Thanks Ata for the indirect clue
Hi JC -- I reluctantly joined MySpace but haven't explored yet
I saw, Jilli - welcome! ;)
Hello, westford! :)
ok..jilli and j.c...i have to ask...why myspace and not facebook??
I'm in facebook -- JC has the answer
There are no blogs on Facebook, rolin - so it doesn't serve my purposes. I promote things and provide updates through blogs . . .
And the pages on Myspace are customisable . . .
Jill.. traitor lol

airt
dianne, I think it's e + a twitch
oops sorry about that
(another babblet)
how stupid of me - we have that word all the time. Thanks, jilli.
well, it was hiding ;)
It's another word that I would never have cause to use - only in Babbleland.
You mean you have no occasion to describe something as"pertaining to or being the raw data of a language or other area of behavior, without considering the data as significant units functioning within a system."?
duh - couldn't even say that back to you let alone remeber it !
such a little word for such a tangled meaning!
you got that right :)
blimey - its always the little ones
there are a few strange longer words here
I really should go to bed -- last call for clues...
jilli - top O - I have ok4/8 - what's the other one?

Hi all. FM do you want a clue for the ts?

Good morning
It's finally happened ... everyone went to bed and I'm the only one here ... lost in the hallways of the grid.
you are not all alone in Babbleland.
but the next shift is waking up to keep you company merk
good morning everyone
morning jacq
heya eva
Hi jac
hello dianne
I woke up too early and found myself alone. My chat showed a cap from 4:11 to 4:55 and I'm sure my internet connection was working. I should look at the log.
lol it maybe was dead
it does get like that sometimes, people just lose themselves in the grid
and hello Merk
Well, this one appears to one to get lost in. It goes nowhere.
that's where I was lost.
well i finished the e's *struts*
there weren't many so it's a small strut
Good for you.
clue for the bottom e plz
it sounds like the room at the top of the house, but single crossed consonant
et 4/5
et4
ty jac and dianne
and hello movie
I am busy in the barn with the bovine.
jac and dianne......sounds like a john mellencamp song
LOL
<<<< not american
I have ra x 3, ri x 5 and ro x 3 - anyone know what one I'm missing?
ok i am seriously stuck with 56 words down
this is harder than it first looks
Stepped out of the barn and out into the field to my scare****.
i have 3 ra, and 5 ri too, bit only 2 ro
ro 4 4 5 4
add a consonant to one of the ro4's at the end
hello BR
slap me with the fish! Thanks Babble. I've been doing that all day with this grid.
clue for the 8 plz
co8 - to team up with another author.
or it could be rituals for bovines
ty dianne
jac - I thought of that as well - sound interesting :)
very, lots of mooing and raising tails parhaps
don't forget the singular too
jerseys holsteins and brown swiss abound
hehehe ... you know how your mind has you read a word incorrectly the first time. With the co 7/8 combo I thought the bovine had a creed.
What does everyone think about Christopher Lee getting a knighthood? About time if you ask me
lol
i agree
and there 29 words that begin with or have a k in them
I have never thought about christopher lee
my family doctor was given an MBE, for his sevices to charity, he was an auschwitz survivor
this was years ago, sadly he's passed away now, but he was a real character
I was just in the barn and all of a sudden I'm to the 's' words. Wow.
Aw gee whiz ... back to the chores in the sty.
i had no idea co6/39 was a word
Merk - where do you teach in China and what do you teach?
I teach English in Harbin ... to English teachers.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO?
I'm home right now, going back there June 23 if the swine flu doesn't get me ... so many friends are being quarantined on their way back in.
Twice a year.
Merk, are the three ro 4s correctly called homophones?
Sorry for the caps - not shouting at you.
I thought you sounded overly excited.
would more roughage help?
Yes, I would say so.
We used to call them homonymns.
I've got a pun. I could say you are so 7,28, BR.
They just cloosed all the schools here for the next two weeks.
could be senor wences
Finished the s, onward and upward to the t.
There was a 44 minute cap from 4:11 to 4:55. I thought I was alone. Now we just had another long one. The grid does that to a person.
wtg Merk
You will be pleased to know that all the t words do begin with t
I am searching for a c5 - is there some really strange one?
mostly pl, perhaps one strange
could it be the a la ca***?
co 5,12 we've had before, but not often
got that one jac - thanks anyway:)
co 5 -- add a diva solo: a***
cr 5 -- weeps
good clue BR
Babblerabble - thank you so much. My last one listless - but not clueless. Anyone need any clues?
wtg Diane!!!!!!
congrats, Dianne
thank you, thank you.
wtg Dianne ... gives me hope
I don't remember seeing tha co5 word before. But then.......
And fireworks!
Final clue of the day for me ... several words end in the 'ies'.
congrats Merk.
ty ... I'm off to the zoo for Zippity Zoo Day with my three grandkids
See you in the morning perhaps.
bye have fun
If no clues needed I'll be off as well.
the ir5 plz
MM, I think Christopher Lee's knighthood is *fabulous*
ir + John Lennon's wife
Some (including me) may say it should have happened at least 20 years ago, but.....never mind
ty dianne
I agree. I think he's an absolutely amazing actor and an equally amazing man
heya Ata
He will always be Dracula to me
And Saraman, and Count Dooku
and the Lord of Summerisle
and hi :)
And Scaramanga
and hi to you ata
ooo forgotten about Scaramanga
and he knew Tolkien. makes him wonderful in my book!
And he was a distant cousin of Ian Fleming
really? cool!
Top o' the mornin to yiz all
hi soodle!
How are u after ur tumble yesterday Ata?
bloody sore!!
The bruises are probably only coming up now?
oh yes. my back and shoulders look really quite impressive!
I'm having a few hours doing stuff, few hours lying down, repeat schedule this weekend!
Focus on the positive Ata - it could have been a lot worse.
omg yes. much worse! I'm fine. just grumbly lol
Hey - you u have an excuse to grumble - grumble away. Most folk grumble without any real excuse. Enjoy your grumble-worthiness!! lol
oh I am lol :D Am making husband run round after me constantly :D
atta girl, Ata!!
and for once he's not grumbling about it!
except - hmmm. He's just announced he's going to London for the afternoon. I think the sympathy just ended!
give him a shopping list Ata, all the wee luxuries you fancy
Sympathy ..... a fleeting thing. Just as your begining to enjoy it, it skedaddles!
I just yelled downstairs that he better bring me back cookies and some sushi :D
am sorry you are sore, but you do need tro rest
I know ... and I'm the world's worst patient cos I hate being ill. But today even I acknowledge that I'm quite happy lazing in bed for most of the day!
good
do you have arnica?
yep :D
arnica is the best
smiles
and biscuits. yummy biscuits.
good morning all. Hope all is well with everyone. Can't find the ir 5 and ir 6. thx. Looked for clues, so probably right in front of me as usual :)
oh no, they are very odd
ir + Y*** Ono
You are right...I never would have gotten that! Wow thanks Atalante.
thank Hurshy from earlier on :)
Missed it as I checked the chat...what does that even mean? ...no definition listed. Can be rhetorical question. I'll keep searching. Off to a baby shower...have a great day.
noooooo idea!
oh. it's a hardwood. apparently
you mean hardword?
that too!
woks is not a word???? and that ir5 is? WTF!!!

