Sleep well flosey :)
Hi Sarah
nite flosey xx
:)
oh, hi sarah, nice to see you
hi liz how are you x
see you tomorrow night
Good thanks. Great to read how the no smoking and the weight loss is going x
am so pleased with myself :) and i treated myself i had hair cut yesterday :) x
Makes you feel so much better about yourself :)
it do liz and got paint for in here and got new carpet to :)
That's brill. Bout time things went well for you :)
it is but had moan at school again same boy picking on amie again :(
That's such a shame. Is Amie strong enough to put on a brave face at school and make a joke of it with her friends even if that's not what she really feels?
no hun as it about her size she small for age :(
All the best people are small! But it's hard, for a kid. I guess she knows things like good things come in small packages!
i tell her that all the time
It'd be great if she could just say that to him whenever he bullied her, then just walk away.
i know but hard to do that x
If she could do it just once, it MIGHT make her feel better about herself, especially if she then walked away but I know it's hard.
the head at school is talking to boy again today i did tell her she better sort it this time as i am now sick of this boy picking on amie and did tell her if happen again going above her head x
Glad you're taking a strong stand. Good luck. Bullying just shouldn't be tolerated by the school.
i did say to head yesterday when she called me how would you feel if was your child and she said i not be happy
Too true!
bbl x
hello again, tired but can't sleep
mind going around in circles
maybe I'll get these last 7 words
Good luck flosey :)
Bye Sarah x
thanks Liz, I'd rather get some sleep, but no good lying there wide awake
I know what you mean but perhaps the words are just playing on your mind!
ah, just missed Sarah, such a sweet lady
Having such a tough time with amie but doing so well with not smoking and weight loss :)
yes, great courage, in spite of being worried about amie
can't get this mi6, do you have any clues?
I wish. I've come to a halt with 60 left!
mi6/27 - a delicate French word. Think filet mi****.
ah, would never have thought of that, thanks Haz
Ty haz :)
You're welcome. And hello!
yes, hello Haz, don't very often see you
Me neither. Good morning to you :)
Hello, flosey, I'm usually on after you head to bed.
well I did tonight, didn't work, too much whirling around in my head
It's frustrating when you want to sleep and can't.
yes, best thing to do is just get up again, took half a sleeping pill and will try again when/if that kicks in
Hopefully it'll work soon - does it leave you feeling groggy in the morning?
no, get a good sleep and clear headed in morning
That's good.
Well, I have to go and get ready to go out. I hope you sleep well eventually, flosey. Bye for now!
thanks Haz, have a good day
You too. Bye.
just got last 2, no4 and 5 - monkeyed them almost every way possible
so it's fireworks, and goodnight again
good mornlng, please can anyone clue the 7s
good morning all
Hello
phantom: skimmington
hi BabbleRabble, sorry, I got distracted by email. Glad to see you! And *grin* at your phantom. You know that now I have to look up the meaning, don't you?
Interesting word but perhaps an activity some might not embrace.
ah, to ride the skimmington... indeed interesting, but not something I'd like to do... or have my love doing, for that matter.
I am sorry I hurt your feelings a couple of days ago, btw. Didn't intend to, but I hope you know that.
You did not.
ok... am glad. Would never do that intentionally.
I am very unwell now. Anger easily. Looking for the off button ... oblivion .... maybe a sip from the river lethe.
this grid looks decidedly unflexable. No speed going here.
I don't know all that is giving you a hard time, but the suicide on the forum was bad enough in itself. I really wish I could send you that little sip.
The grid is not so bad ... lots of ing words
really? Ok *kicks brain in gear* I was finding that ending rather disappointing. I must look better.
I guess 6 or so is not lots
but it is more that I had. Thanks.
Hi sprite and br
hi Liz :)
seeing your Tigger always brings a smile to my face
Ty Sprite. I love Winnie the Pooh :)
so do I.
And I think I'm a bit Tiggerish!
nothing wrong with a bit of da Tigger ;)
:)
family of our Tigger is in the grid today
Morning, just over half way through. Don't forget that y, I have used that quite a lot
hi xeiluj, thanks for the pointer. It is slow going here.
hey everybody
hi Rows :)
how's it going?
slow. But fun.
I really don't like A words :(
for some reason, words that start with a vowel are harder to spot for most of us.
yeah... it's a small one
at least for now it's a distraction
May I please have a clue for ar6-24? Thanks
ar + in the center, in between
are you in need of distractions, Rows?
that clue didn't work for me... and yes i am
feeling crappy about work... found out today that i may end up being laid off after this school year, which is hard not to take personally
a ballet movement = ***besque. We are glad to have you in our ****.
especially when i know that a lot of people were judging me a lot when i first was working at this school, and also people know that i don't like changes that they're making to my classes...
aw what a shame, Rows.
anyway
Thanks so much, sprite.
i was going to most likely quit anyway, just feels shitty not to be at least offered a new contract, and i think that another teacher is also quitting anyway so there's not even need for them to lay me off
yvw peach
maybe some other school will suit you better, Rows?
yes i think so
it's just stressful, and i've been working my ass off and doing a great job
I can imagine. Very frustrating.
theoretically, that should mean that i can stay at this job... but no, they don't actually respect the foreign teachers at this school
anyway sorry for going into it so much... thanks for listening
i literally just found out that they may not offer me another contract
