the real stressor came this morning when the state HR dept put out a bulletin that said our 2.75% performance pay was going away, even though I'm in an office headed by an elected offical and we were supposed to be exempt according to the legislation just signed. YES. I had two weeks where I got to teach all five classes for this teacher. The first week was something fun, this past week it was *shudder* bibliographies. BUT both kids and I survived, and we all learned a lot.
Oh yes, I remember Stid. I enjoyed doing an LA class with them on Anne Frank (more discuss than "taught", topic on WWII and PC texting language. Hormones rampant, but I liked the ?s they asked.

Mother is taking pictures of me babbling in the hotel room... it's a NICE hotel. TRES CHER as the french would say... (expensive!) but such soft beds -- FOUR fluffy pillows all to myself. It has been lovely.

FM, that was every meal i had growing up! poor mom has pneumonia. the woman never gets sick, but when she does, its always something bad. had to go to the ER on saturday -- seems she coughed so much and so hard that she tore the muscles in her neck!

Mom, was he unable to inject himself? I'm allergic to bee stings too and back in the day the "bee sting kit" came with a little pre-filled syringe you had to give it a quarter turn so it would work. I tried to inject myself (after a sting) and couldn't. I had to pull it out and have my dtr. inject me (she was about 10 or so at the time)

This is an epi pen syringe - you take the cap off and have to slam it hard for it to get deep enough. He got stung while we were on our boat - 20 minutes out on a lake. I drove back as fast as I could. By the time we got to camp he could hardly breath. No time for him to do it.

the Epi-pen isn't as scary as an injection; you hit the blunt tip to your thigh, and less than 5 seconds later the needle pops out and into you.

I've only had deer inside our chain-linked back yard once, but we've had raccoons, Canadian geese, bunnies and all sorts of other smaller critters all the time
deer do not belong in the city nancy boy- .i can handle the squirrels, the hipmunks, love the birds, and have a few possums, racoons and an ocasional skunk, but the deer eat so much of what i plant. saw a fox last fall and even a wolf- we humans have destroyed their habitats and now we must pay

the city of ch has taken almost all of the little wooded areas left and built tacky overpriced houses that noone can afford (most are empty), but they did not make any provisions for the wildlife that they displaced
columbis station is a beautiful community- at least it was when i was last there. lots of open spaces .. here we are on quarter acre lots and have no room for large animals.
do feed the birds ,..have several kind of woodpeckers, sparrows, cardinals, bluejays, and chickadees, and several kinds i don t know the names of.. also a hawk and an eagle... new to the area in the last few years

They have a pretty large lot - and it is quite open around there - I haven't been to their place since our grandfather died in 2005 though so who knows what's built up since then

Case in point: IN high school, I had to stay with a family for some orchestral concerts. The family I stayed with was a married couple the guy was a very famous avant garde composer.
His favorite thing to do each night was to eat a bowl of cornflakes and watch "Gunsmoke" reruns....
