it used to be a very busy commercial canal years ago.
I live near the Delaware and Raritan canal - in New Jersey- (not within walking distance of my house, tho) - we go there in the summer, people can walk along the path, lots of interesting wildlife to see
ours too, now a national park - over 70 miles long, through several states
we used to hire narrowboats for holidays, but not on this one.
