I am so glad about it grannyrose. One of my colleagues had a fall accident when nursing (which she then gave up cos they didnt offer gradual return) and later had a related accident in our work which led to a local court case to get compensation (she won!).

I do have some -- the surgeon doesn't think it does much good, but we'll see.

the ot5 product you could try is vitamin E oil. it would be easier to apply in the early days.

I believe so - I only used the descaling once
of course. Vinegar worked perfectly for ages before the special mixes were developed. Just run it through, repeat if necessary, and make sure to run through clean water a couple of times before making coffee.
I use about 50/50 then run a pot of plain water

i was reading advice online about how to increase a cat's appetite. they suggested a little catnip. marty licked up the catnip but it didn't make him eat more food! lol
why is he eating poorly?
the vet said to switch him to wet food. with dry he would graze all day. with wet he just has set meals, and i think he doesn't eat as much that way.
however, i'm to give it a couple of weeks because he may get used to the new system and eat more. i think he has been possibly eating SLIGHTLY more each day so this is plausible at least.
hope it works.
well he also may just not need as much food as some cats, have a low metabolism. he's just never been very into food. and the vet did say it was not his thyroid and in fact that his levels of that were on the low side of the normal range.
but yes, thank you for the good wishes. :)
so he is a skinny kitty.
yes, he has been 9.5 lbs (on a largish frame) most of his adult life. the reason i called the vet was because i discovered he'd lost a pound.

hurshy, is Marty drinking more water than usual?
and he had no other symptoms, no change in energy level, no change in any behavior. not drinking more water. he's always LOVED water and drinks lots.
One of my cats (when I had cats) lost weight and started drinking much more water than he usually did and it was a kidney problem. I am happy to read that Marty has energy and not losing lots of weight.

yeah she tested his blood and found slight elevation in some kidney things. then she tested his urine to see what that showed and she said not much kidney damage. so that is why just the switch to wet food. i'm also to try giving him chicken broth. and pepsid.

Our boys termed it "a religious experience" when hubby would do the ceremony...get out the album (still has them all!), set it on the turntable, start the turntable, place three drops of record cleaner on the cleaner, then rotate the bar lovinbly over the record, then gently set the arm down....LOL

We had custom cabinets made so he could store his albums and we still keep a turntable! Makes me chuckle when a few 'youngesters' tell me they are "into vinyl".

I was surprised today by how many people did not get the vet author clue. I thought those books were more well known than they seem to be here.
i don't use a spray, it's an odor absorbing product, you put the book and the deodorizer in a box and leave 'em in there for a month. (works like kitty litter)

no! never use brasso,use a mild clenser then shellac the rock for that nice forever sheen
saanich, i do indeed. it's an ordinary box, but it has book deodorizer in it. you can get some at bookdeodorizer dot com. or you can use odor-absorbing kitty litter
my pet will not be disrespected with a coat of shellac
the box doesn't have to be air-tight, but some dealers use air-tight box, or an old cooler, or an old refrigerator
i just use a wooden box

lastly, when handling mildewed books, i recommend gloves, and don't breathe in too close to the books, because there are some rare strains that can make you quite ill

you can remove most mildew (assuming it's dry and dead) with a clean dry paper napkin. then throw out the napkin. do not re-use the napkin.

Thanks so much Gwen. I already threw out thousands of books which needed to go anyway. I saved many more in air-tight cartons for future cleaning. I have a problem in the laundry room which because of no smell went unnoticed for years, then I move some cartons of books in the room next to laundry and Bingo - the kind of unwelcome surprise.So you can see why I am so grateful!

hehe,i have no livingroom.now i have 2 sets of comfy wingback chairs with small tables tween them surrounded by books,a computer desk in one corner and one of those loveseats in another with a flat screen tv tacked to the wall.more library than livingroom,but comfy and cosy and inviting

It's a recent treatment for books and also musical instruments. It's a bigger version of your box - conatiner large enough to hold the object (pianos to books) and filled with ozone, don't know how long it takes and that's all I know about it.

We had such a lovely fall day today, I got off work early and actually got to enjoy it.
Lucky you. I gave up work with early retirement 4 years ago, when we moved to Aus! No regrets there and lots of sympathy for those still working.
I don't know which is worse, to have the flip at 1:00 am, or in the middle of the afternoon.either way there is something else you should be doing
