Hi ARB
good news indeed, melon!
Hi arb
Shalom ARB
:)
shalom, ARB
good eve ARB happy babbling
hi arb!
it is a relief - I had a bxlast yea, too, other side, which showed a condition called LCIS - that and my family hist put me at high risk. I've been on Tamoxifen since the 1st bx, so when the mammo showed something, i was really worried. it was my 1st digital mammo. & the digital does show a lot more detail.
okay, DR. But one of the people I told is in San Diego; that's what made me ask! :)
heydee ho arb!!
almost-word -- machine
hi, ARB, i was typing away before i noticed you were on board. boker tov.
OH... that makes sense Nef
digital mammo? Does it squish like the regular kind?
double phantom - deity and deities
Just came on board -- boker or.
oh, yeah, it's just digital imagery replaces the film.
melon - I had LCIS and DCIS..... had 7 surgeries total
hey man
dang
israel :) that's exciting
hey again lisa
yikes, Mama!
how many words do you have
how are you doing now mama?
az 6/36 anyone?
hey fbs -- what about that new spinundrum record preview?
ok Fran - that was a while back...
awesome
that's good mama! :-)
ditto, mama!
7, mamabear? why 7? i'm asking, because i was wondering if i'm going to have a bx every d--n year.
had the first surgery when I was 28 or 29 I think
no, melon - they were all different reasons - first one was LCIS & DCIS - then had papaloma problems
i suppose to7 was already called?
that's an awful lot to go thru
plus the first surgeon screwed up, which caused 2 more surgeries that weren't necessary
re7
sorry F.B.S. i don't have that yet, plus we like to play first hour clueless. :-)
oh ok
re7 x 2
I've had the papaloma problems too, mama. I've had a lumpectomy and have avoided surgery beyond taht.
hee, found that one freep, didn't even realize it was 7 letters!
rennie - your favorite food is in here - chitoes!
yeah. I know which one that is, Fran!
what's paploma
papaloma
a different kind of growth
not sure how to spell it
it's almost a warty-like growth inside the breast tissue
i'm off for the night - happy babbling, everyone
night ping!

nite Ping
G'night, Ping
well, I'm 53, finally menopausal after total hyst last december.

was se7 called?
I'm 52, melon
so my 1st abnormal mammo was at age 52, is that means anything. i had genetic counseling. the stats are like story problems from hell, my head was spinning. all i know is i'm high risk - it's a fact of life, and i'm taking the precautions w/screening & tamoxifen.
well, I can't stay awake any longer; and have now crossed over into the terrible spelling stage of fatigue. And I'm older than both of you!
everything OK now, mamabear?
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh i just found out i washed my sons cellphone in his laundry load grrrrrr

good morning Atal!
Freddie the labradoodle
labradoodle ooooo! he's gorgeous
yes, he's a lovely boy - my child substitute since my son went off to Aus
is his fur soft or wiry?
soft and it does fall out everywhere, which it isn't meant to!
lol no! isnt that one of the "advantages" of labradoodles?
babblers all have such cute dogs!
Maybe thats better than being wiry like a poodles - they can be really high maintenance with those coats - even if they don't shed
yes and with two very hairy cats you can't really see the carpet any more for fur
well ... then just pretend you have a pet fur carpet, I do!
oh yes, lynx. especially standard poodles that get everything caught in their coats
no time for vacuuming now I have started babbling
got to get the priorities right!
morning
is this a good grid today?

Positive mental attitude.
positive mental attitude
ah, thanks. Well, I do try. But this last blow was definitely one too many. Sorry to be sounding negative.
Oh hugs sprite :(
hugs are NICE! Thanks.
What has happened sprite (dont say unless you want to)
Sounds like a nightmare sprite but I'm sure it will all work out in the end. Although waiting for that is the hair pulling bit.
on top of all else I heard last week that I wil be losing my job because of a reorganisation, my boss thinks I am working in secret while I am being sick and we got a panic letter from our life insurance... they forgot to do the incasso for the monthly pay since we got our new mortgage... 3 years ago. 9000 euro due this Monday.
worst thing is, with my being so deepdown scared as hell, now they mess with my job AND my house at the same time... security out of the window.
Oh sprite Im SO sorry I wish i could do something to help you
I wish too, cait. It just gets too much. We asked a friend of ours, who is a financial planner, to help us with this shit. He said he will, right away. That is a bliss.
Oh sprite what a blow (about the job) you really must be tearing your hair out. I truly hope everything can be resolved for you very quickly so that you can regain your sanity. You were sane, weren't you?
once, Frances... though I am doubting it a bit atm, lol.
If anyone can help it will be your friend and your boss doesnt know that he is loosing a great person ((((((((((((sprite))))))))))
My spelling is getting worse!!!
Sprite I would like to kick your boss in the butt. I mean if you are sick in the head you are sick deal with it. You are a great person with a lovely family
will be having a meeting with boss and his boss next week. My husband will go with me. I am so incredibly mad, I just know I am gonna yell at them. And I think it is about time I do just that.
Just think sprite, this may be the job opportunity you've been waiting for. A better job just round the corner.
thanks all! Your support means a lot to me.
Sprite i would dearly like to type what i would like to say to your boss but i think it would make sailors blush
hehehe lady, well, I will not call him or her any names, but I will sure as hell tell them my side of things. I have been polite long enough. If I learned one thing in all this therapy, it is that I am totally allowed to get angry.
Thats the beauty of this game,we can help one another not only with the words but with emotional support Thanks Dr G for bringing us together!!
I think this must be the best community on the net......barr none!
I agree!
Every one has a right to be them selfs being angry sad happy (insert emotion) is just human. If one cant be them selfs then whats the point
Well said herin
sounds logical, lady, but it is something I really had to learn. Still working on it even. Anyway, I was scared thinking of that meeting, until I gave myself permission to be as angry as I liked. So that is a start.
.....and what a boring world it would be if we were all the same.
guess I never felt I had the right to exist, let alone make waves. Well, for what it is wo5, I will make waves this time.
Good for you sprite.
Then sprite those stairs will feel smaller and you will grow
morning, all . . . sprite, I'm soooo sorry to hear how bady you're being treated . . .
Hi Une
Hi Une.
hi Une, thanks *hug*
hey, caitlyn :-)
and frances :-)
Sprite it is very hard to allow ones self to be ones self. When we are down its harder and while we are down the boots of meaness kick as some more. We need to wake up every day and say to our selfs 'well im angry hurt sad (insert emotion) at least i have nice hair (insert your favorite body part)
there...done

