Rose hows your MIL?
{{sprite}}
hi Sprite
SPRITE! hello
bye jilli... sorry to have missed you
hey ya pugs, she's okay. apologies for nor not returning your email. angina settled, then we just had to deal with her digestive issues
hiya pug, rose, flosey, ursh et al :) *hugs* Rose, how is Mother Mac?
Hey there, sprite!
glad she is ok.
hiya peach :)
she is very hunched over, and when she ea4, the food doesn't go through her tummy and gut well. we have to remind her to try and sit up straight.
Hey Peach!
Hey there puglet.
she is lucky to be with you, rose, and get such excellent care.
And Rose also.
*hugs peach too*
Sprite-How are things going for you?
thanx sprite, sometimes i really have to push myself. talk about the reluctant hero/ine. so don't praise me too much, 'cos i am not always willing.
hi peach
Thanks, sprite, needed that.
I praise you anyway, rose. You may not be willing, but you are doing.
You having a bad time Peach?
am good, pug. Spent a very quiet weekend alone and loved it. Ready for another week of shocking developments ;)
had the feeling you did, peach. Can we help? By listening, if nothing else?
i feel such a fraud. sometimes i could just smack her, *wry grin*
Are the changes youre making getting a bit easier as the time passes
sprite, alone down ti4 can be so precious.glad it went well for you.
Same old stuff, sprite, different day....LOL
rose, that makes you human, not a fraud. The fact that you keep on doing it makes you into that hero for me. And by all means, complain! Get it off your chest. It is NOT easy at all.
awww, *hugs sprite*
aw peach, dear one! *hugs*. That feeling huh... that sucks.
I hope so, pug. Too early to tell. I can say, very proudly I may add, that I was home alone and did not indulge in binge eating.
hey rose - can empathize - and it is MY mother I take care of - patience sometimes very stretched
No it isnt Rose!Taking care of someone is not all peaches and cream. There are times I want to snap at my sister but I know she cant help the things she does and I feel bad about myself when I feel that way towards her
You help, just by being in the world at the same time.
thats wonderful Sprite!
am glad, peach. Wish we could do more though.
Im sorry Peach you are down but we can all pray for you
yay, sprite, no bingeing, now that is an amazing plus
ursh and pug... don't feel guilty for that. It is taxing, what you do, and we are only human, remember. No need for feeling bad.
thanks :) I am kinda proud I did so well.
I know you are sending positive energy and it does so much good. And you know I am sending to you.
urshy, yes i know you empathise. but picture this, ...if it was MY mother, one of us would be dead by now.lol
holding you in my thoughts and prayers, peach, every day :)
Oh, thanks pug.....it does wonders.
well Rose it could be worse--You could have them both with you
*giggles* oh rose, too true. And it had better not be you!
lol pug!
Sprite are things improving with your son
rofl, do you not remember that terrible 3 weeks about 4 years ago?
no I wasent here then
oh... yes I think I do...
don was 6 weeks post shoulder surgery, my mother had had her only good hand operated on, i was in a wheelchair post ankle surgery, and mother mac was diagnosed with macula degeneration.
son is okayish... slight improvement... several good days before reverting to hormonal jerk.
th5 were the 4 of us, rattling around this house. it was a scream a minute, mostly from yours truly
Oh Rose! how awful! But I see you made it with flying colors
god yes, I do remember. Drove you batty, and let's be honest, it was undoable.
pugs, everyone is still breathing, lol
that in itself earns you sainthood, rose
was ever so appreciative of this community then, as now and always. you lot kept me sane.
You have such an soap opera life Rose-lol
pugs, and only half of it ever gets to air, hun
lololllll
i wonder if i have too many fingers in too many pies...hmmm
th5 must be some sort of magnet in me.
Terra came from under my desk to see what all the noise was about, I was laughing so loud!
oh, dear...at least we made our sprite laugh. my job is done.;P
lovely. Too funny.
You make my life seem so dull!
dull is good. Dull is peaceful. I'd settle for dull. But your life isn't, pug!
It seems so compared to Rose's
strange, that's what i said to himself when he proposed, and he said, 'i think it's goihg to be fun married to you', and i answered, ' don't know about fun, but you will never be bored'. *grin*
aw that is so sweet, rose
and he never has been :D
please may i have a clue for the 9
pugs, not dull, just normal.....heave a big sigh of relief, sweetie.
hi Jjenny :)
You still with us Peach? Feeling any better
re9/60, jenny
re 9
was just thinking the same, pug. *waves at peach*
please can you clue it for me
ursh, you are in the grid today!
re9, to make alive again
re9: with some people you shouldn't try
can't believe it, have found all the re's, yay me
whilst looking for the 9 I have found at least 10 other words but not that one
wow rose, good job!
ya Rose
Iam not getting the 9 also
okay, re + most of a beast + past tense to consume
revive just isn't there.
was halfway clueing it and then I saw rose's brilliant clue.
perhaps 'make lively again' would be one
thanks got it now
going to drag myself off to bed, goodnight all
have fun with the grid
night flosey, I hope you sleep well
night Flosey
Sweet dreams, flosey.
should work, this grid is fun so far
ty sprite, pugs, peach, be back tomorrow
good grid and good company-what more could we want
I don't see a beast.
I found the river of forgetfulness... now I have to look it up to see what it means with a lowercase.
peach: another word for beast or pet or bird or anything not human and not plant.
I dont either peach
ok, simply forgetfulness, oblivion
MEN? lol
roflollllllllll
oblivion isn't all bad. LOL
okay, re + m**, female +cl**b a mountain + past tense of to consume
Ha, pug.
sorry, read * not female, duh
you are gonna hit yourself over the he4 with a guppy when you find it. Re + spirit + partner
sorry... Re + spirit, ENDS in partner.
spirit?
oh hells bells... they are starting renovating the street behind our home now... MORE noise. God I wish they were finally done he4.
peach, try re + M**, not woman + vowel + past tense to consume
Now Sprite those people needs a job!
