I'm missing the lower left N and O...
Would it've hurt "them" to include an S ?
the O will make you cry.
there's an S in there....
yes it is dc:)
...just not in a places where it's much use
There is an S it's just useless.
indeed. it ain't even svelte
I've used it once, melon
Aaaah, hidden from me. The R and the T are also placed in the wrong spots.
well that hurts, freep!
now you got me lookin' freep
i think the N is a 4
I have lower left n, want a clue?
ae6
not yet - but I'll prbaby be begginin minutes.
thx freep

oops, I mean bottom E
OK - why is ae6 a word, but the correspondin e-something 5 not?
OK bottom O, if I tell you you will cry - even if I don't it could make you cry.
you're asking for something to make sence, mel...ain't gonna happen!

take care of your foot granny; have a great day /eve all
I recently had to change my yahoo IM - lost the old one along with all my bridge buddies
*poofing*
nite dee, and thanx
why?
one day I just couldn't get into it, tried several times, then contacted Yahoo and they suggested someone might have been trying to break into it
I think they must break the connection when that happens
I should have got you to email me your new address instead of posting it here, I guess :(
did you get your bridge buddies back?
am sure we're safe here
gradually getting them, I just don't remember their full names so have to wait until I catch them in bridge
have 3 of them
2 that I play with most often
I should think so, but you never know. I still can't get over that guy who found me via the chat when I mentioned the Cathedral Girls' School in Shanghai. Luckily he was a nice guy in England.
well for the most part, people are good, just once in a while we can run into a bad egg
would someone please explain to me why it is so difficult for the male of the species , to prepare and put into the steamer, the veggies required for 3 people?
there are a few 'table wreckers' in Yahoo bridge - they pop in, bid 7nt and leave, but sometimes just continue to do it
aaarrrggghhhhh!!!
I mean, he wasn't a babbler -- I think that excerpt from the chat got posted in Google.
ah granny, not fair
how annoying -- troll-like stupid behaviour
still silently screaming!!!!
yes, very
(I mean the table-wreckers, not the guys who can't put veggies in the steamer)
lol, thanx jilli, i needed to have a laugh...maybe i'm expecting too much of him?
lol, I wrote to yahoo about them once but they say they can't do anything about it
no, granny, you are not!
what, putting vegies in the steamer?
no indeed, granny!
not expecting too much!
you are not expecting too much of them to expect them to be able to prepare a supper
* shaking head* i mean, who is the patient here, for goodness sake!!!!
who is the spoilt kid?
exactly granny, and shouldn't you be off that foot
* sigh * oh, well, i'll get over it. apparently, flosey, if i'm breathing and my eyes are open, i should be the one preparing dinner.
Rot, granny!
ah yes, once we make the mistake of standing!! "AHA,. she's well"
enough, i think, i'll stop the winging. such is life ( to quote our favourite rascal, ned kelly)
I was so lucky my hubby liked cooking and took it over
hmmm, maybe i'll retire to the bedroom
they'll eventually get hungry granny
yes, pull a faint or something
hubby here is a great cook too jilli - as well as both sons
jilli, so did my dad, god bless him! when he was alive, my mother barely had to lift a finger!
then they'd make themselves something and forget about granny
lol, probably a sandwich
oh, i like your style, you two! * huge grin *
stop it! you are beginning to corrupt me!
hehe
in later years, my father made the Christmas dinner
that was when there would be 17 of us
well, my dear dad was helpless -- probably couldn't change a light bulb.
can i come and live with you? please? huh, please?
wow, flosey!
you'd love our island granny
i know, flosey. one day! i have been promised....and that's one good thing ( among many ) about himself. otherwise i wouldn't have married him.
having trouble with ac5, any clues?
please
come to think, flosey, my dad used to cook chrissy dinner for 17 of us ,too.
hi and tough nbt
I haven't got either of the ac words
ac + not out + **e you being served?
hi and wtg and I agree, josh
ac + not out + first person singular

yw, jilli and flosey.