Did you pay $250 for it, carlee?
nope....why?
yummy that sounds so good carlee
( I've had it over 10 years )
There's an urban legend about someone having to pay $250 for a cookie recipe, and for revenge, they published it all over, email, internet, postings, etc. About 15 years old (the legend) now that I think about it...
Nemen Marcus
the key..is to add 1/2 package of instant vanilla pudding mix to dough... and and maple syrup to the cream cheese frosting
( that was neiman marcus
Oh now you are making me drool
Try not to get it on the keyboard, herin!
and that recipe is actually a really good one..although the story false..I use that recipe all time..just cus makes SO many cookies..in this neighbourhood any cookies under 8 dozen just not worth the trouble
It would literally take us two about 4 weeks for 8 dozen cookies, hah!
yay, a decent sized one today - going to dive in and not chat for a bit so you don't have to say hi to me yet, lol
Never fear im still paying of the laptop
hmmm..maybe will make those today...( it makes 12 dozen cookies..and they are all gone in about 5 days )

Hi Owl!
Owl, how was the musikfest?
ri 5/10
fine, very hot at beginning. i am going through withdrawl big time
Owl, is it held every year? If so, you can have another fix next year..
yes. but i am bored sored bored.
ahh, the price we pay
put on your itunes?
bored bored bored bored i cannot explain it but to go from being active every minute of the day to the old routine....*sigh*
we shall have to try to be entertaining
did i ever tell you how i used to eat jelly at bickfords?
*puts on tap shoes, starts to sing and dance to "puttin on the ritz"
annie, another one! lol
Hey TO how about writing a piece for BabAnon about the festival so we can all get a feel for what it was like?
hurshy, bickfords? you are not old enough
LOL - HEY were's the word?
please tell us, hurshy
what do you mean i'm not old enough? i ate at bickfords quite oft in HS
mitch, that's a great idea! and if the tunes are stilll up i can include them
my friends and i would go but i never had money so i would just eat the jelly packets on the table
Brilliant! That way you get to relive it again and we get to experience it too.
ri 5/10
what is bickfords?
once i did have 75 cents and ordered a side of mashed potatoes. the waitress said, "do you want gravy?" and i said "is it free?" it was, so gravy i got.
*disappears back into the mist until next creative prod is needed*
what the frog just happened. I couldnt log in for um 20min
mitch, it's hard fo rme to believe, but not everyone shares my enthusiasm for the event. four people from work were to attend but did not.
Bickfords was like the Automat...I didn't think there were still around when hurshy was growing up
bickfords is... or was... a cheap chain restaurant, kind of like denny's
maybe there was more than one bickfords.
I believe we are speaking about two different Bickfords...no waitresses where I ate... you took a tray and it was like the Automat
ah... unless they were different by region?
one time, my friend ordered something that was to come with a side of cole slaw, which didn't come. he asked the waitress if she could bring him the slaw, and she just laughed and walked away.
hurshy, could be....we got a glass of hot water and put the free ketchup packets in, salt and pepper and voila! tomato soup or so we thought
Is anyone still having problems with being booted out of chat and babble?
lol annie, good times
not here, herin

Scrabbler i picked up a 1930s good house wife /home doctor book very intersting.
none of the free sites could handle the file size, so i had to buy a subscription
Nut all else fails feed it to the fishes
but now when i upload the b@st@rd, me and jade sound like a couple of chipmunks.
Enjoy the grid - it's nice, except perhaps for an 'az' or 3 and a couple of ma's, which are easy if you're Jewish.
Nut, tell them you have some subscribers that could be featured in "LIves of the Rich & Famous." (Rich with word power, and famous in Babble Land.)
Thank you Nut for doing that its very kind of you
Chipmunks? Tee hee!
i'm a kind soul...
and so is jacula, you should all be thanking jacula
Do you need donations, Nut?
Scrabbs - I paid for the superspeed version. ROFLOL. BBL.
i don't like to ask for them scrabs, so i just leave the donation button on the site

TY--I just exported so I will see if that took the entire thing.
Good morning, verbal vagabonds.
It should take them all as a hyperlink (blue writing) then it looks like one big list but its not. Or do that scrable
http://www.komando.com for all sorts of computer tips Scrabs