co 6 6 7 7 8 4 all include a generic brown swiss jersey or holstein
flosey, your brownie recipe looks great - have taken note!
a2cowgear
thanks Trif, and they're so easy to make, using only one pot you can rinse out and use again for the icing
thanks BR, those are my last 5 words
there was a brilliant show on tv awhile back where people could submit inventions, and one woman's invention was a brownie pan that was a regular sort of rectangle size, but it was all snaked around itself. the point - her kids only liked the "edge" brownies, and this pan only made edge brownies. it was SO cool
woohoo flos!!!
congrats, flosey
you can buy it now trif
huzzah for flosey's fireworks!!!
serioulsy, kje? will have to look for that --online probably yes>
don't have them yet Trif, still working on them
everywhere, trif
oh dear - forgive preemptive huzzah....
look at any of the houseware stores like linen n things, bad bath beyond, even target i bet
OMG< I think the first bovine 6 might be my new favorite word, but I am giving it a new definition: n. when a person, usually female, acts in an offensive manner - "the co6 level was way high with that one."
lol, just got the first one!
5 to go
author collaboration (s)
oh, yes, BR, you will be given full credit, of course....
thanks BR
ack -= just got what you meant....no coffee yet
4
that was a clue trif - LOL
3
mooooooooooo flosey, mooooooooooo
good morning all
phantom: Dendrochronology: tree-ring dating
how can it be a phantom if there are no d's in the grid today? very, very ghostly!
morning boo!
I wonder how often tree-rings get asked out?
2
yep, already tried the tree-ring thingie
lol BR
yew are my love, willk you accept this tree-ring?
more often than me i bet
please, the tide wouldn't take me out
hehehe
funny trif - never heard that one
could it be worn on an (exposed) root - like a toe-ring?
oh no.... chris is joing BR in bad punland
oh, christine, my friend and I used to word play with "yew" all the time, trying to find different ways to phonetically say I love you.
my stomach is growling amazingly loud
we had things like: olive yew, aisle of view, all of yew, things like that.

a couple of days ago, I heard a whole thingaie playing on fish names ... cold for cod, halibut for hell of it, and so on. I quickly scibbled it, and next day threw away the paper. DO NOT LISTEN to your Mum ... if you clear your desk, you Will need that piece of scrap-paper.
If you have children (or for yew) get "Olive the Other Reindeer" ... as in the Rudolph song, of course
have that, christine. one of the sweetest books!
Bought it for DD, and she's no longer a littl'un (except to me).

I'll go over a couple days ahead of anticipated date

Wonder if Lord Holt was talking about Dick Cheney?

I am thinking that in 1702 Dick could not have even been imagined
hi ruru
the last big win was won by 13 secretaries in the same office building, they got 1.3 million each;)
I think in 2009 Dick Cheney couldn't be imagine either
if our ancestors could of looked ahead, they would not of had children
sheesh, all the ar6's are painfully similar
1.3 million sounds pretty good to me
after 9/11, cheney said we must be a nation of men and not of laws ... and so it was and so it is
well that would be hopeful joshua if I had an idea about them
you kidding br?? we are still so buried in red tape and legaleeze that things only get done at a snails pace
they are possibly related to operatic soprano solo
not kidding at all
funny BR but that very quote on the side of the dept of justice was part of what inspired me to become a lawyer--the quote that we should be a nation ruled by law and not the caprice of law
I read it during the Nixon administration

i was heading out from the wrong a
ooops *not the caprice of man

i see all those U.S lawyer commercials and there is one that blows me away.apreantly there is this drug that can save you from a horrible death, but in the process it has a chance of giving you diabetes.they are jumping all over this.personally id take my insulin and be happy to be alive;))
i envision all the fly-by night lawyers hanging around playgrounds, waiting for little timmy to fall of the swing and twist his knee,so he can sue the town for mom and dad...and the world becomes less than what it was;/

ty
wtg cherly for the job and Hi Dorens.

ty mitch
hi fmitch. and yes, cherly we often take things for granted until they get shaken up
thats for sure cherly!
It's all very well to have to be frugal and watch the expenditure but it can be very hard work!

How old is the child still at home?

