me too
combination of the two works, though

i think pitter should be a word, too

the pitter patter of little feet
in that case hugabugs, blowing one's nose ought to be. . .
snottage!
LOL

pitter patter?

I know pitter patter of little feet. Tolkien?

Ifrane. it's a city of your 10,000 people in the MIddle-Atlas mountains. A resort town that is busy in the summer and holidays and dead in the winter.
The AP reported this... Spanish police arrested a Moroccan suspected of belonging to an al-Qaida-linked group that allegedly recruited people to commit suicide attacks in Iraq, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

ah! I get it!
that is foul!
thx hilary, not too many prairie dogs around here
nyuk nyuk nyuk...
hmmm... the biological niche filled by a bilby, i think
hillary, the last op 5 is a crystal with "fight"
kitty can you give another clue about your op6?
Yeah - that wasn't a very good clue, was it? OP+smack something + vowel
Is that better? I can try again...
triffic..tks very much kitty
mistyped ,that was op6
hillary, still no prairie dog
Andree - they also use the term on movie sets - the messenger boy
Andree - think of the movie Caddie Shack with Bill Murray.
thx ursh and dianne, thought they were burrowing animals?
they are burrowing animals i think like large moles
andree -- little buck-toothed critter, also a brand of mobility aid in oz
still hamstrung on the op6/21 and op7/32 that come before the crystal. any ideas?
hill,a surgeon will ****ate ** his patient.

yw ursh
brilliant. tks fizz
Good morning/evening all. TIme to get started!
yw, hill and guess what the 7 is.
hi Haz
Hello sprite - nice to see you!
you too :)
It looks like a nice grid - some of the words have been in very recently. That's when you start to feel all grids merge together...
it is true, lots of repeats lately. But it is just a matter of time until we are trapped by a grid that has little or no common words :)
Anwyay, not complaining about this grid so far, lots of nice sequences going.
it is so rewarding, having an R, S and D there :D
what's the significance of r s and d?
lots of word sequences with verb, 3rd person singular and past tense for instance
You can make things again (re) make plurals or present tenses (s), make past tenses (d)
oh! syntax! I thought they might be initials or something.
lol, no, I meant rewarding in babble-sense
Wot, no volcano today?!
sadly missing
It was one you could rely on, can't enen trust volcanos nowadays *pout*
ahhh lizmac... hang in there, it will be back very soon!

yay, greyed out the V!
OH LOOK....we have snow, big fat flakes, very pretty
Been diagnosed with PTSS and now getting EMDR treatment. All connected with abusive childhood and a very bad work situation. It's a bit muchish.
I love snow - at least while it falls and before it is trampled.
karys, that is one comment you will probably never hear from me.
haven't seen snow for a very long time. enjoy it for me.
Hi all
yay for Fran on the V!
hi angb!
evening, angb.
Good evening Ang!
thats sad Sprite,... sorry to hear that for you, and will definately be thinking about you, it's one of the reasons for my fostering past.
Sprite - that sounds quite involved. What is EMDR?
Fran...we don't get that much though
and I can't even find one 'v' !!
sounds nice karys, we'll never have snow here though, that's what i meant. :-)
isn't it scary how many of us share a similar past? Lots of damage in the world :( Angb: it is a psychotherapeutic treatment that works with eye movements and 'reliving' the traumatic events. Sounds kinda bizarre, but it seems it can help disconnecting the memory from the present, emotionally.
Thanks for that V Fran - hadn't even seen it - now all gray - and an 8 to boot!
karys, they all build from two words, once you find those two you'll get the rest, including an 8!
Well Sprite - does sound a little different, but if there is hope that things get better, I believe stuff is worth a go. My best wishes for you.
woo hoo lynxxx!
will look
ok, moving down to the vs.
got it !!!
i knew you would karys!
go karys *mumbles to herself*
how nice that a lot of yesterday's words are in today's grid again.
funny thing is, that EMDR sounds so very new age, but it is regular treatment, recommended by psychiatrist and all. You should have seen my face when they brought it up the first time :)
goody! got em.
thanks guys.
There's a lot we have no idea about, otherwise we would be making heaps of money I suppose.
you got that right angb!
woo hoo kanga!
I would like that, lol
no time to make money. babbling.
lol kanga !
kanga, you crack me up
Aaah Fran I got the v 8 too. Thanks
cool angb
yay, that's a grey V for me too, thanks
funny how it lifts the spirits!
Thats 200 points for Ang! and Sprite!

I need one D too
I am one short as well, Fran. What I have is not strange.
yw fran
it must be the same one we all need
not getting the presidential clue?
no, greyed out the D and no strange words.
eva, think of the building that houses the heads of the military.
thanks sprite, it's probably like my Q last night
no babble grid without at least one blind spot, Fran, not for me anyway!
thanks!
be doing well with just one, fran!
me too - I was being pretty de5.12 about that HE
found lost 'd'
With you there Kanga - the grid is just one big blind spot with small glimmers
:) ang
yay Karys!
aargh, greyed D! i didn't have a singular for a plural i had put in.
glad it's not just me doing that1
clear case of babblitus interruptus, Fran!
Fran - I just got a D that I had never heard of before and when I looked up the def it said it is an English/Scottish word. Maybe not strange to others, but strange to us!
is that what it's called? :-)
Sorry - didnt see that you were done
ok, that's it. i'm going to have to do the ds just out of curiousity!
it's okay kitty, thanks, when you've played babble long enough, you're idea of strange changes a lot!
lol kanga!
it is, Fran. It happens when you see words faster than your fingers can handle :)
I need to find 9 more to leave 100, and then I really must go and do something !
sprite, i think i thought it was one of those "plural" words that don't have a singular.
oh yes, those. I keep forgetting them.
i better get to sleep, 78 left for tomorrow.
night everyone!
ok fran. you are definitely desensitised. some of those words are weird.
yay Fran, wd and sleep well!
Nite fran
nite Fran :)
night fran. sweet dreams.
goodnight Fran
I am with Fran, those D's are only weird to non-babblers :)
i am but young at babbling, sprite. i will learn :)
absolutely, and fast too :) You can already name at least 10 babblets, I am sure.
how many dr's are there pls
*looks sheepish*

night Eva
night eva.
how about the ne7/36?
person doing it, hillary
2 spellings even
ha!!
ne7/36 - the person doing it, but can be spelt with different vowels on the end
ok, no volcano today, but we have the japanese slipper and the pheasant(s) combo to make up for it.
ti7/32, please? the first one...
not sure about first or last, kanga, but I have can + sharp thing on animal's head.
many thanks sprite!
thank you sprite!
yw :)
but why not can + cooking vessel. a very good word.
sigh
I am with you there, kanga
definitely a word, kanga, used as an adjective to describe a poor navey
make that navy -- too many glasses of wine!
pour me one, hillary. too few here. :)
anyone got the at8??
think lawyer for the 6, pl for the 7, past tense for the 8

congrats, sprite.
not somewhere else and not off, kitty thanks BabbleRabble, and hi :)
thank you! and congrats!
yw and thanks :)
To have to manage the pain of two chronic, essentially incurable conditions truly is daunting. May you find some peace, sprite.
thank you for that, BabbleRabble. It's kinda tough, but hey, on the upside, it will make me an expert, right> ;)
I suppose. Sometimes the all anyone can do is play teh cards dealt the best he/she can.
very true. If we cannot pick the game we play, we can at least choose how we play it!
Good luck!
You too. Such understanding has to come from experience.
Thank you.
I am off for today, have a great day/night/whatever all of you and enjoy the grid :)
You too, sprite
hia all
Good morning everyone. Mousey--you are awake quite early.
thanks Sprite
Good morning, Scrabbler
Hi BR--I was reviewing the chat below for clues and I found 11 words without really looking at the grid yet.
Good for you!
did you happen to find the he8 scrabler? If so, clue please?
he - like where the defense dept is but with seven sides
No, not yet, ch, but I have found 96 words in 16 minutes--I have never typed this fast before--but I will hit the wall soon when the easy words are go4

