phantom zaniest
crap meant za 5 sorry
what does 6/22 mean?
hah! monkeyed the Z!
it means 6 letters, 22 points
thanks!
because 6 letter words are double points, it means the word uses a total of 11 points as given by the numbers under each letter
length of 6 with 22 points
75 down and think I'll be listing soon
okay i am stalled at 36 i am out poof
6 letters are triple pts
can't be...it was 22
bye mlf -- bummer!

yw
graphics at pogo are pretty cool
Think I will check it out.. thanks dee. I loved that game
there are 4x4 and 5x5 size versions, and a single chat room for both at once (which gets confusing sometimes)
Wordsplay used to be WeBoggle - runs more smoothly now (for me anyway)
I have played weboggle long ago, and like you lyn, experienced glitches
it's very much redone from scratch
but the guy who made it still has some things to work out
I'll check that out ...
me, too ru... one of my faves; I think the original boggle was either at a hasbro site or at msn...
Have you played DCs games Volley? nice thing is there is no time limit
maybe msn... cuz it got yanked
there was "Boggle" licensed by Atari at games.com
too involved for me lynxxx... started ... did about 3 squares, then found the blog with the solution (I know, I know, I cheated)
that was kind of interesting in that you only scored for a word if no one else found it
I also liked tanglewords
but the games.com site was VERY buggy and things never got fixed
lots of spyware there, too
tangleword was excellent with its huge boards
and lots of people; I do miss that one
I miss the chat at wordsplay
Where are you Rose, did you melt away?!
there is chat there - you have to click on a button to open it up
aww didn't notice that...
to chat, you type a ' or " character at the front of your text in the same box where you guess words
how are you lyn?
Hello

that could be confusing....

I saw a really interesting pic from Aus. last week... from red dust... entire air was red... spooky to see, since I had never even heard of it before
nite granny
That happens Volley. It happened in Sydney it was very eerie
* poof *
what causes the "red sky"...
it would be spooky / scarey
Dust
Loves Rose take it easy
Yeah, Sydney & Qld had a couple of huge duststorms before Xmas. Dust from our Red Centre/deserts
would be interesting to know if anywhere in U.S. has same situation... we have red clay in Georgia and a few western states
very interesting to see
Lynxx i read that as red centred deserts
opps desserts
I bet it only occurs in Aus due to dust and temps or barometric pressure or something... have never heard of it here...
cherry icecream
volcanic eruptions and forest fires cause strange skies in the Us volley
what color sky, dart?
drool Lynxx. If i had a car I think I would have driven to Cold Rock by now. Hi Dart
is it the same red?
hi herin
sssh...don't say forest fires!
Well, 40 left here and I should go to bed -- goodnight all!
can be reddish...not sure if it is the same red
bye jilli
Goodnight Jilli
was glad mrp had mentioned it, would never have known about it... learn something new here all the time
Volley I was watching this doco on France in 1400 and the sky went red and the seasons changed dramatically. The scientists analyised Ice Cores from Greenland and discovered that the sulphur levels increased and temperatures changed by 1C
wow
The winters were harsh and long and summers were short and wolves roamed the streets of Paris looking for food
amazing to think about that based on what it looks like now
whhen krakatoa blew..think most of the North. hemi. lost that summer and there was a lot of dust in the air for a few years
well all got to get my butt moving... have to finish my list for the computer folks

