HI Mr Pav my dear
Sorry Jilli - was seeing to something. Hello everyone!
and how is mi'Lady this evening?
Hello flosey! :)
no comment going again. SOrry don't talk when certain people are here
so which is your constituency, JC?
Just saw your question, Jilli - same name as my town.
not the London one?
Oh good grief. (Rolls eyes.) Some apparently never grow up. (Sigh.)
No, Jill.
Silly herin.
Pot Kettle JC. He who claims to be so famous has to slag people of send mass emails and be a general freak f u pal
(is not here, but Jilli! Don't let other's behaviour influence yours! That's not a nice thing to say)
I'm leaving. This is vicious and uncalled for.
oh, herin!
ok, well I am...early morning appt with the car doctor...routine oil change...now that my hair is gone, have none to spare...
OFF!
good luck Pav
hello all
what just happened?
Hi Barb
Claims to be? I don't think I've ever felt any need to claim anything, child. You are trying to start something for absolutely no reason - getting your nappies in a twist over nothing again. Is your little life really so empty, boring and miserble that you've nothing better to do? Pitiful.
my goodness think I missed something ..this grid doesn't seem easy either
there's definitely some stingy tiles, barb
Hi flosey
hi josh
this grid isn't easy Barb - for me anyway
I haen't completed any of the last ones either oh well one never knows if one doesn't try though
I'm pretty close to stuck I think.
true, get what you can
I agree flosey, not particularly easy...
well I have only 27 and I think I am stuck lol
hi Volley
hi barb!
ooo I actually found two more LOL
wtg
there are far too many t and p words in here :D
wtg barb
Yes JC that is why I am studying if i have nothing better to do. You truly are nothing but an ignorant mad as a hatter twat
Hmmm. You behave like one then accuse me of it? Priceless. You must really enjoy showing yourself up.
And I would love to post the hateful emails you have sent
You can't post imagination.
what a lovely picture flosey...I so want to take my son that way during storm season to see all the crashing waves
As I've done nothing of the sort.
Barb, it was magnificent, you really must see it - we were there in October
This is no place for battles.
Well I’ve just found out something rather erm, “interesting†- as a friend alerted me to in an e-mail, telling me to look at “today’s†chat archive starting at 10:42 pm
we went long ago when I was a child to Long Beach....actually it was the year there were two murders and we wondered why there were helicopters. It was great watching the waves
RIGHT O TWAT You want a fight here
maybe you guys should get a room
hi jili
Well it can't involve me, as I've said nothing about you or anyone else here. You have some imagination.
I agree Jilli, no need for unkind words in chog
Maybe she should give up and be silent. There is no need for this nastiness she insists on trying to create. It's ridiculous. Nonsense.
I couldn't agree more, Jill and Flo.
Herin, behave yourself.
cool iceberg jilli
Thanks, barb, and hi!
ah, daughter just signed in, brb
fireworks
I'm finding this grid hard again.
what is it some say....phantom word...forth
last word tr7
yeah josh
Lets see: that is why I have about half a dozen emails from Julian Clary in my email in box. Talk about imagination. Would you prefer me to post ALL of them in a public web page humiliating you like you do to others. Thankfully I have a little bit more tact that to stoop to someone as low as you and a complete embarrassment to the Theatre and GLBT scene. (Go right ahead and call me a homophobe all you like since I have been fighting for equal gay rights for the last 12 years)
herin, let it go for goodness sake
I heartily second that, flosey.
settle all and have a group hugzz!!!
i can give clues for a few minutes in between personal attacks, if anyone wants
I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot poll held by someone else.
pole even
thanks for the offer josh
Considering I only sent you two, that is indeed some imagination. I replied to the two you sent - that was it. Yes, go right ahead - I haven't said anything to be ashamed of, as you seem to believe. Jill received BCC copies of each at the time they were sent to you - so nice try. I'm not an embarrassment to anything - but you're certainly embarrassing youself here, and probably everyone else. Nice going. Why would I call you a homophobe? You haven't made any anti-gay slurs I'm aware of - certainly none here. Homophobe wouldn't be the term for you. Now please - grow up, get a life and mind your own business.
I will not let it go until you all see what a complete arse this person is and how many others don't babble anymore because of this shit
WTG josh
Stop it, herin!
Erm, Natalie. There is only one person making a complete arse of themselves and I'm sorry to say, it certainly isn't me.
it takes at least one to stop a back and forth such as this, just saying
there isn't any lickety yet right or is mine just not loading?
el 6 anyone?
Yes, Josh. But when absolute lies are being posted, I do feel some need to correct them - as you might.
I have clues in my profile
thanks grem
No Lickety, barb, but gremlin posted a list in his profile, the sweetie.
dalia - it's ei6, not el
there's no el6 - ei6 you mean?
Oooh. Need glasses, apparently. ty, grem
dalia - see the two letters at the bottom of the 4th column? the ei6 is the companion word to reading those two letters from the bottom up
thanks, I had ei long ago; just spent at least 5 minutes on the phantom el, however.;P
ha - congrats - don't forget the ne7 that looks like a sibling of that one
lol dalia, I've done that many times
I've been suffering for sometime over that ei6...thanks
ok, must try to get at least a token amount of sleep tonight - good luck everyone and happy undistracted babbling
Night, josh!
by josh
good night josh, sweet dreams
gn and good luck josh
well I have 50 words...off to bed for me night all
JC I have 2 you emails you sent me 4 emails you have sent that I got CCed so if you think I am lying would you like me to wordpress all 6 of the emails?
well done Barb, goodnight
*Yawn.*
gn barb
question before I go how come niblet isnt a word? did I spell it wrong?
That's correct, Barb - should work?
it just won't take that word. I tried it too.
But you're right - it doesn't.
Hmmm.
I think it's a trade name, barb.
maybe...
Is it?
I think so.
oh well okay really going now (((hugs))) everyone
poof
Heh, I tried "niblet" too.
Good night, Barb.
night again, barb!
gawd, I'd like to get at least halfway here! Nowhere near now :(
Neither am I, Jill - only at 49 words.
well, at least it's morning where you are, JC!
morning all...
I'm at 83, hope to get half way before hitting the sack
hello rolin
how many words are there, btw?
181, dalia
181 words
ty, jilli
hey flosey...did you know i met julian clary a few months ago?
no, how nice rolin
yeah... i asked him if he had heard of the website...playbabble...
did you, rolin? Where?
did you see Julian perform?
i went to his show that was on near me...
great, rolin
and you got to meet him after the show?
yeah it was a fun show....but his reaction was that he'd never heard of babble...
strange!
yup..ppl could line up and get pics and have him sign merchandise....
oh, did you get a pic together?
nah..... i was just interested in seeing if he would either verify our j.c.....or expose him
but now when i think about it...either our j.c. is a fake... or the real one prefers not to acknowledge us...
either way....its not nice
either way....its not nice
hmmm, strange
im wondering if j.c.is still online...which he appears to be... would come and settle it for me..
Dr_God has verified that JC is who he says he is.
Is Julian Clary someone famous?
good jilli, that's settled
hes a well known comedian....turned author....
just returned from shows in Australia
He's well known in the UK and Australia and NZ.
I'm good at not knowing celebrities even in the U.S.
cool..so if dr. god says he is julian clary.. the maybe he should change his login....to j.e.....lol
And JC is no fake.
lol, me too grem, me too
j.e.?????
Good morning everyone:)
Hello jean
hello Jean
I also had to ask someone recently who Stephen Fry was.
he has denied us jilli....
hi jean.
I can't see how, rolin.
google helps me with those issues grem
Look, JC just wants to play a word game.
Yeah, but it's a fun way to get a conversation going, heh.
sure...and thats great.... but why pretend he doesnt.... he looked me in the eyes and said he didnt know what i was talking about... why couldnt he have said..oh hi rolin..nice to meet you...move on..
There is that going for it. I knew I knew Stephen Fry from somewhere, but had to google him to figure it out.
morning all, how many words??
181 diann
morning diann 181
ok, 91/90, just tipped the scale ever so slightly!
goodnight everyone, hope to finish this tomorrow
have a luncheon to attend following pool exercise class
well done, flosey -- g'night!
gn flo
nite flosey
Hello everyone
hey lynxxx..hows things?
hi Rolin. Really good. Winter has arrived, cold and darkish at 5.30. Lovely! How are you and family?
we're really well.. busy... my kids have had successes.. but im watching the election results very closely..
Yeah, the good voter turnout is making the news here - bad luck about that!
well i dont understand why they run elections on a weekday...!... why no the weekend like aus...
It would be asking for trouble it seems - perhaps they don't want to pay penalty rates to electoral workers?
lol.. perhaps.. tho penalty rates really dont exist here anymore... i used to do the polls when i was there... it was fun in our little town.. we knew mostly everyone so it was a social occasion really..
Good morning/evening all. You can't mess with tradition. Elections are always on a Thursday. It's in the law of England.
lol... but why haz?
I don't know why. It just is.....
Hello Haz. Shrove Tuesday, Voting Thursday - why not I suppose
Isn't it a good thing to not have to worry about what day of the week to have it? Election = Thursday.
It's like school uniform. A certainty in life in a changing world.
You don't have to worry about what to wear when you've got a school uniform. Mind you, there's always the customisingthat goes on.
but it seems to me that having it on a work day.. means that you are in dangre of having what happened.. ppl going out after work..and being locked out...with a sat...you have all day
The people in England obviously don't use the Irish method of voting - vote early, vote often. (There used to be an awful lot of personation going on, kind of wiped out now with photo id required). There must have been major problems with staffing or something in those centres.
im just listening to the bbc reports...and they are quoting 'the constitution'...but britain doesnt actually have a constitution
The constitution is unwritten but understood - a bit like the rules in babble chat etiquette.
it is amazing tho that a country that is so old..has never put the constitution to paper..
i wonde rif the queen votes??
perhaps because it has a queen/king ??
well strictly speaking aus has a queen..
I know, but I kind of like it. The constitiution has come together over hundreds of years and is subject to change etc.
I'm not sure if she is permitted to vote or not.
She probably says that she can't vote just to keep the candidates away.
Can you imagine loudspeaker cars circling Buckingham Palace. 'Make your vote count!'
lol...oh if only we could all do the same
they could sponsoe buzzbies in party colours..
And bribe the guards to wear rosettes?
hi everyone
hi Andree!
should i thow my hat in first, haven't been on in over a month
Hello Andree!
Busy with life?
Nice to see you! What have you been up to?
made the decision to move the office home and it has taken quite some doing
not life lynxxx, I really need to get a life
Oh yes, I remember you saying you were going to do that. Has the move been completely accomplished now?
You were there for so long, I suppose there was a lot to sort out. How is it working for you?
I am now ensconsed in what was supposed to be the dining room, everything in its place and I feel much more relaxed working
Good for you. I'm sure Hugo approves?
Hugo is probaby miffed he doesn't get to go in the car each day (I know Stew would be!)
afternoon!!
I ditched the panasonic 7 phone system I had[ will get my niece to sell it on ebay for me] and found a 2 line phone with 3 handsets so I can wonder up to the veg patch if I like. The fax, computer, fax and eptos machine took some more lines and so I am all set up
Hello Katie!
hi Katie! Siesta time again?
Don't encourage her, lynxxx.
I think there must have been an office here once as I was suprised to be able to get so many lines
it will please you to know we are just doing the online check in to come home
Hugo loves having me home all the time
Hugo is a sensible dog.
I suppose there's no chance of you being stranded, Katie?
we were hoping but unfortunately it@s not looking likrly lol
How could you bear to be away with the election happening?
the internet is a wonderful thing
It's not the same. You don't get David Dimbleby squinting through his glasses on the internet. (Has no-one told him about varifocals?)
Can you vote online?
I don't think so - postal votes are about as sophisticated as we get.
us too haz, I guess voting on line would open a can of worms
and you can only do that if you are in the country 4 days before the election
I couldn't even begin to work out how they'd verify identity etc.
It does seem so logical though, wonder how long before it happens
You could use something like your tax file # as identification
holy fireworks I finished
I'm sure younger people would embrace the idea - older people I'm not so sure about. There were major difficulties here when the government made pensioners put their money into an account which they could only access using a fiddly wee machine.
Well done, Ormal!
Hooray for Ormal!
morning all
Lots of old people got confused with pin numbers, the keypad was small and fiddly to work with. It was great in theory but badly handled in practice.
Good morning, peri, you're up early!
ty both and morning peri
yay ormal
hi peri
is there a list?
can't find the n and the e in the left column
hi Peri
in gremlinns profile. I had to use it or never would have been able to finish
I've just looked. Not Lickety.
duh, just found the ne4
Don't be a goose, peri, of course you can spot the ne4.
gj Ormal
hi Grem
hey lynxxx
and I found the e too, nbt
peri, don't forget to take off the first e for another word.
or put another letter in front
ty Haz
I did gremlinn, ty
thanks grem! My internets getting all shady on me, so I think I'll retire for the two hours until I have to wake up for the day.
I haven't looked at your game yet Grem. Having many hits?
I think he's counting them individually.
Going to take a break, back shortly.
bye for now Haz
lynxxx: about 120, with 10 people or so having finished it
I don't know if anyone from here has played it.
Hope it works for you, you have been working at it for a long time. Just a hobby or do you want to earn a living from it?
Hobby
It helped me get my last job, maybe.
software testing for cell phone games
great
BBL
ahh what a grim day - my constituency is still under conservative rule, and I see a dear friend of mine was slated and attacked in the chat log this morning. vicious and uncalled for.
morning all...again
i am losing the entire day listening to the elction result debate..absolutely fascinating..
Don't start it all again, please. Your dear friend has taken up more than enough babble time, in my opinion. And yes, I'm entitled to have one.
starting nothing, just expressing my disappointment. even under the tories there's no law against that...
did you get the result you hoped for, Rolin?
oh no ...while i think a hung parliament is theoretical interesting..its a disaster for the financial markets.. and the idea of a minority conservative gov...which i think will happen fills me with dread
HI.
Hello, herin.
quite - and in the face of so much Lib Dem optimism, as well! it worries me because we're in a time where, I think, where we need some powerful and decisive government...a hung parliament won't really achieve that
I am so confused as to what happens now in England parliament.
no it wont... so i think it will be 1974 all over again...
Any party, in order to have a majority, has to have 326 seats. In the event of failing to meet that, the parties can join forces in collaboration.
I was talking to the B.f about it and reading the uk google news
clegg is now saying that the tories should try to form a gov.
The minority parties can try to get some of their favourite policies adopted etc. It'll come down to who Nick Clegg is prepared to back.
See I really can't comment on the whole UK PM thing as I don't like our 2 current choices.
Conservatives have won more seats, they would claim moral victory in that why should the two losing parties form a government. There'll be a bit of horse-trading.
I just saw the most saddest video. A kitty tried to save his friend :(
interesting mess. I'm off though, got a hospital visit to make
cya later
Take care Nancy
Dog walk/fetch the paper/fresh air time.
Good morning all.
I am he4, th5 and everywhere. Where are my Babble buddies?
*waving to lurkers*
that would be me...hi scrabbler!
hi scrabbs
suffering from insomnia...this was a very hard one for me!
Hi ddb + blueheron!
I didn't sleep well either--agonizing toothache. T minus 2 hrs for root canal and relief of pain.
I saw a green heron at a pond the other day.
ouch! hope all goes well for you later!
Nice! I saw a blue fly over yesterday.
I just love birds. We have a rosebreasted grosbeak that just stopped in for a snack.
I love birds too! I have 4 feeders, 2 box nests + 2 suet feeders scattered out front so I can see my feathered friends.
Those rosebreasted grosbeaks--the males--are gorgeous.
Pretty soon the hummers will be back.
of course we have the red squirrels and chipmunks. I love watching the chippies loading up their pouches with seeds. They are so cute.
And I must put my hummingbird feeders out!
Me too! With both of those. I love chippies!
where do you live scrabbs?
Where do you live?
I live in the country, in the woods, 35 miles southeast of Buffalo.
Good morning, everyone.
Hi Merk
I'm in New Hampshire, spring has finally arrived.
morning merk
We had a wonderful April + early May--many summery days.
last week we had 18 inches of snow
only in New England. I live in the White Mountains.
Morning all. Stats are in my profile and in BabAnon for anyone who want them.
thanks!
Gotta go. Happy Babbling all.x
I heard about the snow in VT/NH, blueheron.
I have to get ready to leave. 50 min drive to endodontist. Pain is so bad that I feel nauseated. Bye all.
take care scrabbs.
Bye, Blueheron!

