you have all lost your minds lol
a person could lose focus
*can't stop giggling at it all*
I did for a moment...lol
Oh, is ruru flying all over now?! How does he do that???
I am not flying anywhere..
mind's maybe but lips aplenty
lol ruru
I should be the one with the gift of flight - being a fairy.
JC, just got your emails etc on Yahoo, plus a mysterious message: You have been disconnected from chat because you have signed in to Yahoo! Messenger from another computer or device. Puzzlement.
I don't use my wings for that...
well they got me distracted now, trying to figure all this lips, collgen, Ruru flying to the country with someones husband rofl
Really, meliae - you never know what might happen in here, do you?!

no we were planning to share lindy
Oh what do you use them for ruru?
no JC- you never do
ohhh that makes it better!??
who was planning to share me????
being angelic
Seems I've been missing things in this chat -- flying ruru monster...
That's rather odd, Jilli - were you by chance, logged into the Yahoo! messenger???
choke, hack, fainting
How could ruru be a monster, Jilli? Surely not . . . ?!
not that I know of, JC!
ruru angelic....hmmm
I think he's lovely - and look how handsome he is! ;)
*** polishes halo ***
only when he wants to be
ok well I am going to go look in the PB for something to eat last time I looked all there was to eat was saurkraut and Peanut butter
*fetching smelling salts for DR*
Ruru, angelic? No no, that's ME! :P
well, in the same reverential sense pertaining to the flying spaghetti monster
Well, after ruru polishes up my halo for me . . .
and me rbud
*** brings cough medicine to DR ***
you pregnant meliae?
The day Ruru becomes an angel will be the day I hang up my keyboard lol
JC? Halo??????

Yeah but who is planning on sharing me???
ooo I found chocolate!
lol too funny
*** oh lord they don't understand ****
stid left it
it seems your hubs and ru in the old country, lindi
~shares the chocolate with DR
My cat got hit with flying spaghetti once - a strand landed on her back and side, and she was very disturbed by it, wondering what it could be 'attacking' her, HAHAHA! She ran off sideways, with her head turned to look at it - then finally, she grabbed it and pulled it off, dropped it, then raced away as if afraid of it!!! :P
Chocolate? I'm in!
thanks Mel- Yum
better get a big flat lindy I am moving in
and please.....don't let ruru be misunderstood
thanks Just wondered what was going on!
hahahaah JC too funny
house ruru I only buy houses!
Oh it was, meliae - one of those things you had to see!
hilarious, JC! But we must never laugh at cats, only with them ;)
houses are better..
~build a fire~ I found smore fixins!
hope you are good at gardening ruru!! lol
with gardens...esp English gardens
snap lindi! lol
lol Lindri
Oh, I laugh at her all the time - perhaps that accounts for her erm, rather temperamental demeanour? :P
*** looks at hands...*** er I don't think so
HI
could be an octopus's garden too, maybe
lol Just, great minds!
yes yes never laugh at a cat they get quite annoyed with you!
Ooh . . . well then, that probably explains much! :P
I have some extra plants....can send your way...

octopus sounds good Just, lots of hands to 'help
hi sammysmom

my son's middle name is Sam, his late grandfather :)
hi sammysmom
I FINALLY CLICKED THE THINK TO SHOW A PROFILE- THOUGHT I HAD DONE IT A LONG TIME AGO
sorry for shouting
if you love cats check out LOL cats sometime, of course you will need to be able to decypher geekspeak but it is a hilarious site
She likes to think so . . . then what am I saying? Sure she does. She doesn't earn her keep, and we do everything for her! Yes, I think we're her slaves . . .
aaww thanks CJ!
sammy and chuckie may stop laughing at me now
Went to see Cirque's "Love" last year in vegas....one act wast octopus's garden...was unreal visually and orally
and with that.. I give Sammysmom my space in the chog and grab a blanket and pillow
Yes, I've been sent to that site before, meliae - some cute and hilarious pictures there! :)
yw...have way too many at this point
JC are you up very early or very late?
aurally?
Early, Lindrickway . . .
mad or what?!! lol
Went to bed as soon as I got home last night, very late.
night DR...
Gnight my crazy and entertaining babble friends..... thansk for the laughs
The boyfriend's alarm goes off much too early, so he can leave in time for work . . .
night Dr

