oo 6 and 7 pav
Is "ho4r" profanity in Canada? It's not in the dictionary, but I understand it's frequently used there, as in "Aw, take off, ya ho4r!"
Hello west! You're looking for stem cells?
thanks pini...but I no comprende oo6 and oo7...James Bond deons'nt help either
I want some of those 007's
Not profanity, doug -- see the MacKenzie brothers on TV
hi and nbt
good job josh !! any news?
Does anybody remember the movie Gypsy?
I do
news as in what, west?
i do
as in defending your thesis
west do you know if natalie wood actually sang in that movie or not i know in west side story she did not
?
hi and wwtg josh
I don't know ML
hey all ((hugs for sandy))
ah yes - defense and celebratory party went great, even better than i expected, thx for asking west
I think she may have she wasn't very good
not sure, I know she wanted to sing in west side story but they wouldn't let her
I was wondering too, josh -- congrats!
Super Dooper Josh !!!
hi stid, great to see you
how's the grid? I don't think I even started the last one. Spent so much time outside working in the garden! *happy mama-gardener look*
all done joshua?
stats for the P (for nbt)
pretty easy today
hi stid
hi stid come on over any time
Hello all...
all except walking across the stage
not important was just curious I remember hearing her sing for real in a video for west side story she was a pretty good singer just had never heard about Gypsy
grid is not so bad so far
Hi stid
hello Jellen
can't find those middle o's -- I suppose they are the 6-7 combo
hey jellen
short combos x 2 Pini
have to help husband bbl
the middle o is oo6/7
no idea what those are here cyber
the 4th column o is a 4/4
good for you!!! (so it is possible....) *considers the implications*
hello stid
nan - that's what they tell me...006 and 7...I'm no sleauth, and I can't read
pav, I was free associating, as is my custom, the oo7 looked like 007, James Bond. It had nothing whatsover to do with what the oo7 word is
hey jill. ((hugs)) how are you? Mother and Dad really enjoyed Tadoussac!
Douglas...precisely...
Oh good, stid!
p?
I knew that
hey douglas!
mlf - I believe that yes, Natalie Wood sang in Gypsy. Marni Nixon sang in West Side Story (though dialogue was by Wood)
*retty *lease?
Although 007 did find himself in a cell from time to time. That is a hint, pav.
p is pu5
TO 6
hey PAV. and pini! P P P... the P is like the asian mattress F5
thx josh
rhymes with one of the f's
nbt ;)
* giggle *
Pini..the P is a combo of two short words
ty josh
is it okay to ask which direction the oo's take?
i only have one F word
...and on that note...'night all...cya tmw! :) * poof *
that's good ML you shouldn't swear lol
wtg pini and g'ngiht
(go west, west)
they take a u-turn to the left, west
wtg pini

wait, these two people are friends on facebook?
bother? why?
I had to go to morewords
need only the center O for NBT. then me to bed or else *stern mama look in mirror*
if so, why in the world were they hashing it all out in the chat log here
I don't normally chat on the board, but even I noticed the random trouble in babble-land.
every so often, drama spills over and people are unreasonable all over the web. Not just from babble-land. I try to ignore what I can...
no, there is a group on FB. JC is not there.
what happened?
hello lauren.
there is a babble group on fb?
JC has left Babble.
I think it is a lack of manners, to be honest, joshua. but people lose all sense of propriety sometimes.
again, jill?
throws tantrum...without waking poopies and calls it quits...see y'all on the weeeknd next! no NBT for moi!
Yes, josh, but there is a sub-group out for JC's hide. Please, let's drop this.
i was only asking to possibly join the group myself, but it sounds too charged for now
I have found it VERY upsetting.
nbt with shocking ease
well, not finding that O, so heading out. may or may not babble tomorrow, have SO MUCH to do and did schedule lunch with a friend, so it won't be all work.
Hi all can I please ask for prayers for my mom as I just got back from the hospital...we had to rush her in tonight ... it's her heart
me too, jill *puts douglas in PB*
Barb
Barb
Oh barb -- all the best to her!
oh Barb... (((((hugs for Barb))))) of course. she is on the top of my list tonight.
with you there Barb, all the best
salmon alert
((((Barb)))
so sorry to hear. hope everything is as well as can be. (((Barb)))
I'm in Barb, she'll be on my prayer list.
Hi everyone...
thanks for the salmon nan
hey marmar
I am in a state of shock we thought she had a touch of the flu but something didn't sit right with me and I called for the ambulence
ty nan
Hi Mar
of course barb -- will do
Hi, Marmar
thanks all...just can't believe it
hello marmar
oh barb lucky you were there
good for you barb.
Hi Jellen, Jilli, I'm lurking as usual getting in my 30 minutes of babble fun.
I recently read that a book of all the menus of the Nobel Banquets for the past 100 years has been published. I wonder if some of the hors d'oevres are in the PB
need to eat now....my mother's day dinner went astray
probably lots of pickled herring doug
Bless you too Barb!
bye for now and thanks for the prayers and thoughts
hugs Barb, do get a good sleep tonight
(((Barb)))
take care of yourself so you can be there for her
doubt I will...can't shut off my brain
If Sarah Palin knew there was one of these in the grid, she might shoot it!
ty again, doug
if she could spell it doug
hmm
thanks Douglas
*glass of warm milk for Barb* breathe, rest, breathe....
phant rotund
crashing here -- 50 for tomorrow :)
thanks
barb, try not to worry too much -- care is so good these days.
gj nan !!
okay can't resist just a few words
sweet dreams nan
bye nan
babble is calming most days
wd nan, and g'night
dartie are you still here?
yep
Barb, Babble is what I used years ago to get my brain to quiet down... still works.
(((dart)))
my cousin's daughter is getting married in July and they are going to Newfoundland for their honeymoon
ec7
Could I have the stats for the third column o, please? Sorry if this is a repeat request...
any help on that center O please?
cool...going there myself in one month :)
6 related ec words
they have no particular plan
I need that o too -- it's an oo6/7 combo, but I can't find it.
I think "O"'s are my weak spot, 63 left and I haven't found any! lol
oo + cellular suffix
oo6/27 and 7/40
their reception in Lansing MI will be at a nature preserve
okay nite all .. poof
not cellular as in phone, but as in cells. i think i used the wrong word
Thanks, josh!
have they been to NL before?
thanks joshua nad flosey and lauren!
and flosey!
Movin' to Montana soon, gonna be a dennil-floss ty6
yw Jellen
are you really moving Doug?
I'm still not finding it -- so tired -- not sleeping well these days.
sweet dreams Barb
Thank you Ormal, got 5 and still looking for 6.
oh dear, Jill -- are you worried about something?
I'm sorry jilli
hi mar didn't see you come in
I don't get the cellular bit. *sigh* it's just so late.
No west, just cluing with a Frank Zappa reference
concerned about that hassle and its effects.
And I would sadly trudge off to the PB, were I not already in it
you're name dropping all over the place tonight doug lol
Hi West, I'm lurking as usual but (happily) got sucked into the chat with Barb. Are you well?
fireworks, clues in profile
stid, I don't get the cellular bit either.
yes thanks had a great Mother's Day
jilli, when you said you had dealt with some enduring projects this weekend to me last night, were you referring to the nonsense on here or something else?
ah yw Marmar.
Yay grem and tyvm !!
Yay and thanks, gremlinn!
Fab, grem, and thanks again!
ah. I think, Jill, that it something that is not worth losing sleep over.
when did this all happen?
wtg gremlinn
ruru, it is an ongoing thing for many months.
<<----now very curious
YAY gremlinn
and thanks for the clues
mar is mother's day celebrated in Germany on May 9th?
Josh, no, it was work I had to do but the lingering sorrow didn't help.
<<--- last one to know anything
No, ruru, that would be me... :-)
Yes West, some years (for some reason) it's different than in the states but this year it was the same.
Nah, that's nothing. On another community site I go to, there was drama behind the scenes for a few years that I didn't know about.
I hope you had a happy one then
stid, I'm afraid it isn't nonsense for the victim.
As I was telling the Prince of Wales, I just hate it when people drop names
seems to me JC likes the drama
lol doug and thanks for the ty
Father's Day is always on a Thursday and coinsides with another holiday. Different than the states: the men all get together and go drinking somewhere. I can't get into it... Yes, ours was nice. Hope yours too!
lol, Douglas
I think, Jill, that some people take things WAY too far and won't let things drop when a sensible person realizes a response only makes it worse.
yw west
No, ruru, he doesn't.
Doug: I'm missing a name. I think I dropped it beneath your table somewhere.
fireworks
Hi everybody
YAY dart!
nj dart
Yay dart !!
And now, since it is obvious that I am getting sucked in to a discussion that has no realistic end, I am heading out. It is a conversation I have avoided since it began.
wow Dart, wtg
wtg dart!
YAY dart!
that's an interesting way to celebrate father's day mar lol
hey mcurl, and see you later... *poof*
Yay, dart!
Hooray for the speedies, Dart and Grem. You all are amazing!
,---- zips lip
Hi mcurl and bye, stid...
Bye Stid.
I think the fast-sounding names help us.
ours is the 3rd Sunday in June and always comes within a few days of our anniversary so hubby gets 2 for the price of one
lol
Gremlinn might be on to something. You never see BabbleSloth finishing quickly
I told my husband he's getting the same breakfast in bed (for Father's Day) that I got last year for Mother's Day: My youngest made me saltine crackers with writing icing on them that said "I love you Mom." VERY CUTE. VERY NASTY and I HAD to eat them!
Then maybe I should change my name...is Speedy Gonzales available?
awww how very sweet
I keep trying to find a Q word, duh.
maybe Speedy Alka Seltzer is
mmm.. "rurufireworks?
I have got to at least remember Father's day this year, I always seem to forget it and my poor husband doesn't ever get a present...note to self: remember Father's day this year.
YAY ruru!!!
mar whenever I'm blue I think of your husband and windshield wipers makes me laugh every time
Good luck with that Marmar.
Oh, that is sweet Ormal. I got break in bed yesterday, such a nice feeling!
lots of good fun memories on this chog
Me too West.
no matter how many times I try it this game will not accept sohn
have you paid a stipend to Dr God?
I understand that will do it
I've tried that too, ormal.
am not familiar with Dr God...
Now I do a similar thing, my son plays soccer and those shin protectors that they wear have a very funny name in German and I end up mutilating it every time I try to say it, something like shin shone shiners or shone shine swoppers, I don't even know the real words.
lol mar
ormal he runs this site
or she? I have never figured that out
Time for another coffee, see what happens when I start chatting? The poor dog suffers waiting patiently for his morning walk!
what kind of dog mar?
not that it makes any difference I'm just curious
dogs are great creatures though and very forgiving thank goodness
Dr God is a he.
I thought you would know jilli
Oh, thought I saw mocha in the grid, then, Marmar goes and mentions coffee...*midnight craving*
mini schnauzer! He's in my profile pic
thanks mar I'll take a look
hmm, no stipend, not that concerned, mostly amused at my persistence to add words that will not add.
he's adorable what's his name?
Oh Jellen, I'm starting my day here, sorry!
ormal I was just kidding
Monty. Lots of people here call him Monty Python. We call him Monti-zuma or Monti-ssori, Monty-negro...the list goes on...
That's all right, I'll make do with a sip of water... :-)
I guess ditzy really is genetic then west :D silly me
speaking of dogs our daughter's dog had to be put down and she was devastated had him for 13 years
Monty fits him
My dad was the type that could drink coffee at midnight and then go sleep like a rock...unreal.
great scott...I just typed yert three times...boing!
So sorry, west...I'm facing that soon with my 16 year old dog...
Oh West, that is the hardest. So sorry.
anyway she just got a rescue dog half shepherd half collie and the former owner smashed the dog's hip with a baseball bat
he's had several operations and walks with a limp now but he couldn't have found a better new owner than our Erin
Oh heavens West. What is the matter with people???
I don't know it broke my heart when I heard
Grayed out the y! I'm gonna party like it's my birthday, sip Bacardi like it's my birthday...It's just one letter, but still
Hugs to Erin...and her new dog!
doug, is it your birthday?
thanks Jellen we haven't met him but he did sign my mother's day card
new dog's name is Dusty
We looked at a Collie mix at first but the woman at the pound looked at our three little kids and said the collie was too much dog for them (she was already an adult, rescued from the forest in France and ended up here) then she said, "I've got the dog for your family", went away for a min. and come back with this handful of fluff. 8 weeks old and perfect for us!
No west, but I was celebrating my graying out the y with a 50 Cent song
I can just see the kids mar and he's not a big spoiled is he?
bit*
Doug you are a trip, an absolute trip. You sing all the time and make me smile.
today I got a great email from RubyFoo
Alas, I must go...G'night and g'day, all!
He's a dream. The kids actually take thier turns walking him and feeding him and he gets several snacks a day from them. Learned a lot of tricks so it fun for the kids to put them through his paces!
her son just released a CD and she sent me a few songs he is very very talented
gn jellen, hope you sleep well
G'night jellen
Goodnight Jellen!
good night jellen and hugs to you and your doggie too
That's the great thing about Babble, Ormal, people appreciate other people's...uh...unusualnesses
uniqueness...
we are family
Yes, uniqueness is a very good word indeed
Just today my family was making fun of me for talking in lyrics again...I like the differences in others. It's what keeps us all interesting. ;)
Pleasantly surprised to be past halfway with nbt. Declaring moral victory and wishing you all good night.
Oh my gosh, we speak in movie dialog around here A LOT!
wtg doug
Night Douglas.
good night doug and good job!!
gn doug.
I was looking for a better photo of Monty and found this recent family pic, thought I would update the profile pic.
wonderful picture Mar!
I will refresh
darn still can't see it
That was a beautiful day here in April, since then we have had clouds and rain with the occasional moment of sun....and it's chilly again. booooo
here too I thought all the mother's would be blown away..literally
I still have the Monty pic when I click on the profile icon but on the chat I see them fam....strange.
there's talk of the low 30's tonight
fireworks
Oh NO! West, remind me where you are please.
I'm in RI
Another awesome finisher! WTG Just!
also fireworks
YAY freep!
New England... if you don't like the weather just wait a minute
YAY josh!
Yay josh !!
WTG Josh!
wtg just and josh
and we had lovely weather in the high 70's a few days ago
oh, that's right, enable hasn't heard of a mosh pit.
So we're about the same latitude, we had a frost the other night, people who planted early get to plant again now!
Yay just too !!
we're going up to Maine for the summer on Saturday and I'd love to put in some flowers but I think I'd better wait
where in maine?
Ogunquit
so more like NH lol
I'm always chomping at the bit too. A friend of mine owns a garden center and she doesn't put out her balcony boxes (flowers) until mid May. Better safe than sorry she says.
we like it there
In Quebec we didn't plant anything until after May 24.
I should think Maine would be similar.
I'm new to this gardening so I'll ask the others up there
their gardens are magnificent
I've lived here 13 years, one would think I would get used to it, but I'm from Texas and there they are already enjoying some fruits of their labors!
I lived in Texas once it was hot and dry but we loved it
Beeville
<----Misses all her friends in Texas...going to move back in October.
I loved it too, not the prettiest place in the world but it's "home"
and loved the people
Beeville, is that is South Texas? My sis lives in Hallettsville and the rest of the fam lives in Dallas area.
How many words today
here you have to live somewhere for 20 years before you're not called a Blow-In
Where are you going to live Ormal?
70 miles from Corpus and 90 miles from San Antonio
152
Thanks
g'night all
Oh West, my sister is still the "stranger" in town and she has lived there over 20 years. Small towns are the same everywhere I think.
yw gran
good night just take care
Nite Just!
This time we'll be in El Paso, but have lived in Copperas Cove and San Antonio.
My outlaws live in Fort Worth and Marfa.
I know El Paso is in west Texas thanks to Marty Robbins
I went to Sul Ross in Alpine, I love west Texas! Have you ever seen the Marfa lights?! I have, very strange!
Yeah, I recently found out El Paso is on the Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico borders. I never heard of the Marfa lights, but will have the kids ask their Aunt.
that sounds really interesting
Maybe we can check it out while we are living out that way.
omg, mar! what year were you at sul ross?
Think "Twilight Zone".
seen the marfa lights, I was there in 1964-65.
Oh, let's see, '78-'79.
I bet Google could tell you about Marfa lights
Hmm, sounds great, will have to put that on the list of things to do!
is Marfa Stewart that old?
that google is great jilli what did we ever do without it?
Yes, Jilli, I bet so.
stop it ruru lol
got stuck in ignorance, I guess, west!
I thinkI'll go look it up too later.
Marfa is where they filmed the movie "GIant" in the 50's.
we went to the library and got down the Encyclopedia Brittanica
dan blocker 'hoss' of ponderosa fame was an alumni of sul ross.
it just took a little longer
that show brings back fond memories
Yes, that's thier claim to fame!
(not for Chinese people)
now they're all gone
what's not ruru?
(sends Westie to Maybury RFD)
Ponderosa
Chic, do you still have a strange longing to return there? Everyone we know from SR still longs to return, perhaps retire around there.
I'm not going I live in a parallel universe..you said so
and Hop Sing was number 2 son
oh sure
sorry mar, not a chance. my memories of there are not that fond. I was too east coast, so was an outcast almost, considered a yankee there. and, silly me, I thought the civil war was over when I went there 100 yrs later.
that's too bad chic my Texas memories are very fond
I learned to drink lots of beer there but I did love the tex-mex food.
today we had Cinco de Mama
lol
lol west
fireworks
our phrase for Mother's Day and Mexican food
Oh, I got you. In the name of my fellow Texans, I apologize for that. The food is authentic and awesome there, I agree. I also learned to dance there. Had way too much fun and did not learn enough.
wtg anike!
our daughter brought along some evil guacamole from Whole Foods
YAY anike!
evil?
Mar and Chic have either of you seen the movie Fandango?
Is it devilishly delisch?
very very hot I made her take it home
Yay anike !!
I have. the airstrip scene was filmed out that way.
No, but my brother has, loved it!
Way to go Anike!

