jilli have you got eT 7?
no, diz *looking*
actually its a 6/7
diz, I rarely see the long ones quickly -- that's why I did better with the last grid -- mostly little words
lol Jilli, I get a lot of the biggies from the clues
if you get the et 6/7..chop the e off and you'll get a to 5/6
well, just giving the lenght of a word (which is right there in Lickety's list) doesn't work as a clue for this dummy
et think alaska's motto or "star" in french
thx dart, got 'em.
thanks for the et words
ty dart
et6 du nord
didn't know that was Alaska's motto.
No French stars there...
think it is..might be mistaken

thy anike
jilli....just looked it up...that motto is for minnesota...lol where i live...must have been in some deep memory bank here
that's ty
No worries
that's a hoot, dart!
el7 is not happening for me
never know what you might find in the deep recesses of this mind lol
el7 is . . .
I think
el + v*****(sight)
thank you aniek
ho7 please?
el is the omission of a vowel, consonant, or syllable in pronunciation. I was thinking of ellipsis.
I wanted elide to be in this grid, but the el7 will do. Hello everyone!
hi doug
hello Douglas
ho7 = ho + 3rd vowel + s 4/6
Hello jilli, flosey
ty Anike
ty again anike (weird one)
I wanted a T in there
I've found two words in tonight's grid that were in last night's microgrid
I looked that one up - I wanted a T too jill
I should go and finish the laundry - any other clues?
You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, etc. etc.
I see it means the same thing
too many needed, anike! Happy laundering ;)
Yes jill - just an old form of the same word
And thanks again, anike
nite all..early morn tomorrow

Don't people dip things in hoisin sauce at Chinese restaurants? Help, jilli!

You're supposed to say "Trudging off to PB, but hoping for yummy snacks."
ah, finally monkeyed li5 and 6
thanks Jilli for the li 5 & ^!
will have to look up the meaning later
PB for me? Hmmmm
flosey, you'll have to google it -- no def here -- it was italian currency before 2002
You said si4/6 in front of God and everybody!
si 5/12?
oh, thanks jilli
oh, I see why the PB, silly me! *trudges off, hoping for yummy snacks with no calories"
SingSing for Jilli!
No food in SS
The ice world of Hoth, home of the rebel base in The Empire Strikes Back, is in the grid
joining me in the PB, saan, doing double time?
si 5/12 please?
don't have that one ru, sorry
don't have it, ruru

the train from NYC to Mtl used to pass under SS (Ossining, NY)

