what are the stats on the we6?
we 6/30
ty, got it
we 6: Noun 1. (obsolete) we 6 * From the opera "Mr Purcell his ground" the line is as follows. " no pressure should be placed on the bum or the we6".
a non-definition definition
lovely bit of wisdom in your bio today, BR, I like it.
hello, Rose
ah, the obsolete is "weasand," the throat in general
well, one wouldn't want pressure placed there, that's for sure...
yes, good friends are treasures
or your bum, either, lol
don't have many good friends, myself, kind of picky
well, 50 le4, taking a break...

Good morning

Is anyone else here today? I've said good morning twice, half an hour apart, and no response
gm merk
no one responded to me either, I know there are always people out there but it doesn't bother me anymore if people don't respond
Is everyone buried in the grid, or something?
no one responded to me either, I know there are always people out there but it doesn't bother me anymore if people don't respond
no one responded to me either, I know there are always people out there but it doesn't bother me anymore if people don't respond
still in the post-wakeup daze
Our vacation has started so my nose has been in the grid, too, trying to finish before others wake up.
where are yuo vacationing?
i went to get some cheerios and also have been in and out reading about maximizing my laptop's battery life.
The Black Hills of So. Dak.
nice
have heard it's beautiful
It's a beautiful time of year. A sensory vacation, the sights, the smell of the pines, delicious food.
sounds all good. any wildlife?
morning all...fo 6/27 clue pls?
morning everyone

Rhymes with something that kills you in a mystery

Fireworks
congrats, Merk
Now I can dress and go down to the lobby to find some coffee.
was there extensive damage from flooding in your area, Merk?
See you earlier tomorrow
No, the flooding was east and north of us. It still is flooded, in fact.
no good
glad you escaped it
I should not say no to our flooding. It just wasn't a river. During one torrential downpour, our eaves and spouts couldn't keep up. I got water in one room in our lower level and had to pull up the carpet and replace the drywall.
But that is miniscule compared to elsewhere. I hardly think of it anymore.
sorry about that
See you tomorrow.
help with ho6/30 pls
trivia: What is the name of the rooster on boxes of Kellogg's Corn Flakes?
norman
ho 6 -- warm cot
Bill?
thanks BR, I was looking in the wrong direction. great clue
heya tor
Cornelius Rooster, the ubiquitous green rooster designed by Rena Ames Harding
Morning ..
ah, well, tor, we were close.
what grid word (s) is associated with this description: Injured by the device that you intended to use to injure others.
ho5 on your own petard?
ho5/12ed by one's own petard ..
yea, hurshy!
clearly we are better at grid words than kellogg roosters :)
I know that phrase but what does petard actually mean
yea, torgone!
morning, all -- today's my 4-year Babble-versary!
peri, one meaning is "firecracker"
A petard is, or rather was, as they have long since fallen out of use, a small engine of war used to blow breaches in gates or walls
morning babblers
good morning babble friends - I usually don't chat until NBT, but I can't help it today -- TOR!!! you are back!!!! hooray!
congrats une!
hello, folks
thanks BR and Une
TRIFS!! .. I'm not home yet, but I'm back on Babble ..
peri, your kitty looks VERY regal! :-)
oh, don't ever "go away" again! It was so lonely
torg is back on babble!
if i should go away, on a summer's day . . .
thanks so much, that is Zoe-Anne
:-D
rhotic is so a word!!!!!!!!!!!!
back soon, 25 left
You're rhight it is ..
wow i just got started
misquote: Beam me up, Scotty. The closest that Captain Kirk ever got to this was "Beam us up, Mr Scott", in the 'Gamesters of Triskelion' episode.
grids with no 0/0 tiles are really intimidating
Don't back down, Trifs ..
oh, ta, Tor. Now I will have that Tom Petty song stuck in my head all morning.
You're welcome ..
hurshy, any residuals from the car thing?
no, i'm fine
"s'awright" is associated with what entertainer?
the cat is hungry..brb
topo gigio?
Fats Waller?
Señor Wences died just three days after his 103rd birthday.
might have spelled it wrong, but that is my guess
did brabble just trick tor into the penalty box?
Oops .. PB for me. ..
damn....I think that is who i meant.
He was a ventriloquist who appeared on the ed sullivan show many times
he talked with his hand, right?
whats the points for the `o` in the middle & the one on the right please?
yes, as the head on top of a dummy
My impertinence landed me here ..
ot5/10 middle
ot4/4, 4/5, and on4/4 right.
thank you hurshy :-)
Rats ..
bummer. the man who was coming today to look at the kittens isn't coming. sigh.
hello
gerbils ...
kittens!
NBT time for lunch..back later
hello
I could upload you one, hurshy
Heya hj
my three would just beat up on it :(
it's weird how adult cats can be more tolerant of dogs than of new cats.
NBT
how do you spell lefsa?
oooh kittnes
lefse
you don't, you get lefsa off a duck
ahh, now i'm hungry,,,
Thank goodness you are in America Trif, hubby want's one of the kittens and I pointed out it would be too complicated!! They are wonderful though
i haven't even had breakfast and you guys are making me laugh
at this point I would fly them over....they have GOT to find homes!
our cats are traumatised over the party last night and will no doubt be sulking for the rest of the day
i think if you can believe impossible things before breakfast, it is ok to laugh before breakfast.
they are lovely, hopefully you will find them homes soon
the thing I most feared is coming true - the fry are getting majorly attached, and have given them names, against my strict instructions to do so. the worst part? *I* started using their names. Not only the fry are getting attached!
oh trif, 5 would be WAY too many to keep
did I mention I am allergic to cats?
hey you can take tablets for that :-)
that is how I made is this far!
Oh Trif , just looked at your pics, they are adorable!! Hi Katie and hurshy :)
Hi FM
trivia: what does "Handbags at ten paces" mean?
a fight
((((grumping))) figures all the brits would take cats. Come on, come on, there must be some babblers in NE that would like a cat....
How was the holiday Katie?
like pistols draw but usually means that it was a silly fright
what are the stats for the lone O please?
yea, Katie
A confrontation which is histrionic but which doesn't involve physical violence. Such confrontations are also called handbag situations.
Not too good FM, weather wasn't great and all the alcohol was watered down, but it was nice to be with just the two of us for the fortnight
I think it ot 5/10 harp
I think its the o5/10 pl of a 4
otto
Oh shame Katie, but to be away and relaxing recharges the batteries :)
yup that was it
now everyone knows....
sorry
i could blame it on my computer....
great clue harp!
I'm about to catch some sun in the garden as I didn't get to bed until 4am so will sleep on a sunbed
LOL, thats the fun of todays grid, a singe word will come from one tile and it's pural will come from another.
thanks harp I was needing that one
Come on into the PB .. there are waffles ..
You party animal you Katie!!!
I am more stuck on the tiles that won't give up their words at all, FM
Hey Torg! You can do it Trif :)
right now I'm remembering why I'm not a party animal lol, it was only Mari and I at the end and I have phoned to point out that she is supposed to be a good influence
LOL
phantom: footie. As in the dream lingerie of every Bostonian woman: something provocative, with feet
socks?
no torg a pj with feet
hi all
right i'm off to grab some sun. See you all later :-)
this seems a very kinky grid
bye katie
cannot imagine why anyone would delight with jammies having dangling feet
Just watch the UV Katie, it is incredibly warm today. Hi jmc.
isn't it used sometimes for soccer in england? or is only footer allowed?
okay, I need to get ready for church now. Think good thoughts for me, please please please. Secondo is being confirmed today, and I will have to stand up with her in front of everyone. With her dad. Ugh. I know she comes first, and I am trying really, really hard. But it is hard to do.
That's what I meant .. provocative lingerie with feet = socks ..
football is often shortened to footie
No Hurshy you are correct.
yay me!
obviously you are a fo4 man
hope it goes well Trif, stay strong
just keep chanting, "it's for the kids, it's for the kids..."
TEchnically everyone that said the f4 word should be off to the PB *grin*
Stand your ground Trifs
thanks welki, katie. I will
it's not that he's fo4 man, it's just that if a woman is wearing nothing but socks, i think most men would find that OK by them.
In my socks, tor!!!
dashes out before getting sent to the pb *poof*
Good luck and be well Trif.
Yea!
Gods all Trif -- hang in there
God sees all I mean
thanks you guys. you all rock! I will smile and think of you all behind me....I treasure you all, I really do.
hurshy you do have a point
Now to find a church appropriate dress that somehow also conveys "see what you are missing, jerk?" Ha ha ha
except I think with my saggying belly I better wear something more than socks!
just let a small length of black ribbon hang from under a very conservative dress ;)
oh, wait, quick before I go - English people, is there much reaction to Britain's got talent today?
so glad there is no such thing as Meeting appropriate dress (other than covering up basic body parts)
YAY Diversity!!!!!
wear something that shows that cute figure
really FM? I liked Flawless better...
Aparently at least 15 million watched the show.
to what do you refer FM?
how many voted, do you know?
I C
The dance act that won Britians Got Talent jmc.
*nudges jm* think someone is procrastinating?
No Trif
I know, I know...I am going welki! Just remembered about BGT and wanted to ask before I left
i would have admired susan boyle more if she'd just gone home after her initial performance.
since most of the brits are sleeping when I am on in the evening here....
Now off with you Trif, go make yourself even more pretty ;)
looks that way: Trif go get ready so you don't have to rush! *wearing stidmama's stern mama face*
giggles
like, hey, stop judging people by their appearances. then, ok, now leave me alone.
but she said she wanted a career so . . . going home would not have accomplished that
The papers were reporting that Simon Cowell has said he will make £8 million for her.
that's some career . . . .good for her
I'd buy her CD
Ack .. The hotel lobby music is driving me bonklers ..
It was a great show to watch especially in the early stateges where you get the real mixed bag. ANd last night was just such great entertainment.
I'm going to get some breakfast ..bbl peeps ..
get out of the lobby then
buy torg
bye torg
just so she keeps her sanity and does not sell her soul to the company store
Bye Torg
That's where the computer is ..
bummer
that's why i travel with my own computer and my own connection
i heard yesterday that the british accent only developed in the late 18th and early 19th century, and that before then, people would have basically sounded more like americans. which would at least partly explain why we don't have it, if the first people to come here from there did not.
amen to that hursh
Well that is a new one on me hurshy!
I have read that the people in the hills of virginia sound more like the original british than anyplace else since their accent hasn't changed
that doesn't explain australia, new zealand, south africa, etc - places with closer to brit accents than us
there are lots of british accents as near as I can tell
i think it is wv specifically jmc
Hey kje :)
well, it could be wrong. heard it from my husband.
if you talked to the hill people of VA you would know that they have a strange accent too kje
gm everyone
I suspect the article was refering to the more homogenized accents we think of today as "british"
hill people, sand people, merpeople... i'm drowsing off...
hi kje
mole people. . . strange dreams coming
mole people - makes me think of thumbelina. that mole guy gave me creepy nightmares when I was a girl
my sister used to live in Calgary welki and I got to see Banff in august -- you anywhere near there?
much as I hate to leave I must go and get lunch before it is so late I have to call it dinner! TTFN
bye FM
hi and bye fM
off to a bad start - hair is non compliant....
I also saw banf in march but it was pretty much a big snow pile then
hi dorens
i live in calgary, too :)
i'm only here for a couple of minutes.. see what i can pick up. tri (was reading chat) have a great day. you will look beautiful, and don't need to try to have any mpression on the x. it is all about the daughter!
*waves at Dorens, catch you next time :)*
a google search quickly discloses a large number of opinions about what some say is the loss of the british accent by americans
indeed FM nice to see you've been here, at least!
trif put a hair band on it and declare it done -- you have nice hair
babrab to the rescue.... knew he'd find out the real deal
which imlies americans at one time had one
I can't say I am surprised BR
implies
indeed, it does make most sense, considering australia, s. africa, etc
we were british at one time so by definition. . . .
i was never british
lol kje
they don't want to claim me either
<--- thinks kje's icon is beautiful
breakfast date is here... see you later (kje, are you working on meeting up in austin on the 20th somehow?
the people who declared themselves independent (which we will be celebrating soon) were british
have fun dorens
ty welki - i got it off pings' blog "big window"
be well, Dorens
dorens - lets chat - email me