I think it might have been his first
Have a great day Anike!
that and 'no way out'
Bull Durham is his best movie
bye anike
bye anike
no way out..was awful
that was good too my favorite scene was the players talking about what to get someone for a wedding present
I liked that surprise ending
in No Way Out
<---- loves susan saradon...
Since I cannot justify a third latte, and Monty is nonchalantly pokeing me with his paw and then looking away like he didn't do it, I better sign off and take him for his walk. Thanks for the lovely chat. Blessings to everyone! Bye.
hugs mar so nice seeing you again
she is one sexy lady that susan
yay, over halfway
susan s. was the best part in 'bull' and 'atlantic city'

the hippie bed was my last word
(breaks out lava lamp)
i loved my lava lamp
lol
and what was better...my mum hated it...my most potent rebellion..lol
(puts flowers in rolin's hair)
Didn't like them then, don't like them now
the lava lamp or the furniture?
Lava lamps. Can cope with 50's retro but not 60/70's (yet)
lol
ty ruru... i did that too...
lol...lynxxx...is it to soon for you to be considered an interesting facet of history???
me personally - god forbid!
i sometimes find myself telling stuff to the kids who work for me...and the look on their faces says... 'wow...she can remember THAT??'..lol
Know what you mean, I try to bite my tongue before I do that. Enough being rubbished by your own kids
yeah well my retort to my own kids are...dont take the mick....the older i am..the more inheritance youre likely to have..
I do though tell my daughter what it was like before we 'burnt our bras' I think that is really important
oh yes... tho not personally having physically burnt any...(im not built for such extravegance...)... my feminism has been passed on and continues to be so
again the young women who work for me...just dont know
but for now..i must away to work...have a good day/night everyone
seeya Rolin
night all.. have a great day
Bye Ruru

it is very slow to accept words this AM. Is it my server?
I think so, ruby.
good morning diann

really cold here and rain rain rain
myself is fine - how is yourself sandrafrances??