Babble is actually a good place to vent your frustration. Lots of people here care enough to listen :)
yeah :) i'm getting that
Sorry to read that Rows
thanks Liz
:) And the distraction of the game is good too... it helps you to not think about it for a little while and allows you to come back to it with a clear mind. I am sorry you got such bad news. And I hope something better will come your way soon.
yeah.. well also now at least i get a break from work
2 weeks break with the exception of working one day next Thursday
Rows, maybe, if this happens, you will be able to find something that you like much better in the long run.
a break is nice.
And maybe you will be appreciated at your next place??
I do understand your frustration.
sure, peach, and i was already going to look for another job anyway cos i wasnt happy with decisions this school was making. it's just stressful to *have* to find another job, and hard not to take it a bit personally
Are there many other teaching jobs around that would suit you?
there are, but it's a bit early to find them at this point i think
though i'd not mind moving away from Shanghai
That is true, Rows.
Well I' m sure it'll work out ok in the end. I thought my world had fallen apart when I had to change schools but I moved and met my hubby. So who knows what's in store?
I think taking it a bit personally is perfectly human. And I think, maybe, with you not liking the way the school is going, their decision just confirms your personal feelings about it.
almost the same thing that happened to me, Liz :) I HAD to accept a job at the builders' union and I SO did not want to work there. But I had to... and met my love there.
yeah... i mean, the thing is, this school is not an international school, though it pretends to be... they're a business through and through. they are not putting the needs of the kids first.
So out of the blue!
i'm a teacher, so the needs of the kids are my #1 priority. i also have an outspoken personality so i'm not going to just keep quiet and do nothing while they make decisions that affect the kids negatively
so if anything, maybe they dont want me around so i don't rock their little boat and make them look and feel bad
Wouldn't want to be at a school that didn't put kids first tho the demands sometimes make that very hard.
looks that way, Rows. They probably feel you will make them lose face... they don't want that.
there's pretty much no way i'd do that. i've lived in China long enough to know better. also i'm a very professional person... i'm not going to talk to the parents about my personal feelings about these changes... i pretend to them like it's all wonderful
but of course, it's all just wasted
You just answered my next question -how long you've been in China?
nothing's ever wasted, Rows. Everything you have given those children will remain.
i've been here almost 1.5 years
and i just mean, it's wasted, the act that i put on for the parents
because it's not like it's helping me keep my job for next year
But it could work against you if you didn't put the act on!
I can understand you feeling hurt
i guess it could... i mean, at this point i should at least still get a nice reference letter
Me too! You put in so much effort!
Always useful
yes, absolutely, a good reference is worth a lot.
well i haven't gotten nothing back as far as experience goes
it has been really good for my own professional development
see? Nothing's ever wasted. At some point in your life you will be glad you learned all this. And right now, it is pretty ok to be hurt and angry. Goes with being human, doesn't it.
yeah
just isn't fun
Yup!
i'd like to go out and get a drink with some friends... but i'm not sure it's gonna happen tonight
So it can only get better -I hope
Phone them and make it happen!
it will keep... maybe some other day soon
i don't have a lot of friends who are in town / available to go out
in the worst case, go home with a nice bottle of wine and come back to babble. You can have a virtual party and relax a bit that way.
Difficult to make friends when you move to a new place!
hehe true :)
that may be what i end up doing actually
Liz, friends are something difficult to really have in China anyway... or any foreign country for that matter
people come and go so often
my best friend in Shanghai moved away this month
back to the UK
fireflies. Tricky little grid. But fun.
I understand that - I've only been here 4 years. My sis in law was an ex pat in Malaysia and Thailand.
congrats!
Congrats sprite :)
I have to go... *hugs* to you all and a ray of sunshine for Rows and for BabbleRabble. Take care.
Enjoy your day :)
thanks, sprite! ray of sunshine to you too *hugs*
Liz, where are you from originally?
London
ah okay
so you find that people in Australia move in and out a lot?
And you?
i'm from the US
Not so much the moving - I'm here permanently but being in my 50s most people already have friendship groups and although we have friends, it's not like the friends you grow up with.
Actually the people we've met have been very friendly.
ah i see
well it looks like i will get to go out tonight with a friend
Nite my peeps.....going to try to sleep once again.
goodnight peach :)
My sis in law always said that locals didn't want to invest too much effort into making friends with wax pats because they move on.
Sleep well Peach :)
yeah... well it's even harder to make friends with locals in China
there are pretty big cultural differences and a language barrier
so almost all my friends here are expats
I can believe it - getting over the language barrier must be hard. And the culture is so different.
Great minds!
haha yep
Got to go for now. Enjoy your evening. Se you soon :)
okay, take care!
Hello :)
Hello, checking in on a rainy rainy day in my part of the world.
hi Mich, raining hard down here too - as well as bushfires out of control up the bush
hi Smores
That's scary. How close is that to you?

