hamentaschen are pastries shaped like biblical villain Haman's three cornered hat. They are essential to Purim. I'm making yeast dough ones as we speak - 3 fillings: poppy, prune, or apricot.
ty dax for the qu8 !

even though they are named for Haman, they remind me of Esther. . . (a bit racy)

It's also the Jwish holiday where one is encouraged to act outrageously -- the services are noisy and filled with noise makers at the sound of Haman's name. Liquor flows .

I just saw the dumbest, but funny, movie - How to Eat Fried Worms
I just saw how they made "fake" edible worms that were soooooo realistic LOL
sounds like fun
made me chuckle... certainly would be a favorite of 11 year old boys
and a good halloween treat, assuming they tasted nice
LOL... there was an special feature on the DVD about how they were made... a creative mum might be able to duplicate them... a few of the flavors I remember are - tapioca, pistachio, and cheesecake flavors
sounds pretty good
when our daughter was young, I do remember making a recipe with oreo cookies as dirt, gummy worms in terra cotta pots... but I think there was another ingredient that is escaping me right now (my daughter is 23 now, so it has been awhile)
i know a few children who prefer the natural flavour of worm!!
LOL MV icky!!
this is my latest freaky recipe http://penfield.psych.uiuc.edu/omnibra in/2006/10/brain-recipe.html
oh how funny; I don't think though that I have ever seen pomegranite juice in our grocery??
it's in the health section i think volley
you could probably substitute with cranberry
ground to a halt, got to go, have fun all!
bye mva
hmm cool; the pic is so realistic looking; isn't there also a recipe that looks like eyeballs; I vaguely remember seeing something at one of my daughter's friends' houses at Halloween
haven't seen that 1 volley, but there was a human torso one with pastry that had sauce filled pockets that oozed as you cut them
YUK!!
lol
I'll have to remember all of these tips for my future grandkids
lol yeah it can be handy to have a store of that sort of stuff, i usually print and paste them into a boredom book
have to head off now - c ya later

hi Iain!

hi Fran - bye nan
hi saph!
just saw your 80s icon saph, can you believe they're coming back?
we went to the zoo one day and a young girl had them on with flip-flops and a mini-skirt. quite bizarre
especially since it was about 80 degrees F that day
really?
I remember people wearing them in the summer - never made much sense to me :)
people in Guam were wearing them, it hardly gets below 90 in Guam.
my kids had a million pair - but they all took ballet several times a week so they had a good excuse :)
they're big in morocco and germany as well.
maybe they never went out of style. :-)
that's one fad I can deal with - some should have never happened, forget about them coming back :)
it's possible, but in order for them to be "retro", wouldn't they have had to?
well ballet people always wore them - but not really for style
I wish it was 80 or 90 here tonight or that I had leg warmers right now - I'm so cold
me too saph...leg warmers should be required for babbling.
must go by all
bye lain
and fingerless gloves would be nice too - maybe I wouldn't make so many typos if my hands weren't so cold
bye lain
are you babbling outside saph?
Why not simply babble in the sauna and be done with all the extra regalia
are you babbling outside saph?
hey br! i heard you guys got hit pretty hard last night. ndsu cancled classes!
No, I'm at work at the hotel which is right on the water and it is very windy and rainy - just can't get warm
aaahhh...and i suppose it's a big open room that doesn't hold any heat.
exactly
nah, weather was fine... I was outside snoozing in the hammock
haha...you usually are.
sorry, got distracted helping hubby with his laptop
hi babrab!

she spends a few hours each afternoon in there creating chaos
:-)
it is easy for me, Fran, it is a perfectly common word in Dutch :D
Hello all :)
it's used often enough in america, but i always miss it...until today
hi hodag!
hi ya Fran
Hi Hodag
darn (can I say darn today?), time for my pt appointment. Still splitting headache from yesterday's emdr. Not totally sure why I am putting myself through all this... in stead of babbling with my babble buddies....
hey ho!

hi ya lyn and sprite
Fran, I think it is wonderful you have overcome your an5/14 :D Let me try and follow that example in real life, lol.

any one know how to clean the keys on the key board? My I keeps sticking and it is driving me nuts!~~~:(
what sort of keyboard have you got? laptop or normal computer?
desk top
don't use the vaccumn hodag, i have no backspace key, lol
lol andree!
have you got any compressed air?
thats the best way to clean the things, usually
de7,s please
no,but I wonder if my hair dryer would work?
Hi everyone. :) Could someone tell me what Q word I'm missing please? I have 5 x Q5, 2 x Q4, 3 x Q6, and 1 x Q8.
worth a go! you just need to get a *good* stream of air around under the keys
if *that* doesn't work, you can normally prise the key off, clean it and put it back on, but not fun to do if you don't like fiddling with computer stuff!
jen, do you have a q5 before the royal one?
Nope. *hunts for it*
make sure you unplug it from the computer first hodag
marvellous, thanks.
Ty Atalante I will give it a try later :) Hi Jen.
hi jen!
hi jen
Hiya. :)
I print a schematic of the keyboard, take out all the keys, clean and replace
and don't be afraid to really poke around under the key, keyboards are fairly sturdy!
qu+ anagram of eat
these last 7 are killing me

Good morming/evening all. Just a nice size of grid!
hi haz!
thanks fran
hi haz!
yw oggy
good morning Haz
Last night I dreamt that the grid was covered in q and yielded only 10 words. This is a relief!
aha someone else who dreams babble dreams!
dream? that's a nightmare haz!
It was very frustrating.
te7/32 please
still looking oggy
2 left, te6/21/te7/32 are they combo.
i have a te6/21 that is the past te*** of te***
got that one, there are 2 te6/21 together
back - after a fight with the driver from the concrete truck that was blocking all traffic in our street, and would move the darn thing 50 cm so everyone could go past him.
okay, looking for the other one then
hope you didn't hurt the guy too badly sprite.
:-)
*would NOT move
te6/21 - te plus a vowel, then what you cook in
te7/32 - the plural
I went back in the house, took my cell phone and pretended to make pictures of the situation, the licence plate and his ugly head. He was not pleased.
thanks haz, i had a feeling it was something like that
You're welcome.
does that mean you missed PT or was it on your way back?
was late for my appointment because of him, but I called and explained, and could come nevertheless.
thanks haz, thats me done, now i have to go to work.

okay, happy babbling then! see you all tomorrow
thanks for offering, Fran, I plod along a little longer. Still too many to ask.
bye Fran - have a good day tomorrow
ni5 all! *poof*
You're probably stretching the definition of 'plodding', sprite, if you're going at your usual pace.
I just tried 'yonge' because I cannot find the last 2 Ys, so that's how my 'pace' is atm :)
do you want counts Sprite?
thanks, no I am fine. Enjoying the chase and the distraction. Thanks for offering :)
My God I've just managed to finish the Q's without a list. I This may be my best achievement of the year!!
YAY katie!
Well done!
I know it's not much of an achievement but you have to take pleasure from what you have got :-)
The only problem is trying to convince non-babblers that it's a good thing. We understand.
it IS an achievement! Be proud, this kind of thing gives a kick :)
Okay, time to go - 35 left to find later. This IS a friendly grid.
phantom - oyster
bye Haz!
Bye Haz - have a good day
found the Ys! But I am still one P short. Is there a real strange P there or am I being blind?
also still one 7 short - can someone please tell me if there is T7, N7 or P7?
and I have 30 left which I will save for the morning. Bye everyone. Sprite po4.5 - I have 3 so far (but still missing 6). There is te7.32. Byee
bye lynxxx, thanks
i have 2 te 7s 7/32 & 7/32 so far
ok, I have both Te7s and I finished the Ns, so my missing P must be a 7 then. Can I beg for a clue?
I don't have it yet sprite
thanks for looking, saphyre :)
I just got the list - it's a pi 7/48
(pigneed sounds about right for a P7 - but still not here)
we all find a desire to own pigs don't we? LOL
:-) that is clever
I am with you, Ata! Enable isn't though. Thanks for points and 2nd letter, saphyre. *ponders reverting to a2z*
well, I used a2z and am glad I did, because I could not have thought up this one myself. Pi7 plural animal + consonant + first 2 letters of what you look with.
thank you! I never would have gotten that by myself either!
Thanks :)
yeah, of course, it is an obsolete word. Figures. Means darling or the thing you see with!
or pigseen? helpful when you've lost your pig ...
you are close, Ata.
firewords :)
congrats sprite
Congrats sprite
got it, but un-enable pig words are more interesting ...
absolutely. Any other clues I can help with before I go on with my day?
any excuse to NOT go on with my day is welcome...
still need too many to ask
no, but I should give you my flickr account url, so you can see pics I took on the beach 2 days ago! *runs to msn*
yay! I'd love that. Are they as beautiful as the ones you sent me?
pretty much :) I was taking pics of all the bits and bobs we picked up on the beach
I must be blind - I cannot find the ye 6