obviously, the tablets are having a bad effect on him.
you can say that again
obviously, the tablets are having a bad effect on him.
i have been waiting for that. is your other half bowling
no, not today. Going to the chiropodist for thing, and then we will both await the garden people.
how was your meal
very nice as usual. Not quite as crowded, but still enjoyable.
93 words and now stuck
morning all
Hello sprite.
hi jilli
Wait now. If "hoose" is not found in the dictionary, then what in the heck is a hoosegow?
good writeup, jilli
beats me, SamanthaJoy, and hi
good morning everyone :)
morning jean!
This isn't actually so much a morning for me, despite the clock's findings.
And if mosh isn't in the dictionary then what is a mosh pit??!?!
Does Homer know that 'dohs' isn't a word?
hi JFB
Good morning all
Babble is making me question the legitimacy of the language of my white trash identity. I may sue.
always love it when I can grey out the U easily
Srite -- very intersting writeup :)
thanks jilli :) I didn't know about the islands being left to fend for themselves... painful, isn't it?
And now I'm going to bed -- can't even type Sprite right.
sleep well, and dream even better!
Yes -- I vaguely remember something about that. Have you read that book -- the potato pie ting?
no I haven't. Good book?
Excellent. I can't remember the title properly just now (very tired) -- The Guernsey Potato Pie Club or something like that.
oh I will find it on the internet, no worries. Thanks for the idea!
Hello
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - right?
hi lady *hug*
googled it -- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
hehehe ok, thanks!
Goodnight -- I'm gone *poof*
night OSGMA
That is a great book isn't it? Loved it. Its now doing the rounds of the family
haven't read it, but seeing how it comes with such warm recommendations, I am going to read it!
I believe I have to go and leave anything to do with babble judging by previous comments made today
sorry lady, now you lost me... what's up?
Hi Sprite Infernal & JFB. What is Babble judging Infernal?
hi lyn!
hi Sprite, you are sounding perky - still healing well?
Not that I can't even have oppinions on my FB anymore which was promply deleted. Just read back in the chat between 1220 - 1228am.
yes, better all the while. Slow but noticeable :) How are you today? Had a good day?
Its a very gentle, feel-good book but informative for those who don't know the history of the islands. Now i must go and sort out the after the weekend house!
bye JFB
ah, good luck with that, JFB.
That's good Sprite. Very nice day
or say Hi to Jill anymore
http://tinyurl.com/df99gd This sums up my life at teh moment/ For you to have a grin
Sub group - well there is one but not yours Infernal. Don't fuss about it
oh, the J.C. business. I heard, Rolin met the real one and so the babble one got busted... that is all. I don't see why anybody could be angry about that, or it should be at the babble J.C. for lying.
what sub group?
Joins in. Oh, so that was /not/ the real JC? I did wonder at the time.
funny, to pick that word.. subgroup. I second lyn.
And good morning everyone. Slightly mystified as to what's been going on, but gets on with grid.
Rolin went to a show of Julian Clary and asked him about babble afterwards. As simple as that. He told her it is not at all uncommon for people to pretend to be him, or even set up personal pages as if they were him.
hi Sally
hi Sally! It is a good grid, so far.
Ah, I'm so glad you cleared that up for me Sprite. It would of course be a way to get at the real one.
Perhaps I will set up a fake personality. But who should I pretend to be?
You can't be the Queen. I've got the twin set and pearls already. Philip, get the corgis!
what sub group Lynxx ?
well, I like or rarely dislike people on babble because of how they treat me and others, and not based on any claim to fame. Hm Sally... want to be errrr Margarat Thatcher? That would give you some attention!
lady, in the chat you mentioned, somebody says a subgroup is after J.C.'s hide.
*margaret* So sorry.
Does a sub group operate underwater?
I think David Cameron would be better at the moment :-) And who says I can't pretend to be a man!
O right no i didn't
Torpedos and limpet mines and things?
hi Haz :) Your Royel Shyness!
Greetings!
oh cool Sally!
I am having a spelling issue today. Royal!
Haz why did I read that underwater us underwear?
Oh, can I befriend the man in the wet suit like in James Bond? I'be changed my mind about David Cameron, I'll be the young slim blonde with the flowing hair (I wish).
hi Lizzy! oops - Haz?
You're not wearing your specs, herin?
lol drag your mind out of the gutter, lady!
yes I am but I have written part 2 of my assignment for 5 hours today at 1000 words so not much makes sense
I'd love to be Judi Dench. There was a programme on about her last night and I'm telling you, I could listen to that voice reciting the phone directory.
of course you can, Sally. Less interesting, but wow goodlooking :)
voices are so important
It was 'The South Bank Show revisited'. worth watching if you missed it (on ITV).
lady: good for you!
I think we should all have alter egos. Less interesting Sprite? Well it depends who's in the wet suit. Pierce Brosnan would do for a start :-)
Absolutely, she and Joanna Lumley have delicious voices.
yummy :)
I'm a sucker for voices too Haz.
Haz you would love my friends ''posh'' voice on the phone. She used to be a professional phone voice person
ok then, who should I be?
Clare Balding is another one, she's not an actress but her voice is great.
You know, it's odd. When I think about who I would be (not that I can't be Queen) there's no-one I'd rather be than me. Pathetic, isn't it.
the first thing about my love that set off butterflies in my belly and heart was his voice
Oh, I know! Only of knowledge to UK, but I'd be Charlotte Green - now there's a seriously sexy voice.
same here, Sally. Come on, we will occupy the penalty box and have a goodies party, just because.
Do you want to share being the Queen, Sally? You could be Sandringham QUeen, I could be Balmoral Queen etc.
Comfortable in your own skin - I think that is great Sally
But how did you understand him sprite? He must have been talking Dutch :-)
am back good morning everyone again:)
roflol he was, and so was I. Dutch to the bone, both of us.
Not sure about the skin bit atm :-(
wb jean!
hi Jean
Odd that I am one person I would love to interview is Marilyn Manson. Yes I know very odd man but so very inteligent
I like the idea of sharing being Queen. Sandringham and Windsor for me perhaps?
Hello, jean.
Hello Haz:)
Yes, that sounds good, Sally. I'd be Balmoral, all wreathed in tartans and woollies with heather sticking to my boots
Did a double-take there herein, read that as Marilyn Monroe!
Of course, Ata could do a wonderful Einstein, being in the family and all.
the both of you will reign well, I can tell from the start.
You can have Buckingham Palace and the corgis Haz, seeing you are so good with dogs.
Sally he got his name from the dichotomy of good and evil. Marilyn Monroe was good Charles Manson was bad
and Spangle can walk on her knees and do a Corgi imitation
But the corgis go everywhere, Sally. They follow her round in a little cloud of ginger fur.
lol lynxxx
Not my favourite breed, Haz. Prefer bigger dogs.
as if Spangle would ever lower herself like that!
Can you imagine? Spangle trying to fit in with corgis. She's be so bewildered.
Surely Spangle would be Dog Queen?
If I sneak my cats in, they will soon see off the corgis.
apparently I am not doing my homework but I am :( I am babbling whilst I load up new pages
One things'for sure, she'd relish being chauffeured around. That dog loves the car.
lady, you are doing well! Lighten up and be proud of yourself. *hugs* from the sprite.
Hugs Sprite. How is my dear pup?
not good today! My love just came in and told me Terra is throwing up. I hope it is not a virus, but just something he shouldn't have stuffed in his mouth during a walk.
probably just ate some grass
Some times they get hair balls like cats
Most cases of vomiting are because the dog has eaten something that he/she shouldn't have. If the vomiting clears up within a day or two, well and good, you only start to worry if it doesn't clear up/ if the dog can't keep water down etc.
I hope so. Usually when he does that, he throws up and goes back to being happy. Now he is a little heap of pathetic something.
Don't give food for 24 hours, give plenty of access to water, if he's no better after another day, then start to consider other possibilities.
indeed. Glad it is on a Monday, it is easy to wait for a bit knowing we can get to a vet if necessary tomorrow.
thanks Haz and lyn
Hopefully he'll be back to normal soon.
he most likely will. Thanks.
Also make sure that the dog still is pooping and peeing like normal. Not so easy with a dog than it is with a litter trained kitty
Sprite, our dogs vomit often but they eat strange things on the property. they have survived , I hope you don't have any snail pellets aroun
Hi Sandy
I'm not lurking
It's actually more reassuring if the dog has diarrhoea because that way you can be sure that's it's a digestive upset rather than a foreign body or something. Messy, though.
no, none. Snails in plenty, though! Hi sandy :)
Do you know the best way to get rid of snails safely?
beer, lady?
right am off again but hope to bbl Happy Babbling everyone:)
Haz is right , if they have diarrhoea that means that they have no restriction in the bowel which can be very serious
yep
bye jean, have a grand day!
Herin, eating snails with garlic is quite a good idea
brb
not these snails, I bet, sandy.
Bye jean.
ewwwww not those sort the big juicy food ones yes (unless you are a wee kid)
I love the edible ones
will keep a check on Terra's poo, for sure.
You're a good dog owner, sprite.
thanks Haz, just trying to be good to him. He deserves no less.
I know. Non-dog owners would be aghast, but it's just something you accept, isn't it?
yes, like with babies. It needs taking care of, so you take care of it.
Exactly.
Sprite don't worry I do that with the cats. Have to to make sure they don't have any UTI's and are having the right food
And at least dogs don't have temper tantrums or roll their eyes.
children, pets, husbands they all need care
lol sandy, true!
seems like women are the most self sufficient
We have an elderly lady client who is besotted with her cat, sometimes rings up for permission to refuse to give her cat more treats than she should have. The saddest time was when she had shingles, and her whole concern was in case she gave the cat shingles..
oh Haz, exactly my kids atm... the tantrums mostly my daughter, the rolling with eyes, my son. So funny!
aw that is sad
My b.f is caring for me at the moment so I can do homework
I want to live on an island with a computer
Does he know you're actually doing babble, herein?
Your bf sounds like a saint herin!
I think caring for eachother is an important part of relationships. My love cares for me as I do for him, where and when it is necessary.
Sally I am actually doing work. Not one word into babble. I am googling stuff
oh sandy, and then you MUST name your computer Friday!
lol, only teasing herein.
This is beginning to sound too goody goody Sprite!
LOL Sprite
yeah, I know. We are disgustingly happy together, lol.
I am here for everyone else's benefit I think
That is ok Sally>men folk don't get multi tasking
I have at the moment about 6 websites relating to school
downloading stuff takes time. Might as well fill it in with some friendly chat. Or crazy chat. Babble chat, anyway.
you're here for mine, for sure, sandy. I like having you around.
I think multi-tasking probably looks messy. On Saturday, I was putting away shopping, making soup, making a pudding and making tea for a visitor. He probably thought that I was mad.
I might have got everything done just as well if I'd tackled one job at a time but I'm too impatient.
Well done Haz
my love is a Gemini, and my son too. They love doing ugh things at the same time. Multitasking is a male thing in this house, since I can do only one thing at a time.
But it's very efficient Haz. Husband gets his own breakfast and I can't bear to watch. It's like watching paint dry
The soup and the pudding were for the next day, he wasn't even going to have any!
We have cable broadband so it takes a heart beat to get it to go. I just have to get up PDF's which take for ever
How are you sally, I was thinking about how you must be coping!
You have to multi-task when you are cooking, otherwise things aren't all ready at the same time. We just don't think about it.
That's true.
I'm really fine sandy. Would never have explained all the problems if I hadn't been asked!
hungry here which is an issue when food is too hot.
Husband and I have been building another burning pile during the day. We will be lighting it soon - I do enjoy a good fire! Herin, are you watching Masterchef?
Main problem atm is that I have a (normally) mild psoriasis which has flared up a bit.
Sally, I think you are a brick!
Sally have you tried Udder Cream?
sometimes it is good to share, Sally! So we can say How are you, and Good luck to you, and We are thinking of you :)
Udder Cream!!! What the .... is that?
Um, herein, I don't know what to say! Is it supposed to be good? I find baby oil works well for me.
oh I love fires. Lots of restrictions to fire in the Netherlands, but even a small one can be great.
I assume it's for cows with mastitis ...
It is very good. You get it at feed stores. Dirt cheap. Mum uses Pine Tarsal
udder cream is very very fat. Might not be good with psoriasis.
Don't talk to me about cows with mastitis....
oh dear... lots of them atm, Haz?
Oil is better than any cream for me. If it is bad on my body, I put lots of baby oil in the bath.
Udder Cream used for cow boobs. But they have found how well it works for skin irritations
I used to work for a dermatologist. I know psoriasis can be bad. He used to recommend a type of light therapy called PUVA treatment
Yes, although the malady of the season at the minute is displaced stomachs. Husband is doing regular operations.
Also judicious sun exposure
that is really bad, Haz, displaced stomachs. Dogs? Or cows? Or both?
Displaced stomachs??? Udder Cream???? what next!!!
Cattle.
I really don't need high levels of treatment because I have kept this more or less at bay for 40 years. It has just suddenly flared up really badly on my hands, and I believe (after judicious googling) may be related to the bad throat infection I have had.
I get a displaced stomach after a huge meal.
BIG operations then. And, if I am not mistaken, you need to hurry... can't it kill an animal very fast?
Sally, I don't know how old you are but sometimes psoriasis can get worse after menopause
Don't ask me to explain the technicalities, but basically one of the stomachs gets into the wrong place and has to be put back again. It can be right or left sided and can't be left for the cow to jiggle things back into place.
hehehe sandy, babble chat can be so interesting!
Well after that sandy.
I have a displaced stomach problem, it used to be flat and in place and now it seems to be getting lower
It's not an emergency, have to do it within the next five minutes, operation but it can't be left for too long.
lol sandy
at least it should bring in some income then, Haz. Poor cattle, though.
brb
I know. But they all cheer up when they see husband coming.
He keeps the syringe and the scalpel out of sight....
that is kinda special
lol
Okay, time I was supervising the housemaids and making sure the butler polishes the silver. I'll be back later. Enjoy the day!
Bye!
have to go, time to feed and rug!! I'm getting sick of this!! bbl
you too, Haz, bye
bye Haz
bye sandy!
Is Haz a princess with housemaids cleaning her silver?
no, nothing so mundane. She is The Queen.
well, half The Queen, sharing the job with Sally
right back to the work
Later
go for it, lady. You are a hero. *hugs*

