Stephen Hawking is a famous physicist suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease, John McCain is a US Senator wanting to be President, and Cindy Sheehan is a tiresome antiwar protestor
who protests the war due to her son being killed in a war based on a lie.
don't you mean "tireless"?!
yes, i'm sure he meant 'tireless'
hi harpjane -- was thinking of you yesterday with all those harps in the grid!

Trivia: Who was the egg man & why was he called that?
koo koo ka choo
they probably aren't doug, but they sure look like they could be.
want some hints?
douglas is probably googling it right now.
lol
Eric Burdon was the egg man. "Why?" you ask.
i was just going to ask.
Because just before umm.. climaxing during sex he would break eggs on the woman's head.
because he broke eggs over his women
yes, why?
nooooooooooooooooo
that's bizarre
yes
ah, cute...
Yes, but we all know he was an Animal...
<----- used to be in rock radio & had the chance to ask him directly if it was true
and was it?
And he was also in War.
sex and an egg shampoo at the same time
Yes. it was true
Sounds like an anti-fertility ritual to me...
sounds like an anti-2nd date ritual to me
or a good way to break the mood
Well, that was something I didn't know...I'm not sure I wanted to know that...
sounds like a waste of eggs to me
sounds like a lot of washing to me

Hi Fran. How are you today?
Hi rolin
good frances, how are you? haven't seen you around.
Been luking and not chatting but as family have gone to Sweden and I'm left with the dog I have more time to Babble.
Lurking even
how did you get left behind?
Daughter-in-law is Swedish so they go twice a year to see parents. The only time they get to see four year old granddaughter. I see her all the time so only fair that I look after their dog.
i see, i guess that is fair. :-)
Chance to polish up the halo
lol
Just watching the news and they are showing the most adorable white tiger cubs. The were born in a zoo in Argentina.
yes frances they are gorgeous...bbc 1?
Yes rolin. They are so cute
And the white fur with the bright blue eyes.......stunning.

I'm with you there rolin. I have only thee 8s
showoff..lol..i just found my first

hi all :) ...our snow's all gone now... 24 hour wonder...
We thought it was bad with four inches
we havent seen any snow here in somerset:(
that's odd jean... I thought Bath was one of the areas badly affected...
lynxxx...as an ex-aussie...it is beautiful...i sat watching really big flakes...it was as fascinating as watching fire..
I stand corrected your right sherb I am down in Wells and it didnt get down here lol
I forgot about the other parts of somerset sherb rofl
you must be in the Somerset sun belt :) ...it was beautiful while it lasted though...
Can someone tell me which eight I'm missing. I have di8/45 io8/45 ou8/75 tr8.70 and tw8/80
Rolin..I just can't see myself living for an extended time in snow - although I am sure it is lovely and I otherwise love the cold. Its all that wetness!!
we appear to be, the mendips usually get the snow and we get the leftovers lol
out8/65
Not as wet as rain lynn
There is 2 ou8s Frances -
Thank you rolin and lynn
cant find the di8 or io8....hummff
I cannot find that 2nd one for the life of me. I have the movement. Could someone give me a wee hint for the other one?
which one sprite?
ou8
Ho-b****-ray - I finally got one of those ou8s
do you have the two ou sevens
one of the ou eights is the ou seven with a consonant added on the end
Nope, my ou8 does not build on a 7. *starts hunting for 7s*
Good Morning all, it is 3:45 am here and I could not sleep. Found the tw8 so far.
good morning periwinkle
:)
morning peri
ok..ok...why cant i have out + do5/16?
ou* (opposite of "in") + the mouse gn**ed through the cord + a consonant
Hello Peri

sprite do you have the gn 5/22?
Ok, I forgive myself for not seeing that other ou8. So that is a word, hm...
morning peri :)
thanks for the help, all :)
yw
Finally got the other ou8.......the easier one doh
both were tough I thought
lol sprite..that would do it..
one is tough for being a compound, but once found, is a pretty normal word. The other.... don't start me on the other :)
:D rolin
sure seems like a cartoon word to me
hi all (sneaking back in)
hey jilli
hello jillibus:)
that ou8/75 is a great word...
Hi jilli
thanks for the ou8s!
morning jilli :)
does it surprise anyone that the ou8/75 doesnt have a definition in dictionary.com?
hi jil!
Oh joy - the pair of sulpher-crested cockatoos are back - their constant ear-piercing screeching to one another would drive anyone mad.
nope!
I still hate re words
totally not surprised, rolin :) I am happy with finding ig6/27. At least that has a def.
lol..volley...consistancy is good
lol
sulpher-crested cockatoos has to be from hell, right?
*have
ig6/27....ok...
ou8/75 sounds like being beaten in a bone-chewing contest...
good one Sprite - hadn't thought of that
going to go off line for a while as am work better do some lol:)
noooo......major mitchells are wonderful..why do you say that sprite?
lol jean
later Jean
rolin ... if it looks like a bird from hell... sounds like a bird from hell.... :)
are the cockatoos a clue?
I don't think so, they are pestering lynxxx
well imagine this...we were in a little creperie recently..and there was a brazilian version who could get out of her cage...and sat screaching on the chair next to us...then she took an interest in my partners shoe and new leather jacket..he was NOT impressed..lol
Rolin ...'cause of the sulpher bit being associated with hell. I thought they were great too - until they moved down to the city and my neigbourhood
ah... I missed that bit...
lynxxx.. we had one next door who used to mimic the dog barking...you couldnt tell the difference..lol
I trust we all found the N6/27 sweet.
yup
I love that stuff
I did now, sprite -- thanks!
yw, jilli :)
oooh the ig6 is part of a film name
may I have a clue for the di8 please
I have at least one word for each tile except the top e -- can anyone help with that? Then I can go to bed :)
back in a bit w. coffee. and Lickety - I'm halfway and not getting this grid at all - need help
so many Scot words are ok, but I dinna ken why dinna isn't
e4 - a culture... or a duck with the last letter removed...
jilli, I don't want you to leave, but I do want to help, lol. I have a combo, meaning formal content of a culture, singular (E5/12) and plural (E4/5). Makes me think of goose feathers.
ah, thanks, sherb! Now I lay me down to sleep...and thanks too, sprite!