Good morning/day to all of my Babble buddies.
howdy Scrabbler
That will be fun, Aloy. How old is she?
hello, help with ri7 pls
Good morning/afternoon all.
20 months now, Scrabbs
RI7 is a pasta
A fun age--language skills exploding. I love observing language acquisition in toddlers.
Hi Peri & Hazel
TY Bea
ri7 is a rice dish actually
ri7 - made with arborio rice
Hi kje
hi scrab
ty Haz, got it
thanks all got the ri7
TY for the clrification.
good morning everyone;)
clarification
I love ri7
Hello Aloy - nice grid for zipping through.
Iget RI7 and orzo mixed up.
aaahhh - can see that
so far so good, Haz.. 37 left, may hit the list for expediency
Haz, what type of vacuum cleaner do you have?
orzo is often cooked in a similar way
Bottom i is grey. First baby step is done.
crossy checks his deoderant...:((
Hi cwossy! How are you today?
I have a Miele, peri. I used to have a Dyson, the Miele is definitely quieter and more manoeuvrable.
you here crossy? hi .. see you now
there we go! howdy scwabby!!:)
does the Miele cost as much as a Dyson? do they sell Miele in the US
Sunshine again today but high of about 60, perfect for gardening.
ah, found the be 5 nut
I have a Bissell, not one of the high end ones. it is bagless and it is just not doing the job. no sense buying a new one now. I am moving in with friends who have a better vacuum
TY Aloy
I've no idea if they're sold in the US - they're a German company. Apparently the early Dysons are better than the newer models, or so the vacuum salesman told me. If anything the Miele was cheaper.
thanks, Haz
I buy a $30 vacuum every 4 yrs or so.
thanks for the nut
what brand do you buy Scrabs
I have a hoover wind tunnel - sucks up everything
just bought a shop vac.. heavy duty cleaning
oh, hoover wind tunnel, hmm
i had a cheap throw rug for awhile - sucked the yarn right out of it - LOL
No problem, peri. I've had 4 vacuums in 27 years and do tend to spend a bit on them, but not a fortune.
i dont buy the high hype vacuums like the dyson etc.remember when the phantom fury was the big thing of the year? well i bought on only to discover that a critical key componnant that holds the beater bar into the main head of the machine is made entirely of plastic and gets brittle and breaks off about 1 week after the warranty ecpires.so now i just buy a 80 dollar vacuum every 3 years and call it good
Whatever is the le5 expensive--Eureka, Bissell, Dirtdevil, and for my needs they work fine. Maybe I should just buy a long-lasting top model
I like the Miele because I have two different heads, one for hard floors, the other for carpets.
And the carpet head has a revolving turbo-drive thing.
i do love my dyson, it's well constructed. with long hair, i kept burning through the plastic parts that held the brush bars on the cheapies.
no more 500-1000 dollar vacuums for crossy
dyson is made so that if hair clogs it, you know before you burn through any rubber or plastic. plus it's made of metal in key parts.
I will leave the best vacuum for my bridal registry. When George and I finalize our future together I will get everything on my wish list.
her a dyson is 700 dollars
heck, scrabs, you'll have a maid by then, so no need to worry over which vacuum!
Yes, Scrabbler. You've not forgotten to take your pills today?
Oh, of course, Feather. Silly me.
did you take your turn, weed?
i did earlier, did you just go?
Correct, Hazel, I have not taken my medication yet. And it is my last one so I have to get to the drug store tomorrow.
no - will go look
I knew it. Those wee delusions about George just gave the game away.
I prefer my fantasy world to reality, so much more fun and less stressful.
i hold off on my meds for just a bit to stoke the insanity a tad;))
Good idea, Cwossy. Just to remember what is on the other side of the ledge.
:)
and done, not a bad grid. NOw off to look for an outfit for my nephews wedding, the end of June
Yahoo Peri. Enjoy your day.
congrats, peri!!!
ty and byyyyeeee
Enjoy shopping, peri. And congratulations on finishing.
21 C's! Grrrr
you had to tell me,didnt you?:(((
I just noticed, Cwoss.
hey scrabs, short of sedation, any tips or tricks for trimming toddler toenails? the job i hate most!
You know my favorite discipline tools: bungee cords + duct tape.
lol you could try that pett-paws thing they sell for cats and dogs;)
oh, right! let's see, where did i leave that last?
Or use some wrestling techniques.
phew back in from the heat. afternoon everyone
petti-paws*
You mean you don't keep duct tape constantly to hand?
yeah, that's more what it ends up looking like. i do a sort of football hold on him, lock a leg down, and go as fast as i can.
Hi Kitt. How hot is it?
Hello Katie - it's warm out there, isn't it?
duct tape was my friend with my son
not sure in your temps about 25 in ours
o6/30?
morning all. Napping is a good time to do it feather
it's lovely Haz but it was either put on suncream or come in for a while!
Hi hootowl, long time, no see. How are you?
yeah, i'm always afraid i'll wake him up though! lol
sorry, I meant ho6/30
we are cool here today its about 10c

