hi sandy
hi flo
ce 6 x 2
were you in the storm Flo?
no sandy, we haven't had storm on west coast, that was east coast
aah didn't know which side you were on
They have reported a lot about the storm here
originally from Ontario, and they did get dumped with a fair bit of snow
2 sons still in Toronto area
it is over 100 degrees farenheit here today so I would like snow
oh wow, is it humid too?
no very dry and hot but it is our summer
ah, that is pretty warm alright
we have moved further south and now have a farm in Margaret river which is cooler than Perth
sounds lovely
had a bit of rain today but was inside playing bridge all afternoon
I have just rediscovered my babble expert icon which is great
nice wine country too. Hello all and especially Sandy. Long time no see
hi lyn
hi lynxx it is great to see all the old faces still here
what a peaceful sight, sandy
not so much of the old TY!
that is our old little farm flo, I will try and put one up of our new larger farm- and it definitely is great wine country- we even overlook a large vinyard
we have a couple of vinyards about a mile or so up the road, small time ones on this island
they make a delicious blackberry port
ooh sounds nice
blackberries grow wild all over the island
Blackberries are a huge problem here and the local government has a programme in place for spraying them out- I love the fruit but the plant is sooo thorny
yes, they do get nasty
Our blackberries here on the farm are under good control
we have a lot on the property - friends come to pick them so they're not really in our way and are kept under control
the thing I dont like about the dead blackberries is that they are still thorny - here they are along our creek line
not in the main paddocks
have to run down to get clothes out of the dryer
lynxx, how have you been?
OK - have gotten quite involved w. a local group which keeps me more than fully occupied. And you...moved house/farm I gather...with chooks/horses etc? and your daughter is well now?
we did move but we had to get rid of the chooks as for now we have no chookyard but one is coming horses came too and dogs
You decided not to build on the old property, thats what you were planning weren't you?
Thanks for thinking of Nicky- she has had a shoulder fusion now and is not going up to the hospital all the timebut she says she is still in pain but not nearly so much so it is a little better in that area
wow - that has been years now - she must be so over it all - poor kid
What is the local group? I have found here in the real country that the neighbours and the community are fantastic and so helpful and friendly its great
flooding - we are subject to flash flooding where we are. In years to come will be compounded by rising sea levels - at least I will be long gone by then
We had a wedding for Diana (no3 daughter) in England which was fantastic and all the kids came (including Nicky) which was a great opportunity for her to see a bit of the world
How wonderful!
Lyn are flooded at the moment there has been so much of it over east?
are you . I mean
Yes Queensland & NSW - again! No, we haven't flooded for 2 years - but it will happen again
Have you personally been flooded in the past? and if so what damage?
ours is a 100 y.o. storm water drain issue all ending up down here.
00 homes at Extreme Risk
so I take it you are working with local government to right the issue?
so I take it you are working with local government to right the issue?
mmm...have my typing dissappeared.
I got disconnected
7500 homea at extreme risk of flooding. Actually responsibility is with State Government/Water and even Federal as Climate Change will make it worse. $192m for quick fix...lord knows how much for sea level rises
Sounds like something urgently needs to be done - in the big picture 200 million is not so much
flooding is very scary as is fire
We shan't be like Qld and Northern NSW where they are talking about a Retreat policy. Our property values are too high
think I would rather have flood than fire
I agree, fire is all destroying
So we aim to provide immediate advice & products to local residents (bacause authorities ain't!) and to be a thorn in the side of those different levels of government who can actually implement the remedies
I have to go and have a rest, I am very tired- I had to trim the horse's feet this morning (can you believe it) I am learning and it is sooooooo hard
I'm impressed! I've got to go too - cake and coffee at friends. Bye
very worthwhile Lynxx, well done you!! You should have some success with al the attention given to the latest flooding but bye for now!
May I please have a clue for ac7-32? Thanks
top card +ra4/4
Thanks much, ursh. I don't have the first ra......will hunt for it. Thanks again
Thanks much, ursh. I don't have the first ra......will hunt for it. Thanks again
Found it.....now have the one you clued....thanks
I really like the bigger grids with lots of endings....these smaller ones seem to be more difficult....for me, at least.
I like them about 200 big ones sometimes take too long to finish
I like them around 200 also. What kind of weather are you experiencing
overcast - we had thunderstorm at 7.30am with lots of lightening - which is strange - but then the weather is strange all over the world
Indeed.
We got a lot of rain last night....about 3 inches.....but we really needed it.
we are in late summer so can get very hot and humid but so far this year lots of rain which has kept us a bit more comfortable
Is it beautiful there?
very green and lush
Oh, my. Have you lived there long?
grew up inland and moved to coast about 35 years ago - so yes have lived here a long time
where are you peach?
I'm in Augusta, Georgia....our only claim to fame is the annual golf tournament.(The Masters Tournament) It draws people from all over the world.
oh nice - men in family watch that tournament every year - both golf nuts
I live less than a mile from the course. Traffic is horrible during that week. If we have to go anywhere we have to skirt one section of the city.
hi again, grid was down for a while, Dr.G. working on it
just back for a few more before heading off to bed
hi peach and ursh
looking back, hope I didn't interrupt a lovely conversation there
no you did'nt flo - i lost my connection
oh dear, sorry about that
11 left and must get to bed, be back in the morning
goodnight ursh, hope you don't lose connection again
night flo sleep well
whew, finally here after a long stretch of cleaning up Hubby's face and hands - he took a header out of his mobile chair (hit a big bump) on his way to a friend's house.
think he's fine, but it was a mess. will need a new pair of glasses.
told him he needs to quit trying to take shortcuts, and to stick to the flat streets and walkways.
ooh ouch rbud - sorry
can't tell him anything, it seems he will insist on doing silly things.
gooooooooooooooooooood morning fellow babblers xxx
Hello, Worzel.

