think of old old books, ruru - co*** alimentarius, co*** vaticanus, co*** alexandrinus, etc
now spell it with a drawwwwwl and PL it
I think my brain has shut down.. I am not connecting the dots
too many twinkie thoughts
funny, the co*** is literally "block of wood" in latin
it is the word for first books that were made as we understand them now, with separate pages and a bound cover
btw co*** is not actually a word to be found in today's grid
I just googled latin for block of wood and got percussion
I think I will give up now
thanks josh.. I am too dense and too tired I think
see you all tomorrow...congrats mp and josh.
night ruru, go get 'em tomorrow
good night ruru and good night from me as well

hi Sprite, hi Sandy
hi lynxx sprite
hi babble friends. How's today's grid?
Just started - letters look OK don't they
only done 80 and they were pretty easy
oh yes, good looking grid. Starting now.
sounds good sandy :)
i'm excited today, I'm bidding for a painting on ebay, probably won't get it , but I love the chase
will keep my fingers crossed for you then, sandy
no going above your limit!
it's by a West Aussie artist who does lovely paintings of Broome (where daughter Diana lives) every now and then she puts one on ebay and they are about one third of the cost in the gallery
wow that is nice
what is her name? promise I won't bid!
I have started Painting lately LOL
hmmm, promise lyn...... it's Denise Walker
wonderful and nothing to laugh at :)
*starts up ebay*
Actually I did a great one of Di's dog on the beach at Broome and they love it
yayyyy see? I love it when people start something new and enjoy it.
I have been to the gallery so I know I can get a bargain (maybe)
oh I see a beautiful one of the sea, great colours.
one of my dear friends has been diagnosed with cancer and I gave her all she needed to start painting for her birthday and it has really been great for her
I'm bidding on the one that ends in 1.5 hours but I never bid til the end
what a beautiful gift, sandy
oh I like her trees as well. Good luck with the bidding, I hope you will get it.
You know it really was! Another girlfriend of mine paid for me to do an art course for my birthday last year and I guess I'm just paying it forward
my internet has maxed out, I am sure her site will come up soon
no bidding lyn!
lol sandy
no Ebay - gone to her site
me too, was just kidding earlier
are you feeling better today, I hope so....and have you finished the grid yet sprite?
lol silly sandy! No not yet, only halfway and having fun. And yes, again feeling a little bit better. Hurt my ribs with the vehement coughing though, that is a bummer. I hope the coughing really stops now.
I love the colours in her paintings
yes, they are lovely. I like that see of Living Harmony. And the trees too.
halfway already!!! you are soooo good ! i'm still at 84
just trained, not especially good. Zero biggies!
Good morning all.......
BBS
morning caitlyn, and hope to see you again soon, lyn
hi caitlyn
I meant that *sea and not see...
hope lynn isn't going to ebay
lyn would never do that
LOL
of course she wouldn't
now me, however....
LOL
;)
I am sitting here surrounded by boxes with 2 men ripping out my kitchen
oh dear, caitlyn, that is quite hectic. How are you holding up?
lucky you eventually cait, but no so lucky for a while
I think I may go out soon LOL
lol I would!
uh oh it will be time for that show that Nikki watches soon (the B and the B)
I REALLY hate that show
come on sandy, stop pretending.
Is it a comedy?
it is a soap
and sandy is really really afraid we will find out how much she is addicted to it
so she blames nikki
LOL
LOL cait, it is an american soap (the bold and the beautiful) maybe not a true reflection
I havent heard of that one although I am sure I can find it on Sky
yay, 2 7s!
Sprite!!! I do not and I am not! She could be watching my DVD's of Startrek - a true reflection of life in the future
it is apretty old one. I know, because it is old even in the netherlands.
Cait, don't bother
Okay
It's been running forever-
*evil grin* Ok, sandy, ok. I love Startrek too, btw. Especially TNG
At the moment she is watching Coronation Street
why is give money again valid, but the past tense not??
No you are talking real soaps !
I have the whole series of TNG and of
I have the whole series of TNG and of
I have the whole series of TNG and of
voyager
Okay now I am going out, the noise and mess are getting to me, see you later
ohhhhhh! I swear I could come over to your place and stay for ages, watching season after season.
good lcuk, caitlin, will think of you
Well, I just wanted to be sure you knew that...LOL
:D
bye cait
did you hear from Rolin Sprite
oh wait let me check
yes, I have an email from her, thank you!
I might email you
I'd always love to hear from you
have sent you a quick note
yay :)
we are about to put our house on the market and that means we will be building our new house on the farm and giving up the 'shed life'
does that mean you will have a better place to live eventually?
lol, I think the house will be lovely, my daughter Rebecca is an architect
we have another house - the new house will be built on the farm
ohhhh wonderful, I hope you will make loads of pics.
I am getting worried, because the shed doesn't need a lot of housework but the new house will
and LOL at rolin's email. I am not surprised. Will write back to you about it too, and to her of course. Tail on fire...
tell your daughter. I am sure she can come up with designs that will actually be low-maintenance.
When it is built, you have an invitation to come and stay
quite a way off, tho
true, but who knows! I'd really love to see it, that is for sure. I do envy you the freedom to do such things. So much space and so few regulations about what you can build, that is the opposite of the Dutch situation.
I watch those housing shows on tele and I can see that the regulations differ very much from ours.
we don't have much space to start with, and you cannot imagine the regulations here. Leave it to a small country to be narrowminded!
We will be able to build just about what we want -I can envisage some conflict with hubby tho, I am sure my ideas are larger than his
I will have to keep him under control (he is probably thinking the same thing!
you will find solutions that honour both of your ideas, and the end result will be better than either of you can see now :)
wherever you go go texaco...
we will see, sprite, lucky we are both very peaceful people
I wrote back to you and rolin
yayyyy one 8 found.
good morning. At last, a big grid!
hi sprite and sandy. Sandy, I read an article about a rooster and four hens killing a fox in their henhouse; they first knocked him out then pecked him to death!
emailed you back sprite
got it :)
hi rubyfoo!
Ruby, I wish my chooks would wake up to themselves, maybe I'll show them the article
can I be sorry for the fox? Guess I can't... but I am.
No you can't Sprite because foxes have killed so many of our chooks. they kill every single one and rip their heads off and then just leave them-they kill for fun
I thought you would like that story, sandy
Bruce has covered our large chookpen with wire mesh and the fox can't get in anymore(providing I remember to shut the pen up at night
I did Ruby
hi all
16mins left on the auction
ok I will applaud for the underdog, er underchook. Heroes. But it goes against the laws of nature :)
am hoping with you, sandy
hi carleekat
how are u sprite?
hi carlee
I don't mind animals killing to eat, but killing for fun is different.
hey sandy
and foxes are so pretty too, but evil
here, our neighbor feeds the foxes that live above us and they are tame enough to bring their babies down to show her
exes
sorry, very poor at multi-tasking! is there coffee in the PB?
thanks ruby, but can you do one that I don't have
thanks ruby...i hadnt spotted that one
Morning all.... I think Foxes are very nice, unless you are raising chickens or ducks or anything they like to stalk. My parents like their foxes, but they have no livestock- makes a difference.
hi carlee, have had a couple of bad months, so a lot of rebuilding to do. How are you?
*blushing*
hi red!
oh..same sprite
and they have no natural enemies here
rth!!...hi there
I have some coffee here ruby.
oooh, thank you!
hi carlee, up early with me!
so very sorry, carlee. We will need patience, right? I am not a patient one but I guess I will learn. Heaps of health and energy to you!
same to u sprite
up since 3...yippeeeeeee

