thanks again, Lickety!
i've never been there, Nef. I refuse! i remember sitting at Met Stadium and seeing the Twins, the Vikes, and even... the Beatles.
The theme for today is Stamps. You can chack for themes by going to dear Lickety's page and looking on the right for Icon Themes
*check. Sorry, I'm pooped!
I remember freezing my rearend off at Vikings games and getting sunburnt so bad a t Twins games
yep. lol.
Dang! I've missed House again!
oo. this grid allows profanity. heh heh
profanity is in the dictionary ;p
torgone - I just got bored of my usual 'clues are up' message ;-)
i, for one, will NEVER get bored of it lickety!
updated icon - refresh!
O-------h+++++++o))))))k%%%%%%a@@@@@y I can get behind that ..
Is it new HOuse tonite?
MG - I guess it was a House repeat on Fox - but I missed the season opener
I will never ever forget debbinla for her kindness!
acts
lickety - it is YOU who's kind!
don't forget the icons calerndar on the community page of the online Resource pages...
It was really good jilli - did you see the Closer last nite - season opener - great!
Just sooooo much luv here *sigh*
MG, I've been missing House but reading about it - very frustrating!
got the 7,8,9s & halfway. clues anyone b4 i knock off?
sorry about the booboo below
how remiss for me to not thank monsieur lickety! merci!
Hey Melon, what's the other 8 start with? I have the r one
amazing, melon, as usual - sure, clues are always welcome!
imaginary word in grid: FISH! must be seeing it for a reason! :)
hi melon - missed you coming in
starts with co, do you look @ lickety's clues?
good job melonhead! i have the 9, and one each of 7 and 8, but not quite half way yet...
whats the 9 start with
We all love lickety!
co7, 8
hey everyone
OK here are clues - in my silly cryptic fashion:
I do look at the clues but not until tomorrow...
Hey Helen!
co 7 - bovine listened but couldn't spell.
hi hk
lol melon, clever
lol!
and we'd be lost without you lickety
melon, thanks for the great clue!
thanx Melon!
hello helen
lol - thanks helen
i got them from your clues, melon, but im not sure how!
So Helen can you believe who won?
thanks, melon!
hi helen
thanks, melon
co8 more of the same, di7, more like Marilyn Monroe - or my good china, ou7 - what a competetive tailor does, re 8 & 9 new clear events.
yw, i shall now put my mediocre self to bed. laila tov!
nite Melon!
extraordinary, melon!
laila tov and thanks
ty melon - great clues!
chic - i feel icky - like i need a shower - the whole thing was done badly - cbs was evil - there was no reason to do that to erika on national tv
thanks, melon
35 left for tomorrow -- nite, all :)
laila tov
i owe it all to my great. late, funny, punny mom. ;) thanks all & 'nite
boker tov all
yes It was sort of a walk of shame but it's what the ratings are all about.
shalom jaydee!!
hi mymus, melon, nan, mayne, ping, jili, joey, everyone i didn't seee prior to the flip
nite melon and thanks - some thing to work on when my brain refunctions
hi jaydee of the holy land
hi hk
hi jaydee
Yes we didn't care whom won; but at least Nakomis said it, that Will and Janie were the best players..
chic- it's jsut so sad - & how pathetic that boog will now think he's the best player ever- ugh, i hope i never have to see him again, never, ever, anywhere
i'm off to bed too, sweet dreams
good nite ping :)
nite Ping
hi all.have a good Babble or sleep,depending where u r.
nite ping
I guess you won't be going to any of his eateries...
nite ping
chic - i wish i lived in LA right now, just so i could help organize boycotts
can't believe "snofie" isn't a word - just seems it shoudl be
Let's send debb over with a sign or two!
nite Ping! pleasant dreams
i think it's interesting arrianna huffington got involved, but i must say i agree with her, when the shows refuse to police their reality show contestants, then someone's gotta do it - i can't tolerate his remarks about women
the evil guy won??
that's right debb- do us a favor would you?
yes he did debb...
sure! i'm on your side!
lol Mayne Girl! snofie
yes debb - could you please go picket in front of his restaurant or throw a tomato on it, or walk your dog past it, you know, after feeding time
yikes - what restaurant is it?
lol helen
good one helen
dontcha think so harpjane?
debb rocks! yeah, there's another geat idea, throw some rocks at him!
I don't watch "real;ity" shows - saw the first Survivor a bit and it seems to me they bring out the worst in the contestants and the nastiest win - horrible
back up, plz... who are we panning...??
there's a couple - dolce group- you can look it up on the internest - one is called dolce something, another is geisha house (i think) he's starting some in atlanta - he better not come here!
I think snoz should be a word, too.
at least Janie got the $25,000
i don't watch it gail - but they're all talking about big brother - tonight was the last show and the guy who won seems horrible -treats women bad - and is just a pig (did i get it right?)
jili - some people's 'worst' is way, way worse than others -we got a real gem here :(
gail - I think it's a nasty guy on Big Brother who won, name of boob or something
boob! lol
ok - boob works for me - lol
thanks. i don't watch much network tv.
I think the networks are really filthy these days; can't stand them at all
chic - yay for jani!! did you see how hurt she looked by the things james said - wait until she see the jase rap & wait until she see that will sat through the whole thing & didn't say anything at all - i feel bad for some of these people - the ones with sensebilities
absolutely harpjane - snoz is another great word that shoulda been
i tried "snoz" too ;)
did you see how Boog and erika never hugged each other at the end ; they couldn't even look at each either....
hi everybody!
hi all!
hey Fran!
w/b Fran
Hey nrkii!
I'm guessing lickety's list is up by now?
hello fran!!
hi fran
why not "zots"? Happen all thetime in comic strips
yes it is nrkii
right, nrk - and hi!
hi debb, chic, gail & nrk!!
i agree jilli - tried that too!
k, 23 left and want to go to bed by 2...
hmm, my icon is not working
hi fran - we're discussing the merits of "snofie" and "snoz" they shoudl be words
hey nrkii!
fran, I see a hawaii 1 cent stamp
yes it is, Fran! lovely orangey Hawaii one cent
hi MG! they are words, even if enable doesn't know it.
okay good, all i see is a black square!
hey helen! chic! debb! jilli! fran!
did you refreah, fran?
hey nrk, i forgot to congratulate you earlier on your 4 stars in QP.
zots... like the anteater in that comic strip? lol
chic - actually, i missed alot of the little stuff - i taped it & am going to watch it before i go to sleep - there are a bunch of people in pac & mount time zones that wren't getting the show live & our rgular play-by-play gal didn't show up, so i did it for them so they could know what was happening
it'll sort itself out on it's own jilli, refreshing doesn't do anything.
oh thanks fran!
gail - was it Pogo? Can't remember
it looks like the same for today too nrk! you're on a roll this week.
that or B.C., jilli
brb
Pogo! I remember him (my mom inherited some books of his when I was a kid)
Helen I didn't realize that you are in Chicagp; you should get together with Mamabear!
Pogo: "we have met the enemy, and he is us"
thanks, firefly! That was a great strip
I still have my Pogo books....
i loved reading it, even though i didn't understand all of it
they might be worth something chic! we gave ours to another family member
I reread them as an adult, and It is way over kids' heads...
i believe they were very political, right?
true satire on just about everything!
why do I always miss the cat noise word?
thx nrkii - i missed it too
well, we all have it now -ta
chic- i know - mamabear lives right down the street from me! i live about 15 directly north of her :)

