pc
it givesy you the list on the same page as you are on now and you are supposed to be able to typ0e in the words and they should go directly into the list
ty vash
And its free
how do you get it?
thank you for assuming that i am computer literate- i can barely manage this-lol
contact Lickety i believe and tell them you want it its a zip file i believe
good - then you can getit for free by emailing Lickety and he will send it to you. It puts everything on the same page, and there's a box where if you type one word it automatically goes both to Lickety's list and the Word list, and if you type more than one word it goes to the chat.
you'll find lickety's email to the right on his page
It's very simple smom -- not a zip file, an exe
there is also a pr 6/27 for pr 6x4
ty nan

Oh -- I haven't heard for a while
when I lost Yahoo IM, along with it all my contacts!! he wondered why he couldn't reach me I was busy all morning - making mincemeat for Christmas pies
well, he's had problems like that too
You're such a good cook!
Yahoo IM won't let you use your own name now, so had to create a new name - then find all my contacts - which isn't easy
Nobody noticed my star :(
ty, jilli, I made a big batch this year, family is very fond of it
I did jilli, sorry, wasn't chatting at all earlier, running back and forth, very interesting

clue for the third po4/6 please
po4/6 - slang for british people
Hello, All :-)
n
hello all
An early good morning to all of you fine folks.
... to all you fine people lurking somewhere in another short grid, or who are eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner, who are nearby cleaning house, but leave their babble 'on' even when not actually babbling ...
Clue please for fo 7/60
Hello, Gran ... good to see a live body. I only just got here myself and am not yet to the fo, but will be soon. I am working on the f words in fact.
Whoever gets it first, can clue the other ... how does that sound for a plan?
Sounds good - will do
he he - i like the po8 word
the fo 7 has the same ending as the 8, but uses the big scoring letter in the middle
Haven't got the po 8/45 yet can you clue it please pinny
I found the fo 7, gran. Of course it uses the big numbered tile in order to get to the 60 and it is the ultimate superlative.
po8 is 'the most' po4/5
It is absolutely the fo***** thing of all. I have never heard of the word before.
TY, Pinny, I'll remember that when I work on the po words.
Thanks Pinny
Gran, did you find the fo 8?
no worries - need any other clues before i disappear?
Only if there are 6 words that were hard for you to monkey out.
the only 6 word that gave me grief was the na6, because i can NEVER spell it correctly
Not yet
hmmm
For some reason, I always want 'fest' to be a word. Does anyone else have that?
Can you give a further clue for the fo 7 Merk
I always try "fest" and always get rejected. Good morning to all. Big snowstorm here in Buffalo area--schools are closed.
No, use that big tile after the initial fo. Then remember how you change the y to * when you make plurals. You can do that with comparatives, too.
You know how you like to eat French fr*** with a hamburger? Well take off the fr at the front and use the fo* that I've been cluing and add the *** of fr***. Then put a consonant on the end. I am terrible at cluing odd words.
Thanks Merk - funny how one searches for words then goes off to put the kettle on, comes back and sees words instantly.
Yes, please brew me some tea, too, as long as you have the kettle on.
Will do
Morning Babblers :)
good morning everyone
how is the grid?
hello nanette
Thank goodness you are here jac. Now we are three. Gran and I were just going to have some tea.
we had our snow yesterday Scrabs
Hi Jacq + Nono
The grid is OK.
heya merk, gran and scrabbler
We are going to have 2-3 feet of snow by Saturday morning.
wow
oh my thats a big one! must be lake effect?
we have been told we're going to have 2 weeks of very cold dry weather and because of the front that is here there will be no snow
I've been here less than half an hour and am half done. I spent most of my time trying unsuccessfully to clue the fo 8 for gran. I am not good at clueing odd words.
Lake effect snow--wind come from southwest across Lake Erie = snowmaking machine.
is this from that storm thats in the news scrabbler?
Merk I got the fo7 from your clue
Yes, Great Lakes area is having blizzard-like conditions
I am so glad that my hubby is out of there. He is in Minneapolis now where it has stopped snowing. Fasten your seatbelt Scrabs. When the snow stops, the wind will pick up and you'll wonder why you ever picked there to live.
the fo7 sort of reminds me of a muppet character
I grew up here. My family & friends are here. No reason to leave.
And I kept thinking of fog as in I haven't the fogg**** idea of what you are talking about.
I was born in MI and loved it while I lived there. But now when I go back or hear about their weather, I wonder how I endured those nasty winters.
We are tough. Also, I cross country ski and just bought snow shoes, so I have fun in the snow.
The chat is just getting good and I have to leave to have breakfast. My stomach is growling.
i love the snow
love driving and walking in it
I love cross country skiing, too. I can do it here, but not like in MI where they make trails thru the woods and across golf courses.
can't ski
could some one help with the Z please, it is my only blank tile
I've walked in the snow here this week until it got so bitterly cold that it gave me a severe frontal headache yesterday. I was all bundled up, but when I turned around to face the wind, it hit instantly. I couldn't get home fast enough. I never get headaches and it scared the soup out of me.
not there yet Mono ... breakfast calls ... bbl
break time here too bbl

