i am hoping it won't take me too long to get used to the harder exercises. another week of working with weights for only one exercise, then i will start wearing them for 2 exercises.

i am certainly not going to push it, dear. if i find 2 hours is too much, i will have to pull back. good point is, that the second week of my return to work will be the week i see my doctor again, and the certificate will reflect how i am feeling. for example, no increase in number of hours.

yup, and doing some light land-based exercises too. oh, and the muscle on the inside of my thigh has started to work again. if you put your hand, gently on the inside og your knee, slightly towards the front, and bend and straighten your leg, the muscle under your fingers is the one i am talking about.
got it----I think soon you will be as good as you were at 21--lol
it's quite interesting, watching and feeling different muscles coming back into use. you don't realise they aren't working, until all of a sudden, it feels different.
I bet it is helping the other leg as well too

Life is catching up with me rose. I've gone in both knees. Didn't rrealise how painful it could be. Ellie is still my absolute darling. She has just gone to school - which she loves. As my son and his other half work very long and late hours I stay with them during the weeks to be with Ellie.

I know what you mean about muscles, Rose, since I've started waslking Raffie, I have gained a lb of muscle in my calves and feel better than I have in years. I even spent an hour yesterday weeding the garden which is already overgrown.

2 weeks ago, the repairman fixed the leak in the new washing machine with duct tape, but today he's back with a new hose
the laundry room is on the same level (garden) as the studio

Yes, we've planted lots of veggies, have lots of trays of seedlings for hanging baskets, and I am also painting our hideous fence which, because it is slatted, is a bit of a nightmare - but something of a labour of love - it has now become my nemesis!

We cut the rose to ground level when we found it last summer and it's shot up quite quickly again but hasn't really thickened out. It's got plenty of foliage on it (young leaves) We're not sure if we'll keep it anyway. I used to grow rosebushes years ago and always enjoyed cutting them right back and see them bloom again the following year, but to be honest i don't think this one's going to do a great deal. Still, we shall see!

Well, on my own front, I sat the hubby and the boys down last night and had a talk with them. They respond very differently to their father than they do to me and it bugs the hell out of me. I told them enough was enough and if I asked them to do something they were to do. Hubby had my back and hopefully it will stick.

I did it alone for the most part, and yeah it is hard. But you have to deal with what life hands you.

I think that a marriage in trouble should be kept between the adults, not involve the kids whatsoever. Don't fight around them, don't bad mouth in front of them, etc. Sometimes we guilt ourselves because we feel that we've done the child an injustice, but have we? not in my book. we all have had bad spots in our lives, whether as kids or adults. it's a fact of life. they have to learn to deal with reality, and reality is that we owe them a safe home, food on the table and an upbringing that will assist them to be independent as adults. we don't owe them phones, ipads, video game consoles, net flicks, cable, a car, and the list goes on...

There is nothing wrong with saying "I don't get your clue". People do it all the time. And for good reason. For instance, if you don't know the word, how are you supposed to know the definition (people use definitions as clues a lot)

My biggest complaint as an RN is that you are so time crunched it is nearly impossible TO succeed. If your patients know you care...you ARE doing your job.

Exactly, you are giving them them their medications and spending time with them, as long as they get their medication...so what...they want to feel love, they want to feel like someone wants to listen to them
Knowing that you "care" is great. If they are not getting their required medicine, isn't that a problem?
I was never a trained nurse Phan but i worked with the4 elderly for years.they love to chat, but you will also learn to say to them 'look i have to go and give someone else their medication but when i can i'll come back and have a chat'

Molly, I definitely can be a problem, which is why I am upset with myself. Most of the meds, just need to be given at some point during the shift, but some meds really do need to be giving timely. But this was only my 2nd day on the floor with my own 18ish patients.
I'm sure you'll soon work out a routine that works for you - to give medication and time, where it's needed.
Lilli, the problem is I don't have the time to chat at all... I have to do my chatting while giving the meds.