Feel like that myself some days
found the other one. ex7/9 combo: 7 = to take a smaller text out of a big one. 9 = the person doing it. or, for the 7: I will make no ex****ions to this rule. Insert a consonant after the 2nd vowel.
things are happening now that are defintie ripples from the accident 3 years ago....and its still dragging me through the muck

nice seeing u again sprite
blarg...i have the 9...cant count yet
herin's random numbers mixed me up
sorry
evil grin
<snort>
sniff
help with the EX 9 what does it mean please
the 7 is to take a small bit of text out of a larger one....readers digest does this all the time..then the 9 is the person who would do such a thing to a good story
sorry i didnt answer sooner..was in kitchen getting coffee
ok
Right O i am going to go do a test run off this game
enjoy
I hope it works then I will
hello
hello dc, and everyone.
morning, city
this grid is enjoyable, isn't it?
so far :) I started a few minutes ago
Good morning all.
I'm down to my last 30, have had lots of fun with this one :) Morning Scrabbler
morning, scrabbs
I am still half asleep here. The alarm went off during a weird dream.
always unsettling when that happens, scrabbs
Yes, my brain is still in that dream.
an 8 clue please
*gets a feather duster to dust cobwebs from scrabs brain*
an4/4 + mechanised writing
finally, firebirds :)
whoo hoo city
and hi all
This grid has a bambi, a relative of thumper, a laughing canine, a beast of burden, a bird of prey (ra6/21) a snake (se7/30) and a horned amphibian
hi jmc
ty, I didn't try that because I curved the wrong way in my search.
yes, if today's grid has a flaw, it's the scattered a's.
but it was great fun, nonetheless :)
Hello Merk, 17 + jm.
Yippee 17! And TY for clues. I still have to find the beast of burden.
Found it/them.
And I am seeking that an8--thinking of that clue
i am looking for that and the serpant
*grins at jmc* ... you almost went to the pb
aha! if Icould only spell i would be dangerous at this game
*giggle*
My laughing is waking me up, jm. TY!
lol, jmc! ... Scrabbler, think proto****
Protoplasm, Protozoa...
Are last for letters ro4?
the first model...
Aha, so now I need the right an4.
Got it--new word for me.
my problem is with the first 4 letters
What poker players do.
hot damn I got it!
Now pluralize
well done, both
may suddenly disappear for a phone call
bye
*may suddenly disappear while re-entering REM stage of sleep*
I'm off too, bye peoples :)
Bye jm + 17.
*disappears, snorting at Scrabbler*
I am so tired.
ca8 clue please
hi merk, ca + vowel + list at end of book **dex
oops - I did that totally backwards!
ca + vowel + in ***
locking myself in PB now, I may fall asleep there
ty so much ... didn't try that third letter
Hadn't heard of that one before.

TY, JBV
Hi Inge
hi, jbv, merk, inge, scrabbs. made breakfast. It surprises me how little the 4-yr-old eats
Yep, some kids are so bothered by the need for meals.
city, I would never have noticed most of the fauna thank you so much!
Hi Ruby
hi, ruby
At 115/96 I must get ready for work. Bye all.
hello scrabbler and seain and inge
I have 91 but really like this grid
I'd be really happy with half!
however, I just planted my radishes and watered the tomatoes, so feel satisfied with my day, and it's only half over!
fresh radishes are delicious
they are so easy to grow (even for me) and are so much tastier than the ones from the market
yes, MUCH tastier. I hated radishes til my grandparents grew some, and i tasted straight from ground. I was about 15.
tomatoes are harder to grow and I've had very limited success. But the ones from stores are not worth eating, so the only ones I ever eat are the ones I grow, i.e. every couple of years! lol
tomatoes grow like weeds where i live
wow. the jay in teh dogwood is VERY blue
we have no blue jays here or dogwoods, for that matter.
we are on a hillside, so the soil is very poor
before this place became "fashionable", it had vineyards and goats
and fishermen
Maybe you should grow your tomatoes in tubs or crates Ruby. Hi DC too
hi, lyn
ne 7,8 clue please
hy lynxx, too late for this year, we put in 12 plants already
where the soil is poor,we used to grow "pot" gardens tomatos, herbs, snpa peas, green bean, creen onions, chives etc all do well
good morning everyone
peanuts and mint thrive in poor soil
morning, crossy
hi Cross
I grow all the herbs in pots near the kitchen and in the closest border. Mint grows wild now because we had a Moroccan housekeeper and she planted a little. Now it's one of our mauvaises herbes!
clue please for the ne 7,8 ... assuming it's not the poor soil ... lack of nitrogen and such ... LOL
hi crossy
ne7 and ne8 end like the an8 and 7
an9 sorry.
ah, ty Haz
nice, TY Haz
I don't have any of the 7's or 8's
You're welcome - hello to all.
hello haz
howdy haz
ok, putting on my thinking monkeys in my chiquita banana hat!
Hello! I did some babble earlier and am experiencing the fresh eyes syndrome.
ty for those As and Ns, haz
You're welcome, dc.
Golly, this is an interesting grid with that x in a prime spot.
I know, nice to be able to use it.
one short of half but DH won't let me continue!
aw. be well, ruby
trying to co 5/24 some more words but they refuse to be co6/39 ;)
re 8 clue please. Does it build on the 6?
I'm not on my own laptop today and I am no longer use to the stiffness of a PC.
It doesn't build on the 6.
it's weird
Clue for it then, please
re plus a treasured animal, the last part of a story.
TY again Haz
ty
You're welcome. I've never seen it before.
But it means what it looks like it should, so that's okay.
dune
rade
OUCH!!
Sorry- I was going to say something here and forgot to switch back
Oh, good MORNING!
Good morning!
morning Kap
I like this grid better than the last few, anyway
It is an enjoyable one, I agree.
I must be tired, I am finding this very hard
Fresh eyes syndrome leads to self-kicking syndrome.
see I didn't even see the volcano till now...speaking of which how is Iceland going?
There hasn't been much talked about it lately. I'm sure the volcano is still erupting but the ash cloud seems to have been reclassified as not dangerous enough any more. Debate rages as to whether it was that dangerous in the first place.
I haven't had any more ash on the car, so that's good.
no ash is a good thing, indeed
Really? it was that bad...I saw the poor sheep in Iceland didn't realise it was 'landing' in Ireland. No drying laundry outside then
ash fell in Netherlands, too, so i'm guessing in parts Wales/England as well
It was really only evident when it landed on cars - a dirty, very fine sandy like substance. It was never bad enough to stop hanging laundry outside.
I wonder how many people would have opted to fly if they said it 'might' be dangerous and the engines could fail
But yes, it fell all over Britain.
I think people would have been led by the pilot, if he was willing to go, they'd have trusted him. It would all depend on your desperation to get going, I suppose.
The airlines are pretty peeved that the authorities closed airspace etc but they are the ones having to compensate people for missed flights etc.
I think they made the better decision to err on the side of caution, don't you?
I do. Hi Espritd
all they would have needed was one flight compromised because of debris in the turbines and the world would go nuts
i think so jean. good morning
gm sir seain, ms lyn
I think they made the decision without really knowing the risks involved, and without doing the tests that would have revealed just what the danger really was. No doubt there'll be a public enquiry and nobody will be to blame.
Not another Royal Commission! or don't you have them over there Haz.
We have Public Enquiries. A great deal of talk, a great deal of investigation, a lot of money and all too late to influence anything.
i thought one of the continental gov'ts found that fighter jets form glass, commercial did not
It's been a huge mess and there are still people stuck abroad, trying to get onto scheduled flights which are fully booked.
i live near KIAD, and the hotels were FULL for miles around.
Anyway, I must get on and have some lunch. Enjoy the rest of the grid. x marks the spot more than 30 times today!
I know - everyone can all just blame Iceland, in fact people could all sue Iceland (not that that would do any good!)
Bye!
Bye Haz..have a lovely arvo
be well, haz
LOL lyn
mornin babblers!
CC AA BB A...
morning, EvaN
hi Eva
howdy eva
how are we today?
i'm better than expected for having gotten up at 4. you?
re: deciding to fly in an ash cloud, not only does it clog jet air intakes it also has a nasty habit of'sandblasting " the pilots plexiglass window..not good
excellent point, crossy
better than expected for having fought with my hair all morning. ;)
ive seen reports on it
Goodnight all, too tired for this
lol Eva
sleep well, lyn

