as well as a David Hicks in8.40, there is also an in8.40 that ends in what you do with a bow or shoelaces
de6?
et 8/50; in 8/40; in 8/45; in 8/40; in 8/40; re 8/50; re 8/40

de6 de + canvas dwelling
de6: first part of imprisonment
thanks lynxxx, had to google david hicks, but i figured it out
thanks BabbleRabble, that gave me my last biggie!
yw
lynxx, can you give me another clue on the non david hicks in8? please...
ty guys
just found detention
detentioned
kanga, starts like the david hicks one, ends with what you do with your laces.
Kanga - starts the same first 5 letteres as the other in8s + a chld must learn how to *** their shoelaces
good text in your profile again, BabbleRabble.
oops. was trying the past tense and getting all confused... thanks fran and lyn.
looks like i need the re8/50
Who's David Hicks? Pardon my ignorance.
put your clothes back on, Fran, past tense
yep, have to save the children
liz, i had to google him, he's being held at guantanamo bay.
AAAH, I see!
thanks sprite!
couldn't agree more, BabbleRabble
Favid H is an Australian who has been held for some years at Guantanamo Bay - without charges being laid (until the last week or so)
I don't need saving >.>
everybody's being cheeky tonight... :-)
heard the call... dinner is ready. see you later all.
in9 has same start and ends in a knot or centering point
kanga said a wo-ord, kanga said a wo-ord!
later kanga!
bye Kanga
hehehe Amiku, but you don't really qualify as a kid anymore now, do you ;)
Well, yes.
For another 2 years
Enjoy your di****, Kanga!

Hi Eeerik

how many points is the in9? i'm being kind of dense
and now only 3
g'morning sprite, amiku, lynxx, fran, and anyone else awake right now
Hey eeerik, what's going on?
60, Fran.
thanks
hello folks
in9.60 ends in a lymph ****
COLHAD _ HI !!!!!!!!!! how are you - very long time no see!
Amiku: di7/32 place to eat, like a small alcove or something. French sounding ending.
hey Colhad
that did it, thanks lynxxx and sprite!
hey colhad!!
hello, Colhad
sprite: no idea
yeh, went off Babble for a while, but hello Fran, Sprite, lynxxx, BabbleRabble
fireworks
that in9 has been in grids before, i'm going to remember it this time
welcome back Colhad - have really missed you!
Congrats, sprite
congrats, sprite
Hooray for Sprite!
well, I'm back doing other word games too
thanks :) Any clues I might offer?
yay sprite!
very good Sprite
not ready yet sprite, although i did appreciate the clues for the biggies.
di6 and 7. the ones that are together
I found an re7/32, to be more alert
di6/21 spanish money di7/32 informal place to eat, same ending as 'no no nan****' di6/21 evening meal
I still don't get the spanish money one D:
amiku, add a vowel to the end of "one who eats"
oh duh
I was thinking about pasetas as opposed to the word for it
Colhad i would love you to clue that re7 again.
me too, i think i'm really dense right now
extend the re 4/5 (enjoy a novel) using the comparative ending
re7/32 more swamp grass like re7/32 more of "are you R***y to go or not?"
i have the swamp grass and i think i have the r***y or not one, to do with walking, but it's the 'more aware' clue that has me stumped.
more alert, sorry.
except, you know, d'oh!!!!
perhaps if you are more alert, you are re7 to act
lol hillary :)
duh, got it, thanks sprite and babrab and colhad
this is bad, it's taking me 3 clues to get one word!
the only other re 7/32 has to do with the wear on tires.. some truckers use tires that have been re-soled, so to speak
at least it helped me get two more 7s! (ne7s)
thanks babrab!
(and my husband works for goodyear!)
do7/32?
yw
Amiku: he who puts on clothes + consonant. Strange word.
thanks sprite!
ty sprite

hi andree!

Ahhh I've been looking for that but in a weird spelling
hi andree

yep
thanks, BabbleRabble! Did you know or did you find it, and if so, where?
I found it at Encarts
cool, i've learned my new thing for the day
Encarta
thanks :) For me too, Fran, it justifies my babbling for today ;)
not a word i will be using anytime soon
I'm gonna go to bed