Congrats RUru!
night... long day today in the dentist chair...ugh
oh, not nice ru
*poof*
Yay ruru! When the root canal ends, say "Thank you, sir! May I please have another?"
ewww, ruru -- have a good rest!
does anyone have a clue for the sy7?
ruru's dentist prob used it!
something you might use to syphen ?
oh, of course -- ty dipp
and flosey
yw
Appreciative of help on et6/18 and ho7/40. Pleasantly surprised to find I reached nbt sometime ago
ho7 gerund ending
et6 is a french star (6 is pl)
"Now I know you won't repeat this, strictly entre nous..." but entre is not in the dictionary
thanks Flosey!
e + work + vowel and pl
yw saan
crazy -- french is ok for the star but not for entre
I need te6 please?
so do I
and so do I
once through the list and 18 left
anyone have to5/10 and the following to6/18 (the first one)
?
to5/10 work with a vowel
ty flosey, fishslap for me
to6 - not the liberals
I had that one, thanks
sorry, didn't read fully!
rh6 please?
How many rh6s are there in the English language?
rh + vowel + a rocky hill or mountain
one too many for me Douglas
ty FM
yw
Morewords gave 19, a number of which are commonly used
te6/21?
don't have it jilli
ty for the rh6, FM and hi
still looking Jilli
HAd to look up the def for the te6: A voiceless unaspirated stop in ancient Greek. The mind boggles.
Tonight we are slaves to no one...except the rhythm!
morning all
te6/21 = number after 9 + vowel + 3rd person singular
Phew hard ones to clue and greetings all
I only said that because rhythm is one of the commonly used rh6's
Time for breakfast, back in a bit.
enjoy, FM
bye FM *still puzzling over the te6 clue*
Yeah! NBT!
wtg kimm!
looks like I am having one of my invisible days.
Yay kimmtoats!
te + sometimes this grid can be a ****ance
finally got the te6
Yay kimmtoats!
got it before your excellent clue, flosey, but thanks
good for you jilli
haha! Thanks! You guys can call me kim.
hi everyone
the 3rd person singular had me baffled -- if "of 'to be'" had been added it would have helped.
me too
hi sandy
hi Sprite
hi sandy
can't believe how long it took me to get ri4/6, ugh
sprite, I'd never heard of Princess Sissi or any of that story! And you found a really good picture of a nene.
does anyone have a clue for re7 please?
ah, I seem to be uncloaking all of a sudden. Hello again. And thanks jilli.
re7 is the present tense of those double-cooked beans
good morning everybody
morning rubyfoo
hi ruby
hi ruby
sprite, obviously everyone doesn't want you to get the idea that you are incredibly popular
I think so. Nothing like a bit of ignoring to get the message down!
thanks jilli - took a bit of thinking
was thinking of boston baked!!
wow, to many friends here!
hi ruby
this looks like a nice grid, better than yesterday's....:(
tr7/40 the shape of the girl guide badge
so many* still sleepy - husband let me sleep in 'til 8:30!
aw that is sweet, rubyfoo
sine
oops I'm out of practice sorry
how are you feeling, sprite?
Sprite I hope you have not been ill
slept well, slightly better again, thanks rubyfoo for asking.
my "mystery" white tulips finally opened and are gorgeous - 2 shades of pink, shite and green, not quite parrot
sandy: yeah, quite a while already. But getting a bit stronger every day now.
white* sorry, bad ruby!
oh, lovely ruby, I love tulips
they sound pretty
and Fireworks
many of them come and go, lasting just one or two years but some multiply
thanks everyone for great clues
gratz
congrats flosey, smart flosey!
Sprite, that's no good, you have to keep well to keep playing
wd flo
would never have finished today without the clues
well I am back to playing regularly now, sandy, so that is ok :)
and good to have you back sprite
it's good exercise, lol
thnx
wow, this cat just cannot get enough head rubs tonight
off to bed, early pool exercises tomorrow, goodnight all
night flosey
yestyerday was gardening and cooking; I was flat out collapsed by the evening, ended up taking a nap before doing dishes, a first!
nite flo
sounds very good, rubyfoo
ergent
LOL
nice try, sandy :)
pool exercises are the best, I've heard, flosey. I get no real exercise beyond stairs (many many) and the above and, of course, babble
just thought I'd try it -I know its not a word
must be more vigilant
that is part of babbling. Sometimes they are words! Even if you were certain they couldn't possibly be. I tried it right after it appeared in chat, just to be sure.
this grid is harder than I first thought. Hmm.
Oh -- was watching Jon Stewart and missed flosey's fireworks -- sorry! YAY flosey!!!
Actually, I'm ok with joie not being a word
genius is a nice phantom!
doesn't apply to me, of course....
takes one to find one
Sprite, was just reading your icon blurb-very interesting and Terra looks so gorgeous
thanks sandy!
oh and I love the phrase icon blurb!
Pleased that there are two words with "ion" in them
Pleased that there are two words with "ion" in them
sandy -- my writeup is almost the same as sprite's -- just tweaked a bit.
oooh Jilli, I will read it as well- I'll have to get back into the icon thing , I always did like that
that was helpful, douglas, clues without being too obvious! ty
Jilli, just been perusing your great photos. Do you show Danes?
we have many lovely themes coming up, sandy! Looking forward to your contribution, always interesting :)
we did, sandy, many years ago
* * fireworks * *
gratz jilli
yay, jilli!
Yay jilli!
can't keep my eyes open any longer. see you all tomorrow!
g'night kim!
sweet dreams, kimm
Jilli, Do you miss it, I miss showing the horses (but not getting up at ungodly hours to get to shows)
Yes, I've missed the showing and the ringside judging, and I know what you mean about the early rising, which is not my bag at all. In fact, I was being urged to go in for serious judging (I had done some informal assignments) but couldn't face those hours.
Do you breed the dogs now or just keep them company?
But I'm still in contact with some Dane people.
Sandy, I have no dogs or cats now. Did you scroll down to my bio?
I will
I used to sy the first 50 were easy -- not today lol
see you later, I had better get dressed and start the day. ((hugs to all))
Ruby, this hasn't been an easy grid. Do you need clues? I have to go to bed soon, but can stay a little longer.
ok, bye ruby!
Jilli, How funny, I used to work in labs as a neurohistologist, I am currently painting using acrylics, we have done some obedience with our dogs- seems like we have something in common
and I watch Corrie
sounds like it, sandy! What kind of dogs?
We have two jack russels (very clever and well trained) and a border collie (smart and sneaky) I also used to breed mini poodles
wow, those dogs must keep you going! Not exactly couch potatoes!
The border is a big couch potato - she is a "Borderfame" border strictly bred for the bench- but we do live on 8 acres so they are not restricted a lot
Have a look at this: http://tinyurl.com/y2ujv2a
is it the brits got talent site and which one ?
i know the dancing dogs!
didn't you watch the clip?
just did, fantastic isn't it?
Talk about well trained! I think the dog is an Aussie, isn't she?
not sure , im off the site now
or part Aussie
never mind -- anyway, I have to go to bed -- what time is it in Perth?
Can't see nothin' in front of me Can't see nothin' coming up behind I make my way through this darkness I can't feel nothing but this chain that binds me
poor doug!
dont think I can see those ion words doug
yes! just found one
Here's a slightly more detailed hint: in one word, ion is a prefix, in the other, it's a suffix
got the suffix one
I was using the Boss to clue a word, jilli...I'm ok...
There are two words at least where a UK spelling is used, I think
Sorry, Doug, I'm not up on Springsteen songs.
Sandy, I see it's 3:56 pm in Perth -- it's 12:56 am here so bedtime -- good afternoon/night all!
It's a great song...on further review, I wish he had performed it at the Super Bowl, but I didn't feel deprived at the time that he didn't
UK endings, yes
And now *poof*
nite Jilli
(Sandy, if you want to follow icon themes, the next one is Teiid day) --- and *repoof*
Back again, had breakfast, been to the post office and done the shopping and it is still only 9.10am. If only I could be this productive for the rest of the day!
Hello everyone. My god! is that Sandy I see!
Hi lynxx! Yes it is Sandy back in the babble world :)
Morning FM. Katie is going to be very happy today
Oh why is that?
she is to fly out for her next holiday early next week, was a bit fraught
Ah yes of course!!! Airports are opening up all over today :)
the whole family has been fraught :)
Hi mari
hi Mari, that's right you are off too aren't you
Hi all
Where are you all heading off to?
Yes now off to town - clutching Katies list
Maldives via Dubai
lol meant where for the hoiday.
oh how lovely!
Yay Fireworks!
Hooray for FM!
NOW what are you going to do?
sorry got thrown off I think the Katie thinks the Maldives should be on our "bucket list" although we are not thinking of passing on just yet :)
wish a 500 grid would come along
Guess I had better get on and do some work :( but will be lurking too :)
but I could be purswaded to stay and chat or clue or just hang around.
Just make sure there is a lot of other trips on the bucket list Mari
bye all now I'm a woman on a mission lol
and please forgive the horrendous sp
I thought it was on purpose! don't you want a cat?
bye Mari
oh and now the phone is interrupting brb
fireflies...
Congrats Douglas!
Thanks lynxxx...good night all
back, hello all
hi Sprite
hey lyn :) How are you today?
Hi spritey sprite, great write up in you bio!
I am very well Sprite. You and yours?
hi FM! And thanks :)
we are fine, lyn, thanks. Glad you are very well!
Must bid adieu for now as work is calling. Happy Babbling.
have a good day at work, FM, and *hugs*
Bye FM
a round 25 left for the morning. Bye Sprite - have a good day!
nice job, lyn, have a grand evening
hi, back, dressed, cleaned up kitchen, unloaded groceries, tried to photograph "mystery" tulips and a few minutes to try to reach half :(
why the sad face, rubyfoo? Sounds like a productive morning.
but very poor at the grid; I think my mind isn't on it these last two days or else the grids are getting harder
yesterday's wasn't easy on relatively 'new' babblers. Today's starts easy enough but really gets harder later on.
however, it's nice to have the studio open to the garden and hear the birds
I hope you are open to finding french words, there are some in this grid!
you're kidding! I'll have to look
Hi ruby, hi sprite!
let me know if you would like clues :)
hi sally. Sprite just told me there are French words; you'd think I would spot them tout de suite!
hey Sally :)
There are? I have 34 to find, not sure if I already have any French ones.
Ah yes, I see the stars!
I wd never have seen them, thank you
yay ! Two down then. At least 2 more to find, and maybe a 3rd.
oh and drop the first letter of the stars
Quite common in babble. I also have one which I know as a kind of lettuce.
Done that, thanks sprite :-) Also have the cake.
now I'm over half with thanks to my friends!
and then the big river, NOT!
party and lord are in too
Hee, hee, I see my lettuce is /not/ the dictionary definition.
lol no, the river will not work. Capitalised. Very frustrating with it so prominent
good morning all. Question for you all.
hi red
??
I had an MD appointment this morning at 7:30 not my regular doc but the one I see for my foot. its 1 hour away.
ty for the lord, sprite. Didn't think of the party word being French, because we use it quite a bit in English.
I woke up today with a ton of vomiting etc, and I feel terrible, dont want to drive, but the MD is making a special trip in to see me, as its his vacation....
soooo...do I cancel, as I really am feeling the worst I have in years? Or try to do the drive...
that's terrible, red!
is it difficult roads?
Hi red. Could someone else drive you?
Postman, brb
No Sally only th dog!
I wouldn't take an autoroute!
either have somebody drive you, red, or cancel. No driving when sick. And please be gentle with yourself.
you need to be on a road where you could pull over to throw up
Al I want to do is sleep, that patient that gaveme this gave it to me good.
is it flu?
if you don't need treatment for this vomiting business, go to bed and get that sleep, red. You know as a pro that sleep is the best healer and your body knows it too.
I'm sure the MD would understand; he wouldn't want to catch it either and spoil his holiday. Can you reach him on his cell?
I think it is a stomach virus, it seems to be going around. I've had a ton of patients with it this week, all feeling lousy, now I see why...
I can, but, its 5:30 in the am here. Appointment is at 7:30. I always wonder how early do I call. I may just go. If I can swallow this medicine, at least I can get rid of fever.
wait an hour and call him; I would think he'd appreciate being warned
call, darling. The man is a doctor, he is used to being called early. I bet he prefers being called early to getting there for nothing.
yes, then he wont have to get up at all. Or I may try to tough it out, sort of hard to get an appt with him.
or catching the dreaded stomach virus!
unis
yes, no one wants this...
must go, see you after lunch. Feel better, Red!
you will get a new appointment. Advise yourself like you would advise a patient in similar conditions. Call and go to sleep :)
bye rubyfoo
I am going to go sleep for one more hour.
thank you all for the logic.
very hard to be logical when sick. Get better soon, red, and be nice to yourself.
TY all. It shall pass soon I hope.
I hope so too
fireflies. Bye all.
Hi everyone!
Good morning, Brooke, and anyone still here.
Good morning scrabbler!
This grid is a tad more promising than yesterday's!
I woke up and hoped I had another few hours to sleep but it was 5 minutes before the alarm would go off.
I finished yesterday's in 15 min.
At least you woke up on your own volition and not at the prodding of an alarm clock.
Congrats on finishing yesterday's so quickly!
Yes, that was good. I don't like having a good dream ended with beeping.
I signed on last night just to check the grid and say hello. With 41 words I decided to use the list and finish.
Unless you can incorporate the beeping into your dream.
And sometimes I do.
Are your kids still sleeping?
Gotta go now. Have a wonderful day!
Ooh, sorry, I didn't see your question...
Bye Brooke.
My 8 year old is with his father right now, and my 2 year old is awake but talking to himself happily.
Cute--hearing toddlers amuse themselves.
Going for real now. Happy babbling, Scrabbler! (poof!)
*flops* hiiii!
morning Ata
or late morning?
very late morning :)
Hey Ata and bo.
hi FM
FM"
!!
Have been dipping in and out of the log this morning.
Hello fellow Babbleonians
hi gramma
Hey gramma!
just got back from a long wander on the beach looking at green paddleworms
What in the world are green paddleworms?
Bliss I am sure! :)
Lovely day here too so far.
tiny wee little wiggly bright green worms that live on mussel beds
I'll have to check that out
LOL spot the biologist :)
they are cute :)
only a biologist would say that :) or another paddleworm!
lol
but but they are!
Ok we get the point - so put up a pic of them so we can go all gooey :)
I will in a sec ... just downloading my pics!
*grin* just so knoew you would have pics to share.
*if* any turned out ok. the little buggers were wiggling around
Sits patiently and stocks up the PB whilst waiting.
getting there! I'd like chocolate cake, please
Funnily enough the chocolate cake will be ready just about the time your pics are uploaded, how funny is that :)
HAve a glass of champers to be going on with.
hi, all, talking of cute, i've just been looking on you tube at the birds at the barbican. they are part of an art exhibit and when they land they trigger
electronic sounds - really sweet
Hello Ggirl
Hello f mitch. are you incarcerated?
hmmm I don't think I'm very good at photoing paddleworms LOL
I will have to have a look at that on youtube
one of them is trying to make a nest in a guitar
Footloose and fancy free here and have heard a few jets flying over today.
it's still beautifully quiet in Birmingham
Enjoy it whilst you can.
i'm off to my art class in a few minutes, but hope to get into the garden when i get back
ok, this is NOT a very good pic, but you can see it's green and has paddly feet!
TTFN then Ggirl and have a good day.
by fm and everyone
ooh they are really green aren't they!
really green!
some are even brighter than that
Gonna have to love and leave you - time for lunch Back in a bit.
oooo lunch. goo d point!
:)
helloo again! Is anybody still there?
Hello Ruby
This ONLY thing I'm afraid of is worms.
Hi scrabbler; all this talk of marine worms has made meshuddery
I am not afraid of worms but they gross me out.
the, not this*
Worms are our friends, if you're a gardener
They do help the soil--they make soil.
I have thousands of wrigglers in my compost turning waste into glorious compost
OK, I don't mind earthworms in the garden, it's the maggots or others inside that spook me.
I'd rather see a 10 ft Burmese python!
Maggots, ugh. Disco dancers
than a maggot in the trash or is a cauliflower!
But doctors use maggots to clean up rotting flesh
I know; they'd have to sedate me VERY heavily\
in a cauliflower. Typing is poopy today
this grid is twice as large as yesterday's and just as difficult
I have found 43 so far.
yes, I am looking forward to the next big one. Even though I almost never finish, at least the big ones are fun to do
I have 14 and am struggling
I worked on this for more than an hour when I got up and got 56, but it's fini for me, I fear!
Gotta get ready for work. Bye.
I went to Lickety's and been clicking along. 28 left
bye scrabbler!
Bye Scrabbler
hi gramma
hi ruby
I've been monkeying sort of at random, and have gotten a couple more
dumb words, though
I love when you hit the little question mark and it comes up ...Did you mean..? no definition
lol
I left my husband a note this AM and said lol; he though I meant lots of luck....
That's great. There is someone out there as dense as me.
I guess it's a generational thing....LOL
Any clues for the re7?
good morning all:) my first word is sy 7/44,so there may be hope with this grid;)
sorry, don't have it
I got the jo 7
Hey crossy
re7 - puts the food in hot fat again
ty
You're welcome and good morning all.
ty haz
Have you been lurking?
another word for a needle is the sy ruby
sy?????
I don't lurk, I observe silently.
beautiful, crossy! ty
crossy, talk to us about this sy7 word.
just did
except for the occasional barking, haz lol
Haz, I don't usually look at the chat until I've accomplished a bit.
Injections, needles, plunger mechanism...
Yeah you did. sorry
You're very disciplined, gramma.
discipline, can barely spell it, let alone live it!
I was on earlier and got some words done.
were you lurking scathingly??
You know me, Ata, I scathe and scathe.
hahah