ty fmitch
0_o
wow, who would of thunk
remember it :)
yiddish word, isn't it?
yep means trouble and suffering
Oh is it, that will be why it had me stumped then
learn something new every day with babble
don't we just!
doesn't trouble and suffering = husbands?
sometimes it can mean work related situations (i'm in the middle of one now)
lol Ata true but we dont' want to be accused of male bashing. Aparently there was a discussion abut that recently.
the good thing to remember about trouble and suffering is usually they are only temporary and often we are stronger for going through them
I can male bash today! Guess what husband said when I informed him that I'm very sorry but I can't do any housework right now cos of my arm?
he shaved his head even more?
hmmmm something along the line of it will wait until you can?
he didn't
husband: oh well, you can catch up when your arm is better
thanks husband!
and then he buggered off to London for the day!
i win the prize.
see? I can legitimately whine today :)
they learn it young, my son wanted me to do his laundry before he moved out
yes, ata you most certainly can!
or to make his sister do it
then he wont have to come do it that often (he said)
told him there was a laundry mat near his new apt.
Do we want to whine or wine? Canapes and wine are available in the PB
wine!
too early in the day over here for wine, but i'll have a canape
too early here really too, but hey
Well, you can whine if you want to. I'm feeling particularly triumphant today. I prevented a redundant apostrophe being painted up on a sign.
what exactly is a canape?
three cheers for haz
way to go haz
Haz the Heroine!
Thank you ,thank you.
Offers Dorens brnch canapes and the choice of tea, coffee or Hello Haz!!!!!!!!!!!!
And hello to all, by the way!
Grammar Hath Apostrophe Zealot!
coffee please and thank you fm, and hi haz
Haz!!! Hi there and hail well!
I was standing opposite a shop when I noticed that the signwriter had rendered 'Tattoos' with an apostrophe'. I crossed the road, gently pointed out that a plural doesn't need an apostrophe. 'What's a plural?' he asks...
how's La Chipolata?
So, I explained, he asked if I was sure and I assured him that I was sure. He thanked me and painted out the apostrophe. Triumph!
oh, lord, Haz - just walked in on your street Grammar Clinic - that's pretty bad
wonderful!!!
So much devastation for a Saturday Haz!
It's one less sign to make me groan, so it was kind of preventative.
good morning, babblers
Good morning JBV
hi jbv
hand painted signs are even excusable, because it's usually the fault of just one person, but when i see a commercially printed sign it's maddening to think how many people had to approve it
If only I could have caught up with the van that drove past - It was for an interior design firm that offered roller's and pelments, whatever THEY are.
You're right, JBV.
sometimes they put one in just to get your attention
LOL Haz, remember the vid on youtube that dc has in his bio!
I know, FM, I just can't help it. Mistakes leap out at me.
we had a popular one down here that was "gitter done", for a cell phone company when they started allowing you to keep your number
Of course, who else would pick up on these things!?
there's a village near here that has signs saying "Please drive Carefully through this village". It drives me up the wall
LOL! Oh ... that sign is hilarious, ata!
I dislike towns that use letters for street names. Signage on overpasses say something like, "A Street - 1 mile"
here's the worst sign I have ever seen (there are a few of them around here) and it has nothing to do with grammar: "Dangerous Intersection" - I always think, why don't they just fix it?
Very good point JBV!
My beloved pointed out he has often wondered about the popular yellow caution signs stating "SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY"
Time I got some dinner - so TTFN but will be back and lurking if clues needed.
we are lucky here.out town street names are all trees(birch, maple, elm ,pine etcgoing north to south and all numbers first to tenth goin east and west;)
yes, nice to them to tell us so we can aim better
lol ata
LOL - and what about the kids with learning disabilities? Do they want it advertised?
afternoon everyone
hi katie
hi katie
we even get warnings about elderly people over here
like those little signs in car windows (warning, baby on board) thanks for telling me,think ill use the other lane;)
ROFL cr***hair!
we have a ACTUAL turtle crossing on a side road on top of the hill some rare species..but it is very funny to see one big turtle and 7 baby turtles on this caution sign lol
we have duck crossing signs
I have seen signs here in western Washington announcing "FISH CROSSING" -- generally over bridges, of course, but ... ??!!!
and a huge dip with the sign put on the other side of the dip
id hate to get caught during a actual crossing...yea boss im 3 hours late...the turtle cro**ed:(
In New ENgland we saw a sign "DIPS - Do Not Cross When Flooded". Beloved said apparently it's okay for the rest of us to cross
lololol
hehe
my home town used to have an underpass and trucks would get stuck all the time
and our moose croxxing sign up north..makes one think.when i used to hunt, they generally ran between 900 and 1700 pounds..if they want to cro**,i wont argue
om goodness!
the sign showing the measurements got switched with our other underpass lol
Oh, that's terrible, but funny!
same with a buffalo crossing sign on a hwy here cross
now that would definatly stop traffic here ,a buffalo lol
they didnt figure it out till they tore down the underpass
dryer buzzed - bbl
ditto here!
we have a herd at our state park here, 2 yrs ago a calf was born, and people came from miles away to see that calf
talk about stopping traffic
awww
now when one is born they dont announce it, as the herd was distrubted, and took awhile to get them calmed down
and rebuild the fences lol
]
lol you can go see the moose calf if you wish..but you might make mom angry
don't want to make a moose angry, particularly a moose mom?
nasty business that..no fences
speaking of herds, just finished on a weird word... co6/39-- how old is that female?
Love those signs ... sometime ago, we saw one on the wall of a diner/dance hall ... 'food to take out' and below that 'dancing' (punctuation is mine).
and ata, your turn on lex
:)
My favorite waste-of-money sign is "Obey Warning Signs - State Law"
vpchat. see you next saturday?
by dorens
Dorens - have you sent me info on where/when?
I like the one on the package of meat ... remove this label before cooking ... it's on the outside of a wrapped package ... but then, there could be people whodo just chuck it in the oven, saucepan or microwave, and they do need to be warned. There is absolutely nothing else, written on the label, so ...
hi all!
and caution this item may be hot
"Do not use this hair dryer while in the shower"
yes!
yep, when you order coffee to go --- but thast's for the twits who must be reminded not to put the cup between their legs, while driving.
hi owl. -- vp, the email was returned
After an injury many years ago, I used a plastic thingy to strengthen my lungs. Three chambers with balls that measured the air, and a plastic vacuum-like tube. Label said "tube is for oral insertion only"
huh - try again? jgomoll@mac.com
hi doren

busy-ness of course
wtg nutter! power suit
electric power suit
yeppers...it screams "pick me pick me!!!"
i liek that jmc - 'electric power suit!'
uh evan as a person who hires people I feel I need to tell you it screams "run away!"
hmm....red got me the second interview
"run away" *running around the chog*
it compliments you hair and skin tone nutter
stop running around - you might fall
next you will be running with scissors
I don't have sharp objects like you do aknitter
i was born running with scissors, dr. ran away
is jmc running wid scissors?
no no just screaming "run away"
jmc is prejudiced against applicants who wear red
a big Monty Python fan
as in monty pythin ' run away'?
hahaha i thought so
could not hear any screaming i have my fingers in my e4. makes typing difficult
true evan but if I am not hiring for a santa then it is probably the right choice
i thought she was a mp fan not red predjee
do you type with your elbows?
snot all red, doing black pants
wow that is impressive akint!
2
how red is red evan?
go cherly
cherry red!
i admire women who can wear red - since i can;t
"run away"!!!!!!!
mustang red!
red suits on women say "I think I am a power player"
missing a k i have ke 4 ko 4x2 ko 5
maybe i should put this thing on, post a picture, take a babble poll
that's a good idea nutter
red on men says "real estate salesman"
red makes me feel confident
OK, I give up. Please a clue for the ir 5 and 6
so if it is eva and not evan red may be okay
ir + john lennons wife minus her Y
i'm taking a picture
*waiting patiently*

