I can't believe I got jumped on for suggesting that NB wouldn't want to see all the drama that was being generated - in other words, they started a fight with me over suggesting we not fuss and fight! I must have been a serious threat to their desire for drama, lol!
I also got a lot of flack, when I suggested arguing over who was the first to hear of his death, was not the way to honor a friend. JC wrote a really nasty email to me, told me it was not my place to police the chog, I'm not the boss.

Before that, JC and his partner kept emailing me to 'friend' them on some site. I told them, I don't do facebook, or whatever, but I received about six emails between them. Just wouldn't let go, nor take NO! for an answer. Felt they were getting a dime for every persson they signed-up.
I just try to avoid interaction of any type with the pushy people, and now to find out that most of them were likely all the same person - it boggles the mind, lol

Did you get emails? He'd tell me about the house he bought - belonged to Noel Coward or someone famous, the letters he'd received from various 'stars' and things he collected from the famous. Apparently, if the person was known, and gay, that was enough for JC to go after his bathrobe and slippers.
I don't like it when people call others by their real names instead of their babble names, it's just creepy somehow. implying they know more than the rest of us...

the world has changed but sometimes it does not change quickly enough. at our place, the folks who most resembled those in power werethe rising stars.
Kids don't think ahead to what employers might see - photos and postings! They don't realise that everything leaves a trace on the internet.

Lizlin; about the time I was finally getting my head around the idea that I WAS retired; I went to a board of nursing meeting and realized I missed being involved. Then the same week the ED from my old job asked me if I could come back as Nurse Manager and oversee the program. Which led to my working 40+ hours a week for 4 months.... (I'm not good at this retirement stuff)

Well, I suppose mine came with the move to a new country - get such enjoyment out of walking on the beach and really just being in a totally new environment.

Well, Sue, what happened is I had a hip replacement last year and was also caring for DH's dear Aunty who was dying of heart failure. Then I'm executor of her estate (which isn't much; but it took a while) and then all her stuff coming here after she died (remember the fire?) Etc. etc., etc...
we do not have social security so am not bound to 66 as retirement age.
I do remember all that (well, not all the details but that you had a lot going on)

min, I had a GOOD day -- slept "in" for a change, made it almost to 8 in the morning! LOL drove out three times, twice in one direction (picking up kid's trombone and going shopping later) and once in the other (spent two hours at the school getting ready for tomorrow -- with Tom's amazing tech help!).
I am down to 37, but I don't think I will go listless tonight min... I am pretty tired.

On big event days, there are always breakdowns and delays. One 4th of July, a friend and i got separated from the rest of our party, sat on the platform and played gin for a while, about 45 min later got on a train, and were only two trains behind the rest of our party arriving at destination.

day went well.. except for getting stalled on metro and missing the parade... although I did get hit on by a hot boy in the metro.
