Have just been doing my own thing today in between running around with daughter - she and my son have settled their house today and got the keys.
oh congrats!!!
It's a good thing for them but the house is going to be sooooo quiet once they move in
will take some adjusting
em5 nest all over :(
Certainly will - with both of them going at once - husband and i will have to learn to keep each othr company again
when our daughter first moved out, it took me about 6 mos to acclimate; now I only have bouts of homesickness every once in awhile
Mind you the house is only 1km from here so I;m sure they will be here often - and us there helping to paint etc
very fortunate; my daughter lives 2.5 hours away, so it would be wonderful to be that close
Better get going to organise things - we are having dinner (take a way) there and drinks to celebrate
have fun and congrats again!
Nite all
I don't even KNOW 19 K words. Morning all.
good morning sprite, I just arrived too.
Marmar! Long time ago, hope all is well.
Hello sprite :)
I know, I hardly ever chat anymore and I hardly ever see you here.
jilli :) *hugs*
Hi Jilli, Dee Anike...everyone.
Hi marmar!
I am around, but not all days anymore and not always at same time. But I still love the game and many of the chatters.
Sprite got me obsessing over those k words....I have only one so far.
I plead innocent, your honor. I didn't put that darn K there.
I followed a chat with you and DC the other day, did not want to butt in. Are you having some health problems?
Your honor, the accused was CLEARLY trying to distract me with the elusive K's! You have no choice but to convict!
please feel free to butt in always, Marmar, chat isn't exclusive and we love to 'see' you. Yeah, health is sucking atm. Must call later today and hope they will have the results of the X-rays.
X-rays? Of what, sprite?
your honor, I object! Neither inserting that K nor putting the dreaded amount of 19 next to it was my doing. It is clear that warning others cannot be construed as complicity to the crime.
lower back, jilli. My feet are losing their feeling, and the doc thinks it is due to nerve damage.
God bless you friend. Keep us up-to-date with progress and healing.
I will, the care of my babble friends means a lot to me.
Oh, good luck -- hope they can fix things for you
I hope so too, jilli. If it isn't fixable, the wheelchair is looming again and I sooooo don't want it. *stamps feet and indulges in tantrum*
evening all :))
hi mrP
Hi mrP
hi sprite! (hugs) long time no see!
Hi mrp!
hi mar & jilli :))
indeedy! Incompatible schedules, I think.
bloody too busy lately! but am now cozy and home for a couple of weeks :)
If this grid has so many words, how come I can only find 36 of them?
oh nice! Nothing like peace at home after a period of business.
I know 12 K words. I think that is incredibly great. But babble is not content with this feat.
Fantastic considering there are no kn words...
too true! That would help. I just tried a couple of ks words, lol.
sprite, I keep trying to get out of soccer, but they keep pulling me back in! The season is over, but I am still doing work and organising off-season stuff
Good morning/evening all.
morning Haz
hello haz
lol mrP, that means you either enjoy it too much in secret, or you still haven't learned to say NO (as I often cannot seem to do either)
Hello, hello. Nice grid so far.
Hi Haz. Mr. P, ya gotta learn how to say "no". (It's hard for me too)
Haz, am happy for you. I am still inventing K words, so I am not enjoying the grid yet.
Hi Haz
I'm lulling the k words into a false sense of security by ignoring them. Hello Jillibus.
oow smart!
After 5 years of being the "room mother" for one or the other of our kids in kindergarten my husband forbid me to volunteer the 6th year.
should I frown over forbidding husband or did he give you the extra backbone to do what you really wanted?
Sometimes a forbidding husband is just what you need to save you from yourself.
Did I offend you in any way, Marmar? If so, I apologise, I didn't mean to at all.
Hi
hi lady
Hello. Mr pres N O greatest word in the english language
Hi OSGD
Hello herin.
Hi OSGMA
Hi I was changing icon....I hope
didn't work...I'll try again
it worked, Marmar, sweet dog!
Ah ha, Seeing all those dogs made me want to post a Monty pic!
very sweet and so happy. A pic that makes me smile.
Your pup is so sweet! So big!!
he was only 8 or 9 weeks on that pic, so cute.
Hi Lady!
overseas grandma?
looks cuddly, marmar :)
Yep
yes, sprite ;)
Hi Marma.
hah, I managed to remember correctly. *notch on pillar*
back to the forbidding husband, no, it was the right thing for me at that time. I was way over-booked in every facet of my life and I needed to say "no".
Clever sprite :)
wtg then Marmar. Saying no can be so very hard to do, but usually once you did, you feel the relief of knowing it was the right thing to do.
hehehe jilli, piece of brain back in working order feels good!
Yes, now I say it all the time..just kidding. I do like to volunteer but I have to set my boundries.
Marmar. Kick him if he doesn't behave
being able to say 'no' makes your 'yes' more valuable.
I'm snacking on dried cranberries, walnuts and 70% cocoa content bitterchocolate with a green tea on the side, I recommned it highly! Very tasty.
Yes, violence is surefire way to peace
sounds good to me
don't understand your po4, BabbleRabble, and hi.
Now with 80 left and nbt I'm off to bed -- night all!
Hi BabRab
Good night, jillibus.
Hi BabRab
sleep well, jilli, and dream even better
Oh, goodnight Jilli!
Night Jill.
Herin suggested kicking Marmar's husband to make him behave. Suggesting the same thing for a husband to do to a wife would result in uproar.
Hey I meant that as a um metaphor. Just ignore him if he is being a dumbarse
oh now I get it. Thanks Haz. I'd say husband deserved a thank you there, for helping Marmar set her boundaries though.
So, a virtual rather than a real kick?
yes
Understood. Marmar's husband's shins are grateful.
too close to empire
That reminds me of the line in "The Quiet Man" when John Wayne is dragging Maureen O'hara across the entire village and a the whole town is following in pursuit and a little old lady runs and catches up with them and says to John Wayne...."oh pardon me sir but here's a good strong stick to beat the lovely lady with" Thank heavens times have changed.
argh Marmar, indeed. No beating in relationships.
ZSee my bf and I dont fight
it was ok to do so aslong as the rod was no bigger in width as the thumb
I know! That's how I decided I would never spank my kids. I didn't want them to grow up accepting getting hit by someone who loves them or claims to love them.
I am just quoting a very old law (ducks to avoid flying shoes)
oh man, if I think of how big my love's thumbs are, I get scared. We don't beat eachother either. But we don't forbid eachother. We talk.
I've heard that too Lady. again, thank GOD times have changed.
Talking is good!
talking and listening, really listening, is good. And laugh. Humour works miracles.
That's true. And somehow a bowl of ice cream has been known to smooth things over too. Funny what triggers certian reactions isn't it?
Well, I did spank my children and I did and do love them. It's possible to correct a child physically without resorting to beatings. It wasn't the only method of punishment used and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm.
it is. I have my triggers and so has my love. After all those years together we are getting to know them well, lol.
Phone...
bfn Haz
Oh Haz, I know. My mom and dad spanked (not me, my brothers got it though!) too and they were the best parents. I just couldn't do it. Well, I did it once with the oldest and then almost got physically sick so I decided not to do it again.
we don't spank either. But my son once said to me: can't you just slap me and spare me the lecture?
I understand, Marmar. I wasn't smacking willy-nilly for years, but sometimes it was the quickest way of getting the message across - I'm talking a smack on the back of the legs.
That is funny! I never thought that it might be better than my lectures which are usually horribly long and I am sure I lose them in the first 2 minutes!
What frightens me is the number of parents who seem to have either no methods of discipline whatsoever or who just lash out all the time. There's a happy medium.
And honestly, if you can get it across to children from an early age that you are in charge, discipline issues aren't so great.
I did splash a little water in the middle childs face once when she got hysterical and could not stop crying. That worked.
bringing up children is a big adventure. Somehow I always feel like re-inventing the wheel.
I remember talking to my uncle about the problems of having two girls with completely different personalities - you're trying to push one while holding the other back etc. He gave me such a funny smile and said 'You think you are the first to face such problems?'
You can say that again! It's hard but wonderful and sometimes, those moments that are so rewarding and you see this amazing human across from you and it makes it so worth EVERYthing we go through.
that's exactly it. Of course we aren't the first. But does the experience of others tell us what to do with our children? It never really seems to apply.
I was a cheeky little monkey as a kid. I got my fair share of backhands across the butt
The problem is that each generation has to discover the secrets for themselves. Okay, we can hear what other people did, but each child is so individual that no tailor-made plan comes included.
I believe you were cheeky Lady! Still are, or not?
Still
oh yes, Marmar. I look at my children every day in amazement. They are so much more than I ever thought they could be, and so much more than we put into them.
you cheeky, lady? Never.
Oh heavens, my time is up. I have to pick up the youngest at school. I love chatting with you all, so enjoyable. Bless you all and see you later!
innocent look
Bye Marmar.
it was good to chat with you again, Marmar. Bye!
Bless you Marma Take care
Oh yes, I hope you all have more fun with this horrible grid than I had! Ack....only 45 words and I give up!

