Mac's come with the drivers for most printers...I didn't even load my printer software and the Mac-mini recognized it immediately...I had to reload the software for Windows to do so and then it quit in Win...

That's true - I come from a long line of women who loved to wash and iron and clean so it's probably hard-wired into me somewhere. I still don't think I'm anywhere close to their standards.
On the subject of nappies (diapers) - I have to observe that my friends who used terry nappies on their babies found that they got nappy rash. My 2, who were in disposables, never got it.

Jac, it all depends on how often the nappies are changed.
If the terry users weren't changing often enough (to avoid having to wash so much) then that's the problem.

maybe the terry itself was irritating, here if you used washables they were almost like, if not, soft flannels
But, disposables aren't very 'green', I guess.
They're pretty amazing nowadays (the disposables) but my theory is that the toddlers are too comfortable now and don't progress away from nappies as quickly.
my neighbour is such a woman. Always busy, but never stressed. I admire her endlessly.

Yeah... those independents just can't compete oftentimes.
We have a very nice independent grocer in town, which seems to be doing great (just expanded, even). I always buy my produce and often my meat there. Much nicer stuff and really not that much more expensive.
I love it, as I can walk there with my shopping bags, pick up my stuff, and meander home... I feel positively European!
Oh, and the bread... did I mention the bread??? Delicious!

I admit though that for dry goods, etc... I do use the major retailer, as the prices at the independent are really insane for those items (especially cleaning supplies). But I do support them by purchasing the other items there. They are also great to the community... always giving back to local fundraisers, etc.. really nice people!

I decided to make my own hamberger relish. Had to make a few changes. Can't eat green peppers so I used red. Red onions instead of yellow. Haven't had a hamberger since but it's fabulous on salads!