I just listened to a 2nd song on my son's album, a song I had never heard, I am all excited. The link is in my profile. Try to become a fan!
and, BTW, hello!
hi rubyfoo
hi ruby!
hi sally!
wb Ruby
do you still have your guest?
rubyfoo, you might want to take out one of the : signs.
ruby.....listening now!!!!
signs? sprite
you have 2x : (double dot) in the link.
back again for a mo
guest is still here, John may or may not be coming on Wed, depending on whether they can get on a DC --> Geneva flight. They're on standby and the ash cloud is backing things up
hearing the first song, sounds good!
Fortunately, Geneva is not a primte tourist destination
that ash could go on for years
I am so happy, can't stop smiling
that ash might make a lot more climatic changes than the global heating
the pig call is here
the pig call, lyn?
really nice to hear you are so happy Ruby, now I feel happy too
sprite, as you know, I am very poor in all computer stuff, fortunately John, computer expert by day, musician by night, will sort me out when (if?) he gets here!
and the dove call and the derisory hoot!
so5.14 Sprite
and the Aussie call too lyn!
whoops, pb for rubyfoo!!!
off to lunch in a resto in the next village
lol ruby, this is not complicated, don't worry. You put in the text in your profile? Just change http:: into http:
enjoy rubyfoo.
and an expression of disbelief - ho5.16
I am so lucky with my son!
lol ok lyn, got all those. Just didn't know it was for pigs. I thought cows. Also thought for a moment: oink? Oink? There is no K in this grid now is there...?
I fixed the "sign" sprite, tks. I hope everybody becomes a fan.
since it came out on Saturday he has more than 90!
will do so. It sounds very very nice!
I looked for a cow call but it didn't work
how about a dog cqall; chows just look away when you call them, saying "What, you want me to what?"
chow call
chooey?
just about time for the fire, it has just got dark - bbl
lol like cats. Talking to me?
enjoy the fire for me, sandy!
ours just sit down and look away.
I love legal fires!! we have a permit to burn so we won't be arrested
part of their charm .....
OK, I had better go and join DH and guest. See you later (hugs))
ruby, just to say I can't hear either of the songs. I'm on a Mac, but yoiur son might want to know
loved the songs and became a fan. Might want to have the album. But I guess rubyfoo is already gone for now, will ask later.
BBL keep hitting brick walls
Yes, I've slowed down quite a bit lynxxx
bye for now, lyn
so4 words are smartly hidden, Sally, lol. Just found the word for 1/60 of a minute, can't believe I didn't spot it earlier!
Well I have only just found the two on 4 words!!
lol! Babble blindness abounds!
st
hello st-an
found the big business man! Cool word.
and fireflies!
back - made our bed from scratch - Stew just loves helping by laying down on the opposite side of the bed to where I am, then racing off through the house when I tell him to get down. Cheeky boy
I found that one quite early I think, was looking for words with those two first letters :-)
Yay for sprite! 5 to go here.
Hooray for Sprite!!
hehehe he is funny! Good luck, lyn, with the rest of the words. I left a few clues in the chat, but nothing you still need, I think. Bye all, have fun!
bye Sprite, have a lovely day
And all done :-) Must go and check some other things, but will be in and out of chat I expect. Bye to all.
Is lickety's clues working for anyone - it seems it is still stuck on may 6 for me
bye Sally - Congrats!!
Lickety clue list has not been updated fr a few days Lord John. There will be a list on Gremlinn profile if you need it
There are usually clues in Gremlinn's profile, Lord Jono. Go into rankins and click on the profile.
thx lynxxx

yw
Just passing through - Movieman, I suppose you're a happy Chelsea supporter today?
got em! nbt pour moi!
wtg trif
hi Haz!
"mosh" is an oft used word around here, thanks to teenage boy....
Hello! I'm honestly not really here, but I wanted to catch Movieman in his hour of victory.
No lickety's and no updates of rankings for several days, I wonder what is goin on
Maybe he and Dr-G are on strike.
lickety does the babble rankings? I didn't know that....
No, lickety does the lickety clues, Dr-G does the rankings. Together they could hold babblers to ransom.
hmmmmm on strike, huh? maybe they are rebeling against work
You'll know things are serious when you don't see a new grid.
ohhhhhh - maybe they are off on a well-earned holiday together?
I remember that happening not too awful long ago Haz, maybe a year or so ago
I still wouldn't be able to find all the words, ha ha ha
It's a good point of conversation for the chat log. It's not been unknown for some of us to let our imaginations work a little.
very true
I know, Nono, it has happened - Dr-G has run out of grids on a couple of occasions.
is there a dh- word today, please?
I'm here haz, just had to empty dishwasher
Okay, I'll just say congratulations to Chelsea and hope that Movieman eventually notices! I've an appointment with the bathrooms....
And yes, I'm over the moon today
Ah! There you are. Happy today, MM?
What a result yesterday.......8-0!!!!!!!
You couldn't accuse this year of not being a close fought contest, that's for sure.
no trif all d's are do's
I know - poor Wigan must have felt like crawling under a stone.
Nope, I'll give Man U credit for making a ral fight of it
again, thank you nono!
yw
And there's always next year for Sir Alex to get his revenge.
i really must get a shower, see ya all soon
Maybe.......or maybe not!!!!!!
Do you think Al Fayed will sell Fulham?
He may, but he'd be foolish to
I mean, who'd expected them to get to the Europa League final?
It'll be interesting to see what happens. Football isn't just about the game any more, so much business going on behind the scenes.
Although I am a Blue through and through, I still have a bit of a soft spot for Fulham
good morning everyone:)
Anyway, well done to Chelsea and I'd better get back to the housework (weeping into my Man U hanky). Bye!
seeya haz!!!!!
*gone*
hello again, everybody
hi crossy
howdy ruby
bye to haz's back!
Hiya ruby

I am listening to it whilst I babble ruby....you have every reason to be proud!!!
i like how he has the site wired into the chart positions;)
thank you trifioso. The second song he put up, I had never heard before this orning
I can't stop smiling but, of course, DH has no interest!
are the chart positions just local for Austin?
seems so ruby
justine sound good, nice clean copy all he needs is to get it on a movie soud track;)
and he does all the voice and guitars, just has a professional drummer in there
the second song is more "psychodelic@
well, what else would you expect from a jr mushroom?
I didn't think of that, uh oh.....
ugh. I do NOT want to go to work today....sigh
shall I write you an excuse note?
only if you pay me too, ruby! no work, no dosh
I was hoping that dosh was a word :(
yes me too...no dosh, no mosh, no rosh, no peter tosh
oh wait. carp. PB
no mosh???
hahah, peter to**!!!!
but co**

Good morning!

ooops
good clue peri!!!
and that's me off for the day....moochas smoochas!
help with lone O pls
bye have a nice day
oa4 peri....poof for real!
sheesh, ty Trif
stuck on the O in the middle
Is there a list anywhere?
there must be one in bab anon
for yesterday, yes
oh,
os+ **e you ready?
ty but that is from another O
it can be from any of the o's
I already have it and the middle O is still blank
bbl
not really grant: the program starts from the top left corner (the D today) and when it hits the first O, it finds the OS4; when it hits the 2nd O, it again finds the same OS4 and thus, rejects it; but obviously it foundf 2 other Os DIFFERENT from the ones from the 1st O - similarlay from the 3rd O...
oo 6/27 and plural
lol,ill take your word for it mon 13..crossy needs a tea;)
tx marylin !
it's true crossy - those 2 oo words could NOT have been issued from the 1st O... and hi !
different keystrokes for diff...
i believe you..honest!
no more coffee for mon 13...lol
used to be a programmer and, for me, that's clearlt the way it works - we get proofs of this everyday... no coffee yet but tea pretty soon...:)
*clearly "sigh"
lol,mon 13.relax..look at this pretty day unfolding..find your zen..your wa...chi even
i'm perfectly relaxed, just woke up 10 minutes ago... almost a record for me...usually awake by 5h30 or so...
hi, all, gremlinn has a list
lol gremlinn always has a list;))
a babble machine is gremlinn
it's just that i was looking at the chog, and someone was asking
thank you guernsey
diving back into the grid "SPASH" - hi and bye Ggirl...
yes ty guernsey
cross, you've changed your icon since i was last here.
my old icon is out of order atm:(
is that a dog or a wolf?
have to re-import it from the old computer when i get time
it is a wolf, but it was taken from a much larger photo,so it looks squashed;(
is it a wolf that you have met personally?
i have met many wolves(in wild and in other places) but this is just a stock photo
we get timber wolves in agonquin
algonquin*
are there wild wolves near where you live? they're talking about reindtroducing wolves into Scotland.
not sure if that's a good idea
i can be in wolf territory in a 3 hour drive guernsey
up where my da lives
they're not prowling round your house and howling then
no,not quite, even where they are, they avoid human contact if they can.it is our fault not theirs
as always
take a standard huskey or malmute dog and times it by 1.5 and you have a timber wolf.taller but a bit more lanky
what's a malmute dog?
a inuit sled dog most often
kind of half wolf half husky
i always learn something new when you're on line :)
lot's of words for calling out to animals in the grid today
lots
here pig..pig..pig
and cow, cow
oh, no, not according to the dictionary - must be a dialect word
we used to like raising pigs, things get sun burn so easy though:((
so i've heard
and our large deer related fella
was it the bacon-eating part that you liked?
ty for the deer
lol guernsey, dont remind me of bacon,im cut off you know;((
oh no!
cut off completely!?!?!?!
Pioneering singer and actress Lena Horne died yesterday at 92 -- here she performs her signature song, Stormy Weather: http://tinyurl.com/28hx64b

sorry to hear about lena horne
I was lucky enough to see her perform here in Nashville with my mom many years ago . . .
gremlinn's not on so I dodn't know

hi herin
Hi.
My life would be easier if I was still talking to my ex then he could have done my assignment
what was your assignment?
FYI I've just added gremlinn's list to my profile
hey, herin :-)
what are the stats on the P please (but no clue yet)
I have to a negligence case in relation to rock climbing. My x was a climber

ah, the many challenges of Enable! LOL
i thought it was something to do with mattresses
lol gg
can anyone clue the last co5/14?
JM yes since this case has some thing to do with the areas he used to climb in.
GG, it's to5/14 but with a "c"
is it the bristish exclamation that is like the pig call?
"more of a flirt"
But i nearly squealled in class loudly when I was given the assignment. Negligence cases is one of my strengths and I did date someone that did this sort of mad thing for a hobby.
don't have the to one yet, but will look
the i am sure your paper will have more insight than other people's
more coquesttish

