so can I tell y'all the odd thing that happened tonight?
sure
I am in Utah at a Baptist conference this week
I have been joking on the chog about how all my bourbon has to be virtual
morning all
so tonight I was invited to a birthday party by one of the Baptist poohbahs
hi rolin
they served wine and beer
hello rolin
hi rolin
hi rollin
its oce the ad5/12 and the or6/18 are linked in the grid
Is that a no no for baptists? excuse my ignorance
so we were sitting there chatting about this and that (mainly about religion) when there is a knock at the do4
Baptist theoretically are dry and sourthern Baptists are definitely drive.
This crowd was a mixed of a couple of different kinds of Baptists
SO there is a knock on the do4 and the birthday girl (of 65 or so) goes to answer and there is a police officer and two young people
So we apologize for being so noisy and the police officer said no it's because you are drinking at all and we have to confinscate all of the alcohol or pout it out!
SO a Baptist birthday party got raided!
lol how did they know? (is it illegal to drink in Utah?)
they do have strict drinking rules in UT
apparently it is a dry campus so it is illegal to drink on campus
it's illegal to drink on most campuses (presuming you're on a college campus) but moreso in UT
lol so were you handcuffed and taken down to the station? (rhetorical)
no but they said we could either put it in the car and leave the state tonight or pour it down the drain.
so you poured it?
I said if they wanted it pour out they could do it themselves so they poured out 24 bottles of beer (there were about 16 people at the party so it wsa obviously not a raucous crowd)
just so odd to get raided at a Baptist birthday party where except for two children I was among the youngest there
sigh in this day and age...people should have a choice
and since the conference coordinators were ate the party I think it will be a long time before they come back to Utah
lol
nbt,s bbl going to have a beer
next time.....Las Vegas!!
lol that is where my son is right now!
bring me one diem!
sin capital of the world! lol
last year at this time I was preparing to go to vegas for my son's wedding

Good question, broll. I think jillibus mentioned having e-mailed her but got no reply. Is that correct, jillibus?
wtg jili
broll, I'm worried -- I emailed her a few days ago and no reply
correct, Haz
one ko sounds like a looney or twooney with a vowel on the end
I'll check the archives to see if she has been playing but not chatting.

8's are...de,io,io,pr,pr,pr,pr,re,re,re,re ,ti,to
the other ko 4 sounds like the centre of an apple
ty just, got it
No, not playing, she has dropped almost 50,000 points in the last 2 weeks.
That's why I wondered.

She didn't play yesterday, certainly.
I should know that ko4/8 -- one of our Danes was called that by her new owner
She must be quite unwell. I can't imagine that she's had a sudden cure for babble addiction.

Is monkeygames the babbler who also lives in the Netherlands?
Sprite's icon picture has not been update since July 18.
I think so broll
updated, that is.
Yes, broll, they have met up in real life so she should be able to find out what's happened.
Well, I'm worried too. I hope she's ok.