the in9 could be to place a protective sheet inside something, and one of the eights (in 8/40) is n prison inmate. I don't have the other 8, sorry mm.
Hello again. Hi Ata! home now?
not yet, another few days :) Monday!
is *a* prison inmate
I've been making friends with a completely mad greyhound called Milo
ta city
that would be an interesting sight - didn't you say you were in plaster?
yw
yep! he's the dog of the people who own this house, he's an escape artist extraordinaire, he tries to stow away on the boats to the main island!
Sounds like a hoot, hope Hobbit isn't being lead too far astray
aha got the 9, ty!
everyone *loves* her here! She gets treats in the pub every time we go in, and a special soft dog blanket to lie on
thanks city for the 8 and 9
how lovely, she must be in heaven
and hello everyone
hi AnnieB
yw, does anyone have the other 8, though? My monkeys want lunch!
she is! AND she found a pasty in a hedge a few days ago!!!!!
hi lynxxxie, Ata, mm, and everyone here
hi Annie!
I just started and saw your clues...going to put up a pot of cofee
*grins* pasty in a hedge ... the ultimate doggie score
good morning {{Annie}}, {{Lynxxx}}, {{Ata}}, City 17, Movieman and everyone not chatting
Hi (((Mom)))
{{Annie}}
I know!!!! She darted off and dragged out a paper napkin - someone must have thrown away their pasty for some odd reason and she discovered it inside the napkin! I've never seen her so impressed
she probably thinks you've taken her on a trip to heaven - nowhere else is ever going to compare!
I know. She spoiled for life now. Her normal day to day existence is going to be soooo boring
lol
reading back .... so glad you will get to go home soon Ata
me too! I love it down here, the Scillies are my favourite place, but home will be a lot more comfortable
me8.45 has a rock ending
I am sure it will be.

He caused quite a flap
Hi Nono, {{Red}}, Guernseygirl
hi Mom
went away to watch Gordon Brown give his statement. back looking for words now. does anyhone have a list?
what did GB have to say?
what was the statement?
gremlin has one in his profile
it will take time to resolve the situation, but he has offered a change to the voting system, which is obviously a carrot for the lib dems
thanks nan
yw
what situation? the fact that some voters could not get into the polling stations?
the entire lack of no one party being in the majority
not that. we have a hung parliament - no one party has an overall majority
not clear who will get to be in power
Do your parties not have preferences?
um?
at the moment they are arguing about which has the strongest claim to lead. both major parties would like the lib dems to support them so that they could get an overall majority of the seats
Helo
lib dems came third
Not so in Australia. The essence of preferential voting is that voters number candidates on the ballot paper in a rank order of choice. You put the number 1 next to your first choice candidate, 2 next to your second choice, and so on. If your first choice candidate is not elected and no candidate receives half of the vote, your vote may be re-examined for its next preference. The point of the system is to elect the most preferred candidate, to choose the candidate that can build an absolute majority of support in the electorate rather than the simple majority required for first past the post voting.
sorry, voting preferences as under
that is the system that the lib dems (and me) would like over here. it seems much fairer
wow, you can type fast, lynxx
lol
Lynxx can I put neither on the vote this year and vote Julia Gillard
{{Herin}}
My daughter and I were just wondering today if anyone would vote for Tony Abbott (we couldn't)
Hi Mom