so to speak
well gentle helps and it works
And when he gets out of the bathtub the nails will be softer.
You should have your suncream on anyway, Katie!
i still think a bench grinder is best:)
hi Scrabs. Been busy. Try to NOT come on when I'm in the grid:D
ho6/30 - descriptive of a place of slumber when the air-conditioning is broken
i say let him grow claws....
Lots of tools would help
didn't put any on because we are just back from holiday so have a good tan and won't burn, but may well have to go with it
ooh, of course.. tyvm, Haz!
yes katie!!..im sitting here as we speak with 2 bloody holes in my belly cause the removed a couple of spspect leisons!! wear sun screen!
OK I'll wear it, we did on holiday honestly
Tut tut, Katie. Protect your skin!
Not that I'm a bullying mother or anything.
I have had basal cell carcinoma and sevreal other dysplastic moles removed, because when I was a kid/teen we did not have sunblock. Protect your skin.
im the bully..wear sunscreen
*concerned mama look*
Thank you Haz for taking pity on me, that gave me fireworks
Well done Holly!
yay, HollyF.. congrats!!!
dont make me come over there.....
I usually go with the recommended factor 15 and everything
congrats holly
Yahoo Holly. I am trying to figure out the last 3 letters of that ho6
spf 35
sleep on it Scrabs, lol
You might have left it recently
Factor 15? I rarely go below factor 25 and that's over here! (I'm a wimp but I hate the feeling of skin being burnt)
Aha, I was making h-o-t towards the northeast
joining in the sunscreen chat - i'm a 45 spf - my famiy think I'm a vampire - can't be in the sun at all
that's exactly what I was doing for hours
I start on 30, down to 20 and finish on 15, haven't been burnt for years, too sore
(1 melanoma and 2 dysplastic moles removed)
Hi JBV
good morning everyone
its ok,dont li sten to ole crossy and his 15 stitches in his great ole gut....
there were a lot of topless women on holiday and I kept thinking how sore it would be to burn 'the girls'
hi JBV
Hello JBV.
It's not avoidance of sunburn that is the focus, it is protection from harmful UVA + UVB rays.
I'm listening, will put some on before I go out again
it's not just the immediate sunburn, katie, it's the aftermath many years later
You've relieved my mind, Katie.
Ouch, thinking of burned girls.
think of digging leisons out of the top arch of your boobies....
It's just that we care about you, Kitt.
So many of these makeover shows feature women whose skin is like leather because they've overdone the tanning.
we call the the saddle ladies
I know scrabbler, that's why I'm listening
We don't really care, Katie, we just like to bully and give advice!
Lol Haz
LOL, Hazel
my last bad sunburn was when i was about 19 (40 years ago) but I'm just seeing the consequences now
like tooled leather need a hole punch every day just to put the ear rings in;)
Do you really have earrings, Cwossy?
no,i use clip ons..
i feel like i'm going nowhere with this grid - have 93 words but no grey boxes!
Haha, Cwossy. I have virgin ear lobes.
I have 94 and 4 grey boxes.
i'm waiting for the result show of Britain's Got Talent. taped the show yesterday but forgot to tape the results dohhhhh!
I know the results.
ok, done.. so off I go. Taking laptop, so I'll see you all next grid. Thanks for the great clues, Haz.. ttfn

Yippee Aloy. Enjoy being with your granddaughter.
Bye Aloy!
bye Aloy!
bye aloy
the winners were fantastic
I managed to miss seeing the final - for some reason I thought it was on later. However, I've seen bits on the website so it's all okay.
I agree, Katie, I've loved them from the start.
Any sc words?
No sc words
They were why I started to watch it, normally wouldn't bother so very glad they did so well
TY Hazel. I shall stop typing away with sc words then. None have worked, now I know why.
They're so entertaining and young and enthusiastic.
thought everyone was great except the dancer on his own and the two grand
Time for a second cup of coffee. anybody want some?
Not for me, thanks, Scrabbler, just finished one.
Isn't it nice to see something so positive with young males, all we ever get is bad news normally
i'm on decaf thanks scrabbler
Exactly, Katie, and there was such great camaraderie between them.
I had a tear in my eye when they had finished
katie, i agree, I don't know if you saw my post friday night - we had an event at school that was planned and carried out by the students - everyone was bursting with pride at the way they took charge - it was awesome
Isn't it great to witness/know great kids?
I saw it, JBV. It's wonderful when young people fulfil their potential.
it was an awards assembly- they're usually boring and dry, when run by the school administrators, but this one we turned over to the students (with a faculty advisor) and it was all theirs - fantastic! - they put some performances in amid the award certificates - we would have never thought of that - and of course the parents loved it
That's fantastic JBV, there are so many fanastic young ones out there but all you hear about is the bad ones
forgive me for going on - but I just have to say one more thing - these were our bilingual students, so the whole thing was done in two languages (everybody in the audience understands Spanish except the top VIPs in the school administration) and these kids don't usually have a chance to star in the spotlight
Did anyone record it so that it can be seen again, JBV?
yes, we have a district cable TV channel so it will be there
I went to a homeless hostel on Friday and met with some recovering heroine addicts, they had done so much to get themselves into a better place (with a lot of great people supporting them) I think the glow will stay with me for a long time
That's good - even for the young people who took part to be able to see how it went.
And Katie trots off to the PB with a glow...
Good for them, Kitt. That is very tough work, to recover from serious addictions.
and I also have created a Ning for our staff so we can post it there too
that's a good word, Katie - glow - exactly
Which word, Hazel?
Scrabbler narrowly missing joining her. ad7
shuffling to pb whilst trying to work out which work it is
It was a good one, Katie! ad7/40
As an ad6 to words I can overlook my own problem.
would have been better if I had known it was in the grid lol
Ah well, two free words!
just got to 100 words, so I'll take a break - good luck and see you later
Bye JBV
Bye JBV. Say hello to hubby
popping he** out of pb to say goodbye, see you later.
Are you in the spa, Kitt? Someone installed one in the PB.
Bye Katie.
fingernails and toenails done! sedation via Dora the Explorer!
Well, time for me to head off - happy babbling to all (and Scrabbler, delighted to know that a new work opportunity has arrived) Bye for now!
Yippee for you, feather! No injuries is always a good outcome.