Ata's in mischevious mood today.
Hello peri.
Hi Peri, Haz ruby et al
rubyfoo had 3 grappas with lunch, I'm surprised I can sit up!
elegant *is* a good word though!
io6 - incorporating our old friend the charged particle - take the l from the front of the li7.
It's the proper, British spelling.
ty Haz, don't have the li7 but will look
old friend io + l***IZE : TO PUT ON A PEDESTAL
oioh caps, sorry
time to lie down, sleepy nel
grappa does that :P
dealing with mr. nasty, it surely helps
I bet!
Perhaps the expression comes from the four li**s at Trafalgar Square, they're on pedestals, aren't they?
they are indeed
en 6?
it's like the prima ballerina but w/an n

I bought 3 pair of th5 underwear recently and tried a pair on, OMG, what was I thinking. I gave 2 pair to my niece :-)
hahah, peri
peri, I don't get it either.
So they really are as uncomfortable as they look?
or else they disappear.....
not only are they uncomfortable, unless you are under age 20 they will not be flattering
sorry, that's a little rough....
I am tall and thin but unfortunately my rear end is not as firm as it used to be LOL
I am small and thin and rear end has disappeared!
where did it go, ruby?
into the hinterlands
I look like a small boy
very depressing
:(
you can wear padded undies
hah, jean
is there such a thing?
You realise that we are talking about ne6/21 regions?
Just in case you don't have the word..