There's a list in gremlinn's profile

Hi Eva

Bye Mom.. See you later if you come back
Hi Eva
I will be back - have 55 words left - happy babbling
how are we, this TGIF?
Hey ho, hello, hello.
Hi Haz
good eva and you
heigh ho, Hazel
Yeah its TGIF
and hi Evan
Hello! It's cold here today but I've been brave and swapped my winter clothes over for my summer clothes. A bi-annual task which leaves me surprised at the clothes I had forgotten I had.
You are being very brave Haz .... brrrrrrrrr
Yes, I went through my summer clothes the other day and found new (really old) clothes I forgot I had too
I'm being optimistic.
Saved me money which is always a welcome occurence
I know! I've also filled a bag with clothes that shouldn't see the light of day again.
I am trying to get down to 50 left so I can get on with the day.
clue for the last bl 5/14
Not sure if it's the last - plural of bl4/6 before the Scots bl7 for chatter.
No, there's the wee pancake after it.
ty Haz
Thanks Haz, the chatter gave me the last 2 to get to 50 left.....be back later, dear babblers
You're welcome - bye Annie, see you later.
Hi Annie
Hi and by Boo!
how many words today?
hi all
181
thanks boobear
yw
Hello TO!
hi haz!
How are you?
fine, but harried!
Who or what is harrying you?
one appointment that makes me rearrange the whole day. two others that did ot work out but i also tried to cram in
No wonder you feel stressed, it's hateful when you have to rearrange plans especially if other things hang on them.
well in fairness if i am to go to babble meet tomorro,w need to work today. going to conisgnment shop shortly with rejected summer stuff
Oh, is the babble meet tomorrow? Are you excited? And are there new people going to be there?
Three questions in one post. You'd think I was nosy or something...
oh wow, i forgot all about the babble meetup tomorrow. wont be able to make it, unfortunately. :/
have not met brookie, she is coming. have you seen anythign about baby twobit?
hi evaN
have you been on fb> wondering about the baby
No, haven't heard any news on the baby front, TO. Hello EvaN.
hola. :)
post last night said the baby was "dawdling". think she will be a babbler? ;)
Do they know already that it's to be a girl?
yes.
That gives them a head start on working out names, at least.
yes but they're not letting one. dan posted the nicest video of the nursery, practiing with new video camera
Hi again, back to try for some more words.
Hello Mom.
hi mom!
Hi Haz and TO
reading back through the chat. Who is having a baby?
Not me, that's for sure....
i think "snither" should be a word...need to come up with a definition
Snither here nor there. Morning, mates!
Oh Haz, think of the adventure you would have.
dan2bit . actually, mr.s dan2bit
good morning Judi
Hello, Judi!
that is neat. Miss little ones around here
hi judi. judi is NOT coming to the babble meet. she doesn't love us
Mom, I'm just not the adventurous type! Although funnily enough, I saw a lovely baby yesterday out shopping and had to resist the urge to pick him up and cuddle him.
Huh? Who? Where? What?
Now Judi is going to pretend she wasn't invited.
i can honestly say i 've never really felt that emotion.
Refresh my swiss cheese memory. When is the meet?
I can't say as I did until I had my own.
balto tomorrow, 1300.
Really? He was a darling. I stood like a fool trying to get a smile.
all the children I had seen up until then were 'crumb snatchers, curtain climbers, rug rats" :-)
Hmmm. I'm free. Where's it going to be?
i;ve heard that. perhaps it's bnautre's way, from the days when having them was not a matter of choice,
chek seain's profile. it's a diner near johns hopkins
I like babies from about the 3 month to the 9 month stage especially. Old enough to know what you're doing with them, not old enough to be on the move and be potentially suicidal.
i must call je, i don't think i even have the name may be in my browser history
I always want to feel their hair Haz...so soft...am getting 21 month old granddaughter this evening for a sleep over
I will go up to the age of 5, then they have to stop aging.
sounds lovely Seaspray, and hello
I will probably be the suicidal
one
its at paper moon, i do believe...
Hello, Seaspray. You'll enjoy her company, I'm sure.
yes, ty , evaN
I will, she is such a sweetie
imean they are cute and all but not overwhelmingly so
I hope you all have a grand time tomorrow. Please say hello to everyone for me.
i want a london meetup!
London meet-ups are the best. They outshine the rest.
Modest to the last I see Haz :) Greetings all.
hey, fm!
hi FMitch
Mom did you get a lot of rain recently?
uh oh, time to get ready to roll.
Hello FM!
Sea, just a couple of inches, much worse to the south of us.
Hi TO, Haz, Mom and all
have a good day TO
I've just put the heating on as it is so chilly today :(
See you later, TO. And enjoy the babble meet-up. We'll expect a full report.
i will be home next friday so i can catch up with the day crowd is this a good time?
It IS chilly, isn't it?
and photos too please!!!
it will be about 76 here then plunging to 61 on sunday
* nice here *
Yes, this tends to be a livelier time of the day than a bit early on, although it can vary.
Friend of mine lives near Nashville and sent pics...wow!
Hello, ruru.
Hi Ruru
Its only 50 today. Hi ruru!
i was trying to iron shorts and t shirt to take to shop to sell what a comedy!
good afternoon Ladies
Plunging to 61? We'd call that a heatwave here.
I have seen pictures from Tennessee, and it is just awful
une is ok
here I will iron them TO
Okay, all you smarty pants. I just e-mailed dcseain and advised him that I will make an appearance at the Diner in Baltimore tomorrow!
YAYAYAYAYY
what time shall i pick you up?
I ironed all my T-shirts ready for putting in the drawers. *smug*
or taking the train
Must leave shortly to welcome friend home from the hospital...he was riding his motorcycle to work wednesday and got hit by a tractor trailer...he is a very luck man
Squeeeee!
I am glad that Une is okay. I haven't seen her on babble to ask
*in awe*
you wear T shirts?
very lucky Sea
Well, you could come to my house, TO and we can drive down in my car from there.
judi you do have ny number in case
Only when the twin sets and pearls are at the dry cleaners.
*in shock*
LOLOLOLOL
lol
you send your pearls to the dry cleaners?
must go catch you later
:)
Byeee TO
at least to tend the dryer
And I make sure not to go out of the house.
bye bye TO
Bye, TO!
No, I don't, TO. How do you want to exchange this info?
I'll never be able to afford to have my pearls dry cleaned lol
I don't have real pearls, just costume jewelry
Pearls are lovely, but to be honest, the fake ones are so good that I don't see that you can justify the price of the real ones.
Saves on the insurance then Mom
the imitation stuff can go in the dryer Mom
yes it does FMitch
Apparently, you can tell the real from the fake because real pearls are gritty to the teeth. How many of us go round demanding to have a go at someone's pearls with your pearlies?
lol Haz.
Who wants to bite them?
When I got engaged a person actually took my engagement ring to a piece of glass to see if it was a real diamond
A vampire closing in the a meal perhaps?
hey, mom! Yes my family in Cookeville and moi in Nashville are fine :-)
Seriously? The cheek!
Hello Une!
{{{{{UNE}}}}} I am so glad to hear that Une
Good to hear that Une.
omg...I would not have been happy Mom
mom, when I drove back from Michigan Sunday, it looked like KY had a ton of rain as well!!
I was stunned
looks prety bad on the news
I'm extremely lucky -- damage is estimated at near a billion dollars at this point
south of us was terrible Une, we had a funeral to go to in RIchmond and the rain was horrendous
*pretty*
That is so wrong on so many counts. I hope they weren't invited to the wedding.
how was the graduation, Une?
lol Haz
Haz, it was his brother
it was good, thanks -- my graduate is in my icon :-)
Oh, I would have slapped the s*** out of him them!
(une... how was the wine?)
*then
Ruru, the graduate, her French dad, and I really enjoyed the wine!!!
Dear goodness. I'm not normally in favour of violence, but good grief, that's appalling.
believe me I wanted to. I grabbed it out of his hand and told him what an ass he was
she is lovely, Une
thanks, mom :-)
Good for you, Mom.
Congrats on graduating Une...that is exciting...daughter graduated a year ago and we were talking about it just yesterday
Well done to the graduate, Une. What's next for her?
seaspray, it was her second master's degree!!
oh she's a professional student
Haz, University of Michigan has hired her fulltime as "Librarian for French Studies"
lol those probably would have been my exact words Mom
that is great Une
with a few additional ones
well, ruru, she's taking a break before considering pursuing a PhD . . . but it's a possibility! LOL
Excellent, I hope she enjoys her new position. That's quite a distance from you, isn't it?
wow, very ambitious
lol Seaspray
She deserves to rest on her laurels for a little while at least!
Haz, at least I can drive there in 8 hours -- it could have been much further, as she considered Idaho, Maine, and others FAR away! :-)
Now we are in the midst of planning a wedding
how exciting, seaspray!
it was funny, when he bought the engagement ring for his now ex=wife, she would n't settle for anything less than one carat. It was milky looking and really ugly. I told him his was zirconia
oh Sea, a wedding. How wonderful
(good to see you, fmitch)
Haha Mom
haha Mom
Nothing worse than milky looking and ugly in a diamond - sorry zirconia.
I got a lot of laughs out of it
but it was a carat!
Daughters ring is gorgeous..we told him for 7 years if he didn't go for a big one not to buy one at all lol
or a carrot?
mrs ru wants BIG ones for her anniversary coming up
exactly FMitch, a carrot would have been a better idea
Mrs Ru probably deserves them.
how big is big ruru?
and what anniversary?
Haz, we had an adorable dog moment on Sunday -- had brunch here: (www.burnttoastinn.com) -- delightful owner had a huge St. Bernard who gave major kisses to everyone!! :-)
hmmm 1 carat each ear
Haz got a lovely one for her anniversary.
that will stretch her ear lobes
I did. *smug*
ear or year ruru?
do tell Haz
I will try that one MOM./..lol
What # anniversary is it for the rurus?
25th
hola
congrats ruru and Mrs. Ruru
Oh congrats ruru and Mrs ruru!
take 24 carrots and string them on a necklace and give her a 24 carrot necklace
hey Happy Silver Anniversary!!!! (matches your hair?)
Silver anniversary three years ago, I requested a new ring. Husband kindly let me choose. I had a ball! I tried on lots, ended up with not what I had in mind, but I love it. Four diamonds set in diamond formation.
**sting them on thread**
Awesome! Ours too - in October. We're going to San Antonio, TX for 7 days. I'd drop dead if he got me diamond anything.
woohoo to the rurus!!
{{{KJE}}} hello
Une - love the name of the Inn.
only my sideburns kje..
me too, fmitch!
hi (((mom)))
howdy, kje :-)
sounds lovely Haz
Hey kje
hi all
Daughter is getting married in October Judi
Hello, kje.
Mom - just looked at your icon pic. Outstanding.
ru - that is just b/c there isn't much else left?
thank you Judi
PFHTLLLLLTTTT!!!!!!!!!! not true
LOL - well congrats!
Sigh. We wanted to go to Yosemite, but the prices were well out of our paltry budget.
is it that expensive Judi? wow
bye al, judi , if you want to hook up ccall me
TTFN TO!
Bye, TO.
I am watching Andy Griffith and I love seeing the prices of things posted on the grocery store windows
bye bye TO
I don't have your number, TO!
I like to remember the price of a gallon of gas when I started driving
I remember 65 cents
and the drive in sub shop that sold 15 cent hamburgers
i remember fifty cent
and movies for 50 cents!
suddenly I feel very old
oh, we aren't talking music?
Big Boys for 75 cents
penny candy?
McDonalds 15 cents and WhiteCastles for a nickel
I love penny candy
Oh don't, it is crazy when you think back to how little things costs. I bought an avocado yesterday and it costs me a £1 and was thinking I remember when they used to be 2 for 50p and that wasn't so long ago.
om 1970 gas was 35 cents
*in (not om!!)
now thats what I remember Une
British fuel was never as cheap as US, it's got out of hand now.
as I graduated high school in 71
judi come back after lunch or get it from je
and my dad was a Gulf distributor so I could fill up for free if I drove over to "the plant" :-)
late have to run
bye, TO
Okay, TO. I'll be back around 1:00 est.
what does gas cost Haz?
I never remember gas being less than a dollar...
it is now $2.99 as of yesterday
gotta run too...bbl today...hagd everyone
bye, sea!!
£1.22 a litre for unleaded here.
bye bye Sea, enjoy your granddaughter tonight
Hard to translate into dollars and gallons. I have a little Renault Clio. It cost me over £50 to fill up recently.
must take pups out to pee . . . BBL!
There was a brief period in the mid to late 80's where it went down to 0.78 per gallon or so. Time warp. Apparently the Arabs drilled too much. Practically had to give it away.
Bye, Seaspray.
4 litres in a gallon
I remember .29 per gallon
and £1 = about $1.50
wow, FMitch
I was just using the currency converter
So I think that means it is $7.18 ish a gallon.
I don't do a big mileage, just tootle around town, but it must be awful for people who have to use their cars a lot.
unbelievable
clue for fo 4/8
I didn't drive until late 1980, but I do remember the gas lines inthe 70s
Hi Boo, sorry I don't have it
Diesel is even more expensive.
you wouldn't want to know what I spend in gas annually
and all the OPEC news
diesel is 3.09/gal here
(she probably shouldn't drive now.. thinks ruru)
fo4/8 - variant spelling of the alpine wind. Same structure as the name of J*** the Baptist.
We envy your mass transit systems though. Unless one lives in a major metropolitan city, a personal car is absolutely necessary.
I am an excellent driver
thanks Haz
ty haz
I have 57 left and have ground to a halt
11:00, have been here for 1 hour. Time to do some housework.
You're welcome.
{{{Hugs}}} to all of you
Bye Mom!
Bye, Mom, enjoy housework!
bye mom!
bye bye Haz and KJE. I don't mind the housework.
bye Mom. A woman's work is never done.
bye bye FMitch
(who created that li4?)
bye bye Boo, I tell that to my sweetie all the time and he tells me to stop doing it then. lol
flipping heck, just caught the weather forecast and it is going to be even colder tomorrow, just when I was getting used to spring!
Ruru, I first heard it on the Flintstones
Even colder? I put those woollies away too soon.
have the of5, what is the other?
Temps are going to drop here too, FM. Apparently, we've caught your "cold".
Another of5.
Yes you did HAz, it is all your fault for casting a clout before May was out (tsk tsk).
LOL mom! are we all quoting wilma - too funny
You're right, FM. For once, you bear no blame.
I have two of 5 KJE
*faints*
mark that in stone FMitch
I will frame that post for posterity!
oh crap - thanks mom
you're welcome
But don't get carried away, it's just a temporary thing. Normal blame will be resumed shortly.
**poof**
Going to put the kettle on back in a bit.
Down to 88. Gosh. This is a sticky one.
It takes a bit of work, that's for sure.
me 5/12?
me5/12 - a French disturbance/crowd
me5 - mayhem
Or me5/12 - Mr Haggard of country music fame.
I only have two me5/12s so far. One is pandamonium.
or me + confederate general robert e.
oh damn it
thank you
Back again. Glad I didn't start todays grid, hope for a more clement one on the morrow.
Pardon my spelling on that if it is incorrect.
Hows Dylan coming along ruru?
Pandemonium. Pandamonium - when they escape from the zoo.
he is turning out to be a very nice boy...
Hehe Haz Under your tutelage ruru I am sure he will be great :)
Precisely, Haz.
They're not known for being fast movers, so I reckon the keepers would have them rounded up quickly. Unless they had help from the outside with getaway vehicles.
Panda cars, in fact.
Hello, all.
Absolutely, VI. Hello!
Well Fiat did make a car especially for them HAz (or at least named after them) :)
Hiya, Vic!
Greetings Vi!
Pondering: what should I have for lunch?
We saw one just the other day, stalking the wild bamboo with skill and guile.
What would you like to have?
Was the panda on its own, VI?
clue for he 7 pls
I thought they drove Pandatsuns.
mmmm steak, frites and Bernaise sauce.
he7 - they're getting shorter all the time.
Yeah. His wife had taken to her bed in case of pregnancy.
This was at the National Zoo in D.C.
he7 - what I dread unravelling in case I have to re5/14 it.
Taken to her bed? Morning sickness, I suppose.
*ponders if mammals get morning sickness*
They had closed the panda house so no one could go inside, so she could get some privacy. But the gentleman was outside.
We're mammals, FM. (Although I got evening sickness, not morning sickness, myself.)
Was he looking suitably proud? Handing out cigars? Pacing up and down in practice for the birth?
**Pouts because this is another grid of phantoms!**
Hey ho Uni!
Was I just called ho Uni? Hmmm..
I will punctuate. Hey ho, Uni!
Is that better?
Well, are lengths of bamboo close enough to count as cigars?
Hello, Uni!
don't sound better haz lol
Lynn Truss would be proud! Also, I've got a short book in your profile. How exciting!
Lol Vi, was thinking about poor elephant with her gestation period. Hello Uni!!!!!!
I think so. If he was making pretend smoke rings, then I think you can safely assume that bamboo = cigar.
'Lo all!
Has my mother made her promised appearance yet today?
True, FM. No fun.
No, she has not. I've sat here for HOURS. HOURS when I could have been cleaning something.
Not that I have seen Uni but at least we got to play yesterday :) LOL Haz
AH, we are awaiting a visitation?
I've heard that the PB ceiling could use a scrub..
*pats down hair and sits up starighter*
And you're looking at me to tackle the ceiling? Me, little tiny me?
Ceilings are FM's job, I think.
It's floors for you and me, Haz.
Methinks we might be waiting a while. The weather here is magnificent and I believe hers is as well. She'll never come inside!
Crap. I just realized we don't have Lickety's clues today.
No need to be heightist Vi ;)
*musses hair and slouches back down*
I'll clean (out) the bookshelf. I've contributed.
Absolutely, Vi. Height challenged people know their limitations.
Judi there is a list on BabAnon courtesy of Jacula.
Five foot ten is too short to do ceilings, right? Right!
Ty. Can't get to Babanon, tho.
She has it on her profile as well.
lol, whoever is cleaning the bookshelves in pb better wait cause im dumping off a bunch of books:)
you 5' 10" Uni?
Huh, I'm married to a Person of Height and my children will be taller than me in no time.
Oy, I can't finish grids without expert anymore. Should never have started :)
Hiya, Crossy!
"person of height" - LOLOL
Hey crossy ((()))
(((FM)))
Roundabouts, FM. If I remember correctly, you're taller than me! I think we should test though, just pop on over to NS.
Vi, I know the problem. My older daughter towers above me. The younger one is much more my size.
Hello, New Arrivals.
you remember correctly - am 6' but would love to come over and prove it :)
Hello and goodbye...
crossy is 6ft right on da nose;)
Hoo, it's a party up in here. *Puts on party tinfoil hat and snaps suspenders*.
She really is that tall, is FM.
SO if your nose is at the 6' mark, the top of your head must be...
lol
No stilts for FM when she does the ceiling.
...hopefully higher than your nose. Would hate to think of you as a low brow.
Party? ***Dons lampshade***
lol. Depends how snooty he is, I guess!
She's here! Hooray!
Where did we leave the tin foil lampshades?
Hm, has it got brighter or dimmer with Lori in the lampshade?
Yay *locks and loads*!!
Hello Lori! Nice to see you.
depends on how many beers we've had
Hello, Lori!
Well, Uni, that depends how lit up Lori is!
Retreating under the desk. This is going to get messy.
***removes lampshade and dons warfare helemt, dives in to foxhole***
Oh no. *Hiding in cupboard with water balloons filled with wine*. Just in case.
Water balloons filled with wine, how inventive!
*just keeps typing unaccepted words with stoic dignity*
This way you can drink them if no-one bothers you..
Come on out everyone *places water splurger on the ground* Lovely to see yo again Lori.
Hazaurus! No worries about getting under the desk. All that's required for order to reign is FM's proper b ehavior .....
Balloon sucking. How undignified. (could you pass one over, please?)
Red, white or rose, Judi? (Pretend there's an accent on that e, please.)
It's okay, I've fitted the extra long arm extensions so that I can keep typing. The periscope is difficult to master, but we're getting there.
*grins, remembering the last time Haz retreated under the desk*
'Tis true Haz, yesterday I was reborn. I'm neither new nor improved, just back. :)
White, please. Sauvignon Blanc if you have it (preferably a New Zealand).
Oh, I know. I can feel the blushes starting again.
and cherished Lori.
You are older though! Perhaps wiser.
wine filled balloons? ***That girl must have ahd terrible parenting***
Well, Lori, I'm very pleased to see you. You've been missed.
I've also got a 2 l. bottle of a terrible white "wine" known as "The Great White". Tastes awful and is 20%. Needs to go!
Pffth. And you thought you could only put cocaine in balloons.
You'll notice I've taken typing classes during my hiatus.
If you've been missed, it's just because FM's aim isn't very good! ;)
LOL Vi!
*Re-align's FM's catapult*. Try again!
Dump it, Uni. Twould be unethical to subject anyone else to it.
Vic beat me to it. ***foiled again***
Did you do an FM sponsored correspondence course, Lori? 'The art of tiping'
BB after lunch. *POOF*
oh ha ha very fuuny Bye Judi
Bye, Judi.
*hands Lori the tin foil, the better to foil her again*
Bye, Judi.
Later Judi. Eye lurned a lot from FM's coarse.
Bye Judi!
My spelling mistakes have kept babble entertained for years now.
I wish "blempt" were a word. I don't like this grid.
With FM it's one on one co-respondents. Vic how much white out is on your screen with THIS grid?
I think the white-out is in my brain.
It's a stinker of a grid.
I tried some very impressive sounding words and they were declined. I think there's something wrong with enable.
Oh, there's just so much wrong with Enable.
Perhaps we should start our own dictionary
hey Vi.......remover 2 letters and it is a word.
Enable has little imagination. So unwilling to test new waters.
And we're all such an adventurous lot! :)
Alas, i did already have that bl4. But thanks, aebmusica.
Wonder wjhat it would take to get Dr_G to update to a newer version of Enable?
can someone reclue the he 7. I am stuck
But then there would be MORE words in the grid. That sounds like trouble.
uw
uw
Except when Enable accepts a word we don't know, we always complain about how stooopid it is, so maybe it's no wonder Enable won't stretch itself.
he7 - the length of a skirt, perhaps?
Hi aebmu
Good points both of you Vi and Uni
he 7 supposedly goes up and down with the stock market.
hi all and FM
hi all and FM
In that case, Vi, these days you'd need varying lengths for each hour!
Just wear pants.
(Or, if you're in the UK, trousers!)
fremble is too a word!
or trousers even if in the UK as you would get strange looks otherwise :)
To rhyme with tr7?
Exactly Hazurus. fremble, the pre quivering state
Well, you should probably wear pants, too, of course...
I thought that was premble?
dremble, when you get the news you'd not wanted to hear.
Was also going to query when Uni said she snapped her suspenders, did she mean the things that hold up socks or trousers or a particular piece of undergarment to hold up stockings? :)
I know. I wondered about that as well.
Uni was snapping 'em all! Whooeee!
LOL
She must be into bondage withat much strappage.
*** snork ***
Not to mention braces on both trousers and teeth...
*giggle*
my gosh, what's happening in the chog??!
clue for the lower n plz
Normal service has been resumed, is all.
ne4 - bird
It's the goose, moviewman.
There are tin foil hats by the door if you feel the need for protection, sciencegeek.
Whoa whoa whoa.
*** Once again I am forced to question her parenting ***G'd afternoon mm
We are discussing words that mean different things in the UK and the US, honest!
good lord i leave for 5 minutes and all hell breaks loose:)))
You may imagine whatever you like regarding suspenders, but I'm guessing that suspenders is comparable to garter? google time..
st 7/28?
ty haz
I show up and Hazaurus's typing goes to heck.
A perfectly scholarly linguistic discussion.
uh huh
Hey mm
st7/28 - same structure as an aspiring actress, but change the first vowel.
hey everyone
Thanks, Haz.
ty haz
Or, st plus a reworking of the hiring out again r5/10.
1st te 6/21?
You're welcome.