Was she born at Westville Hospital, Ursh?
Hi Sugar!
hi kitty
no Sugar in joburg
ah, just wondered if they lived close to you. When are you going to see her?
Am going up on Monday and staying til Friday - I now have 3 g/daughters and 1 g/son - two in Joburg and two in Westville - lucky me
that's great Ursh, have a safe trip
Anyone got the Is? Could you give me a clue please?
That E, 3rd column, 4th row, anybody have that word?
in + "you come right **** this instant!" then plural
Yeah - think long time
TY
But eo4 starts from the other E.
TY ch!
tx ch1212
sorry - you're right! think takes forever
it's six letters long and it means archaic but it shares a root with something that lasts forever
Got it, TY kitty. OK, 146 to go. I must leave early due to all of the snow and bad driving ahead. Bye folks.
bye scrabbler, drive carefully!
eornes
e + te4 + e
sorry! Good thing it's a nonsense word!
got it now, tx scrabbler
ve's are hiding - i have the last 3 relating to poetry - please clue
Vs are about making something prettier by a thin covering
ah tx kitty of course
kitty kitty she's our chan! If she can't clue them no one can! :D
:-)
from where are you ch1212? If I may ask...
in Massachusetts
ahh... I keep looking at your name too fast and thinking you must be from Chicago like me
No, but a reasonable assumption. I went to a conference once in Chicago, and they put us up right across from the Hancock building - very nice.
At the Four Seasons?
Or maybe the Omni...
No, one right by it -- I remember seeing the rates and gasping, and feeling a bit outraged that taxpayer dollars were going to pay for me to stay there. (I didn't have a choice). On the other hand, I certainly didn't protest TOO much :D
I'm from Chicago originally. I used to live on East Chestnut street, right near the Hancock building when it was being built.
Very nice address! I live 3 blocks from Wrigley Field.
I miss Chicago - I live in Vermont now.
I miss it too. I'm in Munich for three months.
I grew up in the city, then moved out to the 'burbs - Hinsdale - then back into the city.
I was born in Lincoln Park, raised in Northbrook, and have been living in Wrigleyville nearly my entier adult life.
I have to go to Boston now to get my city fix. I love that city, too.
G'd morning Babblers!
I like Boston too, what little time I've spent there.
We live about 80 miles from Boston,Gail but haven't ventured into the city yet. We're still trying to get used to thet traffic out in the rural parts of the state!
Looks like a sizable grid, may I have the word total please?
hi lori
261
My daughter lives there, so I go there quite a bit. Only been to New York once, though.
Thank ye muchly.
nite
Only once? I would tihnk you'd go there more.
It's a five hour drive from my house, Boston is much closer and easier to get around.
good morning babblers how is the grid today?
Gail do you drive into Boston or take the l, or t or whatever it's called?
Boston is a hard city to drive in!
morning shorty, nice one today
G'd morning shorty. Just getting started myself, dunno' if I'll be in a dither soon, or not.
I drive - it's three hours for me. I can take the bus and then the T once I get into the city. It's an easy drive.
good ty
That's what we've heard from the locals, that even the people who live in the suburbs of Boston don't drive there. That's a bit scarey to hear for people like us from the outback of Idaho :)
I used to love driving in Boston, but not as much any more. Parking is a huge problem, too.
yikes it's 7:30 and I've got to hop in the shower and get ready for work. BBL --
Have a good day!
later ch
Later ch.
Ooops, I have to go to work, too. Nice to have a few minutes to chat.
Good Mornig babblers...It's probably easier for an oursider to drive in Boston becasue we suburbanites try to make the roads go the way we KNEW!!!! Everything is all changed around :)
G'd morning Read
G> M. all...every once in awhile I'll pop inot a converstion, but enjoy reading. COLD here today...a dn BTW I have lived south of Boston my entire life and recommend Boston as a great city to visit
Morning Read-Knit-Bake
G'd morning Mom
Good chilly morning to all
Morning LoriP
Heavy snow warning for my neck of the woods today.
The windchill continues to stay in the -2 (F) range today. I continue to be frozen....
Hi Mom...noticed you are from KY...loved visiting your state a few back...lush green pastures near the Cynthiana (sp) are where my brother-in-law use to live.
Cynthiana is a beautiful area.
Sorry, my typing make my sentence as tough to reaad as the grid is to do!!
I live about 10-15 minutes from Cincinnati, Ohio and about 20 minutes form Lawrenceburg Indiana
lol read-knit-bake
Coffee break time. Anyone else? :)
Cynthiana is about 40 minutes or so from us
That's interesting becasue that same brother in law lived in Cinncinnati for awjile as well, but has moved onto Michigan.
no thanks Lori, had tea just a bit before
Did he job takes him to all these areas?
that is a good idea!
oy vey, big puzzle
yes and no...he was employed for many years and traveled alot but is a currently an efficiency expert for large companies and has been self empoyed for many years.
where do you live krissyk?
I am sure everyone would like to get back to the grid...ty for the conversations.
I enjoyed it, thanks
I'm in Austin, TX, kitty

"Hey " even
I don't want to upset you but i've only got a black square. Will try to refresh!
i've got it now, great icon, not as good as fuggy though. Took me 2 hrs 40 mins to get in from Worcester this morning - very short on the will to live!!
Going to need to rethink the commuting aren't we?
I've just been called for lunch - it's a hard life!
It usually isn't too bad but there was a crash on the M6 which was a bit of a nightmare. Only here one day this week so not too bad.

Which of the royal family is your icon, hurshy?
the handsome prince :)
ah, I see you've just answered my question.......
lori - I don't have those go's yet
go6/30 squirrel type animal
Prince Marty is one cutie, the carrot lover
i named him after marty from back to the future because he's so cute like that.
the best looking prince I've seen in a while!
i think he thinks, "carrots are orange, i'm orange..."
lol :)
ahh - ty scarydeb
ty scary, mornin all

hi gramma
hi gramma
It's been a while since the Japanese shoes have been here
hi chiley - how are you?
japanese shoes?

this is one fun puzzle so far, back to it ( :
ge4/6...Japanese shoes
Good morning Wolvie and all other Babblers