accompanied by a tap dance
lol - why not
Wind Chill-31°F (-35°C)
brrrr - its chilly here tonight after a rain storm passed over but nothing like that
I keep wanting to enter enjoy
31 below, I cannot imagine that
BR, are you out in your hammock?
the advantages of being in a city, all that pollution keeps the warmth in
pollution does have its advantages
...and who wants to see stars anyway
No ... the wind is really gusting and I need more sun screen
no hammock today then
Not unless I figure out a way to put a seat belt on the hammock.
LOL
Good morning / evening everyone :)
morning, smores :)
hi Smores

Oh scrabbs, poo on headache. very windy and rainy here too
Hope you can ward it off
But my on-call night is almost over--officially in 50 minutes.
They are easy and quick to make Annie...I just use small muffin tray (there are specific friand pans but..)
lynxxx, do you have a recipe for friands?

Mother Nature must have a bad case of the vapors.

Hi BR. How are you?

I am having the same problem, smores.

More time to work on the ys
I also tried that!
I was monkeying away with the J and then looked at tile stats ... lol

Pretty user friendly grids
The recipe is there now Annie - enjoy
hi Liz and Une
ooo....thanks lynxxx
then more time for the o words
Hi Lyn :)
yum -- sounds great, lynxxx!
Sounds yummy :)
lynxxx, thank you very much. I will open it later. My computer is so slow it takes forever to open. will print it out.
annie, is the elevator still out?
I do not think I have seen a grid before where there are more a's than any other letter.
Une, elevator came back on an hour later so we were able to visit my friend.
YAY for working elevators! LOL
That's great Annie :)
me either BR, or one with 2 o's and no o words...odd
I must get ready for work. I have to bring garbage and recyclables out to end of driveway first. Enjoy the day, everyone!
back in a bit -- taking pups out for morning pee *poof*
bye, scrabs!
bye Scrabbs
bye scrabbs
Enjoy the walk, Scrabbs :)
Bye Scrabbler...hope you have a good day :)
Why does the letter A look like a flower? Because Bs like flowers.
*groan*

Hi lbd :)

Hey lbd :)
Hello, lb. Yes. Nice and warm.