http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2009-0 5-31/ Dilmom is my hero!
hi, judi
totally stalled -- off for the list
first bo 5/16, please?
hello all, here to dabble a bit.
same here... dabbling before owl comes by
hello dorens -- are you seeing TO today? JOY!
she's visiting her dad, and on her way home she passes about five miles from me, so the plan is today she will swing by.
beautiful weather here to sit outside and try to babble in the sun... the sun does make it difficult to see the screen, however
I hope you have a good time... is the weather cooperating? It is HOT here again.
LOL as I was sayin'...
how hot is hot? it's about 80 or so, and there is a delightful breeze rustling through the trees
seems to be a fairly cooperative grid so far, up to 39 already
well, around here this time of year 65 is respectable and short-sleeve weather... we are in the low 80s for the past three days.
i've 80 left and sseriously thinking of the grid... not seeing them easily now, but i'm blaming the sun on the screen
that was my problem too.. too sunny here...lol
first bo 5 please?
hello ruru!!! sure, blame the sun. why not?
I think you want the funny spelling for what soda and fancy water and wine come in.
bo + most of the top of your body
bo + beginning of long word for phone
The sun must be in my eyes, because I've missed some really stupid 4-letter words.
low 80's works for me,,. when iat's hot here it is in the 90's with high humidity... today is nice and dry, ken just got a convertible and it was a great day to drive out for breakfast
LOL Judi!
lol judi
we don't often get much humidity in the summer, but yesterday was a bit muggy...
**** passes Judi some shades ***
hi, stid and dorens
hey DC long time!@
I think that is the last one stid
howdy, ruru :)
how you doin' seain?
Summer is ALL about the humidity here. Been dryish the last few days
hi dcd.. been a while?
ty ruru
i'm alright, stid. bit stressed about the concert next sunday.
Thanks, Ruru. I look cooler, but I'm no smarter. Alas.
you?
oh yes, dc in the summer is to be avoided
I think you'll do fine, seain. Where are you playing? what pieces?
what is stressing about a concert?
yes, esp when dc forgets his BO juice... *wicked mama look*
oh no, my neighbor just fire up the chain saw... it was so peaceful a minute ago!!!
bummer, dorens.
playing @ Gar-Field Senior High School in Dale City, VA, and we're performing Brandenburg Concerto No3, Abridge, and Hoedown
***passes some extra brains to Judi too with the cool Ray Bans ***
LOL, Dorens. More power!!!!
hiya friends!
goodness, the sun is affecting my typing too, just read all my typos... sorry
Abridged that should read :">
that sounds like a lovely program! You'll have fun, I just know it.
hey weedy
Ruru, i've not played in an orchestral environment in 23 years
HEY FEATHER! how's you? NO -- you don't want another. Not even a little. remember that last month before hand? and then think: a minimum of 18 years with it. *shudder*
hoedown?
hi, Feather
Copland's Hoedown
aren't you suupposed to be doing this for fun, dc? so, have fun
cr7 please?
lol, keep talkin stid, this is what i need!
the "beef, it's what's for dinner' music

I'm taking a break with 33 left. Going to make some nice chilly smoothies, eat the other half of my bagel and shave my sasquatch legs. Later, mon amis!
i truly don't want another, but i do yearn for a little girl. going to be a long wait for a granddaughter!
copland!! my dad was his lawyer and good friend!
what;s wrong with nieces feather?
LOL judi (very yeti)
Neato, dorens :)
lol, bye judi
okay, then let's think about it. How old are you now? calculate your age when that one hits K, and middle school, and high school. Also, let's talk about the whole putting on a wedding deal.
ty ruru
later Judi!
hello 46 to go
you don't want to be one of those women with four or five boys, do you? i know several...and it is so sad
yw
first dh 6?
i have one dorens, but she's in NJ and we don't see her much
d+ owl sounds + vowell
true what dorens said: you could always adopt, but then ... *shrug*
yes, dc, very neato... have some nice pictures of when they went down to dc for aaron to be given the congressional medal of honor or some such thing... pictures in his biography with my dad in it, actually
plus, my biggest obstacle, is we only have 3 bedrooms. i really don't want anyone to have to share a room!
folks across the street from me just adopted an adorable 4 year old girl from china
thanks again ruru
aww
yw
that's way nifte, dorens
no, you don't want to move. Bigger house means more cleaning.
oh then feather the answer is obvious. borrow frineds' daughters and nieces and such until you get a granddaughter.... and you know from teaching that boys are so much easier than girls, don't you?
never moving. love this house.
tell me about it stid
yes, exactly dorens!
yes, borrow. That is my plan. Only flaw of course is that my kids' friends are all boys -- from families of boys... *sigh*
i was very happy with my two boys, then i had to go and have a daughter, and it bore out completely what i said.. she was the most obsitnate of them all, not nearly as compliant, no matter what anyone says
yeah, we have a real boy glut here too it seems. not that it's bad, just kind of funny!
cr6 clue anyone?
that's a girl for ya.. boys are so much more well-mannered..don't you think DC?
sorry harp, no idea..
stid, you will find some to borrow. if you need them, but no one really needs girls, do they? (that's what the chinese seem to think)
*pokes ruru hard in the ribs* sit down and eat your brussels sprouts!
woman's name harp sounds like a chandelier piece
there's a lot less drama with the boys, that's for sure. if they fight, once they apologize, they're done with it and ready for the next game. no grudges!
ouch!
thanks for the cr 6
so true feather...girls carry grudges
I enjoy being a girl... makeup and pretty dresses and high heels... and a nice hairstyle. *sigh* Haven't needed any of that in 20 years though.
i love brussels sprouts! (cause i'm a girl?)
I'll remember that, ruru!
thanks
lol, i was never a girly girl like that. my luck, i'd have a girl and she'd be like me, eschewing all things pink!
there are a lot of guys that enjoy being girls too stid...come to SF
evebody sing now....WHEN MEN SAY I'M CUTE AND... FUN...NY, AND MY TEETH AREN'T TEETH BUT PEARL.....
Ruru, studies have found that women in the workplace do not work cooperatively, but rather always competitively, where as men usually will cooperate with each other.
I JUST LAP IT UP LIKE...HON...NEY
I JUST LAP IT UP LIKE HONEY! I ENJOY BEING A GIRL!
L-O-L-A Lola! Lo-lo-lo-lo-lola!

he must be one popular dude!!!
I answer a hundred or so calls a day at work
men are such great task masters huh DC?
that's work, though. That's not enjoying the task
do you have ot4 man's name stid?
i've had precious few male superisors through the years.
i feel like i haven't done much of anything today, i should go find something constructive to do
no dorens, I didn't. do now!
i always wanted to be in a feminist theater group that sang that song while showing the absurd things women do to look beautiful....
is that the one? i'm not much good at figuring which is which, but i do have the center o
think i'll go check and see if our beans or carrots have sprouted yet. bbl.
sounds like a good show harp, do it!
sigrular of the center o, dorens
the plural is the center one
lol weed.. you must be bored
one of the things that kept me out of the workforce for so many years (aside from feeling the kids benefitted more from my presence than more money) was that I HATED the competitive, back-stabbing, brown-nosing, ruthlessness of office life.
Good afternoon, could I get a clue for the 8 letter word?
later feather... (no, you don't want a girl!)
hasta, feather.
people who are not on the right marc
there's an 8??? *sigh* teach me to play before I look
hi, marc, i don't have it yet