let me think... how is this: the female part in men (like the male part in women) according to Jung.
nope that's not right ei6....grrrr. i can be so dim.
pug, I don't begrudge them a job... but I would strongly suggest another location ;)
call me gomer pile cause I am not finding that darn word
re + m**, not female + not out + past tense to consume
Hugs Sprite I know it must be trying but you will have a better road when all is done
ok, here we go. Re + redhaired singing orphan **n*e + swans **** for life (take a partner), past tense.
gomer pile, gomer pile :)
sorry, couldn't resist *shamefaced*
OMG, I finally got it.....how dense can one person be. Thanks for
ALL of the great clues.
yay, peach, well done
*giggles* Babble blindness, peach. It happens to all of us.
yvw, peach, it was fun
pug, any luck?
I got the re-lal
yay :D Good job.
yay, pugs, well done
you know, when the river of forgetfulness is valid, why not demeter?
does it matter which re I start from
Iam getting a headache from hunting-lal
it started from the r in the 5th column
yes. You need the upper R for the 9.
Pugs - how about re + to make more cartoon like
oh, I like that one. Hi candy!
Hi Sprite and everybody.
candy, is that your baby? What a lovely child!
g'day candy
Holding breath for pugs......turning slightly blue.....
That is my nephew. He's 4 now but I love that pic. He's one of six
GOT IT! thanks everyone! My brain is gone
lovely picture!
yayyy pug :D
...and breathing again....
hiya Chrissie, lol
Oh, good for you puglet!
That pic won a prize here in one of the local newspapers
a gorgeous little cutie, candy
Hi Dee-lol hope I didnt cause you to pass out
g'day chrissie
oh I can imagine. It is gorgeous.
Thank you
Hey there, Chrissie.
Don't forget the 7 letter word without the re pugs
Hi candy1.
Hi all :)
okay thanks
Can't believe there's 79 T words in this grid
that is a whole puzzle in itself, isn't it
It sure is
I love the Cattitude icon, Chrissie, and a slightly late congratz on the one year anniversary.
ty sprite
oh, chrissie! one year already, you rock, girl. congrats
I can't believe it's a year too rose. I remember babbling to try and stay calm while waiting to go to the hospital.
yes congrats Dee--I got along way to go yet
hun, you are in God's wonderful, peaceful hands. may He support you and keep all harm from you.
and now we can celebrate with you. 3 more months till the reassessment now?
Only 2 1/2 months, but who's counting, lol
lol... you are... and we with you. Am4 to what rose said.
we are, dear, we are, right with you every step of the way
:) snap, rose
snap sprite
Pug, are you going along the same road?
I know rose, you've all held me up on many occasions x
Dee, I dont know what you mean-sorry
miscommunication, grin. Pug, if you click on Chrissie's icon, you get to see her profile and it will tell you about her operation.
You said you got a long way to go yet
oh Okay--will do----I was talking about joining babble
yeah, slight miscommunication.
Oh, i see pug, you are a regular now though
yes and Iam so glad I found this site. And Iam glad for you too Dee
see I told ya I was a gomer pile today-lal
Oh, Chrissie, honey, I did not know about this. Your most certainly are in my thoughts and prayers.
<-- luvs pug
we are a strong prayer circle, aren't we, peach.
Oh, pug, I think I resemble gomer these days.
ty pug... Off to google gomer pile
Indeed we are, sprite.
ty peach :)
what sprite said...
Yes we got a great circle of prayers
gomer pyle :D
I told Rose the other day that with the people from different places and time differences that we have prayers around the clock
If anyone wants to learn a little more.....Caroline Myss is on DVD and you will most certainly enjoy her lectures. I guarantee it.
very true
and you know what, pugs? that's what makes this site so different.
oh wow, didn't know her, looks like I need to read some of her books.
Wikipedia description "wide-eyed and slack jawed" - I'm sure that's not you any day pug
sorry had to turn on the outdoor light for annapooh to go potty(shes afraid of the dark) lal
awww that is so sweet
Dee--theres days that just might be me-lol
gomer pyle: simpleminded and gentle... you are gentle, pug, but not simpleminded :D
have to share with you folks. have just finished reading a beautiful book by taylor caldwell, called tender victory. it's quite old, but a truly great read.
I haven't read that one, Rose. I do love her writing. I read "Great and Glorious Physician" several years ago.....think you would enjoy it.
um, probably i suggested it? i know i have mentioned that book he4.
I just put that book on my list....
the story of st luke, right? it was an amazing read, i remember.
Glad you mentioned it.
looking it up now, rose... how lovely to get all these pointers to new and old reads
I would like help on a series of books I read several years ago and cant remember the titles. If anyone knows these I would be in your debt. It was back in the early 19oo about a woman who cared for an older man.after his death he left her a large sum of money and she used it to travel by stagecoach. She turns into kind of a match maker along her travels
sprite, peach, be warned, it will bring you to tears
hmmmm, pugs....will think on it. anyone else have an idea?
That's OK, Rose. I cry easily these days.
the traveling matchmaker by MC Beaton?
(((((Peach)))))
Oh thank you Sprite!
hugs Peach!! I hate it that youre so down and sad
oooh, will look for them sprite. booko here i come!!
Oh, don't worry, just lots of family stress.....just keep me in your prayers, please.
*holds peach close and surrounds her with a feeling of being protected and cared for*
we will
Have you read them Sprite?
May God bless and keep each of you safe and well.
no I haven't, I googled for you. But now that I know about them, I am gonna read them. I love Beaton.
*steps up the ante* Lord, comfort peach, and give her Your strength*
I must get ready for bed. Will be back later today...
love stories like that--I also read a series about two old sisters that took in girls to teach them proper manners--it was so funny
Good night, my peeps.
gnight Peach and you will be in my prayers
sweet dreams, peach. see you tomorrow, hun. you are in my prayers, sweetie.
Goodnight peach
sleep well, peach, and make you wake up comforted