thx -- I should have remembered that one
we're on a roll, here. next ?
need both in5s
I still have 32 to go and musn't ask forall of them!
in + charged atom
just got the last one
one is PT, flosey
other is layered veggie with diff 1st vowel
past tense of staying in hotels
ty granny, and josh
what kind of a word is that? (the in5/12)
that veggie gets a bit of a workout in this grid - 3 of them
ty flosey -- didn't have the 3rd
yw
thought you were going to bed, flosey?
lol, really must, am so tired!
I have 21 left now and will leave them for tomorrow. Bedtime for me too.
16 to go, will pick them up in the morning, goodnight all
has been fun
Night all and thanks for all the help! *poof*
night sleepyheads
nite flosey and jilli, hope you both have a lovely rest
josh. need any help?
i'll manage - thanks anyways granny
ok, will say good-night , too. getting late here. see you at the flip
nightnight
* poof *
i wonder why ae6 is taken, but the equivalent e5 is not
hello!
Good morning ... and do we have enough 'n' tiles today?
Ndeed we do!
I read the chat and someone wrote about a layered veggie, but I have no idea what that clue meant. Must have an n or two in it somewhere, I should think.
round, white veggie that you can cut into rings and fry...
Oh, of course, duh! ty
The s appears to be in a worthless location ... probably why it is a shortish grid.
kind of elegant that it is sort of a circle in the grid, too (the veggie)
very tough to get at that S!
I was just thinking the same thing about the veggie.
The goose is here, no surprise there.
We're going to have a blizzard today. I was hoping for a longer grid to prevent cabin fever.
is it a consolation that this short grid will take a long time to do?
must go. bb later. good luck, Merk, and enjoy the falling snow.
see you later fuquay
lots of Italian sounding words today
I have got to start sleeping in longer. This is such a 'dead' time of day. People are either wandering in and out or must be lurking.
dead? i beg your pardon! LOL
It has been so quiet here. I've almost decided to go back to bed. It's addictive here, but it sure is more fun with warm bodies keeping me company.
we do seem to have some big gaps in the chog lately . . .
I know part of it is time of day. The Asians and Aussies have gone to bed and the Europeans must be at work or eating. North and South Americans are hardly awake yet.
exceptions being us insomniacs around the globe! LOL
That would be us.
We have a huge blizzard coming in and I was hoping to spend most of my day here ... now I'll have to address Christmas cards instead.
wow . . . be safe, merk
I'm venturing out for breakfast with girlfriends before the snow worsens. The wind is not coming until later or I would have canceled. But I might be on the treadmill today instead of going around the neighborhood. It was so cold yesterday, but I did my walk because there was no snow or wind.
my daughter's in Ann Arbor and I see that the low on Thursday's forecast is 9! Brrrr
MI had a ton of snow over the weekend, but I don't know if it made it all the way to Ann Arbor. My relatives in Holland and Grand Rapids got 10-15 inches.
I grew up in Michigan and I don't know how anyone can live there in winter. I think it should be composed of summer resorts and then shut down.
oohhh, you have relatives in Holland . . . my mom visited friends in Holland years ago at tulip festival time -- beautiful!
I remember walking to school in knee deep snow uphill both ways ... as we used to say.
good morning everyone
-8 °F (-22 °C)
she graduates in April so we'll see where she ends up : -)
hey, eva :-)
Yes, Michigan is the best from spring thru fall. Their colors are as good as New Englands.
morning BR! brrrrrrrrrrrr
Oh, BR, it is cold by you, brrrrr!
brrr indeed. I also resorted to the treadmill yesterday, although it's not that bad yet. But is seems that year by year I get less intrepid about walking outside when it is nasty.
BR, I just clicked on your icon to find out where it is -14. Yikes! But then I happened upon your wonderful writing on Learning Styles. I am taking that to China with me later this month. TY!!!
There is little wind -- a major plus
yw
We have bitter cold now, snow starts shortly, and the wind arrives later. then we'll be a full-blown blizzard.
br-are you really in Antarctica?!!!!
I am in my den
and where is your den? (I know-in your house)
Alongside the penquins ... so that's how they really survive. They are in dens.
Fargo, North Dakota
ah-so it just feels like anatarctica. It's always reassuring to speak with people who come from colder places. Makes me feels less insane for living in Vermont during the winter
Oh, I heard on the weather last night that you already had the cold. We had a low of about 10 here during the night, but the temp is supposed to be dropping all day long. It sounds like the snow will miss you though. Not so where I live in SD.
we're expecting our first strom starting tonight, but only 3-5 inches, so a baby.
That's a warmup for what's yet to come.
I hope so. Winters without snow are eery.
we had a warmer than average November but the prognosticators say December will be abnormally cold
yesterday's puzzle was such a friendly one This one seems very persnickety.
Same here. October was not so nice, but November could have lasted longer in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, I can't make the weather. I put on Christmas carols, turned on the tree, and am hibernating today.
Hey, I finally used the s and I am over half done.
38 to go and taking to break to grab coffee and take the dogs out to pee . . . BBL
hmmmm-haven't use that s yet
hi there..any hint on the s?
The only s I've found was a pl on the co 5, 12. I missed it on my first go round partly because I wasn't expecting to use it at all.
thanks for that
hmm..might take a little while for me to figure that out. thanks.
hmm..might take a little while for me to figure that out. thanks.
For some words, it is like an obstacle course or maze, twisting around all of the n tiles to get them.
Good morning to all from snowy western NY state.
Hey, Scrabbler. My hubby is in western NY this morning ... Fredonia.
good morning scrabbler, from slightly snowy central Vermont
Hey Babblers, back for a second helping of "grid with teeth"
And hour from here. What is he doing?
is the ci7 something "normal" or should I give up and ask for a clue?
Hi Eva + Aussie
working
ci**ma+ spanish cheer
I have no idea what the heck it is, but its not normal !
TY, Auusie

