Good evening Andree!

Morning Andree (and all). Italian sweets.
Good morning Sally.

You sound like a representative sample of dwarves.

I feel like it too
She's not sleeping well either, so she's dooooooo4/12
Well I'm off to Venice and Florence in about 10 days. Weather looks wonderful there atm!
yay I'm every single dwarf at once!
I'm turning a delicate shade of green, Sally.
Doc!
hi all
This was a holiday planned for April but delayed cos of husband's heart bypass, followed by his pneumonia, followed by his nearly breaking his neck. So keep your fingers crossed.
i am green too, bad enough my sister sent me a cheery text frome cologne today
Hello Orange.
hi orange
and back, I am going to pretend it is summer today - no sun yet but it is not raining.
eeep! good luck this time round!
I hope it all goes well, Sally. I've been to Venice, never to Florence - it's on my list!
Just beginning to allow myself to get excited.
good heavens Sally! have a great time.
sounds like you really deserve this break sally
i fmitch
northern italy is amazing. will u go to Pisa?
We are going all the way by train (because we went to, not because of his health). Have a little flat booked inboth places.
have been to both, wonderful wonderful places both of them.
Morning Orange
Any tips, nice places to eat FM?
hiya FM.. sunflower reminds me of Tuscany/Umbria
Would love to reel out a list but i am going back 20 years or more.
The single most disappointing thing in Venice was that they have multiple McDonald's.
anywhere where the locals are!
Not planning Pisa, OrangeCat.
MdDonalds in Venice?????? Oh my god. Cancel the plans.
ditto what Ata said
At least five of them. Hopefully they've been replaced by something else.
what an awful thought!
The flats are both where the locals are, so hope to eat locally. No, we aren't stupid enough to eat in St Mark's Square, before anyone says.
if you hear american being spoken, head elsewhere :P
There is a McD in Windsor but they were only allowed to have the site if they change their livery - which they did.
Unless it's Donna Leon of course.
Luckily no McD in Ludlow.
ditto canterbury
Ludlow still really foodie place.
is there really an af?
How is the grid today?

just the cookie incident and its aftermath
Okay, will get my Miss Marple hat on later.
thx sally and fireworks
Congratulations Andree!

Apparently not.

I can never understand why earnt isn't allowed, when so many archaic words are. It's a perfectly acceptable variant of earned, as far as I know.

some tiles are like that - can't see the forrest for the trees
true hjst the funny thing is..it is in the grids alot..LOL
another thing that's been in the grid a lot lately is mammary glands
*nodding* I usually miss the goose and the volcano on the first pass. The fish just laugh.
i was trained early on to always enter the volcano without even looking
true Dorens ..judi ..i always miss the volcano one..so annoying..:-)
i think the first week that i played it was in 90% of the grids, so I learned to enter it automatically.... these days, at least i wait to see of a couple of those letters are there together first
lower corner c?
i seem to use the dot alot , i have noticed
but there are certainly some words i always miss, just not the goose or volcan
it is all in the corner Kje.
ce- ** adoro, anton (from west side story)
dots are useful.... i use them a lot too...
the dot???
lol...i am not very good with the comma & others to be honest..so just tend to use dots..to seperate my sentences..lol
oh, i do too, particularly in emails. i think they annoy some people. I know a lot of grammatical purists.
holy cow that was a lot of monkeying for a 4 letter word
I find dots... suspensful!
well at least you have got it now Kje :-)
i can be grammatical ; ) I just find the dots useful... more like a continuing thought as if you are really talking
it's a babblet, you've seen it before, k?
LOL judi - love that!\
dorens... you saythat as if it means something - LOL
exactly.....helps to separate thoughts... in an informal, conversational sort of day
how about way, not day??/
i agree dorens, to hell with the purists, they lack imagination
too funny - i read way
can i have the stats for that lone i please? it looks impossible to me, probably a fish
i think you have hit it on the head there...that is what i am doing...using dots as i am conversing with type...i feel better now....DOTS rule..lol
hah just found it, feeling like peri
As Americans, it is our duty to slaughter grammar and replace it with slang, inappropriate spelling and punctuation.
io6 - related to a halogen

There once was a sysadmin, Eddie, Who could strip, touch and finger real steady. But when it came to the mount, (From his sweetheart's account), It was always "Device is not ready".
lmao
I like that one
;)
Help I can't find the st/9
dont blame you let me try and clue it....
s+male turkey+od4/5 is the 8 letter version of this not do a latin ending for the 9
st9 - s, plus three letters for Jerry Mouse's feline enemy, two letters indicating that someone's had too much of a drug, finish with a raft of vowels, second sandwiched between a double helping of the first.
well done Haz!
Hello hello!
Hello, all!
Hello Vicuna!
hi vi!
So I see we've been indulging in naughty limericks.
lol vic
Not guilty, your honour.
i can do clean ones as well
got the st/8 but still can't figure out the st/9
folic
the 9 is a latin type ending
Stick in the extra vowel immediately after the last consonant.
sorry
For the st9 , reverse the order of the vowels at the end of st8 and then add another one at the end.
thank you finally got it
ok,a nice clean one... There was a young woman named Bright Whose speed was much faster than light. She set out one day In a relative way, And returned on the previous night
I've heard that one! =)
the clean ones go round and round, not many new ones
lol and this one is almost clean
Hmmm... that sounds like a call to action.
On the chest of a barmaid at Yale were tattooed the prices of ale, and on her behind, for the sake of the blind, was the same information in Braille.
ok nopw to break this babble wall ive run into
lol
Which leads me to tell Ata that while she was away on holiday, there was a blind participant on University Challenge - they had little Braille notes for her for some of the questions!
my wife practices with the braille imprinted on our newer bank notes
I don't think we have any braille notes, or maybe I haven't been taking note properly.
really? wow! did her team get through>
i say"since your always grabbing it as fast as you can,you may as well get some practical use out of it" :/
I can't remember! Isn't that shameful? She did very well, certainly answered more than her fair share of questions. I was impressed.
no totally braille haz, just braille imprints in the top left corners
I suppose if you were blind, you might not waste a whole lot of time watching tv, films adn playing video games. Maybe more time reading :)
hello
indeed
howdy harp!
I must look sometime, cross, it had never occurred to me. It doesn't when you're not directly affected.
Hello, Uni and harp.
is today's grid a tiny terrorist?
We did not always have braille on the bills, it is only on the newest generation, I believe. Maybe the last two.
some of it is nasty with evil pretentions
It's not too bad, harpjane.
as i say,the newer bills
How often does your mint decide to print up a n ew generation of notes, Haz? We seem to get a new one every five years or so.
Now, that is.
No braille on the notes in my purse.
no notes in my purse :0(
lol jacq
hello everyone
back again
howdy jacq
heay crossy
Well, that's the thing, we have a muliplicity of banks issuing notes. Northern Bank, Ulster Bank, Allied Irish, First Trust, Bank of Ireland etc along with Bank of England. They probably print them when they feel like it, or when they run out of them because £26 million's been pinched.
bank of scotland also produces it's own notes
Hello jacq.
heya haz
other chartered banks still produce nothe other than at you main mint haz?
Oh my. We get new ones p[rinted all the time, but they redesign them to make the new generations for special things.
notes even
the last of our chartered bank s stopped producing notes in the 30,s
Hello, jacq.
I'm not sure about the technicalities of the whole thing and English people can be a bit sniffy about accepting our notes.
Bank of Scotland too
lol love it...sniffy
You've so many people producing them - I think I should declare myself a bank and start printing notes.
i always have a rave about spending scottish bank notes in london, so i make a point of getting a good few from the bank before i go down :o)
You know, that sniff of disapproval and suspicion.
we had banks that produced notes like "the standard bank of canada" the mecintile bank of canada..etc..now the bills from those are very rare and desirable to collectors
afternoon babblers. :)
howdy eva
Good afternoon, EvaN.
i think the money is all produced by the mint but is ordered by the banks
Hello, EvaN.
same as us jacq
Yes, I think it all has to be covered by the Bank of England - that's not the technical term but you'll know what I mean.
how are we all today?
though the east coast of canada continued to use its own currency right up till the mid 40,s
Go East Coast! We're rebels without a cause.
brb
crossy was a coin collector for 20 years:)
lol uni,god bless the newfies
in case anyone is interested, the rest of the pictures from my last photo shoot are now in my Flickr. :)
just coinage crossy or notes too?
some note in a small way
so... nobody seems to have mentioned the 8 or 9 lately...
And the rating, EvaN? Dare we look?
collecting good collectable notes can be very $$$$$$
i have russian notes i found in an old book i bought, very uinteresting was a small leather bound atals showing someones route through europe
no more risque than the one already shown. :)
well, hursh, kinda hard to work those into everyday conversation
It's because we rarely mention the alimentary canal of an embryo, hurshy.
i am ignoring them haz because i can't find them if i pretend they aren't there i don't need to find them
mmm, ok, but what do they start with?
st9 and st8 in that order
lol eva..took me a bit to realize there was a bike in that picture
was distracted of course
ok i managed to find the 8 based it on the st but the 9 confuses me is it a plural?
a latin type plural
have to play with it
jacq - reverse the order of the last two vowels on the st8 then add another vowel.
what haz said
A young psychic midget named Marge Went to jail with the most heinous charge But despite lock and key The next day she broke free And the headlines said "Small Medium at Large"
ahhh ty and thank you too haz
No problem, jacq.
bad cross
may have to list a tad early
i have better i promise kje
that is what i am afraid of
well that's not a plural, then, that's an alt spelling.
here you go kje,and it is almost clean
There once was a maid from Madras Who had a magnificent ass. Not rounded and pink, as you'd possibly think; It was gray, had long ears, and ate grass.
LOL - bad cross
bingo!
oops, wrong game ; )
fireworks!
be sure and share that one with scrab, cross
will do
mm kje is a tough sell i see....
gotta run - later babblers
oops ill stop i promise
how is folic not in the dictionary? folic acid... it's a thing...
Anybody want some ideas on how to be creative with dog grooming? http://tinyurl.com/mrz53w
ran into that an hour ago..tis annoying
Enable won't take folic because Enable is anemic.
haha
lol
ca 6 & 7 are what cats from Mars have coming out of their ears...
*heads
Haz, just looked at that article -- some of those look nearly cruel to the poor dog! Am sending that link on to my daughter, who loves to groom her two shelties. :)
lol, jai. I think that would have a double letter in the middle, though.
<it's a pun>
Yes, I saw that, but I think it still works as a clue....
I know, ch1212, they look to be victims of their owners' enthusiasms.
it worked for me!
It worked for me (after I tried the double option!) =D
Cool!
phantom: rodomantade
what does that mean BR?
BR- how can that be a phantom without any "R"?
It means BR needs new glasses if he sees it int he grid.
LOL Vic
Pretentious boasting or bragging; bluster and hence any arrogant act.
lol br,glad its a phantom..was going nuts looking for the letter r lol
not getting the cat clue
I think BR made a pun based on we poor people knowing the meaning of that word- which I do not....
BR's icon looks remarkably like DR-G in old age.
hi fellow babblers!
heya beach
<My Favorite Martian> Remember that show??? Does that help?
ca6 - Feline plus Mrs Sharples of Coronation St
howdy beach