Delayed Thank ye scary. Phone rang.
G'd morning chiley
no problem - its rare that I give clues, I'm usually only asking
LOL, I hear ya! :-)
this is first time I've actually recognized the theme, I think
Good morning Babblers... is it a troll-free day here? LOL
hi scarlet and krissy
morning, Wolvie
G'd morning Scarlet.
hi scarlet and krissy
morning scarlet
I brought my repellent, just in case....
let's talk V's. i have 3 poetry related ones, haven't been able to monkey anything else.
hiya, sugar
troll alert earlier on, but seems to be okay now
Hi, sugar, Wolvie, Annie (Brooklyn Annie), sugar and krissy. Thanks, sugar. It's been too weird lately. Looks like a fun grid.
good afternoon everybody:)
think coatings, hurshy
hi jean
G'd morning jean.
OOOps, Hi, loriP... sorry, I didn't see you. Hi, jean1953.
thanks sugar
thanks sugar - wasn't expecting real words :) lol
this is a very pleasant grid.
hello scarlet dont worry just arrived in room lol
it may be one of my all time faves.
hi jean
ty sugar
hiya jean
Hi jean makes me giggle... :)
Hi, hurshy... love your Marty. I love my big monster too... she's 15 years old and smarter than the entire Bush cabinet. Into the grid.
isn't every cat smarter than the bush cabinet?
ty sugar, got my first 8!
infinitely hurshy
:) scalet
*scarlet
LOL, hursh
marty is an international cat of mystery, too. he has aliases for various countries, and can meow different accents quite well. in scotland, he's marty mccat. in france, he's martin le chat. in russia, prince martupov.
sugar - ty again - that cleared the v's
lol hursh
my, he must be one diplomatic cat!
he's kinda the james bond of the cat world
he does look cutely debonair
does he prefer his water dish shaken, not stirred?
quick in and out and off to work but had to interject: If you haven't read Paul Gallico's 1950 classic "Jennie" please try to find a copy. It's such a wonderful, wonderful book told from the cats' point of view
LOL, Une
Paul Gallico was a wonderful writer.
thanks ch, will do - have a good day!
ahh -the new blonde version no doubt?
actually, he prefers the faucet, and likes to fling a lot of water all over the place before he begins drinking. go figure.
wow . . . am a dog person but thought cats were less than thrilled with water . . .
got to dash bbl happy babbling everybody:)
they are not generally thrilled with getting soaked, but they can be fascinated by water running, falling, etc
bye jean
it was so funny, though, when he started drinking from the faucet. because you could SEE the wheels turning in his head when he saw me do it to rinse after brushing. "that looks like a good idea!" and he had to try it right away.
hursh, you'll love this--I have a friend whose cat runs out the door whenever someone comes to visit . . . she panicked when she first adopted him but soon discovered that he only runs away UPstairs! LOL!
lol
I have one that does that une. His nickname is scardeecat. His name is China
Wolvie, that's amazing--my niece's cat is "China" and I'd never heard of that name for a cat before!
makes sense, there are china cats :)
;-) - he just looked like a china when we got him - he's a tuxedo guy.
he was my second feral rescue - not even weaned yet. Such a little snuggle bug
yay cats! CARPE FELIS!
he and my 80 pound big collie ball of fluff are best friends
does that mean he's black and white? We have a very sweet neighborhood cat with that coloring--Mao-Mao (his family was Chinese and they left him when they moved)--he's incredibly tolerant of my dogs' enthusiastic greetings!
we have 3 hursh, so I do agree.
3 cats here. Rudy, Rosie and LiLu.
yes - that's the black and white - always ready for any event!
wow, we all have 3 cats, lol
our three are China, KitKat, and Tyler
3 grand cats here, Stinky,Kitty and Charlotte
that seems to be enough. :-)
except moi . . .
altho my friend has 3 and I'm an auntie to them so I guess that counts
and i'm one of 3 sisters, too, lol
I'm a dog and cat person - love them both
lol une
one of 2 here
me too wolvie, and I have a grand dragon too named Liger
it does une ;-)
We also have a doxie/terrier mix who thinks the cats like her. They don't.
I enjoy what I call "dog cats"--3 of my friends have kitties in that category!
All creatures, great and small
a grand dragon? As in a lizard - for real?
lol krissy don't ever tell her
you have a DRAGON? hungarian horntail? chinese fireball?
yes a bearded dragon
China is like a dog in that he comes when you call him, sits, etc.
she is as big as the cats lol
wow - uhh - what do you feed him? Do you buy those little grasshoppers?
Wow, gramma. What does he eat?
urf. don't you just love insane drivers who seem to want to kill you on the roads?
ohmygosh, do they get along??
snap scarlet!
all the cats think she likes, them, she doesn't lol
hey, ata!
can't imagine the kitties damaging the dragon
oh yes she walks on a leash etc
oh yes, ata, i can't think of anyone i love more
hi ata!
wonder what the kitties think of him . . .
hi ata
hmm ata - and you aren't in Boston either. How odd. ;-0
or Nashville!
drivers here have never heard of blinkers
hah! I've driven both, even La, SF, all over infact - nothing like Boston. ;-0
Sounds like Asheville, Une
they don't come standard on cars in Ma
and they love to come lunging out of side streets!
and those are NOTHING like London!
how else does one get out? ;-0
lol, true Wovlie!
Or Cairo
so now I keep seeing kitty herb in the puzzle.
hi inge 2
when I lived in Paris I only took public transportation!!
I agree with that une
krissy - good phantom!
gotta run . . . BBL
Do the drivers in Paris still do 'line ups' at traffic lights? Three lanes but six cars revving their engines ready for the off?
bye une
c ya une
'Bye, Une
am shaking. a few minutes ago - went round a roundabout, there was a lorry in the inner lane behind me. fine. he obviously decides that I am *not* getting off the roundabout before him (even though the roundabout filters off into 2 lanes, so in theory I would have gone in 1 lane, him in the other. But no, he lurches across into my lane, about a foot away from me and STOPS. dead. I brake madly, everything flies everywhere. So do the people behind me. So I signal off into the overtaking lane to try and get past him, and - get this - he tries to RAM MY CAR with his lorry! I just just just got past him and sped off, just in time to see him in a layby signalling me to get over there and talk to him! AS IF!
whoa atalante
jeepers!
glad you're ok
I just wish I'd seen his number plate
OMG ata - glad you got away
Yeow... what a massive jerk.
wow ata
hi dan2
ata, that is awful...
get his license and report him? Probably didn't have time
hi wolvie
If the truck had a company name on it, report him
Atlante was just on the news here (England) a guy guy has been prosecuted and lost his lis for driving past a row of cars at 70 miles an hour while shaving!!!!Nuts or what
absolutely inge - I would
hi maggy
and I'm soooooo glad I didn't have Hobbit in the back ... I wish, Inge ... I just wanted to get a lot of fresh air between me and him! I know I'll remember the company name if I think about it hard enough, and damn right I will!
wtg ata - what a jerk that guy is
hi wolvie all
this was england too, maggy. the drivers here are mad today. saw 3 crashes as well
Hobbit is your dog?
yup, she would have got flung *everywhere*
right. yikes.
very glad hobbit was home
wow - note to self - don't drive in London
don't know about there but here some truckers use amphetamines and it makes them crazy
my sons a cop..he says mobile phones cause more accidents than drink drivers drugs user put together
yes, same here, Inge, especially the ones that drive across Europe (and we're right down by the ports that cross to France and Belgium)
Ata, thank goodness no one was hurt...but badly shook up
I believe it Maggy, I've come close to being hit at least 3x by people trying to negotiate turns while on the phone
that wouldn't surprise me at all, maggy
the day they give penalty points for mobile phone use will be a good day
it was even worse when the phones were "car" phones - bolted to the car. yee gods
and unfortunately every country is cutting their police forces to the minum and we just dont have enough patrols out
lots of cities have laws about that here in the states now
we do too wolvie but not enough people to enforce them..we have too many CHiefs and not enough Idians
nice innocuous grid here Atalante to calm down with
I hear ya maggy
Fireworks!
in NYC you have to use a hands- free phone but I see many that have one hand on the wheel the other holding a phone and turning corners, makes me blanch...they are so deep into conversation they dont pay any attention to what they are doing
wtg Merk!
Good job, Merk. WTG
congrats, Merk
ooh! nearly monkeyd my way to 100... time for work already, though :( hi and bye everyone
yay merk!
See you later, pappa.
hi smooth
Studies show hands-free phones are no safer on the road.
bye smooth ;-)
hey - got an he 8 - all on my own and no monkeys!!
I believe you Inge2..when you are driving nothing should distract you...progress???
and of course, that gave me the 9!
I only have one 8---ve
annie - the he is a structure - like a rectangle type thingy
I only have one 8: at
hmm - I have to look for that
ty ... a nice grid today
I'm back, think my server went down
it's like a multi-sided figure with liver disease
there are also 2 ne8's

Hiya, Haz and evan
Hello - I've been here for a while but nobody saw me...
how is everyone this morning? everyone toasty warm??
It's a combination of two words, one a metal the other animal or metal depending where you find it.
since I am inside evan, yes I am. ;-)
how about you?
did you say anything haz? cause if not, it's not surprising that we didn't see you. but if so, i'm sorry!!
Got the 8 & 9. Thanks, Wolvie

yw
*musical
A while back, when the conversation was about evil drivers. But it's no problem...
my daughter's building heat went down yesterday, they brought her an electric heater and this morning the electricity was off. nothing left but a gas oven for heat.
sorry
well i'm glad you're here, anyway :)
hi haz!
hi inge
Guten MOrgen, Babblers, enjoying the grid while trollfree.
Hello Atalante - and the rest!
hi angel
i have a space heater constantly blowing on my feet while im at work -- our building is perfectly heated, but im always colder than everyone else!
joining in the fun of this nice big but friendly grid.. howdy all
ahem.....helloooooooooo Babble!
inge - what was the musical for - clue?
said hellloooooo angel. ;-)
hi aloy
hey aloy, and everyone I missed
HELLLLLOOOOOOOO, Angelsong! We are freezing in Asheville, and the fingers are a bit logy!
hey, angel.. its ok, sometimes I am invisible, but that is because babble brains are busy, lol (-:

Wolvie, thing lawyer, and the root gave me three words
*think*
hiya aloy and angel