Goonight all and happy babbling
Congratulations Andree!
good morning everyone. And may I say again that I hate vowels and re's! Nothing else in this grid
good morning eva
le
let's hear it for the Ronnettes
hi eva
hi 6a
Good morning Eva - I've just made it to over 100 words so I'm going to take a break. I don't think the grid is as bad as Sundays. That had me ready for the home for the bewildered, the men in the white coats would have found me a willing patient! See you later.
hi haz.. Made it to 99 on my first run, but 7 8's?!!
i know - hard to believe, but they'll emerge kicking and screaming eventually.
Morning, Eva, Haz, 6a. I'm finding it very tricky today. All those n's and y's.
it's totally foul
On the plus side, the right hand side is easily greyed. Two words and you're there.
help please with the tr4/5
Think tr4/4 and past tense
helen -past tense of stepping
tr4/5 - Niel Armstrong did this on the moon
Yes, the right side is greyed now. Thanks for that tip, Haz.
thanks guys
You need some consolation and encouragement on a grid like this! See you later.
Broken my rules but left hand side is now grey!
Well done, Alleyn. I'm only one square down.
Hello Babble Team. Where is the Babble referee? Today's violation = excessive # of E's on the grid.
hello babble team
hi sc\
And look at those 3 Y's together and the 3 N's together. Yuck, what a grid. How is it finding words?
hi Scrabbler.
Hi Mousey! How are you doing?
hi mousey
morning, y'all. Looks like a yucky puzzle today, eh?
yucky indeed-which isn't in the grid
Hi YoBaby--I just started, but look at those letters.
I just got here too. Yikes!
good sc lol
hi baby
Love your mad March hare Scrabbler
Another screenname, Mousey!! Mr $$$---did you win a lottery recently?
wow we are getting alot of ppeople
And if you did, will you share? :-)
hydra--I have had this icon since Feb 9--green theme day for, I think, Eva's birthday.
no but i did win american chillers colleters book marks
not this Eva, maybe evanadine?
Ooooo. You ARE rolling in riches!
Maybe--it was somebody's birthday
im rich im rich who want 3mil lol
I can't have been babbling the same time as you then, or I would have seen it. LOL
I just looked at the word stats-look at all of the long words!
And no 's'!!!!!!
well richy rich go bye bye
no really
OK, OK, I need to stop whining and move ahead. At least there are only 157 words. Come on, YoBaby, we can do this.
not really
You're killing me, Mousey. :)
Okey doke. <takes a deep breath and refills coffee cup>
be right back
or i should say: brb
I'm bogged down with all the in words. Hi mousey, 'bye, mousey
I didn't even notice "in".
Right side is greyed out--woot woot
the in9 is making me nuts!
YAWWWWWWWWN!!!
Add another vowel to the word before it, Eva. mousey is giving a clue
Oops. That was the 7 and 8! Think I need coffee
Mousey: a different clue for the 9? PLEASE?
LOL, Yo Baby.
wow im giving a clue and i dont know what the word is!
The second in5/10 + the first no4/5
Oh, hush, Scrab. I'm slow, remember? :-)
thanks hydra!!!
Bury, plus bud or nodule
whatever the hell that means!
But he always does his YAWN thing.
TY, hydra--I got it
just need 4 more 8's. OY
sc im always busy and really tired in the end
bury + lymph no** (gland)
there's no internet - does this mean we don't exist?
I GOT THE NINE! Thanks Hydra!!!:-)
Yes, we are in the Matrix--Morpheus said so
I must confess, I had to use wordfiner, Scrabbler. I'm no genius. But I do exist, 6a. I breathe without the help of a computer
HOLY CRAP!!!!
ouch!!!
uhhhl... you OK, Mouse?
Did your dog bite you, Mousey?
I think the Matrix got Mousey
NOO! MY BACK HURTS!!! IT FREAKIN HURTS!!
bye all i cant take it
What did you do while sitting at the computer?
OH no! Rush for the frozen peas
Yes, and Mousey's Mom to the rescue.
Mouse: My seven-year-old son is standing over my shoulder reading the chat log. He's concerned about your back! You OK?
Hi yoBaby's son! Good morning!
Guten MOrgen mousey, is the snow meliting up north too??
Taggart says 'good morning' Scrabbler. He's giggling at the attention he's getting from you!
and hello to all the other bablers
Taggart--cool name!
Taggart thinks 'Scrabbler' is a cool name too!
Are you in first or second grade, Taggart?
Last night we had a "name featherbee's baby boy session"
Guten morgen, Inge.
Ooooo, that's creepy, Scrab.... How'd you know he was in the first grade?
dine
Oh, she's having another boy----woweee! What is the concensus with names?
she liked Timothy and Nicholas, but still wide open to suggestions
If he is 7 then that is where he would be. I am a pediatrician so I know kids' ages and grades.
Duh... i forgot i told you that he's seven! Today's a big day for him -he's getting tested for the Gifted program...
How about Dieter, Klaus, Ulrich, Hans, Wilhelm, Matthias, .....?
Go Taggart! Have fun and don't worry!
we eliminated a whole lot that woudl have led to teasing, like Peter
I love the name Peter--3 in my family--grandfather, cousin, nephew
I have to get ready for work, but I don't want to leave Babble Land!
in any case it was great fun, since dawg kept quoting from some list and we would "evaluate"
Scrabler, babbleland goes with you whereever uyou go. Haven
haven't you ever seen words while shopping or working and wishing yuo could enter them???
I bet it was hilarious, Inge. I got home late from work last night, then I was on the hpone ministering to friends' in distress.
Absolutely, Inge. And today with all of these E's, N's and R's I will be creating words.
I want a B for bonnet.
A's are do**--off I go. See you later today.
Hello Babble Addicts
hey, becca
Hi une, how's the grid today?

there's an in8 in the grid that we are all using in order to do this puzzle, and it's not in the dictionary!
i found that tpp hillary - so annoying!!
actually come to think of it, it's not in the puzzle, just a phantom.
ah - yes - have seen the phantom. :-)
i have many phnatoms today
don't we all. ;-)
and i clearly can't type!!
en7's??
I have one - to go in
thanks wolvie
past tense that and you get a 7
on en7 is the opposite of exited. the other one is similar but ends with the opposite of off.
should have spotted that - doh!
never mind I am clearly not here today
ty wurdy and hillary
thanks hillary
I say thanks wurdy, because we all need help today. :-)

Hi. Not using a list but it's probably in8/40 (one who is in8/45).
hi jac
in 8/40 is the person (usually a college student) who works for free to gain experience, add double vowel ending
Have that one Jac. Thanks tho'
Hi Jacula and thanks