How the heck do you use cl6,30 in a sentence??? "I cl**** him all night?"
"Cloyed" is a difficult word to use in a sentence.
I have heard of ****ing, but not the other two...But "pissy" isn't a word...go figure
PB for BR!
O.O The wiseman of babble is in the pb!
But Babble, you are so right.
Did they finally get "internet" in the dictionary???
He had become cl 6 of his existence; the never changing regimen.
Ah! Archaic usage! I should have figured Middle English!
I am often in the penalty box. That is why I rent a space.
as the farmer tasted his wares,he discovered that his milk products had become cl 6/30 from improper recipie measurements :))
Me, too. I have this problem with switching my cursor...

A phaeton is a type of carriage...how did you select that for your name?
We have a motorhome with that name
Ah!
Happy Babbling! 'foop'
rolls royce used that as a badge name for one of thier models as well
Well, a phaeton was driven only by the most skilled and excellent and rich people!
lol money does not =skill once you get the right hand drive down it is quite easy
<typing with overly affectionate cat in lap>
when all my typos cease, you know my cat is doing the typing
LOL!
Ah!
here comes one now,our newest kitty 'serius black"
<purring quite loudly and dunking head under my hand....>
Oh, I like that! I presently have just plain Tomtom, who is fascinated by my fingers touching the keys....
I have 6. How many own you?
took the wife to a rescue zoo the other day and the black jaguar was facinated by the plastic end on her vision cane as it went left and right, she had the thing mesmerized;0
i have 3
monkey,serius black and abracadabra
abby for short
Wow! Careful! 3...leads to 4....and more....
when i go to the vet with abby,i make them write out her full name;)
awww.....i was looking at the kitties for adoption in PetSmart when we were there to pick up crickets for the BFs lizards... *WANT!*
abracadabra hocus pocus melbourne ;)
I have Maisy and Dottie, who were born blind; Sugar and Teddy who are sibs; and Gracie, the Mommy cat, and TomTom.
eva,try to rescue a kitty from a shelter first
I love Abby's name!
Yes, I agree!
she came with that name from the shelter lol
these are shelter cats -- they host them in PetSmart to get them more visible...
well not the last but all the rest
ahh good stuff eva
Teddy went to the vet as Teddy, and came back with Teddy Bear as his name, minus certain essential parts....
yes,all ours are altered, dont need to add to the burden
as of now, there are over 450 cats in the shelter and foster homes in out town
He is a a long-haired flame point Siamese with a ragdoll personality...thus the TeddyBear
our even
siamese i tend to find aloof
no kitties for me anyway. i had 2 lovelies, but i had to re-home them when i moved in with the BF 2 years ago. (1) he has 2 lizards, (2) our place is just too small for cats, (3) most people i know are allergic, and (4) i knew we would be moving around a bit before settling down + the kitties just didnt deal well with that. they were far too stressed. would love to get more one day, when life is a bit more settled... *le sigh*
Not this cat! He is the most affectionate cat I own....Well, and TomTom, too.
they will be there for you when your ready eva
Yes, Eva..good things come to those who wait
my Char (short for Chardonnay, the kitty in my picture) was part siamese. never figured out what else she is... she was aloof most of the team, but way deep down, she was a cuddler. ;)
Eva, vous parlez le francais?
lol! abby(3 year old butterscotch female) is giving serius(a 7 month old black male) a full tongue cleaning of his head lol
eh, un petit peu... ;)
i speak just enough french to get my face slapped in a bar
Me, too!
oh! so that was you!!
lol
Moi aussi!
pourquoi demandez-moi, jai? (hopes i said that correctly!)
était juste votre beauté qui a brillé mon esprit et a détaché ma langue rétive
Vous parlez tres impressif!

Funny story from office yesterday---when checking a 7 yr old girl's "privates" I find that she is wearing boy's briefs! The mother + siblings were laughing hysterically and the girl said, "There were no clean ones so I took Jack's (brother)"

My bunny, Gandalf, is grey, with long ears and he eats grass!
they were celan and they cover everything

Hi Sprite
Hello, sprite
Hi Sprite- wonderful to see you
thanks all for the warm welcome :)
hi spritey!
too bad you missed todays limerics sprite:/

lol cross... do I want to scroll back or not?
sokay safer not to i think..your not amish are you?

you know, BabbleRabble, sometimes it is a bit scary how perfectly your profile texts are timed with my own process. Thanks for sharing, again.
hm no, I think I am not amish.
k..1 clean one and thats it for today
My foreshadowing I write distinctly, Denouement, I can write in a blink, see, And when irony beckons, I can write it in seconds, But I can't finish limericks succinctly.
Those st 9 and 8 are weird words. Don't ask me to clue them because I have not a clue in my brain how to do it.
Bravo, Crossy
lol that is a brilliant one!
br has a good clue for it
is the st8 related to the 9? BR helped with the 9
I would like to hear the clue, even though I've found them the hard way. Please?
s + male cat + a lyric poem + an indefinite article
wow, now that is a clue indeed. New word for me!
s + male cat + a lyric poem: **e + pi R squared + *r**

