hi, jilli, this has been our prettiest summer in memory (Cleveland OH) - lots of nights in the 50s, sunny 70-ish days. actually made it up to 85 today, and my AC was on for the 1st time in weeks. One downside - tomatoes are not flourishing. otoh, lettuces are.

HEY MELON- HOW IS YOUR GARDEN THIS YEAR?? we have had lots of lettuce and radishes and banana peppeers and 1 green pepper so far
also 4 cherry tomatoes- tomatoes are loaded this year- may have to can them or sun-dry them
http://tinyurl.com/mmzvd
is that the song jilli?
we have 4 jalapeno plants in huge pots on the patio, they are filled up with peppers, and two huge tomato plants that are going full blast, too, yay!
howdy all
An American Elegy was composed by Frank Ticheli...when I heard it he was conducting the Azusa Pacific College orchestra...I hosted the solo trumpet player and another trumpeter afterward on their cross country tour...it was especially moving piece and the kids were great....
If jac an opthers can inflict horrendous "music" on us, I feel free to introduce real poetry to those who missed it
feast or famine here with the grid sizes :)
hiya, Dee!
hi volley
west, it's not a bldy SONG
hugs dart, rbud, jili, pav...
Hi Dee

yikes I only asked because pav was going to look up the composer of a song
I'll be back later
sorry, west
*mutter* too bad he4ac4 is only a phantom, I think this grid is going to be a big one, lol!
I got upset because there's more interest in a recent song about a sad incident in the USA than in a classic poem of universal scope.
whoa. I picked the wrong day for a late flip
hi, freep! plenty of words to go around, lol
hi all, have en9x2 and le9x2.. anyone know what the other 9 starts with?

Jilli, I've not heard nor read that before...it does sound like an English class selection and heaven forbid not many would be able to grasp the images written within..
more's the pity...
flosey, was about to use your last word (li4) to point out that some of the 8's & 9's end like that or its pl

ty josh
I have a ce8
or 7, too
A 344 word grid is just too long for me to have a hope of finishing in the free time I have available. If it is also tricky I will end up demoralised. I'm getting quite used to the feeling. Yet I do love to Babble!
an ar 7 x 2
Pat - You and me both! Specially after yesterdays nice, manageable grid.
ty, josh and gladys
and ce 7
does that bring us to 9 8's?
Hi Soodlebum. I was going to walk away but I've started. I'm doomed to Babbledom for ever. I HOPE!
Me 2!! I am guiltily watching the clock....
that's what I have noted down, Dee

ch 7, 8, 9 extend from ch 5/14... patient's clipboard/ paperwork ... act of making notest; one who does so and its plural
The ch8 builds on the ch5/14
k, I am poofing now; hugs to all; I think most of the info is in the chat if you scan back
hugs to alll *poof*
Sally the ch8 does it bulid off the not honest ch5 or rib area ch5?.
Neither, it builds off a word for a map or diagram
thanks *looking*
Start by going north east!
Ahh, got it ..thank you :-)
ty
GL7 moist surface reflecting light
you can get the GL8 from that too.
hello all, found a ch7 but not the 8 or 9
can someone tell me what the 9's start with pls
ch peri..got it earlier when volly clued it at 5:40 just below
saw the clue but not getting it
you will get it no problems
ok..you put against a wall ch*** to see how tall they have grown + have you got your shopping **** to see what you need
peri, start with the ch 5/14 which means a diagram. Then the ch 7/40 is the pt of someone who makes such, then the ch 8/50 sounds like someone who makes such, (but isn't in fact), then the plural for the 9.
you put your child*
got them now, was trying to make the words with a L in the middle, thanks
si8.50 & 9.72. Mrs Fawlty Towers is not early

No, Lynn, not so far.
grrrrrrrr
no lynn. and i`m struggling with 252 to go..hahaha
lots of mini lists in chat
Volley did a good job of compiling lists of individual letters, you'll find them if you scroll back. I don't think anyone has compiled a complete list in one place. We'll have to work for our points!
I have 131 to find, but I've enjoyed it so far.
Yes, it's a reasonable grid, we've seen a lot worse.
i had better go...going to see the new harry potter film today, although not happy that it is not showing in3D on the isle of wight :-(
morning, all
I hope you enjoy it anyway, zooz.
bye Zooz, have fun

The same ending as the ch8.

