I am 31 on friday and for my birfday party i am baking cookies and cupcakes and fairy bread and whizz fizz and caffeen
please... you are too young for that kiwi
my birthday passed
oh yeah lol
what is fairy bread?
ill have you know kje i do have grey hairs lol
fairy bread is sandwich bread buttered and sprinkled with sprinkles - we call them hundreds and thousands
wear them with pride then : )
KJE it is white bread with butter and sprinkled with 100's of 1000's
oh 'eck no i havent hit 40 yet im still keeping them in hiding lol
all aussie kids have fairy bread at birthday parties at least once in their lives
that does not sound appealing to me
Fairy bread would do well in SF
will stick with herin's cookies
LOL ru - indeed
especially on Halloween
http://tinyurl.com/68n9of this is the bread
RLE this is for my 31st :D
for a treat mine get bread with choc sprinkles

hi flosey -- wasn't hat a horrible night of bridge!
I love vegemite
are you leaving?
wizz fizz is sherbet
sure was jilli - we had a lot of "0"s
who knew?
back again hi to all I missed
Oh and as a dare snorting wizz fizz is not fun (ive not been that stupid)
fungi must live on the east coast... too much energy
usually comes in little paper packets with a tiny sppon
wizz fizz sounds like a sample for the nurse
i'm doing the evil tax - forced by the Evil Husband
spoon;
west coast
bad evil husband, no hugs tonight for him :p
Rlee or is it a scoop?
thanks for the tequila - poof
you are soooo right rlee
Night KJE
nite kje
nite kje...
I'm sure we had a lot of 0s too
like a little spoon
Ru do you know of Pixie sticks?
sandy -- that's a cool icon!
I thought so jill and yours is gorgeous
it wouldn't let me update my profile tho
no herin.. not those either
Am i the only mutant Ozie that eats Vegemite off a spoon?
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww vegemite
ew ew ew ew ew ewwwwwwwwwwww
jilli , I do believe that Canada is very beautiful
me no likee vegemite or marmite
what does vegemite taste like?
kiwi!!! go and wash your mouth out with vegemite!! don't blaspheme!!
Sherbet then Ru? and its not ew Groovy
marmite rocks!! lol
sandy, why couldn't you update your profile?
i used to eat it off the spoon and peanut butter, but mum wacked me so many times i eventually stopped doing it
like sherbet
west, it tastes like an arab's armpit, as they say
west it is delicious - some people compare it with Marmite but marmite is cr@$#5
oh my goodness
LOL West the others are lying!!
an acquired taste sounds like
Rlee i mix the two together
Don't know Jilli but tried plenty of times
May have to pass on the armpit...
it is something most people this is revolting, but we get it fed to us from as early as teething age so we are sort of used to it. it has a unique taste that can't be described
I've tried and tried to like the stuff, but it's horrible
oh Herin i so have to try that
It is so delicious that it couldn't be acquired you would just love it
smart fella, ruru
does it have a vegetable base?
EVERY Aussie loves it so it must be good
yeast, I think
hmmmm
and you eat it out of a jar like peanut butter?
yes it is good, most people make the mistake of putting to much on there bread or toast when they forst try it i found
That is the eternal question what is Vegemite
sandy, did you remember to hit Update Profile? I often forget.
no you eat it on toast or bread and butter
I did Jilli - lots of times
http://www.vegemite.com.au/vegemite/pa ge?PagecRef=1
thanks herin I'll go look
I suggest you email Dr_God then, sandy :)
Herin, it must be like Kentucky Fried - a secret recipe
RLEE there is never such a thing as too much vegemite
if it doesn't work tomorrow Jilli , I will
morning all - are you well?
Hi mari
Rlee, it must be applied sparingly
oh it has vitamin B must have guinness in it
Vegemite dates back to 1922 when a young chemist developed a spread from brewers yeast.
kia ora mari hugs happy babbling
sorry been on the phone missed the last goodness how long of the chat lol
I must be right then it's solid stout
hi mari
the people in canada put to much on when they tried it i meant, me i don't care how thick it is on, i eat it every day on my toast and some time on cracker biscuits at work
hello mari
rlee same here
and tomorrow im going to try it mixed with peanut butter to see if it is yum
Jilli - you must be spoiled for choice with favourite views living in BC :)
you're right, mar, but the one in my icon is special -- did you read the profile?
I did - you really must write that book!
and mari, I yearn for a beach like yours!
We do have beautiful beaches in Scotland - but the sparkling blue sea is missing
back later must cook tea
enjoy herin :)
jilli and mari beautiful landscapes
night all big day for me and I have been stuck for a long time...

going to dive in
morning all
howdy babble land
hiya pug
hi pug and sprite
hi Andree
hi sprite, hi pug
this is a poopy grid
ohoh, infected by Lori, pug? :)
hi jilli! Lovely landscape you have.
not a bit I could have used a "choicer" word
hehehe, Andree, for once you run with the theme :)
lol pug... I know you could :) You are a marvel of self control, you know that.
it's officially considered one of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World!
sprite, I love your woods -- you'd like ours too although they're rather more substantial
ty but I know there are many who would disagree with that assesment!
I have a bit of good news: got out of bed with less pain and more energy this morning, even managed a shower, and am still feeling better than in 2 months :)
because they cannot imagine how you would be without it, pug
oh great, sprite!
yeah spritey!
sprite i have no idea how to change my icon, my son put this one in for me when i joined and there it stays, they had bridges once so i have been with the theme before
oh jilli, I know I would love them! As long as there are places where the light can come through, I love all woods.
but i really appreciate the effort all you clever people put into changing each day
I love your icon, Andree.
not clever, andree -- it's easy
oh dear sprite , now we know where the od** comes from 2 months is a long time between showers, lol
andree i was in the same boat as you now i am an icon junky
lol, andree! Rude!!!
lol Andree, well, I managed the occasional washing. But I cannot express the delight of having showered again :) Forgive me for the insult on your noses, grin.
rude indeed!
i must get one of my kids to show me how, or my grandkids, it seems any 10 year old knows more about computers than i do
it is easy, once you know how, but only do it if you want to. The icon themes are in no way a must, only another way to have fun and learn things.
so glad you are feeling better sprite
go to "my account" then "edit" your little picture and then "search google images" then type in something like "landscapes" and so on
I hardly ever did them until Babs needed more time freed up. And then jilli convinced me it was worth the trouble, lol.
me too, Andree :)
andree, your icon is beautiful
sandy, yours is beautiful too!
are the EX6's "normal" words?
Andree of course your icon is really lovely and fits today's anyway
yes it is jilli but i would like to change it now and again
thx sandy, will try
I couldn't update my profile tho Sprite- don't know whats going on - maybe tomorrow
if you want a step by step help, you can rightclick My Account and open in a new window. Then the babble chat stays available.
not even with control F5, sandy?
pug the one i have is a normal word badly selt and i haven't found the other yet
ok ty will keep monkeying away
control f5??? (you computor expert you)
I keep seeing the biblical Ex...us.
i mean spelled
its there sprite just change last vowel
control F5 is force-refresh, sandy. It usually clears up refresh problems.
i'll try thanks
oh my, who knew that was a word. I apologise. Penalty box for me?
did you get it pug
and then change the last letter for the other. Hello all
hi lyn!
G'd morning Babblers!

hi Ata!

I see my icon is too big if you try and open it, I'll look for another.
hi ata and haz
that bad, Ata?
i take back my offer of clues, the clue queen is here
yes lol. cold and cough and stomach ache and its cold outside TOO!
G'night lyn and hi Ata
But how is Hobbit, more to the point, Ata?
darn, that is a bad deal, Ata. Time for warm cuddly naps and tea with honey.
Andree, your clues are much appreciated!
Haz musta' tiptoed in... G'd mornign Haz!
Hobbit is fine! Yesterday appeared to be Spaniel Evening at the vets. There was Hobbit, a lemon cocker, a black and white english springer, and a very very lovely but very ill welsh springer
I did say hello, Lori!
Oh no! Poor Welshie!
hi haz ! missed your entrance
ill is nasty, but spaniel gettogether sounds good :)
I know :( She either had *very* bad kennel cough or some other very nasty respiratory infection
poor thing
Hopefully there'll be another triumph of veterinary medicine!
she was flopping around, coughing and wheezing, poor baby. she was sooo lovely though
They are pretty, aren't they?
hopefully. it sounded like a good course of antibios would do her good
But nothing untoward for Hobbit? Did she stand nicely for the 'examination'?
awfully! I don't think I've ever actually met one before. Seen pics of them, obviously! And seen them from afar
brb
That's better. My current favourite landscape.
yes, she was an angel. was good I took her in though, glands were horribly blocked
The od4 is like no other.
finall monkeyed that stupid PS5 thank god
she has a new favourite vet. He's Irish. and quite beautiful to look at!
How did we let him escape? Young and handsome?
Hi finally made it back to Babbleland
dinner time, bye all and happy babbling
bye andree
Bye Andree.
I don't know! But you did! He is quite quite lovely, and Hobbit loves him. She's seen him 2 or 3 times for the PP now, and she's much better with him than anyone else. You obviously send them out well trained in spanielness!
I'm just back from the land of handsome men...what a feast for the eyes.
The scenery was nice too!
A land where the men are more handsome than here? Where can this Shangri-la be?
Well, I'm glad that Hobbit is more comfortable now. What are we going to have to do for you?
Sicily. I'm still reeling.
So you've seen the volcano? Or were you too busy gazing at the decorative men?
I have tea and cookies :) I finally decided that cookies might prove eatable when nothing else is!
Volcano? There was a volcano?
hi Haz
hi Ata and Hobbit
So they really were that decorative...
Hello loredana.
hi there Liz and goodnight andree
one of my exes was Sicilian. he really was decorative too
dear me, Hobbit is having a mad 5 minutes. being all whirly and twisty and bouncing between rooms like a pogo dog
Seriously, our patio overlooked the Bay of Naxos and Etna (icon is the view from it). Etna was a bit fizzy when we were there, so added to the entertainment.
It looks lovely - what was your weather like, liz?
are the DE7-8 pair "normal" words ? or am I just being dense? (my last 2 & have come back to then countless times)
back, glad you have a view of our babblet, liz
I'm suffering very badly from sun-lag. 24 - 27 and sunny every day.
*had
fairly normal words on the de 7 8s
compound word
Oh, that would have been lovely, liz. We've been sun starved for so long.
you will already have them both
ok will try again ty
And keep a straight face when you find them.
thanks sandy, that did it for me. Think expressionless face, pug.
sandy how you feeling last time you werent the best and how is nikky
they are more normal adjectives than nouns though
16 to go
ty haz!
Unless you're a really, really bad cook?
and that be fireworks!
Fireworks, pugmama? Congratulations!
wtg pugmama!
well done pug
can I change one of those i's for a T?
ty beloved babble clqan
I'd better go and have some breakfast, though a bowl of cornflakes isn't what I really need. I need foccaccia and prosciutto and olives and tomatoes and basil.......ah well. BBL