Be well, sprite and Haz

Thanks, BabbleRabble, are you going?

Seeing compounds might be your pa8/50 to success!
it certainly is, Haz.
Well, I think I should take a break and come back to this later. Have a good day, sprite and everyone.
you too, Haz.
Bye for now!
Good morning everyone.
ap 8/60 clue please
sorry, do not have that. Just started
tempts
Gran - Hi. It's a botany word. Begins with the first 4 letters of what Jesus had 12 of and ends with everything being 'hunky d***' (but change a letter).
ap8/60 - ap, a vowel, a fairy tale, replacing the t with another consonant.
thansk Jacula
and Haz
y/w
Hello Jacula, inge, gran - just passing through on my search and destroy dirt mission.
hi agan
Hi Haz!
hi everyone
Hello herin - I'll be back later.
dusk
sorry, back into my corner
Hi Haz and everyone. I just came back to see if the red flag of death had gone. It has.
hi
Oh, bed delivery van is here. BBL.
Hello everyone
Hello lynxxx.
hi lynxxx
That ap8 clue I gave wasn't great. Vacuuming made me think of anagram of the bar you wash yourself with, add the meat from a pig, changing the last letter to the sometimes vowel.
Now I can content myself. I'm not obsessed, really I'm not.
well you can hardly be blamed for thinking of something other than the floors when vaccumning
good morning everyone..mm pigs at bars eh..better get the meds going early..
what a silly word. TY Haz
hi crossy
hi Cross
I know, after 27 years you kind of lose your focus when vacuuming!
morewords gave it to me
Hooray for morewords - that's where I found it as well.
here thats my daughters job, thank goodness
Anyway, must get back to the cleaning, then it'll be time to walk Spangle. See you later, bye for now.
i haven't been around all week, have been se oops making a quilt, nearly used a bad word infront of haz
bye Haz
Andree hello
hi herin
How are you?
I'm back. I now have 3 large boxes and a rolled up mattress blocking the hallway.
Hi there Cross and Lynxx
hi Jac and Infernal
howdy herin,andree,lynxx
I'm almost trapped here in the office. I could've Babbled all day if the delivery men hadn't left me a space to squeeze through.;)
'scuse me for a bit, just started so going to get into the grid before I get too tired
'Bye Haz.
I have sewing/mending to do once I've finished my cuppa. (I can say that now Haz has gone. LOL)
Morning and afternoon people!
lol jac
Hi red.
Good morning all
merk, how ar eyou?
Fine, if a bit baffled by some of these words.
I just started so no bafflement yet....
good morning
Morning, Sue
I spent yesterday pressure washing my house. I love that think
thing
My walkways look great
Hi again anyone i missed just reading more lame PETA stuff
read something the other day bout petas kill ratios in thier kennels;( dont know if it was propoganda or not,but sunshine does not shine out thier butts acording to that
yes. Its true. just read that at the Telegraph UK.
our town had a zero kill rate last year9managed to foster every animal out) 450 cats 200 odd dogs
hi re, merk and sue
wow Cross that is amazing
adopted one ourselves(gives us 3 cats)
and when you adopt a rescue cat or dog,all come fixed and treated for fleas and worms..all for 75 dollars
to 5/18 clue please
passes a joint to gran lol
Cross and my arse that the animals were not adoptable. Tabys place has 14 year old special needs cats looking for a furever home
wow its $350 for a rescue dog here
wow andree!
good lord, andree! that's incredible!
there are some difficult amimals to place indeed herin
pi8 please
i have been looking into getting one, out of 00 dogs at one place they have nothing they can guarante around kids
we have a vet here how defrays the cost of fixing the animals
Andree we bought our fur brat from Lort Smith

ground staff who look after a cricket pi***
i have now decided to get one from a breeder
thx gran

My last one and just not getting it - to 5/18
clued it earlier gran
Andree please dont
Andree, Red Tip Hounds and beagles are great with kids
alternatively go to DOgzonline
morning, all. today is doubly special. It's the 7th birthday of two of our cats..and it's my 11th anniversary at my job.
yaa for angel!!
yaa for angel
go to a breeder, all you guarantee is its pedegree, not how it will react to children
http://tinyurl.com/ls8brs this is why i am against breeders. Also dogzonline have rescue breeds too: http://www.dogzonline.com.au/
not getting the pi8 clue
Sorry crosshair didn't get your clue any furher clues
good morning all
ive seen many purebreds at shelters anyways
true crossy but a puppy gets used to whoever is around whereas a rescue has no history, i was really hoping for a rescue and would go ahead if i lived by myself but i live with daughter and 2 small children
howdy peri
Me either Peri
well, whatever you feel safe with i suppose
Sorry but I can't feel right about buying a dog from a breeder.
a name for someone who smokes weed gran
ima joker,im a to****,im a midnight smoker,get my lovin on the run...whoooo
richard branson
its good to get all opinions before i decide, here the other day the general concensus was for a puppy from a breeder
just had a 70,s flashback..ohh the colours.....
The other option Andree, is a Puppy that was born in the shelter.
too many in the kennels here to bother with the puppy mills
yes..what red said
no luck there red and hi
And not all breeders are puppy mills.
many pregnant bitches end up at the shelters
indeed red..wrong word choice
do you have a craigslist.com there
um my friend got a pure bred dog and it turns out the dogs were Mother and Uncle. Its allowable but the dog has problems
Thanks crosshair and finished!
yaa for gran!!
another option is if you dont mind, getting an older female from a breeder. Usually they are well trained and socialized and not being bred any more.
Thanks
Congrats Gran!
Or breed rescues.
yay gran
and of course any lab is good with children, ive yet to see one that is not
Cross, I have seen several labs and every thing in bewtween that were horrid with children, used to work at a vet.
Andree if you go the option of a bred dog please look at www.ankc.org.au they have a list of reputable breeders
And, I'll say htat I have had terrible health problems with ALL my rescue dogs. On ehad cataracts at age 4 months and then developed seizures, not controlled by medicine....my other one died after 8 months of lymphosarcoma.
That's awfully bad luck Red!
well not all have had such a bad time with rescue animals as you have red
hi everyone :)
Andree: www.dogsnsw.org have a list of breeders that are reputable.
hi mrp
OK, my brain is not totally awake and I since I am too sheltered. I do not know the slang word for someone who smokes weed.
hi peri! :))
hi MRP
see my clue merk
a lab is too big, i am not supposed to have a pet according to my lease
KE4/10 - I'm in the grid!
Yes, I think rescues are great, but there is no gaurentee that they will be healthier or better. My heart was really broken when my Libby died of lymphosarcoma.
hi mrp and peri
andree... you need a shetland sheep dog!
Hi Mr Pres
hi andree! :))
The whole topic of dog breeding v rescues always raises blood pressure around here. My point of view is that it's up to the future owner to make the decision. Not all breeders are disreputable, not all rescue dogs are saints in fur coats. We bought Spangle from a local breeder because we wanted a puppy to raise, we wanted to know what size it would be and its potential temperament. Are we to be condemned as irresponsible owners?
My parents used that site to find their furmut
luck of the draw i suppose
Andree if you arent supposed to have a pet, then any dog is too big.
I dont think so Haz.
each side has merits
kope
pass
on ya rayray