hi hoot
hi Mom
ARRGH! drives me mental,i yell at my kid for 45 minutes to get up for school,he gets up at the last possible second, farts around for a bit, then asks me to run him in or he will be late!! not bloody likely! get walking kid and i hope you enjoy writing lines for being late! grrrr!
not a large board but it bites

you can vent on us anytime

Can't be driven mental if you already are
ok
hi herin
ty herin..i think lol
I had a really bad headache this morning, so didn't want to drive anywhere until ibuprofen worked etc. He sat by me, glaring, and demanded a lift every 2 or 3 minutes.
MY ex just had to be waited on hand % foot til he left and I could get dressed. That way, I was the one late for work! And we both worked for the same company!
Very hard to explain to a supe that you had to do hubby before you could get dressed :(
id tell him to go pound sand lol
annoyances!
since im the only driver,we do not have to juggle a single car thankfully
well I guess I did when I divorced him!
LOL hoot!
you all should tell your hubby stories to my mrs...she may realize how good she has it;)
BF is a grownup. Gets up on his own, finds his clothes on his own, gets dressed on his own and even gets lunch from freezer. S9ometimes I don't even know he's gone til 2-3 hrs later!
crossy - did you check out the recipe on hoots profile - bacon muffins - yum
wish husband was
i have that one already mom and they are yummy indeed! they are a heavy muffin but great to put beside a pile of scrabbled eggs and cheese;)
the buttermilk and your choice of bacon will make or break this muffin
I think the 2 biggest diff between the 2 is ex was youngest (and spoiled) and BF is ret Navy. Much more discipline!
halfway. looks like this is going to be a difficult one
i use a very strongly smoked apple wood bacon:)
I guess I have to change recipes huh?
opps I got destracted

Oh boy! I can't get apple anymore here.
orymel makes it hoot

I live in Memphis, Tennessee, armpit of the USA! When the economy went south, so did most of the half-wat decent food! Now the bare necessities at prime prices.
;(
Ok Have a funny on behalf of tormenting my mother
hi herin
is that not where everyone goes to be the next singing star?
I doubt it
I told my mother that I was on the bus after dark as I didn't like the option of train. And mum is all ''I don't like you on the train/bus at night you should stay home after dark. To which I said ''Why some poor guy was murdered in the station carpark at 8am
i could never torment my m-i-l as well as she can mess with me,cause she works on the wife and the wife goes at me;(
herin - your mom sounds like mine - best to just ignore caue they won't listen to reason and you are a grownup now
clue for el 7 pls
Welll I see her point of view. I had to go to one of the worst stations today
... and Fireworks!
et 7 is pl of et 6
i tell the wife this about her mom,if she (my wife) stops telling her mom all the minutae of our lives in great detail every day,she will not have any ammunition to work with.for example,my da does not know or care what i wear, what i feed my kid,or how i get to and from work lol
but you can't stay locked in a house for the rest of your life either. And nothing to stop "them" from entring the house
yaa for merk!
No I can't But honsetly this station is dodgy. I hid my ipod down my bra
congrats Merk
but i guess its a woman thing..back to the grid i go ..sploosh
Herin see if you can get hold of a piece of 50-100strand wire about 10-12" long. Makes a great cosh and you can cerry it in your bag. It will break an arm
morning everyone
Crossy, it really isn't a "woman thing" I have never ever discussed details like that with my mom nor has my sweetie with his mom
clue for te6/21?
good morning Mom
good morning boobear
When I left NY I had one in the car about 14" doubled and taped for a handle. Got stopped by a cop, he saw it on seat next to me. Not a twitch.
morning Grant, I don't have it but will help you look
MOM.
{{Herin}} good morning
me neither. HIS mom told me to divorce him. I think youe MIL needs a job or something to diflect the attention away from wifey
A good MIL or Parent respects your life's choices even if you do goof up and that is when they help
Actually. I just stumbled on it: nine, te*+ Lo*** the XIV

**after I go look at Herin's kitchen**

I was saying Oh Hoot because your MIL said to divorce him
aaah
that is one tiny kitchen Herin
Herin that is truly minimum requirements = sure it's not an RV?
no there'd be windows then....
Hoot, I think an RV kitchen would be larger
Nope that is a house. And not the tiny scale of the kitchen is my fail. Look closer at the two benches
Good morning, Earth dwellers. What's cookin?
Hi Judi
I don't see two benches Herin
en6 en + to4/4
morning, all
Hi Judi and Une
Hi Une
:-D
Morning all
The kitchen has two um side boards?
Morning all
Morning all
I see a top cabinet and a bottom cabinet
she surprised me too Mom. She had been invited for dinner and he was in basement on CB. When I called him up to eat he put on a glorious display of fury at being interrupted! He didn't usually do stuff like that with witnesses around. He stormed back down the stairs and she lokked at me ans said it. No hesitation at all. We remained friends even after the divorce
Yes look at the bottom cabnet
four draws, two doors but I only see one leg holding it up
Damn. I wish I could access tinyurl from work. Blocked.
drawers*
oh Hoot, that is terrible for a grown man to act that way
Nope that is what you would call 2 of the best Buffet hatches at there best
just dropped in to say good morning -- gotta run -- back tonite -- have a good day, everyone! *poof*
enjoy your day Une
See ya Une!
Bye Uni
opps Une
well I should get off here and start my day as well. {{Hugs}} to all of you.
I was watching Ellen DeGeneres the other day. She was goofing on mispellings in advertisements. Real Estate was the subject of the day. One actually said: "Spacious home. Extra large dick!"
bye Mom - see ya later
Lol Judi. Now this kitchen is the worst I have seen
Ellen then said, "No thanks. Not what I'm looking for. Not interested. Maybe somebody else, but not me."
bye bye Hoot
By MOM
I remember house hunting when we were first married. We were relatively poor, so couldn't afford much. We saw so many "bedrooms" that were obviously closests, it wasn't funny.
you know herin I think I saw that kitchen on HGTV the other day. I find it amazing the tiny spaces they offer for soooooooo much money.
Hmmm Judi...we live in a closet ;) but a cosy closet...
hi NB
Hi, Hootowl :) sorry to just barge in!
why? we all do :D
Hiya, Nancy Boy. Glad you're cozy. Maybe someday you can move up to a shoe box!
NANCY
*barges*
Mom you couldn't have this kitchen is in an Aus place. IT is truelly shtt
Judi the best '3rd bedroom'' we had was at my old house. It was a double bed in width
well it has the basics herin. Just needs light, air, dish washer, table .... what did I leave out?
Our first house was much the same, herein. It was a gorgeous lot and a beautiful spot, but the house was a tiny money pit.
Taste Hoot Taste
THAT can be fixed!
My friend listed on his rental condition report next to lights as ''hideously ugly
No really it can't there is one wall in that house that is so close to the wood heater there is a black mark on the wall
honesty IS the best policy!
hmmm...ours is a slightly crumbling, tiiiiny apartment with an x-rated neon sign shining through one of the windows and some nosy neighbours looking through the others!
Your friend should be commended for his honesty, herein. Real estate listings can be so misleading.
are you actually right in the middle of soho, NB?
What does the X-rated neon sign say, NB?
Nancy you are in London you expect nothing short of a flee pit were you are my dear?
My Grannie said that Soho was a bad bad place so Mum never did buy a property there
well without seeing it I really can't judge but Something probably could be done to make it better...even demolition
loooool yes, soho is a den of iniquity
oh no no, we're tucked away in the outskirts. But it's very obvious that we live in a real live vice quarter, lol
Judi...too x-rated for the chat!
Well, now I'm really curious. Take a pic and post it as your icon.
probably "live sex show" Judi :P or worse?
Silly Grammie. My mum could have made a fortune
cum on we're all adults here!
Aren't we?
Hmmm. *wondering if NB street is on Google Streets*
in actual years, just about! mentally, well ..... :)
well dismiss mentally...
I'm not ;) oh wait...no, yes I am. Wow, that's scary
We're all... adult-ish.
we are all over 21!
I'm not, Hootowl!
physically
why do i have a feeling it is for Thai Lady boys doing things that are nauthy
I know you're not
do I want an explanation of thet herin?
LOL Herin. I'd be anxious living close to that. With my looks, mistakes can be made...

