Sweet dreams to you all. Until tomorrow :-)
Night roses!

Good morning all
Good morning, Soodle.
sexy
I'll say nothing.
OH my! I am sorry
Illegal aliens have always been a problem in the United States. Ask any Indian. -Robert Orben
Good morning, BabbleRabble.
Hello, Haz and Soodlebum
hi all :)
Good morning! Are you feeling better, Ata?
and hello from me too :)
getting there!
Hi all from the Pb.
Oh good! People are arriving. I was beginning to think that there was a babble party and my invitation hadn't come.
Hello, Ata and FM
lol Soodle
Heave yourself out of there, Soodle, an entrance like that gets you a pardon.
I'm here too. Just waking up enough to communicate
How about a brunch party?
Hello to Eva as well.
will someone bring me a tray in bed-someone who doesn't mind getting the plague?
I have constructed a small columbarium in the penalty box awaiting my urn
Hello, Eva
hi Haz and BR
Awe, are you unwell Eva?
That'll be Ata, she'll have the antibodies to fight off infection.
not well enough to nurse yet. send FM
maybe a bowl of antibodies with cream sauce would be a good breakfast
No, it's gruel and antibodies or nothing.
just whatever creeping crud is making the rounds in Vermont...but its been hanging on for almost 3 weeks now.
Heavens I shall rush about and get trays ready for Eva and Ata whilst stocking the PB.
thank you FM-just wear a mask and push the tray under the door
FM gets the award for Humanitarian Babbler of the day.
just got the last w!
and I b;lame FM for the flu. I was fine till I saw her!!
But has FM had the flu? Or is she just a spreader, like Typhoid Mary?
I don't think this is the flu-as I haven't had a fever....just some random, evil virus
we'll call her Typhoid FM
I'll see to Merp too as I am sure he is hungry. Excuse me - I didn't give you food poisening nor flu - look to your friend in Sunningdale for that!
Merp is fine. He likes it when his humans are housebound.
I am happily germ free (touch wood).
Is the lady protesting too much?
But if you have any dead mice he'd be very pleased
Darn, all out of dead mice right now *adds to shopping list*
Ata, how did you cope with Hobbit when you weren't well?
Did you have to fix up a treadmill or a trampoline?
I made husband walk her at 6am every day before he went to work!!
I'm sure he was thrilled!
I bet that was fun in the dark and all!
when he saw that I couldn't actually walk across a room without clutching at the bannisters / walls etc, he saw the need ...
luckiy Merp doesn't believe in exercise
Merp is a very sensible cat.
actually, it's been ok. Hobbit hurt her leg last weekend anyway, so she's been on a programme of bed rest and not long walks - she just strained a muscle or something, wonderful limp that miraculously goes away when pheasants are seen
A convenient injury in that case.
very!
She didn't limp at all when I was trying to kidnap her last week :)
Goodness, what dastardly plot were you hatching, FM?
she did a few hours later after being walked round virginia water!
OH I bet! That is a good long walk.
oh! I wrote up my blog about skydiving: http://www.marquista.com/wb log/
ooooh - goes to look
we didn't walk round the bit next to arched bridge, but stormed round the rest of the lake with Hobbit and friend's chow
Nicely described, Ata!
Une!!! NOOOOOO!!
??? mrp
:)
It'll be tennis, Eva.
Nadal lost... Une and I will be in mourning for some time
my condolences
when did this happen?
Lovely piece of writing Ata - really captures the feeling.
I thought it would have something to do with Nadal.
2 minutes ago eva
ty :) thought you'd like to read
And I can't see an aberrant apostrophe anywhere, so very well done!
I won't tell my tennis buff friends
Nadal got trounced on... bludgeoned... clobbered... etc
I may need to go through it again just to make sure...
think I need to take a break to snooze some more. Later
I do have standards :P
Bye, Eva, hope you feel better soon.
bye eva, bye merp!
phantom: axolotl
Feel well soon Eva.
Ata - that is n incredible pic of the moon in your blog.
Time for me to poof and get on with other things. Happy Babbling!
not bad just holding the camera!
bye dear!
Toodle-oo, FM.
is Ballymena full of mourning Boyzone fans, Haz? Or is that just down in Ireland itself?
Dublin came to a standstill yesterday, Ata.
I haven't met any mourners, people in Dublin seem to have been very shocked - not surprising considering how young he was.
Was it the whole of Dublin, Soodle? Not just near the church?
my uncle died of the same thing, at about stephen gately's age. very sad
It was the whole surrounding area - traffic was chaos all day yesterday.
I am by no means a Boyzone fan, but I thought the service was quite moving
I didn't see it, just a snippet on the news afterwards.
and they didn't show the intimate details all over the tv. which was wonderful
Sky News carried it for over 2 hours yesterday
Seriously? I'm surprised at that, Soodle.
inside the church? I thought cameras weren't being allowed
They were just filming from outside the church. It was a difficult job for the commentators - an awful lot of long silences. Then the cameras just panned to the crowds. Microphones transmitted the goings-on from the church.
Someone flew from Taiwan for one day to be there. I don't understand that kind of devotion.
I don't like commentators that don't allow silences to be silent. sometimes talk isn't needed
George would be very disappointed
Can anybody clue me for the last 2 TE's please.
George knows that there are limits.
They are Indian tents with maximum number of vowels,
Sorry, minimum number of vowels.
he's very understanding
Understanding and suave, what more could you want?
Hax - its the 2 TE words following the golfers aids...
that's what she's cluing
Yes, te plus a childish word for urinate(s).
Ah!! Got it. Thank you. And who is George?
George Clooney. Haz keeps him in a cupboard
George Clooney.
Don't say it like that, Ata, people will think that there's coercion involved.
Oh my!! Is poor Mr Clooney still under the stairs? He must be getting cabin fever now.
a very nice cupboard. a good few steps up from a kennel
There's a cupboard under the stairs, Soodle, where George likes to take refuge when he's feeling a bit overwhelmed with attention.
Poor man, he has crazed females after him all the time, not to mention the photographers.
Haz, you are doing a marvelous job with him. But its you I feel sorry for, and so, I am offering the cupboard under my stairs if you would like some respite. Purely an altruistic offer!
don't think Haz can't see past kind offers like that ........
Ahem. To clarify. Thats George who is being invited to my 'under-the-stairs'
Well, I'll let him know of your offer. He's a bit shy so he might not say yes.
So you'd rather have George Clooney under your stairs than me? You do surprise me.
Haz, you have a nice vet there in Ballymena! Poor George will have nobody if you go on your holliers. I'm thinking about poor George here!!
does george often need a vet?
George being under the stairs is purely a humanitarian gesture on my part, I have no romantic designs on him at all, unlike some others I could mention, like that Scrabbler who thinks she's engaged to him. George and I share many a laugh over that one.
shameless use of untruth for one who is a pillar of the disabled riding community!
Haz - Just promise me one thing. Don't let the vet get at George with his gelding equipment...
The thought!
Tears to the eyes.....
or what he once threatened Spangle with ....
I know! But he didn't mean it, he does have his little jokes.
lol I know. it's amusing to blackmail him with forever though!
I'm going to have to head to the kitchen to start on the next stage of lunch preparations.
what's on the menu today?
hi
herin!
We begin with cream of celery soup with crusty rolls, roast silverside of beef with yorkshire puddings, Bushmills sauce, baby boiled potatoes, potato croquettes, carrot and parnip mash, green beans, then for pudding raspberry layered pudding with raspberry coulis and mixed berries soaked in strawberyy balsamic vinegar. Tea and coffee. The end.
Yes I exist my internet has been shocking so I have largely given it the finger and been playing PC games. Hope you are all well.
*sigh*
I am so going to Hazes house for the pudding.
I ate a whole medium pizza.
that sounds as wonderful as usual!
Hello herin - I'm just heading into the kitchen, I'll save you a piece. (the pudding is biscuit crust, a layer of fresh raspberries in jelly, topped with whipped cream and melted marshmallows mixed.
yummy.
A medium pizza is 11inches