Hi Ray...wrong box.

pent
doing a rescue animal just saves one from the grindernot all communities have foster programs that is all
tenor
RAAAAAY!
Haz. I say no to no breeder that isn't registered with the Breeders Directory.
indeed herin
oops!!! profound apologies...
:D
did it again!
I think the Kennel Club has a lot to answer for... imo
yay for haz, really what i feel, i want a puppy, small low shedding and therefore a breeder will be my choice, not meaning i am right or wrong just that its probably the way i will go
each to thier own
herin i just put those 2 addresses in favourites and will check them out
Mr Pres?
yes infern
And you will be a good, responsible owner, Andree, and your dog will be a great asset, I'm sure.
AKC?
Watched a program on Pedigree Dogs... investigating the extent of health and welfare problems in pedigrees, caused by decades of inbreeding and breeding for looks over health and function
There is no doubt that some breeds have been rendered unhealthy by adherence to rules that have more to do with appearance than good sense. Avoid those breeds, but there are many others that are healthy and normal.
Lunch time!
indeed mrp
OK, I tried to look at the earlier clues, I looked up the song words, I am DENSE. I cannot get pi 8.
they want the perfect line and linieage
There is so much wonderful dog chatter mixed in with the clues, that I'm only left confused.
FIREWORKS!:-)
just look what has happened to the german shepherd, pugs, bulldogs etc. disgusting
lol merk,my clue was for to 5/18 not for pi
yaa for jac!!
pi8 -- pi5.16 is either a cricket 'lawn' or black stuff they make roads with - then add guys
Congrats Jac!
and the poor king charles spaniel... holy moly
I wanted the last word to be unsp6/27 (not a lover of track/field/gym). It wasn't.
i think i will opt for a poodle cross [ for the low shedding]
Oh duh ... I need coffee. Thank you. What does that have to do with smoking weed?
my head hurts I am going to bed
It has more to do with people who write advertisements.
Well, I'd better squeeze pa4 the boxes and mattress in the hall and go and do my sewing/mending. Happy Babbling all.
lol pi 8/60,s may be to 5/18,but thier job may suffer1;)
Andree...our rev dog was Shitsu/poodle/maltese cross...a wonderful little pet, no shedding, fantastic with the kids, and great guard dog to boot.
rev - prev
quite the cross;))
very common here
we had a coka-poo once,so smart it was scary
they are cute too! the labradoodles are huge here at the moment, great dogs but probably too big for Andree
labradoodles are new here
the new buzz dog
very xxxy though, about a $1000 here
my favority new dog breed is a puggle, a pug and beagle mix