hello, Just.
Hello, Andree
Must away - bye for now

bye anike
my son left for london this aftrenoon, please tell me its nice weather

Hello Andree.
good thing he ain't coming here...we are having a non summer :(
ugh nothing worse, we are having a non winter but i am definitly not complaining
sigh...we should only have a non winter
its very pleasant and quite unexpected
well glad for you although you don't usually have rough winters
hi andree
sydney winters are quite mild, but at 23degrees c all this week its unbelievable
hi jilli
lol that's our summer but with lots of rain (this year) should be in the high 20's to low 30's in July
we are called the lucky country
Morning/evening all. Coming up for air from the depths of the grid.
yep I can see that although Melbourne usually has colder winters than you, yes?
moo
Yes! hello all again
any cluesfor todays puzzle????
speaking of colder and warmer places in ossie...anyone seen Sandyloo lately ...I think she's in Perth
Good morning FM - just back from hanging out the laundry.
hi fmitch and lynxxx
wb lynxxx
i have not seen sandy since her daughters op, have been wondering how she is
She hasn't been around for a few months Just. Her computer was broken and she was looking after her daughter after her op.
I remember her daughter was going thru such a horrible situation :(
do yo know if her daughter is doing well?
gat s
i haven't seen rose since she got back either, we had a day out with mrp on the day their ship docked but i haven't sighted her on babble
unerman - if you haven't played before, the idea is to get as many 4 letter and bigger words from the grid opposite. There are 300 today. You can get a list of first two letters and length of words from Lickety's babble clues, under Friends of Babble, bottom left corner.
rose was here just the other day Andree.
i know what to do, i figured it out, but thanks. who had an op????
I made contact a few weeks after the op. She was in pain - but i imagine it was too early to judge whether the op was successful.
well I sure hope she's doing well, poor thing...what a thing to happen :(
fmitch its probably me i am not om much lately,i am making a new quilt and i get carried away , haven't seen sprite lately either
Was awful...the medicine she was given seems to have a number of legal cases against it in the States
thx lynxxx, keep us up to date, i so hope the op was a success
Getting carried away quilting - how I know that feeling!
hahahahahaha
lol I know what you mean Andre, get stuck into a new project and time just goes out of the window.
well that won't help her much...in the states you can sue whomever for a bundle
FM understands as well.
not here though..:(
and haz when you patch you nearly wear out the iron pressing constantly, know you would love that
Was it the original medicine that caused her to have the seizures that was so iffy?
we could quilt and Haz could ir4, and everyone would be happy :)
Yes Haz
ha ha fmitch
Good thinking FM, just as long as I got the credit for the whole project turning out beautifully.
or we could torture Haz by making her sew!
have you unearthed anything else interested about yr ancestors Haz?
*interesting that is
Apart from the rich seam of embroidresses that I'm descended from? I told you about the shotgun wedding?
Hi folks! Not really playing right now, hubby's birthday, house to clean and lemon meringue pie to make. But I wanted to let everyone know I just spoke to Sprite on the phone. She is not terribly ill or anything--she just has been overdoing it and is taking a lot of necessary time to rest and build up some resistance. She gets well from one common virus and immediately comes down with another and wants to just take some time do do nothing until she can get back on her feet. She thanks everyone for their concern, loves you all, and will be back on when she feels it's a good idea to be active again.
didn't hear about the shotgun wedding
Thankyou so much for that MonkeyGames
thank you monkey
Well, we knew that husband's grandmother had got married at age 15. Birth dates now confirm that she was pregnant at the time, to a much older man.
ty monkey; much relieved to hear
Hi MG thanks for passing that on, appreciated!
thx monkey, pass love and get better soon wishes on
Thanks for letting us know, MonkeyGames.
No problem! I was worried too. OK, back to cleaning and baking! Have fun everyone!
Happy Birthday Mr. MonkeyGames!
Bye MG - best wishes for the birthday boy
bye MG
I'll pass taht along! *poof*
Haz - did your husband know his grandfather?
interesting Haz.
No, lynxxx, he died quite young, in his thirties/forties I think.
Thanks, monkeygames -- I just got back from Facebook and saw your message -- phew!
phantom: slubberdegullion
good one babble
now that is a great word BR!
a slobbering fool?
pretty close, lyn
That sounds like a Scots word to me, I could be wrong, but they like calling people names like hallions and gulpins.
A filthy, slobbering person.
But google says it might be a combination of English and Spanish/Portuguese.
back soon, must make dinner
bye Andree
Bye Andree - how long is your son in London?
bye andree
btw -- sprite is a phantom here!
so is your teiid Jilli
a variation is used here in a Scottish invective: http://tinyurl.com/32z7f3
that's dartie's fav word lol but there is a word with ii
thanks, lyn, lol!
dart and I share teiid
Thanks, babblerabble. Make a list of those, it would keep you in phantoms for a while!
oh okay
drawlatch hoydens - now there is an insult with a difference
Scots cake makers must not have gone to Patisserie school by the looks of it.
when delusional, conjuring a phantom truly is not difficult
I know, and it always concerns those who don't realise your MO. They seek to point out the missing letters.
da5/6...sounds like Hawaii 5 0...book him da*** add vowel in the middle!
200 words and nearly 2:00 am -- bedtime!!! Night all!
bye Jilli, sweet dreams
Good night jillibus, sleep well and don't dream of slabberdegullions.
Nighty night jilli.

