I'm blind too, ruru, as usual when it comes to biggies.
Hope not - for her sake.
Well, I guess we'll find out eventually.

Hi all :)
night Flosey
Joso, hope the move went well.
Howdy Liz
hi liz
I'm sure Rose is fine. It takes a while to get over anaesthetic - it's only just 2 days.
you are probably right
Also - we don't know whether she had the short or long surgery. I'm not going to worry until I have something to worry about.
yeah, she thought she'd be on the next day
just learned my dear, and only, neice who underwent double mastectomy, had chemo and was nasty, was 'cured' and she seemed fine, now finds it has gone to her brain - more chemo and etc
not really worried liz, don did say she was ok, just hoping to hear from her
Oh Flosey - that's tough!
I think perhaps tomorrow or the next day - I wouldn't expect today!
oh flosey, that's horrible
was quite a blow
oh no Flosey, will send out prayers for you and her
ty pugs
I wish your niece well, Flosey - thoughts and warm wishes to her.
how old is she Flosey
Warm thoughts to the family, too. Tough on all of you, too.

but the third one has a lovely sense of humor

I am sending her good energy, Flosey
thanks jbp
might someone be able to clue me on the bottom E and C... I si32ly need help
I wish ...!
also not in the puzzle... centrist.
I need clues for all over this grid! either my brain has filled with air or it is just plain hard this morning
your brain's not hard, flosey!
I've only just reached half way. Tough grid for me.
well, i'm working my way toward nbt and halfway... slow slow going.
ce4/5, 5/12, ce6/21 and ce7/36
it is for me too Liz--down to 86
Don't have nbt or nbs!

I never remember where they start
Ah! Don't have a ce 7
ce 4/5; 5/12; 6/21; 5/12; 4/5

CE 7/36 from the bottom C
sorry
clue on the ce7?
Hi, Sue!
Found it!
no need to be sorry; we all babble differently.
Hi! Pertaining to the middle.
Situated in the middle. Like a series of circles might be but without con in front.
ty ty ty!
i don't even know how many times I typed in centrist....
ce7 - same 4 letters, 3 first of boy's nickname
I was fiddling around the word for a long time too.