hi lori, yes very quiet..........
Go Saphyre!
With 4 kids, I find silence very unnerving, since I rarely experience it....
lol lori !
and when you do, you just know they're doing something they shouldn't..........
Silence is, withut fail, not good. One round of silence, had me find them convincing the youngest one to "launch" the cat across the room in a homemade slingshot
time to go, enjoy the grid everyone, bye
Have a great day sugar!
Fireworks!
bye and thanks Sugar
YAY saphyre!!!!!!!!!!!

For the pi5 use the sometimes vowel on the tree
pi6 use the same tree and add a short thanks
thanks got them
44 left to go...
Go Lori Go
can someone clue the 9 letter word please? Or at least what the stats are?
te4/6 anyone?
at9
familiar word
te + great *rid today + plural
te4/6-sounds like what beer comes in
thanks - was trying to go from the other t
at9 doing the at6
got it! Thanks. Had to find the at 6 first!
Sorry Katy I thought you had the at6
that's ok. I like to look. Should have found it earlier tho. I'm a paralegal. LOL, but the ones you should see are sometimes the ones you can't see.
Sometimes you look at them, and say "they don't connect", even though they do..... Hate taht
I think we all get struck with word blindness I know I do LOL
me too. sometimes I just put in blind words hoping I get something and am amazed that they work!
and then there's the daggone phantoms. Like today, I keep wanting to use shoe and its variations. But that H just doesn't go to any vowels!
Hey! I did it! Anyone need any clues before I take off?
Congrats kitty!!
WTG Kitty!!!!!
t<
Congrats kitty!
ty, I mean
still have a few to go, time for a break

Good afternoon/morning. No 9 here yet.
The 9 is an extension of the at 6
G'd morning Haz
Thanks Lori.
make the at 6/18 a gerund
It's a real word, not tricky
and the at6 is.......?
I give witness to the fact that it's a normal word (at6 and 9)
To vouch for, swear to/by
LOL Haz
good afternoon Haz:)
Hello jean - a crisp frosty morning has given way to rain here.....
got the 9, had to use the thesaurus though.....
yes we had a good frost early this morning Haz but as yet no rain
It'll come. If there's any justice in the world, everyone should have to share the rain.
we're sharing it here, Haz
lol Im just looking out into the back garden and Im sure your right Haz it looks like rain is on its way
right got to dash my friend has arrived from Cumbria so want to catch up with her, Happy babbling:)
Glad t to hear it, inge2! Bye Jean, have a good time with your friend.
Okay, I will trade your rain for half the foot of snow that fell last night and half the winds gusting to 45 mph
sheesh, babble!
you must be in the midwest...you got socked didn't you?
thanks Haz will do:)
That sounds dramatic, BabbleRabble.
hi 6a
no drama intended, but then I don't expect justice from the weather
hi eva
babble i love the snow! But not the sleet they are saying it will do later this afternoon before turning back to snow.
That's me put in my place!
Good day Babblers!
Hello Scrabbler - nice friendly grid today.
Morning all, grid looks pretty good today
Eva we have schools closed here in Mass -- we're in the ice storm portion, and it's pelting outside. Got about 2 inches of snow last night. It's raining in Boston, though, and the warm air is headed our way by this afternoon.
Goodmorning pida.
I managed to finish last night, but it was tough and I was losing my mind at the end.
morning, everyone
ch-just hope you don't get the kind of ice ou did last time
Hi Angel
yay, scrabb! I finished also, for the first time in a long time
Hi Pida--you just came in too
Good morning Angelsong - Scrabbler, this grid should restore your equanimity.
I agree Scrabbler, it was hard work to finish yesterday.......
I'm staying home today, and my beloved cancelled his out of town appt this morning. With Babble and coffee, what more could I ask? :)
With a small grid (what was yest--119?) I expect to finish, but I was humbled yesterday!
Some of those M words---those were my last ones.
I can't stay but wanted to say good morning.
hi mom
Hi Mom! How is life in Kentucky?
Hi mom
Good morning Mom - enjoy your day.
mornin mom
Hello everyone
hello fellow babblers
good morning all
Hi Inge2, Scrabbler, Ch1212, Haz and Pida. Life is KY is good, the sun is shining. Life is good.
Hi Annie Hi Flosey
Hi Bittong
i can't find any words
Hello Biltong and Annie and flosey..
biltong! hi!
Life in*
You must be packing, biltong?
when are you leaving for SA, biltong
Yes, inge2, a few odds and ends to see to tomorrow!
I leave on Sunday night Annie
going to dive into the grid, don't have much time this morning
Luke, today is "clue Friday" and many of us have changed our icons to be clues. Click on them to get the clue.
Scrabbler, are you still snow covered?
Oh, yes, Mom--it has shrunk down to maybe 2-3 ft.
Oh my gosh! It will be April before you see grass.
Mom--I had 3-4 ft of snow and ice on my metal roof come sliding down Tues night, and some bounced back into a LR window and crashed into my LR! I found broken glass and ice in my LR Tues AM
Haz, haven't seen Spangle for a while. How is she?
She's fine, Biltong, just her usual self.
Oh Scrabbler, what an awful thing to wake up too. Thankfully you weren't hurt.
And my downstairs bunny was OK--probably too scared to go near anything.
scrabbler-had a hysterical time yesterday going out to fill the bird feeder. Thought I'd be fine in boots because I had tromped down a path with snow shoes last time, but of course sank 3 feet down, flopping over, pulling myself out with trees, laughing so hard made it more difficult. The birds had better appreciate their breakfast this morning!
So, $185 for new glass/installation
That is a good thing. I am glad the bunny was ok!
LOL, Eva---snow-quicksand
Phone call interrupted my lat 6 words