tough grid for me
Well done Just, sleep well.
Congrats Just, goodnight
Congrats Just. Haz did you get your printer to behave in the end?
Yes, FM. After I had shown it the instructions and the CD and threatened to uninstall it, I shut the computer down. When I switched it back on, the printer swung into life. I joked with Lori yesterday that it printed out SORRY.
LOL, glad you showed it who was boss :)
In fact, it printed out, without protest, what I had been pleading with it to print for ages. Talk about artistic temperatment!
But we're letting bygones be bygones and I haven't written it down in the incident book.
Ist rule of computer use...when something goes wrong, turn off then turn back on. I keep forgetting it but it always works for me
I know - same with internet when it goes awry. Switch off the router, switch it back on and pr6/21!
Is that what computer helpdesks do all day? Tell people to switch off and on again?
I have to turn off at the power switch for internet issues
Yes, I switch it off at the plug and back on.
Would it be inappropriate if I requested a slightly smaller grid for tomorrow, these big ones are sapping.
You're the one with the ear of Dr-G.
*gets down on knees to send a message*
And you'll be blamed, whatever the size of the grid.
really?
Oh absolutely, lynxxx. Didn't you know?
I haven't been blamed for anything for ages, amazing.
It's just kind of understood, FM. What was the last thing you advised Dr-G about, I've forgotten?
300 words in those letters? <------ I beg to digger! G'd Morning Babblers!
hi Lori
umm , how to solve the wolds economy but I don't think he was listening.
Hey ho, Lori
I also might even beg to *differ.
Morning Lori, lol I ws wondering :)
"ws" you? :p
I remember now, he wasn't aware that the server had gone down or something and you told him. Everybody else just complained, you swung into action. We don't call you The Administrator for nothing.
good job FM
**no-one mention the amount of re's, we don't want to scare Lori off** Oh yes thats right Haz, I had forgotten that.
THOUSANDS of re words. THOUSANDS.
Holy crap! I hadn't even noticed until, until...... gah
Actually the p's and n's were worse than the r's
They stretch beyond the little window of the Word List, there are that many of them.
Yuk. re's are worse than taxes.
an infinitiy of re's
On and on and on and on they come.
I've got 19 left.
But don't let that deter you, Lori!
You guys are harsh on a caffeeineless body
19 re left. You hear that? You thought I was exaggerating, didn't you?
you should know better than to babble without coffee!
LOL no 19 words in total left *vaguely smug*
It's brewing, just not fast enough. ***ignores the re taunting and rises above it all***
Well yes, I thought that was the case but we like to keep Lori on her toes...
*whispers there are 32 of 'those' words*
So, that's more than 10% of the total grid devoted to re?
*** la la la la la la la la la***
LOL how many more ways can we taunt her with stats?
How many letters used in all re words combined?
I could throw a quick graph together if you like?
Oh yes, graphs are always good.
Just think, Lori, if you ignore re words until the end, you're only less than 90% done.
glad to say I found the god of love unaided today.
Good! He was beginning to get a bit sulky.
not surprising seeing as I gnored him 2 grids on a row.
hello :)
Liz! Hello!
Good morning Liz!
hi Liz!!
How is Sark today?
hi there all. can i please have help with that ko4/8. it rejects the japanese fish!!
FM :) LYN :)
Haz :)
ko4.8 k & iron ***
ko4 - misspelling of the centre of an apple?
Sark's fine FM although I am a tad p******d off today as I attended the wedding from hell yesterday lol
thank you lynxx
off to the PB lynxxx :(
How are you, Liz? Heard anything from our deportee (Ata) on FB?
gah! sorry for using that baaad word
why so bad Liz?
Yes Haz she's having a great time :)
But she's missing us all, isn't she? Pining to get back?
Liz! G'd morning to ya'. :)
Oh FM it was appalling! I ws doing the disco (the music) for the evening party but they were just horrid horrid people
Errr....not sure about that Haz :)
886 points!!!!
Humour us, Liz, we need to feel loved.
soak
Haz! Ata says she's missing you SOOOO badly!
LOL
I KNEW it. She looooooooooves us.
Ata may come home early just to rejoin us all :)
that has no ring of truth to it whatsoever
Can she do that under the terms of the deportation order?
It doesn't really does it Lynxxx?
Actually I'm sulking with Ata because she put Hobbit in kennels instead of donating her to me for the duration
Or will she get a royal pardon. Of course, if John Barrowman would drop the stalking charges, things would be simpler.
wonder if she will be allowed back in this time, it was touch and go last time.
spired
I know. What a time we had, picketing Heathrow and everything.
unerman - you need to put your cursor back into the add word section.
Actuallly Haz, I think John Barrowman forgave her, its David Tennant thats on the run from her now
i know its screwing up
Have you still got the banners, FM?
'Free the Canterbury one'
No I had to dispose of them
Those banners were a political hot potato!
David Tennant, you say? I saw a picture of him with grey hair, they said it had to do with a film role. Obviously he's trying to disguise hiimself to throw her off the scent.
porr Ata!
He's planning on growing a beard too. Ata's probation officer demanded it!
I don't know, if we can get Amy Winehouse back into the country, you'd think it would be simpler with Ata.
Good thinking with that probation officer.
You know "Ata Winehouse" kinda has a ring to it
It shows imagination, foresight, clear-thinking. He's obviously not destined for a career in politics.
You're right, Liz. We could disguise Ata as Amy to get her smuggled in.
LOL Ata? If you're lurking, you know we love you :)
Torn clothes, raggy hair and too much eyeliner.
That eyeliner!!!!!
I know!
great voice though
Actually, if she had kept the hair shorn from Hobbit the last time, we could cobble together an Amy Winehouse wig. Good recycling, don't you think?
damn customer brb
Yes, but if she keeps going the way she is, that voice is going to be either ruined or silenced.
good thinking Haz :)
Same colour, we wouldn't even need to dye it.
that k pops up in some strange places today.
It does, not content just to start words.
That was bad enouogh!
A bit of an attention seeker, is k.
I am running out of steam ...
List time?
Oh I listed at 46, can't afford any more grey hairs.
Have you ever heard of morewords?
I may have mentioned it here before, though not often, I'm sure.
No never, can't think that you have ever mentioned it before at any point over the last 4 years, not once!
I must have imagined mentioning it, in that case.
I've heard that it's awfully useful. But don't quote me.
LOL actually I rarely use I just count like mad.
Well, if you run out of fingers and toes, I've heard that it's useful.
Anyway, I must head off to do the dreaded shopping. See you later!
bye Haz
I will be heading off shortly too for the same. Bye Haz.
Bye!
and done!
Congrats FM!!
Bye lynxxx and bye Lori where ever you are. Happy Babbling.