Hello, Sprite :-)

Yes just over half way for me too.
Hello, Cool.girl.
my all time favorite word is in today
Remind me?
it is an obsolete word that means 'for sure', and it is clearly related to the dutch version of it. Let me know if you want stats.
Ok got 5 more tiles to look at first..and thanks.

Ok just the three As blank.
Not found the 8 yet either.
good job. I still have two of them blanc. Also missing the 8. And 3 of the 7s. Made it to 3/4. So it is getting normal again... I usually end up with a couple of biggies.
Well you are doing better than me..but you are very good at this..Such a great game to play..i love babble.
2 As blank.
I love babble too, and I am only good at this because I have practices for so long :)
hehe..you old timer you :-)
practiced*
grin, true. Isn't it amazing a game can keep one addicted for so long?
My parents think i am mental when i tell themi can sit here for hours playing this game, And still not get bored.
hahahaha! Yeah, it is kind of hard to explain to people who haven't tried or are not into word games.
there is the last A. A perfectly normal word too, lol.
is that the AT6
yes, that was my last one!
Ooh ooh just found the 8!

have you seen OUR government lately worzel? congress is absolutely unable to do anything.
i'm open to canada too crossy :)
oh ours is able to do things - at the moment they are taxing literally everything and everyone in sight. There are mass protests everywhere at the moment
thanks brabble
love canada hurshy.most likely i will never leave it
gm, everyone! stats for the Y plz?
yw 4
ty, BR. shoulda seen that one.
morning, dawg :)
hiya Annie! are you and Bobbie staying warm? still have power?
i mean why leave? you can marry who you love without the govt interfering and we have provincial health care.taxes are a bit high but most are sin tazes
sounds good to me cross :)
Yes, we still have power. Everything is good
dr will not let me smoke anymore and i am cut back to a very sad measure on the spirits
there are only two reasons to stay in the states - 1) to be near family 2) if we can't get another country to let us in and let us work.
our government is implementing a tax where people in housing associations have to pay £25 a week for each spare bedroom they have. They are also doing it to disabled families. Nice people!!
are you back on the grid yet annie?
sounds great crossy...except the -12 part :)
turn the spare room into an office or library
keeping warm thoughts for you, annie
crossy, we are hooked into our own power plant with temporary transformers
The housing associations have to declare to the govt exactly how many bedrooms were installed at the building time. We're not allowed to do that
a spare bedroom tax...really?!
ahh
thanks, dawg..appreciate it
Although we are allowed to take in a lodger, but we will have to pay £20 a week tax for the room even in that instance.
Do they check as to who sleeps where?
i would be building myself a nice single floor open concept then.fix those buggers
haha if only I had the money - they'd probably tax me for owning a hammer!!!
So when your kids move out your have to pay a tax on the then spare rooms? wow
Can a husband and wife sleep in seperate rooms w/out a atx?
or tax*
private householders dont have to pay but council and housing association persons do. And it doesn't matter if you sleep in separate rooms either. Gits!!
Good morning everyone
morning mom xx
wow! when the kids move i would be selling the old house and buying a 400 sq foot wonder then with no bedrooms and a murphy bed in the livingroom wall
G'morning
((mom))
Worzel, good morning. Nice to meet you
morning, ((Mom))
ty xx nice to meet you too xx
what's the nature of a council/housing association? what is the logic behind taxing them specifically?
nbt, nbs!!
(Annie)) good morning to you. Are you and Bobby digging the car out today?
hooray for LBD!
Mom, yes we are and it doesn't look too bad
council/housing association is USUALLY for people who cannot afford to buy their own homes. So therefore it obviously makes sense that if you can't afford to buy then you can easily afford to pay £25 a week per room on top of your rent.
I am so glad to hear that, Annie
hoa's are suppose to be the council of "reason" keep the common grounds neat and tidy, keeps the home owners from painting their exterior walls atrocious colors, general up keep.
Basically, its for people who are on state benefits. Not always, but quite often. And the benefits are meagre enough as it is. Some people say 'go and get a job' but unemployment here is so deep at the moment
(((MOM)))
(((((LBD)))))
worzel, what country are you in?
to be fare dawger it's not the hoa's fault - they have to do what the government tells them to do
so they don't want you to use it as a means to get more house than you could afford on the market, so they are incentivizing you to get only what you need
31 left and I'm blank. BBL
united kingdom - although most of us are not united with our government lol
So this doesn't affect people who own their homes
bye bye Gramma
take care gramma
here, worzel, that is called subsidised housing and if for whatever reason there is one bedroom that becomes available in your unit, you will be moved to a smaller one with the exact rooms needed so the larger ones can be cleared for families with more people
they aren't though, hurshy - because a couple usually only need one bedroom and there are no one bedroom properties on the housing associations lists so we HAVE to pay - we have no escape route
i can understand trying to live within your means, but to tax you for extra rooms? sheesh. how about paying you to lease them out?
i agree families need the bigger houses, but my partner and i only need one bedroom and they have no one bedroom properties
yeah, i mean, i guess i can see why they do it and also why it's tough on people.
besides which my partner lived here for 23 years with her mum b4 her mum passed away in November so there are lots of emotions running high too
if we were stuck with one bedroom, i'd never be able to sleep though! my husband and i have to have separate rooms.
well,if they have no one room units, you should definatly not be penalized
hurshy the problem is that our goverment don't do it for incentiveness they do it because they always have taxed the poor and give major tax relief to the rich
oh, subsidized housing...and you're penalized for the govt not enough properly sized rooms. argh!
ah well we have that problem in spades
maybe canada really is the only way to go.
anyway i'll be back later i need a lay down after all this convo! u lot take care ok? xxxx
and it's been nice talking to you all xxx
tc worzel
bye bye Worzel, have a good rest
lol,all you americans will have to check your hand guns at the border...
Bye worzel, good luck to ya :)
not to worry though.will get you a nice deer/moose rifle
no prob crossy as that's one of the reasons i want to leave!
i hate the NRA so much!
can I get a clue for the first en 7/28 please
it is staggeringy hard to get a hand gun permit here, never mind permit to carry or the almost mythic permit to carry concealed
Annie, I will help you look as I don't have it
en + trick or *****