"Stumble Upon" is how I found Babble and all of you, August 1,2006!
Wow Scrabbler thats very cool
How funny, Scrabs!!!!
scrabbler. a suggestion: make a folder called Bookmarks on your desktop. each time you export them, make sure they go into that bookmarks folder, and save each with the date of the export.
And I found lost cousin via his wife, Stidmama.
OK, TY so much, Angel.
Scrabs, on your puter go to C:/Documents and Settings Your bookmarks should be listed there as favorites and you can back it up to a disk or whatever
that system works very well for me, Scrabbler.
Yes, I found it under Documents & Settings and moved it to My Documents.
*clears throat* anybody want to answer my M question?
Angel could--she just got fireworks. I am not using the list yet.
has anyone seen MusicMom or stidmama recently?
congrats, angel!! Sorry, hursh, I am nowhere near being able to assist...
I've barely scratched the M's, Hursh. I'm avoiding them until later.
I saw Stid on Friday.
there are 3 MA words, the rest are MOs.
ty angel.
if you had a donut shaped boat, you could name it the HMS Toric
Scrabbler, next time you see Stidmama, please tell her I have some good news about a house.
oops
why do i not think about the fact that i'm saying a wo4
TY, hurshy, for the clue.
I had found to4 but had not extended it to to5
also to5 hurshy
that's what i meant.
the second MA builds from the first one. the third is a little different spelling.
I just found ma4,7--now what?
ty Angel i'd been looking for those
Scrab, add first three letters or secret identity of Don Diego ***ro
got me sc
scrab: add a six point tile to your ma4/7 and add two more letters to that.
So, no one commented before---I watched "Breach" last night and was very impressed with that movie. Has anyone else seen it?
haven't seen it
a little different spelling off that now *thinks*
I think so, scrabs--was that the spy movie?
Didn't see it, Scrabs.
Yes, true story of Robert Hanssen--biggest spy in US history.
I Loved it. saw it in a movie theater--something I don't do a lot of
jeepers, i can't figure how to spell that differently without making an 8, which it isn't.
0
remove a letter hurshy
ah thanks
weeeeeeeeird ones
yiddish, i suppose
Pam, I never go to movie theatres anymore--too expensive and I get homicidal being surrounded by rude, obnoxious idiots