question: does anyone know what determines whether a word gets the -er ending, or the -or ending? for example, you can have a debtor, but not a debter
no idea, Trif. Good day
good day, as in you are leaving?
good discussion of er/or: http://tinyurl.com/ox5ybs
oh, br, you are so nice! thank you dear
An agentive ending in the English language is the use of the suffix -er, -or, -ist, or -ian at the end of a verb in order to create a noun meaning "someone or something that does the action the verb describes." Examples include provider (from provide) and builder (from build). Examples of words with -ist and -ian endings include pianist and librarian.
it's a really interesting article, thank you so much for sharing it! I have wondered about the grey/gray thing myself....
hmmm. the very -or vs -er factor comes to play with the do/21,,,
good morning trif and bab
and anyone else
interesting article and fwiw I like Gray for a surname and grey for the color
hello, west
how are you today bab?
doing okay .. have a sense of being quite ignorant again, having not come across the term "agentive ending" before. I just used "actor."
how can you possibly know everything there is to know? doesn't make you ignorant
sounds made up to me anyway lol

Hi Une!
it was a long day
I hate air travel!
hey, scrabs!
gardening, update, scrabs -- this year I ended up with 90 magic lilies!!
you and me both scrab it used to be so nice
Was able to share A LOT!
wow une that's super
Good morning Bsabblers :)
90! Wow! I have tiger and day lilies but have not heard of magic lilies.
morning, nono :-)
hi nono
Hi Nono
also known as surprise lilies, naked ladies, resurrection lilies
"lycoris"
we've had so much rain our hydrangea is about to eat Rhode Island
they're sooo satisfactory: they're beautiful, last a long time as a cut flower, endure forever (I have some from my grandmother's garden!)
west, what a wonderful problem to have!! Lucky you!
I want to get hydrangeas for my yard. Do deer eat them?
yes one good thing about this record breaking rain
hydrangeas do LOVE to have wet feet!
I don't know scrab but they probably do
gardening advice they are big and white I want some color what do I need to add to the soil and when?
My friend adds something that makes them blue--check with a nursery
scrabs, I googled it and found this: Unfortunately, deer love young hydrangeas. They also like new leaves on older plants. However, the older plants usually survive the damage even if they don’t bloom that year. If you are having problems with newly planted hydrangeas, it might help to plant larger hydrangeas and protect them with wire cages the first few weeks they are in the ground.
okay thought you might know off hand
they were here when we bought the house
color depends on acidity of soil . . .
which doesn't explain why mine bloom BOTH pink and blue! LOL
it's magic une lol
we don't see many deer around here I should put up a free lunch sign
The deer don't eat my hostas because those are close to the house and the deer must be afraid to get that close.
here's a website re hydrangea color: http://tinyurl.com/rup84
thanks une
TY, Une
Time to dive into the grid--I have been chatting and reading the newspaper.
yw :-)
A tufted titmouse just arrived at the birdfeeder--beautiful.
oh, they're so adorable!
i wish i were you, sc.
morning, hursh :-)
morning
Hi hurshy. Why? Living in the woods, with birdfeeders all around and many varieties of birds?
good website une looks like I'll have to spray paint the whites if I want color
west LOL!!!
good morning hursh
Haha, westford. No one will notice from a distance.
off to have a bit of breakfast -- BBL *poof*
Bye Une
and I'm off to get ready have a good day all
well, being into birds and flowers and knowing stuff about them, having a career where you make a difference, being all active with friends and stuff, no husband...
Yes, I am happy with my choices, hurshy. I am blessed. Are you having marital issues?
always *wry smile*
Aw....what are your plans?