Bye Volley.
I use Google Chrome
gonna run too
bye Dart
Dee, I use different browsers for different things
I've used, today, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, and will use Opera before I go to bed; my husband uses Firefox or IE
Volleys well gone Sam. Hi
Oh. I just spotted the question, and was thinking about it so missed the poof. hi backatcha.
Good afternoon. I'm curious, Samantha, what you use the different browsers for.
why do you use so many Sam?
Hi Mudd
Part of it's to keep different accounts straight; I have one browser, for example, that is logged into one LJ account and a Flickr account that I keep separate; that's for the photo blog, and keeps me from having to log in and out of different web apps.
My husband uses Firefox by choice but some sites he has to visit for work only display correctly in IE.
So, you know, boring stuff. :)
pps sorry. I am chatting to my friend
Back later take care
I had one site that wouldn't display in Firefox for about 6 mths. Latest FF update has corrected that though
Yeah, I also do some web design, and looking at things in different browsers is kinda crucial to the process; they all have their own display quirks
good morning everybody
morning everyone, snow OK to travel, road closed *sigh*
Rubyfoo - what breed is your pretty pup ?
Hello
hi Ruby, Katie & BR
she's a shaded-blone chow chow from canada
blonde*
hy lynxx
Beautiful
hi br
oh Ruby, Ruby is beautiful!
thank you and her heart is even more lovely
a 75 pound pup is going to be a large adult
I think she weighs around 80 but her brother, Max, also a chow, weighs a little less.
God in Heaven . . . that little thing is 75lbs ?
chows are very specifically male- or female- looking; the males have much narrowed hips
How old is she, and what will she weigh when full grown ?
she's full-grown and is 7 this month; Max will be 6 in February. He's autistic and is on Prozac for it, but holds his own in the household, just has to be hand-fed and can't leave the property
When I clicked on your profile, to see the picture, my first thought was a lion cub , , , I think I need glasses.
what problems does Max have Ruby
she looks a lot like a lion and acts like a cat, stubborn, disobedient, but takes care of her brother, which is nice
How did you determine Max is autistic?
when he arrived here, at 4 months, he was totally remote, couldn't make eye contact, didn't like to be touched -- all the classic symptoms of autism. I read Temple Grandin and the whole thing jibed and I got him a scrip for Prozac, and he's come a long way. He remains afraid of his food bowl and re-discoveres snow, every morning.
but he lets me pet him not, licks and sniffs my head (only if I look away) and interacts well with Ruby who opens doors for him and wakes us if he needs to go out
the vets never heard of autism in dogs
now, not not*
Quite amazing
How interesting. Good on you for following through on his issues
the breeder would have taken him back, but she would have put him down. He is lucky to be with us because we have all the time in th world for him and a safe garden. I think, however, that inbreeding chows for black, results in congenital defects.
Do tell Ata and Haz, I am sure they would be very interested
BBL
ata is the one who got ruby's pic up for me, she has a chow who closely resembles my ruby
Inbreeding is to blame for many illsss. We haad a friend who bred Lavender Sealpoint siamese cats - We got one, who lost his points at approx six months, which didn't matter to us since we weren't breeding, but poor Mouse had so many problems - he'd fall over if he closed his eyes was about the least of his problems.
with chows, this Canadian kennel breeds for beauty and disposition, but we had a little black girl, Cleopatra du Lac (black queen of the Nile lol) who died of a congenital heart defect at 2!
and all of our 5 dogs have been related to some grand champions, but we don't show them or breed them
clue please ha 6,33
that's sad about Mouse, but I'll bet you loved him all the more. That's how my husband feels about Max
You know how all little things react when they first see their reflection - he was that way all his life, sometimeshissing, but often crying at this strange cat (did he know it was a cat? the only other cat in his world was tabby-colored) And he didn't know how to clean himse;f: Tabby would clean his paws and whiskers, and scoop the sand after Mouse used the box.
that is very sad, but Tabby seemed to have stepped up. They are so instinctively good-hearted
He tolerated me, because I held the can-opener, but he really loved my husband, who rather ignored him, but Mouse would sit close to him, almost burrowing under his legs to find his safe place. Tabby was my baby.
that's like here with ours, Max stays near my husband, safe and upstairs while Ruby is mine, owns my heart, and always has to know where I am
it is impossible to imagine life without animals
HEllo. Been reading the Chog. My cats are my universe
Speaking of babies, Tabby taught my daughter to walk. By the time DD was born, Tabby was about 20lbs, and DD would grasp his tail in her right hand, and his ear in her left hand, aand off they'd go. World's best babysitter. after an initial bout of jealosy.
do you have photos? that is just too cute!
45 yars ago, so only snapshots. Perhaps DD can figure out how to put them into my computer.
ruby is my best friend!
Going to enroll my computer in remedial spelling class.
my son is 46, but I only had cats when he was around 5, he too is a computer expert, not like his old mom
Ruby my friend is a dog trainer and all 3 of her dogs are pedigrees and all rescues
Yay - just noticed the time: I am officially 73 years old.
Happy Birthday Christine
rescue dogs are the best! my husband is too much of a snob to every get one, however
happy birthday!!!!
Ruby al her dogs are pedigrees and it seems you sort of have a rescue yourself
I have to go, will be back a little later
Thank you,
certainly, in the sense of his having been unacceptable to most people, but he still has that chow magnificence and "cachet" LOL
Later Ruby
bye
Bye for now, Rubyfoo
I must depart for the kitchen. SOrry to leave you Christine its 730pm here and it is most certainly past tea time
Mud - did you ever work out ha 6/33?
Does anybody have a clue for ha6/33?
Got it!! fireworks
Nobody's talking to me so everyone seems to be asleep. I'll say goodbye to anyone out there.
bye anike
I'm back, had to get dressed
ho, bo, how are you doing?
I still don't have ha6!!!
ha6 - a singular Mr Christian Anderson, one letter for a personal pronoun, first two letters of the country famed for rugby and male voice choirs.
or much else, for that matter!
Good morning/evening all.
ty haz but what kind of word is that??
It looks Japanese or something, if you click on the ? beside it in your word list, you get directed to the dictionary definition.
Japanese terracotta model, it seems.
terra-cotta figurine! that's pretty obscure!
Nothing is too obscure for this game. Think of it as a learning experience!
last night everybody helped me figure out the name of a fruit that my husband bought for me, insisting that it was a mango. It was a sweet pitaya, subtle, but not bad, and very beautiful. This is such a smart group!
I know, there's usually someone around who knows the answer or who knows how to find out.
I think there are a great many of us who enjoy finding out new things.
3 people got it right away, just from my verbal description
my fav fruit is mangosteen, but they are very small and very expensive and only can get aroung qaugust for a few weeks
There you are, your description must have been good to start with.
and should not type left handed what a mess :p
Hello, Arisha, not a fruit I've ever heard about.
where are you arisha? We live in a very conservative area for food, but there is a wonderful, large, fruit vegetable market that caters to our very small African and Asian population -- and to us, lol
I've just googled it - it looks very exotic!
is lovely, but the flesh is not much compared to the hard outer skin, so price wise is not good
australia
it's a spectacularly beautiful thing, bright magenta with yellow-green tips, looks like a grenade, and is related to cactus
my husband kept insisting it was a mango, but he is both very stubborn and not at all scientific of mind
love them, wish i could grow here, i bought one for one of my birds, but now if i can get m we go halves
what does a nelliekelley look like, arisha?
I've heard of them growing in New Zealand
never heard of them
hi everyone
hi andree
hi andree
Hello, Andree.
it's evidently a variety of passionfruit
back in a couple of mins
sure its not a fijoa
ned kelly is a passionfruit, black skin
they told me it was nelliekelley because that's my name; my friends must have been pulling my leg!
does anybody else find this grid difficult, or is it just dullard me?
no they were not
Nellie kellie is the spelling, just went out and looked at label
ruby, it's actually not too bad in terms of babble grids. There are quite a few words that have appeared before - not a lot of help to you since you are fairly new, that's the only problem.
nellie kelly im getting every thibg wrong tonight
hopefully, I'll improve with time (and age -- lol -- not!)
The main thing is that you're enjoying yourself, ruby.
I've never had a passionfruit; I'll bet they have them in the exotic-fruit market
are you serious ruby /
but I feel really stupid after bein gpretty good at scrabble blitz!
about feeling stupid or never having a passion fruit, arisha? lol
you will have good days and bad, don't worry about it, long as you are enjoying playing
never had a passionfruit, hard to believe
fruit
Don't feel stupid! Many of the words are only ever used here and when you've been doing babble for a while they nearly become second nature. My knowledge of Welsh words has increased greatly over the years.
and the chat here is wonderful!
we are so spoilt here with fruit hrer
here too
Yes, the chat can be good fun.
yes we are andree, we don't realise how lucky we are
I grow fruit in the summer but then it's a long winter
just eaten with a spoon or over a pavlova its deliscious
We can get passionfruit over here, but it's considered pretty exotic. We're getting more and more new things to try.
what's a pavlova?
probably expesive then haz?
fortunately, I make a lot of jam and eat that all winter
merigue
oooh, you're making me hungry
with cream and fruit on top
oh my
australias favourite dessert
It's a meringue dessert, named after Pavlova the ballerina. A basic meringue mixture with the addition of vinegar and cornflour, baked slowly, then served with whipped cream and fruit.
It's pretty popular in Britain as well.
Morning all........Haz have you been to bed?
Good morning, Flask, yes, I've had a good night's sleep, don't worry!
its a great option for a family celebration because unlike some desserts the kids will eat it too
hi flask
you were here last night when I went off.....and you're still here.....
don't get me wrong.....am not complaining at all...its nice to see you here...
I know - it's unusual for me to be on in the evening, but the chat was good and I enjoyed the chance to clue a bit. I haven't been here all night, honestly.
Hello all
Hello, lynxxx.
hi lynxx
Hi lynxxx!
hi lynxxx
Just went out and checked the garden, lots if stuff pretty burnt or shrivelled...all a bit sad. Still 39 here
Will they recover, given time, lynxxx?
The plant will live, but lose the leaves. I have one of those very large Strezlecki's - given they are Sth African I am surprised the leaves shrivelled up. The new leaves are now about a metre accross
i heard about the temperatures you are having lynxxx, glad its cooler here, about 26 today and 30 yesterday
A metre? Goodness, the plant must be huge. Is that a bird of paradise flower?
i love those lynxxx, hope they recover
No, just looked up, it's streltizia I'm thinking of.
Yes, its the one with the large grey/purple flowers. they grow to about 30 feet. Will be a good shade plant and I adore the flowers (I must have spelled it wrong)
oops me too
Bird of Paradise is correct
I've seen them growing in Africa, they're pretty spectacular, aren't they?
Amazing - stunning to draw. I have a couple of the smaller orange ones but can't wait for the big one to get to its full height
well if they reach full height they will be a beautiful sight
lost all my pansies and strawberries from the heat
I assume you're not allowed to water gardens, or can you do it in a limited way?
hi Arisha
just went out to water, still like walking into a wall of heat when you open the door