I kind of got burned out on love stories but I do like a well written one, and if its got a bit of humor with it so much the better
the Agatha Raisin series by Beaton are fun too, pug
wrote it down Sprite-thanks
I knew a lady(she has passed on) that tat. Never seen anyone do that since. I wish I could do that
omg... I need to learn that! That looks so fun!
are you good at stuff like that Sprite
I wish now that I had took the time to learn better needle skills from my mom and grandma but wasent interested then. I wanted to be outside with the horses. I did do knitting in 4-H one year.
yes, I love knitting and crocheting and all. My grandmother used to make lace... not by tatting though... I don't know the word in english. She did it on a board with little wooden pegs, and pins to keep it in place.
if we ever get to meet, pug, we can teach you some skills :)
Bobbin Lace Making. Hi Sprite & Puglet
Iwould love to make a quilt and I love embroding(dont know the spelling)
Hi lynx
hey up lyn
hi Rose!
hi lyn :) xxx Thanks, will remember. Am still sad she didn't give her tools to me. Gave it to the second wife of my father's who never uses them.
can teach you all that, pug :) Would love to.
I remember most of the knitting but dont know how to read the books
we see both ways of making lace at our agricultural show he4 in melbourne.it's so amazing.
You should ask for them - for your daughter (just a little white lie)
not much lace in todays clothing but its still beautiful
I need to move close to you sprite-lol
I can't, we are not on speaking terms, alas. My father and her have done everything they could to make sure my sister and I didn't get a single memento of our grandparents.
you sure do, pug, lol
pugs, just wait a little longer. i had to laugh the other day. the latest fashion is leggings with sloppy to4 ...lol...i did that 25 years ago. nothing new under the sun, hun. lace will come back into fashion, you just watch.
I got a brand new sewing machion in the closet still in a unopen box. Been there for about 4 or 5 years
sounds like a good reason to start quilting Pug
I remember lace on collars
fashion repeats itself about every 20-25 years.
I go to some of these Amish sales and the quits that they make are to die for and with a price to put you under-lol
and lace on mittens, lace in dewdrops , and lace on kittens..these are a few of my favourite things.lol
roflol rose
giggle Rose
hmmm, lace on kittens?? but it rhymes.
the mother of a very close friend of mine makes quilts, by hand mostly. Very very beautiful. She made us one by machine that is great too.
well they could wear a lacy bonnet
lace on kittens = a mess of loose threads
ahh how nice Sprite--have you made on yourself
and you provide the lace..th5 you go, an outlet for you.
Cute idea pug
my mother got into quilt making when she retired - some done by hand but most done on machine. I still have quite a few
oh, you mean the kittens in lacy bonnets?
I found a baby bonnet for my pug-but shes not keen on wearing it though she looks cute in it
we use the one she made us a lot, as a blanket or throw, and she always says she loves the idea it gets used.
I bet they are beautiful Lynx
do you know of comfort quilts? They make them for people who are ill. Every part of the pattern is unique, except for one pair... and the sick person gets to find the pair.
hey, did i tell you?? my mother found my baby shoes when we were cleaning out the house. leather, with a button strap. they are about 2 inches long.
How nice Rose
There was a place down near me that used to bronze baby shoes - pity they have closed now
hard to believe these plates of me4 were ever that small, lol
Sprite thats interesting indeed. I read that in the olden days that quilts were made to tell a story
OK, gonna say something really soppy now... babble prayers and kind words are like a comfort quilt that wraps around the world, used by each of us as we need
couldnt you just see Rose's story quilt-lol
thats so sweet Dee and smart of you to come up with
awww, chrissie, that is so nice. and we all have benefited by the babble quilts
not soppy to me. I agree.
Would also like to see Ruby's story quilt :)
hi Chrissie - soppy but sweet
and awwww @ the baby shoes!
I think it would be nice to have a quilting time like they did back in the old days
and around we go again...pugs...
glad you all agree
*grins* and rose and I are the matching pair ;)
hey, wonder if we could start a world-wide quilt...imagine the story behind that one....stands in awe!!!
that would be great! Rose
oh my God... that would be so awesome.
I got my thimble ready--its a nice pretty one too
we could send a piece of material to a central person, to attach to the quilt, with a history behind the piece of the material
well, pugs, are you up to it? a postal addy would be essential. perhaps open a post office box, in lieu of your personal addy.
Lovely idea rose. There's probably a web based solution too.
chrissie, would you like to explore that avenue?
sure I am--I got a big mailbox
Sorry if I am repeating this story - when Mum retired they moved down to a largish island where they had a holiday home. Mums first achievement was to get together a lot of women on the Island to embroider and quilt a BiCentennial (or was it a Centennial?) quilt of local flora and fauna for the islands original school and now it sits in the Community Hall. It certainly cemented a lot of friendships and hundreds a local people attended her funeral in that Hall and 'under' the quilt. Very moving and special
Mental picture of pug buried under thousands of quilt squares, lol
my stitches may not be the neatest
Lovely story lynx
Nice story--do you have a picture if it lynx
hey, may not be squares...could be triangles...would need each sample to be large enough to cut to fit in..
lyn, that is amazing...
http://www.timbull.com.au/index.php?op\ntion=com_content&id=314%3Araymond-isla\nnd-historical-group-funding&Itemid=3
wow - I just googled Raymond Island quilt and this came up - this is the quilt
I love that story, lyn
I must doing some follow up on this - looks like they are doing some work on it down there - I may have some stuff in the cupboards
how old is the quilt
lyn's link has some stuff in it that the chat adds in long words. Try this one: http://tinyurl.com/ku8ozr9
wow that is a beautiful quilt, lyn!
about 25 years now