4 wks 6 days til new job. Hey, I have a question regarding PTO (personal time off) given that I am departing my job.
yes scrabs?
We "earn" PTO each "trimester", e.g. Jan-April, and use that earned time in the next trimester. So, what I have earned for May-Aug should, it seems, be available for me to use in Sept, and then unused PTO can be paid out to me.
yes, that makes sense scrabbler
sounds fair
BUT, I was told that I can use only 1/4 of my earned PTO because I am working just 1/4 of the final trimester of the year. This makes no sense to me as we may use earned time anywhere within that trimester.
that makes no sense, you're right
May I please have a clue for fa5-16? Thanks
So I have been told that all I get is 1/4 of my earned PTO!
Do you have a written contract?
fa + the ***ble Dictionary is sometimes crazy
tell him he can have anything built up from the next partial trimester, but me must pay may-aug
My suggestion, is to remember, that is why you are leaving this place and let it go with grace.
And this decision took place during a partner meeting about which I was not informed even though I am a partner through Sept 28.
or an employee handbook?
need two for frieworks first fo 5/16 andfa6/33 clues please
Thanks, nrkii.\
I reviewed the partner agreement and there is no mention of PTO. Of course the objective of the partnership is to not pay out $.
I think first fo 5/16 = to force upon
this is not a standard pto clause but a specialty clause..may be different in U.S
Bugsaw, it translates to just over $1000.
the same thing happened to me, scrabs, I think it's fairly standard
Very frustrating, Scrabs
Since you are a partner, that changes things for me. DO you have something like our Labour Relations Board in the US?
give him the pto from the next 4 weeks and 3 days, but he should at the very least pay for may-aug scrabbs
There is no mention of PTO at all in the agreement. They just created a plan Monday night when I was not there, and I was informed by e-mail today.
What do you mean, Ata?
If there is no mention of PTO in the partnership agreement, how do you know what you are entitled to?
ty nrkii got that one. now only need fa 6/33
I agree with your plan, Crossy, and my business attorney sister will advise me. It is another reminder of why I am departing, but it makes me so mad that I am being screwed right til the end of my partnership.
mm one of those cases you could fight and win,but only on principal as it would cost more that that to rake him over the coals:(
that you're only entitled to a proportion of time off, you can't take the whole of what youre entitled to for the year
Good point, BR, but maybe I missed it in the legalese.
definatly run it by sis
e.g. I have 34 hrs of earned time to use from Sept-Dec, but I am leaving the partnership Sept 28, so they are telling me I can use only 1/4 of 34.
fa6 33 = like a king has a kind*** to rule over, an avid sports fa* has a fa****
*trying cadence one more time, Crossy*
TY, N
Have you received payments according to your understanding, Scrabbler?
lol scrabbs
Scrabs, I'm in MN (which has a strong workers' rights history) and since I resigned from my previous job BEFORE I took my PTO; I couldn't get ANY pto.
Yes, payments = draws, PTO up to now
I wonder why, Nef?
ty nrkii fireworkd
yay matches!
technically I'd say you should have all the PTO you built up till now, so that would be the portion you could use up from sept-dec, plus 1/4 for Sept buildup.
Yahoo Matches!
wtg lucifers!
this grid is kickin my butt;((
11 left here...
poor crossy, want me to take over? (the kickin', that is)
If so, and you received a payment in the second quarter for PTO in the first -- but now are told PTO is pro-rated for the year if you resign ... what a mess
ahh ty,no sprite
awwwwww:(
alreay have a wife for that
A good partnership agreement would spell out when PTO has vested, and what resigning partner is entitled to.
9 and listing
ah ok, she will know better than me how and where to kick... ;)
Scrabs, that company was a HUGE corporate insurance company. I worked for them 10 months, and not only did I not get any PTO, but they forces me to repay all of the sign on "bonus." NOW they just sent out a revised W2 form that says they paid me $1300 less than what their first W2 form said (which doesn't equal the paltry sign on bonus, nor the PTO) and we have to refile our taxes!
lol,all this time i missed what a cow dows:/
good grief nef!!
We're going to have to get you a Fisher Price zoo song toy crossy
Nef, that stinks impressively
With an oink oink here and an oink oink there...
yaa fisher price barn yard sounds!!
Ol' McDonald had a farm
Good point, BR. I must remember that. TY. And, Nef, you have been treated so poorly! I am so sorry for your mess.
I've gained some experience along the way. Never resign before using your PTO first!
and his doctor fainted
give us the company name so we can boycott thier insurance lol
The OSHA dude is taking pictures and taking down names
uh oh
he will be doing a stop work order if he is doing that
it wasn't me it wasn't me
reminds me of when we found asbestos in a job we were doing,3 weeks for govt drone to come to site and say"yup, thats asbestos"
Ty for input everyone. I am awaiting my attorney sister's input next.
yo*U* will *N*ever guess what *I* have gone *T*hrough ov*E*r thispast*D*ual years.
let me know what sis says, very curious now is crossy
fireworks!
yaa for nrkii!
wtg finishers
Yay Nrkii! WTG!!!
I've come to a decision... the problem with being unemployed is that you have so much time to do great things and buy things, but NO MONEY
Good luck, Scrabbler .. what a cutthroat business ...
I get an email every day about cruises I could be taking
LOL, nrkii! How long has it taken you to figure that out?
*hugs Scrabs*
6 months Nef
in ontario, you cant remove it till govt verifies it and approves the removal company...good grief
good grief is right crosshair!
nrkii, when you run out of money for the internet ill teach you how to do"waredriving" on your laptop :))
Congrats N!
too funny crossy!
Yes, BR, nasty, nickel+ dime, nitpicking, micromanaging business!!
Having enough money sure makes life easier, doesn't it?
yep... and I hate to say it, but nobody won megamillions last night... not even me...
lol scrabbs, the guy who owns all our chlets(144 of them) plus a resort in point-au-barrow(sp) has told us we can from now on only put one packet of coffee in each unit as it costs him too much..talk about penny grubbing micromanagement!
{{{nrkii}}} I'm under-paid right now, but am loving my job. I am working in a nonprofit field and make less than half of what I made in the hospital. I loved the hospital job (CV-ICU) but can't ever go back to floor nursing. I hated the telephone triage job; but love this job.
nef,my sis in law did trauma/triage for 15 years, burnt her right out;(
It is essential that one finds the job that fits one's talents, temperament, intelligence, etc. A poor fit = unhappy employee.
good to be paid less and have less stress
scrabbs will tell you,stress kills
okay, time to go... happy babbling everyone!
tc nrkii;)
trauma triage would burn me out too, crossy. But I did CV-ICU for 34 years and loved almost every day of it. This job I love too, but I am really "wet behind the ears" at times and learning curves are harder to do as we age.
Bye N!
bye nrkii
bye nrkii :)
Daily stress is bad physically, emotionally, mentally---the abuse is bad!
I can testify to that fully
so you got everything all set for your new practice scrabbs? just slide into the new digs when its time?
yep. But what about if it's daily stress from something you love (VS. daily stress in a job you hate)?
would make a difference im sure
all stress increases health risks... including "good" stressors like weddings, anniversaries, new jobs, graduations, etc
I would think it makes a big difference too.
moral of those studies is to do nothing in life
Martin Luther King Jr.: "In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
doing nothing can be very stressful though
deep
LOL sprite... then there you go.... maybe the answer is to not live?
yeah I think we will
I'd rather live life in a happy state than in a job that you hate
You must feel betrayed, Scrabbler
living in general increases health risk... think I can publish that?
hey, I think dying is very high on the stress scale!
hey, I think dying is very high on the stress scale!
darn, fell for the double enter trap
I agree with that for most people, sprite
hmmmm.... you may have a point... but then, is dying the same as not living???
not living is being dead alive
Life simply is a prelude to death
i used to do courrier for northern telecom in toronto, high pressure, watch the clock, faster, faster, then 16 years ago i said to hell with this quit the job, sold everything i owned, moved up north, got a good job with a bit less pay, more nature and found my wife and lived happier;))
working in a job you hate IS a particular form of hell on Earth I think
Hi kje
death is part of life. We all live til we die (as an old Frenchman once told me)
hi scrab
death is the next adventure
my comments were tongue in cheek, btw
Yes, BR, I feel betrayed, but I am proud of myself for choosing to depart. Now, if the terms of departure can be settled fairly I will be happier
I would too, Scrabbs .. those other partners have no honor
Yep, BR, they allow a tyrant to continue the tyranny.
I am more afraid of not living than of dying or being dead
agree sprite.... worse things than being dead... well, no way to truly know that, but that is what I think
LOL
You are worth thousands of them, Scrabs. I hope you will get out of this as a financial winner too, but even if you don't, you are still the winner.
wanna try?
;)
mmm think ill apply at the canadian mist factoy here in town, see if i can be the official taster.now there is a job to make you smile
I do not fear death ... many times I have prayed for it
ouch crossy, you really need a NOSE for that, and a specially sensitive pallate etc.
yes,if this place has no honor scrabbs, that filters down to how thier patients are treated.you are definatly better than that ilk
yes that is the other side, BabbleRabble, I know that feeling too well too. It is a silent form of heroism to live like we do.
cross... once i saw a tv special on ice cream tasters... that is what i want to be when i grow up
chances of that are small though, kje ;)
i made iced cream for 6 years..cant touch the stuff now;/
Scrabs, an NP friend just got let go and they've done some pretty nasty things to her too (including not paying her the severance pay they had promised her). I told her that the best revenge is to move on and be happy in a much better practice. Her patients are now switching just to follow her; so that original practice is losing her plus a good share of their clients.
the best revenge is living well
yay Nef, that is justice as it should be
Many of my families will follow me and it is such an honor for me to hear that from parents.
sprite - did Kennedey's demise make the international news?
Will any of your clients follow you Scrabs? Or at least change practices too?
scrab - there was not a no-compete clause?
you may feel it as an honor, Scrabs, but it is also reaping what you sowed (sp?).
well the old place cannot dictate what dr a patient chooses to go to im sure
I don't know kje, I don't follow the news.
Great! That's as it should be for that practice being so nasty!
kje, I was given permission to tell parents and the current practice will let parents know where I have gone to
nobody can force a patient to stay, and as a doctor Scrabs has sworn an oath to help people who ask her to.
yes it did kje, not major news, the football riots were, but it did make the news
interesting scrab
hi jac
hi jacq
what paiten load do you anticipate scrabbs? i think most dr,s here top out at 400 for thier family practice..but we are a terribly under serviced area
football riots in the UK? hardly news anymore - LOL
hello everyone was lost in the grid
Good morning everyone
Chappaquiddick will be retold again
there haven't been any for years
but last nights was awful
it is so disappointing jac... all over a game
hi lyn, good morning to you
no kje it's rivalry these people are not sports fans
football riots aren't over a game. They are about violence.
Helo, lyn
hello Lynxxx and jacq
true sprite... just an outlet
I guess I don't understand the whole riot thing; not about football, nor religion, nor nationality. I just don't *get* violence!
I can get very angry and feel violent, so I get violence. I don't get the part where they don't control their anger.
the religeous violence overseas just blows my mind.not about religeon, but the interpetation of it for god sakes1
Good point, kje. But I do get anger; I just don't get violence
The wars go on .. more troops to Afghanistan .. darfur .. .Korea wants to start a nuclear holocaust ..
yas,is n korea still playing with isotopes?
fireworks
it is frightening. Not kidding here, it really scares me. I am scared in any mass, but war is the most scary thing of all.
yaa for jacq
If there are no legitimate reasons for fight, illegitimate will do
gratz jacq

Yippee, Jacq!!
congrats, sprite
yaa for sprite!
lol @ babble pan
YAY, sprite!!! WTG!!!!
Crossy, the figure I was told years ago is that a full-time primary care pediatrican needs 2500 kids in their panel to make a decent living
But insurance reimbursement has changed, so I am not certain about panel sizes
YIKES, Scrabbs! Is that what you carry? That's a LOT of kids!
although I enjoy the company and chat, I must leave you. Bed time for me. *hugs* to you all and may there be peace.
It is hard to sort this out with a group practice--we share the patients.
be well, sprite
nite nite sprite
Sleep well, Sprite!
goodnight Sprte, sweet dreams
Hi Lynxxx
Hi Scrabs
2500??!!!
I could see having about 1200-1500; because many kids would only be seen if they are ill or if they have some sort of required physical; but 2500 sounds overwhelming
well guess that works, there are 6 dr,s working the clinic i go to
We have 4 MDs at 3.5 full-time equivalents and 4 nurse practitioners at 2 FTEs
and almost 7000 kids
so about 6 FTE's and 7000 kids (taking in mind that 2 FTE's are NPs too)
oops. Mathis wrong ; 5.5 FTE's
Bye everyone
bye, lynxxx. I need to go too; on vacation and haven't done anything at all so far around the house and it's a mess!
Bye Lynxxx
I am ready for a nap---bye for now.
okay, chos' broken
bye now
hello anyone!!!! Seems very quiet in here tonight!!!
Hello, mo
Is there anyone out there????
hi BabbleRabble.
has everyone done for today?
On days with shorter grids, there is less chat
many have, mo
but I havent seen it as quiet as this so early in the day!!!!