evanonut
ok, should be me
best to have the honest op, then i can consider the back up
rats I can't see the enlarged view. I need to reboot brb
it doesn't look cherry red...looks more peachy
its redder than it looks in the pic
its very red
verry cherry berry red
actually...hmmmm
ok - let me enlarge
cool, its nice eva
I still can't see the larger icon :-( I will try closing it all
i'm second guessing now
i enlarged it and it is not as red as i thought it would be.
i think i'm going to have to get a girl pow wow going here
you're going to have to trust me when i say the camera didn't pick up the red, i killed the flash so it wouldn't reflect in the mirror
prob so - i like it - i darkened it
let me post it and tell me if i made it dark enough
i should show my back up too?
ok - look at this
are you seeing you w/ my name?
yeah, its more like that
sorry had to completely reboot computer will look now
did i go too dark? or not dark enuf?
its very nearly correct ren
brb - gotta get the mezzer a pain pill - his surgery has been moved up to 6/22
hello all
what kind of surgery, ren?
argh I still can see the larger icon
could someone remind me how to clear my cache? *cannot see
ok....i gonna post the back up, then you'll see why i think i need to wear bright colors
Pretty snazzy there, nut!
okay eva I can see the picture on ren's icon is that you and the infamous suit?
peri - he is finally having his knee replaced 2 1/2 years after the jeep ran over him
ok changing back to me
wow, that is a long time, hope all goes well for him, ren
which of course means he's doing better!!!
good interview outfit chixy?
wow, Ren, I'm having surgery myself later this month; have a hernia that went all colorful. It has me fairly freaked out.
red is a power color!
with or without the hat?
what type of interview, nut?
wow chic! will be praying for you too!
that was my second question peri
promotion peri
good luck to you, nut, when is the interview
changing to show the back up
minus the hat, yes, nut.
gotta keep up, chic
changing to show the back up...tuesday peri
I vote for no hat, too
minus the hat I say it is good
ok waiting to see the back up...it's prob her pirate outfit
lol ren
ok, should be live, and its not a pirate outfit
eva I cannot see anything other than your icon with TO
lol, I thought she was going to show the back of the suit (I'm on meds)
remember i'm competing for one of multiple spots here, i need to be remembered, not fade into the wood work
gots to clean your cache jmc
how? I have forgotten
I like the red one better, nut
help help I wanna see too!
The red one suits you best...
i dunno jmc...i think mine purges on autopilot
thanks peri...see how dark colors kinda make me fade?
thanks chixie, i thought red would be to your liking
can you hit refresh jmc?
I look better in bright colors too altho I do wear black at times
:-(
want me to email you jmc?
ok, now that I gave my vote, back to Scramble
I refreshed and see the small icon and not the large
I refreshed and see the small icon and not the large
i like them both - the teal makes your hair redder - the red - compliments your skin
stupid
computer
gets rig of my cache all the TIME when I don't want it too
pls eva do you have my email?
i think i might need live feed back from people in person
jmc, go to tools, to internet options and then to browsing history to settings and then temporary files and delete them
nope, gimme jmc
prob so nutter.....and you know me - the queen of black
post the fotos on facebook and do a vote nutter
ha ha....i'll wear black with jeans
good idea, ren!
my kinda style
too many co-worker friends on facebook, whom i haven't told i have this interview because they'll be mad, they all applied too
evan I put it at the bottom of my profile eva
ok nutter - that's understandable
ok jmc...coming up
sent a test jmc, let me know i sent it right
time for some tang.....
okay got the test
waiting for them to attach...mmmmm tang
time for some gin!
co6,39?
bovine + years old
thanks
does you ice maker ever get constipated?
do all the co words start with bovine?
why do you ask ren?
i think mine is
Not all of them ..
just one of those things ya think about - constipated ice makers
hey torg!
Heyas kids ..
hi torg!
I cannot say I have ever thought of that ren
i think i have to stick with red, i'm forgettable in black
it's like bugs sit on flowers and make poo
eva is the promotion to a mangerial position?
bugs do sit on flowers and make poo
heck no jmc, couldn't pay me enough to manage
bugs poo everywhere, they have no decency
then go for the red . . . I take back everything I said except the part about not wearing the hat
YAY - !!!
unless you always we4 that hat and your hair falls out otherwise
no hat
I like the red also and agree about the hat
no hat, the hat is for fun
whew!
thanks guys
okay I earned my gin!
you've all been super helpful
brb
yes - the red w/ your beautiful hair and no hat
ha ha ha...red, hair, no hat, can i put the hat on when i get back in the car?
good luck on the interview!
yes Eva you can
yay!!!
i love my new hat
yes in the car you can we4 the hat
I like your hat too but not for an interview for work
i love the hat - i love hats
i call it my mobster hat, some bald guy at the fun park was complimenting me on it...i wonder if he's mafia?
so now that that is settled maybe i can get an answer to a question
go ahead Jmc
oh....that could be nutter
maybe, unless its a clue. i have no words
it's very 'B' girl, nut...
I only need 3
do all the co words begin with bovine?
go DR
nope- the first 3 do not
i think torg said no
ty DR
do you need clues?
i do dr
ok Ren... go ahead
how about the on w/ 8 letters?
i think i need to run to the store, bbiab
c u eva
ok nutter - i