hello Haz!
I swear by Eagle Pack. I have not had a fur ball issue with brat cats. I bought Royal Canin as its meant to be good and at least 3 times this week i have had hack noises from them. So Eagle Pack on the way.
Hi Haz.
hrm. i think i have the ME4, but i dont have the PO7...heh
Hello Nono!
to6 please?
well,if they groom they get hair balls eventually
And herin and all.
The gross thing was I heard slurp slurp slurp from their water fountain and she walks in and goes burp. Charming
Eukanuba and the Furminator!
po7 (leading to po8) - a foretelling of something ominous.
lol your young black male loves his water
our
No that was Madam. Himself is cheeping somewhere in the house
oh yours ipps
to6/27 - if it began with ty it would be a disease.
TY. that gave me both NBT and NBS. :)
thanks Haz, for fireworks
ty haz
Congratulations to flosey!
ty Haz
caught him perched on the toilet seat this morning, looking at the swirly water
congrats Flosey!
You're welcome, cross, Nono.
Cross ours does that too. We keep the lid down. Get sick of wet paw prints
Ha! Mine likes to jump in the bath tub if there's a trickle of water coming out of the faucet. Hypnotism!
ty, and now must get the house in order for guests - one coming from Toronto tomorrow, 2 more coming Thursday from Wales
Judi do you get the urge to turn the tap on properly?
Oh, Welsh house guests! You'll get a chance to talk about crwth and cwms.
Nah, that would just scare him. I prefer that we both be entertained.
how wonderful Flosey
Judi I get like that when himself stalks the tub. The b.f has had a couple of close toliet lid calls with him.
yes, thanks Haz and herin, haven't seen the chap from Wales for hmmm, can't remember exactly, he was an exchange teacher in hubby's dept. for one year, probably about 25 years ago and we've kept up my mail over the years
caught ours hugging the tap to catch the drips;) he got busted cause his belly was wet
That should be interesting, flosey, how long is he staying?
awww Cute Crossie
He'll sit in the sink sometimes - just for attention. He likes to inspect the inside of the dryer every now and then - when it's warm.
uncertain yet Haz but possibly a week, then off to San Francisco and back home
Wow FLosey. My mum got a chance to meet her old highschool friend ages ago they had a blast. Soon her other friend (or is it cousin) will visit
I hope you all enjoy the time together. You mentioned 2 from Wales?
Judi becareful of the dryer i have had to make sure Lucius wasn't in the Washing machine before closing the lid
ke nt
yes, he and his wife - he wasn't married when he was over the first time, now has 2 grown sons
sorry
Always careful to keep the animals away from the machines. My grandmother had a very unfortunate incident with a cat in a dryer.
clue for ko 4/10
:(
the chap coming Tuesday was also teacher from same school at same time
I shudder at the vision that Judi gave...poor cat
That'll be nice - show them the pictures of William to make them jealous of your grandparent status.
ko + et **one home
lol Haz
Well William does look like a very cute bub
He looks lovely, flosey, I'm nearly jealous myself.
thanks Haz, he is very precious
and tks herin
Flossey is this the lad that was a tad unwell when he was born?
Clue for last Ke5/22, please?
hello
hi all
ke5/22 - a type of boat, one letter short of sk6.
Hi Harp and JM
Hello harpjane and jmc
don't know enough about sailing for that clue I am guessing
*scratching head*
sk6 - a sometimes preliminary drawing for a picture. Take the s from the front for the boat.
ty haz
Ah. That makes some sense. Ty.
All I could think of was "skiff". Close, but no ceegar.
the oo4 is going to make this a trying day with lots of overtime in the pb
You're welcome. It should lead you to an 8.
and so it does! lol
Glad you got it, jmc.
:-)
last day of my sabbatical today
Are you glad or sad?
ambivalent
I didn't get as much as I wanted done because of the problems with my mother losing her mind
but there are things I still want to get done at work too
i have that same mother jmc, what a wild ride, eh?
its has been rough harp
especially because the place we placed her to get her stable was more than and hour drive from here
I am just glad she is back at her group house even if she is not the woman she once was
That has to be very difficult for you both.
well in a way it was good that my sabbatical overlapped the worst of it -- I can't imagine how hard it would have been trying to run the Center at teh same time
and my sisters are all having a very difficult time dealing with it
Was her deterioration quite sudden?
not so hard for me having spent a great deal of time doing elder law and having in effect pulled the plug on my husband
whispers goodnight.
Goodnight, herin.
night herin -- hope your studies went well
I want to support my sisters
Thanks JM. May not be around for the next 48 hours huge tests comming up. Blessing
good luck with your tests
It's all part of the cycle of life where the children begin to take responsibility for the welfare of the parents. Probably both parties find it hard to come to terms with the new way of life.
I can see I am going to need help to get to nbt tile on this one -- but don't clue yet -- I am still trying
back for a minute, changed icon for tomorrow
o I forgot I will brb
is the ap a common word?
maybe a +p7?
Absolutely not, harpjane, it's a botanical word. Do you want a clue?
No, it's not a common word
yup
ap8/60 - first four letters of the punctuation mark used to denote contraction or possession, add the meat from a pig, replacing the last letter with the sometimes vowel.
Herin, William was absolutely perfect at birth, it was following C Section that daughter had problems - however now all is well, fortunately she has always been very healthy.
She's gone, flosey, went to bed while you were doing your icon.
wow, thanks!
not a word I've ever used in a sentence
You're welcome. It's my first encounter with the word as well.
new one to me -- no surprise!
thanks Haz, just refreshed and I still see my sweet William, has my icon changed please?
I see very bad hair when I click on your profile.
thanks Haz, that's it!
bye now, be back for late flip (after bridge)
when I refreshed to see William I realized I had not changed my icon properly!
bye flosey
Bye flosey!
I see a sleepy cat jmc (William will be back)
good I fixed it then
If no clues are needed, I'll do some errands. Enjoy the puzzle and always remember that some words are best left un8/70. Especially things like 'Yes, that dress makes your behind look enormous'
I know I will see william another time! lol
Toodle-pip!
ty haz your psychic helped!
bye haz
Bye!
does the pa 7 build off the 5?
sorry harp I am not that far along
i'm just sort of randomly jumping around the grid
i meant, does the pa7 build off the 4?
lol that is pretty much all I ever do until the end
there are two pa 4 words
same here, it fits my brain really nicely!
hello babble friends!
just found the pa8, if it would help, harp
I look for words that jump out at me, take the clues that come and eventually list and doggedly finish
hi trif!
hi tri
harp, you don't want to travel abroad without your pa7..
hi Babblers!
hi aloy and ty
oops, that was pa8, sorry
hi Aloy
thanks
I was reading about your sabbatical ending, jmc....must be hard to switch gears and all....
hi nono
pb aloy
sigh.. off to the pb
speaking of the pb....would LOVE clue for the other o from the top left....
well I always practice some law, and I never not think about war and peace so not so much of a change as that
will I need a pa7 to get in the door of the pb?
I am still looking for the word for the second O up there
do you mean pa8 aloy?
no, it's op4
it's oo7 but I don't have it yet
hi dc!
no, the pa7 dc, it fits in the door
never mind, pa7 :)
I don't suppose you went to hear redturtle's po6 reading last night
of course we do, jmc
???
you did?

bbs.. being pulled away..
jms me5/12 an elite group of very smart people

I felt most of the po4s were trying to hard to be clever or deep
fireworks

are all the U words UN?
Bye, bye
bye annie
how many sk words are there today, please?
yes, all four u words are un words, jmc
5 sk Trif
sorry not listing yet
thank you norma
norma your cat looks like my cat
sk4,sk4,sk5,sk6,sk8
ty trif
how many sh words please?
My cat is very accident prone he has been in a road accident, tried to strangle himself with his collar and subsequently used up a lot of his lives lol
3 sh Trif
we have a hamster like that, norma! I thought he had left to be with jesus this weekend, but I nursed him through again!
and thanks again, norma! just can't find these last two s's from the second row, middle tile, and it's driving me to distraction!
dear me! my cat disappeared for three days and came back missing a ring of fur off her tail and was hit by a car some years later
I cried for three days when my daughters hamster died you would have thought he was a member of the immediate family
I am not that sensative norma
oh, I have a guilty admission - this weekend I got completely fed up with all the animals around here! I do love them ususally, really, I do, but this weekend I just felt that the return on investment was not there....
I am just a big 'softy' ... just love all animals
all the poop!!!
you didn't do anything to them did you?
yes, I did a lot to the hamster - like give it a bath, nurse it gently back to health by spoon feeding it for two hours, rubbing it's tummy, laying it on a heating pad....jesus!
Barbecue at Trifs!
I think you get a great return on investment with dogs but sometimes cats tend to be a bit too independant and treat us like they own us lol
Big 'softy' Trif lol
all because I couldn't bear for tertiare to return from yet another thrilling weekend away with mr. hate to the news that her hamster had left too.
LOL tor! the coyotes enjoyed a chicken dinner at one of my hen's expense last week....
down to just seven now! and somehow the bitchy, menopausal, no-longer-laying, mean old black hens are spared EVERY time!
They're too tough ..
must be. they do put up a fight too. the younger hens basically just lay down and let the coyotes eat them. sigh. they really aren't the brightest bulbs in God's chandelier
I like cats because they are indepentdent -- I already had one child
whee! have the top 2 rows greyed....off to add value! have a good day babble friends!
you could eat the nonlaying hens -- it is traditional
bye trif

Just roused myself from a 3 hour nap, I think OK. I was a little surprised by nap!
Naps are good for you, well i like them.

I'm a big fan of naps, but I still find myself a little disoriented by unexpected 3-hour naps...