http://www.raymondisland.net/Rial.html - If you google this and then click on 1988 Back to Quilt you will some of the ladies working on the quilt...the one on the left is my mother
Have you gotten to go see it for yourself, lynx
think I will have a little sob now - the words in the article are a lot about how it all came about
*hugs lyn and holds her while sobbing* Good tears, lyn :)
hugs Lynx--
and cybergremlins ate my former message... your mother is beautiful, lyn
Wow lynx, what a find to keep for your family history
lyn, it is so beautiful.
Yes - I saw it whilst being made and of course when finished and have many photos - and I organised a fairly life size photo to be mounted for Mum which is still in the family
what a nice peice of history to leave and pass on
It is lovely to know that the quilt holds a special place in the Community down there - and what Mum started will always be remembered as long as it is around - She would be very very happy with that
Sprite; Crosshair has been so wonderful on passing me imfo on the reader. He went way beyond in giving me help
once again Meniere is in the grid and still not accepted
*giggle* lyn, great minds, did so want that word to work
tried that too
pug, I am so glad :) Our crossy is a lovely person.
lovely and extremely useful about computer stuff!
and be sure to let us know when you have got an ereader and which one, so we can get you started with books :)
(if a tad too fixated on bacon)
very true, lyn, lol... both the computer stuff and the bacon :D
He is so much better then the book for dummies-lol
now dont put down bacon-thats my favorite! I could eat it everyday
hehehe crossy beats you easily, pug :)
I seen on tv where they were deep frying it and I so want to try that!
and I love cracklings! They closed our butcher several years ago and now I cant find them. Those in the store are yucky!
ask crossy for recipes, pug... he will set you on the right track :)
wow he knows the hows on them?
absolutely. He is THE expert.
hey, pugs, you can make your own...just trim the rind off the bacon, and fry gently in pan until they crackle.
will do for sure! thanks
you like them too Rose
are you a bacon fan too
was always the best part of sunday brekky he4.
pugs, what gives you that idea, lol???
if you know how to make cracklings thats a pretty good clue
I like crackling cornbread too
the best way to make crackling on a pork roast? criss-cross the rind into diamond shapes, with a very sharp knife. rub plenty of salt into said rind before baking.
I will try that--just regular salt or sea salt
bake in a very hot oven for 15 minutes, then lower temp. for remaining cooking ti4.
regular salt works well, pugs
Sprite I hope we are not making it hard on you talking about this
I bet you are a great cook Rose
oh no, absolutely not. I enjoy food talks.
sprite is strong, pugs. i know, i have talked to the Man upstairs.
we roasted a hog and 2 turkeys underground before and it was so good
aw rose... shucks!
I like turkey very well too but not as much as bacon
I think you and Sprite are strong women
I love bacon, but in moderation. My favorite is bacon in salads.
good morning. Mr. Nasty is back from the store, trying to spoil an otherwise beautiful day!
Hi ya Mrs Ruby!
hi ruby, sorry to hear he is in a bad mood. Tell him I said hi and ask him to behave for me :)
hi Ruby
BBL - need to go and get warm!
bye lyn, have a peaceful evening and a good night
bye Lynx-hope you are feeling better
I just walked away.
did Peach leave us and I didnt see
I don't remember :(
hey ruby...and i didn't see peach leave...maybe she just faded away.
I checked and peach did say good night and we answered.
at 3.08 am
the humane soc. is letting anyone adopt a cat or dog that got some age due to them being depressed for fifteen dollars. This includes them being fixed and shots and micro chip. Thats really a good deal
wow that is a great idea
Iam losing my short term memory-lol dont remember her leaving
who's old and depressed, the adopters or the adoptees? (hi all!) ♥
*giggles* that is, if you mean the animals are being fixed and shot and microchipped and not the people.
hiya rbud :)
g'day rbud
hi rbud
the older animals--and Hi rbud
oh, dear sprite, and so did i say goodnight to her...
I wish they'd do th4 he4, I like older critters. (dang, too many common words in the grid, can barely talk, lol!)
have to go and see if he's gotten over his sit....*woof*
you did, rose, don't worry.
snit*
yeah... you are forgiven before the fact, rbud, don't worry :)
I though Ruby was trying to say another word for poo-poo-lol
lol, pugs
*giggles*
we sure have had the up and downs on here today-lal
just another day in babble chog :)
and the ins and outgs, pugs
is it monday yet for you Sprite and Rose
*outs*
monday almost over for me, pugs
for rose and lyn it is the end of Monday already. I am almost at noon on Monday. And for you it is earlier in the morning now.
yep-its 530 am
nope, sprite, dear. it's nearly 8pm he4, monday.
correction...as usual sprite is on the mark
I thought that is what I said, rose? For you it is almost the end of Monday.
oh lol... snap rose :)
I must express myself clearer
lol, snap sprite
more clearly
and DH is in the kitchen using an over-sized knife to cut up our salad...lol...at least he's preparing the meal
my goodness Rose how late do you guys eat supper
tell him to be careful, lol. My husband did the same a couple of years ago... dropped the salad... tried to catch it in a reflex... and the big knife sliced him open badly so we had to go to the ER.
it sounds like he is cutting up something more difficult than cheese, and salad vegetables
it's only 7:45 he4...is that late?
well, here in the netherlands around 18.00 is standard dinner time. But I like 20.00 just as fine.
well kind of--we usally eat about 6
I dont know those military hours Sprite
oh sweetie, sorry. 18.00 is 6 pm, 20.00 is 8 pm.
simply cannot eat until i am hungry. oh, for me that is unusually early. by having a later meal, i can fore-stall munching later in the night.
Isnt it darkish there Rose
yes, that would work fine for me too, rose. I ate well the last few evenings and not so early, and I didn't feel like having to binge later on.
absolutely, pugs. but who notices the darkness when babbling to friends.
babble shines like a beacon
okay, dinner has been served, and, i might add, smells great.. bbs