Ren- the W only has 7 letters...
the only 8 is a co which is when a book has more than one author

i've only ever had a fig newton
ah I grew up with huge fig trees in my yard
but the figs leafs itch like all get out so I never could figure out how adam and eve could we4 them
fresh figs are wonderful though
figs are good, love kadota.
Hi everyone. This is a nasty grid today for me
so 7/28 pls
hi nef
HI NEF!
so + religious rituals
Hi lbd and jmc!
ty lbd
jmc, you said fig leaves itch? Interesting! I've never seen a fig tree
change last two letters to 2/3rd frozen water for the 7.32
they have huge leaves but they make you itch like crazy
we used to hate to pick figs because they were so itchy
prickly like rhubarb?
more like okra leaves
you think rhubarb is prickly lbd?
some rhubard is
the rhubarb leaves i've encountered were kinda prickly. or maybe it's i'm such a sensitive little dove. (roflmao)
okra is another plant I've never seen growing. Then again, it's one of the rare veggies I don't like
I can see you are sensative lbd
try it fried in cornmeal Nef
lots of people who think they don't like it like it when I fry it for them
not real fond of okra by itself, but a little in a stew isn't bad.
I will try to think up another leaf for you nef
I love pickled okra and fried and gumbo
our rhubarb is from DH's Grandmothers plant. We've moved it with us 4 times now; they always called it Strawberry rhubarb. My 2 year old neighbor comes over asking if he can have a stick all the time! :-)
you are a southern belle!
I am I am at least sixth generation
Mmm .. Rhubarb pie ..
my rhubarb has green stalks -- first time I saw that but it is just as good
we used to eat rhubarb raw as kids, kept us regular! lol
you should try my fried green tomatoes and Mississippi eggplant casserole
I've never seen okra in anything but a can or jambalaya
green stalks means the soil is missing something, can't remember what tho
I can go vegetarian in late summer with no problem
I have to grow it myself to get decent okra here in DC
oooh, fried green maters! eggplant cassarole sounds good too
mmmm, me too, jmc!
it is my great aunts recipe
i could too, as long as i had a side of cow for the hubz
I will post it on my profile later
well I do like my ribs!
I love fried green tomatoes. And DH makes a mean eggplant "hot dish" too!
brb
brb spilled gin
LOL!
hey I was getting up to get my recipe to make some Mississippi Eggplant Casserole for you :-P
That's alcohol abuse ..
I apologize to the gin torg
jmc, both you and lbd were running off at the same time. SOMETHING ought to spill when that happens
lol probably so nef
okay recipe is on my profile
thanks.
makes me hungry just thinking about it. My son hates! eggplant and loves this dish
mmm, when I used to drink (lo, these many years ago) my fave was Tanqueray OTR, twist of lime, squeeze it but DO NOT throw it in...mmmm...ahh, memories...
I didn't throw it rbud!
20
GO,go, jmc! I still have 53 left
21 ..
go torg!
GO, torg!
That recipe sounds good, jmc!
it is very and pretty easy to make
wo 5/18 pls

whoo hoo rbud!
hey nef....to a sausage maker its always thw wo...day of his life!

HAHA, thank you, Gwen! ;)
Hi there Stid
and hello to everyone else as well.
Pitchforks, you know - living out here on the farm. :P
HI stid! The grid is pretty nice today -- I needed the list to locate the last 20 or so -- a couple of really oddballs but not bad otherwise
although some of those forks are too curly to eat with LOL
hi mcurl
I wouldn't eat with pitchforks, Gwen! :P
hello mcurl! the kids have about one more week of school in the local districts... I start summer classes at the college the next week. *sigh* weekends are going to be the extent of my summer vacation this year.
Yayyyy for JC!!
My mouth isn't *THAT* big . . . :P
Thank you, GreyWoulf! :)
my school & kids are out as of Tuesday. I leave for vacation on the21st
so let me take a poll
Gosh, not much rest for you then, stidmama? :/
Will you get any break, at all?
the extent of my summer vacation, so to speak not couting my print shop job, will be spent recovering from surgery
should I take a cruise to Nova Scotia
hey stid

Alaska
hi dc
Seain! Fancy seeing you here . . . ;)
hello, jmc et al :)

oh dear... surgery? when? should I put you on my "list"?
What a surprise! :P
hi, rennie and jc and stid
and gwen!
Hi dcseain!
evening, grey
actually every time I have gone to Canada since 1978 I have been stopped by the Canadians at the border for as long as two hours
jmc, if you go to Alaska, and start or finish in Seattle, I will come up to meet you...
hello seain
sorry sitd, hubby is gone moving son from Florida to New Mexico and I must put dog out......
that would be nice -- my sister is lobbying for nova scotia because she has never been to canada and I am inclined to Alaska for the afore mentioned reason
it's okay mcurl! LOL I am having computer trouble here... BIG lag tonight.
co6,39 for the money, help!
Surgery schedule for july 14th. put me on any list that is for good stuff Please!
bovine years
what kind of surgery mcurl?
I will definitely have you on the list.

lol Iwish I knew what it was book!

6 times and counting
bummer mcurl
ty jmc, another good clue, and W I R E F O R K S for me, too
whoo hoo book!
you will be on my prayer list mcurl - chic is also having surgery as is my husband - so we have a lot of prayer fuel!
perhaps you just look shifty, jmc
I know many many people who have had that done, mcurl
it is at least not any relation to possible cancer which is a blessing; well come to think of it it's a blessing anyway!
mez -- AGAIN???? *sigh* when? I'll put double stars on that day...
it is probably that I don't eat my hamburger with a fork!
once i was in a store, and put my stuff on the counter to buy, and the guy says he has to check all my stuff to be sure I didn't switch things, and that i look like the picture of a shoplifter
how odd Book!
thanks ren
"the" picture. like there's only one shoplifter, and i'm it. jerk!
how odd, gwen
stid -doing the knee replacement finally after 2 1/2 years :0
well put book!
golly gee, gwen. I would have said he is welcome to look at all the stuff -- AS HE PUTS IT BACK -- and then I would have walked out.
right now I'm enjoying my quiet house with hubby away but looking forward to meeting up with them come the 21st in New Mexico
hell, i haven't shoplifted since 1978. Oops! LOL
well good. it's about time. give him my best, ren.
hahaha book!
I guess I would understand it for me if it had started after I first met with the US soldiers in Canada
i will stid!
Book! I am shocked
ren, I hope it goes great and will put him on my list as well.
stid, i was not clever enough to do that. however, there are other times when i've been rudely dealt with and left their crap on the counter and walked out. so there.
the vacation in NM will be fun, I hope it will be good weather for you!
good for you Book
I'm sure it will be HOT for sure.
can i please get a clue for the ir5 and the ir6 plz?
nm sounds fun!
that's true, hot -- and dry. BUT it will be a change, either way.
okie doke I finished my scrambled eggs and chard so I am heading to bed and my Easy Rawlings book