i wonder if this is a hint? lol
I've had that happen lots of times - this too shall pass

If a man remarries, he reW5, right?

I just tried it
Just give me 10 minutes alone in a closed room with enable...
I found a couple of words in here I thought they only used in comic books and batman tv shows
aren't they great ML!
Hehe, that is a consolation, true. My husband and I are married 10 years today :D

Dunno, I didn't notice.

bbl have to take boys to school x
Bye M3!
bye m3!
bye for now
So far I have a disappointingly small amount of comparatives. And I thought the ending looked so promising!
I have a question - do you not get the fireworks if you don't have "pro"?
I really don't know that... did you finish without the fireworks?
for the first two weeks from when you sign up itzie
Ithink so, for a short time
I think I finished, but I'm not sure because I didn't get any fireworks. I'm wondering if that's because I don't have pro.
hi everybody!
I got 105 words.
hi kiki
Do you have 105 words?
hi all :)
yay itzie!!!!!!
hi Ata
hooray itzie!
*~*%*~*%*~ FIREWORKS *~*%*~*%*~ for itzie! Hi Ata *hug* :)
hi ata
hi kiki! hi ata!!
I guess that means I'm done! And I guess fireworks only go with pro. :) That one was a nice one. Not too many words I didn't know!
I've been busy, Sprite :)
You get handmade fireworks... they are the best, lol.
you can check your word list against Lickety's clue list if you're not sure itzie

Not at the moment, Kiki.

kay thanxz though tell her i said hi
*when she gets on
Anybody got a clue for the ac6,21
Wow, those watercolours are so him! Good job, Ata!
Guten Morgen
Bon matin, matty!
has miki been on?
ac6/21 an * * * * * * movie often has car chases and gunfights
thank you! its a bit too doodly for my liking, but next Jos pic will be more realistic I think
I really like the softer colours, they become him.
LOL @ icon, Ata!
blues and yellows and greys are my Joscelin colours!
Absolutely, I agree. Especially all those grades of grey, I like them very much.
hi everybody
hello Firey
Hi Firey
hi firey! good to see u here ooo it's so exicting cuz were both new
yea
i know Kiki she is my friend