ty hursy
TY, hurshy
i think i'm fighting a losing battle

Oh, man, Nut--what is happening?
to get babblecast to post proper
remove a letter scrabs but it still sounds the same
Hubby's late getting home from his bike ride. We're supposed to go to brunch. I'm starvin like Marvin here.
the file plays like a couple of chipmunks talking
*offers nut a consolatory chocolate chip banana muffin*
*doesn't like bananas but eats it anyway*
Scrabble Dictionary to the rescue....
nutty, listened to episode #12 and totally enjoyed it ...couldnt get episode #13, will keep trying...the site is great
Had some protein bar and coffee. Just didn't cut it.
i can't do anything until them poopheads at the site get back in touch with me, odds of that happening on a sunday?
"poopheads" ?
105 words down, 105 to go.. time for a break
tr 6 & 7???
Stupidhead Poopheads!
Bye Ypsi
that's right, POOPHEADS....suckas
lol. Sooooo mature.
i can't figure out if firezilla is doing something to the file or if it is the site
maybe judi is an only child?
And talk about stupid poopy words---ma6 and 7. Those nearly sucked the life right out of me.
bye, ypsi
Hardly, Hursh. Baby of 4. Two brothers and a sister.
then you really ought to know about poopheads
scrabbler, please clue ma 6 and 7 and are you okay, inhale, inhale
Well, of course I know about poopheads. Now I just refer to them as sh*theads.
OK, Annie...take ma4, now add the big-score tile (even though it seems illegal to add it to ma4) and add either/**
:O
Poophead is a kinder way of referring to a**h***s.
I have the ma 7, but not the 6. Is it related to the 7?
morning all
thank you, scrabbler
ma 7/ 60
morning Dorens
my mommy didn't even like the use of "poopheads"!
Hi, Dorens
Next, Annie, remove the 3rd ltr for ma6, and say "Good riddance!" to the ma's.
bichon it is related you need to just remove a letter
most mommies don't. but then again, sometimes it is just the right word. that or poopyhead...
Hi Doren!!
poop is a necessity
everybody poops
There's always the ever-popular "ca ca dootie"
unlike my dog, who is a poopahead, LOL
again, thanks, scrabbler
and poop is a preferable word to some of the others out there'
and good riddance
Pediatricians are poop experts--we hear every possible description from parents.
i like the others too
thanks no no
Yippee, Annie, I am glad that out of my disgust with the ma's that I could help you. :)
I can only imagine, scrabbs!
good morning all
lady i work with makes her nanny take pictures of her baby's poop so she can monitor the quality of them or something
Pam--we hear detailed descriptions about BM's and all kinds of words for them.
just looking back, my mom was such a prim & proper lady, my daughter use to say "but gramma's sh*t don't smell"
hi all
I used the word scatalogical recently ( in context) and my otherwise articulate and bright 25 year old daughter was thrilled to discover that there was a word like that just for that purpose.
Oh, dear, hursh. LOL, flosey!!!!!!
oh, hursh, that is just vile
Now that's kind of creepy. Nanny should just put it in a plastic bag so mummy can inspect it when she gets home. Weeeeeird.
hurshy , you work with one VERY strange lady
ROFL, corens
Quality, color, size, consistency.....I hear all about it....and, even worse are those mothers that bring the diaper in for us to examine the BM...YUCK!!
hurshy, that coworker is neurotic
I agree - if you know what goes in, you also know what comes out
We call them "Mad Mommas", and they abound.
one of the parts of your job that we don't envy, scrabs
well, maybe i mis-overheard
WHAT?! That's sick. Somebody has a very unhealthy fetish I think.
No, I think you heard correctly, HUrsh. It is consistent with our Mad Momma experiences.
there are strange people everywhere... and some look so normal
how many words are in today's puzzle?
i am so stuck
210
210 words
Hey! I resemble that remark, Dorens!
What ltr, hursh?
k, thanks
lots of em
i know, cause I'm one of them myself, judi
i'm just stuck in general
my wife and I took our pup downtown yesterday. Sitting on a park bench, a tourist mom of 3 (w/hubby) unsolicited says "if all you have is a dog, stop there"
BBL. Hubby ready for brunch now.
maybe i want the list and i concur dan
I enjoy being different and strange (who wants to be like everyone else?) but then there is just plain nuts and dysfunctional.
LOL, I agree, scrabs
LOL, dan2bit...I agree, but not everyone would.
exactly, scrabs,,, and I prefer to think that we are all different and strange in a good way, but not dysfunctional
LOLOL, dan!
obv she was having a tough day, since she felt obliged to give advice to strangers :)
good thing that not everyone would
My friends love me BECAUSE I am different and goofy
we do need a few people procreating here ( or maybe......)
ma 6/39
that's the way to be Scrabbs
many people that have children regret having them.
AND a study found that while marriage makes people happier, kids don't.
this is true, hurshy
Yes, or we would not have jobs, Doren. Now, if we can figure out how to get the right people to have kids.
i think i might be figuring this out, cross your fingers folkies.
Yippeee, Nut.
fingers crossed
did you know you can spell my favorite apple beverage with a Y???
I think it's possible to have both. At time [then and now] children can be difficult but the problemsw are not insurmountable. Now I have grandchildren andthat is real pleasure
yes, scrabs. why can't we have something like a driver's test to get a license?
TY, hursh.
ooh thanks hursh
thanks, hursh!!!
anyone have the hi 8?
I loved having children and really love having grandchildren
the romantic husband hi8 for his wife to find, because they were her favorite flowers
beautiful clue, hurshy!
haha hurshy great clue
The second hardest part of my job is seeing kids being raised by clueless +/or selfish idiots. So many kids have horrible childhoods that do not get them prepared to cope with life. (The worst part of my job is when kids have bad illnesses/injuries or die.)
i have one more word; i think it is the last tr 6,33. Can anyone give me any clues for it?
sc, how do you not get depressed by all this?
past tense of the four, angelina?
i have that one, it must be the other thanks
I do get depressed by it, as I want to rescue SO many kids and I am powerless. I focus on teaching kids that they can create their own future if they take the right steps. PLus I admire and am humbled by the parents that choose to raise great kids/adults.
it really is a shame that some times the people who should have children don't and those that shouldn't do
someone said something about a tr6 and 7 a bit ago but nobody had a clue
what do you do scrab?
you also take solace in the good that you do, right scrabbler?
Yes, Doren, as one sees the downward spiral of people and the legacy of bad childhoods.
Miss Jolie, I am a pediatrician.
Yes, Doren, I remind myself of that.
oh wow
ddo you recommend counseling to some of those who could use it? do you have good resources for referrals?
i work with kids too, but i'm a kindergarten teacher
the hi 8 is it a continuation of the hi 4/6 with a flower after it?
I LOVE that age, Angelina! My favorite--they are adorable, sweet, profound, innocent, candid....then something happens at about age 7.
not zackly bichon, you have to get rid of the e
Can you recommend parenting classes to the parents that need it??
i wish lol
Doren, I do, but parents have excuses, or just want a pill for "ADHD" or bipolar disease.
I find fourth grade a major turning point
i agree, it is a nice age
i object! i am still adorable, sweet, profound, and candid... maybe not so innocent though
lol
We try, Annie--the parents that most need help are not interested.
i'm a pirate...nothing sweet about me, but candid...yes.
mo 5/22
sometimes i kind of threaten them with DYFS and that sometimes works
Yes, of course you are, hurshy!!
dorens, a "turning point" in what way,,,re:4th grade?
thanks for the hi hints, and to think it means sweat
it's not in there, but i keep seeing esoteric in here
is that like cys dorens?
nut, you're the sweetest pirate i know
I see so many kids, esp boys, crumble at age 13-15 yrs--lose interest in school, become sad/lost/angry.
lost innocence.... the kids who had minor problems... if they aren't corrected by then they can become more serious, and the other kids are less accepting of the differences and begin to exclued them
Anyone who doesn't appreciate fourth and fifth graders should be locked in a room full of 13-year-old boys!
as a pirate, i take that as an insult and personal affront....i pride myself in my unsociability and my stench.
Yes, Doren, adolescence now begins at 9-10 yrs in our society.
I taught middle school for 9 years, (inner city,no less) and counsel elementary/middle school. Middle school boys definitely can lose it.... they need special treatment
coochie coochie coo little sweet pirate nut
nut, we rejoice in your unsociability and stench!
You excel at it, Nut, and we aspire to be like you.
i still can't figure out the tr 6,33, the one that is not the past tense of the tr 4,8; it's driving me crazy
yes, nut. dyfs is the state agency for the protection of children.... and they get it right about 52% of the time
Yep, those clues went past me too, Angelina.
nutty, you are held in high esteem for your unsociability and stench
lol
tr6 rhymes with "gr6 spurt"
*prepares a nice poo pie for hurshy* - - - sweet this my sweet...arrrrrrgh.
Gee, it's letting me make up words today!
lol
t + ***, ***, *** your boat, gently down the stream....., then past tense
oh wow thanks dan
if it hadn't been for cotton eye joe, i'd been married long time ago
i always love seeing the zo 5/28 word...always brings me back to my childhood and seeing bozo the clown on tv for some reason, lol
could not figure that out
Oh, that is different than what I found
yeah, thanks dan
10 minutes to figure out if i succeeded
yw
thanks all, that finished me up
mo 5/22
TY, Dan
i need help with os6 please
Yahoo Miss Jolie--Brad must be so proud.
lol, thanks
yay angie
I still have no Z words---waaaahhhhh
congrats, angelina
acne
thanks, have a nice day everyone
no kids with acne in your practice scrabs?
scrab...pimples
LOL, I am a moron, Hurshy. I typed in acne.
zo 5/28, an exclamation!!
Hmm, and zider is not an acceptable alternate spelling for cider
is if youz drunk scrabs...have some rum.
and an oldfashioned word for flipflop
Ok, 2/3 Z words now.
flipflop as in rubber sandal, not politicos
zo4 rhymes with to4
That went past me, Doren.
Aha, Z's are done--TY all!
my aunt called what we called thongs (for our feet) zo**s
zo + three of something is a T**O
zo5 rhymes with to5, but i know what hurshy meant :)
Did you find os6, Hurshy?--I didn't.
am i the only one who ever heard that word like that?
i meant exactly what i said
it's not my fault the fives rhyme too.
New to me, Doren.
Yes, you did, Hurshy.
new to me also and no i have not got the os6
so maybe my Aunt Shirley is thebrains behind enable?
lol
77 and things have slowed down...
was hoping to hit 100 before slowing
yes, i got to 80 and then had to get lickety.... it's helping
Probably, Doren--have you ever asked her if she is an Enable editor?
hi everyone
*dances round ata*
if you knew my Aunt Shirley you'd be laughing y our head off at the thought. She was a peroxide blonde back in the 40's... she majored in cosmetics and clothes
hi Atalante, hi fellow Babblers!
most def not a word person hi ata
and aloy
h'lo alo
Maybe she has a secret side, Doren.
I've solved it! Listen up peeps. Do not listen to babblecast directly from the site. You have to download it and listen to it that way.
Hi Ata and Aloy!!
still laughing, scrab
os/6 fluid going thru a membrane
unless you like the chipmunk version
oh MAN am i stupid. thanks dromano
yw
hi ata and aloy

ok, last two, tr6/7 combo
*ponders*
TY--I got os 6!