hey Angb :)
tx guys
hi sprite. Popped in to see what I could do in an hour - absolutely exhausted after a grotty week!
ooph, I know the feeling. We celebrate my daughter's birthday today and I am SO beat.
Hard to get the extra energy?
been in and out panic attacks all week, so no energy left at all. Still, I want her to have a great day. Motherhood is a funny thing ;)
FIREWORKS
Oh no sprite - picked up something about your probs earlier in the week thru the chat. So sorry - my best friend suffers as well - know how difficult it can be.
congrats!
Yay cyborg
yay Cyborg!
thanks Angb :) Any chance for you to get some time for yourself today?
hi everyone
hey Andree
LOL - I have just deleted my whinge. No - partner is off on a working bee tomorrow. I'll get thru next week and see what happens
back for a while, hello Andree:)
Hi Andree
have seen your posts about the panic attacks sprite, I suffered from them all throught 2002 until june 2003, horrible
Hi jean
Just an academic question - but are panic attacks more prevalent in women? Does any one know?
would not want you to copy my cure though
Good morning all, need a clue for the 2nd wa6/36 please?
have no idea angb
will get there eventually, Andree and Angb, I keep telling myself it needs time :) And perseverance of course. More in women? I am not sure, women are culturally more allowed to show feelings (still), so it might be a bit of a taboo for men?
That's what I thought sprite. That's right you were going to have that treatment - how did it go?
sorry marc - I haven't even got the first wa
My husband once had a stress related panic attack - thought he was having a heart attack - was totally horrified - would rather have had heart attack i think - so yes men seem to hide these things
on a completely other note: just get an email from the shop where my husband ordered his new hat. They also sell Bushskin coats. Did I miss something in the news?
I had no treatment, I hardly told anyone, I left my husband after 38 years marriage and they have never recurred
Sprite you need to get lpts of rest. Hey is to stay rested, do yoga, vigorous excercise and start TM. All that will minimize the attacks.
Andree, that is so tough. Sorry to hear you had to cope alone, but wtg that you found a way out.
Hmmm Andree - rather a radical treatment - but makes sense
Wow Andree that sounds like a brave thing to do
thanks Marc
when I did go for help it was related to ex
wa6.
so not so brave , I just needed a push
wa6/36?
So you could say that you binned him Andree
lol frances
definitely brave, Andree. Marc, I have a Wa6 that is betting, or what a dog does with its tail minus one middle letter
wa6/36 plur of wa5/22= wa**** wheel
morning all! Marc - wa6/36 earlier form of settler transport
had I not had the attacks I may never have made the best move of my life, everything happens for a reason

wa6/36 - lumberjacks supply chest
nice clue, thanks
Yeh, lucky monkeying!
Thanx Chris - that will come in handy in day to day life
tx
*Angb*!
That has started me singing the Lumberjack song from Monty Python "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK"....
good place to keep our etuis. Not our i4 though
for a 7, insert a vowel in that lumberjack's one.
LOL sprite - that word is even worse!
isn't it! :)
mistyping can be so rewarding sometimes! Yay for the monkey.
yes sprite but sometimes i get irritated and am monkeying really fast and see a flash of green and dont know which word it was!!
Yippee found a tr 8 - I am sure you all have it but I get excited all the same
true :)
Yay Angb! And not an obvious one to spot either, gives a kick, doesn't it :)
Another 1/2 glass of wine as reward methinks.
you deserve a whole one
LOL sprite you'll be my downfall. Already had the full glass
:)
Finally got both wa's but don't know the words thanks
Nor do we Marc!
I seem to remember them from an earlier grid, but they are really strange words!
thx for those w's would never have found them
have no y words, help please
yo 4/8 is the only one I have - a person who can teach you TM
Think of a stretching exercise
One who practices the stretching excercises
y6 - a cultured food/drink
meditational kind of movement, + person(s) doing it. And the word in between, persons minus last letter. Something made from milk.
thnx lynxxx
yo6/30 is a woman who practices yo4/8
ah, I thought it was plural, sry. Drop last letter for a 5.
thx angb, lynxxx, frances, ctas and sprite
thnx sprite and frances
You're welcome Andree
You too Ang