omg D just bought a water softener system for us. guess how much it cost
350.000
HAte to think! How much has he spent?
in which currency? lire?
£1700
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll have lovely soft water for that price.
(I'm typing on autopilot, I've fainted)
better do!!!
good lord!
Had you perceived a huge problem with your water up to now?
They must love it when D goes shopping at the local shops .
well, we *do* have hard water, but ....
And this is from the man who tries to cut his own hair to save money.
I am flabbergasted.
I know ........
He must have had a lot of dodgy haircuts to be able to save up enough money for soft water.
And Hobbit being shorn like a sheep - all for the soft water fund.
yep *sigh* idiot man
I nearly fainted
Is the deed done? Is it bought already?
yes!!
No 14 day cooling off period or anything - the think again clause?
"Shaun the Sheep" now there is a funny prog (Train of thought)!
Agreed, FM. I think Aardman are geniuseseseses.
love Shaun the Sheep, FM, and realise that yet again, ive missed it on the cchildren's programme
te 6, please?
darn you are right Ggirl it was on at 3.55
te6 - te plus French night, changing the last consonant for another.
if i'm here tomorrow at this time, could you remind me?
nope. it's here now
lol if we are on at this tme we will ahve missed it again :)
you know what i mean:)
I've met Nick Park *smug*
so tell us more, Ata
ty haz
am going back to bed for a bit not feeling too good today, want to snooze a bit more so TTFN.
I don't kiss and tell, unlike Haz
Oooh! He seems like a nice man. I warmed to him when the studios burned down, they lost lots of stuff, but he refused to call it a tragedy because there was a cyclone or something happening at the time and people had been killed.
Bye, FM - sorry you're not feeling so good!
awww feel better!
he seems to have his feet on the ground
And their stuff is just so funny and clever on all sorts of levels.
*!* ta da *!* -- thanks for the help )
he is, he's lovely
Well done, cybernan!
i love the allusions to other films.
hoooooooooraaaaaaaaaay for nan
I'm almost afraid to say it, but summer is here -- off to wash the front windows and hose down the sunscreens -- back at the flip :)
Bye, cybernan.
by nan
a cousin of mine made all the baby chickens for Chicken Run
I bet Nick Park wouldn't spend £1700 on a water softener.
i bet he wouldn't!
this isn't the MOST friendly grid ever, is it?
the people are. the grid isn't
Not the friendliest, no. But lots of babblets.
And hello!
hello :)
i have been revolutionizing my life
i've just monkeyed the weirdest mathematical term. hello hurshy
You've installed a water softener as well?
no, i have city water, it's already soft.
which is too bad, i like the flavor of nice mineral-y water much better
Yes, soft water might be okay to bathe in and wash with but it tastes decidedly bad.
So, what revolution has taken place?
well first off i've been using the wii fit every day before work (and often after, and lots on weekends!)
So you're now fit, toned and healthy?
AND i've revamped my office setup to have a standing desk. i'm going to get a bar stool to alternate, because apparently standing all day is only better for you than sitting all day - switching it up is the best
You've taken all the tales of babble butt to heart, haven't you?
i decided not to wait until the trend sweeps the nation, but to be at the forefront
clue for ge 7 pls
not so much the tales of babble butt, more the NY Times articles
babble-butt! oh, no. no one told me
ge7 - ge plus unwelcome sound
ge+sound
Babble butt - the scourge of the age.
i've already got babble-neck
I've seen those chairs that you kind of balance on. Is a standing desk supposed to be even better for you?
both are better alternatives than regular sitting, that's all i know
anything that has you moving around, using muscles, anything like that.
Babble butt - steadily increasing width of posterior due to lengthy sessions of sitting in front of computer screen. Doctors are fighting to find the definitive cure.
i bet they're not
Oh, indeed they are. They're trying to see if the posterior can be shifted to other areas where more inches might be needed.
it is pretty cool, just this morning i started with the standing and i can dance around a little, step back and stretch - it's much more conducive to doing whatever
nowhere on my body needs more inches
Then you can donate it to the blubber bank. It will be used as a source of renewable energy.
hello all another rainy day here in Maple Ridge
if only that were possible, Haz, i'd be down there like a shot
And are you still feeling comfortable, hurshy? See how you feel at the end of the day, but it sounds like a good idea.
Hello, Barb.
hello Barb. bad luck about the weather. the last person from Canada was having a lovely sunny day
right now, i'm not very comfortable, partly because i had to lift and move things in order to arrange my new setup, and partly because i'm not used to it. i'm going out to buy a stool for back-and-forth at lunchtime.
hello chatters, this game seems like fun?
can anyone help me with ho7 please
because of course, just standing can be hard on the feet.
It is suppose to stop by the afternoon and we are to have sunny/cloudy weather all weekend ...which will be very nice
ho7 - ho plus what Pavarotti replied when someone asked him what he did for a living.
heehee, lovely clue
brilliant clue Haz
Or ho7 - looks like a Chinese type sauce running into a gerund ending.
really can't quite find fathom what to say to D tonight!
brb
Hello, Ogden. It is a fun game.
could anyone clue me si5.12, please?
is there something particular you need to tell him?
si5/12 - the latter part of the word when addressing a French Mr.
ty Haz
that I am somewhat less than amused with him
Ogden. where is your icon from?
but not, like, i'm leaving tomorrow, or anything
say, what's the left i word?
nvm, pulled a peri
now looking for ru5/16
Hello Haz, thats good to hear - seems like fun chat as well
not *quite*
It is - you've been a member for a while, have you not played much?
back
ru5 regretting
Cue chorus of Edith Piaf.....
ty hurshy. banging my head against the wall. how did i miss that?
moi, je ne regrette rien.............
people always admire that whole "no regrets" thing, but i think it's hardly possible unless you just don't care much about stuff.
I registered a long time ago, but never got around to playing, due to time pressure, Haz
you're right, hurshy. if you never regret anything, you're probably a psychopath
Fair enough, Ogden. It does take up a bit of time, but it's a very enjoyable game.
only got four left. can anyone help me with li5/10 and 6/21?
to err is human, to regret is fine.
Right, I'd better get <--------Spangle saddled up and ready for a walk, otherwise, I know I'll regret it.... That proves I'm not a psychopath.