LOL
Lol
Oh joy, the bus has arrived.
That ac6 just gave me the 9 as well, thanks!
I think zo5/28 with an r on the end should be allowed
What's today's theme?
OK
stamps
wat has happened
I agree. And more curious with a Z looks perfectly acceptable to me.
I agree Ata!
everything kiki says says i say it
well bye eva ry body
ok
OK - refresh for my new icon - and not a dragon in site.
i had to change my account cuz of that little clich
sight...that should be
well hi everybody
More's the pity, I love your dragons :) But it is a nice stamp.
The dragons will return, Sprite! Fear not.
cool stamp icon mattygroves
brb need to talk on MSN
Actually, I looked up some of your dragons on google images and downloaded them to my screensaver (which changes every few seconds, with only images I love)
phantom: fetish
Oooh - glad you like my taste sprite! After today's theme, I'll keep the dragons up :D
Sometimes it's a challenge finding a dragon picture to go with every theme...it can be a bit of a stretch LOL
Hahaha, don't worry, if I have to miss your dragons for a day, I'll value them even more the next one ;)
I have a dragon stamp now!
I still see the real time status adjusters!
Cool stamp, ata!
wah! I *do* have a dragon stamp, honest!
If my son puts on my boots, I will put hizon.
morning all :) how many today?
105, marso
cheers sprite
Now this is really weird. I refreshed, your icon in the chatlog is a dragon, but if I click your profile, I STILL see that other one!
mornin' marso
morning ml :)
lol how weird!
tion is so a word, and so is liger
it;'s tigon metal
shoot, so it is
I see your dragon
Anyone got the nine - is it a real word?
Ata: http://img174.imageshack.us/img17 4/7801/aaaaaaaaaaaer9.jpg
good morning everybody:)
matty, a very common words. You might get them when you post!
hello jean
how *weird*!
I have it, and it's not unusual at all
hi jean :)
Last night it was soooo funny. Every time I posted a request for a hint - 10 seconds later I'd get the answer before it could be clued.
What does the nine start with?
Usually it is the other way around, Ata, I can see a new pic in the profile, even if I don't refresh. Strange things happen!
the 9 is what trolls look for and what we deny them by ignoring them
R, matty.
So they do. Thanks.
Time to get me some breakfast. Back in a bit!
byeeee!
what's on the menu Sprite?
bye sprite enjoy
Yoghurt! Back already, I love breakfast&babble :)
lol
tuna salad here, leftover from supper last night
Funny thing to have breakfast with, but sounds tasty. Does anyone know what the other 8 starts with? I have got the R.
c
horseradish, broccoli and olives on rye
thanks
not sure I'd add horseradish to something with broccoli, or vice versa, but olives make everything better
rye sounds good :)
mmmm hungry now! brb with breakfast
since we're on a food track... I posted some new recipes last night, and also some the night before on BabAnon
Great, I love recipes.
I have a nice lamb recipe on Dooyoo
some time in the next few days, I'll post a boatload of spice mixes
what's Dooyoo?
Oh yes, please do metal! I love spices.
morning everyone whats the grid like today?
Not too bad, sarah.
not too bad so far
Are they on BabAnon, metal?
hi sarah
good morning sarah1513
hi marso and jean
Found the C8, no wonder I could not find it. It is one of those invisible compounds!
Morning all Sprite the other 8 is aco 7 & 8 combo
the recipes? yes, the ones I've posted thus far are there, not the spice mixes yet.
cowardice is really spelled cowerdis, isnt it? :P
hi FM
of course it is Ata
Hi metal
Only if you're brave enough to come forward with that, Ata :)
morning all! Well, I've managed more than half, got 2 8's and a 9 - any more biggies?
good morning FMitch
Nope, only 4 x 7, amanda, hi :) Hi FMitch!
morning jean. Amanda you got the biggies.
Beef on my plate is a C..D...
morning amanda
hi again!
...and to get married again is rew***, and in some cultures there can be a cow***
morning ml, fran!
hi amanda! hi fmitch! hi jean!
at least that's what they're called in Utah
My son put on my boots, so I put hizon. Then he challenged me to draw my sword, so I drewit.
lol sprite, Hi Fran
in Utah maybe, but in Babbleland evidently not...grr
I have tried several words with 'fish'. All phantoms, of course.
along with charm and fresh
fetisch was my first phantom today
And for some absurd reason I also keep seeing nylon.
yay, got the other 8! thanks for those clues!
But hey, at least I was sh6/36 enough to find sh6/36...
yayy Fran
Mine too, amanda!
*without the c, of course
Seriously, I really thought sidhe was a word. For the elvenfolk.
ditto sprite
its Sidhe
Ah, okay. At least I am not crazy. Just disfunctional with capitals :)
folt = foal + colt (I never can remember the difference between the two anyway, if there even is one, so why not just one word for both?)
isn't a colt a male foal? As opposed to filly?
well, zion is a word, with or without the capital, although the dictionary does not agree
possibly, Sprite - I never had a horse-phase, so my equinology isn't quite up to par
foal is the offspring of a horse, filly is the female and colt is the male then they grow into mares and stallions or geldings if they have had their bits chopped off :)
maybe the sidhe are with the ents, picketing to be included in the word list
colt: 1. a young male animal of the horse family. 2. a male horse of not more than four years of age. 3. a young or inexperienced person.
My favorite canon, meta. "By the waters of Babylon we laid down and wept for thee, Zion".
well, now I know. Let's see how long I remember...
that is lovely Sprite
It is :)
I see David B superstar's son is in the grid today and change the 1st letter for another 5
ooh, thanks, mitch! How many z' are there in all?
4, amanda
urgh, then 2 more to find....
There's this T4 babblet that has a Z variety :)
Good morning all. Just read FMitch's definition of horses and am pained by the description 'bits chopped off'. Whatever happened to expert veterinary removal?
good morning Haz
morning everyone.....I have them all amanda if you need anything :)
Ah well I was leaving the technical definition to the expert Haz!! Morning
morning, Haz!
good morning haz
The chopping off was the result of the removal of the vets!
Good morning metal/amanda/sprite/jean et al!
Hey Haz :)
setol
Not even 9.30am and I am in trouble already :)
Close, Karys!

That is really hard, Pappou. My granddad used to say living without my grandma was the last thing he could do for her, and that he did it with love.
that's nice
it must be ted.....I had been married just short of 30 years when my husband died, its the losing of your best friend
OH MY GOLLY> I've tried every combination and can't find the ti4,4. A FOUR LETTER WORD
Yes, Karys
It's an anagram of a ceremony - it means a part of a wedding cake?
ti + first 2 letters of what you say when you can't find a word.
ti4 a "level" or one who puts on shoes with strings and knots the strings
wedding cakes have several ti /4
mkl - ti4/4 rows or ti**s in a theatre
That's sad, Karys. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my love. Carry on, of course, but it would be really tough.
ty all....I didn't have that one !
Found it. I swear I tried that 232 times. Well, maybe not.
macadam!!! good morning
lol
I agree sprite.... I'd be so very lost without my sweetie
Lol mkl!
I was lucky to still have young children sprite
Well done mki. Deep breaths.
anybody got the sh 5/20? pls
but that hadto make it harder
Anyone with a clue for the zo5/28?
With young kids, you just HAVE to carry on. You're a brave one, Karys *hug*
sh5/20 small mammal, vole or stoat like
or a brash, nagging woman
I don't think so Ted....I had to be strong for them and in turn it made me feel strong
mkl: sounds like a name.
think... The Taming of the *****
ooo, dweomer is so almost there!
and add a consonant for the sh6/36.
mkl.....David B*****'s son's name I think
I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten
Still blanking. I thought maybe sound like the name in Sop***s Choice
mkl....I think it does....looks like a word that would appear in an action comic
Hi FM .I`m having a `fun` morning on and off line.I keep getting stuck on the moo words.
Does it go zo towards the top or zo towards the bottom??
I *love* the word dweomer
Well it's nice to see you back in babble land again.
thnkx metalether & sprite
up and then down
Me too! Towards the top, mkl. Start with to put seeds in the ground, change first letter. Then 2 vowels.
mkl - if you know the popstar David B**** the zo rhymes with his surname.
yvw
Ah - I get the David B's son reference (zo5). I was busy searching for Romeo.
LOL!
lol Haz
Romeo, Romeo, where arth thou, Romeo...
thanks for that one,fmitch
me too, Ata. I first came across it in a fantasy novel, and was thoroughly surprised when I learned that it really was a word!
lol pop start not footballer Haz! change the 1st letter to another cons for another 5 letter word
Katherine Kerr!
Found it. I was going another direction entirely. Last time I saw that word Batman had just punched the Riddler
kids are finally asleep, now i can finish this thing!
Thanks FMitch - got it now.
*gives Fran a rubber hammer for next occasions*
allflesh - you sure you can afford that? I've lost quite a few years to the locusts (I suppose...it's as good an excuse as any!)
fran, how old are the kids?
Mornin' Y'all
there's lots of variations on dweomer - dwimmer is a common one, and Tolkien also uses it in places like Dwimorberg in Rohan
Hi Odin
hi penny! hi odin!
hi odin
That's it, Ata - couldn't remember exactly which series it was
What does it mean, Ata?
Morning Odin.
Hey Odin
mornin Odin
good morning Odin
Hey Sprite and everyone
hi odin!