at least my boots stayed on. That's always fun when you pull the foot out sans boot
Lori--get your priorities in order--fireworks before phone calls
I am glad it is all fixed and you can stay warm.
Yes, I have done that Eva---haha
Hi Lori
But you've finished now, Lori? Congratulations.
G'd morning Mom, Scrabbler, and anyone I inadvertantly missed.
Morning LoriP
Haz, not quite done yet. Almost.....
I had better go. I have housework to do before going out to lunch.
Ah, drum roll quietly in the background then.
Mom, it is not fixed yet--glass is on order, but I covered it in plastic, then a paper bag from Abercombie & Fitch with a really hot young stud looking at me!! I will miss him--reminds me of having posters in my bedroom when I was a pre-teen
LOL Haz
lol Scrabbler! You can still keep him up there
See ya later Mom. Housework is evil
I've been monkeying one of the ey4/6's for 5 minutes andmust keep missing the right one.
that would be an appealing sight to see each morning
It can be, Lori
2 of the ey's are an anagram for each other
Two of the ey4/6 are anagrams of each other, Eva
bye Mom
Were we separated at birth, Lori?
Bye Bittong.
Apparently Haz. I had that same trouble as Eva, thought I'd save her the stress
I hope to see everyone tonight
Bye Mom
Bye Scrabbler
Ta da! 145 words. I am done!!!!
Well done!
well done LoriP!
yahooooo lori
congrats to lori!
congrats, Lori!! And glad you're OK, Scrabbler!
Are there any Paraguayan Babbler?
That should be Babbers
lol scrabb, just read your LR window solution!
hi Une!
hey, annie :-)
morning Une, Annie, JFB
OK I give up - you know what I mean!
JFB-never seen any on the chat log, but my cousin from Uruguay plays
He is shirtless and hot!!!
Hi inge2
***Scrolling back to see what disaster has befallen Scrabbler***
now, now, Scrabbler, lol
haha, scrabb!
bless you haz and lori-one of those cases of hysterical blindness
hey, Inge :-)
Nothing so disastrous that she can't be comforted by a shirtless man...
I devoted undue time to it as well Eva, glad it helped.
must be an alt spelling of the hebrew letter?
I agree, Hazel, and it is a short-term solution to comfort me.
The reason I ask is that I've just been to a Womens World Day of Prayer service which was prepared by Paraguan women. It was the most uplifting WWDP service I've been to
How wonderful, JFB. I've participated in WWDP in the past too.
Scrabbler, that sucks! Glad no injuries occurred.
Sounds wonderful JFB
Lori--a casualty of the winter.
pony
Oh, dear....slinking off to the penalty box
the grid is beginning to mock me now...time to shower. Later!
bye inge
bye inge2
It was amazing and due to time differences It takes 36 hours to complete the day all round the world
Are you hearing voices, Inge2?
Bye inge2.
Later Inge
yes, and they are laughing mocking voices!
Tell the voices that when you want their opinion you'll give it to them! :-)
Bless you JFB! Our world needs all the prayer we can muster, and at the risk of sounding sexist, women are powerhouses of prayer as a group!
Here's something funny: I work at a psych hospital. In the parking lot I saw a bumper sticker that said "Don't believe everything you hear"
JFB we once had a guest preacher at our Church in SA and she was from Paraguay. Just can't remember her name now.
That's great, inge
I often hear them too, as if the words are teasing me---"I dare you to find me", "I am the Ghost of RE, I am here to haunt you."
LOL, that's good Inge
Great story, Inge2
ready for my first fish of the day, help with the ye6/27 please
JFB, my Mom has been a participant every year in the WWDP.
then, there's the adolescent inpatients who changed the "Ped Crossing" sign (pedestrian crossing) by adding and S: Sped Crossing (special ed students crossing)
ye6/27 - affirmed over again
I have to go now--tennis match at 9. I hit the snooze alarm too many times, dreaming about my Abercrombie boy-toy
ye = not noed but ******
love the black humor
thanks, LoriP
LOL excellent humor display Inge
and Haz
bye Scrab! and tx Lori that's the last of the mocking Ys
You're welcome.
bye Scrabbler
Inge2, have you seen the "Demotivators" site? It's despair.com, and the black humor is great!
Bye folks!
have the te7, cluez for the other 5 plz......
thnkx Lori, bye Scrab
Bye Scrabbler - enjoy the tennis
i will check it out, ch!
by scrabbler-go build a snow fort
click on "view all" to see all the posters. Anytime I need a good laugh I go there.
Later Scrabbler. Have a good day.
de7/32 and de/40 relate to one's future path
Desapair.com is great, I always laugh
pi7/48 - to the porcine, attach the ending of Miss Spears' first name
Having dropped in I must drop out again! Work calls - maybe bbl
pi7/48 means "darling" but it sure doesn't sound like it, because it's made up of the oinking animals + hump + **e-witness
bye JFB
bye JFB
Have a great day JFB
sy7/36 - variant spelling of a mineral. sy, a vowel and the hours of darkness, American style.
to7/32 - plural of te6/21 - te, then a poor spelling of the Sesame word (replace last vowel in the word with another)
Haz, I have te6/21 - highly strung. Is there another te6/21?
Yes, it comes just after the highly strung one.
ty, Haz
Hello all
You're welcome - just realising I should say te7/32 being the plural of te6.
Hello ursh
hi ursh
Hello ursh!
thnx Haz, just got the to's because of your icon....
G'd morning ursh
We knew what you meant :)
Biltong - temps today in Durban 31 C plus 8 for humidity discomfort - add sunscreen to the tanga list
Oh boy! Thanks for the tip, lol
Glad it's useful, pida!
Happy Friday, Babblers.. how's the grid today?
It's a very nice grid today, Aloyisius.
Good grid today. Shouldn't have any problems.
Hello Aloy
Oh, and g'd morning Aloy...
hi aloy
Done! Too bad it's so short on a snow day
glad to hear there aren't too many weirdo words.. super.. should be a shortie then..
congrats to eva!!
thanks annie
well done, Eva!
yay, Eva!!!!
very gentle puzzle today. Not to many weird ones
Congrats Eva!
like your adj. "gentle" eva, as opposed to "brutal", "harsh".. how else might we describe the tuffies?
The storm hasn't started here yet (9:40 am) but they cancelled school. 10 storm days in 4 weeks
Where are you, LoriP?
The latest buzz word is 'challenging'.....
wow, LoriP... where are you?
ah, yes... challenging,,, that is what I said instead of "horrible" to describe the grid a few days ago, lol
mornin babblers!
hi evan!
Morning evan
hi evanadine
hi evanadine
I'm in Nova Scotia Aloy.
G'd morning Evan
ooh, saw on the nat news that you guys are going to get dumped on.. hope you like snow
ns here too, and yes we are going to get snow tonight
I personally hate snow, and winter in general, but the kids love it, so that helps take away the pain....
bye everyone, be back later. Happy babbling.
bye, Biltong..
good morning!
Later Bit!
G'd morning Elisabet.
hey, K.
later, bilt and hi KE
ihate, 'yer from NS too? Cool.
Hmm, I need to update my icon. But I like this tupperware one, it is so colorful...
You could always use it for ae5/10 because Tupperware lasts for ages...
yup, near amherst
and my wife's name is Lori and our last name starts with P, coinkeedink huh
Ahh, I'm in Southwest Nova, past Shelburne. You guys make snow up there! :-)
LOL, weird, huh? Pleased to meet ya!
He, he, Haz! I know my mom has a lettuce keeper that is at least as old as I am. Beautiful spring weather here inTexas, by the way. Some of the redbuds are coming out now.
yeah you guys will be golfing soon
LOL Tupperware truly made a great product. Mom has bowls and different things in A-1 shape, that are almost as old as me.
Don't store your cakes in rusty ti4/4, use Tupperware.
Strangest thing about tupperware is that most husbands hate it
NOt tupperware anymore we've gone lock and lock!!!!!!!!!11
I think it is the buying that they hate really
its not the tupperware itself, its the parties!
I inherited some Tupperware, ursh is correct, the hub curses it and says he can't close it. I never have any trouble.
see i hate 'hates' tupperware
I just send my order. I HATE the parties. I feel compelled to buy things I don't want.
Not seeing many te clues!
te + 4th vowel + frying ***, then plural
My dad worked for the Tupperware company for a while, as a plastics researcher.
T/W parties seem to have fizzled out here - they just have displays on barrows in shopping centres
How's that Alleyn? :-)
thanks lori
The latest thing here is candle parties. Ack! Seriously overpriced goods.
Lori - no go with teo word. Too thick clearly
te + fried eg**
te + 4th vowel + a ***oramic view?
So where does one get tupperware these days? I never have seen it in stores, and they don't send me catalogs either
te + 4th vowel + a ***acea of clues?
I don't know - the stuff lasts so long it's starting to appear in people's wills.
te + 4th vowel + ***ty hose?
Lori and Haz! Got them
hello everyone, what a lovey dry and sunny day here
Mom returned a bowl and cover set, that I know for a fact was at least 15 years old, and they replaced the whole thing.
G'd morning ren.
Hence the recent move to disposable storage containers. Planned obsolescence.
go to tupperware.com and all your wishes can come true!
Hi Ren, we're talking tupperware!
Alleyn - I'm with you on the Lock and Lock, but no fancy colours (thank goodness)
Hi Lori, K.Elisabet, tuppaware, you cannot buy it anymore new, can you
Tupperware stands the te4/4 of time.
Oooh, maybe I'll do that! But I did just find some great stuff at IKEA. Lots and lots of small containers, perfect for lunchboxes.
I remember the pie container, in its perfect little triangle. I was the envy of all the lunch boxes in my school. I had pie!
gi 5 please?
Babblers will op5/12 on the subject of tupperware, won't they?
nm
We'll op5/12 on most subjects!
I'm too st 6/30 to pay for it nowadays
my icon clue, bunny!
does anyone have a clue for ap6/21 please?
gi + once u*** a time and plural
ap 6, add a 4th vowel into the sleeping disorder
ap6/21 is the variant spelling of the sleep disorder.
Even after having it, never heard of it, was monkeyed thru point value, but thanks! Learn something new every day.
me too bunny
thanks Haz, got it
your icon is hilarious today, bunny!
50 words left to find....time for a breakfast break!

my coffee-maker is at work...my motivation to get going in the am ;-)
That is a pretty good idea, coffee is a must have for me in the morning. I work from home though, so my coffee is my motivation.
ok, i have to get 108 words before using lickety
any clues for sy7 please?
why are the As from the top row so hard? I have the two sleeping disorders and the two ages.
Well, not much needed in the line of clues, so I think I will weboggle instead of doing hosuework...