mmm ciggie time i think 16 left and thinking about listing
I'm back. 46 left
wb merk, bacl also
I thought I'd finish while the caffeine saturates my body. Then I'll do the treadmill since the weather prevents me from going outside today. That way I can run to the loo in between walks to alleviate the misery of having to use the treadmill.
lol
oh Merk, you sound miserable. Although after seeing he US weather on our news i can understand why. Hello all
heya lynxxx, it does look awful doesn't it
Hey, Lynxx. Enjoying your new day?
Or are you still on the old one?
A few minutes after midnight so I'll head back to bed soon
Hi Jacq
for the life of me i cant find em4,8 my monkey is tired lol
it's more a sound than a word, uses the 4 point tile and is a plural
hi Edward
hi lynx
and thak you jacq
thank
yw
anyone find the po 8 yet ... now that is an odd word ... I shudder to think of the meaning
thanks, didn't even know what it started with
lol i found it, made me blink a lot
feel like cluing it? i dont want to blink that much till ive had a tea
It builds on the po 4,5 and is a comparative
the worst of the dirty movies?
It's the only one that ends like the fo 7 that I've found so far.
merk i could kiss you
My phantom is promise
have been looking for an f for ages
Well, thank you, I could hear that more.
mwwwaaaahhhhh!
I clued it when I was here earlier at 5:30 or so. Later I thought of a better clue.
i donlt read the chog when i just come on i always think i am cheating if i do
jacq, your BabblePurity stuns me! LOL
purity?
whee into the varieties of po 4/5 first thing in the morn;0
wow, LOL
at least something is pure
I don't either. I get on so early, it's a waste of time. No clues are given in the wee hours. I prefer to find them myself until I'm stuck and I will ask for clues.
i try to get to at least 50%
gather ye clues, er rosebuds, while ye may . . . :-)
lol
rosebuds?? im looking out the window at a foot of snow, nary a rosebud to be found;9
just watched Obama's speech in Oslo -- as always, such a thoughtful and challenging man -- moved me to tears . . .
crossy :-)
I found a third word that ends like the fo and pr. Only 5 letters though.
dont know about your guy,but if our guy did 50% of what he says he does,id be moved to tears lol
I was listening to NPR yesterday and some whacko lady from Texas was talking about how Obama hates America
i wish someone would give me an award for something I might do in the future
if any of them did we'd all be moved
Pro
sorry
ok helmut..1 sec....
ok, with comments like that, I'll take another break . . . bye
Must go to work. back later
this plaques marks this spot for the great time traveller HELMUT who was here in 2065..;)
morning all. be nice if our world leaders weren't all bought and paid for by corrupt pollution generating corporations. canada needs to get rid of the harper gang but there's no good option to replace them.
oh, thanks! I'd like like to dedicate this award to all the little people!
Hey gang.
none...when trudeau was in power,we moaned and complained, but now we look back with fondness and realize that he was not such a bad guy
Bye
just how much does the president of the US get paid a year?
Just saying hi before running off to the clinic.
hindsight
any help for fo 7 please
most of the trouble is that they can't pass ther good legislation because the opposition blocks it at every turn and they spend so much time and money undoing the works of the previous powers
Oh Hego, you might miss getting a plaque.
Oh, darn, Merk.
Inge, it ends like the po 8. Get that one first and the fo is a breeze.
I have 2 words to go - the 7 and 8. Any clues?
build on the po 4,5
lol helmut, you know what little people are to big people, road salt they spread on the slippery slope to the top..we are nothing but traction lol
the 8 is a po, and it is the worst of the dirty movies
That's what you get for burying your nose in the grid anike. We've had a few good laughs over the po 4,5 and 8.
the 7 os an fo that ends the same way
Sorry - I've only had the odd moments to duck in and out today and haven't had a chance to check out the chat
po is a major internet problem in the US and elsewhere I assume, especially when it's kids.
Then make it a comparative.
After you get it, the fo 7 is a breeze.
TY for the 8 jacq
yw
very much so merk,we have a 15 year old so we have more security and passwords on our home computers that the fbi has on thiers lol
right
I'm glad my kids are grown and gone, but then its the grands to fret about.
indeed,my sons friend has problems cause he bypassed the schools security blocks and was caught surfing porn on a library computer;(
I can't believe that fo7. Reminds me the muppet bear.
a lot of kids do it through google because you can change the filters and it isn;t usually detected by security
Someone else said that too.
Yay!! ot the 7 - TY all. Fireworks
wtg anike
ro 5,12 is here, too, but that's not po 4,5. Shakespeare never wrote po 4,5 did he?
YAY!!! Anike
But then we also have pr 4,6, which we all are, right?

I;m going to put my swollen foot up and do my jigsaw - daughter bought it for me and she is in the bad books - it is damn hard
Good morning everyone!

i havent seen her either. we do want to come but the parents want to take a vacation and meet us somewhere. so we will see.
That would be nice, either way.
from pictures she looks like sapir but i am told she has zvis chin and skin color is sari not zvi.
Can anyone help me with the lone u?
it ut4/4
ut then vowel plural
UT4/5
I am sure she is gorgeous, and Sapir makes a gorgeous big sis.
ty!
sapir is an amazing neshama. i have never seen such a child who is calm and smart and just amazinly easy. sari is a fantastic mother and wife and what can i say except we love her very very much. and zvi is in heaven with love for her.
off to sudoku, happy babbling everyone
What more could any mother/grandmother/mother - in-law want from life! Sari's calm permeates the home.
i feel very blessed to have my 4 married kids so happily married. and all doing well.
so clues mich???????
I hate I's, how about the 2 lone I's? Thanks mkg
saris calm is wonderful. but it is more than calm, it is intelligence and capability too. she does so so much.

Hi all! it is so cold today!
hi geek, that bad?
cold for texas - about 37
F
it is definitely wintering here as well. Walking the dog now takes something to keep my head warm, which is saying something because I hate headwear.
don't forget the sunscreen
I think it is always cold in your area! even in summer
i remember wearing wool sweaters in June and July in Oostend
hey BabbleRabble, glad to see you. Lol @ sunscreen. Cloudy Netherlands - great skies but not so much suns.
Babble - how are you?
-5 °F (-21 °C ) Wind Chill: -16 °F (-27 °C)
doing okay
you are probably used to higher temps anyway, geek. In Summer we usually don't wear woolen sweaters or coats, but it's true that we aren't a very warm country.
Wow, just read your profile. I was in an abusive relationship over ten years ago. I can certainly relate to what you posted!
Chag Sameach Michnik
Sprite - I went to the beach in Schevenegen and froze! The locals were in swimsuits. The North Sea is way to cold for me