ah, nm, he came upstairs.
*giggle* and who was it who said our ti4 is our own? defintely was not married.
hehehe indeed. But I wouldn't have it any ot5 way. We still hug and kiss every time we meet again, after every separation.
and now he is making me lunch. That is the hardest thing for me... making myself something to eat. I ei6
I ei6 take something quick and easy or I don't eat at all.
what a good man, sprite. enjoy hun
will do :)
yes, he is the best. He has camped out and canoed this weekend, rose, and it went very well. No pain. But he also said that he realises some things are just too taxing now for him... he is nearing 60 and that is not the same as 20 :)
ah, good, hun. he has a weekend of revelations. now make a note of what he has said, re physical limitations.
*grin* will write it down and clip it on the clipboard here.
a huge machine with a big scoop is digging up the old pavement bricks... argh! You wouldn't believe the noise!
awww, sprite. cannot imagine how your aural senses are being assaulted.
it is maddening. But as the man said... this too shall pass....
do you have a CD player, with ear-plugs? would th4 help?
How do you know it is going to be a good day?...When the first word you find is the RE9/60 :-)...((Rose)) ((Sprite))
I will try. Couldn't handle that before, because I had to stay al5 all the time. But I think I am better now... will certainly give it a try!
hiya zooz! When the first thing you see is rose and sprite :D
yay, zooz, you the man, hun!!
Well of course, Spritey!..that goes without saying realy..but as you have now mentioned it :D
*giggle* what sprite said....good start to your day...apart from a lovely response from your ot5 half, th4 is.
*giggles* Always lovely to see you, zooz *hugs*
Is your husband back, sprite..did he have a good time?
he had a lovely time, zooz, and all went well, but he also discovered that some things are over the top for him now. I think that is good, to realise and adapt to our advancing age.
Well yes it is good he realises his limitations..and you are right..none of us are getting any younger :-(
How are you keeping, Rose..hope all is well where you are?
fireflies. Final words of course were compounds... tr7/8
Congrats, Sprite!!
I have to go, am sorry to leave you lovely people. *hugs*
WTG SPRITE!!!!