what state are you in arisha
i use grey water
Twice a week only - between 6 and 8 in the morning
vic
And are there penalties for disobedience or do people conform pretty well?
you can get fined
'cept if you are like Arisha...or if you bucket washing water like I sometimes do
we can water before 10am and after 5pm daily, our restrictions were lifted about 6 months ago
It's just so interesting to hear about how different communities cope because of weather conditions. I only remember water restrictions here once, in the hot summer of 1976.
many people have put in water tanks which ofcourse the can use any time
People conform here, we are all vert sensitive to water use and any wastage
i use the water i get while shower heats up to fill fish tank and aninal water, i use washing machine to wter the lawn, and grey shower water for pot plants, have not used hose in 5 years. i try to be good
Excellent Arisha!
i lived in central australia for 3 yers so learnt there to be careful
That takes some dedication, Arisha, but I suppose it's in your own interests to be careful.
i do to arisha but do give my veg garden a drink almost daily, although i don't know why i bother the possums eat most of what i grow
you can catch alot of clean water while shower is comming though
so true
and my typing has not improved tonight :p
looking for no6 please
no6 - no plus a word for smart, clever.
Or maybe more knowing about life than anything.
thx haz
You're welcome.
18 left, will finish tomorrow, I had better have some dinner, bye all happy babbling
Bye, Andree.
Haz - did you read in the chat about RubyFoos boy dog - very interesting
bye Andree
I did, lynxxx.
clue for ai7 please???
There must be some sort of neurological condition going on, but it's good that they're coping with it.
ai7 - in terms of what we breathe might be a definition, Flask.
ai7 compound - careful about what you breathe
Or what we breathe plus that ending for the no6.
oh aye!....thanx!
You're welcome. That ending appears more often than you'd imagine.
Okay, on second thoughts, not that often. ma7 is another example.
I was just wondering about that!
Right, time I was getting on with the day. Lovely sound outside, cars sloshing through wet rather than skidding on ice.
bye Haz, that sounds better
Have a good day/evening and I'll see you later or tomorrow. Bye!
*gone*
I no its wonderful......greenery is back!!
bye Haz!
Morning Babblers
Morning Norma!
hi Norma
Hi lynxx n Flask how are things with you
ok Norma....yourself?
Very hot here Norma. Have you had the snow?
Fine thanks Flask... feeling stir crazy .... haven't been out for over a week with the weather as I damaged my foot in October and still struggling to walk properly... so didn't risk walking in the snow ... can we have some of your sun lynxxx lol
ugh, hope you can get some fresh air soon Norma
Will do soon going to the Domincan Republic for two weeks end of the month .... can't wait
Sounds wonderful Norma......hope you enjoy!
Thanks
nice!
two hours ago I asked for a clue for ha 6,33. Then I got called away and do not know if anyone replied. ty if you did, but I still am in need of a clue.
I just got back, it is a dopey Japanese word
Um, that does not really help me, Ruby. Sorry ....
a nasty word to clue - ha & opp of out (reversed) and make peace not **r
*** Christian Andersen, without the ess, then personal pronoun, then part of a baby's cry
:-) ty Lynxxx and Ruby.
It does sound Japanese, doesn't it?
how dumb is that? and then I looked up the meaning
it is really cold here, minus 6C, but sunny and beautiful otherwise, from behind the glass
with fires going!
38.3 here, 9.30 at night, keep waiting for it to drop!
should I fedex you some snow>
we have plenty to share
You love that snow! where are you from originally Ruby?
Whereabouts in France are you ruby ???
originally from NY, then lived in Miami for a long time, then retired here to the mountains
I used to ski, but no more
very near to Annecy (look out at the lake), between Lyon and Geneva.
You sound extremely happy so you have chosen very well
that's the good part of it.... won't go into the whiny parts
Sounds very nice... beautiful in the summer
and a very long spring, which is my favorite. It's my first garden and is really beautiful after 11 years of tweaking.
Wherever you live you can find whiny parts but you need to look at the big picture and the picture you are painting sounds gorgeous
I could whine about that bottom W
I designed it from books and made a lot of mistakes, but I have fruit and flowers galore. If you want to see, look in my profile and join me in facebook where I have photos
I just whine about my husband....
I have ten little w words, but you must have them too
What is your name on facebook ruby ??
nancy kelley but there are many, you will need my e-mail: nelliekelley50@yahoo.com
lol, I have you planted in my backyard Ruby
and yours, norma?
lol, lynxxx!
will poke you later ... I am on as Norma Evans email n.ee@sky.com
I'm sure your garden is much more exotic, lynxx, mine is roses and tulips and peonies and buddliea
tks, norma, will poke you, too lol
like an English garden via Martha Stewart, very limited colors, not like a French garden at all
Certainly not as pretty Ruby, I have concentrated more on greenery
I worked with color but made mistakes with the shrubbery I used for punctuation and for winter interest; those cute tiny shrubs turned into monsters
I have sent you a request ruby ... email is not the one given it is n.evans1945@yahoo.com
I have to go make lunch for long-suffering husband, will see you guys after!
ty rubyfoo for the 6 ha clue..was stumped but thnx to you...fireworks! Chiao
Congrats Dueces
Good soil then Ruby...we have very sandy soil, black dust really. Near a beach and basically black sand
Thnx Norma
Congrats Dueces
TY lynxxx
31 degrees here in South Florida...even the tourists were not in the water the past few days.
I heard, but its changing in another week?
I saw in the papers that it is the coldest spell in Florida for years... we went in February a few years ago and it was freezing then ... and as usual being a tourist we had no warm clothes lol
cold for the next 4 -5 days then a warming trend. Nice change from the sweltering summer.
remind me never to drive in snow again!
yeah, it was supposed to get down to 25 this morning. all the neighbors have bundled up their bushes to protect them from freezing
hi Ata. you OK? car in one piece
good luck all...
yes and yes, but barely!
What did you do Ata ???
Tea?
tried to take the dog for a walk LOL
thanks Dueces
just horribly slippy and slidey and imposiible to reverse half the time
In the car???
and I have tea :) all the roads round here are fine now. except our drive LOL
I am sure she won't mind walking locally
I needed supplies anyway. Nearly running out of milk!
now, now, read my icon and sit back and breathe deeply - all over now
hmmm wonder where our snow chains are! lol I'm fine, just glad to be back indoors!
so now an hour or so of babble and dc's food word game
Just passing through - Ata, glad you're home safely. I've thought of a cryptic Brit clue for no6/30 - when Eric Morcambe worked alone.
good one!
very good
Thank you! It'll not mean a thing to the Americans, mind you.
could you do a clue for ha6
well never mind :)
ha6 - a singular Mr Christian Anderson, a personal pronoun (1 letter) and first letters of the land of rugby and male voice choirs.
not come across that one before - thanks haz
don't you use that word everyday, chris??
"any of the terra-cotta models of people, animals, and houses from the Yayoi period of Japanese culture"
You're welcome - Japanese terracotta figures apparently.
just looked it up - must try harder ata!
I will look at all terracotta pots from now on and wonder aloud if they are ha6.
Okay, if no other clues are required, I must get on with the day. How are the daleks, Ata?
I think I'm 3/4 done with teh tiles of doom
then I can start all over again with a second layer of colour. joy!
Excellent! The end is nigh, said in a non-gloomy way.
yes. I can see an endpoint now, even if it's a few days off
That's good.
Are you getting paid for this? Focus on what you can do with the money.....
no! unfortunately not. it was just a "I know what I can do!" one day idea that kind of snowballed
but I know enough Dr Who fans that I might be able to sell it
Oh yes, you can depend on the fans. They'll be fighting over it.
hopefully!
I can sell it to FM, she's got tonnes of money
I know! She's loaded.
It's interesting knowing a multi-millionairess, isn't it?
but I really do know a few dalek fanatics, so if I decide I want to sell it, I probably can do, which is nice
Kind of like knowing Ivana Trump but without the silliness.
why isn't she chartering a plane to fly you over here for a special weekend?
That's the thing with multi-milliionairesses, they look after their money. It's probably all in offshore investments and she spends her days yellling 'Sell, sell, sell, or buy buy buy to her long-suffering accountant.
Meanwhile, I'll just have to depend on Aer Lingus to get me across.
probably. she can't even be bothered to offer tea any more
do you eat spiced beef for your christmases, Haz?
changing the subject randomly!
Is there car ferry from Ireland?
"Spiced beef is a cured and salted joint of round, topside, or silverside, traditionally served at Christmas in Ireland. It is a form of salt beef, cured with spices and saltpetre, intended to be boiled or broiled in Guinness or a similar stout, and then optionally roasted for a period after."
I know. She's forgetting her manners now that she's rolling in it.
not sure that adding saltpetre to beef is really a good culinary move!
There is, lynxxx, mostly from Belfast or Larne to Stranraer or Cairnyan in Scotland, but then you'd have to drive through England. Or there are probably ferries from Dublin as well.
there are ferries to north and south wales from dublin
I've never heard of spiced beef being served over here at Christmas, it's maybe more popular down south.
Hello everyone!
Hello, Brookie.
hi Brookie
am deeply concerned about Irish people exploding from the saltpetre
hey, brookie -- so can you actually modify a court transcript??
Hi Haz, lynxxx
(morning, all!)
It has dropped 1 degree in the last hour, I am getting cranky
It hasn't featured in many news bulletins, Ata, so the risk may be small.
hi Une
Think of your icon, lynxxx, keep calm and carry on.
you have to admit, it sounds awful!
hey, lynxxx -- sympathies on your heatedness!
It does sound awful, Ata, there's no doubt.
hi une! hi brookie!
Hello, une.
oh, I forgot about that, sorry
will have to ask Soodle about it
Hi Une! Can't exactly modify it... a lot of it is correcting transcription errors, but I do have to make the punctuation as correct as possible for everything, even if the sentence is non-sensical.
I think saltpeter is a usual ingredient in corned or pickled meats
Do they transcribe every 'I was like, he was like, like, like, I was like 'wow'?
is it really? goodness!
Or sometimes you have to figure out what you think the person is trying to convey, as the "wrong" punctuation can convey a different meaning than intended.
Yes, Haz, I have to keep every word. It drives me insane.
Yes, Haz, I have to keep every word. It drives me insane.
what if someone has Tourettes?
However, if an attorney stumbles, we are allowed to ignore it.
I'm sure!
sounds like a good way for a clever attorney to jump in and declare a mistrial or reasonable doubt!
Not to be unsympathetic, but it would be fun to transcribe someone with that syndrome.
brookie!
not often you'd get to swear madly in court transripts :)
The lawyers are the ones who hire the transcriptionists, and they want to look good in the transcripts.
i'm sure!
Interesting - saltpeter is from latin salt of rock
(evil grin re: tourettes)
Transcriptionists would get a lot of babble points.
But at 17 letters it would be too long. Darn!
I'd be at the top of the Village Elders list if that were possible, Haz! :-)
Nm, I see what you were saying.
So, are the transcriptionists the one you see on films or RV pressing away at a funny machine?
How would it be too long? Is there a letter limit?
I mean, below 25 letters?
Yes, according to word stats only up to 13 letters.
did anyone watch the segment on TV last nite where they interviewed the guys who've written a new book, Game Change?
Yes, Haz. And it's a funny machine indeed.
What's Game Change?
Has the machine changed through time or is it still the same as ever it was?
guess that makes sense when you think about it, lyn. so saltpetre really = rock salt!