Mother is also enjoying her retirement, in Ireland right now, I finally got hold of her online today. She's having too much fun to log in!
GOOD FOR HER!
sorry for shouting!
LOL it's okay, mo! I thought after a year that retirement would lose its luster, but so far it's as glittery as ever.
although there aren't enough hours in the day.
*runs for list*
I am at least 27 years away from retirement (2 years school + 25 years teaching)... probably more since my family is long-lived.
I have been retired 15 years and still enjoying it.
If all goes well I will enjoy teaching enough to keep working longer.
its good if you enjoy your work.
??? why did I think you were younger than that, mo? *confuzzled look*
crossy has 15 years to go;((
I am only 68!!
does that make you cross, dear? *bats eyes flirtaceously*
did I even come close to spelling that right? I don't flirt any more, so am out of practice!
lol
oh, you're a spring chicken, mo! LOL
and the question on everyone's mind is whether you finally have all the silly string out of your beard?
if only!!!! LOL.
that last comment of course was aimed at cross, not mo!
lol yes,it is all out..crossy looks for more trouble to get into...
don't look too hard, cross!
how fishy is that AP ?
dont have to..it finds me;))
well its time to leave you "youngsters", so good-night and happy babbling.

Well, I think perhaps we ALL need a nap right now. It's that time of day, after all!

So there go my plans for the evening. Maybe I'll grab the elder kid from his room and force him to do chores...
good luck with that
rofl... yep, that was my basic plan, cross!
okay, since I don't have to pick him up and he isn't coming home soon, I shall revert to finishing reading my chapter now and nap when that is done.
Unless someone needs a quick clue before I jet?
don't let us hold you back from those chores Stid!byee

I see your icon Andree. very fluffy.
just what i wanted red, smaller than a spaniel and low shedding, i have lots of pics of the puppies they are sooo cute
Cute, but I sure wish you had adopted a rescue, andree.... can't help it...
Hi all...back to try and get my last 24 before tap class!! Juliannnnnnn :)
May I please have a clue for me5-12 the 1st? Thanks.
i am beside myself with excitement, haven't had a dog since I ran away from home 6 years ago
Karen!!! :) Why aren't you on othe messenger?
andree the papa puppy looks kind of shell-shocked...lol
Hi, kazzz
lol kate
i only have a very short amount of time Julian...wasn't expecting to see you this early!
i hear you pam but must do whats best for me
Yes, Andree - it's hard to fathom how anyone who 'loves' dogs could be purposely bringing more mongrels into this world, when there are already so many in desperate need of homes, who will be put down for that lack of them. :( And supporting that, by buying such a puppy? :/ Mine have all been rescues, and always will be . . .
I think responsible breeders are the ones who stopped breeding to rescue at this critical time, andree. Purebred puppies are being killed in shelters... I will time myself out... I
I think everyone has to do whats right for them, we have had this debate multiple times today, I've had great rescue dogs and some really horrid ones ....
Yes, Pam - exactly.
j.c I could not find a rescue that would be okay around very small children, I live with my daughter and her 2 kids and much as i want a dog they must come first
True, red. And a purebred attacked my cousin... .it's not whether it's a rescue or a breeder pup....
By horrid I mean they were very loving dogs, but ended up being extra ordinarily expensive due to medical issues.
hey there Kazz...come up to canada..we know how to do bangers and mash just right!...the kilt and clover pub is waiting
Even at the expense of dogs' lives? My little dog is very good with children, as was the one before her - and I'm sure the pup will be, too. All rescues . . . there are so many in the shelters, of all types and sizes, and temperaments. I understand your concern, but to support what that 'breeder' is doing? :/
Oh, medical issues are another thing altogether--and again, come from all kinds of dogs....
ooh sounds fab Kate!
back... needed flannel jammies and socks.. I have been cold all day... rainy
the rescue could not show me a single dog under the age of 18 months that would be safe around children
corner e?
hits always hit and miss andree. you did what was eight for you...sometimes you don't have the luxury of choice or time
Oooh I want flannel jammies, must be very cool there KJE.
good grief...its....right
Then why not wait, until there is one like that, rather than support someone who is purposely bringing more mongrels into this world? :/ It's hard to believe there wouldn't be a suitable dog, at some point - there are so many in the shelters. There is no way I could support someone doing what that 'breeder' is, even if it meant not getting a dog for a while . . .
not really, but damp, and for some reason I just can't get warm (it is 70!)
this should be lovely weatherr, but I am cold
hope you arent getting ill...
*glares at red*
Gotta agree Julian. It's not like having a dog is a necessity.
you are being very judgemental today j c
hello all. tell me I'm not reading this correctly. are you all scolding andree for getting the dog she wanted? whether or not you agree with her, she can make her own decisions... this doesn't seem like babble community to me
kje, please drink something warm. Am sending positive energy to you.
JC, Andree is not asking you to get a dog from a breeder, she's doing whats right for her at this point in time.
thx dorens, i seem to need some support here
and red
I am not scolding andree, dorens... I am sending ugly looks red's way
Right for her, yes - not what's right or best for dogs.
i thought maybe i was coming in to the middle of it and misinterpreting. and sorry for saying you all. i know you are glaring at red, kj
Geez, kje, I do hope you are not getting sick...should I hope that you are getting sick?
leave her alone!!!
think we need a new subject...this one seems a little too contentious
red.. don't jinx me!!!
J.C. You have expressed your opinion, but I think thats plenty.
btw, red... i must see the orthopod in the morning
iwhy kj?
Oh No kje, did you hurt self or just recheck on your ankle??
my knee is killing me
my ankle is fine red, it is the knee on that same leg... i fear they will need to amputate
you are joking?
running too much kje? I had to take a rest day.
yes, jk about amputation, sorry... but not the knee pain
I will go now , really sorry some of you can't take my exciting news in the spirit of babble
red, I had only just started! ran 3x/wk x 2 wk, the bam! wak up with knee pain
i am happy for you andree, and sorry the chat did that to you
andree no worries..

