the vet told me to switch marty to wet food and that he should eat ~3 oz twice a day, but he can have a little more if he's begging for it, because he has a large frame. i'm lucky if i can get him to eat 3 oz total in a whole day! i'm like, you don't understand, he will never beg for food. love, yes. food, no.

I found out (too late) that dry cat food is not the best thing.
but apparently most dry food makers add some special coating that can be addictive and that's why some animals like it better.

I've bought cat grass for mine...it is oat grass
hair cannot be digested and cats ingest a lot of hairs because of their grooming habit. So they need to get rid of the hairballs... that is why.

when I lived in Hawaii, there was an earthquake and I was on the 17th floor of the building I lived in. The building was on rollers, so the whole thing was swaying back and forth. Last night, a box fell and my desk shook, so it was cool and much less scary.
I think I would be really scared in an earthquake. I have trouble keeping both feet on the ground and feeling grounded already without a quake!
If had not been at my desk, I wouldn't have noticed it.

I was out on my screen porch so probably didnt get the full effect...but definitely felt the rumble that lasted several seconds...I thought my washer was out of balance and banging for my extra load of towels...lol!

I am really busy these days, too -- subbed in a reading classroom today, LOVED it (of course) and tomorrow an afternoon in 4th grade. Taking Friday off... working four days next week.

grands are doing fine. K is having a tough time with recess behavior though. to used to being a rough and tumble boy and can't be that way at school. J got a part in the chorus for the Wizard of Oz at her school. I think "new" granddaughter is doing well, no reports otherwise from kindergarten up there!
a dear friend had a death in the extended-but-close family, so I will be helping four days in that classroom while she goes home.

I had a K today whose body was not big enough to hold the energy, also didn't have much awareness of how one's actions affect the wellbeing of others.
I understood, but surgery is stressful for everyone.
I just "sat" on child and kept redirecting. Fortunately in a reading intervention room everything is in smaller chunks.
our K is definitely not to little to hold all his energy--he may be a clone of his dad but he's already built like a football linebacker!
:-) I have kids like that in some of the middle schools, they are generally wonderful to work with!
I'm still struggling with our reading intervention curriculum. It's tough being handed a teachers manual and being told (in a sense) "have at it!"
yes -- do you have discretion for how much of it to use? You have so much experience it would be reasonable (imho) to let you use it as guidelines and less as a "code" <-- proud of pirates reference
sort of, program is "scripted". I have the "high" of the below grade level kids and so it's not as difficult to get through things. I do skip some items because their attention/focus just won't benefit---instead of using the "write on/wipe off" boards we use our fingers to determine how many sounds in a work; I write things on a small white board and make changes so that all are focused on task and not wanting to draw
Yes, scripted programs ensure you don't leave things out, but fidelity can be dreary. I am glad you have some latitude.