Have a great day, Sprite..lots of hugs to you.

th5's nothing like a good cuppa.

Although in my case it always ends up as four or five..lol
Have now finally remembered to turn the th5 into th7..well when op of out is also on the grid too.
yah, zooz...so know what you mean...
zooz, also he6, minus the t at the beginning
Wonders if 'Notwithstanding' would be allowed in the grid as the word count only goes upto 13?
Ooh thanks, Rose.
I suppose there could be a 25-letter word.

Bondage writing?
....well you are tied to the desk
<---Got it : D
50 Shades Of Writing : )
I m guessing it gives a different meaning to "desktop publishing"...
hi all. ;)
Hi jbv
morning, folks
Hello welki
heard you had a really nice lunch at the boathouse :)
We did. It was a great conversation and day...she is such a great oerson
hello welk
she had good things to say about you, too - a mutual admiration club in the making
hey owl
my ears burned
they must be on fire
and how is everyone this morning?
doing well, thanks - lots to do, and procrastinating is first on the list
ah, and 351 words takes procrastination to a higher level
seems to be working out that way :)
ru.. you there?
good morning all
hi, teach
hello welki
woohoo
hi, hursh
hi hursh, wvt
hiya
hello dorens
what a nice pleasant sight
why, thanks - you look lovely, too *lol*
the only thing that could make this moment better is if i had like a lemon or apple danish
and the beginning is just whizzing along. I do love the first ten minutes of big grids
i miss the whizzing since i switched to the one tile at a time method, but i do find more without listing that way.
see like now, with a little persistence, i have just finished off the first A before i move on to the E
I know what you mean, I sometimes do one tile at a time, but couldn't resist this one with all the e's, d's, r's, and s's
ah, water sprite
oh thanks, see you're on to the n's now
was, now on second A
one of them is eluding me
think domo arigato, dr ....
dr who? lol
i have all but 3 of the**, but i'm sure it's one that i'm missing
if you have to draw cartoons you can change the end vowel for another 7
ty, now i have all but 2
hello doren
hi owl, how are you?
ok. no luck on the real estate front though
buying, selling, or both?
have to go to nj, perhaps a visit?
sorry to hear that... things are selling much more quickly around here these days
selling
:(
pre approved buyers are not guaranteed a mortgage. say they go out and buy furniture; if it is tight, they will be denied
but i do have an interesting story, cannot share it here though
so what's the point of pre approving them?
poo
ok, email me the interesting story. i'm leaving shortly tho poo to annie
sometimes pre approval is confused with pre qualification
ok, was not sure where you were.
poo to Owl for not telling story. poo back to you, dorens
:P
i'm home... watching son's dog for 2 1/2 weeks, so not straying too far
it is a story about people taking care of things rom the beyond. i think that can happen
so this isn't a legally bound not to tell it here issue
i am lazing about, because it makes no sense to et all cleaned up then go mow. but i should be doing inside cleaning
no hurshy, forgive me for mentioning anything.
'sok :)
bbl
i've reached halfway. I'm out now!
i got all but one on that second A, the L and the D, and now 40 of the M's.
kin i get more M's?
or should i go ahead to i's?
aha two more M's
need help with the 9 please

ty. j is grey.
i'm just saying, there are a lot more than 3 kings. there were a whole slew of tme.
*them.
je 4/11 - je + who - w and change the o to another vowel.
most of them did evil in the eyes of the Lord. but there were a few who weren't too bad.
hursh -- just now thought of you -- Brit version antiques Roadshow appraiser looking at 17th century carved german box brought by owner to winchester cathedral (her ancestor was in king charles' wedding party and box was gift to attendants) commenting on buxom woman carved into top . . . "I don't believe this is a representation of the queen - she's a bit too Nell Gwyn-ish" . . . LOLOLOL!
:) :) :)
the items people bring in for appraisal are AMAZING
Those who needed the je 4/11, did you get it? If not I'll try to post another clue.
now have je4/11 and 4/9 -- missing one . . .
je 5/24 - holy war
je 5/24--holy war with a different first vowel
tx!!
Good day to all. I am waiting for my next patient to arrive so I thought I'd come to Babble Land.
Hi Scrabbs!
hey scrabs . . .
How is everybody?
okay and you, scrabbs?
not bad, and you?
Don't know if this is needed but I'll post one more clue for je 4/11 - je + **man/person.
I didn't sleep well but I am keeping the crankies away. I have the afternoon off so I will get my hair cut and then stay outdoors on a beautiful summer day.
enjoy, scrabs :-)
That is a funny name for cereal
need to get crackin' -- BBL *poof*
Hi Ruru--still in NYC?
Hi Folks
Crankies. lol
Buon giorno, Hego!
Yep
(great cincy final yesterday, eh ru?!)
That's my term--keeping the crankies away. Or, not becoming Miss Cranky Pants.
I watched much of the tennis yesterday--great finals.
I just wwanted
I went through the adirondacks right now...now in vermont
Oh, gorgeous country, Ruru! I left Keene Valley in the Adirondacks last SUnday after a 6 days stay.
nice trip Ruru.
Anybody have 8's? I have re8 only.
te8 tipsier
scrabby:)) should of been up here with the mrs and i yesterday.we took a lovely 4 hour hike on the bruce trail and had a nice lunch and swim at the base of a waterfall:)
Aw, wonderful, Crossy! I would have loved it.
I am still working on that clue, mixi.
we are so fortunate, the bruce trail winds all through our area:)
et 8 - fleeting re 8 - swim te4 again st 8 - part of a flower st 5/7/8 combo - water as a gas
I hiked in the park with my sister and we found a patch of ripe blackberries and ate them til we were full.
te8 is pt
there ya go:))
but i have discovered that in the last year that i have become sadly out of shape
TY for et8. I think I know the first 5 letters of st8 flower part.
yum scrabs...we had blackberries here, but they have stopped growing
just a 2hour hike in and out and i was cooked!
Baby steps, Crossy.
The blackberries will continue to ripen in the next few wks so I will return.
Tough ascent, Crossy?
some peole actually take the entire summer and fall off and hike the bruce for 3 month solid!
yes,were some steep inclines
I found an st 7 and 8 related to endurance/strength, not a flower part.
there is lots of st5 in a sauna
Crossy, I am reading about the Bruce Trail now and I see it begins in Queenston.
Oops, that was my bad. I put flower and I should have put endurance/strength. I looked at the wrong word when typing out the clues.
I have the st5/7/8 combo.
it is a very long trail indeed, scrabby
I still cannot figure out the te8--tipsy word.
Oh no wait. My clue for the st 8 flower part is right, according to Dictionary.com.
like the see-saw...pt
it means both boat
te 6/8 combo - to be unsteady.
the bruce is 900k long:)
te6/8/7
and that leads into a good crossy tidbit of the day!! The Bruce Trail has also attracted other long distance events. In 1995 distance runner Scott Turner set a record for running the brucetrail end-to-end in 14 days, 5 hours and 58 minutes
I got it now. Past tense for wobble.
:)
Maybe the Bruce Trail will be a destination for my sister and I.
I must start my day, bye dear babblers
you would love it,scrabby:)
Bye Annie
scrabby, you can get all the needed info here... http://brucetrail.org/
I am happiest when in the woods.
te 5/6/7/7 combo
I already found that a few minutes ago, Crossy.
Are those the dental words, boat?
Yes :)