Bye Liz ...enjoy yourevening :)
phantom: juglandaceous

hi Dawg
wow BR..makes my little phantoms look pathetic :)
BRB
Erica & Al are here
Good morning everyone
hi Wurdy
hi wurdy
Hello, wurdygurl. Do you have a favorite wurdy?
hi Lynxxx, hi wordy
hi, y'all. having trouble finding words here this morn. I blame the high number of words that start with vowels.
a favorite wurdy? lol Probably wouldn't be fit to say in the chog
I am with you hokie
there are about six that end in "ing"
I've been trying to work on that. how many of those 6 are 4 letters?
hi hokie
I have 5 that end in "ing"
Just starting. Wonder how long it would've taken me to realize there's an ing ending? ;)
Hi Champ :)--not long
I have 4, two 4 letter and two 6 letter
thx for the vote of confidence!
alright, gotta go get somebody up for school. later.
hagd!
I did not count the four letter ones
bye hokie
i have 11 with the ing combo
hi champ, bye hokie
gah!!!! I have a ways to go then...
Hi all, i've just come back after a short break and my word list has disappeared.
I was talking about words that end in ing
all told, I have 7 with the gerund ending
That's weird
refresh or reload
I know babble...so far I have 4...
try refreshing, guernsey
I'll give that a go, thanks
Success! I'd never have remembered ehat.i'd already entered. 60 left now
What
what is to be done by nikolai chernyshevsky
.What?
another "ing" ending word
Lenin's real name was Vladimir Illych Ulyanov. He changed it to Lenin while on the run from the secret police to avoid arrest.
but who is n. chernyshevsky?
trotsky, stalin?
That's what i want to know
The author of What Is To Be Done .... Chernyshevsky was one of the revolutionaries during Lenin's time
Perhaps hes the man on br's icon?
trotsky's name reminds of the thrill of diarrhea
Ah, all is now clear. Shame i was too ignorant to be able to pick up the reference, br.
br, you are bad
My boss would tell me to, "Go in peace and sin no more."
good advice
Goodnight everyone
Be well, Lyn
sweet dreams, lynxxxie
Good night
be back soon
Be safe
night night, lynxxx
tadone!! finito. definitely some odd and new words for me. must go get ready for work. hagd everyone.
Congratulations, ibd
Be well, lb
You can lead a man to Congress, but you can't make him think. ~Milton Berle

Hello, Mom.
Mom, how is your Mom and Dad?

Happy Birthday to Mom's Mom!!!
Hi annie, Mom, BR

thanks Medusa, I will tell her
yes, sunny here also but quite windy
BIchon, please correct me if I am wrong did one of the Bichons have an illness or trouble lately?
Between the snow melting and the rain it is sodden out
No, Mom, that was my foster dog Watson [a Shih Tzu]. He was flown to OK for surgery on his leg. Unfortunately the surgery wasn't successful and the leg had to be amputate. but, he is doing well and his OK Mom has adopted him.
great that he is doing well.
I have never had a pet, but I know about Black Dog days.
Sorry that I messed that up but I could only remember you posting about a dog. Bless his heart, so glad he is adopted.
hello babblers
Watson has a way of making everyone around him fall in love with him. We miss him terribly
hi temple owl
((TO)) good morning!!!
Hi TO
you should get a pet babblerabble
amazing how attached we get to the animals
i have 4 young cats and could not be without them
my mom says if daddy passes first she is getting a golden retriever :-)
Everyone should have a pet. You can judge a person by how they treat their pets
hello medusa, bich, annie and ((mom))
then not everyone should have a pet...
hi Owl :)
hi hurshy, marty is in the grid today
Hurshy, good morning. How is dear Marty?
uh oh... this is not doing my pet cravings any good...
Well, I DO have a pet rock.
marty is still doing fine for now, mostly.
That'll do it BR
different
there you go, BR, pet rocks make excellent pets
give him a pat for me. This has to be so difficult for the both of you
TO, what type of pet are you craving?
oh no...toay show has shelter pets on. :(
well, i am still praying for a miracle... but if none happens, it will be hard when he goes. in the meantime i mostly am able to not think about it.
it is a sign, TO, it is a sign
i have always had ats but am thinking perhaps a dog
but too restrictive
marty is in the grid
a dog would be good exercise.
Annie is keeping the kids neat and trim
yes nice to see marty in the grid :)
not to mention unconditional love
*hands over ears* lalalalalala
Hurshy, your next pet should be an elephant or tortoise ... they live a very long time.
but not as furry. i do like elephants, but don't have room for one.
hahaha, TO
*hands over eyes*
time for me to scoot. I wish all of you a great day. ((Hugs))
bye mom. hagd
bye ((Mom)) have a great day today
Be well, Mom
((TO)) & ((Annie)) bye for now. IT will be a great day!
thanks BR, you as well.
hmm, what can come from that second A down besides ai4 and ai6?
Hurshy, the Book of Common Prayer is online. Been reading a bit as a means to save my wretched soul.
ttfn mom
yes, i know it's online, that is a helpful resource.
i'm glad you've found it. of course it's Jesus that does the saving, not the BCP.
2 ai 6/27
ah silly me, thanks!
clue for am 6/24 please
I send my prayers addressed to higher being in the vicinity
Found it! never mind
thanks annie, for letting me know to look for it!