You're home, liz.

inviting wood Sprite with many sprites and elves in there
those are my favorite, lobo
wtg bfsog@
well done bfsog
do the fireworks ever get changed, such as to a festive theme around chrimbo
Good grief, bf. It took years to get Dr-G to give us this much.
no, never, bfsog. THe only change we had was the lickety fireworks, but they haven't been updated in ages.
there, I have a prettty view now. Just for Lore, another pic of Greenland, flying between camp and the local army base
beautiful, Ata, both view and pic!
that picture was used in National Geographic *smug*
deservedly so, Smugalante!
Oh Thanks Ata makes me feel cooler already will go there one day suppose you already been Ata?
yep, spent 3 months huddling in a tent half way up the east side
small wonder you are feeling ill :P
oh yay Ata you have the best life !
it was a good few years ago!
quite an impact those things can have
Ata, you know the way I scan the magazines on the shelf? There was the funniest headline the other day, not relating to anybody famous, though. 'The day I lost my fallopian tubes'. Did she leave them behind on the bus, do you think?
I hate when that happens.
Is the bus company lost property office not very good?
she must have left them with her marbles
That would have come under 'My mental torment'
now for Haz I've changed to my favourite photo I've ever taken!
People on the bus are shy about those things too. They don't like to say "Ma'am, pardon me, is that your ovary?"
loooool. wow. hard things to lose, one would think!
Ooooh!
A sea dog!
oh my, delightful pic!
yep!
I know, Lori, and so embarrasing if people pick up marble and start asking about glass eyes.
was on one of the boats going between the Scilly Isles. I've always loved that pic
funny, isn't it, Lori.
it is brilliantly taken, Ata. Perfect timing.
The dog looks like a member of the crew, on the look out for anything untoward.
I think she was the captain's dog, if I remember rightly
Then she probably WAS a member of the crew.
she certainly looked very at home
I'd lvoe to take Hobbit on a boat. Until she jumped overboard after a gannet or something
that is slightly less perfect
Ata, did your lights turn out okay?
Down to 22 on the first sweep, and may i just say, the d on the right side, is defective.
he's still here *sigh*
well done LoriP
why do electricians etc always turn up when you just want to spend the day dying quietly in bed!
nice going, Lori
Oh well. It'll be great when it's finished - you have to keep telling yourself this.
It's the law of England, Ata. They are contractually bound by it.
luckily he's rather decorative, so it's not as bad as it could be
There you are. Every cloud has a silver lining.
this is the second grid recently where deodar has been a phantom
that is evil. Tasty lad while you are in no mood for games.
Oooooh, so, so, so close to my fave word deodar.... :D
de6/24 you mean, of blessed and immortal memory?
Chat lag aside, was this a simultaneous mental bonding moment?
Why am I starting to shake. What do these hives mean?
looks like it, lol
(I'm hearing X files music, Lori)
I can't remember what deodar means, but I'll always remember it!
oooo!
We've all gone insane at the same time....
insanity shared is insanity doubled?
Honestly, I have 5 words from that d. I protest!
It was the same when I was trying to clue that de6/24. Mass insanity.
insanity shared is insanity squared
Center d grey, right d now cancelled due to lack of interest
oh yes. that horrid word.
Good thing it's not a word today, because it's impossible to clue.
Has your interest begun to dr5/14 in that d?
Good Morning...another lovely grid o vowels.
We can just say "Lori's favourite word"
It's not impossible to clue, it's just that you're depending on people to have an ounce of wit in solving it.
G'd morning red
true
hi there Red
stick stick rod line hump
I mean, who doesn't know who the Camelot king is? How hard is it to imagine a backwards de4/5?
very
Anything bigger than a 6 among these devious d's?
de7/8
Ahhh, there's my problem! Muchos grassy ass.
harder than we could possibly imagine. apparently
Well, time I was doing other things, so I'll say farewell. Back later!
*hugs haz and la glitterata*

Bye bye!
There's that telepathy again..... Bye!

I still have 3 d's left from the right. Ack
I have them all, so if you want clues? There is a very stupid pt like word for what you do with a car.
that's to do with herding animals really :)
I'm down to 14, so panic and disgust won't set in until later.... :D
ah! *looking it up now*
I take it all back. A perfectly normal word. Just didn't know it.
*grins* it's perfectly normal, but alwyas sounds wrong
very much so, lol. Have been drilled in the irregular verbs!
it sounds wrong even to native english speakers, so don't worry, sprite :)
thanks Ata :)
I only have 1 da word, is it a da word 'yer talkin' about?
nope a dr5/18, dr6/30 combo
2 da words....
but there's at least 2 da
just the 2 da
I'm just going to shut up, and let Lori speaj my words for me :)
I have dr 5/18 6/33 combo, so aha! Need this thingy 'yer discussing
oops. sorry. I meant dr6/33. sorry! the ones like the past tense of make a car go?
I think Ata meant dr5/18 and 6/33, actually
as she said herself, lol
Dang . The 6/33 is stoopid
*and run round to the start of the convo again* :D
lolol, one of us, meaning me, is lacking focu at the moment......
*focus even
lolol
omg me too. am just entering random letters every now and then. and making typos
am down to 4 and doing the same thing
all I can see is opsin. gah
gah, finally got the last re5. Monkeying can be helpful.
Yup, and despite the significantly obvious lack of a t, I typed in educate. Multiple times.
ah, don't start me on the subject of a T. I want one to go with that c.
amazing how we can convince ourselves into these words!
and there is fireworks
yay sprite!
funny little grid it was, lol. Can I help at all before I go do other things?
I'm fine!
Congratulations sprite!

Down to 11, and started typing in rood again.....

I keep trying podder and pedder
because they should be words
I keep trying to past tense the carbonnated beverage. No luck yet.

Well, found my last 4. That affords me a modicum of dignity.
yay!
if I try eved enough, will it work?
No. Stop. It ain't happenin'!
well where are my last 2 e's then! dammit!!!
Good morning, abject apologies for tardiness.
Got the stoopid ex 6's?
you missed me retelling the vet episode last night! the spanielry :)
G'd morning FM
Have you 2 scared everyone else off or was it Ata's tales of Hobbits vet visit that did it?
both :)
It could be a hygiene issue, who knows.
FM, omg. I've been watching Mandelson being taunted - I mean fired questions at - by MPs on Sky News. omg. He is - slimy
lol thought so. good grid again.
glad I don't have sky then.
Oooh, sound an s. One s ta' go.....
the so6/27 had me head scratching for a while
MP guy: What do you think about ... Slimebag: that was a decision from far above my pay grade *sits back looking smug* MPs: oh you suck
Still under the weather Ata?
yes *sigh* but better today than yesterday. Managed to eat cookies
ah cookies - the cure all :)
im stuck with 3 x p, 1 x c and 1 x d to find
well when my stomach has rebelled at nearly every bit of food for the last two days ... if it wants cookies, it can have cookies!
***perks up*** so 6/27? wheeeeeeee
absolutely!
I have the c's if 'yer stuck
I am going to attempt a jacket potato at lunchtime!!!
ca6/30
thanks Lori but I think I'll stick it out a bit longer. the so we would think of as 2 words in a sentence but enable of course knows better.
got ca6/30
I looked it up in dic.com, and it says that the so6 is a word on its own but - oh wait, I'll paste it in, I can't explain
ca, a 4 or a 5 then
very salmony
ah its the 5 thanks
–adverb at all; in any case; of any kind; in any way (used with generalizing force after who, what, when, where, how, any, all, etc., sometimes separated by intervening words): Choose what thing so6 you please.
Blank on the so, but it'll come to me. No. really. :p

how are you tonight elder
sandy, had a restless night so tired but ok and your self ?.
i have 15 left and its becoming frustrating
I had a relapse of my virus thing but now i'm better and it better be permanent - i hate being sick
Ido not like this grid today but that maybe because I am tired.
hate those restless nights- my husband sleeps all night , the rat!
this grid is grinding
Sandy, yes those virus's are horrid they can hang around for ages and just when you start to feel better, bang ! you feel yukky again.
my daughter's boyfriend lives in a rural type part of essex
we love him, he has a good sense of humour
Sandy, oh does he ? where abouts ?.
don't know but i will find out - I have never been to Englan d
diana, the daughter, has been three times
that must be hard to keep a relationship going, when the distance is so far.
too many e,s!:(
need help with the po 5/18 please
Too many of everything Cross. :)
no elder , he lives here now
Oh, well that would make it easier .lol

a lovely tropical resort town
Crikey, a long trip either way, to meet up.
i must be losing my mind..around this letter p are..e,o,a,n,s,i,o,d...no r:(
teaching is a hard job , Elder, especially up in our North- lots of Aboriginal children whose parents don't even feed them meals let alone care whether they are at school
Diana takes fruit to school for them
think of vacuumn ing cross it rhymes with the brand name
Sandy, so a challenge for her in many ways.
great for holidays Elder and sure is a challenge for her.
Tries to rescue crossys sanity by pointing out is a po5/18 not a pr that you want :)