We need separate bedrooms - at opposite ends of the house! :P JOKING!!!
hey, don't complain, at least he has a job!
it has been great fun chatting to you all, special thanks to Ruru my sexy buddy!!
very traumatic evening here
night lind, I won't be far behind
night lindi...so nice to see you again
night lindy.. great to see you
Hmpf . . . so only ruru's sexy? :/
oh dear, sam -- what's happened?
yeah...hmpffffff
True, Just1Mar, true - especially here, these days!
JC when we meet up I'll let you know then!! lol (0:
nini Lindi sleep well
And yes - what's the matter, sammysmom? :/
JC, as one of your friends said, too bad you're not straight, you're so sexy
*poof*
actually a good thing- my no@ grand daughter is going away to college tomorrow- she and her mother came over to see us since we won t be seeing her until thanksgiving
Awww, thank you sooo much, Jilli - you're too sweet! ;)
her mother is spastic- now wil have both kids in college- thus the empty nest- the kid is happy and considerably richer since her grampa and i and her uncle all gave her money without letting each other know-lol
lol jilli....the gay ones are always the dream guys of women...sexy...caring..understanding.. .
I know,mar, darnit
Sorry! :/
ditto, darnit
and good looking...
oh empty nest is bad at first but then you celebrate your new found freedom
well sexy is more important than good looking....sexy is a state of mind, an attitude!
I'm getting absolutely nowhere with this grid
my best friend in the whole world is a gay man, I love him so much!
i am soo grateful for my empty nest and pray that i will not have to fill it up again- i like my freedom and NEED it
lots of weird words Jilli I gave up with 43 to go will work on it more later
lucky you, mel
Sigh....this empty nester and her hubby will be letting our son and his wife come back to live here with us for about 10 months, give or take ....
I have 43 words too, mel, but have been too busy chatting and such
I have 6 weeks to get ready, mentally and, sigh, physically
Oh, mar! Howcum?
good luck mar-.... a whole new adjustment huh??
took like 2 minutes to redo my room when I moved out of my parents house at a young age
sure will be sammys
well Mar just make sure you lay down the ground rules and stick to them! you are not mom anymore, you dont clean up after cook for, or wait on them!
Oh good - see you've accepted the invite, Jilli. :)
sad, ruru -- when our son left we changd nothing -- it was all ready for his return at any time
every time one moves out we redo the room and one comes back...have to redo again...
well jilli, they really want to move to Van...their lease is up...and they figure that if they can save all the rent and laundry (hahah) money..they'll be able to move there by next summer with quite the cash stash
of course, JC!
we keep one for that reason jili
Jilli - if you move your cursor over the top part of your 'Updates' module, you can then press and hold down your left mouse button, and drag it over into the right side of your page, below your 'Connections'. Then it will be more out of the way - and your profile and comments will be higher, so your friends won't have to scroll down so far to reach them . . . ;)
absolutely 1000% Meliae!!!
mar, I hope they'll kick in someting for expenxes
Any others of you here have Yahoo! accounts?
JC, I'll have to copy and paste those instructions!
If so, you can connect with Jili and I, and some other Babblers on the profiles network.
for sure jilli,,, food, toiletries, and physically eg cleaning and shovelling snow, etc etc
ok pillow calling me...have a good day/night everyone
JC, I think all who have flickr photos in their profiles have Yahoo accounts
night cj
nini Cj sweet dreams
JC, is that Yahoo Messenger?
Yes, Jilli - that would be correct.
No, flosey - it's the profiles network.
Anyone with a Yahoo! account automatically has a profiel page they can fill in, and post their photo on. You can connect yours with those of your friends, then you can leave comments on one another's pages!
How would I invite you?
I'm not "thrilled" about it but hey, what is family for if not for helping out (temporarily!!!)
ok, tks, JC
Erm - a 'profile' page. My typing's flying over to France by now, I think . . .
Do you have a Yahoo! account, flosey?
I tried to post pictures in my profile but had to give up, wasn't working
thought I did
Which profile?
It works well on Yahoo! Profiles . . .
referring to pictures in Babble profile
flosey means the profile here in Babble
Flosey - send an e-mail to me at the address in my bio.
Yes, that has nothing to do with Yahoo! Profiles. ;)
ok will do JC
nite all
nini sammy
Oh no, flosey? I just realised I've deleted that account in my haste, due to stalkers! :/
I had better remove it from my bio! :P
stalkers?
As Jilli for my real e-mail address - she has it. ;)
Or if you know my first and last name, it's firstname.lastname - at - inbox.com
Yes, ruru - been quite a situation going on. :/
really? weird
It happens from time to time, sadly . . .
JC, I'll do that thing tomorrow -- half asleep now. Did you get my email sent on (I think) Monday to your "inbox.com" address
why?
Yes, I'll say it is! :/
Oh yes, Jilli - sorry, I've been so busy! :/
I knew you'd be busy, silly
ooo the battle of the bulls
whaaa?
Yes - and thank you fdor the compliment, Jilli! ;)
Erm, 'for'.
Thank flosey!
not that I don't agree...
nite guys.. heading to sleep
ok I need to sleep I just glanced at Mar's comment and thought she said battle of the 'balls' sheesh lol
nini ruru, sweet dreams =)
uh.. what a time to leave.
lol night you guys
night ruru -- have a good pillow-snuggle
night, ru!
or not?
he saw balls LOL
rbud -- yummy starfish ;)
I liked the pic when I saw it, silly dog!
good thing my icon shows only one bull kelp
nereisis
is bull kelp I think
dangerous stuff
not quite, ruru -- read my write-up
oh.. so oooo close
I know that kelp well
I see the real word is not included in morewords
ok I am really heading off now I need to get the bread in the oven and clean the kitchen. nini All
night melaie.. I should go too..bye all
night mel (what on earth is the time where you are?)
night you guys tc!
midnight but it has been so hot I cannot do my baking during the day
I finally can commiserate...it is stifling here too
I refuse to eat that stuff they call bread you get from the grocer
well, mel, I would just skip the baking altogether!
yeah ...you must have decent bakeries? wherever you are?
we get good bread of many varieties here
I bake 8-10 loaves at a time lasts me about a month since I freeze it all up
JC, still here?
it's so hot have no appetite, but did munch on a wonderful pumpernickel from a local bakery here
my grandparents owned a bakery as I was growing up, and I am spoiled lol
I wish I could find an old fahioned bakery, the grocery stores bakeries are just the same as the stuff on the shelves
We have such wonderful bread here in Montreal...all kinds from all nationalities
fireworks
I hear ya meliae...it's like eating hamburger buns..
same here -- where are you, mel?
YAY anike!!!
I foundone place that had good bread but it was around 4$ a loaf I cannot afford that when I can make my own for not much more
congrats anike
woohoo, anike!!!
Eugene Oregon
wow that's a lot mel...where are you exactly?
yay Anike grats
ohhh ok
well when it's way too hot to bake...treat yourself....I'm sure that heat doesn't last too long in Oregan?
TY. Have to go and ice a birthday cake for my husband so will return tomorrow. Bye for now.
when the ingrediants of the bread take half the wrapper to list them all, well that is not bread, it is a scientific experiment, LOL
Oh, same time zone as here -- and hot today, yes
bye Anike and tell your hubby we all said happy birthday =)
lol yeah, but that's grocery store bread....multi national food companies with all their preservatives and whatnot
we have local bakers here using all natural ingredients
ahh, I miss living like that, was a vegetarian and president of the natural food-buying club for over 6 years...
yes, the place down town does that but like I said the prices are outrageous
If it's any indication of the markets my kids went to in Van, jilli, than yeah I'm sure you have great products there!
I do not buy nor do I cook anything but natural when ever I can, I just cannot stand all those chemicals
It's a healthy way to eat, esp if you live where there is an abundance of natural products
I am lucky here in oregon we have a great variety of fresh produce meat herbs etc
I often wonder, tho, people who lived in the early to mid part of the 20th century, ate mostly natural foods...but they did not live nearly as long as we are now
had an old BF from back then come by and visit after I'd married and had kids, he looked in my fridge and said, "you know, I'd have given anything for some KoolAid sometimes back then, but ohhh, noo!" We both laughed.
they also did not have the knowledge we have now, about staying healthy, some of them lived on potatoes only for winter, not much meat or fresh vergetables fruits
hahahaha Rbud
well when they did that, it was only because that's all they had...
yes and no way to really keep foods fresh
and of course medical technology was nowhere near what it is now, but still, with all the sh*t that's out there, people are still living longer
I have also, as recommended, but not because of, have reduced my food intake by at least 30 or so per cent
not to mention just the physical trials they went through, just washing the clothes was an all day event, making soap from lye, all that hard work, they just plumb worked themselves to death
I still have my old healthy cookbooks, but just TRY to get Hubby to go without his meat and potatoes...sigh.
still here Jilli?
well rbud...as long as the portions are small and the veggies are abundant...
slowly reduce the portions of meat and add more veggies rbud
yes -- back now
just send you email jilli
I still love a wonderful grilled steak ala hubby on the bbq, but I now make 2 or 3 meals out of it, as opposed to one!
ok off to beat the heck out of the bread and get it in the loaf pans
yes, but I used to know all there was to know about proper combining of meatless proteins...how far I've fallen. :(
gl meliae...stay cool..
nite, mel, nice to meet you.
flosey -- I just replied
rbud...your "reknowledge" is just a couple of clicks away!
I still eat lots of things my family doesn't understand, haven't lost the taste for the veggie lifestyle. But could never get them to eat it, too.
that
I adore avocado and tomato sandwiches, for example. They all just say "yuck!"
that's too bad...do you make stir fry's? great way to enjoy and eat veggies...tender crisp
do they like garlic?
I'm a carnivore but enjoy lots of veggie things too and avocado and tomato sandwiches sound great
There isn't that much to know about it at all, rbud - we're simply not meant to have anything from animals, and our herbivorous physiology means our protein requirements are met quite adequately from plant proteins. :)
avocado is such a delicious and healthy veg
yes and no - kids won't eat onions, either, sigh.
our teeth tell us we are omnivores
Humans aren't carnivores, Jilli - that's why the saturated fats in all animal 'products' contribute to the plaque that forms in the arteries, clogging them. That never happens, to true carnivores or omnivores - they could eat a pound of butter a day, and not have that happen.
thanks jilli
sigh my son who considers himself somewhat of a gourmet...hates onions too! that is like an oxymoron
No, Jilli - chimpanzees are omnivores, and they have the same teeth as a carnivore, and the same short, smooth intestines - not long and pocketed, like those of any herbivore, and like ours.
our digestive tract is too long for meat, made a speech on that once in class - carnivores have short digestive tracts. meat stays in too long, causes colon problems.
Our teeth are like those of herbivores - look at a horse's teeth sometime - like ours, only larger.
Yes, rbud - and pocketed.
I'm a definate carnivore, but I do practice moderation
Meat leaves reside behind that collects in those pockets, and causes a lot of problems.
not going to argue
lol ...spackle??
MEAT is bad for you! "Keep watching this space, your life depends on it." http://www.juiceguy.com/Meat-to xic-substance-hard-to-digest.shtml
The Scientific Anatomy of Eating Scientific evidence and common sense reasons for what is obviously the only truly biologically appropriate diet for human consumption, creating and supporting optimal health and vitality. http://www.eatveg.com/anato my.htm
my son, who had to finally have surgery because of Crohn's disease, is now eating mostly vegetarian and his digestive problems have abated quite a bit
Not if you cant get protein any other way it isnt
Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine website - that talks about why only a 100% vegetarian (vegan) diet is appropriate for our species . . . http://www.pcrm.org/
I'm not surprised, Just1Mar - going from my own experiences.
Well, I believe we're meant to eat fruits, nuts, seeds, veggies, etc. - but meat would be a hard habit for society to break.
Crohn's is almost like ilitis but can occur anywhere in the digesttive system from stem (mouth) to stern (a**s) and in several places at the same time
When I had to lose weight we cut out meat - lost 50 lbs ina year
in these grids...I always get the word ceca or caeca because my son had to have most of his removed :(
Of course it is for a lot of people, rbud - they're addicted to the taste, and I think some of it's psychological, after being conditioned all one's life to believe it's necessary and good to consume. :/
also I have a fondness for dairy products, so find it hard to manage total vegetarianism.
i have ibs which is mainly caused by 1 granary type breads and 2 vegetable protein
I know it was causing me some health problems, though - which started clearing up rapidly, after eliminating it.
wow flosie...
my mom has that, too, Kazz - no corn, seeds, nuts - she eats tomatoes but scrapes the seeds out carefully...
It's also the ethical/moral issue now, for me. I have pet chickens and realise how intelligent they are - and all animals are feeling, sentient beings, with a right to exist also. If we needed to eat them, that would be one thing - but we clearly don't, so why do it? :/
Especially when it's only harmful to our health . . .
the other day tho, we made tilapia fillets marinated in a simple olive oil, garlic parsley, lemon...it was so incredible ...had never made it before
I have a pet corn stalk ... a very smart plant
ahhhhhhh, BR, but they have a very short life span
I need lots of them
but the seeds and surroundings of tomatoes is the healthiest part...
Does it do tricks, BR?
Babble's back! missed you...
other side of the ethical issue is that if we didnt eat them, most of them wouldnt exist. And we are lucky here that i only buy stuff that is free range and organic
just how much arable land is there in antarctia?
BabRab get's his pot boiling before he removes that corn from the stalk...as most corn afficienados do!
hello, Kate
ok, I'm off to bed, goodnight all, be back in the morning
nite flosey