second in 8: Latin among + to bind together
in 9: Latin among + lymph ****
I have all the i's - but thanks! :-)
that was for movieman
ty inge
oh. ah. sorry
Good morning all - back to get the last words.
hi haz
Hello, Haz.:-)
Hello Wolvie and Jacula - strange collection of letters, isn't it?
very.
good morning!
It's not too bad, Haz.
A tiresome collection of repeating letters, if you ask me ;-)
hi inge2
hey wolvie
many phantoms
actually only 9 letters.
erm. 10. forgot the J. it is a pain though
yeah - I am missing one j. le sigh
I am missing two. Maybe if we put our heads together? I have 3 j words with double crosses in the middle
mornin babblers!
top left corner e plz
hi, e
hi evan
There are four je words of that description.
dont forget the Hawaian goose!!
sounds like to bring someone up on charges mm
One includes a doubtful comparative of the je5/24
Good morning evanadine.
hawaii goose?
ty wolvie
have that one Haz, but thanks for the 4 clue
I have je 4/10, 4/9 x 2, je 6/36, je 7/52, je7/48, and je 5/24
There's a strange je6/36 which incorporates a water loving plant
that must be the je I'm missing. my je 6 is normal
the goose made of just two letters, wolvie
oh - the ne word. ty
me too, Haz
that weird je word is a Middle Eastern javelin!!
:-) but no volcano, despite all the e, t and ns
ty haz - that was indEEd it. :-)
hi ata
still trying to get it
je plus re 4
well folks, I must be off - bbl - 40 left. :-)
hi all and thanks for the J clues 8-)
tx, wolvie, got it finally
Bye Wolvie.
See you, Wolvie.
bye, wolvie, have a great day
je6/36 is a wooden javelin.
hey i'm gettin' good at this. just found me an 8!
another clue for the weird je pls
je plus a sound alike word for what you do to a book
what is it between
I've just got back from dog walking. Managed a miracle. Took Hobbit through a dog reserve, off lead, without her running off and bird chasing!
It comes between je4/9 - to mock, and je4/0 to leap in balletic fashion
je4/9 is the balletic leap...
still have 67 to go.\HATE THIS
je + re4 (long, tall, stiff grass that usually grows in marshes or ditches)
It's not too bad, Alleyn. keep telling yourself that..
clues for the left side o plz
od4/5 - the poem collects a vowel at the end
I only have the latin plural of theater, mm
or5/12 - o plus what you do to a book
ty haz
tx Haz, that was driving me nuts
You're welcome.
who let the re's out of the stable!!!
Someone who forgot to re4/5 the padlock.
seriously, inge. I'm like Lori... i hate 'em
most annoying -- doesn't take tene or tenne. perfectly good archaic words!
I agree!
what does the 9 start with?
in9/60 -
in9/60
15 to go and I'm going to take a break; I've got words dancing before my eyes.
See you later, Jacula.
hi everybody
Hello Buttonman.
hi HAZ
ty, now to find it!
Haz, I am having trouble finding the di 6
well, i think ive just read the saddest announcement ever, in our caf at work
di6 is what you eat at nite
oops, said a word . . . sorry :-)
di6 can be either what you eat, or spanish money, adding a vowel at the end of the di5, the one who eats.
Alternatively the di6/21 - may be so keen on losing weight that he or she doesn't eat at all....
got the what you eat di 6, it is the one before that I need
what evan??
didn't have that one--thanks, haz!
in9 - detain a poem without trial
our caf already has a sandwich station and a pre-made hot food station. they also have a station in the middle for specials like "pasta bar" and "omelette bar" where they make food as you wait, the way you order it. well, theres a note up there that says that that station will be out of service until further notice because of "food smells migrating outside of the cafeteria." so all i can guess is that someone complained that *SHOCK* you can smell food near the caf!
there are three di 6's...I have the two you both mentioned....it is the one inbetween, just before the 7
oh *duh* ty haz, I should have got that!
NO!! oh ... wow ...
great clue, haz LOL
Then it's the money one, add a vowel to the end of the person eating the di6
thanks Haz, got it
You're welcome.
Well, blow me down with a feather! You can smell FOOD near the cafe? Gosh! (I bet it was a struggling di6/21 who complained. LOL)
Evanadine - it's like people moving to the country and then complaining about country smells and noises. They've had council officials out measuring the noise of a rooster on the Richter scale....
so now, no more freshly-made hot foods until they can somehow find a way to keep all smells INSIDE the caf.
Just find out who complained and stick cotton wool up their nose.
ROFLOL, Haz.
good morning
i'll bet the complainer is someone on a di4/5
ive just never heard such a lame excuse before...
morning, mom :-)
I knew someone who went on a caravan holiday on a farm. She left the day after arriving, complaining that the air smelled of animals and there was sheep poo in the field. She coudn't understand what I found to amusing when she told me.
Haven't they trained sheep to use toilets in England?
It was Wales, Haz. No, it appears Welsh sheep are not potty-trained.*grins*
Morning all!
hey, judi
Hi momof3 and Judi.
and it begins...lol...isn't a denter, someone who dents??? :)
Ah, that explains it. Ewerinals haven't made it to Wales then.
Would a toilet for sheep be called a "loow"?
HAZ! LOL
*groan!*
*rolls eyes* terrible, haz. just terrible!!
ouch haz..that one hurt
Judi, don't you mean a 'lewe'?
Sorry - so a baatrine wouldn't go down well either?
rent
oops..sorry
Thank goodness there's limited material for sheep jokes.
No need to make a dRAMa of it! *ducks* I'm off now. BBL.
tomato toss at jac
You're talking to a vet's wife here - there's an endless supply of sheep jokes.
i bet they feel sheepish that theyre so uncivilized...
why did the ram fall over the cliff? did not see the ewe turn
you guys have me at a disadvantage..i am from ny.. not many sheep here kids!
Jacula's taken it on the lamb.
I once came across someone who complained there was seaweed on a beach ...
mom -- im in DC, im sure ewe can manage. ;)
kids? we moving onto goats?
But no-one appreciates them, so I'll go and do the ironing instead...... Bye!
i could...but i won't..you guys are killing me!
Why, Atalnte? Did someone call Nanny 9-1-1?
how many words this grid?
157
157 mom
ty
looool judi
isn't inne a word??? as in, a motel....i know it is spelled without the e...but isn't it with the e as well?
dronette, a small drone? Nawww.......
a word
i would give it to you gwen
we Ei5/12 better get back into the grid, or else we will be making wisecracks all day!
the right-hand column seems to be asking the big question . . . Y Y Y ?? LOL
hints for the E or 2 O's in the first column?
o5 = o + what you do with a book!
don't have e or o..sorry evan
ty gwen
ot5/10. Aquatic weasel.
od4 = a poem + a vowel
the first E is a 6 that sounds like to bring charges against
thanks gwen -- got em all. :)
the ot5 is from the other O
got those o's..ty girls!
missed the charges clue though
8-D
the 9 is in9, right?
en6 = en + di4
evan, yup
what was the hint someone gave earlier?
i must not have the di4 youare referring to gwen.
mom -- swap the last 2 letters round on your losing weight Di4
switch the last two letters of the eating regime mom
in 9 -- add ***m of endearment and a battery terminal: a****
aah..that did it...didn't have the losing weight thing !!! lol
boy i just cannot spell today
must be blocking it out subconsciously....!!! lol
thanks BRabble!
battery terminal???
yw
Losing weight? What's that? How is that possible? My inquiring thighs want to know.
so that's what a a**** is (thanks for that clue, finally found that pesky 9)
ok..i seriously must get ready for school...
mine too!
judi -- its a rumor ive heard of. yet to experience it myself!
good luck all.....bbl
mom, forget the battery terminal and use this lymph ****
i got it gwen..ty....i figured it out..i tend to read the clues, and not look at the grid...once i look at the grid and follow the clues together..i see it LOL
ok..later.
frankly i don't see where this puzzle gets off using big silly words like in9 anyway!!! LOL
I used to lose weight. And then I turned 40. Now I am a magnet for fat globules.
happened to me way before 40!
g'mornin