Inge, do you have the imitating
sheesh, no! Thanks flosey

Flosey, my icon is for po4/7, like yours
The first qu 5/16 before royalty?
don't have that one Lori
Want a hint or want to look first?
my family had it on the magnavox Odessey II machine. If the "ball" went out on the right side it would just never come back, we had to restart the game and manually keep score
qu + past tense of dined
hint please
the first qu usually has an e in front of it, used in math class a lot
ty flosey
thanks, I tried queat and that didn't work :)
qu + I just *** breakfast
There are so many versions of it now, it was so much fun.
thaks Lori pabtrek clued me too
Oops, sorry. Connection slowdown here
before it was on home machines there was an "arcade" version, not a stand up one but in a table. The players sat down on each side.
ah, thanks K.E - would have to ask grandson about that - only see him twice/year we're on west coast and he's in Toronto
Heck, I remember Commodore 64 and the ever popular Vic 20! (I think that was it)
they were the first computers that we had Lori
that was when the kids were in highschool
I still have my commodore. Best computer ever (at least for its time)
done, done.. this was indeed a "gentle" grid.. anyone need a clue or two?
Our sons (22 & 19) have a quest to collect all the video game systems that have been made. There daddy has helped them with the ones before they were born. lol
Congrats and flowers to Aloyisius
yay for Aloy!
ooh, mom... you used a word, you used a word...
not someone else with old computers! my husband "collects" them. we have commodores, zx81s, my old spectrum, BBCs ...
Congrats Aloy!!!
yes, I remember my son making it 'talk' he left for (summertime) work early one morning and left a note on the signout by the door, Mom, click on such and such and it said Happy Birthday Mummo
now I have to go see what word I used. I assure you it was an accident. :( Off to the penalty box
oh my gosh, I sure did.
here in Austin there is a Computer Museum in the goodwill computer store. Lots of old games, calculators, and I believe a Cray supercomputer too
now I can add it to my list. Hadn't gotten that one yet.
(-: yay
remind me never to bring my husband to Austin!!!!
That is neat K.Elisabeth
Mine either Atalante or my sons

ty lori
G'd mornign Vic
Good morning, Lori, et al.
hi vi!
hi vic
Good afternoon, Ata, morning rae, etc etc! :)

oooof your pic gives me shivers, Vi. I used to injure my fingers soooo badly any time I even looked at those things!
which one Alleyn?
have the one with frying utensil
the other is an extension of the 4 above, add s*** a song
Sorry to give you shivers, Ata, and I do have seven stitches on one finger from the woodcutting tools. But that's the beauty of this new rubber they have. Unlike lino, your tools don't slip, and you don't have to push so hard so it's way safer. But I really should go get a clue pic instead.
clue for the 9 please?
owie! people would always know when I'd had art at school from the number of plasters stuck everywhere!
9= at+te7........
missing the 4 above
at 9 is the act of swearing to, or vouching for
te 4 is to write a **** and hope you pass!
thanks movieman
Well, I used the rubber with middle schoolers for about 8 years and never had any blood!
ty movieman!!!
yw doxy
and lori
we had the Lino From Hell ....
clues please for the 2 de7's
I think my art teacher was digging out floor tiles from the class room next door...
LOL yes! that sounds familiar
missing a y....have ye4/6, ye6/27 and yo4/6.....
de7 - de + fork t***, change last letter for other one
I never cut myself, but that tool was seriously medieval
de 7s are Luke's ******* from Star Wars
thanks !!
I never liked lino, either. I had no interest in block printing until the rubber company sent me these samples of the new stuff. I've been doing block prints as my primary medium pretty much ever since. Yes, I am spreading the good news about E-Z-Kut! (Actually, there are several brands now.)
yw
There are 2 ye 4/6's movie
ty lori
Silver idiot! Hadn't spotted using the t in the bottom row. Thx
one of the ye 4's neds in a double consonant
sorry, vic, but I"ve been completely spooked...I'll stick to watercolours :)
26 to go.....
and your block prints are wonderful, so they must be a good advert for the new and cool rubber!
me too, rae ;)
ye 6? plz?
Go movie!
i'm not getting the de 7's clues
ye 6 is not noed but ******
*high five!*
I looked up noed but didn't find it as a word
de: one's fate
de = your fate de + I once did a ****t as a waitress + 2nd vowel, then change that to the sometimes vowel for the other
Don't be technical prism..... :-)
duh... figured it out. ty lori (again)
In the name of Babble, I decalre noed a word! LOL (sorry)
lol
what do you paint, rae? have you got any paintings online anywhere?
time for the gym. 26 left. bbl all!
thanks very much Lori....weboggle is a new addiction
Happy workouting prism! (I decalre that a word too) :)
There. Possibly not words people were missing, but an excuse for a pretty icon...
Though I am apparently incapable of typing declare properly....
Oh well, I'm sorry I haven't been able to bring anyone into the Church of Block-printing this morning! :)
LOL ihate, weboggle entertains me now when Babble is done.
oooooooooo thats much better!
I actually sounds fun vi
Actually, I really just represent the Church of Art Dabbling. I believe everyone should dabble in some sort of art or craft, of whatever medium brings them the most joy.
missing an s from the last column, have so4/5, so4/4, and so6/21.....
Chop so5/14, odd spelling.
hear hear!
hi everyone
ty vic......
thanks vi
hi owl
hey TO
Hello, TO.
G'd morning TO
sorry ata - I had to answer the phone, I paint landscapes and none of them are online at the moment
hi TO!
you should put some up for us all to admire :)
We want to see some, rae!!!
once I get a chance to scan them!
I don't like scanning though...I think it alters the colours
Buenos morning ..
tor...wasssup?
ji tor
scan, then put the colours back together with a graphics package. everyone does it
hi
I guess...but that sounds like work!
G'd morning tor
it works though! and now Vi and I will bug you till you do it :P
I'll have to try it and see...I'm using a technique I developped myself and I'm afraid the brushstrokes will disppear in a scan
clue for ap 6 pls
ooooo, now I really want to see :) new techniques! yay!
hello everyone
ap 6 add the 4th vowel to the other sleeping disorder
G'd morning diggy