Trees are barely moving today, but the wind was whistling our house last night.
I'm in Morganton NC Hokie and it is still as windy as it was last night!
well, I haven't actually been out, but I don't hear it today. btw, we rented a house on Lake James for a while. Morganton is a nice town!

that's good

<--Did not enjoy a grid with so many A words
and so many obscure words
I've almost come to accept that most words in Babble grids are gibberish that no normal person uses in day to day life.
Just starting and hope to get my hundred words in the foreseeable future.
Hi Gran Mere. What smells good in your kitchen today?
Today we had crab for lunch, Molly. I fixed a thousand island style dressing (mayonnaise, chili sauce, lemon juice, and horseradish along with sweet relish), lettuce, french bread. We spent over an hour at table cracking jokes and crab. Murphy had a taste after we finished and he wants a crab of his own next time. So who will crack his crab?
Being a Maryland girl, I love crabs. And half the fun of eating them is the cracking jokes and crab part. Sounds delicious.
Oh and I will share my crab meat with Murphy any day.
We have a local fish market where the owner's brothers have a crab fishing boat. The owner writes a weekly enewsletter which highlights the fresh fish along with recipes. Absolutely a great saleslady!!
So, here's the plan, Molly. You fly out here, we provide crab, crackers, and pick. Murphy sits next to you and we all have a crabfest.
*Packs crab mallets, crab picks, crab bibs and fixings to make hush puppies. Arranges for cold beer to be delivered.*
Calling the airport transporter to meet your flight. Scurrying back to what we call "the library" to clear off the hide-a-bed and put fresh sheets on the mattress. What time do you like to be called for morning coffee?
di6/30 pls
As soon as it's brewed Gran Mere. Sounds delightful.
di + end of am5/16 (Jaws town)

11 left, struggling even with the list but I will finish
Good for you peri. I just started and I work my way across the grid once before using the list.
I find as many as I can, when I start to get frustrated I go to the list. I am every so thank ful for lickety.
Without lickety I am not likely to finish. With the list, given a small grid, I can finish.
I worked with a women whose name was mi6/27 :)

interesting.i saw a bit on applebees, and the fact that they auto-tip when the bill is being added up.last time i checked a tip was a bit extra for a good meal or good service by your server.when did it become mandatory in the states? i would not frequent a place that TOLD me i was going to tip 18%. what if i told all the guys working for me to add 18% to your credit card bill when you got gas at my station?
Flicker on the lawn using his beak to find snacks.
I never eat at applebees and I never would now. how dare they.
Auto-tip? I would auto delete. Not fair.
i was stunned at the nerve of it

that mi5/20 is my last word and cannot see it in morewords
my thoughts are if you pay your employees so little that they MUST have tips to make a living wage, then maybe you should not be in business
Well, there goes eating at Applebees...I so totally agree with you crossy
and hello all
I agree crossy. but waitstaff here in the states are paid very poorly and depend on tips
howdy jilly
Hello jilly. Waiting for peri to fireworks.
but the tip should not be automatic
seems it is at applebees
how are you feeling, Jilly?
i just monkyed the mi 5/20
Well peri, I still feel it is up to the wait staff to perform and me to judge, and tip their service
I agree Jilly

