Thanks, Josh, now I have it! 3 left!
yes, sprite, your emyd and write-up are great!
:) Will never forget them now. Love the babblet themes, jilli.
I'm so glad, sprite -- not many are following, though :( They take a little more googling than usual, I guess.
I gladly cater to the happy few, jilli.
:)
oh good! I found the eastern word and the big salt water word. I am learning!
ty for the salt water, sprite
Last one: tr8....help....
hehehe yvw. It is one I almost never spot. The vowel words... mysteries in mysteries!

Good morning all!

*sally
I have only just arrived, so 5 words so far :-)
morning all - how are you Katie?
very sore with a bit dose of self pity lol
*big
did you get any sleep?
What's up Katie?
actually I slept really well I was so shattered from the weekend. It isn't as bad as last time but still not good.
I have got an abscess sally
Oh poor you. I had that once and hopefully never ever again. Only time I have actually cried at the dentist, when he lanced it.
(I assume teeth, not elsewhere!)
yes teeth Sally :-)
I had one about 6 months ago and was up in the night crying with the pain so at least it is not that bad. Not looking good for my meeting this afternoon though
wisdom tooth - obviously overworked :)
lol
poor Katie ,hope it gets better soon, cant you skip the meeting?
hi all again
hi diem
Hi Jilli how you doing?
phant -- criteria
Good morning/evening all. This is an interesting grid, I think.
Hello everyone. I had to come over to Babble as both Gremlinn and Gort were playing @ Wordsplay and I was just too embarassed to stay there
and so to bed, 60 left. Goodnight/morning all and
Morning/evening all
morning Haz & FM
Poor lynxxx. Hide out here with the other numbskulls.
Hallo Haz, FM, everyone
Good morning FM!
Hello lynxxx and Sally and Haz!
well - not quite - let's just say they are both bright lads
And Sally and everyone.
morning Sally
and nobody says goodnight to sleepy me?
It is an intersting grid but has a certain flow to it.
goodnight Jilli
Nighty night dear jilli!
Night Jill, sorry was looking at grid.
night Jilli sleep well
Hi diem
going to get coffee refill, brb
Lovely sunny morning here.
thank you, lynxxx, FM, sally, diem, old uncle Tom Cobley and all........*poof*
hi FM and all newcomers
back for a minute, played an hour ago and got 68 words. The first 50 are always easy and then.....
Hey ruby, how are you?
hi Diem & Ruby
hi diem and FM and sally when she comes back....
it is still chilly here but as soon as it warms up, I think I'll have more tulips!
helloooo lynxxxx!
more than 50 salmon-colored dwarfs (dwarves?) so far
Oh look, jillibus and flosey's secret bridge partner is there - but unacceptable. Dear Mr Sharif...
How lovely ruby. lol well spotted Haz.
I'm sure games are ra6/21 when he's around.
but I bet he is re8/45 about his skills
Modesty and good looks - almost as good as George.
*grin*
bed time for me nite all happy babbling
Bye diem
nite Diem
I'm getting thoroughly sidetracked with all the famous names in here. Errol Flynn, Marie Curie, Mr Clapton, Mr Garfunkel. It's like who's who.
Bye diem.
James Bonds fav drink is also present today
It is a red carpet grid today :)
Absolutely. Name that proper noun will go with a zing.
ooh, back in time for James Bond's drink. ty FM!
and Miss Jong
And there's Macca, or does a nickname not count?
drop the last letter for a bird sally
I already did FM :-)
Mr Bolan's acceptable and we're all old enough to remember him.
But not Mr Polo.
or change a vowel Haz for an Islamic site
I bet gremlinn doesn't get distracted like this.
but those things I never did learn how to write in Excel
Or the bingo hall......
hellooooo not really here, got to go and discuss seaweeds. Back later!
I remember him and still have a vinal LP of his
eww smelly - bye Ata
Hi and bye then Ata
Or was it the ballrooms? Mr Miss World contest always had things in me5 ballrooms.
not smelly! nice clean lovely seaweeds! :P
lol Haz
Bye Ata! (Why would you want to discuss seaweeds rather than James Bond and Islamic sites?)
or Bingo
(or bingo halls)
snap Sally :)
lol, snap FM
Morley - Er** and Julia Morley, the Miss World people.
and Mr Bolan whom I love and adore! I didn't know the grid would be this exciting when I set up this meeting yesterday!
Now, why is it that I can remember that, but I can't take a trip upstairs without forgetting why I was going?
It will be here when you get back Ata.
You should know to make any meeting conditional upon the babble grid's excitement quota.
Haz, did you know they have invented a new stair lift for the elderly and confused called the Rocket? It gets you upstairs before you forget why you were going.
yes, I should
I need a rocket! Does it work both ways? Does it get you downstairs equally fast?
ROFL
unfortunately, there's a VERY fast way to get down the stairs and we all had better watch out for that one!
I think FM got dibs on that first Ruby
Ata, you could have people thinking that you're involved in code-cracking/espionage. 'I have to work on deciphering words, so sorry to have to cancel'
I am juggling many visitors ' schedules for late April, early May. My son is coming and I'm soooo happy!
ruby, you really must stop putting trip wires on your stairs. He will notice eventually.
hahah
he is making a big production about my birthday, but all I realy want is a week without sarcasm!
Oh, if it's sarcasm you're wanting to avoid, you've come to the right place, ruby. We're strangers to it here.
this is another no-noodle puzzles
we don't understand sarcasm at all
anyway, must *really* go! back this afternoon!
I just fell off my chair laughing!
We're Brits.....
do you know moss, too, ata?
Now now, Haz, not sarcasm. Irony.
See you later, Ata!
Ata knows everything. She is Einstein's granddaughter, after all.
TTFN Ata.
yes, and I say its sarcasm. LOL. How ironic!
Bother. Man arrived doing some work here. Back in a little bit.
Ruby what date is yr b'day?
I say it's spinach, and the hell with it!
17th
that was the punchline of a very old New Yorker cartoon
We will have ababble party on the 17th then :)
Headlines in local French paper 'Elderly man admitted to hospital suffering from moss poisoning. Wife claims it was spinach'
lol. Would you believe that I used a yoghurt solution for planting the moss? The lizards love it!
which is better, moss poisoning or the trip wire? There are also nightshade that grow next to the raspberries and blackberries, a thought for August!
yoghurt and or urine are v good for getting mosses to start and ageing old stones.
thank you fm and haz, I'll be right back!
You need a method that covers your tracks. Could the dogs be trained to trip him up in dangerous places?
They'll not spill the beans, no matter how much dog food they're offered.
well don't give the dogs the beans in the first place!
I know about the yoghurt FM, but urine? wouldn't that kill
I know. I'm wondering about the urine as well. Dare we ask for more details?
aparently not lynxxx it is only used as a starter element but I have to say have never tried it.
I've not seen if featured on Gardener's World.
*it
probably best that it wasn't Haz
I know. Just can't imagine old Percy Thrower being in approval.
Evidently that's how you keep deer out of your vegetable garden, urine and hair! No deer here, however, the French have eaten all of them
and I have no success with growing vegetables. I likved the yoghurt idea as it doesn't smell and seemed very BIO! And the rocks are pretty close to the stairs, bad enough that Max goes there!