YAY nan!
Heard those guys a lot when I was going to Berkeley in the early 70's
I was always too stoned to remember those years..
if someone told me i'd be in a gym, exercising to "wooly bully", I would have not believed them....
and yet, here I am
so I still need an E from the fourth row down. any help?
it sure was interesting... lots of fun, actually
being a kid in the sixties was something else all right....

get a grip stid, you start getting discounts when you turn 55!
LINDY! hey there!
** concerned RURU look at stid **
I really need to go, but the conversations are so great. *sigh*
hi Stid & all
discounts where/???
hi, lindy
hi nan and lind
how about when the year comes around that senior discounts kick in I'll buy a red hat and print my age on it?
just wait until you turn 65 -- the government starts paying you!
who is immature for his years lindy?
okay, me out for now. back late tonight. to finish. ((hugs all)) *poof*
if the cap fits ruru! lol
when i turn 65 i am retiring with pension and medical benefits. and these days i think it can't come soon enough
be well, stid!
oooh now you are in BIG trouble
later stid (0:
later stidders... watch that brandy!
LOL ruru
Dorens I plan on retiring next year, but with no pension )0:
We are both thoroughly enjoying retirement -- every day is a holiday. Besides, the alternative is not too swift!
doesn't canada take care of you though, lind?
I am semi-retiring in 5 years
not at 44 Dorens! lol
oh no, not at 44, i woudln't think. so why are you retiring, or is that too personal?
that is not retiring lindy that is called being a bum...lol
leave your cpp in, though lindrick -- it will pay big time when you turn 60
Just fed up with working such long hours Dorens, want to have fun and be a BUM!!
will do nan if I stay here
I am back, had to make lunch for the wife.
hi Marc
hi
my sister stopped working about ten years ago, lind, now i think she regrets it financially and it is harder to get a job after not working when you're in the 50's
** pats Marc on the head... good hubby **
well I'll consider that when the time comes (0:
I am a better cook, she is a great cook when she wants to but she rarely wants to.
if you're a better cook, why would she?
It works. I don't always cook. Only for myself usually. She does cook mostly for herself. She loves her cooking and my cooking. Unfortunately, I usually only like my cooking.
A clue for ad6 please?

Hello again Babble buddies
hi scrabbs!
hi scrabs
How are you doing, Seain?
hey Scrabs! Has your job application been successful?
scrabbs, my bunny doing better now that i've gone back to the food i used to feed him, now that it's available again. :)
Geez, I am typing all of the phantoms that I typed in this morning. Silly Scrabbler.
Seain, I have used Oxbow Bunny Basic T for years, and the 15/23 when they are babies, for the first year. And I have a variety of Oxbow hays.
never heard of nor seen that one
changing jobs scrabb?
Sprite...I was offered a job at the nearby local practice! Meeting tomorrow 7am. I have to type a resignation letter later and face Richard tomorrow afternoon.
Nutriphase Gold is what he's had most of his life.
hope it all goes well, scrabbs!
oxbow is one of the better brands, but really, rabbits should be on hay or grass, not pelleted anything--the pellets are bad for their teeth.
yes yes yessssssssss! You face mr D. He4 down tomorrow, wonderful. Congratulations, dear Scrabs.
Yep, Jean, I am lucky to escape.
good on ya
Yes, Jess, they get very little volume of pellets, but unlimited hay, and 2 salads daily.
power to the people
good, scrabs :)
death to the di**he***
I am still in shock that I will be free in 121 days.
Sebastian refuses to eat hay but he eats lots of greens.
my sister finally went over the wall after 20 years of wording for The Supreme Allied Commander of the World's A**holes
that long? Whoh, that is very long. Still, it is finite.
she's a new person
Richard is likely to make thinks difficult during the transition, so I must be cautious.
have you had his teeth checked? most rabbits take really well to hay.
*working
I bet that Richard is a member of that group, Jean.
sounds like
He is 7, Jess, and eats well, just doesn't like hay of any type---oat, timothy, brome, orchard grass.
did you quit, scrab? or is richard leaving?
if he gives you trouble, Scrabs, tell him the Babblers will attack.
i ust have missed something; last i heard he was being a jerk and you were stressed?
I am switching to the local, rural practice where I worked when out of residency. I got burned out due to the hospital demands but the OB dept shut down and the ER docs take care of kids, so it is a different place to work now.
Bun-bun loves his clover
Clue for the center O please?
plural man's name, car :)
good for you! hopefully things will be much more reasonable there :)
Bless you! It was driving me nuts!
He is a narcissist, control freak, micromanager---good for him and his business, but morale is low for all and he demeans us daily.
Fresh or dried clover, Seain?
he will kill the business that way, slowly. WTG for you for leaving and making sure you'll enjoy working again.
It will be nice to be with relaxed, kind, trustworthy colleagues that don't play the parent-pleasing games.
my sister's boss (attorney) still hasn't learned his lesson and he's had more people leave than you can count
Sprite, we have had an exodus of nurses due to abuse.
Fresh, scrabbs, i can easily grab some just by taking a walk.
Sad, isn't it, Jean, when difficult people don't see that they repel everyone around them.
that's what I mean. Am so glad for you. You deserve no less than a good place to work.
worked at a clinic once where i was the senior receptionist when i'd been there 2 months :(
I have some in my yard too, Seain, but I never tried it.
grab dandilions too, if you're picking fresh; they love 'em
The 2 charge nurses are bullies, which he doesn't see, and we cannot keep nurses for long.
very few around, but i'll do that, jes :) dandelions are yummy
I give them romaine, red & green le4 lettuce, endive, escarole, parsley, dandelions, and occ kale.
you're in a big enough place, you may be able to find dandilions at a co-op or store. not around here though; but i can just pick them in the yard, so it's all good :)
in a couple of months you'll be able to say 'them' and not 'us' about the madhouse, Scrabs.
Also broccoli crowns
thanks for the le scrabs! I managed to miss that :)
he doesn't like kale, i've tried. hm maybe broccoli
I forget his name, Seain.
mine loves cilantro too
mine is Bun-bun, named by a 2 year old :)
Oh, yes, I have given them cilantro. I don't like the odor but it doesn't bother them.
perfect name for a bunny
My sister in NJ, also a bunny lover, has a 10 yr old bunny.
you don't like it? I love cilantro! (hence why i have it around to share with hitchiker)
Soemthing about the smell turns me off.
i like cilantro, but Tom hates it.
It's ok cooked, but fresh gets to me.
ah. well, at least you can still enjoy salsa and stuff then; just have to cook it first
jes to the sin bin
i did what now? oh! crap. sorry all.
lol
/me shuffles away in shame
Toss out some goodies, Jes
never shame. Sin bin is the best place in babble!
*digs around to see what's been left in the box....
Yesterday I went geocaching with my sistre and cousin but we couldn't find either cache at the locations. We were so disappointed.
geocaching?
what on earth is geocaching?
I went geocaching wit ha friend @ the National Arboretum, but there was a fence between us and the coordinate, and the gate was locked.
Check out www.geocaching.com. It is so much fun. Your kids would love doing it, Sprite!
ok, will take a look!
anywhere you travel you can find caches
looks like fun
It is a great family activity
You can get travel bugs that can go all over the globe
FYI, "footon" is not an accepted variation of futon
omg there are locations very close here!
lol scrabs, no it is not. But I tried anyway.
and a day trip to Hilversum will find you many more
Yes, everywhere, Sprite. Do you have a handheld GPS?
no, I don't think so. But I think I actually go to therapy on one of the locations.
lol and the clues are in dutch
geocaching is a world-wide activity
thanks for the hint, I will check this out, my kids WOULD love this indeed.
It's much fun, sprite :)
We had a great hike deep in the forest yesterday.
:)
Seain, it is neat that you enjoy it too. Most people have never heard about it.
a lot of my friends geocache, as do many of my coworkers
husband loves geocaching. and hi!