tx Hurshy managed to find them
11 degrees here, brrrr
how about the i's? i'm flummoxed.
I'm originally from San Antonio, so cold in Texas is not new.. but it's not right! :-)
me too hursh
in + NOT there, hurshy
They're stupid words - spoken in reply to 'where are you? 'I'm in6/21'
ty aloy - I would never have thought that was a word
not there but **** - really stupid words
a phrase, yes - a word no. ;-)
yw, and don't forget the pl
oh i am stupid.
they are not stupid words. they are the basis for in****nt
hardly
in* means a fundamental part of something
like hurshy said
I think it has something to do with genetically secure ... well, hursh said it first
going to look at the list - 67 to go and I can't find them!
Sam - is that your dog? What a pic!
there is something new on the first page of the Babble Resource Guide, y'alll.
the full blown in****nt I know, did not know the basis
no. that's the world record ear length dog. I just like him a lot. Used to have a basset.
people don't use the word much.
i suppose because it's an odd verb - active grammatically, but passive in content.
ah. still quite the pic
it's not in*****ent to most lexicons
se6/24 please
se6/24 - almost an African country
nm found it and Fireworks tx all for nice clues
Congrats ursh!
Well done ursh.
Yea, ursh.
Congrats Ursh! Thx for clue Hursh!
congrats to ursh!
I mean Haz!
hi ypsi
Hi Wolvie & everyone
we should get optagon, too, a shape with a positive outlook...
hints for that second H?
they're both compound
legal type or old fashionedy words
like where the dept of defense is but with seven sides
the second hs both use a preposition, not there but h***
hi kitty
hi!
ok, found one of them...HE6
ahh, found the other -- thanks for the clue :)
evan - I have the he 6 - how many letters in the other?
another HE6
ty - will look
one is go ** the store the other is not off, but **
oh duh - ty evan
Haz, great clue for the se 6.24.. back in time to see it.. tyvm
You're welcome, Aloy.
first ag5/14?
a + what has your DNA in it
a + going, going, ****
whoops, wrong one, sorry.. not on list yet
thanks anyway aloyisius :D
i could use some help with the upper O, i'm missing 3 of them. i have 5 that go together, and mined things.
at6/18?
lawyer minus the end
lol, i think re4.5 has been in the last 3 grids, and I finally saw it without a prompt..
thanks hurshy
op6/24 - starts like a tragic heroine, ends with rearranged neckwear
ty haz
do you have the one that has to do with ge4.6 regulation? Starts with singing play and ends with opp of off
op6/21 and op7/32 - op, a vowel, a dead President shortened
Haz, thanks
ty haz
The whole resembling like a Shakespeare King (of fairies, at any rate)
ty, Haz... that was the only O i needed from that tile!
You're welcome.
thanks again :)
i was desperate. had tried opher... as in, i'm gonna make you an opher you can't rephuse
hints for the single E in the center column?
I had that one, Haz, but what a wonderful clue. :-)
our good old forver friend, evanadine
ty haz - that cleaned up the o's
Glad you liked it, Scarlet.
??
ahh, NK i got it
short for ever after evan
thanks haz!
et6 - a seabird encased in vowels forever
ep5/14?
take an eu word for extreme joy and remove 3 vowels
ep and first part of a large pony
ooh, fun finding go6.30 and its pl, but I don't like what those critters do in my garden!
Thanks, Alo
Haz - you are really funny!
I'll take that as a compliment, kitty,
the seabird encased in vowels forever is simply brilliant!
thanks hurshy :D
and so was the shakespearean king
mmmmmmm......white chocolate hot cocoa....
I'm with you, Annie, the king was "the king" of all clues
Sometimes my clues fall on stony ground, so it's nice to see them understood!
female cock alert.. go6.27
One of your finer works Haz :)
Haz, it isn't nice to refer to my brain like that before my second cup of coffee!
ty alo
thanks aloy
hi FM
hi FMitch!
Hello FMitch!
ty aloy
Hi FM
Scarlet - no insult to your brain at all. It's just that sometimes I give a clue and I get 'huh' in return!
Hi guys, just pooed in to say hello as work is in the way again. Hows the grid?
very nice today FM
fun, fun, today, FM
LOL, LOL, Haz. Keep at it... when I'm plank-brained, I'll ask for some clarification. Don't ever stop being YOU.
Do you want to rephrase that, FM? Your first sentence I mean...
*popped in
FM You pooed? In public?
That's better! How are you today?
Probably just as well Im not tryin to do the grid yet. Im OK Haz on the right road. Hows you and How is Spangle?
Hello everyone! Ugh, what have I stepped in? FMitch! REALLY! ;-)
hi Jac!!
Good day, Jacula.
I'm not too bad, thank you and Spangle is much better. She got lots of cuddles from me but I rather think the medication has helped her more.... She was keen to go for her walk today. No more piteous glances and holding up of paws.
Hi Jacula
LOL Jacs and it's good to see you too.
this is good news haz
Hello Jacula, good to see you!
hi jacula
I didnt know Spangle was unwell, glad to hear she is doing better
Haz - What happened to Spangle??
She had a sprained wrist, or the equivalent - husband prescribed some wonder medicine and it has done the trick. I don't really know what started it off, but she's on the mend.
Morning word finders!
hi Judi!
Good morning Judi.
hi, judi
Poor Spangle! Hope she's better soon.
Morning, Judi.
morning, Judi
She'll be fine - she can still make her way to the treat cupboard.....
the ge5/14 afterthe multiple for parts of DNA?
hi judi
Speaking of getting better... how are you, FMitch?
a plus after you left, you are g***
make the adj for the DNA word and then cut of the end
off, why do i keep doing that???
thanks for asking Jacs Im getting there but it is a slow path.
part of DNA extended with a * shirt
You want some of Spangle's medicine?
I didn't know you'd been ill FM - glad to hear you are recovering
ooh, FM... didn't know you were ill.. sorry to hear that
ahh thanks aloyisius
FMitch - you take it easy. We want you fighting fit again. xx
oh duh - jeez and all of that - a clued an ag -sorry
*offers hot cocoa to fellow babblers* still very hot -- white chocolate!
right, must be off got courier coming at 4.30 and still have stuff to prep. Good to see you all. Happy Babbling.
bye FM
take care, FM... see you next time
As today's theme is 'your favourite museum exhibit' I thought a picture of myself most appropriate. I'm smiling at something on the chatlog in the pic.
Thanks FMitch - it's a lovely grid today, even if you want to tackle it later one for fun. The slasher chicken is even there.
'Bye, FMitch.
You're not old enough yet to qualify as a museum piece!
Haz - Thank you, kind lady!
nice pic Jac!
*packs up hot cocoa and puts it away* guess no one wants any!
I do, I do.. hold on...
it's the white choco evan - I only "do" dark. ;-0
aaahhh, ty, evan... delish!
evanadine - I'll have some. I'm freezing he4/5. *Gets up to close window.*
seriously, any will do. ;-)
kinda tastes like marshmallows
I am missing an a - I have 6 ag's and 9 at's - what am I missing?
Another ag word
An ag, Wolvie.
There's an Oreo in the puzzle to go with that hot chocolate.
an ag
oh bother. ty haz
rote
and babble - and hello babble
Sorry! Stepped in that poo.
yeah, sorry judi -- FM left if behind...
Let's just be glad Gillian McKeith isn't around.
haz - that one is lost on me.
*raises toast in hopes of a troll-free day*
I agree with that evan!
I'll drink to that, evanadine.
hi ho hi ho off to the list I go..brb
the last ge5/14?
Gillian McKeith is a TV nutritionist who takes obese people in hand. Part of her shock tactics is to analyse their poo.....
Me, too, Judi!
Haz - Yuk!
oh, delish
O - M -G haz - I have missed nothing!
I think GOTTA should make the cut!
yikes -- i dont wanna know what shed have to say about my poo!
You're right about that, Wolvie!
kitty - so should norse!
ok, how come it takes the adult PO5 but not the PO4 version?
I was thinking about having a chicken sandwich for lunch but have kind of go4/6 off the idea now....
it does...
the things on TV that folks watch today never cease to appall me.
weird -- i coulda sworn it said it wouldnt take that... DOH!
last ge5/14 anyone?
like the group of stuff from above witha diff vowel end, arwennn
ge5/14 - differs from the previous type of ge5/14 only in the last vowel
I still have one 'g' to find, arwenn.
thanks haz
You're welcome.
ty haz
I'm not se*ing the 'i' words at all!
it gettin hot in****, so take off all your clothes....
Jacula - think of a root for something that is an intrinsic quality
Okay, but what's the clue for the i word???
man, I hate that song more than I can say!
Thanks, evan!
;)
jac -- make it plural for the other i
...and Haz.
No problem.
evan - already did that, thanks. It's a policy to always add an 's' in ho4/6 it's a word.
Never heard that i before. *bell rings* I guess I just learned something.
must be off , bbl
heh
Bye Wolvie!
'Bye, Wolvie.
man, i was so cold earlier even my space heater wasnt helping.... now im almost sweating!
Quite a bit of wildlife in today's grid, isn't there?
go6/30?
Smaller version of a groundhog, arwenn.
arwenn - garden pest in USA.
go6/30 sounds like one who runs errands but is spelt differently.