Hello dcseain.

indeed so, red
tr4, tr7 - the tr7 girl scout cookies are tr4 during pesach/passover LOL
Thanks dc, got that immediately!
wow, rare for someone in Britain to get a reference like that. Kudos!
I got it too ;)
Is it? Plenty of Jews here.
Know quite a few.
to5/6 led me to the fabric et6/7
point, pinny and i-mac, that was hebrew, not yiddish :)
It's a common word though, dc.
Had seven years of hebrew classes as a kid (as opposed to zero yiddish classes, but my parents did speak it when they wanted to talk about us kids when we were in the room, so I picked up a few bits and bobs)
You're Jewish then, Pinny?
I'm not.
Shalom chaver
can anyone please help me with ho7?
my mom's family lost a language or two per generation due to that, pinny
Peace...something?
chaver = friend
Shalom = hello
Oh, thanks.
i'm sefardic, so learned ladino, but not hebrew nor yiddish
looking for it, rhondabe
Where from originally?
mom's family - Wales, Prague, and Bratislava
thanks dc
oh, and Germany - bavaria
sien
siet
That's an interesting mix!
german/welsh from her dad, czech and slovak/french/hungarian on her mom's side.
You're Jewish too, dc?
very
A real mix!
very American of us.
officially, but not very observantly, I-Mac
Are you married, dc?
no, Pinny, that's prohibited to us in this state
Oh... didn't realise
Is it? We can marry here if we so choose.
There's goes the chance of our first babble shidduch ;)
same-sex is expressly outlawed here in Virginia. We've talked about going into DC to wed, but next year more likely.
LOL pinny
*gets ready to toss rice for seain's wedding*
hello all
hi, stid :)
If you do though, would you be allowed to live in your own State as a married couple?
that ho7 is tough to find
Hi stid
yes, but with no recognition from the Commonwealth.
That's a shame.
read the decision for Loving v Virginian 1967, if you have not, I-Mac US Supreme Court case overturning antimiscenegation laws - we're up against similar today.
i love that Loving was decided on a technicality - the law discriminated against whites :D
ho7 - make a gerund of ho5
i wondered if that ending would get used
It's a pity in this day and age, there's still so much ignorance and intolerance. I think things are generally better here...but could still improve.
thank dc.
yvw, red
I hate to admit it, but I think Kaopectate has helped me.
quite so, i-mac
why do you hate to admit that, red?
sorry, I wandered off *mentally* are you ill red? **gentle hugs**
Isn't it supposed to help you...isn't that way you have taken it?
I'm too logical.
it tastes terrible.
good clue on the ho 7, thanks
sy7s are used for administering injections, or basting roasts
I have a stomach bug, very unpleasant.
Thanks dc!
thanks for the sy
Tom says that Kaopectate is useless to him since the took the kaolin out of it
well, it does taste baaad.
Kaolin and pectin work well in combination. Apples help too, because of the pectin.
I am the same way as tom, seain -- not only that, they added something I am allergic too...
oh horrible stidmama
here in VA, you can get old formula from a compounding pharmacy with a prescription. That may be the case in WA, too.
3 left...
go pinny go..
2 left...
go pinny go!!!!
thanks for that idea seain, there is a compounding pharmacy (never thought to inquire there though)
And the opposite to you, stid (feel better)!
You're from London too, Pinny?
I am from London
it is a bit pricy, though, as they need to order the kaolin usually.
I have a flat in Wandsworth, work in Chelsea.
refills are usually cheaper, as they have the kaolin in stock then
I've never been to Wandsworth
for NBT, I need the i in the second column please, and the E in the upper left corner?
What do you do, iMac?
I'm in advertising. An account director for an ad firm.
true -- or I could just get the kaolin... I don't care too much about the taste. Luckily I am rarey ill in ways that kaopectate is needed.
io6 - brit spelling for making into small droplets
Stid Mama, one of the e's is el plus an abbreviation for school grdes 9-12...
thanks red!
that is a great clue!
I got that one dc...almost right away. A longer word by starting with a consonant too.
That's cool iMac. How did you find your way to Babble?
yes, this is the first time I have tried it. One of my multiple patients with the same ailment gave it to me.
1 left, by the way!
got the i! thanks seain!
go pinny go!
ty for the L, i-mac
stid did you see my el 4 clue?
el plus abbreviation for hello.
Not sure if I'm going to get this last one! It's hard!
I gave a wrong clue earlier... blame t on ehte upset tum.
down to 45... I am so tired. Came home because the migraine from Monday just isn't abating.
yes red, I did -- and it worked! ((hugs))
what il your last one, pinny?
I heard about and observed it now and then...finally gave it a go to see how I fared. Finished one out of two puzzles so far.
oh, how awful sud
er, stid
( the cat is in my lap making it hard to type)
How awful yes, to have one that long.
it's the rh6 (but don't clue me yet guys)!
The cat here doesn't like to be in laps very often.
I'm not allowing myself to monkey anymore, and only allowed to peek at the list when I've found a minimum of 75% of the words myself - this is Babble EXTREME!
yes, it's not a lot of fun, and it started like a little one, so completely not prepared. But I have an "easy" day tomorrow (working with 8th graders which is fun)
feldspar has been in my lap a lot since the other one died.
LOL pinny!
thats how I try to do it Pinny.
Interesting name for a cat?
More like Babble EXTREMEly time consuming
oh no seain! I didn't know.... I am so sorry **hugs**
well, i had Jasper, named for his eyes, so i called this one Feldspar for her markings, and my sister as Alabaster, named for his beautiful whiteness
ty, stid, that was last July. He had a good 19 years, though
last July??? where have I been!!!!
How many cats have you got there with you?
I'm a FIRESTARTER! Twisted firestarter!
Grandad was a lapadarist, and i sort of carry on that tradition
but I still didn't know (or didn't remember) so I am sorry
currently, one cat and one rabbit
Can't ask for much more from a cat...he had a good innings!
fun song, pinny :)
Do they get along together well?
pinny?
ah, Mother is here with the stidkid. back later or this weekend. **poof**
yes, the cat hunts the rabbit, and the rabbit thinks its dominant, so all good :)
That's my new and overexcited way of announcing that I'm done
Hunts the rabbit? In play?
congratulatiosn Pinny!
thus far in play, yes. happily, rabbit fits places cat does not. he motly stays in his cage
ah! congrats, pinny :D
I see...a definite advantage.
Thanks Red. Now I'm taking my cold pills and my tissues and heading off to bed with my rotten cold
Hoping for a nice 200-ish words tomorrow
g'night and feel better soon, pinny
Congrats on finishing, Pinny...be a while for me yet.
Don't stay up too late, iMac - you probably have some snappy straplines to write tomorrow!
Goodnight all. See you tomorrow :D
I know...hard to stop this though!
Hate not to finish what I start.
else, you find yourself ru5 having starting?