make good stone soup, no doubt vegetarian appropriate, lol
This is the 231st day of the year, with 134 days remaining in 2009.
don't you protect it and keep it warm and dry?
and so we enter a new decade?
free range rock?
not a very large range, lol!
sigh ..persona non grata will now desist from asking or talking
AS a Brit child I played Stone Paper Scissors. Now the US kids say Rock Paper Scissors. To me, a stone is something small enough to hold in your hand, and a rock is big enough to sit on.
png?? please do continue
Yes, Jilli - that's what I've always thought!
We have to be bilingual
It is now Scissor, Paper, Rock, Dynomite
Oh, OK flosey - sorry, was out of the room for a bit, and just scrolled down and saw your note.
no personae non grata around here, mar
Hmmm, Just1Mar? :/ 'Persona non grata'?
Lol, mrp (I hope)

Is that so, Just? OK - now you have me trying to guess them, if my monkeys will only co-operate! :P

no you don't, JC -- not from what I've seen -- and there's that quote "keep it clean"
ok ok ok... what is the useless bit of skin around the penis called?
Oh I do, Jilli - depends on the setting. ;)
poor Kate -- moth full of choclit

No wonder people laugh at me, when they see me - I'm a man! :P

Ooh, sounds like my kind of show . . .

I don't get either -- don't watch much TV -- too busy babbling
and HBO Canada shows all the HBO US shows at the same time same night
Goodness, isn't Jilli mean - swatting me like that? :/
oh well too bad..lots of stuff worth watching
I might consider it though because of Bill Maher
think i'll have a sausage on a bun
just trying to keep you in line, JC
Oh he is so fantastic jilli, I watch every week
JC it's actually about a straight guy but he's hung and he's marketing it!
The only sort I want, TraderKate is live, still attached, and pleased to see me.
Now I'd better hide, HAHAHA!
he was on tonight with Rachel Maddox (MSNBC) -- I love her
I mean Bill Maher was, not the hung guy
we all want the same thing jc<wink>
lol and I don't get MSNBC..I could choose it but I never have
Oh goodness, Just1Mar - think we'd need every fan going in here, if I saw that programme!
lol I knew what you meant jilli
it's worth it, mar
well it's not a visual as you might want it to be jc...it's more the intimation
I love Bill Maher!
Oh I see, Just . . .
or I should say SHE's worth it -- such cutting wit
if visual is what you want watch oz...very good show
We have a thing here called 30/30 30 extra stations for 30$ ...you can change one for another anytime you want so, I'll check that out

That's when the topic veers off into another, Jilli. Didn't you know that?! :P
*Winks!* ;)