That is true too ruby. and on that note I must poof as have things to do this morning but will be back later.
well if Max goes there you will be able to see if FM's theory works
bye FM
See you later, FM.
it is very hard to keep the moss alive as it dries out really fast and needs to be watered twice a day
bye haz
back, hello all
bye fm
are you still here lynxx???
It's FM who's going, ruby.
hi Sprite
Hello, sprite.
hello again sprite
I'm a little confused this AM, why did I come here? Oh yeah, to learn about rockets and seaweed
ruby, you need to move to Britain, we have NO difficulty growing moss, it sprouts everywhere, unbidden and unloved.
so that's why it's so green!
Yes, while you're trying to grow it, British gardeners are trying to get rid of it.
I even like it in the lawn, from this distance, it looks like grass
and it stays green all winter
we have many songs about how pleasant one can rest on soft moss. I tried that once. They don't sing about how wet moss is.
*pleasantly
Yes, it just loves a moist atmosphere.
or about the small (biting) creatures that live in it
is today's grid them measurement?
theme*
lol, sin bin for a typo?
if you click on my profile, rubyfoo, you will see what the theme is
my excuse is that it is so cold in my studio that my fingers are numb!
Hi everyone!
Hello, Brookie.
hiya Brookie
Hi haz, sprite! The grid looks fun today!
it is fun. Not one of the easiest grid, but smooth until about halfway for sure.
It's got a lot of interesting words, not many long sequences going but still fun.
hi Brookie. You are early
I didn't know that was a real thing, sprite, thank you
That's fine. I'm taking a several-day hiatus from my 2nd job (editing), so I have more time to work on these grids.
hi brookie
yvw
Hi lynxxx and ruby. I've been up since 4 a.m. and am strangely feeling well rested!
hehehe will talk to you at about 15.30 this afternoon... when the man with the hammer pays you a visit...
lol
At 15.30 I'll be at work, so I'll just have to tell my coworkers to be quiet while I nap at my desk.
good idea! Tell th4 they shouldn't snore
I found a drink!
One in the grid or one to virtually share with fellow babblers, sprite?
my husband's favorite!
in the grid I think....
both. Well, you guys can share it, lol, I don't drink and it is only 11 am here, so two good reasons not to touch the stuff :)
I take it the drink is shaken, not stirred?
found it, thanks to sally's clue!
exactly!
for sure, just ask crossy
wtg Sally and hi
hi sprite, been in and out a bit this morning.
taking off mud masque... brb
glad to see you, Sally
and you sprite. Is today a good day for you?
yay my first 8. Withdrawn.
Going to take a break, back later to tease a few more words out of this thing.
it is, Sally. Am feeling better and doing some fun things and some necessary things. Will feel good about myself this evening too :) And how are you today?
bye for now, Haz
The only other 8 I have is tr. It might be a command from Mr Clapton's mother to the barber.
I'd like to get to half before lunch....
Toodle-oo!
too funny clue, haz!
Better than yesterday :-) Had a very long drive Sunday to visit husband's very sick cousin, and I have to do the majority of the driving, so was tired yesterday.
bye Haz
great clue!
Glad it worked! Bye!
only half way but over 10% of my words end in ic
no kidding
your distances are often so much bigger than ours. Glad today is better!
only 4 ics, lynxx, putting monkeys to work
lyn, indeedydeed!
ha, ha! Just got Haz's clue for the tr8 :-)
funny clue isn't it
Haz, that tr8 clue was Genious

I am off for a bit
hugs
helo?
hi, g'day. Was there a clue for the tr8?
Hello, bichon. I clued it earlier as being what the mother of Mr Clapton might have said to the barber.
hmmmm
got it, ty Haz
Glad you got it, bichon.
hello
Hello, herin.
Thank you for the clue
You're welcome.
my sides still hurt from freaking out the cat and not being blamed for it
I don't understand what you mean?
Hi Haz and herin Just back from the garden centre.
Ok I moved the cat jumped but because the little black guy was under her I didn't get blamed. HI FM
Hello, FM. Did you purchase anything interesting?
Priced up water butts and bought a couple of bits but nothing exciting yet. Have just been on the phone to local handyman who I will employ to bring said water butt and install it next week and link it into the down pipe - v green :)
Your green credentials will be rocketing.
seeing as there is no tap for a hose in the garden it seemed like a great idea.
Loved yr clue for the tr8 btw, inspired.
It's a very good idea, you just need to hope that we get enough rain.
Thank you! Taking a modest bow.
sprinkles a few drops of smugness over NI :)
We're still smug after the Grand National win!
Wasn't that something? I didn't actuall see the race but from what I have read it was a great one. How about the horse that really didn't want to take part?!
what are water butts, may I ask from across the pond
Hi bichon - they are big containers for collecting rain water.
I watched a recording of it, it's on BBC iplayer still, I think. He mentioned his old mentor, Billy Rock from Cullybackey, who first took him under his wing - that was nice.
okay, rain barrels at the bottom of downspouts?
yes that the sort of thing bichon
unfortunately with modern houses there is no spout so you have to buy a kit that cuts into the pipe and channels the water into the barrel.
phone back in a bit.
good morning everyone
hi Crossie
morning all
howdy herin
ty, Haz, great clue for the tr8
howdy peri
Thanks peri! Hello to you and crossy.
howdy haz
help with bottom i pls
The i words are tricky to work out because there are so many i letters. Let me work it out.
can I have the stats pls
One is ic5 - ic plus a nervous twitch
ty Haz, nbt
The other one is ic7/36 - ends in Mr Clapton.
ty Haz, got them both
You're welcome.

oh! and i got lost in china town, which is intimidating after dark
Lots of bodies..LOL..Oh Monday then yes all the museums are closed. Walking past does count then ENTER is the next step. Getting lost is Chinatown after dark makes you a native New Yorker.
herin, Are you referring to the Strand Book Store?
and hello everyone!
does feeling like your body has been run through a meat grinder count for anything?
nut, yes it does. You must have gone to Times Square then.
Why are things closed on a Monday in NY
Yes I am Annie. It is one of my dreams
herin, Budgets, budgets, budgets
The Strand is a great book store. If you are ever in NY I will take you there.
I can dream
aww that is sweet Annie.

I saw someone on the train with a Strand Bag I nearly squelled.
When I go into Manhattan next time ( whenever that is) do you want me to get you a Strand shopping bag. Just the plastic one but it lasts. I will mail it to you. I should be going in next month.

Anyone remember the secret words from last night????
Hi Jmb :)
try this one ... i once had a girl or should i say, she once had me.
or 90s in my case, Ursh ;)
hey jude will never die
A more obscure fab four tune... but one of my favs
norwegian wood
secret words from what?
very familiar jmb - but cant quite get it
CLAM WORM!!!!!
yeah bethn..... she showed me her room isn't it good norwegian wood
sorry judi... was that directed at moi? if so... what does it mean
Hey Jude is obscure?
not liking these a words
loved that whole album, i am having a flashback of sitting in the house and opening the plastic on the album and putting it on the llarge floor stereo (furniture quality, no less : ) )
Since when?