i didn't know it could BE a verb, lol

one of the votes was me!
i'm half a poll!
I voted a while ago, Nut
you and i think book dr gwen was the other
you do now :)
nutty, I voted...guess it did not take
guess not...now i have to think of a new one...hmmm
i did an osm... project in like 9th grade
i made an egg absorb a lot of vinegar.
I am listening now, Nut--LOL, you named the file, dammit.mp3.
it was neato, but since i had no hypothesis, my teacher was unimpressed. apparently projects where you just go, look, isn't that cool? are not considered scientific enough.
yes, well after a while scrabs, i'm sure you can understand.
see you all later, happy babbling
Yes, I totally get it, Nut.
bye, Annie
You didn't eat those eggs did you, Hursh?
Bye Annie
ewwww no
bye Annie
I'm having problems with German words interfering with the hunt again. It doesn't help that I was just listening to some German singers.
I was joking, hursh.
bye Annie
in which case, the vinegar os****d across the membrane
indeed it did
I often see "foreign" words in the grid, Erilar.
i'm listening squirrel style... even more amusing this way
this love has taken its toll on me, she said goodbye too many times before
rose
hey...i don't appreciate that dorens.

So far, I like it. I LOVE glenn close. Betwen this and hot packing the dog's incision, I am really not "here."
What happened to your dog, Pam?
I just noticed the TW start.
what's hot packing?
She had a lump removed...a probable mast cell tumor. But because she has had lymphoma for 2 months, we are not treating the mast cell, we just needed the lump out as it was bleeding
Applying a hot compress, nut
Poor baby, Pam. What is her name?
oh...gotcha...poor little pupster!
poor little pupster!
So, the surgery went great, but there is swelling at the site. Ex took her to vet, vet said clot at site. to ice through Sat, then heat....
Her name is China
How long is this Podcast, Nut?

i don't feed them any canned food, just dry.

i have a poll. scenario: you're at a softball game, and "your" team is losing very badly. they are fielding, and a batter hits a ball that fails to be caught by an infielder, it drops just short of his glove. a fellow spectator comments, "when they fall, they fall". what meaning do you place upon this remark?
hello folks

well i took it as, the team - like when they collapse, they really collapse. but as it turned out, he meant, the ball fell, the trajectory being not what one would perhaps expect.
their misery is compounded by errors.. they lose big, not by just a few runs..

Hi, Scrabbler
Hi Jellen.
72 to go...not an easy grid, huh?
Hello Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome back to the grid! (**thought you had waited long enough)
Phew, Gwen, I was feeling unwelcome.
But you are ALWAYS welcome!!
No, not easy, Scrabbler.
I know, but Minveryork always greets people--she is the Official Babble Greeter.
I slipped in unnoticed today.
Sneaky, Gwen.
I haven't opened the list yet, but by tonight I will need to.
Yep, that's me!
Jellen--I forget, are you in Oklahoma? (just saw CNN story on OK flooding)
Yes, I'm in Oklahoma. We had terrible flooding in July.
And my friend's newly wedded daughter and husband escaped form their honeymoon in Jamaica last night....Hirricane Dean is about to slam jamaica.
There is flooding now, Jellen, from lots of rain.
I've nearly forgotten what rain is.
wish you could send some rain my way
Hmm..must be in another part of the state. I'll have to check it out!
We had 2.5 inches so far today. That's a lot for one day in Chicago arealand.
Where are you Bekkie and Gwen?
NC, near Charlotte
We have had a cool weekend---mid-high 60's..feels like autumn.
i'm in central california
We're an hour No. of Chicago. Totally getting dumped on.
I have a friend in Holly Springs.
Same here, diane! Nice day to stay indoors!
i'm an hour south of fresno, ca
Adn we are all here in Babble Land!
Whole 'summer'has felt like autumn here.....apart from about three days!

Yes it is Artlady. Too bad our son's baseball picnic had to be cancelled, though.
No autumn here, Frances. Hot and humid.

Do you have ma4, Mary?

We were out in Idaho for some lovely 103 degree plus days in July!
Having split brain today. I'm listening to 'nut's podcast and trying to play at the same time. Yikes!
Oh how I'd love 103 degrees.
Yikes, artlady. The globe has had extreme weather conditions this last few months.
That is a wacky podcast, with Nut & Jade.
Yes! I also heard stid's interview.
Yawn. Nap attack. BBL.