hi TraderKate
howdy kate

Apparently it's a fish. Literally.
Oh don't be cruel to crossy science, you know he can't eat it any more.

Weren't we good not to say anything bad about you, Ata?
Trying to read old chat, this chat and find words is impossible. Something must give..

would someone please clue the lone e
Impressive greeting, there, TraderKate! =)
bondage?? someone need a spanking? been a naughty girl??
ei6 - a word used when alternatives are being given.
Well, someone decided I was into bondage, then off to the races they went. I'm going back to my cupboard with my wine balloons.
ei6/21 - optional word
Blame FM.
you were. though I was almost disappointed that at least a few things weren't flung my way this morning. I obviusly need to be more obvious
Down boy, behave!
is today blame fm day?
ty! could not see that ..... have massive issues with words beginning with vowels.....
bbl
this century is blame FM century
It's Blame FM every day. It's just a fact of life.
Every day is blame FM day.
Poor Ata is definitely into bondage these days...
:
:)
LORIKINS!!
Goodness, it's taken you that long to notice Lori?
poor Ata doesn't get a choice lol
crossy brings out the ping pong paddle with the speed holes drilled into it....
Always blame FM day!
she was quiet, for once
Oh, everyone's beaten me to it. What else obvious can I state? Ata is smug?
LOL crossy, dangles bacon infront of his nose.
***I obviously need to be more obvious***
lol
quite concerned about earlier comments about unfriendliness of grid...
should i even attempt?
who said such nonsense?
No.
Unfriendliness of grid? Ned to be worried about unfriendliness of people! Also, don't do grid.
it has small teeth
Take a walk, read a book, drink lots of wine. Anything but this grid.
It's a stinker.
small teeth with a dab of poison actually
It's quite poopy.
Uni pass her one of your wine balloons
.. when haz sys it is a stinker, it gives me pause
I say again, it's a stinker.
Soooo glad I haven't started *borrows some of Atas smugness*
well kind of like a river full of those little fish with teeth that strip water buffalos
noooo it's all mine!!
th 7/36?
Fm stole my wine balloons! Chief of police!
i think i will take the coward's way out then. would prefer a tinfoil hat in a foxhole with lots of lovely red wine ballons =)
th7/36 - ends in actor Mr Brooks
Piranha? Really? That might be a little extreme..
Oh come on Ata you ahve so much of it you could share a litte :)
mr. brooks?
crossy put five galons of bacon vodka in the PB ,as he is not allowed to have any anymore;(
maybe a tiiiny bit
Mr Brooks, wrote films and appeared in them.
Wow, Uni do you have any more balloons for crossys contribution?
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
The Producers
The very ones.
First three letters of a yellow citrus fruit, backwards.
I love backwards clues, just to make this grid even more ghastly.
thank you
You're welcome.
ahh the bacon vodka will eat that plastic right up fm,better get something different
has poor soodles been in at all today?
uoy dluow Zah
crossy in all seriousness, it may be hard braking the habits now but just htink how much better you will sleep and feel after a while and then you can indulge from time to time.
Haz would you..
*Wonders if bacon vodka would just eat through the balloons?*
lol ata
I think she meant, "You would, Haz."
snap uni
you would, haz
you would like backwards clues
Oh! I was taking the whole backwards thing far too literally.
you are right indeed fm
or clues in the guise of Yoda?
No worries, Haz. I was with you!
Backwards, youw ould like?
could only manage that much backwardness!
and they have moved the date up since my apnea is so bad.i get fitted for my cpap on the 11th;))
hi, all, i'd like clues in any direction you choose.
lol Vi Yoda and FM sp mistakes all combined - a great craft there :)
If only there were some Ds in this grid...camelot king!

Hola, TO!
Good one Vi!
Hello TO!
i do 't know who started this, but it is making my head hurt...
!neht pots ll'I
Mine too Hi again TO!
although i did not make it downtown, this may turn out to be a very good day agter all
I started with a backwards clue, but who knew that they'd adopt this so readily?
sad part is i can read it at a glance, its all that typo training ive done
i told a someone in my art class that i sometimes chatted on this site and he said "watch out, you're probably being groomed"!
Why, TO?
LOL guernsey
Groomed? The only grooming going on here is what the dogs get.
Grooming? Hm!
hello cros, and uni, and gg
lol and just waht are we grooming you for??
that's what i said
what
Groomed to learn all sort of strange and unusual words.
hi, TO
howdy to
!tnuocca ym no ton ,esaelp
Well, we are creating the perfect word nerds. Sometimes.
Groomed? My goodness, how groomed are the rest of us, sitting around here in front of the computer all day!
stardom?