my dad was in it, I though most of their mailings were pretty boring
he sounds funny... not a typical four year old remark
patrick swayze and jody powell, two good ones gone
dorens... I am hoping this is just a bursitis and the doc will inject me and make it all better, but if not, we may be hobbling on crutches together
well, his parents are both really witty, I suspect he is picking it up
is the po8 a compound word?
Hi, dorens
pl of a 7, harp
omens
his mom was co-chief with me, and the first day of the new year when we were orienting new interns, she sat on the first row and started making these motions with her hands... hands in front of chest, index fingers out... I had no idea whatthat meant
i saw my orthopod today and he said i should keep the crutches, but can bear some weight on it, which makes all the difference in the world... don't have to wear the cast shoe either, just sandals or sneakers with good support. yayayaya!
hi pam. how's you?
thanks
so after words, I asked her, "what were you doing!" and she said "I was trying to tell you your headlights were on"
?? headlights on?
NEs, dorens
i almost died from embarrassment, and was so glad i had no idea what she was saying while i stood in front of 50 new interns
sure, harp
yayayayay dorens!!!!
Ne?
Very busy, dorens but glad to be back again tonight... How are you, doresn
think cold room and silk blouse, dorens....
headlights on, how funny!
what good would it do to know?
i am lost here... NE's. ohhhhhhhh how funny!
i am fine pam. will be up in boston sept 25.26. maybe, just maybe
LOL dorens - you are funnier than the story!!!!
exactkly harp!
just embarassing, that;s all... i mean, what COULD you do?
band-aids. call a break and run for band-aids
i thought the interns were so well behaved, listening nicely, full attention... little did i know
yes welk, cuz THAT wouldn't call attention!
hehehe, they weren't the only ones at full attention
is the re7 to do something over again?
not the square hard kind, kj ... the flexible fabric ones. my mother used them for years, although for the life of me, how she got them off without screaming is beyond my imagination
no idea
re7 ..vomited
sorry i got distracted, very funny story kje!
welki.... have you heard of Petal Tops... google
hi red
i do yoga several days a week and i wear tank tops with shelf bras, which do NOT hide them. I found these silicone "petals" which cover them nicely.... self adhesive, last for like 50 wearings o whatever.. i love them
yes! Petal Tops!
gosh, I never worry about it when I am excersising, lol.
I just let them be....
I use them if I go braless... or if i have on a thin top and will be in front of a full room of people
thanks
that makes sense, kje
i just walk around with my hands over my chest
no, really I love them.. one of the best inventions.. they really help. i dunno, i seem to have small breasts, but big nips... and after yoga often do errands and interact with the public... love them
Oh I could never go without Bra. wow. and yes if I was going to be presenting something I might just do a petal or two...
cuz unfortunately, the next time someone on the front row starts making hand motions at me, I will know what they mean...
bet you didn't have them on that day, tho kj
LOL welki
I agree dorens, they are great, and comfy
*hangs head* no dorens
i leave them on sometimes...then catch sight of myself in the mirror and wonder what happened to me! they are all flesh tone! :)
so dorens... has the conversation gone up or down since you popped in - LOLOL
well, depends on who's looking at it! but at least it isn't mean
LOL
ap8?
ap + the wreck of the B***ph**us + sometime vowel
no.. wreck of the b***h**us
and DON"T ask me what it means!
tough one to clue .. ap*thecary + ***k* Pig
oy .. ap*thecary + snaky letter + ***k* Pig
wow, thanks... wasn't gonna get that
really? you don't use that word several times a week?
okay, just so we all know: The development of a gametophyte directly from a sporophyte without the occurrence of meiosis or spore formation.
i will likely never use it in a lifetime, dorens
botany.... thanks,dore
*files the word in the tiniest wrinkle in her itsy bitsy brain, with little hope of recall in the future*
*dorens
actually, i have likely seen that word before - i took botany in college (face plant)
i went out with my botany professor ... but the word never came up
actually, not much came up at all.
lol
LOLOLOLOLOLOL - shame on you welki
i will never remember that word... not even an hour from now... and welki,, my goodness!!
maybe if i'd worn those petal top things...
omg! welki you are too funny
hells bells, i remember his name! (and his last name was the name of a flower, for goodness' sakes!)
hi everyone
hi lb!
hey dawg
hi lbd... welki is telling us about her indiscretions with a college prof... I am suspecting she made an A in botany
lbd!
look at me today and you'd never in a million years think i was such a wild child
hi welki, dorens, kej, pam.
in fact, you'd probably hyperventilate from laughing so hard :)
in run on the botany prof...is that why you like the outdoors so much? *wicked laugh*
no, not really, lb ... but i sure developed a keen appreciation for xylem and phloem (or however you spell it)
i remember the first time biology teacher in eighth grade taught us about xylem and phloem... and I was so excited to go home and play word games with my mother cause i was sure she never heard of them
oo7?
oh tg, that k is finely dead
we played a game called jotto where you had to guess the other person's word.. process of elimination of the letters in the alphabet, and i just knew i would stump and confound her with xylem
must go ... g'night everyone, thanks for the chuckles :)
good for you kj, i still have 9 left, but haven't listed yet.. hoping that will help
gn welki - sweet dreams
oo+ single life form, usually a mold or fungi

the guy that throws the ball in baseball is called a pi5 + males
ugh, ap8??!! apotheosis... i can't think of any other long words that start with apo or any that start with aps
apostrophe doesn't connect
ap + the wreck of the B***h**us + sometime vowel
and it is a word connected with botany. welki knows all about that1
thankee
now, now, she's not here to defend her honour any more
wanted to hear the rest of that story ...
i am only paying her the compliment of having great knowledge of botany.. after all, she is the one who supplied the definition, is she not?
what honor? she dated her prof! ; )

My daughter went to Calgary on Saturday with her grandparents to visit my ex-Bro-in-Law. She sent me a message via Facebook to say she'd arrived safely but had been awake for 50 hours.

ROFL
We weren't 'allowed' to sleep on our flight to Crete after a very long delay had use arriving there at dawn rather than lunchtime, but I did think the plane staff would let people sleep on a 9-hour Transatlantic flight. Seems not. If they're not trying to feed you, they're trying to sell you something or put the fear of God in you with safety talks.
i can br...:-))..used to work in a german oompapa pub when i was young...it was a hoot!
I didn't sleep on my flight over to Europe or on the return flight...
barn dances were the big events
...of all things, there was a mother with 3 small children and an infant sitting at the bulkhead across from me...
...and the same family on the return flight!
BR - Actually, I LOVE The Yeti Song (from Yetisports). I used to sing and dance to that with one of my daughter's exes.
in your childhood br?
I couldn't believe it; I was doomed!
Hey, BR...I've been to a barn dance or two!
roll out the barrel
poor pini...a nightmare flight!!!
we had a square dance in my boarding school...12 inch rule even applied to dances...
Hey, BR...here's a tidbid of trivia..."Larry's" in my family tree!
Like that one too, BR. Had it on a midi-disk (like vinyl) version size 78 of my Grandad's.

I can almost believe that br..but not quite...;-)
congtrats harp!
Guess we're in the same club, Jac!!! LOL
any one else need clues?
BR - you must be very clever to have recorded that other than with ink and a scroll, or a tablet of st5/10.
I'm good for a bit, TK...38 to go and 2 hours to find 'em ;)
Welll done, Harp.

I see BR hasn't replied to me about The Yeti Song. Does he not like it?
I haven't seen BR in awhile...maybe he's on a break?
The lyrics are quite hard to learn if you're not Norwegian, but they're fun.
may be he is hoping you will stay out of the PB
perhaps he's walking his pet rock?
or trimming the beard up a bit more ;)
BR sounds like he looks like DR_God's Beadry Beach Boy icon.

My Dad once shaved his moustache off and my mother tied a handkerchief over her eyes and then proceeded to slice tomatoes for a salad using the carving knife. I was only young when that happened, but I did notice my Dad's 'tache was back within 2 weeks.

did you not know why you went to the PB then?
How long have you been at it?
lol
po7/32 & 8 pls?
now? since about 9 i guess...nnot sure..giving stupid clues out
po7/8 foreshadowing
po 7 - an omen ( of doom usually) po 8 is the plural
po7=threatening or disquieting significance
jmc - Oh yes. I see now. Well, being a simple word to find, I would have thought that at this stage of the grid it would be more obvious to clue it then type it. But point taken.
just found it
po8=plural
(fortified wine) + ( whole thing, ***ire)
ty
well maybe I am just too rule bound jac
Maybe, jmc.
:-P
i had totally forgotten that the ye4 was a grid word
I don't know about you, jmc, but if I see a post with something about musicians or men who lay road surfaces in it with pi8/60 in the middle of it, I immediately start looking for the word.
However, had the word just been typed out in the post, I might not have noticed it.
is there a full moon tonight?
Kate - I'd forgotten, too.
??? well I am a little dense in this game but I try
No, Kate, that was last week.
did the moon go to the buffet?
don't know how you all keep it straight, am finding one grid kinde of morph into the next...
Do you think 'Jacula' would be around if there was that much light??
perhaqps br...i may go look
what if find interesting is that there almost always seems to be an overlap of words in the grids
Kate - Yes, grids to often morph.
Do.
ts4?
or maybe 'too'. LOL
duke duke duke duke of earl
TO - makes a tutting sound of annoyance.
yes, every grid seems to have four, five, six and seven letter words, or even longer
afternoon all :)
ty . struggling to get last two
sound accompanying a wagging finger?
lol indeed BR