Be well, Pugs. Hugs.
hugs back Liz
Funny that. About to go and found 3 more, so happy to have 100 / 85.
good for you!
good morning all
Morning Sprite! hugs :)
hi pug! *hugs* And thanks for your sweet hug card. Any more news from rose?
Havent heard a thing
you are welcome too
ok, me neither. Still recuperating from the op, I think.
she must be! She thought she'de be on today
yes, I was hoping she'd be. But so many things can come in between... pain, tired, too busy with hospital stuff...
this is not a very friendly grid----or its not for me
at least it is a decent size. All those baby grids were getting to me.
how are you today?
okayish. And you? And your sister?
I havent slept very much--Iam tired but just cant seem to rest
why just okayish? You feeling yucky
aw sweetie, that is so taxing :( Are you worrying?
sister is doing very good so far
lot of pain, very tired, kind of not looking forward to the few chores I have to do today.
I dont think I am--dont really have much on my mind
oh wow, that is good news! Am so glad. Your sister (and you) deserved a break.
Maybe you should just put it off then and rest
Hi again - hi sprite, hugs.
Loved your puzzle on jigidi.
well, 3 must be done or everything goes wrong. The rest... later, some other day, yeah.
we have a winter storm coming in tomorrow and its to be a three day deal
hi Liz, am so glad!
Hi again Liz---oh yeah I went and worked it too--I liked it as well
oh, pug, that might be why you cannot sleep. Storms like that can be felt long before by sensitive people. Gives a mighty load of unrest.
Will look for one of jillis tomorrow.
glad you enjoyed it. Will make more. Am thinking of making one with Delft Blue (dutch porcelain) and one with tulips.
Hope you'll be ok in the storm, pugs.
I looked for Jill's but didnt find any--is she using a different name
That sounds lovely, sprite.
no, she uses jillibus, just like here
Jilli uses Jilli us
As sprite said. Autocorrect!
stupid autocorrect
Ah! But sometimes suggests words I've missed.
Sprite do you have alot of tulips around your home
in spring, yes, pug. Lots in the garden. And all over the neighbourhood.
oh lol Liz, that is ok th4.
Time to sort dinner! Bye for now. Hugs again :)
bye Liz, enjoy *hugs*
your country is famous for them --are they not
bye Liz
yes, we are. We have fields and fields of them in spring, in all kinds of colours. I will try and include some pics with fields of tulips in the puzzle too. Just thinking... I could also make one with windmills and one with wooden shoes. Do a whole dutch tour. Would be fun making them too.
thats one flower I dont ;have planted here. It comes up so early that usually they get snapped by cold spells and I just dont waste my time and money with them
oooh yeah---sounds like a perfect puzzle for sure
smart, pug. They are pretty hardy, but frost in the early stages kills them off indeed.
lol ok... 4 puzzles planned. Will make one today, probably. Just what I am in the mood for, lazy sitting behind the 'puter making something pretty.
which one first, pug? Porcelain, tulips, windmills or wooden shoes?
sounds like a winner to me. Just enjoy yourself, life's too short----I bet it smells heavenly there when they are all bloomed out
porcelain what? dishes, teapots?
yes, we are blessed with flowers here. Tulips, daffodils, tiny blue grape-like flowers, hyacinths, and all smelling nice.
porcelain everything. Dutch porcelain, knows as Delft Blue.
oh and by the way I just loved the windmill cookies
pug, examples of the famous porcelain: http://tinyurl.com/p8upond
is this something you collect? And I like that ideal for the first
okay
oh am glad! Speculaas, that is. A dutch specialty. Spiced cookies. The thick cookies are the same, but bigger.
no, I don't collect it, but lots of people do. And we have museums with real pricey stuff from old.
am so happy the package is making you happy :)
it does as do your friendship
you deserve it so much, dear friend. It warms my heart that you are enjoying it.
I havent seen very many on this morning at all and those that did was not on long at all
ok, Delft Blue it is for the first puzzle. I think I will do Babble first, then do the rotten dishes, and then hit the puzzle. Worst thing for the day done then, so I can take my time.
Joso did pop in for a few--hes made his move
we are missing rose and joso, of course...
ah, good! How was he doing? Tired and a bit sad?
He didnt really say much really--but I bet he is both
yeah, I can imagine if he is. *sending lots of energy and warm rays of sunlight to joso*
Havent heard a peep from Dee nor Peach either--guess its hump day-lol
definitely, lol