Pink ones!
A Canadian, a Scotsman, and an Australian are in a bar discussing the mental abilities of their wives. The Canadian says, "You know my wife must be the most stupid woman in the world. She went to a supermarket sale and bought $900 worth of meat, and we don't even have a freezer!
Maddow, definitely
mr. president please honour us with your wit
k thx for the clarification
The Scotsman says, "That's nothing! My wife went out last week and bought a brand new $30,000 car, and she can't even drive!
Not to be out done, the Aussie says, "My wife is a lot dumber than that! Last week she left for a two week holiday in Paris and I saw her pack 20 condoms! Hell, she doesn't even have a penis!"
heheh mrP...that could be a Newfie joke! :)
HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't tell jokes like that while I'm drinking tea! :P
don't drink t when she's regaling us bJC silly goose
no, mar, formerly Star Choice, now Shaw Direct (what a boring name)
Megagiggle, mrp!
Cardiologist's Funeral: A rich, well-loved cardiologist lived a long and prosperous life, but, finally passed away as we all tend to do. Being the all-around nice guy that he was, his many friends and co-workers gave him a spectacular funeral. As they all stood and watched, his mahogany coffin slid along tracks into the crematory doors. Encircling the crematory doors was a massive ornate heart, made of roses and carnations, to signify all the hearts he had touched, literally and figuratively. Suddenly, one of the doctor's best friends began to laugh hysterically. Quite angry at the outburst, everyone turned to glare at him. "I'm sorry," he said. "I was just thinking: I'm a gynecologist, so what's my funeral gonna be like?" The proctologist gasped and fainted.
Wish I could get shaw here jilli
Gasp too!
I think I'll have to reread that tomorrow...lol
Ewwww !!
Toronto has some very racist (but very funny) Paki jokes floating around...(blush)
Love it, JC! - borrowing it for elsewhere, if you don't mind...
go Mar!
really MrP??
Fact: Toronto and vicinity has a very large Pakistani population
copy paste in e-mail as fast as i can thanks JC a lot of people i know will like that one
Brilliant J.C.Thankyou for the great start to my day.
Back in the day when Brian Malroony was Prime Minister of Canada....Pakistan and India went to war.....The Indians crushed the Pakistanis....Great Britain pledged manpower to help sort out the carnage....The USofA pledged all the money needed to rebuild and repair....and Brian Muldoon of Canada.....pledged 500,000 pakis to be repatriated to build up the population
Oh, you are very welcome, macadam . . . :)
And certainly, rbud - share the mirth! ;)
I have another one - an Irish joke. It's a little naughty, fut funny . . .
Go for it J.C.
A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, "I almost had an affair with another woman." The priest said, "What do you mean, almost?" The Irishman said, "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped." The priest said, "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in. You're not to see that woman again. For your penance, say five Hail Marys and put £50 in the poor box. The Irishman left the confessional, said his prayers, and then walked over to the poor box. He paused for a moment and then started to leave. The priest, who was watching, quickly ran over to him saying, "I saw that. You didn't put any money in the poor box!" The Irishman replied, "Yeah, but I rubbed a £50 note on the box, and according to you, that's the same as putting it in!"
oh Mar! LOL!!
SaddySolar is a babbler from Pakistan...
LOL J.C.!!
LOL, JC!
Thought you might enjoy that! ;)
I hate to leave this hiarity but my eyes are closing and I must go to bed laughing!
And I'm exactly halfway
A Pakistani man walks to the bustop on a Toronto street to wait for the bus. As he's waiting, a Great Dane comes along and leaves a steaming pile of shit on the right side of the Paki....a few minutes later another Great Dane comes along and leaves a steaming pile of shit of the left side of the paki....soon the bus comes along and stops....the Paki asks the busdriver how much the fare is... The bus driver looks at the Paki, then looks at the 2 steaming piles of shit and says....2 dollars for you and 50 cents for each of your kids
;) love it JC
ouch
UGH! What an insult to Great Danes!
very cute JC
Oh please Jilli...change that to a German Shephard
Shepherd...
I mean, GDs shit rose petals
sigh...
Bedtime!!! *poof*
I only acquiesed to MrP's request
The problem is that God gave man a brain and a penis... but only enough blood to run one at a time.
lol ...like having a 100 amp main instead of a 200 amp
Check your e-mail, Jilli . . .
Oh, you've left? :/
most often tho...where exactly is that brain located?
LOL Mar!! too wrong!
Oh is that so, mrp? :P
Erm, well . . . in the smaller 'head'. :/
Yes it is so J.C.!! :B
HAHAHA! Naturally I know this - I'm a man, even if I am a fairy. :P
yes and the smaller head can only accomodate
a smaller brain
Oh yes, my brain is tiny . . .
I love men...I'm just kidding you guys...and also..I'm NOT a predjudicail person....if you live and let live..then I love you
LOL J.C.!! go boy!
:P
i have to cook food for the beasties... see you all soon!
but if we can;t make fun of ourselves..the all is lost
then*
See you later, mrp . . . or on Yahoo, perhaps?
Found you there - in your pink pyjamas.
and with that I shall bid you all adieu...bon apetit MrP...and happy babbling evy1
can anyone clue the 2nd ca7/32 and the ca9/60?
wow racism in the chat today.... interesting
wish I could mama2...don't have them. gone fixing victuals
no problem Trader...gave up on them for a bit...working on finishing the "S's"
Is there a function to complain or what? Cos I found that really offensive...
sparklygem, I haven't read back in chat so don't know what the problem is. However, e-mail Dr-God with your complaint and if he feels it's justified, he can e-mail whoever has caused offence.
thanks Haz! Just shocked me a little that's all I guess.
Well, if you feel strongly, then do what you feel you want to. No guarantees that Dr-God will agree with you, but sometimes you just need to let your voice be heard.
do you really feel getting a moderator involved is the answer? it may have been a little off colour, but surely the reasonable response is to speak out here first. if you feel you must take it further then do so. it seems a little extreme...surely this can be dealt with in house? dr god is probably busy with the universe and everything...
Morning all Been out and done all my errands before the day gets too hot.
Good morning FM. No chance of it getting too hot here.
We're having what we call a 'soft' day.
oh is it going to be grotty there Haz, we are due about 30 today by all accounts and I have to say it is warm already.
Our sunshine is of the liquid variety today.
Ak back in a mo just spotted a misse call on the phone (client calling).
See you shortly.
TraderKate: I did speak out here first. I haven't yet sent an email to dr god and I'm not 100% sure I will because it will probably be a waste of time. My sister is maried to a pakistani man, they have children - the "joke" was completely offensive and unnecessary. It would not be tolerated at all on many websites and I guess I was a little shocked to read something like that on here.
Back Did a load of work last might and she just wanted to run tough a couple of changes.
Anyway, let's just move on from it. Lots of people found it amusing, I guess that sort of thing is acceptable in some countries. End of.
The client is always right - just ask Liz sa4/8.
sparkly, have to agree with you, I saw the post and was somewhat surprised as it is the first time I have seen something like that here.
HI all. I was surprised to read that here, too.
Hey Jacs!!! How are you?
I haven't seen it, don't think I'm going to, but if you want to suggest that a line be drawn, then do it.
Hello Jacula!
Hi FM - planning to get lots of gardening done while I still can.
Hi all saw something cute Know how to keep your husband from reading your email? Rename the email folder "Instruction Manuals".
I also found it offensive. Hello all
Hello Haz.
Hi lynxxx.
lol I tough of Liz too when entering the sa4/8 (and pl)
I think that's the best bet. I hate confrontation anyway, especially on the internet where everything seems to be magnified anyway. Thanks for the words of support though, I thought I was going mad.
Dianne - LOL! How true.
Good evening lynxxx, Dianne.
Back to the grid!
ha ha Dianne, funny!
Hello lynxxx
I bought a card yesterday - A man on the phone gazing at a computer screen saying 'Press any key' - he's asking 'Where's the any key?' My husband to a T.
I'm enjoying this grid so far; got 124 words in about 20 mins.
Haz - LOL.
It's not too bad today LOL Haz! Remind me of many help desk jokes.
Problem is that I'm the help desk!
*grin*
:-D
But he wants to know WHY I've done something - I don't know why myself, I just know that it works.
So, is the sun shining with you, Jacula?
Yes, Haz.
I'm pleased for you. (detect any bitterness?)
Not at all, Haz. *winces*
Come and visit Haz it is going to be lovely this week.
It's just drippy here.
Don't come on Sunday - thunderstorms predicted for then.
Jacula, did you hear about the world record set on the log yesterday?
Oh yes! that was so funny ... sat and watched the log with baited breath.
Hello. I so miss you people
No, Haz. What was that?
A team effort - they said it couldn't be done, but the men achieved a full page of blue heads talking, the women kept quiet for 12 minutes plus.
Hi Herin.
Hi herin
LOL! Very good.
Hello herin.
HIIIIIIIIIII. I so miss you lot. Silly schoool work
any clues for the second ca7/32 and the ca9/60?
Hugs.
It was great. They weren't sure what to talk about but achieved a stunning result.
Considering how few guys babble and chat it really was an achievement.
I bet you were all on the Babble expert chat instead. Does that still exist?
But you are doing so well herin, all that hard work is going to pay off in the end.
FM - It was indeed.
It was the rare appearance of the lesser spotted Dachef that set the wheels in motion. And once EvaNadine put up some racy pictures they got talking!
I am watching worlds strictchest parents> some of the parents should have done one of 2 thinks: Boot the kids out of home and get counsellor.
No, Jacula, it was on the proper log. Someone was going to take a screenshot to verify.
LOL oh yes the 'chicks on Harleys' sure got the guys thinking
and I missed it Haz? What time was this amazement
Haz - No, I meant the women were chatting on the Expert chat while the men were on here.
Let me check.
got the 9
mama2maddie - can't help. Haven't got those yet.
10.25 babble time (British afternoon)
fireworks!
Congrats mama2
I sat on my hands, Jac, I don't know what the rest of them were doing. I don't know whether the chat function still exists on expert.
YAH Mama. I saw that Can I say well done. I thought we scared off the boys
ty
Congratulations mama!
Well done mama2.
thanks everyone
BRB - need more tea.
I need to do my homework
Whats the topic herin?
Commercial Law
First eat and babble chat then homework
Good luck!!
Rules for making adverts?
Where's LoriP? I have a new watergun loaded and ready to test out :)
Haz rules to run a business. It did make more sense drinking vodka. Thanks FM
lol Haz
And good call Haz
***You rang?*** G'd morning Babblers!
Hello Lori.
***sploooooosh**
I'm just thinking of the rules advertisers seem to follow nowadays. 1. Don't give any clue what the advert is about. 2. Make men look as foolish as possible. 3. Make it appear that life will be enhanced beyond your wildest dreams if you buy their product.
((Lori))
Can we interest anyone in a set of waterproofs and an umbrella?
Good morning Lori.
Yes please, Haz. LOl re the ad rules, too.
Too late for that no Haz. :/ ***grabs a towel and hugs FM anyway!***
And if you reverse the make women foolish then its sexist.
If it's in an advertisement, it must be true.
Exactly.
Hi hun good to see you (even when wet) *grin*
And the anti-ageing creams with funny names. If it's chemical it must be amazing.
***Revenge is like water cannons, best served cold.***
oh and what about the DIY botox kits - would you inject yourself in the name of beauty?
Oooh, I love the wrinkle cream ads. They're my fave. Fountain of Youth , surgery fre....blah blah blah
*free even
And the 'keep your innards clean' - Bifidis Regularis. They make it up as they go along.
Glad to see your typing skills are still on the same par as mine Lori
and dont forget those fantastic loose (lose) weight now pills
On the one hand we're advised to stay away from procesed foods and anything with chemicals in it, and on the other to rub chemicals into our skin and hair. (Have you ever read the ingredients list on a shampoo bottle?)
*processed
It's the fact that they advertise wrinkle cream on 16 year olds that gets me.
FM, I may get more winkles, and become irregular, but my typing will never change....
I'm pretty sure enable wouldn't accept the half of them, Jac.
irregular Lori? - try prunes :)
: P
I always remember the look of disappointment on my girls' faces when I binned those Reader's Digest offers of untold riches if I only sent back the envelope.
I love how they advertise Olay in a certain light so the model looks really old
oh and winkles? am presuming you meant wrinkles but then again .....
Always women seem to be the target of wrinkle ads. Praying on fears is a great way to sell stuff. I've earned my wrinkles, and I'm keeping them!
now staedy on herin, some of us are getting old!
NO i mean in the fact these woman are in their 40's and they shine the light in a certain way so their skin looks so badly sun damaged
***haps FM upside her head with a water balloon***
Yes, some of us have passed the half-century mark.
and there goes my typing skills - I just get so over excited and type too fast for the keyboard to cope with
***The woman who typed "staedy" mocks me???????? ***
Poor Kate Moss was caught in unflattering light the other day - she looked older than her years, shall we say.
Don't forget in Aus sun damage is a big thing.
Questionable use of question marks there, but we may let it pass.
I do indeed mock you as I have to get my laughs somewhere, although I am aware that I am usually the butt for much hilarity.
good morning all
We're less aware of sun damage here and consequently have bad rates for skin cancer.
I felt it necessary Haz. She's just askin' for it. Poking and needling me!
Good morning Wolvie.
Mornin' Wolvie.
Hi Wolvie
People laugh at you, FM? Surely not, I'd have noticed.
Hi Wolvie.
Morning Wolvie.
yeah right Haz!
Oh I do like a smile in the morning. It gets the wrinkles stretched ready for the day ahead.
jeez louise, waking up to a conversation on age - le sigh, and lol
nothing like a winkle in the morning to get you smiling.
Phone.
don't stop chatting just because I showed up! ;-)
: )
not like I need any help in the age dept - i went past the 50 year mark this year. BIG le sigh
Husband's new glasses are ready. I'd better slather on more wrinkle cream.
LOL Haz.
:-)
Think he'll notice now? He is a man after all.
I'm sure the rose ti4 you insisted he have put in them will keep him sweet on you, Haz. *ducks*
No way Wolvie - Im going to achieve that age next month and cant wait - don't see it as a prob at all.
hehehe Haz. I am sure you look fine as you are. I think we need to celebrate real people for who they are not for the airbrushed variety we see
He assures me that in proper light (extremely dim), I look quite good for my age.
FM - it's cool - my wrinkles don't show except on really bad mornings -say when I have over indulged the nite before. lol
Joking, honestly!
I'm 52 and my Other Half only wears his specs for driving.
One day a housework challenged husband decided to wash his sweat-shirt. He shouts to his wife, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?"
Give me a wrinkled Judi Dench over some of the plastic Hollywood horrors any day of the week.
Hear, hear Haz!
HAve been blessed with good genes so not to many wrinkles here but one day I am sure they will catch up with me, although looking at my Mum at 80 she still looks good.
I think she's beautiful - there's character in her face, not silicone.
Affirmative on the non-wrinkled FM front.
I don't have many wrinkles either, just a few laugh lines - odd really, but there it is. On over indulgence days, I have bags for about an hour, then they go away. :-0
Same here, M, except that my Mum's 75.
Meant FM.
However it has to be said that in some ares I am turning into my Mum, hand jestures and phrases. Guess we can't escape some things.
Ditto again, FM.
It's true. Sometimes I look at my hands and I'm holding them the way she did.
Good morning all. Just looked at the grid. AAAAACK!
lol Jacs
hi Eva
Good morning Eva.
Hi Eva.
huh - I haven't picked up any of my Mom's habits. Odd
Hello Eva, it's not so bad.
G'd morning Ehva
Wolvie, you may be more like your father. I'm like my father in looks but have my mother's characteristics in many ways.
She was the one who started writing 'Advanced embroidery'. I've been carrying on the good work ever since.
that works Haz, I am a lot like him. My looks are an honest TG 50/50 - worked out well, if I do say so myself. :-)
Good for you!
embroidery? My Mom used to do that, but quit years ago - I really love the look
Ok this is weird I have a role reversal going on here
I don't think I would have wanted to look a lot like my Dad, lol. He had lots of wrinkles!!
What a fibber! Hi Lori, Wolvie, Eva
hello Infernal
hi lynxx :-)
It's a bit of a joke, Wolvie. I loathe sewing with a passion, and 'Advanced Embroidery', written by me, would be a very short book indeed.
HI Lynxx
oh - LOL - I don't know you all very well yet - no history. :-)
Lynx! G'd mornin'.
Stick around, Wolvie, you'll learn our little ways.
:-)
Ok I have madam snob kitty on my shoulder and mr sociable non existant
why oh why do people inflict a words on me?
I think Wolvie is addicted so she will learn our ways and idiosyncrasies.
grid really, not people
I'm getting there FM