We've had it before, but is abnormal. It builds off the ci 6
yw...
Haaaaa !! I had the 7, but not the 6.... Thanks Merk !
TY, Merk
just got the two co7's. They. at least, were regular
Hmmm, co7's.... **looking**
as was the le7
I have the le7
Yes, they were easy. If you stay with the co words you will finally get to use the only s I've found yet.
There could be another, but I only have 24 left and just found that one.
I have found a bunch of 4's, LOL
I got 43 left.
85 to go
lol Scrabs, slow and steady.....
Just waking up--slept poorly, hit the snooze button 3 times, aaaargh
oooh my Scrabs.... I been up since 6am here (thats 6 and a 1/4 hours)
gm people
Hey Espirit !
Hi Jean!
how's your cousin aussie?
Have to get ready for my day. Definitely bbl with 20 left.
hi scrabs, how's the new job?
If you're gone when I return, have a good day.
Not too bad Espirit. She has come home, but is still a bit wobbly. Her hands keep tingling, and her tongue has swelled several times.
do they say it will all resolve?
where did she encounter this little beast btw?
they do Espirit.... It just takes a bit of time I guess :)
She lives in Aus.... It was in her pyjamas !
New job is total contrast to old---nice, supportive, laid back co-workers with stable egos and no desire to be workaholics but with a desire for excellence.
sounds like heaven doc!
Scrabs, that sounds like a great job !
I am working less intensely and earning more--no longer overworked and underpaid, abused, bullied, criticized...
WOO !! Thats a step in the right direction Scrabs !!
**doing happy dance for Scrabs**
that is wonderful
It is still challenging to deal with sick kids and the occasional difficult parent, but overall SO much less stressful!
I understand Scrabs. Are the parents difficult by choice ?? Or is it the worry factor ?
very happy for you
my sister finally escaped from a job where she was working for The supreme Allied Commander of the World's A-holes after 20 years
and is now in a very good place where she is appreciated and rewarded and treated like a human
Some are anxious and need education + reassurance. Others are angry, hostile and offensive--they want what they want: test, antibiotic..
It's a good thing Espirit....
yes I agree
It sounds like her boss and my old boss went to the same training academy for a$$holes
Good for her! Such liberation to escape from a bully!
I have bosses the same.... Did they come out of the same factory ??
I think so. I also had that experience with a couple of orthopedic surgeons (brothers)
aussie, I say they were born out of the wrong hole
Look on their backside, it is stamped "made in A-Hole"
Haha, Jean
LOL
;-p
Hi Zooz
Afternoon Zooz !
Hello, all, sorry had been lurking all day, 8 left to find.
And at 36/65 I must shower and leave for work--driving through/on snow today!
39 here....
snowing here too
Be Safe Scrabs...... Hugs xoxox
take care Scrabs
**banging head** still can't see the co7/36's
co + letter + que at the unemployment office
thanks Zooz !
yw :-)
I got the other one !
and fireworks for me....tricky grid today for me.
YAY Zoo !!!
It has teeth, this grid !
Sharp one Aussie lol
don't...want...to...wake...up...
Hey Norma ! Long time no see !
hello, Norma
**pokes Hurshy to wake her up**
LOL, Hurshy..WAKIE WAKIE :-)
but i was having such a lovely dream...
I think we are usually on at different times Aussie nice to see you
Hi zoozz
Share Hursh !
i was HAPPY, in the dream. this is an unusual thing for me.
Good sign Hursh !
i was marrying logan from the gilmore girls... mmmm
Woah Mamma !
lol
and i was standing up to his family's snobby friends
i'm not normally much of a stander-upper.
Sign of things to come Hursh maybe ?
yeah. an extremely hot guy who i have never met is going to sweep me off my feet, treat me like a queen, despite the fact that i am rather plain, and very odd.
and married.
well, 33 left, must go get ready to fetch my Mom.... See you all later..... **poof**
I meant the standing up for oneself Hursh :)
**real poof**
eh, without the hot guy, the standing up for oneself isn't that thrilling.
i don't like dreams unless they are just weird and emotionally neutral. if they are bad then you wake up all freaked, and if they are good then you wake up and go, nooooo, not my REAL life...
Logan from Gilmore Girls is probably about 35 now, LOL.
Not that he still may not be hot.
Though Luke was more my type.
he's 32. as am i.
OK so I was close
gotta love imdb. :)
My daughter and I have been watching it in reruns... I had watched the first 2 seasons religiously, but then stopped watching it for some reason. She is 13 so she likes it.
i love it. mainly i love the whole quirky small town thing with people you would never ever find in real life...
hmmm.... come to my small town, LOL. I swear we should rename it Stars Hollow.
Sometimes when I go to town council meetings or when I was on the Board of Ed, I would think that Lorelei would be right at home here.
do you have a kirk? is there camaraderie?
I even joke around with our church pastor, call her "the Vicar of Dibley", LOL.
Everyone has a Kirk! And, yes, there is camaraderie, as well as dissent.
cool
Yeah. It is.
I was watching the one the other night where they did the living art... and I was thinking... Oh, no! Hope our mayor is not a fan of Gilmore Girls, LOL! That would be right up his alley.
the living art was pretty darn awesome
Yes it was.
OK... I officialy hate this grid.
i'm going to be so useless today.
why is that hurshy?
up too late watching monday night football, plus the wishing i were rory gilmore feeling...
OK... American football?
yes, i'm only a wannabe brit.
OK... do you live there?
and a wannabe gilmore. basically, unlike bo bice, i want to be anything other than me.
... and Fireworks!
no, i live in new england, not real england.
good for you merk
LOL hurshy! My daughter wants to go to school in London... so she says now at 13... we shall see.
ty ... and my daughter-in-law spent two weeks in the London area this summer and she came home saying it was too expensive to be a real Brit.
Yes. I tell my kid to save her pennies.
Off to breakfast before the blizzard hits. See you in the morning.
And I remind her that we fought a war to get away from them, LOL.
Bye Merk
it is def expensive on an american salary... the pound is worth so much more. but if you actually live there, you get paid in pounds what you would get paid in dollars in the US
Tell to study and get a fellowship, then she could afford to go there for at least four years.
that was a really stupid war. i'm a loyalist.
tata
true
Will do, Merk.
Ah, Hursh... we could argue this for hours, I am sure.
we could? part of the reason i list my political identity as loyalist is because it's so long ago that i figure i am immune from political bickering.
well, I have a degree in History, specialized in American legal history from colonial to the American System....
good afternoon all.
Hello Sprite.
sigh. i *would* run into the one person who cares if i'm a loyalist.
Oh, I don't care (not in a bad way, anyway)... but I could probably give you a run for your money! But I have entirely too much to do today, LOL.
My husband jokes that I have forgotten more about the American REvolution than most people ever learned, LOL.
well, that's cool.
Yes. Just not very useful or marketable, LOL.
ah, preach it, sister
My brother-in-law and I get into some great conversations, but that's about it.
And I have a kid who could absolutely care less about history/social studies... drives me insane! I tell her she is genetically predisposed to care!
that may be why she doesn't
Oh, yeah. No kidding!
she just encourages me to go on Jeopardy and win a lot of money, LOL.
A good liberal arts education is very useful on Jeopardy.
true
OMG... she had a social studies teacher in 7th grade that I LITERALLY wanted to beat with a stick... he had absolutely no knowledge of the subject... if it wasn't so sad/insane it would have been funny.
yeah, the teacher situation isn't what it could be...
Good and bad in everything, right?
In my experience I have found that most are good.
well, i'm late for work, and that's bad... ttfn!!!
And, really, elementary and middle school teachers deserve medals... these kids just get worse and worse...
Bye Hursh!
bye hursh
when my daughter was around 9 years old, her teacher asked to meet with me -- i thought maybe there was a discipline problem but nooo -- she had let Jennifer work ahead in one of the textbooks they were using and she was so far ahead of the rest of the class, the teacher wanted to know if I thought it would be a good idea to have her work on "crafts" while the others caught up AAAGGGHHH! FYI my daughter is now finishing up her second master's degree, no thanks to that idiot teacher
intelligence can be frightening to some
and yes, she also had some GOOD teachers :-)
mornin babblers!
hi EvaN
Hi eva
beautiful orchid, sprite :-)
fireflies. Easy peasy today. Thanks Une :)
I have learned to roll with the punches with teachers.
yay, sprite!!
I am off, have fun all
later, sprite!
wow sprite... ia have been at this for way longer than you and have 34 left. finding it a tad snarky
same here, mom -- 35 to go :-)
taking a break . . . BBL *poof*
Good morning everyone! Just woke up to inches of snow and falling. Brrrrrrrrr
Yes... very cold here, as well.... where are you? I am in NJ.... no snow in the forecast that I know of... just cold.
hello everyone
hello Annie
Hi mom
Hi Annie
hi hego
the Jerseyites are here
How does everyone find this grid?
I am done to 6 but it was a struggle for me
Kansas, just about an hour west of Kansas City.
LOL Annie
Snarky grid
I think it's a tough one.
snarky is the word for this one
Good word.
does anyone have a clue for ra6/21?
Not to r yet annie
I am glad to hear the consensus of snarky - I am not finding this grid easy-going.
Whew. I am done.
That ra6 I was looking for was a big fish. It's past tense of the word before it.
can anyone clue the co 5/14?
Hey, 8 minutes ago you said it was Snarky Annie! Well - Congrats!!!!
past tense of an ice cream co 4/5
Good work, Annie!