How was Sark, Ata? It seems like such a magical place.
Good afternoon all.
did you have fun, Ata?
hi peach
hi peach
It is a beautiful, sunny day here. I do hope it is nice where ever you are.
i'm going to wander away a bit. back later for the last 19. have a good afternoon all, and congrats again on the new job Scrab!
bye jes
it was amazing here today, lovely weather
HI all ... {{Scrabbler}}} you got a new job?
hi Mom
{{Sprite}} hello
TY, Jes
Hi Mom! Yes, I get to escape Richard.
May Ii please have clues for any of the first 4 fo's Thanks
Hi Ga Peach!
Thought I'd stop in and say hi
Hi Pam!
Hey there, Scrabbler.
peach: think arsenic and such, but start F
Hi, scrabs
I have fo6 = rhymes with a toxin, then pl for a 7
pammmmmmmm! *hugs*
that is wonderful Scrabbler, where will you be working?
The fo5 rhymes with ho5 <----to lift something very heavy
next 2: a little bit wet = m****. Start F. Plural.
A rural practice much closer to home.
congratulations! When do you start?
fireworks. Anything I can help with before I split?
congratulations Sprite
congrats, sprite!!!
thanks :)
Did I see that Ata's back?
how've you been, pam?
well. and you, sprite?
Yahoo Sprite!
ata's back!
steadily upwards, pam.
interesting grid today, some real stinkers among them!
sorry. I keep going off into half a snooze lol
Mom, there is a 120 day notice, so I will submit my letter tomorrow and 120 days completed means my last day is Sept 28
welcome back, ata!
lol Ata
Glad to hear it, sprite.
got back at 3:30am this morning
you must be exhausted...
I wish you well Scrabbler, maybe Richard will let you go early
had a *wonderful* time. relaly wonderful. Liz is so lovely, and the whole of her family is too. We just walked and walked and walked most of the days and let the dogs bounce madly
Sounds wonderful!
must love and leave you guys, bedtime for me. Welcome home, Ata. Glad to see you again, pam. Good luck during the notice time, Scrabs, and hold on to Sep 28. Bye Mom and peach and seain. *hugs to you all*
Thanks much, y'all. Haqve all except the first and second fo's.
Scrabs, if he lets you go sooner, will you leave sooner?
Ciao, sprite. Sleep well.
pleasant dreams Sprite
Sweet dreams, sprite.
I do not foresee being let go sooner as my presence is needed badly
you will be in my prayers Scrabbler that the time will go smoothly
And I could agree to stay on longterm in a very part-time capacity, in order to continue seeing beloved families, but I want to be done with him.
he must be a real piece of work, Scrabbler
I am sending positive energy to you, Scrabbs.
He sure is. he should be a politician.
TY all.
oh dear
I don't blame you, scrabs. Will you still be part-time? Or is the new job full-time? I didn't see your answer yesterday.
Smooth-talker, defensive, manipulative
Also, what about the non-compete? Is there one?
Scrabbler you could leave the door open to leaving early by saying you will work until a suitable replacement has been found. or for 120 days.
I will remain part-time but will increase hours when the youngest doc has a baby in Oct
casn't you take your loved clients with you to the new practice?
I can't wait until you are done with him for your sake!
people like that make me sick to my stomach
Oh, that's great, Scrabs!!!!
The non-compete clause is tricky so I must be cautious.....he does make me sick, Mom. I start getting anxious Sunday evenings and then always sleep poorly Monday nights after a day with him.
that is no way to live. Do you work with him every day?
I am sure you will be cautious. I am so sorry he is so pervasive.... Glad you will be done with him at the end of Sept.
38 to go and I need to return to yad work/gardening. There is a freeze advisory tonight so I will not plant stuff today, but I am preparing the soli.
Take care Scrabbler, it was good to see you
Yes, everyday, Mom, and then there are the notes in our office mail boxes and the e-mails.
good thoughts and prayers coming your way, Scrabbler
TY, Bugsaw

good idea
sorry, classmate wanted to talk. Yes, ch, I have been accepted to the Master's program I applied for, so am frantically doing a last push in post-bac work to be ready for it.
It's not a blisteringly easy grid, that's for sure.
We're all so proud of you!
*blush* aw, shucks!

F + most of what is on a jar with skulls and crossbones

small home - 3 bd / 2ba, huge yard, covered patio, storage shed, double garage. Fireplace. Just right for the two of us. Plenty of room for my office and a library :)
down to 25 now. really like having lickety's list. I would never finish otherwise.
LOL seems big to me!
It's under 1100 square feet. The garage makes it seem larger, I think. 19 left.
Yes, that is manageable then. Our home is about 1600 and seems small for four people, a dog, a turtle and a bird. Hard even to have friends over.
OH! True! We're planning to adopt a dog now that we'll have a yard. Maybe a cat too.
how about the LE 6?
plural, stid.
NO!!!!!...... *sigh* thanks.
goodmorning all

silp on a shirt....slop on some sun cream and slap on a hat...it is the aussie mantra...
it was a campaign sarted...erm..in the 80's???
Slip on a Tshirt - Slop on some sunscreen - SSlap on a hat. We have a VERY high incidence of melanoma in Australia
hi, ga!!!
the corner I is a flower
help me here lynxxx...was it then?
That campaign got a lot of press here when Aussie started it...
sis the effect of slipping on a shirt akin to slipping on a banana peel?
Well, if you lived here, and the sun shone once every 2½ years, you'd forget slip slap slop, and get out and bake!!
its still going pam....
yes it is a pretty flower, but I would like the NON corner i
also the corner i is part of the eye
me too
slip slap slop sounds like mud wrestling to me
soodle..thats why the incidence of melanoma is exploding in the uk now

I like Balvenie, too. (SOmeone has given me great gifts!) What's the MCCallans like?

I love balvenie.. I have a 15 year old of that ..yummy
Its nice and smokey, earthy
It's OK, MaMaWA, thanks.
McCallans is the best...
i dont like these dh words!
I have a 15 waiting to be corked, ruru--of the Balvenie. I gave a friend one of the other gifts I had been given....
So, less peaty than the laphroaig?
dhon't do them.. dhthen
dern my pc is fritzing brb
oh yes less peaty.. more smoky though.
funny ruru :p~
And, how would you classify the balvenie? compared to the macallan?
LOL, ruru.... SOrry, kaz, haven't started dhthose yet...
balvenie is woodier and more smooth
mccallan is caramelly and lush and very precise on the palate.
Thanks, ruru. I know I like them, but can't figure out the "real" terms.
i found them using morewords...too tired to keep monkeying them!!!!
Though, one whiff of laphroaig and peat does come to mind!
I should look for a macallan .... not in the near future, but still, LOL
I like Laphroaig though..got to be in the mood.
BO + male + vowel
That is REALLY true, ruru. The coolish rainy evenings we had recently motivated me....
I should send you some mccallans
I think I need to get a cheap red -- cheaper than even I usually drink--for some sangria. I LOVE sangria--no added sugar, just some fruit...
Cyber macallans is great, ruru!
Thanks so much, gramma.
My last word is oo5/12; any clues would be appreciated.
get a cheap beaujolais for sangria
oo5 relates to ovum gramma
finally, for some reason the virus scan is going on and I cant have that in the midst of babblingh
And, thanks for the scotch thoughts, ruru!
beaujolais? really? good to know
OY, mAmA
tastes better with a light chill.. better for sangria
I'm sooo not getting it. This talk of drinking has me quite distracted. I can hardly swallow my vodka!
I never, ever would have known that, ruru! Thanks, so much! And, I can find it really cheap!
Whew, it stopped
LOL gramma
you can buy mcCallans in a little bottle to try it.. the big bottles are really pricey now..
oo + s***dly winks, gramma
oh yes.. $6.99 pam
bo + not she + vowel
I was thinking the little bottle, ruru--for the macallans
Got it! ty
I won't cork the balvenie for a while--have the laphroaig going. But, I might be tempted to try the macallans as an interlude!
great and congrats on fireworks, gram
oops sorry I got behind in the chog lol
prepare for heaven
Talk about little bottles...my husband brought home a fifth of vodka and I told him it was a nip. They serve bigger bottles on airplanes.
It's thundering so here, for a minute I thought you were referring to the end of the world, ruru! Must be the scotch!
LOL, gram.
I enjoy the occasional rusty nail, but would not use a premo, single malt for that
I like sangria in the summer.
Back to the grandbabies and bottle. ( It seems appropriate together.) Before I run (or stumble) any1 need a clue?
I don't like mixed drinks--except mararitas.
and Fireworks for me.
LOL, gram. Have fun!
Congrats, zooz
wtg zooz, me too
Rusty nail is my winter drink, scotch ( chivas) and Drambuie
WTG zoozzoom!
well done Kazozz
Adios!
with all this talk of booze, why isn't "hics" a word?
I drink wine year round. Beer, too. But sangria in the summer....
thank you pam & gramma :-)
by grammma
I don't care for beer
Yes, please, I need a clue for we6-30. Thanks
Congrats, zoozzoom
I like stout and porter, ruru. And the occasional lager. I don't drink nearly as often as I talk about it, though, LOL!
It sounds like tweety bird wold give an excuse
thanks Gapeach
thank god.. you were starting to sound like a boozer pam...lol
we6, or tweety bird drunk lol
no room in the fridge for food..lol
Hello again. I used up all of my mulch doing the backyard garden. My body is seizing up.