It was a clue for a word from yesterday's grid. Some of us were working on it last night around 8:30 ish or so.
right you are mage Jude is indeed obscure
bethn... i am your age(ish). My phonograph was a small tabletop model that had a lid that closed
no kaplan - the 'once had a girl, or should i say she once had me' is a more obscure beatles song
I need help with one ca 5/14 I have the spiky plant word need the other
when I was little, we had a victrola, also furniture-like. then when my mom redid the living room we go a danish modern stereo with a well inside to hold your slbums
so many beatles memories...
sweet bethn.... my friends family had a console that went with their pink & black decor...
The other ca5/14 puts an extra vowel in the ce4/6, if that's of any help, ruru.
thank you haz
Or, ca, a vowel, repeat the start.
You're welcome, ruru. Good morning/afternoon all.
I will have to come back to the a's later.. too frustrating
Hiya, Haz.
well to be truthful, we didn't get new furniture, just new custom fitted, slipcovers in a space age geometric print that that covered our old forest green and maroon chenille furniture
Wow, bethn. That hurts my eyes just thinking about it.
Hello, Judi. Are you well?
our house was .... lovely?
what a time to be alive bethn ...
My mother had plastic on her couches and plastic runners across the carpeting
and never took the plastic off the lamp shades because of the dust.
it wasn't long after that she was committed...
Seriously? So she didn't get to enjoy her nice things?
I'm doing okay, Haz. I'm a little loopy on hydrocodone (for my back pain).
my whole childhood haz.. really
Sorry to interrupt...just need a quick clue for the bottom row i please for NBT?
*laughing inappropriately at ruru* Sorry, chum.
Sympathies on the back pain, Judi, I've had some experience and it's NOT to be recommended. Keep taking the pills.
I am not sure, but my dad may have played a large part in that decor. everything after was much more tasteful. my Baba (russian grandma) was very big into plastic. She seemed to fel it relieved her of ever having to actually clean
ruru, I've seen drivers never take their plastic off the new car seats, never people with furniture. Didn't you slip off seats a lot?
I felt like walking bacteria when I was younger
ic5/ comes from that i, car. ic plus a twitch.
Also ic7 , ic, a consonant, finish off with Mr Clapton.
Going back to see the spinal specialist next Thurs. He's probably going to jab me with needles. However, at this point, I'm kind of looking forward to it.
we never sat on them haz.. it was pulled off for company... kind of stepford -wives like weirdness
TY Haz! Off to work now!
Baba's plastic had little bumps that gave you some traction so slippage was not a problem
Well done, car - have a good day!
ouch Judi
back to work... break is over. bbl
clue for cr 7 pls
*giggling at plastic covered furniture* Bet it was hot in the summer.
Back pain is so wearying and exquisitely agonising.
Judi...what is wrong?
your thighs made a sound when you stood up as they peeled off the plastic
cr7 - like the story of how the world was made in Genesis, but lose a vowel at the end.
Have ruptured disc at L4/5. Causes lower back pain and shooting pain into my hip.
Or, in the cr5/12 preceding, reverse the order of the vowels and add the opposite of out.
Judi, have you been to pain specialist? I just had a adio frequency ablation at l4, l5, s1. The burn the nerves at those levels and it really helps abate the pain
hmmm friend just found out he has 3 herniated discs in upper spine, wondering if they will poke him with needles?
*radio
Are you managing to sit in any degree of comfort?
I'm curently seeing a spinal specialist who is also an orthopaedist and a pain specialist. Thank goodness for overachievers.
sounds like you are at the righ place Judi
I hope he helps, mine
has given me back a quality of life that was priceless
He had me go to physical therapy. I went to six sessions. The pain got much worse. *shrug*
PT did'nt help for me either
was wondering about that, is surgery not an option?
Physiotherapy helped me eventually, but they can find pain you didn't know you had.
or is it a last resort?
I'm making a note of that radio frequency ablation, bethn. Sounds better than epidural injections that he mentioned at my consultation.
surgery on discs can pb problematical. when the repair (fuse ) one, the next one up tends to go bad over the next several years so it is usually a last resort
he has already had a spinal fusion in his lower back, sounds like he may want to reconsider surgery
I can sit okay. Just getting up and walking hurts quite a bit. Stairs are a killer. Laying down is somewhat problematic (until the meds kick in and I fall asleep). Been out of work for two days because I don't even want to think about getting in and out of the car.
epidurals can help but usually not long term. I have had them under twilight sleep. the dr uses a fluoroscope so he can see exactly where to put the needles. No pain & you wake up feeling much better . Itis usually temporary (for me) bur the relief can be amazing. Also ask about facet injections
ok, will relay the info, ty bethn
last cr7?
did you have a fall ? Or lift something badly?
And even the fact that you can't drive helps to reinforce the feeling of restriction and annoyance.
Where do they insert the fluoroscope, bethn?
cr7 - starts like the previous cr words, ends in not day (American style)
that is just like an overhead x ray that reacts to some "ink" that they inject just needles go in
just need a bandaid afterward, and back to work next day
Fell down some stairs about 5 years ago. Landed right on me bum. Then did the same thing about two weeks later. Family doctor said it was probably just a bruised tail bone. Later he said "arthritis". Glad I kept after it.
Judi - if you can get a referral to Dr. William Rambo in Columbia, SC go see him. Had the same problem as you. Had surgery in '06 and not a lick of pain since and I routinely lift 55-60 lb buckets every day.
thank you haz..
You're welcome, ruru.
I don't think I'm so desperate that I have to seek out of state help yet. But, thanks for the info, bojazz. Surgery hasn't even been mentioned. I just want to get to the point where I don't have pain so I can exercise like I used to.
ouch! judi, I know what that is like. I fell down the front steps in an ice storm, broke my back and herniated l4, l5, s1. no fun
reading back,i also have 3 herniated disks in my neck and it is not pleasant.im sorry your in pain judi
hi crossy!
I think that's part of the frustration, Judi, not knowing if or how that pain is going to go.
what did you do about it crossy?
howdy beth
Uhg, bethn. That sounds terrible! So glad you found relief, though.
Crossy uses bacon therapy.
i rode it out seaspray, learn to rebehave.as many have said here, surgery is a vely last resort, for many reasons
over time..lots of it,the herniation will pull away from the nerves(somewhat)
well the person I am referring to is 68 years old and goes nonstop all day long, like a rat on acid, thinks he is superman, he will have a big adjustment
last think i want is fusion surgery in my neck
I am not as physically able as I used to be, I walked 7 miles daily in the past, can usually do 1-2 now a couple times a week if things are not flaring up. I go thru periods where I am very restricted and see my Dr @every 9-10 months
he will
I have a theory that if/when I'm able to exercise properly again, I can lose some weight and that alone will ease some of the pressure on the affected nerves.
lol,i heriated my disks exercising
gives me a good reason not to exercise lol
*face palm*
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
the famous ab works by nordic track
could not use my neck, but had a great 6 pack on my abs
lol
I hope you sued them, Crossy. Unless of course you were laying upside down on the thing in some weird kinky maneuver.
there are priorities crossy
at least you looked good
clue for the last cr 7 pls
i was rushing the steps and the level increases, all my fault judi
i was the best looking guy in emerg seaspray
Now he's Mr. Pudding Abs.
cr7 - same first three letters as preceding words, end in American style spelling of not day.
what's all this about pudding and abs?!
lol crossy
afternoon everyone
Hiya, Katie & Nancy Boy.
howdy katie and nb
Hello, Katie. How's the mouth?