Amazing . . . at the beginning of the vice presidential debate, Sarah Palin asked Biden if she could call him Joe, not to be chummy, but because in the prep with her handlers, she kept calling him "O'Biden"!! LOL
I think it's the same machine, but they've progressed as far as what type of disc you can put in it to capture the transcription electronically.
which makes it seem far more innocent Ata, I can enjoy my corned beef
and one of the things they had to teach her at the beginning of her candidacy when they realized the massive void in her knowledge of world history and policy was why there's a North and South Korea!
yes :) I would hate to be always worried about corned beef!
That's funny, Une!
you mean she'd actually heard of Korea?
:-D
ata LOL!
That makes sense, Brookie.
could she see it from Alaska?
:-D
There was an interesting programme on here the other night, following the Obama campaign.
Who ever selected her as a candidate must be still kicking themselves for being so stupid, she is a joke worldwide
haz, did you see the HBO documentary a couple of months ago about the Obama campaign?
Yes, bad publicity is better than no publicity.
That may well have been the one that was on, Une, lots of access to behind the scenes, following him around the various states etc.
good morning. The truly frightening thing is that a lot of people voted for her and that she is being serioudly discussed as the potential presidential candidate for 2012.
yes, that must have been it -- VERY interesting
Good morning, Eva!
hi Eva
That's democracy. People have a choice to vote for whom they wish.
i know, eva -- and she's coming HERE in a couple of weeks -- aacckk!!
morning lynxx and brookie
and a lot of people still love her, somehow
I honestly get frightened that people seem so unwilling to see that others have a point of view, even if you don't agree with them.
democracy works a lot better when voters are actually informed and educated
Eva, that's patronising. Lots of republicans are informed and educated, surely?
doesn't it help when the ppl you're voting for are informed and educated too? :P
absolutely Haz! But the majority of voters for either party are voting for highly irrational reasons,
there are informed and uninformed folks in both of the major parties.
And I don't think it's patronizing to be in awe of someone who would consider Palin to be presidential material
haz, unfortunately, our basic news outlets limit themselves to soundbites that can be sooo misleading and folks don't make the effort to dig in and really get to a deeper level of information
and a lot of people still vote on principle. I know at least a few people who refused to vote for Obama because he's black
I agree, but my impressions, gained from listening to debates and discussions on this chat log, are that democrats view all republicans as being stupid. There's an awful lot of disparagement that goes on.
and people are, for good reasons, frightened, and wanting to be saved, and often more drawn to simplistic answers and those who give them, in a world where things are not simple at all.
That applies perfectly to religion.
But that could be said for Obama. 'Yes we can' sounds wonderful. Set it against world circumstances etc and it trips off the tongue less comfortably.
Ata, one of my mom's caregivers voted for him "in spite of herself" -- she told me "I'm from Missisippi and I just can't vote for a ni****" --then later changed her mind
Things get quite heated and dumb on both sides Haz - but also having had Bush as president for 8 years can make people pretty bitter.
a tiny glimmer of hope
my best friend's family refused to vote for him - Tennessee outback life ...
indeed, eva!!!
Ata, Tennesseans didn't even vote for Gore and he's a local boy!
and they all love Sarah Palin cos shes cute
and a ROGUE!
and shoots things
I understand that, Eva, but you do still have to recognise that some people, for whatever reason, still think well of Bush. Democracy is a demanding thing, it's accepting sometimes what you don't want because the majority of other people do.
and a maverick
democracy is only easy when you agreee with the ppl in charge
never misunderestimate the Bush fans
I like to think that, like driving, voting would work better with license tests. (Testing reasoning skills, basic civics/history knowledge, etc. Nothing biased toward political opinion.)
sooooo true, gremlinn!
Haz, I do understand that. And I also think that not everything is relative or acceptable. That a certain level of compassion, insight, ability to see many points of view, openness to new information, maturity, etc are necessary qualities for a world leader.
but I'd rather just have someone *competent* in charge whether I agree with their absolute views or not
for example I wouldn't trust gordon brown to run an orgy in a whorehouse, to be impolite
ha! that shut you all up :):)
LOL!!
never heard that one before Ata.
Anyway, this isn't getting my work done. I only looked in for a couple of minutes and here I am, working hard to keep my diplomatic accreditation.
How is the snow situation over there? Is everyone safe? (Switching to the weather....) How many inches of snow have actually fallen in the UK?
It's thawing here at the minute, although we've had some more snow flurries this morning. It won't lie, hopefully.
on US news last nite I think they said it had started melting in UK . . . but was refreezing at nite
thawing *hopefully*
Our front lawn resembles a quagmire.
It's very hard to tell from here how much there's been a huge amount of snow and how much is that it is happening in areas not used to dealing with snow at all.
we've got about a foot in the fields and 6" on driveways etc etc
which is a *lot* for here
that would be a lot here too, ata!
lyn, are you doing DC's food game?
Off I go, back later, enjoy the grid!
okay-not considered so much here. Over a foot in a single storm starts to become news here. We generally mount up 3 feet or more over the winter.
*gone*
Yes...its not as interesting as the word one
bye Haz
what's the food game?
I'm puzzling on the pepper link that has 2 normal dots and a very light dot
not sure what that is meaning
no help here, wondered too
well I'll let you know if I work it out!
i bet it's dr.
morning, hursh!
is she good or what!
you're right. that's ridiculous
dr. isn't a correct abbreviation
pre-7 AM isn't morning, it's still night, in my book, lol
did you speak to your sister, smurshy?
http://funny-farm.appspot.com/game/lin x - Eva, link for word game, change linx to food for the food game
no, she said i could call at a certain time and when i did she didn't answer! sent her a fb msg asking when was a good time to talk today.
ata, what do you mean dr. isn't a correct abbreviation?
gah! well I hope you get to talk to her today :)
because you don't need a . after dr, officially
In US English, you use the period.
oh, and i just looked at the logo and there isn't one, so you're really really right
because the shortening isn't at the end of the word, it's in the middle
Shortening applies to where apostrophes go.
And I guess it doesn't apply to title abbreviations.
Or it'd be something weird like D'r.
I had that one drilled into me during my PhD lol. It's Dr not Dr. It's Dr not Dr. etc etc etc
but we do Mr.
I always thought it was British English that would use "Dr" without the period.
but you shouldn't, very officially
Mr. is a change to the very official proper English rules
yeah, i'm not sure the rule is the same in the US, i never heard that.
In the US, we always put the period after abbreviated titles.
you weird americans
Indeed.
mavericks *she said mischievously, having read the political chat*
Dr Pepper understands though:P
ma 7/48 please
male + smart
well i am happy to be informed of the british practice at any rate.
I think that it's really the very grammatically-correct, old fashioned practice, unfortunately. I just got taught all my picky grammar points by academics, who generally live in the middle ages
but I like it, it makes sense to me
but in the middle ages they were totally inconsistent about everything, lol
well, ok, 1920s :)
h
hello again, ate indecent brioche with butter for lunch! bad nel
mmmm
husband bought me 3 more PITAYAS this morning now that I hit him with one and convinced him it isn't a mango, "cited my brilliant babble friends"
I don't get that ma clue
who is that beautiful cat, ata?
looooool :D
that is my Silverclaw all wrapped up in a duvet
not a mango but it is a very beautiful looking fruit
and excellent for throwing at recalcitrant husbands!
ata, that's too funny -- I have pix of Snowball in the identical "pose"
we've got this old duvet thrown on a big chair, she creates little tunnels in it and snuggles up
awwwwww :)
ata, here's one -- i had just taken this towel out of the dryer LOL
do i spoil my babies? just a bit!
I spoil my dogs much more than I ever spoiled my son....
same here, ruby :-)
(re my daughter)
awwwwwwww! so adorable!
ma7, please....I am having a horrible game, only 50 words so far and I've played off and on for a couple of hours
hi all
male + Solomon was a wi** king
ardilla! hello!
hi Ardilla!
thank you so much!
hi ardilla
about to call the boyfriend at work and tell him that i'm dropping off his stuff on wed and expect my stuff to ready at that time :)
de rien, ruby
*to be ready
uh oh, maybe you could thwack him with a pitaya!
at that time :(
good morning friends - not really here yet, but did want to drop in to say a big hello (with hug) to ardilla...have been wondering how you are....
sounds like the BF thing didn't work out then, huh? I am so, so so sorry!
could be better...about to be single again soon
hi Trif
thx for the hug, trif
hello trif, first time I've seen you!
hello lynxx
think of it as a relieving new haircut, easier to maintain, not weighing you down
Have to run tertiare up to the bus in a few, but did want to send ardilla some lovin.....
I like what it says in "he's just not that into you..." NEVER waste the pretty on someone who doesn't appreciate it!
hey, trif!
amen!
bon matin, une!
i love that movie
Going to try sleeping, although at 36 C do not expect to succeed. Bye all
bye lynxx
ugh, lynxx, come up here - at 12 degrees Farenheit, you will soon be chilled!
bye lyn!
or here at -6C
I imagine BR and others in his environs take the prize in this contest - last I heard the wind chill in bismarck was -56. that is UNREAL
that's just insane
you walk outside and your nose drops off
here, it rarely gets colder than this or warmer than 30C
perfect climate
bus run - bbs!
debating whether to call or just show up with the stuff
try to avoid a scene
which is less stressful for you?
neither
Then I would call first or have someone call for you
and hello everyone
yes, I agree
hi annie!
could somebody else do the drop off and pick up?
i could call his work and he not be on shift = awkward
or i show up and he not be there = awkward
no one i trust
and what message could you leave?
Hi Atalante
hi annie
hi ruby
how about calling, arranging a time for the exchange and then sending a taxi?
best friend left friday...he swore to her and her hubby that he would call me about this...we hadn't talked in a month
not sure he would show up
what a pitayahead!
is it rainy at the moment? just go and leave the stuff on his doorstep
ata LOL!
I mean if its *not* raining!
but then he could do the same
tell me about...it would have be better if he had just broken up with me before my trip instead saying that he wanted to define the relationship but wanted me to keep in touch and that we were not breaking up
sounds like you are well rid of him!
hi, all
i rather not have to wait around for him to get around to return my key, HD, and shaker...he hasn't gotten around to calling...and i live 30 mins away
hi angel
I have a non-Babble question: If cats are kept solely indoors their whole lies, would they know how to find home if they ever got outside?
Youre well off without him. Call and tell him you want your things.
Hi all
depends how far away they got to
debating whether to call him now or in the morning
hi sally!
dunno angel
hi sally
call him now, get it over with
did your cat get out?
Don't think they would, Angel, unless they had walked away, then I think they would find their way back.
Hi Sally
nope. All three of them are safe and sound inside.
hi sally and angel
want me to call him?
I'll say I'm your mother!
I think they could manage as long as they could smell you / familiar smells. After that, nope
lol ruby
If he is a night person then call him now. Get it over with.
I can be very crisp and scary!!!