ty herin

nbt
oh well if i get the other 151,i can come back to it lol
Hi Crossie
howdy herin
Kitty can't climb on me as I am surrounded by books
and why have you created a book bomb shelter?
poor kitty
studying
at least unlike himself she is not trying to destroy my paper work with her paws
next month crossy gets a nook e-book ready.i cannot wait.hundreds and hundred of books all on one slim easy to use device
our school board is already starting to digitalize the study books for the kids
okay off to pretend to work
bbl
they will have every text book for every subject right in their reader
That is so wrong Crossie unless you have a disability. I don't like hearing about the ''death'' of books
it is not death herin.like i told gwen, real books will become even more sought after as a special gift as digital books become the norm..here ill give you an example, the toronto district school board will save 11 million dollars and 55 acres of trees by going digital with all their texts
real books will never die, they will just be better made by small publishers in small batches
eg: arkham house
That I understand. Can E Readers highlight text and allow doodles on the side?
I LOVE real books
hello all
is there a list anywhere?
is there a list anywhere?
yes herin
my wife can annonate and make notes on hers
Ok that is a fantastic idea. Stops the kids being crippled by heavy text books that are going to be outdated next year any way
hi everyone - ty for the o clues herin
do you relalize what a university studend will save over the course of a 4 year tem in books alone?
term
i now have a membership to 22 libraries in our county and can borrow books from them all for the reader for 16 days
peri - I have list in my profile
ty hoot
ty hoot
yw
ty hoots
if any of your buy one, make sure it takes e-pub files, thats what the libraries are doing their books in
Crossie. One of the text books can cost about $500 for one subject
That is ok Hoot
indeed herin,so you cna see the potential as a student
what will happen to the public libraries with all the e-books being made
what will happen to the public libraries with all the e-books being made
the libraries are embracing e-books peri
they are?
it will not be the death of them, more of a transformation
Can't lose a vitual book!
virtual!
each book will have a maximum total of e-book copies and paper copies
or steal it
and the borrowed book degrades after 16 days
but you can borrow it again
Cross I get asked all the time how I can have so many references on my assignments. Google Books is my friend
soon herin you will have "google editions"
they will have many texts for schools
this fall i believe
it will all be open source files text, html, pfd and e-pub
but the libraries will be e-pub only so be warned
I use Google books for assignments when it is just half a page i need and I am not dragging a huge text home from the libraries
e-pub books will be sent to the library just like regular books and the author will be compensated as usual
hello, can i get help with the se6, please?
HI Phaeton
there are 60 of these in a minute
2nd
ty kje...just couldn't see that
ty crossy
yw hoot
cat has broken through my defences and is now munching in my ear

oh wait now i do! Thanks
ea7 -to be within ea7 is to be close enough to hear.
great clue haz
ty
You're welcome, glad it helped, ruby.
hello, i'm back after a frustrating attempt to book a train to Cambridge. why do the train companies have websites that don't work? don't they want us to travel?

Reviewing that clue - wording is wrong....co plus the beginning of what comes between first and third.
how's life in France. Have you still got visitors?
I was on the phone with my son who is probably coming on Wednesday, the same day our current visitor is leaving. And it's been raining all the time!
John's first CD came out on the weekend and the link is in my profile; I'm very happy
i'm so glad, ruby.. i'll look up the link