lovely Fall, more like summer! 29 today
so far, we've swung between 90 and 60 F this April. Weee.
79 hre most days... but lots of rain and its not even time for the hurricanes
it's rainy here today, though it's clearing up finally.
rain always means Hurricanes there Red?
No, but we are a little different from the rest of the US, we pretty much have a dry and a wet season. Hurricane season is the wet time.
Starts in June.
wet season around here is oct-mar, though we get almost daily thunderstorms most of the rest of the year
Hi all....clue for the te6 please?
Dc, you guys also have like real spring and real fall, something that florida lacks!
true that, red
there is a te 6? Hi Seaspray howa re you doign?

well DC, you made quick work of that!
great clue dc! ty
ge7 is a kind of oil-based cake
in my mind, that was spelling it out, not cluing it, which i hate to do.
they said earlier that the ge was italitan petit fours made with yellow cake?
Hi red....i did something really dumb this morning...mixed cleaning supplies and thought I was going to die...am doing better this evening...think i get dumber as i get older lol
i know ge7 as a layer between the creme and crust of a fruit tart
well thanks for the spelling then dc

off topic, but what is the latest news abotu the tanker that was threatening to break up near the great barrier reef?
SeaSpray, should you see a doctor?
They got it refloated and away. the Oil spill is fairly light. But there is a massive 3 mile long scar in the reef
Well, I suppose that is fairly good news. It was very upsetting for me to hear about...i am fond of oceans.
lynxxx...daughter says I probably burned my lungs...will see how this evening goes

3 mile long scar on the reef is disturbing
We have a wonderful free telephone service here called Nurses On Line, that is terrific when you are not sure if you should see a doctor or go to hospital. And of course a poisons hot line
yes, but much better than the entire tanker breaking open full of oil.
that is great, Lynxxx, I wish all places had that service. I usually have to take calls from people wanting to know what to do...
are there th words?

unfortunaely it came from the head of the Bergen County Education Association. He has apologized and said it was in poor taste and a mistake. And Christie wants him fired... could you imagine if obama were that thin-skinned, and dictatorial?

i really don't know any more about it than i heard last night, which is why i asked. i just know folks are up in arms about the cost of education, here there are generational wars at council meetings.
hi mom bye mom
oh leaving already
down to 16 and time to list. .. costs of everything are a problem, and money is tight for lots of folks, but drastic cuts to the schools is not the solution! the future is at stake.. things in schools are bad enough these days.. this is cutting it off at the knees
i msut say, here it goes beyond being competitive and prepared for a job. it's about who has the most bells and whistles. And still, johnny can't read.
Hi Momneedshelp and Dorens
I absolutely agree - our schools cut special programs last year so my son now will not be able to take a language in middle school. My daughter had already finished freshman french when she graduated 8th grade. All the extras that are vitally important are being cut - so sad for our kids. And I dont know the half of it......

Bonsoir MOM
You are such a good cluer tho. Please don't leave us totally to ourselves!! Be well soon
why won't it accept "frisee"?
Maybe because there's only one vowel at the end of the word?
hello jacs!
that works for me - thanks Owl & Jac
Hi all. I've been playing Word Tornado in FB and getting sad at how many who play don't bother to chat. (Sez she, who often doesn't chat in Bable these days 'cos she's busy gardening).
neverplayed that
Hi Jacula. I am hoping all the gardeners here will recommend a colour theme for a rhodo garden I am planning.
TO - don't bother unless you just want to compete at a word game and not get to know anyone. Any player that has taken the time to talk to me, I have puit on my Buddy List there.
I've been shamelessly advertising Babble.
y/w lynx.
clue for th 5/16
Hi Bug - in the wild thery're mostly shades or red and pink and can become a weed in certain parts of UK. The LOVE it in Wales.
th5.16 we wear them on our feet but you wear tem on your bums
Boo - type of knickers like a cheesewire up your crack.:-(
ty
I stop by a few places now and then to find out what I have been up to ... I generally am quite pleased to find out I have been good, bad or indifferent ... saves a lot of typing on my part. Even so, I am concerned about amnesia because I do not recall most of what I am accused of.
They love it here too but there are so many shades and sizes. I was thinking red, white and something. Pink would be good
BR the reason you don't remember is because your intention was not to offend. Nothing to worry about if the problem is with the receiver and they won't talk to you about it straight away
Babrab - that happens to me, too. Got a bit a deja vu this week with someone who I was surprised had requested me as an FB friend, since we had disagreed so much on another internet site. She's a self-professed Christian who seems to revel in taking offence at what people say, whether she sees it as a slight against herself or others. No wonder reliigion has caused so many wars if many are like her!
Are you serious BR? or just got too much in your head and forgetting what is not important (that is my story and I am sticking to it!)
I tihink BR is serious, but only because it's what I do, too.
fireworks
well done Boo
ty for all the clues
congrats Boo!
Congrats, Boobear.
I can't stand so-called Christians who seem to fight the good fight at every opportunity. don't accept explantions or even apologies or a plain sorry without some mealy-mouthed thing about 'thank you all for your messages of support and I course I understand what you were trying to say'.
ty BR ..have a goodnite all
there are extremists in every faith Jac.
I wonder what they would do if you told them you were praying for them?
It reminds me of the mad woman from the film 'The Mist'.
don't know that one Jac
Bug - that is certainly so. An Islamic extremist minister apparently told his flockthis week that 'loose women, who wear skimpy clothes are to blame for earthquakes'.
no6/21clue,please?
if it's not one thing its a******, TO
rh clue?
One of my old schoolfriends, who is a university professor, sent that to me a couple of days ago. Her take on it was 'Can we have a headline tomorrow that mad Islamic priests cause earthquakes'?
lol Jac - wonder how that reasoning works
aint it the truth! ;)
hi babblers all.. i am back to try to finsh... 24 left

good evening everyone
Btw, for anyone who doesn't know, I was born just after 4am this morning. So, it will soon be my 53rd birthday. No point in trying to hide my age 'cos DR_God's got the clock ticking very accurately.
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dearrrrrr Jacula, happy birthday to you
happy birthday, jacs!
Happy birthday Jac!! I had no idea. Dr God doesn't email me
Happy Birthday young Jacuila! Hope you get to have a wonderful day ((Hugs))