I like to call it "ruin the brushes"
hi guys!
hi enya
I have an easier technique for that. Leave them in reach of a cat.
Go movie!
19 left.....
Okay, okay, we will know that the scan doesn't capture the full glory of color or technique, but we want to see anyway!
thks lori, I should have thought of that
hi raelite
G'd morning enya
alright...I'll see what I can do for monday
good morning lori =)
My icon doesn't exactly do justice to van Gogh, but it's still nice!
yay!
Strider, I did the same thing.
that's one of my favorite van Gogh's Vicuna
lol
how many words today?
145
145
ty
VG is a big inspiration for me
my cat seems to think my brushes are stationary mice
my cat only like things that have a pulse and could possibly squeak/chirp
My cat likes to chase after the flashlight beam.....
aw...I wish my cat did that
My cat eats nothing but roses and cheese.
mine like *feathers*. she plays with a feather all day
rocky likes feathers too...when they're attached to a bird
Go to the $ store and get a laser pointer. Ctas love 'em!
hahaha nice one raelite =)
:)
my cat is always leaving pieces of rodent all over the patio.....
Sily's never met a bird. I think she'd run away ... (she gets to stay inside here cos we've got a big road right next to us. as soon as we move, she'll have free range!)
My cat-nephew swats hummingbirds right out of the air. But my cat is completely wimpy and incompetant in all feline pursuits.
ooohh free range cat
my cat is afraid of birds and mice
my cat's scared to death of the vacuum cleaner......
sounds likea metro-cat, vic
and ceiling fans
rocky kills without a second thought, anything that moves, and he pts all his treasures in the stair well, which we call the treasure chest
ptooey
lol rae. She's been indoors-only her whole life. But actually she goes after flies pretty well.
nope tor
he brought down a crow...a foot and a half long rat
sily's far too fastidious to get dirty and kill something. my old cat once dragged home a fox though!
woah!
#3 kid is trying to taech the cats to turn on light switches with the laser pointer. They can jump quite well, when chasing that beam....
my cat always jumps up onto the ledge outside my sitting room window whenever he wants to re-enter the house.....
I heard about a cat being taught to play fetch
he was a kamikaze cat. fox? no problem? next door's alsatian? he'd give it a go!
wow, Ata, that's quite the kitty
I had a cat that would fetch peanuts
my cat has brought home cows, once attacked a full-grown alligator, and protected our family when we were burglarized
my neighbor's cat would fetch olives
he was a big ginger tom with a feral father and a burmese mother. he was *fabulous*
how many words today?
145
sounds like, it Ata
Most excellent, markb! :)
he is our cute little kitty...don't know why the zoo keeps calling us
thanks move
lol mark
My cat comes when I whistle.
he used to follow me to school *sigh* then I'd have to miss the first lesson taking him home!
my aunt actually raised tigers and mountain lions
wow!
LOL Atlante, how creative....
I know...it was wild...my parents would never let us go see her when she had one, though...and that she was in chicago and we were in Montreal
thats one cool aunt!
she liked to drink too...she owned a 7-11
Ummm... My aunt had a dog named Lady? Sigh. That's the best I can do!
she raised them just as pets, or did she raise them for a local zoo / wildlife park?
Strong drink and wildcats MAY not be the best combination. I can see why your parents didn't want you too close!
she raised them for the zoo
must have been awful for her having to give baby tigers away when they were ready to go!
they were babies though...I was always so mad I couldn't go play with the tiger cubs!
she would give one back and another zoo would call her
I want that job
the thing about the 7-11 though: she had all these leftover stuffed toys from the claw machine and when we got to visit, we could take as much as we wanted!
when I was 8, she was the pinnacle of aunty-ness
Well, I have successfully used up 4 potential housecleaning hours. Well done!
wow! I bet!
but no tigers... :(
she lives in florida now...in her mid 80
Maybe she can still keep alligators.
ha! maybe!
TO6/27 anyone? Not the hat.
Take the hat and add another consonant to the end. Cross letter
Well, well ! TYVM

When they're done right, they're awesome ..

cheese and baked beans!

oh yes Ata, thats what we are having
cheese, beans and sweetcorn is even better!
we do twice-baked potatoes... bake them in skins, remove potato insides, mix with sour cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder and chives... put back in skins and top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake again till cheese melts
try adding a bit of ham to the cheese and beans, thats nice also Ata
all of this goes on a baked potato?

I wouldn't think that would be much of an endearment.....
I did dippnall -- doesn't make much sense!
back for 20 mins.
add 'thankyou' to the preceding pi4/5
I always thought that "in a pigs eye" was derrogatory
I couldn't see any connection between the defs. -- wouldn't want it applied to me either as an endearment or anything else!
to 5/16 plz

You're good, nan, got 'em all. just 2

hydra, one of them ends with a plural pa 4,5 te+another vowel, +the p word
I can just see that, Atl!
Nan: en 4,6
and she's half-burmese, so she has a very elevated sense of dignity!
...until she falls off the table...
yup!!!!!
Atl, don't you love the look she gives when she hopes you didn't see her fall off?
oh utterly! and the frantic licking to restore full dignity!
*chuckle* that's why I like to use cat icons!
they are just *fabulous* creatures
cybernan, need any more?
ea x1, ei x2, en x1, eo x1, eq x1, et x1, ey x4 -- missing? (one more)
if you want some prettiness, here's Silverclaws photo gallery: http://silver-claws.deviantart.com/gal lery/

He's 16, and starting down the (hopefully) long road to kitty octegenarianism. This is how his body is reacting to old age.
I should never ask for clues, lol they are so clear after you see them

Yup, Vicuna, we're going to change it to Catble.

Une, that's what it says "view profile" when you hover the cursor over the icon
Same cat stuff, different owners
fur-ther than we expected
Anyone who wants to see the latest portrait of my cat can go to: http://nydamprints.com/catwindow.html
How purrfectly awful puns, Sam!