hi zooz, I have that one, I need the first one
Good afternoon, Zoozz and thank you

America is run by people who make the Cardinal and Prince look like rank amateurs.
good morning BabbleRabble
why? what are the cardinal and prince up to?
John Birch and Lyndon Larouche are now liberals
hi everyone. just a small grid today then. how is it?
ahh, here we just try and dump poiliticians off in the woods and get them lost right before hunting season.the wolves do the rest
There is a congresswoman in New Mexico who is trying to pass a bill that if a woman is raped and becomes pregnant she has to carry the baby to term so that DNA can be obtained. If she has an abortion she can be charged with "tampering with evidence". Unbelievable.
howdy medusa
The Constitution is now a distraction that many simply ignore.
hey crossy. how are you?
hi medusa
that is insane annie
Hi Medusa, to me it is a stinker
Yes, Annie, unbelievable
not bad at all medusa and you?
good thanks crossy. hi mom
lol, they ignore it all but the second amendment
hi annie
In my view, every elected official violates his/her oath of office everyday.
good thing it never said the right to bear cannon,s or everyone would have a brace of ten pounders on the front lawn
hows you today mom and annie
hi medusa! 2nd amendment...right to bear arms. nothing about owning them.
Perhaps, crossy, but the arsenal of the cop-killer includes more than assault rifles according to some.
13 remaining...bbl to finish. hagd everyone.
my brother spent 2 years in texas and is now in las vegas and is staggered at how easy it is to obtain legal hand guns with very little background check
tc lbd
Is napalm protected by the second amendment?
bye bye (((LBD)))
who knows,i am sure someone is mixing some up in some basement as we speak
Hi Medusa
ttfn dawg
Medusa, it is a good day for me. Mom and I are going shopping here in a bit. How are you
how about the poison that killed reservists in Iraq that private contractors knew about and brought the reservists in anyway.
Gotta go...be back this afternoon...enjoy the day all :)
It usually all boils down to oil and money
bye Smores, have a great day
would not worry about that anyways.give teran another year with the nuclear investigations board and the un twiddling it's thumbs and they will be able to park a tactical nuke over the white house dome before you know it