Anyway, I'd better skedaddle and get the rolls baked etc. Bye for now!
Enjoy
O I had a question. Does anyone know what is the best brand of cat claw clippers to buy
I always buy Mikka products for cats and dogs, dunno if you can get them in Aus though
Thanks Let me have a look. Is that the slide style clippers?
Mikki / mikka, one or the other, can't remember
um. dunno ... they are just whatever type I could get! but they work well :D
Lucius got me on the face under the eye tonight so i am not amused. Faint paper cut scratch too close to my eye for my liking
toenail clippers work just as well though really, as long as the cat will stay vaguely still
Yes that is the type I would like the Nail Clipper Guillotine style as they kitties wriggle
nail clippers + kitty in a towel
Nail Clippers + B.f = Win
yep!
Excuse me brb need to fill a water bowl
and if you do cut too near the quick and it starts too bleed, just cover it in bicarbonate of soda to stop the bleeding
thank youI will do that
bfs parents used to bred poodles so I think he knows how to trim the claws but I will definatly tell him that one
plus they don't carry on like you are trying to kill them
Sily's actually remearkably good at having her nails trimmed. she just gives me the glare of doom adn suffers it
awww
OH they are actually banning Golliwogs from Noddy
wow .....
new Noddy book has no Golliwogs as it would be deemed racist
I know that they renamed the Far Away tree characters
surprised they havent got rid of Big Ears too
Its so silly
it really is
awwww boy just walked in and kitty promptly owned his lap.
awww. I should go back to bed and Sily will do the same to me
What time is it for you nap time?
nearly 1pm. but receovering from flu right now so the whole day is pretty much nap time
:(
any time I can stay up for longer than about 3 hours is a bonus right now!
that sucks
it does. but it's getting better :)
good
I am going through my FB apps now my net is being dismal
no fun :(
ok, I'm going to nap. hope your net starts behaving, herin!
Missing you too
*hugs herin and poofs*
good morning
now i see i just missed the brits? but herin, it's been a while, how've you been?
morning Dorens
I have been good
and you?
Hi Dorens and herin Sunday afternoon here and time for babble and the Sundya papers :)
Hi FM
hunky dory. oh there's fm. we were talking about all of you last night. nothing malicious, just naming some people cause scrabbler's sister came along and she finds the names hilarious
I heard it's yr birthday next week herin? Any plans?
Next Saturday and no plans every one has tanked on me
well, hope you have a nice day
Oh we will have to ahve a babble party then :)
Thanks guys. I have to do a survey on the day get money so that makes my day better
Peoples screen names can be so funny or intriguing can't they Dorens?
24th isn't it hern? Will make a note to change my icon to a birthday celebration :)
Am going to dive into the grid now - so stand back :)
IT is the 24th. Thank you
Me, too. I've been rubbernecking. What a grid this is!
Oh dear is it not a good one Merk?
it's a great one
just back with coffee. yes, fm. some amusing names, sometimes wonder how people come up with them
Howdy Hurshy and Merk
hi merk and hursh
hi all
Hey hurshy! Long time no see, how was your UK holiday?
*lovely*
oh hursh, have you been recently? nice
yes, my husband planned a surprise trip to cornwall for our tenth anniversary
oh how incredible... a surprise.. lucky you
I hope you saw the best of the country and the weather!
i think we did, fmitch :) but then, i like british weather.
Yea, the grid is fine. I just need coffee first. It is very original.
The farther I get into it, the more I love it.
is that original as in: lots of words you've never seen before?
OK am going to start the grid so TTFN
one pass through and i've 9 to go.
No, with the location of the x primarily. Ordinarily I don't get so many words from it; also lots of compound words.
i can't find the third row E, though
compound words always do make it interesting.
I have to go to bed but I also ate too much piza
third row ex sounds like a brand name
i keep thinking exlax :)
i didn't tell you what it's a brand name because that might be too much of a clue , but if you'd like me to i will
ooh i got it!
atta girl!
the right-hand A is also giving me troubles. i think there must be some compound word there i'm not seeing.
i only have two from there, and i'm sure you have those
i have a third, which is a thing in the brain
actually that is one of my two
night all
hehe
oh i see what i missed that you thought i had.. blind
night herin
ax 6 and 7
to plant an idea
morning babblerabble
Hello, Dorens
to plant... an idea...
wow babrab, that essay is thorough.. an interesting and scary topic- as we (the baby boomers) age, what an effect.
i got it!
ok. got it. compound
thanks
clue for the se 6, 30 please. I just am not seeing it.
playground equipment, merk
playground thing
a playground item
OK, searching
oh yeah, duh
if you s** it, you s** it :-)
phantom epoxy
now that's an original clue for it, dan
The Washington Post has a similar ad campaign "if you don't get it, you don't get it"
i got that
Yep, Dorens. We all will get older, if we live that long.
my dad always said, no matter what ailments he dealt with, that he preferred it to the alternative
Many simply want someone to care they are alive.
babrab, was just checking my email and i have one from rudy (it's been a while). as usual, he is very witty, and says absolutely nothing about his condition.
yes, br, I agree that loneliness is a major issue. have you looked into the community living situations going on in various parts of the country? make a lot of sense
I am happy for you that he wrote.
good morning =
good morning =)
hello, specificity
morning specificity
How is your ankle doing, Dorens?
better thanks.. the doc says after this weekend i'm down to one crutch, and then a cane. (in the house i hobble on one crutch, or limp for short distances). once in a while it hurts, but not bad. think i'll be ok!
Progress is great.
indeed... remember the old GE commercials? "progress is our most important product"?
Yes
opening chat.. Happy Sunday, Babblers! Hi BabbleRabble, Dorens, specificity.. glad your ankle is getting better, Dorens (-:
hi aloy (and you're in the grid today)
Pax, Aloyisius
I noticed that, Dorens, (-:
BR, thought of you when I heard about the white stuff in ND.. did you get a lot?
Not much .. probably will get more
do you have all the "stuff", like snow blowers and rock salt, etc?
Did not take long for the cold to undress the trees
waiting for the rest of the leaves to fall here so I can get them mulched
very cool word, au6: "a soothsayer of ancient Rome".. wow
Winter has its challenges, SAD among them. Some of my fondest memories include walking home from the library at 11 at night in a full moon with the quiet only interrupted by the crunching of my feet.
nice memory.. snow crunches when it is very cold out.. my fond memories include xc skiing under a full moon
BR.. Your memory is wonderful..sounds like me. I love shoveling just after it snows at night when it so quiet and the snow glistens in the moonlight. It is very peaceful.
other than light therapy, is there a treatment for SAD?
Yes, R-K-B ... thinking back has gotten me smiling.
I think exercise is good ...
tsed
forget that...a slip of the fingers
yes, BR.. get the endorphins flowing
but hard to get going when you feel so down
BR: My mother taught me the value of doing things the old fashioned way; housecleaning, hanging laundry, shoveling instead of using machinery to do everything. She is very spry at 82. i do not hang laundry, but do most chores by hand. All good exercise.
ho4.9 at the moon, put some music on, grab the shovel, enjoy the beauty of the flakes, hot cocoa, bundle up.. am getting in the winter mode (-:
I do feel for those that are limited by illnesses or other circumstances - i am talking about those that can and chose not to. Aloyisius...I've been there too - so don't think I am on a soapbox here. Even though the winter memories are nice - the sun and no snow is better! :)
does anyone have the 8 word yet?
you have a wise mom, RKB.. I love to hang laundry but not when it is too cold out! Thinking back on the winters of '77-78, ugh.. I think xc skiing saved my sanity, so I'm glad I was younger then
the 8 is what the opthalmologist told me I have
vision organ and distinction dalmatians are noted for; pl
thx...figured it was compound, but couldn't SEE it - down to last 25 and slowing.