dO 7: German word for thunder + cons

Didn't I just type in all these words a couple of days ago?
that second do 6 has nothing to do with clothes! a set of artistic principles
second do6? interesting.
godthaab, my memory doesnt go back taht far!!!!
do 4 -- completed do 5 -- recipient of a gift do 5 -- poet do 7 -- put on; wore do 6 -- the one who wore do 7 --- the poet and Bill of *igh*s
i'm confused... isn't put on, wore, do6?
any clues for de 6/21?
yes, ok, i get it now, found the other do6.
should be: do 6 -- put on; wore
i'm confused too hurshy
hot ham water... what the heck is that?
well, if we're taking screen names literally...
for starters, it's delicious. it's water, but with a smack of ham!
lol
so featherbottom... do you have the de 6/21 yet?
de 6 -- add to be a crime there the act must be with in****
I am only on the 3rd row... work is a pain today
good afternoon all! these re words are very weird....
I found the grid to be quite straight forward and in the cruise range
i don't think it's so bad but i'm having trouble with i's
wtg BABle!
thanks babble
most of the i's all build up from just two words...
in7, 28 and in 8/40
you asking for a clue alleyn?
a body at rest tends to stay at rest; latin plural
i can't get intent, indent, indeed...
have the uni ones
oh thanks brabble
one on way to being a full-fledged doctor
4 along that line
4?? ok
but of course
ok got those
what's this vaunted 9 i heard tell of when i got on?
in 9 -- add ***m of endearment and lymph ****
hurshy -- in6/18 (summer college worker) + poem
add a poem to the one on way to being doctor
ahhh. i was adding lotsa fours to it, but not the right one, naturally.
in 8 --- add ***m of endearment and a cravat
my my, aren't we inter-esting today, mr. grid
ok down to the last 2 and they are driving me crazy. they are both 8s. they are re8/40 and the last in8/40. can anyone help?
i think brabble just did with the in :)
just clued the last in 8
tks babble... anyone got the re8?
i'm sure brabble is typing up a clue this very moment.
re 8/40 --- add a fork prong and a question to the queue: who's **xt
double the last two letters on the 6/18 hilary
any lcue on the re 7/32 - the last one?
now THAT is a weird word.
to walk the same ground over again, conX
THANK YOU Babble... fireworks at last!
congrats hillary
the re7/32 is to walk over again
congrats hilary
yay hillary!
any clues?
re 8/50 --- add the act of putting on togs
thnx hilary! I see it nOw!
not getting the RE8/40 clue...
22 left - all t's!!
clue tense is wrong; should be past tense for the re 8/50
re 8/40 --- wizard of ox, metal man: *** + cowboy that rode Champion and sang about rudoph: g*** autry
evana the re6/40 is like the re6/18 just before it, add '**ver say die'.
re 8/40 re + (drinks)can + last 3 letters of the goose word
i need two j's...
thanks BRabble -- those clues are something to work out! *whew!*
middle eastern javelin, je6/39
how many j's are there
je 6 -- add movie critic
there's 4 with double cross letter hurshy
je6/36 even!
8 j's
et 6 and 8 please
yes, i have four with double t
je 4 --- add talking horse mr **
brabble once again places his finger unerringly on the pulse of WHIM... ata, i don't know middle eastern javelins, though i'm sure that's it. i suppose i should google it
it will be
the same
always button
et 8 --- forever et 6 -- poetic forever
what will be the same? google no help.
the javelin and br's clue
but brabble's was a four, and yours was a 6
oh, he gave another clue too
je 6 -- add movie critic
ohhh i missed that one
je + re4/5
Hurshy, hi, what ever happened? Did you speak to your old friend?
well i don't get how that is a movie critic, but i got it. only ones i know are siskel, ebert, and roeper.

rex
I dont know either, hurshy, but I'm only a Brit
Oh, I'm really sorry. I tried.
rex re**, that is
it's the re** that goes with an oboe.
it's ok msilver - those were the same ones i'd found anyway...
if people insist on being difficult to find, what can you do?
there, now i get it....thanks

more job question: i submitted a resume sunday to a small local company - how long before i figure they aren't interested, if they don't reply?
2 weeks and 3 days

the hiring person might be on holiday
if its a small company and there's only 1 person in charge of that stuff, they could easily be away for 2 weeks

Lol T-Owl, i'm more a feather kinda guy, not the whole chicken X D
So we're all clear, girls and boys? Babs will be awol and theme log will be a bit out of date in April?
in 7/28: lack of motion
ty haz
She doesn't look like herself in that photo, Movieman. She has the most glorious speaking voice, though.
she was only 22-23 years old in that film......
hmmm, I remember a whole chicken being used...
it's gonna be tough, babbler... no cybercafe near you?
Babs, you're going to go nuts while your broadband is on the fritz : /
She looks older there than she does now!
Nah, I won't! I shall meditate and think calming things! LOL

Are you having a relapse or just feeling the effects of lack of sedation?
thanks for that Haz -- my normal state of being, actually!
You're welcome, pabtrek.
hope so, stid. Although I fully expect teething problems at first. I should be back after 18th April, but who knows with these people... : /
I don't understand Babbler's problem --- in our area if one server goes down you just switch to another
Interesting trivia about Ms. Lumley....... Users of AOL in the United Kingdom are familiar with Joanna Lumley's voice as she recorded the greeting "Welcome to AOL" for that company and it is the first thing that a user hears when logging on to AOL.
anyone know the first in8/40?
haz work is crap today
in8/40 is the latin plural of the unmoving in7
cyber, the new provider is not accepting the MAC (migration codes) from my current provider. So I have to cancel everything, clear the lines, then start from scratch with the new guys.
as opposed to every other day of course ; )ii spent over two hours straight on the phone
Babs, Lola's Virgin deal was sorted out in a morning, including hardware, hook-ups etc : )
that's cool, movieman!
ok thanks
I hope there's not a missing apostrophe and s in that sentence, TO, or I might be offended. Keep smiling through....
how long will you be down Babbler?
I can't get Virgin/NTL in my area as there are no cables, Anj. (plus I'd never go back to NTL anyway, *shudder*) :/
haz ???
They say 5 days, cyber, but online customer reviews say different.
not with it
No cables?? *splutters* That's not very Branson....
Well, Branson has snuggled up with a dicky company, Anj.
That's terrible! -- think I'd look for a new serice provider!
Sorry TO - your sentence read - haz work is crap today. I was sincerely hoping you didn't mean to say haz's work is crap today.....
They're all the same, cyber. In the UK anyway.
LOL good heavens no LOL
That's a relief - we're singing from the same hymn sheet again.
good afternoon everyone ... I was cleaning and got sidetracked by a phone which lead me to the computer which has now lead me to here. The infamous babble magnet strikes again
we all know who is higher in the rankings X D
I don't know how anyone in business mangages with that kind of service.
phone call*
Well, I wasn't going to mention the rankings....
exactly, cyber. I have family who run their own businesses and they often end up going ballistic down the phone at the service providers.
anyone have the in 6/18?
a likely story .....
in 6/18: newby doc at the hospital
in6/18 - either detain without trial or a medic almost fit to practise.
i'll bet i'm at least at 1,008 today LOL
there are so many phantoms today it's irritating
what is the O from the top right please?
It could be so much worse, TO- you'll get back on top again.
TO, you don't look a day over 765!
guess I should quit chatting and get into the grid!