indeed,that is so annoying
And yet you are Babbling? Good for you habes. Hope your recovery is swift and complete.
if i made 18% on every car i filled up or serviced over the last 30 years,i would be a millionare
Thanks. It went well.
my mrs had cataracts and glass lenses done in both eyes a few years ago.quite the difference eh habes?:))
TIP stands for "to insure performance". It should be an extra, not a given.
indeed,do not use me to bring your employee,s pay cheque up to what it should be in the first place
It's a huge difference. My vision was pretty good to begin with until the cataracts. The past year or so has been pretty miserable. Now I can see again!
i know there is different min wage levels in state for food servers and this also should not be
Not only that but a guaranteed tip does not inspire servers to do their best.
Very pleased to know you already are seeing better!!
but i will get off my soapbox on this for now
Good for you habes...glad it has helped. Cataracts can make life miserable
howdee yawls
yaa for habes! i would be lost without my books
howdy gwen
The results are pretty immediate. But it does take some time to heal. The vision is a little blurred still. I still have one eye to go.
those were some scary looking bacon-wrapped fries . . .
they look beautiful:)
dip those little wonders in a home made zesty dip and you are golden
Hello gwen
cannot be any worse for you than bacon wrapped snails
<----feels her arteries hardening by reading
no, not bacon wrapped snails!! lol
hiya jilly
what if we wrap snails around the french fries?
and then wrap with bacon?
mm,might be a bit much
*super size me*
lol,i thought texans only did that at MC d,s when they wanted the free gun in the happy meal!..lol..sorry
please keep the snails away from the food, thank you
Whenever I make the crunch breadsticks wrapped in bacon and sprinkled with Parmesan, my kids devour them.
*Crunch
snails need food too!
*Crunchy...there
thy wit undoeth me
<---Sees nothing appetizing about eating snails
<---keeps wasting time trying to find words from greyed out letters *sigh*
i got it!!!! what if you force fed snails bacon pate, then you could make escargot-de-foie -gras
Oh molly, good ones are so buttery
buttery snails?
LOL crossy
dippy doo butter gwen
gimme a drumstick with some paprika on it
Well I would think you would need a lot of butter to disguise the slime factor
Dippy doo??
once you cook 'em there's no slime
Tastes okay , but give me scallops over escargo any day
<---wonders why I am hungry?
Scallops, now you're talking
buttered tilapia, yum
give me calamari
mmmm, calamari, lightly battered, deep fried and a dash of sea salt, creacked pepper and a splash of lemon juice
LOL, reminds me of a story...when we first moved into our little villlage, the local market had just opened a fish counter...
Standing there was an older couple whom looked like a chubby version of American Gothic...bib overals and all
So my hubby and i proceed to order some calamari steaks, to which the farmer couple asked What Are Those?
*Hears America The Beautiful playing in the background*
gotta run, something came up, BBL
The counter person said, 'calamari'. No, he said, what ARE they, the counter person then described the taste still he persisted as to what they were, the counter person described how to cook them...
finally and loudly he again asked, NO WHAT ARE THEY...timidly the counter person said "squid'....their faces then became priceless....probably first fish counter they had ever been at...
But watching the counter person do everything they could to avoid saying squid...
And I killed the chog.... ;-(
We think that if there were to be shortages of foods, our family would survive nicely, like the Caliornia Indians who ate everything in season.
Mine too...
i have eaten things that would make a billy goat puke
Chog has been pretty quiet today. Maybe everyone is feeling as gray as our great Northwest skies today.
Wrap it in bacon, crossy.
always do,stidmere,always do
Grey here too... ;(
snow squalls,80 k winds and white outs with blowing and drifting snow..nothing grey here atm
We have had so much gray weather this winter that I am seriously considering a winter trip for next year.
Well, I am going to wander off as I have my 100 words and my eyes are so fuzzy I can't see the chog.
Have a good evening Gran Mere.
hi, folks
Hope your eyes recover...bye stidg
feeling better, jilly?
hi all and ditto, jilly
Amongst the land of the living, now just trying to catch up!
hi, owl
don't catch up too fast or you'll relapse (she says to the nurse)
(phone-bbl)
hi all
LOL...prescription noted welki!
and to catch up...hello TO and jmc
hi welk hi je
anyone want to clue me the ar6/27?
i will start telling all the different things i have eaten. . . last time i did the chog was universally grossed out
The act of giving war guys guns
i oppose ar6/27 teachers
*will NOT
great clues...ty
is this some sort of diet thing, the confesstion of dietary transgressions?
haha no i think it started with escargo
how do you spell dimeing? like nickle and dimeing someone
i ewas craving lasagna ..took ne three days to make it I am o lazy. As I was putting on the top layer I realized I forgot the moots...
oh good, I wouldn't want to have to tell what i eat.
haha you put some kind of cheese in it didn't you TO
Escargo sounds like the luggage compartment of an SUV. I think the snails are escargot.
today for lunch it was two sesame seeds baggles with bacon and jalepeno cream cheese
i am a multi-lingual misspeller
Wee, see and dah
haha
is that bacon and jalapeno cream cheeseor bacon-and-jalapenocream cheese?
i only have about 15 minutes to class
the latter
yes i put in ricotta and parmesan
will be ready in 5 min, it is resting.
well it won't be as melty but it should taste fine
Mozzarella is my favorite part of lasagna.
i never put in that much to begin with. i don't like american style lasagna
when i was a veggie i would make lasagna for the meat eating guests and they never noticed they weren't eating meat
actually i still usually make veggie lasagna
Oh I don't. Mine is chock full of Italian sausage.
isn't there another n in that word?
I like lasagna any way it comes
that sounds tasty too!
haha me too ru
<<-- picked a good time to hang up the phone! food-talk!
Okay...getting too hungry...off to forage, 57 left...bbl

Hey there everyone.