POUNCE
yes =- the paper delivery?
hi fern
I can't for the life of me figure out how she made that character right before the B. It's not an I, and nothing on my keyboard looks like that....
sorry for the typos
Good morning, Babbleonians!
POUNCE BACK, you goddess!
hi judi
Not really here should be doing my assignment
morning mizz judi!
Looks like some sort spacer doesn't it? Odd.
grins Trifs. Hi Judi
Beach day for me!
which beach judi?
SOmeone want to do my COmmercial law assignment
bethany?
We're going to Lewes and then taking the ferry to Cape May, Trif. Hubby's belated birthday outing.
hmmmm. definitely not me, herin, unless you are looking to be expelled
excellent. have a blast! I think I am going to chuck the kiddos in the sea myself. We just discovered a new beach a couple of towns away, and it was GAWGEOUS. Other than the parking ticket I received, of course....
ok can someone replace my brain then ta
Sounds great, Trif. Mmm. We got a parking ticket in Rehoboth once. Then again, who hasn't. It's like a right of passage.
couple of towns from Norwell, Mass? do tell. :-)
Judi i will settle for a holiday to
i love august....when the sea around here finally gets palatable. mind you, I am from here, and to us an "acceptable" swimming day is anything where the water is over 50 degrees.
clue for tr 5/12 please?
wolvie, it's so great! It's in Marshfield, and it's called Burke's Beach, in Green Harbor. You would NEVER know it's there, unless you know it's there....it's at the end of Ocean street, across from the Green Harbor Lobster Pound.
not the tie up one
There is a little teeny path that leads to it, and then it's HEAVEN
and now EVERYONE knows about it :-)
hah! I will look for next time I am up in that area
I don't mind if everyone does! I am happy to share.
just us babblers, jean. and hello. :-0
The ocean is for all
hya and just teasing
Ah yes, New England has much cooler water temps than us. I predict the mid-atlantic will be about 72-74 degrees today. The air temp will be about 90, though. Uhg.
I think if you park behind the Lobster Pound you will be okay, but I am not sure. And I know you were just teasing, esprit!
Indeed, Judi. Do they call them "heart attack tides" near you?
clue for the non tie up tr 5/12anyone?
hello everyone! I love New England beaches. They have a wild quality about them.
bay i just got booted. And I must finish this assignment the teacher has faith in me and allowed a weeks extension
not me, wolvie, sorry dear one!
lol, Trif. No. Never heard that expression. We do have rip tides, horseshoe crabs and jellyfish, though.
hi annie
hi wolvie
herin - please go do your work. We all love you, and want you to do well. (and I used my "mother of three voice" to type that)
mornin babblers!
hi eva
Looks like hubby is almost ready. Off I go! XXOO!
hello evan
Nearly done. So off I go. I need the net to look up legal Acts other wise i wouldn't be stuck on the net
bye judi
byyyyye
Happy Birthday toMr. Judi!!!!!
Judi, it is used on days when the air is REALLY hot, but the water is still cold. Old fat guys get overheated, and then run into the water, dive in and always manage to shock their system into arrest. It's such a bummer. it's a COMMON expression around here, and yet in they go. They just never learn.

