oooh, one last thing to share before I poof - today I tried Fleischmann's new bread in a box... bread that can be made in one hour sans a bread machine, and no kneading.... we tried their white bread today... took a little longer than an hour, but was absolutely fantastic!

We went to a local take away ( a good one with home made pasta - I had some with artichokes and capers - yummy
I thought he would be upset. Men hide their feelings too much
we generally have lunch out 5 days, but none of the places is very good
Very nice restaurants down here in the South West.
I am waiting for Diana to download some photos for me to put on my computor so I can email some
the only good restaurants here are either too far away to drive safely with DH or are waaaay too expensive (more than $300 for two for lunch)
Bert must be pretty good for his age to go out to lunch everyday
I'll look forward to receiving photos, but would love to see pix of your "project"
he's surprisingly healthy, it's just his mind that's going....(bad nel)
That is expensive for lunch (specially 5 days worth) and we have lots of the project taken - dusty and hot but hopefully one day, an oasis!
and that's with barely drinking!
I don't know how that compares with Australian dollars, but I meant 300 euros, $almost $400 American)
We had to get the dam emptied and have had no water for three days- Our restaurants at the wineries are more expensive than our little restaurants - but at a good restaurant the mains are no more than $40
The quality of the food is amazing!!

I love watching the birds. We have some beautiful blue wrens that are literally cobalt blue- they are beautiful - also a colony of kookaburras live here and their laughter echos right through the forrest.
I've seen pix of trhe kookaburras but there is nothing exotic around here.
OMG Ruby, I went out in the paddock and found a bit of clean water in the stream - LOL- and had a wash
we have a feeder outside the breakfast-room window, so I learn a lot about the birds by observing through the glass. I cannot imagine trekking through the woods listening for birds
We have a lot of parrots here. Nice bright colours. When ever it rains the big black cockies with red under their wings fly around

it is across Government Cut from Miami Beach, accessible only by ferry. You could probably Google it, but it is much changed, I'm sure, since we left
and you could make a hat from their feathers, lol
Lots of peacocks wander around the University of WA
Also a large population live on Rottnest Island (Just off the coast here)
I particularly liked the adolescent peacocks and our dog at the time, Rosie, used to chase them up onto the roofs
some (dopey) people objected to their squawks
I have to been to the beach south of Miami- Daytona Beach ....I think
Daytona is waaay north of Miami,; Fisher Island is very south, just north of the Keys
They are very noisy - they used to make a lot of noise outside the windows
"our" birds are very noisy, even though it keeps snowing, they've gotten much of their sapring plumage and I think are making "couples"
OK um Father in law lived in Deltona, and we drove from there so ...??? Liked the way you drive along the beach
I don't know that part of Florida, just lived in Miami for my job
and travelled a lot, but not in Florida
I miss the heat and the ocean
I know we drove past what I thought was the Keys and saw lots of aligators on our way to the beach
We saw the first space shuttle take off when we were at the airport ready to leave and when we got to LA it landed there and we say that on Tele
but Australian crocs are much bigger, n'est-ce pas? Aren't you in danger swimming in wild places?

since moving hosue i have discovered unpalatable things about our health system - we are organised into 'heath boards' and you have to have your services delivered within your own health board area (unless you are a long way form home and have an emergency)

We can see a dentist who is parta of Delta dental anywhere in the country, but we have to see a local doctor unless an emergency
doctors aren't much better as my daughter went the other day as she is having headaches and feeling weird since her accident and our gp knew she had an accident but not much detail, so my husband had to tell him and then the gp said he would have to ring the hospital but in the mean time keep an eye on her...what do they think we have been doing??

glant, if you are ever in durham, we have a fab chinese buffet in durham city.they have different food throughout the day and different prices.it is lovely, especially at night as you can get prawns, mussels and duck in pancakes with the plum sauce for £13 for as much as you want and have the starters and puddings.my mam and dad love it, and as my mam is very picky with any food and especially oriental that is saying something!

we had to have ourt male cat put down on friday and am missing him.i miss his ways of doinf things and his meowing, even if it did wake us up i the middle of the night.my bairn is already asking for another cat to keep our female cat company!

i know molly.i'm normally a 10/12 but am probably more a 12/14 now but alot of clothing manufacturers are different as in sizes,i, was once a size 8 but because of my dissabilities not because i wanted to be.but a size 8 was the lowest, now we have a 0, i don't ever want my daughter to be that size

It just goes to show how little society has advanced when it comes to women. No one says anything about a man when he gains weight or his hair turns gray, etc. I try not to focus on looks with my daughter and I get upset when other people do. Yes, she is gorgeous. But, more importantly, she is smart, sweet, funny, etc.

thanks artic, it might be because when i was 16 i started looking after old people and when i was 17 i worked in a pyschiatric hospital for a few years and then carried on from there caring for people with different needs until i ended up having people like my bairn and husband looking after me.i miss and really enjoyed my work
my brother has been out there 3 times too arctic. he was out there with the army once and then twice training the afghans as in drugs/border control

wow..hard work...and i think quite dangerous, because the drug trade is backbone of economy there for many farmers..my son was in reconnaissance..relied on dog teams, too...tough crappy work..if anything happened to him, i was going to plant my Newf dog, my pyr. and myself on Parliament Hill til our idiot p.m. brought them home...
my son asked me to take an even strain, so i think he was glad i didn't actually follow thru!!
i found it and still do find it easier to talk to people with special needs than i do with other people.i have more patience for them, even more than my own child and that sounds bad. actually i have more patience for other children than my own, but i think that is a parent thing!(well i hope so) :)
doesn't sound bad..maybe we expect more from our own kids? often kids talk more easily to friend's parent than their own? works like that for parents sometimes too, go easier on their friend's kid than own..

mostly I am, lilliann -- this is a tough assignment, walking in mid-year when there is uncertainty about when or whether the original teacher will return. I'm done so here is a story of clues for you to sc 4/5 through. I was agh 5/16 when I 1st heard who would be hosting the Oscar awards. I ca 6/21 believe Seth Mcfarlane is the Oscar host. I wonder if the decision to have him host was made in ha5/12. I watched the opening act. It was not a disas5/10, but I have seen better. I hope that Silver Linings Playbook wins best picture.The ca4/5 in that movie is phenomenal.Even though I think Ben Affleck is egoce7/36, I think Argo is a good film as well. I usually think it is a wa 5/18 of money to go see a movie because it co 4/5s so much but I think it's worth it to go see the film Argo. I also hope that the 9 year old girl sn4/6s an Oscar. She is so cute! You would think that she would be a sn 4/4 getting so much attention at a young age, but she is not. Now that I have wr4/8ten my story, I am going to qu4/7 babbling for now. For those who don't have FaceBook, I expressed my opinion there that I' annoyed, to say the least, that Argo won for distorting history and giving the CIA undeserved credit for the release of the hostages, when it was really the Canadian Ken Taylor who made all the arrangements. And this grabbing of credit for someone else's achievements is what makes the USA unpopular. Which makes me sad, because I have many US relatives and friends.