Which isn't as rude as it sounds....
This grid is a pain in the neck. I only have the two z's greyed out so far. 120 words to go.
I've been in bed all day so it is much better thanks Haz :-)
Hi there judi, Crossy..everyone else :)
hi NB and katie
ty Haz
50 left here
Enough about pain and misery! Margaritas all around!!!
It's one of those 'pluck each word from the grid with tweezers' types of grid, but there are some interesting words.
crossy runs for limes....
*gets the extra tall glasses*
katie grabs the salt....
Anyone have any of those cute little paper umbrellas?
i want the worm!
I will get chips and salsa
and Nancy opens mouth and waits.
*then remembers she can't drink 'cause of the antibiotics*
what's to drink
tacky umbrellas provided
beer
Awesome. Uh, Nancy Boy... we're going to see some ID.
you sound like my son NB, he always provides appreciation
lol,a person can borrow beer, tequilia borrows you lol
but-but-but, I'm 19!
Ohh no, it's 21 in America isn't it?!
i think the drinking age is lower in Europe isn't it?
S'okay then. It's only virtual tequilla.
they are messing with you nb,its 19 here
Yes, it's about 5 in France.
18 over here so he is OK :-)
21 in the US
21 in most states here. Nazis.
yes it is 21 in america
lol,in france they get wine in sippy cups
come over here nb..19
Hi all....clues please for ci7 x 2 please?
binge drinking here starts at about 13 lol
18 for everything here! Thank goodness ;) although obviously, there's nothing that a confident smile and a fake ID won't get you!
LOL Katie!
used to be 16 for smoking but they put it up to 18 a few years ago
Am4 to that NB. I had my first fake ID when I was 16. It was a much more gullible world back then, though.
Hello, Flask. ci7/32 - the first one looks like c plus a word that means very angry, but use a double helping of the consonant at the beginning.
it was 18 when I was a teen, I was not a big drinker
I still can't get over the fact you can't get alcohol in your supermarkets
The second ci7/32 puts a vowel onto the end of ci6/21, think lemons etc.
ty haz
lol,i remember when i became of legal drinking age(was 18 at that time) i was sitting on the curb outside of beer store at 9:55 wasiting for it to open lol
they can, katie, at least in some states. just not spirits.
Ugh, Katie - I got caught in the middle of that. I started smoking at around 16...and then suddenly when I was 17 I couldn't get them anymore!
in some states you can buy beer but no hard liquor
not in Canada they can't
the govt is in full control of our beer and liquer,no private sellers;((
lol crossy
nazi,s
:(
ohhh, canada. well they are just odd
our shopping would be soooo cheap if they stopped doing it over here lol
you better not be smoking nb...gives stern pappa look....
sorry Haz not getting the first one....
in some states, liquor is avaiable in gov't run "package stores"
*shuffles feet sheepishly*
I got so hosed on drinking ages. When I turned 18, the state of NY decided to raise the drinking age to 19. I was legal for 6 months. When I turned 19, they decided to raise it to 21. I was legal for 6 months. Complet idiocy.
Flask, use the first three letters of the ci4/5 that precedes it, then add a four letter word that describes the speed at which something is done.
LOL Judi! what a pain
where were you from in NY? I grew up in the capitol district
we are going on a pre hen & stag do this weekend, could worry about how much will be drunk, tablets or no tablets
Oh, Nancy Boy, smoking is so not sexy. Stop!
nb,i smoked for 25 years now i quit in 2002,but shall spend the rest of my life breathing through rattly lungs.do yourself a favor and quit..oik end of speech lol
I'm originally from Clinton, NY bethn. (Near Utica).
My sister-in-law lives in Scotia, though.
out west:)
he'll stop when he's ready ...!
we are all ready...once
Shush, Ata. We're being stern and parental here.
now ata do not enable the lad lol
well yes, but also it takes the person to want to stop :P
better go and feed my cats, crumble is standing on my arm and won't move
easir to stop when your just starting
thanx Haz, sorry 'bout that!
So much easier to give it up now, while he's young.
snap
No problem, Flask!
BRB. Time to take another happy pill and make a new pot of java...
You should all appeal to his vanity. Think of the skin damage.
oh I agree, and I hate anyone smoking, but I also realise that people can say all they want, but it takes being ready to stop to actually succeed
clue for cr 7/32 please
good point haz!
what are you implying, Haz? ;)
I'm just saying - younger people are conscious of their looks. Smoke, and you do a great job of wrecking your skin.
lines! wrinkles!
cr7/32 - first letters of the process described in Genesis(five) finish with two letters of not out.
now hubby is back, honestly it's all go!!
*runs in a absolutely snoggles NB to within an inch of his life*
ok nb,just one more thing and i will leave you be on it.when the wife and i both quit in 2002,every day we put the price of a pack of smokes into a large jar i had.we never missed it cause that was what we wasted every day on smokes anyways.at the end of 2 years i counted it up and rolled it(smokes were $7.50 a pack at this time) it came to $12,160.00 and i bough my brand new 2004 toyota echo with it...cash
c a
Eva!!! You're still dressed up for St Patrick's day I see ;)
Just about every victim, sorry recipient, of those makeover shows has been a smoker. Combine that with sunbathing and you've got a wreck of a face.
wtg crossy
and it looks like someone has a more recent photo posted. ;)
and no sun ot tannijng booths either nb,or ill tell you bout my melinoma lol
e
I'm 32, and I'm proud to say I've NEVER smoked at all!!!!!
yaa for movieman!!~
Dorens. You're allowed to communicate with more than two letters at a time.
It felt the time, Eva ;) for my close-up!
Oh well I avoid the sun, Crossy! But only because I prefer to be pale and interesting. Haz might have been right with that 'vanity' thing..
I have that one. I need the last one. ty for the clue for the first one.
and such a dreamy one it is... *le sigh* if i werent engaged, and you werent gay. ;)
I think both Leo and your man might have something to say about that! ;)
ok that it..eva hit the showers
cr7/32 - the second one - looks like the sort of gown Scarlett O'Hara might wear in the evening. First three letters as with preceding words, finish with hours of darkness, American spelling.
chris would understand. he knows i have an affinity for pretty boys. ;)
LOL Crossy!
Eva can definitely stay ;)
Did I catch NB declaring that I might be right? *smug*
That's it Haz ty
did i catch haz being smug? i thought that was reserved for ata... ?
You're welcome, Matches.
perhaps, Haz. But only because Eva distracted me with her compliments ;)
Ata is always smug. Smugness is more fleeting for me.
Silverclaw is the smuggest today
oh, how i missed you all when i was babble-less last week. :)
What did she do to outsmug you, Ata?
I'd have to show you the photo. hang on a sec
Did you really, EvaN? So nice to know we're missed...
I'm smug - because of my gorgeous new nearly-niece! (aka Leo's new actual niece)
ok,crossy is done sermonizing,as he has no bad habits(uses foot to slide jug of bacon vodka under the table.....