the other day at the craft store there were only a couple people working. I got up to the front to find only one cashier with a return, a couple in line in front of me with a small child -- and apparently only one other person in the store.
When I asked if there was another cashier who could be called up (I was using crutches -- bad hip day) she very curtly said "no" and walked past me in huff. I almost set everything down, but really needed those items right then.
almost halfway... need one more tile for NBT
i everyone, I've been working bit by bit today on the puzzle, but now I need help. Anyone able to clue the 1st and 3rd ko4?
there. NBT. now for a few more words... *fingers itching for list*(
hello quail!
stid - wr5 a letter or send ane-mail to the store - that's what i do - cuz i'm not a rude person and i don;t think peeps should be rude to me
Hi stidmama.
I think I will, ren. I know times are tough, but managers need to know that it is NEVER okay to be rude to customers. Especially the ones who are already in line to spend money!
economy is to tight for merchants to be rude to ' customers'
GMTA!
I had a similar experience at the local Friendly's restaurant recently -- the family plus a friend decided to go out for dinner there. We knew there would be a wait, so weren't surprised to be told that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. Though I was a bit skeptical as there were about 15 other people in the waiting area
*waiting for punch line*
down to 60, getting list.
About 45 minutes later, the girl acting as greeter calls the group that came in after us and acted surprised when I became a bit outraged that she didn't even acknowledge me
WOW. that's SO uncool!
She then disappeared to help another waitress, so I asked one of the servers who had just cashed out a customer if the manager was available
good for you, Woulf.
AR 6 the second please?
similar to first change last vowel
turns out she has to leave the store to get change! However, the server I talked to immediately took control, told the greeter that she would take us in her section and defused what was about to be a very ugly situation
thanks mcurl
got them! As axed!
I hope that server gets a bonus!
whoo hoo stid
I have since sent a complaint to Friendly's corporate headquarters about the poor management, but the server who helped us earned a 25% tip from me for proving that someone still understands customer service
((Woulf)) good for you.
that's nice that you evenjtually found someone who had a good business head wolf
i'm having trouble with the cows. anyone have a clue for co8,65?
That is a co, not a cow . . . someone who assists in authoring, does that, quail. :)
second CO 5 please?
Co + Spanish river, fem., stidmama . . .
thanks, J.C.
thanks JC
The ones that are causing me soooo much trouble now are so7, 28 and so7, 32. Is someone able to be SO helpful?
You are both very welcome . . . :)
OK . . . so7,28 = so + ceremonies, and so7,32 = so + arth***** (pain).
hello and agood evening friends! I am crosseyed trying to find the IR5/18, 6/30...can anyone help?
hey saanich!
Hello Stid, how's the plague at you place? (just kidding, must be a terrible worry.)
Hello, saanichcat . . . ir + Sud***, the other puzzle. ;) And pluralise it . . .
Oh sorry, no - that ends in a u. :(
plague???? have I missed something?
God, I am overtired . . . :( OK - that, but change the last vowel, to the same as the first one.
I hope that's not too confusing . . . :/
OH JC THANK YOu. That was a real light show!
of course you're tired, JC... look at the CLOCK! *sigh* (some men never learn)
ar6.18 the third one or maybe the second one any clues?
YAY saanich!
so 7? either ?
Stid, I was thinking of your son with the affected ear, how is he/
Yes, yes - I know, stidmama. :P
I got in very late . . . needed to unwind from the night.
he is better, saanich -- we are sometimes lucky that the one who gets the most infections is the one that doesn't feel pain. Though it also means that by the time he feels the infection it is usually pretty advanced... *sigh*
SO plus rituals (plural only)
Those were great clues, J.C.
So, I thought I might as well try and finish the puzzle I had started yesterday morning, for a change! I haven't often had time to actually finish them, lately.
thanks saanich!
LIfe and career get in the way of Babble too often, damn it! :P
Glad they helped, quail . . .
that's a good idea, JC. I also use babble to unwind.
Yes, it's good for that, stid - this or word games on Yahoo, such as Word Racer or Literati.
Actually, Word Racer is similar to this . . .
I use babble to test my mental acuity in the morning. That will determine if I have a physically or mentally day.
that's interesting, saanich -- I used to use "text twist" on Yahoo the same way!
sorry about the (lack of) grammar
how about the second so 7?
down to 12
what is text twist?
it's a game with scrambled letters and you find as many words as you can from just those letters.
Like enable's dictionary, sometimes there are nonsense words, but more often I am frustrated that real words don't count
SO plus arth**** (to describe someone with a bone disease)
AHA! thanks saanich!
and firewords!!!!
Congrats, stidmama!!! :)
Oh, that sounds like fun - Text Twist?
It is a multiplayer game?
You are welcome! I have to go and water parched plants. Have a great evening everyone... and Congrats Stid!
later saanich! have a lovely day tomorrow!
no JC, solo game
babble is the first game I played with other players that I stayed with. Other "communities" have peculiar and nasty people on them.
i hate all these so's
there were some stinky so words today katie
Oh, I see . . .
Yes, stid - unfortunately, that can be the case. :(
JC -- did you locate me on myspace?
Did I, stidmama? I'm not sure . . .
I just did the invitations from my Gmail address book.
Did you receive one?
I'm searching for you on there now . . .
if so, I will accept the contact, otherwise not. I am rarely there, and just to check on particular friends who are not on facebook.
OK, I found you - but it says I've already sent you an invitation, stid.
that's how i use myspace, too stid
So if you check your Gmail, it's probably there?
okay, then I will go ahead and accept it. but I won't be logged in very often. just so you know.
Yes, I am going to be posting blogs, with all my latest updates in them - that's what I'll be using Myspace for, mainly. I don't have time for much else! :P
I'm not either - I'll be away all this coming autumn, and very busy over the winter.
I'm also fairly busy now, and for the rest of the summer - which is why I'm not on here very much.
You may find my page on there amusing, anyway . . .
okie dokie JC. Why away autumn and winter?
anyone need clues? now that I have all the answers...
co6.39, pls?
A bovine's chronological status, Seain?
found it!
And I'll be on a tour this autumn, stid - and doing pantos in the winter, of course. Prancing around all ponced up as Dandini again. :P
go seain go!
good clue, JC, I was still working on mine...
we7,44?
You'll see the costume for that, on my Myspace page . . .
Glad it helped, stid! ;)
in that silly PINK tri-corn hat? rofl... at least it highlights your eyes...
we 7 is "becomes tired" start with the we 4 and end with the last three letters of the first co 7
It is indeed, stidmama . . . :P
what is the difference between "panto" and just a comedy play?
it would be fun to see a live performance. They look like such fun when they are recorded.
thanks
Not a lot, stid - except that they are traditional children's stories, usually - like Cinderella, as you see there (Dandini is Prince Charming's right-hand man).
okay, I like children's stories. They're at my level. :-P
Well, I will be posting video clips from some of ours, in yi Myspace blogs - whenever I get around to blogging there! ;)
HAHAHA . . .
that will be fun, JC
Mine too - of course, a lot of the humour is also aimed at the adults, as we can't have the parents bored now, can we? ;)
so, I am going to go finish making the gifts for my students from the 6th grade class... little notebooks and pencils with fancy tags.
For instance, in Cinderella, I play a very flamboyantly gay, campy Dandini - well what do you want, with THAT getup? :P HAHAHA . . . and, it's simply what I am. ;)
The humour of it is probably lost on the younger children, but it makes the older ones and the adults laugh! :)
do you know the brilliant kids actually made me win a bet with their teacher? i bet her, in front of them, that they were completely capable of finishing one last MAJOR task before the 5th graders visit the classroom this next week... a brochure on how to be a 6th grader. I said if they managed to have the brochures ready in time to hand them out to the 5th graders, I would throw a party for them.
So of course, they DID it. and now I have to buy icecream for them on Monday...
Ooh, good!!! :)
Coconut milk ice-cream? ;)
Yes, I think it is good humor, JC and all in good fun. I am glad there are things like that available for families.
It's very delicious . . .
Yes . . .
Actually, I am thinking of fruit popsicles. More refreshing in the hot weather we are having.
I LOVE coconut milk ice cream. Much creamer than the soy-based ones, though not as many flavor options.
anyone have a clue for co 6,39 please??
so. I am off to write little messages on teeny cards and tie the cards on the notebooks with raffia.
co 6/39: bovine + years alive
we make chocolate, mint, banana, vailla, rose, and other flavors of coconut milk ice cream
((hugs everyone)) have a lovely weekend! see you-all again soon!!! *poof*
Awww, you too stidmama! *HUGS!*
thanks stid!
Yes, that's obviously the only sort of ice-cream we have, Seain - that made from coconut milk. It's excellent! :)
We use soy milk in tea and coffee, though - if you steam the soy milk first, it doesn't curdle in coffee, and vanilla soy is very tasty in it. :)
steamed soy milk is one's friend with hot drinks, i agree
Hi again. I have 36 words left. I want to finish tonight (fell asleep last night at the computer trying to finish)
hi, nef
how are you tonight DCeain?
alright, and you?
maybe my inability to finish is related to my mispellings? I'm fine, just bummed about losing a new camera
Awww, sorry to hear that, Nef - what hard luck. :( That would bum anyone out . . .
oh, how awful, nef
I got it for my b'day last month and I had all the new grandson's pics on the memory card. That is what makes it even worse