*offers yummy farmers-market watermelon and cantaloupe fruit salad to all in the chog*
that was hardly worth saying twice! sorry y'all
fireworks
huzzah for wolvie! well done!!!
YAY for wolvie!!!!
trif - I remember the term from when I lived there - use to wish it upon some beach goers at old orchard beach in maine, if you get my drift. lol
OOB!!!! oh, thank you for reminding me, wolvie...such a lovely place!
some of those men wore thongs that were.., well lets just say TMI, and not in a good way.
we used to say "grape smugglers" though I think the Ozzie call them "budgie smugglers", which is inherently way funnier
I mean, it made plumber butt crack appealing!!
really, is any man wearin a thongs *not* TMI?
ugh. add in a hairy back and you have a real visual treat
oh, I've seen some that just look yummy. ;-)
ar 8?
TMI?
too much information
butt and not day lynn
too much info annie
wow, serious chat log there.....
thanks for the TMI
good clue wolvie
though really, in the end, men who are beautifully fit and toned and spend their days preening and posing around the beach are just as annoying, to me.
wolvie bows head and says to herself in a small voice - finally! I am learning to clue. :-0
Lol wolvie
oh I agree if they are doing that, trif - but I have seen a few that aren't, and those I enjoy
banana hammocks
whooo - can you feel the excitement mounting? today is the day to register online for Norwell recreation programs. Two minutes to go - all over Norwell, right now, moms are poised over their keyboards, ready to duke it out.
LOL jean
go trif go!
hi, Trif and hi babblers
hi jbv
hi jbv
hah, every time i hear that term, i think of the episode of Friends where Phoebe decided to change her name to "Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock"
trif, you brought back memories - I moved to a new community when my son was 3 and went to sign him up for Pre-K - ...
agreed, wolvie. sometimes the beach scenery is a lovely, lovely thing. I often admire women who are rocking a two piece, even if all is not exactly perfect. the confidence!!! wish I had it.
i had no idea there were people there sitting in lawn chairs since 5 a.m. !! I had no clue! needless to say, he had to go on a waiting list
I hear you trif - used to be, but no more. ;-)
whoops - 9 am !!! brb
phoebe was priceless. :-)
hints for the right-side U?
latin bear, Eva
still need one more from that u
sounds like a t word for end product so to speak, jbv, plural - ur 4/6
....and I am done! field hockey, yoga x 2, and an art class. sing it with me...."I am mommy, hear me roar...."
got it, thanks, wolvie
wtg trif!!
yay, Trif!
wish primo could take the art class too, but Tuesday night is his night with the father, so no go. bummer.
TY JBV -- i miss that every time
I'm sure you will find him something else trif
any clues before I head out?
well, he has two art classes at school this year, so that ought to do most of it.
cool. :-)
good lawd, I just got the u clue wolvie. ewww, but excellent!
lol
i do like to joke around, lol
evanadine, it's funny how there are some words we always forget, isn't it? Myself, I somehow always miss the se4 that means more than one big blue body of water, which is just pathetic, given where I live. but I miss it, every time....
just got the ur clue too, thanks wolvie, funny
opening line to the book i just began this morning: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!!!
what book is that???? Primo would be ALL OVER IT
okay - what book is that? I am going to the library this morning - not kidding
thats the one, Uni!
Uni!!!
hi uni
trif, though it is a quite strange word and a babblet, i always miss "unai" -- and i shouldnt, since it is my nephews middle name!
My bookstore service has taught me something ;) - How are you liking it? The bits I have read were fantastic. Now they are doing Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. There are ads on YouTube.
Hello Annie, et al!
how unusual, eva!
ive only read a few chapters, but im tickled with it. i saw the youtube ad! looks funny!
The book is going on my reading list
trif -- "unai" is a basque name. my sister-in-laws parents are from the basque region of spain. so the nephew has an english first name (our parents are from london), a basque middle name, and a french last name!
ick, I am going to need to run soon. the Norwell Public Library is having a pet show today, whereby children can bring in their pets. Secondo and Tertiare are bringing Primo's two kittens -- and one of our chickens! The best part was, you had to write on the entry form what was "unusual" about your pet. Tertiare said "it's a chicken!" LOL
Excellent Eva! Way to work the EU!!!!
Seth Graham Smith or something like that is the author. I finally bought World War Z last evening and am looking forward to reading that sometime..right now I am reading Bonk (Mary Roach) which is about the science behind sex. She is hilarious...
Have to find the chicken diaper....it's around here someplace
Uni -- if i still like this book when im done, i may have to look into his non-Austen works
hi all
hi all
morning boo!
hello boo
also, there is a similarly styled book called "Mr. Darcy, Vampyre" by Amanda Grange
It does resemble p&P, but I don't recognize the opening
oooh, just checked - "bonk" is at the library! must check that out!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of a fortune must be in want of a wife - is close the original.
did everyone disappear?
that is the LEAST true thing I think I have ever read, uni!
Bonk is fantastic. I have been laughing out loud repeatedly as she tells about her research. I have Stiff on order (her other book about cadavers).
well, maybe if you slide in "trophy" before wife....
ahh, Uni i finally figured out why that name seems familiar -- i read her book Stiff
oh duh - ty uni that's the title. My bad
What did you think of Stiff? (awkward question)
well, as it would appear i am chatting to myself, I am off = see everyone tomorrow
wolvie - just moved the towels from the washer to the dryer, and was reminded of the one tricky thing about burke's beach
the sand is powdery fine, and got on everything. A bit on the troublesome side, that
I don't think you are, Wolvie...either you aren't getting our chat or we are not chatty enough?
wait, no, i read Spook. i read it a while ago, so i dont remember it too clearly, but i think i liked it. i kept picking up Stiff to see if it was something i wanted to read...
i just saw a bunch of chat posts load at once - must have been some snag
that was weird
any clues before I go?
that happened to me about 20 minutes ago, wolvie
I still only have the one U word wolvie - any help there, please?
None for me, thanks. My chat is loading a little slow as well, but each post is coming in (I think). Annie disappeared though!
bears, trif - ur 4, ur 5
whoops = never mind. found the bears. EXCELLENT psychic cluing, wolvie!
*coming up from the bottom of the grid* Uni, I love, love Babble Expert.
and the singleton is us 4 - what you do with something
:-) okay all - see everyone tomorrow - ttfn!
thank you!
I'm so pleased, Annie!!! It can make babbling a lot faster, although it might not keep your mind quite as sharp :)
bye till tomorrow, wolvie
take care, Wolvie
Uni, It is so easier to get to Morewords..I have to keep myself in check not to depend on it. So far I am disciplined enough..
*scratch so
hi all
hi jmc
I loooove morewords. I try not to use it until I feel as thoguh I can not possibly get any more words on my own (preferably less than thirty on the big ones). I find seeing the list next to the grid sparks some recognition for me occasionally
That is what I wanted all along..the list next to the grid and NOW I HAVE IT. Sorry for shouting but the excitement was too much.
uni, I agree about more words, but somehow it still always makes me feel like I am cheating...
but I am so glad it is there....
but you can have the list next to the grid by using two windows
Trif, I used Morewords as a last resort.
I felt like that for the first year or two...then I relized that as long as I am still enjoying myself, it is fine. I haven't finished a grid in a month or two, because it was starting to feel like work again.
morning jmc!
hi trif
JMC - they are next to each other with two windows, but they then lack the handy bar which enters words in both at once ;)
congrates on your supreme mothering
jm c, you are making me laugh. Dont you know that I am a computer genius? Big Joke.
?????????
uni, I am so glad that I gave up babble for Lent, as it broke me from the "i have to finiiiiiiish" addiction. Now I babble for the joy of it. Mind you, the other night I fell asleep with 3 to go, and that was a bummer....
I gave up babble last summer and I did it again this summer - the one time of the year when I have the most free time, ironically.
I was pretty compulsive for a while but I broke the habit when a babbler who will remain nameless said she was upset by the scores. . .
it's the reverse for me - summer is my busy, busy time
it's the reverse for me - summer is my busy, busy time
I dont feel compelled to finish each grid..then it is not fun. But I do look forward to Babbling and having my breakfast coffee together.
I said I wasn't and she asked how not to be disturbed by them
because you were doing well, jmc, or not well enough, by her standards?
I said don't look at them and she was shocked at the idea
oh, I see.
well we will see what happens on this silly sabbatical
My internet also has a fit once every few months and won't load babble because it is too much for it. Then I give it up by necessity and move on until I can play again.
I have no idea how I am doing -- the only score that bothered me was when sprite went down three points since that meant something was not going well for her
I do remember some fluff about a week or so ago, when Sprite was surpassed on some standing list somewhere....
I missed chatting, that is for sure.
the chatting is the best part for me
I rarely check the scores.
but it does drive some babblers mad, doesn't it? :)
Loading the chat is a lot harder than the grid when your net is iffy. Until recently I had almost given up on chat. Most of the older members I met years ago don't chat anymore :(
I was thrilled when I was at the Meeting House on inaugural day and and watching the ceremonies with all the babblers who changed their icon flags to U.S. for the day
too bad uni
I do wish we had some "secret window" capacity though, so we could just say "oh, what the hell is the nine already?" and someone could just send it without everyone seeing
the people do seem to run in and out some
Whoa, sprite isn't on top of the first column anymore. Obviously I check the stats a lot
that was the point I was making uni -- it made me worry about her
I go that through google talk with lori occasionally, trif. although she just usually gives me a dumbed down clue and laughs.
there is always someone who will sit through a word with you
kje ground one out with me a few weeks ago and Jac spelled one out for me although she hates cluing that way
whoops - just looked at the time!! (another babble danger!) gotta leave the sh6 and get the pets ready.
bye all!
but she saw I was trying and struggling so she helped
bye trif
Bye Trif
speaking of hints, how about one for the A directly beneath the C?
I very rarely ask for clues, I prefer to scavenge them from chat. I go through earlier chat sometimes if I really need one.
I have done that too

a little better thanks... I think he is the only one who slept last night
I am working at home later to keep an eye on him
sorry to hear that DR. I slept "okay" but the excedrin for the migraine kept me awake WAY too long and the restless. So today will avoid all caffeine unless it gets really really bad
I can nap today as needed, I think.
I have done that with the excedrin before Stid.. I am hopeful you will be better today
Stick to your guns and do not go anywhere
thansk DR. *putting "big bertha" on lap*
Jacob went off to the water park on about 5 hours of sleep .. He will be exhausted when he gets home this afternoon