Good Morning Everone - this looks like a pretty good grid. How is everyone?
hello mom -- planting, planting!!!
hi Momneeds.. fun grid
Good Morning Mom
today radishes and scabiosa
your favorite pasttime (other than babble of course)
how is your "project" going?
I had to stand on a ladder to plant the scabiosa, not my favorite!
great in fact - so cute of you to refer to it as a project - guess it is
the azaleas are open, the Japanese maples are in leaf and the wisteria are in high flower!
i dont know if I know what scabiosa is
I am kind of floating here.
how many days is it?
you are much sooner than we are
day 8 - made it a whole week
it's a little perennial, sort of curly petals and grows wild in some places - kind of a bluish-lavender color
I am in disgust at some one I used to be friends with and how he blabs on about being honest and truthful and all this b.s and then he posts up some dead set moronic stuff on FB
it is about 80F today
wow herin - get it out - you will feel better
sounds very annoying, herin, don't let it get you down
we are all listening
I think i just did
BTW, I hate the new facebook format; I keep losing stuff
gaining friends, but losing my wall etc. and photos!
I need to get on and figure out how to use it - never any time - babble more important
if I put my e-mail address in my profile, would it be too risky?
Ruby I don't like the new FB it took me 6 weeks to find out some important from a friend
I don't ruby.
same here, and too many silly games and gifts and advertising!
alot of people do ruby
I have a good virus and spam filter.....
now I have to go and make himself his martini and give my puppy her cocktail treats! she gets rqoefort crackers!
I dont because I dont want personal stuff going home for family to see. They are on computer before I get home. I suppose I can use my work one - will have to give that some thought.
that's roquefort* , so much for my French!! hah
see you later
you are a good wife ruby
I don't because there is people that are dead set creeps on babble
ciao for now, ruby
terrible wife!!! hahahah
well I should say on the net in general
I have to agree there. Havent seen the trolls for a week now. They are so annoying.
Don't say that they will appear
I knocked on wood - we're OK

ty dc
thankyou
hi, sea, janus, NB, ruru, boo, et al
back from an exciting jaunt to the playground.
hey there, seain!
to4 the wet sprocket. :D
Hi, Seain :) (and all!) - the playground, eh?!
am going to taste test wedding cake in a little while
howdy, jade! been a while since you've been round here
yes, nephew fell of the swing
hence the excitement. he sprained his dignity
you have a visitor dc?
that it has, seain. And I brought a new friend last night.
i'm babysitting today at my sister's. he's 4
hello all!
oh, cool jade. who?
hi, pippin
awww, Seain! And hi, Pippin :)
oh, and having been speech delayed, he's a rather young 4.
LOL at the dignity - I fractured mine falling down the stairs this morning ;)
pleckos look ugly as they do their work.
still better than falling up the stairs, that's my specialty
oh, glad that's all you fractured, NB
yes, more likely to get hurt falling up the stairs. and falling up is more common
thanks :) the cut on my hand opened and started bleeding impressively. Don't think I've ever fallen up the stairs, though!
so i found the coolest thing to do with the fella to kick off our holiday together!
oh no, nb, after the stitches and everything!
ouch, NB
laughing hy5
there's this place here called big cat rescue that has, well, all kinds of big cats, and you can take a tour and watch them get fed, and i'm totally excited
friend of mine broke her wrist falling up the stairs
pfff, who's counting, it's only my left hand anyway ;)
oh cool, pippin
i love me some kitties, the bigger the better
Awwww, Pippin! That sounds like fun - whenever I see stuff like that in person I find it difficult to believe
anothe new icon NB?
jeez.. and I thought elevators were dangerous.
i think we're doing the anti-florida vacation
seaspray, will we see you in Baltimore on the 8th - i forget
It is, Seaspray - I guess I get bored easily ;)
sorry dc, can't make that one, perhaps another time
coolio, seaspray :)
Ok, must get ready for the taste testing...later everyone
we should plan a Sunady one at some point so mkg can make it too.
enoy, sea
LOL at anti-Florida - Florida is the end of the rainbow for British kids...
yeah, too much time in tourist and beach culture for me...
ty dc
half of Ontario and New York retires to Florida.
but check this out! http://www.bigcatrescue.org/tours.php
intriguing to see that they do weddings...I can think of lots of ways in which a handful of tigers might ruin a wedding...;)
well i think there's a fence between the tigers and the cake
so far we're talking about that, the salvador dali museum, busch gardens for roller coasters, fort desoto (awesome beach and things to climb on), and we're not sure beyond that
oh, and kayaking, his doc said he's well enough to go kayaking!
hooray! i love kayaking
wow, you sound so active! Summer holidays over here generally involve staying inside and watching the rain.
i like it and he says he's into it, but i was worried that it would hurt him, but the therapist said it would be cool
and Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a ton of fun. I'm sure FL is as much so.
fl is all "africa", there's more big kitties and giraffes and stuff plus good rides
hot and humid is it is, being out on the river/lake/ocean is a great way to spend summer. though you pull in to shore fo the thunderstorms
*wanders past chog, sees NB and runs in to snog-tackle him* afternoon, dahling!
re 8, please?
neat, pippin. Williamsburg is a world tour theme.
re8 - The irregular repetition of a word, phrase, or line in a poem. not related to the 6
he's set on this being a "dream vacation" for us so we're going to be jam-packed with activities, but only really cool stuff
Dahling! The tackle is not necessary; I'm easy prey today. Feeling quite languid and chilled out for some reason - are you feeling any better today?? :)
... and Fireworks! Had it an hour ago, but had to tend to some things.
better, but not all better. no need for painkillers today, at least... just regular discomfort. should be back to aces by tomorrow. :)
ouch, it is afternoon! i need to go find a used tire for my car!
I hope y'all enjoyed today's grid as much as I did. See you tomorrow.
bye merk
and congrats!
not getting it from the def. seain
ty
nan, sort of like to play-act again
ty seain
Finished
(i had to look it up, could you tell ;)
congrats, mudd
yay, mudd!
i had a coffee this AM. It's showing at this point.
thanx
Have you discovered yet how much fun the x is today?
hey everyone
trying to see if new icon took or not
I don't see it
good to hear you're feeling better, Eva! :)
what should the new icon be, Praise?
hows the hand faring?
hi nancy it should be two little girls--but not in pink--in red and black
Funny you should ask - I fell down the stairs this morning (mr universe) and the stupid cut opened up again! Have disinfected and bandaged and hoped for the best...it's only my left hand anyway ;)
nopt still showing the old one
you need to refresh a couple of times praise
with their heads together, Praise? It's showing in your profile but not in the log - probably just need to refresh a few times
ooh! well, at least youve cleaned it + taken good care of it. i do hope leo is helping around the house. ;)
Does NB need a scooby doo bandaid
yes nancy that is the one
I have refreshed several times
He's very well behaved, Eva ;) but will tell him you said so!
Mom! *pouts* you know, I think I do...a big one!
praise -- try refreshing in 2 other places: (1) on the page where you loaded up the image (2) on the "My Account" page then come back here and refresh the main page. that usually works for me.
there it is--yeah!!
thanks Eva
finally got it to work
haven't been here in so long I am surprised if I know how to do anything
sorry to hear about the hand Nancy - work demands my attention again - bbl
thanks, Mom! Don't work too hard :)
it took me several tries to figure out that method, but it always works for me. :)
whee! finally an x you can have a bit of fun with;)
NB -- sure you arent more the Hello Kitty type? ;)
and i dont mean the last wife lol
ro 7?
LOL Eva! I'll have you know that when I was a kid, it was -always- power rangers ;)
Crossy! hi :)
howdy nb
twas never a fan of that one, im afraid. darling fiance loves transformers far too much. :)
un 5/14 slang for underwear
*throwing off cloak of invisibility* -- ro 7, please?
My sister got barbie ones, which I seem to remember coveting. Howww did my parents not guess ;)
my brother used to rip the heads off all my barbies. my parents would put them back on, but they never looked right again -- they always looked more like skipper afterwards...
sorry, nan. dont have it...
we once tied my sisters cabbage patch kid to the blades of a ceiling fan..in a vaulted 22 foot room
we walked out on the cross beam to do it;0
evil and yet genius in equal measures Crossy ;)
I guess nobody does -- and it's my last one
evil, crossy. just evil!
a dance, nan
LOL crossy
lol, Eva! my little sister used to do that to her own barbies. and switch the heads of barbie and ken around, with use of sellotape...
ro7 - a dance; french word
it's a dance I've never heard of!
means circular
yes -- I figured out the first 4 letters from the dance clue, but where to go from there?
frech ending like the word for hat
im quite annoyed that "tendu" is not accepted -- it may be french, but it is a perfectly normal ballet term. is "jete" is accepted, so should "tendu!"
ah -- ty bichon
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :)
A very nasty grid
yvw
congarts, nan
anyone want clues before I leave?
clues for the 9's?
apparently my random english cousin is advertising a 1 bedroom flat for sale in Romford. yknow, in case anyone is interested...
ex 9: one who takes an ex 7
an8/9 - before writing mechanically and plural
okay nan, what's the ex 7?
or before Gutenburg's invention
clue for ha 4/5 before the ha 6/24
ah, good one, nan
ex 7: a portion taken from a book
*or other piece of writing, film, etc.
ty nan, got it.
I don't get the pre-printing one
ha 4/5: large rabbit
ta da! got it ty all very much
another prefix for before + gutenburg invented moveable ****
i almost have it...it is slippery for crossy....
sorry boo - you did say before the 6/24 -- immediately before? -- there are 3 of them
gotta go noodle around for some lunch. be back soon!