Hi Dorens, how did things go with Lucy? I've been thinking about you.
<----drooling
ooooo bechamel sauce!
:-P--
does that look like drool?
mmmmm .. bechamel sauce - on pastitsio and moussaka
damn is my phantom today
i have to go to the dentist tomorrow for some painful stuff, so we're going out for onion soup and steak sandwiches tonight
oh oh welki

good choice. . . i must go before i short out my key board with drool
does anyone have the di 6/24 please
nothing a few thousand dollars won't cure

*poof*
Thanks much, Saanichat and Molly.
thank you both
hi, peach
bye jm
and saanich
yw!
yay! restaurant time - bye for now!
Peach, you made it through the storms okay?
sorry, molly, stepped away from the computer. Things went ok with Lucy, she died at home at 1:30 Monday morning... I had brought her into my bedroom and she was relatively peaceful. I buried her in my garden yesterday and still miss her, but I'll be okay.
when you have a great, great pet Doren.. it's about the time you had.. not the ending
I'm glad it was peaceful Dorens. I'm sorry you lost your friend.
Yes, hon, the wind was rampant until around 5:00AM.
Getting colder now.
true ru. and we had a good long time. Probably just as well she ended it with me instead of a vet's office with a shot.
still it's very sad..i'm sorry
I am so sorry Dorens.
thanks to you all. this is definitely the place to get sympathy at the loss of a pet. Has anyone ever done a statistical analysis of percentage of babblers with beloved pets vs. the general population?
silly rhetoricall question, don't answer
I don't know Dorens but it seems like everyone who plays Babble (except me) has pets.
I add my condolences and that was a lovely comment ruru.I have always paid more to have the vet come to my place so the cat doesn't have the stress of travel.
I don't think owl does, but I could be wrong
I think Owl has cats no? or am I thinking of someone else
thanks saanichat
we don't have any pets anymore - but have had a dog and multiple ferrets
When I first started playing I thought it was a word game for pet owners because chat was all about cats and dogs.
owl likes cats, but don't think she has one. I have heard that Peri does, though, and they both live in the Philadelphia area..?
((Dorens))
Most of us are very caring people, maybe that's why.
maybe we just need to pet something
thanks car. maybe saan. maybe ru
Not gonna say it...not gonna say it...nope
i give up.. i can't find the mi 6/27 either
It's a filet Ru
*bbbbaaadd molly*
It is a cut of steak...filet mi 6
name that proper noun. Former capital of a southeast asian country. molly, you don't need to... he already did
Saigon