Hi Aloy
Aloy...just read your profile...great story
thx, RKB. Haven't updated my profile in a long time
neither have I, I have to credit my sister for introducing me to a great hobby and terrific people.
listening to NPR report on the problem with giant invasive snakes in Fla.. people shouldn't have pets they can't care for! Now there is quite an eco problem from dodos that have released those snakes
RKB, I credit my son.. he told me about Babble (-:
any help for the au 6...
BR, I just read the message in your profile. Unfortunately, very true.
au + old fashioned eyeglasses, ***cs + the film was * rated
done .. reluctantly, must go.. thought the grid was a fun one today, hoped for a "biggee" on Sunday. Bye Babblers, Pax, BR! (-: Till next grid.. poof
can I have the start letters/points for the 8?
dan, it's the plural of ey7/40
tx une! got both
:-D
stopping back to thank BabbleRabble for posting such a thoughtful and comprehensive look at aging in America.. thanks, BR!
Ditto Aloy, I read it also and found it moving in many ways. A lot to think about. Ditto on the TY to BR.

Hello everybody! Just in time to say congrats dan.
and RKB. well done!
thx..love your gkids pics...so adorable!
That was last Christmas. I need to update but thank you for noticing.
I have never changed my profile or icon. Not sure why not...bye for now. Fun grid today.
Why do I even try words like LO5/22? I'm always amazed when they work. What the heck does it mean?
I left my keys in the ignition and lo+++ myself out
or is it from lox?
Alleyn, cutie patootie little girl! What a great way to babysit ;)
Was about to change her, Kate - 3 - for one of our two new grandkids!!
I love the concept of no chasing, no changing diapers...it's all good!
Hello all! I am recovering from last night's Babble Mtg at Doren's with JBV, Owl + nrkii. I left Doren's house at, I think 12:30 am.
I'm jealous of the comraderie and friendships that have formed. I think there are only 4 of us in Vermont and we're all at opposite sides of the state.
WELL HOW ABOUT LONDON CALLING?
So meet in the middle of the state.
gramma, just picture me all the way down in Tennessee :-(
ok, 17 to go -- BBL *poof*
Owl said she has met you before, Une. Your name came up last night and I asked how to pronounce it.
Bye Une
yep, My daughter and I met Owl and Dorens at the Cloisters several years ago -- we were there to see some plays :-)
plays in NYC, not at the Cloisters :-)
ok, byeeee
ah, yes, that's what they said
good morning and hi, Scrabbler! nice to "see" you again!
I am totally stuck with 28 to go here, haven't opened the list yet
Hello again, JBV! It was great to meet you in person last night. You are adorable! We played SuperScrabble until 12:30 am--nrkii + Doren beat me, my sister + Owl with an exciting + pummeling comeback involving XU on a triple word tile. Ouch, it hurt.
clue for de 4/12 pls
oh, that must have been fun - sorry I had to leave early
Hi Boobear
Hi Scrabb
now we know we are all REAL people and not just letters on the screen, as someone here once said
I looked at the NJ map before bed and found where you, Nrk and owl live
hi Boobear
hi Jbv
it took me about an hour and 15 minutes to drive home
It took us about 50 min--rain + glare was miserable
de4/12 - add the points, there's only one way to get to 12
hey all.. good morning.. glad you got home safely ladies
hi Dorens
Hi Doren!!!
jbv, i am so sorry you weren't here when i remembered i could take pictures from the computer... you should be in my icon hi boobear
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody today?
I still cannot believe that I really met my Babble buddies.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
I'm back. I had to answer the stoopid phone. How dare they call when I'm Babbling along.
hi dorens - that's ok, maybe nrkii will post some - it was great fun and thank you again
I am so sorry I missed the New Jersey babble meeting
Not sure where it was, but I live not too far from NJ.
hi Min
and thank you, for your contribution. i really enjoyed it so much (even if I never finished yesterday's grid and mucked up my silly ranking)
Hi All
hi, Min - where are you?
minver, i had it in my profile for a month --- sorry you missed it, but will try to make sure we get you there next time we do it. was such fun and scrabs, i was just thinking i forgot to give you an empty bottle!
hi hego
gramma, I used to live in Vermont, so there are four Vermont babblers&one ex-Veromonter babble player.
Thanks Rhaydon for the de12 clue. I never thought to look at it llike that.
Hi Dorens
Hello hego! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
the superscrabble game was fantastic.. and very close... kind of like that yankees game, eh?
Dorens, please put me on the list if you all get together again. Depending where in NJ, I could probably get there.
My sister here is saying again what a wonderful time she had spending time with nice, intelligent, funny women.
Thanks Min. I'm also in NJ. At the shore.
absolutely, judy, but I am in northern nj. not impossible. a day time thing would probably be best and scrabs, i'm so glad she came... she sure fit right in with us (i think she was actually the funniest though)
hego, where? i am heading to long branch today for a conference. not looking forward to ddriving in this teeming rain
JBV,I live in Dutchess County New York so I am close to the NJ/NY border. I don't always read the profiles
My sister lets loose easily and is very funny. She is very extroverted and I am an introvert.
np, hego
ok min, we'll do this again and be sure to let you know.. but when is scrabbler going to come back down? an't do it without her!
I need to make an effort to come down here once -twice a year. Six hour drive.
Scrabbler, you drove six hours for the babble meeting
I came down here on Wednesday to be with my sister--northern Bergen Cty near state line.
hello
Hi, all, another Babble meet? Will there be pics?
yes, you do need to make the effort. and let us know ahead of time again, as you did this time.. and we will all make an effort to tell everyone in ny/pa area
Hello paeton! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Ok now I feel badly about the lack of effort here. We could drive around the entire state in 6 hrs.
Dorens

Scrabbler -- I had to delete one picture from the bunch or you guys wouldn't have forgiven me
I went to bed at 2 am, woke up at 10:20 am.
but only 1, so that's not bad
lol crossy
Wasn't SuperScrabble a special treat? I prefer it to regular Scrabble, if I have time for the longer game.
crossy is now dreaming about why you needed to delete.. was that the one of us skinnydipping in the hottub?
yep, that was a lot of fun
no, it was the one when the cops came
totally special. was perfect for the occasion
cop strippers? ;)
oh, and took the cabana boys away?
lol! woohoo!
exactly
nrk, I mentioned earlier how much my sister (3 yrs younger than me) enjoyed spending time with smart, kind, stable women--she works with women that wine about their hubbies + kids or boyfriends, etc.
a good looking bunch of ladies;)
oh she fit right in, didn't she? we need to get her babbling someday
yes, the group last night was a lot like my supper club friends... smart, kind, stable women is a perfect way to describe it!
My sister just isn't interested in spending time in front of a computer screen
you mean we're not wordy nerdy women?
Yes, that makes us smart! Word nerds, word geeks = interesting.
i do understand that scrabs, even tho i seem to live in front of mine

SUN IS FINALLY OUT HERE!
Yes, we had a great evening, topped off by a game of SuperScrabble with a great comeback by nrk + Doren vs me, Owl + my sister
No sun here in NY. It is raining so it is a good day to just stay inside and babble in bed, like I'm doing now.
great idea Min! Do you have some cabana boys to bring you food and drink?
Nrkii, thanks for sharing your pictures. Glad you all had a great time. I've been away from Babble for quite some time. But will probably be stopping by a little more often again & will see you all here.