last ty5/14 please
Hello all. I am at work and have some time to Babble off + on today.
anything for the p?
ty5/14 - a plural
Hello, Scrabbler, how are you today?
Hi Scrabbler
pu5 - to rhyme with the Japanese bed.
pl of what a car sits on
think of a japanes bed and schange the first letter
change
Finally doing better with this problem tooth--less pain.
that is ty 5-14
silly me!
ty
That's good to hear, Scrabbler.
off to cook some dinner
bye bye
Bye, sandra.
can it be fixed scrabbler? tooth pain is hard to live with!
bye sandra
I had Part 1 of root canal procedure on Friday, and Part 2 is on May 18th.
Fun times, eh?
do you make your dentist give you a small novacaine shot and wait a bit and then give you the big one?
The pain has been intense--up into jaw + ear. Nerve was dying--down into jaw bone.
No, Ruby, he just thrust those needles right in!
ask him nicely -- it makes a big difference to get the preliminary shot
or you can threaten to bite his hand.....
I am used to having a topical anesthetic applied to the tissue prior to the injections. Yes, part of my pain is soreness from injections!
that is horrible!
It wasn''t as bad as I feared--tiny needle. And I was eagerly looking forward to having nerve pain relieved with anesthetic anyway as it was making me shake, be nauseated + be so agitated.
i had to go to a dentist in France last year. He went straight in and drilled with no injection and no warning - i hit the ceiling
YIKES, GG! That is NOT humane AT ALL!
we go to a really kind dentist in Geneva. If you look around at local teeth, you don't go here!
and Geneva is less than an hour away.
I think they don't drink enough milk here and have terrible teeth
they make jokes about "American" teeth
I was in a small town in the Pyrenees and i couldn't understand his French and he couldn't understand mine, so i guess he had a local accent, but when it came to payment, he suddenly found he was able to speak English!
bad story, girlie! I had a local gynecologist do that to me; she was the first person who couldn't understand my French
American dentistry is quite advanced, and most Americans expect that.
I have to see to husband and guest; see you all later
Ruby, they joke about Americans with healthy teeth?
I had very good dental care when I was young and it has kept me in good stead even now
they actually say "American teeth" - big and white and no visible silver bridgework!
yes, we in Britain are envious of American teeth, although i think the trend for whitening has gone too far in some cases
American teeth = straight and gleaming white.
Yes, we pride ourselves on straight, white teeth.
has anybody seen Faye Dunaway lately? I saw her on TV and she's done something to her teeth that makes them super-white and too even - she looks like a shark!
Some teeth--veneers--look fake.
mine are sort of creamy and "relaxed", but healthy
she looked scary!
can you imagine putting an ammonia product in your mouth?
mine are creamy and crooked, but i still have them all (touch wood)
i've heard that it can be very painful
or touch enamel!
I periodically use whitening strips (Crest brand). Tea stains teeth.
I have a couple of crowns, but with live teeth underneath, no root canals so far, so I've been lucky. And still have two wisdom teeth although they don't help me with the grid
((hugs))
I had my wisdom teeth removed in college. I will get my 4th crown when this tooth is fixed.
lol, ruby.
GG, did you get an injection after you returned to the chair?
no. i had to (i was going to say grin) and bear it. luckily it was only a very small filling that had fallen out, and he didn't have to do much to tidy it up.
But the pain should be prevented regardless.
Alright, I must go see a 1 mo old baby girl now. BBS
my own dentist said he'd done a good job but used very old fashioned amalgem
by Scrabbler
has anyone got un6/27 please?
un6 - take the head covering from the monk.
ty Haz
You're welcome.
13 left now but will have to finish later. bye for now
See you later, guernsey.
Afternoon Babble land.
Hello!
I was just sending you an e-mail - good timing or what?
Hey HAz :)
Just gone round shutting windows, that wind is chill and the sun has gone behind grey clouds.
Is it freezing cold with you? It's bad enough here that gloves and scarf wouldn't look silly.
Well not quite that bad bu it will dip as low as 2 tonight.
The good news is that the baking soda seems to be working a treat in getting rid of the sour milk smell in the car.
hi FM, Haz et al
Ah that is good news, you can take the clothes peg off your nose soon then.
Hello, Aloy, nice to see you!
Aloy!! Greetings.
Greetings from New Mexico, where the winds are blowing cottonwood fluff, the only allergen that I react to!
A small bowl of baking soda in the fridge absorbs all sorts of smells and stops the cross over of one smell to another food.
What are you doing in New Mexico Aloy?
Poor Aloy, are you sneezing?
Hi fellow babblers! Aloy, when I lived in Nebraska, when that stuff was blowing around, I had my first allergy attack!
Baking soda is such miraculous stuff, it really should cost more than it does.
The fluff used to coat the screens on the windows!@
shhh Haz, don't want to encourage a price rise. Hi beach
Hello, beach.
visiting my sister on my way further west.. first AZ then CA... Haz, I am sneezing, coughing, the works.. taking some stuff that doesn't seem to be helping, but I'll survive.. ironically, by the time I get back to OH, the cottonwood will be flying there!
it sticks to everything, beach, and collects on the back porch... achoo
lol oh dear Aloy, hope you have a good visit none the less.
I know!! I feel for you... it makes you itch just to look at it all flying in the air
ty, FM... a friend brought me a mask yesterday.. am beyond worrying about appearances, so .. (-:
hello friends.
I hope you feel better soon, Aloy.
Hello, Trif.
Hi Trif
Suddenly saw an image of Aloy wearing a Nixon mask but does know what she really meant.
hi Tri... brb, need something to eat..
Hi Trif.
howdy. home from work sick for the first time. sigh. went in for a few hours, but got REALLY woozy,so here I am
Woozy as in sick or wanting to faint?
woozy faint. think I ate some bad bacon. oh, forgive me crossy!
We'll have to find some code word for the stuff so that crossy doesn't get reminded too often.
I am so embarrassed. plus, no work = no pay, so this is not the mae west
Hope you feel better soon Trif!
thanks, i am sure i will be fine. now, in other news....have any of you british folks heard if flights are leaving from ireland/england/belfast today?
Did anyone else in the household eat the pork product? Do you expect to be joined in your woozy state?
Let me check on the flight situation...
Gatwick is open, delays in transatlantic flights, also Spain and Portugal.
Don't think Ireland or NI are affected today.
thanks haz. mr. hate is flying back from dublin today....hoping he has a hard time.
WE can arrange for that to happen Trif *grin*
arrange away
.. back.. son in law is flying to London on the 17th, concerned too about the ash
I think it'll mean an extra long flight as they're having to fly around the cloud.
HIs flight will get diverted via india and then be re routed over the Artic.
here is something fun - the kids said something the other day about how daddy has a "roommate" now!!!! this was news to me!
Oh, no, Trif!! That is not good for children to witness or experience.
it's better than you think, too - it's a MAN named Jim
To share rent, I assume?
lol Trif
let's hope that is all they are sharing. at the VERY least, I think I should have been told that there would be someone else living there. Mr. Hate often leaves the kids alone in his house, to attend church, or drop off one of the other kids. Who is this guy, that is now going to be alone in a house with my children????
Fingers crossed for your sons flights Aloy.
*trying creative un- words.
Phone back shortly
add and un to the ho 4,6 scrabbler
sorry...
add an un-
ty FM... he will be there six weeks and then on to Dublin and Edinburgh.. he is a visiting professor and very excited about going
Oh, lucky man to be going to Edinburgh, my favourite city.
wow, aloy, that sounds amazing! what a great experience!!!
Has he been in Britain before? He has packed his thermals and umbrellas?
All of you with allergies to the cottonwood fluff, lean on your municipal councils to require that in future only male trees are planted - the next generation will thank you!
ooh... Haz, I know he checks the weather and has cohorts to advise him, yes he has visited but only briefly before.. he is looking forward to sightseeing as I think he has only 15 hours of teaching (plus field trips, grading, etc)
but helens... my tree expert friend said that it it the MALE microscopic pollen that bothers you, not all the white female fluff
what is he a professor of?
I'm sure he'll have a wonderful time. Both Dublin and Edinburgh are very historic cities but with a modern twist as well.
communications, Trif
BBS--must see late-arriving patient for staple removal of scalp laceration.
Bye, Scrabbler.
ouch, later Scrabbs
darn,just missed her
hi crossy
howdy aloy:))
Hello, crossy.
Oops - you're right - I grew up where only males could be planted because of the fire hazard, and it is an idea that is spreading for that reason - so I naturally jumped in, head disengaged from fingers!
keep looking for a Q word
actually,i have had both staples and big stitches removed, staples hurt less
howdy haz
ce5 that search, Aloy!
lol, good one, Haz!
I have five letters that are one away from being grey. FIVE
my sister is so sweet to allow me to tie up her phone line.. can you believe she is on DIAL UP?
Oh bless, I remember the days of dial up!
It's funny, we were reminding ourselves of the noise of dial-up the other day.
groan... and when my friends send me attachments, I want to kill them.. freezes everything
I am back. Now on lunch break.
<---- still on dial up...
I remember the sound of my modem so well, in the days when I had an AOL accout, many moons ago.
wb, Scrabbs, that was quick
<---- drives a horse and buggy yoo
Really ruru?!
you are ruru?
Should we do a whip round for ruru to get him broadband?
Many people in rural areas still have dial-up internet connections due to no cable availability.
too
Why, Ru?
I'm kidding.. it's not that primitive here
I have satellite internet, because very rural here
no cable available
LOL did wonder ru.
I did not know that satellite internet access was available.
year
*dragging knuckles... what did you mean FM?*
drat
Top row is grey.
Just looking at local Chinese Resturants meno (they do take away), since when did frogs legs feature on such a menu?
*menu even
ruru may be dragging his knuckles but I bet he's got lovely American teeth.
chinese frog legs
*suddenly losing appetite for lunch*
hi fellow addicts
Hi BDG
hi Gwen
hey Gwen!
Hello, BDG.
Sorry Scrabs :)
2 left one co 5 and one co 6 hmmmmm
I avoid the restaurants that have little handicap ramps for Frogs to leave the restaurant
Hi SG--go go!
co5/12 and co6/21 - three letters of a trick, two letters of not from. Then plural.
ROFL
not on list yet, but I see no Lickety
Lickety's ... hope all is well with him
TY, Haz
FM?
you okay?
There's been no word, Aloy, and Dr-G hasn't updated rankings either, apparently. We're adrift in babble.
Gremlinn has a list in his prifle Aloy
a trick???????
Could Dr-G be on holiday? Is that allowed?
ty Haz, got the co's... h'mm, interesting .. how can you tell the rankings are not updated? ty for the info, FM...
A trick or the first letters of a prisoner?
yay!!!!!!!
TY HAZ
Those were exactly the ones I was missing.
Done SG?
finito
I don't know, Aloy, but some people check theirs and they've not been updated.
Well done, Science!
Yippee SG!
ah so, Haz..
congrats, Sgeek!!!
Congrats science!
Scrabs - do you know anything about Xyzal?
I gave up checking my stats long ago, was getting to OCD about it.
clue for pu5/14 please
It should get a prize for being the most creative use of end alphabet letters, whatever it is.
It is just the active metabolite of cetirizine (Zyrtec). Nasal antihistamines + steroids are far more effective than any oral antihistamine though.
Vic--like the Japanese bed
pu5/14 - to rhyme with fu5, the Japanese bed.
sounds like french for slut, vlcl
<---never checked stats
The stats are nice but seem slightly arbitrary. Though I've got over 1 million points now, which I enjoy. Bonjour!
Big Pharma often uses X's and Z's in naming meds.
sensible ruru
Bonjour, Uni!
Greetings Uni!
<----- Me either.... I would be too depressed
Hi Uni! Stilll in school?
oooh, just in time for the antihistamine chat 8-D
hi Uni
No longer, Scrabs. Graduation next week!
Hi BDG
Woo hoo, Uni!! Then what?
Scrabs - drt switched me from Allegra to Xyzal. I know, they are chiral molecules (X and Z). Oh well, just wondered if it works. My allergies have gotten reallybad this year.
What would you like to know, Gwen?
yay for Uni,, congrats on your accomplishment~
That's the million dollar question. I need to attempt to get a job, I guess. Scary turf.
*proud adopted mama look*
cant figure it out trifioso. know some spanish but not so much french.
and the insurance did not want to pay for the Xyzal.......*evil sneer*
Aw, thank you, thank you. I'd like the thank the academy...and babble! What else could be relevant to an English degree? : )
Don't look too proud, FM, in case she transfers her student debt to you!
vlcl - pu think of someone pulling on over on you - it is pu5
Mama FM! :) How's your cleaner?
oh dn if i told you scrabby but i get fitted for a cpap machine tomorrow(my memory is lousy)
pulling *one*
is there a dh word?
pu5 - pu plus first letters of Mr Blair (spit) previous PM.
crossy you have apnea?
no dh
Hm, could I do that? What is 35,000 cad in pounds? Or Euros, whichever you prefer...
very bad apnea science
No dh word.
The most potent antihistamine = diphenhydramine. But as for Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Clarinex, Xyzal--all much weaker than diphen, thus nonsedating. nasal sprays would be far better choices.
Have a male one starting tomorrow!
thanks, Haz
I take benedryl each night. I use Astelin spray
Ooh lala, will he still wear tight pants and low cut top? :D
got the Pu. thanks all
It's a lot in any currency, Uni. Maybe she could fire her cleaner and hire you instead, pay off your debts in chasing dust bunnies.
Ouch that is a lot of $$ which ever way you look at it.
No surprise, Crossy. Wait til you sleep all night and wake up rested!!
lol,i am beyond that science
during the test i stopped breathing 22 times
scrabbs, i have found a neti pot more effective for my nasal issues than non-diphen antihistamines
I have not slept all night in years.
Hi Crossy and FMitch and whoever else I didn't see
dc -- how was the meet-n-greet this weekend?
FM has a male cabana cleaning boy, spread the word
for heavens sake crossy that is bad, you will feel like a new man.
Yes, Seain, good for you--clean out pollen/allergens/etc
Wow. I may have debt, but at least I don't stop breathing in my sleep. Feeling better!
great fun, EvaN :)
Love the help from my neti pot
(Turning pale at the mention of neti pots)
will be a new man fm
Neti pot?
I heart my neti pot!!!!
lol Aloy. Don't ask Uni
and the wife will no longer have to stand vigil all night poking me in the ribs to get me breathing
dc, saw the pics on FB; looks like loads of fun had by all
It must be a US thing, Uni, I'd never heard of it before babble.
one day I counted prescription drug ads on TV and made this list: Paxil, Zocor, Nexium, Vioxx, Plavix, Celebrex, Advair, Ambien, Viagra
I <3 my neti pot, also
neti pots =- yoga nose cleaning
i have never heard of a netti pot either haz
(this was for the drug chat, sorry it took me this long to find it)
Viagra is advertised on TV over there?
neti pot - ayurvedic device you fill with warm water and salt to rinse the sinuses.
I don't think we're allowed to advertise prescription drugs, are we?
oh yes, FM, along with it's competitors
yes it is - and cialis - why are they always in bathtubs? stupid ads
a douche for the nose??
lol
I googled. Oh my. Remind me of the things they use to suck gross fluids out of babies.
if you take paxil and viagra.. do you get a stiff attitude?
correct, crossy
Yep, nasal douche
Haha, Ru
LOL ruru
lol ruru
yes, ruru LOL
I also ad a little Alkalol to my solution = fabulous help
yes, ruru, and if you die --- OPEN CASKET
LMAO Trif
LOL Trif
I get a panic attack every time I think about a neti pot - once was way more than enough!
Far too many ads for brand name meds here, IMO. Lts of erectile and asthma stuff, it seems. sometimes the heart. Occasionally depression.
hard to concentrate on grid, lol
Hi dc!!!
I'm endlessly amused at all the names of drugs that US babblers regularly chat about. It's just not done over here at all.
same day i also saw beer ads, but you can get beer without a prescription so that doesn't count
hi, FM
beer and erections???????
not just brand name meds , i was counting ads for Prescription Meds
I really didn't realize ED was a big deal ..
Direct advertising to consumers "creates" a "need" and demand for the meds.
was watching tv here with my VERY proper in laws, when ad for erectile dysfunction blared from tv. I didn't know WHERE to look!
How was the get together on Saturday dc?
was reading this viagra box....up to 24 hours eh??? err...what do i do with the other 23 hours and 55 min???
Mmm, beer. I wonder if I could make beer balloons, or if carbonation would be lost..
It's a small deal, Ru
Don't forget cholesterol!
it's not ruru - it's a NON big deal....
aging population, ruru
snap,scrabbler!
That's probably why we have adverts saying 'You don't need a pill for every ill'
i favor outlawing prescription drug ads on tv. we'velready outlawed cigaret ads, ads for hard liquor, and if it's beer, you can't show anyone actually drink the beer
Can anyone explain the bathtubs in the ads? I don't "get" that connection at all
I feel left out, all I've got in my med. cabinet is generic ibuprofen that I take only if absolutely necessary. Someone, drug me! :)
*what if they put viagra in Beer?... omg look out girls on Superbowl day*
yeah, i think that allowing the TV drug ads was not a very good idea
i pray for the day lomotil comes off prescription....
not like the drug companies were bribing our gubmint to let them run ads. Oh, yes, they were!!
I agree that the ads are not a good idea
You are not alone Uni, I have very little in the way of meds in mine too (thouch wood).
Really, Gwen? Most of my stations are American and they often feature beer ads, as well as occasional hard liquor. Maybe they stick Canadian promos in. I definitely saw one yesterday for vodka and baileys. Sounded good.
Do Americans regard themselves as hypochondriacs or do they just take their health terribly seriously?
"gubmint'....heh
beach, all ads use sex or death to sell things. the bathtub i guess relates to sex (or at least pleasure)
I just use allergy medicines..
hello all! (((hugs uniquity))) how are you?
I see them here in VA, for several distilled spirit..
uni, i'm talking tv ads. i believe you are not allowed to show anyone drink your beer, in a tv ad, that is
Hello stidmama.
Hi stid
Hi stiddy!!
bathtub sex isn't all it is made up to be .. trust me on that
I regard many Canadians as hypochondriacs...Not much experience with the Americans though. Maybe I just think Nova Scotians are hypochondriacs.
hi, stid
details ru?
i use allergy pills, non prescription, and generic, too
LOL ruru
Do the taps get in the way ruru?
Gwen, our tv ads definitely still show drinking beer and promote hard liquor. No ciggies though. Weird.
whoop---just noticed I have only 6 left! was having too much fun in chog...
okay. hoping to get NBT before I list... oh oh... no list! LOL
go trifioso go!
have to position your butt strategically away from the jets