Great pic pida

More of the first di word, Pappou!
Hello FranMag! How are you?

The other dr is what you have when you sleep.
ty :)
That's good! You sound full of the joys!
Having trouble with the co6,33 co7,56 and co875. Anyone want to clue me?
fran, I love your stamp, need to go back and visit sometime
thanks penny! have you been to Hawaii?
Think lots of bovine creatures, mkl.
co7 & 8 - person who looks after cattle and pl
the 7 and 8 are compounds. The 6 is more bovine.
Almost as soon as I aske d for help I saw the 7 and 8 letter. Still hunting for the 6
oh I give up - for the z's I've got the acne and Ziggy Stardust's son, what are the others?
thanks for chat and all.....best do some work now....back later :)
later karys!
Bye Karys!
bye for now Karys
Bye Karys amanda - there is a zl5 sounds like Polish currency
amanda, one is larva of crabs and shrimp
Bye Karys - see you later.
more bovine? is that like more pregnant?
Think about Batman punching Joker. Big word in bubble over their heads
and a z4 that is z + 3 vowels
zo + t** (hot bev)
The z4 is like the babblet T4. Means any of the free-swimming larva of certain crustaceans, as the crab, having rudimentary legs and a spiny carapace
ah! gottem! Thanks all The babblet t gave it away!(which I was also missing)
Thanks for the z words.
gee, nick nolte isn't a real word, LOL
allflesh, I do know people who are C6 than others :)
the word is not in any dictionary I have access to
Last word till fireworks. Need help with co6,33. Pretty please
allflesh: it is in a couple of word lists, but I cannot find it specified as entry anywhere either. But the meaning is clear :)
mkl: more bovine!
think of the last 3 letters of the ti4 word
comparative of animal that goes Moooooo
co6/33 - insert a vowel into the quivering co5/20
Fireworks. But that was a stupid word
yay!
yay mkl!
WTG mkl
That could be very well the meaning of the word, lol.
yayyy mkl
congrats on finishing, mkl. Anyone else who needs clues?
*could very well be
co 5 /22 please
the re5/12s between the 4/5 and the 4/7. I've gone more cross-eyed looking for them
M3: snugly warm and comfy. Co6 is comparative.
Is the co5/22 snuggly and warm - a US spelling? Make it more so for the 6
Morning! I'm only just starting so just have one z so far
good morning Wren
thanks x
meta: take the word for standing up stiffly. Loose first letter. Put a different vowel at the end for the 2 words.
Morning ExWren
hi wren
fmitch, i'm thinking it's a tea co5/22?
Morning, all! FMitch the co/5 spelling is new to me
morning meta, how is it today?
hi kateq!
Maybe it's just an alt sp then
it's good today
Not too many Re-words, ExWren and you will find most of them easily.
morning Kateq
thanks for that co, i had the comparative, not that one.
re5/12 - to respond to a situation (don't know if this is the one you are looking for)
The meaning is clear? Sure? More easily bovined? More herbevore? Without a definition, the word means whatever the user pleases. But, I belabor.
ty Haz, but it's the two after that one
haz, the other two re5/12s look like prefixes for squarish things.
2nd re5 is the name for the right hand side of a book
tytyty Fran
Did you see my clue, meta?
...or like prefixes for colonesqe things
co*y is the adjective from which co6 is the comparative. It's indicated in online dictionaries as an adjective for the bovine. I agree that you can't make a comparative adjective out of a noun.
105 words, is that right?
yes amanda
Absolutely, amanda. Finished?
yes amanda...fireworks??
not quite - 14 to go
Close enough ;)
how many w's?