He is with school /camp... on a bus .. tomorrow he is going with a friend for a birthday party... What a life!
I have the ear drops handy.. : )
gee. I can't imagine all that activity. I just want to sit in one place, and be able to put away all the things we moved out of the house to make way for our houseguest.
I know- it is too much for me but he has certainly had a good summer.. school starts after Labor day
It sounded like you enjoyed your guest
our kids in the local area go back Sept 9. Seems really late to me.
we did, DR. He was a good guest, and the adolescent obstinance didn't really show up until the last few days. But I can handle that...
yes, last year started before Labor day... probably budget cuts
Heyas kids ..
hey tor!
Hey Torg!
hey ya torg - hey stid - hey dr
RENNIE !!
clue for ca 9 pls
They seem to start late on the assumption that it means more parents will have their kids to school on time. BUT -- I think if they start earlier then there are some built-in snow days and we don't go until nearly JULY before we get out of school. School days "count" even when the students aren't ALL at their desks. And eventually parents will know that school starts earlier.
hey again ren, boo... ca 9? really? *faints*

let me google, I am curious now :)
wow, quite a few subclasses too. Interesting!
a pedant's paradise
lots of words for babble grids
if beweep is one, I think entear should be one too
just can't win arguing with Enable
yeah. So why can't I stop trying :D
because you make sense and Enable makes frustration
hehehe I like that explanation
Is teaset as in cups and saucers etc, not a word?
of course it is. One that enable doesn't know.
two words
you are in the grid today, btw!
hmmm ok ty babblerabble
I notice sprite - comes up quite often
Did you mean: define: tea set No definitions were found for teaset.
lol
i suppose you right br - two words - but i definitely say it as one word
yay, first 9 down.
period of time when my bottom takes its rest

Wow.
Saw "In the the Loop" this weekend -- highly recommend!

no, a lariat

ar; ca; ta; te
ca7: ca + Lovely **** Meter Maid + plural letter
make it plural for ca9
ta and te are similar, both end in the loch monster. ta is the state of being lovely to eat, te is the state of being a pain in the ass.

Ah Just got it!
if you mean the ca5/14, end in you and me
Norma: female hormone
Bit of an aside: it just occurred to me that my students likely have never and will never use a travel agent. Weird.
why is that, Takuma?
Thanks sprite x
They just use online travel sites
Many friends my age have never used a travel agent.
times are achanging :) I explained to my daughter today what a vinyl record is.
heh -- it has to be hard to make vinyl records sound like reasonable things to use
indeed, lol. The generation abyss
hope you and Terra are better today
I suspect many of my students don't understand airplane food jokes, because it's been awhile since airplanes served meals here
sprite, a further clue for the ca5/14 plz
a senior partner had me do a memo on how a fax machine can get paper from one point to another
Terra was again a lot better today, BabbleRabble! I think the virus has been truly beaten now. As far as the hips, we will not know for a while. But I think he is not in pain right now, so things are improving.
movie: ca + consonant + the both of ** (you and me)
Hello briefly before I go over to my neighbours' and feed their cat
lol BabbleRabble, I bet it is something worth reading.
*hugs jilli* Of course I am willing to feed your cat! Just tell me to whom.
Muhammed Ali's original first name, minus a vowel
Hi all. Hope everyone is having a nice day. :)
ta sprite, was looking in wrong direction
hi jilli and red
Hi red
hi red, hope you are too.

for that you'll get a big scratch, sprite
jilli, great icon and good text! You are amazing. Errrrr... ok, that scratch was deserved, grin.

Excelent news then Sprite.

glad to hear you and Terra are a bit better, sprite. Keep it going
heya sprite, good time to come to the game, glad you had a better night
heya jilli
jilli, isn't nature amazing? Am still looking in wonder at your icon. It is like God wanted to create a toy.
thanks jacq! Company is great at this time, isn't it :)
glad you like it, sprite -- as for yours, I'm holding my nose, lol!
that critter you have as an icon, sprite, looks like it could do some damage to the unwary
hehehe yeah, I wouldn't like to have Terra rolling in it. But he will, given half a chance.
I have days I feel like one of those, BabbleRabble
Must go and ease my conscience -- poor kitty wants her brunch -- back later I hope -- lots of things to get done today and the grid doesn't look too promising -- 96 left now
into each life some rain must fall ... there are times some sun is sorely needed
88 here, but Jilli will be awake longer than I!
hi all. feeling better sprite?
“There are moments in life, when the heart is so full of emotion That if by chance it be shaken, or into its depths like a pebble Drops some careless word, it overflows, and its secret, Spilt on the ground like water, can never be gathered togetherâ€
bye jilli!
hi Dorens, yes, a little bit better, thank you :)
that is beautiful, BabbleRabble, but also painfully true
wow BR, that is beautiful and moving
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
well that's good sprite.... and babrab, that is lovely but making me a bit sad right now
yes, a vivid reminder of the damage a few words may rend
nods
words also give daily happiness, for instance when you find them in a babble grid like they were there waiting for you
exactly that.
but babble words are never careless
my monkeys would claim otherwise
your monkeys are rascals, grin
fireflies! And off to bed with me. Earlier than my kids, can you imagine? But I will do anything to get back on my feet again, even being a good girl. Bye all, thanks for the great company and the interesting conversation. Have fun!
be well, sprite .. may the sandman be kind
night sprite. sweet dreams

How is the curriculum building going, Dorens?
fortunately it is done (at least for now, until it is reviewed and its weaknesses come to light). thanks for asking

well done.
babrab, how do you occupy your time.. other than finding marvelous quotes for us and providing excellent (if occasionally cryptic) clues?

FLorida is good Joshua, we are having fun stormy weather...
First time player. Not sure what the Tile Stats and the Word Stats mean. Any help please?
ga peach, i have no idea, and but I hope it went well...
skbatson - the tile stats show how many words originate from each tile
Thanks, red.
the word stats tell you how many words of each length there are - for example, there are 85 4-letter words and 70 5-letter words and so on
Ok...I see that now, Joshua. Thanks! So what does it mean when one of you say es3/18?
well for starters you won't hear anyone say that because we don't look for 3 letter words in babble. but if someone were to say es5/18, that would mean that there is a word that begins with es, has five letters, and the total points on all the tiles adds up to 18. well, actually they would add up to 9, because with 5 letter words, you add up the points on all the tiles and double them. for 6-letter words, you triple the tile points, 7 letter words you quadruple, and so on
Skbatson if you click here , this will also explain it for you. http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html
batson, there is also the little tiny help box above the chat box, it apparently is helpful. but the game is like boggle essentially.
Yeah..I was just making an example off the top of my head..lol How do you know it starts with es, cause all my tile stats only have one letter in each of them?
Thank you zoozzoom!
yw
liketys list, a link at the below, some people use it some dont...