that im5/12 is what an am*** acid is if it's tied to a group that is not an acid. I guess that makes sense.
Judi, may I have a clue for the RH?

I know! And I'm worth LOTS of points!
hello again ata!
Hello, Ata.
wr? please
wr5 - being more wr*.
clue for the second am 5
It's a plural, Boo.
@haz ty ill monkey a bit
wr plus the last letters of a layer of wedding cake. t***
ty haz
@haz thx got it now
You're welcome.
the am 5, 12 can't have a plural? that's weird...
This IS babble.
it can trif, but it isn't in the grid today
and hi
It's an adjective ..

Hello, Dorens, how are you?
hello torgone, and yes, i suppose it is....
Heyas kids ..
hi haz, obviously sort of dim.. was looking ad something different. sorry for the mix up trif, i was wrong
Hello mari, ha6/33 - singular Mr Christian Anderson, a vowel/personal pronoun, first letters of the land of rugby and male voice choirs.
how is the weather in Cali today? We are enjoying a balmy 12 degrees, here in Mass
Hello, torgone.
we're up to 20 here in nj... just sweltering in comparison
woo! go on out in shorts dorens!
and how is great britian faring?
or even great britain!
It's getting warmer. It's still not warm but it's getting better.
you should SEE my rhododendron in the front yard! You could give flu injections with the needles, they are curled up so tight
Mid 70's today ..
Trifioso I tried the funny farm game last night and i am stuck
I can be packed and ready to go in 15 minutes, tor....
glad to hear that haz
great sea spray! It's one of those you have to sit and wait on...go back in a day or two, and new things will come to you. It's so fun!
Here in Colorado - people are calling in sick to lay out in their yards and catch rays in our steaming 31 degrees
LOL cad!
i hope so, i fried my brain last night lol
I think the whole point is not to rush, and to enjoy the humor of it.
there was definitely some humor and also some obvious that I should have thought of immediately
hello all, help with ma7 pls
I found the whole huge puzzle, eeeep http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi
I got one word because, in a fit of desperation I typed in the wildest thing I could think of, and it was right, and I laughed for about five minutes!
it's supposed to be big, ata
thanks a million Haz - that was like pulling teeth - didn't notice "plural letters of land of rugby !!
Ata, is that Sily in your icon
Glad you got it, mari.
yes, peri
ma7 - a male and a word associated with Solomen.
I got to a section called "poker stars" and I think now I'm stuck lol
You mean you don't know many poker stars?
ty Haz, new word for me
How can you be smug if you don't know poker stars?
Ata, Sily is looking very cute
oh, yes, that one I am stuck forever on. I think I shall have to go to wiki or something and read up on them
You're welcome, peri.
give me a quick run-down then :)
Is there a section on Star Wars?
oops - there's the bell! Back to work for me, friends! Chog later, I hope!
I'd probably know more about Star Wars than I do about poker stars.
hopefully
Bye, Trif.
*tiptoes into chog and give Ata a good, solid poke*
there's a bit Mr Haz could do - lots of words coming off "cow"
Yes, but there's no calving index or mastitis or anything. It's annoying!
Hello, EvaN!
I can't see any of the word off cow, and I'm sure they must be so obvious
bonjour, haz!
Bonjour, EvaN. How are you, still wafting round in clouds of romance?
but of course. :)
bbs
Bye peri.
shared some of my wedding "ideas" with the dear fiance. he told me to stop thinking. :)
Is he not going for the leaving for honeymoon in a hot air balloon?
It's bound to be cheaper than leasing a helicopter.
Eva I see you got engaged, congratulations
TY boobear. alas, no, haz -- he is what we call "heights-adverse"
OK... just went to that puzzle site... might be amusing.
He's my kind of man. I'm a bit height averse as well.
hmmm what connects the dalai lama, sheep and goats
a camel
I'll have to have a look.
*wonders if haz has the dalai lama, sheep and goats in her backyard...*
I think she has
lol good one Eva
The Dalai lama would have been pretty cold if he'd stayed in my backyard. He wears so little...
character forming
Goosebump inducing.
he probably shares the kennel
It'sa milk that connects them, which takes you back to cow
hes the dalai lama. surely he wouldnt be frightened off by a case of the shivers?
He never looks shivery, but maybe he wears thermal vests.
but milk doesn't connect to the dalai lama
You think he doesn't drink it in his tea?
llama connects to the Dalai.
"i will not eat until there is complete freedom and independence....golly, its chilly..."
There must be some connection with liberty and the wearing of little clothes. Look at Gandhi.
well that's silly!!
There are llama farms.
We used to have some near here.
yes, but the dalai lama -> llama
there should be vicunas too
clue for ha 4/6
ha4/6 - a pork product plus a vowel
My next door neighbor keeps llamas
llamas rock
I'm a bit confused by the horse/cow connection
ooo haven't got that one yet (just started it)
I have the bottom left completed and need one more for the cluckers on the top right.
Ata, wish you had never posted this site. :)
It was dc who started it. Blame him. At least FM's blame free this time.
bet FM told dc
Seain, if you are lurking, shame on you
but I have been sucked in by it! Hate it already :)
You've got KFC?
FM! Don't tell me you're part of this conspiracy?
got KFC but not the one off it
need just one more for the KFC section
FM!! see? she can be blamed, somehow
No for once I am not!
I have the two letter word down on the lower left of "bull", but not the one straight up from it.....aaaaaggggghhhhhhh
what website is this? i seem to have been out of the loop...
neither do I Samantha
http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi
same here Sam and it is driving me buggy.
nor me
http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi
BS Samantha
what how why?
whoa, I would never have gotten that one. Thanks Haz
BS, standing for 'male bovine droppings'
haz, I'm desperate enough to enter it
DEAR GOD I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING
You're welcome, Mom.
and it works - Haz to the rescue
Do I ever joke, Samantha?
I have no idea.
well then there should be cow patties too
ha6?
No, this lot can attest that I am always deadly serious
Is this up every day... a different puzzle, I mean?
ha6 - first letters of Mr Solo from Star Wars, a vowel, first letters of the capital of USA.
now I ahve Religions and Magicians as topics - am goin to stop there and get some food!
clue for ha 6 pls
Tom Cruise is in the religions section....
oh dear. this website is dangerous...
Just clued below, Boo.
cos he's nuts
It's not a different puzzle every day, mom, it just keeps getting bigger as you get connections to new sections.
ty Haz
I haven't figured out all the first section yet
oh dear. i think my brain is already empty of farm-related items...
thx haz
I see ... I have three blocks on my mini map
ions
sorry...pb
You're welcome.
anyone wanna merge games? (she asks hopefully) hehe
I don't mind to tell you what I have Eva
hey all...
Hello rolin.
i have just logged into this farm game..can someone tell me what it is about?
Hi Rolin
finally, 1/2 way, I can go to lickety
hi
it was only do the the wi4 & 5, which I am going to become because of this puzzle
I am trying to type one-handed, play two word games... all whilst eating spaghettios out of the pot I cooked them in, LOL.... who says I can't multitask?
hi all
Right, time I was heading to the kitchen to get some food underway. Have a good day and bye for now!
bye bye Haz, so good to see you
bye haz. hi jmc
oh, goodness, the dalai lama DOES show up in the next section over
rolin looking at the word in the center (white?) you find a related word such as paper and type it into the box
bye dear!
right rolin
Hello, jmc, just leaving, but enjoy the grid. Bye Mom! And remember, people, you've resisted the temptation to become addicted to one word game (babble) so you can resist this one.
then you find a word related to paper and type that until you find all the words -- think, btw, compound words
hi haz sorry to be so late that I have no time to chat with you
kina like that kevin bacon game, lol
Another day, jmc, bye for now. *gone*
bye haz
im doing the one called on the farm
*scowl* What connects barns and crops?
sorry rolin
do the number od dots correspond to the number of letters?
I think so rolin
oh jmc..any clues are welcome..lol
Wait, yes, they do, and when there's a space that indicates two separate words
cool..thats a help
I googled it rolin and it is the same principle
the dots do relate to the number of letters
Eva? Get your head out of the Funny Farm and come back
ok anyone have another brain they can spare please?
The tall thing next to the barn where crops are stored ..
I barely have one of my own but maybe I can help
oh, of course, thanks torgone
thanks Tor
so the on the farm one is different from the color one which is exclusively compound words
ohh, got a piece of machinery that you drive that attaches to the crops
I have nothing off the cow
mom, neither do I. It's weirdly hard, isn't it?
it is indeed
I'm amusing myself with the Subservient chicken in the meantime.
http://www.bk.com/en/us/campaigns/subs ervient-chicken.html
the game is missing a chog!
that would be helpful Mom
yes i wish the map games had chogs too
sorry mom, had to run to the loo. whats up?
lots of animals and then one of them takes you to religion
uh
lol. Was just wondering if you want the words that I have for the funny farm
mom -- if you click on "save game" it will give you a link that you can send me + we can merge games...
anyone want to help with the three that connect to cow... two words each... even one would be great, LOL.
i have a stupid question
ask away, and who wants to merga games with me?
go right ahead, Oodle. There is no such thing as a stupid question
about what are you people talking and what are you doing??
http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi This is what we are doing, Oodle
Oodle: http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi
don't ask oodle!
OK... I got one off of cow... the disease...
Afternoon all. I have come back from a swim, which was rather a mistake.
ok, I clicked save now what do I do
too cold for a swim Red
well, mom, you can email me your code
Yes, the pool is heated, but. it was too cold.
it should give you a link
samantha@michaelberz.net
how do you merge games sam?
sounds like a chilly thing to do red
email me your code, and I'll cut and paste
I thought of it as healthy, but it was really only tolerable for about 30 min.
ok I don't get it
ooh! i got one of the cow ones! its a saying/exclamation. think of a religious bovine.
I want it to take Denny Crane, LOL.
oh, so holy cow connects but sacred cow doesn't? I call shenanigans!
ty eva
I thought the same thing Sam!
Samantha it is on its way
OK... much to do... and playing two games now... not going to accomplish anything at this rate, LOL... bbl!
bye bye Mom
I am going to stick with my babble problems!
(she'll be back in 1/2 hour, you watch. She won't be able to stay away) lol
true true this sometimes occurs.
I read the directions but don,t know what the hell to do
just type random words in the box oodle
it's free association, oodle, type in words that associate with the words you see
Oodle, type in chicken
and then you can type in things related to chicken from there
I thought Haz was cluing the chicken section earlier but she was actually giving me a clue KFC
Could I please have a clue for the 8 please, and if it is a plural I will need a clue for the 7 please..
sorry Red, I don't have either of them
the eight is: r + what traditionally comes from pigs + what you smell with
It's because youa re too busy associating Chickens and Cows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Samantha, did you get my email?
I know it. lol
I'm telling you the grid is only barely in English today
boy did I come in at the wrong time today.
Well, a new one for me, thanks Samantha!
I just now did, Mon
Mom*
ok
And Mom, I was just kidding!
I know that Red
Did you type in Free Range" yet?
it isn't one, Red
ahhh too bad, thats what I associate with Chickens, that, and eggs and cholesterol.
mom -- send me the link you sent samantha?
li 6 and 7 please ?
need your email, Eva
M3, I don't habe it but I am now looking.
don't have those either M3, sorry
sam2979 at gmail dot com

Goodmorning all from the sauna
Hi Lynnxx, good morning from the ice chest.