The second ne7/32 - comparative of the ne4/5 if it were an adjective.

one of santa's reindeer, jean
It's also the name of a reindeer to accompany Blitzen.....
Afternoon all................

Good afternoonc,caitlyn

hiya, caitlyn!!!!!!! Shall we finish off the beluga or shall we have some smoked salmon and nibbly things?
smoked salmon for me please mm
smoked salmon and nibblies for me. are we having a party?
it seems a bit unfair to give clues...
smoked salmon for meee!
Hey, they're good Eva. That's a great idea for the bf : )
hello mask and mirror. are you new?
yes, I just joined today
mask and mirror - it's easy to avoid clues, just switch off the chat log.
welcome mask_and_mirror
ahh, hes still conscious! thanky anj. :)
oh, Welcome to Babble! : )
Hello mask and mirror from Wales
thanks!
first re7/32 please
Hi Mask...welcome to the Babbleverse : )
Patsy: The last mosquito that bit me had to book into the Betty Ford Clinic.
how did you know i was from wales?
re7/32 - being more prepared than another
oh, i see
We don't give words away, mask and mirror, but we just kind of nudge each other in the right direction, without spoiling it for everyone else, if that makes sense.
mask_and_minor...you can elect not to look at the clues in the chatterbook. For me, the clues are needed at this time. Manybe someday I can fiture them all out on my own. Anyway, welcome. You have joined a group of some of the nicest people I have met!
I didnt mask and mirror...I am!!
ah, we both are then! this seems like a good site
Yes, ddb4nana speaks the truth. This is the nicest site on the planet. : )

ty haz
except Haz. who never asks for clues cos she's too busy helping everyone else!
You're welcome GK.
Its a brilliant site ...you seem to have joined on a party day
Yes, I'm the official saint around here.
And Anj, who eats dictionaries and knows everything.
Sun is shining...great day for a picnic party!
And Sprite! Everyone's hero!
ah well, i suppose the clues don't matter, since it is so hard to get every word. lots of people here!
just rejoining the party with 41 left
St Hazel the Cluer
ahh yes the sun it is almost 80 here! nice change from the cold weather
...I may nibble a Thesaurus occasionally...
It has a certain ring....
hi Alleyn : )
See, I knew it, Anj! : )

Atalante - evanonut doesn't know about Imran - she really should be educated. Do you have your picture handy?
Thanks again Haz, I should have gotten that one, it has appeared many times before

hi ursh
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) is a state-of-the-art cancer centre located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is a project of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, which is a charitable organization established under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of Pakistan. The institution is the brainchild of Pakistani cricket superstar, Imran Khan. The inspiration came after the death of his mother, Mrs. Shaukat Khanum, from cancer.