yeah...ER4, GO6, DE4...oh my!
ahh thanks jac
Don't forget the Hipo, Evanadine!
also ga 5 and te 4 and te 5 x2 and te 6
hippo?
It must have been to Weightwatchers, Judi! LOL
Well, it's a slim hippo. He's missing a p.
*totally missing something*
and the ho 5/12. but where's the fish?
Fireworks...
broll, you mean he5/12?
Congratulations Angelsong!
clue for that arwennn
congrats angelsong!
Bah . .261? . .Not today . .
no, but thanks for that!
ER4, GO6, DE4, HO5, HE4...any other animals actually in the grid??
congrats angel
he5/12 - a water bird with a long neck that comes in blue and white
not too hard tor i have 145 in 30 minutes
Do they have to be animals, are birds discounted?
to4/5 - African gazelle
thanks arwennn
ER4, GO6, DE4, HO5, HE4, HE5...it really is a wild kingdom!! haz -- im including birds as animals -- the ER4, HE4, and HE5 are birdies...
Then don't forget the ge5/14
ER4, GO6, DE4, HO5, HE4, HE5, GE5, TO4 -- *WOW!*
And the go6/27 and go7/40
fireworks!
*opens umbrella and grabs pooper scooper* This could get messy.
ga5/14 and ga6/24
haz -- i think thats different from the GO6 i already have....hints?
clue for the go6/27 haz
wildlife I have found so far: de4, er 4x2 + 5, ga5 & 6, ge5 x 2 (one bird, one animal), go6 &7 (animal), go6 & 7 (fowl), he4, he5 & 6, ho6 (stinging thing), ho 5 & 6, pe4 (female swans), te4 5x2 & 6, to4 (antelope), to4 (bull).
It was memorably clued a good while ago and being the sort of chicken that would appear in slasher movies.
ga is a childs way of saying the name of the animal that lives in the water but is not a fish
thanks haz
think Dr God tried out a themed grid today??
I don't know, but it was a very nice one!
Haz - have you finished? I've still got 32 to go.
Yes, I finished a little while ago.
Congrats, Haz.
Thank you!
I need to run but I wish you all very good luck with the rest of the puzzle!
Bye kittychan.
Thank you, kittychan. 'Bye.
Bye, Kittykittykitty!
bye kitty
I'm trying to get a feline word from the 'c' but no luck, so far... only found Miss Blanchett.
...and the food providing words.
Don't forget the plural, jac
Shame there were no felines to add to the wildlife list!
jac, where a lion lives in a zoo, poor thing
ge5/14 is a feline
I've got the c's, thanks.
pab - yes.
I take it you've all found the ti6 & 2x ti7? 'Ti**** through the tulips.'
second day in a row for the whisky mash
Hearing Tiny TIm as we speak.
Thanks, Jac
pab - yes! The police haven't located the Babble still yet.;-)
Haz - me, too.
y/w, Scarlet.
Our brains must be stuffed with the same images from the sixties and seventies.
What was his Miss ? whom he married on the Johnny Carson show?
Haz - yeah, man!
Tiny Tim scares me. I think he's been reincarnated as Weird Al Yankovic.
Right on!
Miss Vicky?
Judi - I've always thought that... or the lead singer of The Darkness.
Yea! That's the lady, Annie. Gosh, we must be ancient! LOL
that's it annie
Or, he could be Howard Stern.
what kind of feline is the GE5/14 then, Pab?
tiny tim scares me more than weird al
Howard Stern is a gigantic jerk with a permission slip from Satan
howard stern terrifies me though
I thought I was the only one that Tiny Tim scared. Glad to see I am not alone
it's a small spotted european cat liz
Just had to look Howard Stern up. See what you mean!
Scarlet, wonderful description of Howard Stern. I couldnt agree more
I heard him on an NPR interview before he died, and his voice was quite basso profundo. His mind was sharp and filled with esoterica from the past geniuses of music. TY, Annie.
Why can't someone who ti7/32 be a ti****r?
how many words today?
I wondered that myself, Jacula. Apparently the appropriate descriptive word for that is "insane".
261
good point jacula
ty annie
This was debated earlier, Jacula but I don't think we could come up with an explanation. But you can't have a to*r so maybe that's why.
Suppose so, Haz.
Speaking of scarey... did anyone see Prince's performance at the Superbowl?
No, Judi.
wait, what's this ti7/32? i have the compound one...
yes judi, it was awful!!
I can't find this darn cat, Pab..any clues for me?
verb form, hursh.
I agree Scarlet I cant stand Howard Stern
hurshy - when you want to go somewhere stealthily.
oh my goodness, wasn't that bad, of course i'm not a prince fan so i guess i can't really have an opinion :)
ah... through the tulips i go.
Yes, I regret to say I did, Judi, and I still feel nauseous.
liz add a consonant to the DNA part
liz - add a beverage letter to the ge4/6
lizmac - ge + what Ena Sharples wore on her head.
Oh, shorty, he is such a pig, and such a self-promoter!
Prince and Superbowl just do not go together. They should have brought Billy Joel back for an encore performance after the anthem.
Well, well and golly gosh...TY
cirque du soleil doesn't really go with the superbowl either...
I know I cant even stand to look at him
He make me SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the babushka that gave me a clue that the old boy was really reaching.... LOL
i have no objection to them on their own, but they are not footballish.
no kidding, WHAT was he thinking wearing that??
True. Why does someone even have to perform? Why can't they just have a kick ass fireworks / laser light show?
well it was raining maybe he was trying to keep dry
I think Prince was wearing the Aunt Jemima kerchief to keep his laquered hair from getting rained on. Why on earth would he have tied it like that though?
LOL, Judi. Oh, hursh, it was pathetic. How about some REAL entertainment for a change. Janet Jackson, Prince... I should have turned on the Puppy Bowl III... at least they had kitties for their half-time show...
exactly Judi, besides who watches for the halftime show, i watch for the commercials and the game, that is the game and the commercials ;)
yeah, the only one i've liked was paul mccartney's
you know youre bored at work when you go to the office supply center just for something to do + youre super-excited that they have green pens...
What would be wrong with a good round of Mexican waving? Great audience participation and cheap as well.
i liked the dalmations commercial
Try not to do too many cartwheels, Evanadine.
that was good maggie, i also loved the snickers commercial i still snicker over it ;0
That, and the crabs, a la "2001"
I liked the Blockbuster mouse commercial, too. ALthough I thought this year's commercials were pretty bland.
Yeah, CiociaJudy. It did seem to be an off year for really quality commercials.
hi all! don't get too close, I have the second virus in five days, **sniff sniff cough*
Not only bland, but extremely, graphically violent... does that pass for expertise these days?
The Prince performance was perfect for me--that's when I ran around the house doing stuff!! LOL Didn't want to miss the commercials!! LOL
Sorry to interject - I though the Doritos commerical by the amateurs was one of the best
we were thinking that after the janet jackson fiasco, they might have been trying to bring it back down to "simpler times" i dunno how prince fits that bill though... they should get someone like john cougar -- true rocl-n-roll and americana...
they were, usually Bud has really good commercials and i was really disappointed they didn't have any spotlighting the clydesdales
*hands Stid honey lemon tea* poor baby, Stid *pats stid on head keeping safe distance*
oh, that tea is JUST what I needed, thanks "auntie"
Shall I throw in a shot of whiskey, too, Stid?
the one with the depressed machine working in the car factory was the one i remember best...
LOL! Just watched the YouTube video of Prince's Superbowl performance. He's wearing Hilda Ogden's headgear.
*snags bottle of whishy*
I loved the series of office commercials... they were SO FUNNY!
sounds like you've had enough stidmama
now, now Stid. Moderation is key. LOL
oh, sorry to hear that stid... have you tried any of those new flu meds?
But not with the curlers, Jac?
oops. *whisKey* LOL
Haz - sans curler, yes.
Sorry you're sick, stid. We use the Vicks liquigels for serious symptoms, and no drowsiness, either.
*curlers
Glad to hear it!
I haven't Aloyisius, perhaps I should, but I'll give it today before I go to the store. It's a long drive to the store...
Just got the ve6,7 &8. Should have just referred back to Prince's hair. *smack*
how nasty cold is it there, stid?
A bonnet de douche would have been better, considering the weather, Haz.;-)
please elucidate Judi
That would have been priceless!
Judi, good clue... I hadn't even seen that, and it's the immediate word that popped into my head, re: his hair!
Well, Jac, he did look like a douche bag, so he got it half right.
uh-oh...what did i walk into? i hear some people trash-talking his Royal badness!
thx Judi! had the 6 but forgot about the 7 & 8
not bad Aloyisius, about our normal -- down to the high 30s at night, into the fifties by mid-day. foggy, drizzly... the trees look so pretty in the mist
this could get ugly ;)
never mind Judi
Prince is one of my favorite performers...and I'm being serious.
I need help on those V words also...
absolutely freezing here in PA. Windchills were about minus 20 this morning.