Hello, Aloy... how is the water polo going?
(-: swimmingly, BabbleRabble.. and how are you?
Neato jet racy ... thanks for asking
glad to hear it.. have my grungy work clothes on and plan on doing some manual labor in the grove today.. slowly so I don't pull muscles etc.. need to exercise
Going to get to the root of any problems?
exactly!! how did you know? we have saw palmettos growing where they are not supposed to grow, and I have to hack them with the maddock
am only going for the little ones.. after they grow a while, their bases are hard as cement
Is a maddock a ditcher? backhoe?
a tool with a heavy metal head, wedged on one end, we have one that has the other end kind of pointed.. you swing it down into the ground to get to the root of things that you can't pull up.. it is a multi-purpose tool.. handle long like an ax
easy to pull back muscles.. been there, done that, so I learn the hard way
The middle A is at6/21

did you work around heavy equipment, sue?

ouch, crossy!
at least i still have my toes
painful to imagine, glad your tootsies are ok
Good morning evryone
howdy rast
hi rasta
shoeing the game to my mom today
I did work around heavy equipment, in large physics labs
lead bricks were the worst, they could really hurt if you dropped one!
and hi rasta!
lead bricks? i would imagine so!
worked in a research lab once where we had to wear shoes with soles that acid wouldn't eat
how much would a lead brick weigh?
the lead bricks were good for radiation shielding, though, so we had a lot of them
I think they were about 25 pounds, aloy
Good day to all.
hi scrabs!
hiya Scrabbler.. you are my inspiration to get some exercise today .. are you sore?
No, I am surprised. I did soak in a hot bathtub for an hour when I got home though.
good move!
howdy scrabby
hi scrabbler
you should install a jacuzzi! ahhhh
I felt great out there yesterday. Friday I was sluggish. My pre-work-out meal is the difference, I think.
I don't want to maintain a Jacuzzi.
i got 20 left. think i need a break. be back in a while to finish.
scrabby,i get tired just listening to you.i did 2.5k round trip on the shoes yesterday and was cooked!
I get so energized by being active in nature.
wore layers but my outside ski shell was just a soaked ruin from sweat
Snowshoes are a lot of work! I climbed a mountain once using them; that was pretty tough (and I was young at the time)
agree, sue..
it is my mani exercise now suze as i have bursistis and am trying to use them or lose them as they say
main
you don't do xc, crossy?
I choose my layers knowing I will be sweating profusely within 10-15 minutes of skiing or snowshoeing. So, I start out chilly but then am hot.
no,aloy,i do not.i snow shoe in winter and hike in summer
xc saved me in NE Ohio... loved getting out
When I take off my shell in the lodge it is all wet inside.
lol same here scrabbs,just soaked
There are 2 races at these trails coming up. Next Saturday = snowshoe race--2.5 or 5 miles. The next Saturday = XC-skiing.
Oy, Mates!
howdy judi
Hi Judi
fingers would start off frozen, but soon I would be peeling off gloves
hi Judi
I use hand warmers on the below 25F days.
do not think i am ready for a race in them!
how nice you live near groomed trails, Scrabbler
we have the bruce trail that runs right through our area,so i pick a chunk of that and away i go.no grooming
I love living next to this park. I do everything there except paddle. (No paddling allowed on the 3 ponds.) I ski, snowshoe, mountain bike and hike. It is my sanctuary!
breaking a trail is nasty
I use backcountry skis so do not need groomed trails, but it is nice.
hubby went first, lol
but the dog would mess up tracks
I might do the races just for fun and chances to win door prizes...and maybe meet a nice guy?
there you go, Scrabbler.. good thinking!
I briefly talked with a guy yesterday as he exited his car and I was returning to my car. I regret not talking to him longer. He was alone.
hi babblers
Hello ice fisherwoman!
hi welki
<--- thinks scrabbler should make a loop around the parking area on a regular basis until she meets up with george clooney again :)
He was soft-spoken and thanked me for telling him about trail conditions. Single, married, ??
Good plan, welki!
cruise by the parking lot and check for a certain automobile
X-C Skiing CSI
hi welki!
lol welki
^5 Aloy!
NY Plates?
Yes, an SUV. I will remember his parting words, "You take care."
too bad he didn't have his gloves off
Yes, but no ring might not mean single.
my first canadian friend was supposed to meet a man tomorrow, someone she met on a dating service. smart cookie, she ran a background check on him, found him to be a liar and gave him the boot before he arrived
it is a start
i do not wear my wedding band atm.needs to be resized
Good for her, welki.
phew, glad she checked
folks who work with machinery often don't wear rings either - not a good indicator (unless there's a tan-line where the ring is supposed to be!)
I figure, if I ever meet the right guy, it will be through a common activity.
right lets get this grid done!
but any woman can always tell if a man is married because we always have our head down looking for spare change cause we are broke and have diaper coupons in our wallets where the condom used to be
I agree
I met mine through match.com. I know it doesn't work for everyone but it did from me :)
I met my husband on the internet so I'm biased :)
i did, too, mael - but it was a long time ago