Dispatch
Smith is back on.. back soon
loriP.. use the tire again
back to find those last pesky 14!
the re's and the in's had my eyes bugging out after the flip last night!
down to 50, can't take it anymore, bbl
yes, dorens !!!! that's exactly it!!! i just keep seeing the same stoopid letters & combos
LOL Dorens, that took me an uncomfotable paus, 'til the bulb came on. Thank ye muchly!
sorry, i meant thta for dispatch (see what i mean) also, good clue for the re- dorens
sometimes it does feell ike that helen
oooh, d- you are almost in the grid!
Bye bye re's!!!!
actually i really am... cause that is my name. the s is my middle initial (real imaginative, aren't i?)
good for you loriP. am still missing two of them
Can I return the favor Dorens? What do you need?
i'm done with the r's...dorens, do you need a clue?
lol - is that your first name?
do7/32 please anyone?
yes it is... weird name, but what can you do? strange parents.
i've never heard that before
lori.. how about the second re 6.21?
re + what ****ors do to books and op ed pieces
ah - same here, rare name, but at least there are a couple of old opera singers with that name - not like any of my grammar school classmates knew that!
i need the first ne 6.21 too... it eludes me... anyone have a good clue for that?
we did learn about her in music though tebaldi?
en 7/28 and et 6/18 any clues?
thanks loriP... that was it.
yvw
doren - must have been fun growing up,huh? nice, i like having an unusual name - you always know when someone's talking to you
en 7/28 en 5/10 + past tense
LOL - excellent dorens!! yep, that's my name!
majmom: et6/18: et + bird
oh i hated it,, helen... dont' know which i hated more. the weird name or the red hair... either way i was an outsider in my eyes (and my parents were atheists too)
there was also a scotto - me, of course, tone deaf, people run the other way when i sing
mom, that's the en 7/30. the en 7/28 is the en 5/10 + opposite of off
dorens - did they send you to catholic school?
mom...is there a different spelling for another past tense? the past i have is the 7/32
with a name like that, you are supposed to be a singer, helen.
no. i was jewish. a jewish atheist.
thank you redshoes!
Redshoes, you are so right. My word list is running together on me. Thank you for pointing that out. Sorry Majmom, for the wrong clue
do7/32 please?
no prob. This grid has got me today!
in the 5th grade the nun was saying how all good catholic parents name their kids after saints, & the kid behind me (john!) says - well, i never heard of saint r! so the entire class turns to look at me - like i'm going to have some kind of explanation!
hahahaha - jewish atheist - good one!
Cathyar, One of Santa's reindeer with a cons. on the end
oh kids are so cruel (and here I am today an elementary/middle school guidance counselor.. dealing with some of the same stuff)
Jewish Atheist... reminds me of the movie "Saved!" love that movie.
ty redshoes
ty Mom!
don't think i know it.... will look for it on netflix redshoes... if jewish atheist reminds you of it, it must be good. who's in it?
you're welcome Cathyar
boy - did i ever yell at my parents when i got home - so who is this saint? is there even a saint? what do you mean you don't know? i remember the fit like it was yesterday, LOL, of course, then i sure wasn't laughing!
Hi Lizzy, how many hav u got?
how old were you, do you remember?
it was a movie Michael Stipe, from REM, made. It's set at a Christian School & Mandy Moore plays this uber-Christian. It's hilarious.
Definitely a satire on the over-zealous of the world.
5th grade, so 9 or 10?
i will love it, thanks for the mention
can anyone clue the first in6/21 please?
oh 5th grade is so oversensitive.... worst time for something like that to happen. glad you got over it though, helen
no prob. I'm even a Christian and I love it. =)
oh, i've seen clips from that movie - always wanted to see it - think i will put it on my netflix queue, THX!
Hi everyone! Hey Helen, I just found out my pirate name is Captain Charity Kidd? Snapping turtle said that sounds like a nice pirate. Is that good or bad?
in + de4/5 dispatch
thank you cath!
yw :) en6/21 anyone?
sorry, no Cathyar
Hi 1moregame
Hello everybody. Sweet grid?
hi gramma!
haha 1moregame - a pirate named charity -hmmmm, the word oxymoron comes to mind, lol
Hi Gramma, I don't think so
hi, hi!
en + di4
en 6/21 sounds like domething they do in court
maybe bittersweet, gramma
1st phantom word entity
Actually I was joust popping in. Have to go now. See you later this evening!
en6/21 en+anag of food deprivation (!)
ty dorens
Hi everybody, all done but ready to help.
first ne 6/21 please?
bittersweet is the name of our farm
i think nice pirates get their butts kicked, but you may want to check with our resident experts ren & nut ;)
then you're right at home, gramma
put 'saved' in my queue, they also thought i would like 'dangerous lives of alterboys' LOL
dorens: not ignoring you...but i'm looking for that one too!
en6/21 please
What are these pirate names you guys are chatting about?
arrrrgh, my pirate name is captain jenny flint (jenny also sounds like a pushover pirate to me, but the flint part kinda balances it out)
the only ne6/21 i have is the past tense of the thing u catch fish in
gramma - www.piratequiz.com
found the en6
there's a brief questionnaire, & you will learn your pirate name - actually, i think it's a pretty darned good little personality test (i did alot of psych test validation work in a previous life)
put "saved " in my queue and they are recommending "but I'm a cheerleader"
en6/21 finish + low cal
lol - dorens, we must have different rating histories
hehehehe... sorry, dorens. probably because it has mandy moore. but i promise it's funny.
i gotta run, be back soon, i hope
te6/21 please
i put it on the top of the queue, am sure it is funny... later helen
Bye Helen
I am Dirty Prudentilla Flint, but, really, I follow good hygiene.
hah dispatch, another one we are both looking for!
dirty prudentilla.... i don't think so!
ok... 36 left, but I'm done for the day. favorite word of the day (and I found it all by myself!) is in7/28-- having to do with motion in science. later kids!
i actually need the 6/21 and the 6/18 after it too!
Bye Bye Redshoes
The second time I took the test I was Captain Anne Flint.
of course dispatch. me too. and i''m down to 10
cya redshoes
captain anne sounds more like y ou
bye redshoes
5 here! lol
I guess the result changed with my mood.
The te 6/18 I have is the te**** totter
the last in8/40 please?
Not working from a list, so I don't know if that will help or not
thanks mom,. but have that one.
thanks mom...but that's the first 6/18. I'm looking for the 2nd 6/18. its the first 6/18 after the canvas camping house
ok, didn't figure it would hurt to clue
Oh my, that pirate quiz was funny. The best part is my pirate name, Mad Mary Kidd. My children and their friends and our friends call me Mad Mary.
Just taken the pirate test - I seem to have become 'Dirty Grace Rackham'
i also need both iin 8/40's cath
is there another in 8/40 after the in 8/40 being in 7/28 + a vowel
So neither of us bathe, Frances. LOL
Dorens, answered my question. There is the clue for an in 8/40
Frances, I love it!
there are 3 in8/40's
i'm looking for the last in8/40
the one after the double-vowel ending
in8/40 bury your neckwear
Oh geez Dispatch.
in8/40 same prefix as the other 8/40 + what you wear around your neck
cath: start with the first 5 letters of the 9 + knot
ty frances
and dispatch
Back to the grid....oh wait....is that a cocktail I hear calling?
You're welcome Cathy
Thanks Dispatch
yw
mom...that should be the one you are looking for too
oh...you did get it! lol
it was, thanks
still need one more in 8/40 if there are 3
in7/28 with the latin plural ending mom
that's the one that mean's not moving
then the other one you need is the one who in6/18: such as a doctor
I have that one as well, Cathyar
ends in same double vowel mom
I have the in 6/18 past tense for 8/45 is that the other one?
oh...sorry...in7/28 with double vowel ending...the student doctor
I feel sooooo dumb.
Hi everyone!
8/40 medical student + ee
Hi SMDNJV
Thank you Carlir
yw
I swear, that was like pulling hen's teeth. Thank you all for the clues.
Has anyone been watching Smith with Ray Liotta, very good, only 2nd episode over here
Hi Mom! Looks like a devil of a grid!
I am not appreciating it, that is for sure!
I have a few but I have dug like the devil to get them.
back from phone call.... wasn't seeing clues.--down to 5 - dispatch did you find that ne yet?
I am at 99 and when I get to 100, that is it for me.
Hey Carlir.....I see you are my neighbor sort of!
SMD--gird your loins, matey, this is a toughie and will make you a better pirate!
Hi SMDNJV
hi smd... yes, some of these are tough indeedy
Oh Scrabbler I am in trouble then....I am a real softy!!
Hi dorens
There is my 100th word and I am out of here. Thanks you all for the help. Good night.
finished finally, what a HARD GRID to complete
Oh, no, SMD, Babble is NOT for wimps. So, get tough! No pain, no gain!
Congrats and roses to Ren8
yay ren8!
Night all and good luck, cause your going to need it
Night Ren
I am working on the pain....it has taken me forever to get 49 words.
nite Ren
Yippppeeee Ren!
17 month old g'daughter is in the hospital. Her temp spiked at 105 yesterday....I have been with her all day
still looking for the te 6/21... anyone? please?
Any results--urinalysis, white blood count?
Some babies and to
oh sorry smd.... that is far more difficult than this grid
fever just means infection
te6/21 te + musical notes
...maybe Roseola---high fever for a few days, then fever disappears and generalized rash appears--not serious, but can't be diagnosed until rash appears
Urinalysis showed dehydrated..nothing else...white blood count elevated...blood sugar 57.