LOL Crossy!!
hi all. sometimes when at work i play with babble expert a bit - and that always happens... need to remember to check off no chat, sorry
id complain about having been in training all week, but in reality, i fought tooth-and-nail to get that training, and i learned a lot!!
Oh just seen the photo on FB sily really is the smuggest of them all
Just perused the chog and saw the anti-smoking crusade.....god bless the person who invented CHANTIX!
You're forgiven, Dorens. Nice to see you!
oh! crossy! that reminds me. dear fiance showed me this this morning: http://scifiwire.com/2010/04/ awesome-or-disgusting-sta.php
mine was welbutrin jm
Speaking of photos... Crossy, did you get your 20th century film developed so you can show us the pic of your cat with the Pop Tart box on his head?
baby niece? any photos, NB?
yes, that, eva! isn't she smug!! pic changed here too
looking eva...
hi eva
Not yet, Eva, but she's only a day old ;)
crossy!!!
hi hazel
good to see you to, haz.. but only have couple of minutes... one of those crazy days, and 199 words would be hard to face when i get home this evening at 10 pm
I tried wellbutrin and it made me feel very odd....odder than normal odd
HI all how many words please?
hi dorens
199 arms
lol eva,a little much, even for me
Hello, carlee, nice to see you!
oh golly, whats her name??
i was alreay very odd,so it worked well for me
how are things over the pond hazel?
Silverclaw is indeed VERY smug. She reminds me of Karys' cat icon.
howdy carlee;)
i thought youd like it, crossy. :)
yes! a real unphotoshopped version!
hows things up your way crossy?
they're calling her Susie..she's gonna be gorgeous! I think she's going to have the same colouring as Leo and his sister...lucky girl!
We've had our summer already! Two days at the weekend and it's now dropped in temperature by about 10 degrees. Apart from that, we have a general election but politics are SO boring, we'll not talk about it.
NANCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not bad, have not won the lottery yet,but am not being sued either...so we are cruising;)
too bad summer flew by so quickly haz
Gidday Carlee!!!
and glad ur cruising crossy
im still waiting for the day when you sneak a photo of leo to us. ;)
I know. Roll on 2011.
yes, we want to see Leo
hey carlee.. it's been a while, how are you doing?
It appears Silverclaw is channeling her mum.
Hi babble pals... how is our grid, today?
I'm doing..life goes on...
The grid is one which requires attention, concentration and a reasonable vocabulary.
maybe one day! Until he agrees you'll have to make do with my description of him, which may be biased but he is lovely ;)
and a unreasonable vocab as well;))
I've found three movie-based words so far (the ci4, ci6 and cr6)
I have a vobabbulary. Does that count?
True.
well, if hes anywhere near as dreamy as you, im not sure i could take it. ;)
lol judi
ty movieman
I think she was, Judi!
movieman, there's a Michael Caine movie 'Get Ca6)
oh don't Eva, I'll get all big headed. Again ;)
yw crossy
I know we don't want to talk politics but I just thought I would point out I can't vote because I am away - I feel so angry about it but there is nothing I can do, this must be what disenfranchised means!
im sure you hate it, NB. ;)
Oh yeah haz, got that one too
I wonder how many babble points disenfranchised would get?
postal vote???
I think NB is worried that we will think Leo is dreamier.
well...:D
LOL Judi!
there is often a early vote available for those that will be away
judi, im not sure thats possible! my head would explode!
is here anyways
Actually the truth behind NB's icon picture... Leo is under his elbow, deliberatly squashed out of the camera frame.
with us you can do a postal vote but that is only sent out 4 days before. The only alternative is a proxy vote but Mari is with us and I don't really want anyone else to know the way I vote as it is a very private thing
hah! now THAT i could believe! ;)
There is only room for one ego in this frame!
:))
lol NB
Movie - Fred Astaire film, Puttin on the ri4/9.
clue for the last er 7
er7 - er plus a German river.
mmmm..... grilled cheese + tomato soup.... so yummy...
hiya
well, all I'll say about Leo is that the good-luck fairy spent a very long time over his crib. Hah ;)
does anyone want some egg salad
hmmmm that sounds good, trying to decide what to do for dinner, something soft which doesn't need chewing or the mouth wide open lol
Or, er7 - three to do wrong, two to say a short hello, half a Hawaiian goose.
Poor Katie. Sounds like soup for you.
how about a smoothie Katie
oh no, Katie - what happened?
Soft boiled eggs, mashed up.
Or custard! Total comfort food.
lol nb just read your profile and jean is just like his daddy.did you know jacques found a sealed greek amphora on one of his dives and it was full of wine.he was offered in excess of 3 million for it as i reacall.he said "no thank you,im going to drink it with my family".and he did!.he had it with a roast beef dinner and he said "it was not bad at all!!"
I had boiled egg and soldiers yesterday I do like to regress
clearly, NB -- he's got you. ;)
LOL Crossy! Don't know much about them, but that quote always stuck in my mind ;)
Or porridge. Bring out your inner Scot.
because as we all know - too much of a good thing is simply wonderful
Awww Eva :') ...yeah ;)
lol,my mum used to make soldiers for my soft eggs as a child;))
I'm thinking crumble and custard is a really good idea
Just as long as you don't make drawer porridge, that might involve too much effort.
soup and soldiers....
don't eat your cats!
Best just to skip right to the desserts, Katie.
Back shortly...
lol ata, they would be too tough and chewy, hmmmm except crumble who would be very fatty
An7 clue, please?
LOL still not easy to ingest
creme brulee
potato chips or swedish fish? decisions, decisions...
THAT I could go for
jello shooters!
I'd better go and grab a shower and get dinner, enough self pity for one day!
I second Crossy on that! Might do that for my dinner...are they vegan?
they are indeed..well the certo may have essense of hoof in it
Gelatin is made from hooves, Nancy Boy. Nix the jello.
but thats just toenails,so yer ok
snap judi
okay...what are soldiers? soft eggs & soldiers? soup & soldiers?
Fish sticks!
jello brand is NOT vegan. gelatin is made from animal by-products. i think you can find vegan versions, though...
right you are, Judi!
bread chopped up into slices!
toast cut into strips for egg dippin
nit getting the clue for the other er 7
Jmitch...strips of toast! or bread
not getting the clue for the other er 7
new one to mess with my grand-daughters head!
An7???
new?? old as the auld country jm:))
I love these food discussions; never knew about "soldiers" too funny
awwww dear fiances gchat status: "short hair, freckles, glasses, pale skin...man I got a great life...:)"
always a new tidbit on babble
hi crossy and ata and boo and nancy boy
i use a lot of slang terms and regional names for food items. did it with my daughter too.
howdy ruby
(thats ME hes describing, BTW!)
hi ruby
hi, Ruby! Eva...is that about you or about him? ;)
hello jmitch
easier to get them to eat "calamari" than "squid"
hahah jmitch
awwww, Eva! in that case you have my blessing to marry him ;)
mm fried breaded squd rings..mmmm a dash of lemon and pepper and dive in!!!~
Yum! Extra tentacles, please!
g-day ruby. yes indeed....but try to introduce squid into your daughter life when "THE LITTLE MERMAID" was near & dear to her young heart!
goodness the chog is hopping today.
thanks NB. hes a pretty decent guy. :)
lol unless you have had great changes since your motorcycle pics eva,he may need glasses lol
i never knew about soldiers until my husband came along
the tentacles are the best parts;)
I really like the tiny squid, not so much the big ones (think of 20,000 leagues etc)
whatcha mean, crossy? i had all those things then...