mornin folks
hi philod
hi philod
hi philod
hi philod
not too many words today..
Hey philod
clue for the ma5 please?
hmmm, have the computer kid, and I think I've got the adjectives you mean, Sprite - if we're talking about the same ones, one is actually another word for willow
one who usses the ma 4
ma5/14 - one who uses the ma4/6
you know, I thought I typed that in and it didn't take it, thanks

ty
co6/36 warmer, more inviting

Good morning folks. How is the grid?
Very quiet. I was starting to think I was alone
Good morning Scrabbler - interesting
hi Scabbler
Yesterday's grid was tough, but I got to the 50% point, so I could quit.
What is your flag, Frances?
England!!!
I am used to a different flag, or am I confused?
If you hover your mouse over the flags it will tell you the countries
Frances, why is yours different?
OK, I did my google search. What I thought was England is the UK flag. I learned something new today.
and thx for hover tip, never knew that
The Union flag is the United Kindom which is Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)
hovering does not work here
We all learn new things every day - wonderful - I'm never too old to learn
it does here
http://www.flags.net/indexs.htm Neat site. Yes, the hovering does not work for me. I have to click the person's icon.
Works for me on your Scottish flag billmster

tont
sorry
Darn, Andree, it's not even a word
wow - lots of stamps out there...
I am not "seeing" words today! Is this grid as hard as I think or is it me?
Ok...am I alone here...I really think DISHWIFE should be a word...it surely defines a large part of MY life.
lol chiley - with all of the other things babble accepts, you think that one would work.
You're not alone, chiley
True,chiley
no, you're not alone, Dishwife should be a word
who needs a clue?
I don't think its too bad so far, 14 left to go
I just got started, so I don't know what I need -
the two words that "got" me... were ones I thought used only in comic books and on the Batman TV series

thanks eva and wolvie just one to4/4 now
ragalla do you have to foot part with a vowel on the end?
that last one (at least for me) is something I have never seen - like a road charge, but ends in 5th vowel
Thing at the end of your foot (singular) with another vowel on the end
the o's are hard for me
thanks wolvie -- ive never seen that one either... (didnt even notice that 5th vowel there til you said it!)
thanks wolvie

batman word, phil
jac, my daughter has been going through the yarn draw picking out colors!!

Hello lmj!
Hi and Bye Hurshy
Good Night All
oh, hmm, i went to a liberal arts college, i know nothing about business. i'll take a stab though. how about... setting up starbucks stands on campuses?
i couldn't quite figure out the theme today, but looks like it's stamps (?)
could do a business plan - except that i was a psych major not a busniess major and i don't know how to do one...
hence why i am in grad school as a business major
Good morning, high Hurshy, need a clue on co7/56, please.
lara - hebrew afterlife or more modest
ouch! My network just dropped me
Good Night All
TO, me psych major too! i have a feeling most people who know about business are off doing business, and not babbling :(
ty hursh - it's a wee bit more complex for a grad school capstone project - see you
okay, any help for a TO 4.5?
nite, tiny!
YAY! Got it!
Firworks!

cnan you said re x 5, you mean 5 prefix words, yes?
:) chj
Thanks Bugsy and Hurshy but still having trouble with co7/56, one more little clue please.
no -- only 4 re prefix words the other re (4/5) is a measure of paper
co7, a mooer plus the group it is in
ok but then there are 2 more re's after that
and then an rh
hursh...i wouldnt really call any of them prefix words...they are all stand alone words on their own
I"m missing a Z... have zi4 x1 zo4 x1 and zo5 x1...
fo 4/8?
true, chj
I have 3 re's after the paper word...
if you can take off the re and still have a word, it's a prefix.
aha, bugzy, i have 2. they are a combo, what is the other that you have?
zl - zl + God sm*** hit for being a jerk
fair is fo4/8 and fo4/8 is fair...
Thanks so much Hurshy, now I have to go to work.
re + you do on stage and 3 derivatives of that one
3 of them are related to the re5/12
Have a great Babble of a day all
re5 - right-hand page of a book
then how does it go? hover through the fog and frosty air?
i need the 2 re5/12 that are together
there's a WORD for the right-hand page of a book???
Yes, opposite of verso (which is, of course, the left hand page of a book...)
yes
ah i remembered them but i had no idea it meant that. there is my learn something new for today! :)
hurshy -- think of another word for upright - drop the first vowel and add a different vowel at the end for each word
Wait, there are 2 re5/12s together?
this leaves me 2 more, an F6 and an S6 from the bottom.
Help please, 'fo 5,16'. Thanx.
(i thought verso was a game, by-the-by)
plural fish for merk
fo 6/42: more like Henry Winkler's role on Happy Days -- drop middle consonant
Fish?
the hitting oneself kind, not the word itself.
sh 6: taming of the sh*** + consonant
which S6, hurhsy, SE or SH?
se, i guess :)
the word re5/12 has more meaning than just to redo an act..you can re*** without ever having done an act in the first place
Are the 2 re5/12s at the beginning of the list, or right before the re4/7?
sh6/36...clever
SH - Sly and canny (or add a D to Shakepeare's Beatrice)
AND plural fish for ME!
ac6 and ac7???
ty klaurel
so in that sense i dont consider it like one of your normal prefix words
Whoops, Got my shakespeare mixed up, I mean Kate
like re** ...if you take off the re you still have a word...if
nvm - got them...FIREWORKS~~~~~
yay, hi!
have you finished, Hurshy?
Good morning everyone. Sees to be a great babblet day today. I've found so many that give me the sense of deja-vu--to say nothing of enjoying re*** ve***conundrums! My own grnd to a halt has just come with one of the to5/1's. I have the turreted edifice. Any ideas about the other please?
okay, have to run. Have to play with Powerpoint cfor awhile
Congrats, Hi
lol but in that case, chj, the word you are left with is completely unrelated. i think the re5 is different because it doesn't depend on you having done anything, true, but it does depend on some act having occurred.
yes cnan i is done
I'm still here with the fo 5,16 and fish or not, I don't get it.
congrats, hurshy
Congratulations, Hurshy
arial, times new roman, comic sans MF, etc etc merk
fo 5/16: pluralize the fo 4/7 before it
Merk, fo5/16 is plural of fo4/7
Merk -- do you have 3 fo 4/7's in a row?
Oh I did something really stupid. I have that one. I keep typing into the wrong boxes. Thanx.
sorry -- 4 4/7's in a row
Nan.do you have the second to5/18?
but the normal and most comon use of re5/12 is not that something is being repeated...you are doing an act that may be totally different from the act that stimulated it
No, it's the 4,7 I am missing.
I have my enemies and the arial, times new roman.
sure, it may be totally different, but it was in fact stimulated by some act. a4s are a4s, even if their contents are completely different.
fo 4/7's: enemies, homonym for baby deer, type face
there are two fo4/7's--one is the Winkler character and the other the place where babies are baptised
thanx
lol, chj, anyway, i am just arguing for the sake of arguing, i don't really feel attached to this position.
and also enemies)
also an fo 4/5: offensive
sorry can't type fo 4/8 = offensive

Hey Ree, are you there
No hardwood floors in my apartment. Gave up vacuuming because I find it annoying. I did get a well-trained red pet that likes to vacuum.