In the blue corner, we have Bloodaxe and bookgrrl and in the red corner we have......
I like his music, but I don't particularly like the silly dancing ...
Hi, Blood... just a re-cap and critique of the Super Bowl, commercials and half-time "entertainment"
freezing here too school was cancelled again
lol haz
oh Judy! that's WAY too cold! are you doing okay? is your father okay?
of course, The Entertainer Formerly Known As and Again Known as Prince is from my teen years...
hi everyone! how far back is that ve7/8 clue?
we're toasty. thx for asking Stid. Hated to go out for work today. :(
ok, I'll offer my two cents; I expected to HATE the half time show, but I actually liked it and admired the gusto with which all the performers played in the driving rain.. worried about electrical shocks and instruments getting ruined tho
hey all, I loved the one with robert goulet
ve6,8 & 7 = a thin layer of wood or 'a ve**** of respectability'.
well i LOVE prince...i think he is one of the absolute best songwriters/performers of all time...a little excentric...but amazing.
i love him, too...i agree and his last was amiazing
ditto, bloodaxe; his concert was THE best one i've ever seen (and I've been to hundreds)
got it! thanks Jacula!
He's also one of the best guitarists around, even though that's not how people see him
having said that, his excentricities (did I spell that right) definately leave him open to attack...
Okay.... that's two for Prince. I must admit, the show was high energy. The SHOW was okay, just Prince was disturbing.
ty jacs!
I am ambivalent re Prince or The Artist formerly known as 'squiggle'. I'll be referee. LOL.
eccentricities, Blood.
We were pleased to note that he wasn't lip-syncing...
y/w, stid.
ok..now it's time to babble!
thanks jac!
go Bloodaxe go!
What was Shiela Easton or Shiela E thinking?
Well, I must retire gracefully to do some chores. Today's grid was fun, no trolls to speak of and good company. Just like old times....... have a good day, everyone. (I have no opinion on Prince)
I am going to get the kids onto the bus, then back in a bit.
I noticed that he wasn't really playing the guitar. The music was definitely dubbed. Probably so he would get an electric shock from the rain.
good morning, everyone ;)
cu Haz. Have a great day.
bye haz and stid....
later HAz
cu later stid.
Rather - wouldn't get a shock.
Hi, Nan.
Byeee!
bye haz! see you later
bye, Haz, and ty again for your incredible clues..
'Bye Haz. See you tomorrow.
hello, hello
hi nan
Bye Haz. Hi, nan
ana babana!!!!!
mornin' turtle!
And, hi, turtle
Duggy!!
{{TO}}
Hi cybernan & turtle.
Has anyone found the go 7/8 combo that was called last night? -- couldn't find it then and it didn't jump up and bite me this morning either!
how many 8's are there today
there are 2 go6/7 combos, but no 7/8
6
? got some 6.7 combos
6/8s; one 9; 22 7s and 63 6s
(((judy)))) sending warmth your way brrrrrrrrrrr
garden pests and female cocks
oh -- have one of the 6/7's -- I guess someone couldn't count!
cluck, cluck
brrrr TO. Hope you're staying warm.
have the ve8 , what do the others start with
morning everyone!!
all ve's, pabtrek.
Is your back better, bloodaxe?
hello, angela
thanks Jacula
Hi, Angela.
there is a ve 6 & 7 related to the 8, the others have to do with odes
first thing I wanted to type in was catnip :)
3 x ve thin layers & 3 x rhyming words.
sure is snp...but i don't now if it's better because the drugs are so good or if because it's acutally healing.
we had that ne5.12 yesterday!
Well, at least it's better
yea.
the good part is at least i've been able to watch some movies since i'm not supposed to move/walk
Nice! Look at the bright side, eh?
i have all the ti words except the first ti 7/8. is it obvious?
might I suggest Shaun of the Dead to you for a movie title Blood?
that's right....
a new cowboy and plural
there are two ti 7.8 combos?
term used in old westerns to describe a guy new to the cowboy life
hi TO!
The news on MSNBC is filled with the saga of Lisa Nowak, the astronaut who just went nutso and drove from Houston to Florida to attack an aeronautical engineer... seems to be a modern Shakespearean tragedy... no one is dead. She spent the night in jail. Attacked with pepper spray and other lovelies... wore diapers all the way on the drive so she wouldn't have to stop... The world is officially crazy.
a ti 7/8 and a ti 7/7
aahhh...great movie angela...unfortunately my selection is rather slim. i've had to resort to "pirating" to get movies to watch.
oh, i know i read about her this morning--what a wackjob
oh my goodness, what a sad thing, Scarlet! I haven't checked the news at all yet.
one of my faves Blood - so I had to suggest it
bloodaxe -- no netflix type of thing where you are, then?
that story is on NPR news right now--amazing!
haha thanks for summing the story up for me scarlet, i was feeling too lazy to read it all
that is the weirdest thing i've ever heard.
what was the motive scarlet?
It's insane, but NASA said she had passed all of her psychological testing, and actually went into space...
what in the world ticked Lisa off the end of sanity?
the diapers part was the looniest -- she wore diapers so she souldnt have to take a rest stop!
a MAN.
Motive, Ang... the usual suspects... Love. A man.
i wish evan. so movie stores/rental places, but you can find tons of movies in the bigger cities, bootlegged, for about $1
according to NPR she attempted to kidnap a rival for the affections of a third person
thanks for the ti 7.8 combo -- had the 6.7.7 combo
shoulda guessed that
Ah...those men...can't live with 'em...hehehe
optin
*notes that shes already a married mother of 3, if i read correctly
sorry
That's right, evan. You're welcome, SGIC. LOL
hello, how's the grid today? sort of long I see
a friend of mine is a police officer that catches internet predators, so most stories seem tame compared to his :)
so wait, the engineer she attacked was another woman, and they both liked the same guy, is that right?
thats it hurshy
Some gambling addicts wear diapers when they use the gambling machines for the same reason. Hi all!
wow.
hi, swmbo!
eeeeeeeeeew swmbo!!
smbo: I live in NV. Some people don't even use the diapers. they use the change cups.
einfo didn't need swmbo
Lusted after, hursh... it's now official.. the end is nigh
hubby used to do change back in the 80's. he has all sorts of stories
*info
EEEEEWWW!! No wonder it always smells at Foxwoods!
sorry. I need another nudge toward the new cowboy...
me too swmbo...
metal + something you toot
Swmbo, compound word
could i please have the stats for the 8's
i have been trying to get the rookie cowboy hint, but I don't see it...
ah...like *bleep* through a...
thanks Scarlet and Aloyisius
Hmmm. . .Women fighting over a man . . .Where have I heard that before?? . .
:P
yw, glad you got it
LOL tor...
they could go on Jerry Springer
in your living room tor? LOL
Just leave the diapers at home . .
LOL, tor
Good morning everyone.
can i have another clue for the ti 7/8?
Judy, some of us have been fighting over tor the last couple days... *grin* poor man doesn't know who to choose!
mornin' strider
morning strider
hey strider
ti + a consonant, and ho4/5
Hi, strider.
hi jaime and strider...
ti7/8= a metal + what a trumpet is
I think "jiga" should be a word... you know, like "jiga what?"
lol red
yay, thanks!
Good morning, Strider
ti 7.8: metal + brass instrument
" jiga o' gin"
thanks for the ti words!
that ti 7.8 might need a jiga o' gin.
Or Redeye
ok. words. let me see.
is there just one gi?
totaly stymied with 59 to go -- may go for the list today
only one gi
you can do it cnan! i'm at 18
only one that I can see hurshy
gi 4/6
go hurshy go!
go nan!
okey dokey
I'm at 20 left, cyber. It's a nice grid.
I'm at Mach 111 left...
ooh! I am past halfway :-)
Go stid..
yay Stid! Go!
missing an n from the top corner -- any guesses?
jigot
gigot :)
gigello
2 combos, cnan, and one shorter one contained in one of those.
Wow... I just found ne 6. 7. 8 without any list, yet.
gigolo
hi all, looks like another yummy huge grid!
OOOOPS, exactly, no points for trying though!! Sorry.
yeah... wasn't sure how to spell that one. hehe.
Hi, Gwen.
it's like a reflex for me to correct spelling. sigh.
hey Gwen!
that's ok. me, too, usually. =) I'm ok not knowing how to spell that word. ha.
OK OK, I said I was sorry, no need to take the p***!!lol
Don't ever stop that, hursh. I want to know when I'm in error.
Hi
n
ty hurshy -- forgot a plural
gwen!
hmph, why am i so stuck?
Me, too, Hursh. Have to sit on my hands sometimes.:/
(Re the spelling, not the 'stuck'!)
yeah, sitting on my hands would just make me more stuck :)
*SHOVE* does that help, hurshy?
LOL stid
we'll find out...
Hey, perhaps it SHOULD be spelt Jigalo..;)
clues for the ne's scarlet please
or jigolo
hey! Just found the University of Minnesota's mascot in here. heh.
not yet stid
One who nixes something, to do that, and those who do.
two sp's of those who do it.
thanks scarlet
YW, pab
thanks hurshy
kittychan, kittychan, where for art thou kittychan
Thanks, hursh
thanks hurshy. didn't realize that
jac, do you want to explain about wherefore, or should i? ;)
thanks for the NEs!