FMitch I aim to please :)

mm guess so...6 hours ahead..keep forgetting
thats cos it starts with an a sandy *grin*
my wife can burn water,i do the real cooking:)
Sandy, we are good girls, we are, we have no relatives sent over to Australia.

thks again , FMitch.

monkey how is your cat
Hello!
Fine!!!! The results came back: just fat and blood cells, no cancer! Just an atypical fatty mass.
great news, I have been thinking about it
Thank you! How sweet!
are you getting it removed
No, it's not bothering her at all nor interfering with her movement so there's no point in putting her through that.
mornin babblers!
good decision monkey
Hi there! Too much distracting Dutch in the grid today.
evening eva
Oever, dop, spoed, dader...
Kje gave me the number and count for teh bottom center A but darned if I can see it... little help?
AU+ not mom

thanks Bea
YW
or you could have been doing housework monkey!
I'll be doing that soon enough...
9 left now claire
back, one call after another.
any people with medical (specifically dermatological) knowledge in the house?
Layman,s but reasonably extensive... what's up?
hello Monkey, Flosey, Claire Bzz and anyone else who arrived whilst I was missing.
Hi!
I've been to a dermatologist. Does that count? =)
in the last 2 years or so, i seem to have developed these really dry spots of skin on my legs that come and go (especially prevalent in the winter, when its extra dry) i have some on my legs now + theyre SUPER itchy... ive tried moisturizing, but its not getting rid of them... any suggestions?
bzz , I used to work for a dermatologist
hey
Cetamacrogol. Try that for a while, a month or more.
is that OTC? do they sell that here?
It's an over-the-counter cream that replaces the skin's natural oils. Sold worldwide as far as I know. Derived from sheep wool oils.
Try something wit a steroid in it, Eva.
all good suggestions but take care with steroid creams and apply thinly
If that doesn't work try sudocrem, but that just sits there getting wiped onto everything around you forever so I'd try it as a second resort.
No steroids in my two suggestions.
probably solar keratoses
Is the X used at all that anyone knows of?
precancerous? these legs rarely ever see the light of day...
in two ex words ex 6/36 and ex 6/36
Thank you!
Almost half way. Need to get some bread started. TA. *poof*
solar keratoses are caused by sun damage and are first stages of skin cancers but very common and only surface type - not melanomas- get them checked by the doctor
Can you clue those ex's? I think I forgot my brain at the party.
hopefully not that, sandy! but i am planning on a DRs visit in the future anyway...
I once asked my boss "what is a safe time for sun exposure" he replied "no sun exposure at all"
Eva, pop to the docs and get checked out it sounds like excema but it could be many things, unlikely to be cancerous.
My doctor called my spots like that "aging".
i was thinking it might be eczema
Do have it glanced at, for sure.
sandy -- thats about what i get! heh
solar keratoses are so common here, most people have them. they are dry spots on the skin
It sounds like a kind of excema, but the term is as broad as dermatitis.
melanomas however can be in places that the sun has never seen
Eva, yes and in my haste spelt wrong.
Eva, I can see your leg exposed in your icon!
lol
hah, true! its such a rare occurrence...
Can I get a clue for teh ex'x?
Eva, as the say a nice turn of the ankle.:)
i have had some moles tested in the past + thankfully all came back fine... but yes, this is a case for mister doctor man...

Thanks lynxx, was just stuck on that one
thanks lynxxx....that's all the biggies out of the way
hi lynxxx
ex6.36 a departure - ends in OverSize. The other one changes from plural letter to vowel
Hello all.
hello Haz
TY lynxx
grayed my e
hi, haz!
Hi haz :-)
dosa
Hello lynxx and TO and Katie too! Does the day go well?
I always try that TO... love those things
ty lynxx
? i am still searching for the properly mangled exit
alas, enable does not recognize ethnic cuisines
very well thanks Haz, been to Leeds & back and presented my paper which was approved so smiles all round
Did the day go well, no...I was trying to sew and you know how that goes!
Good for you!
TO - think second book of bible
You were trying to sew, lynxxx? Haven't you learned from my mistakes?
How about you?
i got that much ty kje
I'm fine - was doing my first day of volunteering at a local primary school, delivering a programme for Young Enterprise. It went fine, thankfully.
but the last three still elude me
the firsy do4?
That must be so rewarding, kids can be so enthusiastic
do4 extinct bird
do4 - bird
They were fun - as predicted by husband they found the stickers before they were supposed to!
don't you think it was kind of doomed to exticntion with a name like do4
Lol they come with a built in sticker magnet, my niece and nephew always find where they are hidden
There just seems to be something magical about stickers. And although the children were P4, they haven't lost their love of colouring in.
kje, have you surrendered to the grid or is your flag just missing?
that's lovely, haz.
yes what's with all of the flagless folk?
I should surrender... but, no, apparently babble does not have an austrian flag
It's one hour a week for five weeks. We're looking at 'Our Community' - next week we'll work out what to do with an empty shop in an imaginary town.
I am working on a new town and I asked my brother to ask his class on what they would like to see, some of their answers were fantastic. He asked his harder to teach pupils and they were great
thanks kje
Yes, sometimes you need the innocence of what would be great rather than the negativity of adults saying 'You don't want to do that'
if we get the go ahead I have promised to go in and explain some of the things they wanted and what we are doing about them
uh, OK harp
That would be so good for them, Katie, to see how an idea can be put into practice.
for the do4 (delayed response here)
As the town will be being built for 20 years they are the age of people who will be living in it so it seemed only right
lol - got it
is anyone else finding the site slow? i think it's my connection
What's going to come first - or will homes and shops etc be put up at the same time?
they were impressed someone as normal as a teacher would know someone developing a town, he reckons his street cred has gone up as his sister is 'important' - they have strange ideas about important!!
it is slow here... and lickety is yesterday's... so in general, not a good day for me in babbleland
ah...i have ca4/6 and ca5/14, what am i missing pelase?
It is an eco-town so homes, schools, public transport, shops etc all have to hit at the same time to make sure the residents get into good habits early
The jobs will grow with the town but we are hoping to have some at the start as well as everything else
Prince Charles will be pleased.
ca6,30
ca6.30 which ends in yr father
Is the town going to be designed so that all the buildings kind of flow with each other?
ca6 - toward the tail
ty lynxxx
anatomy term
Some cities are glorious because the buildings work together in their architecture, newer ones can look bitty in comparison.
and i have ud5 cow part - the other?
That's the idea. It will have different styles, sizes and tenures to make sure it is a mixed community in terms of age, race and income. There will be three neighbourhoods which will probably be quite distinct
ud4 -u plus Spanish number.
ty. that was not one to miss. now hta bottom a is vexing me terribly
It sounds good - any normal town has a reasonable mix of ages etc so you're wise to replicate that rather than go for something that will only appeal to one age group.
nm
It's the best project I have ever worked on but as you can imagine we have a lot of opposition, still fingers crossed
a vairaion of my fav animal to find in the grid
Opposition from people whose land is to be used?
People who live near the site, 15000 houses causes uproar!
If all goes well, when does it start? And is it likely to be affected with the economic problems?
it probably won't have homes for sale until 2012 and the market should have picked up by then. The one I took through today is for 698 homes in the centre of Leicester and that will start building at the same time.
kje, I got today's lickety
So, are you really just involved at the planning stage, or will you hopefully see the project begin, at least?
clue for pi 4/5 please
Is it government who builds these huge housing developments Katie. And are any low cost housing? Often wondered how this works in the UK
I usually do 3 years in the job which is enough to get the funding, do the legals and planning permission and let the first contract. A job I started 4 years ago is going to finish summer next year so they are all long jobs
similar to leaning tower different end.
kje, you still here?
It must be really interesting to see the project take shape.
need help with ov6 have the ov6 which is past tense of above
i have 2 od words, 1 oo word, 1 op word and 2 ov words - missing?
ov6 compound - don't ov** ** it now Peri
peri - take it easy (opp)
ty, lyn and Owl
I work for a Government Agency in regeneration and we support projects either through funding or knowledge. It depends where it is and what it needs. In the grand scheme of things it's not much but we have big projects and can make a big difference to local areas. For example in Corby we helped to part fund a scheme to build a new Civic Centre, relocate the college build apartments and the Council built a new swimming pool. Because all this was taking place the shopping centre owners did and extension. in addition we are building a new railway station so the impact on the town has been tremendous

ca
ca5/14 - to rhyme with Spanish father
clue for po 5/18 please
I thought it wasn't too weird.
need help with od6 please
ca + start of pictures in your head at night
od6 ends in a scarlet colour
od 6= having a smell
Thanks, temple owl and haz
po5/18 =PO + latin for eggs?

thanks for od clues, looking...