That's 1c4,5 Mitch
Duh! Thank you so much, annie
The easy ones always kill me too, Annie.
It's not just easy, we are always using that word here in the chog!
finally fireworks...
Yup
Sometimes those 4 letter words can be killers..esp. the ones beginning with vowels
Well, I did say I hate I's!
YAY for mom2han8!!!!!!
I hate vowel words!!
Yay Mom!
it took me forever to get the italian goodbye... and my best friend uses it as her sign off all the time, LOL.
Yay Mom, I am the only footdragger around here, with 51 left
anyone need anything before I go.
I have been here on and off for 3 hours...
That's almost a babblet, Mom
Had to get up to straighten my daughter's hair...
almost hego
OK, how about the lone I on the left?
Mom, I need lo5,12 pls
Oh, Mom, how old is she?
mich, my fave babblet in4 the needlenose dolphin
opposite of out + charged particle
I think that's the lone i
add a consonant to the lo 4/5... it is a shade of green
tx Mom
More fish for me. ty

Bye Mom!
anyone want a clue before I leave?
by mom
Have a great day everyone, bye dear babblers
I'm good , Annie, thanks.
Bye Annie
Well, I spent 5 mins googling Dolphins & I didn't find that one.
Mitch, this one is in here all the time. It's in and 2 vowels.
ac 5?
Try to remember it. You WILL see it again.
Didn't get that one yet Bichon.
I may just have that tattooed on me!
I got the ac 5, anyone need a clue