But, sometimes, you come across a Babblet not seen for a long time.
hi mr p

Hi MrP. It's 4.58am here in UK.

hey mr p almost used the same icon
hi mrp, kate, jac, owl
congratulations!
Kate - I now have a vision of we Babblers, all sitting at desks in straight lines in a school hall, chanting Babblets as the sunlight coming in through the high windows hits the dust motes in the air.
yay Owl!! (hugs hello)
hi granny
hi rose!!!! long time no see
why fasting, prez?
Well done TO.
glad it seems to be helping
ty for the help
<lurk, lurk>
hey jmc
need to cleanse the body of the toxins of all the drugs I have been on for the last 2 years
jac, if i wasn't so tired that would be a great start to another joint story-writing exercise...
Okay, Michael Buble is putting me to sleep (which really is the point...his voice is sooo soothing to me). Goodnight everyone.
and jai!!!
time for bed. happy babbling to all
I wondered about the fast, MrP (saw it on Facebook)...?
night lei and owl
nite to all sleepy heads
Por quoi?
GRANNY ROSE!!! HOW ARE YOU? sorry..caps lock again
Hi, granny!
gn TO
bye leigh
mrp, fasting? why for?
did you read my entries on fasting jac??
bye TO
Kate - we'll write another tory together another day.
kate, much better. have actually been able to start reducingmy analgesia.
Or even a story. LOL
rose, I have been off medication for a while, but my body is hurting like hell... it has stored all the crap and won't let go
MrP - I saw some of them.
I have sore everything, and very tired all the time... so a water fast is the best solution for me. My last fast was for 20 days, but this time I am going for 14 days
yuck, mrp.that can be as bad as the pain...
looking forward to it jac. ^_^
MrP - are you feeling any better yet? You do feel worse before you feel better with a fast.
If you go to my profile, it is in entries I made to My 2009 Fast
prayers and hugs, sweetie.
okay I have to actually go to work tomorrow so I think I will go to bed