Go Jilly! lol

oops Cheryl
Annie is bipolar today.
lol
I am having a day when I am REALLY clumsy in an embarrassing way- when I am with clients--and I am really feeling crappy about being a dork
It makes me want to go to sleep
Well, that's relatively harmless.
A nice nap might fix everything.
bipolar and my OCD kicked in today too
It's CDO when really bad annie...
I really should be doing some tasks but babbling more fun...
Maybe a nap for Annie too. :)
COD is even worse. and hi Jilly
When I start getting clumsy I get really self-conscious and then I get worse, and I start real-time babbling
Great, now I want a nap....
Well, Kaplan face it, your human
Oh, sorry Kap.

Sorry Jilly too.

how's my old neighborhood doing, annie? always liked this time of year down by the sea
hi jilly, hego
Hi Welks
hi welki! :-)
it's doing. however, we are still a mess from super storm Sandy. Now we have sewage pipes laying on the ground (new ones) otherwise the ocean is still beautiful and gives peace.
is lundy's still around?
(who am i kidding - i like the ocean all times of the year - and miss it terribly)
No, Lundy's is now a Russian gourmet supermarket. Can you believe it? I thought Lundy's would be here forever.
oh for pete's sakes - nothing is sacred. i used to go there with my father as a little girl and eat oysterettes while he slurped a few
The whole neighborhood is Russian. They call it Odessa by the Sea. My building ids 95% Russian speaking people.
real oysterettes? the little hexagonal nabisco ones?
parts of queens are like that, too
yep, real oysterettes. dad would have some little necks or cherrystones and i had oysterettes (and thought it was a BIG deal)
We have a big russian community here too
welki, remember the shore dinner at Lundys. Yes and Sheepshead Bay is almost Russian. Brooklyn has the largest Russian population in the US.
i miss them. the big ones they have here in bars are awful
did you evern split them and butter the insides?
annie, i attended kingsborough for a semester or two - when the classes were held in the old quonset huts
Owl, Yes I did. Ummy beyond belief.
:)
i split them, but didn't butter them - what a good idea, though!
it was quite the trick to get them to open without crakcing th4
welki, Kingsborough is a beautiful campus. They even have a beach.
owl, the ones that broke went intothe clam chowder.
mmmmmmmmm ... clam chowder
i am starving. time to think about dinner.
welki, steamers, lobster, mussels
little necks, cherrystones, clam chowder - makes my sushi pretty unsatisfying
steamers!!
We made Owl hungry.
nah, i am already hungry. light lunch today
steamers, dip in the broth, then butter, then yummmy
mussels i can get here - they're shipped in from nova scotia and are delicious. lobster, crab (dungeness, though) i can get here too - but steamers, real piss clam steamers - haven't seen them and now i want them!
blue claws.
come to brooklyn, welki and we'll go to Garguilios
ohhhh, and soft shelled crabs - my kingdom (or queendom) for soft shelled crabs!
well, c ome back.
owl, we used to summer in ocean city, maryland and would buy them by the bushel - steamed with some old bay, it was a feast
soft shell crabs rank right up there with lobster and steamers.
you know i would, owl
there was a tiny little place on the way to montauk called the fish shack that had the best soft shelled crab sandwiches - **memories**
there was a place in Cape May that had great soft shell crab sandwiches too
everywhere around here has great ss crabs this time of year.
*sniffle*
hego, are you at the shore?
Awww....there, there Welki.
Yes Annie, I am.
then you are having a feast
clue pleawse for re 9/60

lolol so much for the 9.
sometimes, when we're at the lake, there's a marshy, salty smell - if i close my eyes and the waves are making a little noise, i can almost .... maybe i need to have a (dungeness) crabfest over the long weekend :)
The first 4 clues were good, but the 5th was the winner. : D
right Molly
thanks annie... off i go
raw bar, chowder, steamed crabs, lobster, fried softshell crab sandwiches, mussels and oysterettes in the pb :)
(and we'll through in makings for pastrami sandwiches - for those who don't partake in shellfish)
Welki is self torturing.
welki, youre the best