Hi Mitch
Hi hego Am back on broadband so can babble again *happy dance*
How is the grid today?
Dances with Mitch.
Woopee.........FM is back!!! Good afternoon all...
I just started but it seems a little weird. Not as bad as yesterday, though.
(((cait)))!!!! Breaks open a bottle of bubbly to clebrate, how are you?
So good to see you was going to send you an email this week but time just flies :(
Im really pleased to see you, and thats not only for the champagne.Im great thanks,Have you got the same email address?
hego, I haven't done a grid for about 3 weeks so I need an easy one to slide me back into the babble mindset!
hi all *holds out champagne glass hopefully*
Yes email is still the same cait
And I do too
Hi jmc
Hi jmc
Thats good then FM we can start being in touch again
You have to say bubbly to get JMC.
Gets the cabana boys to pur glasses for the ladies :)
I will be flitting in and out since I am at the office
no you could say Jack Daniels too, hego
ty mitch
and for the cabana boy too. lol
pur or pour :) The boys will look after you jmc
I have put some olives, nuts , crisps etc in the PB so we can all celebrate
HAve you had the lovely sun today cait? It has been bliss after a month of rain.
*nicks the olives before anyone else can get to them*
Yes sun all day!! And more to come yippee!!
hey be nice and share the olives!
hego the cabana boys have been a feature of the PB for many years now.
Hey I want an olive!
hello jmc and fmitch and cait
i want a martini to go with that olive
Hi science :)
Dont worry jmc and hego, I have put some spare ones in the cupboard Hi science!!
Nobody told me about the cabana boys! pouts
I'd like a James Bond to go with the martini!
well you have to learn about these things gradually hego
We're in fantasy land now. Oh yeah!
other wise there woulb be nothing left to be amazed by
depends on the James Bond FM
oh me, too, as long as it is Sean Connery
cabana boys! i missed something
Sean Connery is my James Bond (shows my age)
You're right jmc. Almost nothing amazes me anymore.
LOL science!
We used to have hunky firemen calling in but they must have been frightened off :)
But almost everything amuses me.
Sean Connery is the ONLY James Bond
God it is good to be back on broadband and not worrying about how much time I am using.
i guess i'm a bit of a conservative, after all
I agree!!!
I want to be amazed as well as amused
lol dorens
Dorens!!!! *passes glass of bubbly*
i prefer to be amused than amazed
so a very old boy friend found me on FB
Hi Dorens!!
sorry, can't drink (at the office!!) but thanks anyway
jmc wants it all.
ohhh, jmc, that could be interesting?
why not want it all?
ooh do tell jmc.
That's interesting jmc.
yes, it is good to see you FMitch.. all settled in the new home?
I am ambivalent about him finding me
We're all ears!
Pretty much Dorens, still a few boxes to unpack but loving it.
wow jmc is he a nice person?
glad to hear that... best of luck there
ambivalent! why?
when I still lived in Texas he was a guy that I would meet up with fr4 time to time and go at it with
hego nice photo of the butterfly
hmmmmmm "go at it with"? that could mean several things
My oh my
Go at it with !!LOL
he had waist length beautiful red hair and a whacky sense of humor
oops, an old friend with benefits, i see
LOL
Only one thing Dorens
it means the fun kind dorens
well.......can he still go at it? or is he too old>
:)
is he still here in houston?
oh my. middle of the day and we're talking risque? go at it with could have meant arguing???debating?
i went back a few years ago to HS reunion and my friends all said -- Rusty is looking for you
Are you going to meet him?
waist length red hair - wow!
science if he is too old then I am too
hope he isn't tooooo rusty!
Lucky girl!
lol Dorens
If you have no ties, no harm in meeting up then?
you are not too old jmc!
it was in the middle of a major oil recession, most of my class was out of work and I was married
at it then, girl!!!
but he did tell me then that he was in love with me and broken hearted when I left town
talk about amazed!
Hey one is never too old for anything or starting over - and I know that to be true as I am doing it.
Now that's amazing!
and amusing
Me too Mitch.
yeah I would mind a romp but I have never had any interest in this guy for anything else
How flattering jmc, I would go meet with him and just see how it feels.
Very true FM
well, romp on!
*wouldn't mind
GO jmc!!!
he may be disappointed in my *ahem* more mature body
Or give it a go, maybe.
I agree it would be nice to see if the spark is still there, and if its not there is nothing lost
his might be more mature as well!
He might be thinking the same thing about his body
he did cut his hair
Lucky that he still has any, as my husband would say LOL
and he does apparently sometimes hang with ozzie ozborn
eek the Samson and Delila effect?
That's good.
I like Ozzie
well i am thinking about it but I thought it was interesting regardless
he claims to still love me
Do it jmc
Oh you have to jmc.
You're lovable.
I will of course let you all know if I do it. *giggle*
Has he married in the years in between?
And fun
hanging with Ozzie, now that is very amusing!
er hego I don't think he means the same way
got for it and call me when you are in town!
we could go on a double date lol
FM I think the champagne is going to jmc
*grin*
Struggling with fo7/60 need a clue, please?
his profile only shares with friends and I haven't accepted his invitation yet
oh come one jmc take him in as a friend on FB so you can see what's up
Oh, well, good luck dear. I have to get back to the F words.
I may try googling him later
Sorry MArc, haven't started the grid today.

mu6 that dog is a ***t! + variation of the high card
mu 6/24 mu + most of the electrical stun gun the police use
Wow caitlyn, I thought I got married young. I am 58 and have been married 35 years and have 3 wonderful children but none of them married and with that thankfully no grandchildren. But we are coming to the point where we would take grandchildren any way we could get them.

Hi Aloy!
Yay! The good cluers are here!
lecture is starting, have to pay attention. bbl.
hi hego (-:
And I'm back, though I see FM has to attend to the phone.
Hi Haz, wb
Hello, Aloy, nice to see you.
hego, just read your profile.. I have a wish.. Tuscany!
what is a good time of the year to go there?
Been there many times, Aloy.
gee, I missed fr4, even tho that is what my hair does in this humidity, lol
The fall is best.
ooh, am envious hego.. ok, Fall it is
Earlt October is prime.
early
got it (-:
I went there for a week on my honeymoon in 2008. i love it, especially the eastern part where not many people go.
found a Tuscany cookbook at a book sale.. drool over the pics, and the food.. ooh la la!
It's great! I go to Italy primarily to eat!
outstanding.. lots of fresh veggies, fish, herbs..
Yup
had some rosemary, so I fixed one of the fish/potato/tomato dishes.. now a favorite
You're making me hungry!
making myself hungry too!
LOL!
so distracted I can't find the mu6
got it now.. just had to ask
Oh, Lord z words.
good to see you too, Haz.. wasn't ignoring you, just got carried away thinking of Tuscan food
Oh, don't worry, it's easy to get distracted when Italian food is being discussed.
am back and greeetings to Aloy!
hubby fixed rollatini sp? last night.. manicotti stuffed with eggplant.. yummy
Hello, all! Hello, FM!
Oh that sounds good Aloy.
Hello, Vicuna!