to keep a stiff(ish) upper lip and accept that my life is what it is
No separation planned?
nah, tried that before, felt too guilty
Is he happy?
Phantom = respite
i don't think he's happy exactly but he wants our relationship to be better, not un-married
Are you optimistic?
born pessimist
gm youse
*clearing throat* GM YOUSE
Hi Jean! How are you?
gm jean
:-D
viviendo la vida loca Scrabs
Besides naked, of course, Jean
that's becoming a problem Scrabs . . . sometimes I forget I have to put clothes on when I go out of the house
Jean, let me give you a warning from my current personal experience. Do not search for dry wood for a camp fire when naked after skinnydipping. I have poison ivy, and in some uncomfortable locations.
OMG woman! What a bad idea
I know the plant but it must have been hidden and I was not careful enough. The itch is intense.
not for nuthin, but with all your woodsy knowledge, you don't scout your campsites for such things?
oh scrabs, I'm sorry but that did make me laugh
ah I see
did you have someone pee on it for you?
Oh, yes, Jean, I am realizing once again what a moron I am.
oh on your worst day you could never be a moron!
that works for poison ivy as well as jellyfish?
Will that help, Jean?
was reading back in the log, Scrabs you are right about the tufted titmouse. It is a beautiful bird
I like the way they fly--up and down through the air
I had a nest of them in my little birdhouse a couple of years ago and what a delight to watch the little ones when they finally left the nest
hey are you two NEW here? You don't ever want to take any of MY advice too seriously
ok, who said something about re words yesterday?
they're back
I have a nest behind me (I am on the roofed portion of my back deck), on a fan vent, and there has been a nest here for several years, first used by robins but this year with Northern juncos. The junco pair has had 2 broods of babies so far this year.
Hi Sue
my more grown up suggestion would be an oatmeal bath Scrabs
I am applying steroid cream and anti-itch stuff and ice packs.
oh my those juncos have been busy little birdies
is it just on your lower parts?
I am wondering how this grid can have 300 words as the words are not jumping out at me.
Neck, arms, trunk, crotch, legs--all tiny patches.
the first hundred jumped out but things have stopped jumping now
aer
are you able to be in the clinic with that?
are you sure it is poison ivy, then, and not something else?
It's not contagious nor so awful that it would stun people. And I do wonder if it could be something else, a omen to some other terrible disease, but it fits with poison ivy given my exposure and timing and itch.
I once suggested to my sister that she rub some poison ivy into her (putz) husband's underwear
Oakier is not a word. Harumph.
which she did, with good results
Yikes, did she, Jean?
oh my Jean!
i just thought if it's so spread around maybe is something you ate... seems like you would have had to roll in the stuff to get it all over
he deserved it
Oh, no, but did he "deserve" it?
hey, I must be psychic!
Hurshy, if I had the rhus oil (poison ivy leaves have this) on my hands then wherever I touched would get it, plus my legs rubbed against it.
You are that among other things, Jean, including hilarious.
you can test yourself, can't you? i mean at work.
ty, tyvm, I'll be here all weekend
I couldn't get tickets to your other shows, Jean, just this one.
I am living the te4 now, Hurshy. First time in my life.
*not sure what that means exactly*
I wasn't sure what you meant by te**ing myself at work.
like, don't you have, you know, medical te4s you can do to see if it is poison ivy or something else
I believe that about 50% of people are allergic to rhus oil and I figured I was not allergic since I have never gotten a rash despite hiking in the woods.
Hey I have a bird question maybe someone can answer for me
I see now. Well, I could see a dermatologist, but this rash seems classic and my exposure was last Friday.
morning, folks
Scrabs could it be poison shumack
Hi welki