Vomiting? Diarrhea? rash?
It really is hard Dorens when a little one is sick.
hi
She can't tell you how she feels, and she doesn't know why she has to drink
te + a drop of golden sun + female deer, think sound of music, Dorens
she is so dehydrated that they could not even start an IV....couldnt get it in the vein. She has been vomiting, refusing to eat...no diarrhea...but lots of gas!!
Hi Jodeen
i know smd... i remember when my son was hospitalized for a few days --three months old (thirty two years ago and i remember it like it was yesterday)
Hi Jodeen
re8/50 anyone?
hello folks!
They can place a tube down her nose into her stomach and give Pedialyte that way
thanks carlir... not getting it yet, but i'm sure i will
what a time SMD...so sorry :(
SMD--do you know that I am a pediatrician?
re + put on again
The re 5/12 Cathy, put on again
ty loriP
Do now Scrabbler...just looked...thouht you were a XC skiier and rabbit lover!!! lol
Sort of in and out this eve. SM, hope things improve quickly with your grandbaby. Good thoughts!
got it carlir.thanks
Sorry, I was asking you questions and telling you stuff, but you were probably wondering WHY??
yw
When this baby's dad was three..he was hospitalized because they thought he had leukemia....turned out to be very bad case of infectious mono....worst time of my life.
Acute mono is a mimicker
First re5,12?
No Scrabbler. I appreciate the questions...makes me wonder if we told the Pediatricial everything? Thx for asking and keep it coming!!
got any clues
re + ***l the telephone
good one lorip...i was thinking how to clue that
Fever is just the way the body fights infection. More important is what are the other signs and symptoms. Must rule out UTI or serious infection first, but it may just be viral. Any cough?
TY Queen Nova Scotia!
Just a slight cough! and oddly enough...she wants to play!
nova scotia? where's the queen of my fair province?
good that she wants to play smd
Oh, then that is huge! If she is smiling and playful then that is very reassuring!
te 6/21 please? please? (last word and I'm tired of this grid)
Lori is thy Queen
Sorry for your trouble, SMD--hope things will be on the upswing soon. Know how helpless you must feel right now.
*bows low before the fair queen*
I am missing that one too, Doren. 15 to go
yes it is good Dorens....just that every time she settles down some....some one is coming in and trying to start that darn IV again.
ok queen lori... te 6/21??????
ooh...the queen :)
Is she drinking any fluids?
I'd better go change then :)
We are not worthy, Lori, to be in your presence.
my son looked so terrible... they tried to start the iv over and over again....ended up doing it iinto his scalp... (and his father was a resident at the hospital at the time)
I know she needs the IV but I sure wish she was more hydrated where they can hit the vein.
re6/21 pls? the one after the re7/32 that is
An NG tube can be used instead of poking her--is just as effective as an IV!
I thought you got it before Dorens
check the book again cath
She is eating ice chips when I left. Mom just called and said she is now eating Yogurt. Yayyyyy!!!
Scalp veins are great--for hospital staff to use--but the parents freak out
oh, you're rifht carlir... i'm needing the te 6/18 after it!
Keep her drinking frequent (every 10 min) sips (1-2 tsp) of Pedialyte
oh yes, i did freak out too scrabbler... but there was no choice and i was so tired of hearing him scream ... couldn't find a hall far enough to walk down and escape the sound. you know
re 6/21 re + recheck a document
I remember my niece having an IV inserted in her soft spot. I thought how neat and out of the way!!
Dorens te6/21 te + re4/5 (repeat)
thanks frances.... turns out i need the word after that
re +re4/5 doesn't work dorens
no.. cath.. i said check the book again!
She will not drink Pedialyte or soft drink...just wants ice chips. But maybe since she has started with the yogurt, the worst may be over.
i got my fireworks!
ok...i'll keep lookin...congrats dorens!
Yahoooo Doren!
congrats Dorens.....wtg!!
congrat Dorens
well done dorens!
hey scrab - have I told you lately that I love you?
re + (e4/5. check the book) cathyar
Or try diluted Gatorade--sips--even use a syringe and squirt it in her mouth
Ahhhhhhh!! I hear music starting!!
Oh, TNC, why?
tks dorens...got it now
I just love the fact that you are so willing to help us out here with kid stuff when you don't have to - you rock!
popsicles!!
Jello!
wouldn't popsicles help ?
how many left scrabble? (will stay to see you finish)
Well, I have some knowledge and experience to help, so I am glad!
No....she would not have a popsicle either. She will not eat jello...I dont think she likes the way it feels in her mouth!
14 Doren--I need an RE-antidote pill!
ooh....poor little thing :(
yes, well, a lot of people wouldn't and that makes you special ;)
want clues?
Slushies--put Gatorade or Pedialyte in.
Doren--you don't have to stay--I will muddle through, as i don't want to rush on your account
But TY for the offer, Doren!! :)
hi all, on this subject -sick kids (I just came in) a Dr. 30+ years ago told me to give my daughter unjelled jello and it worked! just a thot
They brought in something like a pedialyte slush at lunch. she ate several bites of that then pushed away.....but she did eat some of it. Every little bite helps.
Sure, that works too.
ok.. well enjoy your muddling, scrabbler. and good night all...
our ped has told us jello water, too
nite dorens
i'm only here a little longer...american idol comes on soon
Nite Dorens.....
goodnight dorens :)
go figure with 11 left
Toddlers are little unsocialized beasts, and even when they are well they are challenging, then an illness makes it even tougher
My sons were raised on Jello water...I gave that to them instead of juice at times.....
ne6,21
Bye Dorens. cathyar I am here and watch Idol only l9ongdisntance (hybby has TV on in lIving room)
And the only juice that will not cause diarrhea = white grape juice
interesting - this Dr. in Newport Beach CA is the only one who ever told me that, makes sense tho
oh scrabbler, what perfect words to come here to see! lmao! toddlers ARE little beasts sometimes! daniel even growls to prove it!
lol...i get too engrossed in babble and miss the show if i multitask like that inge.
2 ne 6, 21's, RMB
wow this is a great learning experience too!! love it
Jaime does love white grape juice. I wondered why it did not cause diarrhea like the other juices!! Now I know!!!!!!
there are 2 ne 6/21: first one is ne + **quisition + Freudiean self
although, daniel's been doing very well lately learning manners and to not scream so much
the first one
i still need three re6/18 and the re8/40
smd, is she ok????
featherbee--I heard that you will be having another boy, and that there was a naming contest last night
second one is what you catch fish with, double cons. and pat tense
feather is right, toddlers are beasts, mine growls, too!
Gte Harvey Karp's book--Happiest Toddler on the Block
She is still running lower temp but she is up and walking around!
yes, it was very interesting! especially nut's contributions
feather! a boy! congrats!
oh good smd! so glad to hear that.
good news SMD
thanks kristin!
are you going to find out?
Very encouraging, SMD.
I love Karp's books, the five s's saved our butts in the beginning with Crackers
have it already scrabbler, got it for daniel.
re 8/40: re + force pronge + **gative
I love his books--glad you have them!!
he had to be wrapped up tight, we safety pinned him into his swaddle!
I wrote that book title down scrabs...will check amazon for it in a while
yes, we will...our appointments are timed a little different this time though...big ultrasound is most likely late next week. I will schedule it on Monday
yep, we have the babies one and the toddlers one. that and the no-cry sleep solution are very good resources
thanks for that re8 inge!
tfeather - have you read the no cry solution for toddlers, or for potty training?
we have all of them, and they have all helped in one way or another.
the first re7,32
for potty training? darn it, and i was just at barnes and noble! we do have both no cries, for babies and toddlers. didn't know about the other
never mind
Is that Marc Weissbluth's book--about sleep? I forget his title
re 7: swamp plant , more of it
RMB--did you get the ne6's?
what's force pronge?
no, that's healthy sleep habits happy child i think...
I'd offer to send it to you, but we still need it for Crackers, but it really helped with Tea - she was very resistant! Scrab sent me some links, too that helped a ton - how old is Daniel?
has some good ideas, but i like the no cry sleep solution better
lol...got it now
2 and 1/2
re6/18 please? the one after the re4/4?
ah...then the force was with you cathy :)
ne6= ne4,4 plus different endings
Tea finally figured it out over Christmas time, at almost 3 1/2. She still have some #2 accidents, but we are getting there.
Potty training was the hardest thing that we have dealt with, by far.
it was ...finally kristinc ;)
scrabbler, tell me if i need to be more descriptive
Wow!! Heather Mills got 56 million dollars and a house in her settlement!!
i haven't really done a ton with daniel about the potty. we've read some books, and he sits on it when he asks for it, but i haven't pushed it yet. i think i'm waiting for june, when i'm home 24/7 off of school
I already have them, RMB--I wanted to make sure your prior request was fulfilled. Babble is ALL about fulfillment!! Right, Babblers?
en6?
heather mills is? the name rings a bell....
re4/4+**gative
I think that's the best way to go - we pushed a little too hard and early with Tea, so we are going to let Crackers do it on his own time.
right scrabbler!
Paul McCartney's Ex.
ahhh, knew it was familiar smd
ty very much r.m.b.
en + anagram of weight-loss plan