Haz to the rescue...thanks so much
and lynxxxxie
I put a list in my profile .. haven't proofed for errs yet
I suppose if you think of the type of poem or lament as written by Grey in a country churchyard, make it the one who writes and the action of writing, if that makes sense.
morning BabRab
Good morning BR. You've been industrious.
I had the el from your earlier clue but i like this one better, Haz
Hi BR, great icon
You're welcome, Annie.
Hah. That bi5,18 makes me think of Black Books. "Bi***! Child poison!"
{{{Uni}}}
Good morning Uni!
hi Uni
Good afternoon to Haz! It's 2:30 for you? And good morning Annie! It's early for us.
yes, 8:30 am here
It's almost 1.30 pm, I'll need to think about making lunch soon.
*trying to figure out time of night for Lynxxx
*zzzzzzzzzzz*
Uni, is the list in my profile? :p
wake up, judi
Wake up Judi. There's a grid to do.
10.30 pm Uni
Ah, I am 9:30. I have already finished a book today (to be fair, it was only the last 70 pages) and am now daunted by the prospect of babble.
*zzzzz...coffee...zzzzz*
Hi Lori
Mais oui, a list in your profile. Did bi5 make YOU think of black Books?
hi Lori
Recieved !! Thank you Haz.
Haz, Lori, Uni, Annie, Lynxx wow hello to all babblers!
Good morning, everyone.
morning FM
Hi FM!!!!
Hello lady FM
Great! Apologies again for taking so long to reply but good to see you here, Karys.
she's awake! hi Judi
Hello FM! Nice to see you.
The e-mail skills of babblers can be a bit lax.
so many friendly faces all at the same time!
It was an effort, but I knew the grid was calling me.
FM! ***I <3 Black Books***
*Puts on a dour face*
Oh good. Judi's speaking in sentences now.
I'd better get some food, BBL perhaps
***applies snarly faced, tantrum-ish child look***
later, lynxxxie
Silly me. Was I talking in my sleep again?
Get that dour face off right now, Uni. It doesn't suit you.
No tantrums here, Lori. We've all got to smile nicely, we've got a nice big grid today!
Bye Lynx!
Look at Lori. I am only copying my mother.
Bye Lynxxx!
Hi fellow babblers!
You were talking, Judi, not making much sense, but you're all better now.
We? Not me, I'm done. It's no longer my problem, er I eman grid.
Nice big grid today, as compared to yesterday!
You must have been working like fury behind the scenes, Lori. No complaints or anything.
Hello beach.
hi beach
Once a year I decide to not complain. today was the day, so revel in the moment.
That is because there are no re words. She must have been pleasant for once.
hi all
A red letter day. No complaints from Lori. I will mark it in the calendar. Does it fall on the same day every year or must we wait for the mood to strike?
Hello Boo.
Good Morning Babblers :)
It's a mood thing Haz, all very random. Once a year, just hard to say what day though.
Good morning Nono!
Hi boo and Nono
Good morning Nono.
when I saw this grid, I felt like yesterday's grid kind of exploded into this one.
Well, glad that today is the day.
Mornin' Boo, Nono
true Angel but this one seems a bit friendlier with a good mix of letters
need something from the top i for NBT
ah found one
bird and plural, nono
that is the one i found Annie thanks
If there isn't a list posted yet (somewhere, anywhere) somebody who remembers their Bab Anon login (unlike me) can copy it from my profile and throw it in. I feel like whackin' some zombies in a game that Uni forced me to become addicted to.
nono, an insertion
Thanks Lori for the list I'll see if i can post it at bab anon
thanks annie
wtg Lori and thanks for the list!
You mean you'd rather whack zombies than knuckle down to housework?
House what?
It's shockingly fun...
Hi does anyone know if there is alist posted today on Babblers Anon since there is no Licketty.
Don't you dare try to convert any more of us, Uni.
there goes Haz speaking on tounges again!
Hey, I introduced her to babble - that didn't work out too badly
It's a therapeutic game. Makes me forget all about the h word I'm not doing.
sandie, Lori has one in her profile that I think Nono is throwing in babanon.
Well, that's true, but you've got to be discriminating in your addictions.
Oh thanks for that. I'll have a look.
list posted to Bab Anon now
My older daughter does this farming thing in facebook. And a virtual restaurant. We're so proud.
She should consider real farming. It's tiring but fun.
uh oh... I am hooked on Farmville... lol
Thanks Nono, I have nary a clue what my login is. lol
create a new one Lori
lori, is there no way to get it reset?
I have it written somewhere. Just haven't found where yet. ***makes a note to look for that notebook***
Perhaps you made that note in the right notebook?
Okay, lunch time. Back later.
bye Haz enjoy your lunch
Later, Haz.
I think it's in the otehr desk Uni. Too far to walk to... Laters Haz!
enjoy lunch, Haz
I'm off too, those zombies don't whack themselves. Have a great day all!
Bye Haz!