Thanks lynxxx -- never would have found it.
whups, wrong window. ^^;
We'll have to wait and see the next game on Sunday. Could be interesting.
They still made us sweat - down to the last couple of balls. Wasnt Collingwood good??
Amazing - should be knighted
Don't Ang. Tont will have in Dowing Street next!
I was going to say I wouldnt go that far but when you see who is on the Honours lists lately perhaps you are right!!
Even Tony
anyone like er5.16 ?
Here pretty boy Wilkinson is also creating a stir in the 6 Nations rugby as well.
What a comeback Ang
Hmmm - not sure that I am that happy being a one-eyed Kiwi. But must admit wondered why he hadn't been in the team till now
One injury after another
lynxxx what is this about the er 5/16?
I see Frances - sad really cause he was the lynchpin of the last world cup
its just an odd one I found - wondered if anyone wanted it
Yes please - can't imagine what it is
Yes please, lynxxxx. Morning, all.
Very sad but, he's back with a bang. Scored 27 points out of 42. Not bad for a crock.
Anyway Frances your cricket team isn't as wet as ours!
er5.16 e + another word for floor mat + vowel. Can be pluralled for 6.27

Hi Eva. Bye Hydra
Bye, jean. Have a nice Saturday.
hi lynxx
herro
Goodnight everyone - 40 left for the morning
ok this is just stupid, second time this has happened, is it me
hi herin
completely baffled by this grid!
oh i thought it was me
I found I suddenly got into it and now I'm steaming away with 95 words.
I have fits and starts Eva - get a few and then get stuck
I have got to 131 words and think that's enough.
I have 114 but they've been hard fought and some letters seem utterly useless
stuck at 34
Eyes are sore from sitting in bed this morning and finishing a very sad novel LOL. Good stuff.
What was it, Angb?
The book was called The Saving Graces. Can't remember author. About 4 middle-aged women who are good friends who have a shit year basically. Great stuff
oh ok
come on herin this sand groper has 29 left . You wouldnt be a Collingwood supporter would you hehe
I've read it! It was really good. A friend gave me three books by the same author, inn a gift pack for Xmas
god no, i hateafl
opps that was god no i hate afl
thats okay then trying to get you motivated
may have to check that book out after i finish school work
Amazing book - really sad - but uplifting too. Do you recommend the others hydra?
Dont' think any other book has made me cry so much
I thought The Saving Graces was the best. but they were all worth reading.
I remember sobbing bucketfuls over Little Women when I was about 13.
pattrica gaffeny
angb love your piggy ex nzer ex auckland/thames here
Hi lore - are you a defecter then?
Been a while since I read Little Women.
About 40 yrs in my case!
the author is Patricia Gaffney
not really home is where the heart is hey
Wuthering Heights got me ... should read it again
That's right, infernal. Have you read any of hers? I'm reading Felix Dennis's biog, How to get Rich at the mo, and hoping some of it rubs off
Angb, is the bood you're talking about a new release? I'm always looking for new authors, and our library has a good selection. I'm going to check it out.
How long have you been in Aus Lore? Love Thames can't imagine leaving there
book*
No pida - published in 2000.
I havent read it hydra but when i see a good review i book mark it on the net, currently reading Ann Rice, The Vampire Lestate, really good
Has anybody read "Wicked"?
went to melbourne 1982 perth wa 1988
naud
I ADORE the Ann Rice books. I must have resd them all.
i'm reading In Cold Blood after seeing Capote. such good writing! i'm riveted!
I'm just reading Wicked at the minute Eva!
I'm around half way through
I bleeping hate how Ann Rice has become a bibble bashing christian it upsets me greatly
how is it? Someone recommended it to me
Now I am going to have to own up here. I don't choose books to read. I go to the libray and have a system that randomly selects books. Yep I am slightly mad
I was an extra in the Queen of the Damned Movie
yeah what's that all about, HIL?
wow - do you always like what you get angb? never heard of that
um lets see' my husband died/lleft me, my life sucks, my son is gay blah blah blah
I am enjoying it so far, the author seems a bit obsessed by sex though which kind of gets in the way of the story!
I was hoping for a Harry Potter substitute.
I have never not finished a book. Have come across all sorts. Not all as good as each other though.
haha not quite Harry Potter! :)
I'd also like a substitut for this grid!
I have become particularly fond of Indian authors
Try the Artemis Fowl series if you haven't read those and Philip Pulman's His Dark Materials trilogy is amazing
well, they have it on hold for me at the library, so I'll pick it up today and see
actually, i luv perusing discount book bins - i've found the most interesting books for 2.99
I have a vast collection of ANn Rice in Hardback its my dream to own them all
I also liked reading Kelly Armstrong
how many are there total, HIL?