Yes. 261

hi ren
Could I have found that out for myself somewhere? I did look....
Hi, brother wolf.

Hi, ren8, and welcome, Wolfrick. Look at the bottom of the numbers' tile stats and go to Lickety's List or Angelsong
I don't remember if you see the tile stats as a non member scarlet - or the lickety stuff - so they?

hi mo

Gosh, good point, Wolvie... I was "gifted" this site from my whirling dervish daughter who didn't have enough time to do it, and really tells me that maybe she shouldn't have done it. It's a family humor situation now.
Hi, mo
Evening Mo
can anyone help me with the ep words? I am stuck...
Scarlet hi.
WTG MM
ep 5 /14 - ep plus first three letters of a large pony
ep 6/24 - plural the 5
thank you wolvie! You are a doll!
Sorry about that Wolvie. I just came back from Angelsong's site and caught up.
well thanks green

hi charm!
Hey, ardilla!
Hello Charm
Hi Charm... are you freezing, too. My daughter is in the Everglades and says she is soooo cold.
hi ren
How do I set my avatar/icon?
Hello Wolvie
Good question, I've wanted to know for two months, Wolfrick.
Hen Ren8, Scarlet. It's cold but not freezing - in the 40s in the morning and 50s about now. I like where I am on weeks like this!
Nevermind, I found it.
go to the my account section wolf - look for the link in the upper right hand corner
Click "My Account" and then click "Edit" under the blank icon.
Where, Wolfrick? I'd like to be normal...
never happen scarlet. ;-)
IT's hard to see on my screen, red text on blue background.
Hahahahahahahahahhaha
black on white here. ;-)
generon should be a word
hey there Gwen!
Have any of youall Floridians heard of a place called Lucky Wallace?
hiya wolvie
Hi Gwen and Torgone
why so excited to see me? 8-)
hiya ren
Hi guys ..
Hey, Tor
hi tor
We had a customer who kept saying her location was "Lucky Wallace" and we couldn't find it on Google or the maps . . . .Turns out it's "Lake Wales" . ..
oh lol
tor, must have been someone who moved here, perhaps from Germany or Russia?
Cuba, I think ..
last op 6 help?
(not familiar with Cuban accent much)
jamie - op 6 - think of the met (a performance) remove the last vowel, then add not off but **
plural for 7
thanks1
I recall a guy from Russia, at work, who told a bunch of us he had dah-MAZH on his car. When I hear words I see them spelled so I knew he meant damage but I was the only one who could figure out what he was saying
wolvie, do you have the op 6 after those 2?
When I was young & stupid I went to get my tires rotated - when the guy said "Want them tars bounced?" I had no clue what he meant!
Kentucky? LOL
Okay, I shouldn't look like Lamont Cranston anymore.
No, Missouri!
LOL wolfr
yes jamie - a newbie is known as a neo**** - sounds like fight.
last OP = op + *** the ball over the fence + vowel
yay! thanks
well - no wolf, not lamont. ;-0
cool jamie
do I get half a point for Kentucky?
a half pint maybe gwen
. . . of KY bourbon? *pass*
lol
no** to self, even if it doesn't seem possible, remember, this is babble, so type it in anyway. ;-)
Yeah, you couldn't half pound that drink down.
Charm, thank you for that last op word... it made me a little crazy
drinking and me do not mix. makes me way sick -- based on trying it once
yw, Scarlet
i need help with the two go 6/7 combos
go6 - burrowing animal.
go6/27 = gor + female fowl.
ahhh!
and then a blood and guts chicken jamie
thanks!
go6 sounds like a female chicken rasied by that Inconvenient Truth guy
sorry for that extra consonant. monkeys got away from me....
Hi all, back for another attempt
hi Mom
oh, wolvie's clue was much better, ignore mine LOL
Hi Wolvie
pitter is not a word?
i vote for desnot
Apparently.
last 3 at words?
de-snot would require a hyphen :)
or just one of them?
de-snot would require a hyphen :) And tissues.
or... something like that wolf
but not resnot! LOL
de-snot would require a hyphen :) And tissues. And hand-sanitizer.
redesnot?
pitter is only part of a phrase, so doesn't "count" in some word games which are too picky, like this one
hey - you got a word in there, wyrd. ;-)
2 even
resnot for whom the bell snots, it snots for thee!
achoo!
"Desnot" V. Transitive. A task performed by Chuck-E-Cheese employees after closing.
(actually two Wolvie)
eeewww
yes - I caught that with my even wyrd. :-)
glad I don't do chucky-e-cheese!
wolfrick, lolmfas!!
ate at a chucky-e-cheese once -- very gross -- developed an infection
179 left!
last 3 at words?
TMI, gwen, TMI. ;-0
how many words in this grid?
think of lawyers jamie, just leave some off - like after the n
then past te***, then plural
yay!
thanks, wolvie
yw
Hi everybody
hi MP
hi m.p.!
hi wolvie, ardilla
Hello, M.P.
hi scarlet
Hi M.P.
hi mom
This grid has been an exercise in total insanity, and Wolvie tells me I can't be normal... LOL
Evening MP and Mom
hi ren8
should be just your thing then scarlet!! ;-)
Hi everyone! firewords, and thanks for all the great clues
Good evening Ren8
Maybe you are crazy, scarlet. Although unlikely, seeing as you actually play Babble. If you were that insane, you wouldn't play.
congrats lbdawger!
hi lbdawger
WTG, dawg!!
well done Ibdawger
WTG, Ibdawger!
congrats, dawg!
WTG lbd
Congrats Ildawger
there were a few times there that i didn't think i'd finish. like when the flipping phone kept ringing! i hate wrong numbers!
ewww, and reading about chuck e cheese...gross!
Don't we all? But it's worse when you dial them - how embarrassing.
Better than trolls, though, dawgie
Of course, it isn't as bad for me - I'm usually looking in the school phonebook. It's when someone tells me a number.
I have a newbie question... I need to make sure I understand this correctly... In the tile stats box, my first letter says "N 3/5" That means I have three of the five words that start with THAT letter at THAT tile, right?
but i bet you say something like "oh, i'm sorry i dialed the wrong number" and not "who the **(& is this?"
Yeah
yes wolfrick, that's exactly what that means
Right, Wolfr
Yeah
Correct Wolfrick
Horry clap! I don't know how I'm going to get two more N words from that tile. But don't tell me yet :)
feed your monkeys and let them rip Wolfrick!
done. clues before I go?
I can see you are going to be a fun addition wolf - such phrasing. ;-0
We don't ruin anyone's fun... it's the hunt that is the crux of the game...
whooo hooo Charm!
the ones you are missing are either "fake" words (obscure) or they are so obvious you will be dazed by disbelief when you find them
congrat charm - I'm closing in myself!
Congratulations, Charm.
kudos, charm!!!
congrat - luck wolvie
congrats charm!
ty ty. 'Twas a good grid today....
Tis, yet.
I'm normally pretty good with obscure words. Pretty good compared to people who don't play Babble, apparently.
Really? You think so?
fireworks for me
Fireworks?
yay, sha!!
High five, sha!
yay, Sha!
whoo hooo sha!
there's a fireworks animated graphic at the end :-)
Aha. I C
Wolf, I'm not that old. Still have problems with the obscure words. About two months, I'd say.
you'll see them when you finish the grid Wolfr
congrats, sha!
The tile stats area turns into some fireworks when you have completed every bloody word inthe grid.
bye everyone. Happy babbling and see y'all tomorrow.
Seeing them is one of the things on my "possible but not very likely" list. Also on my "wanted" list.
Congrats Sha
thx all
WTG sha!
bye Charm
bye all happy babbling
bye bye Charm
The one thing that you have to remember, Wolfr, is that sometimes the puzzle does consider things to be "abbreviations" and other things, the ones that seem like "abbreviations" are words!
bye Sha
bye sha
fireworks for me!
bye sha
bye, ta-ta, so long, adios amiga, etc.
congrats, Una!
and then there are the mysterious and never ending babblets!
congrats
whoo hoo Unea!
Til another grid, sha.
sorry...congrats Une!
Good going, Une... will I ever say that????
better go and take the roast out of the oven and get going on the potatoes. Bye for now

oh lol - only mom
Bye, dawg, ardilla.
hello
can you tell I was away for a bit? lol
tioe
hello
am I leaving?
Hi, cub. How are you.
LOL - my mistake
hi cub
I wasn't saying goodbye to all of you - just saying goodbye to Mom. If I was saying goodbye to the group, I would say "adios amigos" because it's always masculin and plural when you're talking to a mixed group in Espanol.
fine
hi cub
Yeah, LOL
lol, just wondering if you knew something i didn't Wolvie! lol
LOL, it's Wolvie's fault. I was in the grid and looked at the goodbyes... and the rest, is, h i s t o r y.
im6
Excuse me, cub?
altho another phone call. the phone hardly ever rings and today it's like i'm the switchboard or something! sheesh
Quit with the excuses, but I'll excuse it - H I S T O R Y!!!
yes - it's all my fault. ;-0
This is H E R S T O R Y. Head hanging appropriately low and sorrowfully
No, didn't say that - I said that Scarlet should quit with the excuses. And you saw my long explenation - yeah, I study Spanish in school.
goodbye
LOL. Back to my personal suffering... still 27 to go.
bye cub
bye cub
bye cub