annie, when i was young, i used to waitress at the richelieu
that was on 86th Street, no longer there
and at the gerritsen diner
OK, gotta take a break....210 left *poof*
Im not sure about the gerritsen diner, it might still be there
hmmm - not the gerritsen, can't remember the name
<---thinks 86th st is paradise.
if it wasnt destroyed by Sandy...Gerritsen got it very hard
the flame - it was the flame in gerritsen beach
sheesh, it was only 40+ years ago!
Hi every one
I think the Flame is still there. I'll check it out in a few days.
The best seafood (and corn) I ever had was at my Uncle's house. He had a good old fashioned clam bake.
neil?
on the beach, coals in the sand? can't beat it
hello, rocky
I just got back from camp had a blast
sob...I've got SO many words, how can there be 70 left!?!
dinner time.
Hi Rock...sniffle..
Hey all!
Hey Car!
hi car.
Hello gorgeous!
hello beautiful!
Speaking of my uncle (who lived in Marshfield) Hi Car
Hello amazing!
27 left for later, have to start thinking about dinner. bye
i wonder if you could even do an old fashioned clam bake on a public beach these days - the 'local authorities' might frown on the wood fires and piles of rocks in the pit - do you know, molly?
she must mean us....
hi car
Some beaches around here allow it.
You just need a permit.
that's heartening to know that some traditions can still be carried on :)
Especially that one
I am missing 1 i word...any guesses which one?
no..none
I will pull up the list then.
Got it! IT 5/12
yay
hi all 121 words left here. just up from a lovely nap
Hello darling!

Yes!
ok, no one has ever called me darling before
at least not on babble
Sorry, I will never do it again, dearest!
:)
That's all I'm calling you from now on, Peri.
um..I mean Darling.
Oh, please don't
Let's try this over...Hello Peri!
Oh, okay
Hello car and hego

Hello glantrell!
gapeach, the sh7 rhymes with hansel's sister. it's a jewish term
That is too bad, TO. People can be so manipulative.
Hi Jillly, how ya doin?
you got that right. i was trying to give away my extra hotel rooms for the festival, but it seems that $200 per night for a marriott suite with breakfast and dinner that is plenty big to share is just too darned expensive. :/
Thanks, Gwen. Looking

Yeah, a decent hotel room in New York is expensive. I would ask Annie or Dorens, who live in the area.
$150 seems to be the norm. I am cheap LOL and not the nrm.
Or Minv too
Trust me when I tell you, you do NOT want to get a cheap hotel room in New York.
so I understand. I have seen some of the tripadviso reviews

Thanks Penquis, will consider Revere in Boston
No idea where Norfolk is in the US - my brother lives in Norfolk UK :-)
Jill, just for the record, I had a very bad experience with VRBO. Renting something sight unseen is a risk.

Don't over think it Phan.
I won't, I am actually not terribly anxious, but I haven't done this in about 20 years.
Be confident in yourself. You are well qualified for their position. It's just a matter of having a conversation about that. I will think good thoughts for you.

There is a variant spelling of it with an h in the middle too.
I hadn't tried that as I thought I had that word already but that was a 7/32...
Right after the doper, which is kind of funny when you think about it. : D
excellent, thanks again.
agreed, Molly, I was amused by that word being in the puzzle.
can someone clue the te 7/28 please?

Good clue Phan
thnx, I couldn't think of a more cleaver way to do it.
It's a tough one. We don't think in terms of three consonants at the start of a word.
especially that combination of 3 ltrs!
Earlier, everyone seemed to know it from Fiddler On The Roof. But honestly, I have seen that movie a bunch of times and that word didn't stick in my head.
really? Fiddler? hmmm.

hi
oops
hi all!
hi
Eh, the PB is almost a thing of the past. People blurt out words and almost words in the chat all the time these days.
hi, molly and pen!
Hi Sue
really liking the skins vs. the steelers game!
hi phan! Seems too early for football!
Hi Sue!
I can't watch preseason. Regular season stresses me out enough. I'm glad the Skins are looking good though.
my pet peeve is spelling grid words with ** in chat....only draws attention to the word...seems like it's clueing without being asked for a clue....
hi bugs!
I wouldn't be watching if it weren't for the husband.
You mean people who chat in grid words? Yeah, that seems unnecessary. As for cluing without being asked for a clue, people blurt out clues that are not asked for all the time. That I don't get.
me either...
If no one needs any clues, I will go and fold the laundry I washed earlier today...
but I would be more than happy to stay and clue...
I don't need any clues, thanks Phan.
em6/7
well, I need about 184 of them, phan, so I will just keep looking :-)
I just need 8
the usual 1st 3 ltrs + a metal and a vowel.
Oh...I just got Pen's joke. Using a grid word to respond to my statement. Cute.
ty phandmd
haha, I hadn't caught that...
see?....people would not normally notice....as it should be....
em + most common vowel + the prong of a fork....
point excellently made.
drop the last letter for the shorter word
ty!
The way it used to be, part of being clever with your words was to avoid using the grid words. Like saying "I don't get that as well".
That is what I try to do...
Good Evening All. I opened this and started the grid sometime either last night or early this AM and now just realized houw big this grid is....
i like that way of being clever, molly...
hi nef
But then you can fall right into it when commonly used th words are in the grid.
well, I guess I better fold that laundry, it isn't going to fold itself...
like Nef just did...
Let me know if it does : D
well if no one calls attention to words in chat, they often don't make much of an impression....
I sure wish it would.
DUH. Off to PB for me (but I have choclits and ingredients for s'mores too.... ;-)
I love chocolate and smores.
yumm!
me, too!
is there a fire pit in the pb?
if there is, it might get crowded...