stay dry jen
rest well, Jen
g'night Jen
Goodbye JenMO16! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
Hello . . .
Hello J.C.! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
DR told me about that...I haven't had as much time to chog while working. I usually just log in long enough to put in the words i got doing the grid on paper, then log out. Today, I have a LATE courier, so I have some extra time
Oh, a little keyed up from a great night, Minveryork - and yourself? :)
I am well lbdawger. So sorry for the delayed response.
So does a little keyed up mean a little tipsy J.C.? :=)
hi JC. NP Min. glad you are well tonight.
dawg...great Maxine-ism today!
Hi, lbdawger! :)
I'm living by that one this week, Dan.
YOU? Never!
Not at all, Minveryork - just had another show go over very well two nights' running, which is a relief! Up to Edinburgh for the weekend, next.
And I don't think I'll manage to finish this grid! :P
ahhh, you're sweet Dan. but alas, i must confess, my evil twin slips thru at times.
Oh good for you J.C. I am glad that it was a success!
Thank you, Minver - the grid won't be, however! ;)
I fear my ranking shall forever stay in the toilet . . .
JC, I LOVE ALBIE!!!
So do I, lbdawger - isn't he impossibly cute? :)
dawg, I refuse to believe that you are anything but a lady...ever!
he is! you just want to snuggle with him!
I've been unsuccessful w/grid for the past few days. I think that the last time I got fireworks was Monday
*evil laugh from a great distance* okay Dan.
Yes, I do that - when he's actually tired enough to be still for a while, HAHAHA! :P
how old is he, JC?
He's four months old, now . . .
Oh I do not even care or worry about my rankings. I already know that it's ALWAYS in the toilet, probably even in the sewer for that matter J.C.
He was a little younger, in that photo . . .
JC, I see that you are published...anything available way over here? I'm always looking for a new favorite book!
May I please have a clue for ca7-32 the 3rd? Thanks
Surely, Minveryork, you *must* be joking??? You always seem to finish every puzzle - and end up cluing everyone else?!
Amazon, danf63 . . .
peach...start with the ca4/4, then play the B.I.N.G.O. song with it
Mama Ca*s + Pl**** don't eat the daisies
Are you on Yahoo, by any chance?
And you, lbdawger and Minveryork?
i do have a yahoo account. I've only chatted with Nutcakes there.
yum, nutcakes
JC...I don' think I would have much luck searching for your work by typing J.C., or Julian...can I have a clue please? (LOL)
can someone help me with the ta 6/21..? the first one.. I just got back and am trying to finish this thing
I have an MSN IM account...I think i'm the only one
Hello, ruru dahhhling!!! *MWAH!* ;)
meta ta****, like digits or fingers.
I have two of those, Dan - so you aren't the only one. ;)
hi guys
ruru...foot bones...I usually hear it start with meta-
Dan, that's why I am asking if you have a Yahoo account, so I can add you to my contacts on the profiles' network . . .
Thanks much, y'all.
thought that would have an I in it.thanks
No JC...but I just started a Facebook page (Darth's orders!)...no Yahoo
last sa 6/21 too please?
sa + Scarlet's home
Well register one, then. ;) Actually Dan, I can send an invite to your Hotmail address anyway, but to accept it, you'll have to register a Yahoo account . . . good to have, because you can play Scrabble (Literati) and Word Racer (similar to this), on there . . . ;)
this scarlet is showing up too much in the grid for my liking. thank you...LBD
yup, i noticed that too, RU
oh JC, you should be on facebook. there's a large population of babble scrabblers there!
Please do JC...
Hi feather!
hiya Feather
oh yeah, er, hi! lol, was reading back in chat, and just entered midway into the conversation!
No, featherbee - doesn't suit my purposes, as for any personal page of mine I need blogging capability. That's the main reason for using a network site!
Sorry Dan, no - it doesn't have what I want and I can't be on too much, because I'm very busy . . .
heh, my main reason for using facebook is to play scrabble and to see what my friends are up to at any given moment
I playl Scrabble on Yahoo . . .
And see what my contacts are up to there, also. ;)
My ranking might go up during the summer because I have more time on my hands to babble, but once I go back to school(which will be very soon), it goes back down.
Erm - 'play'. There's my typing out the window, again. :P
will return in about an hour. see you all then!
blogging! I haven't even figured out how to put a profile picture on mine! (Darth is supposed to show me how this weekend, if he can stop IM'ing friends for more than 5 minutes that is...)
JC...I meant send me a link to your work via my Hotmail...or to your blog, or something so i can look for your books.
later dawg! it was great seeing you again!
hubby's chatting with me, gotta scoot for now
Oh sorry, Dan - yes, I can do that.
I'm a little scatterbrained at the moment, sorry! :P
no problem JC...it happens to all of us, especially when there are 2 or 3 convo's going on at once!
Dan?
scooby dooby doo, where are you?

i'm glad she left someone behind for me to visit with.

Hi carol...welcome to babble! :)
it is a puzzle
thanks :)
hi ru!!!
you find all the words you can in the grid. in 24 hours
Hi pini
so im just doing Today's puzzle so far lol. is there anything else you do? :) im horrible at this, specially since english's not my 1st language. LOL. but i like playing to learn new words sometimes :D
words have to be at least 4 letters long and connect
oh.. you will learn lots of new words here
even we English speakers learn new words here!
the letters connect in all directions and you can't use the same letter twice.
okay :)
is that the new baby pini?
i've only put like 5 words so far LOL :P
sure is, ru! :)
congrats to your kids.. wow.. how nice for you
keep going, carol!!! :)
thanks :)
stick around for 30 minutes and you'll see...make a beverage and settle in...there's lots of chat with really great folks and of course, the puzzle...the chat will stop mostly for a few minutes while we knock off the easy ones quickly then all he** breaks loose... have fun
A new grid will start in just under 30 minutes...then you'll have 24 hours to find all the words...
you can get a clue list by scrolling down to lickety's list
lickety's list?
Thanks, ru! we've been keeping ourselves busy with him (he's my first grandson - now I have 2 GC and think both are awesome)
there are certain wacky people in the chat log..
that you have to be careful of...
hi kate...you new? ;)
Carol...lickety's list is found near the bottom of the grid under "Friends of Babble"
just kidding...
brand spanking new today was 2nd puzzle
open it in another window and it will give you the first 2 letters, word length, and point value for all of the words in the grid
well, welcome aboard to you, too! ;)
lol :)
oh wow that's a load of help :P
hope it is a small grid.. I am a bit tired tonight.
scoring is explained down there too
I'm simply behind, ru...just started this grid and won't finish (but 36 words so far)
36 or 36 to go?
37 words in, 169 left
oh geez
I'm not as fast as Stid! LOL
I can help for a while...lemme know
May I please have a clue for ca5-14 the 1st? Thanks
I haven't been able to play at my dau's house...I have to secretly piggy back off of an internet connection in her area and they are few and far between...
hey pini w/ the new grand baby
hey ren!! ;)
ca + the beginning of ms. ORmond
I need to download more pictures this weekend and post an update! :)
get reading for tips. people will help you (wait 'til initial bablbe-frenzy is over)...they helped me tons... and very nice...lots of food chat...
Gosh, Kate...already know about the PB? :)
chat log also reloads with new puzzle

Hello, Kate, nice to see you here again!

you are welcome gapeach
Hi, Pnki!
don't we all, jai! ROFL
lol.. I hear ya!
went to the box first day for accidentally typing guesses into chog...second day i typed a clue answer into chog by way of conversation - unintentional....live and learn...they're all very forgiving of newbies
I have three left....had to watch Fraiser reruns.
someone please use toea in a sentence?
most definitely, kate! we ALL have our moments!
cutting it close there gapeach
And oldies! I will never forget giving away 105 points.....And neither will this group.....
ru, I don't even know what it means!

I stubbed my toea...
105 points...wow...jai...big word!!!
forgiving yes.. especially if you gave them words they hadn't foudn yet..lol
okay so just looking at the lickety's list got me all confused LOL :P
Yep.....may I have a clue for es4-4? Thanks
Oh, yes a 9+11 at once!
es plural gapeach
Es44 Just do it again
a palindrome
sorta
got 154 today...54 words 17 minutes...2/min....doubt it
Carol...the list gives you a clue for each word in the grid by showing you the first 2 letters; the first number represents the number of letters in the word; the second refers to the point value (don't worry about that for now...it can come later) ;)
154 is very good!
okay :) so far i only have 13 words lol. i only kinda started so im patting myself on the back for that even though i knooow im still quite far LOL :P
very, jai...more than me, kate! :)

some thing silly is ab****
carol...that's a clue for a CA7/32 word
HI EVERYBODY ;p
ms. Moreno (the dancer's first name) plural and plural again
ca (first 2 letters of the word); 7 = number of letters; 32 = point value
ca+ answer the clue....stick 'em together and you have a word, TKate...

Yes?
can you spell obsession?
I am busy gritting my teeth and having FUN!!!
got dem fireworks, whew! off to find another icon...
Oh, and if you guys see "NBT" when the new grid starts; it means "no blank tiles" (meaning the player has at least one word from each available tile; there are no "0"s left)
