The little ones started coming just before 6 and by 8:30 we had seen the last of them..then an hour later I noticed someone at the door. There was a grown woman with long straggly grey hair and absolutely no teeth saying Trick or Treat

a dear friend of mine just lost her cat she was run over by a car the neighbor was closing his blinds and saw their cat lying in a strange position on the front step
they took her right to the vet who did surgery but she had massive internal injuries
they just started letting her go out too

our lady dog Dana still royally refuses to start being in heat, lol. She has never been late thus far, and now she is almost 2 months late. I swear she feels we are all waiting for it to happen and doesn't like the tension, hehehehe.

oh yes, I don't mind. Am not in a hurry and can use a bit more time to save more money. And yes, it will be worth the wait. She is so adorable and the father is beautiful and even-tempered too.

I don't know, west, the thought has crossed my mind. But the breeder checks the ladies (she has 3) every day now for (what is the good word) starting to be in heat and has done so from the time they usually do. So it is not likely.

west, yes, the breeder doesn't breed them often at all. Dana wasn't even the one who was going to be the mother of our puppy, but was put forward because she scored perfectly in all the test, no inbred faults at all. So it seemed a good idea to let her have healthy puppies.

this breeder is not even a professional one, although she handles everything very professionally with her dogs. She is a doted lover of the breed and loves to have an occasional litter. She follows all the rules, her puppies are free of all inbred faults and handicaps, and she does a great job with socialising them.

my cousin once had a dog that was 1/2 German Shepherd (Alsatian) and half basset hound it was the funniest dog you've ever seen had the body of a Shepherd and the short stubby legs of a basset

German Shepherd + coon hound = insanely intelligent animal with dark shepherd markings, but with floppy ears. One of my favorite dogs.
i didnt know him personally used to see him when I was on the bus going to work, he looked happy enough

Cutie, for sure. Had a quirky, almost dopey look to her face, and fooled everyone that way forever. My family used to raise huskies, and I've seen some beautiful dogs through that, but one of my favorites was a Shepherd/Rott. I've never encountered a dog that trained as quickly or that could retain quite so much. Sorry about the icon and interjecting in your conversation...I'm new here.

It just seems so much effort for so little reward, seeing people balancing them up before they leave for the 19 hour trip down the M5
We have been trying on diversity, I've been on a Women in Management programme for a couple of years, it has been great training
I'd rather stay at home than do all that packing, but others love the freedom to be on the move (except on the M25)
our caravan was stuck in one very boring spot. gah. it was awful
So, when the hard times hit, there'll be diversity in adversity.
The men have really objected to it saying it was discrimination but I have pointed out that their sex wasn't the reason they haven't promoted it was because they were cr** ;-)
I stayed in a caravan for 2 weeks once in France, not too bad esp as St Emillion was just up the road :)

Question for the Aussies: the Aussie family I saw in the office today, the mother said that immunization records are not kept for kids because vaccines are not necessary for school attendance...is this true? There MUST be a record, I believe.

Aside from initial Baby Health Booklet where early immunisation is recorded, there is no other record of immunisation. (At the appropriate ages, mass immunisations are done at schools) My children were reasonably healty and had no continuous health records