SY 7 please?
babblers, help....
hey, hursh . . .
{{{{hurshy}}}} what's up?
Hi hurshy!
sy + vowel + not day
thanks Uneaixoise!
i'm back from boston. after i signed my lease i had... i dunno, kind of a panic attack. all my anxiety and depression came rushing back.
What need ye?
you got the apartment! that is good news. a big step! {{more hugs}}
thanks Une
sy 7-- add a foe: **emy + twas the **** before christmas, alt sp
Change is scary, but you are making positive steps.
You're just coming to grips with the situation ..
hurshy, I had a massive panic attack last night. I spent an hour just focusing on breathing... head under the pillow and thinking through.
hursh, you're making great progress but what you're doing is understandable VERY anxiety-producing!
but what if i can't handle living alone? working full time? commuting?
so first steps... are you breathing?
hurshy -- what if you can?
yes, i'm breathing.
So, hurshy, you are anxious now?
hurshy...you're a big girl now...Mommy would be proud of you !
I had a major anxiety episode from 4:30-5:30 AM
take each step by itself. like teaching a math problem.
yes, i'm anxious now. a bit less so. but that may be cause i'm now home.
You will of course handle it .. You are feeling very natural feelings ..
Afternoon, all. Hurshy! Congrats on your move! One day at a time, girl. You are woman. I can hear you roaring from here.
the only way I get through times like you are going through is to take each step by itself. The whole big everything is TOO big. But each piece is manageable. Focus on the piece that is here right now.
but i couldn't even go to the interviews i was supposed to have, cause i couldn't stop crying.
Hursh, you will take the steps to handle this new life, to be independent, to figure out where your life is going, to learn a new city and job
remember, the negative chatter about a future contingency that may never happen is making matters worse.
tomorrow will be better than today
i THINK it will be easier when i'm THERE and can take the T and stuff, not have to figure out the driving/parking situation.
There is so much to do and see in Boston. And the public transit is very decent. Using it is much better than having to drive around Boston on your own. EEKS.
You are leaving your comfort zone but you will create a new comfort zone.
that's okay hurshy, a learning experience. And so now you can think about how to schedule your next interviews to be less stressful.
hurshy -- it's relevant -- may I share something I have done that I am very proud of?
because you did something today is no reason to believe it will always be that way
go on stid
of course my family doesn't want me to separate in the first place, so they're all, if you're not SURE, maybe you should wait
You're nervous, Hurshy. But, think of the CATS!
but my fears have nothing to do with being unsure about staying in the marriage...
simplify... interview at a place not high on your list; practice
yes, please do stid.
hurshy....you know what you need !
As you know, our elder son was struggling with algebra. A lot. I knew I could help him, but I had to talk to the teacher and make arrangements to take him out of class and be at the school every day...
actually i don't know if i do, karys!
good advice, BR
And I did it. In less than a month, he is caught up to his class! But I was so scared I wouldn't be able to get out of the house, or that I could still teach at that level. I had so many "what-ifs"... and I worked through each one in small pieces and got there.
so what has changed from last week to today?
yes you do hurshy....believe in yourself.....you know yourself best...just listen to what is in YOUR head and YOUR heart, not everyone elses
everyone has self-doubts going outside a comfort zone to something new... that is to be expected
good for you Stid.... now you will be able to look back and say ' look what I did'
hurshy, reading back down -- sometimes the hesitation is about exactly how to take the step, not whether the step should be taken. Follow your heart (like Karys said).
the idea is to do what you can to make increase your chances of succeeding
We'll see if it sticks Karys -- he'll reintegrate in the classroom on Monday! :-)
Talk back to that "worry voice" and challenge it.
Good luck to Stidmatt!!
reduce stress by doing one or two things ... not so many
i don't know...
oh gosh stid.....will you have any fingers, let alone nails , left by Monday evening ?
yes you do hursh.... you would not have got this far iot you didn't !!
remind yourself you have succeeded in the past; there is no reason to believe you will not succeed now
LOL Karys, we'll see. It will be good to have my mornings to do my actual creative work again (I'm really more into art and garden than math).
BabbleRabble is very wise!
me too stid !!
Go, Hursh, go! You are NOT alone...the Babble Team is with you every step!
BR is indeed wise . . .
you are a problem solver .... calm yourself down and figure out a plan
hurshy, you have done a big thing. Relax and enjoy the moment, relish having taken this step (or mustard if you don't like relish) -- breathe, take a long hot bath (or whatever relaxes you), and focus on something you enjoy for a little bit. Then move on.
eeermmmmm....I still have 17 words to find !!!
down to ten here Karys, but in a holding pattern.
i dunno i dunno i dunno
{{{hurshy}}} you don't have to know right now. Just breathe.
hurshy......you will, you will, you will !!!...believe !!!
i just called a lady who would be interested in maybe hiring me but it's so far
That's OK, hursh, just do what you need to do IN SPITE of your fears. When things settle down, in a few months, or a year, or whenever, you iwll be proud that you got through it!
she was like, that's a REALLY long commute.
ye 6/27?
argh
wow -- you can make phone calls? Would it be a job you enjoy?
stop pannicing hursh,....the right thing will just appear, really it will
*hurshy begins to turn into a pirate*
hello
ye6 agreed
Hi TO!
stid :-)
hello TO
hi temple !
hey, TO
Thanks Une
Hiya, TO.
yeah the job seems good and all the downtown jobs with big companies seem more scary
Oh, TO, your icon and clue are not exactly helpful right now. LOL
yw :-)
hi everyone - it's been so long, you may not remember me!
i wish that her thing was near my apartment or that i had got an apartment there instead
well hi there all! karsy long time no se - but that kitty alwasy amakes me smile
i wonder if i can get out of the lease
I remember greenblatt, from NJ
what happens if you try to get out of a lease like a day or two after you sign it
one way to find out
Hurshy - I think you have three days to rescind.
then thats a good thing Temple !!
hi scrabbler!
that's a thought hurshy -- maybe you could? it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.
I had to go cold turkey for awhile - lol
husrshy, very few things can be done that cannot be undone.
oh greenblatt -- that's harsh!
why ? hurshy, have I missed a bit ?
whre in nj?
Why greenblatt?
Karys -- three left how about you?
te 6/21? Not being uptight
i'm so stressed out
I wasn't getting anything done! I'm in Summit, Temple - you?
now in pa
havn't done anymore stid....can't do two things at once anymore !!!!....anyway I'm going to Australia on Sunday !
That is OK, hursh.
hey hursh - did you find a better place?
I can understand being stressed out hurshy. There are many logistics to work out. In my experience, though, things DO work out.
are you in danger, hurshy
Australia? why?
Wow, karys! That will be cool!
is there anything you have to do right now?
to visit Roger's son and holiday
You are trying to do a ton of big things all at once .. You don't have to decide on your job today . .
cool!
well there's only like an hour and a half left in the business day and it's friday so i feel like i have to make decisions really fast
hopefully meeting Tiny too
that will be so nice, Karys, and a lot warmer and dryer than you've been having!
te6/21 past tense of te5/10
do you?
so5,14?
really, do you?
Karys used a woooooooord.
i don't know. i guess not...
hurshy, I think the first step for me would be to call and ask about the lease. Then, with more information, you can make a better decision about the other things.
I already have it though
I don't know if it counts as a word if its a babbler's name...
hurshy....what decisions can not wait til Monday ?
word? where? WHERE?
Une...I have that one....it is the te6/21 after that. Only two to go!
Scrabbler -- piggy call is the s o5/14
it was a very little one, TO :-)
go kkiln go!
i'm supposed to move on wednesday.... i feel like i should decide if i'm not going to after all...
TY Stid
Stid used part of a woooooord.
what is wrong with where you are hurshy ?
Judi---Babble SWAT Member
hurshy, you have time. You have just as much time as you need.
don't have that one, kk, sorry
Fortunately, I choose to use my powers only for good.
what is wrong with where i am is that i don't want to be with my husband.
I need the same one kkiln...
ah, kk, it's a Babblet . . . te + vowel + what you cook in
and plural
And so you are taking the right steps to get where you do want to be hurshy.
oh...sorry....thought you had already gone....so where can you go ?
Thank You Une.... that is fireworks for me! I never would have gotten it.
Aha! thanks Une.
i'm taking steps but they are causing me to freak out
ty Une
that's what the discussion is about Karys...
i'm such an utter mess
Yahooo kkiln!
yw :-)
but if you don't move wed. because you want to look at moving to a different apt, you don't have to. you can postpone the move till you have are ready...
Jumping off a sinking ship is scary . .
so where can you go hursh ?
you're entitled to be hurshy... AND you are also entitled to break it all into reasonable chunks.
YAY kkiln!
ho about temporary housing?
i guess i do just need to try to not think TOO hard right now...
me too. done.
Nap time--bye folks. 36 to go.
hurshy, stay in the present..... you are uncomfotable, but not in danger
ooops sorry...Congrats Kkiln !!!
and you too Stid !!!
lose the what ifs and should ofs
bye, scrabbler and congrats kkiln and stid!
Fireworks!
yes hurshy, breathe, relax, focus on something you can handle. Something that is more immediate and accomplishable.
definately Babble !
hello does anyone have a clue for the a 9? Merci...
and merk! (you big lurker you!!)
YAY Merk!
Bye Scrabbler
Merk...Congrats !!
Enomis gerund the at 6
a9 is gerund form of at6/18
Thanks, and congrats to you and kkiln
best get the list then
like a nice cup of tea, perhaps? it sounds really silly, but sometimes that is all I need to make the next step.
I have been in and out today. We were in on the big tornadoes last night and we've been working here and there.
oh see Karys, I went to the list at 50. So I had an advantage
hope you and your family made it through OK, merk
can you take klonopin?
We did, but we were half a block from where they hit in Americus, GA
i take klonopin at bedtime.
got it now, so excuse me for a while please
guess I don>t have the at 6 either LOL
don't know if i'm allowed to take extra now.
ohmygosh! How terrifying, Merk!
I haven't even looked at the news yet today... heard from the radio that things were really bad in places.
got it!
call the prescriber and ask
can you call your doctor and ask? I have a medication I take only when I am really in trouble...
It was bad, but what made it worse was that it struck the hospital and EMT Center in the city.
{{{Merk}}} I am so sorry.
stid, i think the worst was the high school in Alabama where at least a dozen people were killed
oh, how awful . . .
Eight were killed there and that was terrible losing children. Damage wise, it seems worse in Americus.
oh my gosh. I just looked at the CNN site. what a terrible thing!
not to mention the bus of college kids that went off a bridge today 4 died
Americus lost its hospital and every doctors and dentist office, pharmacy in the vacinity, the Salvation Army, southern Baptists regional offices, it was in the center of town.
But what a blessing that nobody in the hospital was hurt!
fireworks . . . and I'm off . . . Hursh, please know that I and everyone else here, we're all sending you mountains of love and wishes for all the best!!
They evacuated the patients to Albany as well as people injured. We heard a "freight train" go over the theater and a sound like the air conditioners being sucked off the roof. It was too close for comfort.
congrats, Uneaixoise
YAY Uneaixoise!
I missed Hursh' news. What's up there?
she is working through the things she needs to do to move on with her life. Signed a lease to discover that a really cool job would be quite a commute from there.

i have a culinary question...what do you like to serve with turkey?