Pam, in Boston, got 2 feet. I haven't heard from Bichon. She is in Connecticut where upwards of 40 inches fell in Hamden.

wow, yeah, the pix of Boston and Connecticut were amazing . . .
My BIL says they got 3 feet in Old Lyme. Better them than us!
indeed une.the hills are in amazing shape
jeezomeez!
I suspect Bichon has no power.
took us two hours to dig out yesterday morning here in boston
can't imagine having no power with the single-digit temps . . .
Not one little flake here in Delaware.
Oh, you're in Boston, mael?
just outside, yes :)

There is a ski resort across the valley and I love to see them thrive. We had dinner at their restaurant Friday night. It's fun to look out at the slopes. The snow was falling hard.

I always thought Disney movies were a "popular culture" thing whether you have seen them or not. That one in particular because it was so unique.
watches Bach, Dukas, Stravinsky, Stokowski and the entire Philadelphia Orchestra of yesteryear turn over in their graves...
Whoa, bumpy cemetery.

I have been shut out of babble on two browsers- can't log in.
hi kap! Good to see you found one that works!
ye, but wtf?
Check your computer for malware. You should be able to log into any site from any browser.
oh, no- not more malware. And does anyone know what a clickjacking attempt is?
Tell me how to do this- I thought I got rid of all the Browse-to-saves.
It's getting you to click on something you think is innocent when it really isn't. Basic rule of thumb is never, ever click on a link in an email, even if it is from a trusted source. People forward all kinds of crap that could be a link to a malicious site.
I didn't do it, I swear. But now what?
You need to have good malware protection on your computer, especially if you have a web site that makes your email address very public.
I thought I did.
Iave norton and all kinds of protection. Condoms, the whole bit.
Condoms can come in handy I bet
look, it's an unsafe world. I use hand sanitizer, everything.
I checked my fiefox and chrome and there are no suspicious extensions.
HA Kap...
that's what the condoms are for
<---heads to gutter
Iactually haven't been able to play babble on firefox for months
Norton is virus protection. You need malware protection. Malware Bytes is free. You should have someone look at your computer. No one can diagnose it via the internet. No matter how computer savvy they pretend to be.
Oh and I agree. Condoms should always be used on suspicious extensions.
hi again, clue for the pa5 after spanish father?
I missed nan's clue on ac7, could someone give it to me, please?
high card + measurement of speed... I think....