Go Kate!
Ooh, congrats, Seain!!! :)
YAY dc! WTG!!!
wicked tired!!! I took Tertiare and my two little nephews to the zoo today, then went out to see Urinetown at the high school tonight. snoooze
congrats DC!!!
I don't do myspace, JC....
Hmmm, you are on there, Trif . . .
And that's a shame, as I've got a personal page on there now and will soon have another pro one also, and will post video clips in the blogs, etc.
Oh well . . .
Oh, Seain - you'll find Jilli and Stidmama in my list on there now, if you want to add them . . .
any hints for the wo4,12. either of them lol
Oh, and MonkeyGames, also . . .
?
katie, one is a cooking pan, one is pt of when the alarm goes off
thank you so much
I'm stuck in the "C's"
for the co's, only the first three don't start with bovine
thanks
np
um, do you have the first wr5,18?
or the last wo5
yep
cuz i can't get them
Sorry, I'm having trouble cluing right now
that's fine lol
last wo 5 is not the best
thanks. can't believe i didn't get that one lol
the wo is the wo** day of your life; the wr*** rhymes with the cr***
first wr 5 rhymes with the cr 5
thanks ruru. My mind is fried tonight
thank you
olivwe or canola oil fried?
olive that is
canola (it's easeir to spell tonight
I hear ya
there are days when I could say my bad spelling was due to booze or bad behavior. this is one of them.
ohh..party on dude
hi all :)
hi mrp. How are you these days?
boozed up and bad behaviour hey??
hi nef :) just woke up after a huge night
ruru; I didn't realize that I said exactly the opposite of what I meant there til I reread it just now. I am NOT into booze or drugs; I just can't spell tonight and I should have an excuse for how bad I'm doing!
my night is sober and slow. What was your huge night mrp?
We had lickety's guy friends over... need I say more?
Oh My! Sounds like it might be fun though! :)
it certainly was!! One of the guys is like a brother to me, the other is a best friend, and another still is learning that I don't shift my sleeping habits
how many were there in all? Of course,3 could be more than enough
4 in all, and most behaved like gentlemen! LOL
that's good. Does that mean they didn't disturb the younger set?
the kids were well and truly out of the hub of the little party (that ended 5.30am!). We have 3 rooms dedicated to children to have just as good a time, without seeing, drinking and cigarettes.
I hate going to a party and seeing people drink and smoke infront of kids.
*without seeing drinking and cigarettes - my error
me too! now-a-days, we rarely see anyone smoke here in MN
at least not inside
Hi! Which of the 4 guys blamed it on the women when the Castlmaine 4Xoverloaded Ute's back axle collapsed when one small carton of Babycham was added? LOL
too right nef... laws have changed, and we have rules at our house
huh? Jacula, you lost me.
Old advert, Nef.
takes the pee out of Aussie men.
aussie men are unto there own!! There is no man on the planet like a yobbo!
Mind you, I know 'the little woman at home' has been depicted in ads forever, but I'm beginning to think it isn't fair the way men are pilloried now and that seems to be 'okay'.
okay, I'll believe it then because you say so
British men have their own code of 'what youa re seen to do and say in front of other men', so do Aussies and so do, I bet, most other nations.
I don't know any Aussie men -other than lickety, that is
If their codes of conduct held all the time, no one would marry them or have kids with them!
very true, Jacula
well jac, there are plenty of them here... single and childless, because they ARE bad habit boys that won't learn to behave
my hubby used to go on fishing trips with his buddies. He'd come home with a hangover and no fish.
nef, that is funny!! Lickety went on a fishing trip and I don't believe for a second he saw water! LOL
Plenty of Bourbon... but no water
Oh MrP! Surely there must be some sensitive Aussie blokes?
LOL! Well the ice fishing trips were the worst. He'd have such terrible gas for 2-3 days afterwards; lots of card-playing, lots of drinking; lots of hearty food made with beans
indeed there are jac!
Men drink, fart and snore, and disappear at times. If we do that, they find a more compliant model.
MrP - I hope Lickety is one of them? (The sensitive kind, that is, not the drink, fart, snore, bugger off kind.)
I am sure we all do those, but we do it more subtle like!
He is a SNAG!
firworks, finally!
Well of course, MrP. Just as horses sweat, men perspire whilst ladies merely glow. (I sure glow when having a hot flush!)
(And I hope SNAG is a GOOD thing!)
Well done on fireworks, Nef.
ty, Jac
SNAG = sensative, new age guy
What's a snag, MrP.
yay nef!
Sensitive Nerd Aussie Guy?
OH! I LIKE that; SNAG! Good term!
ty, mrp
Oh, New Age! LOL.
I prefer my nerd version. That means he can assist if your computer crashes or does things you don't understand.
Mind you, I have to rely on my son for the compute r stuff. Central heating stuff etc., house stuff, is Beloved's department. Won't tell either I've got quite au fait with all of that in the 12 or 14 years since I was divorced. LOL. Why make more work for ourself?