crwth!
because i saw a neighbor getting landscaping and decied to walk over. turned out she was not just getting lawn cut but having overgrwon stuff removed just wht i need, the guy will come here for an estimate when he is done.
tr7?
modrats???
tr7 - what women do with desire when they see you, ruru.
ata! that's just welsh, not backwards!
PB CROSSY!!!
just for TK :)
That sounds great, TO, especially when you can see the work in progress.
AAAACCCCKKKK!!!!!! LOL
*smug look*
clue for the upper e plz
My head is beginning to hurt!
ill go..the bacon vodka is in there....pounce!
ei6 - a word given when alternatives are suggested
well now yo've done it, i typed nible and was disappointed. nimble, as opposed to nimbly
*drags crossy back from the brink*
<passes the tylenol to uni>
I thought you'd appreciate that clue. ruru.
lol the goose is indeed in here lol
and that's not all
ty haz
There's more?
No problem, MM>
She won the lottery?
her father is a retired contractor who does handyman work - like replacing the front window, she has the same awful one as me and is having him do it.
referrals are the best way to get tradesmen
Handymen = gold dust.
Oh now that is a useful contact TO.
Mm, lottery winnings. I could hire a full-time perogie dough maker!
Score, TO!
yes! she brought me into her home to see all he had done. like hardwood flor which i am also considering
I thought wearing scanty underwear is the way to get tradesmen
yayvi!
still desirous of perogies for breakfast uni? is the dough maker repaired?
Im going to head off for a while things to do as usual. Happy chat and Happy Babbling.
The question is what you'll get them *for*, ruru.
Toodle-oo, FM.
<only in pornos ruru, lol
fm , catch you later?
Farewell, FM!
bye fm
lolololol
bye fm
bye dear!
I'll have to be leaving soon, too - as soon as the cat vacates my lap.
*pouts since ata did not even say hello*
of course you couldn't possibly push that cat off, could you.
hi TO!!
I should be going too ...
Spangle will need a walk soon. The tablets are working, I'm convinced of it.
crossy eyes his bran/fibre cerial balefully.i swear much more fibre and im gonna be farting dust lol
push the cat off??? isn't that animal cruelty?
Of course not, guernseygirl. I'm much too tenderhearted.
Hi ATA! You even get capital letters!
awwww tyty!!
Einst5/10's granddaughter deserves no less.
Oh, Haz, Nightshade just got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. If only we could just put her together with Spangle and mix them up a bit...
crossy thought of a beer st***
crossy, i'm gonna cook you something nice, drive up and smuggle it in to you
tablets? what's wrong with Spanglettina?
Vi, do you think babble has something to do with it? Can we blame Dr-G for their lethargy?
haz, the shop took nearly all of my items, know selling them is a different matter
lol ty kate, but you better save it for when i hit the wall mid month
Ata, she's been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. No thanks to husband who declared that she was just getting old.....
awww poor Spangle!
Well, when in doubt, shouldn't we blame FM?
blame crossy today,give fm a break;0
porr spangle
just let me know what you'd like crossy (^_^)
We probably should. Vi, I misread, your Nightshade has the opposite problem. Is she hyper?
Nightshade's is hypER, and she wasn't so much lethargic as just losing a lot of weight.
No, not really hyperactive. But she got weird urges to eat stuff she never liked before.
did judi say she would stop back in today?
I knew Spangle wasn't right because she was so unwilling to walk very far and just lacking her usual bounce. Blood tests confirmed it.
Judi said she was going for lunch, not sure if she'll be back.
ty
how many words in this grid
we're getting word here of a possible coalition between labour and conservatives?
But Spangle's getting back to rights again?
181, nanachichi
thank you
poor Spangle. You can always tell, can't you
She's improving. We'll need to get more blood tests done to confirm that the dosage is right.
crossy makes hex sign and the evil eye at politics
hope Mr Haz feels guilty!
Labour and Conservatives will never be in coalition. It'll either be conservatives and Liberals, or Liberals and Labour.
ah, synthroid is supposed to be the most presribed drug in us
im still fuming at the HST they are ramming down our throats
Mr Haz feels suitably guilty, yes, but points out that he usually sees much worse cases before anything is suspected.
very true. he's almost absolved
did he give the final diagnosis?
Almost.
last night there was word of labour/liberals... but we are getting this strange report of labour/conservatives... must be erroneous
No - I dragged her into the surgery for some of the others to look at her.
ok, pub time! love to you all and a big hug to La Glitterata
easy crossy... blood pressure... breath deeply... go to your happy place (where bacon roams free)
ata hoist one for me
Bye Ata! Nice to see you!
ttfn ata... how's the leg btw?
Okay, I'm off as well. I've stayed around to bl7/40 for too long. Bye!
(painful!)
hi all
kate, where did your recipe come from? i made a red wine cake that was spiced and had walnuts in it, was quite yummy.
bye haz!
poor ata... hope they get you fixed up soon... rotten when you can't cavort as you otherwise would.
Bye! *gone*
bye haz!
*pondering that bl7 clue*
hmm, means same as bla word
to... out of a magazine sponsored by (provincially run) liquor store
have you made it?
they are full of really scrumptuous recipes
Cat's off. Bye, all!
yes. i have... nuts would be a good addition..pecans or walnuts ideal
bye vicuna!
this one wasitalilan wine cake and was spiced also
bye vi!
crossy dreams of a spiced rum cake...
i suppose if you had a spice cake recipe, you could replace the liquid with a full bodied red with not too much tannin and it would be nice...
i don't like rum.
anyway, that's a christmas treat and by then you will be able to have it!
how do you know how much tannin? if that is what makes you pucker, i hate it
crossy dreams of food all the time... not feeling sorry for him...
good morning, everyone :)
sounds like a yummy choc. cake receipe...
Hi nan
yes... less pucker power, especially at end of sip. the labels will often tell you soft tannin.. low tannin...ask at liquor store for help... doesn't need to be too dry. a little sweetness would not go amiss
something like a lambrusco maybe? not so familiar with u.s. wines...
you could try looking for a non-oaked wine.
clue for in 8 pls

the maximum amount of the credit is $200 and it is reduced by this and that
Good AFternoon Everyone
what timing! hello
gee I havent qualfied for any stimulus credit yet - and its not because I make too much money
welcome back Mom
well then i am middle class! bring it on!
Hello Ruby - got yours - beautiful
it would be part of your tax return mom
wait, i don't see how turbo tax would miss that, the online version is updated as they come
and there are several reasons why you may not have qualified
but not the figs!
I will be asking for a refund from them if so
got money back already but didnt pay attention to what accountant did. I think we qualified for anything special anyway
eh. just a thought TO it may have been something else
well ge that will buy me two shrubs!
if you are an American living abroad and paying American taxes, do you qualify for a stimulus?
they will be sending me a letter to say why
I know why (dont hit me) but I cashed in a 401K two years ago to buy some property. Got hit with that added to my income and owed the government lots of money besides not qualifying for any credits or even deductions - sucked for us poor folk - its the only way we could have bought the property
i donno ruby but i would guess not since the idea is to put money back into the US economy not France's
would someone pls give me clues of the 8's and the 9?
this is such a tough grid -- especially without lickety
doesn't l.l.bean qualify?
which ones ruby
je are you going early tomorrow?
in 8: prisoner in 9: extra fabric between the material and the lining
there are 2 8's and one 9 and I don't know the first letters. Haven't been on much today as we have a houseguest
i haven't gotten that far in my thought TO why do you ask?
me 8: me + scale note + opp. day
in9
how are we this afternoon? (i had cake. :D )
WHAT NO LIST? ARE YOU KIDDING?!
just clued them all for you ruby
Nan - jaculas has her list on anonymous
got to watch that blood pressure TO
thank you nan, I'll put my thinking cap on....
*passes TO a valium*
I'm using grem's list, momneeds -- was just giving clues for ruby
I've never used a list; I just do what I can, happy if it's half, and that's that
she is fast - just thinking on what to clue for the first one and she is all done
least I can do since you gave me such good advice about my eyeshadow
i've been here three separate times and no one said a word.
hi to -- said a word about?
your choice TO - grems or jaculas
i usually wait till later to list
35 to go here and taking a break
ok , now i feel better. must go get mail still need 57 but not yet ready
is today haz's birthday?
no, was last saturday
I listed at 30 I think - now down to 13
ah
bye
bye cyber
bye whoever is leaving
not getting the me 8
did you check out my dancing owls?
me + I tell the truth so am not a **ar + opp of day (diff sp)
me either!
ty mom
are the dancing owls a clue?
yw
I so don't get those IN8/9 clues...i think I need a coffee
the both start with the same 5 letter in5/10
in6, 7 and 8 in * te** (bird)
in8 in5/10+ I ***d a drink
in9 = in5/10 + do you walkin a straight ****
5 words with the same first 5 letters! I love that
check out TO's profile ruby
I must need coffee too or sleeep
I like this grid, but not even close to half!
Thanks!
what a lovely profile!!
did you get the link for the dancing owls
Hi everybody
I didn't do the link but will try later
hello soodle
I need to get another 14 wqords!
Hey Rubes :)
Seeing if my icon changed...
inee
I thought that was a babblet!!! and a poison
it did on your profile - what a cutie - will take multiple refreshes to change on the chog
Cool. She's growing fast!
I liked the owl jumping up and down on the roof - could just hear him hooting yippee
yes they do - mine is now 17 and I remember her like yours only yesterday
I have come to the conclusion the I hate NE's the most
I have 4, how many are there?
5 - I just got the last
these were as bad as some day - I just dont like them
I have 2 4's, a 6 and a 7
there is one 5
Mom do you have plans for Mother's Day
no plans at all - was thinking about taking my Mom out for breakfast - just the 2 of us - otherwise I would like nice quiet day at home, maybe sitting outside with a nice glass of wine - or if raining babbling with a nice glass of wine
well have a great Mom's day
whatever I do it will be with a nice glass of wine
yes I agree with that
I'll put a bottle of white in the fridge, just in case mom comes.....
the red is sitting out waiting
i better leave now
bye, mom
not babble silly - to your house
just make sure I know the correct day! That fiasco was probably my fault
I've got a leg of lamb (halal) marinating and all the fixings
it is huge, so all you babbler come on over!
Ruby - I meant to ask you - How are things on the domestic front?
when you are retired, you should not worry about that stuff - when they come, they come and where there is food, they will come
I worked out a detente after that last war, and it seems to be holding, at least for now
Good! Marriage is a constant battle, with occasional outbreaks of peace (or at least it was in my case...LOL)
there are a lot of French words in he**, but only one of them worked so far, me*** (black bird)
ok, catch you all later
I'm too old to fight any more!
Bye bye TO
the only peace I am getting right now is because he is talking to me
I'll take it any way I can!!!
exactly!
My kids took the death of our dog much harder than the vamoosing of their dad. Says it all, really, doesn't it?
yes, soodle, it really does
there are a lot of birds in this grid
sure does - sorry to hear of your dog's death. It is such a heartbreak - I remember and will be going through it again in the next year or so with my old girl.
every time I cuddle Ruby, I worry about her getting older
it drives me crazy as I know that chows don't live long
losing a dog is horrible
ONe think I wont do this time is bring her home. WE brought our last one home to bury. I still cry every time I walk past her grave.
and that was 10 years ago
when our Rufus was put down, I had the vet come to the house and I held him on my lap and had him buried in the garden next to Cleo
my husband wants to be buried next to the dogs, but I think it's against the law!
I thought it would be comforting to talk to her as I am looking at my flowers.
we can come and take of that for your ruby - lol
when Ruby is upset or afraid of the wind or thunder, she hunkers down on the graves, really spooky
on to a more cheerful note - what is everyone doing for Mothers Day
I was just thinking the same thing, mom! needed a laugh!
my son might be coming next week, but still hasn't firmed up his plans. They're coming standby and will be here the 12th or 13th or whatever. His wife is a vegetarian and he is gluten-free! Happy Mothers' Day to me hahahah
Oh, you will have a great time. Just have lots of salad stuff on hand. There is breakfast salad, lunch salad and supper salad. Covers both issues
at least he eats eggs (she doesn't) but I can't even make couscous for my boy, and it's his favorite dish!
there must be a gluten free section in your grocery store that may have something similar to a couscous
I wonder if he eats quinoa?
are you kidding, separate a Frenchman from his bread????
I dont know what that is - but if he is gluten free for a medical reason - he mostly likely does not eat bread anymore
I just reached half at last, YAY, and will be off for the night. See you tomorrow while the lamb is spinning on the spit!
have a good evening ruby and a good weekend. Happy Mothers Day.
clue for pa 5/14
no bread or wheat flour of any kind, so no pasta, no couscous. I think quinoa is like barley

So sorry. I had to answer the phone.
hi Soodle
Hiya Boo.
Hi Soodle - Ruby had to leave us
Thanks Mom.
Oooh. I hate No-Lickety-Grids!!
Me too - its much more work to use jacula or grems list but it is needed so I do thank them
Ditto. Lickety is just a bit too handy. I will make much more of an effort without it. But, like you, I am very grateful for other Babblers' lists
11 left and 10 of them are t's :(
I feel it Nan - got 5 myself and all th's

aaarrrggghhhhh!!!!! oh wait it's Charlie Brown's
Both jmc and jmb need to go to the PB
*goes sulking to the pb*
maybe the cabana boys have a suit that'll work!
oops li** off i go.....
dumb suit isn't helping with anything
There is a nice selection of wines in there jmc.
*grabs a bottle, bites off cork and guzzles*
That should help with something.
* giggle *
* holds out empty glass hoping there's more where wine where that came from *
Anyone have a clue list posted in there icon?
I finally got halfway with 90 left. So tired ... "grabs other bottle, removes cap, and chugs chocolate milk*

gremlinn
I don't, judi
jaci does I think
OMGosh jmc. sounds like real fun lol
*hic*
phantom: parrot
I had no idea there were communist Japanese. I'm so out of the global loop.
they are talking about Article 9 in their constitution that prohibits them having a military that the US (which forced it on them at the end of WWII) now wants them to abandon
clue for the second th 5/12
i was surprised too judi but apparently they are in pretty good shape and do not follow china russia or cuba but on their own

Most honorable commies.