Well now real good-bye, adios AMIGOS, ta-ta, so long, farewell, adwedersain, good-bye (again), tidouble"gu"er says ta-ta for now.
bye MP
'Bye, M.P., and so long, cub. Nice, Pallas. Get them early and they're in it for life!

no between the lowly worker and the lowly workerS.....that is monkey typing but it just won't take : (
oh............duh?
go 5/15 - just like a co word - oh - of co*** I know what you mean
i mean i add an "E" to the end of the worker but no takee
TY. Fish!
it will take that if you also add an s to it TO
po 6/21 - lowly workers, third vowel, then plural
the pe after the normal plural of the lowly worker sounds like what women carry
ok i have that it's another 5/12 i am missing ty

bronchitis is much better, but i've got RA and i think i may be heading into a flair. and yes, you guys and the grid are a huge help. my immunity is so compromised, i catch everything and sometimes it sends me into a flair.
how many po 6's?
sorry, other one
the only one i have stid (8's i mean), a geometrical shape
I kept trying that 7 prefix alone... *sigh*
nm -- done
thanks Dorens, too. down to 32
2 po 6's
done, done, nan?
no, stid -- done p's
I have RA too, ADHD, and I know what you mean.
i'm kinda glad it's a big grid. Stid... r u okay? i just scanned back in chat and somebody asked how u r feeling. everything alright?
go stid
how old r u scarlet, if i may ask
okay :-) *waiting to celebrate*
brb
Sure, AD, I am 61, and have had since childhood.
I have the second kid-carried virus in 5 days, ADHD, it's annoying and frustrating, but I will recover. :-)
Madi ho 5/12 plural of ho4/5
last go5/14 anyone?
got interrupted this morning stid, had to stop and design a web page for the hospital auxiliary (they needed it yesterday), so am somewhat behind.
thx, reb
cybernan - how long have you been designing websites?
go 5,14= g + a h**** with no name
thanks bubba
wow nan -- tough to do work like that so fast. Hope it worked right the first time! -- I always end up tweaking the pages a couple times after I load them.
Nice work, nan.
since I needed one for my pottery business back in 1996
down to 30 (I just got the to RE words)
I'm still a complete Luddite. LOL. I really have to feel my way through the instructions for putting up an icon... what with words such as URL, etc.
that's cool, do you have a degree in it or just self-taught type stuff?
wasn't too bad -- just a single page with one table, two graphics, one of which I already had, but a fair amount of typing.
scarlet... if i could do it, you could do it (put up an icon) believe me
self-taught -- we've had a pc for 26 years now -- you had to program the first one in basic to get it to do anything.
Bye for now
bye bubba -- thanks for the help
bye, bubba
later, bubba!
Thanks, Dorens. I will try hard tonight to get it done. I told Wolvie today that I want to be "normal"... she basically told me "never"... good laugh.
Bye, Bubba. Thank you for all the clues.
first he6/21?
scarlet, i don't know how many of us would even consider ourselves normal... don't know if I'd want to be
Right you are, Dorens. BTW, that is not a word I'd combine with Babbling anyway...
oh my scarlet, you poor thing. i will be 57 next month. i became symptomatic after the flu 2 years ago. before that, i was still climbing trees w/my grandkids, riding quads and horses, doing woodworking and never sitting still... the ADHD "klid" now i'm in a neck brace, back brace, ankle braces and wrist braces. I broke my back and neck over 20 yrs ago and the RA has disintegrated the fusions and my spine has collapsed. I had a really bad case of Lyme disease and there may be a link w/that. who knows?
i went to a halloween part once as Dr. Abby Normal
don't take offense to this... you guys are making me feel really young
Hello all. Can anyone clue me on the ti6,21 or the two ti7's after it?
how old r u? if i may ask arwennn?
Oh, my Lord, ADHD. You are in much more severe condition than I am... but one's attitude is everything in this world... Bless you.

arwenn, you probably are
just turned 22

plaquenil is not for pain.

Okay, I need to ask for a little help... I have H 25/25, but the second H, H 0/2.... So that means the two HE6/21 words I have left have to use the second H to start, right? But does that mean they can't use the first E, too?

1st se5/12 is what I meant

wolf - both start with opp of there - one ends opp of off, the other ends opp of from
why an auctioneer wolf?

Because it's _almost_ in the puzzle.
oh I get lol funny
Thanks, Rainy. I wasn't really fishing for clues, but for verification of my understanding of the rules.
And it looks like I was right in my thinking. H 25/25, H2/2
ah - if used first e would have been counted on first h, i think
finally! fireworks... got about 2mins for clues if you want
left to right, top to bottom...
w00t hillary
so I am guessing the he's are hes's then right?
yay hillary
Sure.
that's about the only letter the other H couldn't use right?
Nope, Grammaterri1
no gram - use second e, then double back on yourself...
or read down for more detailed clue...
if you're wondering about the right-hand h's gramma, they are both prepositions using the adverb that means not there...
it really doesn't matter to me ( : I just love to find words lol

anyone watching Idol tonite?
how do you know if it's a re or not
shoot i forgot is it on now?
Hi everyone. Snottage is diverting my attention from more serious problems. I did get a somewhat good report from the scan I had last week. Dealing with a lot of pain from pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder.
gram: what lever are they? still auditions?
prit near temple
yes prism
san fran tonite I think
re 6/21: re + opp of close, then plural it
Doctor wrote me a prescription for Oxycontin, but I am very leery about taking that drug.
nope San antonio
I love the auditions. I quit watching when they hit LA
i need to find the guy from Bethlehem PA - are they still auditioning?
almighty, they generally check either lickety's list or Babbler's Anonymous, which will provide the first 2 letters and total pointage
Bless you inge! Thank ye muchly
Totally unfair that pitter isn't accepted. I have a cherry pitter that I use every time I cook something with cherries.... harumph....
I love the auditions too
munner sorry to hear
right on erda
that's a drag, munner
Hope things improve for you munner.
Has anyone had a good experience with Oxycontin?
ok peeps - sick and headache is wearing me down - of course, i HAVE to finish no matter what LOL
gramma, i'm watching in between doing other games
erda , i am a pitter when my granchildren eat cherries, lol
Oxycontin is highly addictive.
no munner oxys are bad
don't know anyone who used it either, munner
Avoid it like the plague, IMO.
Andree -- there's a good little gizmo for that purpose... may be hard to find.
I would ask the doc to prescribe something else
Lori, that's my BIG concern. I think I will just stick with the Oxycodone (Percocet) and tough it out.
Hello everybody. Munner it's good to have you back in the action. I've taken oxy and it's worked like nothing else. Good drug when you need it.
munner, it's for pinched nerve?
see a chiropracter munner
I used to have Tylenol expire before I used a bottle!
I can't tolerate percocets. They make me hallucinate.
Munner... Hubby was perscribed it after having a stroke. Our good luck was selling it to help pay medical bills.
Yeah, pinched nerve from swolled lymph nodes.
Only my 2 cents. Personally, no way, ever. Have a friend for whom it was a gateway to he!!
me too gramma, and sick to my stomach
me too Lori
most of the rehabs are full of oxy patients around here
I've heard that from a lot of people--the hallucinations and such, but I have been fine using it. It's just not whipping the pain like it used to. But I don't want to get on the road to Hell.
I am not a medical professional, just my experience.
Oxycontin is only bad when abused. If you have pain, go for it. It works well.
When you owe more in hospital bills than what you owe on the house & you have insurance, you do what you can to survive
I knew that there would be many of you who would have some thoughtful advice for me.
i don't have any knowledge to share, munner, but i do hope you feel better soon
still chronic pain is hellof its own
I honestly believe 3/4ths of these words are made up!! Aaarrrggghhhh!
yes, munner, get better soon
me too smd