I had planned to leave my sister's, for the drive home, at 10 am, I awoke at 10:20 am, and am still not showered or dressed.
understandable.. that was a late night for us as well as the yankees
Scrabs, it's that kind of a day
hey, all that food did me a world of good yesterday
I lost a pound!
And I must have breakfast/lunch now as my caffeine level is high and my blood sugar is plummeting.
lazing around myself today, might get a shower in before dinner time:)
you diabetic scrabbs?
eh, crossy, why bother... we can't smell you!
wow nrk, i don't know how.. not with that cake and the chocolates. i don't dare weigh myself these days.. the lack of exercise has sure taken its toll
We listened to the Yankees game on the drive home and my sister went crazy while I was trying to drive in the rain, in the dark, and not hit a deer
I went crazy too scrabs, but I was safely on the highway by then
No, I am not a diabetic, but I get hypoglycemic easily and can then faint. It also will precipitate a migraine.
Dorens, sometimes my body likes it when I overeat... it rewards me by dropping weight... but only if I limit that to about one day a week
scrabs the mums are going on the front porch today, thanks.. (they are in one of nrkii's pictures)
lots of crazy drivers on the road.. sounds like George Bush's kids are partying again.
ooh, scrabs... eat! eat!
So, I must go pig out now--haven't even since being at your place Doren!
Yummers! TY Ruru and Dorens!
you can't afford a migraine today if you need to drive home!

Goodbye MetFan! I will see you tomorrow in the chat
dear, dear, babble- i have just read you profile peice and have stopped crying long enough to let you know that it it appreciated- i am 70 and walter is 83- we KNOW these things because we live these things. we are very lucky because we have 4 loving, caring children but i ache for the others who do not- God bless you Rab for bringing it to our attention
I have said it on here more than once. BabbleRabbles pieces are inspirational - and very often uncannily appropriate! Thank you BabbleRabble
Hello sammysmom! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Hi Soodlebum! How are you doing?Weclome to the grid
Hiya Minver. I'm OK, thank you. Hope all well with you and yours?
Thanks, sammysmom and Soodlebum ... hello folks
:)
I'm well on this rainy day.Got out of bed not long ago.
*giggles* poor Ireland "One of Ireland's most characteristic features is the bog."
Ata!!!! Without bogs, how could we bog-snorkel?
It was a beautiful day here today, and brought to mind BabbleRabbles recent verse about the beauty of sunny October days.
well of course :D it was just a very amusing statement!
Hi Atalante! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
I've finished, just giggling about bogs
Congratulations on finishing early Atalante! Hooray!
Soodle- dea soodle- i have also just read you peice - and am so delighted. have printed it so i can amuse my 82 year old friend when i call her. she is nearly blind now and connot see to read so i look for amusing things to discuss with her in our gab sessions- this one has plenty of meat- also will do rabbles peice- what a gabfest to look forward to- she will love it!!!
I have to do an assignment about irish bogs, soodle :)
I LOVE your icon Atalante! My hubby's very sarcastic
*grins* thought some babble people would enjoy!
see that- my eyes are misty and i cannot see my terrible spelling and who the hell cares about the punctuation anyway?
Thank you Sammy - I hope she enjoys it. Ata - as a bog-dweller, I am sure I can help you with your assignment.... So, fire away if you have any questions. Not all your classmates will have help fromthe horses mouth£££
we all know what you mean!
I've got to read up all about it over the next day or two. I think I'll know more abotu bog classification that I ever wanted to know by the end of it
hello everyone
how is the grid tonight?
medium-ish
ish? lol should i give it a miss tonight then?
no, no, defintiely possible
with a few odd words with x in
i always find x words odd anyway, silly letter
jacq- after checking out you icon- it reminded me of the song - starry starry night- googled it yeaterday and found a 4 minute thing of the song with vincent's paintings- it was wonderful!!
these are particularly odd ones!
it's one of my favourite paintings, this and "the persistance of memory" (sp?)
That was the first record (!!) I ever bought - Don McClean singing Vincent,
and i always have that song in my head when i see my own icon lol
jacq- also sent a note to my sister- who has 3 maine coon cats named vinvent-theodore- and madeline- she loved it too
i had a friend who had a cat called cat and a dog called dog, she was a hippy and a bit spacey and she felt that it was unfair of her to give them a name they might hate, i just remembered her just now lol
And the B side to that record was a totally random, very tongue in cheek song called 'Put the Bone In', which went straight over my head back in the day
lol
very risque
It was only years later that the light dawned....
i bet lol
"Through a chink too wide, there comes in no wonder" - Patrick Kavanagh
Hello jacq! How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle
Whew. thought my poetic ramblings killed the chog!
heya Min
sorry soodle was lost in the grid
I think Monkeygames is lurking ...
hello friendly types!
*ignoring unfriendly types*
:-D I am TOTALLY slacking off for fifteen minutes....
hi stid!
hello mama
Hey Stid!! :)
wonders about the unfriendly types lol, unheard of in the chog i think
Hi stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
quite right mama, slacking off is necessary to achieve targets
(they lurk jacq)
Monkeygames was indeed very briefly lurking and now has returned to lurk... errr, not lurk... again!
MONKEY!!!! (((((((hugs))))))) how are you doing? are you well? I haven't even had time to glance at facebook in over a week.
*grins* we know these things ..... :D
Monkey - come on in! the chog is lovely!!!
Hi MonkeyGames! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
ahhhhh
the chog is warm tonight
I'm hanging in there. Sundays suck right now but some company might be nice. How is everyone?
Ata saw me post the Starry Starry Night video to Facebook, folks, that's how she knew!
I am sorry Sundays suck. Mine are ever-so-busy, but will cope. School is uber-busy, and I am sorta-coping.
yep :D
/me is sneaky
Oops, still have THIS photo here? Hang on while I retrieve the new one. Hang in there Stid! Brb.
i started a facebook a few days ago, i decided to add the ex, just to keep things friendly and we promptly fell out on facebook, 2 minutes after i created my rofile
i seriously think we cannot be friends
oh noooo!
Nice pic, Monkey, and hi, good to see ya!
after 7 years he should know i will be totally honest with him, but he fell out with me because he didn;t like being told he was still responsible for his daughter despite her being 16
Akk, jacq! Bummer! I have not added my ex... nor indeed spoken to him in it must be 18 years.
Thanks and hi, Rbud!
I still see the old one.
I do, too, in the chog - but it's in your profile just fine.
brb mama moment
i still speak to my ex husband because we live in the same town and the girls need to have a stable relationship with us both, but i just recently broke up with my fiance
Hurry back!
Oh no! Are you OK?
I live across the Atlantic from my ex.
now phone
i am fine MG, strangely unemotional about it all, i don;t miss him, sad to say, but i don;t, he isn;t taking it well and is feeling very sorry for himself, but still managed to create a dating site profile after 3 days
lol
People react to things in their own ways. I'm glad you're OK!
lol! well he can't be too traumatised!
Can I get a clue for the ax 6 and 7? There was one much earlier that I didn't really get about ideas...
exactly, he went on a date too from it, but i think it ended badly, he texted me after an hour and said she had gone home, what am i supposed to do about that?
ax + little plantlings
That's a WORD??? Thanks!
ty ata, ty very much
lucky time to be chatting lol
here-ish, now calling Mother back.
three days.. I'd say he recovered quickly
Understood, Stid. We'll hold the fort.
need a clue please for thete 6/21
the date was a few eeeks after, but his profile was very bitter and self pitying, i told him he should take it out till he felt better
Good advice.
That te 6/21 wprd is an indian dwelling sammysmom.
nothing like a cranky blind date
How about that lonely E?
ex 4 like the gas company
i'm glad he is at the other end of the country given how he is handling it
Ahhh, thanks!
sorry- i meant the first te 6/21 after the 4/5
I have 5 of the 6 o's from the left one... is there a weird one or am I fishing?
i only have the te6 clued already
indian dwelling sammy..
spelled differently than the other
i have 4 of the 6, sorry
it is te 6 twice very much alike
You can plural the rock if you haven't already, jacq.
nice pic, monkey
i have those both ty
Thanks, stid! It's the same as the Facebook one, from the recent work outing.
Since I'd lost 22 pounds I thought a pic update was recommended.
Congratulations MonkeyGames on losing weight!YAY!
Jacq, who are you on Facebook?
Thanks! That's about halfway to my goal, and it's the tally since 1 July.
Or I'll say who I am if you'd rather...
am just myself and if i had had time to work out how to use it i would tell you how to find me, but try Jacquie, i have it set to only friends finding me with my surname
jacquiegardiner@hotmail.com
that might be better lol
Picture of a horse and foal?
i am so befuddled that i cannot think or even monkey that te-6/21
Like the Indian dwelling but starting like lukewarm, Sammy's.
Hiya everyone
Hi Movie!
There's that O! Finally!
thanks monkey games- one would think i would have seen it right away- after all i am part passamaquoddy
A te 6/21 is adds an extra vowel in the te 5/12 word.
Hi movieman! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