*rummages around the pb and finds another bottle of wine, slips it under cape and leaves*
yes but you need your own obi
I'm at 50 here. Totally hopeless for finding more without a list.
* gasp * no list today?
I'm at 70/111...and am positive there are NOT another 111 words in this grid!!
I'm missing two I's. Driving me nuts.
I think Merk was pulling our leg!
i have 84 left ... but i can't find where dr. god left them
missing 2 out of 12? or missing 2 for nbt?
clue for the third th 6/24
Ooh. Now I'm only missing one i.
* wonders if Judi's going to share here i's *
I don't have any th6's, boo...sorry
*lurking... waiting for eyes to appear*
There's an in9. Also: In6, 7 & 8 - all related.
* lurks with dobie *
In5 & 6: non-moving mass(es).
clues pretty please with a cherry on top
non-moving mass(es) = slugs...that's not in the grid
In6/18: Doctor in training.
Slugs move. Just not when you watch them.
have the doc on...
have the 9, have the cove, have 1/2 of the 9...that's it
i9???

bbl need a break with 75 left good luck
later, dobie
hello all!
YAY boo, bonjour Une!
down to 78 earlier, this is a pretty impressive puzzle!
oh... maybe I am alone?
never alone, stid
hey lawyer!
que pasa?
hace un buen dia hoy... AND it's WARM! I have the doors and windows open. AND I spent time in the garden. Never happier than when my hands have soil under the nails
how about you?
got a potential medical problem that has me in a funk
oh no. (((lawyer))) that's too bad. Anything I can "do" to help?
help me get my mind off my problem
okay, what's black and white and red all over?
a sunburned penguin
a shot nun
oh! that's a good one! I was thinking newspaper being red...
ewww. don't like the nun one.
let's see. what's black and tan and wines?
oh no, that's not a joke, that's my german shepherd...
newspapers are read, not red...it's an oral joke
I know, lawyer, but since I can't "say" it I had to pick one or the other. *sigh*
so, what r ur weekend plans?
okay, so that doesn't work.
Homework, of course, trying to work ahead on some of the required assignments, since I have to miss one week of classes to teach. And gardening. A LOT of gardening. Tom and the boys must get the fence up around the veggie garden so I can plant!
how about you? hanging out with some grands?
I miss not having a veggie garden
no, we are heading up to PA for a warehouse shoe sale
I did, too -- couldn't work outside at all last year (couldn't walk or get up and down) and so nothing got done. Tom will garden, but I am the one who loves to plan and plant.
hm. shoe sale sounds like a good alternative! LOL
Evening all. how is everyone going along?
they have it twice a year, so we get shoes twice a year
"lenient" is one of my phantom words today. Must have tried it seven times already!
hey red!
It's Hanover shoe, so they have Clark's, Bostonian, etc.
oh, those are NICE shoes!
my paternal unit swears by Clark's
especially at $19.95 a pair
*gasp* almost would make the airfare worth it! LOL
I should have my Parents drive on over. is it in Hanover?
My wife refers to me as the male Immelda marcos
It is on the square in Hanover
Ahh, I will send my parents a message, they do not live that close, but not that far either, and both are a bit picky about shoes.
and tell them to look for the well-shod gentleman with a wallet full of grandkid pics...
how are you red? was this your first day?
they have met jmcnnrick, so I suppose they could also meet lawyer1
would they waant to meet a lawyer?
I am well stid, my first day is on the 24th, today I was not too bright and took the dog running in 89 degree heat.
Hi all I luvvvvvvvv Clarks!
They met jmc, she is a lawyer, she came to my Dad's poetry reading in DC, shocked us all.
hi seaspray how are you doing?
hm. red, that was NOT bright at all! *sits red down with a cool lemonade*
hey sea!
Am doing well and you red, stid?
ooooh. I have a solid gray column! second from the right! (yay me)
I've had a shower, and the dog is resting.
I am starting to feel more like myself.
Go stiddy, I do not have anything solid gray yet.
go red go! (only not in the heat)
"tephra" doesn't work today ei6!
eenie doesn't work
yes, well...it should open up and thunderstorm any minute now, I hope.
well, down to 55 and have to keep working on this obnoxious "survey of the literature" -- it's crap, but it's also half written and not due for a few weeks so if I get it "done" now then all I have to do later is tweak the little things.
Oh and an update, my "avocado plant" turend out to be elephant ears that were dormant, oops.
rofl, that's funny red! but nice. I like elephant ears!
our avocado, that sprouted in the compost, is still alive on the back porch and doing just fine without all the pampering.
anyway... (((lawyer))) have a lovely weekend, and I hope to see you-all again soon! *poof*
toodles
allo allo!
bye stid
hi pav.
I think i need to change icon.
+65 to go...just waiting for my car to be done...
te
te
te
I think I'll go look for food....
hi inge
Hey guys..
good evening people
HI, Trezz, Jazz and red
i love guernsey :D
how is every body doing on todays grid?
mept
so do i, Trezz - born there
i hate this grid
i have been on holiday twice
i love it
yeaah im finding it difficult
where did you stay?
um near vermon bay i think
i've been stuck on 58 for the last few hours
a few years ago now
fermain bay?
possibly yes
haha
very pretty part of the island
i was brought up in St Peter Port
yes we stayed in the hotel le'chatel?
oh, i know that hotel. it's nice
st peter port is lovely
i have also been to jersey, herm sark and
alderney
we had a house overlooking the harbour with much the same view as on my iconf
i love Sark and Herm. not so keen on Jersey.
wow that must have been amazing
yes i saw the barclay brothers castle which is on
herm is it?
it was great, although living on the side of a hill was a bit exhausting
what a monstrosity that is.
brecqhou, just off Sark
ahhh, st peter port was near the second hotel we stayed in
within walking distance
you need to go to Alderney to get the full set of Channel Islands, Trezz
yes i have been to alderney
and Lihou?
is sark the one with like no cars and about 60 people?
no not there haha!
neither Herm nor Sark have cars, but Herm is smaller and i think has less than 50 people
Sark has about 400. very high cliffs and a very narrow pass between the two parts of the island. scary to walk across
i remember taking the ferry to one of them and walking around the whole island pretty much
i like guernsey a lot more than jersey though
that'd be Herm. Also very pretty
i think Jersey is a bit more commercialised than Guernsey - good zoo though
what part of the world do you come from?
haha yes the darwin zoo is that? i liked it there
can't remember what it was called, but i had a snake put round my neck there!
ah yes that, its one ofthe only things i remember haha
i am so stuck on this grid, i think i'll have to give up and go to bed. nice talking to you Trezz. goodnight all.
anyone have a clue for the st7?
you too good night!
quick turn-back. like a word for a minor film star but with a different vowel at the beginning
ty guernseygirl!
it's a baby sturgeon
yw. i'm really going to bed now.
who woulda thunk? lol
how's everyone doing with today's grid? i've got 106 words and have hit a wall...
lol one month im eating a triple decker bacon sammie with five kinds of cheese and 3 kinds of mayo on wonder bread filled with so many chemicals that even mold will not grow on it,to diet organic sliced turkey with lettuce a dash of pepper on anchient grain whole wheat bread lol
i still got 153, man im bad at this...
106 and a wall too
need to quit going to a concert
you're only new, trezz - it does take a little while to hit your stride with babble (as i keep reminding both my parents, who are new to the game and way worse than me)
i have 117, but nothing coming now.
it's rubbish without lickety's list to spur everyone on - i think i perform better knowing it's there as a safety net, even when i don't use it
i hope to hit my stride around 2015;)
ahh man i have so many left!!
rats, I was thinking about going to Lickety a little earlier than normal...
guess there is no likety?
he hast forsaken us
no lickety, hello all
I bought a car today
Peri, congratulations? what did you get.
2010 Honda Civic LX
good choice peri
excellent choice!
the color is really nice: Atomic Blue Metallic. I got a good deal on it.
I'm glad you got a good deal!
free inspection for the life of the car and free frist ioil change
I hated giving up my old car :( wilal donate her to Salvation Army
first oil change is what I meant

t/y une....how are you and yours?
we're fine, thanks, jmitch! :-)
glad to hear. i've had experience with flood waters and know what heartache it brings.
it's been really horrible for so many people -- today they raised the damage estimate for the county to 1.5 billion dollars . . .
ty Uneaix, I am using your list.
howdy, red!
and those estimates are only insured losses.....
oh, i know . . . it's the tip of the iceberg . . .
lo all I am lurking away trying to finsish.
commercial and residential. they haven't even started to figure roads, utilities.
metro schools have been out all week . . .many roads are still closed . . .
hang tough! we survived, your neighbors shall too!
the poor business people downtown -- this winter we had exceptional cold and old old pipes burst -- they lost tons of business . . . and now the river's flooded them out . . .