(FM is one popular lady)
Hello, jmc.
Hello, jmc.
hi jmc!
Ack, it sounds like a fac machine trying to get through, had it call a few times this week.
Just thinking of you and your interesting news earlier, jmc.
FM can climb the Cliffs of Dover with nothing but personal magnetism.
hi vic
LOL Vi
Although the Health and safety people are becoming a bit sticky about it.
They're insisting on mattresses at the bottom, aren't they, FM?
If they get sticky enough, they'll be able to get up the cliffs, too.
hi haz
Spoilsports.
I want to come see that
Oh the odd matress here or there for the wimps
pr6/27?
pr6/27 - the sort of stove some campers use.
Or what the twee ladies said in surprise when described as pr4/6.
pr6/27 - latin first
propane?
I see that thanks to Haz's clue but seeing as i haven't stated the grid I WILL resist.
lol, Haz.
pr + the first name of the guy who got in trouble for dissing the afro-amer girls basketball team
In fact, he got fired
Thank you all!
Aloy - is your spider bite /shiver* healing now?
ty ty I finally got it
You're welcome, Holly.
hi aloy
oh yes, ty FM.. lots of new skin, so the hand looks "patchy"
good to hear that, just still makes me shiver at the thought of a spider getting that close.
well, I didn't see it or feel it, so that bothers me.. where did it happen? Have furiously vacuumed the bedroom, lol
never been cleaner!
EEEKKKK
Oh, that's a bit unnerving!
LOL... arachnophobia reigns!
Meanwhile, it hides in a cupboard, smirking....
*puts up spider proof window screens in PB*
Oh sush HAz for heavens sake!
I personally like spiders but I fear you guys will smush them
ty so much, jmc
Good idea jmc, don't know why I didn't think of that before.
Hee hee, Haz clearly knows just how spiders think. Could she be...
no thank you, Haz! LOL
spiders eat mosquitoes
... haven't mentioned the magical powers I now have..
fr 6 42 please
Not me, jmc. I always put them out in a glass... or just let them be if they aren't in the way!
I just know that they wait until I've got my back turned and then go like the clappers at getting those blessed webs spun.
I know I know the small ones are fine it's just the really big ones that freak me out.
On the other hand, if one was biting me personally, I'd smush it.
fr6/42 - make a present tense, or a plural from fr4/12
what happens to my hair in the humidity, TeamEd
You see that Haz is coming at the spider angle from the cleaning persective - the rest of us are just going for the eek factor.
No, Vicuna... you would capture it for the doc to see!
Oh, right. That's what I'd do. Good thing I'm so clever as to remember that, Aloy! lol
I know! They don't bother me so much in themselves, it's the evidence of their having been there that bothers me.
thanks aloy;) and haz
really... did a lot of internet snooping, and that is a recommendation.. important
yvw Team
You're welcome, Team.
Vi all is well with you and the ToG? HAve they achieved any further great heights?
hi team
My house is sadly webby. But I reckon no one can see past the toys and papers and all to see the webs.
i need 3 more words! argh! 2 r's and one n
hi jmc
Hi all......clue please for po8?
hi flask
ooh, Flask... the most nasty
Yep, we're all blooming, thanks, FM. Let's see, great heights...
Flask - po8 - superlatively sleazy. Think of a film least likely to get a U certificate.
Hi JMC....
think of someone who is more Larry Flinty
They read more books that anyone else in their school for the summer read-a-thon...
yup, like Haz and jmc said
They are playing a duet in a concert tonight...
Hi Flask - who is the little person in your icon?
They found a cure for cancer...
(Alas, just kidding about that last.)
Any madrigal composing going on, VI?
My brand new grandson....Alexander John MacLean!!
Ah so the ToG are flourishing, great to hear :)
too bad vic -- but you cold fold-at-home towards that cure
Congrats GrannyFlask!
Have they mastered stilt walking while juggling?
Isn't that quite the name, FM? I really like it.
lol...thankyou Mitch...X
When was he born?
Who is Larry Flint?
Nov. 11th
moles moles and more moles
TOG-boy actually does like messing about with composing... but no, no madrigals. And by his age Mozart had already written 2 operas and a symphony or so, so no genius for us.
ratsky.. must go and I hate leaving such a super group.. see you all next grid, I hope.. byeeee
Bye, Aloy!
Larry Flink, proprietor of Hustler Magazine
a po4 purveyor
why is fest not a word? its in lickety, had this prob before
Bye, Aloy!
Bye Aloy - good to have seen you.
bye aloy
Congrats, Flask!
awwwww, congrats Flask.. a beautiful child!
Clue for po8 Please??
Larry Flint must be American. Do we know any sleazy people over here, FM?
Thanx Vicuna
....And Aloy
Team_Edward, the dictionary Babble uses, Enable, is an arbitrary master. You must learn to accept this.
umm a few but not prepared to fess up at this point.
sometimes lickety gets carried away
Flask, for po8 - use the word for the nasty film/books, make it an adjective and then the most it can be.
perfect clue Haz!....and thanx!
i think it is funny that the grid has po4 po8 and sm4!
You're welcome, Flask.
Paul Raymond and whats his name with the hair Haz you know who I mean, with the nmight club...

Aww, farewell, FM!

Bye, FM!