This grid certainly has its share of obscure words

nm
Bye all, I've got fireworks. Going to take a nap under warm blankets while the snow whirls around outside.
Bye all, I've got fireworks. Going to take a nap under warm blankets while the snow whirls around outside.
rump, did you get the na6?
rub it in, why don't you :o)
Sorry, I didn't mean to hit it twice. Yes, the na6/18 rhymes with one of the military forces, not the army.
ty rump

hello everyone.
I am going to take just a few minutes while I wait for Tom to come home -- our well died, and in this cold if it doesn't get working we could have a big mess on our hands later.
hi stid
how hard is the grid today?
hi stid, not too bad, was late starting last night but finished up this morning
hey flosey!
brb
nair
oops. Sorry.
nair isn't in the dictionary
go ch go!
so no pb for ch
anyone want to help me get the lower O and the bottom row E for NBT? *pleading mama look*
root veggie for lower o
*eating smelly fish* thanks ch
and finally saw the lower E!
NBT!!! *relieved mama look* so that's one thing today that went right.
care to share? :D
nm, just found it
I wonder if I should stay home so that I don't risk a big mess?
GO CH!
I can't go too far ... have a dental appointment this morning. Can only babble for a couple more minutes.
hope it's just a cleaning? I have a regular tooth checkup a week from Friday.
It's my first since moving here, so annual checkup, xrays, cleaning --- the works :)
I hate going to the dentist... I hate it I hate it. The one I had for 25 years was wonderful, but since he got sick and died I haven't found one I actually like.
to be honest, the one I have now I like, but I am not overly fond of his staff. I don'
I don't like being treated like an imbecile by people younger than me with less education!!!!
hello all
time to start my day here, need a haircut - me too Stid, avoid dentists like the plague
Ahhh, I relate to that, dear stid.
hey pinny
ne
have a lovely day flosey -- love to mr flo as usual
oop - i mean, hey
I only have 25 words! How do you guys do this??
p.s. if any of you are in london, my dad's an AMAZING dentist
hi pinny. Time for me to hit the shower too, and get ready. Enjoy the grid, the sunshine, and the company, all ! BBl
how are things across the pond?
see you later ch, hope the visit goes well!
lol Stid, had a similar experience - when I called for appt. she told me how long it had been since my last visit - then when I arrived, she announced to the whole waiting room the date of my last visit
it is cold and dark
hi all
oh gee, flosey! so much for patient confidentiality!
hey boo!
mice
needless to say, I haven't been back
oops
really cold here too pinny -- but our day is just starting on the west coast of North America. Bright sun, no clouds.
love your icon Boo
ooh - where are you exactly?
ty Flosey
yes stid, another gorgeously sunny day
flosey is in British Columbia, just a few hours north of ch and me.
ch and I are in Washington state
i've never made it over to BC, but always wanted to get to vancouver
my parentals are off to CA tomorrow
vancouver is a wonderful city. really really big...
CA -- california?
yup - san diego
Pinny, if you get to Vancouver, you must take the ferry over the Salt Spring Island to visit Jillibus and there are several others nearby
it's warmer in california there for sure!
i'll let you know if i ever make it over, but if i don't find a job soon, i won't be going anywhere :(
although i am going to paris on friday, but just for the afternoon
well, first things first Pinny, and good luck with the job search
I understand that pinny
*trying to imagine paris "just for the afternoon" and failing miserably* wow
actually, I can't even imagine paris! LOL
just going to BC or Los Angeles is a major trip for me
Stid, Sandy, hubby and William are in Germany - was IM with her last night and again this morning
it's like toronto with a bad attitude
so -- I need to try to figure out where Tom is and what I should do about the well -- I supposedly have class starting in an hour and a half...
germany? whatever for??? my great-aunt and her children live near munchen
Good luck with your water supply stid
hubby has business so he wanted to show Sandy around - she's never been to Europe
thx flosey. that's nice for sandy! I hope they are having a grand time
but this time of year.... brrrrr! LOL
she said it's much like Vancouver weather
for me, IF I ever go to Europe, it has to be when the gardens are accessible! otherwise, I can be a popsicle here just as easily
springtime is best
well, that's not so bad then, at least it's still in the comfort zone, right?
most of europe still grinds to a halt if it gets too hot, too cold or too wet
hiya. and my phantoms so far: odeon, denote, convene
lol stid, there wasn't a choice. hubby had to be there on business
Mother says to go any time but August when all the people run away for their own vacations
hey gwen.
*grin* yes, I understand about "business" (but I don't have to like it!)
Europe wouldn't like it here most years then, it's usually quite damp
s'up stid!
I tried denote several times too.
also novice
should be words: yici, mici, toci, macii, miici, yaiiic
must get ready to face the day, friend stopping by and don't know when! Be back tonight at flip
so, down to 35 and want to check my mail before I leave for school. Tom will come home and figure out about the well as soon as he can.
nice selection, gwen.
good luck with the grid, all! have sparkling days! *poof*
english is sorely lacking in words with three is all in a row
if i can have a vocation, how come i can vocat?
Hi all, has anyone seen Paranormal Activity? If so, is it worth going?
can't help ya with that question, sorry!
my advice: go see it but expect NOTHING. then if it's even half a star above crap, you'll enjoy it.
I SAW PARANORMAL ACTIVITY!!!!
Was it any good?
and as someone who has made it my life's mission to see every horror film available (and hunt down those that have been banned), i can honestly say it's in my all time top 3
scared the living sh4/5 out of me
impressive! now if i see it, it will behard not to expect a masterpiece 8-)
since seeing it, i've dubbed one of the rooms in my house the 'paranormal activity' room and run past it every night because i'm so scared of what might lurk within
Strange, because most people ob IMDB website are saying that it is not even worth going to see.
i would not rely too much on imdb. it's a self selected sample.
people don't like to admit that they're scared. i went to a preview showing and everyone in the cinema was laughing and talking and stuff, but that was just to diffuse the tension (because when the scary stuff happened, they all screamed like little girls)
Well, thanks Pinny, it's better to get a first hand opinion.
i loved it, but i love a good horror
(don't hate me if you don't like it)
Good evening all........
I won't!
this grid is scarier than most horror films! i'm down to the co 5/12, if one of you has a clue?
sweet - report back when you've watched it and let me know what you think
i like horror movies, too. guess i gotta see this one now 8-)
BDC - what did you think of 'blair witch'?
co5, steers a boat. (or rips someone off, spelled wrong)
who me?
co5 is plural for 4/5 above
Jayk co 5/12 is a plural
astonishing! thanks!!! now i can work
wtg jayk !!! ~~~ !!!
Congrats Jayk!
pinny, were you asking me about blair witch? because 1) i liked the uniqueness of the point of view, but 2) the movie gave me motion sickness and i felt like i was going to puke about halfway through as spend about half an hour in the restroom. can't take all that hald-held stuff (don't like certain tv shows for same reason)
ok - so this is handheld, but def not as jerky. if you thought blair witch was scary, this certainly beats it
but i realise you weren't originally asking about the film - it's just you said you liked horror
um, no, i did not say i thought blair witch was scary. few mmovies are really scary to me, as a large part of my brain is aware that i'm safe in a movie theater. lol
you want really scary, try Mulholland Drive
no - i mean, IF you thought it was scary (if that kind of film scares you) this would too
i didn't like mulholland drive
yup, i get yas
i have a mulholland drive theory that makes sense. can't say it's what the filmmaker had in mind, tho, cuz he doesn't talk
david lynch?
yep, david lynch. a fricking genius, IMO
i love david lynch!
totally agree
and the cohen brothers
twin peaks still freaks me out after 20 years
oh, hell, no, not the cohen brothers. ick
reminds me of the restaurant (twin peaks)
love twin peaks. need to get the whole series on dvd
i hunted it down
you can't buy the second series on dvd in the uk
come on book doc - love the big lebowski
pinny, they'll release it sooner or later. did the same in US. season 1 was released by itself first
sciencegeek, ugh! and i'm a jeff brodges fan even
it's been like that for a decade - i got a copy in australia though
bridge fan too
okay gwen i cannot make everyone happy
eraserhead was a long time coming out on dvd. now it's rather plentiful
oh gosh had forgotten eraserhead - saw in high school totally weird. still have trouble looking at baked chickens
Any body have ac6, 21 pls.
we're having chicken tonight! little damn things.
i can see the legs moving
one of my fave scenes. totally sick. 8-)
dont have the ac yet hego
tc science