Hurshy, men are at least as sensitive as women. All their jokes about women being sensitive are just their way of trying to keep you from noticing that they're so insecure.

later harp!
I was turned on to an author last week, Jac, et al. Howard Frank Mosher. He wrote Disappearances, and several other books. He is a Vermonter, setting a lot of his books in Northern, remote Vermont
This wedding coat is gorgeous as a coat in a regal black or deep purple not a dress
Fireworks for me. Has anyone here seen the video, what does that guy have lines up for the music? Bottles?
I am reading his fictional account of a bloke who is trying to beat Lewis and Clark to the Pacific. it's a hoot

Nut - I do on my trusty old PC but not on this stupid new one! I'll have to plug the old one back in later, methinks.
then i clicked the little download option underneat and it's playing perfect right now
hi jell hi pam i nut hi fran hi jacs hi fern hi inge and congrats
so 7/28 is a plural
Nut, when i played it directly from the site i got the chipmunks, downloaded, it sounds fine.
BTW, Nut, when Paul signed me in on MSN on the laptop you ARE on my list but you're not on the MSN7 list on this new PC.

nutty, where are the polls posted?
Screen, Nut? Black.
zo 4: like the British party, change first cons

Hi, Scrabbs.
The dr 5/12 word is dr plus De*****, Michigan Jellen.
Hi Scrabbler!
dawg: http://babble-cast.blogspot.com/
Hello pam! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
re7/28 clue, please?
Nut - I'll see if it works out on either the laptop or my old PC later.
ingy....it's very important...but rarely works, stupid thing
thanks, jellen!
Hi, scrab
I have accepted that I did not finish everything on my to-do list for the weekend....that is the burden of being a procrastinator.
Did Scrabbler come in? I havent seen her yet
re7/28-the plural of the re 6/18 word before it Jellen
hi scrabs.
I wish I could have heard all YOU were saying, Nut, about the 'hair styling' video. LOL. I have one on waxing somewhere... *grins*
Guten Abend, Freundin Inge! Wie geht es heute?
lololol, scrabs. I have learned not to make a list
thanks Nut, and not fair invalidating my question! booo hoooo
there has to be a way...i got it to work for me, so there has to be a way to make it work for you
Weird, Scrab your post posted after everyone greeted you and I went looking for you
hi dawg
Jellen - after re, how you can score points at rugby - plural
srry if i messed the clue but I need se5/20
not so dawg...question was invalid...dr. nut reserves the right.
Nut - your 'sweet dawgy' icon is freaking me out.
But, Pam, I do feel good of what I DID get done. But I definitely goofed off a lot---TV, computer, etc.
se 5/20 is past tense of hemming clothes marisalsera
i love my dawgy picture!
Nutty....phlippppppbbbbbtttt
I feel like I am talking to Scrab in a time lag situation
got it minver...ty
Well, Inge, I am here...and on-call so I have occasionally been interrupted today.
Question for Dr. Nut - which came first? The tadpole or the frog?
i'm disappointed here....i need to figure out why this isn't working for jacula,...who else only heard it in squirrel format?
i've got chat lag here too Inge
LOLOL, I am glad, scrab! I have stayed on top of hot packing the dog, and worked yesterday. Oh, adn went to the market today. Not a banner weekend, LOLOLOL
yw
dr nut saving question
How is the on call>
**waving, jumping & screaming so that Inge can see and hear me**
Nut - Don't worry about me until I've tried it in itunes on the old pc.
Jellen - or if rugby not your thing then to give something a go again.
Pam, what are you doing to your dog?
there you are! Scrabbler, Hi
And NO exercise other than chores, Pam. It has been an autumnn-like weekend so I am in slug-mode.
putting heat on her incision site--she had a lump removed...
Nutty, your icon dog looks like it had a bad nightmare
Scrabbler! Stop bouncing around like Tigger, you're making the grid jiggle. I've finished but some people haven't. LOL
oh, poor pupster.
I know that feeling, scrab. All I got was the walking to and from the train/bus, etc.
the squirrel effect is caused by this: the recording software records at a bitrate that the sites software does not like. that's why playing from the site doesn't work and downloading is supposed to work.
Inge, nutty's icon IS a BAD NIGHTMARE
No, I am making my girls jiggle as I am braless, LOL.
ditto scrabs
I never got to hear the chipmunk effect. I would have been amused to do so.;)
LOLOL, lbd---I don't like Chinese Crested to begin with, LOL
Scrabbs - now don't start that again!
It worked fine for me after i downloaded it. it played in windows media player.
Thanks, Thomas G.
OK, Jacula. I will behave. **bows head in shame**
lbd - that's another thing I don't have on this stupid new pc - WMP. I used that for most things before.
az 6, any clues? any relation to the 2 az 5s?
girls in 20 years you will be sorry
halfway there....
be not ashamed scrabs!!! *ambles off to take bath AND clean the girls*
may i have a clue please for ci5? ty
**squirming in my chair as I want to be silly**

But pirates are supposed to be smelly and di4y, Nut.
ty for ci5
TO - is that 'gentle men' or 'gentlemen'?

OK, OK, I don't want to be responsible for the guys experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath,
would all gentle men please raise their hand?
az+ play h*** and go seek with the babble words
thanks, lbd
Speaking of pirates, I made a joke today as my son was reading me a thing about more women joining the British Navy. I said, 'Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of Bacardi'. Paul laughed but my son didn't.:( Bacardi's still rum!
**Scanning crowd for show of hands**
jacs, remember when babble was not so g rated?
oh, i didnt finish my question to you lb...so was it you that gave me advice?
sorry, I'm not gentle
Why not, abmoraz?

thanks jac...I'll look into that!!!
jellen, ti 6/21 is more than ti 4/7
Jellen - ti6/21 - neater, as Maris said.
ma7 is another spelling of ma6 (a Jewish prayer book).
i need to stay home and play this more often
ty, marisa, lovejoy, and jac!
Maris - a good idea. Change one expensive addiction for a cheaper one.
ma7 is ma4/7 + you shave with a ra***
yeah...i cant wait to go back to work
However, Maris, I'd still go to GAnon, if I were you.
I have too much free time and get bored at home
yw jellen
OK, phone call with worried mom is done....16 to go.
Why aren't you at work, Maris... if you don't mind me asking.