Stringfellow runs night clubs, has long hair and fancies himself as a bit of a dandy. Creepy.
Thanks for that advice, Haz!.....lol
Well done, Holly!
I think I can restrain my curiosity haz
Who is Peter S?
Yay for Holly F!
whoo hoo holly!
need a clue for the ro 5/12 pls
Explanation given at 1.42, hego. A British roue and a bit of a joke.
Wherefor art though?

thou
ro5/12 - famous Montague
ro5/12 - less famous Beckham.
oops, time to go meet the offspring on their way home from school. Back in a bit, I hope.
LOL Haz!
They've got nothing on Tiger!
Bye, Vicuna, give the TOG a pat on the back from me, they're bound to have achieved great things at school.
Bye Vicuna
bye vic
Haz, how's spangle doing?
She's fine, hego. She was at the groomer today and came back all beautiful with a Christmas goody bag!
Aaaaahhhh
nice of the groomer
We've cheated and allowed her one of the biscuit/bone things. She's not into keeping things for too long.
Hubby works at a big vet haospital.
She's been going to the same groomer for years. Apparently she 'stands like a lady' while all is done to her.
i am guessing spangle is not too into christmas per se
Last week we had a take you pets picture with Santa to benefir th SPCA
I didn't know that, hego! My husband is a vet, specialising in large animals but working in a mixed practice.
All the pets got goody bags.
No, Spangle lets Christmas pass her by. I don't buy into the whole stockings for dogs for Christmas etc - husband would think I'd lost my mind.
Hubby isn't a vet. He's a building doctor. Makes sure the place doesn't fall down.
That's pretty important as well, hego.
Some of our best friends are vets, however.
Our practice recently opened a branch surgery and all the vets were oohing and aahing at how well the plumbers and electricians could do their jobs.
It's actually a big job Haz. It's called property manager.
How big is the hospital?
He must make sure all is in good working order from the plumbing to the anaesthesia machines.
It's huge!
They do everything there. including grooming and boarding.
I'm sure he's kept busy, in that case. There's a lot of wear and tear on a building, not to mention all the piddling!
Ah, yes, rots things, youknow.
the piddling isn't piddling?
clue please for pr6/27 please?
pr6/27 - the sort of wee stove you used to use on picnics.
aah!........Such memories Haz!...lol
Okay, time I was away. Nice to have a chat - it's been busy here over the past few days and haven't had much chance to do more than get the grid done.
Yes, Flask, pr6 stoves, windswept beaches etc!
Bye for now!
The look up says it's a bishop in the Scottish Epicopal Church.
thanx...and g'nite Haz!
Bye Haz!

It's f and the o4 word for margarine

though this cheese mania is getting a bit much,i mean when you have a monthly budget to include a sliver of some rare and awsome cheese from halfway around the world, and it is no larger than half a slice of cake, and you keep it in the safe next to you stocks and not in the fridge, something has gone too far;))
that's debatable jmc, hubby says so.........
yaa for lind
maybe it is the particular stilton
no jmc, just my first time!! lol
I never want anything that expensive to eat crossy
it is good with crisp tart apples
I have gone from plastic cheese to stilton in one major jump.........
i am not a fan of mouldy cheeses..yuk & they stink.

fireworks ty lynxxx
FIREWORKS!!!
go monkey go
yea Kaplan
Congrats Mixi & Kaplan!!
This is getting to be a habit...when an appointment cancelled this AM I did this instead of going to the gym.
Thank you.
there should be backup grids. like, only one per day that "counts" but then one or two extras you can do if you're having a slow day. how bout it doc? :)
Right. Because we need more of these to suck the life out of our days . . .
One is enough for me!
hi Hursh. You'll have to contact MRP, apparently Lickety made her an 800 one - wouldn't that be fun!
well if you are at work with nothing to do the life is already sucked out of your day! and this would put a modicum of life back IN.
hmm, i don't know about staring at the SAME grid for long enough to find 800 words...
there is just noooo satisfying you
that's true. that happens with depressive types.
I was looking at some of your profiles, and most of you seem to be women of about my age with a lot interests
in common with me
For some reason when I started I assumed you were a bunch of men, but I should have figured with all the chat relationships. Why are so many women of around our age on the playing this game and chatting? What does this say?
what age are you talking about Kaplan?
Studies say that women are naturally more gifted with words, in the way that men are naturally better with math and spatial relationships, though of course that is a rule not an ironclad law
Or of course, I wouldn't be here ;)
Hi Nancy Boy! long time no see
Heh! But I notice more men than women are regulars at the ironsudoku boards
even a lot of our guys are gay - i wonder if there is a connection.
Well, I don't know how old you are, but there seems to be a lack of people in their 20s and 30s.
Heya Lynx :) I've been travelling a lot, so I haven't been on. Had to come back to england tho - ran out of money!!
*waves from the thirtysomething crowd*
I'm a verrrrry late thirty something
I got hooked once on another chat thing with a group of women who watch a certain soap opera! In fact, 30 of us have been talking for 5 years.
Hello, kids
How lovely NancyBoy, an advantage of being in the UK, so close to so many countries
I now feel like a big, male, nineteen-year-old odd foot.
*ppppttthhhhbbbtttttt* backatcha
yesterday you thought I was a teenage boy.
Because I'm fresh sometimes
having unusual interests for a 19 year old male is a GOOD thing.
Got that right, Lynx :) how have you been?
There are always exceptions to the general rule
I don't know Hursh, sometimes I think I'm a girl in the wrong shape. Gender schmender.
I just revealed my gender.
I think that "genderqueer" ought to be an official choice on the US Census. Who do I talk to about that?
This is a public place now ;)
How boring. I liked being a guy.
*runs into the chog + slide-tackles NB*
Evaaaa! how are you, gorgeous?!
gorgeous, of course. :) hehe how are YOU??
hi Eva
And look at that ring!! congratulations :D
thanky, thanky. :)
how have you been, stranger??
and I'm alright ta, a little poor and exhausted and hungry-looking following a long trip with some friends - been all around the world, caught some interesting diseases, almost married some people - GREAT time!
I just neutered myself.
hungry-looking? as opposed to all those extra pounds you were carrying before? ;)
Food money has a horrible way of turning into drink money, cigarette money and hair gel money ;) buuuut what terribly old news. Tell me about this engagement! Exactly the lift I needed :)
he asked, i said yes. yknow, the usual. ;)
Sorry, I just think it's so romantic. Although like most babies, I cry at weddings.
it was a lovely, sickeningly-sweet romantic proposal. just unique enough to suit us. :)
Must be off, lovely bright morning here - Bye all
well, hope it turns into a lifetime of happiness and all that :) y'know the one thing I really regret about being gay is that I'll never have a huge cushy wedding. But it's not all about the frock I s'pose ;)
who says you cant? you do what makes you happy!
see you, Lynx :)
My father would faint, kill me, kill himself - not necessarily in that order. Think it'd be the last nail in the carefully crafted denail coffin!
you can get married here Nancy....Vermont allows gat marriage and is a great place for a wedding (well not now in the middle of winter unless you're a ski bunny)
or even denial. interesting slip :D
we probably would allow "gat" marriages too.
LOL
hi everyone! love that slip Nancy Boy! lol
hi all
Well I do try ;)
ahh, padre still a little uneasy with the lifestyle?
It would be lovely, lovely, lovely, but my dad's kind of hard-core and believes my life since the age of 14 has been a "phase". He was brought up really traditionally back in Korea. I think he'd disown me.
But the heart wants what it wants!
winchill -17 and dropping..brrrr
And you MUST follow your heart!
hahahahahaha Crossie, so pleased I escaped! lol
*cue hollywood music, sunset shots etc*
LOL Lindrick, most we're dealing with in England is just wet, wet, wet
POUNCE
man, now ive got the hideous celine dion song from titanic rolling through my mind...
Nancy hun i have so missed you.
ahh, now i see why NB likes to run away from babble + come back. he rather enjoys being pounced upon. ;)
Eva I love that ring
I DO love the attention. Herin! :D how are you?!
lol eav,my son and his friends have a game with thier i-pods,they play russian roulette with the songs, they set it to shuffle and randlomly listen to song clips...the bullet is when one of the hits a celiene dion song!!
TY herin. me too! :)
sorry I am in a hotel and my connection seems so slow, I just can't keep up today!
a fate worse than death, crossy!
my wife calls her "the scramer"
though i do secretly like the song "im alive'
Isn't it bizarre that when you look at the songs on your ipod, you love all of them, but when you put your ipod on shuffle, you like about 1/15 of them
i call her "awful"
very true, NB!
Nancy did yuo know that shuffle isn't all that random
gotta go, cya later, bye xxx
Lind hi and loves
Hi Crossie
howdy herin
What does it, Herin? There IS logic there, I know there is. And if there's one thing I avoid, it's logic
hi everybody!!
Apparently it has a program which goes on tempo and that kind of thing. BF told me about it.
my ipod is slipping into new realms these days. Lots of Yeah Yeah Yeahs on there. Can't remember which festival they were at but I think I was there