QUESTION
hi hoot
yup!
ask away Jean
been waiting to hear that question for a while .. bird must be all grown up already :)
Speaking of birds, here's Hootowl! Hi Hootowl!
Ready, Jean.
hihihi
hi nan, hoot
ok - there is some sort of shore bird that I see outside my window
body is maybe 10-12 "
stands on rocks or shore to feed, does not actually wade in the water
has some brown around the chest and when it flies I see purple underneath
runs away from the water?
no crest or anything
sometimes sits on a tree branch
where are you and fresh water or salt?
mostly he stands on rocks in the shallow end of the pond
fresh water, Illinois
white?
no dark color, I see brown and on the underside when he flies, purple
not a heron or egret, I know those and his legs are not that long
what color is the top of his head?
kinda black, no crest or anything
Piper or plover, maybe?
but what's on top ? looking in bird book
smooth head
aha! maybe it is a heron .. there are smaller herons, check out the green backed heron (16" tall, shorter legs)
I think I know pipers or plovers from beach, I have never seen this one except here
ok going to google
here: http://www.bio-diversity-nevis.org/ima ges/Nevis%20Birds/Shore%20Birds/Green% 20Heron.jpg
long beak or short
Green herons are smaller--rusty colored and greenish
was the dark head that made me think of them
BINGO!!
:)
your folks are brilliant
yup - I see it too. Probably juvenile
Yippee, bird ID class has been successful.
I stand in awe!
ok, I have another question: why don't I ever see baby herons, egrets or cormorants?
Didn't use my usual bird book because it never has what I'M looking for. Yours, of course, was!
years ago, i had a nesting pair of great blue herons in my yard; i lived at a convergence of stream and river. i watched them constantly and decided that, if i could be a bird, i'd be a heron ... my nick on the net used to be
'heron' .. wasn't available here. my license plate is 'heron' .. they are magnificent
you don't see them because, by the time they are fledglings, they are almost full grown .. you'd barely notice the difference between juvies and adults
Probably hidden and protected from predators, is my guess.
ty welki
and since juveniles are marked differently from parents you might think them another species.
so when you had the nesting pair you never saw the babies?
I saw my junco babies here--and heard them. Hummingbird is here! It is hovering amongst flowers of garden.
i saw what i thought were the babies .. but only in flight or standing very still in the water. can never be 100% certain unless you see three at a time .. and i never did
I LOVE HUMMINGBIRDS!
saw such wonderful ones in Costa Rica
direst
It may come closer to me where I have a hummingbird feeder hanging.
We only get the ruby throated ones here
Perfect clue, Hootowl.
nuts!
only the best.....

Good day, Harvey!

Bingo, welki!
I was thinking more like an alli***** in nature
In Italian gatto = cat.

he was a survivor of the Great War
Oh. Well, he passed away, according to Twitter.

after 44 words, I'm gonna take a break so I can finish this song I started. We'll see how songwriting goes with my voice gone :)
bye all! happy babbling!
What kind of songs do you write?
Any clue for oa5 will be wellcomed.
Got it!
godthaab: I write all kinds of songs. Lovesongs, heartbreak songs, basically songs with plenty of soul :)
Absolutley stuck on last four : en 5/18; io 6/21; ir 5/18
I was just curious, as I am a composer as well.
Sorry - and ir/30 clues gratefully accepted
How about yourself? What do you write?
two io6 - one medication for cuts, the other like that but ends in calendar unit
en5.18 en & n***a - well known for mobile phones
io 6/21- think salt
I write jazz, fusion, rock. Lots of stuff for 20 piece Big Band, Concert Band, Orchestra. I also do a lot of film scoring.
but not quite
ir 5 -- add Y*** ono; pl
that sounds interesting! I've just started to write songs, considering I'm not quite fourteen, but it's still fun. The very first was EXTREMELY cliche, but it's gotten better.
That's always a good sign. Just keep on writing!
good morning, everyone
like my mom says, "Some people punch pillows for stress relief, but you, you punch the keys." Any composer/musician knows that music becomes an outlet.
118 left - off for some java and slice of walnut cake - bbl

JBV, I was hoping for good results for your husband..so sorry
I am taking long weekends as my vacation this year, so that is good for me and for both of us, since I have more energy to cook, clean, fix up the house, it was pretty bad there for a while

what's titaniam "drusy", sciencegeek?
I am off to be productive! Later. Have fun - still have 159 words..... slow as a snail
would love a clue for the middle O or the i below it
drusy is a rock/mineral formation

is it particular to jewelry? i'm at sg's website and there are gemstone rings that are made of various forms of drusy
don't get confused everyone - we are two different people, both jb's :)
thanks JBV
welki - a drusy is formation of crystals (water seeping through minerals) like geodes. They take certain geodes, cut them and coat them with titanium (a transition metal) in a vacuum with an electrical current passing through the solution of Ti and probably an acid. The variations of voltage in the current are what cause the Ti to deposit in rainbow colors.
I almost thanked myself instead of you ;-)