I think I better drag myself to bed rather than waiting for the flip. Good night all; see you later!
'Night Nef.
night Jac. <poof!>
nite nef!
It's 5.43am here in UK and I've been upall night. Mind you, that was making tea for Beloved who was painting his daughter's new room here until about 3am.
Then I opened a bottle of wine and went off to update my long neglected blog.
good girl jac!
And now I'm here. It doesn't really matter if I take 8 hours sleep and don't wake up until 1pm because my only task tomorrow is to make a roast beef dinner for 6pm. Belloved will still be painting, 'Stedaughter' will be making him tea and I'll get to do more gardening in between the cooking and ironing if it isn't raining. No, that's not a complaint, that's me sayiing it's a good day!
Good morning ladies and gentlemen
I woke at 2pm... had 2 tablets, babble....
ah, Babble - insomniac's solution :)
When you reach 52 years of age and begin to think you can sit back, please yourself and wait for the grandchildren (who can be read to in smalll doses) to arrive, you don't expect to be landed with a 14-year-old full-time. But Ihave been, so there it is, and we get on with it.
hi kath :)
Hi Kath.
How's my fellow southern hemisphere-ite, MrP?
Hi Jac
oops, not a good thing to say in THIS country!! lol
?? Kath?
am doing good kath! and you?
Jacula, sorry - I'm in South Africa .. too many hijacks around
MrP, I'm also good thanks ... chilly weather suits me
it has been really cold here!
Oh, LOL, I see Kath. Well, I did used to say to the people that greeted me with 'Hi Jac', 'Never say that to me on a plane!'
LOL jac!
Hello all
You too? My only complaint is that we've had rain, and this is supposed to be a summer rainfall area. Makes things a bit clammy, lol
lol @ Jacula
Jilli! :)
Hello jilli
We've been having glorious weather lately -- make up for the horrible winter we had.
Just up for a bit again, so thought I'd see the flip . . .
.. and JC
Ithas ben really warm here today. But who knows wht tomorrow will bring. So long as no one goes 'ATCHOO! OINK!' Swine 'Flue has now been declared to be a pandemic, being in 70 countries.
Hi JC -- I went back to the chog for earlier and noticed you talking about soy milk. I need some advice and will email you.
Excellent icon and write-up Jilli
Amazing ... a few cases of swine flu and everyone wears a mask ... millions of AIDS victims and still people don't want to wear condoms
Oh, OK Jilli - no problem. :)
I haven't seen anyone wearing a mask here... yet.
clue for the 8?
Hi Jilli.
Thanks flosey! I meant to say I enjoyed your Pieta but didn't have a chance last night -- you vanished so fat!
We use soy, rice, almond and coconut milk products . . .
south africa is just a mess from AIDS...
Kath- that's a god point.
Not just South Africa, MrP
*good
Ebola ever is very very scarey.
Jacula - I haven't seen anyone wearing a condom, either lol
Let's hope we don't all get that.
thanks jilli, and we're all grateful for the fast action of all concerned with the fire all too close to home!
Oh well, JC -- this is about a recipe I have for a vegetarian asparagus-orange bisque, which uses cream and needs heating. Stid can't have anything from a cow and I'd like to either give her the recipe or make some when she comes. I gather soy milk curdles when heated????? Please advise :)
Kath - LOL! i have a vision of you inspecting men passing by...'Drop your trousers!' 'Why?' 'I want to see if you are wearing a condom.'
lmao
Oh I see, Jilli - well I make cream of mushroom soup, using soy milk and flour . . .
Erm - and how many of us would be wearing one as a matter of course, under our clothing, Jacula? :P
I'm not in the league that would see a man wearing a condom anyway, hehe
And no, Jill - soy milk doesn't curdle merely when heated, but it can curdle in coffee, for some reason. It doesn't in tea, and not in all coffees I've tried it in!
Oh thanks, JC, that's a relief. Would you like the recipe? It's yummy
Can someone tell the invntors of veggie meals that some vegetarians are allergic to soya and to beans, and also don't like nuts?
what no flip?
You could try Rice Dream milk Jilli
no flip yet.
Oh yea, it's late, bleugirl.
Jacula> Same as those who need to follow a low-GI diet .. my daughter can't have the high fibre bread because her ulcer complains.
That's why there are also rice, almond and cocnut milk products, Jacula . . .
... and we're both allergic to coconut, lol
i thought it flipped at midnight central
Sure, Jilli - you can e-mail it to me, if you like? Thank you! :)
OK - well rice and almond - or just rice milk? :P
I gave up long ago and just eat whatever I like, other than dessicated coconut - that's too dangerous, I prefer to breathe
Now this IS multitasking, I'm sure of it - how many threads of conversation am I in, simultaneously? :P
any clue for the 8?????
I thought it was just a plaited conversation? hehe
Erm, yes Kathihle - breathing is always priority!
co + author mkg
The co 8?
mkg - put a hyphen after the first two letters
To assist in authoring . . .
<< Author!