Great clues!
ch, arent you moving to MA?
we are indeed, inge --- we're about midway, just a little over midway
Aah, I did remember correctly. Michigan is getting drenched right now. Come tomorrow
We had to stop in Ottumwa to visit my beloved's relatives. Our cars are loaded and we've been travelling since Saturday :)
LOL Inge! We'll try to avoid Michigan!
So far the country is absolutely beautiful!! This is my first time east of Montana, so the landscape is very, very different. Nebraska and Iowa were beautiful!
And eventually you will be enjoying the Adirondeks (sp) and then the Atlantic Ocean
I am looking forward to seeing all these places I've only seen in movies or books, especially the famous fall foliage, and of course the Atlantic
Hey I forgot to throw in the Berkshires. CHj can stand at the edge of the turnpike and wave to you
Cool! The Bershires will be about 50-60 miles from where we'll be (I think, not good yet on geography out east)
Are you going east on I 94? Then I can wave to your from here
welcome to the east ch1212 (when you get there)...massachussets is beautiful, particularly this time of year. The Berkshires are magnificent any time of year
I think we're supposed to be going from I-80 to 90... But I'll wave in your general direction :)
Great! And we do have several babblers in PA
Well, soon we'll have one in central Massachusetts :D
Now I must back to the grid --- I'm on the hotel's system
Ask for clues, we are here to help
Thanks, inge!

"more so" of the di 4 that precedes, Scrabbler
do you have the 4?
TY--a stupidhead word, as peri would say
more so than di4/6 scrabbler
I like asparagus, too. Our plants didn't do very well this year, though. Might be time to get new plants.
*grin* there were several for me today, Scrabbler!
Farmer Jack has a sale this week. One lb asparagus for !.69
It's supposed to rain tonight... I am really hoping it will be nice and wet and cool and gray. Then I will have an excuse to turn on all the lights in the house and hide under blankets to stay warm.
I have never used that word, have you Stids?
hi everyone!
Think there's loads of better cluers than me here now - so heading off. G'nite all - hope those who haven't finish!
well, Helen thinks Alan Rickman is di7 than any other male on this planet! (so yes, but only rarely)
We dont grow any vegetables in the garden. Yes, they did say there would be rain coming to the wild fires via Washington State.
bye tinks -- sorry I missed your fireworks (YAY tinks!)
I like to grow vegetables, but (like my flowers) only grow things that pretty much take care of themselves. Nothing that requires fussing or lifting every year!
OK, now i read the definition. I was wondering why we would use a superlative of a plate
by tinks
asparagus, tomatoes, lettuces, beans and peas, squash. Corn every few years, an occasional misguided attempt at cukes. And Kale grows everywhere for me, it's a weed, but an edible one!
My bunnies love kale.
I don't know if we ever gave the bunnies kale -- they loved clover blossoms and raspberry leaves, though!
We'll have bunnies again someday, but it'll have to wait until the dogs are gone. And that will be a while!
time to make dinner. back in a bit for story.
Sorry, I was gone for a while. We had such bad luck with tomatoes, that we decided to stick with flowers and ornamental stuff. Mostly shade anyway
bbl
I'm stuck for to 4/5 and co 6/33. Anyone?

lol nut
hey! i could use the babbleverse as my reseacrh subjects!
or about the inventer of peanut butter, one mr. excelsius planter
or the impact of too much babble on the mental state of humans
you could write about the babble community and that would mean you now researching
nut, i tink george washington carver invented peanut butter
and hoe it turns us all into monkeys
lol arlene!
hoe = how
you could dissect the personality or rennie and chj, that would fill volumes

Add 4th letter for the sh6
stidmama...goo evening
wi 4/9 - think together?
+ sometimes vowel to the 4/9
and a goo evening right back atcha, chj! (is it green goo or yellow goo tonight?)
*smacks scrabs with fish* snap out of it, scrabs!
he didn't palpate -- he barely touched the skin and then he gave me a prescription for Vicodin and Flexiril to take on an as needed basis
its the green goo
that's some heavy drug, woulf
I saw him for all of maybe a minute and a half -- and then I had to wait another twenty while he wrote the Rx's
If I can't think, can we think together? I don't get the wi4,9 clue
so what are you going to do woulf? did you get a diagnosis - or even a test?
wi 4/9: get wi** the program, cuz!
Sorry for the rant folks -- but this just annoyed the heck out of me -- I definitely felt that I was not treated as well as I could have been because I didn't have insurance
scrabs: u2 's wi4/9 or wi4/9 out you
GOT IT--a BIG DUH here!
thanks everybody.
wi 4/9 - I went to the store wi* my friend
too late
well you got the fish in advance; no need to drag it out again
That was it, Temple -- no tests, he is of the opinion that I suffered a very intense muscle spasm
Scrabbler, the 5/22 adds a letter at the end (count the points....)
it is recurrant, isn't it?
GW - just read your "rant", and I thought you'd feel better knowing I've been treated poorly too, and I DO have insurance! Some places are just too busy I think...
Last year I was tentatively diagnosed with a compressed disc, but the deductible on my insurance prevented me from getting it confirmed
hello firefly!
Yup, I was wi** it enough to find that too.
fireworks
:-) Scrabbler's so smart!
u2
YAY DMG!
Once my benefits kick in I will be going to a proper doc to get everything diagnosed properly