Must be all the gin she's had this weekend. : P
Our road is still not plowed, driving is dangerous anyhow, everything is closed and I'm getting cabin fever. all I've done in the last 2 days is shovel snow.
Hi everyone
It gets old after a while Bich. Hope you get plowed out soon.
They say we'll be plowed out by tonight, but the forcast is for freezing rain tonight. No driving anywhere till that all melts. But, I do have Babble and all youse guys
It's supposed to be 55 here tomorrow. Maybe some of that warm air will work it's way toward you.
Yes, it will be warmer. Maybe winter is over
en 7, the first one pls
Ends like the Disney movie in which Mickey is a sorcerer.
there's no i there
enratwizard...
help with the en 7, first one, pls
help with g words I only have ga4/7
the ones after that are difficult to clue peri.
do you have the en 7/28 , first one? My last word
I will keep looking or go to morewoerds
ga + high point letter, then vowel
Molly gave a good clue for the en7 at 3:42
Yes, but I don't get it. Could you clue it differently peri?
There is an I there. It ends with a continent. Connect the en to the continent.
that is the way I clued it earlier
Ga4/11 old english word for staring with mouth open.
doh! that movie. I was thinking about the sorceror's apprentice
then plural for the GA5.
FW. Thank you Molly
Peri, in Dead Poets Society, the teacher told his students to make a sound that started with Y. Two of the g words rhyme with that.
Well done, Bichon.
ty all for the ga words
are all the g words ga?
Too late, Zoom swooped in with the g clues.
the other ga5 is similar but ends with the 3 point tile.
I am still missing one g
Yes , Peri.
I have 2 ga4 and one ga5
There is another GA 5
ty zooz
bottom row gray
hi all!
suze!!
hi crossy!
it was getting a little lonely here!
how is frank doing these days?
well i am here now to cause mayhem and chaos
Frank is good, crossy, right now he is out shoveling slush
if he is shovelling,he is taking the chemo very well.i am glad
we had snow and then freezing rain and now things are sort of melting so he wants to get it out of the way before it freezes again
And how are you doing these days Sue?
he is indeed, the worst side effect he is having is dry skin
I am good too, Molly, I finished my big freelance projects so actually have some time to relax now
Good, so all your health problems are on the mend?
they are although apparently I have to stay away from caffeine, sigh
Oh God, that's rough. : (
also we just looked at the house we are going to be moving into, and it looks really nice
That's good, is it bigger or smaller than your current house?
bigger if you include the finished basement, and newer
Perfect. Then you don't have to get rid of a lot of stuff to fit in. When do you move?
It will be ready March 1, and we have to be out of this house by the end of March, so we'll spend March moving things over gradually
That's the best way to move.
it's less than half a mile away so most things won't really even have to be packed
once we get all the little stuff moved, I'll get movers to move the big things.
a change is nice.time to get rid of old clutter.we have been in same place for 20 years now and really need about 3 yard sales back to back
yes, I'm starting to go through stuff and get rid of a lot of things
also I hired the sister of a friend who has been decluttering and organizing all our stuff, which has been a big help too
problem is here in tourist country we get "flea market trolls" they will come by 3 minutes after you set up and offer you one price for everything, load it all up and resell it at their table they have at the market on saturdays
I'm mostly donating stuff, books to the church for book sales, clothes to goodwill, and the like
and it is tempting, but they generally offer about half of what you would get if you stuck it out all day
I gave up on yard sales. I was appalled by the way people wanted to dicker down to nothing on things I had reasonably low prices on.
yes,clothes are always donated
i price nothing in my sales.if you come up i say"well, what would you thing is a fair price for that" you say a price and if needed i counter offer.i tend to do better that way
I'm not planning to try to sell anything, most of my stuff isn't worth it. I may freecycle some things (want an old organ?)
no,thank you lol
Yard sales are a lot of work too. I never found what I made worth the effort.
for example, right now i am staring at 3!! complete stereo systems on the top shelf of the coat closet;(
me either, Molly.
we wil have to buy a bunch of new furniture but that will be kind of fun - a way for Frank and me to have a place that is really ours
It must be nice now that it is just the two of you. Certainly less drama what with the girlfriend situation.
indeed it is! we'll have a place where Leo can stay if he needs to; the finished basement is actually really nice
fireworks!
Good. You can rent it to him if he wants to move back in. : D
there you go :-)
I'll go tend bar in the PB now.
Did I mention that there is a bar in the basement?
Dry, but still...
Hi Molly and Sue - the house sounds good Sue :)
hi liz! It's going to be great!
I can work around a dry bar.
And congrats on the fireworks :)
BYO parties!
Or, instead of a house warming party, have a "stock the bar" party. : D
:)
that is a good idea! I may very well do that :-)
clue for the 2nd ar pls?
My nephew gave up the most beautiful, brick walled bar when he moved. I got teary thinking about it.
As long as he took the stock with him!!!!!
ar + hit the del*** key when you want to get rid of something
ty Molly :)
Liz, there are no fools when it comes to liquor in my clan. : )
Tried those letters - just not in that order!!!!!! Which is a good definition of spelling or playing the piano!
afternoon, Molly, Liz, Sue...
Hi jan :)
HI, Jan!
top and bottom row done. these puzzles have been mind boggling lately!
I had no idea there were British Academy Awards. Never heard of them before this year.
Baftas have been around for years but I guess in the US at this time of year, the build up is towards the Oscars!
Was just looking at some of the dresses worn to the baftas - and Helen Mirren's hair.
Hello Babble Land!
I just realized that my brownie in a cup recipe is different from Smores recipe, so I put mine in my profile. Mine calls for cocoa, not hot chocolate mix. And it has vanilla in it.
Oh dear God, forget the BAFTA dresses. Go look at what Adele showed up to the Grammy Awards in. I think I have retinal damage.
oh dear, she looks like a teacup. Well, let's face it: she makes up in vocal talent what she lacks in fashion sense. :)
Sounds yummy! Going to look at Adele now!
Definite teacup! But I do love her voice!
Can anyone help withe first three en words please? I'm totally stuck. Thanks.
en7 is the first -- ends in continent. en5 second
en 7 / 28 - en + consonant + continent
en 5 - to go in and en 6 adds to that word
pa 6 / 21 - the 2nd one pls after the father!
Thanks so much. Could've sworn they did not exist.
I have a 6/21 that sounds like general george
There's on just before that I think - making 3 in a row!
that's pa6 pending for an invention
Have that one too! After the invention one is the father, then 3 x pa 6 / 21! I'm missing the first of those.
pa6/21 scramble the invention one
hello all
also, double the vowel ending
I must be missing it, liz. I have the invention, the general with double consonant, then the sound of tiny feet
ty Dan - it was the double vowel ending I was missing!
there is one with a different spelling of a hamburger pa****
oh good you got it
ty grammaterri too! I was getting really frustrated with that one!

ty ruru
you're welcome m'lord wht
I'm still trying to get past 25 immediate family members for Thanksgiving.
were you talking about adele at the grammies?
she looks like she took a couple coasters from Target and made it a dress
earlier, ru. I thought she looked like a teacup, but her vocal talent makes up for her lack of fashion.
Yes, her dress looks like it was made out of my Aunt Ethel's couch fabric.
liz, I need that same te6/18 too ...
2 left - that one and sa 6!
Don't want to use more words!
it is rathe...busy
sa6 is the fabric ...