Can you get a "consult" from them? Send photos on-line. Or would they not be thrilled with that?
That's how I got the 'thing on the end of my nose' sorted so quickly. BTW - stitches came out Thursday afternoon and you can hardly see a mark now. Surgeon my GP sent me to was great.

my primary care tries, but my rosacea needed a specialist, and it did not take long the first time, as my face was road kill. Follow ups took forever...
to5/18, last?
Interesting entries on the wo4 list today--so many wo4s that I have never seen before.
Scrabbs - did I tell you I now have 2 'new' boys in the rabbit shed? 2 4-yr-old male guinea pigs my daughter brough back who were victims of a broken home?
Um does someone have an exma problem?
Let Scrabs answer that, but I just read that you can't. They interact and render each other ineffective
Yuck, rosacea, Pam.
to5.18, pull + frozen water vowels
The to 5/18 word rhymes w/singer Davie B**** Jellen.
pam - rosacea is awful. My Dad got that for a while.
Wowie, Jacula! How nice for you and them. What have you named them?
I have eczema, but it's manageable. I have a pigmented spot ion my nose
ty, min and lbd
yw
Herin - my other half and my daughter both get eczema, but our GP so5/10 them out v. well.
it isn't that bad once it is treated, mine got away from the doc, and I got steroid-induced rosacea on top of the regular--what a mess!!!!!!
I missed that, dawger. I take 2 baby aspirins daily, as I was spayed/de-gonaded a few yrs ago. I take naproxen for migraines.
Oh i was going to say there is this stuff called cow udder cream its fantastic for eczema
please os6/12 and the 7? ty
st7/32
os7=goofy bird
os 6/21 word is os+*** Def plus a vowel 72 Temple Owl
TO, os+ double hump + don't pick your n*** in public
Scrabbs - They were called Bubble and Squeak but, due to their markings and colourings, my daughter felt they were 'Foxy' and 'Badger'. So now they are 'Foxy-Bubble' and 'Badger-Squeak' and that's about right. Badger is a noisy, nosey character and Foxy far more reticent.
os6==verb for diffusion of water across a membrane
st 7/32-past tense of what I read to kids marisalsera
de 7/48 pls
tr 6/18, please?
Tizer, superlative of moisture on the ground
I have never had GP's for pets. My old hamster has a tumor on his skin, and is 2 1/2 yrs old, so he will not last much longer.

Fireworks!
Well, as I became instantly post-menopausal with surgery at age 44 my cardiologist-friend from med school advised aspirin.
Jellen, plural that for the 7
Yahooo Jellen!
whoooo hooooo JELLEN
Oh, that makes sense, I wan't thinking, scrabs
Congratulations Jellen on fireworks! Hooray for you!
yay jell
Life is often easier when one doesn't think.
Does anyone have a clue for the tr 7/28 word please
Scrabbs - I've been avoiding becoming 'de-sexed' since about that age (44). Surgeon who offered me the hysterectomy died last year.
Me and my fibroids limp on. LOL
Min, add another snake to the end of the 6
Min, plural of the 6/18
I hope that you can continue avoiding, jac
Thank you for the tr 7/28 clue. I just found the word
I was "offered" a hysterectomy when I was way too young, to deal with hot flashes/flushes and other symptoms at age 29.
Good hormone dosing, and a diagnosis of PCOS helped...
pam - I hope so, too. Couldn't go in for op when it was offered as daughter had just gone into hospital for what turned out to be a 3 year stay and we had all the animals to be seen to. I couldn't be incapacitated for 6 weeks or more. After that, I just kind of got used to things.
THREE YEARS???? I hope she is okay now.
I had 4 gyn operations, 2 with scopes, 2 with big incisions--I had many problems and for me, having all of those optional parts removed has helped immensely
What happened with your daughter, Jacula, if you don't mind me asking?
that is great, scrabbler
jac--hysterectomy @ 45--best thing ever. after years of fibroids & problems. told gyn that if men had to endure one menstrual cycle docs would be giving the surgery on demand!
I had one fibroid that was slightly bigger than a grapefruit.
scrbas, you are too young for that...
I now have had a test to see if I am post-menopausal (when I went to have a moan about the hot flushes keeping me awake all night)and been told my hormone levels were so low I'd probably never have another period again. The day after that prognosis... guess what? I think I'm due now for another 3-month stretch with 'none in sight' as the hot flushes, which had stopped when the cycle put itself right, have now returned. My Mum had 10 years of this... guess I'm going the same way.
i think mom23 is right
so did my sister, scrabs. At 26 she was operated on and they found more thatn they thought, but left her with half an ovary, and she, unbelievably, has had two sons!
Hello mom23!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
doin' great, min! tks for askin'!
I had somany problems, Owl--the fibroid had atypical cells, and I had adhesions everywhere, an ovarian cyst that was huge....it was damn scary to see a gyn oncologist.
wowee scrabs
Does anyone have a clue for the yi 5/16 word please
Your sister was very blessed, Pam
17 yrs since my surgery -- no regrets!
My daughter had to go into a clinic because her Dad and her brother and me put her there to stop her starving herself to death. She had anorexia nervosa in its purest form. She is now a lot more healthy but will never be totally free of it.
she thinks so, scrabs!
None for me either, mom23.
oh, jac..........
I see far too many adolescent girls with eating disorders.
yi+ hook + **e End
hugs to you & your daughter, jac. so lucky to have 3 w/no probs. grateful every day.
yi5 rhymes with your width around the middle
Scrabbs - adhesions are what worry me. I was thinking about asking for a scan to see if womb and bladder had adhered. I had a penduncular fibroid the size of a plum on the outside of my womb when they last scanned 6 or 7 years' ago.
Adhesions are a chronic issue--not much can be done, except surgery to cut them apart
I guess it may or may not be grapefruit-sized now. Depends if the fluctuating hormone levels have shrunk or grown it!
Thank you for the yi 5/16 clue.I just found the word!
fibroids shrink with and after menopause
Daughter was 13 when diagnosed, Mom23. She is now 20.
crikey - so many others with fibroids. Had a great deal of tennis-to-golfball-sized ones removed last year.
I am such a tw4 for taking SOOO long to find tw4!
Scrabbs - I know. Couldn't help wondering if they were causing the weird cycle though.
We women tolerate so many problems with our female organs within us.
LOL, Scrabs. I didn't find tw4 for a while either... and it was in the grid before, I think!
wanted to keep my organs a bit longer, but things are much better now that the tumors are gone, so no regrets.
Does anyone have a clue for the az 6/36 word please
hugs never hurt, jac!
Hello Bash! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
have a good friend who's also early 40s and just decided for a hysterectomy. She has no regrets either.
az + ot4/5
az + strange/ex****/weird
Jellen's clue is far superior to mine.
Hey, Min - great here, you? Just stopped by for a "min" to find a few words. Saw all the fibroids chat. It's amazing what our innards do to us. :)
Thank you for the az 6/36 clue.I just found the word
Re organ removal - I think I must have been an Ancient Egyptian in a previous life... LOL. If they do remove anything, I want it back in a jar, not only to have a look at it for myself but also so it can be buried or burned with me when I finally depart this mortal coil.
Weird, but true.
I'm doing well Bash. Too busy trying to finish to chat.
Mom- Hugs are frequent in our household. Have no worries on that score!
Wow, your daughter was young when she was hospitalized, jac.
Go, Min, Go!
I get so sad when I think of how, throughout the history of womankind, how much suffering there has been with menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, labor, delivery, menopause....esp before medicine understood so much
though, I know that is not unusual with that disease...
isn't that the truth, scrabs!'
my theory: when you're through having kids it should just dry up and blow away!
Scrabbs - operations must have been nightmareish before proper sedation. E.g. amputations, get them drunk and then bash them over the head to saw the limb off. *shudders*
At least we have ibuprofen, naproxen, surgery---imagine no medication for cramps, labor and delivery....well, Featherbee did it drug-free.
well it has to have some purpose. i mean doesn't it fit into the abdomen then when removed do things fall?
Mom - surely not? Or did you just mean the womb? I'm still using the corridor. LOL.
imagine no meds for a bladder infection
(hehe, i'm sitting here rocking nick and just watching chat)
ooh, gotta keep the playpen!
The "love tunnel", Jacula?
Does anyone have a clue for the er 6/21 word please