we have a neat store here which sells used books, and when you finish, you turn them in, for slightly less than you paid, and get new ones.
thats awesome eva. where are you in US?
Yes, we have a similar store here!
vermont
i would LUV that. great idea
That's a great way of getting books sparklygem
I also use the website www.readitswapit.co.uk - think it's UK only though but it's a wonderful idea!
Well I am off to bed. A bit of a read first though. Sylvia and Ted by Emma Tennant. Have no idea what it will be like.
I've had some great books from there
Saint i dont know im not sure, but im pissed about, the vampire lestae the musical
Ted Hughes was from the town I live in :)
Has anyone come across the system where people buy books, and then leave them lying around for others to pick up read and pass on
bookcrossing? I have, but never used it
Well I should know something about him in a couple of days then sparklygem
yes-we do that at our little community store here. Also, we've been doing a free video exchange. People bring them in when they're tired of them and yu can take them for free as long as you return them.
I love the idea of books circulating like that. It was on the news here once.
there is 10 vampire cronical books
Me to Angb, it's a fab idea
*too
Anyway good night everyone. Thanks for your company.
i've just recently learned about freecycle.org how fab that ideas like this are catching on so much
craigslist too is great - i just got rid of 30 BAGS of magazines i was holding onto for no good reason
Night, Angb, and thanx for the title of another good book to read.
night ang
night Angb, I'm off too for some breakfast
nite angb see you next time
i have heard of book crossing
i am off for dinner cya all good luck
www.bookcrossing.com
bye lore
everyone's leaving. was it something i said? ;)
nope im here, but the book crossing site is below
thanks
oh a book has just crossed near me i wonder what it is
thanks guys
good morning everybody!
where on the page do you see that HIL?
hi charm
Hey, SaintF
www.bookcrossing
.com
http://www.bookcrossing.com/hunt/
there you go
thanks
its a great idea especially if you are not a filthy book whore like me
i love my books to much to realise them, it would be like giving up children
Saint what do you like reading
lol - I love the way you describe yourself!
I looked at bookcrossing, herin. But like you, I cannot bear to give them up. So, I'll just continue hoarding books and taking up valuable storage space in my home.
that really makes me laugh!
morning all - gald to see you are talking books - i work in a book shop
yep dirty book whore i am, i have sold excess books but i dont any more as i dont buy what im not going to keep
Goosey we are talking about bookcrossing.com
i like to hang on to my books too charm
My dream when I no longer have responsibilities, Goosey - work in a book shop to pay for my fix.
I'm just the opposite - I'm always looking for more space on my bookshelves and hoping that the books I lend out don't come back!
I've not lived at home in 20 years, but my parents' basement has boxes of books I'm not willing to give up!
trouble is everybody expects you to know all the books - don't have time to read - too busy babbling lol
There is a book exchange at my church and I've left about 50 books there and was happy to have found a good place to put them.
I just bought a book case which hubby has promised to put up this weekend.....
hope he's not like my hubby then
I'm like you kitty... once all my bookshelves were full, I decided that for every book that enetered the house one had to leave...
lol, Goosey. He will do a good job. It's getting him started which is difficult!
lol
i have lent a book to someone and th SOB hasnt returned
i have found the y's if anyone wants clues
my books are better travelled than me
I lent someone a fave bio of Leonardo da Vinci, and one Ighiguro. That was five years ago.
some on their way to Jamaica on Tuesday - others just back from French Alps
I am annoyed that my books, patterns and dvd hasnt returned
can I get on the last u?
oh, let's not get started on cd's!
sorry, Ish - babbling, not babbling.
Oh charm books are AMerican Gods and Snow glass and apples by neil gaiman, very pissed off about it
i don't kno, wut you mean
i am babbling sort of but my brain has imploded
I started a different kind of book exchange. I got tired of getting the same books back, after I passed them on, so I put a book plate in the inside cover, and when you get finished, you simply put your name or initials, and town, on the list, and friends know not to pass it back to you. It's also interesting to see how far the book has traveled......
thats similar to book crossing pida
un 4/6 -- u + spanish 2 us 4/6 -- pre-owned
thanks, Babble
grrrr i am tired and the other half is being a turd

beleieveit has, different sound again
Help with au's?
my favorite female voice by far
oh, it is out!
Scrabbler - you might not like the 'sound' of the au's!
au***/video
and titled not too late of all things
Oh, I just found those 2, Jac
Scrabbler -- the voice part of TV