i'm sure I'll be using it later

positive thoughts and prayers from me too JBV - sorry have not been aware of much else than our own little world but great improvements here

I have more nines than eights, this seems unusual.
Brooklyn Cyclones...great new little park in ConeyIsland
this figures-yesterday when I had all the time in the world there were 39 words -- today when I have to catch a plane and go to a meeting there are 344

My husband has declared me to be a very boring driver. He invariably falls asleep when I'm at the wheel.
which tribe, car? the Mohawk, the Oneida, the Onondaga, the Cayuga, the Se**** or the Tuscarora?
try not to hit anyone with your car -- that's my basic advise TO
Of course, he falls asleep if he sits anywhere for five minutes (except for eating) so it doesn't mean much.
Wish I could remember BR!
I fall asleep when my son's at the wheel so I don't have to watch!
Trif will know...we will ask her when she pops in!

oh here we go again with the thuner and lightening back in a bit
thunder even!
See you later.
Ooh...bottom row N and corner E grayed out!
Keep going!
Once again, the E's are keeping me from NBT...I really don't do well with vowels!
Ditto, car.ee. Vowels suck.
I just really have trouble with them...now it is my goal everyday to defeat the vowels!
car there is a slimey snake like fish
eg4 an exclamation.... eg** this grid is huge
a british title ea4

I'll see you again. Tell Chris that Newcastle still has no manager or owner, so if he fancies his chances?...
hah, if the price were right...
You guys are awesome...but none of those came from the 2 BT I have left! Figures!
Off we go - that's all you'd need, a failing football team and an expectant fan base!
Ty for the ec clue, Haz.
en8 and en9 - en plus a product made from grass to feed to cattle in the winter.
You're welcome, Judi.
corn
it would make QUITE the bday gift! which reminds me, ive got 2 months to come up with a good one. :)
Made from grass? Weed?
2 months should give you plenty of time for inspiration.
haz... can you tell me what the product made from grass starts with?
for us city folks?
We make it over here from grass.... first three letters of a metal (not gold) plus how old you are.
ah... ok... never would have known that one, LOL.
New word for me! TY Haz!
new words for me -- thanks haz!
Relative to the si4/7, mom. Tall cylindrical farm structure used for storage of grain...
Who says that babble isn't educational? Over here, the young farmers clubs have competitions in judging the quality of the stuff.
thanks Judi... had that one... but not Haz's si word, LOL!
Like I said, city folk!
Curious, Haz. I should think the cows would be the better judges.
Farmers here no longer make hay while the sun shines. It's progress, I suppose.
Okay, off I go - have a good day!
phantom: bistro
bye Haz...
Oh, car... I know... it has been driving me nuts since I started, LOL!
bye Haz.
Bye!
Still one E BT though....

can anyone clue me ta6/21 plz?
pretty good TO, except now I have a separated shoulder!
si24?
don't have the ta, sorry
how did that happen??? I thought they fixed it
or was that someone el4
si 6/24 - start of where you store grain + how many years old you are
is this the same shoulder you had work on earlier this year, nrkii?
in September I fell on my shoulder and ended up with a torn rotator cuff -- they told me then that the injury was odd for a fall... two weeks ago I was out raking and the next day ended up with a separated shoulder -- they told me THAT was consistent with a fall!
same shoulder
different injury
I'm going for more PT, and then seeing my surgeon in 4 weeks, at which point he has a lot of "splainin to do"
bummer big time!!!!!
shoulders are the worst... mine bug me all the time,... I feel your pain
I'm just mystified how this happened from raking... from what I've read, this injury is what hockey and football players get when they have big impact directly on their shoulders (which is what I had in September, but not recently)
is en 9 related to en8 just clued?
2 en9's related to the en8
yes TO
ta 6/21 = ta + *M* Pinafore + Last W**l and Testament
only one en8?
yes, I would be mystified too. Mine are a congenital thing where I have loose joints.. they dislocate and pop and crack
just one
lol ty nrkii.. i would not of got that one unless i was spoon fed it;)
Wow! That was an amazing clue nrkii. Thanks so much.
but a rotator cuff and then a separated shoulder.... hmm...