ty BR my Italian is not much better than my French
heh. I'd tried it with the last 2 letters reversed, thanks babble!
actually found out that although you can get by with Spanish with large hand gestures in Italy that the Spanish word for lost is not at all like the Italian word for lost

a foreign country to me is five miles from home
that would be Canada

I am about 200 miles from Canada

yes Trader
you rock
I meant I am easily confused and am not allowed to far from home without an escort
are you well BR?
slow and steady with lots of clues from babbler friends
too far, that is
well that makes every trip a new adventure
the flower is a nice change from the old man
well, of course, is a deep subject for a shallow mind
seem rather lucid when babbling,BR...or is that part of the pathology?
<groan>
lol BR

go, jmc, go!
BabbleRabble - loved your post today. a lesson for us all. will reread later for inspiration.
Yes, I am going through some intense soul-searching ...
I like the posting today too.
truly, br?
Negative chatter is so distructive
destructive too
I guess I have to wonder what you mean by negative chatter BR
there is negativity all around us, br. it's very difficult to keep focused on good things in our lives sometimes. why do the baddies always seem larger than the goodies?
I would say trader that they only seem larger and that is because we focus too much on them
negative chatter here: http://tinyurl.com/mdhn4s
brb then
wait for me! you won't leave will you BR?
I am back Trader! sorry to dash away but I wanted to read the webpage to which BR referred
very interesting exercise BR. Has it been helpful for you?
how many to you have left Trader?
how do you find all these gems BR?
I keep reminding myself to find the fallacy in the talk and correct it
am actually finished jmc. <smile>
I am reading and working through Six Weeks to a Simpler Lifestyle
good for you trader!
How do you like it, jmc?
I work very hard to find that of God in everyone including myself! It is often harder to find God in myself
Congrats, Trader
yes, and so it is for so many
I actually like it a lot. It is not just about possessions
woo hoo firewords! tx all cluers
it is more about priorities and changing habits in small steps
congrats, dan
whoo hoo dan!
sounds like a book I could use
it is my sabbatical book :-) since it requires daily exercises
we have made our lives unnecessarily complicated, haven't we? As hunter/gatherers we spent a lot less time maintaining our needs than we do now...so are those needs real or artificially/socially manufactured?
authors -- Barbara DeGrote Sorenson and David Allen Sorenson
The Road Less Traveled by M. Scott Peck, MD, is a favorite of mine
good going, dan!!
today was pretty complicated with cooking squash and tomato sauce to freeze tho!
an oldie but goodie BR
Did not like his later book though
I read a few of his back in the 80's br. really liked them at the time, can't remember a thing about them now.
he is gone now, I believe
okay BR I give up on af5 -- have been unable to find it even with your clue ashole
jmc: at least you are the ant, not the grasshopper of the fable
a + ashoe
ooo I have my grasshopper tendencies thank God! lol
Aha Watsoon, the game is a****!
Watson
a + what is in ashoe
argh! a fish after all that!
lol I really made that too complicated!
sorry if I mislead you
kept looking at the lower af -- lol
no BR your clue was clever and dead on
Am going through temporary ant stage right now. being a grasshopper had become an overwhelming experience
well I think it is good to balance the two trader
and here i thought a riot was ashoe when jmc said she couldn't get the clue ashole! LOL .. hi, everyone!
hi welki
lol I really messed up!
hello, welki
hi welki
unsucessfullly trying to reclaim balance at present

yaaa, mrs crossy bought me a bonsai tree;)
therein lies the trouble. not bending like a willow these days. feeling like an old oak that got caught in maelstrom. not uprooted, but less solidly implanted
how nice crossy!
ill have to look at it for a few days and see the shape within:)
do you know how to prune it crossy?
have you given it a name?
yes indeed, take ages:/ but thats the idea
ooohhhhmmmm
ka zen and all that happy crap;))
if it's a girl tree, you could call her Patience
the name is ka zen and all that happy crap?
i think this one may be like those trees you always see in africa;)))
i will have to think on a name
not many bonzai in africa
your a tad too literal jmc lol
i seem to be today
some days I am literally literal
long limbs with little clouds of foliage at distal ends?

bbl probably
see you at the flip then?
maybe trader -- we'll see
BR is the best cluer ever!
*poof*
there is not a definate shape within the tree. i look and see what it offers me and if i am good and patient i may be able to release most of it with my pruner:)
if you don't see a shape crossy, do you just let it grow until something "appears"?
what are you releasing? it's inner potential shape, or some kind of mystical aura?
bye jmc
with the other one(now 8 years old,i sit with it once a wekk, and might snip here,or there,or not at all, then one day something will show itself.but it must be done slowly sometimes no more that a single snip in a wekk
week
it is not unlike a jig saw puzzle that never ends
but a creation as well
not aura per-se,but the sharing of life
god creates .. man manipulates
so it has always been
but sometimes you can find a balance
i teach the bonsai tree its shape, but it also teaches me
:)
good grief now im sounding like a corny episode of kung-fu with david carradine
ah, Grasshopper with clippers
i feel like little grasshoopper...
Hi, everyone!

Hi, TraderKate!

TY, BR
I am more of a tomboy than a lady, for sure.
some are offended by "girl"....
work went great today, i put stuff back on the shelves, i helped 2 different customers longer than expected and one lady wanted to pay me for my help!
Well, I hear lady, woman or ma'am and think, "Me?"
And your wrist feels ok, jen?
Well, done, Jen. Good for you.
am personally offended by ma'am. especially from 20 yr. old....makes me feel soooooooo old
tomorrow is a longer day!
is itch gone?
I generally only get offended when I am called Priscilla
Haha, BR
i really didn't have a problem with itching, i had more problems with my hand being hot, but luckily no sweat on my arm
as would i BR.doesn't suit you at all. think you're more of a zelda...

not too sore then jen?
i have the splint off now to get rid of the marks left on my arm from the bandage and i am typing with both hands!
no, not really sore

hi everyone1
Hi dawger! Two left--monkey is busy!
good monkeys!
Hi - does the fa6,33 build off of the fa5?
no
Uno---I cannot ask for a clue on my last word--Scrabble's Rule for Authentic Fireworks.
OK - tks --- any clues?
you're a glutton for punishment, scrabs
fa6 is what those who follow a particular person or subject is all about. that world
Yes, but to me it is cheating to ask for a clue on the last word--in my mind.
oh ... tks ibd!
i guess for me it depends on the word. if it's a big word and i'm totally clueless, i go for the assist
yw, tedy
Done! Now, dinner! Bye all. See you tomorrow.
whoooo hooooooo SCRABS!!! enjoy dinner, see you tomorrow
guess scrabbler scrambled off...belated wtg
hi TK
DAWG! fancy meeting you here
you're sall done?
lol
yup, finished a little bit ago

just here for the great company?
of course!
have you finished yet, TK?
there's a lot of that here...i'd do it more ,but it takes so long for everything to reloead each time...drives me nuts

he'll be back. he likes to check out who's here periodically
May I please have a clue for do5-14? Thanks
whooooo hooooo on your fireworks, TK!!
so often he doesn't alert us to his presence though. love his take on philosophy of life. seen his post today?
plural for sweet in italian or latin, peach
ty dawg. don't think anyone was around when i finished.
no, what did he post?
these small grids are a mixed blessing. they can be truly difficult or relatively easy. but then it's done and what's left to do?
about the guilt we all have re: our/society's expectations and how falling short of the impossible is destructive
st9 and st8?
do iron sudoku?
is that in his profile or did he post that in chat?
in profile. worth the read
most people mostly lurk until they feel like talking :P
ata, u lurker, you <grin>
hi shirl, kinda hard to clue, starts out like tummy, (first half), + long poem + vowel, that's the 8
hi Ata!
*still lurking but reading chat*

any news from the great cookie war ata? hope things have simmered down
cookie war?
I've hardly spoken to the evil brat. avoiding him is good!
cool, thx lbd
glad you got it, shirl
huge marriage issue over the fact that I dared to buy and eat some cookies *facepalm*
braised short ribs in spicy brown sugar bbq sauce with garlic, onions, green peppers. simmered til they literally fall apart. served with corn on cob, (pork &) beans garlic toast....maybe some salad..
yes, it really is as silly as it sounds!
mmmmmm
sometimes the inane blow up to ridiculous proportions though as happened here
oh, hey ata... was wondering how things are over there in cookieland
so you have entent cordiale or cold war?
frosted ;)
mmmmfrosted cookies
put some in PB for me
back in 2
ahh, families...can't live with them...be an orphan.
are you speaking ata?
Hi dorens
vaguely, I'm just trying not to be there much. Actually, it's all very weird. husband "apologised" and apparently that means everything is ok now, and he can't understand why I'm not enthusiastically and happily back to being a little ray of sunshine thinking of long years of happiness together in the future
hi dawg
even the most brilliant of men are sometimes kind of simpleminded
you can say that again!
7:43 pm Dorens ProfileUnited States even the most brilliant of men are sometimes kind of simpleminded
LOL Dorens
*grin*
May I please have a clue for io6-21? Thanks
lol dorens, Ata, let him eat cake
io+ not fig
my daughter just broke up with her live-in bf.... each is trying to stay out of the other's way... he's going on tour with a friend's band for three weeks... and they're dealing that way until Oct 1 when they each move. not an easy time, but they are on friendly terms for now at least
with some men, that's as good as it gets. work with all men. psychology is different. for most of them. think of couple of guys having dust up in parking lot over whatever...when fight's done....it's done. move on. frequently become friends...a bonding thing. expect he figures it's done, he apologised, now it's forgotten...quite sure he doesn't want to "talk about it". to him it's history. done and buried.
but you two are married, and not broken up, at least not now. and in his mind it's all over... good lluck
I know *sigh*. But when he tells me he doesn't want me in HIS house and quite frightens me, that is NOT done and dusted!
I knew there was a reason I stayed single . . . eating cookies whenever I want to!!
very sensible, Judy. and I will be that way soon, I know now. And actually rather looking forwrad to it!
well, i have to go trudge along on the treadmill for my minimum 30 minutes..... ata... best of luck, and remember that judy and i eat our cookies whenever we want and it is not a bad life at all!
give me the courage to change the things i can, accept the things i cannot change. and the wisdom to know the difference
oh, Ata. I hope all works out well for you. {{hugs}}
lol Dorens! enjoy your cookies :D
love that quote Kate
Dorens, we'll have to get together for cookies!
bit paraphrased...brain cramp
fa6,33 pls
it'll be fine, Judy. I have a habit of landing in the right places through my life, even if those places weren't entirely expected!
ata, all this well-wishing aside. think very long and hard about your future. work for your marriage. work hard. don't give up. divorce is often a recipe for financial disaster for BOTH of you. give all options careful consideration
May I please have a clue for mo5-18 the 2nd? Thanks
brb
add an almost vowel to the mo4
how you feel during your period
fa6,33
I have, for a good while now. Now, I don't want to, and I'm not going to. I've had enough! *stamps feet* :)