*love* squid
no giant squid ruby, can only get one ring if fryer that way;)
and it might get you first!
Calamari is divine! And cheap! Great combo.
lol eva, must of been blinded by your presentation
jmitch: I tried escargot shortly after the Lion King came out. You know I couldn't resist quoting the "slimy yet satisfying" comment, forcing tablemates to spit out their food laughing.
ormal, lol lol
good job ormal!
LOL Ormal!
see how they try and fix yucky food? they wrap it in bacon!
lol. well, they were all there! :P
just don't try to make them from scratch, i.e. alive, because they try to get out of the "purger"
Snails? No. Tried them once. That was enough.
you can get them here, all prepared and ready to go into the broiler
They cook the snails while they are alive?
I don't think I've ever done snails.....Judi, never quit at once...you may have had bad batch or cook
Did I miss a clue for the Am7 or are you all just ignoring my plea for help?
no, you have to purge them if you want to make them from scratch. I did it once and didn't eat snails again for several years
they're delish if you like butter and garlic!
I don't have it yet Judi. :(
purge =gutting them im assuming
brb, telephone!
no, you have to control what they eat because they might have eaten poisonous plants.....
am7 is a sort of fungus. am+indef. article + notday
not day with a different vowel at the end
hi, all
think snails are bad? hand around us at the camp when we are prepping a moose!
howdy guernsey
don't eat the am7
Ty, guernseygirl. Don't have it yet, though.
but you could slip it into somebody's omelet!
you flip a coin to see who has to lay in the chest cavity, reach up into the neck and cut the jugular vein
if you hated them very much
hello everyone
howdy barb
hi barb's!
hello barb
we are talking about icky foods!
oh dear. just updated my flickr with my very first session of photos... these are either 2 or 3 years old now... *le sigh*
why not cut it from the outside crossy?
although I think snails, prepared by somebody else, are tasty
tripe
think I came in at the wrong time...cutting jugulars???
Finally got the am7. Oy.
creamed corn!,as a child i once sat in front of a plate of that for 7 hours lol
Hi Barb
dogs love tripe can't say I have had it myself though...just the thought ewww
hi flosey
slimy rubber
Totally cave man, Crossy. Sounds like a horror movie.
crossy also passes on the tripe
ah crossy, that's just plain cruel - had that happen with a bowl of cream of wheat - but not that long, had to go to school
lol judi,it does not come in clean packages
I've eaten it several times. The French make it badly (a la mode de caen) but the Italians fry it and it's not greasy and very good
in France once, i had a chicken gizzard salad
cream corn I like...I know sick huh? but it is really good when you make corn fritters
yes, barb's
yes, yummy girl
I use to make corn fritters a lot when the kids were young, they loved them
ive never done corn fritters
yummy, girl**
I have an amish recipe for baked corn which is delish!
oh, i'm so hungry. i think i'm going to go and get fish and chips.
but I didn't use creamed corn, I used kernels
they were the treat we looked forward to when we use to go camping when I was young
clue for the second er 7 pls
creamed corn makes them just a bit sweeter
could you share your corn recipe SeaSpray?
going camping this weekend as a matter of fact
fish and chips! now yer talking! nice big piece of halibut...mmm
nice, sea spray, where?
ah, another fav. crossy
with a beer batter, and a beer
sounds wonderful!
In PA ruby, spring fling with a bunch of friends
but of course
I am with a guernseygirl
english fish and chips are the best for sure
and malt vinegar!
lovely, I went to grad school in Scranton and lived just north of there for many years
but of course crossy
not mushy peas though.
We are actually going to Gettysburg
no no mushy peas...too much like baby food
malt vinegar???
my son has been there, me, never
and they turn the chips green
oh ormal...
malt vinegar is very good
Oh yes ormal...so much better than white
eeeewq
we live just 30 minutes away from there
i had mushy peas in London and loved them!
malt vinegar is essential in the house!
malt vinegar is usually brown and very cheap - but perfect with chips
Gah! I just greyed out another box. 95 words left. Jeesh. This is like purging snails.
yes crossy
I've never had mushy peas.....
but faster!
I agree Judi, this grid is rough
they're dried peas cooked until they're mushy. i like them, but not with fish and chips
for sure...which reminds me we are just about out hubby will be upset if we run out...loves the stuff all over his fries whether we are having fish or not
malt vinegar is one of those smells that can bring you back 40 years in time in a single sniff:)
Like floor polish...
Evening all :)
well guess I better see how many I can get..so far only one LOL
hello soodle!!!!
straight back to when the fish and chips were wrapped in a greasy copy of the Daily Mirror
i thought all the malt was used in scotch. ;)
hi soodle
hi, soodle
or remember when our mums used to use ammonia on the floors? nasty stuff
that sounds good to me!
some is saved for malt bread, jmitch
Old fashioned floor polish transports me back to my days in the Convent School. The smell still terrifies me to this day...
we give 99% to the scotch making but have to save a little back jm lol
malt bread? i like the sound of that......off to google.
did they make you polish those floors?
I like the smell of an elementary school
back!
my dad loved malt bread
Sarson's malt loaf - chewy and delicious with butter
I went to a Sacred Hearts of Mary graduate school and they hated me.
the pink and green sawdust they used on the floors...
may I have a clue for ir6 please
anyone want my swedish fish? i tried the potato chips, but they were icky, so i opened the swedish fish, and they just dont taste how i remember them...
LOL Guernsey! No! But if you were naughty, you got sent to 'The Office'. And they liberally used floor polish there.
I remember my janitors name from elementary school, is that weird or what?
haven't seen malt bread for a long time, use to come in a small round loaf - chewy crust, yum
we used to have to polish our desks on the last day of term
he had some fingers missing as i recall
oh, seaspray, that's horrible!
my dad made his own ...but I dont have the receipe to share...maybe my mom does
Me too Rubes! I think it was because I wasn't Nun material, even from an early age
oh all these things I've never heard of, mushy peas (aren't they all mushy?), malt vinegar, malt bread, and soldiers...
yes ruby, but he was a kind and gentle man
all those early memories are so much more firmly fixed than the more recent ones - alas
*pictures guernsey girl singing 'It's a Hard Knocks Life' *
not just you, Ormal...I've no idea what malt bread is. But it sounds like carbs, so ew ;)
they accepted me to graduate school from my portfolio and my last name (kelley) but had no idea that I was from NY!
malt loaf is yummy
great toasted too
and kelley with an ey! uh oh
2 for the price of one at Tesco's at the moment
lol ormal, every day in babble is a revellation!
what is good nun material, Soodle?