Eva, big norah fan? she is great for late night babbling. :)
YES!
*slinks off to penalty box*
well. isn't this the vowelly grid.
we talking about norah jones? i love her.
nm - found it
ARB - to wear away
Good morning, hursh.
Good morning all, started in the middle of the night and dreamed that it would be done by the time a I woke up but no such luck.
oops - that's the 5/12 - sorry
LOL Marc
hi marc
morning, afternoon, hello all around
Afternoon Hursh
hi hurshy.
off to preview some of the songs now
Hi all, I am so happy it's Saturday.
Hi Marc. Dream Babbling now? You must be hooked!
hi hursh
hi sunny
hi marc.
Regina Spektor is one of my favourite female voices, also Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley is great
Hi, hursh.
You have no idea. My wife thinks I am having an affair.
scrabbler - did you get all the au's?
hi sunny
hi wolvie
don't worry marc, the dream babbling is a stage that passes. it's in the infatuation/madly in love stage. once you get really comfortable in the relationship, it will fade.
Oh dear, Marc! I suppose you are, in a way?
No, Wolvie, I need the first au6
Couldn't be with nicer people, Marc
LOL hursh--so true
oh marc!
How do all of you attack the grid. I start at the back of the alphabet and work my way down to 'A' that way I never have to look back on the list.
i just find any ol' words
scrabbler it is the same first 3 letters, then the favorite end*** for today
good morning everybody--how is it going?
fireworks at last!
WTG Sparkly
hi nonnie
I just attack the grid randomly until I've got about three quarters of the words down on paper. One word leads to another and all that...
way to go sparklygem
Well done, sparkly.
I agree ARB, sometimes she sits with me and reads the log and thinks we are all nuts.
It is so hard to explain Babble Land and Babble Friends to my other friends. "Well, I have these people that I chat with on-line, in this word game...." and I see a look of confusion as they wonder what I do with my free time
marc - I am all over the place. ;-)
YAY Sparkly
hello wolvie!
lol, me too scarbbler
we are all nuts! especially nut!
Hi, Nonnie.
TY Wolvie, and congrats sparklygem!
I'm more soup than nuts.
hey nonnie nonnie
I am very happy to be nuts. Much rather be nuts than normal.
I second that, MArc
hiya hurshy and jac!
amen marc
any clues before I go?
lol vic - hello
you're not nuts marc, i'm nuts
mmmm there' scandy in this grid
Hello, all you nuts.
Scrabbler -- you're so right. It's hard to explain (and justify) the passion and the addiction
nut, nut, nut, nut, goose!
TY TO
Vicuna, ever seen a the animal. I was in Peru a couple of years ago and saw them. The material is the finest in the world.
maybe i should make a new name, goose nut
yw scrabbler
did you like him in top gun?
Don't gn4/10 on too much no6/27 or you may end up with an6/24!
ARB how are things in Israel? Seems to be a little calmer these days.
Yup. I've never seen them in their native habitat, unfortunately, but they're really gorgeous. I have an alpaca sweater, which is close.
was kinda hard to with tom cruise next to him...
sparkly - I need 2 e's from the far left column - I have a surround one, and time
Or to explain that I have friends named: Jacula, Wolvie, Temple Owl, and that I know REAL pirates....and I don't know their true names....hahaha
good one jac
LOL - even my license plate now says wolvie.
Scrabbler - LOL!
ewwwwww tom cruise, gross
yeah and one of my students has HORRIFIED that i met people from here in real life on my trip to europe
nut - I'm with you on that one. Creepy Cruise . *shivers*
I agree, nut--gross!
They have to keep the Vicuna's separate from the other animals because they pick fights. Alpaca spit at you when they get close. I went to a factory to see them make the material and it was fascinating. Vicuan is finer than cashmere.
Cruise is not my type.
indeed jac, wish our "role models" were better at their jobs.
well, ok, he's weird. but you gotta admit, he ain't bad to just look at.
Marc - just got home yesterday from a 10 day visit to the States, so I'm not sure. But, it does seem quieter and the news is more local scandal than violence.
hurshy - I agree
hello all! where in the states diod you visit arb?
OK--I'll give you that, hursh but there is something not quite right there.
That sounds very intersting, Marc. I am really more familiar with llamas than the other camellids, but the name "llama" was already taken on Babble!
wolvie - en6/21 - to make certain
Hi, smooth.
hi smooth
um, well no hurshy, i either need more perfection OR complete imprefection.
Hey pappa
ty sparkly
hmm, fair enough nut
I also not much of a Cruise guy more of a Brad Pitt guy thought I was dissapointed when he left Jennifer.
oh, ARB--how was the visit with your family?
I was in Vermont with my daughter in Burlington. Warmed up to 22 one day.
need one more
beautiful arb! I do like Burlington! nice small quiet town
Wolvie - then remove the 5th letter for en5
oh... marc... does your wife know...?
I don't know why, but Pitt has always left me cold
Jacula--I didn't get your an6 clue
uh - can i come out of the penalty box now? there are no more donuts
ROFL hurshy!
LOL hursh
T.Cruise WAS good looking when he was a bit younger...Top Gun, A Few Good Men...now he looks a bit "Strange" to me...the eyes aren't the same
brad pitt i can look at, until i think of his pet spiders....EWWWWWWWW
ty sparkly - I am blind today
ro5/16?
you ate ALL the donuts???????
he has pet spiders????????
Yes, TO, oh you poor thing
phanom word: donut
well chiley - none of us look as we did when we were younger. :-)
yw wolvie
what's wrong with pet spiders? I had pet scorpion.. lol
i heard he did, he and jen
pet spiders? Is this true?
TO, you have donuts in your belly
They just don't make em like Paul Newman or Gregory Peck!
well no one toldme when my panelty was up! who's in chargne this morning?
marc - past tense of flower
ro5/16 - rascal
cary grant
Marc - a bad man, a cad, a bounder. (ro5/16 that is, not you!)
ro 5/16 a word Dickens probably used to describe a charming thief
ro5/16 - a 'loveable ro***'
i'm not in charge!
Thanks guys got it.
agreed, hursh
oh man - I clued the wrong word - again. le sigh
*sighs as new norah song plays*
is it out now, nut?
bye all!
OK, who wants to be Babble Referee this AM? And someone needs to buy more drinks and food for the penalty box, TO depleted the supply.
I have to get back to the grid or I will never get this done.
yes owl, ever since 1/30, all those days that i've been deprived!
bye sparkly - and ty again
no TO, but some of those movie stars actually get better looking with age.
Funny how words run in cycles; the musical et5 & 6 from yesterday are here again.
bye sparkly
*hangs head in shame*
Bye sparkly--enjoy the day
I find it more efficient to keep my own penalty box supplies at hand and eat them preemptively, just in case...
chiley: sean connery
do you think they get some help Chiley?
true evan
Oh, Sean Connery, and that accent---**drooling**
lol vi!
56 left. Time for a break. BBL.
tom selleck, just to throw my quarter in
ga 6/33?
See you later, Jacula
i'll miss his voice when he's gone
george cloony
big stake pab - way more than 2 cents. ;-)
bye jac
nope - clooney still does get to cary grant. at least for me
OK come on how about Michele Pheifer
kay...must clean...will lurk though, so no talking about me
later, jacs time for my break too, need to shower and get dressed . or before i know it itwill be dr time and i will still be sitting here in pjs!
I met Cary Grant once and he was something to look at even in his late 70's
Bye TO
bye TO