Rats. Wrong box what is wrong with me? The clues are for the wrong day and I am not going to keep this up for very long. No excuses.
you can do it stid, keep going.
that's okay, stidmere. I usually do that; you just beat me to it today
Thanks for helping me through a silly patch. I only have 305 words left and need to complete two chapters of Latin for the midterm next week. Avoidance is the best policy.
there are clues on babbler anon's page
is lickety down again? I hope that doesn't mean more bad news for them.
go, go stidmere! you can do it! (i'll help anyone procrastinate today! ;-)
Right, never do today what you can put off until tomorrow. Too hot here to do much. It's 78 in the shade and for us it is a heat wave.
Hello everyone. I need some help with the e's in the second row and the bottom row. please
78 is hot? I like that temp
debjed; if I had something from those two tiles I'd have NBT. But I don't yet so can't help
thank anyway:)
I have a raft of combinations the e could not be but nothing at all yet from that area.
e4 what **** do you have in your shopping basket.
I know, I grew up in Los Angeles and 78 was sweater weather. Now it is really hot.

Hello Mrp :-)
hi MRP - absolutely not!
hey mr p!
Hi zoom :) Hi lynxx *pout* I wanna have some fun! Hi Dipp :)
morning to you too, mrp. Don't be too rough on him, babanon is working. We just get lazy and whine when his site isn't current
howdy, mrp :-)
Hi Nef :) Hi Une :) glad babanon is working... does BJ still post clues?
no, but we're fine with shared clues :-)
hi Une - lovely flowers, what are they?
my mom and grandmother always called them magic lilies -- some call them surprise lilies or resurrection lilies
foliage comes up in the spring, then dies back -- then in July, they pop up and surprise you!
TY must see if they are available here
once you plant them you have them forever -- some of mine are nearly 50 years old :-)
also known as naked lady lily apparently
yes :-)
also, they last a long time as a cut flower
ahh, Belladonna lillies too! I already have some - for about 15 years - never flowered for me!
what i have is actually "lycoris"
FYI Google says they do exist in Australia! :-)
I've not has a lot of luck with lillies..maybe its my soil - very sandy. Some beautiful flowers in the lycoris family. TY for the info
Clue for the first li 5/10
not sure if its the first one but li is a kind of material - used to be made in stockings
not sure if it is the first but... l & land surrounded by water
could be, lynxxx -- my soil is rich and humusy -- very different from sandy soil, like in California . . .
clue for ae 5/14
ae 5: alt. sp for the eg 4
Got it - thanks, cybernan
hello everyone -- stalled a 123 and still haven't found all the 8-9 combos -- just have the el and the en 8-9-9

sorry -- make that one le 8-9 combo along with a 6 and two 7's on the same theme
why is it that checking back on my phone log, I got a call at 10.45pm last night and can't remember the bloody call??
ooh and another 6-7 combo

still missing one 9: have en x2, le, si
le x 2, nan
both are plurals
ty -- looking
well, a plural noun and a verb . . .
got them -- thanks again
go, nan!
9s are ch,en*2, le*2, si
isn't one a past tense and one a plural noun?
not the le's, TO
mmm -- don't have the ch
ch - the person who makes the ch5.14
ch8 ch + one who uses a palette and easel
and plural
got them -- ty
excellent! :-)

Maybe a bit ..
undo button wherabouts?
Not sure of the vista version, but you should be able to customize your toolbars and that should be one of the choices for the edit toolbar ..
or 7/8 please?
at last fireworks for me!
people who tell stories
tis not a menu choice - since work jsut moved over, will need a *shudder* manual...
Should be at the very top left of Excel - to the right of the save button at the very top - up near the Microsoft icon
It doesn't have view>toolbars>customize or it doesn't exist as a choice?
ty, buff.
i don't know = i couldnot go to beach on day off waiting for teh support to get me set up for monday morning travel

Swell ..
unless the geeks removed it.spent 30 minutes while the on line ones umed and ahed looking for it
but the elitebooks are nice and compact. i think i like it.
AND it is configured so that i cannot get anything on the net except work. must bring personal pc with me. i think i will be spending my spare time in the bars
sorry, bye
which bar - get me a cosmo
wellsomehow i don't think bars in carlisle pa are big on fancy cocktails
Getting close to V time here ..
i think i will just bring a bottle
babble is ridiculously slow - is it just me?
it is. it;s the grid size
knew i shouldn't have started this - should have looked for lickety first
i was here twice for 1 1/2 hours before someone mentioned there was none
there's a list, just not lickety's ... babanon, babrab's profile or uni's profile
big difference in a grid this long
BIG
chai - not a word
i protest.
me too
please use my clue for two, obvious as they may be
unless you are hungry. or dieting. or lactose intolerant. ;)
LOLOL - did not have them
150 left
I listed at 46 ... too tired
don't they look yummy? forgot what the red one is called. never saw a red ch6
Hello again. I have uni's profile up with the clue list if anyone is in need of it right now.