same first 3 letters, followed by a different consonant -- one of them begins with the lower h
you're making me hungry eva and it's only 9:47 am here!
did you find it boo?
Same, Cyber! I heard 'noodle'...I want noodles...
yes
ty cyber
ill bring some back for you NB. *back in a flash*
yaa got it:)
i just had the most delicious (and probably most fattening) mac & cheese - and it was day-old reheated, i can only imagine how it was fresh.
see you, Eva! :)
bye eva
ooh -- please stop talking about food -- trying to lose weight!
me too - it was a small portion. :)
dr is putting crossy on a diet..sniff..no more bacon cept once a month...sniff
i had a feeling that would happen sooner or later, crossy...
don't eat bacon at all unless it is back bacon
poor crossy will starve
my grandmother had a heart attack and stents put in, now she's on a low sodium diet and very upset that she's not allowed to eat pizza anymore.
grilled chicken,fish,no coatings,loys of veggies,rice,popcorn,firbre,fibre,fibr e
you can have low sodium pizza. You'd have to make it yourself though
why don't you make a pizza for her with no salt in it?
perhaps i will try that sometime.
although that low sodum cheese isn't very good
oh no, Crossy! Food is so much fun.
it's better than vegan cheese, Cyber ;)
no bread cept 1 slice a day,no butter,no cheese..siniff..
*plays a song for Crossy on the world's smallest violin*
Baco de Mayo X is happening next week here in DC - an annual celebration of all kinds of bacon
food has been too much fun nb,i weight 2 of you lol
crossy -- get the south beach diet cook book -- the food in there will be legal for you and it is quite tasty
Wait, crossy, did your doctor put you on a diet?
How is it today?
Hi Gadget
self imposed, the excess weight has caused the apnea and it is bad
I doubt very much that you weigh 2 of me!
2 of nb cybernan lol
Hi boo
yes -- well that wouldn't be hard!
I've lost a lot of weight, but couldn't do it by diet alone. Have to exercise a lot.
struggling to put on weight is annoying too though - I used to find it very difficult. Found a picture recently that was taken last year and I look disgusting!
but do try that cookbook -- it is the best diet food I've ever had
i walk 4 miles a day,so it is just the food i have to get a ahndle on bichon
handle
hello all
ty for the ex9
howdy peri
but don't get the clue for the an8/9
hi, Peri!
oh nb -- just wait a few years -- I used to drink 4 cans of metrical or slimfast per day in addition to my regular diet and still couldn't gain weight
4 miles is good. I eat mega amouunts of crunchy veggies and it fills me up. Also, good fats, like walnuts
clue for ha 5/18
an + brit. drink + what a steno does
peri,if you were the arch nemisis of gutenbergs machine you would be the an 8/55
anyone here drive a Nissan Versa?
ha 5: person who nags -- extend the 4/6
It's better now, Nan :) feel healthier and less bones jutting! No matter what the fashion industry says, countable ribs aren't attractive
got the an8/9, ty
was looking for print
yaa
did anyone see my Nissan question?
I'm a Toyota person
yes -- drive a honda
as am i
I am too, have had my Corolla for almost 19 years.
Is the AN9 an extension of the AN8?
very hesitant to buy a Toyota due to all the news
yes -- the plural
yes, the plural gadget
i drive a toyota acho and nothing ever goes wrong with it,so i cannot help.i have replaced a tail light bulb in 7 years and that is it lol
bichon, would you buy a new Toyota now
one car means the same as the next to me, Peri :)
NB, no noodles today, but i will share my sushi with you. :)
lol peri i had a 76 corolla;) with the manual choke!! i loved that thing
I like my Honda, can only recommend not to go with Dodge (terrible vehicles, all 3 of them I've owned)
ok, bbl
I just look for a car with lots of leg room, comfortable seats with lumbar support for both driver and passenger
Yes, peri. We've had no problems with any of the many Toyotas we've had.
But, we probably won't buy a new car for many years. Ours have low mileage on them
I don't think I would buy an Odessy again -- can't move the passenger seat back and the driver's seat won't go back far enough now that we've added the orbus seat pads.
Oooh Eva, what kind of sushi?
spicy tuna!
on my way out -- back at the flip. Have a good day, everyone :)
i have a 2009 Honda Accord and i LOVE my car. roomy, comfy, and all the fixins!
bye nan
Bye nan
my echo gets 980 kilometers to 40 litres of fuel:) id by another one in a heartbeat(if they still made the) 52 mpg for my american friends on about 10 gallons
sounds good Eva, but I'll slink back to my vegan cave and crunch on my vegetables ;)
ahh, i didnt know you were a vegan! i usually get a cucumber roll, but i didnt today. next time, its all yours. :)
secretary, have you ty5 that letter yet? no sir, i'm sorry, it is as yet un7. that should be a word.
no wonder you cannot gain weight nb,you dont eat,you graze ;))
hello everybody
clue for ne 7 pls
howdy ruby
good evening for my last 89 [!!!]] words
ne7 - new writing
LOL. Cows graze!
I could even manage to make your vegan diet fattening. Fry it all.
ne7 - new mechanical writing that is
lol,im getting everyones names all mixrd up..time for meds...
seain, mechanical writing indeed!
a cow, you are NOT, nb. :)
too funny!
hi, i'm back. nephew done being mad at me, and h's eating lunch now.
*picks some avocado fron her roll + offers it over*
LOL Ormal!
oh dear, dc. why was he mad?
not insinuating cowishness at all, just cannot handle a vegan diet, the one im embarking on is hard enough
oh YUM Eva! Love avacado :D
sushi is what I miss most, living in France
he took a tumble off the swing. i pushed him too high, and i failed to make sure he was well-seated and holding on tightly.
so, we each a bit at fault, but he deserved to be mad. nothing hurts other than his dignity.
HIS problem, sein!
seain*
indeed, ruby. he's next to me eating popcorn
me too, nb! my coworker is originally from trinidad + he had an avocado tree in his yard -- said he ate like 3 a day growing up! *envious*
I hope with butter!
lol dcseain. my husband did that with my daughter on the merry go round when she was little. She kept screaming faster, faster, so he did. She let go and flew like a skipping stone.
then she asked him WHY did you do that daddy?
there's no sushi in France. Lucky you, I won't eat it
it's easier than you think Crossy - after a while you don't miss the other stuff. And the feeling of virtuousness lasts a lifetime ;)
it's funny, on the not-so-frequent occasions when i interacted with kids in the past, i feel like i could easily have done that, but ever since wesley was born... with him i am SO cautious. (not son, just nephew).
you are probably right, bichon, parasites etc., but I still missa it
LOL ormal
Good evening everyone!
SALLY! yay
hi sally.
It's something I don't understand. Everyone's crazy about sushi, avocados and mushrooms and I won't eat them.
hi, sally
Haven't been able to chat for a few days.
i HATE the texture of raw fish. yuck
bichon, I'm with you. I'll eat the mushrooms, but do not care at all for the other things
avocados mmm. See you're all talking about food again.
i'm ok with avocado and a california roll, but mostly do not like raw fish, and hate mushrooms, so, there you go.
my mrsLOVES shrooms, but i cannot stand them
i was so vehemently opposed to sushi for years. i dont even like fish very much when its COOKED, why on earth would i like it RAW?? but i tried it, and i actually LOVE it. one of my favorite meals. go figure!
I never had sushi with mushrooms. But I ate a huge amount of it in NY and on my few visits to Japan and LA
I don't eat mushrooms cause they're parasites. Call me crazy, but...
i had a lovely mushroom and seaweed sushi when i was on Long Island last month
my parents called me a parasite, but they let me sick around. ;)
I used to eat wild mushrooms when I lived in NY and NJ. Unfortunately, when I moved to Florida, I was carteless, ate some wild mushrooms and wound up in hospital for several days
if your lips have touched sushi and mushrooms, they will never touch mine <ggg>
Nice typo eva!
crossy loves nices fish fillets coated in a spiced coating and fried all golden and crispy in the pan with home fries and eggs for a nice camp breakfast
lol. oops. ::blushes::
lol. sally!
Well guess who forgot to take something out of the freezer today so we have to have fish and chips tonight. What a penance!
I wish for a penance like that!
Do you make tartar sauce?
yup! Hard decision.
so, what were those long words i saw mentioned earlier out of the corner of my eye but neglected to pay attention to cause i wasn't ready yet?
Don't make it ruby, but I do like it. Not sure with fish and chips though. We have Branston pickle with it.
can anyone reclue the ne 7 please
something about an8 and an9?
lol my dad used to ca me jesus christ and my brother was called dammit as it "jesus christ will you stop slamming that door!" and dammit will you stop picking on your sister!" one day he marched up to me while i was destrying his record collection and said "dammit will you leave my records alone!!!" the i said "but daaad ,im jesus christ"...i dont remember much after that')
don't know what is Branston pickle, but I would probably like it. Tartar sauce is just mayonaisse with pickles....
LOL Crossy!!
matrix protagonist + keyboard action
an 8: an4 (meaning before) followed by word meaning what you do on a keyboard. Then plural.
that is such a weird word
oh sure, that's a word, but unty5 isn't!
It's just a particular brand of pickle ruby. I like tartare sauce, but prob not with fried fish.
so what's the other 9?
you might, give it a try. For me, any sauce with fried anything is OK!
ex 9 person who ex 7
ne7: ne3: prefix meaning new, followed by same ending as the an 8
thanks bichon!
ty Sally
well, that still leaves 3 other 8's... how bout them?
yvw hurshy
ca 8/60, plural of ca 6/42
ca6/42! must find.