Yes, Nef, I have taken breaks. And it was a cool day so not much sweating. That helped.
Ouch, scrabs, sorry! I cleaned off my deck. Such a nice urban space, but really worked too fast/too hard. Should have slowed down
Thanks zoozzoom and MaMaWA....that was fireworks. Couldn't have done it without you. See you after the flip.
I am creating a new garden plot too--sunnier spot for tomatoes.
Sounds great, though, scrabs! Bet it looks great, too!
yw bye gapeach
This was my first weekend off in 4 wks so I have a lot to catch up on. Then guess what? We have a freeze advisory tonight, so I didn't plant the tomatoes, peppers, etc and will bring in my containers.
Woohoo ga see ya in the chog
Yippee Georgia!
These past few nights have been very cool here also, Scrab. Woke up with a sore throat this am

Well, we have Nef instead
ri7,28 a rice dish
Stuck with 37 to go--time to open the list
...and to see all of the obvious words that I should have seen.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hello minveryork
Hi Min. I am sore and chilled from gardening all day in cool weather.
Hi Min
Yes, nef did a great job, scrabs, of pointing that out, LOL
hi, min!
hi all! sorry to hear you're achy scrabs
be6 anyone, please?
I did some gardening today too,but not sore & chilled
hi, nrkii
Hello nrkii! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
But it is a nice achiness, N, because I did a lot of garden work. Body aches + fatigue = satisfaction.
N, how is your father doing?
thanks... have my 4th headache in as many days... I think it's all the yellow pine tree crap that's in the air
my dad is doing well, thanks scrabs
he's started doing the cooking again and he's not using a walker or cane to get around
ugh, nrkii! So sorry...
I have had a lot of migraines in the last few weeks from weather triggers---rain/thunderstorms
seems like a miracle when you consider where things were in March
be6/36 is be plus ho4/8 (what horses have) Scrabbler
allergies and rain have done it to me, scrabs and nrkii
rain can cause that too?
Yippee for N's dad! He has a will to live, that is for sure!
thanks, min
TY, N
off to bed now..happy babbling everyone
yw
tremendous will to live, yes
Sleep well, zoom
bye zooz!
yippeee, nrkii's dad!
ciao, zooz
Goodbye zoozzoom!I will see you tomorrow in the log
my big problem with headaches is that I never seem to treat them early enough... I always count on them going away on their own, even after the 4th day in a row
so I still haven't gotten up to get meds for this one
that's not so great, nrkii
If I cannot abort mine early enough (naproxen) then mine will last about 36-48 hrs.
oh, I"m glad you said naproxen... that always works for me, but someone told me it shouldn't work because it was anti-inflammatory not anti-pain, so I thought maybe I was just "making" it work :)
okay, crossing the room to get naproxen
I don't always try to abort, because sometimes, they don't last long, and I never know which it will be... I should, therefore, always take meds. I am just too damned stubborn
I LOVE ALEVE... it works best....
For the last several weeks I have been seeing lots of kids in the office with bad headaches that upon further questioning are migraines. other docs would just use the wastebasket term "sinus headache". I am a better doc for having my diagnoses.
Well, if something OTC will work....
You are the better doc!
There are also sinus migraines.....
2 naproxen down... in about 15 mins, I'll be pain free
Naproxen (in Aleve) is a NSAID like ibuprofen and aspirin...non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug--analgesic too
Yahoo N!
it's that time of year, sinus headaches, migraines, etc.... I don't think I've ever had a migraine though
Great, nrikii!
just bad headaches that go from neck straight up to top of head
I would bet that what you consider to be a "sinus headache" is really a migraine.
maybe... my mom always described them as affecting the eyes and sometimes causing nausea
hi all....
I haven't had that
Have you tried O2 therapy, scrabs?
Hi, carlee
hi carlee!
Pounding, around & behind the eye, with sensitivity to light +/or sound, and some nausea.
hi there pam
yep, I've been lucky, never had that
Hello carleekat! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
nrkii long time no see!!!
Maybe it is a tension headache, N. Does your life have any tension? Mine doesn't. LOL
I get an incredibly tender spot above my right eye, in the center of the brow. Tender and painful to the touchs, scrabs. SO weird....
but I have been stuffed up something fierce for last 4 weeks, so I think the headache is allergy related
MINVER..how are u?...I haven't seen u in a dog's age
Pam, I do try to breathe in O2 regularly.
maybe I'll take claritin tomorrow...
oh, no tension at all here Scrab
Hi Carlee. Was this a girl guide weekend?
and yeah, tends to happen when I don't rest my neck enough
LOL, scrabs. I meant for your headaches . Oxygen threapy
last weekend was...and the next 2 weekends are..this weekend is my hurry up catch up on all the house work and open the pool weekend
Pam, I have a trigger spot on my left occiput--back of my he4
Did you swim?
no....water is only 55F
I haven't seen you forever either carleekat, but I've been here almost single day.I'm a total Babble ad6/27
I guess those are all common trigger spots....
i'm rarely here in evening
I don't know about O2 therapy for headaches
I finished the C's finally.
A friend I recently reconnected with--we went to JR high together--is an internist and she recommended it....
Hot peppermint tea anyone?
glad the c's are down....
I never see you, Carlee. Glad all's well
Yes, scrabs, here....
have you tried it yet pam?
Pam, does a person have an O2 tank at home then?
*pouring hot peppermint tea into Pam's mug*
I don't know scrabs, I am going to do some research. Or ask her, LOL
no, nrkii. i haven't
help with co 7 36 please?
ooh, found it
Scrabs recommended magnesium and b12---feverfew, too--in a supplement that is preventive. When I remember to take the larger doses of magnesium, I seem to have a better chance of treating the headaches... and they don't last as long
pl of co6 = to help....NM, you've got it
ok...ugly betty on..time to go again...enjoy the evening all....hopefully back in am
or, the headache cycle doesn't last as laong, I should say.... So, last week, I got more magnesium
N, read about MigreLief
Bye Carlee
bye carlee!
Have fun, carlee
Goodbye carleekat! I will see you tomorrow in the log
The list always reveals the obvious words that I missed. I am sitting here saying, "Silly Scrabbler, how could you miss that?"