http://www.playbabble.com/profile_mini .php?id=3943
absolutely! wtg tor! what makes it red?
could I please have a clue for ac6/24
sorry site slow. time to go, storms are coming.
nm, found it
flosey, I don't have that yet
"apricot Stilton, Windsor red, Maytag blue and Chevagne (cubed). "
Nef, it continues from previous word, drop the d, add sc*** as in nice view
thanks, flosey.
yw
I have 160 words left to go! :-D
lucky you Nef, I barely started this last night, then flew home, just starting again, 212 to go!
I started about 3 hours ago; was on the phone for a while but not playing then. I had a HUGE bunch of phantoms appear after I'd found the 1st 100 words.
hello all, 59 left here
and only have 2 blacked out tiles so far. :(
hello briefly -- I have 167 left but errands to do -- ty flosey for the ac6 and welcome home!
I have 80 left
Hi again peri
HI gang
thanks Jilli - just til Sunday but it is Heaven to be back here
still needed there
344 words without Lickety is quite a hurdle
cute baby flosey! Hi jilli and DR
thanks Nef, new grandson
are they doing better Flosey- especially you daughter?
I've found the list in BabAnon
sure is a huge hurdle jilli good for you
jilli, someone said clues are up over on babanon; I have uni's profile which she has the list on
doubt if I'll finish -- not going to miss a nice swim this afternoon!
baby has always been a real gem and healthy - daughter is coming along very nicely - we just have to make sure she doesn't overdo, or too soon
swim sounds great jill
my first grandchild is a boy too and he's now 10 weeks old
I understand that. I am relieved that they are both doing well
Nef, I saw that too -- I find the babanon list easier to arrange so it fits on the screen over where Lickety's usually is (in BabbleExpert)
did your dtr have problems?
thanks DR, I really appreciate all the concern I've received here in babble
well, must dash and do the errands -- back later
Bye Jilli
yes Nef, preg. went very well, labour much too long and emerg. C section - then another emerg. surgery but she's coming along very nicely
sorry to hear she had problems flosey. Sending out healing thoughts to her now.
hi all
hi jmc
I am holed up in a hotel in Chicago avoiding the conference I came to
281 left
flosey sorry to hear of your daughters troubles
I will hold her in the Light
what is your conference on jmc?
stepped away for a minute, thanks Nef
it is on learning how to provide truth in military recruiting since the military doesn't
and jmc, many thanks
I am leading three workshops
{{{flosey}}}
and avoiding other speakers?
well I wanted my white male staff person to come because I have to contend with Mother in the hospital but the conference needed to keep their PC in Line
so as the woman I got to come
I find PC a tiresome aspect of my job
I can imagine. What sort of group is attending this convention?
lots of earnest young people but also many people who have been at this for 30+ years and whom I respect
I will be gl4 to see some of them
and a handful of the usual possers
earnest young people can wear on a person after a while I find....
firewords
well part of me responds to their sincerity and energy -- but I find in groups of more than 2 or 4 if becomes more of a feeding frenzy than anything
whooo hoo wild!
WTG, wildcat!
Congrats Wild!
tyvm
*throws confetti*
now to make dinner hagn e1
:)
good thing I keep the confetti in the computer
bye wild
bye wild.
yay wildcat
hi dorens
help with the top i for nbt?
hi j
need clues for my last three words. se 6/24 , last si5/10 and 6/18 ty
jmc, I hope your confetti isn't made from the plans to overthrow the world leaders! ;-)
*thinking==> Rats, I have been found out!*
top I is two short words combined
in6.18 They in****ed on you attending conference
ty nef
and ty lynxxx --- you were listening!
se6.24 withdraw
matches, I haven't got a single one of those words. Sorry.
ty lynxx I wish I could but I amhere now
could I please have a clue for ar8
good clue lynx ty
jmn you are in Chicago?
ty lynxx
ar8 is an extension of the painter
<Why doesn't someone ask for words I do have, I wonder?>
yes esp I am in Chi Town
thanks Mary
what hotel?
yw
The Palmer House
oooo - jmc, do you like jazz? can recommend a fab jazz spot
poor nef
get to do anything fun?
I love jazz kje
tonight only for fun
still needs clues for last si 5/10 and si6/18 ty
nowhere near the si's yet
suggestions??
wow, last night was billy joel and elton john concert
jmc - go the The Green Mill - historic jazz spot on Broadway - it is a ways from the mag mile but is phenomenal jazz, loaded with atmosphere
the one si 5/10 I have is a math diagram
have you been to Navy Pier?