BBL, all. Lunch time.
oh, my brother LOVES him some mushy peas. ive never been a big fan, as i dont really care for mint.
bye judi
Ha ha ha, NB! You want me to draw you a picture? LOL
when i got mushy peas as a child i used to put them inside the hollow yorkie pudds;)
definitely going to have fish and chips. the conversation is making me so hungry. bbl
i also never cared much for yorkshire pudding, and my family was *thisclose* to disowning me for it!
well no matter how ill-suited you are, I think we'll all agree I'm worse ;) could have been a monk but there was no way I was adopting those clothes, that hairstyle and that God ;)
I log on after dinner and this always makes me hungry
lol ruby
i love god,i have no problem with him at all,its just the fan clubs can be a pain;))
I'm in that wagon crossy :D
well said, crossy
When you think of the atrocities committed by those 'holy men' in this country, I really do wonder!
climbing on!
here ruby,have a seat
I think we are all shaken by the revelations!
I've got no problem with God, it's just that I grew up with a Buddhist shrine in the living room!
Any room for a little 'un on that wagon!!
And, may I say, that is the only wagon you will see Soodle on!!
climg aboard! watch for splinters though, and the pine sap! lol
Pass the vodka!
but of course, the grains of the earth!
could I have a clue for lo6/18 please?
for you vegans i have regualr vodka as well as the bacon vodka
I've just reached half but I think this is hopeless. Nice chat, though.
I'll see if the horses will hook to the wagon and take us on a ride too
nice chat indeed, and this grid is kicking my butt

howdy mary,i killed serious about an hour or so ago
I've been reading the chat looking for clues but all I see is food and vodka
believe it or not, I've never tasted a dr. pepper
party time!
oh ruby, you've gotta try one! Yum!
I can give you the er7's
which really, Mary, is much more satisfying..
dr pepper, rots your teeth, I can't afford any more dental work, just paid £200 for a crown

mmmm vodka. what a nice idea
have you ever had absinthe mummy? crossy shows an evil grin....
I did once, Crossy. That was an interesting evening.
I had the real stuff once in Switz\. I'm still here, so I guess it wasn't as bad as its rep
of that im sure nb
no, not fond of green things!!! isn't it illegal in some countries because of the industial strength?
most bars that carry the real thing will limit you to 2
it is mummy,but we carry it here..for 85 dollars a bottle..ouch
no, because of the wormwood component which is supposed to make you go mad -- and then you play babble all the time!
absinthe mixed with apple sours is lovely
mmm
a mad person in babble would just blend right in eh? lol
and grappa, what ever possessed someone to come up with that awful stuff..
you think?
I love grappa!!!
or strega

please someone..what IS the etiqueete when you are speaking with an off shore cutomer service rep for 15 minutes and you absolutely cannot understand her?
I think TO, you may have to simply say good bye and call back hoping for someone else.
my solution is to repeat over and over "i'm sorry, could you please repeat that?" LOLOLOL
@$#!#^^%$#!!
I would say "I'm really very sorry but I cannot understand you clearly, is there someone else who can help me?
i wonder where enlgush was learned -- seems like from watching moveis of teenagers.
ggrrrrrrr
Jean has the most appropriate idea.
you can always ask to speak to a boss. without specifying a reason.
but all she did was keepaplogizing
customer service means customer service, if you are not beinghelped, you need to take another approach
hey red, btw, I hardly EVER hear that LOL
Hi jean and Brid!

hiya
ty, must go calm down. and call again
back for more abuse from this grid
jmithc, I am also here again. 87 to go...
gluttons for punishment?
lol, i feel like i'm slogging through the 5 letter words. instead of 8s or 7s. the 5s i feel like are beating me today.
We are indeed Crazy.

hi anyone, could you please tell me how to find out the answers tomorrow ?
Hi toni. Tomorrow, log in and then click on the box called Archives at the top of the chat log. It will have the list of words.
Thank you bugsaw, love your turtle......
how long have you been playing toni?
I just started yesterday, and I think I like it. Very challenging tho. Had been playing Flip words.
this gets easier as your brain begins to get comfortable searching for words. Also, some words are just here a lot and you begin to memorize them. Like etui
Etui ???? wow thats a new one. I so appreciate your encouragement and helping me out. Thanks again.
most night more people are on helping each other find words and if you need some more help you can click on the green words at the bottom. One is called Lickety's Babble Clues. He provides us with a list of all the words by the first two letters which really helps a lot.
they are all nice people who play this game.
That's what you will find here toni .. Most people are genuinely friendly and helpful, fun and interesting ..
I really get that feeling, that the people who play this are lovely and have fun with it. It is fascinating to read the notes to each other. What a new world !!!!!
It's really kind of a unique community .. Some of us have been coming back for years ..
We have a really wide variety of people from all over the world
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. The Babble journey has begun and I am excited.
Welcome, new Babbler .. I predict it won't be too long before you are enticed to pony up the $15 for a lifetime Pro membership ..
good evening to all and hi toni - saw your post about etui - one of my favorite words (see my profile)
Guess what ? I already have. I signed up last night after my very first game. It just felt right.
Heya jbv ..
Cool .. Click on "My Account" and you can add a picture, flag, and profile if you want to ..
hi tor
Hey eveyone. I'm up way too late. But, it's bugging me that I don't have any CR's after the 8. Any help available?
Sorry ..
bummer
cr 6 - low IQ
What does CR's after the 8 mean ????
cr 6/24 change last consonant
I got nuthin .. Just dropped by to chat ..
cr 5/12 the town cr*** gives the news reports
cr 5/14 and punishment
Looking at Lickety's list of the first two letters, I was asking for clues for any of the words beginning with CR that come after the eight-letter word.
And thanks
toni .. click the link for Lickety's clues .. lower left .. there is a list ..
two more, gwen, do you want clues?
Roger Ebert is a movie cr6/24
I really should be going to bed.....
Yeah, me too ..
Gwen, there is a medical word that starts with cr.....shall I tell you ?
me too - see you tomorrow - good luck to all
I'm still missing the cr6/24 immediately after the 8, and also the 7
But, I must stop. 32 more to go, and I'm up too late. Thanks for the help.
toni .. The convention here is to give hints, not give words ..People will ask for help, but they don't want to be just handed the word .. It is considered bad form to type words from the grid in the chat log
See my hint for example .. I didn't spell out the word, but gave a hint that most people should understand and get the word on their own
Torgone, ah I see, I will adapt to the culture and appreciate your help. I was just so excited to get a long word and a tricky one.......however I do understand.
It's totally understandable to want to share .. You will find as you play and chat that it is kind of one our informal rules .. The "punishment" for typing a grid word in the chat log is to be sent to the penalty box or PB .. It happens when you have your cursor in the wrong spot, or it's a common word used in conversation, but if you see that, that's what it means .. Occasionally we get some trolls who start typing grid words in the chat log or are otherwise obnoxious or abusive, and those people are rather quickly reported to dr_god who built this site, and they can be banned permanently ..
We are quite forgiving of honest mistakes though .. Evidenced by the fact that I am still here .. I make regular trips to the penalty box ..
I frequently log on, say Hi in the chat, and forget to move my cursor and start entering words, and go RIGHT into the PB ..
(((tor))) hey all!!!!
Plus a lot folks here pride themselves on the cleverness of their clues and try to be as cryptic as possible .. It's all part of the game ..