no sour cream?
i have to lose weight before the apnea kills me lol
27 now.
NO. no cut off. *stubborn mama look* Have you ever read about Graham Kerr's MiniMax recipes???
good going crossy.
did the doctor rx a CPAP machine?
there are really really good ones that aren't high in fat or salt. AND would satisfy your need for lovely food.
no bread,grease,butter,sour cream,no fried eggs,no cheese,no reasy prepared snax
he did indeed esprit,i get fitted for one on the 11th
oh boy
did u have the sleep study?
cannot wait to get it,im tired of swallowing my tongue in the night as well as stopping breathing all the time is a bummer
yes indeed esprit
CROSS!!!! Really really really need to look up Graham Kerr... the recipes are not hard for a good cook (I know you are) AND he developed them with nutritionists in response to his wife's medical needs.
i stopped breathing 22 times during the study
will do stidmama
well, the C-PAP will keep you from asphyxiating :-)
*gasp* oh cross! that is VERY not good. I am glad you did the study, and that you are taking it all seriously. (((Hugs)))
I'll look him up - thanks Stid
I'll look him up - thanks Stid
ill bookmark him as well stidmama
There are some KILLER choclit waffles... *drool*
have to lose 50 pounds as part of my part in this
you can do it, cross. thing is, you'll feel so much better!
crossy, I'm doing the sleep study thing next week
so i am sorry in advance for all the whining to come, but i do get one free day a month to eat what i like
good stuff gramma, get it done and get to sleep again
and if I understand it aright, once you are sleeping better, some of the weight may come off anyway because you will feel better so be more active in the daytime.
They haven't said anything yet; but, I would imagine they will require that I lose weight also.
i think you are right stidmama
but ill warn you right now gramma, the machines are not cheap
the bottom machine is 1100.00 cad!!
you have a machine for your bottom??? *wicked mama look*
you are worth it Crossy
my health plan is going to pick up 80% thankfully
awww ty lynxx;))
you are VERY worth it! and yes, definitely gramma do what you can.
my mrs will be happy as she will no lonbger have to stand vigil all night to poke me in the ribs to get me breathing again
hi folks, catching up with the chat, crossy, glad to hear you are on a campaign to fix the apnea problem, I'm wishing you the best - here is some hope for you - hubby had bad apnea too, did the sleep study, etc. CPAP, all that, then lost weight (unfortunately not voluntarily) but guess what - no more apnea!!
hey JBV! (((hugs)))
hi stid! how's things?
That will help her health also, cross. Good.
thats what im looking forward to as well jbv
hello stiddy
hi JBV. So he doesn't use the machine anymore?
so losing weight solved it - he no longer snores at all and the CPAP machine is buried int he closet somewhere
It's manageable this week JBV! LOL and have had a lovely day at home, just hanging out working quietly on the things that must be done.
hey peri!
That is great JBV
mmm..wonder if i can manage 2 pounds of bacon on my food freedom day?? heheh
is your semester almost over?
How much? I know of people who have been prescribed these snuffle-up-a-gus machines and they don't use them. Can I get a used one?
how about you? are you well? you're not in the flooded area are you?
moderation, crossy, everything in moderation
I have four more weeks starting Monday. And looking forward to June 5 like anything! LOL
flooded? no, not in New Jersey, thank goodness -
1100 dollars for the cheapest one gramma:((
i'm fine, stid, did you hear my news - I'm retiring as of July!
Oh dear, then I guess I'll just have to die in my sleep.
i was shocked to say the least
retiring??? *faint* GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Mother is really enjoying her retirement.
evening, all
No list? *dies*
id sell all the furniture to breath again gramma;))
Congratulations JBV!!
well about time you showed up, you young rascal! *hugs and choclits*
hi NB
hi Nancy Boy
hye NB
no list, have to do it bareback;))
howdy nb
and thanks, lynxxx
there is a list in babanon and gremlinn has a list in his profile
Oh dear. That ain't pretty for me. 104 left and I'm stumped.
List on Gremlinn profile
LOL wickd... stats are up at BabAnon... http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabblersanony mous
Thanks all...I'll check out the lists! :)
i once was there at the turn and watched gremlinn kill a grid off in 33 min!
about time eh? I've been out all day - very long day today
gremlinn is fast all right, but sometimes (okay, ONCE) I am faster!
Is Gremlinn human? Dang.
you're not working too hard are you? *worried mama look*
think that one was 150-190
I am not, of course, setting any records with this one.
LOL no. no danger of that ;) no, just, today I did the thing that I was talking about yesterday. I think you were there for that?
yes, Nancy Boy - how did it go?
I missed the conversation yesterday. Do you want to summarize, or shall I check the archives
Oh, I did not hear about the outcome, NB, did it go as you expected. did he know you were there?
not well, Jbv :/ worse than imagined really. disturbing.
so sorry to hear that, NB :(
****smothers NB in hugs and stands watch protectively***
(((((((((NB))))))))
oh I'm so sorry to hear that NB - I was hoping it would be a happy reunion
I can't imagine anyone doing mean things to their own children like that.
im gathering a family get together that did not go well?
thanks, all :) so, kind of a long, sad day today. Glad to get home
It may get better in time NB, still only a few months - but I am very sad for you - and your whole family!
we babblers are here for you NB
Hi all - just passing through while waiting for pizza to cook - NB -((HUGS no matter what) what will I be sorry to hear - tell MOM
Crossy - my dad's been hospitalised for some heart trouble, and I went to go see him. stupidly :s
dont - Ill back up through chat
thanks, everyone. need a little parenting today!
oh that's tough - but your Mum will talk to you?
so they did not take the visit for what it was worth,a concerned child visiting hid da,but used the time to hash up old crap? i hope not.time is too short for that crap and they will be very sad at the missed times together
not anymore, Lynx - I've been cut out. The extended family in Korea have been told I'm dead. Sick.
i will love my son no matter his choices,i do not order but guide him to where he can make his own choices without regret
((NancyBoy))
Lots of love for you here, NB
crossy give nb a big bear hug ((nb))
OH NB - the old customs just suck - they will realize someday what they have missed - a wonderful child
((((hugs back)))) thanks, all. sorry to monopolise chat - just felt I had to spill it :/
Well Nancy Boy, you are only a little older than my own kids, so you are still welcome here. AND it may be that at some point you will want to resurrect yourself in Korea. Not everyone, even in the old places, is bigoted.
np, NB anytime
It's okay kiddo! You talk all you need and want. That's why we are he4. Well, that and the grid... *sheepish mama look*
you spill whenever you want, we will be there for you ((hugs))
what really bugs me is i am sitting in a coutry where no one bats an eye about this, you can marry, get full govt paperwork and govt benifits.hell if you lived here and you adoped a newborn ,one of yyou would be entitled to materity leave..all so pointless the old biases
country
yes I know, off to the pb - I can still support NB from there
remeber nb,you are the age of a lot of our children,so we will coddle a bit lol
NB, join me in the PB with cocktails - Mom wants to talk and hug of course
the strange this is, it's not really a religion thing - my family are buddhist, which has very little against being gay. It's the culture itself, I guess
it's okay, I can deal with some coddling ;)
I know cross! I am considering (after I am done with school...) getting a divorce here in the U.S. and then going up to Canada for getting married. And then coming back and insisting they also accept the marriages of the family members who have gone to Canada to get married because they can't in the states.
It's a sometimes difficult path you have chosen NancyBoy but there is a lot of happiness there. I hope that someday your family will come to accept it and you can have a relationship again
no, thank you all - just needed to see some friendly adults, perhaps!
mmm interesting indeed stidmama
there are some people that cannot recognize that or appreciate peoples choices - we cant change them
I don't think it's the culture so much as the stick-in-the-mud, afraid-of-difference, stupidheads
I need help with ne5/10 pls, hate to break into this chat
never be afraid of change, just choose what you want and leave the rest;)
But also Nancy Boy, don't live your life according to ANYONE else's "shoulds." Be true to yourself, be ready to make mistakes (you will) and be ready to be happy (it happens)
ne5 ne & it takes all so***
some people just cant change from what they were brought up in - I told my parents I was getting a divorce 26 years ago. My Mom blew her top blaming me, how could I. But the times and their beliefs wouldnt allow it. It took a long time for us to reconcile but we did. The old countries are that much harder
count me in as a canadian auntie, nb ... between crossy and me, you can't go wrong ... and with ALL the other "relatives" you have here, surrogate mothers, sisters, grannies, i think you'd feel welcome where ever you land
ty lyn but don't get your clue
you need to be true to you NB no matter what
Peri - NB has all so*** of friends here
and dont forget, Leo is there for you - thats what counts
uhm crossy? never be afraid of change? tall order. change IS frightening. but just because it sometimes scares the bejeezus out of you doesn't mean you shouldn't embrace the change ... know what i mean?
oh! it's a babblet peri, ne + any po** in a storm + plural letter
well thank you, all :) Mom - that is so sad; glad to hear you have reconciled, though!
sheesh, ty lyn and stid
peri ... and this broadcast is sent over the airwaves at 880 MegaH***z (that should get you there)
crossy, sorry I abruptley dropped the conversation; my boyfriend came home.
ty, welki, found it
your day will come too NB - I am 52, you are only 19 - dont give up hope
good clue welki
go gramma
thanks, stiddie :)
well, down to 39 (again). should spend a little time today at least looking at one of the books I need to read for next week. Back later to finish.
see you, Stid :) thanks for everything!
so what is on for friday night lights???
Nancy Boy, it's NOT the same to have non-biological friends step in when parents are stupid, but... for what it's worth, we're here. ((more hugs)) *poof*
oh, this may be morning for NB oops
precisely 1am Mom ;)
past pizza time - my timer just went off - bbl
ugh sorry. I killed the chat!
nah, just trying to finagle this grid
love the icon pic, btw
no you did not - sometimes we dont have a choice but to have non-biological friends be there for us - thats life - and my non-biological friends are the best
ne7? please.
thank you! My friend Shaz works as a photographer and that was taken in her studio. I hasten to add that the bright pink mobile phone isn't mine..
Hey it day 16 gang - and its the non-biological that have been there as support
no matter whose phone it is .. the photo is F*U*N!
I really love the other NB - this is great but the profile shot is the BEST
Gramma....it goes along with nor....
I am not enjoying the grid much at this point, seems I have been saying that a lot.
oh, good for you, Mom! how do you feel?
profile?
Like crap - if I saw someone now, I would rip that butt out of their hand for me
same here, red .. hopelessly stuck at 21
OK that felt good
22, and I am not exactly loving it. I have a bad Headache, but its all my fault, sooo.
you can do it momneeds!!
to be honest, its been a tough week but I am surviving - with Rubys hellp
ty
she has been my email buddy getting me through
good job Mom!
my family has forgotten or doesnt care
48 left here and tired of this grid and yes I know I typed a word in the grid and I am not going to the PB, so there
You can so totally do it, you are already 2 weeks in.
but I am doing this for me
Well hi new car owner Peri?
lol Peri!

exhasuting, car, bought a new car, had the old one for over 18 years and I am very sentimental
herass, LOL, welki
Caught up on chog. Peri!!!! Pizza ready - got to go - bbl
congrats on new car peri
ty Momneeds
curious, if anyone has any tips for making toenail car of dogs less stressful for them and me. teulu is not enjoying.
toenail car? guess you meant toenail care :-)
ask someone over to take his attention away from it, red .. we have the same problem with our dogs. the basset hounds would lay down and let us dremel tool their nails. now, the border collie and golden have us thinking we're torturing them. no filing allowed, freaks them out. and last time, my other half nipped a vein .. messy
Welki, its usually me, the last time I had him sedated and had them do a big cut at the vet, but it seems to have traumatized him more, they really cut them shorter than I thought necessary...now he gets snarly, which is totally unlike him, or he cries and shakes all over.
take tiny bits off, if you must do it yourself ... a tiny bit, a tiny cookie ... a tiny bit, a tiny cookie (or big "good boy," if that works). might take longer, but you'll get it done eventually
I probably should use like cut up hot dogs.
ohhh, i hate when they cut the nails too short. not good for them, either
Its was extreme.
awww red, i wish you were closer
It is my fault, for not handling his feet all the time when he was young.
I spent about 30 minutes today trimming with a large human clipper, he did sort of ok until the end.
i think you need to make the treat specific to the job .. maybe it will perk him up if he realizes the only time he gets (for instance) hot dogs is when he lets you trim his nails
yes, thats a good idea welki. need to figure out what he likes a lot, maybe some salty ham.
we handled baxter's feet (murray is a rescue) ... i think some dogs are just more sensitive than others (or maybe it's a golden thing .. what's ruru say?)
I have two black labs and have never cut their nails. We live in the country so they go for many walks in the woods - the rough surface keeps their nail at the right length
well, we dont live in the woods. he needs to have nails trimmed here.
*packing up to move to mom's place* you in, red?
you know I can not live anywhere where it snows!!!!!!!! ;)
has jmc been around? i miss her
*welcoming welki and red and their dogs*
I thought I saw her this morning!
Mom needs area is NICE in the summer though....hmmmmm
ahhh, just looked at profile. new hampshire. sorry red, we'll just have to stay put
and this afternoon
I did a contract in NH from july through Early October, it was once 50 degrees in August, which was not to my liking but the dog loved all the hiking we did.
its so BEAUTIFUL here - flowers, trees, trails, fresh air (I dont smoke anymore)
38 left, sure wish my tv worked :(
In summer NH is very nice. But you have those things that hang off the fire hydrants to indicate that it snows.
hey red, what kind of shoes do you wear at work? i just picked up a pair of Alegria clogs .. you might like them. www.shoegirls.ca
Mine works peri, would you like me to give you a blow by blow on a programme?
welki, you are in canada - get worse weather than here
I usually wear my old running shoes. but let me look welki, I have been looking for new shoes.
thanks for the offer, but I will suffer a little bit longer, hope by borther in law can fix it tomorrow
borther in law
crap can't type worth a darn
we love you too peri
:)
bbs
I dont run - running take extra heartbeats and I cant afford to lose one
I can not seem to find the site welki, maybe I need to look up alegria.
hang on
www.theshoegirls.ca (i missed the "the")
the site says that they're rocker soles, but i don't see much difference (was hoping they'd stretch my achilles tendons and relieve my plantar fasc/heel spur pain) .. so far so good painwise, though
welki, they look nice, but they only come in medium width, which would make my little skinnies swim in them bummer.
here's the us site .. maybe there are different widths there
d'oh: http://www.alegriashoes.com/
<-- doesn't have a little skinny anything
just testing to see if some of my better halfs sketches will show well in my profile..)
I think they are just mediums, but...I may see if I cant try th** on in a store. My feet are the only thing thin on me lately.
those 5 inch heels - long gone honey
(plus they're just so cute)
welki, they are really cute, and they have SO many patterns!
5 inch heels? you must have gone to a different site!
Crossy - her sweet girl is there
could I get some clues for the IN words, that do not relate to the student first year physicians?
.
ahh good you see it?
it is in your profile - not on the chog - will show after many refreshes
what IN words do you need
il 4/4 smallest part of small intestine
those are cute shoes... too bad no arch support in them
in5/in6 not having energy & plural
I think I need the first in 5, 10 and 6 18 combo, maybe
welki, thats it!!!!!! Thanks
aslindy, there IS arch support, the insoles are amazing
my feet feel better in them than in my shoes with orthotics
there are 5 words that start the same IN 5.10 like being in the middle
really? the ones I see look pretty flat. I will look closer
I've got the In's handled now I think thank you!!!
from there in9/54 = in5/10 + please draw a straight ****
"Engineered to roll naturally, the rocker outsole induces a normal walking motion while naturally toning leg muscles. It also benefits users by promoting a perfect posture, reducing stress on muscles, joints and back, giving you energy all day long. An anatomically correct patented interlocking footbed system with arch support that is loaded with latex, memory foam and cork to create a "perfect fit" every time by forming to the natural contours of the foot, giving each user their own customized fit. Footbed is removable and available in medium and wide widths." (no narrows :(
Ok done with In's - shoes more important
any time i find a shoe that makes my feet hurt less, i broadcast it like it's headline news ... sorry, mom
no need to say sorry - I can appreciate this
the last se 5, 12??
i just figure that if my feet hurt, someone else's must, too (and can use the tip, if it helps)
lol .i have no se
there are no se's red
there is no se
narrows are a problem with shoes like that, I love birkestocks, but really can not wear them.
err st, 5 12 the last one...maybe thats why I cant find it.
we have an st - very bad throat illness
oops thanks Mom needs.
yvw
phone .. gotta go.
13 left, I suppose I need to complete it. grrr.
the th's today were the worst for me
go red go
thanks for the shoe link, I'll have to check them out
begging now for the in 9 darn it.
I appreciate the shoe link too but cannot wear heels anymore due to bad back. If you find a link with nothing over 2 inches , please let me know
let me see if I can find it
mom that is not the right site, these shoes had no heels were flat like birkenstocks.
I copy and pasted
lol, when the ladies get going on shoes, i better make space lol dinner time biab
there are some really COOL shoes th5, but his old lady cant do it
HEllo
enjoy crossy
red, in9 - in*** meaning between and Johnny Cash song. I Walk the L***
http://www.alegriashoeshop.com is the right link
IN9 = IN 5/10 + try and draw a straight **** after having several cocktails
peri is too fast for me
Thanks Peri.