hey car!
hi sis
Hello NRKii!
Hey Pini!
hey car!
thank goodness for Lickety today! I can't imagine trying to do this grid without...
SG! How are you today?
I was on for a while earlier and am only at 150...so I think it will be a little slow going for me!
I am needing red wine NOW. This puzzle is hard
I am eaxtly at your point
forget the glasses, just pass the whole bottle!
And I am exactly at YOUR point...the red wine STAT point!
LOL! Have you seen the wine glass that holds a whole bottle of wine? So one can look "more elegant" than drinking out of the bottle!
oh, now there's a thought, sis!
I am going to the liquor store for wine and beer for the DH. He thinks I am crazy....all I do is Facebook and Babble
I'll have some Captain Morgan, please...
welcome to our worlds, science!
I hate having addictions!
And, I know that DH eexpects me to cook dinner! LOL
But this addiction is GOOD for our brain cells...
yeah, that's why I keep coming back to play, science!
I think I now officially dislike grids with OID in them.
Stop at the drive thru on the way home from the liquor store!
I think there should be an OINK in here
yes i have had a few of those Nrkii..lol
my phantom today: pirate....have Capt. Jack & Will Turner on the brain I guess! Yee ha!
nice one, sis
Unfortunately...they are on my brain just about EVERY day!
oh, in that case....ummm...nice one, sis! LOL
I suppose I am not the only one who dreams of grids!?
Going for vino
most likely not, science
definitely not, sciencegeek! :-)
ok...power nap time (90F and muggy outside and Koda's already out like a light)
bbiab
I see them when I close my eyes. Not necessarily the one I am working on...just letters and I connect them to make words. Yes...I'm sick!
bye pini!
26 to go here.. powering through
Bye Sistah! Have a nice snooze! Give Koda a scritch scratch for me!
gogogo 143 here
Wow nrkii! Well done!

I need to get the list and check off my words.....after getting WINE
I am going to list....now...

hi gort!
hi nrkii
hmmm, some of the words I missed were not that tough...
You're right nrkii...moves right along with the list...A's done
(as I screech to a halt once again....)
well, I missed the place for criminals, and the types of bad fights that might happen in them (like Attica), and the people involved in both... ugh

tY NRKII!!!! I tried to figure that one out before but got lost in the chog
actually that's not true, my mum is a very elegant person whose only crudity was the time when the immortal words, "Yum Yum Pigs Bum" slipped out of her refined mouth
to this day, she battles with the shame of it
Babble - kr's are complete. ty!
lol gort, I imagine she does

Uh oh...pb for red
hello, H. How did work go today?
oops.
thanks, BR. been waiting to use that one tonight
work was long, not so simple.
ty babble
some people, no doubt, benefited from your presence
I hope so. I was unfortunately not very nice to another Nurse, who was not very skilled in her job.
did you apologize red?
same one, red?
Actually i did not. SHe was not competent in her job and was asking me to do it, and then whineing when I did not have time to do her job.
After starting about 4 of her IV's walking her through a Severe SVT etc...I thought her inability to count a mothers pulse and a fetal Pulse was ridiculous.
I might apologize tomorro.
Glad she wasn't my nurse.
was she under stress? (like you nurses don't have any), maybe she needs to go back and do her internships over.
first ro7/28 please?
it's a no win situation, isn't it, red? if you don't do it for her, then your work appears deficient on your charts .. if you do do it for her, then you're doing 2x your work. my kids experience the same thing in the ambulance
well that didn't get it..i had both of those previous clues. I'm missing the re 8/40 and the re 9/60 right after it.
to6/21 pls
ro + a female sib: s*****
...nevermind the charts, welki! (dumba%%) .. what about the patients!
like the male chicken but with another vowel inplace of one of the double vowels
It's that Welki. Plus this is a skill that is so basic and simple. I got someone to show her how to do it better, and she then refused to go in the room and learn from him. And THEN, she got annoyed when I asked her to start a simple IV for me...grrrr.
txBR!!
Oops, I am sorry I am venting. stopping now.
*pops in to see what's up after 23 hours of power outage, sighs at the sight of 300* - don't think I can do that many in 3 hours :(

(((RED)))
geez.....thanks again BR. M u s t t y p e s l o w e r
Careful red, with a comment like that, someone might think you've finished with the grid!
I need to be more patient with the staff
LOL Gwenski....I have 168 left and almost done.
Why? Patients aren't patient with staff! :)
i always root for meritocracy but for some reason incompetence seems to rule
but then i'm a cynic
or rather mediocrity
in the medical field i sure want my practioners to be competent!
finally, FIREWORKS
Patients are sick, they aren;t supposed to be patient, but I must be patient with the staff, we all make errors, and some times people just focus on themselves and forget about others.
di 6/21? # 1 please

