we're having a major problem with the maple sugaring season here, as it stayed so unusually cold for so long. Many people are afraid that global warming is going to be the end of the maples.
The grass is never not green here, hodag! Except occasionally when we have a dry summer. We have flowers blooming already, the camelia bush at the back has decided to put on a great display.

It's funny - I was trying to rationalise to myself why it's annoying to see clues too early. It's something like somebody else coming and putting pieces into a jigsaw puzzle you're working on. You want to do it yourself!

I think babble has evolved a great deal even since I've been playing. At first, people didn't expect to finish a grid, now everyone does, even beginners.

I stumbled upon it one day when I was having difficulty getting onto babble. It's there, grid and all, word lists and points just as they should be. Dr God knows about it but doesn't feel it's doing any harm.

I'm not sure whether the site is intended to help those who can't be bothered to do the puzzle but who want the points, or whether it's to save you from tearing your hair out over one word.
It's impossible to stop people cheating, as its easy enough to make an algorithm connected to the dictionary which will do the grid for you. it takes a bit of the enjoyment out of it knowing people are cheating, but i still come here...

good morning all. Late to the chat but I tend to agree with what I've been reading. I'd swear there are a few who NEVER try to do anything on their own. Asking for simple 4 letter words is a pain!
I usually start at the flip and go til I drop. Continue in the morning then get the list. I print it out and enter all the words I've already gotten and fill in as I go.

I agree with most of what has been said so far. I dont ask for clues till I am down to less than 10 words, but sometimes those are very easy ones that my brain has blocked. When someone asks for the same clue several times, I do take to practically spelling it out--while hoping taht their word reservoir will thereby increase

One reason I stopped playing, truth be known, as well as busting my shoulder with RSI, was the grid started to become too easy. I was completing grids with not much help. Hopefully, I will have forgotten everything when I'm ready to return. Clues are annoying unless it's for an obscure word.

my 2 boys and i all live in the same neighborhood. i moved here last May, my older son came back to CT after living on the west coast for 10 yrs, lives five houses from his brother and i'm around the corner, less than a mile.

i see/talk to their wives more than them, only because they work. I talk to my younger son a lot because i do his office work for his business from my house. he's still my big gentle bear.