co 7 = makes changes to a document ALONG WITH someone else
ta nrkii

Hi movieman! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi minver
everything's top hole at my end
Hello everyone! all well?
Hello Trifioso! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
hello min. We are fixing to have ourselves a ripping thunderstorm in a minute
Hi everyone. We had quite a wind event here a couple of hours ago. Gusts up to 61mph. I went out to the garden to cover the plants and heard a tree cracking and hit behind the car because I didn't know where the tree was coming down. Luckily it didn't hit anything. Lost power for a couple of hours but everything is back to normal now except it's going to frost tonight.
Oh!! OH!!! We have a rainbow in our yard!!! my favorite thing!
nice tri enjoy it
hello e1
hey trif how was church?
hey trif how was church? hi all
Hi jmc. Everything went very well, thanks! We didn't have to go to the front after all, so that was good. Mr. Hate is SUCH a tool. He apparently had new wall to wall installed in the new house. Meanwhile, Secondo can't go on the class trip? I don't think so.
How can men turns their backs on their children like that?
hmm the connection in my back isn't so good
i hear ya tri
they are taught that imho
and women help them along by being all "I'll take care of it."
yeah, well, I am all over this one. That is why I got a lawyer.
good for you Trif
but church really was lovely. Secondo did GREAT at the reading she had to do. She had all the hard words, and she handled it beautifully
nice to hear -- did secondo get to see the rainbow?
she found it, and ran to tell me! She is so dear
this afternoon, primo's GF had her last dance recital ever, as she graduates from HS next weekend. She did fine, but one girl (also a senior) LOST it during her solo, and had to run from the stage, puking. My heart just broke for her. Poor thing!
how sweet -- maybe it's a sign
brb I need a better internet connection
Sounds like secondo did great. Glad to ehar that, trif!
sorry my comment appeared to relate to the poor girl who fled :-( obviously I was referring to the rainbow
LOL, jmc....
Better connected now?
geez I have not one single grey tile!
I am in my hammock in the backyard with a margarita and had to get the verizon dealee
Sounds lovely, jmc!
it is it is :-D
i'm jealous
my son and I build this slab patio ourselves
Cool, jmc
it took two years of moving 2 to4 of slab around in the worlds heaviest jigsaw puzzle
I didn't know you had a child, jmc! how old is he?
23 -- some child! he's out at a friends house tonight
That's a lot of slab!
wow. I am sure mine will be 23 before I even know it!
it was amazing to see them crane it in to my yard from the alley
23 is an improvement over 18 and younger imho
I have a deck--I am on the second floor--it's 8' deep and 16 wide. Not bad for a city apt. but i'd love to use the downstairs side porch more--more private, LOL... Shady, too. The downstairs folks use it a lot, though...
Decks, patios, etc. make all of the difference.
have you thought about adding an awning?
I kind of like cranes....
I agree pam. My city friend has a roof deck, and it is wonderful
not a bird pam. . . lol
I might have a wood pergola-type roofy thing done...
evening all
hi dan
I know, jmc... I like watching heavy lifting cranes at work...
hi, dan!
dan2! how are you? Took a page out of your book, btw - fostering kittens
me too that was one of the fun aspects of having a son! heavy equipment! :-)
I am on the second floor, trif... Swept it clear of leaves and such today. Should have done it weeks ago.... The mold and etc is killing me.....
LOL, jmc
cool Trif! doing well, just back from a Virgin Islands week with mrs2bit. very relaxed
sounds nice dan
EXCELLENT, dan!!!
tan rested and ready to run like tricky dick?
tan and rested, anyway :-)
one of my all time favorite t-shirts
LOL, jmc
my other fav is: The Few The Proud The Moravians!
"Dyslexics of the World Untie!"
That's funny, jmc!
An eye for an eye and pretty soon the whole world goes blind!
I am fond of "national sarcasm society. Like we need your support!"
lol trif I have never seen that one!
Your child might be an honor student but *you* are a moron
LOL, trif
so I am asuming the n word is no -- right?
my other fave has a scribbly drawing of a dog, a vacuum, and then a fan on it, and under it says "this bites, this sucks, this blows"
don't have it, jmc
LOL, trif
is anyone listing yet?
hi everybody!
hi beach

YAY, wild!
That happens to me all of time Trifioso. I can relate!
about the same time i remember to look for english and american spellings, trif

thanks, min, that's firewords
Congratulations jesdraggon on fireworks! Good for U
clue for first fo 6, 27 please?
fo6 rhymes with something that can kill you Trifioso.
never mind, I got it
that weird babble thing, where as soon as you publicly ask for a word, the monkeys giggle and give it up.
Evening all.
good evening, red!!!
Hi, red
Hi redturtlehead! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
I got to 98 in the morning and now it seems I dont have any more in me!!!
Ok, well up to 102, so I guess I had a few.
May I have a clue for be 5,14 ?
Hi again. Does anyone have a clue for the 8? I keep trying out compounds with the green things, but nothing has worked.

I'm guessing this will be embarassing, but may I please have a clue for co 5,14 after the salmon type?
What did eva say? I don't see a grid word?

Congratulations elliott13 on fireworks! Hooray for U!
I am a babble ad 6/27 and proud of it! I'm glad there are other babble ad 7/40 in the world. Dr. God had a great id 4/5 when he created th 4/5. Sometimes my hubby wishes he could lock my computer up in the at 5/12. He has bo 5/12 Babble since the day I started playing. But his complaints do not bother me in the le 4/10. I am on4/4 his guilt trips&ignore them. I think that it's just a ri4/4 that he can be ad6/27ed to the Yankees, but I can't be ad 6/27ed to Babble. He can be such a sn 4/4 sometimes.I am not a pro yet, but I was a fa 4/7 learner when I started. Some words still hi4/6 from me and my monkeys have to find them for me or sometimes it just hi4/5 me and the words just appear. I have nothing le 4/7 to say.I hope this helps
hey there kb. whats up hottie
Hello mikecallahan27! How are you? Welcome to grid!
not to much you hot stud. just missing you
quite a work of art min, and you gave me a word Thanks!
Hello katie bear! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
thanks Minver, I advanced muchly.
yw
min-has your husband bo5/12 Babble, or bo5/16's it?
Oh yes, he has bo5/16 babble since day 1.My mistake
ugh, I am grid locked again. sigh
Okay-I thought I'd missed something. I am in fact missing 3 b's. I don't believe they exist.
Is your husband's name ... Caspar?
What other b words do you need Eva. I will clue them
(are you always missing sheets around the house min?)
Hello rururocks! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
HI min...
hey, ruru!
I don't have the list up right now. I have: ba4/7,be4/7,be5/14,bo5/16,bo4/6,bo5/16 ,bo5/14
No my husband's name is not Caspar. Call him a lot of different names. It depends on my mood at the time.
oooh
HI une.. new photo huh?
yes . . . in major mourning
I'm could also really use a cue for the set of dh's that aren't the Indian clothing.
what? why?
be6/36 word is be plus ho4/8 (what horses have) Eva
he LOST to Soderling!
I'm still in shock
really? wow!
bet he is too
dh5/14 is dh 6/24 minus a vowel and dh 6/24 is plural
apparently there were many whispers in the stands along the lines of "c'est historique, non?"
thanks min...is that somehow related to the more usual behoove?
yes it is
well eva.. that is what a cow would say to a friend
It be6's me to mosey on over and eat that grass..
lol
It could also be an ebonic/oakland cow...
I be6'ed
min-the i is the only thing I could take out of the dh6/24 and it won't accept that
d + not cold + vowell
I have that combo ruru-that's the indian clothing. I thought, when I looked at the list this morning, that there were 2 sets of dh words. Is that true?
yes.. d + owl sounds + vowell
TY ruru.
yw
Thanks ruru! That did it.
Good evening all1