well wolvie you know inflation
whoa marc! such a gentlemmman
LOL pab
Are we supposed to be searching for words yet?
wow Marc - very cool
now *poof*
Is anybody home?
ga 6/33 ?
I'm searching.
Sorry, ARB--I haven't found much so far
In searching for the ga6/33 I found 5/22 and 7/44, but still no 6/33.
Hey, COusin Earth--are you here?
clues for the ga5/22 and 7/44 please Vicuna
ga5/22 - tawdry, showy with bad taste ga7/44 - pl
ga 5/22 and 7/44 -- think of Barcelona church architect
thanks Vicuna and ARB
Voldemort's pet snake is in here. But she doesn't count.
ga 6/33 -- means worthless rock bits add two vowels to the ga 4/8 before it
found the ga 6/33 -- like a French spelling of the ga 4/8
I don't remember that name, Vicuna
Thanks, ARB.
(and Kateq)
wow! what a word.. thanks
has anyone heard from Kate since she moved to Toronto?
I haven't flosey
hello again gi6/30??
No, I wondered too, when kateq arrived here
She popped on yesterday, I think, to say she'd arrived safely and the money was in her bank account.
wonderful, thanks Vic, glad to hear it
flosey - kate was in a couple of days ago - seemed ok was going to look for a place to stay and then a job
Good news, Vi

one tends to feel pretty smug re word knowledge--'til one logs on here! dunce cap, please!
Guten Morgen, Babblers! I am missing a do 5/16. Is it a gerund like the other one? Any clues appreciated
Yes, playing Babble is a lesson in humility
ni5/14, please I was humble when I started but now there is no word for the humility I go through here maybe that is what io6 means.
hi inge not gerund sort of like a puppy
Inge, I have 2 do 5/16 words. One is a gerund, The other is a motherless calf

david arquette told phoebe that he was a di6/30 for stalking her instead of ursula in an episode of friends
you need to convert them to mp3s
You have to load it into itunes on your computer first.
oh, they arent'?? yeesh
I remember you told me that Marc. There is now a beautiful skyline in Tel Aviv -- tall buildings and all.
i did marc, i drag and dropped them to music, is there other?
I know but they took out the bench in Disengoff circle. That was a dissapointment to my wife and I.
no hurshy not getting it - nobody has stalked me in recent decades!!!

nope, m's is usually used as a word for older women
marc vowel and gerund ending
Gosh, ursh.. I'm just not getting it. I don't know the m-word... I'll probably go duh, when I hear it.

Thanks for the good vibes, stid
I got the levis joke 4 j words but any other clues 4 the last 3?
I hate the Is
hope you're feeling better now though Pam...
i grew up with basset/boxer mix who could talk and do all kinds of tricks. but her ears were short, just long enough to put in the corner of her mouth. so I'd stick them there and she'd walk around with a goofy look as if she were carrying something precious. then she's "put them down" as if they were eggs. hilarious.
one is a ballet movement; fast plane + vowel
Thanks, Angela
{{{{pam}}}} glad you're here today.
anna
basset/boxer mix? wow, that's unique!
okay, off to be really busy (again) hope to have time later to work the grid -- is it hard or relatively fast?