TY Samantha and Mom :)
Are there cat sounds in this grid?
depends who she;s in there with
Hi Lynxxx
thanks Samantha, you had a bunch
you're welcome Eva
I'm spread out but not very concentrated. I've made it to a bunch of other squares, but I haven't filled up the ones I have very completely :(
Geez Samantha, this is great.
you gave me a ton, samantha!
(I feel so stoopid)
Heh. I start to see how very subjective it is though; I never, ever, would have entered "KFC" or "BS" on my own
oh, lordy, my dogs are trying to tunnel under the front door again. I've got to go; see y'all later *poof*
okay i have decided i cannot play two words games, work and talk to my sister on the phone all at the same time
bye bye Samantha, thanks again
KFC! lol
I think I will go work. bbl
lol Jmcnrick. I am having a rough time with the two games
Oodle, how are you doing?
evening all
well something has to give!
Hi Sprite
hi sprite!
How are you? It seems like ages since I have seen you
you guys having a good babble time?
Hi Sprite! ((hugs))
babble? what's that? we are playing http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi and using the chat log in babble to field clues
on the puzzle you mean?
hey lyn :) *hug right back*
I am going back and forth
on the funny farm Oodle
is it making more sense to you now?
seems like it is logical but then again
ooh! opened up the box directly under the religions...
smarty pants, Eva
how true Oodle
does the no 6 come of the no 4?
no + three **** men
lol
@ mom hehe thx
you're welcome M3
I think I will go and take a nap. My brain is fried.
{{Hugs}} to all of you. Good luck
BBL Going to find something minimal to wear, sponge down Stew and go for a very early morning walk
sleep well, Mom
bye Lynxxx
thanks {{Sprite}} bye for now
bye lyn, hope you can find some coolness
((((((sprite)))))) hello my dear! how are you? was about to run to the little girls room but will wait and chat if you won't be here long
hey all!
hi folks! just taking a quick break
hey feather! shouldn't you be, um,.... TEACHING????
hi stiddie! ***Hugs*** Not doing well, &*(&%$*(&% new meds are still more trouble than they are worth, grrr. Lovely to see you though! How are you doing?
hi feather
had to take the day off to take nick in to the dr's. he's a speckled boy! had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin he was on for his ear infection. head to toe and everything in between is spotted.
oh, I am so sorry to hear that. ((more hugs)) does tea help? tom made me lovely fresh ginger tea last week when I was feeling poorly.
aw poor boy!
tea always helps, mentally if not physically.
ginger tea. Now that is a great idea. Thanks for reminding me!
oh oh... our younger boy did that when he was about 3. actually started to go anaphylactic, but was okay. So he has a "no penicillin" alert on medical records. Hope Nick won't be as bad,
his palms, ears, even his privates. he seems to have a high tolerance for itching though, rarely scratches.
it's such a worry when our kids do things like get SICKER on medication!
no kidding! the doc said the ear infection has cleared up though, so we won't have to bother with switching to a new antibiotic right now.
how brave. Itching is so awful. I hope he will be better very very soon.
I know! And they should know better. Tsk.
thanks guys. so how does this grid look?
sprite, is your house staying warm enough? that is something else that makes being sick (or depressed like I get this time of year) worse. I am wearing a blanket and sitting on a heating pad to stay warm while I study today.
so far so good, over halfway in notime
not horrible feather, have been here 8 minutes and down t o85 words
i'm allergic to penicillin, come out in a rash too
1st ai? please
cool, i might reward myself by playing it later. right now i'm doing some cleaning while i have no little ones underfoot, and hoping nick takes a loooooong nap!
I don't have the list M3, but is it the wet precipitation without the R in front?
same here, stid, am absolutely addicted to my blankets. I am SO ready to feel better!
bbl!
minse
good plan feather. you have more discipline than I! LOL
oopps sorry
busted, mummy

io6/18 is io4 singular and the three w***men
oh oh, I think a little bird hit the back window. back in a few.
minza

the little bird is okay, or at least flew away.

mi5/20 cat sound
wtg stid!
miow
got the mi 5, not sure how! LOL
and sprite, I guess I missed you!
close pic, think woody allen's former leading lady (miss farrow) and add the boo-boo sound at the end
cats seem to have many dialects
I seem to have this invisible thing. How are you doing, red?
I am well, we are seeing slight warming. Big error in trying to swim today.
You Sprite?
too cold to swim?
no doubt, BR. *wondering if an icelandic cat would understand one from new zealand*
outside, yes. even with the heaters in the pool...
probably, stid. Body language should work fine
red, you get bonus points for trying to swim. not sure they offset the "duh" sign you are wearing... *wicked mama grin*
Well stid, they probably all speak the language of cat love.
I was not the only one! There was one other lady...in a wet suit.
I did my 30 min and then got out.
any clue for ha6?
lollll wet suit makes sense.
very very quickly.
finally got it - thanks stid
well, I hate to go, but 1/2 hour is about my limit for NOT studying today. *sigh* spritely, hope you feel a lot better soon. and red... many people around here wear a dry suit. keeps you warmer than a wet suit. (just a thought)
ha + not nephew but **ece + **it a minute!
i always see NBT and have never been able to figure out what it stands for!
(((Hugs and choclits for all))) see you-all again soon! *poof*

thanks BabbleRabble *thinking*
male sheep:r** ... + facial feature
I would call this a poopy game!
ah... ok red, I think I can guess the ending then...
brilliant clue. Thanks red and BabbleRabble, new word for me.
r + pork + what's in the middle of your face
BR's clue is more direct.

rubyfoo: but the good part is nobody is holding a gun at your head to make you play it
COngratulatiosn Sprite!