st9 pls, I have the 8
Hi all. Just popping in to see how everyone's getting on.
INSERT vowel to plural
hi Jac!
brb
sort of ...
Ata - (Hugs)
back, sue, add a latin ending to the 8
{{{Ata}}}
?
hi jac
Oddly enough st8 was my last word found, not the st9.
Hi Nef.
hi jac...
TK, my tomatoes are really good this year! <hoarding them right now; don't wanna share!>
Hi red.
I dont get it, I have tummy(first 4), long poem, + vowel
sue, add a vowel for a latin pl.
Nef - sometimes we forget that not everyone studied/studies Latin these days.
pi r squared = *r**
everyone should!
greek root actually
right, should be required in all h.s. english classes
I have to admit that I was cr*p at Latin, well translating English in to Latin, but I could do vice versa very well. It's been one of the most useful languages I've learned, believe it or not.
ditto here, ancient greek too
I hate to admit it but I am really really 100% glad I learned Spanish in High school and not Latin. THough my Dad had taught me Latin as a child so alls well there.
I never studied any language other than English, but I grew up Catholic before Vatican II.
sorry i never studied it. most helpful in parsing meaning of words
Ata - I hope you didn't pull away when I hugged you? I was after those cookies you bought the other day. I can make some more if you'd like? They don't last long in our house!
and I cant figure out the nine either.
red, sue take the st 8 INSERT vowel for pl. ending
so for those who have not studied Latin, are we talking about an ae ending?
JAC!!!! HI
Yes, sue.
Hi Kate.
yes sue. but greek this time
the cookies have long gone! :D oh please do! make more! loads more!
I tried it and not getting it at the end of the word
It isnt the ae ending...
(INSERT VOWEL
do you have the st8, red? the ending of the 9 is (as BR and TK have said: pi r squared == *r*ea
ea ending
All I know in greek is how to say "hello, how are you"
Opps sorry.8R**
Sorry, Sue, yes Greek ending. I get my languages all furgled up sometimes. LOL
ea ending for st8
Oh HECK! Someone ELSE please clue!
insert vowel for st 9 (pl.)
urf, those words are hell to clue
How about Welsh, Sue? 'Diolch yn fawr?' 'Dda iawn, diolch? A chi?'
*R** rug for ending
lol jacula
aaaaaaaaaaaak
I am happy I am passing English
Just kidding, Sue, though that is real Cymwraig.
Got it
Yup, jac, I sang in a Gymanfa chorus...
YEAH SUE
lol
lots of unusual sounds in the welsh language...
4 left
Ata - e-mail me your address and I will post as many cookies as you want.xx
welsh is all greek to me
awwwwwww :) but I really need to go back on my diet now. being in america for a month is hell for eating diet-ly *sigh*
The Welsh language isn't difficult once you know the alphabet. It only gets difficult when you are taught the 'proper' way to say something and are then told 'but we don't actually say that, we say this...' and ten there's the difference between North and South Welsh language.
jac can make you lo-cal cookies
Ata - I can believe that, but a little of what you fancy does you good.
Kate - I can.
yes, yes it does. hence the cookies that sparked the whole she-bang the other day!
red how did you come to sing in welsh chorus?
tell me about it ata, and I live in America all the time!
Kate - LOL. I think Welsh is the one language that contains no Greek.
may i have recipe jac?
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
amen sister jac!
Oddly Trader it was in oregon, they had flyers up for it, so I joined up, it was really great!
hi min
hi minver
Ata - I know about that. I mentioned it to reassure you that it's him with the problem, not you.
Hi Min.
it really is. stupid man!
not the sort of thing you expect to stumble on in oregon....
Shall we commence the man bashing?
No, Kate, but in a University town all sorts of odd things crop up...I suppose.
Don't let me stay here too late, you lot, 'Cos I have to be out by 3 mins past 12 (noon) to take Stepdaughter to get her school uniform ready for the new school year on 7th Sept.
let's give it a rest...tell me about your gardens
I have no garden. someone has to have one though.
fa6,33?
oh, happy days are here again...the kids are back in school again....happy days are here again
30 mins past 12, I meant. My error this time, can't blame it on a dirty keyboard 'cos Beloved took the whole thing apart on Saturday morning and de-ashed and de-crumbed it.
May I please have a clue for ea5-10? Thanks
and thououghly berated you for being the cause of his travails...
fa6/33 - the realm the adorers of famous people live in?
NM...found it.

Thanks, sue.
Hello gapeach1066!How are you? Welcome to the grid

glad he owned up to his share of keyboard fiasco
peach, hi
Jac, can you spell it out
Hey there, Minveryork. I'm OK today....trust you are well?
Hello, TraderKate.
I am well but tired. Babysat niece and nephew all day
Kate - I've no need to manbash Beloved. He's the guy I found a decade after I'd sworn I'd never be bitten again after my marriage.
Sue - spell what out?

Min - how old are they?
fa6
hiya minveryork

6 TraderKate.
fa6/33 please?
8:36 for fa 6
fa* (someone who follows something or someone) + first 3 letters of what's on the top of St. Paul's Cathedral in London, UK.
Hey there, red. How are you this evening?
Go gapeach1066 go!

My niece is in 4th grade & my nephew is in 2nd grade

thanks ata, now off to figure it out.
Mine are 25, 22 and 14.
it's a vaguely normal word, red
red do you have ca 6 / 21 it's the pl.
Hello all. Latin course is finished. I'm no expert but have time for babble and great to see so many frineds on board.
A ca 7/32 word is ca 6/21 word plus a vowel Atalante
Nope no 6 either. I dont have list so hmmm.
arggg ok an 4/4 means each tile is worth 1 point, correct?
think mexican/spanish refreshment stand?
Hi stidgmere! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
ca6/21 = ca + a number + a vowel. ca7 adds another vowel at the end.
what feline ears should becalled :P
taco van?
Hi stidgmere.
that's it red
yes, aff
ca 6/21 is ca + anagram of Mr. Hawthorne nickname.
lol
Thank you Minveryork, I'm fine and feeling frisky without homework.
Ata - LOL! Good clue.
but but but, tack van doesnt fit!
hammer and tongs should be allowed tools for this game
oops taco. but I got the other words thanks all.
Stidgmere - frisky? Is that something you want our daughter to read on here? LOL
lol, I'm glad someone understood, Jac!
Your daughter, I meant.
Frisky jac,,, not risque!
<drives pencil point deep into forehead, quits game>
You can't imagine how many times I've missed the 'y' off that work and worried people. LOL
aff don't quit
afflamed - as a WoW afficianado, you should be used to quick moves and slow plotting.
Goodbye afflamed!I will see you tomorrow in the chat
what do you need
go go aff! it gets easier, I promise
Aff - you CAN do it.
lol i swear Ive forced into play every 1 point tile combo possible with AN being first of 4 tiles
did she poof ?
Ok people, I must go to bed. 29 left, Ohwell, work gets in the way.
May I please have a clue for te6-18? Thanks
aff, don't think you have to get all the words all of the time it is a sign of strength to let some just go. And frisky is NOT a bad thing.
Sweet dreams, red.
an 4 / 4 against
aff; go the OTHER direction
'Night red.
te 6 renter
gn red sleep well
Many thanks, TraderKate.
stidgmere, I didn't day frisky was bad, but I just had a vision of you chasing the gardener around the lawn. LOL
the other direction (left) is all N's? like annn
The te6/18 word is someone who rents gapeach1066
Thanks, Min.
Gardener? Hmm do we have one? No. That would be my husband.
how many peachy?
yw
an4 (against) = an* (small pest) + a vowel, afflamed.
Stidgmere - even better! LOL
very well clued jac! clear and concise
Stig - so long as he isn't runing away in fear of his wallet being emptied.
Thank you for the an word. I was flailing.
oh my ever loving jesus. how obvious was that? <--retard
i dont know why i couldnt see the jump diagonal
Wallet been emptied long ago. We are trying to spend it all before it disappears through no fault of our own. We want it to be our fault that we're broke.
the obvious can be the most elusive...#%@*%%!
3 left, TraderKate.
When I kissed my Other Half 'for being a lovely man' the other night, his hand went to his pocket to cover his wallet and he looked worried at what was simply a loving gesture after I'd read some bad stories about men on the chog here.
which ones?
i am sure it has been clued but i don't know when. any help on the 8 and 9 - letter words?
Well, there are still a few good men but I have mine and don't want anyone elses.
LOL@ JACULA
it's nice that you appreciate what you have jac
do5-14 and io6-21.
that's the bugaboo today steph...
stidgmere - is that because of 'care home' rules like here in UK? They'll take your house to pay for care and if they can 'prove' that you gave everything away to your kids to avoid paying care fees, they'll try to claw it back?
I just ended my 2nd marriage (20 years) and can assure you a good man is a rare thing
do 5/14 italian sweets
That io6/21 word is io plus da 4/5 word gapeach1066
Thanks Min and TraderKate.
still looking (not very hard) aff. never found one
afflamed - Oh, so sorry to hear that. I still haven't got over first 20-year marriage ending.:(
steph thinking of clue
yw
TraderKate, don't know Italian sweets. Tanks anyway.
appreciate it
Crap...Thanks anyway.
Hello Stephanaki! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
thanks!
actually im ok with it. the x had bipolar disorder and i just became overwhelmed with the disease - his behavior was out of control
st 8 & 9 s + *** cat + short word for poem + vowel
st8 + st + 'not a rocker but one of the others that fought on Brighton Beach in 60s' + first vowel, then 2nd, then first again.
bipolar is not easy to deal with for anyone
it's greek the 9 is the pl. INSERT vowel at end for pl.
Autism is also dificult to deal with in a partner.
how did you manage to cope aff? that's awful!
i believe Ive found the right one this time. we were friends for 2 years before we became interested seriously - and i think thats really the way to do it
Aff - how long did your 1st marriage last?
a little asperger's isn't too bad....makes life interestin
folic is an adj in chemistry
WOW! Those clues worked. Was tough. Would have never got it on my own. thank you.
my first marriage was 10 years - his alcoholism did me in
Aff - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Never give up on finding the one.
agree dc...should be allowed. also as acid supplement
my second husband wasnt diagnosed till 3 years ago, all those years i just thot he was a split personality - sometimes great sometimes horrid
my current BF is a dear dear man. Hes really special
Sean, I wonder why it won't take that? Folic acid is in prenatal vitamins
Trouble with many women (myself included and now I see my daughter doing it) is that we often look to men who 'need us'. Thing is... need I say more?
mental health care and stuff in Astoria area *sucks*
May I please have a clue for do5-14? Thanks
And, oftimes, when you HAVE 'sorted them' out, they don't want you any more.
oh man no kiddin, theres a lady here in town that runs a support group thats great but shes personally funded, no assistance from state
A harsh lesson to learn.
DO NOT TRY TO PROBE THE MIND OF DR_GOD. you could bring a plague of locusts upon us
italian sweets peach
lol, when hes healthy he wants me, when hes sick hes off the charts with partying and womanizing. Id had enuf
I think there was a movie La Vita do***.
one of my friends went to Columbia Memorial a few weeks ago telling them he was homicidal and suicidal. They sent him home with an ativan
canadian tv show too stidg
or la Do*** Vita, stidg?
Don't know Italian sweets, TraderKate, but thanks anyway.
oh my lord. 1 ativan wont do anything
tell me about it! It was SO stupid.
ata, that's scary
columbia mem hosp is by far the WORST hosp Ive ever encountered
For do5 - put a different vowel on the end of the word stigm just clued.
will parse out...
A do5/14 is uses five letters of word meaning readily trained or taught; teachable gapeach1066.
they have more situations of mistakes ever
it's awful. a good friend works there and she hates it too
if u ever are taken there just remember - REFER TO PORTLAND lol
ohhhh yes