ok what is it with cats climbing in boxes no mater how dangly they are
ohhh, why is it so that you can live nineteen years without drooling whilst you sleep, and then the one time you fall asleep in a bar your mouth just goes to town?
i dunno NB, keep talking about KOL and things might get sticky. :X
LOL, nancy boy
pr 4 & pr 5 a formal dance

fever, how hight?
how much fluid do I need to take in order to not get dehydrated? I think with kids it's an ounce an hour, but not sure with me.....fever is 102
can you get into the bathtub to lower your fever?
Get off babble and sleep
go from warm to cool. Wrap up really well before getting out of the bathroom
wouldn't like to, with the two littleones in the house and no primo...could later though
102 is serious, trif. and the fluid question, as much as you can handle, i would suggest
can't herin, primo isn't home eyt
what get off babble?
suggest tylenol if you have it, it is a fever reducer
thanks
water is good, but add a little salt to help you drink more and retain water
do you have any crackers?
salt will dehydrate you, though. hmmm
hi Gwen
hiya infernal
you can add motrin to the fever reducing mix
my doc has me do 4 hr intervals of tylanol and motrin with the kids
I have a giigle
caution, motrin is concentrated aspirin, so if aspirin makes you sick, avoid the motrin
phantom: promise
they just had a recall on childrens motrin
causeing blindness ans some sort of blood infection

Poor Trif!

i'm surprised it didn't go for more, welki. she was the embodiment of elegance
Um Sweetie i don't think you should be admitting that. Gross.
i think there were four dresses auctioned and the collective price was over $400K
I'm going bonklers trying to get that upper left o ..