please tell me there are only 2 gh words
jmc did you go up to the Willis Tower?
or a waveform
it is so cool b/c the audience is everything from college kids to old couples in black and hats
NOOOOOOOOOOO to Willis Tower, how stupid
just got here this time Mary -- but no I have not been in the WIllis Tower
jmc, there are only 3 (one is a pl)
I wouldn't go either
and really good jazz... and cocktails, nice bartenders - no food though so eat first
now now esprit different people have different tastes
I meant the name change!
if you do not like it, I'll pick up your tab ; )
they could change statue of liberty to torch lady or something
lol kje I would have to come to Texas to get it!
agree esprit still call it Sears tower
nah - I'll mail it - but if you come to texas i'll pay it in dinner and drinks
everyone will
I am waiting for a sailor to come pick me up for supper so where is the jazz place
look at all the written stuff they would have to change
4802 north broadway
is the fleet in jmn?
cool bar, jmc - dates all the way back to post prohibition time.... walls are covered with all the freats who have played there
ooo th e sears tower? I did that years ago. WHat's with the Willis Tower stuff?
they want to change the name from Sears to Willis
I am downtown in the loop -- how does that jive?
ol'e blue eyes himself in town ;-)
it's a 20 min taxi ride
jmc - hop in a cab and go....
which direction? maybe I will get him to take me to a restaurant near by
north of you
that is what we did, i heard about this place by eavesdropping on a couple at a restaurant one night and they were saying it was theirfave club in chicago - so my friend and i walked outside, i googled the address on my iphone, caught a cab, and went
hmmm.... not sure about restaurants nearby - LOL - interesting neighborhood
if you are in the loop - go to blackbird
that's Uptown, very mixed
http://www.blackbirdrestaurant.com/
blackbird is not near your jazz club
it is also very expensive and doubt if you would get in without reservation
jmc - NORTH broadway - therefore, it is NORTH
blackbird is not near the jazz club, you can call and get reservation - they do pretty well with early seatings - and moderately expensive and worth every penny
then catch cab to jazz club
so what is the name of this club? and is it the kind of place where they are all over you like white on rice if you sneeze?
there is the chicago jazz showcase which is closer to the loop, but i didn't think it was as good... though still good if you want to do that... but the showcase had a big cover charge, greenmill was cheap
greenmill --I think I went there last time I was here
the club is The Green Mill - and it is casual... it is not a touristy place at all, and you may have to stand if you show up after 1030
great music but a lot of attitude
well since it looks like I am eating at 7 10:30 shouldn't be a problem
how hard would it be to catch a cab back?
not at all... we walked out the door about 1230, waved, and cab stopped
wow, i didn't get attitude at all.... you are just being senstive - chicago up and get a shell, jmc!!! ; )
that's me all sensitive!
*puts helmet on*
*bonk*
so no one is suggesting the blue man group?
I love Blue Man
it's a lot of fun
ac 5/12?
you can also go to navy pier and hear music in the beer garden for free
not my thing jmc
ac+ greek letter
been to navy pier
my great grandmother in law used to own the land where the navy pier is
ty
you mean the pier itself?
maybe it was great great -- no the land before the pier
1st ag5/14?
there is no lang, it's a pier built on the lake
sorry I am being imprese with my husbands family lore -- the land from which the pier juts out
ah
you can be sexist racist or ag***
that woulda been worth a nice chunk of change
what do I know? it isn't even my own family lore
is that the 1st? i was thinking it was the second
Lake Point Tower is currently the very easternmost building in Chicago
sorry I am not listing (such as it is) yet
ah - years old + half a goose
PB for yu ms jmn
ooops hows the Bourbon supply?
ty kje
no pb with a grid this big and no lickety!
here here, dorens!!! our voice of reason
*looking up from her massage from the cabana boy* no no that's alright!
hello all, help with last li7 pls
heehee
you knoew when write emails now I catch myself stopping to check for the word in the grid?
hi peri!
48 left and tired of this grid
good evening
mine is past tense of li 6/24 peri
hi mag
but no li**, so don't know if that helps.
NM
is peri pulling a peri?
a slow peri
:D
if you strangle someone with a piano wire, you're likely to leave li****** marks (or however many *s there are in that word) ... it's the base word and then past tense