Fine thanks.....grids fine, already 2 thirds done

I need the lone E next to the Y please for NBT? then I have to get back to studying.
hi all...
hey pini !
au 6/39 is au + sounds like old style of glasses Joanne
(grad school sux)
stid...think gas station
ty
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
grad school can be time consuming, stid!
An ex4/9 word is the name of a gas station stidmama
thanks pini. NBT and down to 70. back later maybe to finish... most days I don't manage to get here twice *sad mama look*
but first, a quick update on camo boy, please!
(although I have a GTF who doesn't think actual work is a part of her contract)
Camo Boy is up to about 12 lbs now and starting to "talk"...he's still pretty darn cute!!!
NOW you tell me this about grad school?!? *hmph* some friend...
Down to 109. Feeling rather slap dash and not focused.
WONDERFUL about camo boy! I love it when little ones start to babble!
hello Mother!
want to slap-dash some of my reading for today? ROFL
I said it CAN be...didn't say it WAS!!! You're the type of person that is on the latter side...I have lots of faith in you!!!
*hands bucket of choclit to pini* thanks! will hold on to that thought... LOL
no. I have some review to do for my self study of Latin.
Hello stidgmere! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
bummer. veni legere, vici?
ubi o ubi est meum sub ubi?
* sighs with relief at saving face *
(don't know latin for I read)
<-- doesn't know latin!
ACK! LATIN is WORSE than French! *runs screaming from chog*
Thank you minver. Yes, I'm doing a few things on the computer today with little success.
*poof for now, with a grin*
I don't want to talk about your sub ubi on a family chat.
out Latin books in high school were inscribed: "Latin's a dead language, as dead as it can be. First it killed the Romans and now it's killing me"
*our*
oooh, nice one, Jean LOL
;-p
Hello EspritdJean! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi Min and all youse
and the other inscription is the sub ubi one that stidgmere won't let me talk about
I feel I have stumbled into a family dispute lol
Keeping on your case esprit.
just a little latin humor, PG rated really
That's a little declension joke.
It is like trying to herd sheep, or cats, trying to keep Babblers from turning into Bumblers.
u are very stern stidgranny
Oh, mais non! Je suis sympa.
ok I believe you
I'll just keep my mildly twisted humor to myself
Speaking of such, I am down to merely 101 words remaining. Babble 101.
i wonder if wa4/15 is the highest point possible in a 4 letter word?
ox5 plz/thx?
down to 10 here
ox and face organ
and plural
thx joanne...would never have gottn that one!
yvw
face organ, you mean harmonica? lol
That ox 5/24 word is ox plus a seeing organ Pinikula.
lol
my personal favorite ox word not in the grid is oxpecker
which of course is a bird
is is a bird that rides around on the back of an ox?
i didn't want to say it that way min cause u said a word lol
yes and other animals, picking off the nits and nuisances
Koda's gotta go out...back later for the last 8
Did I spill a word? Do I need to go to the Penalty Box?
anyone have the 8?
that vision thing
Goodbye Pinikula! I will see you later in the chat log!
it's a compound, seeing organ and red blemishes on the face
bye pini
vision organ and round dots
ey8/55 is seeing organ plus sp5/12 word EspritdJean
min there you go again
Well then jcq can also join me in the Penalty Box too.
ohhh yes
what a gofy word
I didn't know adding a gerund would put me in the PB.
enjoy the munchies
goofy even
someone stocked it ..so you's can watch movie too..think at some point a tv must have been added
minver you are NOT going to the pb, who are these people who keep seeing words when we have not typed them? Do they want to deny my right to talk about ox and lox also?
lol
Might I be excused from PB to take my dog on a walk?
I'm with you Harp! anyway, the cupboard in the PB is bare. Would put Old Mother Hubbard to shame!
done, this one was sort of easy!
I will be back after I take dog on a much needed walk
I saw the goofiest dog today, a chiweenie
wtg harp congrats
Congratulations harpjane on fireworks! Good for you
chihuahua dashcund cross....
creeps into pb and steals all the choclits and takes them to mins place
Jac -the PB is bereft. Empty. sans choclit. A bare and barren place. :(
I'm dog sitting for my sisters 2 Yorkies and must do likewise. They are standing with crossed legs and a pained expression!! lol
wtg harp!!
I didn't know we had a Penalty Box. As bad as the hockey players I suppose.
oh dear
A lot of things I do not know here ... used to be divulging two letters was the norm for a clue. Now it is two letters and another two from another word ... four letters ... and if you have the word in your list ... you do not even have to look at the grid to get the second word.
fills the pb with my friends cheesecake, the best in the whole world!!
hello BR
Lead on, McDuff...............
Or McJac!
Hello, jacq
lol @ Mcjac
can anyone clue the se6/30 please?
playground up and down
ty BR, was all around that too
Good clue BR, thank you.
hello everyone!
every time I see a cluer give the first 2 letters of a word and then the first 2 letters of another word in the same clue I am always sort of taken aback. Is that allowed?
Hello, Annie
Hi BR!
hi all!
Oooooooh. Speaking as a wanna-be babbler, all clues are very very welco
hello there, nrkii
BR and Annie, it's all "allowed" but maybe just a little too much help for some of us
Meanwhile, see see see see see... and I'm not going to the penalty box, except to drop by, wave and leave lots and lots of wine and chocolate
hello nrkii
in the old days, people used to even clue using "snake letter" for S and "double hump" for M... don't see much of that anymore
hi jac!
*waves back and thinks of what word should I enter in the chog so I can get to the choc and wine*
and annie!
had much fun and done ty for clues and byeee
I"m already done, just dropped in to say hi
congrats to all
and fireworks, after my amazing monkeys found the sy words
feeds cheesecake to monkeys
congrats nrkii..I remember the snake letter and the humps.
wtg jacq
yay jac!!!
congrats, jacq
congrats, jacq