ty Buffgirl
ty buff
YW!
ty
that word is used a lot
finnaly found all the Vs
missing 3 v's...pesky
well, 22 left here, gonna eat now. BBL
Sigh! Now for the ae's. Only 11 left but I'll bet they're doosies.
i can;t believe all the twisty turny's in this grid.
It is a bit different, isn't it? I wonder when we will get a huge monster grid again?
I never get time to finish those.
urgh - finished. horrible grid
It's so much fun to keep finding words, but then I hit the wall half way through the huge ones.
any requests before i depart?
Good work Pinny and you're right.
Tx, I'll keep struggling along.
ok - ci4/5 for now
ci4/5 to you too. lol
hints for the far-left i word?
Eva that's the dolphin. in and 2 vowels
Do you have the no6,27?
i have the dolphin. comes from the other i, not the left one
dont have the NO6, though
Tx, let me lok for the i
far left in: a hotel in a country setting - past tense
Oh good, I had no idea which it was.
no 6/27: no + blood runs thru your **i*s + vowel (I think it's a group of prayers)
i have that too. not from the left i
buffgirl, do you have no6?
no 6 is a Catholic religious evnt, on the ninth day I think]\
It's the one like the teary veggie eva
another not from the left i :)
tx Inge
i got it. io5 :)
Sorry, I have tham all but forgot which it was.
loooked it uip. no 6 is a rite consisting of nine dasy of prayer
I'll try again on the left i - hard to konw where they all come from! in + write in your d**ry
Hmmm...
This grid can bite me
She got it buff
LOL, Gadget!
I'm a lousy Catholic. Can't find it.
ugh. 33 words and i'm stuck
gonna list way early today
you'll need it!
no6 uses the high-point tile
Hmmm...
Yikes! I can't believe I couln't get it. ty Eva
Just need the to5, 12 Pls.
ra
Hi Dorens!
Hego: to5,12 is past tense of another to4,4
don't understand how that happens. I thought i put that in the babble expert box, sorry. and hi
tx Cassi
welcome :-D
No, sorry, I meant the first to5,12.
my bad, I didn't check to see if there was more than one.
that is the only one I have as of yet
tx anyway Cassi.
np
o
do
Somethings wrong with Dorens.
to5.12 same as the co5.14 apartment
Ty, ty Lyn. another one I should have known, but I was going the wrong way.
Finally, done with this stupid grid!
congrats Hego
m
nn
Dorens, what's wrong?
lo, i have no idea! i obviously don't know how to use this clever babble expert.. i'm running along entering words right and left, and then every so often a couple ofletters show up in chat. I will TRY to be more careful. sorry'
That's no problem, Sweety.
morning all...
Welcome to Expert, Dorens! :)
Hi Pini
hi Pini
And bye, got a nail appt. Good day All!
Anyone else find it out the Lennon can be spelled in the grid today?
*should be "odd"
creepy
lo
Dorens...you need to type a little slower ;)
now there was no reason for that at all (that I can think of)
If you enter too quickly, you don't give it time to "register"
ok, that makes sense on some level.... but that lo didn't cause i was entering n words, not l. but i will try to slow down. this must be very annoying
It's not so bad once you get used to it, Dorens....I love using it!
i have a ridiculously busy evening, so am trying to do this quickly at school, where i can access expert... it is fun
well, hop to it, woman!
is this a grid where I should be listing?
hopping on down to a fourth grade lesson to teach them about respect... don't think you need to list, i was only doing it cause of rush..... happy babbles
have a good lesson, dorens!!!
I have 31 left and not listed yet. Waiting for the big blizzard to hit, hoping it doesn't!
oh my, rbud...hope it doesn' hit either!
I'm down to 44 remaining...
looks like we're on the very edge of the major action, could go either way. But I'm all stocked up just in case! :)
good to hear you're a great scout!!!
big crowd in town at the stores, acting like the ice age is coming, lol
I'd rather be prepared all the time than have to rush at the last minute and hope I can get what I need!
I hear that, I feel the same. But it's been a few days since I went in, so needed some basics. Got a teenager who lives on milk, peanut butter, and hotdogs (yuck!) Can't keep up with him.
* giggle *
he can disappear a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk in a matter of hours.
sounds like my dau's when they were home ;)
he cooks stuff at 3 AM some nights, never know what's going to be gone when I get up.
but don't forget the heel of the bread loaf and ounce of milk left in the jug for whoever comes behind them!
lol, so true!
...and the "Why didn't you throw it away?" Answer: "Because it wasn't finished!!!"
yet he'll toss out a peanut butter jar with enough in it for a couple of sandwiches, too much trouble to get it out of there. :P