ty sally
The stats rather give it away, don't they!
yep :)
*yawns* all this talk of food though...what to do for dinner?!
im having....fish. oh crap. maybe i should have had something else for lunch!

lol Ruby - that's the only thing that makes me worry about being vegan; if I eat at other people's houses, I don't want them to regard me as a pain ;) how do you define an "extreme" vegan?
lol! i just blew my lids mind last night.i showed him what schoolhouse rock was hehe
no meat, no fish, no eggs, god knows what else
extreme vegans only eat things that do not cast a shadow lol
ty again bicon!
or as Jonathan Safran Foer says, things that don't have parents
I didn't get that, bichon, duh for moi!!!
Crossy! lol
plants poliinate..does that give them parents?
daddy bee lol
unless you're a jain, then you're in big trouble and eventually die!
thats not really an extreme vegan. that just...plain old vegan...heh
sounds the same as a normal vegan Ruby ;)
oh snap Eva :D
feels extreme around here!
grat minds, NB. ;)
what do I know? I eat whatever I want....
vegan is kinda like "extreme vegetarian."
im not going to go overboard, just less grease and bread and processed snacks
the only variation I ever come across in veganism is whether or not honey is acceptable.
factory farming is extreme...
husband is on South Beach, dogs are on beef heart risotto, I'm on whatever I feel like
it's just they take good care to keep it hidden!
most vegans i know wont eat honey because the bees arent out in nature, free, and they say its cruel...
and I don't gain weight, ever
rub it in ruby
hahahah
lol. I think the key to gaining weight was, for me, alcohol. So obviously, to keep myself from going back down old roads, I should drink up ;)
hardest for me will not be the bacon, but no bread
for sure, NB
oh and im allowed only a single beer a day,no hard alcohok
with a gluten -free diet, no beer, crossy!
oh no Crossy! D: now that, I would find hard..
i always say the bible says "man shall not live by bread alone" cause they knew we'd be tempted to! yum bread
like i say ill not go overboard
can you imagine visiting france and not eating bread?
my weakness is cheese
cest impossilbe!
especially as I don't enjoy beer - can't see the appeal there!
my weakness is babble!
try vegan cheese Eva; it'll put you off for life ;)
i often wonder if i would lose weight if i did nothing else but give up cheese.
me just tossing the bacon, bread and hard booze will do it for me lol
oh, i can imagine, NB. i think i may have had it -- i have a good friend who is "mostly vegetarian" (she still eats seafood, on her husbands request) and i think i had some of her cheese once... shes not vegan, but i think she eats vegan cheese for some reason...
but the bacon, bread and hard booze sound like the perfect die!
lol
diet****
I could live on that!
however, 127 words and good night everybody!
it's...I can't put into words how strange it is. The brand I tried seemed fixated with the idea that CHEESE MELTS and so it would melt just like that...bizarre. Felt more obliged to put it in a lava lamp than eat it.
good night ruby!
lol i remember teaching my boy to read i used these clips lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOaty7F pwMI