Mrs Crosshair = Elegant

phantom O : orizon
Thanks Dorens ..
are you following the roar of the rings, crossy/elegant?
i just sent u a friend request
nope,television=evil
attempting to login to facebook and friend you, edward. i'm getting the buggy alerts. still trying . . .
is farmville a game or a sims?
Book give up Facebook is being crappy
no, i just got through and accepted you as a friend. (awwww)
farmville is not really a sim. tho it's designed lind of like a sim. you build a farm, raise crops, chickens, etc
okay, now i'm going to "neighbor" you. (ugh, the verbing of nouns!)
Book if you have issues go to www.farmville.com
Its the website off the facebook site
ok thank you
hooray, i just got a brown chicken from you! my first noon-standard chicken, thanks 8-)
farmville.com just as buggy lately.
but different bugs, so yeah, sometimes it works
oh boy i have oranges to harvest . . . (can NOT believe i'm playing a non-boggle puter game!)
mu6 clue please?
NM, I found it
damn Gwen that is irritating
Fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yahoo Ed!
yah Te
now gotta wait 5 hrs till the flip grrrr
clue for na6 please?
don't growl, team ... won't be long before we get a barrage of huge grids :)
I am going laters
I want a huge grid
i like them too (these small ones leave me wanting more, more, more)
I like 150-170 words--just right for me.
na6= a sick, sick word
na6 - upset stomach, indigestion, na****
hi mm!
I just found it but TY for clues.
hi welki
MM, it's late for you
belated wtg edward !!! ~~~ !!!
thx
You're telling me scrabs
Loud thunder overhead! So odd with snowstorm.
cant wait till we get a 2?? grid
I went to see 'Law Abiding Citizen' today
we get that here sometimes .. spooky, isn't it
soooooo my doorbell rang and it was the UPS man with my cute little acer aspire.. it is so tiny!
oh yes, i have had thundering snowstorms and it is eerie
farmville also sucks up all my processing power. it's making babble all jerky.
I am using mine right now, Doren!!! I have the blue one.
what's an acer aspire?
funny. me too (the blue one). but i have to charge it.
minis make travelling much lighter ... and they're powerful little machines. i have an hp and love it when on the road
I have been very happy with mine, Doren--small, easy to transport, does everything I need it to do, and a bargain.
this will be my dedicated babble machine. once i found out how cool babble expert was, i had to have one. I love my mac, but needed this!!
it doesn't even weigh three pounds.. can't believe this can work!
bdg, it is a tiny laptop.. under $300 and apparently quite good
Yes, so e-mail yourself the Babble Expert document.
only downfall is battery longevity, but i understand you can buy super-duper ones now
My battery lasts 6 hrs
does it have a phone and a coffee maker in it? lol
and you can buy extended batteries for them that will give you signifcantly extended time. Nieces machine came with 2200mah battery and I bought her a 7800mah battery. should give her 9-12 hours.....
i'll do that, scrabs. first i have to charge it and read about it... it looks different from what i'm used to. but now i can't wait to come home from school tomorrow and play with it. i just got fireworks, so it will wait till tomorrow
you must have one of the 9 cells
Yes, I bought the $379 model with 6 hr battery
wtg dorens !!! ~~~ !!!
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
good, a bit chilly. and guess what, i paid off my not-car-loan today, weee
Hi Min.
yay, gwen
Dorens, I hope you treuly have fun with your new little computer. We have three or four in the family now and find them great to take around.
Hi Stidgmere
Finishing paying loans is a RED letter day or maybe it is black.
Hello stidgmere! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
red letter day for me. payment was due 10 days ago. but no big penalty at least. not an evil bank loan, a credit union loan
I paid off my mortgage last January--wonderful feeling to have that done.
Hi Scrabbler and all. I've been out choosing a tree today and my husband is now very crabby. I think it has to do with the price of trees while we are surrounded by the same ones.
tu5 clue please?
yup, feels good!
I agree, Stid.
Hi all - wahhhh, net down at home, now here at the library and just getting started - no one in here, though, weather's too icky out!
arnold would say it's not a tu***!
Hi rbud
arnold who?
ok, it is plugged in. i can't wait to play with it. and thanks stidgmere, I expect i will
does that help, ? okay, tu5, cancerous growth
the Governator of California ;)
say it with an austrian accent. 8-)
Weather is a real factor in much of the country today. We are still below freezing day and night.
Fish! I didn't go that way in the grid.
does the po8 relate to the previous word?
(sending scrabbler an alibut)
yes it does gwen
ooh, just got it. weee
oooh, feels so good to be babbling, was having withdrawals...
Doren, the "mouse" on this netbook is the main thing I dislike--I need to use 2 hands--index fingers--to use it--very tough with 1 hand
Or, Doren, get a real mouse and all is simple
i was looking at it scrabbler and not figuring it out at all... hoping the book might explain a bit more
ahhah! real mouse would be good for at home, but I think i probably should learn how to use the built in one when travelling
It is a strange creation, Doren but I do with with both index fingers
i have faith.. eventually i will figure it out. and then just load babble expert and i'll be set. i will be sooo happy tomorrow
Yes you will, Doren!
ro5/12 please?
it's a fish, do you still want it?
ro5, words that have the same ending. poetry
(spelled wrong)
I found Juliette's frined!
ack, wrong clue, ignore me!!
ro*** and juliet
I mean friend of Juliet
yup-- so no fish then!
12 to go, all pr's

finally found the fo7. silly word!
Back from phone call--on call and I got paged. prizo
I was trying to guess the last pr5/6 combo
wrong last vowel scrabs
oh. doesn't use that letter
i mean the high schoring one... actually it ends with auntie** from the wizard of oz
evening, boys and girls!
I am lost, Doren
Hi Une
hi une!
scrabbs, is your furnace working now??
hi everybody
hey, buttonman :-)
not con but pr* + auntie ** from the wizard of oz (and plural)/. 5/14 and 6/24
Yep, it was fixed by about 2 yesterday afternoon. Fortunately my nephew was here and let the repairman in
i need the pr6/27, not the one you're all talking about, plz and ty
TY, Doren
glad you're nice and toasty! :-)
Hi Buttonman
pr + don ****, radio personality who made disparaging remarks about rutgers basketball team
whoa, broken furnace? not with this weather!!
ah, TY dorens and . . .
I am having trouble finding the po 8, any clues please?
Most X-rated
FIREWORKS!P
yay, gwen!!!!!
PO8 = girlie mag, then add ending meaning even more so
yay gwen!
thanks, Scrabbler, I do not know why I did not see it.
okay, can i relax now? lol
Thanks, Book!
Yes, Doren, I awoke yesterday, then power went off and came on 1 min later. House temp = 58 degrees. I needed a new "motor head" for $95 repair.
Yay Gwen
Buttonman, I struggled with it too--maybe it reflects our clean minds to have missed po8, haha
oy!
gglad it was only a $95 repair scrabbler... furnaces can be so expensive
Ahoy, matey! Yikes, here comes the snowplow, grrrrrr
lol...yay snow plow
It is SO loud--a low roaring monster coming around the bend and up the street. It will come down the street in a few minutes.
they are useful
better a noisy plaw than no plow, especially with 5 feet of snow or whatever!
Absolutely! Especially with a lake effect storm bringing 3 ft of snow from today through Saturday.
although driving a tiny littel car in 5 feet of snow can be kinda fun, too, hee hee
(crap, my fingers are brainless)
well all we have for tonight is very cold and windy. no three feet of snow. enjoy your evening everyone.. i'm done for now
bye dorens. i'm out too. POINK
Bye Doren.
snowplow again....ggggrrrrrrr
bye, dorens :-)
and gwen byeeee
well, I'm not going home until I finish the grid, no net there, and no one awake. I'll just turn out the library lights and Babble by the Christmas lights I just put up... ;p
Are you a librarian?
yep! The library is tiny, but it's all mine, muahaha!
Well, time for me to start dinner. We have a musical program tonight that the younger Stidkid is performing in the bad.
well, it belong to the town.... but I'm the only employee
What a fine thing to have, a library to take care of. Have a lovely evening rbud. The z's did me in. I'm not going to finish the grid but I got more than half and for me that is pretty good.
Hi all, pond is frozen, koi's are okay, just came in from breaking ice with a hammer and it is cold cold
having trouble with those Z's, too, enjoy the music, stidgmere
Mary, you sound like Pioneer Woman LOL
re-hi everyone ... could i have some help with the 8, please, for fireworks?
is there a heater on the pond, Mary? How do they live in frozen water? (I know nothing of koi ponds...)
tell that Pioneer stuff to my frozen fingers
(and then i can help with the z words if you want, rbud)
help me help me!
jmc!!! howdy!!
Yes, heater in water but just keeps the water open around the heater for oxygen.
*tosses a rope to jmc*
po 8 = the most X-rated (I think I saw back there as a clue somewhere)
hi une
hi all
no kidding
hahahaha, yep, it worked! thanks!
*pulling myself up the rope*