lol found an 8-letter word with only one syllable.
havent seen anyone claiming fws either unless OO has it--He popped on once I think unless I was hallunating then-lol
a really quiet morning then, pug. We need our friends to pop in at least once :)
Yes it has been--lol--guess by my rattling on about it ,it must be bothering me
clearly :) It is at least half of the fun, having our friends around while playing, isn't it.
it is--it gives your eyes and brain a break from the grid
very true. Well, am glad you are on, at least we have eachother.
so true! Iam sure someone will pop in sooner or later
how was your busy day in town?
when a regular isnt on it makes your worry about them
yeah, but I always remind myself that real life comes first, and they can have a truckload of legitimite reasons to be off line without there being problems.
legitimate... oh my, now it all looks funny. Looking up spelling now... :D
tiring--got a late start due to company popping in so that put me about an hour or more in town
We were in town from 11am til 4:30pm
oh that can be so impracticle, unexpected company. Messes up your whole schedule.
I know and you cant be rude
well, one could, I suppose, but we don't want to. They don't deserve it and we don't want to hurt their feelings.
true
the workmen are back here, in the streets. Planting trees and shrubs. Lots of unrest and noise, but at least we can see things prettying up now. Will be interesting in Spring, to see what it all is :)
It will be worthwhile Iam sure
Isnt it winter there?
I think so too. Looking forward to it.
it is autumn. Winter in a few weeks. Weather is holding though, not much frost yet.
do you know what trees and bushes they are planting
no, not the foggiest.
depending how the storm slides through our state we are looking at 4 to 11 inches of snow and then a mix and teen temps over the week end and today its to be 63
aw sweetie, so cold and unpleasant :( I hope you will be warm enough.
is your country devided into states like ours? And if so what is your guy's state flower and tree
well (knock on wood) we have a good furnace and plenty of fuel--if nothing happens to the furnace
lol no, we are way too small for that. The whole of the Netherlands could dance around in any of your states and have room left for a sleepover. We have 'provincies', though. Not sure we carry flowers or trees. Will check.
bad thing about winter storms you never know when it might knock out the electric
each provincie has a flag and a weapon (heraldic weapon I mean). That is all.
oh okay
true. Storms can be so messy. I hope you will be spared any extra stress.
yeah me too--but I much rather have the snow then that darn ice---Ice is not nice to a fat person-lol
*hugs pug* I know. Very much dislike the ice.
and I dont iceskate at all!
me neither, anymore. Can't, since my pregnancies.
I love watching iceskating on tv--the pairs and singles==thats awsome Sprite that you can
I dont see how anyone can stand on a knife blade
oh yes, that is a true sport. I like to watch it too.
my favorite skater is Scot Hamiton--dont know if you know him--but hes getting up in age now
I truly stink at remembering names.
and here I thought you were perfect at everything--lol
lololol! Yeah right.
its dates for me!
stink at remembering dates too.
and this last year Iam finding alot of things Iam not remembering
age is creeping up on us too, lol.
I hate it when I put something up for saftkeeping and then cant remember the safe place-lol
lol! I know, right? Never put things in a safe place, you'll never find them again. Or years later, when you don't need them anymore and you are looking for something else.
fireflies. Good grid. But lots of hard words.
thats exactly it!
wow Sprite! congrats
only took ten minutes and thats with me talking your leg off too
ok, off with me. Time for the freakin' dishes, and then puzzle making :D
enjoy Sprite! :) hugs and love until tomorrow
roflolllll yeah sure, pug! Over an hour, more like. And I truly enjoy your talking.
*hugs* to you, my best wishes to your sister and I will be looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
good day friend
bye Joso and other friends out there--take care
good morning everyone:))
Morning babblers
Nine
good morning. Sunshine but bitterly cold
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
I shouldn't talk about the cold to you! I haven't talked with you at all. How did your tests turn out?
the teeth are a ongoing thing, ruby.am on antibiotics for gum issues and see him again friday. if you mean the three herniated neck disks, the MRI has been done and i see my family doc on the 9th