OK, feather, your prelude must come to an end, time for Act 1, Scene 1
hee hee, I'm in a clue!
lol scrabs!
i always start top left corner. what a nasty way to have to start, with two Es!
I love to do that, and always worry that I might hit a blank with the person asking
LOL featherbee!!! Here I have been in the last scene for 30 min and I still have 11 left--too much chatting
think I will dive in for another hunt for those elusive non-words.
well feather, there are three words based on coming in

yw Harp
has SMD been in today? I wonder how her granddaughter is doing
lol...i'm not, leslie...i thought u were requesting a clue <:)
my daughter in law wanted to get a chihuahua, but they're not good w/little kids (like their 2 year old who is anything but calm). i met a woman in a parking lot today who has a papillon, the second choice my d-in-law was considering and i was told that they are GREAT with hyper kids and playful, yet will settle down super fast and snuggle.
oh man, poor kid. and his poor parents.
Hi everyone!
she was here earlier lbd...i guess she's still not eating/drinking anythig substantial
clue for second ae please
hi angel
ae** flux and ae**plane

Hi Angel, Do, one is a small partical the other has to do with planes
I asked SMD earlier and they are still waiting for some test results to come back. I don't know if that's good or bad, lbd.

me, my dad, my youngest son, my sister, my son'swife and two of his three kids
(that WAS meant to be rhetorical...) but who says there's a genetic component?
okay, I want to spend some time with my fellas -- Tom and stidkid#2 are working on making a clock... see you-all tomorrow!

i think I'm getting a surprise party at work tomorrow. i just want to say it so I can document that I figured it out....
jilli...is the weather better out west these days? i've not heard
ADHD -- just after the flip DrB announced that here were only 9 letters in the grid, and that included a 9-letter word
it's very mild here on the east coast today
so I can point to the log if they don't believe me
who's DrB?
i think jilli meant Dr.G
does he play here?
Dr. God IS the grid...last i heard at least.
he's the developer/owner/or whatever u would call him.
he used to always come on with a zztop icon
not sure if he still uses the same icon or not...i've not seen him in awhile myself

Can someone help with the et6?
hi babblers - I am VERY stuck on the 9 letter word - anyone have any clues?
et6 = for ever but it is e+ sea bird with a vowel word.
et6 = et***ity + second vowel
Thanks Jacula and Cathyar
in9 = 'between' word + worrying nodule.
in9 = in5/10 + a poem
or in5/10 + "*** to billy jo"
So many paths lead to the same word... cue Country song! LOL.
oops...i meant in6/18 + poem (or "*** to Billy Jo")
yikes apparently i am slow tonight but can't seem to get the clue
"...the day that billy jo mcalister jumped off the talahasee bridge"
babbz - in (between word) + 1st no4/5.
in9 = a doc in training + a poem is called a o**
Oh dear! I've just arrived back here and we're into the doomed lovers songs already?
in6/18 doesnot work?