http://shygypsy.com/farm -- it is fun but frustrating
there is another one based on compound words -- but this one is a bit easier because there are other connections and if you misspell it will sometimes include it anyway
Anyone have any words in baseball yet?
clue for ha6/33 please its my last one.
the NY baseball team and a walk-off -----
ha+not nephew but **ice + **it a minute!
Tor ... Neil Diamond and Girl, You'll be a woman soon
now how is that for a stretch
got nothing on the magicians either
got some of the magicians
whatcha got?
did you get my clue oggy?
Ata, did you see the two I posted for Baseball? you too, Jmcnrick? Just checking
houdini, blaine, copperfield, penn & teller
It's not taking anything ..
not yet but thanks.
i got penn & teller but it did't like siegfried & roy :-(
Tor, I am wondering if you have to have some in place before it takes others. Because I know I typed in hot dog a ton of times and it wouldn't take it
you have to get the midle word to the right colour before it'll take stuff
torg try: homer
I tried that one too Jmcnrick
Tried it ..
ah, thanks Ata will remember that
I've tried every baseball related word i can think of ..
ooooh i didnot understand that then: NY; yankees and that opens it up
not *entriely* sure how that works but ...!
hello all. hey jmc and tor!
Hi everyone :) thanks for all the advice last night!
I think i have to connect from the word i have on the edge to the central word ..
jmc, please tell me to finish reading the last three pages in this book ... *sigh* I have no willpower (or won't-power) left.
in what FMitch sent in an email there is RObin Hood and Friar Tuck. I guess I have to guess the center word before anymore open up to me
oh oh, WHAT did you get into last night NB? *worried mama look*
There we go .. thanks jmc
jmc got it now, took a while to sink in, thanks thats me done.
OGGY!!!!! *faint*
oh not me, Stid! Leo fell down our stairs and concussed himself!
YAY oggy, btw. *re-faint*
now back to sewing. Bye again.
oh no! is Leo okay? *worrieder mama look*
hi everyone
hey andree!
bye mom...
*picking up book guiltily* *heavy sigh* reading about global economies is very depressing.
He's fine now :D sleepy and miffed at me for laughing at his confusion...I'm such a horrible boyfriend. He's sleeping now though :) his head is about two inches away from me so I can keep an eye on him!
stid, how are you and the rest of the babblers, long time now hear.
good. make sure you can rouse him, right? brain damage doesn't always manifest right away (personal experience)
I am well oggy, grad school SUX. not all the time, just when I have to deal with one of the teachers' pet peeves (every week).
I've woken him up, like, five times...he'll start getting annoyed soon. I checked that we were alright to let him sleep, should be fine now :) thanks for the concern!
how about you oggy? snowed in like the rest of the northern hemisphere?
okay. good. *stern mama look* and you know that if his pupils are different sizes you need to get him to a doctor, right? (that's when he's awake...) my boys have had a habit of falling out of, off of, and leaping from... for years. I have learned what to look for. Sort of.
been working shifts so dont get a lot of time for babble, we have had some snow and more due tomorrow but not that bad.
Thanks Stid, I'll keep an eye out. The best thing about babblers is that I can benefit from alllll the collective experience!
well at least you can get in to work. that's a good thing. ((hugs))
did you get him to hospital last night, NB?
going silent to finish this old dumb chapter. back in three to five minutes.
I did Stid, yeah...took a LONG time in ER...I haven't been asleep yet!
missing 2nd re6/21 , help please
Stid? I meant Ata!!
this is the effect of my sleep deprivation, huh..
re + Scrooge was stingy - a ****r
thx buff
at least they saw you eventually!
yeah, and I had a nice time there! looooads of people had fallen on the ice so we were sitting all huddled together trading stories and talking :)
what's the 6 straight under "on the farm"?
thats so nice NB usually visits to em entails long waits and boredom
it's a weird skill Andree. I could make a stone talk to me ;) no, everyone was really lovely and friendly. Some people had sent relatives home to bring blankets and pillows and stuff
it is a skill, my sister has it too
i wish i knew ata
glad to help oggy torg and whomever -- had to take a silly hotline call
hmmmmmmm
stiddie: go read!
i guess those of you who have so much of it don't want to hear i just found sn**
Ata and Jmcnrick ---- Farmer
anyone link NY with on the clock?
ty andree i hadn't fond that one yet!
*duh*
my husband could always make friends -- i just sit and glare at everyone ;-)
the last one for the chicken is the greasy chicken place lol
minute, jmc
back. reading done, half the notes for tomorrow's seminar are done. I need a break... and a choclit.
thanks ata
what is the 2 letters above
LOL oh dear! thanks for the icy word Andree!
LOL Jmc!
geez ata i use that expression ALL the time
hey jmc. thanks for supporting me in my studies. some days it's very hard to be a (middleaged) adult...
jmc, i found 14 of the farm words -- is that any good?
how did you DISCOVER this thing??
bonjour chere Une! comment ca va?
bonjour, stid :-)
{Une} hello, I think 14 is great
sounds good to me une
blame it all on DC
yep. seain definitely is being a bad influence on all of us. I was just lucky I couldn't get that game to work!
jmc, I just went to the funny farm game...how does it work? there are no instructions
did you find the religious leader in exile (not sure why he is down on the farm except the two ll version is a beast)
yep that is why
hello angelsong! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
you think of words connected with the word onthe farm such as type in farm animals you can think of
ooohhh, this started with DC?
hi angelsong, I have no idea what everyone is talking about
go here, andree: http://shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi
when you get into a new box you have to find a word between the word that opened the box and the word inthe center and get the center to turn green to put in random words again
only have 5 on the religious page -- bummer
Une, would you like me to send you what I have
so is there a beginning and an end? The farm page is the beginning and it expands from there?
oh oh.... that time the link worked for me. *sigh*
I liked the religious page
several of us combined this afternoon
oh oh Stid.
hello friends. DC infected me as well, and I, in turn, infected both Primo AND his lovely companera! That game is so fun!
how do you "combine"?
yes, Une
back in a couple... (maybe)
The poker stars page is KILLING me. Didn't know there were any!
you save and then send you link to a friend
you have any poker stars?
hi trif
no luck with voodoo, hoodoo, or santeria! LOL
go to save game and send me your email and I will send you what I have and you copy and paste my link in the merge box
what's a poker star??
I have pretty much all the poker stars
Plenty of poker stars, Jmc,
google helped :)
Une, that is another box
Amarillo Slim is a poker star
ooohhh, NAMES of poker stars! LOL
thanks br - will let you know!
I need one more that shoots off Cow
nope. didn't take.
i have to get the one connected with Jesus first
a query: is everything in the farm box alive, or do tools every show up?
I know that one, jmc - do you want it, or do you prefer to go it alone?
a machine you drive and a lot of other things show up stiddie
non animates as well, stid
tell me trif
are at least clue it
okay, thanks jmc. I'll give it another couple minutes, then get ready to head out. a stidkid has an optometrist appointment today. they HAD to get their father's eyes! *sigh*
chris ferguson
stid, i also have a farm bldg and a vehicle :-)
okay have found funny farm, see a grid and a spot to type "your guess" what am i guessing about?
2 farm buildings. well a building and a storage thing
was surprised none of the tools worked: broom, shovel, pitchfork, etc.
yep, have the storage thing as well
don't forget to put a purple dinosaur on your farm!!!
andree, farm-related words
tx trif!
andree you are guessing words related to a farm such as animals
ok, 17 farm words now . . .
trif, how in the world did you think to try the purple dinosaur??
I live with lots of kiddos....
poor andree - off she goes, the latest victim of the time sucking black hole that is "funny farm." Hope she fed the dog, the hubs, did her laundry and returned all calls, cuz she will be doing sweet FA until the Farm lets her loose!
hi everyone, any clue for the rh8?
mind you, I did find an AMAZING link the other day that had me in giant smiles for an hour, at my dazzling brilliance (ACK)
what's with the purple word in the middle?
okay, that is enough of that nonsense. I have to get going. ((((LBD)))) will be back in just a few to visit once I have everything ready to head out. *mini poof*
i have it open and haven't started as i only have 4 words left here
hey dawg!
hi stid, hi unea!
that is the theme of that particular square, une
rh8: r + cured meat + what you breathe with
wi4 move andree
bless, you une! NEVER would have monkeyed THAT!
but FYI i found http://www.poker-player-profiles.com/
thank you, that is so not a word!
firebirds!
hi lbd
whoo hoo lbd!
huzzah for lbd!!!!
yay ibd
hi jmc!
congrats, lbd!
ty ty ty
dinner guilt calls - back later to finish, hopefully....cheers, dears!
baseball and the purple dinosaur??
so the dinosaur takes you to the color which takes you to: magazines!
i miss my babble expert. :-(
bye trif
bye trif
so sad lbd :-(
the magazine page is where I entered my genius clue!!!
but baseball's in the middle with nothing connected to it . . .
you kids still playing the Funny Farm game?
i'm working on how to get from purple to magazines
how did you get to the magazine page??
which is what Trif?
i must be doing something very wrong . . .
no une, you have to guess a word that leads into baseball
Une, what word do you have on the margin?
last 2 wi5/28 and 6/45 please
from building that you keep animals in to the famous annoying dinosaur to the color of that dinosaur
let me know ata because i am really and truly stumped!
ok, i did that, jmc . . . do I need to try NAMES of magazines?
tor, on the magazine page, i have the color on the margin
that would be my guess but how you get from purple *sigh*
une try an easier one
how do i try an easier one? didn't know i had a choice
go back to farm then guess the mooing animal; then use it in an exclamation and that gets you to religion
i already have the mooing animal -- one of my first words . . .
thx for the rh8 Une
use the mooing animal in a common exclamation
ok, got the exclamation and the related religion
hi bo
hi jmc
back - ish now need to find and print out some readings for WEdnesday...
andree, did you find them?
hey, bo ;-)
so when did everyone start this insanity?
fireworks
god bless morewords
whoo hooo andree!
2 days ago and i am thoroughly confused
dc got us start two days ago
on a much harder one that i have barely pierced
congrats ANdree
what happens after you get all the farm words?
is it rainbow something?
torg i had an epiphany about baseball
33 pages of something that I know I have somewhere (but don't have time to look for since it isn't where I thought I put it)
okay now i will have a go at funny farm, with all this talk of baseball etc, i have a feeling its an american game that will beat me
YAY andree!
congrats, andree!
andree i am an avid baseball fan and it is beating me!
ata i thought purple prose which is a magazine but that didn't do it
ok, the purple link is STUPID
so how did you find it?
so all we have to do is figure out the word connected with cowboy and farmer
dc found it
very very flukily
jmc - it's the name of a film where people are made into food which people eat not knowing where it comes from
yes EvaN, they are. (we are, but I am leaving as soon as my print job is done).
soylent green?
what does that soylent green have to do with purple?
yep
strange farm, no shed , ducks, dam, pond
green and purple are complementary colors
soylent green is purple is another "pseudo" phrase from the film
i tried those too, andree! LOL
yet, andree, it has a two L beast
that's the best I can come up with!
how are goat and sheep related??
whooooo hoooooo Andree!
hello! thinking of goig to screening of the fim "pontypool" tonight
wool and milk joanne
yes, thanks for that Une -- just figured it out!
hi TO
cow-abunga, jmc?
what, stid??
in the puzzle jmc
hey, TO :-)
i am so not going to the funny farm game. i have enough problems with babble and polar bowler. lol
smart woman, LBD. well my print job is done, must punch holes and go get kid. *leaves in a flurry of letter tiles and farm animals* *Poof*
lol probably a good choice lbd
the two LL beast joanne
bye, stiddy! although i did find another word game called word scraper.
silverclaw just tried to turn my laptop off
the problem is that the funny farm needs a chog
has anyone seen or heard of this film?
did you feed silverclaw
subtle hint, Ata?
I've heard of Pontypool
she's had SO much food today, greedy monster
it's meant to be very good, I've seen litle bits of it
doesn't look like my cup of tea TO
well beats sitting in a room
i will be brave and just up and go
i bet you will like it TO -- it is suppose to be quite good
anyone get the two letter word directly connected with on the farm and before bull?
are the little dots the number of letters, if so what has 2 letters on a farm
an ox :)
the dots are the letters and a space means it's separate words
*duh*
thx ata, now its telling me the web page has expired
cow offspring giving me trouble
nooo!
have the crazy cow
what are you doing?
chicken all finished
Hellllloooooo Everyone!
hello red - keeping warm?
hi red

It is made of . . . . . .