wakey, wakey, scwabby.i have been here since 05:00

Yes, when the alarm goes off during deep sleep.
dromedary day
and it is real good sleep too and you have found the most comfortable position ever
ZZzzzz......but I am on-call so will have a busy day on the office. The on-call doc must field all questions from nurses and from the ER
busy day indeed
But I just found ce7 by myself, so my brain is awakening.
i see the goose is here today
Haha. I found ce7 but not the goose. TY.
two ce 7s
OK, I will look for the other
Hi all :)
Hi Liz.
morning babblers
howdy,annie,liz
Good morning, Annie & Bobby
hi crossy
Wasn't liking this grid earlier this afternoon - not liking it now!
con in front of one often is used with circles c + a word for sexually stimulating for another
I am starting to dislike it after finding 53.
Hi Scrabbs, right now Bobby is shaving
ne8= dead tissue
I've got 82 left to find. But I worked on it for a while earlier today.
two ci 7s
Tell him I'll shave soon too
This grid is not my friend
TY, Crossy
np:)
Bobby says "oh boy". I should him the post where you said good morning to him and he smiled and was pleased.

Hi Haz :)
tyvm haz;))
Haz's clue is better!
Good morning/afternoon all!
For the or 6, I mean.
Hi Haz
Hello, Haz. Have any snow to play with?
Hello, o-o. No, thankfully a heavy frost is the most we've had so far.
freezing rain is coming down hard and heavy here.going to be a rough day on the roads
Rather heavy snowfall yesterday ... those not paying attention or in a hurry found some ditches or worse
We will have a warm day again, 3rd in a row, which sadly means our snow is melting, but we will get back to winter on Friday. I want to snowshoe again this weekend.
ke 7/48= sounds like a type of energy but spelled a tad different
You can't afford not to pay attention when driving in snow, that's for sure.
phones and texting while driving tsk tsk
I must get ready for work. Enjoy the day everyone.
tc,scrabby
That's something I've often wondered about - I see US programmes with people speaking on cell phones while driving - is that legal or are they being careless?
Be well and safe, Scrabbler
Have a good day, Scrabbs
Bye, Scrabbler.
here in canada, haz,it is illegal to talk on cells and drive
how about texting?
unless you have a wireless bluetooth thing going and can do it hands free
Here too, but a huge number do so.
Yes, same here, but I've seen it so often that I wondered if it's acceptable in the States.
Texting and driving is a no-no in the US
Basically, over here you're not supposed to have a cell phone in your hands at all while driving. If you're involved in an accident, even if you're the innocent party, your phone will be taken for analysis to make sure that you weren't using it.
natures way of removing idiots from there gene pool.rest of us just have to stay out of their way till they are finished
Good morning!!!
car!!
How are you feeling Crossy?
Good morning, car.
Hello Haz! Long time! How are you?
I'm fine, thanks. How are you and the boys?
My own belief is that my fellow denizens believe everything is legal as long as you don't get caught.
Wonderful! Zack turns 11 tomorrow...can't believe it!
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!!
Back in the 1800s, composer Franz Liszt was worshiped like a rock star. In fact, he received so many requests for locks of his hair that he eventually bought a dog, only to snip off patches of its fur to send to his admirers.
Is this the point where he starts shooting up and needing new shoes and trousers every other week?
doing ok,car.more appts on friday and dec 9th as well
That is hysterical! Rock on Liszt!
We just bought him new sneakers and they are a "man" size...not boys!! :(
Hi car - they grown up very fast!
yes it is. people should know rocks have no hair
Hi Lizlin!
they grow like weeds at that age
I almost started to cry in the store!
He doesn't want to grow up. He is very upset about it.
good morning all
Growing up's OK, as long as he still has fun.
Hi peri.
Hi Peri!
tell him you need him to get big and strong so you can have help to move heavy things around the house
Whee! Found an 8!
howdy peri
Poor Zack, he hasn't much choice in the matter.
That will make him cry more!
Good morning, peri.
I know. He really is such a sweet kid.

morning, zooz
Hello, Annie :-)
Hello, zooz. Don't let o-o tell you that it's a walk in the park, it's a tricky grid for sure.
bl
60 left. Time to call it a night. Def too much effort for this time of night. Enjoy your days everyone.
maybe not a walk in the park ... more like a boogaloo down broadway
lol
Bye, peri, Lizlin.
Take care, Liz :-)
More like walking through mud.
Or wading through treacle.
My redundancy remains pertinent ... the words are easier to find once you have found them.
Hi Zooz!

good morning, all --- just found the re 8-9 I was too tired and blind to find last night :)
got first 4 letters of re 10 bt stuck after that
put the king on the *****. (sits down)
last six letters are what the king sitsd on
ty wvteach, got 'em
ruru don't know how it got that way and I changed it to 15% from i25 . I woukd be glad to take instructions
my experience with the icons in here is that, you change them, and it looks like you saved the changes, but they don't get saved, and you go it again, about 17 times, then you give up. so, i don't know how to fix it!
its not staying at 15% after I click out
(that's why i just don't bother changing my icon any more)
ce 5, following the pennies, please?
ce5 is a penny plus a vowel
also drawing a blank on the ci 7's

ty wolvie -- was trying to work around that -- missed the last letter

ok,i will bite.now i need the i5
and if you tell me it is the pl of i 4,i will lose it;)
ir 6: most of the good night girl + end of facial twitch
Sheets of ice is pretty much a given for me when it snows - we are on a steep hill, and by the time two or three cars have slid down it, it's sheet ice.
Nice clue nan, ty
* good night girl of old old song
Ic*** - a gerund - put on cakes, or volunteered by freezing rain on the streets.
Sorry - thought you were looking for ic6 - I had a dreadful time with it, don't usually think in plural.