by lynxx
TO you must announce it. I will gladly celebrate with you cyberly, but I have so many family birthdays I must remember, I have no chance here too. I am sorry you were disappointed
happy belated birthday to you, happy belated birthday to you, happy belated birthday dearrrrr TO, happy belated birthday to you.
no worries, bugs
ty jacs. it was a big one, too, so perhaps better off.
**sets another cake and ice cream out, and a piece of dinner meat for TO**
chicken ws too tough to eat. not overcooked, just tough.
I've just realised that even my Mum never made me a birthday cake. I know both of my Godmothers did once each. My Mum did try to get me a cake for my 18th birthday, and succeeded getting it home from the bakers she'd ordered it from in the end after a dental appointment where she had to have an eye tooth extracted and it made her faint and feel woozy afterwards. She ddid her best.
oh Jacula :(
Jac that is the saddest story I ever heard! How were birthdays celebrated in your family? We always got cake
TO - was it a birthday with an'0' or a '5' at the end? Both are quite 'nasty'.
I honestl;y don't really recall, Bug. I think both of my Godmothers did the parties. I know my Mum only did onem and she didn't wwant me to invite any boys. I invited two and one was a 'bad boy'. There were no more 'parties' at our house after that.
We didn't get birthday parties much but we did get a cake at the family meal
I'd forgotten all of that until just now, and now I understand why I need to relax and enjoy my stepdaughter. 2nd chance daughter.
I love my own daughter more than I can say, but, given what she's been through in the past, she's more generous to friends who need parties. I'm just her Mum; a constant in her life that she probably takes for granted.
when my kids were little they wanted cakes that looked like something so I had fun making whatever they requested. I have made race cars, penguins, pigs, dumptrucks filled with candies, tug boats etc. I loved doing it and just this month I was requested by a grandchild to make her a monkey cake. Now all the siblings want to know why their Dad never told them I had this useless (but fun) talent.
Ditto for my son - but that's a male thing he takes after his father from - woman = food.
I am so glad you found the good thing in this memory coming to the surface. I honestly believe that we are only allowed to remember things when we have the strength to deal with it.
Just had a message from our next-door neighbour of 40 years ago wishing me a happy birthday. She reminded me about the cake she made for me.
Your daughter may think you party with people your own age the way she does. I never considered my parents might have wanted parties until they were too old to argue with.
off I go to bed. I hope to see all of you tomorrow. {{{Hugs}}}, you all are so special to me
NIte Mom!! sweet dreams
thanks Bugsaw, pleasant dreams to you
hi, babblers
'Night Mom. Dormez bien.
Hi and good night Welki
Hi welki.
good night Jacula, pleasant dreams. Off to look up the meaning of Dormez bien
LOL, sorry! Silver surfers. Who'dhave thought, a neighbour from 40 years ago?
ah, good night.
night all
Mom - it's French for 'sleep well'.
13... night TO
Was she lurking on Babble?
Hello, all...
Bug - No. It was an e mail.
Nite TO. Happy belated birthday
hi, jellen
Happy Birthday, Jac!
Hi welki and Jellen
I gave her my e-mail address in a Christmas letter about 5 yeas ago.
Thanks Jellen.
but how did she know you thot you had only had 2 cakes?
It's not for about another hour and 10 mins yet. I am hanging on to being 52 for as long as I can. LOL.
Bug - she didn't. She just sent me an e mail about an old birthday party I once had.
That then reminded me.
Oh! The timing was just so perfect!
I must pay attention to finding words again. Thanks for the chat everyone.
It was! Her email was sent at about 10.30pm UK time, but I only picked it up just now.
Ask for clues if you need them. I'm here to clue.
rh 6 then please
rh6 is a teacher of rhetoric.
came back to get my last two but i only need one, thats a nice surprise
thanks Jac. that is not a word in real life
Odd word...thanks, Jac!
Sorry! I didn't mean to give such an easy clue. I was multi-tasking.
Bug - it is in Uni life, which I live woth my two kids.
Or even with.
I needed a clue that easy! It still took 3 tries
fireworks
Well done Good.
Yay, GE!!!
funny i had been trying to get that one all afternoon then sit down tonite and there it was.
I was at school with a girl called Christine Goodenough. We all felt inferior. LOL
oh how funny Jac
And now, in our road, my kids had to contend with A Goodchild and The Good Family as well.
We have a family on our block last name Best - tell that to the Good family :)
No wonder my son once tied two members of another equally saintly named family to the tree outside our house, 'injun fashion'. When their Dad turned up at the door to complain, I could hardly contain my laughter.
lol
ROFL !!!
9...
Obviously, I had to tell them off in front of him. But I don't think my telling off was maintained when I sank to the floor breathless from laughing once I'd shut the front door.:-(
go jmb!
They were wimpy kids that cried at the drop of a hat. Even their own Mum thought they were wimpy. It was just their fat business cat Dad who didn't think that on the odd occasions that he was around.
Keep going jmb.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hi, Min!
Oh! Just opened one of my birthday cards with a letter in it to see that my friend's daughter, who said she loved my daughter's 2nd name (Layla) has just called her first born child (a daughter) that. AWW.xxx
I wonder though, has she ever heard of Derek and The Dominos (Eric Clapton in disguise)?
Is that where your daughter got her name from ?
so funny jac! my daughter and i had a conversation at dinner tonite about the name Layla
I am done! I have fireworks!ge6/36 was my last word

you can buy a turkey breast without the whole bird!
any time, pini
wtg dobie ;)
YAY dobie!
stid... where is the august gathering?
Congratulations jmbdobie2 on fireworks! Way to go!
er, rather, turkey breasts and legs are commonly sold separately from the whole bird. ;)
I recommend turkey breast too, Min. Much quicker. A butcher at the meat counter of the store could tell you the amount you will need
Can you buy it frozen like chicken breasts Pinikula? I know these are very STUPID questions. I do not cook
in Washington state, probably Olympia, possibly Seattle. interested?
I'm not sure, min...I'd simply look in the meat section or ask the butcher behind the counter...I'm sure they can direct you to some...
I think you can get them frozen, Min -- and these are GOOD questions! A lot of people wouldn't think to ask them.
(I only know the "separate" part because I once had "Thanksgiving in a Box")
If you buy them fresh pini, you can freeze them, too.
i need to go to a wedding in portland on the 28th... just wondering if i can stretch my time.
* perk * Portland???
oooh! that would be excellent, dobie!

I have exciting news!
I'm getting a new dishwasher tomorrow!
what's that, jellen?
Congratulations!
(it can be very annoying when text is delayed...kinda makes me look like I don't know what a dishwasher is)
I'm most excited about it...the current one is 15 years old...
ooooh, a new toy!!!!
lots of bells and whistles?
lol
I don't know...Tim picked it out!
I'm sure you'll love it!
I think is has 7 cycles...
*it
guess you'll be busy reading for awhile!
I'm not too good about reading manuals...
me either...I'd rather push all the buttons and see what they do!
congrats Jellen.
Thanks, Ormal...we are also getting a sink delivered that will end up at the store...
I got a new washer and dryer last year and I was SOOOO excited because my husband got really excited and did all the laundry for a month. It was great!
the novelty wore off quickly!
indeed but it was a good month for me as there are 6 of us in the house and a LOT of laundry
no doubt!
We got a washer and dryer last year...that's my primary responsibility...
Although I tend to slack until I'm running low on underclothes...
I don't mind washing, drying, folding, but I despise putting laundry away. Isn't that dumb?
I'll fold and put away...hate the rest...
I don't have much patience to wait
I'm the same way, Ormal!
I do the other 9 million chores while I wait for the laundry to be done. Today I managed to clean the bathroom, clean the kitchen, scrub the floor, play the whole round of Babble, make dinner, and bore my kids with inane chat, all while waiting for more laundry to be done. LOL
Goodness!
I'd like to know what time to expect you, Ormal...
LOL!!
can't blame me for trying! LOL
not at all. :D
My housekeepers moved out when they turned 'of age'...
Mine act like forced labor is NOT a ritual that should be involved in their rearing.
:O
I wish I'd had more chores growing up...I'd have better habits now...
Mine did, too, Ormal...they learned...too bad they grew up enough to move out!
I teach mine a little of everything: trash, laundry, dishes, cooking, BASIC car maintenence and home repair, lawn care. They'll have to know it when they go out on their own...
el7?
e + wound
(oh, change one vowel)
e + I had a coll**** with another car
Jellen, I despise chores and tend to let them stack up and do most of it in one day. I had to do lots of chores growing up, and it didn't make my grown up habits any better.