that's so cute! when we were living in Korea, my parents used to play me english language tapes so I'd pick it up a little before we moved!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2iLAI0 gUW0&NR=1 sorry nb,they are all sound intensive
how old were you when you moved, NB?
It was just before I turned 5 - it had the strange consequence of making my first English words come out with an American accent ;)
hah. but WHICH american accent, is the real question. ;)
Boobear: ph + sometimes vowel + a unit of weight
a lovely new england one, my son?
good question! I wonder...must have looked and sounded pretty incongruous when I started school, though!
clue for the ha6/24 (first one) please
im envisioning NB with a nice, old western style accent. "go ahead. make my day!"
whenever I hear American accents (well, some!) it takes me back to that time though. Got some nice memories of that house...
LOL Eva! and as a little kid too!
Momn: per***s the answer is a perfect *** (good looking number)
"go ahead, make my dinner"
hm - think I will go try and recover those memories whilst I make dinner :) see you later, all!
...
that's scary Eva!
great minds, NB. great minds. ;)
great minds once again :) later!

Hi Jac. And LOL!
heya NB!!! how is your hand? last time i was here you were in the A&E
it's er, recovering Jac! Had the stitches out now but ruined all the lovely doctor's hard work by falling down the stairs this morning (mr universe) and making the cut re-open! So I have a mummified hand again. Thanks for asking :D
ouch!! i hope you didn't hurt anything else?
nah, just my dignity ;) the funny thing was, Leo was walking down next to me, and he laughed so hard that he lost his footing a few seconds later. Karma, or a match made in heaven?
Gosh Nancy, you'll do anything to keep Leo washing your hair
Morning to you both
LOL Lynx. Well he does a mean head massage into the bargain...
LOL
hello lynxxx
The Scream Jacq? does this mean anything
lol a reflection of my life right now perhaps, if i was going to be cynical about it
it's one of my favourite paintings
oh dear, the kids driving you round the twist still?
lol yes they are but everything is up in the air, am waiting for a date for a prophylactic double mastectomy
Who painted The Scream? I can see it now, but can't remember the painter.
edvard munch
Oh, yes, thanks jacq.
i love van gogh's starry night too
oh Jacq! life is not being fair to you ((douuble hugs))
on a good note, after over 2 years on the housing list the kids may have their own place soon
it's preventative, so i'm not overly worried and that means there is no rush, but the lumps are now 6 times bigger than they were in december, so it's a little scary
thank you for the hugs though :o)
That is good - progress. You are going to miss the wee one though I bet
oh yes, i was breaking my heart the other night thinking about not seeing her every day, she is my alarm clock, sticks her cold feet on my legs every morning and peels my eyes open
awww
then demands i sing the gummy bear song to her, not much fun trying to sing that at 6 am
lololol
pre-coffee entertainment is hard
How far away will yr daughter be?
we have no idea she is 4th in line ina small place 3 miles away and 6th for this area and 7th for the next area across the river
not too far away but she won't want mum visiting every day
*bit late* you'd be surprised Jac - since moving away I miss my mummy! ;)
she will miss me i think but mostly as a babysitter and someone to take a tantrum throwing toddler out of earshot lol
brb need to grab my charger
Oh. I came in just in time to bitch about the kids. Now, where will I start?
BTW Hi everybody :)
hi Soodle
Hi, Soodle!
Hey Lynn. Hey Nance. Hey Jaq!
oh this should be good, go soodle
Bless me Father, for I have sinne.... oh! For a mo there I thought I was in confession....
*sits down for a minute to listen*
yeah! start at the beginning. I still feel like a kid - the insight into the big bad grown-up world is interesting for me! ;)
heya soodle!! and feelf ree to gripe away i already have
LOL NB
heya jmc
hi folks, help with 2nd da5/14 pls
Nah! "Actually, I have the best behaved, most moral, most paretn friendly kids in the world". and then I woke up....
to those with no family, there's nothing more interesting than families! weird.
hi jac longtime no see
probably because i have been actually working
LOL Soodle. But wouldn't those kids be boring?!
i have been keeping myself busy too
*tries to imagine life with a well behaved boy*
Nancy - I have three kids. They are the reason I get up in the morning. They entertain me, they cost me money, they worry me, they frustrate me, they make me so proud, they irritate me, they make life worth living.
Peri - is it d & yr mothers sister
I think I would be checking for wires in the boy to see if he were a robot replacement
yes, ty lyn
aww Soodle - maybe it's just getting late, but that was kind of touching.
soodle you speak my mind as we quakes say
NB - that is from the bottom of my heart (and from the heart of my bottom!) My kids are my raison d'etre - and every day they prove that to me!!
okay back to world saving --- actually i will be signing thank you notes to donors and drinking beer the only way that task is possible.
*poof*
bye jmc
Oh-oh. Danger of Soodle getting maudlin....Quick! Change the subject...
Danger of Jesse getting maudlin too! I want a mum like you!
my TV is still not working, 2nd day, my dear bro in law is working so hard but no luck
bbl
NB - Consider yourself adopted!. Now that will make an interesting arrangement. A Korean, English person, living in an Irish family....
That will give the bigots something to chew on......
oops. I must be getting tired - can no longer tell the difference between online names, real names and real fake names..!
LOL Soodle. And I'm gay. The bigots would keel over!
The icing on the cake, NB!! lol
as it were! I found a hilarious website earlier - gave a list of "gay" musicians 'just in case' one's children started to listen to them. Bizarre what some people will do!
i find that shocking and disgusting, some people are beyond belief
american site?
think so Lynx - I'd have to find it again.
Jac...I don't know, it's funny really. It also offered a 'cure' for my wicked wicked disease. Think they'd find me uncurable ;)
LOL a cure!! in this day and age people still believe that sh*te?
Nancy, I have a son the same age as you. I used to mourn that I no longer had small kids, but now I celebrate the fact that they have their own opinions, their own friends, their own views on life. Somehow i feel that I must have done something right along the way......
of course you did soodle, you gsave them everything they needed to find their own way in everything
Must have done Soodle ;)
I have a friend who was planning some 'world' trips. I found it shocking and disgusting that he and his partner had to plan to avoid some countries and cities as they would not have been accepted (gay too). Could not believe there was a site (and the need for one) which advises what is safe and not
i have friends who grew up here in this town and had to move away because of harassment, they rarely come back to visit because they hate the place
How sad. Is that all mover Scotland or just your town do you think
Thanks Jac. But, I often wonder if I did enough...or did I neglect something. I go back to my favourite film of all time - Mama Mia. You know that song - Slipping Through My Fingers.... That song makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up..
it's sad people can't just be accepted
This tragic situation is somewhat akin to McCarthy's witch hunt of Communists and Hitler's purge of Jews.
soodle all parents think that i think, well kost of them, i know some terrible parents who never question their actions, so maybe it's the good ones who worry about it :O)
Pity the poor Jewish communist who also happens to be gay!
it's a small town mindset lynxxx, now there are a couple f very openly gay and extremely camp young men who don't care and have a large enough friend base that they are safe as houses
Lynx, I live in the 'gay area' of London - the kind of reactions I/we get always surprise me all over again whenever I leave it.
Do you know the song I am talking about Jac? From Mama Mia? And I know... I really have done my best for the ungrateful wretches.. and they ARE the ones who will chose which home I am put into....
i was googling it soodle, but i don't think i have ever heard it, but my eldest always reminds me that some day she will wipe my bottom and shave my chin for me lol so it sounds familiar
LOL Soodle! I know the song you mean
When you get sick of Soho NB you'll have to come to Melbourne to live, especially my suburd now that I think about it. Very accepting here
and if you ever travel up north of noeth NB i will always make you welcome and have your back if the inbreeds start
very encouraging to hear that Lynx :) I'd love to visit Australia someday! I went around the world (ish) with a group of friends last summer but somehow missed touching on down under...
Jac! LOL
it's not my fault the gene pool is too shallow to drown in, and it's not my fault they guard it jealously
Jac, Have you never seen Mama Mia?
no soodle i was going to but never ghot round to it, i will though
wow my typing is awful tonight maybe need to cut my claws
jumping in on the chat - I don't think it's the geographic location at all, there are prejudiced people everywhere (unfortunately) and good people everywhere, you just have to find a community that is supportive and find strength there
At the risk of sounding like a teenager....OMG!!! You just GOTTA see it.
LOL i will i promise
hello JBV
I am going to hold you to that Jac. It is such a fecking FEEL GOOD movie. Its sunshine, handsome men, Meryl Streep at her finest - just pure, honest to God escapism. Everybody should see Mama Mia. (And I dont work for the publicity company!)
feel good i need
hi jacq and soodle and Nancy Boy
will watch it this week coming
JBV. Sorry. I was on a Mama Mia rant when you came in there. I am finished now!
hi, JBV :)
I liked the movie, too - it's definitely not high art, I would say, but feel good, yes, yes, yes
Soodle, i just watched the song on youtube (never saw the movie), i'm verclempt
brb toddler knocking on her bedroom door for some reason
hello good enough
Good enough...watch the movie!!
JBV. Nobody said Mama Mia is High Art! It is sunshine, escapism, lovely singing, Meryl Streep falling for Pierce Brosnan (and vice versa).... it is pure romance.
yes, it's fun, I agree
Pierce Brosnan singing was a mistake though!
LOL NB
ABBA music is a real upper. You can turn up the volume and sing with it at the top of your lungs. Definitely improves your mood
but he is very pretty to look at
i love abba for doing housework
Exactly, Jacq
OOOoooohhhhhh Yaysss. I could cope with Mr Brosnan warbling out of key, as long as I could look at him...........
oh nooo - Colin Firth all the way!
too safe
oh i'm with nb!
Crikey. Colin Firth V Pierce Brosnan? Oooh. thats a hard one, as the actress said to the....
i prefer arnold vosloo
LOL Soodle!
why fight, i'd take them both
<< likes bad boys
lol
LOL Good!!
We're both for Colin Firth in this flat. Although...Colin Firth or Hugh Grant?
Hugh Grant
hugh grant is too stiff and wooden for me
My personal favourite is Charlie Sheen. Ulitmate Bad Bad Bad boy. (Yum)
lol soodle
I'm still Colin Firth...he's just so adorably English!
Jeff Goldblum for me
Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in Pride and Predjudice.....Ooooh, pass me my smelling salts. I'm all off a swoon......
oh shoot, forgot i'm supposed to be at the grocery store (in between kid runs), maybe i'll pretend Colin is sitting beside me in the minivan...
LOL Good
loosens off soodles bodice
don't get carried away now Good!
Lynxx - I cant help thinking of Jeff Goldblum as a fly - ultimate passion killer...
LOLOLOL
lol, that ws revolting I agree
To get back to Colin Firth, and my bodice... Could you peel me a grape while your at it, please.........
*in Mr Darcy reverie*
are you talking to me or Mr Darcy?
In the absencae of Mr Darcy.............
*peels several chilled grapes and feeds soodle*
Soodle shakes self and tells self to cop on...........
*drooling on desk*
All the while enjoying the peeled grapes.