I like Leonard Cohen.. mrs ru LOVES Leonard Cohen
<---Loves Leonard Cohen
I should have left well enough aloin
aloin
Anything else about your loins?
so, I'm listening to "Old Ideas". his latest album. I got tickets for a concert to see him in April, mentioned to my exhusband who also loves him, and he said the last album was very very dark... He lent it to me. I dunno, hasn't he ALWAYS been dark?
I'm listening to it and loving it...
he's very dark
i would say so. if not his words, then his style makes it seem so.
you would know better than us TO.. being so close to music
well i'm super excited about it. never did see him in concert and I think it's time. Going to see the NY PHilharmonic this weekend... like them too. they're doing Beethoven's fifth and brahms.. not dark at all but still beautiful owl... do you have a cat?
He's doing all these concerts because his manager made off with all or most of his earnings
heck, I;m no more savy than many, i just listen at lot and go to many performances.
they've been playing one of his recent concerts on HOB a lot or Public Television
and have to listen critically.
that's HBO..
doren i envy you!
hello again everyone :)
really? i missed that... have to look for it. and yes, I'd read a lot about his manager. glad I will get the chance to help him out and see him in person as well.
owl, you could probably still get tickets. Radio City Music HAll
hi smores
i think pbs plays the london one but it is several years old
hi smores
are a few of the words frustrating to anyone else but me?
doren, I think my friend will tell me she doesn;tknow him so would not go. she is too young.
A few?
i need to get more dinner. although it is not so good.
yes ru, i was just about to say.. down to 49 and don't really want to list yet but don't see anything
owl, tell her he wrote hallelujah. everyone knows that song. and suzanne?
i listed with about 40 to go. doren, she is only in her late forties. i wish he would come nearer
or find another friend.
50 left and not seeing them
no one who lives in that area to go with. don'tforget i won't be able to stay over. hoepfully.
LOL .. I remember bringing up an old group to one of my accounts who is younger and he looked blankly back at me.. that's when I realized i'm really old
ok smores, let's list then. we' don't have to be as good as owl.. ten more are not going to be easy
you can stay here if you need owl.
:) just did
aw, that is very sweet. i don't want to be in the way.
well, i've just started dating someone who has possibilities, but the likelihood of it working out..??? maybe i'll end up wanting to sell you his ticket..
LOL and i have not dressed up in so long that i am actually practicing walking in heels so i don't fall on my face this weekend!
dating....
haha! what are the heels for
going to a show.
i've pretty much given up on heels
but you are taller than i am. I did buy some fancy flats just in case, but i always loved heels!
they make me feel very feminine.
i may be taller than you, but i'm still barely 5'4"
oh well, thats another story. I think they look great, but they hurt my back and my feet and end up not liking the way i feel at all
i would kill for those two inches! :D
lol...I'm only 5'2" as well TO
grass is always greene
r
....over the septic tank :D
but it stilll needs to be mowed
5'2" here also
My daughter is now 5'3" and soooo loves to rub it in
Hey teach :)
my mom was 5'3"
my mom was 5'3"
:) mine too
I don't see how women can walk around in heels like that it must hurt terribly
my sisters range from 5'3" to 5'6" I'm the shortest
Hello all. I'm 5'10'
i agree, but some seem to do it just fine
i ruined this dinner after all of that expense. but it is ok to give to my neighbor, he would not know the difference. he cleared my snow the other day.
er, 5'10"
lol TO
it doesn't hurt if you get the right shoes.
you ruined it? how?
Hi up there Jellen :)
*signs jellen up for basketball practice
what were you fixing TO
I also own several pairs of 3" heels, lol
wellhe would not, two bachelors. lasagna.
boy, the list sure helps (as i've said far too many times)
lol...used to always wear 3-4 inch heels
:) I'm sure they will appreciate it TO
yes, Dorens, yes it does
i ruined it by FORGETTING the moots. and i put in sausage, it is too rih
rich
moots?
and the ricotta was too dry
hah. no moots? not lasanga
used to be i could put one together in a flash.
or gna
ru has never lived in italian areas, has he? probably calls capaciolla capaciolla instead of gabbagool
maybe it was lasanga. i invented a new dish!
well, i did say ricotta in deference.
not rigot
exACTly
<-------been around italians. Even worked Reed St YMCA day camp in South Philly. learned a whole lot then
go 7/40 please
speaking of which i am going to tony and tina's wddding on Saturday. Whcih is why i must dress: they're not calling ME out in front of the crowd for not dressing properly!
hahahaha
sooooo....what the heck is moots?
mootsarella
well, really, mootarell
mootSarell
give that woman a cannoli
ahh...got it
:) loves a good cannoli
secretary at my school is a doll. Roseann Silvestri, cannot say ricotta or mozzarella. she is so funny
gotta agree with Dorens then TO...
:)

Bye for now Dorens...enjoy your evening :)

Which one do you need TO?
i don't have either.

i'm losing my sa6 24 on this grid
Hello all...thanks for the great unasked for clue welki!
quickly learning that most of the 7 have gerund ending..
np, i liked the go7 40 clue .....
Sharp as a tack, she is.
LOL...where's ruru when I pull one like that!?
ah, i am listening to a song called "molly.Molly" right now. and here you are.
i'd give any amount of mo5 16 to get half way through this grid before i go to sleep
<----thinks the song must have been written for her during her wild child days....
The 7's are mostly gerunds? I only have 2 of them, and I'm frantically trying every permutation I can. I'm going to feel really stupid when I find them, I think.
just try a grund after every 4 letter verb .
if you list they will pop right out at you!
<---Laughs because Jill comments as if those days are over. : P
I don't list these days, so I will probably not get them. Ah well...
;) Somebody needs to wake up Molly, shes dreaming again...
evening all!
Actually, more of the 6s are gerund than the 7's