Don't forget to pluralize...
Fancy....jealous and growling at Buster!!

hello again everyone, back to finish last 129
hi ren
exactly half way through, this is a tough one
Fancy has very little black in her coat. she is more silver and reddish than anything else. I really thought she was ugly when I first saw her!
Hello ren.
He Ren
Hi Angb, Haz & SMDNJV
reallly? aww...i bet she's sweet! rare to see a yorkie with hardly any black fur
fancy's kinda rusty color
she is a sweet little puppy..to have been abused..she has a really good temperament
aww...good thing u found her smdnjv
how could anyone abuse a sweet little dog :(
When she is groomed each week, her coat gleams like silver...seems like sparks dance in her coat...
buster's great too...although whenever someone comes over...he jumps at them too much...trying to get him outta that bad habit, but he gets soo excited when someone new comes around
Hi everyone. I give up. I'm sure it's a fish, but I can't find those two tops e's! Help?
got it...thanks
stuck on gi 6 and gi 5
Eva - think in terms of almost the downy duck, then ei5 adds spanish two to the beginning
ei 4/5 - duck whose feathers used in bed covering - r
i only have one gi....gi4/8
Hello Eva
Fancy loves the grandbabies face...she licks it all the time...of course it always has food on it. Drives my husband crazy!!
gi6 - Scots version of distribution (use the gerund ending)
Thank you!!
haha! too cute! careful fancy hasn't licked her privates before kissin the baby tho! ;)
ty haz
gi5 - Use the first three letters of the gi4/8 and add two different vowels.
You're welcome.
ig 6/18 please
ig6/18 - a reptile often kept as a pet.
we try to keep fancy out of Jaime's face...but you know how that goes. Fancy and Jaime are the same age but for a few days...and Jaimes face is close to the floor.
tks haz
thanks haz
i'm sure it's fine...they say a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's!
thanks Haz I did not have that one
But look where a dog puts its tongue.....
lol...i know...that's my thought on it too, but people do say......
Depends on where the dogs mouth has been !! LOL
There are studies that have shown that dog's saliva is remarkably free of bacteria. Still.....
Okay girls and boys...time for me to go to work! I'll miss you all..... Hopefully I will be back later tonight. Happy babbling!!!
brings to mind when buster had gotten into my garbage! don't think i'd want him lickin my face after chewing on old food
Bye leigh - nice to see you again, but keep up with the studies!
see u leigh
Bye Leigh
Fancy's groomer brushes her teeth for us weekly..as well as bathing etc...but the silly little girl runs right out and licks her behind first thing...I guess to get the taste out of her mouth!!
lol... does fancy have a bath weekly?
(i've been told it dries out their skin if they're bathed more than once a month!)
but buster gets brushed daily
Yes she gets bathed and tooth brushed weekly and nails clipped and glands unclogged etc once a month...all on the same $10 a week.
bbl
(have to with a shih-tzu undercoat
that's a real reasonable price SMDNJV
what's your thoughts on the skin drying out SMDNJV?
I thought it was a good price..people come to her from Nashville even to have their pets groomed...she is very good.
glands unclogged? what's that?
do shih-tsu need gland unclogging?
(must ask my groomer about that too)
in 6/18 please
Anal glands can get overly full and need to be emptied. Usual symptom is the dog scooting along the floor on its behind.
in6/18 - a motel + to have had a meal
outgig
in 6/18 - inborn
Anal glands...they are not always clogged but she always checks to see.
really! i've never heard of that! must ask my groomer if she does that for buster
Some dogs are more susceptible to glands clogging up than others.
(buster's my first dog)
Gross
have that one, guess i need the in 6/24, thanks
buster doesn't drag his but much tho...cept for last weekend when he had diarhea
Fancy has never had clogged glands, but the groomer checks monthly....
thank god for u guys to teach me this stuff!
lol...sorry we're grossing u out angb
;)
Babble provides education in all sorts of ways!
is gland cleansing painful for the dog?
dont feell bad Cathyar...I didnt know what she was doing until i asked...
sounds painful
No - it's worst for the poor person doing the unclogging. The smell is NOT pleasant.
i'd imagine!!!!!
in+garden ga4
buster's due for a vet visit in the next couple months...i'll ask a huge amount of quesitons
Veterinarians usually check during routine check ups also.
(oops...dyslexic typing)
Cathyar - my husband recently dealt with a gentleman whose dog was very ill. He had three A4 pages of questions....
is your husband a vet Haz?
He is. He specialises in large animals mostly but still does some small animal surgeries.
And I get to answer the phone at nights and at weekends.
cats also get clogged anal glands. If they are scooting around the house dragging their tushes, that's sometimes what's going on
ding
i'd have loved to have been a vet, if it weren't for my fear of getting bitten.
sorry!
times up eva into the penalty box with ya
Is that where they get the term...anal retentive??
very good info to know!...i'll keep an eye out for butt-dragging ;)
HAHA SMDNJV!!!!!!!
Husband is sporting a HUGE bruise on his leg, courtesy of a cow trying to squeeze past him in a restricted space. It's not for the faint-hearted.
might as well bein the penalty box....not doing much good in the grid!
well...i better run...been neglecting my housework...bbl to try and find my last 77 words

i wouldn't eat it if it had fuzzy stuff on it or if the top was bulging..
I wish I did like it but the only way I can eat it is by mixing it with dry cereal.