7
No, it was a nice manageable size and difficulty today.

go to bed ren
I'm just back from a horrendous day at the library with 36 to go - have been catching up via the log
one of the potential side effects was blurred vision -- after all, eye focus is dependant on muscle control as well -- that was the only ability that wasn't impaired
Go Jillibus
co 5/20: what lily-livered landlubbers do when pirates are nearby...
hey jilli!!!
hehehe cute clue Phand

ren: staying up does no good. i did it monday and still feel tired though i turned in early last night
there was an extremely rude young man with a dali moustache which he twiddled while shouting at me that he didn't see why he should abide by the rules for renewing his card (ie, no ID, so he could have picked up a lost card off the street) - all this in the midst of many requests for computer access and halp and reference questions, gaaaa
oh no! *gasp* I thought Canadians were generally better behaved! Shame on him. Poor Jill...
jilli -- that's why I think libraries should have bouncers
he was so loud that nother of our volunteers, a very nice guy who does shelving, came over and asked me if I needed help
3rd to4,4; to5,10; to4,5, and 2nd to5,18--maybe they are obvious but I am entering REM sleep
I hope his mustache falls out and his eyebrows turn green!
Or security guards
Scrabbler, have you never gotten a round to**? then plural.
That's when you want a Hogwarts wand so you can zap people like that
Hi all. Who is Stid wishing such masty things on? Just got here, not scrolled back...
the to 4/5 is "a fragrant, yellowish-brown balsam or resin obtained from a South American leguminous tree, Myroxylon balsamum, and used in medicine as a stomachic and expectorant"
and the to 5/18 you want is like the zo and the yo...
Ah, of course.....?
Very rude young man, Jacula, who was mean to our Jill!
woulf, I agree with you!! We have a subtler way, by putting a virtual "stop" on the computer so that the desk people are aware. I should explain that this library is unique in that it is run by about 150 volunteers and a part-time pro chief librarian who was busy at a meeting at the time.
I've been reading MTNJock's sister's message in BabAnon, and also thinking about changing my icon back to the irritating things one of the other day/// No, not MJ's sis! The craneflies, who are committing suicide in every liquid available in the house right now, including drinks. GRR!
chj - you there?
(hi everyone!)
hi jacs!
they're out in force here, too, Jacula! (the craneflies)
Sounds like a very special place, jilli

Helena and Esmeralda kept their vigil in the front room until it was very late. Finally, Helena acquiesced to the urgings of the doctor and went to bed.
good question, jilli
whoo hoo Scrabbler!
(Jilli - thanks for that re the stamp icon. Must have been interesting.)
Well done, Scrabbler!
poopyhead is perfect!!! thanks for the LOL that gets me out of the dumps, lbdawger!!!
Esmeralda peeked in at Nan, saw she was still resting comfortably, and woke Gilly just enough to get her to lie down on the other bed in the room.
YAY Scrabbler!
Good night Esmeralda and Helena. Hi Jac--how are the bunnies?

A broad plain, bisected by a river, then a forest appeared.
The trees in the forest huddled together, dark and menacing, and no birds flew there.

cathy, 1st one, to plus two vowels, 2nd one: digits at the end of your feet, 3rd: planning to get something done...getting a round ** **
Nan knelt by the pool and reached her hand into the water...

She smiled at Nan, and girl fell slowly forward...
She woke to sunlight streaming in the window and a warm brick at her feet.
nonono, the first one is to plus TWO vowels
Nan could hear the sound of people busy in the kitchen next to her room; and turned her head toward the door.

Esmeralda peeked in, and saw Nan watching.
No one has asked for wh4/10. I'm so disappointed! I wanted to give them Georger Michael clues. LOL.
of course, how blind am I?
"Well, well," joked the doctor, "So you finally woke up! I bet you had some interesting dreams?"
How about the re5/12s?
Nan nodded and Gilly stepped aside to let Esmeralda in.
to + skip, skip, skip to my **
to 5/10 is the plural of the third to 4/4, and the 4/5 are the four letter ina square in bottom left of grid,
Swiftly, she unwrapped Nan from the pile of blankets, and slowly undid the bandages that had been holding her arms tight on her chest.

ac6/21...not a drama movie...not a horrow, but an ac6
Ac7/32 is what that man performed.
ac6/32 is it's plural
Then in a swift move -- too quick for Nan to question it, Gilly cut off the little girl's shift from behind.

hi hk, biltong and ata!!
ata, what's your stamp, i can't get the bigger picture.
cathy - what's a "slammer"?
it looks like a komodo dragon
talk about addiction - I went to bed last night with 9 words to go, I was soooo tired. And it bugged me all night long, so I've got up at 4:30am to finish :P
i honestly sometimes have to force myself away from my keyboard and reluctantly grab my mouse to log out *closes eyes whilst so doing*...nite for good this time
ata, that's funny!
it *is* a komodo dragon :)
bye again, Cathyar :)
nothing could get me up at 4 am. i might be "still" up at 4 though.
woot, fireworks, FINALLY
"hello, my name is atalante & i'm a babble addict"

lol....good JeeWhiz...i wasn't sure. when i give clues i try to decide if I could get it myself....
i don't know what it means either though
lol
made sense to me, so we must be thinking along the same wave lengths...
welll...better hit the hay...for sure this time.... i think all who were here when i came in have now finished so i feel i have returned the clue-favors!!! :)
more "spongy or loose textured" perhaps? [Great clue, by the way! allowed me to finish for the first time ever...]