*jumps up and down in excitement*
do you know ogden nash joanne?
this mags page is really hard!
no jmc
hmmm. apparently Silverclaw likes coconut milk. Not sure that's normal
my cats have always like coconut
really? wow. maybe its totally normal then!
there is a poem he wrote:
Dr. Doolittle, was on one I think
a one L lama is a priest
a two L llama is a beast
and you can bet your cat's pajama
there is no such thing as a three L Lllama
I am still searching for the off shoot of Cowboy that takes me to religion
sigh
god am i anal today
that's what i get for coming home
no, Joanne, you are not. This is not an easy task
did you find the one off the 2 L beast -- the one L priest in exile?
off spring from ll not
the priests one is difficult too
tw4 words
the one L priest is the guy from Tibet
the _____ L***
ohhh i give arm twisted and sore now
but what other famous preists are there? *ponders*
has to get dishes in dishwasher
ty for all clues see ya all tomorrow
nite nite
Father Ted!
apart from Father Ted!
but there aren't any spaces for other famous priests
I have precisely no idea if it appears - is this in the religions one?
just his religion
and father Jack!
yes, in the friars / priests one
and Dougal!
there is a square devoted to friars and priests????
Dougal is my favourite, he's so optimistic.
there is, jmc
I love Dougal
Anybody on the drugs square yet?
try pedophile
dave berrigan
phil berrigan
what on earth comes off Father Jack though!!
not yet torg
This has been hilarious today, reading back in the log as people struggle with both the grid and the funny farm thing.
glad you are having a good time haz :-P
are you all somewhere else, i am still struggling on the bloody farm, have some words that have nothing whatsoever to do with a farm!!
I'm staying pretty clear, I get too frustrated with the farm game. My mind doesn't work the same way as whoever set the puzzle.
the farm will take you to other squares
Andree, how are you? I have not seen you in a long time!
i have learned to be more flexible ever since i started working on the "impossible quiz"
It's not called the funny farm for nothing.
Haz, you are making me glad I decided one game was enough trouble.
fine red and you, i have been around but not a lot, having a day off so silly me have started this farm thing
andree if you look to the upper left you will see a series of boxes some of which are pink.
good luck with the game Andree...
if a box is not pink you can click on it and there will be another center word
yes jmc, most of mine are pink
pink ones you have not unlocked
haz you are a linear thinker -- which is a good thing
shouldn't i finish this one first jmc, which could be a while
with 28 left in the grid, I am going to the list...
i find going back and forth works for me
i don't know what others do
go red go!
62 left for me
1/2 way
hi folks - i see you are all hooked on the funny farm - I am stuck on the one dc seain linked us to the other day but it has different grids and seems to be a different kind of puzzle : http://funny-farm.appspot.com/game/lin x - the connections are based on compound words and phrases
Hi JBV!
hi jvb
hi red! hi andree! jmc! haz!
Has anybody got to the British bands yet?
Hello, JBV.
It leads off from the magicians.
i can only think of 2 magicians and neither fit and haven't finished the farm anyway
It's not just babblers who are hooked on the funny farm game, if you google funny farm, you get heartrending pleas for help and forums opened up for people to compare answers, give tips etc. This may be the result of a conspiracy to bring the English speaking world to a halt.
it's a good brain game, but diabolical without a chat log to go with it
I know, you're never quite all singing from the same hymn sheet.
i find the funny farm easier than the color one but am working on both of them
the babble chog is a god send for the funny farm
me too jmc
don't have the british bands yet haz
ha6/33 please
the funny magicians one of whom never speaks andree
You'll get to it....
ha+ not nephew but **ece + **it a minute!
anyone understand the 7:00 on "on the clock"?
Thanks jmcnrick
what jmc?
well, I say, thank goodness for babble, at least you know when you're finished and you get a few sparkly fireworks to celebrate !
yw rumple
yes red?
not to mention the friendly hints along the way
lol jbv
the community here is a god send for many reasons
Ahhh the question must have been about your cow game.
yes about the cow game red -- sorry
Oh no, its Ok, I just didnt understand!
if i were cleverer i would write my comments about my cow game in italics and then it would not be confusing
54 left here
We need a funny farm font.
Oh no, It's probably more fun this way!
exactly haz
Or, Funny Farm may need a chog.
i wish it did have a chog
but so few games have chogs
the chog in game may well be Dr. God's greatest contribution to mankind
(except they have them kinda in some of the xbox type of violent games my son plays)
You know though it took me almost a year before I asked for a clue in Chog.
If he were British, we'd be nominating Dr-God for a knighthood.
As it is, does he need to be nominated for a Nobel Prize?
here! here!
haz -- Fm has the dang thing nearly figured out! only 2 squares that are "undiscovered" and many squares are almost complete...
but you have to have won a nobel prize to nominate someone
That FM. Honestly!
FM is amazing
I didn't know that, jmc.
eva do you know that the drill is on the 7:00 on the "on the clock" box?
i can send my link to anyone who is interested...
well that is at least true for the peace prize since some of my friends help the American Friends Service Committee make nominations
the drill?
the problem with that eva, is that I don't want all the words
do you know what to do with the 7:00 on the "on the clock" square?
i would like some clues like and an occasional word like in babbleland
no. i see there is one, but its not greened out like the others...
ma7/48 please?
sorry rumple i don't have it
taking a break for dinner - see you later - good luck with all the games you're playing!
ma5/12 also?
bye jbv
Male plus smart rumple ( smart = A **** owl)
ma5/12 first ma
Bye JBV!
Bye, JBV.
ma 5/12 is the main house
or a member of an American "Secret Society"
Oh oh no thats the wrong ma5. Ignore me.
the first ma 5, 12 is the active phase of a person with Bipolar disorder.
ty red
one more: spanish for hands
jmc -- do you know the deal with the 7:00?
nope i was hoping you are FM had figured it out
ooooo comic books!
i just figured it out -- you type it
darn i am stuck with magazines! so much to find when i get home
type what?
weird. it was already filled in on mine, but not green. typed it again + now its green.
okay i am heading home but suspect i will be back on line the second i walk in the door
*poof*
Bye jmc.
cocktails. you think i would have all of these!
oooo I want the cocktails page!
if you have the james bond page, cocktails are nearby!
This is going to confuse mkg.
argh! I don't!
*giggles*
bad Haz!
:)
Sorry, I've slapped my wrist and will be good.
that was the funniest comment of the week
help with the 8 ltr word, please
well now i really hate you all, i am still on the farm, what connects the farmer to the next square?
rh8 - r plus a product from a pig, finish off with a feature on the face.
Humans, Andree.
im pathetically cocktail-less. except for those that were allready filled in by FM.
HA 6/33 please?
FM, on the other hand, must really know her liquor...
on the mini-grid, where is the cocktails page?
2nd row, far right.
ha6/33 - three letters of the body part where your fingers are, one letter for a personal pronoun, two letters at the start of the US capital.
oooooo
hmmmm
ths haz, how was i supposed to think of that, this is way beyond lateral thinking
I know, it's mad, isn't it, Andree?
ty Haz - good clue
so Haz, how do I get from the on the clock to teh cocktails page?
You're welcome, lk.
Beats me, Ata, not sure that I've got the on the clock thing yet.
on the clock = james bond page. they are linked by one thing...
darn, I hoped you'd absorbed it somehow
No, not quite perfected the osmosis technique for this.
you ladies MUST have the "british bands" page filled out, right?
I have
I've found a link to the completed puzzle.
bad Haz!
me too
I know. It's bad of me. I look at the back of detective novels, I can't help it.
what is it that links radiohead + oasis?
Hey everyone, I have been out of it all day, epidurals in my back, and I don't understand what you are saying about "The Farm Game"
ok, so these around James Bond aren't film names ... hmmm
rumple -- avoid it like the plague. dont get sucked in!
nothing links Oasis and Radiohead
there are 2 film names
yeahhuh! theres a word beneath colplay that links oasis and radiohead...
alternative
oh true. alternative.
oh poo. i thought it would be something more useful. hrmph...
yay cocktails!
hmmmmm
I'm looking at FM in a new light if she knows most of these cocktails.
tequila tequila hmmmm
We could do babble clues for them! Or if we were closer play charades.
I only know things with tequila or vodka in!
What's the name of the Russian who lent his name to a petrol bomb?
ty!
And what way do the undead get about?
chicken bottoms
Molotov
ummmm!
Correct bojazz!
The undead plus to move on legs = ?
there's a cocktail called monkey brains! and zombie
but neither fit
zombie should.
zombiewalk
a zombie is good....from what i recall, dont remember whats ni it...
psst. zombie fits. ;)
Separate words, Ata.
aha yes!
oh that's silly. that was a complete guess
Okay, time I was heading to bed. See you tomorrow!
nite Haz
bye dear! ty!
Bye!

Hi Bojazz
ha ha, i am still trying to finish the farm, clue me to what connects cowboy to next window please
I have been working on that since 2:30 this afternoon Andree. Wish I could help
that's one I don't have :(
well lucky i have the day off and nothing on my agenda
my husband came home at 6:15 and the house was dark and not a bit of cooking was done. Good thing he is a good sport.
just could not get away from that silly thing
my kids started working in my office when they were teenagers, now my 14 year old grandaughter is doing the same, she is pretty good and confident on the phone but i can't really go anywhere noisy etc as she phones me frequently
that is neat, Andree.
WOuld you like for me to send you what I have on funny farm?
Looks as if this funny farm is something to stay a long way from!
Hi all, just checking in for a minute.
Oh Jilli, you had better know it
want the link?
:)
I don't need another addiction!
this is bad
hopefully I will get it out of system tonight and never look at it again
(((MOM)))

no, don't have a big fenced area so no dogs.
that is too bad... they were part of your life for so long
Yes, they were wonderful, but I have my memories and I melt when I see a Dane.
aaaawwww
there aren't very many around these parts or I'd be a puddle.
a frozen puddle from the looks of the weather
not here, kje -- 50F and raining.
wow!
50F, oh I wish
we hit 50 today too... finally out of the 20s and back to normal TX
It's crazy -- we're warmer than Florida
i think we will manage to stay a degree or 2 above freezing tonight
jilli - we were down in the mid-teens for days... not good in these houses
maybe on Wed. we will get above freezing for the first time this year
yay mom - LOL
we'll probably get a comeuppance before the winter's over.
Yesterdy the city I live in, Santee was the hottest place in the US - 81 degrees
then by Wednesday it is supposed to shower
wow, DR, is that unusual for you to be that warm?
I like the cold... so I have enjoyed it

hi welki! hi meli!
Hiyas LB =)
are you all moved in now?
<-- thought she was the last person on earth who says, 'coolio'
what about Coolio's family?
yep moved in but still unpacking I think it takes a good year to get things where you really want them, lol
Hi everybody! How are you all? And how is the grid tonight? (I went back to work last week and went to bed after work every day!)
agreed, mel. i know it took us that long
today,s is challenging, nef
hi Nef! grid is okay. some really stoopid words in it tonight
you are not alone in that usage, welki
i'm in good company :)
one year to unpack...uhm, i'm still unpacking stuff and we've been in the house for almost 9 years!
oh, great. I've already started.
one of my dollhouses got stolen in the move I didnt even realize it until yesterday, it was still in the box I am just heartbroken about it
10-letter word relating to cowboy that isn't rhinstone, anyone?
time to get rid of it if you haven't used it in 9 years
oh, how awful, mel!
oh no. did you have professional movers?
that's my feeling, kje. but hubs insists on going thru all the boxes...at his leisure!
no it must have happened the day we stopped to get sodas at dairy mart and they lifted it out of the back of the truck that is the only time we can think of
must run - happy babbling all!
be well, kje
what does it start with DC?
bye, kje
unknown, mel
night night, kje!
I am trying to think of that word for new cowboys greenhand?
but that is 9 unless you plural it
greenhorns?
yeah there you go!
eo 5/10 please
seain, scrabs linked me to this game you guys are doing, but i have no clue what to do
nope neither works. the word also relates to Religions, at least as much as 'holy cow', 'dalai lama' and pig
cowpuncher?
type in words, feather
Feather! hiyas!
see my profile for a help link that works, feather
hi feather!
oooo, last time i clicked on someone's funny farm link my computer froze

E's Executed! 10 left

the word also relates to Religions somehow
ranchhands?
sorry; confused. is the word you guys are looking for some other game?

could i have just one hint? maybe if i get one word, i'll figure out how to get more!
snow
and elephant
that's a pretty good clue, dc ;)
oopsie. lost track :D
maybe something in PB will satisfy the belly.
if not, i may have to go wander around harris teeter or wegmans
ohhh, i've been to a wegman's ... could pitch a tent and spend my vacation there!
ty. will keep trying!
yes, wegmans is lovely
does the word have to be a noun? can it be something else?
10 letters is only requirement, relating directly to Cowboy and indirectly to Religions
compassion?
the lox guy, when he heard i haven't had fresh sliced lox since i moved to canada, cut me some paper thin samples to munch on while waiting for him to slice some to go :)