ick welki!
*shrug* it's the best i could do
li + water**** scandal with Nixon
and past tense
li6 is to tie a bleeding vessel...then PT
bbl
lol .. now all the good clues appear!
where are u going for dinner with your sailor jmn?
don't know I asked him to pick a Chicago kind of place that blue jeans would work at
is he stationed at Great Lakes?
yes he is while he is waiting for a conscientious objector discharge that I am helping him with
gosh so many dangling prepositions my mother would be turning in her grave if she was dead
I applied for a job there recently
at 90?
I'm not 90!!!!
sorry I only got you profile to go by! (dangle)
OMG I don't remember writing that
yeah I need to remember to take off my eggplant casserole recipe myself
so are you in Chicago?
does the program give you an arbitrary age if you don't fill in your birth year?
if you are n't 90 I presume you are more mobile
don't take the eggplant recipe off yet, jmc
no clue esprit
havn't you copied it down yet peri?
because that sentence does not appear in my accuont profile and I did not put in the birth year LOL
I am trying to copy it now, jmc
take your time peri I am not going to do it tonight
OK, that explains it, the absence of birth year arbitrarily made me 90
testing
this hotel set up keeps unplugging grrr
I was in a hurry to copy in and it is all scribbly :-) sounds good. will make it soon.
thunder hear, may have to log off soon
peri can
everyone on the chog who has made it liked it
you copy and paste and put it in word processing
I wrote it down already Dorens
30 left ... can't....go....any.......mmmmoooorrre ee
cool
I didn't know it was there jmc
i'm down to 36 and going crazy here
my aunt would be quietly proud with her recipe spanning the globe
LOL..i know how you fell ch1212
hang in there chch12
Ah, but did you know I skinned my knees when I fell? :)
LOL..ok i meant feel :-)
there was a theme of family recipes or something and I never took it off
poor ch1212 do you need them kissed?
LOL! Taking a little tea break. Oh wait a minute -- jmc is offering to mommy me. Yes! (and a hug)
so esprit are you in Chicago per se?
>{:
no I am in nw suburbs now, formerly lived at Lake Shore and Hawthorne by Belmont Harbor. But I come in quite often
where is kje to tell me how to emoticon a kiss?
:-*
starting to rain here
33 words left, all s and t words
That's better. Now I'll go get my tea and be right back.
i have 34 and they're all over the grid!
suburbs around here are stretch -- just thought if you were nearby we could meet up
If I had know, I would have been happy to
I was actually just in the Loop yesterday
do you come to Chicago often?
sorry I was so caught up with my Mother I didn't do any proper planning
It goes in fits and spurts
bbl
mom is in chicago?
no my mother was in hospital
monday I go to salt lake city
is she ok now?
two weeks I go to providence RI
i will be driving through there on sunday
hard when you are out of state
she is better -- she is 95 so it is all relative
and you thought I was her age :-)
fortunately my sister is nearby
that helps
exactly so it did not occur to try to meet up [blush]
lol, you ARE an ag***!
that would explain why you guys were ignoring all my comments during that whole jazz club, location etc
[blush]
we were not ignoring the comments
I was very impressed at your knowledge for such an old lady!!!
lol
you would have plotzed if I told you to go to The Baton
but since it had been there since the prohinition. . . .
I am missing a li 6?18 word, right after the 4 letter word shopping li**. Can anyone help?
lol probably
sorry inge don't have it
so you are recommending the The Baton?
use your hearing organ inge
where is that?
I'm not sure they even let women in there any more
it is on Clark Street just outside the loop
gay bar?
female impersonators
before the hearing organ is a li6 that ends with a golf apparatus
I got that one, there must be another li 6?18
ahh well they are not unknown in DC
I was in DC in April
I got to see the peak of the cherry blossoms as a side bonus, I was thrilled
the cherry blossoms are a nice bonus
Ige... shopping Li** + double vowel
something I have always wanted to see
there was a meet up in DC but it was on SUnday so I couldn't make it
in 2 years or so they will have a 100 year anniversary, that should be spectacular
do you have the li6/18 that starts with shopping item and ends with communication device (1st 3 ltrs)
ty ch. i didn't have them
well you should check out the wild flowers in texas some spring equally amazing
yw
ty ch1212
(bet you thought I wasn't li6/18ing
hello babble friends! WOW did I get my wish or what?! BIG ol' honking puzzle today!