I see you have a shihtsu. Can you put his picture up sometime?
oh for sure i can!!! hang on...i'll go get him!!! lol
there....buster has now joined the chat
he's such a sweet little pup
Aah, Cath he is gorgeous. I just love animals (well especially dogs).
he'll be 1 yr old in december
lol...my son calls buster his brother!!! guess that makes me a bitch huh? LOL ;)
lol. Mine is a doxie but I had to leave him in South Africa with my daughter when we moved to the UK. So I haven't seen him since April. :(
awww...sorry bilt...i think ALL pet owners must sooo miss their companionship when they r not near us.
is that him in yer pic?
icon i mean?
if so, he looks lovely!!!!!!!!!
Yes, that's him. His name is Hercules. He's 4 now. I am seriously considering getting a pup here, but since we are not sure how long we are staying in the U.K. it might not be such a good idea!!
(never heard of a doxie br)
Dachshund, sometimes referred to as Doxie.
well...pets adjust when travelling tho...at least most do from what i understand.
buster is my first dog i ever owned and I'm 40 yrs old...got him for my son, but he's more MY dog...sleeps with me...follows me everywhere!!!
Don't you just love it??
oh...i never knew dachshund's were sometimes called "doxies"
yeah...i so love him
Right, I'm off now. Thanks for the chat Cath and give Buster a cuddle from me! See you next time!
(except when the poor little "bloke" got fleas this summer...apparently fleas were inevitable around here this year...damp summer.)
ok bilt...hey...b4 u go...did u finish yet?
gads...looks like we're the only ones left in the chat!
Fleas are awful to deal with. No, not finished I have 31 left to find, but a bit cross eyed at the moment!
i can relate....
Yes, the die hards. lol. Bye Cath.
i got pills for my dog from the vet though and the fleas were literally dropping off him in front of my eyes 15 mins after he had the meds into him
see u bilt
enjoy the rest of the grid... good...i'll be in bed b4 1:30 a.m. at least ;)
Yeah, I should be asleep by about 6 am, sleep for one or two hours and suffer the rest of the day. But, hey, it was worth it.
haha bilt...will u feel that way in the morning? i don't think i will...oh well...the weekend will soon be here... nite nite (for sure, for sure, for certain this time) take care
peeking in for a moment... Cathy I thought you were going to go to sleep an hour ago!
*knocks on the door* hello? anyone still here? I have clues if wanted... and the story is now up at BabAnon.
19 left to get in 26 minutes - I don't think so - brain befuddles
hi Jill! we can do it! (I think -- just how many vodkas did you have with dinner?) LOL
I had a little glass of wine, and that was nice.
the fuddle is from fatigue (see, I can still alliterate)
that's okay Jill, I'm pretty a-literate too! *grin*
the 2 se's?
That's dear "Mother Anne" Jill -- she shows up from time to time, and then plural of her. I think there's also a SE*** Hall somewhere.
ta - the se hall did it
wheee, cutting it fine again.. 8-)
:-) next stumper?
hello Misu... what's your status?
the 1st sh5/12
Jill, I am not good in crowds or with new people because I am SH* --- but I have met some more so than I am!
now I can do other things.. until flip and thm I'll be back again 8-)
NO NO NO! You need the Hebrew word for the burning pit of horribleness.
oh Misu, YAY! see you at flip then!
(sorry Jill, my brain is fighting with my eyes and neither one is telling the whole truth)
Hi folks! As usual, when I have time to stop in and babble, I do, but I hope you all forgive me if I don't chat as much as I used to. I'd love to, but I basically just go right for the puzzle these days, simply because I have so little time. Still, of course, I'm here to beg for your help: I have one 's' and one 'f' left to go. If anyone is kind enough to help, here are the 's'es and 'f's I have so far: se5/10 se6/18 sh5/12 sh5/12 sh5/18 sh4 /5 sh5/12 sh5/20 sh6/36 sn4/4 sn5/12 s t4/4 st5/10 st4/8 fe4/8 fi4/7 fo4/7 f o4/7 fo4/7 fo5/16 fo4/8... any help appreciated!
oops! that didn't come out right. sorry!
sf -- you need an SY 4/7
am I missing something, stid? It's the first sh5/12 i need and if the Hebrew thing is the clue I'm too ignorant for it
also fo 6/42 I think
Subject form of "her" + round vowel + stick...
many thanks, stidmama!
yw sf!
Jill, the actual definition of the sh 5/12 is "the abode of the dead or of departed spirits."
ta for the sh
got the sy, but not the fo 6/42!
sf -- f + end of the hook bishops carry a cr*****
You totally rock, stidmama!! Thanks so much!!
as long as it helps!
how you doing Jill? need any more "help" from me?
11 to get in 11 minutes...
go Jill go!
I feel bad because I used to have time to chat and help out others with clues, but I can't resist the puzzle, so now when I have time I just concentrate on solving... it makes me feel bad though because I feel like I'm ignoring the folks I got to know and like on babble... ugh.
hello my babbling friends!
it happens, sf. well all sorta drift in and out, jellyfish on the tide and so forth.
heh... thanks for the clues AND the emotional support, stidmama!
hi debb! hope it didn't take you that long to drive home tonight! What part of LA are you in? Are you close to the fires on I-5 over the grapevine?
it didn't take me that long -- did a couple of errands!! i'm not near the fire, but believe it or not you can sort of smell it in the air - very sad -- don't you have relatives that live here? i'm in brentwood...
I have these images of you ensconced in a chic little apartment in Hollywood or maybe near the Huntington Library, someplace like Alhambra...
lol -- no - but i do love the huntington library - so prtty
My father is down there visiting his sister and my mother's mother (Granny has full-time caregivers since the stroke, but we try to check in on her regularly) in Azusa and Highland Park/Eagle Rock
hey debb...good win tonight
Me too! One of these days, I'll invent a research project so I can look at some of the really cool books in the library. :-)