Hiya Mom
Ha ha, I'm making red beans and rice for dinner. On the first taste test, 2 of my kids ran for a drink, and the third one went for Saltine crackers.

Hi FuzzyBunny
Hey there, jacq.
Hi Ormal

hi jaq. I dunno what they taste like. This is my first go on having or cooking them.
hi mom

spicy kind
ahhhh, are the same as kidney beans?
I don't eat them but my sweetie loves red beans and rice
ok spicy is maybe too much for me lol
that I don't know
I used to use them in making chili
he likes red beans and rice with a slice of onion on top over cornbread
i use kidney beans in chilli and i know here we can get spicy ones or plain ones
Oh, my goodness, that sounds sogood.
I like spicy. picy does not like me, so I'll be paying for dinner all night.

hello everyone, back to finish up - I hope
Aaargh. Just finished making a weeks worth of meals for my elderly parents (aka Posh n Becks). Irish stew X 2. Chicken mushroom and pasta bake, lasagne, fajitas, and lasagne
oh yuck Nancyboy and hello
Hi Flosey
Thanks, Mom, wish I could.
I see Jillibus is back online! Good News
that is so sweet Soodle
do you live far from them?
Not one bit sweet, Mom. It is the absolute least I can do for them.
hi, Mom! I misread that at first! "oh, yuck, Nancyboy"...I thought, "I'm not THAT yucky" ;)
I am sure they appreciate your doing that Soodle
Soodle, that is so sweet of you. When I was living w/my dau. I asked her to fix a grilled cheese for me and she said no....I never asked again.
now, Nancy Boy .....
are you kidding me Gapeach, that is so sad
I live about one hours drive from them. They are pretty old, and not so good on their feet, so a couple of ready made, (home made) meals are always appreciated
of course you aren't kidding {{hugs}}
ah peach, no mom deserves to be treated that way
I will cook for you any time GaPeach
Hey>>> the motto I live by is "What goes around, comes around" They will probably chisel it onto my tombstone!
Thank you Mom.