and it's so inefficient. the staff can't wheel patients between buildings, they have to get an ambulance to come to the front doors and drive them between the buildings
Thanks, Stidgmere, Jacula and Min.
my BF is on his way home so im going to make him help me in babble lol
yw
Well that does it for this one. Thanks to all of "my peeps". See y'all at the flip.
Anyway, aff, have you been sucked into the chog community totally or are you still looking for grid words? LOL. I take it someone did trot out the usual addiction warning when you entered this site? *grins*
yw
'Nigh Gap.

Yes, TraderKate, thanks for your help.
congrats peach, see ya tomorrow
*is learnign to be a walking dictionary*
Anyway, how did you know what my kids' nickname for me was, afflamed?

Ata - I thought you were first a foremost(ly) a dog walker?
I need the do5/14 and do5/16 please anyone?
Ive always felt very confidant with my intelligence - till i met my BF, my god hes so bright. Im very proud of him lol
Ata's photostream is fantastic. Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, do take a look.
true, true. can I be both? not sure
nice aspirational job...
went and looked, got lost
clues for the first fa5 pls?
do5.14 is the first 4 letters of a former shoe chain (Italian, I think).
do5.16 is a grand old (rich) lady.
do 5/16 = do + japanese dollar
it's all jumbled up at the moment, I need to reorder it. I did a huge great big photo dump when I left the US
Thanks Jacula and gortmold. Appreciate your help.
fa 5 / 16 first part of what tinkerbelle is + slang for no
Sorry - the shoe company name was a UK barrow man and the pinched the name off a swiss sock.
fa 5/16: 1st three letters of old fashioned Tinkerbell spelling plus **t King Cole gortmold & hi! How are you?
Hello BettyAnne! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
Congratulations gapeach1066 on fireworks! Hooray!
Hi Minveryork. Thanks for the welcome. I am now finished so I will say good night everyone.
thanks tra and min, champion cluers both
Goodnight BettyAnne.

Goodbye BettyAnne!I will see you tomorrow in the log

congrats betty
Ata - so many fantastic pics. I wish I had the camera to do mine half as well.
Thanks TraderKate! I think some would beg to differ.
seen your clues, always excellent
4 left, M's and D's wouldn't you know?
I stole evil husband's camera when I went to Astoria. Hence decent pictures!
gort what are you looking for?
LOL, Ata.
the st 8 and 9 and the fa6 pls trad
ok
well, better pics :P
st 8 & 9 most requested done about 1/h hr. ago
I'm monkey ing th st 9 and 8 also and could use a clue or two.
yes i know, but if i access the chog archives, my computer freezes
2 left; D's demolished!
st 8 s+ *** cat + short word for poem + vowel
fa6 = fa* (follower of a rock star/famous person) + first 3 letters of the rounded top on St. Paul's catherdral in London, UK. (Designed by Sir Chirsopher Wren)
Or even Christopher.
fa 6/30 is past tense of what one might have if they do not have air conditioning. st 8/50 is s + *** Cruise plus od 4/5 word gortmold. Don't have st9 word yet.
the st 9 is the pl. greek, INSERT vowel at end to pl.
st8/9 first half of tummy + long poem + vowel, that's the 8.
what min said...
gort - the best way, believe it or not, to access the chog archives is to do it through Internet Explorer. Firefox always has a hissy fit over doing it
Thank you minver for the st 8
Wheee - fireworks!
I'd never play Babble in IE, but if I want to check back on the archives...
hissy fit?
i use explorer, but my puter is struggling old dottard who just can't cope with any extras
woo woo jb
whoooo hooooo JB!!
Congratulations JBsAnno on fireworks! Good for you!
Kate - it has a tantrum (hissy fit).
english for tantrum
Hey, lb!! Hi, Minver! Hey, TKate, I'm back!! (finally)
I've always used Internet Explorer with no problems.
dawg came back!
Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
If Herin's correct - the Aussie term for that is 'pissy'.
it's nice to see you, JB!! yeah, TK, can't get rid of me for too long! lol
english for tantrum: itching for a spanking?
yes, just didn't realize they happened in cyberspace
Hi lbd.
Hi Min, i'm doing well, how about yourself?
I flip flop between IE and Firefox, and iPod Touch wireless at work. They block Babble site on desktop, but not on wireless, so I can play on breaks.
What a nice group to help but I'm prying myself from the keyboard and wandering upstairs. Best wishes to all.
night night, stidgmere