Bye 72 Temple Owl! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
jm, do you remember tom le**er?
nikolai ivanovitch lobachevsky is my name
great name bugsaw
(and i adore John Irving's writing, not only Hotel New Hampshire .. but will always remember "Sorrow floats.")
it is a Tom Le**er song
are those poems or short stories welki
that was danny kaye a la tom le**er!
one man deserves the credit, one man deserves the blame!
Iloved Danny Kaye's Triplets song the most
eio
secret: i wanted danny kaye to be my dad
me too Welki!!!
bugs!
we must be sisters
*sigh* thumbelina ... remember him singing that in hans christian andersen?
we share the same decret Dad
*choked up over the sisters*
if you go back far enough, we're all related, bugs :)
secret Dad sorry
decret dad is probably more like it *lol*
and the red shoes
"when one of us gets the measles, the other one gets the measles, then all of us get the measles.... I wish I was the only one"
*still choked up over the sisters*
i had a book of stories from around the world he compiled, children's stories. i think i wore the ink off the pages
He used to go visit kids in hospitals and I remember he made one boy smile and the nurses went nuts because he had not smiled or spoken since he arrived. He is certainly in heaven
*looks at bugs* she's choked up. what do we do? heimlich?
hi from another big fan of danny kaye - brought me out of lurk mode
*Mom to the rescue*
<-- has a shnoz, could be danny kaye's :)
One of my favorite movies of his is "The Five Little Pennies" (at least I think that is the title)
we could feed her a bug? She would cough and cheer up
"this little penny s s the last little penny and most important of all
yes .. danny kaye and louis armstrong!
Oh but go back to the holdiay movies - "White Christmas with Bing'
"is the last little penny." One of my all time favourites CadFan. So glad you reminded me
This little penny is to wish on And make your wishes come true This little penny is to dream on Dream of all you can do This little penny is a dancing penny See how it glitters and it glows Bright as a whistle Light as a thistle Quick, quick as a wink Up on it's twinkling toes This little penny is to laugh on To see that tears never fall This this little penny Is the last little penny And the most important of all For this penny is to love on And where love is, heaven is there So with just five pennies, if they're these five pennies You'll be a millionaire For this penny is to love on And where love is, heaven is there So with just five pennies, if they're these five pennies You'll be a millionaire
oooh, huge danny kaye fan here!
oooh, huge danny kaye fan here!
we are all showing our age here -oh so cool!
i tell one little secret and look what happens!! Yay!
hi jbv and CadFan and pippin. You have good taste and maybe some youngsters will look him up.
that is awesome CadFan. I never heard of that before
hey pippin - how was your weekend
It is a wonderful song Joey. So glad we brot you out of lurk mode too
I just wandered back again; I don't think anyone who has ever seen him isn't a fan of Danny Kayes!
hey nef - welcome back
thanks bugsaw.
I hope you are feeling well. You remain in my thots
thanks.
Thanks, Momn.
Ok babblers - I am appropriately liquidated for a friday evening at this time when fighting with myself not to smoke - I suppose it is time for bed
weekend was lovely, lasted forever, we kept being referred to as honeymooners...
Hey joey; how are you? You've been in my thoughts and prayers for months!
i'm out of here, too .. 9 left, but i'm calling it quits. g'night folks!
go straight to sleep Mom! you are doing too well to give in now!! YAY MOn
thanks Nef. i am doing ok. scheduled next surgery for June 2.
i'm convinced the only reason they haven't yet come out with a biopic about kaye (cause he's amazing and they should) is because no current actor could do him justice
uh oh pippin - this is a passing thing right? you are still moving on? very glad you had a great time though
not even tom hanks?
still moving to nyc, just enjoying what's going on with this guy
thats good pippin
or the actor who played horatio hornblower/mr fantastic? (he even looks a little like him)
don't be too quick pippin in case you regret it later
joey -dont know you but hope all goes well
thanks momneedshelp.
I am going to crash now - thanks for the company folks - love you all
*good thoughts headed joey's way*
and g'night (really) *poof*
thanks welki
ROFL welki. One of my best friends from when I was a kid says I looked just like the Horatio Hornblower guy when I was little and even made her husband buy the series/ When I met him years later I was creeped out because he kept staring at me!
all good thoughts and prayers gratefully accepted and appreciated
moms do best (((Joey)))
can anyone help me with the th6/24 and th7/36? I assume they are a combo. Thanks...
th 6 - add a vowel to the 5 before it,
th7 add a consonant at the end
Jee they are a combo. Think about clouds, fevers and
how you measure them
thanks guys...
thanks JBV.. I didn't have the th 5/14
Ah, had the th6/24. Must be a different th6 I am missing. Thanks again...
th 6 add 4 letter word for gathering crops
I am way too slow so going to bed - been a long day since 5 am est. night babble friends.
I am not getting gather crops. Still thinking.
do you have the th = *** END + ***e comes before ten
you **** what you sow
gathering crops: you **** what you sow.
I think I have that one mom.
Hello all!
ah, I do have that one gwen. thanks though
too many th6
Hi gwen
th 6/24 - last name of Olympic athlete JIm
Proud Grandma Announcement: Twins are born! Girl is 3 lb 14 oz, Boy is 4 lb 7 oz. Kinda early, but doing great!!
got that one jbv...it's got to be here somewhere!
th + **der in the court + **ace and love everyone
Wonderful gwenski! congratulations to you and the whole family - great news
thorpe
congrats gwen
woohoo gwen and mom and babies
whoops...yeah, have that one...
I think it must not be th
yep that s good clue jee
I think it must be te6/21
It was a very good clue, wasn't it? ;)
te 6 18 latin plural of earth
te 6/21 JBV?
gwen - assume they are in the nicu - must be doing good - big boy there watching out for sister
fireworks here!
congrats jbv
te 6/21 add a suffix to a period of time in office
They were just born yesterday ~ 3AM. They are already preparing to move down from Level 3 (highest care level) to Level 2.
wtg jbv!
Congratulations JBV on your fireworks! Good for you
excellent - they are health little ones
thanks jbv, that was it!
they're a pretty good size for early twins, gwenski -
Yes. She was just 32 weeks and a few days. But the twins were always measuring a little bigger during the course of the pregnancy.
are you done jeewhiz
32 weeks is good - they will be just fine
congrats gwenski. they will be fine
amazing baby bear rescue: http://tinyurl.com/23yayal
my congratulations to your family Gwen - time for bed - good night folks - hi and bye une
Yep, they are looking good right now. (At least in the pictures.) I'm sure they look even better in person.
hi and bye, mom!
Nite Mom!
If I dont see any of you this weekend - Happy Mothers Day
you too, mom!
I watched it Une. pretty determined mama!
pretty incredible! LOL
Une - hi! Glad to see you are ok. Did you have any damage? How's your mother? Ok I hope.
hootowl, I was asking about you -- and emailed Greywoulf but didn't get a response! I'm fine and so is Mother -- and you??
I'm very very lucky -- sooooo much destruction here . . .
Lots & lots of water but nothing else! The worst was listening to siren warnings that were for somewhere else!
I was at my daughter's graduation in Michigan but knew what was going on . . . drove back here Sunday
I worried. They never mentioned how much power was out - just flooding.
some power is still out . . .
Well that's one way to miss a mess:D
incredible to think that landmarks like Opryland Hotel will be closed for 6 months and the symphony hall until September
Now I can stop worrying.
:-D
I shudder to think of the mold!
oh, i know . . . ugh
Haven't kept up with the news; is Nasville getting gov help?
Nashville
yep . . . declared a federal disaster area -- lots of instructions being posted on a gazillion websites about how to apply for FEMA aid
Well that should help. But you know there will be people who manage to NOT find the info.
needless to say, no one has flood insurance
they've even got volunteers with laptops in all the shelters who're applying on behalf of those who need help (esp elderly -- many of those)
why should you? If it hasn't flooded since who-knows-when, it never occurs to anyone. And I'll bet the people with homeowners will be denied help for some reason.
no doubt
That's a good idea. Hooray for volunteers and laptops!
the number of volunteers out there doing everything imaginable is truly heroic
I think whoever got the idea should get a medal or something. It's a brilliant idea!
necessity as mother of invention, eh?
yep
re7/28 please?
it's a plural
I have an re7/28 that's a plural.
hey, gwen, thanks
Welcome
I was going to ask if you were doing the grid but my mind is wandering...
sorry gwen - hi - it's been a while since I've seen you
I don't get to play very often.
I only get stopped by thunderstorms and vacations.
I had a special reason to get on tonight -- the twin grandbabies were born last night! A bit early, but doing well.
well congrats grandma! Best wishes to the new mother too
Thanks! I'll have to replace the ultrasound picture when I get a nice new picture of them.
congrats, gwen!!
I wondered what your icon was...
Thanks. Now the next thing is to figure out when we're going to get to see them! (By car, we live ~20 hours away.)
Uneaixoise, what is your degree in?
Is there a train maybe?
it's my daughter -- her second master's -- this time in Library Science and Information Systems
Very Excellent!
NC to TX?? I suppose. But we have been boarding one of their dogs, so we'll need to make the trip to return her to them.
indeed! :-)
well in that case I's wait a while. Let them sattle into a twin routine first and then bring the dog to mix them all up again.:D
my typing has gone south! It's - settle
We think the twins will spend 3 weeks in the hospital.
Isn't that a long time for healthy, good weight baby's?
Well, they were born at 32 weeks and a few days. Sometimes they like to keep them thru the original due date.
DO they have names gwen?
Sounds like a great way for them to make more money. Healthier to take them home. They can get sick IN the hospital
Yep. Khloe Reese & Joah Scott.
interesting names
The middle names are nods to both sides of the family.
I like them
Joah or Jonah?
Une - do you still need help?
Joah. (Like Noah, but with a J)
I'd never hear of that name before. But I found it later in an on-line list. Definition was something like friend of God.
Never heard it before nut I like Noah. Joah sounds neat!
slogging along . . . thanks, hoot . . . 11 to go
yeah - different without being silly
I expected them to have less-common names, since their mom has a very common name (Amanda). She always had several girls in school classroom with the same name, and some even shared her middle name.
well ask if you need help
thanks
Well, I'm not done with the puzzle, but I'm done for the night. Bye!
That's interesting gwen. I knew a girl named Amanda when I was in high scholl but never since. We are talking 50 years
bye, gwen :-)