Haz sounds like you had a good morning :)
may i have the ocunt for the as words please?
Dear goodness. Why did I mention singing when VI is here? Will I never learn?
Man I feel like a cartoon with D's, E's, and O's spinning around my head like stars!
=P
there aren't any as words TO
4 ad, 1 ae, 2 ap 1 au
Yes, FM, it was fun. I've been doing this for a few years now, but this was the first time to deliver this particular programme.
it comes to something when the re's are the easiest words :-)
non wonder i can't find them
i menat ad words
4 x ad, 1 x ae, 2 x ap 1 x au
see my post below, Owl
two left to go and I'm stuck.
TO, I love the phrase - non wonder. It should be applied to all things ordinary.
help with da5 please
Stuck, mixi? When we're here to help?
ok missing as - have ad5x2 and ad6 ty fm and peri
plural of da4
ad6 is past tense of ad5/12
ad4/5 - a plus Spanish number
ty! gee i am issing the gimmess cnsistently - time for a walkie.
sheesh, thanks mixi, hate it when I miss the plurals
Enjoy your walk, TO.
however, i do [rotest that ad5/12ee is not a word. i want to be an ad5/12ee.
Bye, TO.
I am only missing the de7 and de8.
lol TO
well I suppose I should say hello seeing as the rest of you are here!
i just got the de7/8
geez i just washed my hands and can't do a thing with them :/
it's what the straight man in a comedy duo does most of the time, while the other guy cracks funny jokes]
de7/8 compound, sayng a joke with a straightface
Hello, Ata!
Hi ata & josh
lol TOwl - I was wondering
g'day
hello to you, ata! and josh too,
hi Josh
Fireworks!
Yay for mixi!
Congrats Mixi!
I thought I'd show you my cute new icon :D
hello hello
wtg, mixi
Hello Ata? Just donned my face mask and scrubbed my hands with disinfectant. No germs allowed here.
congrats mixi Hey Ata
hi Ata
Uh oh. Is Ata contagious?
20 left here
off to merriam wbester.com - see you later and ty for the help!
hi Wild
She may be. Take no chances, that's my motto.
*hands mask to Vi*
Is it a virus? Is it THE virus?
*breathes over everyone*
Thanks, Fi.
congrats mixi
Bye TO!
dr5/18 please
*jumps back from computer screen*
dr5/18 - think cars
look at my icon! look at my icon! *demands*
Is it the vet or the electrician?
sheesh, thanks Haz
no! its me and Hobbit!
(She's very demanding when she's ill, isn't she?_
You're welcome, peri.
lol! WHy aren't you smiling!?!
*perks up* or a courier?
It's you?
Shouldn't that be Hobbit and I?
because I was holding a camera and trying not to get licked!
You mean you're breathing your germs over Hobbit as well?
It's a very good photo ata
*stands back for the pick on ata half hour*
I just like the way she's looking up at me. it's soooo cute. *stops being demanding now*
Hobbit looks like she's gazing adoringly, as well she sould be!
*should
awe lovely pic Ata
nice picture, Ata
She'll not be so adoring when she catches the virus.
Whew, Haz is very strict today!
I had to cut me off cos my chin looked fat LOL
Just noticed your picture too Katie ...usual position when not running all over the countryside?
after all the dogs coughing in the vet's yesterday, I'll be surprised if she stays well!
This is Bio-Security Central.
Notice she's trying to put the blame on other dogs, now, Haz.
She'll have had kennel cough vaccine recently, though, won't she?
I'm noticing.
My Sunday position, We have a new sofa since then so I can lie stretched out all the way, Crumble does like to join me :-)
yes, she has. about 9 months ago
who - Ata?
can't see the 1st re5/14
oh but this poor Welsh Springer at the vet. It was heartrending
re5/14 - perform a sum again
re5.14 total up again
I haven't told Spangle about it in case it was one of her relatives and she insists on visiting.
sheesh, thanks Haz
and lynxxx
gotta run bbl
7 left, bbs
I suspect she has a mobile biohazard zone round her kennel! the one down here, I mean!
Poor peri. Your legs are going to be sore from kicking yourself.
Spangle is a bit funny today. Not too keen on her walk this morning and draggy this afternoon. If only we had a decent vet nearby.
lol
oh nooo. poor Glitterata. What will she do? The lack of decent vets in that part of the world is just awful
Yeah. You don't want one of those hamfisted local country vets looking at poor SPangle, of course!
Lol Haz. I have taken to giving mine a day or two (especially as it's Crumble) she tends to have 'man flu' and becomes pathetic very early.
We may have to get a referral to your handsome Irish vet, Ata. He sounds the business.
Perhaps she wants to hiberate in her cosy kennel with the ensuite and digital TV
you know what he threatened to do last time ........
he is rather pretty. tall, dark hair, blue eyes
It's strange. She hasn't been sick, just looks a bit woebegone. She's not herself and I don't know why.
who threatened to do what to whom?
=( She's lost her lustre?
ours is a South African and very nice, even when at 40 years old I stood sobbing because my hamster was ill.
the evil vet person threatened to inject her with ..... *unmentionable things*
When she had a sore paw or something before, husband threatened Euthatol. It's used for .... killing dogs.
*GASP*
who knows what he'd do with all-round malaise!
awwwww poor Katie
Yikes!
Haz - that's how crumble gets - extra cuddles are needed. Mr Mari often likes to talk about one way trips to the vets
Do you think I'd be better not to tell him?
The problem is he's such a 'clinician' that he'll pick up immediately that she's not right.
the problem is he probably should notice on his own
remove all needles from his bag before you do
It used to frustrate me that he could walk in the door, take one look at ailing child and declare 'That child is ill!'
Thankfully he never reached for the Euthatol for them either.
to which I hope you replied 'you fix it then'
Seriously, he loves Spangle, he'l only joking about the Euthatol. I think.
He always wanted to know why I hadn't rushed them to the doctor. I erred on the side of caution, no rushing to doctors unless strictly necessary.
looooool. we know he loves Spangle. really. honest
I'm sure he is, hubby used to joke about dropping fuggy out the window but was really upset when he took him to the vets for me
As you rightly point out, Haz, his daughters survived him. That's a good indication!
clue for re 4/6 please
Still thinking about another hamster but don't know if I could cope with going through the loss again in two years time
He was always much better at doling out medicine to the children than I ever was. He has a kind of no nonsense approach!
re4/6 - an excessive scarlet
though he does think that dogs are better sleeping outside ....
and lets face it giving a child medicine must be easier than giving a cat a tablet :-)
Oh, he's convinced of it Ata. Maybe Spangle's malaise is because of seven years' outdoor sleeping?
*anything* is easier than giving a recalcitrant cat a tablet!
can you ask him why he thinks that? I'd really like to know the official vet reasonning!
I would think so. Poor unloved Spangle
Mari & I have 6 between us, the worst is Katie (yes that is indeed the cat's name) who can rip you to shreds at 60 paces if she thinks you have a tablet, grown men have sobbed at the thought
Because they're dogs and not humans and dogs sleep outside.
what about cats?
So Crumble sleeping on the pillow wouldn't go down well then?
what about Mexican hairless dogs or Chinese crested dogs that have no fur?
I've never asked him about cats. Although his dad had cats and they slept outside, I think.
Cats shlould sleep in the barn or stable and catch their food?
He doesn't recognise those breeds as being dogs!
I'd love to see him telling Mme Silverclaw that LOL
very sensible!
lol
He's probably influenced by so many people treating their dogs as children, not establishing rules and then wondering why the dogs try to rule the roost.
absolutely!
Oh my Crumble has fallen off my lap in shock and Ruby is daring me to do it, Casty is upstairs on the bed so I would need to wake her for a reaction
So he wouldn't tolerate a dog in a dress then ;)
*doesn't look guiltily at Hobbit*
poor Crumble!
He's had people literally trembling because they're too scared to hold their dog. It snarls, they shake.
oh how stupid
Actually for all I ad*** my cats we do have very strict rules in the house. Like children they need boundaries. over time i've even found the use of their name of the 'look' works on them as well as hubby
Is this the point where I put that the views expressed are not necessarily those of the management?
It's true, Ata - he can't understand how people can have any pleasure in owning a pet that just despises them.
there's management?
I have a friend with 4 cats who has no rules and they lead her a life of misery. I've told her she will need to keep them for life as noone would put up with there behaviour
lol Katie
My point exactly, Katie.
I would argue that those who treat their pets "like children" probably don't know how to treat children very sensibly, either.
*their (hangs head in shame at poor use of language)
sister literally runs her life around her cat. Though, obviously, she can't do much else! But it just gets silly
You're right, Vicuna. They haven't grasped the gruel and grovel routine at all.
I'm glad to see you're ashamed, Katie. Can't have you morphing into MLF.
*wonders about a town built by MLF*
Katie, your apology is accepted. But mind it doesn't happen again!
Oh Ata. You'll only make yourself sicker.
*wondering about the gruel & grovel routine*
Katie, where is your new town? It's not down on the south coast, is it?
Gruel and grovel - as applied to pets and children. No treats and oodles of respect.
no food!
Who's doing the grovelling in this equation?
No it's in Leicestershire
Pets and children should grovel to owners and parents. It's the law of England.
oh - thought the pets and chldren needed to grovel for their gruel
phew. there's a new eco-town being planned down in Ford. and the locals are soooooo up in arms about it, I'd hate to be involved in that
Had to laugh, hubby is ill and the cats were playing him up by not gettign out of the garage. A few strong words and they are now out :-) He is a push over
Well, yes, lynxxx, you make a good point. No giving of gruel without some grovelling should be the rule.
Ata it is part of the same programme we won't know if we are shortlisted, I think our locals are even madder :-)
*until March next year
'Planner declares locals are unhinged'
Good heavens just turned over to Ch4 and there were 2 guys wrestling in oil or something equally slippery
'Locals declare planners are mad'
"Planner offers to rehinge locals."
urf, I doubt it. every road, every house has "NO ECOTOWN" scrawled all over it
goodness me!
Lol Haz - maybe I should have said angrier!!
boy Katie's tough. Husband is sick and she makes him sleep in the garage. At least Haz only makes Spangle sleep outside
"Hinge Prices Skyrocket"
Sleeping in the garage would be a good way of preventing germ spread. Good thinking Katie.
We have locals who do not see the irony of driving a massive 4x4 with a 'stop the ecotown' sticker in the back window
It's all very well these huge developments bu thwne they try to shoe horn them into existing communities and end up without enough infrastructure to support them e.g drains, water, parking hospitals etc
I shouldnt be here........Im out the kitchen really, but after a day in Tescos (including lunch) I had to have a 5 min break....so Hi all
lol
That isn't irony, Katie! That's completely consistent!
Evening cait You deserve a bit of babble time then!
hi Caitlyn
Not when they say that they want to protect the environment
Oh Tescos. Have a sit down, caitlyn.
Ah, yes! There you have your irony! lol
yes, it's quite ridiculous
*passes cait a chilled glass of vino*
I have a nice tub of garlic olives though I shall put them in the pb
But Katie's project is going to have all the infrastructure happening along with the houses.
4x4s should be banned on proper roads
FM - that's the point of eco towns they have to come with the infrastructure for example with ours 7 primary schools and 2 secondary schools, but the down side is you have to build on countryside
Mmmm thats hit the spot FM thanks (mother was a wee bit trying also ) LOL
Tesco's for the whole day?
It was quite a few hours Katie, you havent met my mother LOL
I have a scheme that big gas-guzzling vehicles should be required to have on them a warning label like cigarettes : This vehicle is dangerous to the health of the environment and contributes to our dependence on foreign oil. And the owners should be required to purchase the labels.
that's a bit harsh. all day!
and the people who use them wouldn't give a stuff
I don't think I could do that even for my mother, lines have to be drawn!
Neither do smokers, but I still think it's a good idea! lol
4*4s - such a status thing here - every 'young' mother has them - safer for the kids (!) - a ridiculous overkill
As I said you havent me my mother, I will say no more LOL
the London Mayor was going to charge them £25 per day for getting in to London but I think it got dropped when they changed to Boris. I thought it was a good idea
me too
I wouldn't mind if the women driving the 4x4 could acutally drive them!
I drive a hybrid car so at least the protestors can't complain about mine!
Goodness, look at the time! I must be getting on to other jobs for a bit, but with a few words left I'll surely be back. I'll leave it to you all to solve the world's problems while I'm gone. Good luck!
Bye Vi catch you next time :)
bye dear!
Have a good day Vi, see you tomorrow
I've got to start making some food, so I'll head kitchenward. What a shame, I was enjoying the discussion! Bye for now!
the parking is great FM, when I worked at MK the highlight of the day was watching the 4*4s getting parked particularly round Christmas time
Bye vic
Bye Haz
Bye Haz, is it okay if we pop over to you for supper please?
Bye!
bye Vi & Haz
Bye Haz