LOL I am now of the age, however, where I can stop counting the years. Just celebrate on my birthday and everything will be fine.
Well, I'll be able to remember THAT b'day, stid!!!
that is cute, feather!
pi 7 was weird ypsi: plural porcine critter + bob *** from ohio who just went to prison...
feather -- the job is nearly finished and it's too late to switch -- he's a nice guy but just a tad disorganised
i don't know this bob....
Oinker + Walt Di****
it means "darling" or porcine eye... (not sure why)
the last three letters are also found
ahh, that stinks jilli
Tor got it! :-)
te 7,36 lengthen the te 4/4 before it with a common 3 letter ending, meaning in progress.
got it, thanks tor
thanks both of you!
I'll be jumping for joy when it's all over, feather!
Ooooohhhhh I thing I am going to wet all over myself!! John Travolta!!!!!!!
so I am going to surf for a while and fold laundry and then pick up a kid from school (the other has math club today), and then ... who knows?
did you finish the grid already stid?
happy surfing and such, stid -- give the kids hugs from me, ok? (And you and Tom can have some too)
AGES ago, feather -- I wasn't sure how my afternoon would flow so I sat down as soon as I got home at 11:30 and grabbed the list.

Hello inge. te plus a vowel, then something you cook in.
te7/32 is the plural.
bbl

yes especailly the babblers were very friendly
hint on 9
going to take a stroll through the internet. BRB
Bye inge - leave your credit card behind, though....
9 is an at; related to at 6/18
eons
*poo*
*POOF*
what does the 8 start with?
Thanks for that at 9 clue :)
It's qu8.
qu8/65
The 8 is qu 8/65
It extends qu5/16
crap....I hate q's
They're mostly normal today.
hello everyone .. I am tired but need a few more and will not give in!! but need help with the last to6/27 please.
to6/27 - ends like a bunch of flowers
A mini to5/16
mo, just go one letter further in the alphabet for the end of the to6.
Vicuna, torgone and Haz thank you all for your help.
How many a6's are there, please?
You're welcome, mo.
There are two a6 words
Aha. Thanks.
Thanks HAz for the Q clue....
That's okay, autumn moon - are you getting them kicked into shape?
I feel foolish, but cannot get the gi5/16 and gi6/27 .... any help would be appreciated please.
I haven't opened lickety yet....hoping I can do it with minimal assistance. Have also been avoiding the chat
still hate Q words - have 8 of them
gi5/16 - alt spelling of alt word for surcoat, so no reason to feel foolish! gi + once u--- a time
No need to feel foolish, they're new words to me as well. gi plus the starting of a fairy story word, minus the u. Then plural
good evening fellow babblers!
Just four more and your q words can become a bad memory.
Good evening Cathyar.
Hello, Cathyar.
Vicuna and Haz thank you for great clues ... got them now.

lol inge...it truly is better the next day!
and what is for dinner tonight???
Haz ... just 2 more ,, an ey4/6 and a so5/14.
well....my son wants chickenburgers
Chop so5/14 - alt spelling
so 5/14 is a sound pigs make
some neighbor friends of mine gave me some lebanese bread! they tell me it's yummy with peanut butter on it! :)
Two of the ey4/6 are anagrams of each other so check them. so5/14 - s a double helping of the vowel, then the beginning of the seeing organ.
Everything's yummy with peanut butter!
might try it...it actually looks like cooked pizza dough
like pita bread or different?
like pita bread but the size of a large pizza!
about an inch thick
evening all - any clues for thesy 7 please
sounds interesting. Peanut butter and nutella is the best.
said yogurt or anything you'd eat bread with is good with it too
hmm...nutella on lebanese bread...may have to try that!!!!
mmmm.... Nutella
sy 7 sounds like the poison
Hello Kazzer - the sy7 is an alternative spelling for an si7 that appears often (a mineral). sy, a vowel, then the American version of the opposite of day.
Peanut butter is alright, but I like strawberry jelly better.
se 6/18 plz

pi7 clue given by torgone -- porker + Wlt Di****
Well so much for that.

te 5/10 & the te 6 after it. The one after the number
kc, you mean swine leg bone didnt work for you?

Alleyn-are you jewish? so am I!
It will - usually if they swallow something innocuous they can be made to be sick - too risky with the sharp points, so it'll have to be operated on.

How old are you guys?
Was it trying to be a hot dog on a stick?
mo -- I had that icon on Tupperware day
This is what husband is discussing with owner at the minute - they could take the risk of letting it pass through, but it could do damage.
Shabbat Shalom to all! In particular those across the pond
i don't think i could ever have the vocal ability to do jazz or blues
need lotsa power for those styles
Haz ... a difficult decision ... hope everything goes well.
Yeah, after I had a cold once, it took me 2 weeks to get my voice working again
I'm sure it will. Dogs swallow the strangest things!
noki -- if you click on the icons you get some info
poor pup... hopefully they will go with surgery
jillibus ... I havent got round to changing it ... too late now!!!
I have two dogs and three cats.
I'm interested to know how they're going to lift an Irish wolfhound onto the table - they're enormous!
just that we picked the same thing, mo!
Haz -- I had Great Danes and they can be lifted! Many are -- think of bloat.
one of the lawyers i work with had a cocker that had a taste for towels...had numerous surgeries...till finally he actually ate an entire bath sheet...had to put him down. :(
Hi all again - any lovely clues for te 7/32 and te 6 and ye 6 please

How on earth did the dog swallow that much at one go? Such a shame.
You're wonderful Haz - thanks for all the clues Its FIREWORKS for me - I am really happy because we have had a horrible day today.

Yes, Grem, a word could be wrong in two ways, it might not be in the grid, and it might not be in the dictionary...
grem...when u get the word right it says "last word added "....." at (time) in green...if you get it wrong...it's tells u it's "not in the dictionary"
this is my first time here. so the ? marks next to my words mean what exactly?
if u click on the ? it gives u the eaning of the word
Welcome Grem :)
oops *meaning* not *eaning*
Oooh neat. Thanks for your help Douglas & Cathyar
thank you Hodag

yeah, that too, though i'm having second thoughts on a litter box for a cat that size
teach it to use the toilet and to flush!