A little monkey, though! :P Aren't they all?
anyone tired of this grid? excepting me?
apparently they went to a planetarium with an outdoor sculpture garden representing the solar system. Tertiare ran on ahead, slipped on the wet grass and hurt her ankle when she slammed into one of the planets. Secondo summed it up thusly: "Tertiare fell down a hill and slammed into Uranus!" Cue hysterical laughter all around....
ar ar ar
136 to go and getting royally stuck here

I had to go get the list, which I try to do as a last resort. 139 to go was my last resort today.

My thoughts exactly, jc!
HAHAHA! Hello, Pam! :)
Hello, jc!

clue for re8/45 plz
Hi JC!!
pav3, ir plus y... ono and plural
Hi, PAV3!!! :)
second re 7 / 32 to inhale, to breathe
same ending sort of for the ir as the en except change last vowel
need the last re8 thanks
beginning to get tired of R words
Well hello there, ruru! :)
like the previous sud.. but add a robot ending
HI JC!!
clue for ti 7 please?
i have an re8, it means to keep, or a wire thingie you wear over your teeth
Oh my god - I love your avatar, ruru!!! How funny - where did you get THAT?!
JC :P~
ir * raing hell
Kazozz! :)
some site jacula sent me to
Why aren't you logged in on the messenger, hmmm? :/
help with the ir 6 / 30 please
monkeying for ir words...pardon me whilst I also eat my burnt crust with pasta sauce to minimize the carbon left in the oven...
glass giant .com
plus a "e"science term by an "vowel"
Trif its sea motion plus to tear something
OK, ruru - but why would such a sign exist?
Or is it a joke pic, someone made up somehow?
It's clever, if so . . .
you're unavailable haha
Pav - my dinner is cold on the counter - DH in bed... not a good scence
I made it up. JC.
thanks kazozz. isn't that usually said the other way around????
Cool, ruru - you did a good job of it! ;) HAHAHA . . .
ro 7./28?
Yes, Trif - just what I was thinking!
thanks jc.. I got a kick out of it too
Thank you for the clue, kazozz! ;)
kje called me a nerd
i thought so trif..got that clue earlier this evening
Then you're in good company, ruru - because I am in this grid. ;)
weird
ro7, male chicken
yes you are JC lol
I am the do4,9 word . . . :P
actually, primo's real first name is almost in the grid today, and his girlfriend's name IS in the grid today. it's a good day
before that one gwen
My real first name will never be in the grid . . .
Or my surname . . .
OYSH, i got a ways to go!
But my middle name could be.
this grid has the most peculiar words in it
change the secOnd vowel ruru to anIther
(At some point.)
not following pav
a nerd? you, ruru? Why, i am shocked, LOL
instead of the male hen, change the 2nd vOwel to another
thanks pav
sounds like those clammy things on the half shells...
ooh, I could be on to a miracle cure here - have one tiny little dot of poison ivy on my arm, and the cat has been licking it for maybe four minutes...hmmmm
morewords has totally saved me tonight..would never find some of these words otherwise
now, my last word in the ir6 30 which doesn't appear to be related to the ir5 before it...
I'm worse than ruru - I'm a do4,9 . . . and Kazozz can verify that! :P
That's working, Trif?
four words left and very stuck re8 last one, ko4, pr5/12 first one and io6/21 last one any help would be greatly appreciated
:) uh huh
JC I'm not finding dodo in the grid today...
Another American contact has poison ivy at the moment.
Doesn't sound like fun - similar to our stinging nettles?
une or scrabbler - we all have it
io6 = salt
Erm, I'm not a dodo, PAV3 . . .
change ending on the re *eye* 6 word before the 8 sudoku
not at all JC - nettle stings go away after about what, 20 minutes? poison ivy is a three week joy
hello everyone
Suduko...last re8 follows the words before it, but ends withthe robotic ending
Oops, rare thunderrumbles here!
otherwise he'd be extinct !
hi west
hi kaz
pr5 p+re4
Oh my god, Trif . . . sounds horrible! :/
I don't see any other do4 words that fit you JC..?

ko sounds like middle part of an apple
I actually don't get it very badly. hardly at all. poor scrabbler is really suffering with it. steroids, antihistamines, the whole thing
Hmmm, PAV3 . . . then you don't know me too well? :P
ir and john lennon's wife Y*** was clued earlier and helped me
ir+yes+round vowel