I badly broke my ankle so I couldn't move and don't have a lap top. Bye sammys
funny, I've been nonweightbearing for 6 weeks due o foot surgery.
Sorry to hear about your ankle..
Told you not to do those cartwheels.
boy, can I commisserate with you Hego! It has only been 2 for me and I am going nuts
world class boring, I can tell you.
It is much better since yesterday when they took the stitches out. I can now sit up long enough to find words for a while!
Only my laptop has kept me alive.
I can walk now but it's pretty painful'
LOL about the cartwheels. I was carrying a borrowed glass coffee pot and didn't break it when I slipped or again when I tried to stand on it.
It was tougher than you!
broken ankle , ouch!!
So maybe I can walk after 6 weeks of this? I know the surgeon has to xray it first but I was not sure if he would decide on a walking cast or just start on physiotherapy.
usually it's 6 weeks for fractures.
But you have to get the okay first.
yes, but after 6 weeks of no weight-bearing, then what?
PT comes after weight bearing usually.
then they let you stumble around with a walker.
the hospital sent me home with a handful of very strong painkillers but if I don't move much I don't need more than a regular strength Tylenol. The nurse said to save them for physio
uh oh
I never took mine either.
I start PT next week.
was your surgery successful Hego? or is it too early to tell yet? I sure hope so. I would not recommend this to anyone
Doc says it looks great. we'll see.

Hey Molly and Peri...We had my husbands military internment at Arlington Nat'l Cemetary Oct 10...it was beautiful but I cried through almost the whole thing...it was perfect for him he would have been so proud! This is a rough year and I must say yesterday I was putting up wreaths on my windows and filling the porch planters with greens and I stood back and said he would have loved it...then came those ole' tears...I'll never have more sadness than gladness and joy...what a life we had...so much the right man for me! Thank you for all your love and kind words...they mean a lot. Hugs, Marilyn
I have been though this MP and my heart goe out to you.
(((((
The first year is indeed very tough.
((((Marilyn))))
The first time I had to say "widow" was so rough...I even stuttered...still don't like to say it.

I seem to be walking on eggshells in Babble these days, for fear of offending somebody. Apologies to those I have offended....... And to those I have yet to upset!
You haven't offended anyone Soods. How could you
i knew what you meant, soodle... ;o)
i have decided that I hate this grid...
Hello babbleworld!
Lol, Bich! I'm Irish. I can cuss for 20 minutes without repeating myself. So I know how to deliberately offend folk. It troubles me that I can cause offence unintentionly. :-(
I am apathetic about grids ... find one word; then another ...
LOL...guess that theory will work for me today...
hey guys
just getting started here
Hi rows!
how's it going?
<----chants "one word at a time...one word at a time...
"We don't mess around, hey!"
Hello. Just logged in and looking at the chat instead of the grid. Need to focus! Hello to all.
hi
hey pen
Hi penquis. We are enjoying clear but near freezing weather today in the great Northwest.
Hello grandmere!
It is FREEZING cold here...double layer dressings
clear and mid thirties here right now....coastal Maine...
Hi Jilly seeing the weather reports about Montana, I am not suprised you are doubling up on warmth. We haven't started our fireplace because so far we can bring the house temperature to 68.
Our chimney is scheduled for inspection Monday. House fine with zonal hot water heat. But family room too cold without fire....
Front has even been given a name (don
t know it) but it is stretching into CA, Tx...etc
We did the fireplace cleaning and repairs in November. Started in October but it was the next month before the repair man could work us into his schedule.
How about calling it Earl E. Arctic Winter.
come down to Honduras, jill, it's nice and warm here
i'm wearing a tank top and thin linen trousers
That is fine, Rows. Enjoy the tropics. We love to hear about other parts of the world.
Hi all :)
Hi Liz! Nice to see you on the grid. I am just abouty ready to start an early supper.
You must be very strong to be wearing a tank ... must be like a light tank ... maybe a Sheridan ...
heading out...bbl....bye all...
It is "winter strom Cleon"
Bon appétit, stidg
Any clues for ei 7 pls?