Ok red - other than breathing easier, cravings are still bad
hang in there mom
meds arent helping - in fact, I think they are bringing me down -
I am considering stopping them
my hubby found that acupuncture worked really well
thats not for me
Its a huge change, glad you are breathing better. be sure to let your MD know if you decided to stop the meds, they may want you to reduce dose slowly, rather than just stopping them.
I need to go to a spa - maybe a good massage, facial etc will help
i am not in to alternative medicine at all and neither was my hubby but there are some very mainstream studies showing acupuncture works well for addictions
spa is good too!
I can not imagine that a massage and facial couldnt help!
some massage therapists can do pressure point stuff that simulates acupuncture
ooo and a mani and pedi!
I have this thing about needles .... went to chiro last week and hanging upside down with ankles strapped to torture table helped
i wonder how good the cabana boys would be with a mani and pedi
i don't do needles either mom
maybe relaxation therapy
wouldn't hurt to let them try jmc
aromatherapy....
cabana boys? I could definately use some relaxation therapy - not sleeping good, feeling stressed - got bad news yesterday to add to it all
I have a brookstone lavender neck roll that you heat up that helps with that tension
clue for to 5
to 5/12
the to 5 that I have is related to a plaything a child might have.
measure of weight + I ** says the bride
there is also a to5 that rhymes with a type or apartment...
of apartment, sorry...
the one I need is after the to 7
I have a t plus the expression *** vey,and a consonant.
its my clue boo
hello all
hello hello ((mom))
Hi ruby
must be getting on bedtime for you ruby
hi ruby.
and aslindy and amelu as well!
*waves* hi red!
how is everyone today?
yes, it's late
amelu, any word of problems with you state and the oil?
is the qu used at all today?
did you see my mail about my son's CD? The link is in my profile. You can become a fan!!
I am thrilled about it and my husband just makes a face and won't even listen!
no, Harry
oh, wait... it's not at the beginning of a word... don't know about elsewhere
nope harry. not so far.
I did receive it but have not had a chance to listen yet. Waiting for boss to leave. Wearing headphones give away me goofing off
hello harry; it's just there to tantalize us!
what a waste :)
lol
sprite became a fan!
ooh ruby I like his music
what does he know ruby
did you listen, harry?
not yet but they are giving free classes at the local junior college on beach cleanup... there's all kinds of emails going around containing phone numbers for the EPA for reporting either the oil or damaged wildlife... I have a friend who lives closer to the water than me and she said that last week she could actually smell the oil... think the wind was going just right...
right now ruby
not much, mom!
it's definitely headed our way, tho.
smiling ear-to-ear, harry
It's something I'm trying to keep track of, the whole thing is just really unpredictable.
*proud mom*
as you should be
our friend from Florida is visiting this week and he has a clam farm off the coast of FL in the Gulf.
I live in the Pascagoula swamp area and it really scares me to think what an impact this can have on our ecosystem...
it could totally wipe him out (and probably will)
yes, amelu, I really love those swamp animals,
that is such a shame
And ruby the spill is horrible for the whole seafood industry...its sad...
is your son playing or singing or doing everything?
so much has been done already to ruin the Everglades and all of those wonderful swamps and bayous and now this!
harry, he wrote the music, is singing and playing at least one guitar. The only thing he isn't doing is drums!
Well, Florida recently did a buy back of a lot of the glades from US sugar and things were improving...
yes, the Pascagoula river is the only undammed estuary left in the United States... no interference from mankind (above littering, and most of us pick up the floating trash as we see it)...
I used to love going into the Everglades when I lived in Miami,(except in mosquito season)
I love the South and particularly miss the food
Oooh Ameulu, I think I am going to have to put that on my bucket list of places to see!!!
it is shocking how far into the Everglades development has gone
*headphones on - raising volume*
I've actually never been to South Florida. Furthest South I have been is Polk County...
It's amazing. I know that there is a program that was shown on MS public broadcast years ago that documented the water system and it's unique ecosystem... good stuff!
I have 60 words left, but have to say good night
hello to all
Good Night Ruby - enjoying the music
unlike mom (lol) I really like reptiles and was always fascinated by the alligators
I think the everglades are also interesting because it was the first National park created not for it's beauty but for the birds and wildlife that live there...
i love our alligators. though I am glad not to live in a place where they are hanging out on the roadside...
it is all flat, but the birds are wonderful. BTW, yesterday we had a very large heron in the garden, eyeing the fish, but a crow and I ran him off
the friend I visited in Lake Wales has an aligator that cruises through her yard quite often
I used to walk right up to them in one of the accessible wildlife areas, figuring they were sunning themselves and I was too big for dinner, but I was told that I was, indeed, vulnerable!
LOL. Visions of Ruby and a Ruby-sized crow flapping at unwanted heron!
hello Soodle, have you heard Justine yet?
the heron had about a 4 ft wingspain and I could see him from above when he left, what a sight!
Justine?
wingspan* poopy typing
my son's song (see Ruby's profile)

Hi Pini
hi MNH ;)
I am at work - with the chog open
I'm at work, too...lunch time :)
almost quitting time for me
I wish!
I need to leave on time too today - son has a track meet and want to catch some of it
how fun...I used to do track (threw javelin for a bit)
<-- definitely not a runner!
he is a runner and jumper
will make for a good afternoon then!
came in first last week in the 400 meter relay and second in the 400 individual
oooh, congratulations to him!
I enjoy watching track/field...especially when I know someone who's competing...
hopefully they wont do the runs before I get there.
...I watched the summer olympic trials when they were held here.
Its actually pretty boring unless its your kid - alot of wait time
* keeping fingers crossed *
and trying to figure out where he is =- what event - thanks pini
busy boy - meets today and thursday and baseball wedn and saturday
Well, I won't keep you - best be gettin' back to work so I can go home on time, too! :) Have a great afternoon; I hope you get there in time to see him run/jump!!!
Yikes...that is busy!!! (I remember those days with my kids)...
thanks and good day pini
So, take your time and enjoy!!!
Same, MNH...cya l8r