I can feel a nag coming on........stop grazing and eat a proper meal thats an order!!
I did I have a good breakfast and lunch and then just sort of carried on nibbling
I pulled some spag. sauce out of the freezer. Made some homemde french bread to go with it, but it went flat.=(

Quick update on Spangle.
How is she?
congrats Katie!
glitterata! *hugs her*
Husband has been home, took one look, swift examination and has declared what the problem is. He's headed straight back to the surgery for painkilling injections etc.
YAY Katie!
noooo! what's wrong with her?
what's wrong?!
Oh bless, just check the contents of the phial :-)
Whats wrong?!!!
She's very tender over her right shoulder - squealing when he examined her. I have no idea how it happend. It wasn't my fault- HONEST!
congrats on fireworks Katie
Awe Spangletina!
We know how much you love her, any questions point out that you let her sleep inside
oh poor thing!! she must have bounced wrongly on that shoulder
I got a scolding for not having phoned him earlier.
poor Spangle!
Still, at least he has sprung into action. You see, we do love her really!
po** Haz
We know you do!
And she'll stand patiently and let him inject her. She's a very good patient.
She's hiding under the desk, maybe she knows what's coming!
you love her just as much as I love Hobbit and Katie loves her whole menagerie and Lynx loves Stew etc etc
I'm off to search for some tea, take care of her Haz, i'll get an update tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon too Ata
sensible girl :)
I love my mug of tea, it is soooo good and warm ;)

Well I must go now.......I was only coming on for % mins, Bye FM See you all tomorrow, bye
Bye Cait, have a nice evening
and thats the reason I don't often get Sunday papers as I never managed to get through everything!
:D
Hi folks! Walter is in bed after an EXHAUSTING day and I have returned to ask for clues for my last 2 words. I made it to four left before hitting the list. So... who canhelp me with du4/7 (second one) and dr5/14 (second one)?
fireworks
Yay Boobear!
dr - flop, wilt du - a little mallard, minus 2 letters
2nd dr5/14 is present tense of the 7
Congrats Boo!
No, that's the third one... I need teh second. Working on baby duck clue...
ty all. Have a great afternoon. bye
Thanks, ATA, that just leaves the dr!
add a cons to the dr4/5
dr - same as the first, one vowel changed
COOL! Thank you [both]!!! FINALLY fireworks!
congrats MG
Thank you! Been a long day, I need small victories.
We went to a costume party that was not suited to Walter and he did not have a good time and we couldn't leave because our ride wasn't ready... for a four-year-old, that's stressful, and so the rest of the day was a bit wearing for both os us.
Plus I finalized my resume (in Dutch) ad worte a letter of intent (in Dutch) and sent them in for a job at social services... technically they want someone with the Bachelor's, but I get that in February, and I sure need paid work... fingers crossed, please!
why was it not suited to poor Walter?
It was set up through the English Speaking Mom's Group, and it's a school holiday, so it was thronged with pushy older kids, one idiot declared that ujntil the hostess returned we could not feed our kids so for an hour we all had to hold our little ones back from a giant table loaded with snacks, and it was loud and WAY too crowded, but outside was a torrrential, freezing downpour.
oh dear!
But in the pumpkin toss he did win a box of pink slime, which kept him occupied for many hours later.
Also the venue was absolutely LOVELY for us older folks but full of stuff teh little ones were not supposed to "get".
wise to always carry so'nn'e snacks with you for such e'nn'ergencies
Indeed. It just had NOT occurred to me it would be necessary.... Th hostess was shocked that this other lady had declared teh snacks table off limits. I won't go without again, though, believe me.
baggies of cheerios & chex are very popular here
mmmm chex mix
Walter likes cheese flavored rice cakes; I should have packed some along. But that wasn't his main reason for not liking it. Poor kid, just a noisy and crowded and chaotic party, he hates that. BUt he did find a place where he could play with his slime and look out the window in peace.
it is part of learning to coexist with a wide range of people ; ''y 2 have never liked loud scenes, but a part of life
And tomorrow we can go buy a bell for his bike, because he overcame his fear yesterday and rode it all the way to the end of the street (four blocks) and back. That'll be a good thing.
Poor little guy, though, he kept saying he just wanted to go back to school. He's only been three weeks and he feels that way. He doesn't grok this vacation.
vacation at this time?
"Fall vacation", oneweek.
how odd!
By the way, I do agree, NDan, but it made for a long day.

um... yes. "GA" is abbreviation for U.S. state of Georgia... the peach is their state fruit. :-D I forgot you were from the other side of the pond.
aahh....... it begins to make sense !!!
on the other hand, you shoulda seen me when I saw the pic of my mother climbing over one of your English stiles in the country near bournemouth...
we don't have many of those here!
Oh yes... I bet you don't have stiles, do you !!
:-D always something new to see or experience!
Did she enjoy Bournemouth and it's surrounds ?
oh yes! and (yesterday, I think) she was at stonehenge and forde? abbey so beautiful, these places!
next time she goes to England, I shall stow away in her luggage and come see you...
\it was really cold and windy when I went to Stonehenge
Now that IS a good idea stid !!!
It didn't look too balmy in their pics, actually, but they were wearing warm hats and gloves.
Will she be going to the Cotswolds ?
I can't remember. I know hetty recommended them, though.
Hetty's pics of that area were lovely. We saw them when we visited this summer.
noooo we've already got enough american tourists up there!
hello to all, been awhile since I've been around...nice to see some familiar faces (stid, hope you're doing well), and some new (to me) faces :) So...this grid is annoying me...too many words that start with vowels LOL
*adds atalante to my itinerary*
But it's not for long Ata !
hey everyone! ATALANTE WANTS HOUSEGUESTS!!!!!
driving down very small country lanes behind American tour coaches is an experience we all know!
hello sk!
Hi skh
and hello to Ata, too ;)
hi sk!!
Atalante, you should be thanking ALL the gods that my parents went west... and avoided most of your area. My father was driving *scary face*
well if she happens to be in the cotswolds on the 7 - 9th November, I'll give her a *proper* tour!
his Karys, how are you finding the grid?
We were in Broadway at the weekend
LOL but I get half my time down here and half in the Cotswolds :D
I was in Broadway last weekend!
I was ok til I got to the last 23 skh !
shoot, sorry..my typing is bad...need a "cut down" on my manicure :(
thanks Atalante, but by then she will be HOME! *happy face* I miss my mother...
You were ? !!!.... why didn't you say hello ?
awww I bet
broadway? what broadway? in New York?
hmm, good for you Karys...I'm at 39 to go...
I spent half my life in moreton-in-marsh!
*spend
is there an AA word?
it's my second home :)
No, not this weekend, but I been there too !!!
I am down to 60!
Been there for the market Ata
no aas
omg. that. it's hell on earth, Moreton market!
woohoo stid...and give you another 2 mins and you'll be down to 2!!! ;)
okay, thanks atalante *thinking*
Bourton on the Water is a favourite
no-one from moreton goes into moreton on tuesdays!
no, I think it will be longer than 2 minutes.. maybe three. *wink*
no one from Moreton can into Moreton on Tuesdays, I bet !
I love Cheltenham. But I've lived there most my life, so I'm biased. Moreton, Blockley, Bourton-on-the-Hill
hehehe stid :D
exactly!!
down to 56... *sigh* getting slowerer and slowerer
*get...should be in the middle there somewhere, just drop it in where you feel it goes best
I love Adlestrop. I've always wanted to live in Adlestrop. Or Evenlode
anyone got clues for the ep 7.36 and 5.14?
I just want to say "adlestrop" *says adlestrop adlestrop adlestrop*
Oh wow, Blockley... did my Silver Wedding in Blockley !!
sorry sharon... not yet
ep7 - it's my favourite ep7 of Frasier on tv tonight!
do you know the Adlestrop poem, Stiddy?
adlestrop, adlestrop, ....no, doesn't do it for me
oh! the ep 5/14 is ep + poem
no atalante, they made a poem about it?
tks stidmama
ok, excuse me while I spam the chat log with a poem!
Ty Ata.... what a lovely word !
oh -- atalante, if you want to see Mother outside one of her ancestor's houses in Chard... stidgrandmere.blogspot.com
it's the most beautiful poem. Adlestrop is a tiny little hamlet. It used to have a railway stop on the Cotswolds line, when there were steam trains. Important info for the poem!
Adlestrop by Edward Thomas Yes. I remember Adlestrop— The name, because one afternoon Of heat the express-train drew up there Unwontedly. It was late June. The steam hissed. Someone cleared his throat. No one left and no one came On the bare platform. What I saw Was Adlestrop—only the name And willows, willow-herb, and grass, And meadowsweet, and haycocks dry, No whit less still and lonely fair Than the high cloudlets in the sky. And for that minute a blackbird sang Close by, and round him, mistier, Farther and farther, all the birds Of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
thanks stid for the ep5 :)
ignore the ? at the end of the first line!
oooh. lovely poem1
down to 49 now. *zip zip*
Oh... I like that, I have not come across it before, thank youAta
it's the first poem I ever learnt. All Cotswolds school kids get to learn it!
and so they should
you are so lucky to grow up someplace like that! *envious look* but you don't have a mountain like mine...
and it still says everything to me about the Cotswolds. Summed up in those verses
we had a hill!
that's 2 foot too short to be a mountain
well, if you will excuse me, I am going for the list
I can give clues for a bit, if needed :)
*grin* I read that recently one of your UK "hills" was reclassified for just that reason!
yeah ... ours was 998 foot or something silly!
no excuses, karys... (right behind you once I get that A at the bottom)
ooh Ata...gonna copy/paste that (ok?) <<just a little too late for me to have "deep thoughts" (ie "Jack Handy/old SNL reference ;) )
but it is a lovely hill, beautiful cotswold stone quarries in it, all yellow-orange
go for it!
mmmm. our mountains are mostly black from the basalt
and you have no excuse not to get that A, Stid! it's a common babblet
but it's not an AA *thinking*
oops
and oo4 for saying oo4!
wrong word. its NOT common!
LOL atlante!
au5/16. that should help though
oh good. *feeling less stoopid*
YEP. that was what I needed. thanks.
down to 44 time for the list now I have NBT
oh! interesting. the guy who wrote the Adlestrop poem was buddies with Robert Frost
As axed!
that is nice to learn. the poem sure felt similar to some of frost's
does the CA 5 build from the 4?
The Dymock poets were a literary group of the early 20th century, who made their home near the Gloucestershire village of Dymock in England. They were Robert Frost, Lascelles Abercrombie, Rupert Brooke, Edward Thomas, Wilfrid Wilson Gibson, and John Drinkwater, some of whom lived near the village in the period between 1911 and 1914. They published their own quarterly, entitled 'New Numbers', containing poems such as Brooke's masterpiece, The Soldier. The First World War resulted in the break-up of the community.
no ..... well. insert. not elongate.
didn't know frost lived in england! *love to learn trivia*
thanks *thinking more*
nor did I. love learning something new each day