All I have is the one with all vowells
Hi again--got pulled away--on call

Mine is 7 - my vet says it is fat cells and that it is not dangerous

pr+the racist radio guy who got fired multiple times

pr6/27 -- a type of camping stove
these small grids are nice when holidays are nearing...helps keep the stress levels down *grin*
We always have rum balls covered in chocolate shot. I had to go to 3 stores to find chocolate shot. (Hope I haven't said anything that will send me to the PB)
I've always made hard sauce for the plum pudding, but not this year -- new kind of Xmas dinner planned :(
chocolate shot?
thanks again
sprinkles
ah!
little tiny bits of chocolate in a log roll kind of shape. I have always called it that...
canadian is my second language, i can translate to american :)
No plum pudding this year jilli, or just no hard sauce ?

They do have a different language back there in the east.

what are they?
still not getting the pr + radio guy got fired now on sat. radio with sidekick Robin...know who he is but can't put it together...
I wonder if they were just a NY thing -- they're those little tiny multicoloured sugar balls -- there were choc candies with them sprinkled on top, yum
it was satellite radio **** in the Morning
he made a remark about nappy haired basketball players
no they are all over the country with different names
sno-caps?
pr6/27 -- pr** and proper + you and me
I still use those thot they were sprinkles. I make an almond based cookie, dip half of it in chocolate and sprinkle millions and trillions on the chocolate. I like the new name
ty *light bulb goes off* now I got it
wtg MP
how about those big silver balls grandmothers put on cookies ... never knew if i was supposed to eat them or if they were ball bearings
I was thinking about one of the other real pieces of work that had a radio show!

I think of sprinkles as like little rods

sorry, meant the ones after what you get when you win a contest
from tomorrow's grid, MP
pr + the last part of rhyming verses
Excuse me, but tomorrow's theme is Hanukkah, or Chanukah, which begins at sundown.
Tomorrow's grid Mpittore. You pick a word from the grid as your icon to give others an icon clue.We can never get Friday's icon clue the day before since we have to wait for grid which will be at flip time 12:00.
To check themes, go to Sprite's link: http://tinyurl.com/6z7unz
Min that's usually the case, but this Friday is different.
I will still do an icon clue since it is Friday and that is what the theme usually is for Friday. Especially if it's a big grid, I am sure people will need some icon clues.
I'm not Jewish, but I thought it would be good to honour that date.
So that's why I suggested the theme.
se6,33?
last word
alternate spelling of having the shakes like a grand mal se6
ah, thanks!
I'm not Jewish either, but many people are so that is a good idea jillibus. I got company so I may not even babble tomorrow, but I certainly hope to. Can't miss a day without Babble!
I think I will go with jilli on this, I like her thought to honor the date...I will find a good icon! If tomorrow changes I will find another...it's all ok! Hugs and brb!
whoooooo hoooooooo JES!!!
An se6/33 sounds like what people with epilepsy have
Congratulations jesdraggon on fireworks! Good for U

thanks
later, Jilli, Hi Nef, Hi Joey
through the fire...
hi lbdawger and everyone else. since jili left, does anyone know the origin of ye gods and little fishes?
very funny ruru
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
no.. joey .. but I hate those stupid metal fishes on the backs of cars
i know what you mean, ruru,
Hi lbd, Joey, Min, Harpjane and ruru +
hi nef
i like the ones with legs on them (the fishes)
now THAT would be funny lbd
apparently the saying is an Americanism of a British declaration to the Gods. where the little fishes came from know one seems to know
is the po8 a compound word?
nope
no, it's an extention of the po4 before it, harp, think superlative
the most of sex videos a very dumb word
lol
extention?
po 8/45 is po 4/5 plus a superlative ending harpjane.
well, it is...kinda
From Wikipedia I can help a bit, but the mists of word history obscure its early story. It’s an elaboration of the older ye gods!, an exclamation that dates back at least to the seventeenth century in Britain, a way of calling on higher powers in a mock-heroic way without actually bringing the wrath of the Church down on you for blasphemy. However, ye gods and little fishes is characteristically American, an example of the embellishment and ornamentation that was common in the inflated language of the nineteenth century. I’ve found several examples from the 1850s, which suggest that by then it was well known. A good one appears in Early Indiana Trials and Sketches by Oliver Hampton Smith, of 1858: “Mr. Tyler’s friends in their great devotion to their great chief, have compared him to Napoleon. ‘Ye gods and little fishes!’ John Tyler and Napoleon Bonaparte!â€. But why the little fishes? Sorry, I’ve no idea, except there may be a disguised Biblical reference in there somewhere, perhaps to the story of the feeding of the five thousand in St Matthew’s Gospel. My suspicion is that it was a catchphrase from a play or popular song that is now lost to us.
okie dokie, off to my pillows. see you all tomorrow!
ruru...I can't see your icon...when I click on it and the big one comes up it is still your cute new pup