bye everyone thanks for the chat and the help
Goodbye jacq. Hae a nice day.
bye jacq!
Stuck on PE 4/6. Straight after the one for uninates
nrkii, I was reading BR's profile (very moving) and when I came back the pics of the babble meet were up. Thanks, nrkii. But who is who? The pictures are great.
expressions of disgust, perhaps?
Annie, I just labeled them
okay..back to the pics
Yay Nrkii. thaks
oh my, it sounds like there are 1000 geese flying over my house
I love the sights and sounds of autumn. Lucky you nrkii.
nrkii, thanks so much. the pictures are wonderful and you all look so pretty.
pe + *a*te makes waste
Oh Finally. Fireworks. that wasn't the easiest grid I ever did. Can I help anybody?
I love the sights and sounds of autumn too, especially if it means the geese are going AWAY.
Hoory Soodlebum. Good for you. I'm down to 34 and feeling very confident that I can walk away from this one at any time.
yay soodlebum!!!
Oh geese are very messy.
YAY for soodle!!
Ha, Stid! I have 3 teenagers at my back, all saying, hurry up with the computer, Mam. Honestly! Who pays for the electric? Who pays for the broadband? Who paid for the fecking computer??? Hrumphh
yes, from March through October there is goose poop all over town... and they're mean... though I haven't had any hiss at me lately
you tell
you tell'm soodle
Who pays? Good question! Time enough for homework. Important things need accomplishing by adults. Be strong. Vale!
I think they may be reading this over my shoulder, so....Nyah nyah na na ha!
yeah, like in the Princess Bride, when Peter Falk says "In my day, television was called books," we didn't even have computers when we were their age... just tell them to use paper and a pencil and a slide rule...
Ok. I submit! Gotta go. Happy Babbling everybody. See y'all soon
bye soodle... be well!
bye soodle
okay, I'm disappearing for a while
happy babbling all!
bye, nrkii
Goodbye nrkii! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
Hi to all who entered while I was out walking the dog.
Congratulations to all who got FW's while I was away.
Poof to all, time to think about lunch. All the talk about the PB being full of goodies makes me think it is time to have something.
bye stidgemere
Goodbye stidgmere!I will see you tomorrow in the log
good afternoon, everyone!
could someone please offer a clue for either of the non-grain 'R' words?
The ry 4/7 sounds like what you peel off of an orange
ry5/16 is plural of the ry 4/7 word & hi Takuma Sato
thanks very much!
yw
'afternoon, folks (so jealous of the gals who got together last night ... looks like everyone had a blast!)
Hello welki! How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle
hi min :)
hi welki and takuma
it was a lot of fun welki
hi all
hi jmc
Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
hi nrk, jm takuma
j, are you home yet?
yes, I go home late last night
I just got back thsi after noon from spending some time with my mother
How is your mom jmcnrick? Did you have a good visit?
how's she doing? you? *pouring jm a tot of jack because i have a feeling*
it was a nice visit. she seemed to know who I was and was ppropriately shocked when I told her I drove through snow last night
ooo ty for the jack *beaming and sipping*
oh, that's good jmc
the saab's great in the snow, huh? add a set of good tires and those white knuckles are things of the past
we watched some of the redskins game and went out on the porch for a while
lol I will find out since i have to go to upstate NY in Feb.
It has been snowing in Washington, D.C. in October?
i pretty much stick mine in the garage for the winter. drivers here lose what little common sense they have when the roads deteriorate ... i drive a jeep in the winter
Where in upstate New York are you going jmcnrick?
no it was in PA, WV and western Maryland in the mounttains on the trip home min
hmmm, remembering driving to Rochester in February years ago... like driving through frozen tundra
we had snow/ice all last week. took me 2 hours and 40 minutes to travel 20 km.
yeah I am not looking forward to the feb trip but its a long time yet
Oh, your mother lives in upstate New York jmcnrick?
oh my! You could have walked it almost as fast!
I remember one of the spring trips I took to visit my sister (a different one) who was living in calgary
no kidding, nrk ... astounds me that, when i lived in sussex co, the roads were bare and dry hours after a fall. here, they wait for spring
we went up to baanf and there was 10 feet de4 snow everywhere and people skiied across lake louis
spring storms can be pretty awful here, j ... 'course, you're welcome to be here for one any time you like :)
ahhh, that might have been in 1997 .. sound right? st. patrick's day?
hmmmm I think not welki -- but august in alberta is lovely!
hmmm, my house is suddenly cooling off... must go see if I left the door cracked open perhaps...... bbl
no it was in the 1970s welki
ok .. any time in august. or january. or october. or may. or december .....
lol I will put it on my list -- first I have to overcome my aversion to crossing the canadian us border
since 1977 I have been stopped everytime i have crossed that border
(((jmcwelkinrkmin))) hey there!
i get stopped every time, too
back for a few more words...
it's our body type *lol*
for an hour or more?
hiya stid!
hi stiddie
ACK! *border crossing anxiety kicks in&*
can i help with clues before i skedaddle?
Hello stidmama! Welcome back to grid. How many left
I have hardly begun so I will pass but thanks welki
no list yet welki, but thanks. I am hoping for halfway today. down to 67...
then everyone enjoy the rest of the day and i'll "see" you all tomorrow .. bye for now!
sorry i wasn't around when crossy, ruru or torg found se4/11
Goodbye welki!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
later welki
bye welki have a nice evening
se 4/11? really? *looks*
oh, I have that one... LOL
I may have to go read the archive
Why do you have to read archives? I can clue for you
GAH. past halfway suddenly!
it's for the conversation, I think, Min...
to see the reaction of torg, ru and crossy to the se 4/11 word
why are you upset at being 1/2 way? sorry you sent welki away?
no, because I have to get up now and get dressed so
so I can get stidkid#2 to rehearsal and my friend to the store (2 small kids and her car is broken)... and then study more as soon as I get home.
ah too bad *giggle*
I've been here off and on all day, but don't recall the various conversations here.I wasn't here when they found the se4/11 word either jmcnrick and stidmama
anyway... nice to visit with you even though brief. See you next time! *poof*
sorry the timing on the giggle was bad
Goodbye stidmama! I will see you tomorrow in the log
bye stiddie
help with the y pls

hi Annie.
my typing is rubbish ... sorry.
I will try harder, if anyone needs any help.
Thought that you were trying to give a challenge to babblers who are already done with the grid mo.LOL!
I have to start thinking about what to make for dinner so anyone want a clue before I take off?
lol .. Minver.
I have 1 word left and I am saving ot for later, thanks

Goodbye Anniebrook! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!