yummy with granola!
hi ren8

i loved L&D when I did my training... there was a brand new program implemented where u follow the mom from l&d straight through her entire stay... i didn't like postpartum, so i gave it up
much too much crippling pain for nursing now.
I agree, not so crazy about PP, feel like a waitress instead of a nurse
i am also a graphic artist (computer)
my duaghter does nicu
that's a great way to describe PP nursing.. waitressing
she loves it
that can be stressful too
working w/kids that r not well is so tough... i was better at it before i had my own kids
I am grateful for all nicu nurses...my Christian was eleven weeks premature and they were wonderful with him

Ty for the Y's. finally a black box there.

I have one little word left....help pls with 1st ta5/14

Hi Scrabbler
Hi Mom! How is your weekend go5?
so far so good. And yours? Have you been skiing?
I XC-skied yesterday and today. No wipe-outs yesterday, but 2 today.
Oh no. Were you hurt?
thx fran, had to google it.
Stupid wipe-outs, not spectacular like with the Olympics. And I am fine--just a bruised ego.
I'm sorry.
Scrabbler, do you live in the area of NY that is receiving all the lake effect snow. I can't believe one place can have that much snow.
It was glorious in the woods--tr**s creaking, snow falling, and otherwise silent.
I bet that was very nice.
no 5/14?
I am south of Buffalo. We have had about 3-4 ft in the last week, Oswego County, east of Lake Ontario has had 100 + inches of snow in the last week.
od 5/14 and 6/24 combo?
no 5,14 = What you do with your head + you and me is **
od + long time, then pl
That is just unbelievable. Here we had 6.5 inches Tuesday night and people were nuts.

Oops, wrong combo, wangs. Think British spelling of od4, then pl

Do you often go through briar patches, SMD?

Only when a bunny gets loose and head to the blackberry patch!
we all do that sometimes borden
Bye sunny
We had Easter bunnies one year...it got loose and we bought a 2nd. First came back...all of a sudden we have a ton of little wabbits all over the yard!!
LOL
re6/21 please
They excel at multiplication.
yo 6/30?
wa 7/52 7/56

Yes they do Scrabbler....one litter?? is half grown and all of a sudden you have 7 or 8 more!!
wa7/56 past tense of 1 before
WA 7/52 - do you have the 6/36? if so put a vowel in the middle of that word
sounds like a cross between creamy white stuff and a type of noodle that is great with cheese
WA 7/56 - past tense of word above it
And with that re6 clue, phandmd, I have achieved nirvana!!!
wa 6/36 7/52
woo hoo!

nope still stuck with those wa's 6/36/ 7/52
WA 6/36 - use the 4/8 above but minus the 2nd vowel end with 3 point ltr + article
they really were cute and the neighbors loved them. then someone moves into the neighborhood with a Pitbull and we boxed them up and found homes for them before they became happy meals for that dog!
TO, I have 4 bunnies.
by Andree...
or use your name + 3 point ltr + article
Good for you, SMD.
put a 3rd vowel in the center of the word for the 7
are they in doors? i heard they like to gnaw at woodowrk\
That dog could cllimb a fence faster than any kid in the neighborhood. the kids loved coming over to play with the bunnies.
hey all
Yes, I do have bunny damage around the house, although I have improved at bunny-proofing. My rabbits have always been litter-box trained. They have their own personalities. I sleep with the sweetest one, Sebastian.
phand..you're killing me with the article...
hey Kthdsn, are you in Canada now?
I am yes :D
Kate, Kate, Kate!!!!!! How are you and the girls????
hello dear all!

my rabbit likes to hump the cats
and the cats kindof seem to like it
Hey kthdsn.....happy to hear from you...hope you and the girls are all settled in now!
an article is a word that is used in front of a noun (like a) the article I am referring to is a 2 letter article

That it the tough part with pets--when they are sick, but I give them a great life and they make mine better.
2 RU 6/27 - RU + ga 4/6 and RU + anagram of another GO 4/6

We call congressmen honorable gentlemen . .same difference . .

My Aunt Fanny was a linguist who trained opera singers by phonetics to pronounce other languages correctly -- she had a singer boyfriend whose operatic name was Arrigo Osmano but he was really Harry Holtzman
my aunt fanny was an artist and a tatter
from now on, i hereby decree that we call nut "aunt fanny"
Don't use fanny jokes with the brits