Hi all, just popping in for a few before I do my late night aerobics. I push it off all day til it ends up being soo late.
Hi Michnick
hi michnick
Yes, Mom, I moved back to Georgia last October. I have some really wonderful friends here. I am in a wheel chair most of the time, so they check on me several times a day.
Shalom Mich!!
Hi and shalom all!
GaPeach, can you get around? Do you drive? Do you have a way to call someone in an emergency. I am in a wheelchair, and I am always how I would manage on my own.
I mean, I am always wondering
your friends are heaven's gifts. I am so glad you have them
Yes, Soodle, I had two strokes in '02 and she came and convinced me to come to her home while I was rehabing....long, long story. But I'm away from there now....and doing so much better. Thanks for asking, I appreciate it.
am sorry to hear it wasn't a good time for you peach ((hugggs))
that just breaks my heart {{{Gapeach}}} I am glad you are back home.
Yes, Michnick, I can drive most days....I have Post Polio Syndrome and don't have a lot of energy....but I just don't drive when I'm dizzy (vertigo)...but I am managing so far. Please remember me in your prayers. Thanks
I hate to run off but must get supper going. Hope to be back afterwards. {{Hugs}}
bye mom
bye bye Jacq
bye mom!
bye mom!
bye bye Michnick
Going to fix that sandwich now....back in a bit.
does anyone have a clue for ne7 please?
sorry flosey don't have it
ne7 'new' start & sort/s
The longer I live, the more I learn. Gapeach, you are fan-bloody-tastic! My personal email is medickinson@eircom.net, and I have a wonderful pair of ears, if you ever feel like off loading. I also have great faith in 'yer man up above' - I don't think I would be where I am tody without his help. Feel free to contact me directly.
tks anyway jacq
Gotta run - bye all
ne7 - prefix meaning new , and what you would do on a remmington...
bye lynxxx
thanks Lyn
thanxx lynxx
what is a remmington?
use to use one jacq - before computers
ahhhhhhhhhhh a vord processor
or a **** writer
yes, the old fashioned kind
Oh Crap. Showing my age now. What came befoe word processors
good old imperials
what stenos used
ASDF :LKJ
with the pinky keys that were so stiff you had to stand up to push them down
yup, you've got it
and at school there were no letters on them
Anybody remember learning those letters?
oh yes
oh yes soodle, in grade 9
asdf;llkj
Whew. There are other people as old as me her. Big relief...
lol soodle, age is a direct reflection on my mental state, today i am 7
lol soodle, you should have seen the big square ones with rings around the keys - back in '46
man, did you fingers get a work-out on those
Jac - My shoe size reflects my mental age. Size 5, and not likely to increase...#
lol soodle
Flosey - You probably have the fittest fingers in town!!!
nada
lol, soodle
oops
Flosey. My father had one of those. I wonder what ever happened to it... He also had all kinds of cool antique things that were probably thrown out or left behind. My mom was in such a state when she finally sold her old house after 34 years.
I am being haunted by tornado in the grid!
wow, - I tell hubby I'm going before he does because I don't want to get stuck with all his 'treasures'
Guys, thank you all for entertaining me this evenign. I was in bad form when I came home from work, and you all cheered me up. I love Babble and I love my Babble Friends. good night all. X
night soodle huggs
good night Soodle, and hugs - you also made someone elses day too, don't forget that
You said it Flosey, both my parents were/are packrats but my mom just collects odds and ends while a lot of my father's 'junk' had collector value (it was just regular stuff when he acquired it but if you keep stuff long enough, it becomes an antique collector's item to someone!)
Night Soodle
hubby has stuff from his sister's house and also his mom's - some of which he hasn't even had time to look through
Sounds like he would have liked my dad! LOL
lol, they'd have had a ball eh!
Today is the anniversary of my dad's death. How appropriate that we are talking about him. He alwasy had the coolest 'junk'.
you must have great memories mich, I do, and Dad's been gone 33 years
There were good times and bad, so I try to remember the good. My dad was not the easiest man. Today he would have been on anti-depressants & would have had a CPAP machine for his sleep apnea, all in all he'd be happier today than he was. All that has changed and he's only been gone 14 years!
ah mich, just hold on to the good memories

and later peri
why save it? drink and enjoy your ill gotten gains!
am feeling exceedingly guilty though
bye, peri
well, i suppose you could throw it out, but then that defeats the purpose of your pilferage, doesn't it?
and saving it...how long can you keep an open bottle of wine?
oh i would NEVER throw it out. just think i might end up coming clean tho. Went over there (after telling him i would) to pick up one or two kitchen implements i had left, and dropped off the paper entitling him to store his canoe at the lake in my time
and remembered some naughty babblers encouraging me to help myself to a bottle or two from his immense cellar... I haven't opened it yet
ahh, well, he apparently had enjoyed the first half, now you can enjoy the second.
(store his canoe at the lake in my TOWN). oh. no, it isn't half an open bottle... it's a little baby bottle
oh, it's a split of wine.
oh yes... i guess it is a split.
i'd probably tell him i took a split of wine, and hope he doesn't mind.
yah,, i think that is what i will do. and he will be quite gracious about it, i'm sure.
better being up front about it. makes for more enjoyment of the wine. when you do open it
there was a gorgeous bottle of sterling reserve on the kitchen counter... thought of taking that... thinking maybe he left it out there for me. but i don't really think he did, so i didn't
are you two splitting up?
oh. sorry, i thought you knew. he dumped me two weeks ago. two weeks after my Board of Ed approved a budget that eliminated all counseling positions. i'm in a bit of a tailspin still
man, that really sux! sorry to hear that, Dorens.
thanks. it isn't my happiest time. not sure which i am unhappiest about... i think the job, actually, but not sure
i knew about your job, but didn't know about him.
(((Dorens)))
bbl, new bones is on.
it was kind of a surprise. more like a shock actually. still a bit numb, but it will be okay in time
later then
Hi all
hi, w
red or white LBD
lbd or me?
she asked how long opened wine will last
what did you pilfer Dorens?
graves premier grand cru. 82 haut brion.
a baby bottle. i am not good at thieving.. couldn't bring myself to take more
oh Sh**..he is likely gonna mind that one...
nah! he has a case or two of them... brought me one once when i was sick and he made chili or beef stew or something like that. he rarely opens them himself.. he is more likely to drink a whole bottle himself
bought i'll probably tell him cause i am feeling guilty... my spine froze as i descended the stairs to the cellar
bought? supposed to be but. and i haven't even had a sip yet
oh.. well then.. tell him this:
yes....?
Ken..my palate has grown so much by tasting wine with you that I wanted to re-affirm my opinion of that Haut Brion by having another bottle and really understand Premier Grand Cru wines..lol
hahahaha
try that.. that will work..lol
That is one gorgeous wine too
jsut ell him you needed a bottle to bring to the babble meetup
it certainly would. the sad thing is that he doesn't even care about some of those old french burgundies as much as i did. I often had to remind him that they needed to be drunk.. he literally has hundreds of '82's (that must have been the year he made his millions) that will not last long
he is actually quite generous and probably wouldn't mind. but i just feel weird
please please: someonegive me all of the ex words except the last two
he prefers california cabs
you could tell him he could shine on all future birthday presents by giving you them to enjoy..lol
owl the only one i can give you is the business ex**utive. i only have the ex4's
I represent the best California Cabs..
he probably owns a couple.
ty

good evening everybody. I just hit half way! (Spent most of the day at the auto repair shop; my cars' radiator burst!)
hi nef ;)
sorry to hear about your car
Hi there, Nef. Sorry for your car troubles.
Well, this just convinces me even more that we need a new one I guess
How is everyone? I really need to settle down to finish this grid; think I can finish or get close to finishing by the flip?
I'm still working on the grid myself...
Which ones do you need, Nef?
prolly every other word, ga, I just opened lickety's list but didn't study it
OK, I'm down to 4 and I will help if I can.
down to 12 here
hy5-16 please.....thanks
Nef - only if you can find an8 and 9 ('before' word + what you do on a keyboard), ca8 (plural of tree stem ca 6), all of the co + high point tile persuading words, and the ex 7 and 9. LOL
hi jac ;)
ex7 and 9 aren't fish words, btw.
Hi Pini.
6 now ;)
ex7 and (the one who dos it 9) are everyday words for a small extract from a larger piece of writing or other media.
3
thanks, Jac
some of thos biggies were doosies!
Pini...go girl!!!!
last se6?
nm...got it
ne8, plural of the ne7 simply are the German word for 'new' + what you do on a keyboard when you hit the keys to make words.
se6 after Oct?
Pini - a group of 7.
danke ;)

Change the last letter on the word above it to h.

good evening, all :)
Hi Cyber.
83
hello everyone, grem, are you asking for a small grid?
no, just trying to predict
I was reading about a project to try to find Boggle boards with the most points/words. For 5x5, one was found with 13459 total points and 3120 words.
I would love that, have a very busy day tomorrow
Hello -- I'm sorry I missed this one
So I was thinking, asking for a board here with a mere 1000 is a modest request.
yes, it would be
flosey, are you going to that luncheon?
ye gods, grem!
yes jilli, pool exercise at 10, and a friend from the class has very kindly invited me to go to her place to change so I can get to the luncheon on time
That's points counted by Boggle rules (nothing over 11 points).
See you there, flosey -- and nice choice of beetle!
thanks jilli - you don't really see it properly until you check the bio