so i am the only person actively working on grid????
Hi jmc, I am working on it a little. I have been babbling a lot less lately.
no, i'm still ploding along
Stidmama was,but then she left.So guess it's just you
looks like it jmc ....
Hi redturtlehead! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
glad you are here carol! lol
oh! everyone seems to be waking up !!!!
hi red
Hello
I come and go on the babbling too
No, I'm also plodding along.
Hello Carolryberg! How are you? Welcome to the grid
Hello hego! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
hi hego
hi red and carol.
Hello Everyone!
LURKERS have come out to prove us wrong mo! LOL!
and hego.
I'm doing fine, Only have 16 words so far.
TY Min. As I said I'm plodding.
yeah there are just about always a lurker or two! lol

cheers to all the "lurkers".

ty min
good clue Minver.
yw
thank you, very much
Hi tceicher! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I'M ALSO LURKING.
Hey,thank you mo!I have been using that clue all day
love this game
it obviously works.
it can be fun tce
i lurk here daily and occasionally FINISH....occasionally
we all do tceicher.
it can be very fun.
but very obsessive.
you should let people know when you finish so they can celebrate with you!
I think the encouragement is my favorite part
I only allow myself to use the clues with "expert" after I have 75% of the words done. My own rule so I don't make it too easy
is the 8 a compound word?
yes
my rule is that I can use the list if I make 1/2 way -- but I have been known to make exceptions when the grid is especially large or tough
ty hego
ey8/55:a compound word jmcnrick. Do U want a clue
I like to get to less than 40 left, otherwise Lickety gets me all confused...
Hi hego.
no thanks not year min
Whoops. Tremors. Yw jmc
er yet
I'd like a clue for the ey8.
me too...
My rule is to not use list until I am half way finished.I then go through list and fill in 4 & 5 letter words I've missed and then I go to the chat log to look for clues.
ey8 ... is a plural.
An ey8/55 is seeing organ plus sp5/12 word Michnick
Hi Michnick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Was gone from home for a few months.....no expert to help me. Drove me nuts
I find it very hard most days if i don't have a list
sydest
Hi Minervy and everyone else. I am okay but tired. Here it the end of a long and hot day. We are in the midst of a long heat wave. Temps in the 90s!
hi mich
It's in the 90's is Arizona too
Wow! We are skipping fall and going right to winter.
Hi Jmcnrick!
close tce
Is that normal for this time of year. TC? Here we should be experiencing our very fleeting fall.
I sympathise Michnick ... I cannot stand the heat(even in this country) at times.
We'll usually run in the 80's right now, but we were over 100 F yesterday. We'll be cooling down tomorrow and it will be nice
We had a huge cool down, this weekend it went from 90's to 50's. My tires lost a ton of pressure, and I got to learn to fix that!!
how do you poor souls cope!!!!
1/2 way so I am taking a break bbl
Wow, that is hot! I rarely use my AC in the summer because we get such get breezes but now it's running all the time the last 3-4 days.
bye jmc.
Goodbye jmcnrick! I will see you later in the chat log!
Where are you located Red? I know somewhere southern but I forget.
It's a very dry heat in AZ so it's not too uncomfortable
Here it's dry too but I feel like I'm walking around in an oven.
Good time to just stay inside and babble
any clues needed, before I move on?
aw5?
aw5 ... a + clean.
a + We do our w---- on Mondays

yw Takuma Sato
Can I have an sp7 clue? Pls

I'm good thanks, just having a nice chilled sunday night with a glass of wine and the grid :)
I believe there is no sp7 word in the grid today hego.
there isnt an sp7. hego.
Shoot, I mean sp6/30
very fast hego
An sp6/30 is sp 5/14 word plus sometimes vowel hego
build off the 5 and add the sometimes vowel
hego ... alter last letter of previous word.
de6, the second one please
TY, mo
yw.
I have the Home de* one

Can anyone clue the se 6/30 that is before the last se 4?
The se6/30 is same thing as a teeter-totter Michnick

hi ppl!
hi ppl!
heigh ho!
im new here
jus tseeing that the ballon boy was a ho4/10
Hello Dorens! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hey doren!
and i got a little confused
I can tell baby4! Many newbies enter chog like that.
Hi baby4.
had that feeling owl (of course i didn't hear about it until the next day)-- saw footage of the parents looking up at the balloon and sayin "oh no" and it just seemed fake
yes... you know 'loxes' is a word?
hi hego
how was your ride home owl?
...
baby4, we try not to mention words in the chat log
im bored
sooooooooooooo gald i was driving, did not hear until when boy was found...it was good actually, and dad was waiting up as dads are wont to do! :)
uh oh
Why don't you try looking for some words in the grid?
nice photos of the party
who here is 10 or older?
and you inspired me. on way home i shopped and acutally COOKED
im 7
most of us are a lot older than 10 baby4
I am older than ten years old. How old are you baby4?
TO cooked!
was such fun.... but i have already put that sweater i a bag to be given away.... it made me look ten pounds heavier!!
hee hee :)
do you like word games baby4
My mother would let me into a chat log at 7 years old
should go cut a piece so it cools...yes je, be careful, the stars do not like it at all, it upsets the order of the universe ;)
what did you cook owl?
my nickname 'baby4' i randomly created...
*would NOT
chat logs didn't exist when i was 7 years old
but I am thinking baby4 is older than that
i do lik word games, nrick
I randomly created my nickname, Minveryork,as well.
nope im 7!
zucchini pie... i would have cooked for the party, it's veggie but not vegan.
seven year olds are unlikely to be here.. agreeing with jmc
hmmm
Actually, they probably didn't exist when I was 7 too.
how many words have you found baby4
i'd love zucchini pie... but nothing would beat that cake!!!! salivating, just thinking of it
how many months old is my baby sister? guess
another time!
i just remembered a few words my mom found ;)
is it a quiche kind of a thing TO?
and dad said he loves it! however, they always bought it at butterflake.
Where are your parents since you're with babysitter
we always went to butterflake.. never knew about this cake though...
Is your mother a regular babbler?Maybe we know her
no je, it's a very light sort of bread thing loaded with zucchini onions and parmesan
seven year olds "randomly create"???
Ppl, have you heard about an online game called GO(Galaxy Online)?
baby4 i think you might be in the wrong chatroom
at party i missed sock-it-to-me- cake - the best!
No,I have never heard of that game. What is it baby4
Whadda ya mean?!
sounds tasty TO
howver, i did not go ask for any, i really do not need any mor cake
Go is a very boring game...
it couldn't be better than beesting
i have a 7 year old; she can't speed type or follow an online conversation (of course, she could be thicker than some, but i don't think so)
...it is a very strange game where you make resources...
very tasty and easy, however i use baking mix in it, the only questionable ingedient. can one buy an all natural mix? i use bisquick light. doren: to me it is, it's butter pecan cake
...you also build ships (you design)...
..and even send them to other star systems besides your 'Home'.
Just went to galaxy online page. It looks like a game for ten year olds. Doesn't look boring for kids baby4.
locquacious, yet i've also never heard her use words like "design" and "resources"
Hi gortmold! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Well, lemme tell ya, it's boring!
But it has chat like this...
baby we are all older women, we love this game which is a word game, and if you'd like to play this game, welcome. very few children like this; that is what I meant. there are probably better chat places for you.
even I have my doubts and I believe everyone
...and 5 different channels! But for different purposes.
hey min, thanks! how u doin?
You could chat on Galaxy On with kids your own age.
I know...
...but they don't like me!
Why not?
we're not at yellow yet, but we shall see
(I'm annoying, hee hee :)
i was that precocious...it just didn't seem to last ;)
well baby i thought no one liked me but i found out it was more that i read too much into what they said
Gee really baby4?Couldn't tell,never would've guessed
sometimes even on this chog i think someone is mad at me and if i inquire i find that i was worng
?
*wrong
Weird.
doren has mail...
I am well gortmold. Been here off and on all day cluing
i can guess
Going to go on GO (I'm not allowed so it might be hard...)
you are kindness itself min! plus you are decent to short persons of dubious chronology
owl has mail. i emailed you about the same time you emakled me
ooo secrets!
it's called feeding trolls, imho
;-)
after you've fed them, do they get fat and bloat away?
I guess I don't mind feeding trolls a little if they are somewhat benign
I was just spending my 59somethingsomethingsomethingsomething someing Science Points, which i saved up for like 3 months...
something*
your point from GO?
i cna'tbelieve you beat us in superscrabble....
??
I don't understand what you said, nrick.
but i have not scrabbled in years and years
you were spending your GO points?
Who beat you, Owl?
purely luck owl.. we got a great break at the end (and nrk is a fabulous scrabble player with major strategy)
Correction for nrick: Science Points for GO...
she IS!
May I please have a clue for ey7-40. Thanks
Guess what, I'm teaching a Scrabble after school club
leslie was no slouch, either
And yes, nrick, I was spending my SP.
compound word peach: peepers + dot
the little black floaty things you see sometimes peach
ey7/40 is seeing organ plus sp4/5 word gapeach1066
that sounds really cool min
leslie is also really funny!
Hello gapeach1066!How are you? Welcome to the grid
what ages r u teaching min?
who is leslie?
how do you teach scrabble?
neat min scrabbler's sister, j
Thank you Min .