Did Nicole and girly boy break up?
she was on the red carpet with keith
Could I please have a clue for te 6/21?
oh, i love adele
te6,21 is a babblet. It is number + the room in the basement with the ping pong table in it.
What is a babblet?
does anyone else think that un. needs autotune? my ears hurt
fun.
A babblet is a word (usually short) that appears frequently in Babble and never in conversation.
Thanks Wht!
Clue for the wa5,20 please.

hi welks
clues for any of the g's?
i heard there's been a pretty bad tornado in mississippi :(
the way a bostonian would pronounce, the World According to Ga** (and then two will follow)
all ga's, syb.
probably started with the whirlwind from adele's dress welki
Also breaks in a wall or in the clouds.
Hagrid's "little brother" Ga**y
i didn't notice her dress - revealing?
yeah.. for a couch covering at a holiday inn express
oh dear. just looked at it. unusual
but i like her shoes :)
That ga4/7 is plural of clothing company. ga4/11 is ga plus Pages is the *ord *rocessing program for Macs. A ga 5/24 word is plural it for ga 4/1. ga 5/26 word is same first three letters plus do not set off the alarm **stem at your job syb215.
hello, min
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Hi Min.
Hi there wht!How are you?It looks like I killed the chat log.
That happens sometimes. I think everyone went off to see what Adele was wearing to the Grammies.
does anyone have a clue for the A in the center?
Oh I forgot about the Grammys. That's the one award show I do not watch. Well I am here for clues if anyone needs it.
at 6/21: All children should at**** college after high school
found it...always happens when i ask for a clue
ty min....i don't understand why i always find a word after i give up and ask for a clue.
at6,21. What Min won't do to the Grammys :^)
hi Minver! how about one of the first wa4's my last work. I have the one that sounds like smacking people around lol
*word
That is what I won't do for ANY award show, but I would so love to go to the Emmy Awards,Golden Globe Awards Oscar Awards,& the People's Choice awards, but wishful thinking on my part.
lol wht, that was a great clue!
One of the wa4's is a stinging insect and the otther is a measure of electrical energy.
** finito ** last word AC 5/12

i just check out adeles dress. . . that is one where you have to wonder if she looked in the mirror when she bought it
I will definately check it out, I still need 50 words :)
What are you watching jmc?
i am not watching. . .googled adele at grammy to see her dress people were commenting on
Ahh...
My prayer for the night...Dear God, please send Adele a mirror. And whose floral print love extends right down to their shoes? Ugh.
i'm thinking that we could have a very nice retirement AND be very charitable philanthropists on what those outfits cost to put together
the shoes wouldn't be so bad except for the dress
i liked her shoes, thought they were better than the dress
haha welki and i is twins!
^5
are you going to the same meetings as wht next week, jm?
mmmm no he is coming to protest global warming. . .
is mrs. wht travelling, too?

haha i had to look up the definition to get your joke molls
i may have to put that one along side of zarf
quick pop in, JMC, i think the blank tile on your flag should be the letter B.
ah that's a good idea too
i get the fish, the candle - but what's with the beer mug?
so far the suggestions have been cabana boys; We [heart] food; and dr-god
beer mug with a wine glass. . . since we talk about drinking a lot
and i think the candle needs work . . . this is a work in progress obviously
ohh, i see :)
Why a candle?
because we have lit so many for different people
some one asked why a fish too!