HI stid!!! hugs to you too
(((stidders)))
hey bugs! I am deciding if I want to try for halfway or the whole thing... how hard is the grid today?
don't ask me. I have 47 left and started 1 1/2 hours ago. Spent most of the t4/5 looking not talking
go bugs go!!!
you are so fast tho
I don't know ..I did not participate today ..
no tor? another long babble-less day at work???
say Hi to toni Glanzer stid. She joined up yesterday
hey toni! glad to meet you!
evening all...
hey pini! how was your tuesday? mine was LONG and I have given up on "getting ahead" in homework *sigh*
Yeah . . Trying to improve parts sales in the UK today .. Lots of database lookups and spreadsheets .. and AAAKKK!!!
Hi Pini
bah, humbug. Who needs parts, sales and datasheets? *grumpy mama look* tor needs babble!!!
Extremely busy, stid...got thrown a few loops, but survived until quitting time...going back tomorrow for the next round...
<--glutton for punishment
hi bugs, tor, et al
(((pini))) you just throw some loops right back. *offers extra rope*
<-- glutton for choclit
I really needed babble today, but didn't really get a break (thought about it alot though!)
.. and it was MY idea ..
thx for the rope, stid...will use it tomorrow!
.. and it was MY idea ..
ewww tor *checks tor for fever and strange tropical bug bites* you feeling okay?
tor, I thought it was MY idea!
tor needs a vacation ..
I mean really, W7 was honestly MY idea...
ROFL
my dept head told me to spend my vacation down by taking 6 weeks off next summer!
cha right...like that's going to happen!
(that next summer is Summer 2011!)
yes pini! you can come here! with Koda! and we can hang out and paint each other's toenails PINK (or cobalt blue) and eat TONS of choclits and gossip about tor!
tor could be our cabana boy!!!
oh. that's a long way away. BUT if we BOTH survive until then we could take a cruise together!
sounds like a plan, stid!
oh, wait...who's going to pay for the cruise?
I would gladly be your cabana boy ..
* giggle *
um.... tor can pay for the cruise, because his wonderful plan to sell fog to Londoners will have paid off by then! *bright mama look*
* brilliant! *
I am planning some vacay time at the end of next month ..
I'm taking off a minimum of 2 days each month until Xmas break where I'll be taking 2 full weeks (hopefully)
lucky you, tor! going away? or sequestering yourself in the hottub with babble?
that sounds like a great idea pini.
...I've already allotted extra days in August (babble meet) and September (dau's wedding)...
*confused mama look* WHICH daughter? CAMO mama???
no, the older dau!
Did I miss you on the announcement list? eye sowwy!
WOW. she moves to Virginia and hooks up? *faint* I guess Virginia IS for Lovers! rofl
M's mom!
ROFL
Driving up to San Fran for Maker Faire and staying some to just bum around, explore, take pictures, etc. for a few days ..
come on up a little further, tor, and you'll us in the PNW!!! I think I'm only another 8 hrs or so from SF!
what a fun thing to do tor. I bet you'll have a grand time
(along with a few other ORs and then there's WA just a little further)
"only" *choke, chortle* or so...
Why isn't "iceham" a word?
(if you get that far, might as well hit up CAN, too!)
hi greedy...
I've driven that route .. It's murder ..
not sure, but it'd have to be in Enable to be useable...
but there are so many cool faces along the way, tor! hopefully, we'd not be too brutal!
Only joking. :)
hey greedy. not all real words count and not all fake words don't... welcome to our world!
are you new, greedy?
Yes. Just started yesterday.
I don't have that much time (can't afford that long a trip yet) ..
Well, welcome aboard...you're in for a great ride!!!!
I "Stumbled" here.
Glad you made the "trip!" LOL
Thanks.
We're all pretty friendly so jump right in!
that's okay tor, I can't afford to go see my grandmother in L.A. right now either. Someday I hope... before it's too late.
oh pini, you're just on fire tonight! LOL
me? fire?
This is cool.
This will be my first real vacation in many, many years ..
pretty cobalt blue fire, I believe *checks color swatch* yep.
hi TB...
* giggle*
hi pinikula
I know the feeling, tor...last trip I took was in 1996!
It's only 9:45 here.
(OK..."real" trip anyway)
good for you tor. I hope you will actually take time to RELAX on the vacation, and not just feel you have to fill it with activities (that is what I did on my spring "break" and ended up not resting before the new quarter at all...)
same here, TB...where are you?
Washington
what makes "real" -- Tom and I took a trip to see Granny in 2003, and then Mother and I took the boys later the same year.
Cool! I used to live up there...many babblers up in that area!
same here... state and time, TB
Where are you now?
<-- Oregon
Yeah, i like Washington, very pretty.
But the weather sucks, on the western part.
Which is where i live.
That's the idea, stid .. a couple activities planned .. then just do whatever or not do for a few days ..
help on the i on the bottom row so I can finish with NBT please?
Stid...my "real" vaca in 1996 was 21 days traveling through Europe... haven't had a vaca like that since; little 1-2 days every now and then since...
<-- don't have it
good for you tor *approving mama look* you deserve a quiet, pleasant time
It's the same one I need for NBT!
oops. *heads to PB*
I know what you mean, TB...used to live in the Seattle area...
Gotta love the PNW...our informal motto is: We don't tan, we rust!!!
Yeah, the weather here is bipolar.
to say the least!
Hahaha perfect motto.
I don't rust, I MOLD.... *sprinkles mildew on choclits*
* giggle *
hahahah
cake, anyone? *wicked mama look*
Rust never sleeps ..
Greedy, did you finish the grid?
What am i supposed to do exactly?
<-- concentrating on that elusive I
make words, TB...
Not even close.
Can you be more specific?
you've got about 9 minutes before the new grid appears...plenty of ti4 to read the HELP above the chat log to get you started!
Beware: Babble is addictive!
find words in the yellow tiles and type the words in the "add word" box under the tiles
oh... duh.
it's a lot like boggle
me either, Greedy!
<-- love playing Boggle!
if you wait just 8 more minutes, a new grid will start and then you will have 24 hours to find all the words
the grid changes every 24 hours (10:00pm PST)
there are 199 available today...
* snap * stid!
What if you finish it?
so, no one has a word from that lone I at the bottom?
hi all - is this a tough grid today or is it just me?
ITEM
you get fireworks if you finish!
I still don't --- not even halfway, and not NBT. I am never going to live this down!
hi babbz
hey babbz... seems tougher to me than normal
it's a toughy, babbz
I have 87 more to go...
i thought maybe the brainwas working at half mast
(at least I broke 100) ;)
go pini go!
120 here
i have like 128 to go!!
I think it's very tough!
go babbz go!!!!
I mean, I still need 120
lol you are funny stid!
Hi Stid and Pini
still can't find that I! :(
luckily Tom is bringing me choclit cake for consolation
hey DR. how's jake?
just here to check out the flip
I want some!
that sounds good. Do you have a Portillo's by you Stid?
Hey DR!
Hi Stid! He is happy to be back in school
Hi Pini !
what's a portillo? wine?
Well, narrowing it down, that I must be an ic6, ic7, ic5, or ir6
I think mine are too, DR. they miss their friends when it's break ti4
Wefound out that his teacher is changing to 8th grade next yeat
* year
I can't remember where you live, but around the Chicago area, we have a chain called Portillo's and they have the most amazing chocolate cake
everyone orders it for birthdays...it's to die for
thanks pini *thinking slowly*
I've never heard of Portillo's out here on the West Coast...
Hello all
