nights on Maui.
we're on Maui now and were on Kauai last week. Big difference between Honolulu and Maui
When I went to Hawaii, I didn't know about nenes yet so I do not know if I saw one one or not. I did see peacocks.
We loved everything about it except the plane flights.
peacocks are beautiful birds. There are wild chickens all over Kauai and you get woken up in the mornings by the roosters

We flew from Boston and stayed over for a couple of nights in San Francisco on the way out.
good idea, wht. We didn't have a direct flight which I preferred but only a 3 hr. layover in LA
Flew pretty much straight back. I am not sure how long it was, except we left in the afternoon and it was morning when we landed.
We had a layover in San Francisco which was about long enough for us to have dinner.

Sorry, but I have to say it. Several hours ago, one person made one comment that rubbed the wrong way. I get it. But I don't get why we should still be dwelling on it. It just seems like it keeps the drama going way past its useful life. Personally, I like the game, I like the chat, I like the people. If someone makes me mad, I'll tell them, but move on. I might not chat with them as much later, but that's my business alone. Can't we just keep things more positive?