awwmmmmm
hi shoo
hey, that's my shirt!
hi
Thanks, everybody. I had wandered off to eat some grapes (from the garden, also). I will put several baskets of grapes in the PB, they are white table grapes that can be used for wine; but we will use them for jelly and juice
What's grass got to do with, dcs? Sung in Tina Turner tones. LOL
min what next?
ty nef...you're so kind
they were mowing along the roads on the way home.
*Snaffles Nef's grapes and puts them in her freezer for future use* My vines aren't old enough to fruit yet.
how's it going, shoo?
any one who can talk to her sister and keep her from messing up on the computer is very competent and patient to me!!
got a huge headache tonight...
Hello dcseain! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
you FREEZE grapes, Jac? I never thought that would wok
too bad i can't use you for a work reference
It does, Nef.
don't they explode?
yeah
sorry about the headache. stress, heat?
(DARN!! That reminds me I'd better freeze the chicken I cooked before our dtr gets home! BRB!)
You can do it with most soft fruits, including blueberries.
okay if you're makin' jelly i guess
ooh, frozen grapes are yummy, especially on a hot day
frozen grapes are yummy
Strawberries don't respond that well, end up mushy like tinned ones.
I freeze grapes that have been left too long in the bowl and they plump up nicely and taste good and cold when frozen
toss them in a glass of wine, soda or juice, yummy
i lived in a house for a while where grapes left in a basket in the kitchen pass-through became raisins. yummy yummy fresh raisins
I'd better give you lot my fresh fruit salad recipe soon, I guess.
mmmm frozen grapes
frozen grapes are for making ice wine with..any othe r use is unacceptable
ANyone who reads my private blog will a;aready know it.
good idea dawg
well if it is private why would I read it??
I liked conversant lbd
Kaye - grape jelly is wonderful, you make it with your favourite wine and then add fruit and cream.
gotta go lbd....good luck on filling out the app. night night
bye shoo
night night, hope the headache goes away soon. love ya.
Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hi min
What are you doing up at this ungodly hour, Jacula? Shame on you!!! ;)
Hello J.C.! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
when i come over the pond, i'm definitely hoping for an invite...<big smiley face>
*looking at the J.C. kettle*
you should talk, JC
Goodbye shooshoo! I will see you tomorrow in the log
hi everyone - my kids used to love frozen grapes - round popcicles
jmc - some people on here do read my blog, which is why I said that. I had to make it private after a local hospital DJ picke up on something in my blog and had a go at my daughter about it.
she keeps ours much like yours, JC, and always has in the time i've been acquainted with her
brb
DJ?
hi Luw
hi luw
TK are you still braising those ribs?
quick babble between writing letters back to my students
Hi, J>C> I could ask you the same question! Incidentaly, I read you funny old world article in this week's WW about vacuum cleaners.
braised ribs?----ymu!!!!
I see, I see, Séain . . .
Oh yes, Jacula? :P
Kate - you can come here for a meal any time.
Jac what is a DJ? (besides a disk jockey)
Check your e-mail by the way, Séain and Jacula . . .
You might have a good laugh! ;)
And yes, lbdawger - I should talk, which is why I did. ;)
disgusting jerk, dirty jack***, dimpled juju?
OH, I've added more photos of my pets to the stream at the link in my bio, now . . .
she meant disc jockey I think
i did, and loved the hamsters!
jmc - I was talking about a disc jockey in that instance.
Okay J.C. Will go and look.
Those are guinea pigs, Séain . . .
yes dawg, just went to stir them lovingly. they're starting to fall apart now...getting very tender. soon will be time to reduce liquid to wonderful sauce
a hospital disc jockey???
I used to keep guinea pigs, as a boy . . .
Hence my 'angels'. :P
Discos in hospitals now? :P
Boogie on down . . .
lol at poster child, JC
trader you are making me hungry and I just came back from a lovely dinner
J>C> surely you remember bieing interviewed by WW? If not, then I know the column is a sham, since they knew you were in Edinburgh and must've looked it up to make the column seem current otherwise.
HAHAHA - recognise him, lbdawger? ;)
yep, on hospital radio
hamsters and guinea pigs are almost indistinguishable to me, but noted :)
oh yes, JC. striking!
Back again. Now Jac, please tell me how you freeze your grapes
Did I say I didn't? :P
how odd (to me) -- why on earth would he attack our daughter??
jmc - Hospital Radio - have you never heard of it? This partcular DJ has delusions of granduer.
jmc how wad your dinner? what did you have?
figures, the wines of NZ tasting is while i'm at work :/
Erm, Séain - there is quite a difference between the two, not only in size, but shape, type of fur (texture), etc.
I had gazpacho and a lovely blue cheese burger
shooshoo brought home a guinea pig from elementary school, to take care of it over the summer, we had that rodent for forever! she died when shoo was in High school.
never heard of hospital radio -- maybe it's british
mmmm... gazpacho
yummy on a summer evening, jmc...beverage?
Yes, they can live several years, lbdawger . . .
i'm sure there is, but i still have trouble telling them apart mostly, JC
lots of water and a glass of chardonny
like some can't tell seals from sea lions
Hmmm, Séain . . . I don't know about you, then! ;)
must be, it's like community radio for the poor people bored in hospital beds
she was a good rodent, except for screeching everytime the fridge door opened. hard to raid the larder with her around
you mean lots of chardonnay and a glass of water, don't you, jmc?
You should go look at some, some time - you'd see why.
it was quite goo gazpacho even though it looked like Campbells Cream of tomato
ick jmc. member of abc club
i kept rats for years
not tonight dc lol I wasn't paying so I showed restraint
Didn't really matter in the end about the DJ, since most of the 'kids' he was addresing and trying to whip up into a frenzy about 'some woman who didn't even know the dead boy' was talking about it on the internet are friends of my kids and so know me. As I've said before, though I did not know the lad in person, I had has best friend breaking his heart here in my house.
should gaz. be that thick?
ergh, rats! college roommate had one. it insisted on napping on my bed pillows! YUCK
Oh, probably because she expected treats, lbdawger. I had one that used to start squealing excitedly at that, because one of us would usually bring out some vegetables, and cut up treats for them . . . they are quite intelligent little creatures, and figure these things out.
how awful, jac :(
are you asking trader? no i am not
dawg! don't you like disease bearing flea- ridden rodents?
i kept my caged but for supervised play time. all the better to taunt the cats with :)
I have seen gazpacho a number of different ways including with chunks of bread in it
TK, NO!!!
sad story jac
Guinea pigs LOVE fresh melon and you'll never hear them squeal more excitedly than when they smell that coming.
only had it once. it was more of a thin broth with the veg. bits in it
gazpacho varies by family/region/ingredients in terms of flavor, texture, and piquancy
love gazpacho, so easy to make. the one with bread in it is a take on putanesca (sp)
most pet rats are small and cute -- but I still don't like them
Oh yes, Jacula . . .
in spain, i learned that gazpacho should be thin enough to drink from a glass. Mexican is thicker and chunkier.
roomy's rat was clean, i just didn't and still don't think of rats as pets.
it is my favorite summer dish except for a vegetable supper -- a southern tradition
does your g. pig make that funny chirpy purr?
They often look diappointed when apple arrives, don't they J..?
I used to gazpacho bloody marys
Mine used to, yes Kate - they all do.
and groundsel. my guinea pig adored groundsel
thank you for gaz. clarity, dc...
my "broth" is like a virgin bloody mary. very spicy, then add all the chunks of veggies.
lbd,did you know that rats have very poor bladder control?
grondsel?
G/pigs have a whole language, Kate. You learn to interpert it all when you've had them around for mas many years as I have.
groundsel?
yuck, NEF!! i'm so glad college years and memories are so far in the past!!!
my home gazpacho is made with chunks of my homegrown organic tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers and basil, parsley and balsamic vinegar and olive oil
I thought that would really help! ;-)
Ata - I've never tried giving them that. It''s the one weed tha t hasn't appeared in my present garden.
um, it's this yellow flowered weed thing!
only knew one g. pig in passing many yuears ago. they do seem nice
my guinea used to literally climb the walls of her hutch to get to groundsel
ANyone know if 'bitter vress' is okay for g/pigs? Got lots of that at the moment.
what IS groundsel?
google images makes groundsel look like dandylions
i use tomato, cucumber, garlic, basil, olive oil, and a splash of sherry vinaigre
yummy dc
it turns out having a liquidy base with very small chunks of goodness
*smack* how could I have forgotten the garlic
i toss in zuccini along with all you listed, dc
brb
well I need to go pack all the zucchini I grated for the freezer
lbd, that's what I was wondering: is groundsel the same as dandylions?
must go, early morning again. see you all tomorrow!
I don't like zuke in my gaspacho
Nef - a form of stonecrop. I would give you a pic to refer to butthe pics on the net could be confused with ragowrt, which is very poisonous/
bye lbd
Nef, that's what the pictures look like, at least for the US variety.
what is stonecrop?
i shall have to do some googling :)
bye all see you later! *waves*
'Bye lbd.
night night everyone! *poof*
I noticed that, lbd. That's why I asked in the first place.
nite dawg
g'night dawg
Nite, lbd!
bye jmc
stonecrop is a type of sedum
not the same as dandelions, the flowers are much smaller and they have several flowers per stem. but the same basic idea, yep
J.C, - just got the pic you e-mailed, Is that you?
jac isn't it 4 or 5 a.m. there?
4am ish
Nothing like dandelions realy are they, Ata? Can you find some on your next walk to photograph correctlyu?
4.02am
Kate, I don't think Jac sleeps; she's here late most evenings
ouch! are you all bonkers?
or insomniacs?
I *think* I might have a pic, let me look
Kate - you're quite right - Myself, Ata and J.C. are all vampires. So watch out!
jac seems to be going 24/7
here: http://tinyurl.com/kvedja
No Kate - I'm not there in the daylight hours (heh, heh) Check the archives.
i had to scramble for my coffin this morning. the rays of ra were creeping steadily toward me, trying to obliterate me
yes, no jacula mid-morning through aternoons, EST
Ata - great pic. That's the one. Well done.
that's why i haven't seen you much...just missing you i guess
however, although Jacula isn't here, jacq IS! Maybe that's why you are confused, Kate
No Nef - jacq isn't the same person as me.
oh, that stuff grows in the West, but i've never seen it here in the East. We wondered at it in Oregon last summer, we'd never sen it
actually, sometimes confuse jai and jac...difficult when no face to match to name. and icons keep changing
oh, Jac, I know that; but she was here today and so was Kate. I thought maybe that was why Kate thought you were here 24/7
If you check back long enough in the archives you will see us there together. I know she often sounds and reads like me, but it isn't me. She's from Scotland.
Well my face in on my icon right now (on the left).
she's not as - opinionated - as our dear Jac :P
see you with who jac?
ata
Ata - I'm the Queen of Non-PC.
*grin*
i'm soooooooooooo confused...
Jac and jacq
love non-pc
ok thanks nef....
I NEED A SCORECARD TO IDENTIFY PLAYERS
must get out tweezers and finish husking corn...slightly o/c...must remove all cornsilk....back soon
*grins back at Ata. Rule Birttania, and rule all our anestors fought for - a country where we could be free to say wht we want, be friends with whomever we choose - whatever colour, creed or religion any of us might be. And let us also be free to have fruit falling on our heads from the trees above, to fall into a canal or a hole without some bloke in Whitehall giviing us guidelines. Do you know that Wirral Council are now running s scheme to teach people how to catch a bus, work out which bus to get to go where and then awarding them a certificate for the achievement. And, no, this scheme is not for the mentally disabled or those with poor english but for teenagers in the main.
oh my ...
Big sigh, Ata?
<chokes on gin & gatorade> * almost spits it out*!!!
big big sigh
gotta love the government. they all come up with some pretty hare-brained schemes....here too
*Joins Ata in big sigh* Sorry if an unexpected tornado blasts any of you 'over The Pond'.
we had 5 confirmed here last week during big heat...extremely unusual...not exactly tornado alley here
So eloquent, except freedom of speech does not govern a private site like this one ... Dr_God is the arbiter here.
Kate - don't love the Government, 'cos it's OUR money they're spending on these hair-brained things.
2 just north of here 1/2 way between crosshair and me
BRvb's back!
Hi BR. But Dr_God isn't a dictator unless forced to be.
Did not say he was
they do like to spend the cash don't they?
No, I suppose you didn't, BR. But he is the arbiter in the end.
has he actually had to bar anyone?
all the time
he's booted some trolls in the past
I suppose that what I was trying to say, BR, is that he's set this site up ut isn't watching it 24/7 and so he can only go on what he's told when it comes to zapping.
which link is the dictionary?
really...have to mind my p's and q's then
Enable, aff
i use bing , first listing is good
Dr_God was here quite awhile today
kk ty
really? why?
Enable is the dictionary, but you can also try Atz and MoreWords.
Was he, BR?
Both in his Overlord and player outfits
overlord required?
BTW, aff, the little ? before the words you've found takes you to a definition of that word; but the dictionary isn't Enable.
trolls around?
Actually, considering it's bee the school hols for the past month, we have vey little trol avctivity as far as I've seen.
sigh, more trollin, i suppose
good point, jacula
heard troll was here the other day . didn't see though
Nomrally, when it's school hols the little buggerd are there after a week into the hols.
bored i guess?
they need to be put to work
M's mashed! 1 left
I have my own surmise, but speculation has little purpose
But you do realis that now we have mentioned the word troll, that one sad individual who haas been searching for that word on the net is probabluy going to invade us now with gobbledygook or lots of carraige returns with nothing in them?
was on one other site few years back...troll ended up shutting us down...nasty person but just barely under the wire for being barred...would have just signed up ande done it again with snother name
go MIN
You know who I haven't seen in a very long while? Yoink. Does he ever play anymore? I knew him from another game and he and another player told me about this game. I don't think I've seen him in over 2 years....
does garlic work on trolls?
no, but it tastes good
Dr_God does wonders with trolls
brb
he does
Trolls are also always '12 or 13 years old'.
havent seen yoink for ages
Hugs was the other player from the other game. I haven't seen her in a while either....
Having said all that, we had a resident troll on one site I was on. We all knew it was actually twin brothers. One would intereact and be fine and the other could be a real sh*t and very insulting. I learned when each brother might be around and I actively engaged with the bad one and made him talk 'properly'. Anyway, all that aside, when the site as it was close down and a book was to be written and we were asked what should be included and which characters and I said the 'troll' should be, since he was part of the dynamic of the sie, I was shot down in flames by all but about 5 of the 6,000+ members (but only about 400 regulars who all actually knew what was going on there each day).