oh. waste water plants. don't worry, you'll just have missed a smell
the budgie is singing so prettily at hte moment!
whooo hoooo karys
and there's lots online to show you how the things work
hi lbdawger
exactly, Atalante. I am not completely unfamiliar with the process or the smell anyway... LOL
YES. got all the DO and DR words...
Anyone got a favourite recipe for trout fillets ?
hmm, sorry you "missed out" ;-) (on the smell that is) hubby is an electrical engineer...he sometimes works on those projects...we're currently in the UAE working with builders who are FINALLY interested in more "green" solutions toward construction
the fun bit is when the water has been cleaned initially. all the lumps and bumps extracted. then it gets cleaned physically and biologically, and the biological agents are the fun bits!
need the middle DU 4 please to finish the Ds
that is wonderful, sk -- I am glad there is getting to be more emphasis on green building, sustainability etc.
du + **A
I think the decomposers are the BEST part of nearly any system!
except for flowers. if flowers grow, then I am happy.
thanks atalante!
true that stid!
but honestly, you won't have missed much. nothing that you can't see online without the smell!
EX? either one?
ex = like a bob marley song spelled wrong
LOL oh atalante... not much worries me about the smells... a few textures make me uncomfortable.
then change the last letter
unfortunately, most of the modern systems are either beyond the tech of the designers/engineers here..or it is too difficult/inefficient to import all the way out here
bob marley? reggae? *worried look* it's not "I shot the sheriff" is it?
ever been to a chicken manure plant?
or a book of thte bible
oh! I got one... (the bible book)

pig manure isn't much fun either.

phand...i feel for you...just sitting around is not easy..how long do you have to do nothing and let it heal
well, my next doc appt is in 3 weeks. So, I am supposed to rest as much as possible till then.
I am fine on crutches, but you can't really clean with them can you
phand, then that is what you do...the housework will wait

Believe the housework will wait for your hip to heal..and school is more important, in my very humble opinion

what do you suggest kje?
there's a famous diner in Balmer
let me find the name... hang on
well, I hope we have an indian summer when you come
paper moon?
or jimmy's?
Just think of all the neat patterns you will see and the different materials and the people you get to meet!!!
both are so-so
KJE...
how adventurous are you?
ah , it's the Hollywood Diner
red you can not even imagine what it is like. they have a giant (huge) shopping are filled to the brim with yarn and all the fixin's the colors alone just blow you away
BF and I saw it on that TV show, Diners and Drive-ins
i am adventurous kje what do you have in mind
It sounds like Knitting heaven.
knitty, don't get all tied up there , hardy har har
ak - great restaurnat, very reasonably priced, and a nice place is The Helmand on Charles street.... absolutely fabulous food... owned by the Karzai family, BTW... if you go, you must get the pumpkin appetizer, it is to die for
i have to lock up my cash
Ahhh My favorite Phantom is here.
the bucking bronco show.
i know where charles street is i will have to check it out.
it's not a phantom, Red
great mediterranean tapas place... 2 actually... one is Pazo - very see and be seen type of place... other is Mezze - i think they have better food, but Pazo has better cocktails... both are in Fell's Point
yes, I guess I see it all the time as a Phantom...
kajee always knows the best places to eat!
kgee...are you still in Austria.
now i really can not wait to go
red, the bronco show is plural too
TY monkey!
YW
great Italian... Sotto Sopra... absolutely outstanding... had the best carpaccio there and really nice porcini tagliatelle... also on charles... skip little italy, it is americanized 1950s italian
we were looking for some place different and nice as a special treat. my friend that i go with lost her mother last week and has been down so we thought we would live it up a bit
all of those would do, AK... sooto sopra and helmand are quieter though, so may be nicer if you would like to talk more... and bothe places you can linger a bit
i am planning on shipping my ourchase back this time so that the suit case will not be over weight. my poor husband just rolls his eyes at all this
for breakfast... Blue Moon Diner on Fleet Street in Fell's Point... quirky and good food... like their french toast, chorizo and eggs, omelettes... very cozy and not overpriced
**F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S**
another good breakfast is Miss Shirley's up on Cedar Springs... best grits in the world
But where else would you be able to find the cool stuff Knitter, and probably a little less expensive too...
{{Lindrick}} congratulations

Thanks, Red. Pleasant dreams
oysters euuuuuwww. my traveling bud likes them though
and to KJE, pleasant dreams ... even though you didn't say hello or good bye :(
the first time we went we hiked all over creation in search of the perfect crab cake
kje is food focused.
I'll say she is
it's not personal, or maybe it is, but I choose to believe its not.
I hope it is not personal
gotta go BBL
bye Lindrick
best crab cakes are down south of the city... at the original Gunnings which is now off route 100 near Columbia
GN LindrickW.

honey lollies you use to stir your tea
not so bad kje, close to the yarn
ah, never heard of those
is that like the Hokey Pokey, knitter?
ak, it causes a wave reaction stronger than a nuclear explosion
if you have time, you should check out the Visionary Art Museum... other side of the harbor... very interesting
last year there was a ravens game and they were parking cars on the roof below our room. i was looking out - this guy got out of his car "hid" himself behind a pole to pee. he never thought of looking up!!
i just eats them like a lollipop actually
LOL ak - sounds like baltimore

Now, to get used to the wild computer charting...
where did you get the prep one?
and endure the 18 new grads who "Know everything"....
it is the way of the future, red... so just suck it up
A friend of mine worked agency there and her angecy gave it to her...I copied it.

I love computer charting. This system though is of course, not too perfect.
Go KJE Go.
which system do they use... thay all have issues
Cerner. I prefer Wellsoft. it is all in one screen the wellsoft.
KJE, how can you babble when there is so much to see in Salzburg?
not familiar... I have used Meditech and Epic
Good Evening Inge.
Meditech is popular in TX, and its OK...Epic I have not used.
WellSoft, for the ER is the best...
I am sitting in old town, eating weinerschnitzel, drinking wine, and listening to the jazz festival... they have wi-fi - LOLOL
Gee, if it is morning, why is it pitch dark outside?
Meditech is what they had in B-more... we have epic here
I know like 6 systems in tex that use Meditech, but they are all in W. Tex El Paso etc.
there is a really cute guy at the table next to me... may join him later
go kje go...