don't twin beds exist any more?
We turned to them in early years after bedding in the double got twisted off the poor freezing victim
There were no queen or king beds in those days.
Later the prodigious snorer got his own bedroom. We could still visit...
hi all
Hello everyone -- just popping in to say hello and to give a few clues if needed :)
I always felt a bit guilty about that but am glad to hear it still happens
Hi nan!
hello again pieano
piano
could use help with de 7,32
hi jilli
hi nan
i have 3 to go, can't get 'em
what are you looking for piano?
ye 6
maddine -- do you have de7/40? Change the last letter
de 7/32: fate -- change last letter of the 7/40
ye6 -- affirmatived
ye 6: affirmed
no
de 7/40: fate -- de + consonant + fork part
man, must've tried every combo 'cept that... thanx
for the 7/32 -- then change last letter for the 7/40
ty ty nan!
how about sy 7?
sy 7: chemical used in paint and pottery glazes: sy+vowel+ not day
let out a big moan + opp day
wow, never woulda got it!
thanx nan
one more... i'm gonna try to get it for a minute or two, then will ask for help...
yw, piano88
How are things on Salt Spring, Jilli -- haven't compared notes for awhile!
it snowed today for a bit, nan, but now it's gone. Wet forecast but warmish -- how's by you?
Nan -- did you meet Grem, a newbie from Vancouver?
supposed to get up to 12 tomorrow -- will be nice if the sun shines and the wind doesn't blow -- still lots of snow on the mountains.
No I haven't -- when does he? she? play?
He/she was on this afternoon and evening -- seemed to be catching on very quickly, got lots of hel from everyone
yay! got the last one (w/o help)... it was the pi 7,48.
no, not hel -- help !!! lol
Hi angel13136
YAY pianokid88!!!
Hi dave -- and everyone else.
Been quiet - trying to get more on my own today.
congrats, piano *~*~!~*~*
hi angel
yay piano
hi angel
HI dave70la and angel13136
hi, all!
hey dr
nan, thanx for helping me to the fireworks. couldn't have done it w/o u!
hi TNC
hello TnC
Made the same mistake the other day, jilli when I left the o off Hello in an e-mail to the editor of our city public services website --- fortunately the lady has a sense of humour!
yw, pianokid
lol nan!
i'm dead, stayed up too late for those last few words. see you all soon! BYE!
C. S. Lewis spelled pi7/48 differently in The Screwtape Letters...
bye piano
night piano
ok doug, I'll bite -- how did CSL spell it and why?
Pleasant dreams, piano...
It was a new word for me Douglas -- don't think much of it as a term of endearment though!
with an ie at the end instead of the spelling in the grid...
Hi all
doesn't make it any more attractive!
Well, hi Woulf! Long time no see!
GW!!!!! -- long time, no see -- how are you doing and how's the family?
too true, jilli -- too much work and not enough sleep these days
It was used as a term of endearment, sort of, as Screwtape was going to get to ingest the incompetent tempter Wormwood...
Thankfully we are all healthy, though I seem to no longer be employed by Lenscrafter's
oh no!!! -- what are you doing now?
how' the little guy? Have you got a new job?
I am going to revel in my free weekends for a bit and then find another second job
LC was just for extra money to help the ends meet
Oops -- second job? What's the first?
good luck --- hope there is as many job opps around your area as there are here --- can't find enough people for the work force, it seems
I work for a company called Enersys which manufactures and repairs forklift batteries
*there are --- don't know what's happened to my English!
Woo! far from LC! What will you look for?
Now the second job I really want to get is at the bookstore -- I used to work for one years ago and the savings on books will definitely help
Um, have you discvered public libraries? Books are free...
I got the job with Enersys specifically to get away from the retail grind at LC
Or better still, start up your own used book store!
Not for me they aren't -- I have a problem with returning books on time -- when I was younger I used to amass fines that almost equaled the cost of the books
nan -- if I had the money saved to fall back on, I would go that route
Closing in, have everything through q, 29 left...
Our library has a maximum fine of $5
Why is it every time I try to get to this grid something comes up?
wtg, Doug --- if you need help, sing out!
gogogo doug
my dream business is to have a shop that deals in games (primarily roleplaying), books and game related music/vids
like what, jade?
for guys only, I guess, woulf
People calling me, texting me, sending me IM's asking for advice that I have no business advising
I just wanna BABBLE!
oh, I see -- so escape here and go deaf
LOL....I wish, Jilli!
Your'e still young GW -- keep the goal in mind and work towards it a bit at a time.
actually, jilli -- there are more and more women getting involved in gaming every day
I did hear something about that, woulf
c-nan -- I intend to -- I would rather be able to say I tried and failed, than say I wanted to and never tried
wtg, woulf
better to have loved and lost, etc
It's a bit late, but Congrats Woulf....
For right now, I will settle for help with my last four words ap6 oa5 so5 to6
I have CNN in the background and I'm SO SICk of the Anna Nicole blather
The owner of the bookstore we patronize started out by buying up books at garage sales, then reselling them at an outdoor market stall all summer. She now has a huge store with books, games, collectors cards, etc. --- also knows all of her clientele's tastes, puts books away for us, manages to remember whatever series we may be into -- don't know how she does it!
greyw, ap6, alternate spelling of ap5. add a vowel.
Me too, Jilli. Try having to be part of the CNN blather that reports it! LOL
ap 6: throw an o into the sleep disorder
oa 6: made of a particular grain
That's easy to explain, c-nan -- she is doing what she loves -- I used to work for Waldenbooks and we had our regulars that we could always recognise
there are 2 to6 words, woulf -- one is the pl of a type of hat (cap), the other chanes the
so 5: word used by hog callers
the other changes the last letter
angel, are you on AIM?
no, just babbling and watching "Monk"
to 6: plural knitted hat (MacKenzie bros.) to 6: change last letter of above
could you?
jade -- are you with CNN?
thank you --- FIREWORDS!!!
YAY woulfie!!!
Not CNN, but with one of the radio stations that uses their services
Hooray for GrayWoulf!
*~*!*~* GW *~*!*~*
wtg woulf!
Have all the s's...
Why hello, Douglas.
WTG WOULF!
wtg doug -- now for a zillion t's?
going to go and brew a cup of tea before the flip -- back in 40 minutes :)
dave -- I'm getting there, hang on
bfn nan
Oh and c-nan -- I am trying to sorta do the same thing as your local bookstore owner when it comes to acquiring gaming stock -- only storage space and money are scarce these days :-D
ty...had chat...but not babble vhat
*chat
jade -- asking again -- do you work for CNN?
dave - do you remember my screen name for AIM?
phdmom28
Good morning all - see on our news some bad storms in the US - hope you are all OK
Not CNN, nan, but with one of the radio stations that uses their services
I mean.....Jilli
geez
And I report it all the time
hi ursh -- I believe the storm did a lot of damage half a block away from merk
The tornadoes, Anna nicole and the Army secretary have been the biggest topics today
poor you, jade!!!
it was the stock market earlier in the week.
jade, were you on here when mark was telling about the storm near him?
not mark, merk
NO! I wasn't!
Is merk ok?
things are fine by me, ursh -- we had some rain earlier, but then the temps jumped up to the 50's -- we may hit the low 60's tomorrow, but then by Tues the high will be 32 again
I am looking forward to taking the kids outside tomorrow
yes, but it was very close -- half a blickm he said. I just got here at the end of the report
blickm? read block, duh
Glad to hear GW - we are having awful hot summer expect temps to go up mid 30's C here today and very high humidity
ursh, I like that kind of temp
ursh -- thanks for clarifying your scale -- I was speaking in Fahrenheit, I always forget that Celsius is more common outside my own territory
:-D
Oooo no jilli - way too hot will look for conversion table to F
We use Celsius in Canada, ursh -- 28C is 82F -- lots of other mnemonics
jilli in Durban we have humidity which they say pushes up our temp discomfort by 9 degrees so today we will suffer somewhere in the low forties
personally I prefer my temps to be around 55-65 F -- just cool enough that you don't sweat too much when you exert yourself, but warm enough that you can sit and watch the world without getting chilly
I believe it, ursh -- ok if you can get into a cooling pool or sea
7 left...what exactly is a te6/21, exactly?
GW -- I'd be very chilly at those temps
something in which one fries teos??!!
LOL ursh!!!
*sigh* sorry jilli, phone caught me again
not sure if I'll finish this one either
's ok, jade!
how many to go, jad?
76
jade
hmmm... that's a lot to do in 26 minutes
yes it is.
I'll keep plugging
gogogo jade!
If only I had more TIME......I would finish everyday
Doug -- when I google it, it comes up as being the name of an island in El Salvador or a town in Mexico
Koo-loo-koo-koo-koo-koo-koo-koo!
What?
Canadians wear these, hence my exclamation...
TE 6/21 IS AN ISLAND LOCATED SMOEWHER NEAR EL SALVADOR?
Jade -- I concur most heartily - I am lucky if I can finish one a week lately
Everyday is an adjective. Every day is a noun (day) modified by and adjective (every). Sorry to be pedantic.
I don't know any Canadians who wear koo-loo-koo-koo-koo-koo-koos
Fireworks...
Too true jilli. Thank you for correcting my English. Missed the space bar.
102 left, darn... that's what happens when an Indian tries to complete this game...
YAY douglas!!!
macca - that is what Wikipedia says, which was the first response when I googled it
Yayyyyy for Douglas
yay douglas
WAY TO GO dOUGLAS!
But that was the beginning of the song "Take Off To The Great White North," by Bob and Doug MacKenzie, and Geddy Lee of Rush on vocals...
31 left. first-timer here. this is insane!
mysticfreak, is that indian as in "Native American," or indian as in "Om?"
Jade -- peope are doing it all the time these days. They also say thank-you, which is a noun, when they mean thank you, verb and object. Drives me batty. Well, battier than usual.