Congratulations torgone on fireworks! Hooray for U!
Maybe I should write about my friends,b but I don't since the time I poured my heart out to a so-called friend and then read a short story she won a writing competition with which was almost word for word what I'd said to her (in confidence). I don't think you should profit from your friends in that kind of circumstance or without asking them first.

so it looks like the kid who would enjoy visiting your college, pini, can't go with us because of band obligations. So we might give it a miss this time. I'll be in Portland on Sunday, but not sure how long we'll take. I HATE having to change my plans. Was all set for Canada and then that fell through. *sad mama look*
and right now, I just want to stay home anyway and put things to rights while I have strong arms and backs to help me.
I'll grab a pic of the office as it looks today (not nearly as nice as yesterday...)
Well, I'll be here when you want to come down this far, Stid!!! (I'll also let you know when I'm up your way again, too!)
thanks. I know that all these classes and things will pay off (eventually) but right now I really resent having NO summer two summers in a row!
brb
I sorta know what you mean...and it too shall pass! :)
wicked, wicked mama! some of us slaved over a hot pc for hours to complete this....* feels stupid and sorry for self * <kicks clod of dirt in lone desolation>
awwww, TK...
silly question perhaps...is the ezboard username and password the same as my babble one?
...she's a Babble Master! I just hope I can finish before she does at least a few times!!! LOL
hi babble buddies
hey DR
ezboard?
Hi Pini- the icon is still adorable
For the Babblers Anonymous
not sure...never looked there...hold on...
you are all masters of Babble...I am merely its slave!!!
TK_ we were all slaves once
brb- jake going to bed
didn't realize i was sooooo masochistic
stiddie - you didn't miss anything this year...summer was apparently cancelled for the most part
julie...where are you seeing "ezboard" on that page?
Sunnflower, formarely 'Ferrari' I think, is the one you need to aspire to beat now. Sprite is second, through ill health.
*wanders back in and hugs Kate before wandering off again*
Oh, there are many, jac...that I aspire to try and match!!!
It said to sign in using my ezboard username and psword. That's okay, don't worry about it. I would prob just lurk anyway. *grin*
ezboard is the Babblers' Anonymous board.
This is the only reference I see on the page: You have been upgraded to Yuku. Please login with your ezboard username and ezboard password. (not sure what it means tho)
That's the firm that took the BabAnon board over a while ago.
Jac...is it something I/we should know about?
Hello gang
No, just log in as you did in the first place.
hi jilli
Hi jilli.
TK -- where stid and I are the summer weather has been wonderful but with almost no rain for the plants
hmmm...will try it another time maybe
Teddy Kenndedy died then, jilli.
same here, jilli...
Jac, I was the first one to tell the chat that last night -- had the news on.
thanks, jil. thought most of n. america was cool this year. you are in the same town?
Chappaquiddick.
Yes, Jilli...you beat Twitter last night. :)
thanks for hug, stiddie. was feeling rather dejected
TK...whereabouts in the US are you? or are you?
funny, funny stiddie
no, TK -- stid is in Olympia, WA, I'm in Salt Pring Island, BC -- much the same weather.
i'm in the GREAT WHITE NORTH. where we all live in igloos and haver polar bears for pets
<-- 4 hours south of stid! :)
I know, jilli - I saw you report that when I checked the archives.
I used to live up there, TK...could almost see Russia if I were that close to the coast! ROFL
can't keep you all straight geographically yet. i'm working on it
Jill -- I NEVER post my location. Or the names of my kids, for that matter...
I believe TK is in the Centre of the Universe, aka Toronto, ON
sorry, stid
stid - but you Do, to those that know you.
Fortunately, I do not actually live in Olympia, just attend school there. No harm, no foul.
TK -- do you click on the icons? Lots of info there.
didn't mean to open can of worms.
only in private communications, Jac -- never in open forums.
Sometimes, we think we;re aying nothing, but when you put all the net stuff together, we've said far more than we think we have. Just an abservation taken from my own experience.
yes i look at icons, but can't refer to them constantly. will get it all eventuallly
it's okay Kate -- some people are more comfortable disseminating locational information. I would be more likely to be comfortable if I hadn't worked in a field where releasing personally identifying information can be dangerous (don't work there any more)
Sorry for typing errors but i's 5.43 am here.
I've considered building a spreadsheet to keep track myself, TK!!!
I was amazed that I got an email from someone in England who had, via Google, found me from a remark I made in the chat about a school I went to. Luckioly he was a great guy and a big help to me in a techie way.
Toronto is NOT center of universe. the CBC did a show last year csalled "Everyone hates Toronto" very good.
I know where people are in general -- states, countries... but we're such a BIG group of people here that my only question usually is "what day is it where you are?" LOL
pinin, pass one on to me.
no kidding, stid!!!
its not difficult to click on peeps pics and KNOW where they are - the net is not a secure place ever.
really? EVeryone hates Toronto??? *curious mama look* for why? I thought Walla Walla was the armpit of the universe!
pinini, eh? there's a new one! * giggle *
brb grumpy dog time
speaking of...Koda break and jammie time! (back for flip)
ok I am back
When we lived in Toronto 1948-54 it was an overgrown village -- no such thing as an apartment building. So its an upstart compared to Montreal which has a long history.
it is possible to click on pic propeerties to see more than the shower meant to show.
Words of warning.
brb
there is a perception that people from toronto think canada revolves around them. (cdn financial center). kinda like new yorkers might be viewed in states. everyone loves to hate toronto. well almost everyone...
DR! did hubby recover?
Hi, y'all
yes Stid- thanks for asking... he is finally no longer coughing up a lung
hey jai!
Hey, Stid {{{{{hugs}}}}}}
JAI !!!
Hi Jai
Well Other Half is up now and is p*ed off with me for still being up when I have to take his daughter schoool uniform shopping later.
thanks for hug stiddie
Did he think I was a saint?
TKate{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}
a saintly vampire???
glad to hear, DR.
thank you
oh oh, Jac! (but why does he not take said offspring hisself?)
< hugs jai back> still workin' on the vibes...
Did he not realise how f*cking p*ssed off I am with her real Mum for still being with that pervert? How can she share a room with him, let alone a life?
TKate.hen are you going Pro?
I'm staying up to see the flip, then I must walk the mutt before the predicted thunderstorms arrive
stid - he's working and he's given me £200 cash to take her to get uniform.
hello Atalante!
17 left - oh well next time lol
hi ata :)
my house is quiet.. hubby and kid are both in bed as is thedog
I am going to depart a little early today. I just realized that in searching for something this morning I COMPLETELY submerged my bed in boxes *sigh* I really must get a handle on this...
oh Stid. :(
My house is quiet, too {{{{favorite time of day}}}}}
ah. I know he works hard, Jac. Just seems you have a lot to do some days.
me too jai
ta - you've had no sleep. I hope the mutt knows the way to walk.xx
LOL DR! it'll be okay. someday. *stage whisper* (anyone got a match?)
hopefully :P
hear that, everyone? School uniforms in the UK. No fashion competition.
just put it all in the closet
I have TNT, need a match.....also
well... *dragging feet* see you-all tomorrow. *giggling at Jill thinking no uniform=no competition* jill, you're a silly!
my son wore school unifroms for 4 years Jilli
*just kidding
*grin* that's where the mess emanated from, DR!
My kids ALL wore uniforms
we must be related Stid. : )
I would put kids in uniforms in a flash if it meant no more tummies and other body parts flopping out!
I have a good memory of school days there, stid, compared to the US, age 13.
That's why our schools did it
probably, DR. I bet we're cousins like Scrabs and me...
jilli - are you kidding? School uniforms never stopped any child competing. LOL. I must post my old school pics on flickr one day.
probably
hello
U.S. uniforms are still competitive in my experience. The fabrics, the choices of stockings and shoes even. It's a never-ending battle.
also depends how strict the school is with the uniform
Hi, ML!
Guesses?
Incidentally, Stid, talking of cousins etc.,a few of mine have come out of the woodwork onf Facebook now.
HI Jaia
hi Mlf
I guess it depends on the school.
hi DR
i hope the next gruid is big and fun
back now. short rib emergency...
136
oh well... I am away. *leaves BIG pile of really good choclits on table* that's nice, Jac! Fun sometimes to see people in unexpected places. *poof*
grid oops
hello all newcomers
Bye Stidster!
bye stidmama
Bye Stiddie!
newcomers?
Our uniforms at Malvern were pretty nice and useful beyond school.
I think our uniforms are generally more specific than yours. It's not "tartan skirt" but tartan skirt bought from this shop in this style in this colour
Ata - Our local high school is strict but tends to ease off later into the year. However, there'es a new headmaster, so he might be a maniacal new broom for a while, hence me getting her 'tailored trousers' later ratther than the 'tight black fashionn trousers' that are not allowed, of which she has at leat 6 pairs.
how could she go so close to flip?
stid! not staying for the flip?
jaia 136?