I'm well thanks Min.
I am sooo weird...
They are third graders. Last week was the first day
of course dorens probably thinks i need lessons
fireworks
whoo hooo dorens
how did it go min?
I'm in grade 3!
I just taught the rules of the game and showed some examples of certain plays. They will play it this week.
btw doren i was flabbergasted at conversation at my family gathering...sil is a teacher and also cousin's wife. they kids are not allowed to bring in birthday cake or cupcakes. school rule. but they CAN bring in a "healty " treat like bran muffins.
Congratulations Dorens on fireworks! Hooray for you
hHhah, no j! i think I need lessons from nrk though.
wtg doren!
state law in nj owl... no sugar!
well no wonder the country is going to hell
drives the moms (and teachers sometimes) crazy. when i have pizza lunch for NJHS kids, can't have soda with it. concern for obesity and diabetes!
stop the planet i want to get off before anyone gives me a bran muffin instead of a mud cake for my birthday
kinda young to be in 3 grade -- normally 8 to 9
i think we kinda know something, j!
so how long will it be before parents are ruled unfit if they serve such food at home? slippery slope IMHO
My birthday's Dec. 29.
veggies and dip... in second grade classrooms, sliced apples, etc. for birthday parties!!!!
i gave my sons prek class bran muffins -- the teachers had to force them to say thank you
:(
lol jmc
How old will you be turning on December 29th baby4?
i never did that again but I had read this book on healthy food for kids
8.
i have a recipe for bran muffins that anyone would like... contain molasses, white raisins, cocoanut. don't ask how many calories
muffins are LOADED with fat
lol now that's a bran muffin
was it jerry seinfeld's wife's book on sneaking spinach into brownies, jmc?
Even bran muffins 72 Temple Owl?
oh they are not concerned about fat, owl, just sugar!!!!!
no but it was something similar gort
SLY 3!! OH YA!!
reckon it takes a lotta chocolate to compensate for spinach
*just hanging out*
Can I have a clue for the ax6 pls?
i am sorry i think it's stupid and ridiculous! gort i agree, a world with our pastry is not one in which i want to live :?
PPL!! YA GOTTA GET SLY 3 AND A PS2!!
amen owl
one of the kids in my son's class later was diabetic so she kept her own snakes for birthday parties
Random thought :)
no thanks baby I will stick with my laptop
wow, a savant
I was the only parent that brought her club soda and chips when I brought cupcakes for my son's birthday
doren i do want to try those choco green tea cupcakes. i loved trader joe's green tea cake mix
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
hey welki!
hI, WELKI!

my roommate at purdue took computer sci class and had stacks and stacks of punch cards!
big console with a big dial on each side
I wish I had invested back then!
Didn't you find you just couldn't get enough of that little white ball and two paddles, crossy!?? ROFL
Someone gave my step mother one of the first Apple computers about 10 years ago. It was still working; had all the accessories, PLUS they'd made custom dust covers for it too!
it was like playing with an electronic etch-o-sketch!
i saw a pic of the original group back in 79..you wouldnt trust them to park your car!! lol
just a mid class teacher. my father had a chance to purchase 1000 shares of polaroid in the 50's for $2 a share but he had to buy a car for the family

Yeah, I have an old laptop now (bought about 5 years ago) at $1,300 (512k/60G); bought new one at $550 (4G/320G)
I'm trying to forget the PM sound, crossy!!!
it's crazy, isn't it Pini?
Hubby went to bed and I am using his lap puter instead of my dinosaur
very, Nef!!
Hi Pini and mr p
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-38eScC kqAs
..and it's rather sad how one can get used to a wider or larger screen so quickly!!!
hi mamawa
Our TV died last week so we went out and bought a new one today. Talk about changing technology!
hi mawa
the screen is ok but i still cant get used to the keyboard of laptop
but hubbys laptop is outdated at this point also LOL
high definition flat screen, nef?

While we were at it, Aunt Jean bought a new TV for her bedroom, a 19" LED for $189!
Im out and glad to "see" you all : ) until we meet again be well
technology is getting more and more affordable;)
night mamawa
Our old TV was about 15 years old and a 26" screen; Aunt Jean's TV in her bedroom was probably 20 years old and a 13" screen.
almost too affordable, crossy...ppl are less likely to get out and about like the old days....
bye MaMa
Aw, Pini, I don't know. Our new TV is hooked up and on, but Aunt Jean still came over and helped me finish the grid tonight. ;-)
didn't say they stopped, nef...just seem to be less likely to be in the "leave it to beaver" world where the kids go out to play after breakfast until mom called 'em in for dinner...and they came back alive! :)
indeed, pini,we end up half the time at different corners of the house each totally involved with our own personal toy
Unfortunately, Pini, I think that world where kids could be out all day (Unattended by adults!) is long gone.
long,long gone
lol we used to go out as kids after breakfast and our parents wouldnt see us till the sun was going down and it got too dark to play outside
my kids are not allowed out of my sight
time for me to head for my pillows. interesting conversations tonight. love to all, see you tomorrow
bye dawg :)
I know, crossy. That's the world I grew up in too. My kids were outside without me, but they were always within shouting distance of us or their friends' parents. Now it wouldn't work like that at all
night lbd
is the ey7 a compound and how fishy is it?
playing street hockey...sigh..played untill it was dusk and the nets seemsed to float at us in the dim light..and the yell of car!,and we would move the nets to let traffic pass..sweat from the day at the beach drying on us as we tried for one last game..then the kid who owned the ball had to leav,so we all headed home, scratching our mosquito bites..;)
I worry when I see my neighbors' kid outside without his Mom in his own backyard!
got it
sounds idyllic, cross!
hey all! ((((mrp))))
hi stid!! (((hugs)))

hi stid