Okay, girls are in bed, cats are in the house and the dog has been let out, time to finish :)
Cos, did you watch Zero Hour yet?
I call that steak knife :P
no not yet... didnt have time last night and had to work today
Smores, I looked at your brownie in a cup recipe and mine is different, so I posted mine too.
Cool Molly, I'll check it out.
Just realized one of the actors in zero hour was on this abc family show I liked... but he dresses the same in ZH as he did in Greek. exactly the same.
isnt centai a word?
just checked. yes it is.
ah found the ce6.. now that clue mkes sense.. thanks jilly
lol...your recipe says chocolate chips optional as well. Yeah right. :)
We never have obsolete monetary units here, cos ..
:)
For the odd, freakish person who does not like chocolate chips. Or the baking impaired who thinks they can't make it without the chocolate chips.
The chips are a must :)
Good Evening All. We've got the Grandson; and will have him through Tuesday; so I haven't been online the past few daus again. How are you all tonight? Hunkered in; staying warm and out of the weather I hope?
sp7 please? (hi nef)
Your recipe is similar to the original one I had, except it was regular not brown sugar. I think it was also 4T each as well. Not sure though, I still have is somewhere.
it just started snowing pretty heavily here
Hey Nef :)
same as sw7 if you have it cos
Hi cos and smores.
4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup
thanks didnt have sw7 too.. got both now
:) Molly
i need to try these recipes molly and smore
thanks cos and smores for the clues (22 words found thus far; should know better than to start a game this late n the day)
and Molly; since I've always thought that 3 TBS = 1/4 cup; that may explain why I'm a lousy baker! :-)
4 tbsp = 1 cup is the only measurement i have memorized sadly
lol...cos
I've never understood why a recipe calls for 4 tablespoons instead of 1/4 cup. It's a lot easier to measure 1/4 cup than to measure 4 tablespoons.
true...
very true, Molly
only because i see a lot of recipes that call for 4 tbsp..
*Makes a note not to eat Cos's baked goods*
lol...I don't think he caught it Molly
lol. i follow recipes precisely.. but when i have to convert i look it up.. except for the 4 tbsp one :P
i meant 1/4 cup :P
<---rarely follows recipes
baked goods I follow strictly.. others I improvise
te6/21 please?
I was out of unsweetened cocoa and wanted brownies is how I came up with the cocoa mix idea :)
checking to see if i have cocoa mix
a number and ***reational vehicle
i have cocoa powder.. would that work instead of cocoa mizx
If unsweetened then use Molly's recipe cos
ok looking
pooo i dont have brown sugar.
found a recipe.. brb making it now
It'll work with regular sugar
Brown sugar... LIGHT – 1 cup sugar and 1 tbsp molasses DARK - 1 cup sugar and 2 tbsp molasses
Most people don't keep molasses around though.
ugh forget it i dont have sugar. just sugar cubes lol tried smashing them but.... too much work
I had a jar of molasses but threw it out last week due to never using it :P
te6/21 please
That's funny Cos. Reminds me of a party I was at in college. The next morning, there was no sugar for coffee. This guy was trying to knock the powdered sugar off a doughnut into his coffee. : D
lol thats kinda sad
but funny :P
Hungover people will do strange things. : )
lol
clued the te6 at 9:59
yes I know from personal experience :P
thanks smores

WooHo Cos !!!

I am off to bed, have a great evening :)
hi all, bye smores
Hi Gwen. I've had my nose in the grid; looked up and everyone had gone (I think)
yep, looks like smores left half an hour ago, which i didn't notice till after i said bye to her
oh boy, found the 8
WTG, Gwen!!! :-)
8-D
I didn't get here til about an hour or so ago; so I just opened Lickety before half way so I can at least have a little fun
Gs are grounded
halfway, now working on nbt
I just now got NBT; working on that 8 for the NBS
nbt, yea
wtg on your nbt nef!
Yay for you too, Gwen!
Got it! Yay!! (and 55 words left
woo hoo nef!
caps
oops! Off to the PB for me.
(tossing some tostitos over the wall into the PB)
thanks, Gwen. I've got guac and salsa and fresh veggies; but some salty carbs are good too
(and some nice cold coke) (?)
no thanks. I've finally given up soda pop; and I don't drink alcohol; but I love my teas and coffee. (drinking some Good Earth Original right now)
last week i gave up milk. it gives me indigestion (!) although i think i could probably take it in small amounts
can you have yogurt?
as for digestion, i don't know, since yogurt is too disgusting for me to eat 8-)
i'm a bit neurotic about food . . .
LOL! My sone was lactose intolerate and couldn't drink milk til he was 7 yrs old; now my daughter (who's 30) just informed me she can't drink milk anymore! Just wondering if it's a lactose intolerance for her (and you)
neurotic? How so?
lactose intolerance is just a descriptive, not an actual disease, so, yes, my guts are becoming intolerant all right LOL
neurotic in that i can't manage to eat anything that has the consistency of snot, for one thing
I'll agree it isn't a disease; but it definitely was a medical condition that had severe effects on our son!
well, cow milk wasn't meant for humans anyway . . .
oh, dear (I Had to ask; huh?) ;-)
(nor is curdled cow milk)
i have often wondered, the person who invented cottage cheese, how did they know when they were done inventing it?
true. I read somewhere that there was a genetic change just 7000 years ago that allows humans to digest milk
cows and horses and cats can eat grass but i'm thinking i would have a hard time with that, too LOL
It does make one wonder; doesn't it?
Okay; too tired to do anymore. Good Night, Gwen; and good Luck!
night night nef
<---won't be able to look at yogurt for a while now