bye all
oh no rose! It is very good and doesn't hurt at all... except when I walk too far on day 6 and cramp up!! LOL
see ya jmc :)
MrP - I'll check later but do be careful with the fasting, especially after you've been so weak for so long.
reducing the pain killers? what ever for?????seriously, that is wonderful granny rose...you won't push it will you? take it slow?
am on day 7 now, and feeling great!! See my doc every morning to have urine, blood pressure, weight etc checked... bloods came back looking great too
gn jmc, take care
clues for no4/5,6/24ls
The thing is, MrP, that you can get a weakness high that makes you think you're in better shape than you actually are. Please be careful.
kate, i was in la-la land with them. changing from S8 drugs, downto analgesia with codeine and paracetamol
I am very careful Jac... promise!! I would never do this without medical supervision
that is fantastic rose!!!
no 4 slang - brit- for eat...the 6 is p0ast tene
tense
slang word for food, rhymes with exclamation ****, golly, gee whiz- then pt for 6
Jac, this is my 5th fast. I am very aware of what my body is doing, believe me!!
so rose, no more oxycontin?? No endone etc??
hi jai :)
sounds like yu're well on your way to recovry granny rose. am so glad to hear it. :-))
I've just caved in (3 days ago) re not taking HRT. I started a low dose for 6 months only (review after 3 months). I was so tired of feeling either tired or sleepless, being woken on the hour every hour by night sweats and with the facts that my 'mojo' had upped and left home.
I am so proud of you girl!!! ***massive hugs for rose***
at last appt. with surgeon, was told totry to weight-bear a little.yesterday, with my walking frame, i took a whole three steps.*sigh*
Hi, mrp...how are you feeling? fasts are good...
oh jac!! is this menopause??
I wish I didn't feel like a quitter for doing that. I just need a break from feeling like an old crone and from the sleepless nights. The pills will kick in within 2 weeks, so I'm told.
thanx mrp. and i'm proudof you, and proud to call you my friend
feeling very good now jai... looking forward to the next week of the fast
that's rotten jac, let us know how yu get on with it...hope it helps you. must get your sleep or you can't go dancing. ;-)
you are a darling rose!! I have lots of lovely photos of our seafood lunch to send you!!
I forgot why you are fasting, mrp.
always happy to call you my friend too darling!
Yes, MrP and I've done 3 years without HRT and I wish I hadn't succumbed to it now, but I've tried every herbal and homeopathic rememdy going.
little bit at a time granny rose...don't over-do it...slow and steady wins the race.
* grin * mmmmmm, seafood lunch!
*poof
Jai, to get all the toxins of the last two years of relentless drugs out of my system... the oxycontin and endone were bad enough, but the anesthetic and huge doses of IV antibiotics took a massive toll on me
there was a very lively discussion about the best crab cakes earlier
Jac, you gotta do what you gotta do to not go crazy!!
don't you all start talking of food now!!
wait until I leave please!! LOL
What was wrong with you in the first place???? Sounds like what I am going thru now!
jai you poofed?
MrP - I think your fast sounds too long to do in one go. Can you not break it with appropriate massage?
you did get facebook up and running rose??
yeah, I'm hurting
jac, i found HRT pretty good at first, but then i was menopausal at the tender age of 30+.my hormone levels were so low, that all thru my last pregnancy, they kept saying, not pregnant.
Jai, bone tumours, chronic osteomylitis etc... had heaps of bone removed, bone grafting, IV antibiotics to help combat the disease... now have a huge titanium implant
jai - MrP had bone problems in her arm (see her flickr pics). She'd almost reached the point where she felt it might have been better to have the arm amputated than go on.
so you are mrp-oid?
oh jai!! I wanted to chew my arm off so many times! It came down to amputation a year ago, but I fought it
not yet mrp, like i said, i've been in la-la land. now the fog is beginning to lift, wil lhopefully have a go in a few days
Kate... mrp-old???
I can understand that. My leg hurts so bad I think about getting it cut off all the time...
OID..robot ending...like 6 million dollar woman?
Hi grannyrose. I know that hrt only delays the symptoms of menopause. Am intending to use it for a short break from the hot flushes/flashes, especially the night ones. My Mum, at 75, still gets night sweats, and my doctor tells me that means I will probably do so, too.
what have they tested you for jai?
But then would have to deal with phantom pain etc so fought my way out of the infection
ah!! yes, I am kate!!
you got it, kate. mrpis a 6 million dollar woman, in every way
aawwww, love you rose!
I have a strep infection in my knee...my second bad infection in my life- myu lefrt leg had staph for * YEARS!
mrpoid... I like that
^_^, as are you granny!
*8
* huge grin* cheshire cat style
glad you like it...thought you were upset foe a sec...
awwww thanx kate.
staph!! yuck!! you poor girl... are you having IV antibiotics?
yup
does that mean yu're going to disappear granny?
^_^
First vanc, now something yellow
jai, do you have a port-a-cath, or picc line?
nah, think i'll hang around
MrP - I have to be truthful with you now - at one time I thought you were a 'moaner', until I experienced pain in my left arm (before this latest bout). It was only then that I sat back and thought what you might be thinking and going through.
I have a port
Insensitive of me, I know. But, I guess, when I was Babbling at a very downbeat time of my life and you were doing same but trying to be positive, I wasn't in the same place.
LOL Jac!! I used to think that of my friend with a bad back, until I got 'the pain' in my arm... unless you experience it, you can't fully understand how shit it is
hve to shut down computer and re-boot...cursor gone crazy again. bbs
Well, had a port..they took it out because they were worried the strep would get into it
it is just human nature hunny... we appreciate what health we have now!!
you know, guys, i think going through all this trouble, helps me to be a better nurse, hopefully more empathetic and sympathetic
bbs
You know, unless a bit of your body, sometimes only a tiny bit is painful or incapcitated, you have no appreciation of it. It's only when it hurts that you realise how important to your life it is.
too right rose
and yes jac... risking losing a part of the body give you a sense of value for yourself and others
back in a tick, need a cold drink ( not alcoholic )
too early for a tipple just yet rose!
oh man! I better finish this... it is 35 min to go
go MRP-OID go
*sits on hands and waits to give clues, should anyone ask for any*
in a bit of a quandary here. mother mac, who is 90 years ols, has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. problem is,we are now entering the palliative care phase of all her different medical problems.
have ye 4 6 what is other y word please?
do i put her on a diabetic diet at this late stage or not?
both 4/6
one an urge, other an animal
what's the lone word for the top right "e"?
funny babblet, ed+ consonant + plural letter
danke
yw
yes granny, diabetes has it's own problems..you don't need any extra complications now...at least get her on smaller more frequent meals if not cutting down the carbs
understand that kate. but the fretting and worrying about her diet could compound everything else.
if being without sweets etc. makes her miserable, perhaps just cut down? no sense being miserable at that age
who's fretting and worying her or you?
my thoughts exactly, kate. then again, the " munchies " she gets from being on prednisolone don't help either.
missing one u word: have un 7 36, 7 52 and 8 70. what is missing? didnt go to list.
so her weight's probably way up?
un6 27
both of us, i guess. when sheis discharged from hospital, will have to try and have a talk with her, let her decide.
prednisone blows people right up like a puffer fish!
is she swtill on her own?
no, kate, she uses a lot of energy just trying to breathe
still
kate, she lives with us...
multiple systemic degradation then...?
clue for the un 6 plz/
hard on you granny, especially now...
nm got it.
ty
un 6/27 = to gather up all the fur your dog lost?
un**** tears
she is also early parkinson's, chronic renal failure, CCF, lyphodema, chronis asthma, only one functioning lung, and that at halfcapacity. getting my drift?
ouch....how bad is the diabetes...borderline i hope?
the diabetes is least of her problems...
not sure. hubby only found out by accident. i don't know what these health professionals are thinking with. i'm her primary carer and they don't tell me ANYTHING. if she was in a hostel or nursing home they would tell them.
*wanders in and sits down by granny and holds her hand and just listens*
they keep throwing the "privacy act" into the conversation. for goodness sake! she's 90, and i take care of her, what more do they want?
incomprehensible granny...one thing at a time..get her home first, by then you'll probably have more info...blood sugar coud have been temp. skewed from hospital food...if she ate it!
oh, thanks stid. could we have a group hug, do you think?
is she still competent mentally, granny? and has she filled out whatever your equivalent of "durable power of attorney for healthcare" you have -- naming you as a person who is allowed access to medical records and decision-making?
((HUGS))
pi 6 24 please?
yep. ((((((((((GROUP HUG))))))))))
sorry, stiddie....swear i'm a bit asperger's myself...get a hold of something then don't let go...sorry to hog vhat.
HUGS
pi 6/24 is "hole" + male persons
pi6/24 - coal miners.
lots of hugs for granny rose..
the guys that change tires at a formula 1 race?
stid, i try not to take too much from her own children, plus if i make a wrong decision, what then?
I think if you are her primary caregiver, then you automatically, from an experiential standpoint, have more information than her children unless they are in daily contact with her? If you are her primary caregiver then you need to know what is going on with her so that you don't inadvertently make an error.
hi all...
you don't have to make the decisions granny, but as her primary care giver yu need to be made aware of all her medical stuff..esp. cause yu're a nurse
okay * climbs down off soapbox* * grins ruefully * apologies to you all,
fireworks for me!!
hi pini
bb at the flip all :)
WTG MRP!!!!
wtg mrp!
((((((GRanny)))))) you will be okay. so will she.
hey pini! YAY mrp!!!!!
congratulations mrp-oid!!!
oh oh oh, I have a pic for you, stid...brb (while I get it)
now, how about a nice big grid, 350?
going to get a snack while mrp isn't around...bbs
no, 150 or less please.
Isn't is funny how we interpret words across the globe?
I really must focus on reading tomorrow, if I can read an entire book I will be happy.
like????? jac
First thought for the pi6/24 would have been miners for us in UK not Fomrula 1 guys.
like "pot plants" -- I still giggle when UK types use that term
or pi6 workers in an olive factory
or what Jac said
oh, the oxymoron, nice and big in the samesentence?
Pot plants are plants in pots in the house, not 'ganja' plants.
jac, i hear that here in the US of A as well . . .
pls help with clue for last word...a puny po 4,5 just above the p word with oo in it?
bonsoir, chere Une! comment-allez vous?
tres tres fatiguee . . .
et toi?
just, part of the brain?
Une - good point re the olive factory. Gah! Hate olives. I did try to convince myself that I 'should' like them, by eating them in Greek saalads in Crete, but I still don't like them.
not sure...there are 3 po 4,5s in a row in the middle of the po list...I need the third
once u*** a time + s- try that
or put your hat u*** your head , plural
didn't like olive till I discovered "the real deal" in Europe . . . had only had rubbery American black olives
po 4/5: Shelley, Wordsworth; cornmeal mush; make last letter of much a consonant; knife, fork, spo**; skin hole; sex pictures; "left" for a sailor; mail to a person in the UK; anagram
Love fresh olive oil but still hate olvis, fresh or otherwise.
je suis tres jolie -- things are going well for me todya.
je suis tres fatiguee (sp?)
well, how modest of you, stid! LOL
argghh it comes from the leftmost p...still not getting it
assume you meant happy, right? "contente"
stid...refresh to see!!!
I meant to say "happy" -- did I guess wrong?
jolie is pretty LOL
Je dorme tout l'heur!
OMG, pini! ROFLMAO... camo boy!
OOPS!!! LOL
hello
the pope is a ***tiff, plural
hi mlf
stid thx for your clues but I think you missed the one I need....have the cornmeal mush have the next word...need the one above the fork sp***
Thought you'd like that one!!! LOL
Oh, other half, who is up for work now, has presumably just found the cat and shut him into his 'room'. I'd ask Other Half, but he's up the top of the garden somewhere and would complain if I switch the outside lights on to walk up there.
howdy all! guessing 278
just, what i said
have that granny need the one right under it
yes, Une -- sorry, multi-non-tasking at the moment. je suis contente!
At 40, he can still 'see' in the dark. At 52, I cannot.