I LOVED my old doc, was pissed when he went that route.
I have a week of Indoctrination to Fl Hospital...then an actual 3 days of wokring with help on the unit, and then I am on my own...
But, I had read all about this new one, and he is into the whole patient deal, which is cool
sounds like a thorough training, red
not really, but a lot of discussion of the healing mission of Jesus.
UGH
Pam , have you switched flags?
Well, it's their mission.
OMG red, are you at a relig hospital?

so far. anyway....maybe they are saving the wierd for later!!!! haha!
That is great, red... I worked with a few 7th Day folks...
WHY ISN'T "POOED" A WORD?
sorry, didn't mean to shout
or, "pooer"
for you omnkey its a honorary word.
Pearl had her oral treatment to kill the baby heartworms yesterday. She has to be on crate rest for a month or so more. Since she is not active in the house, and is right now on the bed, I only crate her during the day. She is being thyroid tested--might explain her skin issues... Aren't you glad you asked, red? thanks, though!
pam, is Pearl your doggie? Poor Pearl
oh crap i said a woooooooooooooord
I am glad I asked. Sounds as if things are proceeding...how is getting along with her "personality"?
I am fostering her, leaning towards adopting her, lil....
Thanks, red. She is awfully nice to be around. Not as feisty or clownish as my late dog, which is good--need a different dog!
OK in case anyone is interested (or cares LOL), my car is called "Tiffany"

hey, peeps
what ARE you drinking jilli?
sp 5/12 clue me for both
awesome!
vodka on the rox, TO :)
phantom eposodic
van der sp5 is a dutch name
should be episodic
garden shovel misspelled
indeed so, jill :) that would explain the phantomness, now wouldn't it.
what a weird piece of triivia - LOLOL
there are 2 sp5/12s
everybody enjoying this nice grid?
i referred to the latter sp5/12
the other is an unrich S lol
OIC, dc
hi tyger
nice grid? nice grid?
it was far and away the least stressful one, IMO, lately
hey, kje
heinous grid heinous grid
i wasn't clear in my clue - it made me think of a girl o went to HS with whose surname was Van der Sp5
see... i thought yesterday's was much better
mildly tedious grid
yeah, trans. most of the other smaller grids lately have been bears, at least, that was my perspective
one sp5/12 is s + worshipful poem or song (var sp)
I thought todays was a breeze and yesterdays was hard
van der sp5 is a dutch name
today is going better than yesterday for me, though neither was a zip-through puzzle
dc... a HS frined emailed me some old pics of us today.... 8th grade... I cringed and laughed
transitionguy is copying me!
I didn't get a chance to do yesterday's. I started it in the middle of the night, but wasn't able to get at a computer again until late evening
LOL KJE, how wondeful!
LOL dc
you missed nothing by not doing it, tyger
no, i wanted to post that i need help with that clue. i think that is the clue i need.
and I didn't feel like doing anything that I even thought might be stressful
hi tyger

glad to hear that, DC
hey, jilli :)
ahh... nice clue!

ty, kje, even after jilli correcting my misspelled phantom, i missed that word LOL
lol dcseain... that didn't occur to me either
LOLOL - that is funny... stop looking for the phantoms and maybe you'll see the real ones ; )
kje, when I found that word, I thought of exactly that, if I were clueing
good point, kje :D
my phantom was pious .. i entered it several times just to make sure
anyone want to share the biggies? i've got sp7 and ep7 (by that i mean the ones clued in the last five minutes)
dr7 - sagged
I recall when shows used to be introduced - after the teaser - with "this ep7 brought to you by ..."
de7 - straight face
the letter C?
great clue, kje :)
and the number 3.
... before my time tyger : )
dr7: a variation on dr5y drawers
ty
i remember that tyger, though that was in my early childhood.
LOLOL leslie... THAT i do remember
oh! thanks i was looking at the wrong d
yeah, it would have been, DC. I think they stopped doing that back in the early 80s?
dred is a word.
probably around then, it was before i was in middle school, as i recall.
that late???? hmmm
ok, try that clue for sp 5/12 again. it's the one between the sp4 letter words.
or around then, anyway.
it's the past tense of a sp 4/4, guy
I know they were still doing it pretty much thru the 70s
ball sp5 hammer ;)
LOL, DC, I guess that's one way to get it across
it's not the past tense of anything that i can tell.
like the dr5y drawers
sp5/12 - sp + poem
oh sorry that's a sp 5/14
sp5/12 - sp + sounds like mr fleming

I really have to see an eye doctor!
I don't think you can do that with a mugger.

LOL, it's okay Pink.

;)
Oh, I have to tell you guys...
My computer sometimes does that, Hoot. It's usually because I've accidentally hit the Control button, or, sometimes, the stupid 2nd (back back) button on the side of my mouse.
...Koda about scared himself to death a bit ago...
re 5/22? my monkeys are on life support
...hi mistakenly touched the on/off button of the handvac...
...it turned on and he ran and hid!!!
It was soooo funny! ;)
re5/22 - re + consonant + beast of burden.
aww poor baby
re + sounds like the first part of a short weiner dog
nothing scarier than a handvac
Oh mines better - does it with no help. May have to get it checked out. Does it in IE too.
ep4 i swear i have tried every combination!!! aiiiigh!!!
Now, he won't go anywhere near it...

ep5, clue?
ep4, clue?
My 'baby' called us out to her new home this evening just as we'd finished dinner and were about to settle down to watch SG-Atlantis. Her fridge had stopped working.

Her Dad had been there earlier pulling out the dishwasher and washing machine, which need replacing. Somehow, as me andmy new partner guessed, he'd tripped the main fuse. It was soon sorted.