well there is that one that smells like dead fish
neato trif
that's true century plant
I beg your pardon?
like a corpse is how I've heard is described
I just took a bath
hi ru!
I don't like the scent of flowering pear trees. they are gross!
and people flock to see it when it blooms
anyone have a bi 5/18?
no take that back
hawthorne tree smells kinda fishy in blossom
I won't take it back either!
dorens, I think it has something to do with a ship. Or think of the singer Mary J. and .... never mind

There is a stats list in my bio however, and someones also posted a list in BabAnon.

Oh bad news,TO. I ratheradmired him.
To - I know his name and I can see his face but, for the life of me, I can't remember what I saw him in.
What a name to go through life with, though!
journalist, jacs. in the true sense of the word.
now he made more of an impact in the US than Michael Jackson but will get none of those accolades
jacs: he is a legend here. the name seems entirely natural to us.
Got him.
bye all

Another name that grabbd m was the name of the man who rang me from Canada to check up on my ex bro-in-laws credentials to go from being a UK Bobby to a Canadian policeman, Wayne Lauinger.
You do get some exotic names over there in 'the States'.
would it be soterrible to quit this thing?
red - you can quit or play, your choice. It's not a competition.
In deed,Ijust feelthat since I started, I should finish.
it's funny really, I never thought of "walter cronkite" as a particularly funny name...I suppose he was always so dignified....
Wellm it is... but isn't really. LOL.
Agreed trif, but...itsa household name here.
of course you can quit red we are not addicted
I have 19 ch- words. is that all of them?
But, with that name, he does sound like he should be in the cast of 'The Flntstones'.
Jacula, thats sacreligious to say that!
Yes, Trif.
Crokite in the Flinstones!

Sorry, Red, but that's the UK vote. LOL.
Walter Cronkite used to always end his news with "and that's the way it is"
how many ca words, please?
The NAME not the MAN!
Jacs, if you saw his newscasts, you'd change your mind, a very serious dignified man.
2 x ca worda, Trif.
thank you jac. so it's a ce I am missing then....
Red- serious and dignified does not preclude being in the Flintstones.
Oh I think it does!
Prob ce4/5 - shit removal system, Trif. ce + double consonant.
nope, have that. lovely clue though, thanks!!! lol
Walter Cronkite was such a serious but kind man. I think that when I was young he seemed almost god-like...
Maybe you view the cartoon somewhat differntly to me, rif.
have 6 ce4s - is that right, please?
Yes, Trif.
2 ce5s
Hmm, 'Godlike' isn't a term I'd give to any commentators or newsmen.
3 x ce5, trif.
whoo, thanks jac! have to suss one out then.

Jac getting so tired that I thought that was some kind of code for a clue with the caps on and off LOL
Trifi, I had to go look it up. I knew it was about the vietNam war; he reported at one point that he thought it was "unwinnable" and Pres. Johnson felt that the country had turned against him and the war at that point
ok ty. got a friend request from that name
I get a bit worried when I go through my old e-mails and don't see my friends who are in their 60th, 70th and more years on here in a while.

I'll try e-mailing latr, when we get back from seeing the new Harry Potter film, TO.
Comfy chairs booked in the 'de-luxe' part of the cinema now. (Apparently de-luxe is the norm in Dutch cinemas, my son tells me.)
when are you going to see it, jac?
and hey, how much later can it get for you? isn't it like 3 am?
Better be comfy - films 153 mins long and my back not liking cinema ans theatre seats since of did the 2nd vertebra above my coccyx in falling off an office swivel chair onto a conrete floor.
it is 3:35 am here trif
my eyes feel like they have grit in thm..lol
At 4pm today (Sat), Trif.
It's 3.37am here in UK.
hey jacula..i went to see the new harry potter film myself yesterday :-)
oh! I almost forgot! we heard quite the racy story from out of nottingham over here - apparently some lady ordered a gorilla-gram for her son's birthday at his school, and they sent a stripper instead. she showed up at his school, did her WHOLE act, and tried to get him to rub lotion on her bottom and the whole thing. the school is apparently "looking into" the incident. Teenage boy WIN
Was it good, zooz?
Trif - WHAT??? LOL!
Yes..you will like it.
seriously!
hi
hello Ocean
Seriously, that's very worrying when you wonder about school security.
I imagine they knew something was planned for the boy - just not what. It was the agency's fault, they missed up the booking
hey ocean bluff how are you?
hi loribear im doing phantom
That reminds me of the story Beloved told me about his fiancee ordering a Roly Poly Gram for their engagement party. What turned up was Tarzan and Jasne. I've seen a pic of him his mother has of him biting the garter off Jane's thigh.