Hi Peach - haven't heard anything since after the op. I'm sure she's just taking time to recover and get over the anaesthetic.
Thanks, Jilly.
Thanks, Lizlin. Was getting a little concerned. HOw are things with you?
All's fine here, thanks. I'm sure if there's any news, we'll hear, otherwise, Rose will appear herself, when she feels up to it.
How are you?
Rose emailed rubyfoo to tell here she was resting comfortably
I'm OK.....just vertigo.
Thanks so much, o-o.
I had a similar email - from Don, rather than Rose.
Finally....nbt/nbs (still chanting o-o's advice)

If that is the one, you can get 5 words from it.

Add 1st 3 of Lucy's husband

Thanks much, Unea and mab.
two ce5/14's
Thanks also, harp.
I'm down to 4 and it's like pulling teeth.
gerund ending on the en8/55. It builds off of an en6 and en7.

No problem. I'm down to 30. I'm giving myself 13 more minutes before I break out the list.
May I please have a clue for ci7-36? Thanks
First four of movie + ***tintin
not me, i went straight for the list!
Have that one, smith.....need ci7-36.....thannks
I waste way too much time trying to get as many as possible without the list unless I'm pressed for time. I usually cut it down to the wire.
Oh, sorry. I don't have that one. My eyeballs are failing me.
I know what you mean.
Thanks for looking, smith.
sounds like the way someone lisps would talk about a well? ci7
Got it. Thanks! That was a great clue.
lol, it's only because i don't know what the word actually means!
si6/24? either one?
They are both variations (or extensions) of the word meaning to put your John Doe on something.
darn grid, i was looking up and over but not down.... thanks
You're welcome.
I'm having trouble with the lisp one.....know what it means....still trying.
NM, got it. Thanks much, harp.
It makes me think of one of the houses in Harry Potter, but with a 'c' instead of an 's' and without the 'l'.
I remember diana Ross in Black Dracula "oh, my goodness, there is a c7 in the cellar..."
Spelled differently but it is what springs to mind.
(if you happen like dumb bad old movies...)
Blackula was the name of the film...
Lol. I don't think I knew that there was a Black Dracula.
re5-10 the 1st please....thanks....down to 3.
It helps to be old on the film trivia....
Alright, I'm down to 29 and I'm breaking out the list. It's time to get serious up in here.
31 to go here
I only have one re5/10 so far and I'm not sure which one but it is re + sister but with the vowel substituted for another one. How is that for a convoluted clue?
Thanks much, smith.
No problem.
I hope that is the one you needed.
ci6-21 is the very last word....please.....thanks
It makes me think of a gas station. Or a gemstone that has the round vowel instead of the 'i' and no vowel on the end.
or the kind of car The Mentalist drives
That was it, smith. Thanks so very much. I will try to help if you want clues.
I need to get caught up on that show. I used to watch it and haven't for a while.
Good clue, harp.

Anyone want a clue
Me too. And g's.

Tosses harp a cinnamon stick.
Sure, I'll be there in about 25 hours or so.
LOL. Guess I'd better let the critters out before the flip.
The gr7 and gr8 make no sense to me at all.
it's pretty cold here, it might be worth the drive if you like adventure
Thanks. See you later.
We are about to get some ice and snow and that means we'll be rolling up the sidewalks.
i agree smith, it's like shakespeare
we walked three blocks to church tonight and an hour later i'm still not warmed up. \
I'm not too good about walking.
one left, it's 8 letters. i bet i forgot a gerund somewhere.
yup!
Dang. You've been cranking them out. I've still got 19.
no I am just toodling, waiting for my sister to FB me
Do you mind cluing the last re5/10 so that I can slap myself for missing it?
Never mind. I'm already slapping myself.