My ears are fine!!! LOL
Hoot - that 'pe' is the five a trumps and, apparently is a card game ofthat name played mainly in Lousiana.
ah ha- that's why I never heard of it!
How on earth did you know that?
LOL, Hoot.
I Googled it, Hoot. 'pe' to me is the name of a Mexican waiter. LOL
or a class president
really! I have been playing card games since I was 5. pe are my initals
Really, LeslieAnn? Was yours named that? How's married life going BTW?
of course I've never played cards in LA or been there. Hafta ask BF
nope, from napolean dynamite: "vote for pe***"
Letus know what he says, Hoot.
okeedokee
LesA - I still have to say that your wedding vid was the most impressive I've seen, aside from the one on yutube where everyone danced in sync to Thriller.
Is everyone finished? Wasn't hard , just silly. Monkey heaven.
I finished in the UK morning (yesterday), Hoot. Only here 'cos of night 'flashes' now.
off to cobra for a bit...bbs
cobra?
Aren't they fun! At work I had a fan/heater combo and kept switching back & forth!
Erm, okay.
haha i guess i can be second to that. married life is good. we just got a foster dog this week so that's the big news here
boggle-like game, jacula
LeslieA - glad to hear things are going well.x
Pink - oh right. I must look that up sometime. Thanks.
all right, i'm fading fast. night all.
'Night Les.
nity nite
let me know if you want the url, jac
Hoot - yes, God's great joke on women 'of a certain age'. Humph!
the best part was when I told the doctor that I thought I was starting (before flashes) had he laughed it off as me being too young. Shows what he knew.
that and - no had
Mind you, Hoot, my (younger than me) boyfriend has been coming out in sympathy lately. He had 4 hot flushes to my one the other night. Might be to do with the surgery he recently underwent.
didn't know guys could have them under any circumstances>
Yeah, Hoot, my doc told me I was too young at the start.
Neither did I know (guys could have them) Hoot. It's been a revelation.
I need to see a doctor soon but if I got that kind of idiot in NY what will I find here in stupidville?
sympathy pains?
at least he'll never tell you to snap out of it cause it's all in your head.
Well, Hoot. I'm trawling my way through the herbal remedies (which seem to work after 2 weeks but only work for about 6 weeks after that).
That's true. Hoot. He knows how it feels.
well hopefully it won't last too long for you. Without any meds, mine lasted less than a year.
dr6/33, clues?
I'm going thru it as a result of surgery...it's been...shall we say, "interesting" to say the least
*** sends Jac some birkenstocks to go with herbal remedies ****
believe it or not - it's a past tence
I don't want to go for HRT since cancer runs in the family and I have also watched b/f's Mum and my ex's aunt lose a breast through taking HRT for 12+ years.
smiles: pt of he dr*** to the store
tense!
Hoot - not sure about the 'not lasting' part - my Mum's in her 70s and she still has flashes/flushes.
I'm not on any HRT, Jac...I do use Black Cohosh for the "power surges" (I'm too young for hot flashes)
TY, pini!
had to come back and get in on this conversation
yw smiles ;)
ruru...too cold here to wear birks!
I knew I was strange but not that strange! Maybe it's because I was fat? Your mother skinny?
fat stores estrogen
Pini - when was your surgery?
Hoot - yes, my Mum is skinny.
Feb 5
I'm a tiny frame like her but not skinny at present.
TH + BSO, Pini?
well that may be it then.
oh, boy! 5 left!
If I'm ready that right, AM...*all* the plumbing is gone, yes.
Hi Autumn. Just spotted you there. Gave up on Bowling Buddies for tonight/today whatever.
;)
go smiles go!
Maybe that's an argument in favor of being fat! :D
ready = reading
mine was 3 years ago
Hoot - are you saying I need to get more overweight than I already am? EEK!
Jac - you beat me, like usual, but I got my "spares" achievement
I think it's too late! I had years to do it. lol
I think it's too late! I had years to do it. lol
Autumn - have you got your 'clown' award yet?
I was in surgery within 3 weeks of asking my doc a very simple question when accompanying my dau for a medication followup....
no, how do I do that?
Autumn - you put every single ball in the gutter. You get 50 bowling bucks for doing so.
OMG pini.... email me the details if you want. I also belong to a chat group of really wonderful women
Is this bowling on;ine too?
Jac - I think I can do that
Hoot - are you on Facebook?
will do, AM...I belonged to a group, too...but I fizzled out...
Maybe a bigger keys..........?
nope
Hoot - yes, you can play Bowling Buddies on Facebook or Myspace.
...it's good to talk about it to those who "understand" :)
I go back to the chat group all the time... for one reason or another
Well don't really have the time but I'll keep it in mind.
I probably would if the chat group talked with everyone instead of just select ppl....
hoot - join facebook under your babble name and then find me
I've still got all my 'plumbing' but only because a) my duaghter was in hospital when I was advised to have my tubes removed and I couldn't, as a solo parent, be out of action for 3 months or so, and b) the surgeion up and died when I was ready.
brb
And my typing's up the spout. But it IS 4.43 am here and I've not slept yet.
Jac - really - go lay down for a little while
maybe - I'll keep it in mind, autumn. Just hard to get on a regular schedual. BY works strange hours. This week it's 4pm til midnight, next week it's all nighters. I think there are 5-6 different ones. Changes every 2 weeks
Hoot - you can go onto Facebook just to play the games, you don't have to accept all the invitations for applications etc.
re 5/14, both, and re 5/12, clues?
I decided to start accepting invitations a couple of weeks ago and have deleted most of them earlier.
The nice thing about BF, hoot, is that it really doesn't matter what time it is at your house. You just take your tuen
oops - that FB
tran - re5.14 (1st) = to 'plus' again. re5.14 (2nd) = past tense of the re4 before it.
and TURN
Ok - I'll give it a try but not right away. Tomorrow is all day shopping and maybe thursday too then I'll crash and chill.
TY, jac!
I can see you aim is out of whack, Autumn. Fancy another challenge? LOL. Only joking.
how's about re5/12?
Gee it must be catching. Everyone is starting to type like me!:D
re5 is a plural
Hoto - iv'e on diea wot u meen! LOL
roflol!
TY, hoot, should have seen that!!
Jac - I still have 24 words to find, but I will challenge you to a few games, once I get that clown badge...
yup! ALWAYS try plurals. Some are as amazing as the past tenses in this grid!
*off to look for words*
I'll be playing them later, autumn but good luck with the clown bagde (it's a slow game to do). BTW, off on hol for a week on Saturday so won't be around for a while.
I need a drink - brb
badge, I meant. Heck Hoot, will you lay off y typing fingers?:-)
i have one re4 left!
the drink helps eventually
Jac ponders on the various meanings of the Babblers' frequent post of, 'I need a drink!' Sometimes it's tea or coffee. Sometimes it's something stronger.
no, wait, it's something else
re6, clues?
bourbon!
re6/24 = full of or covered by a water plant.
past tense guy!
is bourbod a clue?
Don't think I've ever had Bourbon, Hoot.
no my drink - clue is past tense!
TYm jac and hoot! got my fireworks!
Well done Transitionguy.
so hoot, what brand do you prefer?
definitly an american drink. Uses corn instead of rye and tends to be a little sweeter and a lot smoother. I'm allergic to rye
Old Grandad
ah, not bad. what do you think of wild turkey?
oh didn't see it congrats guy!
thanks hoot
Grand is better. Started on Turkey though. It's alright
The only good whiskey for drinking is an Irish whiskey and that's Jamesons.
bleh, jamisons is nasty!
I CAN"T DRINK IT> RYE!
If you're talking the Scottish spirit, then it's spelled whisky.
bushmills kicks jameisons butt!
Jamesons' is not nasty.
so, so nasty. bleh!
Scotch I can drink but tend to save for when I feel a cold coming on. Nips it in the bud
Whatever,Trans.
when it comes to scotch i really love the lowland varieties.
hey! No whiskey/whisky wars!
I'm a Johnny red all the way
jac, have you ever tried knappogue irish whiskey?
Is everyone finished now ?
I prefer Gordon's gin with Schweppes Tonic, ice and a slice of lemon myself. But I use Jamesons in my marmalade, Christmas cake etc. But, if I'm going to have whiskey in coffee or drink it neat (not often), then Jamesons is the one for me.
No, Trans, I haven't.
you really ought to try knappogue! i suggest everyone give it a try if you can find it.
allergic to gin too. Vodka & schweps is good!
Guy are you over there or over here?
I am a McCallan guy...
i 've had quite a number of friends visit ireland, and they say what we got here is hardly a trickle when it comes to irish whiskey.
Glenmorangie is one my b/f stashes.
hi ruru
hi hoots
Hoot - I'm allergic to vodka.
hey ruru, have you ever had anything by signatory vintage?
you done
Glenmorangie is good to.. really peaty..
nope.. that is a new one to me... what is it?
gotcha jac
*** remind self.. never make a cosmo for Jac ****
they pull batches from various distillers, and release them on their labels. it's only found at larger liquor stores.
Did you discover the allergy by getting hung over on a sip?
nope haven't seen them tguy
jac, all vodka? or just the rye stuff?
can't you make a cosmo with gin?
Hoot - I discovered it by throwing up after one or to sips. No not drunk, just my body rejecting it,
Not sure.. I don't think so
Not sure, Transit.
that will do it jac...skip the vodka
I like Hendricks Gin a lot...
aah - my body accepts it but then makes me suffer for a day or two. I would have gotten the message sooner if THAT had happened
ooo, hendricks is great. i had that at a tasting just as they were begining to market it.
I really can't drink much hard alcohol anymore these days... one drink really kicks my butt..
guy - where are you?
hey, sorry looking something up!
here is a wonderful website. want to see more whisky that you have in your entire life?
http://www.samswine.com/
Gosh, aren't we a crowd of boozers? Reminds me of a conversation I had with a neighbour the other day about our recycling boxes. He's said how the binmen come early for those and how the sound of the bottles wakes him up. I said, 'We must all drink a lot round here,' and he, being Irish, said, 'Sure No! It's the sound of milk bottles.'
ruru - you get out of practice. I used to live in bars so I could play pool and darts. Now one drink puts me to sleep. And I never drank like a fish!
lol, jac
All the glass milk bottles here are collected by the farmer, any that don't come from him are plastic. LOL
when i lived in chicago i went to sams wines. the place is as big as a grocery store, and all they have is booze! and entire isle of just scotch!
Trans - here in UK that's normal.
Even in supermarkets.
well, here is post-prohibition USA, it's taken awhile to get back up to speed!
I understand that we get far more varieties of cheese (not counting celebrities and politicans) than you do. That surprised me.
just recently states have been allowing for small batch distilleries. for so long it was just whiskey, now we're seeing gin and vodka.
Britain makes the best cheese, closely followed, though we hate to admit it, by France.
oh, cheese is starting to cathc up too. there has been an influx of raw milk cheese happening.
my, bf would argur that ireland has the best cheeses.
he loves irich cheddar
Trans - I count Ireland in with Great Britain, even Eire.
uk, right?
okay... all done now. last word ca6/30. Jac - I will pop a couple games off then off to bed with me
Cheddar, Stilton, Wensleydale, Cheshire, Welsh Black Dragon and many, many more.
fireworks?
Did Pini come back?
are you trying to make me salivate?
hooray guy!!!!!
Well done autumn! I'll play you backlater.
i think she's still out.
Sorry, trans, but our cheeses are a great taste trail.
ok - BF just got home and doesn't know the game. But wise guy found it in the dictionary and it wasn't any help!
i think i'm going to drop by some other sites before the flip.
I'll be off, too now, if you're all off and no one needs any clues.
Good luck to those still looking, congrats to those who finished and good conversation to those chatting. Ni-night
jac, i love cheese, any cheese, so bringing up cheese is a bad deal for me. i don't care how crumbly or runny it gets i love it all.
nite autumn
'Night Autumn.xx
now I'm hungry! gUY - WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
toledo, oh
you?
Stilton and port, Trans., or a nice ripe Somerset Brie on a toasted sandwich ith bacon and green grapes. MMMMMM.
somerset brie. didn't know it was produced there. is it a local thing?
ty - Memphis.Tn but originally Long Island,NY
memphis. now i'm thinking about bbq!
where in long island hoot?
Produced in Somerset and Cornwall, Trans., and bot much tastier than French Brie.
(agreed)
i'll have to see if i can't scare some up.
Last stop Ronkonkoma, but originally N.Babylon.
most french brie tastes like sheetrock...
hmmm my wife is from North Belmore is that nearby?
here in usa there is a sture called trader joes. they sell canadien brie that is so cheap, and very good. i get that alot.

I really, really wish we had a Trader Joes here. The local Wild Oats has been bought out by Whole Foods so I expect prices to go thru the roof. I HATE MEMPHIS AND I HATE TENNESSEE!

NITE
whole foods is like stepford wives...for vegetarians
...er hoot.. how do you really feel about TN....?
lol @ ruru .. you don't plan on becoming vegetarian?
nope I am a carnivore...
I was a vegetarian in high school just to piss my parents off...
TN - you don't want to know - stay away!!!!
I couldn't do it either - giving up red meat would be pretty easy, but never dairy products!
Okay hoot.. never will go there...
Teenage rebellion way back then?
Kath - there are degrees of vegitarianism. Some allow dairy.
I gave up milk and (trying to give up ice cream)
I love TN. my parents went there when my Dad retired, that's where he was originally from
hoot> I'd also struggle to give up seafood
no, ice cream is a very important food group!
lol
back..finally...
GOOD - They are trying to attract retirees when they have 9.25% TAX ON EVERYTHING YOU BUY!. dON'T YOU REALLY WANT TP PAY THAT KIND OF TAX ON food, meds!
We pay 14% on everything, except some basic foods that are untaxed
I find that once I bring some ice cream home .. I have to have it day after day ..until I have to stop..and I don't even go down the frozen isle at the store..lol
<-- lives in sales tax free state! ;)
You have to stick to ! CONE> None at home!
wow.. our taxes out here are 7 & 1/2
My daughter's boyfriend brings home all the food left over from functions he organises ... usually lots of tinned fruit salad and also ice cream
here we pay no tax on food, but it is ugly, dirty. and slowly turning into "the hood"
Where are you Kath?

Yeah, I'm great and I know it, 'cos Beloved tells me so, ruru.
aaawww - sweet jac
pink - yeah. But the site in general - think it's valuable to those needing that sort of help?
I hate to be the wet blanket, but I think financial advice is best obtained from professionals.
you mean the sex god?
cybernan - fair enough
Lickety...probably...have you checked to see what the "competition" is yet, though?
Professionals like Lehman Brothers? you mean?
Indeed I do, ruru. I've got my 'nursey' pic upon Facebook for him.

Lehman BRos was a brokerage house in NY that had to be bailed out by the us Government to the tune of millions of taxpayers dollars for poor loans, managment of funds and huge golden parachutes for their executives.
Last letter, mkg. Make it a personal pronoun vowel.

All the explanation you will get is that I've been nursing Beloved for 3 or 4 weeks now since his op and my new profile pic is my Bowling Buddies nurse lookalike that I put up to distract him from beating me at the game. Unfortunately for me, the pic seems to have spurred him to greater heights. *shurgs*
hmmmm you are right .. will skip the cake and have a popsicle instead..
re five, second one and third and forth please.