ty
and still no babble clues posted
sounds like an apartment you buy - change first cons
lickety must be away - you can get them on gremlins or hoot owls profiles
Bless you Mom :)
hello All. How are you today?
HI Nef
hi MNH. How are you today?
doing OK - at work waiting for clock to tick down so I can go to my sons track meet
sounds like fun. It looks like rain here; hope your weather is better that ours! (I remember sitting in the rain watching my dtr. in track)
sunny here but cool 55 degrees and breezy
its supposed to rain later this week and we have another track meet and daugher has a softball game. Just love being at the field with an umbrella
not too bad then. Just dress warm! :-)
I guess it beats the alternative though....
I hated the rain for track events! It seemed worse for track than other sport events (to me at least)
*bounces into room and sits down dramatically* hello all! I "think" I have all my work for this week complete. Will print it out soon and then start on next week's work!!! *look of accomplishment*
we have been lucky with the track meets - baseball and softball not so - game starts getting hairy when they lose control with a wet ball
on a Monday, stid? WOW!
good for you stid
I like track meets -- but the younger stidkid, who has "what it takes" is suffering from lack of funds -- no track at the middle school this year.
our school doesnt pay for it either - no bus transportation - parent transport and we buy own uniforms
it was a factor of more than transportation I think... I suspect there was an insurance piece as well as the coach's fees etc.
we are lucky our middle school funds the bigger sports like baseball, basketball and soccer
ours did too, this year -- not sure if there will be ANY intramural sports next year.
I think our coach volunteers - great guy - does cross country in fall and track in spring - we are lucky to have him as it gets the kids somewhat ready for high school]
that is SO wrong stid = kids need school sports
I agree, Mom. so the stidkid does Taekwondo (or will again, now that the school play is over), and climbs trees.
wow. down to 29 suddenly.
did I scare Nef away?
hello, i am just got an account, how is everyone?
hello waver, welcome!
I got ro run - work is over so get to watch track now - have fun all
later Mom. be well! ((hugs))
thanks!
stid, you didn't scare me away, DH needed help. His MS is bad; we are struggling right now
hey Nef. I am so sorry -- I thought he was doing better *very sad mama look*
hi waver
hi nef and stiddie
hi waver.
hey jmc!
thanks stid.
Hey, jmc How are you?
I am down to 24 and am thinking (since the sun is out) I could spend a little time outside. I got 3/4 of the fencing up around my veggies yesterday!
pretty good as usual almost all the things that were fretting me turned out not to be true
jmc, I am glad I am not the only person who does that! ((hugs)) and the rest is manageable, yes?
LOL, jmc! That's good news! :-)
mostly lol!
stid, we don't put in our veggies here just yet. And if I fenced our garden, the squirrels could access it faster than us!
good for you then.
so i have a pretty glass award my board gave me sat. night
I don't have the veggies in, but there are something like 15 "volunteers" that could be melon, squash or cukes. I love the anticipation! LOL
OOH! What for, jmc?
i planted some globe basil and three eggplants this morning
wow jmc! that's pretty cool -- are you going to put it in your profile?
for lasting 10 years lol!
ho ho! that is TOO funny, jmc!
that's an idea I will have to take a photo and it is clear glass
Tom has his 15 year award with the state... we are edging up toward 20 pretty quick!
put a color behind it? *strongly recommending pink*
LOL! *I* received a letter from *my* board saying we didn't have enough $$$ so we have to cut hours for a while.
cr*p, Nef! that is the LAST thing you need *stern mama look at stupid-head board*
and you may quote me on that one...
*strongly recommending really ripe banana peels anonymously placed in board mailbox*
I just HATE the way the economy is punishing real people while fat rich people have to cut back by stalling the purchase of their next airplane...
bummer. I killed chat again.
well, down to 20 and the clouds are looming. Back later to finish if I can. *poof*
sorry, DH called me away again.
stid, our BOD are all volunteers. We're a non-profit and they are just regular people trying to get by too. Monetary donations are down; but we have many people donating goods and services.
The problem is that goods and services don't pay bills or salaries.
evening, all
hi NB. How are you today?
Not too bad, thanks, Nef! Glad to be home - completely exhausted after working all day :) how about you?
hanging in there. Worrying about DH. (his MS is flaring)
I'm back, but doing about the same as when I left hours ago. I'm no more enlightened.
oh dear, Nef :/ is there anything that can be done to help ease it, or do you have to take it as it comes?
Hiya, Merk :)
We are waiting for the doctors to call. I have calls in to both his Internal med doc and his Neuro doc. And I keep trying to tie him down so he won't fall again (his legs aren't working today)
hi Merk. I'm not enlightened either; but it isn't just Babble that's befuddling me
What a shame - sure as a nurse you're doing all you can, though! ((Nef)) try and keep spirits up...I hope things will improve
thanks
(sorry, DH is trying to send an email about a meeting he's to go to and he can't read or see that he can't type right now)
Yes, if Babble were the only place we were not enlightened, we would not have too many worries. It's the rest of life that keeps us bewildered.
Clueless
In the shadows
Uncertain
ALL of those, Merk
No problem, Nef, DHs come first :)
And probably more.
(ARGGG! He's trying to send something in YaHoo mail and has it written in the "draft" section and I know nothing about PC's or YaHoo! He's making me OLD!!!)
there are days when you have to laugh and sigh; you know? This is one of them
I know 'em well, Nef ;) as I'm sure everyone does. I'm sure that's what sets us apart from other animals - rather than worrying about other animals eating us, we get problems like this instead...
How's your Dad doing, NB?
Pretty stable, docs tell me. They're letting him out soon, but he'll have to take it easy.
thanks for asking :)
Did you go see him?
I did, yeah - explained the situation and the nurses did exactly as you'd guessed; they let me in to sit with him whilst he was asleep. In some weird way, that was better - I could stop disliking him, and just worry about him instead. Apparently that's a lot easier when people are asleep :)
(((NB))) I'm so glad that you could see him. I hope that you can stop disliking him and rather understand that this is one part of him is his defect; and it isn't that he (or you!) are bad
I hope you understand what I mean; it didn't come out right (sorry). We all are defective in some way; just because we are defective; we aren't bad people
I got what you meant, Nef :) don't worry about that! I know you wouldn't have meant it any other way. It's sad, though, because I do want to be able to respect him, but I can't anymore :/
love is accepting people in spite of their faults
sorry had to put my two cents in
whew! Not to interrupt, but FINALLY! FIREWORKS!
no problem, it's a public chat :)
interrupt away Amelu - I tend to hog the chat ;)
LOL! Not so, NB! You would never be a chog hog!
haha! maybe just a bit of a drama queen then...
I've been trying to help DH again. Sorry. This is a public chat, so any input is okay. and YAY amelu for fireworks!!! WTG!!!
Perhaps a smidge... as are we all, naturally! *wink*
ARGGGG! Someone with the shakes shouldn't operate a computer mouse!!!!!!!!!!
... and Fireworks!
<praying: Lord give me patience, and I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!!>
YAY, Merk!!!! WTG!!!
K, almost time to run... anyone need clues?
and thanks Nef!
yw, amelu. HAGD!
TYVM! See y'all tomorrow, God willing and the creek don't rise!!
LOL! Bye, amelu
only here for a minute ... hello everyone
{{Nef}} I have to tell you my favorite saying ..... The Lord won't give you any more than you can handle... I just wish he didn't trust me so much.
hah! good one, Mom :) I'm feeling that
{{Nancy Boy}} I didn't realize your dad was sick. I am sorry
I agree! HE trusts me more than I want! ;-)
evening all
hi Mom and Katie
{{{Katie}} good evening
thanks, Mom :) I'm sorry too - wish he wasn't so stubborn so I could tell him myself
aarrrrghhhhh!
Are you okay. jmc?
I remember someone telling me that when things were really bad for me and thinking that God was really overestimating me. Of course he wasn't but it felt like it at the time! Chin up NB you will get through it
Or is there a pirate in the chog? ;-)
Thanks Katie :) although I must admit I'm more worried about Jmc at the moment!
It is amazing how strong we can be when we have to. Then we can collapse after it is all over
WOw! Somehow I jut hit half way through this grid! AMAZing!
that is wonderful Nef
I do love the fact that everyone feels free to come here and talk about their problems.
back for a few more;)
{{Crossy}} hello
hi, Crossy!
howdy nb;))
howdy mom
wb, crossy
ty nef
actually, when I came online this evening, I was considering asking help from the group at large with writing a letter...guess it has to come from the heart though ;)
what's your letter about, NB?
If it's to your Dad; you do have to write it from your heart
Back again. ((Nancy Boy))
Hi {{Stid}}
oh, same as the others I guess - there's only so many ways to say 'I love you', 'I miss you' and 'please talk to me' ;) I was just wondering if anyone had any advice...something I might not have thought of
Hi, Stid :):):)
sorry I didn't respond before stid. I was off trying to help DH. Unfortunately, I can't get him off his computer and it got complicated
Kiddo, advice is free, and sometimes worth what you pay for it! But since you are asking, it may be that your father needs TIME to get used to the idea of you living with another man. A couple of months probably isn't long enough for him to calm down. Is your mother as upset?
If your mother is not as upset or has already sort of tried to stay in contact, you can ask her to let you know when it might be a good time to try again.
"Dad, you are the most awesome person in my world and I miss you."
That's okay Nef, I figured things were happening over there.
Being a member of a family that has a habit of disowning people, I may be a little jaundiced, though -- "disowners" don't impress me and I refuse to give them power by playing their game.
but that's my family. your mileage may vary...
My Dad disowned me when I was 16, NB. (I chose not to live with him and his new wife -she was just 11 yrs older than me). We reconnected when I was 21.
excellent Stid, I too refuse to give my power to someone else
good for you Nef
wow, Nef - five years is a long time. as Stid says, good for you :)
{{Stid}} and {{Nef}} that is terrible
Life is full of all sorts of bumps both high and low. Sometimes we can't tell the difference when we are facing a bump
nb,i am a dad of a 16 year old boy,he may drive me nuts,i may yell at him,i may not approve of some of the things he does, but i will always love him.remember both your dad and i once held our newborn sons in our arm with tears of joy in our eyes and nothing will change that.we changed our boys, watched them learn to walk,we were there when they took their first shaky trip on the first bike, kissed boo-boos on scraped knees.Do not misunderstand your father.I can almost guarantee that he loved you then and loves you still. He is from the old school and is confused is all and perhaps his boy is not all that he dreamed from when he first looked into your eyes in the delivery room long ago,but never doubt, there is always love...so my 2 cents is to go with that nb
A habit, Stid? How upsetting :/ I'm so sorry - guess this is more common than I thought!
I think it's okay to share that my one of my grandparent's parents never spoke or wrote again once WWII began... a complete cut-off even after the war. It took 50 years to reconnect with overseas siblings.
{{Crossy}}
the grandchildren didn't know those people... overseas cousins are all but unknown (we know names but have only ever met one of them)
Beautiful Crossy!
Evening all - does anyone know whats happening with Lickety?
Cross is such a softy!
Hi Kazzer
just my ramblings nef
hey Kazzer, I don't know -- there is a list on BabAnon, I am told
Hootowl has one in their profile
hi Kazzer. I'm out of the loop myself re: Lickety
Oh Crossy, that's a beautiful thing to say. Thanks - gives hope :) I guess I've just been pretty confused in the wake of finding out what he told our extended family about me - made me unsure of a whole lot of things..
I've seen that one - I just wondered if anything was wrong
Oh cross, and I am glad you are here. I told my Tom that I told you about Graham Kerr, and he wanted me to be clear to NOT read his "Galloping Gourmet" years... he was definitely NOT interested in healthy eating back then!
lol stid
Nancy Boy, is there a "PFLAG" type organization near you? (Parents Family and friends of Lesbians And Gays)
I loved to watch the Galloping Gourmet
so did i - specially when it all went slightly wrong
NB, just be patient. Five years isn't very long if you do the best that you can with your life during that time. Just keep growing and becoming the person you are
I ask, because in the local area, often kids who are in the same boat as you (and "kids" means anyone under 30) find good support there and practical ideas on when and whether to reach out
I guess so, Stid - you're only a stone's throw away from anything and everything in London. But I think the last thing my parents will respond to is more gaiety...;)
But YOU will find support there, NB
And I think Nef is on the right track and it fits with what Cross said: YOU are an amazing, wonderful person. You always have been, you always will be. The truth is, sometimes people let superficial things hide the beautiful things, and sometimes fear of the unknown prevents open hearts. You can't change them, but you can continue to be the wonderful young man you are.
I know, Nef - it's good advice, if I could only stick to it. This heart stuff has shaken me. I'm scared he'll die before I get to tell him I love him :/
night all - have a good one
sweet dreams Kazzer
pleasant dreams Kazzer
here our versions of pflag orginizations are almost all gone now.the need for them is over it seems, because it is no longer a big deal
Did you find out what is going on with his heart? Did they explain it to you and tell you about it? (34 yrs. in CV-ICU experience here you know)
They are going strong in the states, cross -- and yet in the places that most need them they are scarce.
nb,get a few years on you and the pair of you should move here;))
I only know that he had a heart attack, Nef. Wish I could get more information than that! My sister will keep me posted, hopefully
And I bet you've told him you love him already, NB. I bet he knows that and is just having problems with *HIS* expectations of you.
what ole crossy said;0
Is he still in the hospital, NB?
sometime my ole brain matter actually works;))
sometimes, cross *marks calendar for next decade's event*
gotta scoot, see you all later. I am glad I got to see all of you
later Mom (((Hugs)))
ghee thanks stid;/
bye, Mom. HAGD!
LOL, Crossy! and he is, Nef, I think for a few more days of observation. I'm full of admiration for you though, to last five years - and you were younger than I am, too! Gives me hope I guess :)
*tosses cross guilt-free bacon*
bye bye {{Stid}}, {{Nef}}, {{Nancy}} and {{Crossy}}
tc mom
bye mom
bye bye {{Katie}}
hey Katie ((hugs))
bye, Mom!
hi stid {{{hugs}}}
okay, down to 18 and need the list to finish. BUT I want to get through a couple more chapters in a book for next week if I can. back soonish. Nancy Boy, remember that what counts is inside you, not what others think you represent! ((hugs)) *leaves choclits for all*
if you have any questions about what the docs tell you, NB, you can ask me. I was a CCRN for 25 years (certified in critical care nursing) too
*poof*
bye stid!
thanks, Stid!! take care :)
thank you so much, Nef - I will definitely come to you first :)
i'm off to bed, will chat more as soon as I get my laptop back, still fighting with the notebook!!
bye, Katie. Sleep well
I guess I'll be off too - rumour has it that tomorrow is another workday ;) thanks for the care and advice, all - very, very appreciated.
Take care, NB (((NB)))
tc nb
advice gets easier and easier once you have made all the mistakes yourself(many times in my case) :))
All we can do is tell our stories, crossy. As stid said, your milage may vary. I do find that I've come out the other side of some heart breaks a lot wiser, however
indeed
lol,but we all know youth is wasted on the young.lol.just imagine your mind and your experience as it is right now in a 18 year old ripping to go body lol
OH MY! How scarey! :-D
we would destroy the place lol
I like Joni Mitchell's words myself: I've looked at life from both sides now, From win and lose and still somehow, It's life's illusions I recall. I really don't know life, at all."
the only thing i know about life and women is that it has something to do with chocolate
I would never want to be 18 again either
lol,but really the journey of life is just as important as the destination.getting there is really most of the fun
Down to 65 words left now and not finding any more words.
58 here
50 left, nbt

indeed to..crossy loves rice
ty Min
and this diet has one thing going for it..it includes a single open food day per month;)
but the bacon vodka had to go..sniff
empty calories. my personal philosophy = wat you calores, don't drink them
Eat
okpeeps, have fun, kje tell me what you think of R2L
the other thing going for it crossy is that it appears to be actually healthy.
yes indeed red, brekkies is a small bowl of bran cerial,a boiled egg,a slice of whole grain toast,1 tsp butter and a glass of o.j and half a banana
that is a great and huge breakfast.
sigh. ok. guess i'd better get to work and stop procrastinating. boo.

Wow! That's quite a group!
DC said it was fun!

Have there been any other Babble reunions in other parts of the U.S. (or the world, for that matter)?

Evening (or whatever) all! Guess I'm not going to finish tonight, so I'll never get to the magic 30 days completion that someone said you had to have. Had to spend the weekend with my failing 105 year old father (went through Clermont, Brookie)--who had a sudden uptick between the time I left Atlanta and the time I arrived in FL, having baked several loaves of yeast bread and a chocolate cake.
Jayk, did you go through Clermont FL?
and what is the magic 30 days completion?
I have too ch X2, ,ea7, oo7. So I'm missing the ec and the tr that Mom listed
Hi Jayk, sorry to hear about your dad
Yes, went through Clermont. Someone told me that you had to complete 30 consecutive grids to earn the 1030 points
people who shout off the mountain tops to hear their voices come back to them
Jayk, you know, I live in Clermont. I would have gotten you a cuppa coffee....