How's the grid? Not that I have time to do it...
I did fine up to about 1/2..and have been sludging slowly since
Ahh...I just wanted to stop by on my Black Friday deal laptop...it's slick!
congrats on the find, jellen!!!
PC or MAC?
Thank you...Tim deserves the credit....PC...
* big grin *
well done, Tim
It's an HP Pavilion with more memory than my desktop!
I'm on an HP, tooo....I given up on my laptop! :)
er....desktop, that is!
early Christmas present, Jellen?
I'm thinking of retiring one of our desktops...we have two...and now two laptops...
Yes, rbud! To myself! hehehe
I have a desktop and 2 laptops (1 of which is dedicated to genealogy research)
*thinking back to college days when we looked on our roommate's Atari with awe*
* remembering PONG *
lol, Jellen, I was thrilled to get a Commodore 64 second hand from my brother back in the day
thought it was the height of high tech at the time
Exactly! I was actually scared of the things...now can't live without them...
Well, I've put off cleaning long enough...just hate to put down my new toy!
I survived my first Christmas schmooz fest.
I was taking a college computer programming class, had to type up stacks of keypunched cards and take them in to find out if my program worked!
Yay for Judi!
At least I got a free lunch out of it. Good afternoon, all!
office party?
I took keypunch as an elective my senior year in high school...never saw another keypunch machine when the class was finished!
I took a Basic class, with a line editor (think that's what it was called)
Police Chief's luncheon. Our police chief invited us lowly secretaries. Lots of guys in uniform and politicians. Saw Beau Biden (VP Joe's son). He's the AG for Delaware.
ac clues?
...and you didn't invite me, judi? Hrmph!
AG?
Honestly, Pini - by the time everyone got done speaking, my ass had fallen asleep.
Attorney General.
ac 6/21: ac + opposite of out + deck of c**ds
ty Judi I like to know these things x
ac 5/12: ac + l**guin*
Tata all...guilt and shame take over...have an old friend stopping by the house tomorrow and the house is a disaster zone!
bye jellen
Happy Babbling!!!!
bye, Jellen!
ty
in that case, judi...glad I missed the butt numbing experience! LOL
Eh, free lunch beats work any day.
good point
I'm going to stop in a little bit because I feel like zoning out
iI have 32 words left but not much motivation
me, too, Kappy....
down to 29 here...
I think I'm going to take a short nap...
oooh, a nap counds good to me, too. down to 15, can hit the list later.
tootles (back later)
*sounds
Tootles, Pini.
there's a ci4 that has me boggled
In fact all the ci's except the movie one
only have a Spanish word
Idont have the movie one
sorry italian for bye
It's the spanish word Do you have the others?
ci+2 vowels
that is the only one I have
I've been typing in circles- I must have missed it
Oh, yeah
theres still another one
ci 4/5: another name for theater ****ma
ty
ci 4/5: c + io 5/12 ***ic
that's the spanish movie. Isn't there a third ci4?
I need the 6,7,4
do i read that correctly as indicating that there is a ci6 and a ci7?
and there's no one here... sad trend lately...
Yes, hurshy. ci 6/21 = ci 4/5 + spanish cheer **e; ci 7/32 = ci 6/21 + vowel
Evening/afternoon/morning all as appropriatge. Just wanted to say Hi and hello for a few mins.
*delurks*
okay was offline - need a clue for the first to 5/12 please
Hey hursh and dan2 et al.
it's not working :(
to5/12 lone ranger sidekick soundalike
to 5/12: rhymes with an apartment that you purchase c****
oh THAT ci4/5.