The to 5/10 word is a kind of dessert marisalsera.
I assume you meant the babblet list, Nut?

i'll email you
Well, it has been a long day. Time for reading and sleep. It has been great chatting with everyone here today. See you tomorrow.

Goodbye Scrabbler! I will see you tomorrow in the log

cant seem to get the clue for tr5/12
mom - me, too. I usually go back to sleep though. LOL
tr5/12 by my tr***; means faithfulness
1st tr5/12 = adjectival sense of tr4/4 (large plant with woddy stem).

Or even woody stem.

I was married with those vows.
Pity hubby didn't mean them!
maybe b/c he didnt understand them...lord knows I dont!
;-)
jk
tr 6/33 word is t + a g***** on your nose marisalsera.
However, should I choose to marry again, it will be those same vows. They meant a lot to me when I said them and I meant them.
tr6/33 both start with tr4/8; one is past tense, the other ends the same as the last word I clued
phone. brb
Maris - well, if his school had let him study Shakespeare maybe he would have done!

I missed that, too, Min.
well, ugly ppl need love too!
may be, jac, but we're approaching #37!
at least they found eachother
Now of course I do not remember people's real names
Or did I miss it? I think I didn't. I think I said that my real name is a book and a film title.
Elmore Leonard first invented me, Quentin Tarantino directed me and Pam Grier played me.
I have not seen stidmama all weekend. Anybody else?
tr4/8
i have found babble very helpful with my problems
I saw Stid on Friday, I think.
The tr 4/8 word is tr plus a c** says moo marisalsera.

Hello bekki! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!

ok mom...thanks
bekki - Hello.
I got over the weekend - THe New Standard Cookery 1933 Woman and Labour 1911 (valued at about $250)
taking one day at a time
z 5/28?

Yes it is
The z 5/28 word rhymes with singer david B**** tizer

well, kids, thanks for the lively and friendly chat. 30 to go--they'll go undone! 'til the morrow! sweet dreams, y'all!
gnite mom
night mom23
i'm still not getting the z
Herin - I think I saw you mention that earlier. I have a book like that... tells women how to please their menfolks and not annoy them after work. My book's a more sexual one though - men are 'beasts' you realise, with 'urges they can't control' and we are given ways to curb those uncontrollable desires in a ladylike and non-threatening fashion. FOFLOL.
Goodbye mom23! I will see you tomorrow in the chat.
Ping the Woman and labour is a very early feminist book has been republished.
'Nightt, Mom.
The zo 5/28 word rhymes with the to5/18 word tizer
Jac is that the Modern home doctor book?
Can't remember the title now, Herin, and it's up in the bedroom (away from children's eyes) where 'himself' is snoring peacefully. He has to be up and about in about 17 mins. I'll check after that when I can piuut the light on.
*put the light on
there is a whole chapter on women and marrage
It has one of those woven fabric covers, as I recall...
ty
My favourite phrase: wise husbands will watch their wives carefully during the first years of marriage and take trouble to learn when these variations of mood occur.
Herin - that sounds familiar - might be the same book.
we4/8...but not sure which one!
def not the 1st one
I have a hole se of blue-covered, but red and white paper jackets over set of books from my Gran/Great Gran. There is some hilarious advice for women re men in those and also some v. funny not quite got the concept stuff yet about science and nature.
I have a lot of early home doctor good house wife books
They're up in the loft though and so you'll have to wait until I go up there to sort it out for the homilies from those books.

You lose the stats after your trial period is up, Mari
it was only my first or second one i finish

also you can have an icon that you choose
trial = 2 weeks
oh, i c

Your trial period lasts about two weeks marisalsera.

min, do you still have your guests?
i cant play the game at all after the trial per is done?
you can play, marisa, you don't get the tiles though
Maris that is why you use LIcketys list
you can use lickety to know what's what - less conveninent though
I dont get it...u mean the letters
