i've actually persuade himself to go over to tasmania next february, on the ferry/ship. ta4 the carwith us and tour around for 8 days.
then the next BIG holiday, i hope to get him on board the ghan, train which goes up the centre of australia. hire a car in darwin, and drive down the west coast, fly back to melbourne from perth. that will be about 3 weeks.
i've driven the west coast from perth to broome - there's a lot of nice and a lot of nothing on that drive

exactly, I have enough trouble memorising the 2 letter lists!
I have a few study books written by the champs--lists of 2, 3, 4-letter words, front + end hooks, common rack anagrams (e.g. ratine + another letter)
And to remember the 2-letter lists from different dictionaries is tough!
I always get stuck if people start games using the US dictionary. I end up cursing lack of 2 letter words very vehemently
That is why I always chhose the UK dictionary

Once I accidentally clicked on the french dictionary and it took my sister and I 3 turns to figure it out because up til then we chose acceptable words! It was so funny!

thanks for asking JBV, yes, the difficulty was not (as I suspected) with me mis-interpreting the other person's behavior, but with the other person being overly aggressive (as admitted in a mediated meeting). So he agreed to work on his anger issues and I made it clear that I did the best I could at the time but that I would next time find an advocate to help me in the moment.

there are three teachers for (currently) just under 45 grad students. They all have their good points, and they all have their drawbacks. I would prefer more timely descriptions of expectations (they tend to say "do this" and then hand out rubrics after, and only fully desribed the paper one week before the first draft was due). I would also like to see more coordination between their expectations. There are three separate seminars, and all three are run very differently, causing a lot of disgruntlement.
However, those things reflect the way schools can run, so I suppose it's good practice for dealing with the bureaucrats once we are hired.

Well, there are now, but when I first came they not only didn't have them, but you couldn't buy choc chips if you wanted to make them. Brownies and muffins are also recent introductions here.

I had to be out so I left instructions for the kids to make fish. They took out the sole but prepared it like salmon. It was too oily and enough for 3-4 people but we are 8 and no one made the salad because they 'forgot' to buy lettuce. So dinner was a tiny morsel of fish & a baked potato.