still mucking with that ci clue
what's the bottom E?
yay hursh, cann't clue as haven't stated the grid.
sorry, hurshy - should have been more specific!
no probs buff
en5/16 = en + when you talk you use your ***ce (also vo5/18)
poll: who is bothered by the phrase "no problem" as a response to thanks?
sadly, that one comes from the upper E.
Guess I am invisible so will poof and save my time until I am back on broadband.
you're not invisible!!!
i said heya!!!
hurshy: What's wrong with "no problem"?
you did - heck sorry hursh it didnn't come up :)
nothing, as far as i knew until a few weeks ago, then complaints about it began popping up all over the web in comments on articles and stuff
Hugs then and take care as I really do have to go for now.
sorry - I'm never sure where they come from! Try this one: eo 6/18: eo + seven eight **ne + an article
hmm that is kinda weird. we use it a lot at my work.
my guess is that it is largely generational... ?
sadly, that is also upper E
e + beef cut, hurshy
Ok, I give! I have ea 4/4, el 5/10, en 4/4, en 5/16, eo 6/18 - which one are you missing? :o)
no problem is closer to what the French say "ne rien"
it always comes from the FIRST one it CAN come from, left to right and top to bottom. if you knew that and you just have trouble seeing, then, sorry for the unnecessary info.
thank you dan2bit and buffgirl!
I didn't know that, hurshy - thanks!!
i took "hurshy's guide to boxes" out of my profile after angelsong added it to her babble page...
I have to go vote and pick up my kid from school. 24 left- but I don't know if I can go through this again
voting in december?
canada?
this grid has too many of the same letters-
Special election for massachusetts senator, rip teddy
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
who are the choices?
if you have time to tell
Three male liberal dems, one female liberal dem. I am not a repub. Have been undecided.
We lost a great senator
a criminal, but a great senator...
do they have any notable features other than their gender? say... on policy?
or are they all pretty similar
Basically similar.
Eeny meeny minie mo
that's always hard.
well, i'm done, and off to sudoku

btw: could someone please take this lingering cough away? As bad as it sounds, I'd really like to get back to work...
so by the time the "warm" weather comes in may, lots of us are climbing walls, wearing fuzzy slippers and singing the romper room song in our outside voices
Hey Pini- my employer just said that all southern california employees must have H1N1 vaccine by Feb 1. even if we are not medical type employees
'course we sometimes have snow in july and august so who am i kidding? LOL

almost never watched that -- I was a dingbat fan
some ask for transit fares, some ask for warm coats ... but it blew me away when i read that some guy wants a pair of size 10.5 Nike Air sneakers!
...now, there's a man who knows what he wants!
Archie & Edith's daughter and son-in law "Meathead" had a baby named Joey Stivic...he comes very complete
i mean, not for nothing, but i wouldn't spend that much on a pair of sneakers for myself!
if asked what he wants why shouldn't he be specific
jmc Archie called Edith a dingbat!
maybe he'll get an "off" brand instead...
clues for the n at the top left?

my office is only 4 people
okay, so how about a pair of good quality size 10.5 sneakers and leave the designer tag off until buddy gets a job and can pay for them himself? you could buy 5 pairs of good sneakers for the price of the ones he wants .... this is coming out all wrong. you'd have to have read his personal description to appreciate the satire
that makes a bit more sense than seeing a pair of Nike Air on a "wish list"
My office is two people...
no4/4 = pinot no**

School board? Best wishes on your endeavor. You have the lives of many in your hands.

AHHHHHH! *hides under desk*
*gets cold and puts soft chenille robe on*
yep I've seen both extremes...although I once think I made a person mad and I felt so bad because I pride myself on being nice to everyone...maybe they were having a bad day or not feeling well so I forgave and went on again and my next experience with that person was very nice...a good life lesson!
very wise jmc
I am completely serious at all time
MPitt... hopefully nobody takes things said here TOO seriously, or personally
Too cold here for anything but warm robes. But it feels very good this evening to be Babbling.
MP, we've all had that type of experience. that's the nature of a chatroom. never know how your comment might be read or interpreted
I have hacked off a person or too in the chog -- but I try not to lay my opinions on too heavily
*two
I am saying NOTHING on this topic! tee hee
it's nice to have you here chatting with us Stidgmere. You don't do it often enough
ok, getting really slow... how far must i go to list respectably?
I've kicked back in the chog as well, but mostly to stop people from going down a path that would end up making people mad

oh yes...the written word can be quite misinterpreted..no tone of voice, or inflection...and I think there is even a book titled, "say what you mean" or something like that...that's one way we keep lawyers busy thank goodness!
i think trif and i take the prize for hacking someone off on the chog !!!

I just try to be kind and allow for differences and sincerely thank people and notice at least one good thing in them. Sometimes it is hard tho!
lbd, that ni comes from the 2nd column
I entered that, but that's from a different N
